Two female Paul Davis employees came to our home and packed up the room affected by mold. They also stole some valuable items. And Paul Davis management refused to help us get our stolen items back. Management basically said, ‘take us to court if you want to get your stuff back!’

They're harassing customers anytime. They lied to home insurance. They use the cheapest material but charge the original material in place. Fraud!!!!

I just purchased a home and there was a huge leak downstairs after I took a shower. This company came in and responded lightning fast and responded at a very inconvenient time of the night. They were at my house within two hours and the tech called me pretty much immediately. He diagnosed the issue over the phone so he could ensure he had all necessary equipment. He got the water up and removed any necessary wood or flooring that was damaged or contaminated due to sewer water. Everything was dried up and he came back to check multiple times, rearrange fan dehumidifiers, check for moisture, and rearrange equipment, before removing restoration gear. They stayed in touch with me throughout this whole process and kept me updated without me having to go looking for them. I will honestly say they put my mind at ease with their knowledge and professionalism.

It is in your best interest to avoid this company like the plague. We had a house fire in 2024 and our insurance assigned Paul Davis to our reconstruction. It took nearly 3 months for them to even start the process, and that was only due to constant pressure and begging on my part. Every step of the way I was lied to and misled about what was going on at my home and when I would be able to return to it. Our project manager, who was almost never available and certainly never present to manage our project, gave us move in dates on three separate occasions that were not met. He also rushed me into having things like carpet and appliances delivered making us believe they were being installed soon, only for them to be dumped on the trash heap he was storing in our garage for weeks.

After that 6 month long nightmare (it was initially projected to take 3 months) we moved back in and didn't hear from PDR for months. Almost 8 months later I receive intent to lien threats from them because they never sent me any bills. This company only cares about how many jobs they can take on and how many checks they can cash. They Do not care about your family or even the quality and efficiency of their work. If you choose to work with them or are forced to by insurance, you have my sincere condolences.

My business has recently become a partnership with Paul Davis of south central Wisconsin. I am very impressed with the amount of professionalism and the attention to detail that goes into each and every job that my business has been involved in with the excellent communication that the company's project manager's each take to make sure that the job is thoroughly understood and is laid out to me what needs to be done to each individual customer's satisfaction. This is a company that I personally take a great deal of pride working for. The talent that the company has on their staff makes it easy for my business to do our very best and to try and over-achieve each and every task that is gratefully handed over to my business.

January 28th was the day I signed the contract with Paul Davis to begin the process of working on my home. I was told I had to pay the full amount upfront before any work would begin on the house and that the work would take 3-4 days to complete because there was a crew available to get it knocked out and that I would not need a hotel for more than 3-4 days. The work did not begin on the house until Friday February the 14th after MULTIPLE pushbacks in start date and after my family had left the house because they were supposed to start on Tuesday February the 11th. I have rarely been updated on the status and updates on the house unless I directly call or contact someone to figure out what’s going on.

After several random pop ups at the house to check on the progress no furniture was covered, no carpet was covered, and no rooms NOT being worked on were blocked off and shielded from sheetrock dust and no proper ventilation or fans were placed to try and control the amount of dust in the home after being reassured that ventilation would be put in place to control Sheetrock particles from moving throughout the house. My home is now covered in Sheetrock dust to include my furniture and my kids' toys and personal items. I have said from the beginning that my children have asthma and are allergic to dust and now all of their stuff is covered in it and are not safe to return there.

I also had a trash can in my garage full of the old material that was pulled out of the house from the flood and now half that material is gone and I assume put back into my house because it looks as though damaged material was installed. Communication has been absolutely terrible and I’m trying to figure out how we went from a 4 day job to a 4 week job. The work that was done was not professional and there are multiple spots that still need to be fixed and I was told would be fixed. Carpet is still not installed in the downstairs bedroom, vanity is still not installed in the bathroom, and the transition piece from living room to kitchen still has not been installed.

Every time I ask to get an update, there is no update. This whole experience has been super unprofessional and after further reviewing Paul Davis on multiple platforms it seems like many others are having the same awful experience. Will NEVER use them for anything again and I’m very upset that me and my two small children have been put out of our home having to do a 40 minute commute 3x a day because there have been irresponsible workers in my house working for a month now with no completion date in sight.

I have requested professional cleaning be done for the entire home including carpet that also has mud stains from workers walking around on muddy shoes. Let me add that they messed up on their work and didn’t just fix it, they asked insurance for more money to fix an error on their end and said insurance didn’t wanna cover it so they weren’t fixing it. This company is a joke and I truly feel for anyone whose ever had to deal with this company!

My experience. Came day after basement flooded on a Saturday. 3 employees stayed no more than 45 minutes with no equipment stating we did all their work. They said that evening the fans would be coming. Two days later no fans showed up so I told them services no longer wanted as there was no service from them. A couple days after that truck shows up with fans. I stopped them says I fired the company. I normally won’t write a review but after getting a bill for work not done my insurance had to paid over $2000. All this was documented. Heck they tried to say in photos the equipment belonged to their workers, unfortunately everything was my personal equipment. This is just my interaction.

I called on Monday (President's Day), they responded they never heard from insurance company. Get in touch with insurance company and they are told they had "computer issues", and they would call me back immediately. Nothing.....

Tuesday afternoon I call THEM (Paul Davis-PD) and they said they were going to schedule a hygenist to evaluate the mold. I had to ask for a rapid response since it had been now 4 days with nothing. Hygienist calls and scheduled for 2/21 at 1200. A WEEK Later. Meanwhile Bravado Group (construction company) has communicated daily and said they would come out to see the damage. They were Johnny on the Spot and were in disbelief NOTHING had been done. No drying except them PD telling me to leave crawl space door open! Please don't use this company.

Don’t use this company ever. This company was sent to me by my insurance company as a provider they use. If your insurance company brings company name up do not even call them. They quoted me for a small roof repair, drywall and three locations of my house and minimal painting as a two day job. The first red flag should’ve been when their own employee showed up for the first day and already apologized for the delays as well as improved me of all the other complaints he had hear with the company and taking far too long to complete work. So clearly an ongoing problem. But I had already booked and paid them. Paul Davis did the remediation work in mid December, opening/cutting holes in my ceilings on 3 different room spanning all three levels of my home.

They found mold in one portion, took it out and left it in my house on the floor below the removal area for over two months. I had to call several times politely and then finally giving them an ultimatum. Then finally on Feb 17th the hazardous materials were taken out of my house. The reconstruction was not scheduled for another month after. They were supposed to start the reconstruction on Jan 7th. They didn’t show for multiple days on the first schedule and didn’t call to let me know that. I had to keep calling each day to ask if they were coming or not. I had to keep calling and asking to find out a schedule. I was told multiple times it was a two day job. They were there two days just for the initial Roof repair. They did not even start in any of the reconstruction inside my house.

After two days of the roof work, they never showed back up again. Still to this day have not returned to complete the inside construction work from the quote. It is February 20th. Almost 2 month later. I called the office, the project manager, and attempted to get the estimator on the phone multiple times a week for 3 to 4 weeks just to find out I was lied to the entire time. I was initially told they weren’t coming back because they were waiting for insurance quotes for add-on work. After I finally got in touch with the estimator four weeks later, he told me that none that was happening. They had to actually do the work and start repairing everything to see what was even there if there need to be insurance adjustment.

I have tried to call multiple staff several times a week multiple times each day at points to still rarely ever get responses. I finally asked to have my money back since they did not work. Only then did they try to win me back and offer me discount on the very minimal work that was already done in order to keep them on the project. I refused and now for the fifth time requested somebody with authority call me back to cancel it and get a refund.

When I finally got that call back today I was told I was being mean to the receptionist for demanding work be done and wanting answers for not doing any work, lying to me and not returning almost all of my calls for x months. Just like with the mold removal I called dozens of times politely trying to get answers and work done that was already scheduled. And I was fed up and demanding action again. They finally called me back and claimed I would get a refund. We will see. Ironically the same receptionist that I was dreaming answers from would call me every day when they were trying to get me to sign the contract to pay them, but as soon as I had questions couldn’t ever call me back.

I have had to get the BBB, insurance company and lawyers involved over a simple insurance repair. Therefore, I cannot stress enough to never call Paul Davis for any work. I don’t know how they are even still in business with how they conduct business and horrible customer services. And as I have researched more now I am seeing all the other bad reviews. No good ones. So hopefully they won’t be much longer.

Our fire happened February 24, 2024. It took about 3 months to get through the cataloging process with insurance. Paul Davis began demolition in late May. The house was not deemed a total loss... Just a gut to the outer walls. They handled all the contractors and the insurance company. I found having a text conversation with my Paul Davis team easiest. Dan, Steve and Cory were the best! They were busy with many projects, so leaving messages for them to answer and vise versa allowed us all to be responsive and stay on track. We were able to make changes to improve our home for living today within what insurance allowed and at our expense, but they always communicated with us our options. Fast forward to February 2025, I now have a beautiful home thanks to their expertise.

I can’t even begin to explain the horrifying experience with Paul Davis. I used them because they are an approved vendor with USAA. I didn’t do my normal practice of looking at reviews because hey it’s a USAA VENDOR. First off it took 4 almost months to even get started. The project manager was rude and disrespectful to my wife…. She told him not to use the front entrance and he didn’t it anyway and damaged our storm door. I confronted him over it and he plead ignorance.

So, fast forward to December when the project finally got started I have cameras everywhere…. They didn’t cover anything up, floors, furniture, nothing. I called to complain and requested a new contract manager and they came in after that complaint and covered the floors. Davis restoration subcontracts their labor so I’m certain the people they had working in here unsupervised were illegals. Which I also called them out on… They ignored me. They didn’t even have the standard construction tool….benches to saw on. You know regular home construction stuff…

They were doing their cutting on my grass until I called them out on that…. But didn’t have coverage in the bathroom they were working on but I’m sure they were sawing in bathroom and didn’t cut the thermostat off and all the dust got sucked up into my vents and covered my entire house in construction dust. My whole point of this is that hopefully someone reads this and doesn’t use them and they lose so much business they close. In the defense of the illegal aliens that did the labor….despite not having the tools their craftsmanship was decent.

The shower still leaks. the cabinets that we were talked into getting, are extremely cheap and are peeling. (We had solid wood ones before) Even the caulk that he used cracked after a year. I did catch one thing, thank God. They tried to put an extremely small heating and air-conditioning unit in. I come in one day before it was finished and the house was hot. I went around and looked and a very small AC condenser unit was outside the house. I had to throw a fit to get that replaced and upgraded. All in all I would never use Paul Davis again. My house was nice before the accident, now everything is subpar. It’s impossible to keep an eye on everything all the time so you don’t catch a lot. Not happy.

The company is the worst I have ever experienced. The staff are completely untrained and do not know the basic principles of their work. Two days ago, the residential apartment where we live was flooded due to a burst water pipe. Because of the delayed action to resolve the problem, water flowed into the apartment units for hours. My spouse and I spent hours removing the water from our unit and cleaning it. Unfortunately, the staff of this company, in their incompetence, brought the dirty water collected in the hallway into our unit without our permission and emptied it into our bathroom. During this careless act, the dirty water spilled into our apartment, which we had worked so hard to clean, ruining all our efforts.

From the start we have had nothing but problems with this company. They were hired through our homeowner's insurance for water damage in our kitchen. We have had 5 or 6 different project managers, all of which have claimed to be new with no experience. Each new project manager changes the project direction and then leaves the company and we are left on the back burner for weeks until we call and ask what's going on. There is a huge lack of communication between Paul Davis and all the subcontractors they send out, which has resulted in additional damages. Their accounting department has tried 6 times now to charge our bank account over $12,000 even though this is an insurance claim and we should not owe anything but our deductible.

