I used to watch Judge Judy every day. I never missed it and everyone that knew me knew not to bother me during her show. I always thought she ruled correctly and was tough on the bad guy. Lately, I can hardly stand to watch the show. She never looks at any evidence, never makes a decision on the case because she is always throws out the case. If one of these cases were mine, I would be very upset. I realize the show pays for your transportation and hotel, but that would not matter to me. If I had a legitimate case, and I felt I was innocent, I would not be happy to have my case dismissed without ANY verdict. She is very mean with persons on both sides, she insinuates that people are stupid and beneath her. She is always rude and acts like she is inconvenienced. I'm really tired of seeing her act like this. I think she should be told to act civil or lose her position. NBC would never do that though-too much money to lose or ratings to lose.

Maybe too many years on the bench has done this to her. She has lost her human side. It is time to shape up or ship out. It really bothers me to see her behavior lately. She sometimes does not even give the person a chance to tell their side of the story before her decision is made. All the preparation and flying there just to be thrown out within minutes! I sure hope NBC re-evaluates her behavior and has a talk with her. NO ONE is indispensable-including her!

Judge Judy is arrogant, egotistical, doesn't follow the law, needlessly mean. It's a sad day in this world when the meaner you are, the better paid you are. I would be embarrassed to be one of her kids. Now if you want to watch a good judge show, watch Judge Marilyn Milian of People's Court. She's no nonsense, while treating people with respect. And she is actually funny, unlike Judy, who only thinks she is.

Don't you think it's about time we put old Judge Judy out to pasture for her own good. It was a great run! I used to really enjoy watching the show but lately she has become somewhat ridiculous with her narrow mindedness. She acts like she knows everything but I assure you she does not! She always says "put your listening ears on", well she needs to practice what she preaches. She immediately almost always picks her favorite litigant and then after that occurs spends the rest of the session belittling, bullying and insulting the other party. Recently I watched a case where a women was suing for damages to her side mirror caused by a little girl running right into it at a school. Judge Judy acted as if she knew exactly what had happened (even though she was not there) but indeed she did not know! I substituted in Indian River County, Florida at numerous (more than six) elementary schools.

Judge Judy after asking the plaintiff how many students were in the school and being told "around 500" then say kept saying and I'm paraphrasing - you have to be extra careful when driving around 500 students running out of school. First of all the schools don't dismiss all the students at once, they dismiss K/G and 1st then 2nd and 3rd then 4th and 5th. Students break up into several groups ie: car riders, bus riders, walkers, after school programs etc. The students with teacher supervision are escorted by grade to benches both for car riders and bus riders. Once on the benches there are multiple teachers supervising for behaviors and proper transportation pick up. The teachers proceed to call the students by name to the pick up area when their ride arrives. Again you don't have 500 students running amuck outside of school!

Which brings me to the little girl who disobeyed rules and procedures (and should be punished) and ran out into the road on her own (not in the pick up area) into the side view mirror of the plaintiff. Furthermore Judge Judy chastised the plaintiff for not driving carefully enough in proximity of a school, REALLY are you serious? That's just ludicrous thinking. The plaintiff appeared to be a responsible driver. She even had her own two young students whom she was picking up. Judge Judy boosts and brags about how smart she is suppose to be but yet she constantly contradicts her own assumptions and previous rulings. She may know the law when she is not to busy being blinded by her litigant favoritism. Once she locks in on "loving" one of the parties it's impossible for the other party to win regardless of evidence.

The plaintiff in question in this case even brought an unbiased crossing guard to court that witnessed the incident and she just flat out didn't listen to him (blew him off) because her fading mind was set on ruling in favor of the defendant. Then Judge Judy took another one her cheap shots asking the plaintiff how would she had felt if she killed the little girl? That was just wrong and inappropriate. The plaintiff was in no means driving recklessly. Just possibly Judge Judy may still retain some semblance of law but she certainly must have NEVER passed any Physics class! The plaintiff had ABSOLUTELY no chance to avoid that little girl from running INTO her car from the side. It didn't matter if she was going 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 MPH etc... If the little girl (which she did) darted out and ran into the SIDE of her car it's all on the parent of the little girl to assume responsibility.

