This is the second time in the past few months that I have sent a payment to PCH. It has cleared my bank and PCH tells me they do not have the payment. The last is a payment for Log Cabins Magazine. The invoice was for $15.95, which I mailed at the post office on 1 July 2011. The check was cleared by my bank on 7 July. Yet, I have received three (answered one in vain! Called today!). The rep today was polite but could not find the $15.95 posted anywhere in my account.
I asked her whose account was it posted to, because it came out of my account. PCH is now insisting this magazine was $17.95. When I said I refused to pay my bank $30.00 for a photo of the check for a bill half that, she said I could send a copy of my statement, with privacy info marked out. I have already returned three broken glass items at my expense. I bought two bottles of SuperGlue and paid for that. A month or so later when I opened them to use the glue, the bottles looked as though there never had been any glue in them! Now, again, I have paid, my check has cleared and there's no record of it at PCH! I'd been playing this sweepstakes on and off for about 30 years now. It seems the only thing I can win from PCH is a hard time.

In the last 2 days I have received 5 phone calls each telling me that I have won an 8 million dollar prize. One call was from NY; they said it was PCH. According to their scam alert section on the web page, they never call winners to notify them. 3 others were from a private number not available. The 5th was a follow up from Las Vegas asking why I haven't paid my registration fee to claim my prize. I told them it was illegal to ask for money to win, and hung up. Judging by the way one guy talked to me, calling me "sweetheart," I think he thought I was a vulnerable old lady. I am 70 but not old and not stupid. Just thought you might want to alert others who might be.

Deborah (or Debra) called to tell my 91-year-old mother (who I am writing for) that she won $100,000 in yearly payments for life. All she had to do was pay $900 in insurance. My mother said she didn't have that kind of money. Deborah got it down to $200 and said my mother needed to wire the money that day and that the next day PCH would be at her door with the winning money. She asked my mother if she wanted publicity. My mother said no. She was to call the woman's number 1-678-708-6185 as soon as the money was wired to **. Fortunately, my cousin intervened before the wire was sent and called the women to question this.
The woman was very rude and asked to speak to my mother. She told my mother that because [my cousin] spoke rudely to her, that she was taking my mother off the list and my mother would not be receiving her money. Of course, my mother was heartbroken until she realized she was a victim of a scam. This is a heinous crime against trusting seniors who want to be able to leave something for their family. PCH needs to send something to their consumers in the MAIL (seniors don't have email) warning about this scam.

Publishers Clearinghouse Sweepstakes personnel, John **/Deborah ** called my home phone and told me I won $250,000.00, but needed to pay $650 for insurance on the pkg (my check for $250,000.00). I told them I would have to speak to my lawyer about that because of so many "frauds" that are out there. They were very rude to me. That did not seem right coming from Publishers Clearinghouse Sweepstakes from what I've seen on TV. If that was a fraud, it needs to be stopped right away. I received a Publisher's Clearing House email to win $5000 a month for life. I went to the site to enter but you get trapped in the entry form and all the sponsor popups. If you try to hit continue without either accepting an offer or giving them personal information, it will keep popping up the same page until you pick something. No button to click to say, "No thank you". I just wanted to enter the contest.
Then within minutes, I had sales people calling my cell phone and texting me. The website is misleading and tricky. Then you try to call to complain and you have to go round and round with the phone system and all they said was they can take me off their email list but nothing they can do about the info others get from my visit to their site. You can not email them to complain unless you are on their email list!

I had my son, on the computer, sign me up for a chance to win 5000 a week, for life. They lead him on through-out the process, digging for all my personal information, prompting him to buy books we don't want, and never completing the application because we didn't buy. So in the end, they ended up with all my information, but I'm not entered in the lottery. They said 'no purchase necessary'.

I have an account with Publishers Clearing House which I pay in full with a given account number. I am receiving billing statements from the same people for an unknown product, and now are in the process of "branding" me for non-payment. This bill is under a new and different account number; and I am not able to "get onto the computer" to find that account number anywhere, and try to find out what this is all about. This secondary billing could well be a scam or fraudulent billing. I am not able to find a method of talking to a person. I spent over 20 minutes - mostly waiting - for a person; they then transferred me to another "different department", then was asked to wait another 20 minutes on the phone to talk with whoever that might be. The secondary billing was not using the same account number as the one used by PCH.

I have two major complaints: First, being billed for things I never received. I have ordered off and on for over 40 years and am now threatened with collection for items I never received.
Second, just recently I went online and entered several PCH sweepstakes. Within these entries, there were several pop-ups, "You have won a $1,000 gift card" (I entered this 15 times with the same result). First, there were offers for products and services I already had or didn't want, and I was able to skip these offers. Second screen came up, "You must choose 2 offers (again, nothing I wanted) so I skipped. Next screen: "In order to claim your $1,000 gift card, you must complete nine (! ) offers below." These were not free --again--products and services that would cost a lot over time and all needed a credit/debit number, which, considering my past history with PCH, I would not give out.
Needless to say, I did not win (per PCH) the gift card (which, when I figured out the total costs of what they wanted would have been more than $1,000) or any of the other prizes I've supposedly won over the last few months.
I have never received any of these prizes. Instead, I have been billed for items I never ordered and never received. PCH is a scam.