The first time they charged me I called and was cussed at by the accounting manager and was told I was wrong. I have called the corporate office to file complaints about this treatment and it has fallen on deaf ears. We have had to do all the measuring and product research and travel to the stores to create the list of items for the project manager to then show up and purchase everything. Save yourself the headache and find a local contractor and use that for insurance claims. This has honestly been one of, if not the most stressful thing we have dealt with. We are 10 months in to this project and it is still not complete.

MUST READ! I had a water leak in my basement on Memorial Weekend 2024. I found the problem at about 9:30pm on Monday, May 27th. I called several numbers trying to find a dispatch coming from the Cache Valley area to expedite the service and settled on Paul Davis. Logan with Paul Davis arrived about 11:30pm on Monday evening. Logan was really nice and friendly young man and a great representative of Paul Davis. When Logan arrived, we reviewed what had happened and what I had done so far. I had pulled back the carpeting and cut and carried out the wet carpet padding and used a shop vac to suck up as much water as I could while waiting for help. Logan brought in some fans to start the drying process and said he would be back in the morning to assess the other items needed.

Logan arrived on Tuesday, May 28th morning about 8am with another helper and they proceeded to pull out some base molding so they could access the sheetrock for some spray to minimize any mold accumulation. They also connected a dehumidifier in my kitchen and the combination of the fans and dehumidifier ran for the next several days. I don't stay at this home every day so when I came back to the home on Friday, May 31st the fans and dehumidifier were still running but I noticed that the kitchen floor was all bulged up from swollen subfloor. I called Logan and asked him about the kitchen flooring, and he told me there was a leak in the dehumidifier water line and they (Paul Davis) would take care of the cost to fix my kitchen flooring. Apparently, the dehumidifier had a small leak in the hose and was leaking right on a crack in my vinyl flooring of my kitchen.

They came in the next couple of weeks and cut the vinyl flooring and removed the swollen sub-floor. Another few weeks go by and they replaced the subfloor. At the end of July, I Fired them on putting back the Carpet pad and re-stretching the carpet. I also met with two different flooring contractors on putting my carpet down and looking at the kitchen flooring. Both told me the kitchen vinyl flooring "cannot be patched".

Paul Davis have kept the opinion they can re-install the piece of vinyl that was cut out and now, because they have taken sooo long to repair it, they have disposed of the piece they cut out. I had Designer Floor Covering quote replacement vinyl for same area and it $4,415.20. I told Paul Davis, "I do NOT want to pay for a whole new floor". Paul Davis has yet to fix this floor and it is October 15, 2024. FIX MY FLOOR YOU MESSED UP!!! This is company that is Great at quick response, good at tearing up your home but FAILS at getting it put back together, and I think that is the most important part of selecting a company to do your repairs.

In 2022, my wife and I (both retired) suffered a catastrophic fire that caused our brick home to need total restoration. They guaranteed our plaster walls to be replaced, our hardwood floors to be replaced with the the same pattern and the built in specialty wall cabinets would be replaced. We've paid them a little over the 2/3rds point and they quit on us without finishing the basement that was 60% finished that they stripped to the concrete completely through, tore out the drop ceiling with 4 foot fluorescents, ripped up the Berber carpet and padding, and stripped the stairwell and said that's all we're doing. Then demanded the remainder of the money. To the point of suing us for unfinished work and adding on a contingent suit for unjust enrichment.

They've screwed up the painting on all the 1st floor walls, the kitchen and dining room windows aren't sealed, that attic was left a hazard, and they left a hole in the basement concrete wall open to the outdoors that most any vermin could crawl through about 4 inches in diameter. When we first hired our lawyer he said right off that the contract was unacceptable in the state we are in, and that the numerous pictures were enough to incriminate them. When they did file suit on us in court, they falsified the insurance company's paperwork to suit what they needed. Our lawyer done nothing about it even though the insurance company vouched of the fact that they did not submit that paperwork. They stressed my wife so much, that she died of a stress induced heart attack less than 24 hours after they harassed her for hours over the arbitration of the charges and our lawyer showing up with their paperwork and consorting with them.

After her death, they then have come after me for the unjust enrichment charge. And my lawyer was trying to get me to pay them upwards of $25,000. I've since fired my lawyer and told him straight up that I am of the belief that he is working with them. After he has fleeced us for about $10,000. I can barely live on the social security and the disability money I get from the US Navy. My bills are pushing me near the edge of bankruptcy now. I am quickly going under. I have tons of pictures and a milk crate file that is running over in paperwork. And this company is holding our belongings, that they said they would return to us as soon as we were allowed to move back in, until they get their money. In those belongings is my Navy uniform that I wore during the Vietnam era and on for 8 years of service.

A crew had come in earlier to remove the ceiling from my finished basement because mold stains were visible. It was determined that the toilet in my guest bathroom toilet had leaked causing the mold problem. Bridget and Kayla placed fans in the basement to insure that the rafters above the finished ceiling would be completely dry before the ceiling was replaced. A great job was completed and give this mitigation crew an A plus. I am hoping that the restoration crew will be as good.

The mitigation team included Richard and Randle and Emilio completed the work. The project Manager was Clayton. All repairs have now been completed, and the whole team went above and beyond to return my kitchen to its original condition before the water damage occurred. I dealt mainly with the project manager and was impressed with the promptness with which my questions were answered, and the promptness with which the service was completed. Paul Davis Company turned a stressful situation into a pleasant transaction of services and truly went above and beyond.

We engaged with them June 21. NOTHING has been done other than an outrageous estimate that includes unneeded ceiling repairs in areas that sustained no damage at all. When I called to object to the unnecessary work and complain about continued delays, they chose to "fire" me as their customer. I have a "pod" in my driveway delivered a week ago, fortunately, our HO Insurance will cover the cost, it was to place our personal property in. Very unprofessional response from Paul Davis restoration, and I have been told there is to be a lengthy delay in the refund of my $1K deductible that I paid to them.

My 82-year-old parents had a fire at their home. When I arrived, Paul Davis was already magically on the scene. They were masters of making my parents believe that they were the white hats and would protect them from the big, bad insurance companies who would be out to take advantage of them. Fast forward four months later. Every single person we dealt with at Paul Davis lied in some capacity. My parents' insurance was structured so that they had to pay a $20k deductible before receiving any reimbursement. Paul Davis convinced them to allow them to be on all visits by the insurance adjusters so they could "make sure my parents paid nothing out of pocket."My parents ended up paying $10k out of pocket, when Paul Davis knew full well what they would receive from their insurance. My parents trusted them with that information and they stuck it to my 82 year old parents.

After a 6-week delay in getting the restoration started, they proceeded to perform repairs to a level well below what was quoted. For example, they quoted a 200 sq-foot repair to stucco and proceeded to try to do a 5-foot patch with a contractor not even skilled in stucco work. Yet tried to charge my parents the amount for the full 200 square feet. They put a $1600 adder for invisible deck screws on a composite deck and instead used Deck Mate screws to butcher the boards. Then tried to convince them to accept the shoddy work, while still trying to charge for invisible hangers. After redoing the above work, it took 3 weeks and 6 communications to finally receive a quote to submit to insurance for reimbursement. As you read, they had to pay $10k out of pocket, which is two months rent in their new senior living community.

The latest person who was hired about a month ago assured me my job would be top priority yet I can’t get a call back.

The receptionist suggested yesterday I consider hiring another company because they were simply too busy. Yet they cashed a check from my insurance company 7 weeks ago in which I was to sign upon job completion but they cashed it anyway. They claimed ignorance thinking a signature on the back of the check which came from another office was mine. Basically they committed a felony. Meanwhile my floors are visible to the crawl space, I can’t go in the home and I’ve been paying a mortgage on an unoccupied home for 6 months also delaying the sale. We decided to call Paul Davis restoration. Restoration back in May 2024, believing that they were going to be the answer to the tree that had fallen on our house in January. What we found from the Paul Davis restoration of Greenville and Spartanburg, South Carolina is that they like to cut corners to be able to make more profit than the project they are working on. They Decide what not to do and what to do without regard to the amount of money that has already been paid. This company has provided us with a quote and then decided not to do many of the items on the quote that was all based on insurance recommendation on State Farm’s webpage. This company, Brent **, Bruce ** and Case ** have lied, threatened, and have left us with an incomplete home while we were trying to navigate the trauma of having a tree fall on our home.

We have pictures of everything that they decided not to do, we have pictures of all the damages , and some of them are provided by their own employees. They allowed their subcontractors to do damage to our home, and we have pictures from Paul Davis restoration showing all of these things that, were in respect to their integrity, showing that they lacked it.

Since we have dealt with this tree falling on our house, we believed that by taking on State Farm recommended contractor of Paul Davis restoration that we were doing something good for ourselves. Since we hired this company and signed documents with this company, they have proved that they are shady, coercive, and threatening, without delivering what they provided in a quote.

Now this company would like to put a lien on our home for nonpayment, when we still have an incomplete home and haven’t done a proper walk-through yet, mind you we have the final payment waiting for them upon completion minus the things they have not done. This company is not a company you want to hire for anything that would provide you with the security blanket that you think they should provide. I have 120 some emails expressing lack of communication from their side of the company, lack of accountability, and lack of professionalism.

At this point, these people are questioning my integrity as to whether or not I’m going to pay a bill that I’ve already paid 3/4 of prior to any of the work that is still not completed. The work has come across as shady, the integrity that they’ve shown has been unacceptable, and how they treated us as the insured recovering from a trauma to our home has been extremely distasteful. I would never recommend these people to anyone, find someone better because these guys find a way to make a profit without doing a proper job.

My insurance approved Paul Davis Restoration ten thousand and five hundred dollars to have my garage reconstructed in Dayton Ohio in 2021. The previous franchise owner ignored the construction work and compromised my safety and over charged for siding that did not need to be replaced.. He made up stories about the foundation might have to be replaced if he had to get an inspection and then he said he would not need an inspection if he didn’t replace the entire right wall. He kept telling me that the insurance would not pay for the foundation if the inspector did not approve the current foundation.

The problem with the previous franchise owner’s story is that there was clearly nothing wrong with the foundation and my insurance already gave me the first five thousand dollars to have the repair work done. He could had put a portion of the first five thousand dollars to the foundation to be repaired if needed. I told the previous franchise owner to not try to hook me with any additional cost. I even crossed out on the contract where he tried to hold me responsible for any additional cost. I also put my initials beside it and I wrote on that section that I would NOT be responsible for any additional cost after he received five thousand dollars from me. I made all of this VERY CLEAR before he even began the work.

The previous Dayton franchise owner was totally unprofessional during this entire process and he even tricked me in signing the completion of work. He sat right on my couch with a smile on his face telling me that I would be getting money back because he did not have time to complete the work but I would have to sign the paper to get the money so I can get the repairs done myself. After I signed the paper I received emails from his office saying he was going to sue me if I did not pay the remaining balance. The franchise owner violated the contract after I made it very clear before he even started any work that I was not responsible for any additional cost. The insurance finally paid the additional cost to the previous franchise owner and I received nothing from the franchise owner.

I have had to pay out of pocket to get the construction repairs done myself and the previous franchise owner has left the business. I have called the main office multiple times in Florida to get my money back for the materials and for things that I had to pay someone else to do. I have been dealing with this nightmare for over 3 years and I have heard nothing back from the main office. All pictures were taken after the previous franchise owner had the panels installed over bad wood and the pictures also show the neglect of construction work.

Two years ago we had a refrigerator water line leak and damage the floor of our kitchen. I'm reviewing now because we are still having problems with our new floor that was installed by Paul Davis. Our insurance company sent Paul Davis out to dry the flooring and perform an assessment of the damage. They quickly arrived and got things dry, but the flooring was a complete loss. Our insurance company worked with them on a plan to remove the flooring in the kitchen, dining room and living room area and replace it with a vinyl flooring. The old flooring was completely removed very quickly and the new flooring ordered and that's where it all went wrong.

