The moving experience. Part 1, was a little less than satisfactory. When the team arrived at our home and they were very upset and not happy with the amount of items needed to be moved, which was committed to and by the sales team and their office. Part 2, The team was several hours late arriving because they had another job to complete in South Miami before arriving to our house in Jacksonville. When they arrived, they were dropping boxes, sliding furniture across the new living room floor ripping, the floor. Unpacking was a disaster, some many valuables broken, TVs, items that are not replaceable. I'd give them a -Zero.

There needs to be zero star because that’s what this company deserves. Poor communication throughout from setting up the initial packing day to never responding to damaged articles. Absolutely disgusted With this company. I watched one of the movers drop an antique dresser and laugh about it as it rolled down a hill and he went and picked it up. That’s only one of several items damaged, including his custom-made sofa. He blamed it on the strap saying that it’s loose but will come back to form. Of course, it did not. Owner will not respond to text phone calls or emails. Stay away from this company!

Not even worth 1 star. What an awful experience for an already stressful event. I was so disappointed with the end result of my move. I overpaid for wasted time and I am out thousands of dollars from items that never made it off the truck into my house. When I was directed to reach out to Jay the owner about all the missing items I discovered the day of unpacking he was anything but friendly, understanding or professional about the situation. I did not believe my items were stolen but when the owner is so pathetically unprofessional what are you supposed to believe at that point? Electronics, jewelry, designer sunglasses all gone.
I had to follow up with Jay multiple times and got absolutely nowhere besides him sending a link for claims so "I wouldn't keep calling him". Because I have nothing better to do but call a moving company for my missing belongings on top of moving a home all alone? I am a single girl who wanted to trust that my move would be easy and semi stress free now I am dealing with having years and years of expensive and sentimental items *vanish*. Mind you I moved 10 minutes up the road not across the state. It took over an hour for 2 movers to break down my bed. I have put this same bed together and taken it a part on my own in less than 30 minutes. I did not want to be charged for yet another hour for them to put this back together and risk damaging so I told them to leave it and I'll deal with it myself, lovely.
As soon as they leave I noticed they left one of my bedroom doors off the hinge so I called them back and was charged for another half an hour for "misc" not to mention I have had to repaint over the new walls from where they originally tried to fit items through before deciding to just remove the door entirely. They were friendly but come on. I recommend you choose any other option from this company even if it is spending a little more money. It will be worth it in the long run and you won't have to deal with Jay if something goes wrong.

Father and Son's price was very very good and on moving day the packing of the truck went really well - the movers were patient and took their time and accommodated everything. The problem was with unpacking. First off they sent only two guys to unpack, there were two trucks (I had that much stuff). The first truck showed up mid-afternoon and that they unpacked. The second truck arrived around 6 in the evening and the two guys were overwhelmed - they worked until 1 in the morning.
Then the guys had no clue how to reassemble my furniture (they were NOT the same guys that disassembled so they had no idea how to reassemble) - the biggest casualties were my wall unit, my sofas, my file cabinets. After they left I had to go thru and reassemble everything myself. For the wall unit I called the sales guy Mike ** for help who gave me the owner's number but the latter NEVER RETURNED MY CALL. I would not use these guys ever again - the money I saved using them was not worth the hassle of reassembling my furniture myself. The workers worked really hard but now I see how F&S charged me a great price - by skimping on the labor and trucks.

I paid to have them pack and store my entire house in air conditioned storage. Shortly after they got my goods they announced that they had sold their business to another party. When my goods were delivered, they were clearly not stored in an air conditioned facility. They lost much of the goods and many were damaged or totally destroyed. They are worst and anyone who uses them - BEWARE.

Yesterday I asked for a moving today from a property to a storage between 8-9 AM; the driver called me before 8 and I told him that they needed 2 people. To make the reservation they asked me yesterday to pay $50.00. I was not going to be at the unit, but yes another person. When I called him around 11.30 he told me that nobody had come and he was trying to get in touch with the Co. I called the driver and he told me that his supervisor told him to go first to another place. I called the Co and they told me that they were very sorry for the delay and were trying to send another person. I cancelled the service, sent them an email and didn't get any answer.

