I've been cards for the last several months and have responded. Now, you send me a warning card to go to this website to register a prize access code. The site doesn't exist. I don't know what to do about it now. Any help would be appreciated. I've wasted quite a bit of money on stamps, it is emotionally draining.

I kept getting mail stating that I was close to win a prize and they will contact me. I kept sending back all the forms and others with my postage. Last year, they pulled the same gimmick and now seeing all other complaints, I realize they are not truthful and they just want to sell you books and other junk. No real clue on how you win anything even though they claim no purchase needed to win. Last year, they claimed we won a computer prize of $400.00 and you just had to add $400.00 to claim the prize. These people are con artists and should be banned from sending out this garbage mail. If they are selling stuff, so be it but don't lie and say you are surely a prize winner. No damage done but don't raise people's hope if the intention isn't real.

They say you don't need to buy anything but they make you go though all of them and then if you don't, you don't see the prize you won. I've won a lot and I haven't see any of the prizes. I've won three iPods and haven't seen one of them. It's not fun if you don't get the prizes at the end. I'm enjoying the contest but if I don't get the winnings that means that I needed to buy something first. I had a call that I had won and when she asked me if I used Visa, I said no. She said bye and that was the end and I haven't seen a thing. I don't know if you live in this world but some people won't have jobs and their living hand to mouth, just like my husband and me. So if you tell us we won and it was money or even a n iPod, that's big. I am not too unhappy but I sure could use some good news. But I'll leave it up to the Lord to grace me with what I need and hope you pick my name in the big one. Thank you for listening.

I went online and there was no place to put the access code, just asking for my name, address, email address and phone number and at the bottom asked to press "next" and a numerous bunch of advertisements for ordering from. Back in May of this year (2009), my wife and I received a phone call from Publishes Clearing House and they left a message on our answering machine asking us to call them. Well, that got us excited because we thought we had won a prize or something. But that wasn't the case at all. They proceeded to inform me that money was due on several things that we had ordered. To say the least, I said, "We didn't order any of the things you are describing here," and she said we had already made a partial payment of $12.48 and another one for $23.96. We never made payments on any of this stuff because we never ordered any of this stuff. Our bank account reflects nothing coming out for anything like this. Yet they say we ordered it and made partial payments on it.
Now I called and talked to several different people at different times. The first time was June 1st, 2009 and this is what they said: my bill has been sent off their main office for review. She also said my name and someone else’s name looks like they got pushed together. Then on June 5th, 2009 I called again on another bill I got in the mail and talked to Debbie. She told me the same thing. Then we received yet another one on June 25th 2009. I called this time and talked to Laura. She said to disregard any other bills and if I get another bill in 8 weeks time, call them again at that time.
Then we received another bill dated July 1, 2009. I didn't want to talk to them anymore, so I asked my wife to call and she talked to Laurielie. Her response was that it looks like your name got pushed together with someone else’s. When I said that this is not the first time you guys have told me this, all se did was apologize. I am tired of the harassment and I want it to stop. Here is a list of what they say I ordered and the prices, totaling to $140.72. In the statement I received today, September 15, 2009, they are telling me that I owe them $116.76 for something I never ordered.

I feel like I was scammed. The person calling me had an accent so thick that I could not understand most of what he said. He said he was representing some law firm, but when I asked him to say it again and again I still could not understand the name. I do not believe that this man represented anybody. The only thing I got was a big let-down. I was very excited and was very disappointed when no one showed up with a check. I was told I had won $500,000. I received a postcard with warning across top, a prize access code and directions to go to pch.com/bonus. I went there and followed instructions to complete my "bonus" entry form. I was never able to "submit" the form; however, because it appeared to be on an infinite loop that eventually always took me to a page that had in huge letters “important alert, please don't say no again,” and of course from that page there was no forward progress. Using the back arrow simply took me to all the offers again. The same thing happened when I went to the main pch.com website and attempted to complete an online entry form without ordering anything. I finally was able to contact them, told them about the problem, and that the reason I didn't order anything was because I've already ordered what I wanted to and saw no need to order anything else.
Of interest is when I was unable to "submit" my entry, I clicked on a link that offered to try to convince me again with different offers, and then I saw all three of the items I just ordered via mail for $5.00 less than what I had ordered them for! That ticks me off! But mostly what ticks me off is the infinite loop so one can never get to the submit button for the contest entry form! Consequences are my lowered opinion of PCH, the fact that I will be charged $15.00 more for products I've ordered because I didn't play their obnoxious order entry infinite loop game before I'd ordered, and I feel carpal tunnel coming on! There may be no legal remedy to my complaint, but I still want to lodge it.