PCH sent me an email last year, offering their products. One of them was baseball cards. Having ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild, I thought that this will be good for birthday or Christmas gifts. PCH's advertisement stated in bold letters,"No Two Cards Alike." Upon receiving the cards, I examined each card. I noticed that two of the cards have the same design, another three cards have the same design and another four cards have the same design. I immediately wrote a snail mail letter voicing my complaint. PCH never had the decency of responding. Therefore, I still have the cards in its original box and refused to pay. I certainly will not be returning the cards on my dime. To this date, PCH has not responded to my handwritten letter and I am irate to no end!

At first, when I would send in payments, I would send in all of the statements with one check. I would document what I was paying on each item on the statement for that product. However, I would keep getting notices stating that I did not make the payment(s). I had to call them on several different occasions and tell them that the payment was made. Then, when I told them how I sent the payment in, they commented, "That is where the problem is. Our billing system only reads one item and not multiple items. So, when you sent in the payment, it read it for one item and distributed the remainder of the payment on older order. You have to send in one check per item when you make a payment."
Apparently, this is their way to charge you late fees when you make payments on something. So, I did what they said I should do only to be told that now, because I am sending one check per item and I am sending them in one envelope, this is leading to another yet another problem. They claim that humans are not controlling their billing system, but who is opening the envelopes? The statements/ checks/money orders have to get out of the envelopes somehow. Plus, there are times that I do not have a statement to send in with a payment. I finally asked Ms. Emily ** if could please have a print-out of my account so I can keep my own record and a running balance on it when I send in payments.
When I opened my mail today, 4/11/11, I received a consolidated bill stating that the late fees were being applied to three items that I had already paid on 4/2/11. So, apparently, because I sent in payments in one envelope but with separate checks, the payments were not placed on those items. This has become a very upsetting situation and someone needs to look into it. I have been on the telephone just about weekly with them and all I am getting is a run-around about how to make payments, how their billing system is, things crossed in the mail, etc.

None of the PCH entries or games work. Every icon that you click on gives you an "experiencing technical difficulties" or a "bad request" message and you go no further and cannot submit an entry. If you should try again later, you will be blocked with the message that you've already played for the daily entry, even though you haven't. You cannot submit a message or complaint to PCH because every customer service icon gets you a bad request error. I have Vista and IE8 on my system and all of these games and entries worked fine last week, but every attempt to play since last Thursday or Friday has met with "experiencing 'technical difficulties" or "bad request" error.
I assume that they want you to look at their ads and buy their products as the reason why they offer their games and contests, so either they're not aware of the problem or they simply don't care that it's impossible now to play the games or enter the contests. It's not an earthshaking or tragic problem, but if they're going to offer games and contests to the public, the games and contests should work or it's all a fraud or joke. I would say this is a scam but no money is lost. I can't get through to PCH so I don't know where else to forward this complaint.

I received a letter stating that PCH was suspending my ordering privileges due to a previous unpaid balance. They said that I owed them over $878.00. I told them that that couldn't be possible. Not only was the customer service representative rude, so was her supervisor. I then was told that their "computer system" had combined my account with that of my mother because we have the same first and last name and because we live in the same address, yet they couldn't explain to me how that was fair. I was told that this "consolidation" occurred on February 17, 2001 by their "limited" computer system. They supposedly give out millions a year, and yet they have a shoddy computer system?
I got absolutely nowhere with the supervisor. I spoke with different persons but got the same information. Only difference was that the 1st representative told me that the error was due to our last name while the supervisor blamed it on my email address. I was then told that they would probably have to "write it off" because of me! There is no way they are owed $878; not even close! But their behavior, actions, etc. are absolutely abhorrent! This seems illegal, a fraud even.
I am so angry right now that I'm almost certain I may be leaving something out. I've started a "diary" of events and was making notes during the conversation. The name of the 1st representative fails me, but the supervisor claimed to be the same name on my letter, Emily **, Customer Service Manager. Feel free to contact me absolutely anytime for any further information! On a side note, now I know why I've never won anything. PCH is a fraud as far as I'm concerned. Just my 2 cents. Thank you kindly for your time and consideration and for having a forum for people like me to voice their complaints.

I work for PCH and would like to inform you that all of the complaints and concerns mentioned on this site really could be taken care of by calling customer service at 800 645 9242. They have a 120-day any reason return policy, an extremely customer friendly policy when dealing with items you were billed for/received yet had not ordered. I can tell you from personally entering people that purchase makes no difference in your chances of winning. In fact, your mail backs are scanned and entered into the contests before we have processed if you have placed an order or not. If you don't want to receive further mailing, we will remove you from the list with a simple call. If you don't want to do business with us, that is your right but we are not deliberately scamming people. If people demonstrate that they believe they have to purchase to win and cannot be convinced, otherwise, we simply will not do business with them any longer.