The new flooring was installed by a tile guy that had never done vinyl or laminate flooring before. He damaged a lot of edges by striking them together too hard and left very large gaps around the doorways and along the walls that were not covered by the baseboards. He also removed the moulding around a few doors and did not fully reattach them and Paul Davis made no effort to fix them. Now, two years later, the edges of the planks in may places are curling up and pieces are breaking off. In other places, the planks have separated and gaps are forming.

The problems didn't stop with the floor. The contractor sent out a couple guys to install the baseboards and that job was completed quickly and fairly well, although they did not clean up any of the offcuts or sawdust from cutting the boards. We had to do that ourselves after they left. They were supposed to return the next day to paint the baseboards, but instead sent a teenager that did not know what he was doing to complete the painting. The teenager was given flat sheen paint which is absolutely the wrong type for baseboards and he proceeded to paint the baseboads, the walls and the floor. He made a poor attempt to cleanup the mess and finally gave up. We had to go around the room and clean the paint off the walls and floors ourselves as best we could. Paul Davis did apologize for the mess and offered to send someone else, but I'd had enough by then and told them to mark the job done and to never come back.

I will never recommend Paul Davis to do any types of repairs. The only thing they did well was send a former contractor named Martin to try and help. Martin went above and beyond to try and fix the failures of the rest of the crew but the crew's incompetence was too much. If you need Paul Davis to remove mold and dry things out, then great, but don't expect much when they try to fix things after.

They worked efficiently (and together) communicating with us and each other. They worked very hard to get everything done quickly. Their Mitigation PM Kelly was very good and quickly got everything over to USAA for a quick approval. I was waiting on Restoration to get to the house and start the process of getting an estimate together and sending the estimate to USAA and putting the Kitchen back in order so that I could feed my disabled Step-son. When I had not heard anything, Kelly got me over to the PM Anthony from Restoration.

The information that I received was that Anthony did not want to do my job putting me off another 2 days of getting an estimate over to USAA. I was reassigned to Delialiah and Russell and he is coming over on Thursday. I am not please at all with Anthony's behavior. This is nothing new, this is how he acted at Servicemaster. However, Cody is a dream, and anyone would be lucky to have him come to there home and help them. Paul Davis would be wise to understand that USAA probably in the end will pay around 32,000 for this claim, and to be shoved around by an arrogant, paronoid, and overall mean spirited human being is crazy when I am paying you a nice pay day for 1 claim.

During the pack out, the staff was great. Our refrigerator was scratched and dented. They are only paying for the equivalent of the metal on the doors to be replaced. They still haven’t paid me back for that either. I have emailed, texted and called with no response. During the move in, a leg of my entertainment center was broken. That has also not been addressed. My condo kitchen in Ocean City MD was water-damaged by the condo unit upstairs. My insurance company sent Paul Davis Restoration for emergency service and then recommended them for repairs. I signed a contract on 12/29/2023 which had a starting date the week of 1/22/24 and a completion date the week of 2/12/24. It is now April 19, 2024 and the work is still not finished. The contract called for new kitchen cabinets, a new countertop, wall and ceiling paint of the kitchen, living room and hallway because the walls were all connected. This was not a difficult or unusual type of repair and there were no unusual outside circumstances that delayed the progress.

There was a 2-week delay between the day they emptied my kitchen and made the condo unusable until they even ordered the cabinets. The work dragged every week after that. I had requested flat paint in the living room and they painted it satin, so that had to be redone. The laminate countertop was mis-measured in 2 places and had to be uninstalled and returned for repairs. The carpet ordered was too short for the room and had to be reordered. In the meantime, my sofa was moved in front of the baseboard heater and a very heavy recliner chair was dumped upside down on the sofa cushions. When the chair was removed and the sofa returned to its regular spot there was a huge spot that was burned and discolored because it had been sitting by the heater. It cannot be fixed.

The PDR executives are "sorry" about this, but there is no plan to reimburse me for this loss. While my sofa was stored by the heater, much of the other living room furniture, including an upholstered chair that matched the sofa pattern had been placed on the deck and left there in February dampness. Once the carpet was installed it looked to me like it was not the quality of the old carpet they removed. I had the opportunity to select this carpet from a 2X2 or 2X4 inch carpet display board which really didn't reveal much about the quality. When I questioned how it compared to my original carpet I got a round about answer about the importance of the carpet pad with any carpet. Now that it is installed it looks really cheap.

Then there is the water heater and garbage disposal story. These 2 items were not part of the contract which included only the amount to be paid by the insurance company. I requested the water heater because mine was older and I was worried about leakage. It was a 30-gallon one and I expected the same kind to be replaced. The project manager called me one day and asked if 28 gal was okay because he needed to order it that day for the plumber to install.

I told him there were 30 gal available for order, but according to him, this had to happen that day. So the smaller tank was ordered and it blocked the way to the kitchen for 2 weeks before it was actually installed, not by a plumber but by a regular worker. The garbage disposal was installed without the rubber splash guard so if you turned on the unit you were splashed water and anything in the disposal unit up to your neck. Also kind of dangerous which a real plumber would have known. Next time I visited the condo I found that the tops of 2 slats on my vertical blind at the slider door were snapped off, and the whole blind would not return to the wall by about 12-14 inches.

Now, why and how did all this happen? Well I was told that my project manager was "learning." So that meant that while he learned on my repairs, I just had to be patient and wait. That was the last straw. He hasn't learned very well and 8 weeks after the completion date of the contract, a breached contract now, I am still waiting. I never receive an update from the project manager unless I phone or text him, and usually, I have to end up calling because I don't get an answer to most texts. The Operations manager appears to be concerned, but he always speaks as an observer of the situation, but not a solver of the reasons for delay or the damage to my property by careless employees. Please don't call Paul Davis Restoration to fix any of your problems.

As soon as the check came in, they insisted I could not do ANY of the work myself, even as a licensed contractor and with the blessing of the insurance and mortgage companies. Even work that was adjacent to the repair they insisted on doing.

This 12 weeks after the date of loss and on the day they were supposed to send a contract. I had spoken in person and in my house with two project managers and the estimator, all of whom agreed that it would not be a problem for me to do some of the work as well as the upgrades I wanted to install, on my own. I had a house fire. My insurance company went through Paul Davis. The contractor assigned for demolition was pleasant and informed me of everything going on. Then we moved on to the construction portion of the process. I was assigned a contractor named Phil. Who told me once a week that he was "just waiting to hear back from the plumbers" for about 6 months. Then he quit. The owner Todd sat down with me and we started designing a contract. He was nice and professional. Then the contractor assigned for construction Michael first sentence to me was an argument about the flooring I had discussed with the owner Todd.

Everything after that day was an argument with him. Everything was a fight. I didn't get the kitchen I asked for. I didn't get the bathtub I was told I was getting. And every time I came to the house to inspect there was nobody there but a space heater was left on high. The building permits took 8 weeks which I was told by the city it took longer than usual because the manager Chris had not paid the demolition permits yet. Well every delay for 2 years PDR blamed that 8 week building permit on.

I lived in a hotel for 14 months. The insurance only covered for 1 year. I had to pay for 2 months at a hotel out of my own pocket. Todd realizing this paid $3500 for the first month. I paid for the 2nd month. I was told by Todd's wife Karen that they would help me with the final 2 weeks. Then after I was back home Karen explained she only meant they would pay for 1 week. Then I received another email months later that they felt paying 4 days was more than fair then provided me a credit for 3 days at the hotel off my invoice.

The final invoice was drastically more than it should have been. I was informed it was due to "overage". I explained I have confirmation email that I paid in full and the insurance has paid in full and none of my credits and deductions have been subtracted from the invoice yet so where was this "overage' coming from. I was told they would go over the calculations and get back to me. That was in April. It's now February of the following year and I'm still waiting on the final corrected invoice.

One and the same, the insurance company and their hire.

If you want inferior work and a lot of tears and abuse, then go ahead and hire these folks. They find the cheapest labor they can, and I know this for a fact because I ran into some of the contractors they use after the fact and did not hire them. There are so many details to this story, but suffice it to say, I would rather have skipped the insurance company altogether. HIRE your own people, do not go with what insurance companies offer because after the initial contact I was royally screwed and on my own. Arrogant and disrespectful beyond belief.

This company promises the stars at initial contract signing. Once signed the horrors began. From overly excessive delays and no shows, the use of lesser quality materials than they were paid for, and outright unprofessional demeanor, you quickly realize you you were baited. They got paid an overwhelming amount from the insurance company then turned around and jipped me on materials and refused to do line items they were paid for. The claim was padded with things like axle trailers and site cleaning which were services not rendered. The tradesmen do sloppy piecemeal work then get aggressive when you attempt to have corrections made.

At the end of a job that was supposed to take 2 months they took 5, they had the gall to submit supplements to my insurance for an additional $10,000 (after receiving $40k (to redo an island/ sand and stain the floor), but when I inquired why, I found they were paid for these things in the initial lump sum payment from my insurance company. Double dipping! They charged $19k to remove my furniture yet left most on the property in another room. This place was recommended by Liberty Mutual. I complained throughout the job that this company was doing unsavory things. One rep said they had to investigate the supplements because they were paid on the initial work order. The general public needs to be wary of this company, they should be investigated.

Thankfully, the Ashland, KY branch is shutting down. Their mitigation team did more damage to our home than the fire did. On top of their unacceptable mitigation efforts they have essentially stolen our money for our remodel and, even though they have not done any remodel work, still refuse to return the money. Because of this the new company we have hired to clean up the mess PDR created in our home has pulled out because our insurance company refuses to pay them until PDR returns the money. This has caused additional unnecessary stress and mental anguish for my wife and I and we are still displaced 6 months after the fire happened with no end to this nightmare in sight.

Our insurance has made the corporate office aware of the issue (Liberty Mutual has four other claimants enduring the same hell) but so far no one seems to care about the unethical business practices of one of their franchisees. To me that suggests that no one at PDR actually cares about their customers or their own reputation.

    - Nearly TWO years after a fire the home is still not ready.
++ Executive management had (has) no construction or construction management background. Came from IoT and Marketing. Claim to fame is an Elevator Marketing Patent. ????

Our walls were falling away from the house and they said we were good for staying in the home and the structural integrity was good. I asked them to conduct a site inspection and I was asked to provide a date and time. Being retired and disabled I’m at home 99% of the time. I told them to schedule a day that I would be home. This was a month and a half into the process. Almost a week later I asked again to send someone out.

The project manager responded saying I never told them what day. She said she never received a message from me and I again said any day they could come by I would be home. She responded with an odd request and that was for me to tell her what damage there was at my home so she could make sure they knew what was needed for the site inspection. I’ve been working with them for almost 2 months, they’ve been to my home at least twice and they had no idea what damage I had at my home. After that…..ghosted. No communications. I called another company and they have done more in a week than Paul Davis did in almost 2 months. I would not recommend this company at all.

Our neighbors and us had water damage in our condos due to a leak from our refrigerator hose. We needed our kitchen floors redone and our garage ceiling and shared wall. Paul Davis was recommended by their insurance (Progressive) and they were available to do the work for both condos given the shared wall. Paul Davis remediation team arrived, pulled out walls, ceilings, floors and put up fans to dry everything out as expected. It went downhill from there. They broke items, put tape on the hardwood finishing of our living room (caused damage but it's outside the water damaged zone), pulled out our kitchen sink the day before Thanksgiving... and left our condo like this until their Restoration team was available some 10+ wks later.

They succeeded in drying out the water damaged areas AND managed to cause other damage that cannot be fixed under insurance. The pulling out the kitchen sink (separate $900 bill for a plumber) left it to us to buy a temporary sink and hire a plumber ($300 for our local plumber, a third of the cost) so we could use our kitchen in a limited capacity (no dishwasher, stove, or cabinets/counters). This has left a sour taste in our mouths. The lack of coordination, care, and communication, in addition to damage was more than it was worth to hire this company. Hire a competent company who will take care of both the remediation and the restoration so you don't end up eating costs for their mistakes.