It is literally impossible for any driver (even Judge Judy) to avoid that type of collision, again speed is not the factor here. Maybe if you could put your car into a time warp or another dimension you might be able to avoid the collision or better yet see if you can bring Rod Serling back from the dead and send you and your car to the Twilight Zone!!! Worse yet is the AUDACITY of that defendant to try to countersue--unbelievable!!! She should worry more about teaching her little angel to follow the rules, unfortunately the next time the little angel darts out into a road it might be a semi at 60 MPH heading her way! Parents "teach your children well". Thank You for letting me rant.

I have never been on the show but I do watch quite often. I used to think Judy was a shrewd and fair Judge. Over time my opinion of her has changed drastically. She comes across as prejudice against two or three distinct social classes. 1. Poor People 2. People of ** especially ** and Hispanics 3. Education Level. She judged people based of their income race and educational level. If it does not meet her standards she talks down to and degrades these people. She is also mean spirited and I actually think she her age is causing her exhibit poor behavior added to her bias mentality. She does not fail to highlight how superior her economic and educational status toward those she considers socially bankrupt. This type of behavior speaks to her lack of humility, compassion and integrity exposing her as a seriously flawed individual.

I like Judge Judy. I like a woman with balls. I feel like her and I could be friends but I would never want to be judged by her. My complaint is with the two horrible women criminal prosecutors on Hot Bench. I want my cation Downey court then transferred to Hot Bench when they called and asked me to come. I lost my case to the 2 women who immediately didn't like me and my beautiful witness get my drift? My case was slam dunk and because of all personal things like calling me a stupid Italian and calling me names in Italian which maybe they don't think people understand but we understand how prejudiced, bias, unprofessional, unjudicial, what absolute ** these women are! And if that's what they're going after well they've got it.

No one should go on this show. It's totally personal and has nothing to do with the law and only has to do with how hot these 2 women think... they are. With their fake smiles and horrible attitudes. God help us if this what our judicial system would be like with these 2 women. The man was intelligent and on my side but he had no chance against those vampires. This show should be taken off the air... And by the way ladies you're not hot.

If you are contacted by the show, make sure you do your research before going on. I did not and had only watched it a couple of times over the years. I was very naive and ignorant on how it’s run. My wrong belief was that it would be based on evidence and the truth. It is not. I thought it would be an easy way to settle my case. It would have been a slam-dunk case in a real court. My belief is she and the powers to be already knew what they wanted as an outcome and only for TV ratings. Boy was I naive. It didn’t matter about the free trip.

I use to live in California, and it was not an incentive to return. It was only to speed up the process for my case and rectify the problem I had and still do. When I realized which way it was going, I knew enough to keep my mouth closed as I realized it was already a done deal. Think about it if they contact you. It’s much better to go through the real courts. What do I have? My legal issue is not solved. And most importantly, it confirms that people do not do the right thing. It is purely a TV show and is not a real ethical part of any court system. Have an attorney read over everything you sign. He or she will advise you of the pitfalls.

I went on Judge Judy because my friend's dog attacked my dog in her house and we had to have her eye removed adding to 4,000 in vet bills. I didn't want to go because I knew she was going to ridicule me on national TV but I knew I had to do it because of my dog. I had written statements from the defendant saying she will take full responsibility and by LAW the defendant is LIABLE. She didn't even let me show my evidence, she didn't talk to me or hear my side. The defendant said one thing and she called the case dismissed. The producers had assured me I would win since I had 100% of the evidence and the defendant had 0%. I left traumatized, they cost me $4,000, and my one year old puppy would never get justice from what that women did to her.

I was a litigant on her show and on National TV, she did not even read the police report before making her ruling which spoke to the facts. Instead she inserted her own presumptions and heresy, something that is not legal in any court of law. Hollywood and $47 million a year have allowed her to be an actor, not a true judge. Any real Judge would have insisted on the Police Report before rendering a decision.