I had put a computer on layaway for our son before we move to TX. About a month after receiving it, we started experiencing problems. We called the help desk, and after an hour, the problem seemed to be resolved. Well, much to my displeasure, we needed to call again and again. In July, we had the same problem, and again I called the help desk and was informed that my warranty had expired. I asked where was that written, and when told where to look, I found it in extremely small print.
I understand that the computer I bought was a little less expensive, but also, I didn't realize that this was a reconditioned computer. I know I should have read about this more carefully. But at my age and trying to do something for my young adopted son, I thought I was doing something good to help him through school. Well, I have been a friend of PCH since 1980 (29 years). I have entered all of their contests and have never won a prize of any kind. They continuously change the date they say it started. They have been taken to court and lost their case, with judge telling them that it was illegal to make people buy items from them to be able to enter contests. If you do not buy from them, then they say they cannot award the prizes they are offering. So I believe they just ignore your entry. But if you buy items from them, then they tell you that you just weren't picked to win. I cannot believe in good conscious that I have not been one time in 29 years ever picked to win a prize from them. I have watched people whom I knew over the years win checks from them for under 100 dollars, people who never even entered their contests. There is not that many people in this country to win that many prizes when they have new contests every 3 months.

I received a phone call today from a Leah **, claiming to be a Senior Customs agent at the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport. Her contact number was 866-. She said that a FedEx package from Costa Rica was in her office and because of the insured value of the package being so high, she had to open it and search through it. I asked her how she got my number and she said it was on the outside of the box. She said it contained a check in my name for $495,000 from Publishers Clearing House.
Leah then gave me a phone number to Lloyd's Bank in New York, which is the bank she claimed the check was drawn from, and a serial number for the check. That phone number was 888- and the serial number given was SB1302-****. I called this number and the person that answered verified the number and said that the check was valid and would activate the check for me. I called Ms. Leah back and she said that due to a tariff of $4950, the check could not be released until it was paid. She then told me that she would email the US Embassy in San Jose, Costa Rica and see if there was something that they could do to lift the tariff. She told me that someone would be calling me from the embassy later in the day.
Within 10 minutes, Mr. Michael ** from the US Embassy in Costa Rica called me. He said he was in the Foreign Affairs Department. I asked him how he or anyone else got my number and rambled on about the US government being able to find out anything about anyone or possibly that Ms Leah had done a background check on me to verify that I wasn't up to anything illegal. He gave me his contact number upon my request for it. that number was 877- ext 0711. After talking to him for a little while, he said he would talk to his Financial Department and see if he could get me some financial aid to help pay this tariff which he claimed was not a US tariff as Ms Leah claimed but was in fact an export tax imposed by Costa Rica.
Michael gave me a number for Publishers Clearing House, 866-, and told me to call them to see if there was anyway they could help pay this fee. I called them and it was the girl there that told me that within a matter of 3 or 4 minutes Mr Michael and Ms Leah had talked and gotten $3000 in financial aid and then emailed her at PCH to let them know as well. So I called him back and he explained that they had to inform all parties involved about the financial aid before telling me. He asked me to try to get a loan or borrow money to cover the remaining $1950.00. Upon my insistence that I could not pay this amount, he had a staff meeting to attend and quickly got off the phone.
I called the PCH person and asked how they got my phone number. She told me that it is easy to look up phone numbers so long as they are not cell phones. “I was on my cell phone, it's the only phone number I have”, was my reply. She then told me that by searching my name they were able to find it and I asked how that was possible since my phone line is a secondary line of my fiancee's account and my name was not on her account. She then got nervous, started mumbling about this and that and then had to get off the phone. So I decided to call all the numbers back to talk to someone, and each and everyone of them had no answer but all had the exact same voicemail message and voice.
The more questions I asked the more agitated and rude they got with me to point where Ms Leah raised her voice to me and told me that I should be more financially responsible about being able to pay the fee. I have since looked up contact info for each of the four companies they named and not one number matches. I have called all for and the answering service picked up for each. I did leave a message with the Dallas Customs Agency and asked them to call me back. In the morning I will call PCH, to inform them of what happened under their name. There were no consequences as I am a very distrustful person and fully believe in the old saying, "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn't".

