I requested info and I received the info. If I had not checked my credit card I would have been charged for years. I was never told this was a reoccurring charge.

I contacted chat to cancel my subscription. The process was easy and the customer service rep was efficient and friendly. Now if this actually cancels my subscription, I will be happy.

The report was what I expected. I was not aware that once I paid for it, I would receive an ongoing billing of $20/month. I contacted the business and was able to immediately reverse the charge as I was finished with my transactions.

I let her know that I did not realize I was signing up for a monthly subscription when I ordered a report back in January, and I requested that my subscription be cancelled immediately. Stephanie cancelled my subscription right away, which I really appreciated.

Debra was a great help. I did not allow a membership, and only made one purchase for a record. For some reason I was charged the membership though I was sure I just gotten the one record. She was able to issue a refund quickly and close the account.

The site did a great job of providing the housing ownership data I was looking for and their customer service is also very helpful. I was able to look back and see who previously owned the home I am in.

I don't know how I got subscribed to this service but when they started charging my account I was able to cancel it with ease. I did get a report from them that was useful but when I did I did not understand they were going to keep charging me.

This website is great! I would say, the information is 90% accurate. For the price is great! Just be careful to read what they offer thoroughly, as ordering will automatically sign you up for a biweekly, not monthly, subscription. But if you call or chat to cancel and close your account, they will not give you a hard time at all. They'll cancel and close your account and you're good to go. Love the service!

I paid $1 for a report back in January 2026 and have been billed $20-$40 a month since then. I finally found out who was charging me and called them. They closed the account and refunded my last payment. She explained that by paying the $1 “deposit”, I enrolled myself into a subscription plan. This company hides a subscription service behind a low one-time payment on their website. They charge twice a month and were not able to refund me all the money for the subscription. They need to fix their website so that they don't trick you into signing up for something else.

Site is a little misleading saying you can purchase for $1, but it ends up being closer to $10. Very much dislike that I so easily accidentally subscribed to something. They were charging me monthly for some plan. For that reason, I would give them one star, but I did give them an additional star because the information report was helpful, and then another star because they were very helpful in getting that money refunded. Public Records is outdated and just gathers online information. Biggest problem here is, you pay for one single report and automatically is signed up in their membership without even noticing it, until they keep charging weekly from us. At least the cancellation is easily done by the chat option. Most definitely not worth it, though.

This system was very easy to use and get information I needed. However, with that being said, the initial search for what I needed was very confusing, and being charged 5 different times for things would suggest as such. Being charged 9.95 for an ongoing monthly account, when I didn’t know that I was, was very sneaky as well. I would not have agreed to that. I needed one report.

Found info for our property for CPA very easily. The various charges and later recurring charges that went through to our payment method were unexpected and not easy to avoid on the website. However, as it was a one-off enquiry for us, we considered it OK and when I used chat box to cancel the service - we received immediate efficient assistance. Thank you very much.