This is a review of Paul Davis Restoration and its Project Manager, Kim **. Unfortunately, we experienced some water damage in the master bathroom due to a faulty toilet seal. We did not know what all damage was done. Water was leaking from under the floor as well as behind the wall. After the damage was inspected and mitigated, Paul Davis assigned a project manager by the name of Kim **. She was fantastic! She came out promptly and surveyed the situation. She was the one that also located and worked directly with all the subcontractors to do all the work to return our bathroom to its original state. She had people lined up to do the painting, floor removal and installation, and baseboard replacement. Even a part of the wall had to be replaced. There was one issue during the restoration process. Kim came out, looked at it, and made sure that it was rectified to my satisfaction.

I hope I never have to go through something like this again but if I do, I know who to call - Paul Davis Restoration. And I will most assuredly request Kim ** as my Project Manager. She not only was interested in doing a good job for Paul Davis she was also interested in making sure that it was done correctly. She used her knowledge and skills to take care of my situation, my problem, and my home. She wanted to make sure that it was done according to her specifications in order for it to be done correctly - as if it was her own home. You don't really see a lot of that attention to detail and a desire to make things right with the customer in this day and time. Paul Davis stood behind the workmanship of all their people. That's why I would highly recommend Paul Davis Restoration and Kim ** for any home restoration issues.

On 10/2022 the Paul Davis Restoration Company was sent by our homes insurance company for level 3 water damage. After demolition, my husband requested a quote from the repair side of Paul Davis. My husband received a quote with one tech and his manager. After an employee turnover, he was stated that quote was not valid and they have no records of that. However, my husband has the paperwork along with emails from our insurance company with the information. Since 10/2022 we have been going back and forth with Paul Davis for completion of our home.

Our home's floor titles are particularly torn apart from an attempt to pull the water damage titles up. Paul Davis has multiple quotes from our insurance approving fixtures on the cabinets, countertops, floors, etc yet no one has contacted my husband or myself. However, the management, field staff are unresponsive, unprofessional, disorganized, and unconstructive.

In my opinion, using Paul Davis for anything leads to a headache, unnecessary time and energy, and financial risk. Not to mention after speaking with a colleague who happens to be a doctor, and has previous experience with Paul Davis. She stated Paul Davis are crooks. Paul Davis, please submit itemized receipt of everything that has been done? Please remember the itemized receipt should be identical to the itemized receipt my husband has from our home insurance company. Not the information given to him verbally about some fees will be delegated to other fees that required more expenses than another expense.

Just like one of the other reviews we were told Paul Davis could not take their home repair. We were informed Paul Davis decided not to continue the repairs on our home. Abruptly, after they came and pulled up our title throughout our house. We should not be charged on the itemized receipt for the title if the pulling up of the title was not completed. Along, with not including transfer of pack-up items. No work was completed to even have the items transferred.

Water damage was all throughout the floor not just in two spots of the title. The gentleman who was speaking with husband was Doug; however, he must of been told not to respond to my husband since he never responded back to my husband's text. Thank you for your time and assistance. The photos attached are photos we had to request to have remove from the demolition crew once they already said they were done with demolition. Along, with uncompleted title removal. As you can see they failed to remove the contaminated water damage from the overflowing fetus filled toilet damage from material of the home.

Fire started on 05/13/22 and as of today I still don't have a complete garage. First day company came out and was able to assess the situation. 1 restoration person was doing the cleaning that day but did not return until June 23, due to no pod to place any items in after cleaning them. Dumpster was delivered until June 24th. So, this is over a month after that some things were actually being done. Manager Curtis was always making excuses. They hired some Temp people that did not know what they were doing. I even caught one smoking weed in the vehicle on my property. The temps would leave cigarette butts everywhere, along with garbage. I would walk out and hear them complaining of all the stuff they had to clean. They would throw things away without recording it as they are supposed to. They broke items that I cannot replace. One of their drivers even drove through my yard taking branches off of my Crab apple tree.

Pack up took until end of July, when they hired an independent contractor to take out the drywall and insulation. He showed up and completed 40 percent and then went on a 2-week vacation. I ended up taking down drywall, insulation, and a storage room to help speed things up. They finally attempted to get an electrician out on July 27th after I had to ask, "have you done this yet"? Then Curtis gave an excuse that my insurance company wanted a second quote on electrical. So, Curtis found another company to come out in September for a quote. My insurance never asked for another bid.

The electrical company wanted half down to even schedule the repairs. Curtis would not release any funds from the insurance check to do this. Then someone for the garage doors finally showed up in August. The doors had to be ordered by another company and only arrived in October. Needed funds for those also. Curtis would not release funds to pay for anything. Throughout August his mitigation crew that did not know how to even operate a paint machine sprayed white lacquer all over my garage walls and floor of course. Missing spots that needed to be covered due to smoke damage. Did not even clean before using the spray. They would buy a 5 gallon at a time and run out, so they dragged out the process until September. I would constantly call, and Curtis would not answer, but he would text back saying he would call me right back. Never got calls back.

I finally got fed up and called my insurance company and cancelled Paul Davis services. I could not get any funds for repairs until end of October. I went through the pods to see how everything was doing in there since it had been sitting so long and I needed some tools out of it. They stacked heavy containers on light, it was like a tower of Jinga. Broken container totes everywhere. Then Paul Davis sent my insurance company their quote on what was done. Total fabrication on everything. Their project manager Josh called me to ask if could sign the check. I said no due to the fact of how I found all the totes in the pods. Then he asked if he could come out and finish up restacking of the pod stuff and clean up the paint on Monday Oct 31. I told him I did not want anyone out there unsupervised. He assured he would be there and that he hired a whole new crew that were trustworthy.

No one showed up but then I get a text on November 7th. "Oh yeah, we were out there last Tuesday and got stuff stacked right." Things were still stacked unsafely and had fallen down. Paint was not cleaned up. I was very upset that no one called to tell me they came out onto my property. They have gone through 2 office managers, numerous cleaning staff since May. They lost the form I signed on day one and want me to sign another along with the check for their services, but I am refusing until things are corrected and replaced. Do not use this company. So much more happened during this time but it is Dec 1st, and I still don't have a finished garage. All my belongings are sitting outside in Pods and under snow.

Being vulnerable and unaware of how to handle a situation led us to entrust them with the reconstruction of our home. We had a fire Oct 2020 and we encountered multiple delays in schedule, change in personnel, lack of prompt communication, unreliable subcontractors, tons of re-work because things were done incorrectly, and finally no transparency in the billing process (we purchased many items on our own to help expedite the process and we 2 years later don’t know where we stand on our refund to this day). It took us more than 1 year to return to our home due to these issues and when we returned PDR to this day 2 years later PDR has still been in and out having to fix stuff.

Now back to the patio…the original of fire 2 years later and 1 year since move in has not been corrected because PDR estimators understated the work that needed to get done to return this area to pre-fire conditions to the insurance and as we approached our filing timeline the insurance is unwilling to pay. Our home pretty much had to be rebuilt and we are happy to be back but the pain and emotion we’ve endured with PDR thru this process leads me to not recommend this company should you find yourself in an unfortunate position as us.

YIKES! THIS COMPANY DOESN'T CARE ABOUT YOU OR ITS REPUTATION! 4 people knew that I was having a problem and none of them helped me; Austin, Kyle, Dustin or the Regional Manager. I'm blown away by their lack of customer service and communication. The mitigation process, with Austin, went great at the beginning but everything after the repair estimate was a NIGHTMARE! Once Dustin **, the one handling the mitigation process, THOUGHT I wasn't having them do the WHOLE job he started treating me like crap. He wouldn't respond to my text questions. I called and talked to Kyle on a Thursday and let him know that I was concerned about the lack of communication. He assured me he would talk to him and make sure he communicated better with me.

4 days later Dustin texted me at 4:30 pm (right before he was going home for the day) and said they wouldn't be able to start my job for 6 WEEKS. I texted back and said, "When I talked to you 2 weeks ago you said the job would be started in about 2 weeks." He texted back that was based on them doing ALL the work. I assured him that I never said they weren't going to do the whole job and I just wanted to wait to see what the estimate said. There were crickets after that. I'm so confused about this manner of handling problems. I also called and left a message for the regional manager of Paul Davis but it's been 4 days so I doubt if they care either. If you look at some of the other reviews about Paul Davis, Paul Davis stops working when someone complains about a problem they are having. They run away instead of actively solving the problem.

I checked out the Utah Disaster Kleenup reviews. I was impressed that when someone complained they wanted to find them in their system and make things right. That's the kind of company that I want to work with, one that is concerned about their reputation!!! I've hired UDK to come and do the work. I guess my $14,000 wasn't enough for Paul Davis. (They would have gotten over $22,000 for the whole job). Unfortunately for them, when I'm treated poorly I let EVERYONE know about it. They should have at least acted as if they cared. Check out my evidence below. My texts are in green and Dustin ** are in b&w. It took him 5 days to get back to me. How hard is it to send a text?

To PaulDavis: I hope that you guys learn from this experience and don't just assume the customer doesn't want you to do the whole job. I wanted to see the repair estimate before a signed the work authorization slip. I didn't know what I was locked into once I signed that. Once the estimate comes back, just call the customer and say, "hey I've got your approved estimate back from the insurance company. They are going to cover this and this. We can start ____. Can I please get that deductible from you?" I would have said, "that sounds great. Do you know how much it would cost to paint the whole basement at the same time?"

The workmanship has been less than mediocre hence the 5 to 6 sub-contractors. The carpet was cut too far into the bedroom to where the entire room needs to be replaced and they tried to get the insurance to pay for their mistake. I have reached out to several other companies about this job and have been told that it should have only taken a few weeks to complete. Even the PM and the PMs boss said the same thing but in 8 months, my bathroom is not close to being finished. I wish I would have seen a huge advisor to KEEP AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AND ALL PARTIES INVOLVED WITH THEM!!! They are thieves!!! Charging my insurance company for stuff they didn't do. Charging me for things outside of what the Insurance company authorized. (That I did not agree to). Several of my personal things went missing, as well as household items, Sink, Faucet, Garbage Disposal, Outlets, remotes to fans, light, etc....USAA has them on a Contractor List, my unfortunate and very unpleasant experience to have had them come up on rotation for the repairs to my home. What was supposed to be a simple Roof, floor and paint job turned out to be anything but....

The "Project Manager" or lack thereof was never there to oversee the work that was being performed. My kitchen cabinets were destroyed along with the walls and electrical that I had just done and permitted. Paul Davis did work without the proper Permits. I was left to pay for Fines from the city for work performed without a permit.

Gordon the owner is a liar and he stated that my home received several coats of paint (4) to be exact. I have video showing their workers only doing 2 and not even a good job at that. I had to hire another painter to come in a fix and repaint all the walls in the house, to include all the baseboards that were painted black and in doing so stained the bottom the white walls and new tile.... The paint started peeling all along the baseboard area. And in several spots you can clearly see where a paint brush never touched the walls!!! You might as well forget about mentioning this to the owner Gordon as he does not give two ** about the workmanship, he just wants to charge the insurance companies and YOU for shady work being performed.

I come and post this with all the PROOF and will post in due time to expose this thief!!! The Sub-Contractors he deals with have said nothing nice or good about him/company. One contractor that I had to call to come out and finish the work that he was paid by Insurance company to do, advised he was unaware that Paul Davis was using his company to pull permits under!! What?! Then I had to pay this subcontractor out of my own pocket. That happened with 2 other sub-contractors. IF YOU DON'T AGREE OR ARE UNHAPPY WITH THE WORK, WELL YOU'RE OUT OF LUCK... HE WILL PLACE A LIEN ON YOUR HOUSE!!! Instead of being an honest person and come to you to fix whatever you are unhappy with, he chooses the dishonest way out. Grab your money and go.