I received a phone call at 10:41 AM on July 29, 2009 from Karen at **, which is a Nevada area code. She claimed to represent Publishers Clearing House (PCH) and proceeded to state that I had won $1.5 million from PCH. She then told me that I needed to pay $399 in order to receive the money. I informed her that I didn't have the $399 so they said that I could give them the first $200 through a Western Union money transfer to Garfield. I was told that I could then give them the balance of $199 when I received the check for $1.5 million. I was also told that someone was supposed to come along with FedEx to deliver the check, then take me to Bank of America to cash it. I sent them the first $200, then they said that I was supposed to receive my money at 1:00 PM. Now, Karen is saying that I have to pay them the entire remaining balance before I can get the money, claiming that her manager told her that I have to send the full amount first.
I have reviewed the PCH website and it clearly states that not only do they never contact winners by telephone, they do not ask for any money in order for any winner to receive a prize. When I discovered that this was a scam, I called at the 702 number and she informed me that I could not get my $200 back. She has hung up on me when I questioned her on the false information she gave me and has consistently denied that it was a scam upon questioning. Also, when I have called back, she has had other people answer the phone. One man who answered the phone, whose name I do not have, gave more false information. He had called me two weeks ago from Nevada offering a different scam, but never got any money from me.
When I asked to speak to her manager, she gave me varying stories about her manager as to why I could not speak to him, such as that he would have to call me back, that he had left early and was gone for the day, that he was on the road delivering other prizes and that he had gone to lunch. She gave his name as Robert and she said that his phone number was **, but that it was also the phone number to FedEx. This number is not a FedEx phone number, and when the person on the other end answered the phone, he claimed to not even know who Karen is. They still refuse to give me my money back.

I have been a good customer over the years, but because I have been treated like this, I will never do business with them again! I am disabled and just surviving each day living with extreme pain and heart problems is bad enough without having to put up with someone who either cannot keep records or is possibly even padding their own accounts under the nose of a manager that is too stupid to realize what is going on; I don't know. I was receiving a lot of mailings from Publishers Clearinghouse in the past. It started to get real bad when they started sending me a lot of things that I did not order and then sent me the bills for it after. I tried to call them to cancel and looked on their website to inform them but they keep acting like they can't understand. I got so upset that I requested to be taken off their mailing list and told them to never send me anymore sweepstakes offers ever again. I paid a lot of money for products I did not order and paid over and over for it.
Now, just last week, I received a notice saying that they've placed me in the credit reporting agency and debt collections for another $75.00. I already paid and now it's on my credit report. After I already told them not to send mailings to me, they still sent more and now a bill. I have spent hundreds of dollars on things I never ordered and never agreed to anything like it. I am not going to pay even though this stupid charge of $75.00 is on my credit report now unpaid, again, for nothing. I figure it is the only way to get them to stop sending me things and finally stop the mailings. This is so unprofessional of Publishers Clearinghouse and crooked of them that I will never trust this business ever again. This company scams off of senior citizens like myself and commits fraud and yet there is no one in the company to help me resolve their mistakes. This is a disgraceful business practice. They did not have my authorization to send me these things in the mail. I feel like I am being discriminated against. I lost hundreds of dollars just paying for the things that I never ordered. This gets expensive; I do not want to pay attorney fees. I just want it to stop altogether once and for all.

