I joined Weight Watchers last March, with Oprah on board and a fantastic reputation, it seemed to be a good fit for me. I fell in love with the SmartPoints plan, I had finally found a lifestyle that would help me reach and maintain my weight loss goal! I absolutely love the support and social aspects of the meetings. But then they RUINED it with a restrictive FAD diet called Freestyle, which is anything but freeing. The company line that they added over 200 zero points foods made me lose respect for WW because fruits and vegetables were always zero, and listing every single bean variety and fish in the sea separately is FUNKY MATH. We see you.

They took away a big block of my points and I felt forced into eating things I didn’t want to. I’m allergic to beans! If I see another chicken breast, I’m going to scream. I had steady gains over the past month and that’s unacceptable when I’m paying $45/month for a plan that worked so well before. I was forced into buying a third party app that supports SmartPoints so I could go back it 30. I may have to quit altogether because why should I pay for a weight loss plan that wants me to gain weight?

My Husband and I have been Weight Watchers members since June 2010. We have a combined loss of 140 pounds and have been around goal for more than 6 years. The new program is awful. I have been following FreeStyle since the December 2016 launch. There are simply not enough calories in day. I am constantly hungry. If you were a member and had been following the SP Plan and eating lean protein before with low carbs the only thing the new program has done is take away liveable points. This new plan is not a lifestyle, it is a DIET. Give members the option of staying with SP. Don't take that away.

I have been a Weight Watcher off and on for the last 28 years. I have been through all the changes from counting fats and proteins to the latest debacle "Freestyle". I realize change is hard for anyone on any program but I feel like WW really missed the mark on this combination of Smart Points/Simply Filling plan that they have recently rolled out. Plain and simple...after 2 months of trying it...IT DOES NOT WORK! I'm not sure who they tested this on and where they got their data, but it's a bust! You are dealing with people who have a food addiction! You cannot tell someone one month that 3 oz of chicken is 3 points and then roll out a new plan and it's free!? Nothing is free! All food has calories! The reason WW worked in the past is because it taught people portions and boundaries with food. They have lost me a member until they get this straightened out! WW needs to take a hard look at this as I am not the only one who feels this way!

I have been a WW member on and off since 2004. I have suffered through 3 program changes now and have still not lost all my weight. I was the most successful losing weight with the Momentum Program and then they changed it before I could reach goal. All this new science in eating is just a waste of money to me. The Points Plus did not work for me, and the Smart Points program was really restrictive. I tried the new Freestyle program and unless you are a vegetarian, the program is NOT going to work. Who eats such a mundane menu of food? Chicken, turkey, beans, tofu, vegetable and eggs? Really?

Oh, and the eating out bit? Not happening. You do not have enough points to afford that luxury. Watchers claims you can eat anything, but that is truly not the case. My opinion is that the new "free foods" was a very big mistake on WW's part, because you are definitely not going to lose eating all of this protein for free. You need structure to lose weight and they just took that away from you. Never wasting my money on Weight Watchers ever again. You can do Atkins for free, along with My Fitness Pal, Spark People, and Lose it.

WW Freestyle- I was initially excited to begin WW. It's been almost 2 weeks and I've lost 5 pounds. That sounds great except for I feel like I'm starving, shaky and can't think straight sometimes. I went over my point allotment today (24). So I decided to input my food into MFP for comparison. I'm averaging just under 800 calories a day, no wonder I feel terrible. I feel too weak to even workout, or God forbid I eat a cookie. Severely disappointed in this program so far. I know there are zero point foods but am I really expected to live off of that list for the rest of my life? Not sustainable. I will be canceling my membership and chalking this up to a lesson learned. I would rather stick to a healthy 1600 calories a day on MFP than be punished by WW starvation any longer.

It is such a shame that we can not choose what point system we want to use on the app or site. I am seriously thinking of quitting forever. Such a shame with all the weight loss apps that only cost $2.99 per year. You really messed up with this change.

Under the "SmartPoints: Beyond The Scale" system, this was a fantastic service. The system changed to "Freestyle", and it's stopped working. "Freestyle" may work for some, not me. I contacted Weight Watchers to lodge a complaint. It's their service, they can choose to listen to my feedback, or ignore. It's my money; I can choose to spend it with them to use a service or not. I'm giving it 2 more weeks, if it doesn't start working, then I'll cancel and find something that does work.

Weight Watchers changed the plan to Freestyle... That's fine,I attempted it for 1 month.gained weight. Headaches, bloated, hungry, food not adding up to the correct SP. I feel so confused from the scanner on app on foods, not being correct. I feel as though WW has completely done wrong, by not giving their paying members a choice between SP Beyond the Scale and the Freestyle. Track or not track 0 FSP? Eat or not eat. The plan is not clear! People all over social media getting into arguments over this. I'm now tracking 3 different ways just to attempt to do Smart Points Beyond The Scale.

I had lost 30lbs on Beyond the Scale, didn't feel like a diet and could really see myself eating this way for life. Thanks for throwing that option away. It feels like they just don't care about their members any longer. Just throwing the new program out to us, it really feels as if it was halfway thrown together. The scanner half right at times. Takes me 2 hours to do my weekly shopping now trying to find what beans are 0 FSP and why this brand comes up 2 SP and this one scans 0! I mean really WW... WW says no need to track the 200+free foods! The least this company could have done is give a choice between the 2 different plans.

I'm done. The online members, like me, had to rely on info. about this plan from other members via social media. We couldn't even get simple book materials from meeting places. Just book materials. That's all! That took an act of congress to get these pamphlets. Is there a freestyle calculator or do we use Beyond The Scale calculator? Question never answered simply! And the support call centers, every time I've called they've been out of the US., I can't understand 3 words they are saying. I lived and felt like WW really cared when I joined in June of 2017. But when Dec. 1. came, I feel like a dropped hot potato! I'll give my money to another app. Couldn't be any worse!

I loved the SmartPoints program. I joined in November and I chose the 6 month program. Once Freestyle dropped I've not had much success. I don't eat many 0pt foods, and it's good that I don't, because so many people are gaining weight. The past 4 weeks I've lost 2 lbs. I've been exhausted, hungry, and overall unhappy with the new plan. I went back to calculate my calories that add up to my 23 points. I was only eating 900 calories! This new system is so flawed. I now put my points back to 30 and I'm tracking SP again. Once May comes I will be terminating my subscription with Weight Watchers. Wish I could terminate now, but I don't want to pay the fee. There's so many trackers out there that follow the SP plan and way less money.

I have never and I mean never had as much trouble with WW as I did the two weeks I followed Freestyle. I gained 2.2 lbs that week despite keeping up my water intake and measuring/weighing and tracking all my free foods. The week I went back to SmartPoints using a third party app I lost that weight plus some. WW needs to listen to their members and make SmartPoints an option once again. I have been at goal for over 5 years but since Freestyle was introduced I've been fighting to maintain. With no clear healthy guidelines and the lack of suggested portions it is so easy to manipulate the program to eat way too many calories in zero point food, leaving room for eating 'whatever I want.' I used to recommend WW to friends and say how well balanced it was. No more. I'm not encouraging anyone to join as long as Freestyle is the only option. I will keep attending my meetings because the leader and group are great, but I'm switching back to SP.

When I first joined WW in 2005 I dropped 35 lbs. I gained most of it back and rejoined in August of 2017. I had success with the Smart Points losing 18 lbs in 5 months. Now they started this Free Style plan and I gained 5 lbs. How can something 4 weeks ago have a point value and then all of a sudden it doesn't? The best program was the old one in 2005. Now it seems this is a modified Atkins diet where you cannot have any Carbs or sugars. It has now evolved to a diet and not a lifestyle way of eating as it did in the past. Shame on WW for making a change for the sake of change. You lost your way for profits. I have a 6 month commitment and will be canceling at that time. I can no longer recommend WW as it's just another diet that you can't do for the rest of your life. IT'S WAY TOO restrictive and if you use your points you gain weight.