The aftermath of what was done to my home and family, I would not wish on ANYONE. PLEASE I strongly suggest you heed my WARNING. Anyone needing proof before I expose this company's crooked practices can email me, **. I'd be more than happy to share what I have. His motto for his business is purely fictional., He is not helping anyone but himself to your money! You are a bad bad person Gordon **, you know what you did to my home and family, shame on you!!!! You will either learn from this and straighten your company and work ethics or I hope your business closes so you can't do this to anyone else!!!!

Wow being evacuated by fire made us homeless but this company preyed upon us. Made it 100% worse... They showed up telling us if we didn't sign immediately we would not get to come back home for months. We only had smoke damage and hadn't even been allowed home by authorities before Paul Davis came and told us what had to be done. Once we were able to go home we found not much of a problem at all since we taped up our windows and doors before we left. We had only 2 needs which Paul Davis said they would fix. Window screens needed to be replaced and our attic got filled with smoke. They said they Had to prove to our insurance company that it needed to be done by bringing in odor detectors and a cleaning crew that was totally unnecessary.

They were here for about 6 hours before telling us that they did not know how to clean window screens and the attic was outside their scope. Okay so we don't need Paul Davis... Too late. They ended up sending a pressure washing crew who totally destroyed our antique collection on our from porch and also broke the porch lights! Paul Davis said they would take care of it and fix it. We sent them pictures and itemized list which they asked for us to provide receipts for the antiques. Antiques by nature don't have receipts and they cannot easily be replaced.

The other issue is they took our curtains and blinds saying that they needed to be cleaned before the screens could be blamed for the smell. They took them and billed us for the job before we even got them back. They requested payment over and over but we did not have our items returned yet. Paul Davis billed our insurance over $10,000 at over $1500 per hour! OMG! The insurance company said they would rather pay it than take their time since they were so many claims in our area.

Paul Davis said since they broke so many of our items they would take that out of the deductible we owed them. Yes the $10k was not enough for them! Well after being passed from person to person the one person will say, "We do not owe anything due to the damage," and then a day later their manager will call and demand payment in a threatening way. I think they are trying to wear us down into paying them more and more... After talking to neighbors we aren't the only ones who were scammed by Paul Davis. Hired Paul Davis Tampa to do renovation from an AC handler leak. Project "Manager" Andres (apparently they use the term very loosely) complete lack of communication, laziness and total lack of interest in the project should have been a warning sign. The following is a list of some of the issues we experienced. Please read on to the last one. It is the most dangerous and disturbing aspect having hired this company.

    1. Contractors showing up around 10 am only to say leaving to go to Home Depot for supplies. One hour round trip from my home. When I mentioned this I was told that was standard procedure. Really!!!

    2. Painters doing electrical work. Self explanatory.

    3. Attempting to cut tile indoors without any containment. When I insisted they do something again they went to Home Depot. Only to return without proper containment kit(s). Instead a roll of fine mill plastic sheeting and painter's tape. Needless to say the much if not most of the tile dust escaped into the house.

    4. Pressure from "manager" to consider removing three plus rooms of tile instead of the 300 or so sq ft necessary because tile had been discontinued. Insisted could not find enough tile and if he could it probably would not match existing tile. I contacted the manufacturer and in a 2 minute phone call found 2000 sq ft of it available. Even went as far to tell us they could pack up all the rooms and transport it all to their warehouse for storage. Then demo all the good tile and replace with a tile selected from their showroom. All I could hear was commission, commission $$$! Tile was perfect match 100%.

    5. On several occasions sent a contractor alone to do work who spoke no English at all. Unfortunately I only speak English.

    6. Contractors often showed up without clear instructions on what they were supposed to do. Homeowner has to act as manager and supervisor.

    7. MOST IMPORTANTLY: Homeowner may need to have a means of protecting themselves and their family. Contractor arrived alone to start work shortly after I realized another guy was in my house. Only expecting the one guy to work that day. Ok, went out to my garage and found two ladies sitting in the middle of my garage with laptops and food. Asked Andres to ask them to leave. At first he refused and and after a lengthy text and telephone exchange called the contractor. Contractor became extremely irritated slamming things on the floor of garage and cursing at me in Spanish. I confronted him and explained to him and his helper my reason for asking apparently their wives to leave.

I asked how long to finish was told one hour. Desperate to get this horrific ordeal over with I told them to finish ASAP. I pulled up the Sheriff's phone number on my laptop and got out a loaded handgun and tucked it into my waistband. You NEVER PUT A CLIENT/HOMEOWNER IN HARMS WAY! If a homeowner contacts you and is not comfortable with a situation or worker in their home YOU GET THEM OUT IMMEDIATELY! I was fortunate this situation did not escalate, however someone else may not be so fortunate.

I finally got a quote from them to roof my house and repaint the damaged area close to the end of April a month later. Once I found out what my insurance would cover. I had a second quote made to take out the re-painting. I received the second quote a week later. After another week or so and signing the work authorization forms for them to do the work. I was sent another quote because the estimator forgot to include the rigid cap, if you don't know roofs look up what a rigid cap is.

Through-out the whole month of May I was told anywhere from two weeks to 3-4 weeks before I would have my roof replaced. They did a check in May to make sure my roof wasn't leaking more, one of the guys that showed up looked to be spaced out of his mind and wouldn't trust him in my house for anything. Finally, after several calls to the direct office my roof was replaced right at two months from when the papers were signed. They dropped off the wrong vent flashing, the dumpster wasn't here when the roofers showed up.

It took this place over two weeks to send me an invoice, I sent the check certified mail so I could ensure they were paid, it took them less than 24 hours to clear the check through my bank, and still have a half a box or so flashing sitting beside my house. If you need a roof deal with a company that does roofing, everyone involved with my roof were companies they sub-contracted anyhow. I have kept all documentation and emails just in case something comes up when the sub-contractors don't get paid. Not to mention they will over quote you. I found out after the fact I could have save almost 2k for my roof by going somewhere else and actually could of had it done in less than two weeks.

To whom it may concern: My name is JR ** and I would like to tell you about my experience with Paul Davis Restoration. So we were right in the middle of the Tick Canyon Fires in Oct 2019. A Paul Davis associate lives right up the street from me so naturally I would have thought of supporting the neighborhood and all. The very first meeting we had scheduled was cancelled only after I called the estimator 15 minutes after the scheduled meeting. He was very busy as a result of the fires so I rescheduled… Guess what, he was a no show again, only to arrive an hour later once I called him to find out if he was still going to show up. Although he missed or was late multiple times throughout (he has a son that plays basketball and he coaches him), the process went ok after that as far as the timeliness of the work performed, mostly!

They brought in several companies the clean our house from top to bottom, they replaced all of my attic insulation (they had to reschedule because they didn’t bring sufficient product for the job), because the airdrops that were occurring on top of the high winds, our house was a target of the bright pink "Phos-check" all over my house, a company was brought in the pressure wash the entire house top to bottom. So lots of work going on. The insulation company also dirtied our walls, soiled our carpets and knocked a picture off the wall in the staircase as well. I took it upon myself to re-clean the carpets and fixed and rehung the picture myself.

During that period of time where multiple contractors coming in and out of our house daily, there was quite a bit of damage incurred by the contractors (some mentioned above), a separate large family picture was mishandled and dropped on the floor shattering the glass, a focal point window covering was broken to the point where it is unusable (we just leave it in the down position because it's no longer functioning), I have several valuable bobble head collectables where at least two were broken, all of the external woodwork was pressure washed to the point where there are large areas where there is no longer any paint of the wood so it is bare to the elements now), the stucco on the outside was damaged by the Phos-check and the pressure washing, there are other things that were damaged but I think my point is being made.

So as we came to the end of the what they referred to as the "Clean up" stage, I began to have the conversations with the estimator about the repairs that needed to be made once the “clean up” was completed. That seemed to me so I did not become concerned at that time that I had asked multiple times with no good answer. But I did ask him when they would be coming out to fix the damage, he then indicated to me that he was part of the “clean up” crew and there was a “repair/rebuild” part of the project and that person would reach out to me very soon. I was reluctant at that point especially when he presented me with the sign off document that his part of the job was completed, again sounded reasonable to me.

When time came to pay the bill, I had a very minor communication issue with my mortgage company/Insurance company (both reputable companies), all of which were Covid-19 related. It was hard to be able to contact anyone by this time. In addition, I work for a large corporation where I am required to come into work daily (7 days/week) as I am considered an essential worker so communication with my financial institutions became even more difficult. It was really starting to get hairy with the world wide pandemic all the while I kept in contact with my mortgage/insurance companies as to get payment to Paul Davis as soon as possible.

The person I was dealing with became decidedly aggravated with the situation so I thought setting up a three way call with all involved would prove prudent. Seemed like the right thing to do at the time and situation. Well, I won't repeat the language he used in my letter as this may be read by someone sensitive but the language he used during the call was so offensive the representative on the phone hung up abruptly. I called her back and she indicated she wouldn’t tolerate bad language and had authority to hang up. I told her I didn’t blame her but I apologized and went about my day. Something like… I want my XX**** money!

I also receive multiple threatening emails that they would be forced to send us to collections if we didn't pay immediately. As mentioned I work for a major corporation and understand needed to pay timely but there are times where stuff just happens. I don't know about you but I don't have $30,000 just sitting around just in case of something like this rare exception comes up! Paul Davis received their money only days after this outburst by the person I was dealing with so really uncalled for in my opinion. The funny thing is he offered me unsolicited business advice by stating if I had a customer that owed me $30,000, I would have done the same thing. Well as an individual who has responsibility to an $80+mm dollar area, I would never raise my voice, use bad language and make threats to a person if they don't pay NOW! Needless to say this was not advice I was willing to adopt.

Finally as part of the "promises" Paul Davis Company made me… Shortly after the fires were extinguished the fire department came out and assisted us with getting as much of the pink chemical off our house as possible. This seemed helpful until we went back to the kitchen only find >3” of water in on the kitchen floor as a result of the high pressure water being used to clean the Phos-check form the back of our house. The water came in through the sliding glass door and covered the kitchen floor. Luckily we noticed it right away and quickly sopped up the water, but the damage was done. All of the lower kick plates of our kitchen cabinets were stained and discolored.

The weird part of this was all along I continued to ask about the damage and wanted to know when that would be completed. At a point right before I was tricked into signing off of the "clean up" part of the project, I asked one last time about our kitchen kick plates and the estimator got real excited and told me that my insurance company had been pushing back on that part of the project but that his manager had just told him that Paul Davis Company would cover the repair as we had already spent more than $100,000 in clean up and it wouldn't be costly to replace the damaged/discolored wood. I have that in writing by the way in a text conversation with the estimator. That sounded reasonable to me so I signed off on the "clean up" part of the project.

Now to the "rebuilding" part to the project… Well I was done with my relationship with the estimator (he ghosted me once I asked him to help me with the kitchen repair and remind his manager that they promised to replace the damaged/discolored wood) so thought it made sense to contact the estimator's manager which I attempted multiple times. So I'm thinking all of my exterior trim would be repainted due to the high pressure washing (paint was 3 years old by the way) to remove the pink fire retardant, I'm thinking we’re going to be contacted by someone that can confirm the damage/broken items incurred by the contractors and lastly a company that would be working on my kitchen cabinets.

Nothing but crickets for weeks. So I reached out again to the manager via text and told him of all of the issues in this letter. He responded that "This was the first time he is hearing of any of this" and if I could be patient he would address each concern and get back to me on Tuesday... Perfect! Well if he would have responded it would have been perfect. I text him on Thursday May 28, 2020 and have yet to hear back from him. I text him a couple of weeks later thinking he meant a different Tuesday but still nothing. What really sucks is I live about 20 houses from this guy and I get to see him coming and going and he won't even make eye contact, he knows the way he/Paul Davis has treated us. All I want is my house put back to the way it was before the October 2019 Tick Fire in Santa Clarita.