Hired in June 2021 to pack, move, and store our home’s furnishings. Then to remove from their storage and finally deliver and unpack to our new address in Sept 2021. Original crew was fantastic! 2nd crew was less!! After finding several things missing or broken we contacted owner Jay several times re: missing items; his reply was “he would check warehouse to see if he could find our things.” He never called back!! We called the many numbers for them and only were able to leave messages; no return calls. We left several messages for the sales rep Meike ** also. We paid the $600 for insurance and that was part of our contract. We tried emailing and following instructions to file a claim. They had us repeat the claim filing 4 times. We told them our loss was approximately $5-6,000. with. $1000 deductible.
Finally after several months we received an email stating that our settlement for our losses would be paid for $60. That’s right. $60 US Dollars!!! We’ve tried numerous times to connect with them directly, via an attorney, and even filed a complaint with the BBB. They never responded to any of us!! We obviously did not agree to their $60. settlement. Very frustrated and not sure if next steps should be to state licensing boards or state insurance boards. Can you help.

DO NOT USE FATHER AND SON...They dented or scratched most of the big pieces of furniture. The lead guy told me to call the office tomorrow and they would send a man who did their touch ups. This was a guy whom I'd actually requested. I knew him from my prior move. Much to my dissatisfaction and dismay, I was hurt and mortified to learn it was a blatant lie when I called the office the next day and spoke to the owner. We were devastated and hired a man on our own. The owner, in an effort to rectify, sent me $125. It cost me $400.

I was recommended by my contractor to use Father and Son Moving and Storage because I had a large expensive wall unit to move. I got an estimate and hired Father and Son Moving and Storage because the owner assured me they would be able to move the wall unit. When the movers arrived they told me they could not move the wall unit, it was too large. I insisted they had to move the unit, it was moving day! They took the unit apart and damaged it beyond repair. Ripped pieces apart by not fully unscrewing and broke one of the doors in half. The $8000 wall unit went in the garbage. Additionally, they did not wrap any of my furniture in blankets because it was a local move. They broke a dining room chair and dented the top of a dresser. Their insurance company paid us $79. Do not use them.

The two gentlemen that arrived at our house recently to move us out and then over to the next town were very attentive, friendly, speedy, and careful. They also did an excellent job on the other end moving us into our new place. They placed each item as directed while taking pride in their job. They wore protective masks and complied with keeping appropriate distances at all times. I would highly recommend this moving company!!

This company has a license to steal!! The owners are suave. They charm you like your they are your friend...then they take out your eyeballs! The owners, Anthony & Sal are smooth talking wise guys..They lied about everything form start to finish. The charges for travel from Newark to my home never discussed, the up charges after 8 hours, never revealed, the fact that I scheduled my closing around his so called best crew?
This crew took over 12 hours to empty my house with 7 guys!!! They had no moving straps, small dollies that a consumer would have, did not take out draws to lighten loads. Took 7 guys 45 minutes to move a mattress!! They broke my desk, crushed my chandelier, everything is damaged, dining room table, lost the parts to put together one of my beds, broke damaged plants, lost items. The list goes on and on!! Hijacked my stuff..drove away at 3 am with two trucks full of my furniture...left me in my new house with no beds, nothing put together!!! I have no resolution other than to live with my broken & missing stuff..Worst 78 hours of my life!!! Do not let these people move you under any circumstances!!!