I worked in law for many years, and she gives an entirely false representation of the legal system. She thinks she is an expert in every area, and she makes her mind up without looking at evidence. Yelling and degrading someone does not make you "correct". She does not reflect any true conception of the court system, and if these cases were heard in court, they would have an entirely different outcome. She is so disgraceful. I watched an episode on Fox 19, 1-5-18. The 6 to 6:30 showing. It was appalling how Judge Judy talks as if she knows everything about social security, Section 8 and whatever. She thinks that because a person gets disability, they cannot work. She is dead wrong and she needs to get the facts before she speaks. Social Security encourages people to work; yes they must report that income, and when they do, what they get from Social Security may be reduced, or depending on how much they. Everybody's not out to cheat and it is not her call unless she has all the facts. I highly doubt she does. I get so sick and tired of her speaking as if God gave her the voice on everything, which is absolutely not true. Not to mention, as a judge, she is teaching people to be rude, nasty, and disrespectful.

Please hear the case; but oh, that would mean listening to the presented information. Also, the 5:30 show, the young man's jaw broken because they jumped him, drunk or not, they should not have gotten away with that. I don't know why people go on her show. She really doesn't listen because she thinks she knows the case before you speak. Why bother.

The Judge Judy show allowed my wife and I to get justice for our dog, who had been attacked by another dog, two blocks from our house. The defendant had refused to pay the vet bills, even after trying to contact him numerous times over a one year period. Judge Judy saw the evidence we presented, and asked pertinent and succinct questions to the defendant and us. She saw through his lies and awarded us money for the vet bills and punitive damages. Finally, she threw out his countersuit, because she saw it was a sham. The producers, and all the crew, treated us with dignity and respect, the whole time we were there. If you’re looking for justice, Judge Judy will help you get it, if you have the proper evidence.

I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to have both ladies by my side throughout the entire process. They prepared me for both worst case & best case scenarios in front of the judge. They did their best to make sure I was completely ready to present my case to Judge Judy. I'm not sure if I'm biased because I won my case but I will say that Judge Judy saw right through the defendant's poor decisions & lack of willingness to take responsibility and sided in my favor. Earlier this year I took an ex-girlfriend onto the show to try to sue her for having me falsely imprisoned which in Arkansas is called a bad arrest. One of the first things out of The Producers mouths to both of us when they found out we were coming from Arkansas was, “Do you have all your teeth.” Haha very funny but so be it. The Producers had told me that they needed some monetary stuff to go along with the bad arrest to spice things up a little. Well I painted the defendant’s truck and they said, “Well what would you charge if you were to charge her for it” and I said, “$750.” So they said, “Well we'll just say let's put down that that she owes you $750 for the paint job on her vehicle Plus the bad arrest part.” Well when it was all said and done the judge called us both liars. In the long run I never even brought up the bad arrest and dismissed both cases mine and her countersuit.

So I've been called a liar on national TV because the producers told me to write in that dollar amount when I knew it didn't happened and it was wrong. So needless to say I couldn't even bring her back home to sue her due the waivers that I signed and agreed to. So now there was four days of jail I had to spend in it. 2 Man cell with 3 people with one of the men who shot his dad in the head on Christmas. So all-in-all I'm out of potential $5,000 for the ruling. 4 days of my life with a convicted Capital One murderer and two days of Court proceedings before my charges here were dismissed due to the bad arrest. My disappointment was the whole reason I went there was for legitimate causes but the producers asked me to lie and I listened knowing it was against my better judgment so I guess I just shot myself in the foot but I wish my cellmate would have come across her that Christmas day instead.

Two years ago I was severely injured by a motorist while on my bike. The motorist threw me into a car as he was mad at bicyclists for riding in bike lanes... a real crazy man! I tried bringing him to justice via personal injury litigation and nothing worked. As the 'statute' was expiring, I filed my own small claims action against this man to recover my medical expenses, as every law firm said this was NOT a winnable case, or too expensive for them to take on. Judge Judy's staff heard about my case, and even though I thought her court manners, opinions and decisions were a little rough, I knew she could see through this man's arrogance and she ALWAYS can detect a liar and a scoundrel, and she has NO tolerance for any injustice, as long as you can prove it.

I went on the show and sure enough-- after eight law firms in Los Angeles told me I would not only NEVER get this guy into court and win, I won my judgment against this road rage motorist and Judge Judy was the only one that was able to do ANYTHING about this psycho. Not only was I able to pay off my medical bills, but also able to expose this driver who hates bicyclists on TV so that if he is out there doing this again-- and I am sure he is, then this 'conviction' will help the next person that needs to bring him to justice for his transgressions much easier.

