In recent months, Walmart has expanded delivery services to consumers for early-morning and late-night hours.
Now, the retailer is expanding its delivery offerings once again – to midnight. The news means that shoppers can get deliveries from Walmart to their doors from 6:00 a.m. through 12:00 a.m.
“We’ve all been there. The workday is finally finished, dinner and the dishes are done, when suddenly it hits you: you don’t have a gift for tomorrow’s party, cookies for the school fundraiser, or, the ultimate nightmare, you’ve run out of your favorite coffee pods. And the clock won’t stop ticking,” Tom Ward, Walmart’s executive vice president, said in the company’s announcement for expanding to 10 p.m. delivery.
“Life doesn’t always happen on schedule, and Walmart understands that implicitly. That’s why we’re thrilled to offer Online Pickup and Delivery at over 4,000 stores nationwide and introduce our latest addition: late-night delivery.”
Ultra Late-Night Delivery
Walmart is dubbing this latest expansion as “Ultra Late-Night Delivery.” Shoppers must place their orders no later than 10:30 p.m. local time to ensure their orders are delivered by midnight.
What’s up for grabs? Just about everything in your local Walmart store, including:
Late night snacks: Ultra Late-Night Delivery service ensures customers can have their favorite treats delivered to the couch in no time.
Feeling Under the Weather: With Ultra Late-Night Delivery, sick-day essentials like medicine and chicken noodle soup can be quickly delivered.
Pet Supplies: Furry friends don't always follow the clock. Walmart delivers pet essentials like food, toys, or litter right to your door – even at midnight.
How it works
Ultra-Late Night Delivery will work the same way as any other express delivery options from Walmart’s mobile app or website. Shoppers will create their order, and then look at the available express delivery options in their area.
Typically, Walmart charges a $10 delivery fee for one-hour delivery, while three-hour delivery comes with a $5 delivery fee. However, for those with a Walmart+ membership, there is no delivery fee.
Whether you need something in an emergency, or you’re too lazy to leave the couch late at night, Walmart’s Ultra Late-Night Delivery can get you just about whatever you need by midnight.