I had a last minute booking. They charged from point of last move to our home. Bonded and license not sure about that. Looked like people that crawled off a Ditch. The lead Person try to take up 45 minutes of the billing time to sign the agreement which his pad did not work. The lead Guy then called the owner and complained about our agreement of moving our household goods. They totally unorganized the entire order of what goes where damaged the woodwork. The entire time 45 mins later the Lead guy orders the truck emptied as the agreement couldn't be signed.
They put the items in the garage and refused to move anything else. Here's the best part. After the total ordeal they ask to use the bathroom and I said "NO" then went to ask the other person. I owner then said he would return our down payment which I doubt I will see. The personal unprofessional and at the best scooping out the items in the house. Report all of Father & Son problems to the Attorney General in Kansas and shut this fraudulent business down. Total reports. If I could put 0 stars I would. This company destroyed my life. They moved me after Christmas 2018. They lost some of my things but material things I can replace. But the 3 huge storage containers of my children's childhood photos were lost. All because they were in a rush to go to the next job. Unloaded my stuff into the garage, didn't set anything up at all. And above all lost photos I cant ever replace back. I cant rewind their childhood back again. Years of school photos, family photos (the company that did the family photos is no longer in business). My children's 1st photos coming home from the hospital. Dozens of memory cards with photos on them. I am destroyed and my heart is broken. And this will forever haunt me knowing I trusted these people. Paid them a small fortune and lost the only thing that I possess that ever mattered.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! We did not even make it as far as the move. Mr. Jon ** came to our home to give us a quote. We gave him a $50 deposit and signed a contract. I called two days later to ask him a few questions concerning the reviews I had seen. I was yelled at and told him that is the way he does business, and then he told me he was canceling my move. And not to bother him again! Trust me, I will never bother him again. CUSTOMER BEWARE!

This has been the worst experience. From the pickup date, it has now been over three weeks and I have not had the delivery yet. After the first week, I was told that my things were still in their warehouse. After two weeks, I was told the truck was in Maryland with a flat tire (lame excuse--no one in their right mind tries that excuse). Then I was told "oh no, not 4 days from the pickup but 14 from the estimated delivery date." But wait, it gets worse. I got a call "we are delivering in 1 hour." Then another call saying "the truck can't fit into the complex and it will be another $2000 for a shuttle truck-- CASH ONLY."
Today the condominium guard said that the truck never showed up yesterday. I called the driver and he just said, "Well, I looked at a map and didn't think it could fit. And I want cash only." A $4500 quote turned into $11,000 and nothing has shown up yet. And what's with the "CASH only"? I have never been so thoroughly disgusted with a company as I am with those people. Even the movers who packed up had the audacity to ask for a tip. Unprofessional, unreliable, untruthful.

My experience has been a complete horror. Reading all these reviews on Father and Son has made me really angry. I moved from Brooklyn New York to Naugatuck CT. I was quoted a price 2600 with a cash deposit before they left. When they arrived they told my boyfriend it was 250 more because of traffic. We explained that was my move we settled on this price. They told us we aren’t unloading till they get it. They were gone for hours. We called the owner. He told me I would have to pay for storage. He would need the money. I’m borrowed the 250 and was told what to write on a piece of paper if I want my things back.
I signed because my husband died. They were all my memories. They brought it all in. Most was banged, scratched. I was just happy to get my things back. This was three years ago. I never put numbers on the boxes. When they leave for hours they take boxes off the truck. There is nothing I could do about this. We need to report their tactics. Most of my things are gone years later but was looking for things you don’t know. I can’t do anything about this now. They draw you in with a good price then change it then leave for a few hours and take your things. Don’t use them.

I received 3 quotes from three different moving companies one being Father & Son Moving. To try and keep costs down I decided to go with them. The original quote was $640 with $50 upfront. They were supposed to be at my house between 9 and 10 a.m. When they weren't here by 10 I decided to call the company I was told by Brian. Oops, they had an issue with traffic. They are running a little late. They will be there within the hour. I just got off the phone and spoke to a different gentleman who then told me they were still 20 to 30 minutes out. Now mind you they never called me to tell me they were running late. I had to call them.
I have my cable company meeting me at my new location at 2 p.m. They are very prompt. Stay away from this company. I would not hire them again. It is now 11 and they're still not here. They should have been here at least an hour ago. If you like to chase people down and moving day by all means hire them but otherwise this is a company that I would not recommend.