I have been a member of Weight Watchers for over 20 years (LT and WAS at goal before FS) and a big fan of the points program in every iteration. Except the latest Freestyle program. I am a healthy eater who overeats. Making foods that I eat all the time zero points is causing me to overeat. I know, I know portion control! But, I need the check-in of calculating points to control my portions. I don't need more freedom, I need more control.

I wish there was a way to keep the old version in the app so that I can lose the 5 pounds I've gained since the switch to Freestyle. The leader showed me how to change my points and then quick add points for things like chicken, etc. Problem is I need the points guide (that I don't have anymore) and it's a pain in the neck to do that after relying on and trusting the app for so long. After 20 years, it may be time to move on to another plan and stop telling people how great Weight Watchers is because, for me, it's not anymore.

Have been with WW through different changes, over the years, having lost 45 lbs in last several months. Offering the new Freestyle, with no option to stay on the existing program, is turning into a massive mistake. WW has never before offered a plan that keeps one from losing. I gained 8lbs before I put myself back on the SmartPoints (previous) program and letting my membership expire. Obstinate customer service who refuse to listen-or can’t understand (outsourced) only compounds the issue. Waste of money, or worse - we don’t need to shell out money to gain.

I have always been open to changes in the program and welcomed improvements. So you cannot imagine how very disappointed I am with Freestyle!!! It has gone from being a lifestyle I embraced to a four letter word “DIET”. It is very misleading advertising by saying there are 200 free foods...really. How can anyone consider lemon zest a food!!! I’m allergic to fish, beans upset my stomach, have never liked yogurt of any kind and it is ridiculous to think I will eat chicken, and eggs every day to make up for my lost points! Not to forget I’m just plain miserable doing it...

We should have the option to do the previous smart points plan the same way we have the option to do the simply filling plan. If WW truly believes they are a lifestyle plan then let us the members choose which lifestyle works for us. But because I’m lifetime and therefore don’t pay to belong I don’t make WW any money and don’t really think they care what my thoughts are. Although I always use to recommend the program I can no longer do it in good conscience.

I have been a member for years, and have been very successful on the Smart Points program. Smart Points offered members a way to eat nutritious foods and learn proper portion control. I love my WW Leader, and whenever anyone asked me about my weight loss, I couldn't wait to tell about Weight Watchers. Not anymore, sadly. I am VERY disappointed in the Freestyle program. Many of the now zero point foods were very low in points to begin with, but honestly, there's only so much chicken, beans, and eggs one can eat? This basically became a high protein, low carb DIET instead of a rational, scientifically proven LIFESTYLE. Weight Watchers has apparently forgotten that zero point foods have calories. Simply plugging what I was eating on Freestyle into My Fitness Pal, it was pretty obvious why I was suddenly gaining weight.

At this point, I have gone into my settings and have adjusted my points back to 30, and I have also manually entered many of my frequent foods (having to reenter all of the nutritional information and then saving that info as a new food such as SP hard-boiled eggs). So basically, I'm doing Smart Points, but without the helpful advice from WW ("you're just not giving it a chance," or "you're eating too many zero point foods." No I'm not). With other programs out there and lots of apps that calculate SP for you (like iTrackBites), I honestly don't think I will continue my membership.

I have to preface my review by saying that the Smart Points plan worked great for me. I steadily lost and never felt deprived or hungry. I was very open to the Freestyle plan when it was first announced. My enthusiasm was hampered by instant weight gain. I followed the plan to a T. The same thing happened the next couple of weigh ins. I thought I was doing something wrong. I really looked at what I was consuming daily. I charted my food along with the WW app. Clearly I was consuming far too many calories as well as carbs. Yet, I still did not feel “free” to eat out like I had on the previous plan and I felt deprived.

I expressed my concerns with the WW staff. Next week try harder, so I did. Gain again, this week I devised my own plan by doing a version of Smart Points with another app. It’s working, I’m already seeing a loss and I feel better! I do not know how much longer I will be willing to pay WW $45.00 a month to weigh in and attend meetings when I’m doing a plan that is no longer supported by Weight Watchers.

Signed up to WW on 2nd October for 3 months. Or so I thought!! My subscription was due to end on 2nd January. I wanted this purely for 3 months. I just noticed that I've been charged from 2nd January. Apparently it's a recurring subscription and I should of read the small print! Ok my bad, however, I called the customer service's line today, spoke to Olivia, who sounded really uninterested, was really patronizing and kept repeating I should of read the terms and conditions. Refused to raise a complaint. I called again as the number I originally dialed stated complaints and spoke to Helen. Helen was equally repetitive as if they are all programmed to state READ THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS. Apparently they don't like people talking to them unless we are happy. Oh no. God forbid I should be unhappy!

This is Weight Watchers and they CLEARLY don't care one way or the other for the customer and feel they can do what they like, take people's money willy nilly as God forbid they didn't read the small print!!! I feel after 3 months using WW totally and utterly astounded that they treat customers in this awkward, patronizing and uncaring way. I was going to sign back up in a months time, but after this experience they can stuff it.

I have been a Weight Watchers member since January 2017. I lost 35 pounds on their smart points program. I was very happy with my progress, and I was almost to my goal weight when Freestyle happened! I am very unhappy with the new program. I am always hungry, and feel quite unhappy that I am gaining weight. Previously, I liked the fact that I could eat whatever I wanted on smart points, and the portion size was recommended, and controlled.

I would like to go back to the old smart points system, but Weight Watchers has not made that possible. All the recipes that I so painstakingly saved have been updated to Freestyle. I am seriously thinking of quitting weight watchers and doing this on my own. I know I can do it because I was an online member for 11 months when I consistently had success. Weight watchers just changes the program every 2 years or so to make money and charge for new products. Shame on them and shame on me, if I continue to pay them for a program that doesn’t work for me.

I did WW successfully when it was Points Plus, I know it's changed many times over the years, I fell off the wagon years ago and decided to get back on track, I went with the new WW, I dont get it? It feels like Mediterranean and Atkins had a baby called Freestyle, it's not geared towards portion control or calories, it's now eat whatever fruits veggies and chicken and fish 0 points, I'm finding my usual go to oatmeals and added nuts are in excess of 9 points one serving, I'm only allotted 25 points, which means I'm stuck with the zero points beans and chicken, no capping of these items.

They put a suggested serving size but you dont have any points accrued for any amount. It's zero points not zero calories, if I could refrain myself from overeating, I wouldnt need a diet program in the first place. I find myself overeating mounds of fruits just because the lacking in points does not fill me. I logged the actual calories I was eating in one day, it was over 1800. I wont lose weight doing this. That's a fact. I need that control or otherwise I wouldnt need this at all. I thrive on accountability. I'm going back to my free cal counting sites, cancelling this as soon as my 3 months are done, what a joke!

By simply following the Smart Points program (tracking what I ate and staying within my daily and weekly points budgets) and attending weekly meetings and weighing in, I lost 75 lbs in one year and to date have lost a total of 90 lbs. Some aspects that I particularly appreciate about Weight Watchers have been: approachable, helpful leaders and receptionists; other members sharing what works for them - tips, recipes, etc during meetings; stickers and charms to acknowledge progress; the app which makes tracking really easy.

I am very disappointed with the new Weight Watchers freestyle plan. It seems that WW wants people to keep paying and not lose weight. It is very difficult to follow this diet, and I find myself hungry more often than when it was just the smart points, so it is easy to overeat. Basically, this plan is not really a free plan, but a way to overeat and keep paying WW because the weight loss experience is extremely slow.