I finally got to a point where I emailed them and got a response saying return the merchandise (which takes 2 weeks to arrive) and I would have to pay for the shipping to return it, which is probably more than the product. I still don't know how much the alleged purchase is. This is the biggest scam. I have been ordering from PCH since "forever." They have me ordering since 2002, but that is only our newest address. They have sent orders through the mail on a daily basis. Sometimes, there are 2 or 3 a day, and that does not include the daily e-mails. There are the orders, the lotto, and Search and Win. I am always receiving notification that someone in this rural little town I live in with the exact same initials is going to be the next winner. The town has very, very few occupants and everyone knows one another. We sit on the front porch and wave as the cars go by. So far, I have not met anyone with my initials. So where is my $5,000 to $10,000 each week?
I am really tired of them. Who are these people they show on TV? Are they real or actors. It seems that not one person can tell you that they know someone who has won anything from PCH.
My husband and I are on a limited income. We do not get SS but a small pension monthly. Recently, I have been very ill and hospitalized. Due to the amount of medications given, I did not know which end was up or which one was down. I have received threatening letters where they have turned me over to a collection bureau. I accidentally ordered a collection of music twice, but before I could get back to the previous page on the pc, they had already charged me for it. I tried multiple times to contact them in this matter, and I did see the second ordered back without opening; yet they are charging me for both.
I have invoices for the $187.55 plus the duplicate charge for the CD collection. Today, I have tried to go to the url they sent to pay online, but it just reroutes you to the home page or a red alert. It seems they want their money, and you are not allowed to explain the circumstances surrounding the late pay. I think they should have to wait as long as they have made me wait telling me that someone in my area with my initials will definitely win the weekly prize until the entire amount has been dispatched.

It had to be submitted by July 2nd. So I put in my information, then I was to enter by clicking below, except that there were 4 pages of products they were trying to sell me. I didn't order anything on any of the pages, because as they stated on this email, and everyone before that, placing an order would not increase my chances of winning. Well guess what, I couldn't submit my entry, without purchasing something. I'm not kidding! When I got to the summary page, there was no option but to click on, to submit my entry. So out of curiosity, I went to page 4, and ordered the dragon. After I did that, then the submit entry and order button finally showed up, so I could submit my entry. That is fraud!

I started ordering from PCH because I could get things on a payment basis. And from knowing that shipping and handling cost from past mail ordering, I would order now more then 2 items at a time, but with each and every order I placed with PCH, over the last year they shipped each thing claiming (that due to high volume of orders for the item) other product would be sent when back in stock. So the S&H charge of at least $7.00 on all my orders even though I ordered things together, they still charged me for their out of stock problems, S&H for the back orders. At first, I thought nothing of this until after about the 4th order. Never did I receive any items ordered at same time together. Every item I received separately and every time I paid another S&H charge as they send my order one bye one to me. The last time I called and was told sorry, but yes they can and do make the customers pay these outrageous fees of $7.00, even if it is their out of stock fault, not the customer’s. So, all my orders after that was sent back with me paying to send them back. But never again will I order from PCH, and I will tell everyone the way they work and rip off people in an underhand way. They also tacked on a late payment charge. This was all on an account that I had never asked for. The item in question was sent back by me, and it cost four dollars to do so. When my oldest daughter called the company, the girl checked and found they had gotten the item back, and had cleared our so called account, but because of cross mailing between departments, we received this threatening notice. Like the first one hadn’t had it maybe a week. Friday, not even a week, I had the second purse they sent. Its back strap broke on the backside on one end where the leather was sewed, not. It’s no good - all that happen to that. Please clear my account. Must be defects in these purses so I’m not gonna get another that will do the same. Sorry for this but purses just aren’t what they are suppose to be. Please clear me off the account. I will not pay for something that tears up on me like these has.

I myself have entered daily for over 5 years. Also, with Search PCH and with Blingo Extra entries, that's 3 entries every day. So, that's 5,475 entries. In 5 years of Daily entries, even the ODDS say I should have won Something. I am a hard working Poor Person. I cannot afford Medical or Dental. I work hard 6 days a week. On 26 Feb 2009 I entered the pchlotto.com. You have four chances to win different amounts of money. I entered all four lotto cards and the lotto card for $250,000. I selected my eight numbers. The next day I checked the numbers and all eight numbers blinked supposedly meaning I had won the $250,000. I showed the lotto card to a family member who could not believe I had all eight numbers. I wrote the numbers down and e-mail pchlotto.com and asked them since I have all eight numbers what next. The next day the numbers for lotto card two changed and I had only two numbers. I am far from stupid. I know what I saw. I would never have e-mailed them if I hadn't felt certain I had won.
A few days later I receive an e-mail from PCH stating that no one won on 2/26. That is untrue. I saw the numbers and so did my family member. I sent them an e-mail stating that they were unscrupulous and a scam. On 4 Mar 09 I received another e-mail from support@cs.pchlotto.com stating that they were not a scam and that people had won when they got 7 out of 8 numbers right (that pays $200) and they also stated they had someone win a $50,000 game card. Good for them. I still want to know why they changed the numbers on card two on 27 Feb 09. Is that bait and switch?