I would be informed how well I was doing. The House reps consistently led me to believe that the next drawing would resolve the "problems" to a satisfactory conclusion. It never happened. I estimate that 3000 or more that I was supposed to collect simply evaporated into thin air.

Your winners on television all have beautiful homes with beautiful doors to knock on. There are again millions who could benefit from winning other than the rich.
When I try to enter your contests I get blocked. This last one I tried to enter kept telling me to enter a valid address. I did six times! Is the blockage due to Hispanic last names? Maybe I should have a lawyer at my side next time I try to enter.
Are you aware that not all people with Hispanic last names are Mexicans? Or you just don't want to take chances? Come to think of it, how many Hispanics have won with P.C.S.?
I also won a 3XP or something and a Wii on the wheel and I didn't receive either yet. I wrote the company right after I won and was blocked once again to receive these items. I was called and told I had been entered into their drawing and had won a diamond watch and magazine subscription for free. Then I was asked for money. At first it was a high number. When I hesitated the price dropped quite a lot, but it still wasn't put into dollars that made any sense while on the phone. I gave them my credit card number and agreed. Later I started doing the math and realized that it was going to be well over $500.00 or more. I have been to their website and have placed my concerns with them also. I hope that they will be able to cancel my order with them. It sounded too good to be true and I should have told them no, thank you over the phone and not given them my credit card number. As yet no damages have resulted.

When I contacted and gave the confirmation number I was given, they told me it was not valid. I think this is a huge scam and will never ever order from them again. I threw away all things they mailed me, and when they called, I told them to check their confirmation fax number. And then, they went away after I paid a second time with a check.
I paid twice for a hair ornament that was overpriced to begin with. And even after paying twice--once by credit card and once by check, they still called and told me I have not paid. They finally stopped after I paid a lawyer $75.00 to write a cease and desist letter with copies of credit transaction and cashed check a little over $90.00 for the stupid thing.

The very last mailer I got from them (March 2010), I did order two items: a paper cutter and Fiji nuts. Well, they both arrived together. The paper cutter did not match the brochure (shocker) and included electronic parts the brochure didn't mention. The Fiji nuts? A lousy 8" tin with a bag of store-quality cashews! If I wanted that, I could have gone to my local grocery store! Needless to add, I contacted them promptly (never let the representative get a word in), insisting I was returning their inferior merchandise. Naturally, they offer me a 'credit' or replacement. Absolutely not! These clowns didn't pull anything over on me. "Final offer" my big feet. These clowns give sweepstakes a bad name.

I didn’t get a response but when I called I spoke to a young man. He wasn’t nice at all and he told me I can cancel if I want to. I was upset but I told him I will call back. Two weeks I phone back and they said they had cancelled both my order. I was upset but I told them ok and they sent out refund for both order.
But I had already sent a check for $25.00 on the laptop. I called to have them to send it back but somehow they explain to me to keep the laptop. I did agree, but a month later they sent a letter stated they had problem with the check. I called my bank and there was no problem with the check. I called them back and they seem confuse about what happened. But I think this company not that good. It’s taking a lot of money from customers telling them they won something but they still have to buy for them and pay a high delivery charge. I am very disappointed with this company. No damage but I was so upset I been having a lot of headache along with my high blood pressure.

She was no help except to say they don't ever payout more than $10,000, and if I won, my name would be on a list. She said I should report to you for scam. I will be forwarding the two emails I received. Even though I play PCH lotto everyday for years now, I am sure it is a scam. Please let me know if you find out anything on this matter.
They were asking me for some money and private information. I trusted PCH so I feel that being told you won and getting all your hopes up with it, looking so official that PCH has some sort of responsibility to let their consumers know someone is trying to scam them in the name of PCH lotto. I was so excited because I lost my job and my husband has cancer, and for a day, I really had hoped that now I can afford his surgery, and to take that hope away like it is nothing is just messed up. The only money I am actually out is a $1600 donation I made to a homeless couple to help them into a home because I thought I could give back now that I was getting back. Laughs on me. My husband stopped me from sending any money to these people as soon as he saw the security company that was hired was from the United Kingdom.
There is no way to get my money back. I gave it to their landlord myself to make sure they could stay and get utilities taken care of. Have a blessed day.

The other morning, I went to my car and discovered that I had a flat tire. I did not see where a nail or screw had caused the problem, so I figured that I’ll put air in the tire and see if it holds when I looked over on the ground and noticed that the valve cap had blown off. Then I realized that is why the tire went flat. I imagined it went flat in about 3 to 4 seconds and then the realization came to me that what would have happened if this occurred on the highway while I was doing 70 miles an hour? Luckily, nothing happened to me but I was still a little shook up when I realized what could have happened! As you probably assumed I removed the other valve caps and replaced them with the standard plain caps. I don't know who makes these caps but I do believe they should be taken off the market before something serious happens. Thank you!