I am not a fan of the new Freestyle program -- it is almost impossible to eat within the 23 points I'm allotted daily. It creates a defeatist mindset -- if I have a small bowl of cereal and two cups of coffee for breakfast in the morning, I've used almost half my points for the whole day! The old system in 2017 was excellent. I was able to lose 45 pounds in 10 months. Then just before the New Year (when most people start their diet for the New Year) they changed the plan. The 200 free items were on every news station and got lots of free advertising for Weight Watchers. The timing of the rollout and the lure of free points makes great press. However it is not good for their clients. The new system does not limit overeaters or those with a large appetite. 1 can of chickpeas has 1500 calories which will make about 1 cup of hummus. Hummus made without olive and eaten with 6 carrots is 0 points but it is 1800 calories. Turkey chili made with kidney beans, ground chicken or turkey breast and fresh tomato sauce is zero points. An average bowl has 3 cups or 600 calories. A full size meal can easily eat 2 bowls or 1200 calories.

The old system tracked everything and had no FREE points. The new system give us inaccurate information. It does not allow us to make educated decisions. It's almost as if Weight Watchers made it less accurate and Dumped it down or as the marketing put it "simpler" for some free press. I and many others would gladly take the extra 60 to 90 seconds a day it takes to properly track all of our food to have accurate information. It's not much to ask if you want to lose weight. The new system takes that away from us. I will now have to switch to an app that tracks every calorie. That will take a bit more time and discipline. The old points system was accurate and detailed enough to work. The new system is not. It is a shame, the online support with Connect is great, it will be missed.

Weight Watchers should STRONGLY consider going back to the proven system or at a minimum offering a choice the old system called Weight Watchers Legacy or the new less restrictive and inaccurate Freestyle. Let the members decide. If you are a large eater I would consider another system that track calories. The new Weight Watchers system is too vague in its tracking of calories.

#1 - Buyer beware! I signed up for Weight Watchers' (WW) online service and meetings using my health insurance sponsor code and was sent a receipt email showing I'd signed up for $15.96 (insurance was to subsidize the remainder). I was reassured over the phone that the code was accepted and that my insurance would cover. I paid on 1/5/18. Imagine my surprise when I looked on my credit card statement this morning and found that WW had charged me $31.96 on 1/20! - FIFTEEN days after charging me the $15.96! The only reason I even checked is that they did the EXACT same thing to my coworker who has the same health insurance provider as I do. She's calling them now to cancel entirely and demand her money back as well.

I've already called. They are refunding me but could provide no explanation as to how/why they charged me $31.96 after already charging me the agreed upon monthly fee of $15.96 just FIFTEEN days after the first charge. You've been warned. #2 - From 1/1/18-1/5/18, I used MyFitnessPal (MFP) and lost 3 lbs. I joined WW on 1/5 and went to my first WW meeting on 1/6. From 1/6 -1/13, I followed the "Freestyle" diet to the letter and GAINED a lb. I was told that maybe I should just track and measure the "zero point foods" and, verbatim, "Did you expect to lose weight in one week?" Huh?! Yes, I expect to lose weight in a week on a plan where they weigh me weekly at meetings! (Seriously, WW, you should screen your teachers better.) What kind of nonsense are they peddling? I went back to MFP online and lost 2 lbs in three days. I'm now down another lb - due to MFP, NOT WW!

If you are someone who is thinking of signing up, let me just bring a big dose of reality to you - there is NO SUCH THING as zero point foods (foods you can eat without paying attention to portions, etc.) I'm not the only one who gained weight when switching to WW either. Others have experienced the same thing. So, why would one want to pay to follow a diet plan for which one still has to measure one's food and track one's calories when the plan sells itself as one for which its followers don't have to do that with certain "zero point - no track" foods? Just use MFP or Calorie King or any other FREE food tracker and exercise and you'll lose. Weight Watchers has gone way off track in my opinion and I will never sign up with them again.

I've called the WW 800 number (and written the help line), and I'm told the deal is over and it was for January 2018. Well, today is January 22nd, and it should still be valid. There are no senior citizen discounts, and I am on a fixed income. If I sign up for the 3 month plan, the price doubles at the end of the term. The 6 month plan is what I can afford, and since I can't get it, it's no WW for me. A lose-lose situation. Angry. If you're not going to honor the price, take that info off the internet!

I rejoined Weight Watchers in June 2017 and have experienced many of the versions they have offered over the many years of my weight loss war. I firmly believe that SmartPoints finally hit the nail on the head... for me anyway. It provided a structure to limit my sugar intake while leaving me enough wiggle room to feel like I was living a normal life. I was eating SMART for the first time in my adult life. I lost over 20 pounds without feeling deprived for one moment and felt healthier than I had in decades.

This FreeStyle concoction (a Frankenstein hybrid of SimplyFilling and SmartPoints) has thrown a serious wrench into what was a satisfying journey. It’s supposed to be “freeing” but I feel more restricted than ever. I’ve given it a good try, but the weight is creeping back on. By taking away points to encourage “healthier” eating, we’re forced into a more restrictive food plan of chicken, eggs, legumes and fish. The legumes are what were contributing to my gain so cutting those out leave me with an unsustainable diet. My main gripe is that I had no say in the matter. If I’d wanted to do Simply Filling, I would’ve. I used to preach the SmartPoint sermon to anyone who threw a compliment my way. Now I have to tell everyone to think twice before joining... it’s just another diet.

I signed up about two years ago after having a heart issue. I struggled for a while due to personal stress but found my groove. I was down 45 lbs, SmartPoints worked for me. I was never hungry, I was able to plan for special occasions and, most importantly, my cardiologist said my cholesterol was back in normal range. Then they switched the Freestyle. After reading the material and food lists, I knew this was not going to work for me. I had nine less daily points and, since I eat very few of the 200 zero point foods, I was hungry all the time, something that never happened on SmartPoints. I contacted WW thru their Chat on their app and got nothing but condescension and finally a blatant lie: a rep named Edith told me if I cancelled and restarted the app, I could go back to SmartPoints.

I screenshot that, since I knew it sadly wasn’t true, and called WW. They said their rep made a mistake but then suggested I switch my points on the tracker back to my old points by pretending to be on maintenance and breastfeeding (!). This meant I could no longer use the tracker accurately. I suggested that WW make both plans available, they said no. I pay $44.95 a month and I feel like I’m wasting my money. I still have weight to lose, and I like the accountability of weekly weigh ins and meetings, so I would like to stay with WW, but I don’t think I can justify paying that much every month for no support.

I feel WW is ignoring the needs of their established members in order to draw in a new base with what is more of a fad diet than the lifestyle it used to be. It used to be all about portion control and being mindful of what you ate. Freestyle encourages you not to weigh and measure 200 foods, the complete opposite of what worked successfully before. Btw, any attempt to speak to WW customer service results in someone trying to talk me into trying again, give it a chance, or assuring me that they know what they’re doing. I know what I’m doing too, and it’s not Freestyle.

Although I'm an exceptional cook, boneless skinless chicken is one of the most boring foods you can eat and at plus 60 I limit my egg consumption to keep my cholesterol down. I loved the old plan because I could eat what I wanted in moderation. On this plan, while hitting my point goal, I was calculating my calories and several days, I was under 1200 calories. You don't lose weight eating less than 1200 calories. In fact, your body goes into starvation mode and causes you to retain weight. I understand that you are to make choices that are from the 0 point list, however, as a busy working professional, I am unable to eat plain fish, chicken, and eggs all day. The new Freestyle is nothing but a modified Atkins high protein diet. You may be able to stick to it for a while but a lifestyle it isn't. (Ironic, since WW always stated that their program is a lifestyle and not a diet.) If you don't like poultry, fish and beans, you're pretty much out of luck. With only 23 points a day for other types of foods you'll run out of points early in the day, feel like a failure and binge on everything in sight. You're really much better off with one of the free apps like Spark People or My Fitness Pal where you just count calories and can eat what you want within the constraints of 1200-1500 calories per day. My mother and I joined Weight Watchers together over a year ago. We have both successfully lost weight and have enjoyed the program immensely. Our favorite part about the WW experience was the flexibility and not feeling like we were on a "diet". That has all changed with Freestyle. It has significantly reduced our options, taken away our choices and now we feel like we are on a restricted diet that we can no longer maintain. If you cannot eat or do not like the new zero points foods you are out of luck. My daily points are now so low that I can no longer enjoy the foods I like while losing weight. Unlike Oprah, we do not like this new program. What were they thinking??? To us, this new program does not align with what WW's is all about. Or at least what it used to be all about. What was once a 5 star program with Smart Points is now 1 star. Most likely we will end up leaving WW as it no longer works for us and we are not happy about it.