    Sincerely,

So we had water damage from our upstairs bathroom to our downstairs bathroom. My insurance company suggested Paul Davis restoration. Kyle came out and reviewed everything and said, "Oh you have a busted pipe," WITHOUT tearing open the ceiling to confirm the pipe was leaking and said, "You need a plumber." So I hired a plumber. Plumber comes out and says, "No you don’t have a leaking pipe. I have no idea how he came up with that," saying every restoration company they deal with will examine the area to make sure it’s a leaking pipe. Turned out that the water was leaking thru the grout of the tub. So I had to pay the plumber for coming out so this made me upset.

Then Kyle once again said, "We can get someone out there to work on this right away. We should have this done within a week." 2 weeks later finally the tearing up our bathroom and drying out the floors it was done. Was going to hire them to do the repairs but again Kyle said, "We could come out next week, get this done within a week," again lied to once again. He kept promising and NOT delivering. They hire people that constantly lie.

I have my elderly father living with us and I had to put him in a hotel for 6 weeks before I could get everything done start to finish because we had no bathroom for him to use. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE customer service. Also when I had talk to him the last week Before moving the fans Over the phone Kyle raised his voice with me because I called him out on his lies. After a fire on Feb 25th, 2019, Paul Davis (London) still has not finalized my claim. It was a small electrical fire with most of the damage being soot and smoke. They initially estimated the damage at $168K but have invoiced my insurer for $225K in repairs. Several of the contractors who did repairs did not receive payment for over 6 months, and only upon threat of legal action did some of them get paid. Their appraisal of the damage was incorrect, underestimating the actual quality of the damage. They damaged some of the goods that they salvaged from the fire. It took them over 7 months to become active in the repairs. And it took them 6 months to partially complete the re-build. They owe me roughly $20k for materials I purchased for the re-build. And ONLY NOW 6 months after I moved back in are they demanding to see receipts for materials I bought. The competence of this company at the management level is deplorable.

I've tried several times to work with the franchise/owner (Wilson Tomala, owner of the Norcross, GA location) and he has been unwilling to honor the agreement. I've even contacted the corporate office and they have been of no help. I've basically been told they have no authority over the franchisees. Unbelievable! He hired a subcontractor and did only partial clean up, in my opinion to save money. As I'm told he was cash strap due to the pandemic. Totally unreasonable and unwilling to complete the job! Foolishly I paid in full and learned after paying that there is still debris left in my building. I would NEVER recommend this company!

INSURANCE CLAIM REMEDIATION/RESTORATION OF WATER DAMAGE IN KITCHEN: The project took 11+ weeks instead of the 7-8 weeks estimated. About 12 feet of cabinets were demoed to be replaced with newly built units. Problem is they did not "blueprint" or document the existing before demo, so days later, the restoration carpenter had nothing but an old photo I happened to have. Demo team trashed key pieces of the cabinet drawers that carpenter needed. Cabinets took longer as a result.

Restoration project manager (PM) never produced a schedule. I was pulling teeth to even get a two-day look-ahead, which was never right. PM managed everything by "hand-waiving". Extremely poor communication by the PM as to what the heck was going on. PM did not follow-up on things committed to just days earlier. Zero in writing or in notes - even though we all recognize that plans may change. But that's only if you have a "plan". Subs showed up not knowing what to do, what was next, when they should come next, when a certain item was to be completed etc.

Same subs had to return multiple times to do an hour of work. First thing the subs did upon arrival was to ask me what to do and what’s going on. Subs were not even aware of what their full scope of work was. I had several days of zero activity and no kitchen. Some scope items were ignored. PM only did occasional unannounced 10-minute drive by’s and overall coordination was nonexistent.

Frankly it got to the point that little the PM said was trustworthy. I never got the final site cleanup that we discussed. I had to do a lot of the clean-up myself. PM exhibited a hostile demeanor early in the restoration. PM was non-responsive and uninterested in emails regarding our concerns or questions. The "content manipulation" scope item is a joke. Even what paperwork they produced was sloppy. Honestly, I saw ZERO value in their overhead and profit markup. If an insurance claim were not involved, I would have stopped everything and kicked them off my property early on. One star is too many.

I often called him asking the status and what to expect and when. He never even came at the end of the repairs to see how they were done or if we were happy with them. They painted 2 rooms incorrectly. One the complete wrong color that didn't match the other walls, and the other room in a different shade. I spent several hours cleaning up spackle and dust marks, because the project took several months to complete.

All the sudden I got a bill, still thinking the work was not complete, nor complete to my satisfaction. Wouldn't the main contact come to see what was or wasn't completed. Still not to this day. I had a terrible experience with this company. They were on my insurance company's "preferred" list for an emergency roof leak. AFTER they recommended to replace the roof without looking at it, the SAME EXACT leak happened again. They refused to discount or refund the unnecessary work. They recommended a new wood floor which was not necessary after their own contractor examined it. I had to fight for refunds for work that was on the original quote that was never completed. My home inspector found several aspects of the roof that were incomplete or inadequate. One example: they did not follow standard nail-spacing practices between shingles.

As you can imagine if the big things were a disaster, there is a slew of little things that went wrong along the way to prolong this project. They demanded payment before their work was done, and they drug their feet for the extended warranty they promised for the untrustworthy work after they finally finished it. I recommend NOBODY works with this company and will be working to have them removed from this large insurer's preferred list.

We had trouble with communication from the beginning, getting contradictory information from each person. No work at all for 2-3 weeks while Paul Davis negotiates with insurance company and we lived with rough concrete floor. Finally work got done and done nicely for the most part. While furniture was being moved in and lots of people around the Project Manager asked me to sign the work completed form. He basically said “It looks nice, right? So sign that we finished the job.” In the chaos I signed, forgetting that dishwasher was not going to be reinstalled until the next week (after it has been promised same day). Project Manager also asked me to give them a rating right away, urging me to give them a 9 or a 10 because an 8 would be considered a failure. Again, I was pleased with the floor and glad to have the project done so I did the rating and gave them a 9.

Dishwasher was to have been installed at 9:00 on Monday so I was there to be sure everything went OK. Didn’t happen, postponed until Tuesday. But he assured me I didn’t need to be there. So for the first time since the project started I slept in and didn’t go to the house. Only late this evening did I learn that the dishwasher DIDN’T FIT as I had consistently been assured it would. WITHOUT CALLING ME, the plumber and Project Manager cut into our kitchen counter top to make it fit. We’d bought a brand new dishwasher for almost $500 as well as a pan. We could easily have chosen to have the old one repaired for $250-300 instead if we’d known the new one wouldn’t fit. And we would probably never have played cutting into the countertop. But because we were not consulted, I lost those options. Jacob and I have been in almost daily contact for the last week or so and I was available all day. I could have been there within 20 minutes if I had been called!

You feel like I’ve been conned into signing the completion paper and giving a good rating then been left with a mess in the kitchen. I believe we deserve either a suitable repair or restoration. But the Project Manager is now saying OUR CLAIM IS CLOSED. I know, my error in signing the form but also poor work and communication on the Project Manager’s part! My rating would now be a three.

We are still dealing with the consequences of their incomplete work. There is no accountability and their GM Brock **, has proved that he does not care about their lack of customer service and irresponsibility of their project manager. I could provide a long list of the items that were incomplete or just not done. It took many emails and complaints to get anything fixed, and most of what was promised was not done. They also did not communicate anything to us unless we reached out first. They blew our project off initially. While we thought they were supposed to be working on our house, they were in fact doing NOTHING. The received no communication or witnessed no work from May-Sept 2018 because their designer quit and no one was being held accountable.

Our home was supposed to be complete 10/31. They continued to drag their feet and show how irresponsible they are. They even forgot to put in hose bibs (which is mandatory to pass inspection) and somehow their inspector missed it? My husband caught it. When they went to install them they destroyed landscaping, ripped out a bush and left it in the middle of the yard. When we told them about it, they said they would remove it and never did. We had to remove it ourselves. Who does that kind of shoddy work? We had to decide to fix the remaining items they left undone because it was so labor intensive to get them to do what they were contracted to do. What an awful company. I was billed equally for two. I asked them to check for what I felt was mold. They said there was none. They didn't pull the insulation and do a proper inspection. Mold was actually covering my ceiling... confirmed by the second company I hired to treat it.

They charged me for fans to dry out cabinets then charged me to take them out. That they never could have been saved. I asked them not to take any garbage. They took a bag and charged me hundreds of dollars. Finally, when I told them I no longer wanted their help they sent two little girls to pick up the fans and a 2 dehumidifier to take back to their office approx 30 k away. They billed me 8 hours to pick up equipment and another 2 to clean it. I could have dropped it off or they could have sent one person. Pick up cost me 400.00!!!! Fist off understand this is ongoing. So we had roof damage that caused a leak in two of our rooms and hallway 12/1/19. Nexxus Solutions Group, through my insurance, sent out Paul Davis Restoration out of Stockton Ca. They came out, tarped our room and made a plan for removing the damaged ceiling and walls. Per my insistence they removed more than expected in the ceiling and found mold. As for the walls it's routine to drill holes and run fans to dry it if there is no insulation. With the mold however they weren't able to run fans and store out the drywall on one wall. They did the mold remediation, and everything past.

Never having had to deal with anything like this before I thought all was well. At this point the only problem I had had was with one staff member in the office. She was rude and if she didn't know the answer to a question she would give a wrong answer or get snippy. EVERYONE who came to my home was polite and respectful. There were policy limitations for the mold, $2500, and the original estimate was around $1700. We proceeded with the mold work with the understanding if it was to go over the limits they were to inform me as that would be out of pocket.

Now "everything" is done on their end. A week or so has passed since they "finished". The next thing I know I'm getting a call that the final bill is ready and I owe them over $200 because it went above my limits. I was shocked! This was the first I heard about this. I asked for a detailed bill and looked it over. I was charged for things that hadn't been done! They billed $150.17 for sanding 56 square feet of flooring in one room and $287.?? for sanding the floor in the other room. It was an overcharge of $429.?? I called and talked to the office manager and told her this wasn't right, the floors were not sanded. She said she would look into it.

I called back two days later and she said she had made some adjustments but that she didn't have time to talk to me, that she would call back at the end of the week. Well that time came and no call, so I called again, she not in that day. No one knows anything about an adjustment. So I call nexxus. At this point I allowed Nexxus to take over for me. To date the bill has not been fixed. Another wall they marked for moisture was left unopened unable to dry out, more mold grew, a new company had to come fix that. The owner or the office manager won't call nexxus back. Corporate had to get involved, they still won't respond. We'll have to see how it pans out. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PAUL DAVIS!

I told the UPC insurance adjuster if I were bidding out a job, Paul Davis would not be invited to the bid – that’s how poor they were in our insurance restoration. As it turns out Paul Davis was one of UPC’s better contractors. If that is the case, I would hate to see the folks at the bottom of the list. First, and I am sure this is a standard line to make someone feel good and that they account for something, they will tell you they can have folks onsite the next day. Well, that is myth #1, they can’t and didn’t. Most of the time all we got was, we'll get to it next week.

Paul Davis and their representative (Ron **) basically showed little to no interest in our project until it was too late and things had been done incorrectly. First, the painters showed up and had no idea what they were supposed to paint! They had no paint and had no clue what was going on. Fortunately, we’re honest and told them only what they were supposed to paint. Still, they managed to screw that up by painting over electrical outlets and getting paint on the ceramic tile floor. They also managed to toss out all of the switch and outlet covers so we had to replace them. I know that is minor but it is also representative of their attention to detail which to me is a reflection of the contractor’s (Paul Davis) attention.