So you need to move but you require professional help. You call around and get quotes and a feeling for who best suits the job for you. At Father and Son Moving and Storage, you WILL receive quality customer care service over the phone. John ** will personally see to it that he comes across as someone that cares and listens. His supervisor Keith will even back up his ability to give you job number one A-1 service. Kristen will follow right behind them letting you feel like you have made the right choice! At this point you will never think that you are dealing with money hungry thieves or deceitful liars-but you are!
Once the moving day arrives you get the sensation that everything will go smooth. Then, three angry looking gentlemen that refuse to speak the English language, arrive and grab your stuff and pile it on a rented, random truck (you would expect to see advertising signage that proudly represents the company you hire and not some Penske rental truck). I requested once my belongings were loaded onto the truck that the movers follow me. They agreed and got in the truck to await departure. I walked in the house to get my keys and did not see them until they arrived at the destination that was 20 minutes away, 2 hours later.
The unloading began and these three professionals became turtles that couldn’t lift anything. I assisted with the whole move and in the end, they demanded $300 over the estimate plus individual tips per mover!!! But my favorite part, was contacting the ever so loving John **, Keith his boss and the company mistress Kristen. Not one callback, not one followup to ask about customer satisfaction not one care in the world. nce those thieves and liars got their money. Hey Father and Son Moving company, why don’t you relocate to North Korea-you and the country’s leader are 2 peas in a pod. Never again will my money go to support their foreign labor program or their ability to steal from people.

I have had a horrible experience with Father & Son movers out of Billerica. I have had the same experience as the others on this site. On May 17th, they arrived 4 hours late. They said there was an emergency at 6 am with a closing and needed to pack someone up right away and that is why they were late. They called several times saying they would show up and then didn't until 11. They were not even done with my move until 10 pm!!! I sold my house and was moving into a hotel for 35 days with my two girls ages 10 and 6. I had to leave at 7 pm to get my girls to hotel, unpack and put them to bed for school the next day. I left the movers with my neighbors to lock up my house around 7.
I get a call a week later. They said my stuff would not all fit into my storage unit in Northboro MA, that I had rented. I had checked with manager at storage location and she said a 3 bedroom house would fit. I told her I had sold my dining room, kitchen table, sunroom furniture, grill, deck furniture, my 10 year old's furniture and a huge leather couch. She said it would definitely fit then. Anyway, the receptionist called me and told me they had been calling for a week. I said "No you haven't. As you have had my cell and email for months and no one has called me." I found out a week later that half my stuff was in Northboro and half at their facility in Billerica MA an hour away... So convenient for me.
They only accepted cash when I left for hotel, which I paid $2400 for the first part of my move from my house to the storage facility in Northboro. Charged me another $600 for the storage facility and labor in Billerica because my stuff didn't fit into unit in Northboro and took them until 10 pm to finish work. I am in a hotel for 35 days between home closings. I went to check on my stuff in Northboro today and it was just thrown into the storage unit. My $3000 dollar brand new mattress is ruined as it was in the middle of the unit and is bowing out with no support whatsoever. I have no clue what my stuff looks like in Billerica at their facility. When I called today so upset I was crying. The woman told me it was my fault because I needed to get to the hotel and put my kids to bed for school the next day. It was my fault I wasn't standing there watching them move my stuff into the storage unit at 10 pm at night.
There was a box of glass items just thrown in a box with no paper or bubble wrap or anything. I sent the woman the picture and she said that was my fault because I didn't ask the movers to wrap it. They left my college diploma hanging on the wall in my house. I had the manager at the storage facility look at how they packed it and she said she had never seen anything packed liked this before. She said my stuff was probably all ruined especially the mattress which I took pics of as it was on top of my treadmill and in the middle of the storage unit totally unsupported.
These people are so nice over the phone and in person and are evil once something goes wrong that you discover. They tell you that everything is your fault and have their excuses ready. I am so scared of what I am going to find when I open all of my boxes in both storage facilities. I sent a very long complaint to them today and have not heard a word. I don't want them to move me to my new location for the second part of my move. I want to hire another mover to get my things out of storage. If anyone has any advice that would be greatly appreciated.

First of all, this company flat out lied over the phone about their rates and they denied it when I called back with the movers still in my house. They smoked during the move causing my old home and new home to smell like smoke. They caused significant damage to the property, banged up my wooden staircase real and bashed the walls with everything they brought down. The movers did not care about anything and appeared threatening when I did not want to pay the full amount. I have just started my correspondence with them regarding it, but they seem to not really care. If I have to I will just file a police report against them. The WORST COMPANY AND PEOPLE!!!