Judge Judy is the GREATEST and although some of us would not run a courtroom the way that she does, all I can say-- in my case, was she was the ONLY one in the legal community that not only believed in me & got to the 'truth', but also the ONLY one that had the courage and intelligence to do something that helped someone who had been totally shunned by the legal system. She deserves every penny she works for and I hope she lives to be 100 and continues to right the wrongs of the world for as long as she can.

The process went smoothly, the show was fair to both sides and I believe gave a fair chance to both the Plaintiff and the defendant. Everything that was talked about in the first encounter I received. Everything was straightforward. Before the show was going to be filmed, the producers met with me to go over the evidence I had and went over my talking points. She said the plaintiff was a sicko, the husband was a sicko and he was married to a sicko! It was disgusting beyond belief! Does she know the definition of 'sick'? I've been a fan of Judge Judy since she first aired. My family knows not to bother me for the hour her show is on, I never dreamed I would ever be on her show! In 64 years I've never had a problem that needed to be handled in a Courtroom, until a rotten tree fell on my fence and smashed my daughter's rabbit hutch. Pretty simple, right? Should have been! My neighbor felt he had NO Responsibility for the damage! Luckily my daughter's rabbits were in dog cages, so she could clean the hutch, so they weren't hurt. I talked to my neighbor in person, so did my 36 year old son. The neighbor was very arrogant about the whole thing. I sent a certified letter requesting payment for the repairs and tree removal, along with the estimates. I was only asking for $600.00. Months later I filed for small claims, I felt I had no choice. Fences usually make for good neighbors, but not in this case. The Judge Judy Show called and requested we settle it on the show.

After a lot of thought, I agreed, but didn't think my neighbor would appear on the show. Surprise, He agreed! The producers for Judge Judy, (Sara & Kristen) held my hand through the whole process, told me how it worked and explained I would receive my money if I won my case. They set up EVERYTHING for me. My witness was my son, so he was my travel companion. We could have stayed in Hollywood an extra day at no expense to us, but due to my son's work we just couldn't so our trip was rushed. We ran into a few hiccups on the trip, but nothing major. Either Sara or Kristen was on my phone anytime I had a question or problem. Like I said they held my hand through everything, they were wonderful!!! I feel the motel was extravagant, a lot nicer than needed, but we enjoyed it for 1 night, (they offered 2) and I'm sure my neighbor enjoyed his vacation on someone else's money!

At the Studio we were greeted by security. Security at Judge Judy is much more than any airport! They were very respectful and sweet to us. They rushed us through because my neighbor's cab pulled up, and they never allowed our paths to cross until we were on set. Now we start meeting ALL the people that make Judy Judy's show so great. I'm not good with names, but the man that put our mic's on, came in and made me feel right at home, like an old friend. He got my nerves calmed down joking with me. He was amazing! Then an Attorney, Notary, and others were in and out of the room all very competent and respectful.

Sara & Kristen never left our side. Yes, they looked at all your evidence and tell you what will be best, I had a lot of pictures and because it's a production you don't need to show everything, just the best ones. They do write your statement before your trip, but they bring it to you and ask you to read over it, that is when you can CORRECT it if you don't agree with something they wrote, then you sign it, mine was what I had told them. Yes they inform you it is a SHOW, they deal with Judy every day, they don't want you to waste your time or theirs. They are professionals, they are educated and deal with all sorts of people and personalities.

In my opinion they were helping me, because I was nervous. No tricks, no games, just real people! I took my own make-up, but was thrilled they sent me to Make-up! I might have put my lipstick on my ear, from nerves! Face it, there are some people that just don't know how to put on make-up, so they are really doing it as a favor so you don't look foolish! Then to the set, at 64 I am still learning, I was amazed at how it is all done. When I saw Byrd I was surprised, he is a really big man. I would hate to get on his bad side, but he was a big Teddy-Bear! Very nice man and handsome. When Judge Judy walked out, I nearly fainted, she is such a tiny, beautiful woman, but carries herself with dignity and commands respect! She deserves it, it can't be easy to be fair and put up with some of the nut jobs she has to deal with daily!