Paul Davis’s tile person was the absolute worse. Not only can he not lay tile but he cleaned up his equipment in our landscaping! So, imagine all the gray mortar in your black mulch and on your plants (one of ours died due to all the mortar on it). He also got mortar on the red brick paver driveway and was supposed to clean it up, which he didn’t. The floor was so bad Paul Davis had to bring in a second tile person who did a little better. But by that time, I wanted all these people out of the house (took 2 months to correct which is absurd). I cannot recommend this company. They are very poor in customer service and caring about a quality job.

I wish I could give negative stars - HORRIBLE COMPANY, RUN DON'T WALK FROM THIS COMPANY!! We had a waterline leak that caused damage to our home including drywall and tile. They were on the ball with getting the floor dried out and getting the mitigation done, however, everything crashed after that. Although I can say that while they were painting my kitchen floor with Kilz to protect against any further mold, they painted the side of my BLACK fridge white, they didn't clean it, they didn't even tell me. I had to find out after they left, and it's on the side of the fridge which I cannot clean because I cannot move the fridge by myself.

It's been almost 4 weeks since the mitigation ended, we had a contractor at my home on Wednesday (8.7.19), who basically told my husband (who by the way just had knee surgery) that my children and I needed to move the fridge so that he could drywall behind it because he was going to be there alone the following day. He also told my husband that he hated his job. He did not cover anything in my home so the drywall that he did the dust went throughout my home. When he arrived on Thursday (8.8.19), he took it upon himself to just walk into my home. He did not knock on the door, even though that's the lie that he told his supervisor (I checked my cameras). He literally walked right into my garage and into my home. Asked my 15 year old son "so what are we going to do with this fridge?" He's the most unprofessional contractor I have ever dealt with.

When I got ahold of Paul Davis and the manager on the project, at first he sounded concerned and kicked his worker off the job. But when I spoke to him today he sounded less concerned about his contractors actions. Now my house isn't completed, I'm going to have to find another contractor and wait even longer to have the repairs done. All throughout the entire process they have been uncertain about finding a painter to do a two tone textured paint, even going as far as asking my husband and my children if we had paint for the upstairs and basement. They have continued to be slow in getting my home back into pre-incident status and don't seem to care that their contractors are costing them jobs. They told me 30% more then it was way too more. They did a poor quality job and when asked the estimated repair cost took them three days to give me an overprice charges with the justification they have insurance prices, however, I do not believe insurance overpay them. My friends and neighbors are the witness of the expensive bad service and poor quality, that it is not only my opinion but from other that they help me to evaluate the job done for the price billed. To avoid issues with this company I desk with another one and best prices quality and was able to manage the insurance refund of the total liability. If I could pick "zero" as a rating, I would. We had a fire at our rental property. Property is 100 miles round trip from our home. Representative from Paul Davis set an appointment time to look at the damage and never showed up. We called him to find out where he was and he sent a "text" back saying he was in a meeting. We traveled an hour to get to our property only to wait all day for a call back that we never got. The next morning, Paul Davis just shows up. We didn't want to deal with a company that can't even get their appointment dates correct or return calls, and asked him to leave the premises. We ended up with a wonderful Family owned restoration company that not only confirmed their appointment with us, but also showed up exactly when he said. Buyer Beware... I would not recommend this company to anyone.

I've been a pastor for over 50 years and I've never done business with a company that did such poor job as a service company. First, they are unfairly high in their charges. When I chose to use a less expensive competitor I was met with resentment and they made me pay for it later. Second, it is obvious to me that their main interest is not to provide service.

Squeezing the customer's dollar is more important than providing service to the customer. Third, they didn't properly file with my insurance company and that resulted in a $570.18 penalty out of my pocket. When they billed me for that amount I refused to pay and they threatened to turn me over to a collection atency. I wasn't worried that they could hurt my good credit standing so I ignored their threats. Finally they put a lien on my house. My next step would have to be small claims court but I did not want to waste any more cash on the job so I paid those unfair charges. Paul Davis, Inc. doesn't deserve your business. Buyer Beware!

Representative reported carpet in basement was wall to wall with underpad. It was a throw rug with no underpad. I had folded up the throw rug as it was soaked with water. The small size of the folded rug would have been an obvious giveaway that the rug was a throw rug without underpad. The Company was given tile to test for asbestos. Was never tested. This is a serious concern as the tiling has come up from the concrete floor. Their negligence is potentially harmful to homeowners health. Lack of transparency and honesty indicates a company that is dangerous to customers health. Do not use this company!!!

Paul Davis quoted us $12,000 and a 1 month timeline to complete the repairs. $28,000 in repair costs and an additional $12,000 in storage costs later and the project is still not complete. We are on our 5th project manager, most of the others were fired by the company. At this time there is still no plan or estimated date of completion. It appears they did not pull all the required permits for the work they did. The work that has been done is rushed and shoddy. They got stucco all over our artificial turf and the tiled patio which must be replaced. Wells Fargo used to have the worst ranked customer service experience in my life. The last of September we had a slab week. The plumber. And out and quoted us two estimates. One for just a repair and two to do a repair because he said these types of leaks are reoccurring if not the pipes aren’t repiped. My insurance agency paid for the repair. They came out and did a half decent job with unfinished work. They did not put my fuo back in place, unplugged electronics, did not plug them back up in our in place, removed all my smoke alarms, did not put them back in place. Wires were just hanging from the ceiling. Moved my toilet to put vinyl down and did not secure it back to the floor.

Every time I sit to use the toilet it shakes and moves from one side to the next. I have paint drippings in both my bath tubs. Came home one day and in my second bathroom they were storing paint on the shower curtain which was laid inside the tub. I assume he curtain got covered in paint because it “disappeared”. They never finish my floors and on Thanksgiving Day the leak was back. This time my insurance agency decided to do the route. They just came out three weeks ago to look at the damages, get measurements and have me pick out flooring. They said I would hear from them at the end of the week. It’s going on week three and I have not heard ANYTHING!! Yet, my floor and carpet is torn up. Here it is almost February and they had been called since November.

Originally we looked forward to working with this company because they were approved by our Insurance Company. We had extensive water damage due to an ice maker leak. At first they came out on time and did the mitigation in a timely manner. This took approximately 10-14 days - as they said it would. After that it went downhill. They had our floors and kitchen cabinets ripped up and did not bother to schedule contractor to come out and get the job started. About 4 weeks after the mitigation process started I finally asked when we would be able to get started on the restoration and was told it would be about 3 weeks.

I accepted this even though I was thinking that this should have been scheduled during the first week because they knew how long (or approximately how long) mitigation would take. 3 weeks later the project manager tells me that they have not scheduled anyone to come out and it would be another 3 weeks. I don't mind telling you that I lost it at that point and decided I could do a better job getting contractors out to my house than they could. Needless to say that they had a contractor out the next business day. This contractor was wonderful. He and his team did good work and did it in a timely manner. Then comes time to get the plumbing hooked back up.

Keep in mind that we are now almost FIVE months later (including the initial 6 weeks delay). The plumber is scheduled to come out two days in advance with my husband taking off work ALL DAY to be at the house so they could get the work done. At 4:30 they haven't come and we are told that the plumber would be out late. Come to find out they aren't coming at all and MIGHT be there the next day. Paul Davis does not have their Project Manager's following up with the people they have scheduled. It is terrible customer service and they sure will not be paying my husband’s pay off work to wait at home for them all day. I would NEVER use this company as a project management resource again. An individual could do the same job and it would take less time and cost less money.

In May of 2018, we experienced an electrical fire in our home. I was 9 months pregnant with our first child (I was at the hospital for a checkup and non-stress test when I got the call that our house was on fire), and absolutely overwhelmed by the damage to our home - the PECO panel had been removed, so the house was without electricity, the entire first floor reeked of a strange smoke that burned my lungs and eyes, I wasn’t sure where my dogs and cats were... suddenly, someone appeared, who the firefighters assured me would take care of all of our problems. He quickly called someone out who secured our broken-in front door and tarped off the hole in the side of our house, he took us and our pets to a motel to spend the night, he promised us that we’d be back in our home and as good as new in 6 weeks.

Four and a half months later, we’re finally back in our home. The electronics and textiles cleaning company that Paul Davis subcontracted to (CDRN) stole 2 of our PlayStation 4s. They can't find a signed football jersey of my husband’s. It’s been 3 weeks and they’re apparently refusing to give us the detailed list of contents so that we can validate that there is nothing else missing (we’ve asked dozens of times). They still haven’t returned my wedding gown or veil, they damaged two expensive purses (one Coach, one Betsey Johnson) and the bag from my wedding gown has a large stain in it. Most of our clothing was shrunk, some of it has holes in it, they didn’t return the charging cable for my Dyson vacuum, etc.

Paul Davis themselves replaced siding on one side of my house, then dented the brand new vinyl siding by hitting it with our gate. They installed carpeting going into the doorway at a ridiculous crooked angle. The painting in the bathroom has drips, they didn’t remove the toilet roll holder or the towel rods so there is paint all over them and the recessed wooden medicine cabinet (it’s like they didn’t even tape it off), they have paint all over the side of my wooden steps, they have paint all over my banister, the brand new drywall that they installed has weird dents and dings all over it.

They bonded my Pella front door (“we will make it look as good as new”) and then their painter hung plastic and sprayed it in his garage, there is fuzz and debris embedded in the paint... I complained, so they sanded and rolled the top half of the door, so my very expensive front door is now textured from the door handle and above, and smooth with fuzz and debris from the door handle and below. The quality of the work that they performed (for which they charged my insurance a premium! For example, to seal/prime and paint a 14 x 12 bedroom it was over $700!) was sub-par, to put it mildly. We just had two managers to our home last night to review the poor work, and they told us that the first guy “was a salesman” and that’s why they didn’t perform as promised.

They told us “that’s another department” when we complained that they didn’t clean our home (when the cleaning portion of Paul Davis was at the house working in September, and we pointed out things that they hadn’t done, they tried to tell us that we’d caused that dirt and that it was from us living in the house - but we weren’t back in yet, and hadn’t been in the house since May!)... it’s all Paul Davis, and these excuses are ridiculous. They ended the conversation by trying to get more money out of us, accusing us of withholding funds that our insurance company has not yet disbursed (and the Paul Davis project manager had told us that they would be paid directly), telling us that “the checks have numbers, they’re traceable".

Oh, and when the 2nd to last estimate was provided and I questioned being charged for about $750 in work that they had not performed, the project manager got very aggressive and told me “if you want me to take out the things that we didn’t do, I’ll put in all of the things that we did do that I didn’t charge you for,” and the last estimate was about $400 higher. They charged over $30,000 to gut one room, to paint the first floor of my home, stairway and hallway upstairs, and to recarpet two sets of steps... they already charged a premium, there were no “freebies,” and the quality of work is so poor, I’m furious. Bottom line - ambulance chasing predators, using this company is more headache than it’s worth, avoid at all costs.

Paul Davis Restoration of Utah came out in a timely manner and did the demolition and clean up from the emergency.

For the reconstruction, I decided to use Paul Davis Restoration of Utah because they had done the emergency work and I didn’t want them to blame any encountered problems on the emergency clean up or demolition because it was them who did it. Throughout the reconstruction, Paul Davis Restoration of Utah, continually had the wrong people there on the wrong day to do work they weren’t qualified to do. Because of this they ended up doing damage to parts of our existing house that were not damaged as part of the flood. They damaged our cabinets and broke our granite countertops during removal and re-installation. Throughout the reconstruction process we have had to live in a hotel, go weeks without a kitchen sink or water, wash dishes in our bathroom or in buckets, and go weeks without a stove to cook on.

As of today, 5 months later we are still waiting for them to replace damaged cabinets and damage that they did to our appliances during the reconstruction stage. I have contacted: The president and discussed the problem once. When I tried to call him again, he had his calls screened and would not return my call when I left a message. The project estimator about the problems that we are having and even though he offers reassurances of the work being done, we continue to have long delays. The project manager constantly. The only time we hear from him is when we reach out to him. He will reply and make some commitment only to see the time go by with his commitment not happening. I have never been in a situation like this before where people just don’t do what they say and when escalated within the company, nothing happens.