What a HUGE negative the surprise Freestyle program is for me - I joined and have stuck with WW because of the sense of self-control, discipline and power it gave me over my eating habits, combined with a healthy, balanced diet. The Freestyle program is a change I didn't ask for, came as a surprise and undermines the entire sense of control and self-discipline I had on the original program. In addition to taking away 7 points per day, it promotes a cheater's mentality of "ooh, free food" - that's the Opposite of what I had learned and benefited from in the original WW program.

Counting points, choosing the right foods, monitoring my emotional vs hunger driven eating habits all made WW work for me. I had lost 30 lbs on the original program and have now gained back 5 'freestyle' lbs. What was the motivation for this change? Was WW losing against Nutrisystem or other programs? This seems like a marketing ploy to get new members versus an attempt to improve a program that already worked so well for so many people. I haven’t decided yet if I'll continue as a member.

I am a lifetime member since 2003 having lost 42 pounds and finally finding a program that worked. Through the years I had mastered the original smart points program and never missed an opportunity to share my positive experience with anyone who asked. When freestyle was introduced I had serious reservations which I expressed at the meeting only to be asked to just try it. After my first week, I did lose but was already feeling I satisfied with all the free proteins. Common sense told me as an overeater that nothing is FREE. I felt hunger for the first time as a weight watcher. I don't regularly eat beans or legumes for dietary reasons and I ate so many eggs and chicken breasts that the mere thought of them made me nauseous. For the first time in 15 years, I am seriously thinking of moving on.

Attending the meeting only added to those feelings, especially when so many members sitting at the meeting told me they were not doing the new program. If that is true can one still assume this new program is better. As a weight watcher who does pay when I am over my goal, I question why we do not have a choice. The ads running on tv claim extraordinary loses. Just how long before the official December 4, 2017 roll out did these participants start? How soon after the December, 2016 program was Weight Watchers changing the program again. Even lifetime members rolled out money for their newest calculator, recipe books, companion guides to find them of little to no value as they change their programs. Weight Watchers was always my way of life to eat healthy but now I am starting to think perhaps it's just a money making business.

When I joined Weight Watchers I was told that I could cancel anytime during the first month and not be charged for the next month. I called to cancel 5 days before the next month and was informed that I had been charged for the second month sixteen days into the first month. When I remarked that this was different from what I had been told, unfair, and possibly illegal, the agent replied that this was how it was done, and she was sorry that I misunderstood. This is fraudulent business practice. Watch out for the very fine print and if you realize you will cancel, do it within 16 days.

I gained 5 pounds and struggle to work the plan with the new rules. I would like the option to use the old plan without having to track manually. Is this possible. The leaders at our meetings do not have answers and are not supportive of any negatives on Freestyle conversations. They are a big disappointment to many of us in the room. I am considering quitting WW because of the lack of support. The old program worked and I would like to be on it again.

I tried to cancel my account 5 times and each time it wasn't actually cancelled and I received "cancelation fees". I finally was able to get them to refund some of my money but it won't be coming through for 7-10 business days. It was a huge waste of my time and I'm not getting all of my money back... Also if you cancel keep your cancelation number. My account randomly started up and started charging me again and then I asked for my money to be refunded they told me because I couldn't remember my cancelation number from six months ago they wouldn't refund my money.

Re-joined Weight Watchers after having some success with Smart Points a while back. Now on the Freestyle program which is anything but free! The program boasts that all new zero point foods were added but in reality, you lose daily points. Those points used to be yours to use however you liked. Now, it seems if you eat anything that isn't zero points, the point values are very high. It's a high protein, low carb diet and I know that's not for me. Since I signed up for the 6 month commitment, I either have to stick with it or pay $40 to cancel early (I signed up two days ago so 2 days will cost me $40?!?). Weight Watchers, you should either let customers choose to stay on Smart Points or allow us to cancel with less than 2 weeks in without penalty when we discover the new program isn't for us.

I have been an on again off again member with WW since I was diagnosed with Diabetes at the age of 12. The program back in 2003 really didn't work for me and I quit, it had you paying points for fruits and veggies and taught me nothing about being healthy. Then comes along the Smart Points and IT CHANGED MY LIFE. It was the holy grail for me. I lost 30 lbs and was half way to my goal. It was teaching me to make better choices and focus more on fruits and veggies and protein if I wanted to stay within my goal.

It also gave me the flexibility to work it into my life, the way it was. I am a commuter and admittedly eat breakfast out every weekday, but on Smart Points that was OK. If I wanted to have a full HUGE breakfast, I could and I just compensated on the other end of the day. It was fantastic and worked perfectly for my lifestyle. They preached that this was for anyone and that it was a lifestyle change but you could still eat anything you wanted. Which was dead on true. I was getting 29 SP's on this system.

Now enter Freestyle. WAY more things are zero points. This is fantastic... BUT they dropped my daily allowance to 21 points. I've been tracking my points daily on this system now for about 2 weeks and I can't for the life of me figure out how I can work this plan into my lifestyle. I have had to quit eating breakfast out and only allow myself a salad for lunch and I still go over on a daily basis and I am ALWAYS hungry.

Freestyle feels more like a diet and less like I can actually do long term. I just end up frustrated at the end of the day and feel like I am depriving myself of anything and everything. I am admittedly a picky eater. I was always amazed that the Smart Points system worked so well for me but it really gave me the flexibility to be myself and still succeed. I feel like on the Freestyle program I can't do that and my likelihood of success has plummeted and it makes me sad. I plan to go back to allowing myself the 29 points per day even if it says I'm going over, mentally and physically I think this is the only way I can succeed and make this a lifestyle I'm willing to live.

I have always been able to go in and buy the WW books and Starter Kit. I wanted to join WW online but since I can't find any REAL info on the new plan (yes, ANOTHER) new plan, I thought I would go ahead and get the material needed. Well guess what. You are no longer allowed to buy the material unless you are a member. Say what? So for me to pay 35.00 dollars or so to see if this will work for me I have to join and pay at least 45 to spend 35. Way to go WW. Nothing like squeezing every buck possible out of a person. You are no longer about helping people lose weight. It is all about the money. But has been for a while hasn't it.

Updated on 01/17/2018: Well, I actually was able to join online for 19.99. I then went to get the material so I could look into the new program. I was given pamphlets (which are given in meeting for free) and then told they no longer have the books. Why was I not told that the first time I requested to buy the books. Instead of saying, "We no longer do the books," they just said "oh you have to be a member." Well after looking at the new program I canceled. Wasn't and isn't worth it.

I joined Weight Watchers online only back in March 2017. Since that time I have lost 75 lb on a plan that really worked for me! I could eat a variety of foods and never felt restricted. Then along came Freestyle and everything has changed. I have digestive issues & IBS - this prevents me from eating a lot of the free foods (especially beans) that are on the program. I firmly believe what my nutritionist told me - "everything in moderation", but this plan stresses high protein, low carbs. I'm concerned about its effect long-term. Been trying to follow since its inception 1 month ago, and have really been struggling.