Yes, I won my case! Thanks to my neighbor being so arrogant Judy pegged him off the bat, he started off lying and she called him on it quick! Do I have any regrets? Yea, I wanted to show all the evidence I had brought and tell all of my side, but the neighbor talked himself into a hole, so I didn't need to show or say anything!!! Would I ever do it again? Yes! My neighbor will never take care of his property, and there are more rotten trees leaning toward my property, one is aiming at my large shed, so yes I would go back to the show. It would be fun the next time because now I know how it works.

Anyone that say's it's fake or set up is crazy! The people that make that show #1 work really hard, and have to deal with strangers, some good and some just nuts! Even if I had lost my case, I would still feel the same! Judge Judy and Hot Bench are my favorite shows, because you NEVER know what the ruling will be and EVERY case is different! Thanks a million to Judge Judy and her WONDERFUL Staff! Thanks for the experience. You are all #1 and hope the show airs forever. My daughter was pleased to get her rabbit hutch replaced and sends her love to all that made it possible!

I have loved Judge Judy since it aired. My daughter has always been a huge fan of the show. She and her ex-husband went on the show a couple months ago. They were each permitted one witness. I went with my daughter hoping not to have to testify. God was good. I just sat on the side and didn't have to say anything. We tried talking them out of going but they just had to do it. So I took the plunge for the chance to see Judge Judy live and an all expenses paid trip to Hollywood.

My daughter's case was dismissed, just as we figured it would be, and she now hates the show. She went in like many do... Thinking she'd walk away with money and get to see Hollywood. And that's why people are upset over it. They're going in thinking of court and expecting cash. If you're not a litigant though, you go in to be entertained.

Of course you're going to be told things to say. They even take you through makeup. It's television. Yes she was a judge at one time. Yes she is harsh or maybe narcissistic. That's Hollywood. She's doing what makes the show such a long-running hit. She's doing just what the litigants are told to do... Saying things that keeps the show entertaining. Once my daughter got over her mad, we had a good day out on a sightseeing tour with cash in hand for our meals, a prepaid taxi, a nice free hotel room and the return tickets for the free round trip flight. And she got her appearance fee. Not to mention the free breakfast in our private room at the studio.

The experience one has on the show is directly related to the ideas they went in with. I'm sure the all-expenses paid trip to Hollywood and small appearance fee plays a huge part in one's decision to hold their case on Judge Judy rather than their local court. Why do people make the choice to go on the show, knowing its reputation, then get angry over the outcome? I can't understand that any more than I understand people who voluntarily go on Jerry Springer. At least Judge Judy is cleaner. Maybe it's the alluring glamor of Hollywood overriding common sense. That taste of the limelight.

When people complain, they're complaining about the wrong business. They're complaining about a judge when the business they dealt with was a television show. The studio sign sums it up: HOT Bench. You can't have hot without a fire. Judge Judy's the fire, and the people eat it up so much it's run for 20 years. How many shows can make that claim? Perhaps we should question why the public prefers to watch people voluntarily air their dirty laundry rather than less controversial television. It says more about the state of the human race I guess. So considering the fact that it's a television show and has been popular enough to last 20 years, I'd have to give it 5 stars. Cause as a business, they've done an excellent job at such a long running show.

I would like everyone to know, "The Judge Judy Show is GREAT!" If you would like someone to answer for their error, this is where to get it done. My son and I took part in a recent recording of the show and justice was served. The reason we took part in the show was due to an incident in which my son was bitten by a dog on his way home from school, which is less than two blocks away.

The worst part of this incident was the dog owner's failure to respond! Their failure was even more insulting due to the fact that they live less than half a block away. This dog owner's failure to address their error is what angered the wife and I, which brought about our actions. We ran our own investigation and successfully discovered the "assailant" and her owner.

Once the dog owner was addressed they failed to accept our request regarding reimbursement of the funds spent for my son's safety. They did not consider anything regarding the incident. Things such as Dr Visits, Rabies shots, and emotional stress.... my ears are still ringing from my wife's screams of fear. Well, the rest of the story will be shared on The Judge Judy Show soon.... just keep watching! PS... Thank you Sarah for allowing the opportunity to take part on this show.