I'm still missing pieces from some lamps they dismantled. I have no idea what they did with the pieces and get this, to top it off one of their guys decided not to work on moving night. He Sat on my sofa and said he was not going to help any more. He even had the nerve to ask me if I could fix him dinner! Called Father And Son about two weeks ago to move a king bedroom set, 5 pieces, from Pinecrest to North Miami. Spoke to Michael ** who told me they charged a minimum of two hours up front, 89.00 an hour. Then I proceeded to ask "what would the cost be more or less." He told me "about $319" then I asked again "would it go over much more". He said "no that's about right" so I said "ok" and I booked them. No written contract just verbal over the phone. I called him again to confirm before the move on August 19 and the same number of 319 was told to me again.
Moving day came and they showed up at my door with furniture. I had gone to the bank to get money. When I came back my husband was at the house with the police because the movers said we had to pay $478 cash or they were leaving with furniture. I called Michael to see if I could do anything but his attitude was "you don't pay what I say we take the furniture." He said there was a fuel cost I was responsible for which I was never told. Guys showed up at 8 am at Pinecrest and left my house in North Miami at 11:15, 3 hrs and $478 later. What a crook that guy is. I feel bad for the guys who came. They were decent, hard working men. They told me this kind of thing happens very often because people are not told straight up what the charges are.
Please read reviews before you decide to use this company. They use unscrupulous business practices and they take advantage of people. They hold your furniture hostage so you had no other choice than to pay whatever they want. The guys that came were very nice and understanding but I know they work for this unscrupulous company and unfortunately have to do the dirty work for this Michael guy who hides behind a desk all day and insults people on the phone. The worst moving company ever. Please, please do not use this company. If you do you are being a desperate fool. Excuse my French, but I'm dead serious, these people are low lifes, Scumbags waiting to get your belongings on their trucks, with a fake estimate and then up the price on you three times more than what they quoted you over the phone and we all know that estimates aren't real. Yeah that Scumbag Ricki Russo, who calls himself Sal, is behind all the scams that's being done. Trust me, I know how they work. I worked for the scumbag. He get bums off the street to move you just to charge them money for a BS shirt and hat. To advertise his business you have to pay 40$ throw a jumper at you and charge you 75$ for it, force you to take a tool box when you already have tools, and threaten you not to come in without it, send amateurs on a job with professionals, kill the good workers and rob all shippers.
We need to put people like this beneath us. If we don't screw ourselves by using his company. They need to be shut down, so please, please, please if you're considering using this rip off company known as Father & Son please think it over before it really really cost you $$$. Isn't it bad enough we have to worry about moving? And then to make the matter worst, you put your trust in the hands of a crook.
Let me give you an example, although a lot of you may know already how he works, oops I forgot he's a lil **, he have his trained goons in the office to relay messages. Yes he's a **. He could never confront you face to face. He hides in that office like a lil girl, then he sends his lil crackhead worker louri, or either that clown name Mark, in all actuality his name should be Lurch from the Addams family to do his dirty work. He uses people names to hide behind when it comes to getting your pay. It's short an hour or two, knowing you did a job and knowing how many hours it took to complete the job. He screw up your money and hope you didn't write or keep up with hours so he can say bring in the discrepancy and if you can't remember it's like saying "Stick 'em up", without a gun. You're just robbed.
In fact Ricki Russo is so corrupted I seen him do his own mother and aunt dirty. He charged them as if that wasn't his family. So just imagine what he thinks about anyone else. I'm gonna continue to keep you guys posted!!! Not to mess with this company until the Scum rat ** close down. Only way you keep him in business is by supporting, him with your hard earned work money. Don't give him another nickel penny dime or dollars ever again.
The ** comes out Staten Island to Newark to try and slave all my brothers. Don't fall for the ** Italian scumbag piece of ** lies or scandals any more. I'm letting you know from a inside experience and trust me I know all the scams and underhanded things about him. My name is **. I'm still a mover, so if you need moving, I can be reached by email ** or hit me at **. Hopefully my comment can touch hundreds and thousands of people to not support this company which is a rip off. Don't be a victim!!