Freestyle supporters say it's great because you don't have to track as much... the tracking is what kept me accountable! This reminds me of when I was on WW many years ago - there was a choice of 2 plans (one with more tracking and one with less), but at least there was a choice! I'm trying to work the plan by using my 23 points (used to be 30) and then just adding the extra to get to 30. But it's more time consuming and I find I'm not tracking everything as I did before. This "Free"style program is anything but that! WW should give participants a choice of plans to truly fit their needs. I know I'm not alone in feeling this way.

I joined WW in 2017, originally just for 3 months, and lost over 45 pounds EASILY all while eating a wide variety of healthy foods and some treats in moderation. I had just turned 50, developed some weight-based health issues & went kicking & screaming into WW out of necessity - only to find it was the best thing that could have happened to me and the most natural, easy change I have ever made. It was so wonderful that my husband joined with me, and we both renewed our memberships and extended to six more months, and I was a cheerleader for WW and encouraged several of my friends to enroll too.

I was originally so reluctant to start WW because I remember the 70's style WW where it seemed the dieters were being punished for letting themselves get overweight, and were forced to eat their shame by gorging on mounds of nasty tuna fish & lettuce. Well, 2017's version of Smart Points allowed me to eat anything in moderation, and I had 30 points a day and 35 extra each week to use as I wanted. I usually didn't even use all my bonus points, and I NEVER - NOT ONCE - felt hungry or deprived or like I was being punished. I lost 42 pounds in about 6 months of dieting, and took off tracking points for the busy holidays (still eating the same healthy, maintainable way) and amazingly lost another 3 pounds without even trying!

New Year rolled around and I logged in to the tracking app to lose my final 20 pounds, and found the entire system had been changed on me!!! I saw that several foods are now zero points, but I have 7 less points per day & not as many extra points either, so all the points count more! I decided to just give it a shot. In a week of tracking I've gained 2 pounds and have been hungry every day. I was very upset to find that after many of my usual breakfast, lunch & snacks, which fit into my points last year with no problem, I have almost no points for a satisfying dinner, or if I plan to have a nice dinner I have to skip breakfast or lunch. So, I've been skipping meals to fit into my points. Healthy, right?

I do not live somewhere that good seafood is a viable option, abhor tuna and eggs, and a person can only eat beans, chicken and turkey for so long - that is just NOT a sustainable way of eating. It's a DIET, which is what WW claimed to not be anymore, and wasn't until this stupid Freestyle debacle. It honestly feels like WW has pulled a bait and switch on me, as THIS IS NOT THE FANTASTIC PROGRAM I RENEWED MY MEMBERSHIP FOR!!! Certainly there is a way they can engineer for an option of either Freestyle OR The original Smart Points, since it seems an awful lot of people are having the same experience.

It did occur to me that maybe the original Smart Points was too successful, and therefore going to cut into their bottom line since it was a very easy & do-able "lifestyle CHANGE" rather than a diet, and people would not wind up yo-yo-ing back into paying for the program. BTW, when I reached out to WW via FB to ask how I could revert to the 2017 version, I was advised to "just go on maintenance" if I don't like Freestyle. REALLY?? NOT HELPFUL WEIGHT WATCHERS!!!

It does not work for people that their job and life does not allow time for you to sit and eat until you are just satisfied or for stress eaters. Measuring your meals, especially protein and planning ahead and set a limit in how much you can eat is a lot more helpful to lose weight. If we were all so capable of eating until you are just satisfied we would not be in the need of joining Weight Watchers or for that matter any other plan. Weight Watchers has done wonders for both my wife and myself. We have tried several other weight loss programs with next to no luck but WW seemed to work well for us based on the fact that it taught us portion control and instilled in us a lifestyle change. This was key for our weight loss. The first time we joined Weight Watchers (2009) we lost 70 lbs collectively, fell off the bandwagon and we rejoined October 2017 and have since collectively lost 28 lbs. Based solely on this information I would have given 5 stars. Here is why I only gave 1 star: The new freestyle program does not work for us. As opposed to the old program we are hungry ALL of the time and we find ourselves snacking throughout the day. Neither of us like eggs and can't eat fish. We are so sick of chicken. I can hardly get it down and that really just leaves us with turkey and beans (and a few other things).

We are both emergency services workers and work night shifts so we have no choice but to eat out when it's 4am which leaves us with only a fast food option. Fast food isn't ideal but on the old program we were able to include these types of meals when needed with no issue. Now that I have 13 points less per day it becomes nearly impossible to stay within my daily and even weekly points some weeks. Since the rollout of the "freestyle" program I have begun to gain weight slowly. I wish WW would listen to the majority of the people on this forum, we need them to give us the option to move back to the smartpoints program.

I have been successful on Metabolic, another just like it that became Nutrisystem, done Paleo, tried Mediterranean, no counting, but a fixed menu with chickpea salads every other day for lunch. After successfully losing, life happens and the weight yoyo cycle starts again. I heard so much good about smart points. No real deprivation, no crazy foods, living normally, but learning portion control. I could have oatmeal, some nuts and oils as needed for health, but not be punished. Protein in moderation with an emphasis on fruit and vegetables. This was working with a successful loss of almost 20 pounds to my 30 goal. I have food allergies and sensitivities. This results in IBS and then I must be gentle to my gut. Also, with certain meds, foods are restricted.

When freestyle rolled out, I feel I am being punished for my allergies to beans, peas, and some fruits like bananas (used like a fat for many-my most severe allergy). I had found a wonderful way to eat in moderation, with variety and no cravings. Freestyle is my worst nightmare. 7 points gone and no real variety, just an old school diet of poultry, eggs (I am an egg gagger) and seafood. I have done this many times before and it works quickly, but is not a long term solution. We need fats (my Dr. Wants me to increase healthy fats and more healthy grains) Lean protein is good, but in moderation, not all you can eat. I also bought cookbooks for the plan not knowing they would be obsolete in less than a month.

This program is very restrictive and I am feeling hungry all the time. I work a full time job and am a grandmother of 2, I try and prepare my food ahead of time, which I did with the 30 point program as well, but the points are too low. I had reached and maintained goal for over a year on SmartPoints. The old Points+ system allowed too much sugar and cost you points for veggies and fruit. After the first five pounds, it didn't work for me. Later on I tried again, and WW had introduced SmartPoints. What a difference. The SP system allowed less sugar (but not none) and took away the points for veggies and fruit. It still allowed for portion control. I lost 35 pounds and became lifetime. I was successful; I had a portion-controlled lifestyle eating plan that was satisfying, not a diet, and I felt I was set for the rest of my life. I still went to meetings for the motivation and camaraderie.

Then Freestyle happened. This new WW plan will only work if you have enough willpower to not overeat. Let's face it... if you eat too many calories, whether healthy calories or not, you're going to gain weight. If I had the willpower to not overeat, or was not a person who is constantly hungry, I wouldn't have needed WW to begin with. I relied on SmartPoints to give me portion control. After trying this new plan for a month, I've gained two pounds and have now gone back to Smart Points to regain goal and continue maintenance.

When WW switched from Points+ to SmartPoints, the recipe bloggers continued to list Points+ counts on the recipes they developed. But now that SmartPoints is gone, the bloggers are no longer giving Smart Points on their recipes. Why? Has WW gotten to them somehow? I asked one of them why they were no longer listing SP counts and got a non-answer. And was told to "move on"!

WW claims their research says people won't binge on meat, eggs, beans, yogurt and corn. Who says you won't overeat those things, especially when they've taken daily points away from you? Hunger is hunger. I don't know where they got that idea. And now there are fewer points for the fun things in your life to eat; the things that make an eating lifestyle interesting and not depressing.

I believe this "research" is more about a marketing ploy than anything else. Freestyle feels more like Atkins than a balanced plan that includes all foods in sufficient quantity to help you feel satisfied and not deprived. And I agree with the reviewer above who developed digestion problems. Protein stays with you, yes, but it can also cause constipation and other digestive problems. I want to see Oprah lose weight on Freestyle! I still have everything I need for reverting to SmartPoints, and that is my plan. As for the bloggers' recipes, I will just have to go the extra steps to add back in the new 0 point foods at the old SP count. But it will be a hassle, and I'm confused as to why they won't continue to list SP like they did Points+.