DO NOT go on this show if you are the Plaintiff and you are in the right. If you have a good case then pursue the real court system, not this circus. I had a case that any fool could see I should have won. I lost for a few reasons: The producers write your statement, and they put in sentences that will sabotage your case. They refuse to send you your statement ahead of time, they will only read it to you over the phone (I assume they don't give it to you in writing because then you would have evidence that they wrote/tampered with your original claim). Judy WILL use this statement as greater evidence than any documents, agreements, texts, or any other evidence you bring.

The producers are interested in two things: 1: Good TV and 2: Not having to pay anything for it. It's not in their interest to pay out claims so they will put in phrases that THEY KNOW Judy will rule against so that they get good tv, make you look dumb and confused, and don't have to pay you any of their claims budget.

If you do foolishly decide to go on the Judge Judy show then make sure that your statement is airtight - nothing false, nothing juicy. The producer will complain and say "Well this is a tv show, the case isn't interesting if we don't talk about XYZ." My mistake was letting them put in "juicy" details about the case that weren't all that true but I figured oh well, they're just trying to make good tv. Judy seized on one particular sentence and used it to decide against me before the case even started, despite the mountain of evidence I came prepared with.

Unfortunately if you fight them on the statement beforehand, they may insist on changing it anyway due to the "We need to make an interesting tv show" reason and subtly or blatantly threaten you with charging you for your airfare/hotel room if you refuse to sign their statement. My advice in this case is to not go on the show in the first place, but if you must then make sure you *record* your conversation with the producer on the phone when they read you your final statement to make sure they don't change it on you. They will not provide you with any copies so you have no choice but to be sneaky about it.

Judy is not a judge, she's just playing one on tv. She used to be a judge 30 years or so ago, now she is an arbitrator who chooses to wear a funny looking black robe. The agreement you sign specifically says she "is not bound to California or any other law, and can use her own judgment and common sense to make her decision." Think about that for a long while - your evidence does not matter. Your legal agreements do not matter. The facts don't matter. The reason you think you are right does not matter, even if it's unbelievably obvious to any person with two brain cells. Judy can do whatever she wants. She's not bound to any laws, and there is no appeals process once you go there. You're stuck with her ridiculous verdict.

Judy is a narcissist. This is obvious to anyone who watches the show but the reason why it affects you is that she will not listen to reason if it conflicts with her sense of self-righteous infallibility. In my case, she misunderstood something from the statement. She confused some of the dates (understandable, because the producers' jazzed up statement was poorly written) and from her logic I wasn't owed money because an agreement ended at a certain time. However I explained the date she used was wrong, it was actually several months later and had the documents to prove it. She stuck with her original decision for no reason other than she had made up her mind already. To admit a mistake, despite overwhelming evidence, would have hurt her air of judgely authority so rather than follow the law or fairness, she sided with her narcissism.

Judy is old and possibly losing some of her mental capacity. The producers told me on several occasions that Judy is old and losing her hearing so I would have to speak very loudly. Personally I believe her eyes and memory are going as well: I submitted a document to her and she started her "I don't believe this is real!" routine and said it was because there was no company name on it. I didn't have it in my hand but from memory I pointed out where I thought the company name was printed and she looked at it again, likely saw her mistake, then just glared at me and put the paper aside and moved onto the next thing. Rather than say "Oh ok, maybe this is real" she chose to continue in her ignorance rather than look wrong, at my expense. This problem worked in tandem with the previous point - her old eyes betrayed her and her narcissism caused her to double down on her initial bad decision.

Later she was going over damages I was owed. She called out some numbers that matched my invoices to someone working there. I assumed she was making a tally of how much damages were owed to me. It was quiet for a few minutes as she went through different documents. Then out of nowhere she stands up and said "Your case is dismissed." What about all those damages you were just tallying? I was in such shock and confusion that I didn't have time to ask as she left. The producers weren't even sure if I won or lost the case based on her conflicting statements. This of course was edited out of the show when it aired.