At one point, I could not proceed unless I selected something so I picked free information, filled out the page and proceeded. This month a charge of 19.95 appeared on my telephone bill! It was for the free information that I never even received any information on. Fortunately, they had my email address completed wrong so I was able to remove the charges.
Now I am fighting with AcaiBurn - also from PCH website. I have changed my charge card number once already. Looks like I am just going to have to close the account because the AcaiBurn charges flowed through to the new account. I was initially contacted by the Mastercard Fraud Division when they saw AcaiBurn on my card. I contacted the company and cancelled the account, sent back the product using UPS tracking number. I have the tracking report that proves they received back their product. Now I have a new charge on my card to deal with!
I removed/closed my account on any PCH site. As emails come in, I have established a rule to move them to a specific folder. I click unsubscribe on every email I receive daily.

The problem is detailed in the letter below that I sent to Publishers Clearing House on Jan. 23. I sent a second copy of the letter via email about three weeks ago. I have received no response, and I hate to be ignored.
"Last spring I took advantage (?) of your Sweepstakes Clearinghouse offer to obtain a Dell laptop computer with one of your $400.00 awards checks. The computer was shipped on March 26, 2008. My Visa card was charged $441.08 on March 21. Today, at the age of 10 months, the computer died. I knew it was having trouble when it stopped running yesterday afternoon in the middle of a power point presentation I was giving during a class on photography for senior citizens, a situation which was both embarrassing and disgusting since I had to re-frame the class into a different mode of teaching on the spot.
The computer died completely this afternoon as I was performing some tests to find out why it had malfunctioned yesterday. By the way, I am certain it was not a matter of a dying battery. The computer was operating on plugged in electric power both times. When I received the computer last spring, I was mildly suspicious since I saw that this new (?) computer had marks on its cover as soon as I unpacked it. New computers don't come that way. I am sure it was reconditioned, even though Publishers Clearinghouse advertised it as new in its promotional flyer. However, I decided not to make a point of my suspicions at that time. I wish now that I had.
You have two choices: 1) Send me a truly new Dell computer to replace the one I received from you at once. Or, 2.) refund my payment of $441.08 immediately. If, as I expect you will say to dodge the issue, your department does not handle this kind of complaint, please either forward this letter on to the appropriate department or send me that department's address and the name of a specific person who will be able to act upon my (and your) problem.. One way or the other, I look forward to hearing from you in no less than the next ten days. I was in public relations for nearly 40 years before I retired. I'm sure you don't want me to spread the word around concerning the scam you are running by substituting used equipment for new."
That's the story. After reading multiple comments regarding Publishing Clearing House on related web pages, I am sure that this entire situation was a scam that I was suckered into. I would be satisfied to simply get my $441.08 back so that I can buy a new laptop on my own. If they want the old laptop back (something that I doubt), I'll send it to them COD.

I do not have a complaint about a product - it's about identity theft and registering for your sweepstakes - this has not happened to me but I am concerned that requiring a person's full birth date to register for a sweepstakes can open the door for this type of disaster. I know your site is supposed to be secure but we cannot assume in this day of technology it can't be hacked.
What really is the purpose of requiring it? If it's to prove the client is over the age of 18, I think that the year would be appropriate. When the prize is claimed then the full birth date can be disclosed. This requirement restricts some from registering due to this issue and in essence is a sort of discrimination for the safety-conscious person. Can you review the necessity of this? If this is a state regulation then who might I contact? Thank you.

The charge for the purse also included shipping and handling. I tried emailing the company several times (they do not post any Customer Service No. on their website or on their statements) to get feedback on how to return the damaged mdse.
I never received any reply... but now am getting late charges and threats to report me to Collection Bureaus and Credit Bureaus to ruin my credit. I have been reading all the similar reports... too many for my printer to even copy w/out running out of ink. It seems that there have been 100's of similar reports and complaints about Publisher's Clearing House. And now I, too, am a victim. What can be done to stop this company from CRAMS & SCAMS?