I have always told people the best program out there is Weight Watchers. It teaches portion control and shows you can eat what you like but still lose weight and make choices for yourself. I Have lost 45 pounds and was happy. I was not a big fan of Smart Points as found when you have zero point foods you don’t lose and it started forcing you to eat less carbs by attaching high points. I mean I couldn’t even drink orange juice without giving up a ton of points. That being said I still lost weight although I was hungry most of the time. Now they have Freestyle which is awful. It is a low carb program. I was on it for 2 weeks and felt like I was starving. I didn’t lose weight and now am off of it as I felt unwell. They are going against the very foundation they built the company on. There is no freedom as you are forced to eat foods that are zero points.

If you eat all your points and zero foods you don’t lose weight. We have been taught calories in calories out is how we lose weight along with activity and guess what? They were right. The original Point systems were based around this concept so how is it now suppose to work with all these zero points? This is not really new. They are just forcing people to do the core program. At least when that program was active you had a choice where now there is none. We are doing this in office and about half the people have dropped off including myself. People who were losing weight are maintaining it. There is an awful lot of frustration. The best program they had was the original. You counted everything and made your own choices. I lost a lot of weight doing that.

Years have gone on and with the changes has made it more difficult. The very least they should do is offer the points program and freestyle and actually give people a choice of what works for them. They will be losing a lot of customers the way they are going. I have seen at least half of the class at work pull out so I know it’s not just me. I can no longer say it’s the best plan out there as it’s really no better than the other low carb plans and that makes me sad to say it. I hope down the road it changes and I can rejoin. For now I will look for a program that is not so restrictive.

I have to start with saying that I have been on Weight Watchers through various incarnations. PointsPlus was by far my most successful followed by SmartPoints. That being said, I have been nothing but frustrated by Freestyle. This new plan reminds me of Flex/Core. That was when I stepped away from WW. I find this new plan too restrictive and makes the assumption that everyone has time to meal prep for days ahead. I have 3 kids in 3 schools, after school activities, a husband who is on an opposite shift and I also work full time. Meal prepping for me is unreasonable at this stage in my life.

I work on a day to day basis. I also don't have time to be cooking chicken and eggs every day. Yes, I can make a dozen hard boiled egg but if I have to eat one more egg I’m going to turn into a chicken. I don't see myself coming around to this very restrictive program. My monthly membership is up on January 4th 2018 and I will not be rejoining. Breaking up is hard to do WW but you don't complete me anymore. :(

I use online support as well as meetings. I joined Weight Watchers in October. I had previously been on the program and knew that it works if you apply yourself. I had lost more than 26 pounds, averaging 2 pounds a week. The program was working and did not feel like a diet at all. I was able to enjoy the foods I love in controlled amounts and lose weight. The plan abruptly changes to Freestyle and this is a strict diet. Everyone knows eating a diet of skinless chicken breast, fish and veggies will help with weight loss, but not being given a choice by lowering the daily point allowance is too restrictive. It will also makes maintenance an impossible job. I am paying for this plan and should be given a choice in the plan I choose to follow.

I have reached out to Weight Watchers through the app to see if there is a way to go back to the old plan and was told no. I spoke with my group leader and received the same response. This is less Freestyle and more forced dieting. I will continue to struggle with this plan until I find a suitable replacement. They are out there and they include apps and eating guidelines as well.

I prefer the old Weight Watchers program over the new one. I'll explain. On the old program you could eat what you wanted, but in limited quantities; you were encouraged to eat fruit and vegetables (which I did daily), however; on the new program, you MUST eat lots fruits, lean meats, and vegetables in order to have any sense of hunger relieved. To me, this is not a lifestyle, rather a diet. I did very well on the last program and I wish I was given a choice between the two programs. I understand that you can roll over points, a lot of free points, based on science, etc., but I know what works for me and my lifestyle. I have lost 71 pounds so far. (30 lbs on my own and 40 lbs on WW). I have tried different "diets" and I can tell you from my experience it's a lifestyle that works, not a diet for the duration. For me something making you to eat certain foods is not successful. Even with all the "free foods".

I'm very disappointed with the new program. I truly wish Weight Watchers would give us a choice between the two plans. I know I'm not a scientist, but I am a paying for that scientist and I'd like a choice to say what works for me, and so many others I've heard from. It doesn't feel like we have a choice at all in the matter. I'm hoping that my comment will actually count and I'm not given a pat answer from WW.

I joined Weight Watchers on Oct 23. I was loving the program, was successful, and happy. Asked for lots of cooking items for Christmas. Found lots of motivation and purpose in life - great experience. Freestyle was then introduced, and I was excited and confident. Until day 2, when I was hungry, had a headache, was constipated, nauseous, and low energy. Continued day 3-14, all of those symptoms. Research online shows that’s a common constellation of problems with too much protein and not enough fat.

I’ve posted on connect, tried to chat... Everybody tells me to just make freestyle work. It has made me physically ill - what am I supposed to do to make weight watchers work for me? You took away a successful program, made me sick, and offered no hope or suggestions how I can be successful again. And the sad part is that you know my symptoms are common and you didn’t plan for it...so I’d love some help. I’m so disappointed with the decision to roll out Freestyle right before the holidays. I’m in a tailspin, mainly because I don’t understand how eggs, chicken, beans, etc. can possibly be zero points. I have portion control issues, and the old program had many more controls in place. Now, if I want a slice of pizza, it basically blows the majority of my points for the day, thanks to the lowering of my daily points to account for the new zero point additions that I’m probably overeating! Why won’t you offer a plan choice? I want the old plan back. Willing to give Freestyle two weeks. If I gain, I’m going back to calorie counting using one of the free apps.

When I began on the program in October 2017. I was finally to the point I wanted to make a real change; I had been going to a weight loss clinic for diet pills but wanted something that wasn’t a get skinny quick scheme. I loved hearing success stories online and finally joined. It was instant love. I could eat what I wanted to but I was being taught self control over foods and accountability. I was losing weight and recommending the program to everyone who would listen.

Fast forward to last week the program changed and I am miserable. Twice this week I’ve felt so weak I’ve had to sit (in teaching this isn’t an option). I’ve been hungry and over felt like a failure because I can’t for the life of me stay on points. This program is restricting and feels impossible unless you eat chicken and vegetables. I didn’t need a $50 a month program to force me to eat low carb. I needed a plan to help me stay accountable to what I was eating.

I attempted to discuss these concerns with my leader and she treated me like I’d never had a vegetable in my life. I’m not anti vegetables, chicken and fish. I just don’t believe this program is truly sustainable, once people eat anything but low carb foods they will gain because of the restriction of this DIET. I thought I was making a lifestyle change but right now I’m doing nothing but dieting. Seriously want to quit the plan but I’m heartbroken because I thought I’d had finally found the right thing for me.

I joined to feel more in control of my eating and to focus on eating in a healthier way. I think Weight Watchers has helped me be successful with these by encouraging healthier choices that also stabilize my hunger and help me feel more in control. I am relatively new to the program and still learning how to make choices that will help me more with weight loss, but I feel I am off to a great start.

Easy to understand and use even if the first week is rough to stick to. It helps you control portions and watch what you eat. The nice part is you can still feel full just with healthier options. I did enjoy smart points over freestyle though.

Hi. I started WW in October 2017. I lost 8 lbs in one month. I’m happy about that. Tracking on my app was easy. However, I’m struggling with the new plan. I will continue to weight in etc. Perhaps I need more WW community support. I feel I’ve gained weight. I weigh in tomorrow morning. Holiday season is tricky while trying to eat within point range. Members should have a choice between the previous plan and current plan. I know a couple of women who are unhappy with new plan. Suggestion: allow members to have a choice of plan right for them. Thank you.