The producers also lied and said they would send a letter when the show would air. They didn't; I found out from family members who happened to be watching that day. The producers' jobs are to pretend to be on your side and convince you that you will win your case. They are liars - that is their job. To take your real life case and turn it into a sensationalized version that ideally pays you zero and makes a good tv episode.

DO NOT GO ON. You may think you can outsmart them. I thought my case was foolproof. Your interests are not their interests. They are not interested in the law or fairness. If you are the defendant then you might as well go on because they will pay your bill if you lose in exchange for a little berating by Judy. But if you are a plaintiff and if you are right at all, do not go on this show.

There is Nothing, and I mean NOTHING real about this show! The room is fake, the audience is fake and everything leading up to your appearance is fake as well. The producers lie, manipulate and twist the facts in order to present things as they see fit for the show. It's all about ratings! There is absolutely NO JUSTICE whatsoever so if you believe you will be heard you will be sadly disappointed and mistaken.

"Judge" Judy does not hear your case, refuses to look at evidence that would support your case and dismisses whatever suits her at the moment. She is truly a horrible horrible human being and should not be allowed to continue with this farce of a court show! PLEASE DO NOT FALL for the lies the producers will tell you. On the day of the taping you will soon realize (and much to your dismay it will be too late) that you have been tricked and have made a mistake in agreeing to appear there. Read all the reviews before me. They are authentic. I know because I've been there, done that, experienced it for myself and have immense regret. Please don't make the same mistake I made. I appeared on Judge Judy in January, 2015 (filmed in December, 2014) and had an incredible experience. Up until 2 weeks before my appearance, I never saw a Judge Judy episode, never watched reality court (other than a few episodes of The People's Court when I was a child), thought that Judge Wapner was still on The People's Court, and for some reason I thought that Judge Judy & Judge Wapner were married in real life. I didn't realize how big her show actually was until I was contacted by their producers about my case.

First off, remember the golden rule and never go into ANY court room with dirty hands or think that you are smart enough to lie to ANY judge - especially Judge Judy. Judges are professionals who see liars and scam artists every day and can see right through them. Real Justice is about determining the truth - not "the best liar wins." After reading many of the negative reviews on this website, I wonder if many of these reviews are from people who violated these golden rules. My case "RV Trip from Hell" was a simple case of a breach of contract that would have taken about 2 years to resolve in Cook County, Illinois, but I had it resolved on the Judge Judy show within 2 months. I was prepared to settle the case with the defendant for 1/2 of what I was awarded by Judge Judy, but I was dealing with a stubborn defendant who was non-responsive. I was very happy with the outcome and received my award settlement promptly.

The 4 pieces of advice that I can give to future litigants is: Don't go on the show with dirty hands or thinking that you can lie your way out of it because you will probably lose, probably get embarrassed on national television, and end up posting a negative review on a website in retaliation. A mistake that I made was that I incorrectly assumed that Judge Judy already knew all the facts in the case (which she didn't) and I incorrectly relied on her to confront him about his inaccuracies instead of confronting him myself. For example, the defendant said that he was NOT operating a business, when in fact he was operating a business, and to prove it I had a copy of the contract in front of me (with his company name on it), but I didn't introduce it. So be prepared to battle just like in a real court room.

I went into this show grounded, knowing my place, and respectfully understood that this is Judge Judy's Show - not my show. Other than my family & friends, 9 million people are watching to see HER, not me. For example, in the green room at the studio, we met 2 people from Chicago who had their case heard just before mine. Later that evening, we ran into them at O'Hare Airport in Chicago and they told us that Judge Judy threw their case out because the daughter was mouthing off too much and wouldn't listen to Judge Judy's instructions. Their case never made it to television because Judge Judy walked away from the case and sent them home. Remember that it is also entertainment, so have a good sense of humor and be prepared to have thick skin. I went into this prepared to be made fun of by Judge Judy and I think that it is hilarious that she said about me: "he is not the brightest bulb in the pack".

She thrives on power and control which has gotten way out of control and sickening to watch. Tonight's program angered me when she referred to the plaintiff as "nerdy looking". She basically attacked him to the point where he gave up trying to present his case and he walked out. Who do you think you are? You should be ashamed of yourself! I bless the day when my wife showed me a letter from the producers of Judge Judy, inviting me to appear in the courtroom. We had time to organize our defense, assemble a wardrobe and pack for the trip. The guidelines that we received gave us all the information we needed to prepare for the show. Not knowing what to expect, I experienced anxiety about being in front of the camera. From the time I arrived at the KTLA studio, everyone involved with the program treated with the utmost courtesy, patience and efficiency.