I kept getting excuses that this one was sick; this one's eye hurt; etc. etc. At this time I had moved everything my from bedroom (except the king bed, two nightstands, one dresser, one bookshelf and a treadmill), walk-in closet, and two hallway closets to my living room, dining room and kids bedrooms. Two guys showed up for a total of about 12 hours over three days and then they were finished.

My son texted me the last day as I was in a meeting to let me know they were done already! I got home and THEY WERE NOT EVEN HALF DONE. The bedroom had only one wall completely painted; the ceiling in the walk in closet and in the hallway were already peeling off; you can see where they cut in the corners and ceiling with the paint; curtains and some furniture had never been moved; only two walls in the hallway were painted, and the fire alarms were never installed/replaced. I was hot and immediately called Paul **. He said "There must be a mistake. These are my best guys!"

He came out a few days later after playing phone tag. He inspected everything and said "Well it's not that bad". Yes, it IS THAT BAD! Before any work was started I had to pay $1406 up front with the balance due upon completion. Mr. ** assured me he would email me by Sunday to let me know when the guys would be back to finish the job. I never heard from him again. I have called and emailed multiple times with no response. This debacle all started in May, with the contract signed mid June and promises to be done by the first week of July. As of today, it is not completed. I will never recommend this company.

The Insurance Co, Olympus FL, made us use PDR for the restoration. In the beginning, the dryer guys, it was ok. When the actual restoration work began, we were told, at a face to face meeting, that it would be 4-6 weeks and they promised that our home would be back to its original beauty or even better. I have also taken time from work to stay at the house and explain to THEIR contractors what needed to be done. They broke more water pipes and re-flooded the home. Thanks goodness I was there because they had no idea how to turn the water off! Back to the drying stage. They used MY towels and window treatments to clean it up.

They have ruined bathroom accessories, fans, outdoor furniture, pool filters and other things in my home. They have never given us a project plan, nor any idea as to who would be at the house to work and when. We would call them and not get a response as to who would be at the home. Then while at work, they would call at 10am saying people were there and the house was locked... I ask you - would you leave your home open all day everyday "just in case" someone decides to show up? Their owner, Jim Ingold and his project Manager Robert are rude. Robert actually yelled and swore at my husband. We are the customer...they should be concerned about us. There is so much more I could write; the bottom line - do not hire or let your insurance company allow them to do any restorations in your home. In March of 2017 a house I rent out had a tenant who accidentally caused a fire which did quite a bit of damage to the inside of the home. The house was filled with smoke and windows/flooring was damaged throughout due to the fire and smoke. My landlord insurance company recommended Paul Davis. The adjuster from the insurance met with me and the Paul Davis representative to walk through the home and determine coverages and restoration work to be done. All was good at first. Once the insurance check came in, Paul Davis requested 1/3 upfront, 1/3 when work began and the final 1/3 when work was completed. This was not a small amount of money we're talking about.

Since they had already actually started the work - I handed over 2/3 of the check. After that, it was like pulling teeth to even get a hold of someone from Paul Davis. If I didn't reach out, I didn't hear anything. If I did and I got through, I was given excuse on top of excuse as to why the work wasn't getting done, including injuries on their side and them being busy. Finally in July I was told the initial work was completed and I should go inspect to create a final list of things for them to do to finish the work. The work that was done was ABSOLUTELY ATROCIOUS. Tile was installed slanted and without proper cuts around the perimeter. Paint was literally 6 inches to a foot away from light and outlet switches. No outlet/switch covers were put back on.

Entire areas behind things were not painted. The paint was all the wrong color from what I had told them - which was to paint it what the old color was. Instead it was all painted white. After all of this, I got in touch with the insurance who made calls to this company and I was told work would be redone and made right where it was wrong. I contacted again after 2 weeks and still hadn't heard back from the new contact I had. After a month I finally got through and was told nothing was done yet! They are absolutely terrible. We had a ceiling fall from moisture in one of our upstairs bedrooms. Paul Davis was sent to us by Liberty Mutual Insurance Company (our carrier). From the start they were sloppy, not on time, and not very professional. They removed all the ceilings in every room and closet on the 2nd floor. They did not properly cover our floors which caused numerous scratches in the wood flooring. They put our furniture in a pod in the driveway in a very sloppy and unprofessional manner. Some of my furniture was scratched. We had to empty our closets and rearrange the pod ourselves.

When it came time for them to do the mold remediation, they treated the wall with some kind of material in a poor manner, so now the contractor will have to sand the walls before they paint. They did not put down any cover on the floors before they sprayed the sealant which is totally unacceptable. The sealant that they put on the wood joists in the ceiling were sloppily sprayed causing dripping onto the floors and now my floors will have to be redone (sanded and polyurethaned). I have never worked with a bunch of unprofessional group of people ever. This is a company I would never recommend to anyone.

After a fire at my home, I signed a contract for emergency repairs, including turbo fans and dehumidifiers to keep the house from further misfortunes, beyond the fire-riddled sections. The promised equipment never came, and so over time mold and mildew took over my basement and the rooms above. Much of the contents could not be cleaned or restored, and they are not accepting responsibility.

Took advantage of a sick senior. Had her sign a one page contract while she was alone in the hotel. Had three extensions, work still has problems, it has been 2 years. The franchisee S. ** finally came out after two years when I contacted an Arbitrator about the issues. New floor was laid and has cracks in it all throughout the house. Floor trim was not installed correctly or not installed at all. Stucco on the outside was not completed to the foundation, so mice were getting in the house. Garage door hung incorrectly, mice getting in. Deposited materials from job site on the neighbor's property. Hook up stove wrong, (Gas Leaks). Cheap materials used and high price charged. So much more wrong, too many to list.

Hired PDNF after hurricane Matthew. It is now 5.31.17 and the project is still not complete! Very poor workmanship and NO ATTENTION to detail to the point where I'm pointing out the obvious issues and trash to the owner that shows little care. They left TRASH, NAILS and VERY POOR CRAFTSMANSHIP (the list is very long of errors) all over the yard (my dog got a nail in his paw)! WARNING - do not call them! Read the other reviews of the same issues. A NIGHTMARE to manage this company, as this is what you have to do for them to get anything done, and when they are done, it's poor quality.

The speed of service I was more than happy with. Liked that they are available 24 hours and willing to work with you around your schedule which makes them a place I would recommend them to anyone. The reliability of Paul Davis is more than exceptional. They are very fast with the process and also flexible with scheduling when you have a specific time and day in mind. I was happy with the value of the service. It is hard to find a company who are not only flexible and professional but also have friendly and great customer service and willing to work with you and answer all your questions.

Was on time. Spent the entire time working and being efficient and not spending time on the phone or sitting around eating lunch, etc. Thoughtful crew for sure. Finished the job ahead of schedule. Cleanup was outstanding. Efficient work crew. Finished a couple hours ahead of schedule and very well done. Have never had an issue since we had them over to work. Would definitely recommend to anyone who was interested in having this sort of work done. Cost was less that of similar businesses to do the same work. Was under budget in actuality. Would recommend for sure. A+++ service.

The service was great. You will feel that you get everything you pay for and you will love the job that get done. You will love how this company treats. The job was done in a flash but not too fast to where I feel they rushed thru it. I could see the quality of the work they did and was very happy with the time it took to do it. They were there when they said they would be. Actually got the job done early. Great. So I would say very reliable service with no complaints. You cannot beat the service you get for what you pay. There is nothing that matches how great of a job they do for the value that you pay.

Customer service is always very friendly and helpful. If I have any questions they can always directly answer me instead of switching me to another representative. The service is always fast and usually the job gets done very early in the schedule. There are ever any delays with this service, I am fully satisfied with the speed. This product is extremely reliable in that it always works and intends for what its purpose is for. There are never any unreliability to their services or products. The value for this product is high in that the price for the quality of this service is overwhelming. This service goes above and beyond in terms of its value.

The customer service of this company is one of its top aspects and they will help you for almost any problem you got to ask them. Always enjoyed talking to a representative. They did take longer than they said they would to remove the mold, but they still did it and that is what matters to me. Doesn't bother me too much. The service they provided for me proved that they actually care about the environment you live in and they take their time removing what you tell them to. The company has a higher price than most other companies doing this job, but its service and its quality labor proves this company superior over the others.

We have them monthly. It's good that we have them the way we do, keeps everyone out of trouble. The value is very good, you get everything and more for your money. In most cases they were extremely courteous. Nothing was left untouched, but all in all a great experience with the exception of a couple people who were temperamental and it showed. I had the pick of the litter. I was actually able to either go online or speak with someone on the phone and I chose online. Did not have any site issues or connectivity and it was a lot of fun. I was greeted by someone who was professional and thorough so it was a great experience. I also was totally impressed with how pleasant they were when responding to questions and it left me feeling important. Anytime you look at it is a cost but also what you get is the importance. In this case, I was assured my needs were met and they demonstrated what it is they do and how applicable it was to my company.

The inspection that I notice was a leak in the area. So that's when I called for a schedule appoint for the people of the company to come out and fix the situation. The service from the company overall was very good and nice. The service was very excellent and great. I would try the service again. I just hope I get a discount the second time lol.

Over 2 years ago, we found mold in and around my kitchen sink. My Homeowners Ins. came in and then sent Paul Davis out to look at it. I never once had a choice in who was going to do the work. They came in and packed up my kitchen and blocked everything off. For over 6 weeks they left a huge hole in my kitchen floor etc. Finally after I exploded they came out and put the underlayment down. They left me without a sink, so I was doing the dishes in my bathroom sink. That was until my neighbor brought over a garage sink, plywood and 2 sawhorses, so I had something to use.

Needless to say this went on for over 2 years and they still haven't finished. Since they took out 2 cabinets, I knew that the new ones would not match. SO I had them come over after I sanded down 46 cabinet doors and 18 drawers, to bare wood. They send over this idiot who tells me I have to put all the doors back on, SO he can nail them, shut to spray stain and varnish on them. RIGHT!!! I told him I will be doing the work my self.

The insurance company paid me to refinish my own cabinet doors. And they turned out beautifully. As of today's date of August 14, 2015 the job still isn't finished. It was started June 2013. A friend of mine had her entire house done, walls removed etc. and it only took them 2 months. For one reason they didn't have Paul Davis doing the work. ANOTHER thing too, they take on too many jobs and the ones they start never get finished. I have been very patient with them, and at this point my attorney will be taking over. I do not recommend Paul Davis to change a light bulb.

We had a roof fire and PDR was hired for the restoration. After 6 weeks they abandoned the job site telling us the job was complete, only to find lots of work not finished or never done. Now they have put a lien on our house for $3,046.27. The work not done comes to more than that not including what my insurance has already paid them for work not done. They also caused damage to our furnace and left water pipe unhooked.

We had a house fire in 2004(9-26-04). PDR did the re-build by sub-contracting labor in our local area. The jobs done and poorly done at that. We moved back in in May of 2005(5-13-05). It took 8 mos. since our return home. There has been several discrepancies about the final work. 1 is that the garden window that was installed has broken and NO ONE WILL REPLACE IT. We notified PDR after this happened and they played around at passing the buck for a yr. so now warranty has expired, we have the replacement glass and everyone refuses to do the work....still passing the buck.

Other things like the wall moves when the wind is extreme. I thought I was seeing things at first. Doors pulling out of their hinges, the screws work themselves loose. The sheet rock is so thin that I need to anchor everything in order to hang the simplest picture. The indoor framing around the doors and windows have begun to splinter and dry out because the installer use a spray on polyurethane. I watched him to it, they left floors uneven, the cupboard are made so cheap that we've had the glue some of them back together and re nail the track that they slide on.The house is just a symbol of shoddy work!!