I had done this form of diet 5 years ago but what I hated it then was tracking the meals every single time. This time, the meal tracking is so much easier. The app is great and easy to follow. It has helped me to stay in track with the program. And now the FREESTYLE program is so satisfying, more meals to eat with zero points - and I can eat as much chicken breasts or seafood as I wish! What I don't like is I don't know how to bring up the meals that I have marked as FAVORITE on my mobile device. Once I mark a meal as favorite, then I don't know where I can find such meals for easy reference on my phone. Maybe one improvement is to find the favorites easier.

Most of the time I swear it's like she was following me around all week and knew exactly what I was doing. It sets me up for my weekend and keeps me on track, especially when weekends seem to be the hardest to control those urges.

My only thing I would want to see improved is the cost. I subscribed initially to the 3 month online/meetings for around $100 through and email that was sent to me by WW and would like to see a discount for anyone who would continue 3 more months. So not necessarily a monthly discount. Just only to those that want to continue for 3 months at a time. I believe the discount would keep people active longer and definitely retain customers whose issue is the fee. So instead of renewing for the $49.95 (which is my plan price), maybe I would get an email saying I see your three month membership is about to expire and would like to extend another 3 month membership to you at 20% off, or something like that.

It made me nervous standing in line because I didn’t know quite how it worked or if I was official. Because I had done the online plus and a meeting. I strongly suggest that the introduction to Weight Watchers happens before the meeting begins like the website says because otherwise you feel very insecure going into the meeting and really not knowing at all of what’s going on. I have lost weight twice before this, once by following the blood type diet and once by following a strict, low calorie diet. I lost 30 lbs with both of these, but the regimes were too challenging to continue forever. As soon as life threw me a curveball, I fell off the wagon because I couldn't concentrate on my diet and the life crisis at the same time. I have gained most of my weight back, and it's time to try again.

I decided to try WW, because a friend of mine told me it was easier to follow with her demanding lifestyle. I am a nursing supervisor, and work 10 hour days, so I don't have time for meal planning. But I am finding Freestyle to be a simple way to live. It encourages me to eat lots of lean proteins and fruits/veggies, and be aware of how many carbs and fats I am adding. If I want to be "bad" one day (or several days), I can dip into my weekly points, knowing that I won't lose weight quite as fast that week, but if I stay in my weekly points I at least won't gain. I think this is a program that I can follow long term!

My wife and I started using the app right before Thanksgiving this year. My background is I weighed 306 in 2008. At that time I used a program that really worked well. It was pre-made meals for every day but was expensive. It allowed me to change my eating habits and I lowered my body weight to around 215. I have floated around that number until this year. When I weighed myself for Weight Watchers I weighed 221, which is pretty normal for me. For me the winter months are the hardest. In Minnesota we are stuck inside and essentially I want to eat and sleep. To avoid that typical progression we felt WW was a good, inexpensive option to manage what we are eating.

Today was my weigh in day and I was down to 213. I am very pleased with the results. I am hoping to get to 200 in the January time frame. One critique would be the new point system. I feel it is a mistake to remove points from chicken and other items. For people to maintain it is important to understand how much you are eating. Removing the need to count points removes the need for people to measure. This may cause WW to lose it's robustness as a successful program. My 2 cents... Thanks.

However, with the new freestyle program, for the first time, I feel like I'm dieting and I'm hungry all of the time. I know the thought process being the freestyle program - it's meant to encourage healthier eating, but if we all ate chicken, eggs and veggies all the time, we wouldn't need to be on Weight Watchers. I think the older program helped me feel like I could actually have a life and enjoy food while making better choices, now I feel like there is no flexibility on the freestyle program.

I am a lifetime Weight Watchers member. I have always loved the freedom of being able to eat "whatever" I wanted to as long as I scanned the points value. VERY appealing to a busy mom. This new program is NOT what I signed up for. I do not eat HARDLY ANY of these so called "0" point foods and if you do WHO eats these items plain??? They were low in points to begin with. No option to keep old plan. I dropped 8 points a day on this new program and have the SAME POINT AS MY CO WORKER who weights 50 pounds less. I tried to cancel and because I agreed to a 12 month contract I was charged a 60$ cancellation fee. VERY disappointed Weight Watchers. This sounds like one of Oprah's unrealistic ideas of how people can live. VERY unsatisfied and I am glad many others are choosing to cancel as well!

I am 59 years old and have been in and out of a revolving door I created for myself with Weight Watchers since 1980. I achieved my goal weight and then some. Due to some stressful situations in life I stop attending meetings and did not complete the maintenance plan. I gained the weight I lost back and a number of extra pounds. That revolving door opened and I have been in and out of it for a number of years, never finding time for me but, always there for everyone else. Well I am back with a new attitude and a promise to make time for me and do this. I have not seen a hundred and anything pounds for over 10 years. I weighed in at 212.4 and a week later I weighed in at 208.4. Four pounds down. The journey continues for a positive change in my health and away from the blood pressure pills.

Thanksgiving came and I knew it would be a challenge, but I made it through with a gain of 0.6 pounds. My mind was made up that I was going to enjoy myself but be mindful of portion control. I sampled what I wanted and tried not to overdo it. This girl is not defeated. It’s a work in progress and I know there will be bumps in my road and understand that it is what I do after those bumps that counts. I have a positive mindset for success, despite being a caregiver for my father and facing other everyday challenges. The stress threw me off track to the point where I just didn’t care. I prayed for strength and did not give up. Finally I found some help which makes my load a little lighter and now I can take better care of me. It’s still not easy, but I have started to attend W/W meetings which are positive. Connect is an extra support of positive energy.

This is my third time joining WW over the past 30 years. Each of the first two times it was my own lack of confidence, conviction and dedication to following the program that led to not meeting any goals, and in reality not losing any recordable amount of weight at all. This time I am now in my fourth week of the program and I have lost 7.6 lbs. I am a different person now than I was even 5 years ago. I am more confident and accomplished in my personal and professional life. I credit my success thus far with my current happy state of life, which has placed me in a different mindset than I was in the past.

Today I am ready to succeed. The current program works, and I am excited for the introduction of the new program tomorrow. I credit WW with staying ahead of the curve by updating their program when they recognize that a change will benefit their members. And I applaud them for avoiding trendy diet tactics which, in the long run, will not help their members.

Having successfully lost 50lbs in 2010, I maintained my weight for several years before gaining in the past year and a half or so. I cancelled my membership in January due to the changes in the program, and difficulties with the app and the website. I rejoined on October 31 and yesterday learned they've changed the program AGAIN. The frequent program changes are difficult to confusing, make WW hard to follow, and the zero point system for certain foods, depending on what form they're eaten in, make no sense. I have friends and family members who will not use WW anymore because of the frequent changes to rules and points.

Having recently signed up for the online program after many years of being away, I am satisfied with the basic functionality of the online service but am not impressed with the Weight Watchers program itself, in comparison with the program of the past. It is simplistic in its approach but lacking in its robustness. Calculating points only with no guidance on water intake, being mindful of fruits & vegetables intake, or focusing on maximizing protein and fiber while minimizing saturated fats and carbohydrates seems narrow minded to me. Not all points are created equal; what you consume to get to those points will play a significant role in your weight loss journey and healthy lifestyle goals.

Not only does the new program lack these features, three weeks after ordering a 6 month subscription the program changed today, so I don't really feel like I'm am getting what I paid for, much less getting my money's worth. There are online apps, many which are free, which provide a better and more satisfying experience.

This try has been better than the others, mostly because I've been chronicling my journey on Facebook. Gives me more follow-through, as local groups don't meet at times that work for me and I'd rather not have a coach. Zoom, or whatever that other online program is burned me on having a coach. I'm doing this to re-establish a healthier diet. Losing weight is a nice side benefit, but the thought of getting fatty liver issues under control is more important. Support of family has been vital, and will continue to be. I don't recall having made it a full two months on WW before. We'll see how month three goes before I know with certainty that it's helping me with healthier eating habits.

I'm not happy and also disappointed with my results so far. I'm hungry all the time and skipping meals to say within points on the old system so 8 less points a day is not what I needed. It's noon and I have 4 points left to make it through the day which I assume won't happen. Today I'm set up for failure. Now with so many new zero point foods I may as well be on Adkins - at no cost. I would have canceled today but the cancellation charge was more than the monthly fee. Admittedly, I'm having a bad day and WW started it off on a very sour note. I hope your day is going better than mine.

I have generally been an overweight person. I have fluctuated throughout my life between healthy and overweight. I have found success in weight loss by counting calories. However, I tend to get obsessed with how many calories food has and looking at that over other more healthy aspects. I eventually end up not eating enough calories and the whole process is unsustainable. I lose weight but then I gain it all back, plus more usually. This time I decided to try Weight Watchers. It does not base its program on calories. It helps me to look at foods on a scale of how healthy they are as opposed to how many calories they have. I have just started this process and it seems to be working well so far.

I only have two complaints (and the reason my rating is four stars though I probably would suggest the program in the future). The first is that dairy is given so many points. I enjoy plain greek yogurt for breakfast and it has a lot of points because I don't feel that nonfat yogurt is as healthy as 2%. A cheese stick is also given a lot of points. This is my dairy for the day and I feel that it is unnecessarily penalized despite the fact that fat from dairy is not unhealthy when eaten in moderation. My second complaint is that diet food is given so much leeway. Diet soda is horrible for you but it is 0 points. Similarly "fat free" foods are low points but often are not as healthy for you as its regular version. I think the skew toward unhealthy diet food needs to be rethought seriously. I think it would much more in sync with the goal of eating healthily to really look at how healthy these diet foods are and re-rank them as appropriate.

The scan option makes it super easy to track any food item you can buy at the grocery store. The recipe builder can help you figure out how many points your home cooked meals are. I have lost over 40 lbs on Weight Watchers and didn’t feel deprived. I challenged myself to make recipes healthier and lower in points by swapping less healthy products for healthier options. I made it to Lifetime years ago, then thought I had it all figured out and stopped going to meetings. Very, very slowly, I gained it all back. So, I joined again about three years ago and made it back to lifetime again! I looked even better and felt even better than the first time! The changes they had made to their program made it work even better for me. I was the same goal weight, but I wore a smaller size and felt amazing.

But then I got laid off, and then we had a death in the family, and instead of looking to Connect for help, support, and inspiration, I spiraled and guess what? I GAINED IT ALL BACK again! So, I'm back again, and I am looking forward to any new changes, because I know IT WORKS! I'm losing, and tracking, and eating healthy and moving more... I hope to be back at goal/lifetime in about 3 months. Connect members provide so much inspiration and wonderful ideas too! I am not going to "QUIT" ever again! I am here to stay... because... I enjoy Weight Watchers because it is one of the least restrictive weight loss programs. You eat real food and you decide what foods are important to your journey. Weight Watchers definitely guides you to a healthy way of eating but also has the flexibility to enjoy life celebrations. You can treat yourself and stay on plan. Eating healthy and being healthy is the focus and not a number on the scale.

Well, have returned to Weight Watchers too many times... have been a lifetime member - the best thing I did 20+ years ago - and am really focused this enrollment. The leaders we have in Plattsburgh are most helpful, friendly and encouraging. And having subscribed to use the WW app, so, so easy to use and keeps one on track.

I love Weight Watchers because it allows me to be very flexible with my options. This is important, because I am a very social person and have to eat out an average of two days each week. It is also helpful, because I never feel deprived. I love the mobile app, with one exception. I think it would be very beneficial if you could sort the restaurant selections by points from low to high to help you make better choices. It is very time-consuming to scroll through so many entrees, sides, desserts, etc.

Well, let me start by saying I never believed in any weight loss plan, that is until I started my journey with Weight Watchers. Back in May an associate of mine joined and told me a little about the program, how points were assigned to foods, veggies and fruits were free etc... So I sort of followed the plan a little just by using her guidance and some common sense. Well lo and behold I lost 24 pounds between May and September. I then decided it was time to go ALL OUT! On 9/29 I joined WW, with a starting weight of 326 pounds and I never looked back. I found the program easy to follow, your choices of foods are endless and I was able to give up my beloved Pepsi in exchange for water and no cal drinks.

At my writing today 11/16 I am down to 295 pounds,(lost 31lbs) I have more energy than I have had in a long time, my joints don’t hurt as much as they used to (I suffer from RA and Fibromyalgia), and I eat what I like. This is NOT a diet, It is a new way of life for me and believe it or not, I’m actually enjoying myself for the first time in a LONG time! I am using both the online support and I attend meetings once a week which helps me be held accountable to someone other than myself. Thank you to everyone out there from the members on Connect who have been so inspirational and supportive to my leader Lisa in Toms River NJ and my meeting members, I would not be able to continue on this journey without all of your inspiration and support! I am looking forward to continuing my journey to my next goal and am looking even further into the future. WW, you have a new member for life!

Weight loss has been okay. Very concerned about the fact that you have group facilitators attempting to run CBT groups and they have no formal training. Tuesday night facilitator at Austin Bluffs and Academy is very nice but she is NOT a therapist. Not everyone has an eating disorder...some people like food, make bad choices, or need change in lifestyle. However, I have attended 8 years of college to become a therapist; weekly training is not how one learns behavior modification techniques or how to facilitate a group. These groups have become negative in dictum and teach very little about behavior change. I'm disappointed with Weight Watchers this time through.

"You don't need to lose weight!" That seemed to be the response when I tell people that I am a member of Weight Watchers On-line. I am 72 years old and have steadily put on 10 pounds in the last 10 years and while most of my clothing has fit, it's tight!! After watching a friend lose weight through WW, I decided to do it. Since starting on September 25th, I have lost 7.7 pounds. Clothing that I have not been able to wear in years, fits and is even a little too big.

Needless to say, I am hooked. I exercise 5 days a week and even ate "Chicken and Dumplings" last night which I know I can do now in "moderation" as long as I don't go down that road again. Thanks to more healthful options, I am more conscious of what I am actually putting in my mouth. I am a stress eater but I can truly say that this plan has my stress eating under control. Thank you Weight Watchers for helping me feel good about myself again!

It’s also great to eat out using the tips WW gives us and not gain any weight! Thanks for the tips along the way. I have 16 pounds to go.

The WW program is working for me. However, the app is not as good as other tracking apps. Many West Coast restaurants are missing, it's difficult to customize (no cheese or dressing), and trading out exercise points is not intuitive.

Hello: There have been many research studies showing that sugar is bad and that fruits, especially some, have a lot of sugar. Your point system giving fruits same point as vegetables is not good for clients as it can raise their blood sugar and H1Ac. I have been comparing your app with myfitnesspal and your app does not give accurate points considering sugar, carbohydrates and other foods.

I first joined WW in my twenties. I had been feeling tired and lethargic after eating. I had migraines. I was overweight. My aunt suggested WW. I became a member and like magic my headaches disappeared. I had lots of energy. I found out I was diabetic. But being a member started to control my diabetes. So come along with me on my journey to healthiness.

The program is definitely less judgemental and more friendly. More accepting that people aren’t perfect and life happens. I like the app, however my fitness pal is a little better and easier to use. They have a much better library of food to choose from. I also wish it was a little more forgiving of treat food.

The website is very helpful and loaded with recipes. I am enjoying the different kinds of food I can eat and still lose weight. When I first joined I received a call from a coach and they were helpful and friendly and gave me some great advice to get started. The weight loss is coming and I am very happy about that because I am more aware of what I am eating and what I can eat.