They provided airfare to Los Angeles, two days at a first class hotel adjacent to Universal Studios and taxi transportation from LAX to the hotel and the studio and back. They put me at ease, guiding me through the paperwork, preparation for the appearance and a clear explanation of the courtroom procedure. Everything went smoothly. Judge Judith Sheindlin has assembled a thoroughly professional staff that I believe contributes enormously to the program's success. After Byrd brought the court to order, Judge Judy treated me courteously. She asked me questions. I answered and then listened while the plaintiff had her say. I am thrilled to have appeared in Judge Judy's courtroom and will treasure the experience for as long as I live.

I could tell she briefly reviewed the details of my case prior to coming out because I didn't end up using any of the paper evidence I had prepared. The defendant's argument was a poor one and I'm glad Judy could help me out. The defendant lied about his address so I had no way of finding him myself in order to serve him with a warrant. I recently received word from an associate producer of Big Ticket Productions which produces Judge Judy on CBS, about a rash of internet reviews on appearing on Judge Judy television show. I read them and proved to myself once again why I usually don't read reviews of anything, especially on the internet and why I NEVER write such dribble. But this time I do have something to say so I apologize to those whom I have judged about writing these things because they too must have believed they had something to say. Long story short, I hope.

We have gotten some hard breaks physically and financially and have had to make many lifestyle adjustments including selling a prized little cottage we owned. We had a tenant that went along with the sale. After closing there was a mind numbing storm of he said, she said. I am an attorney (28 years now) and though I tried to sort things out, ultimately, I welcomed the neutral forum of court and invited the new owners to bring suit, which they did. Shortly thereafter we received a letter from Jonathan, an associate producer of the Hot Bench show which is a newer production of Big Ticket. Jonathan walked us through the screening process and coached us on the preparation of the legal presentation as I am sure was his way of handling other potential litigants.

Eventually, he called to tell us that producers of Hot Bench decided against using our case but upon his recommendation, we were transferred to Judge Judy. We received follow-up contact and preparation from Kurstin, an associate producer of Judge Judy. Both Jonathan and Kurstin emailed certain documents for review and some for e-signature covering what I considered the basics concerning our mutual commitments. They helped us to fully understand of the process, including travel, lodging, transportation, compensation, the mediation process and the legal implications of their mediation process.

Win or lose, I could easily recognize the complexity of the legal side and national television production side of this production. We fully enjoyed the entire process up to and including actually appearing before Judge Judy. We were told that had we lost, the show would cover payment of the judgment and only a notice of dismissal and no judgment would register on the RI State Court filing. These are good things for a defendant. We filed our answer with the RI State Court and forwarded it to Kurstin together with all attachments as well as an outline of the evidence we would present, most of which we also sent to Kurstin. After that, we just followed directions and did exactly what we were told. So efficient with exact instructions and vouchers and name recognition at each milepost, the airport, taxi stands, hotel, taxi drivers, scheduling and production staff.

We arrived very early in the morning, passed through impressive security and security personnel and were almost immediately swept up into the event led into a private green room, meeting with a paralegal about our appearance paperwork and case synopsis, finalizing evidence and other details with Kurstin who personally walked us through everything, yet I knew she had other litigants to tend to with a day full of cases to produce, make up session, miking up with the driest, friendliest gentleman, a question or two I believe from the staff attorney regarding the case, even a surprise visit from Jonathan who came to meet face to face just prior to our appearance.

As an attorney, I believe that there are state courts which would benefit from the preparation and execution techniques employed by Judge Judy to get to the bottom of things. As a student of television (aka, I watch a lot of TV), I was mesmerized by the inside look, especially when led into the courtroom sound stage which is a box inside of a huge warehouse like building. It is perfectly lit, has great acoustics, is cozy and manned with a very active but unimposing group of lighting, sound, camera and other production professionals.

And there is Judge Judy. She carried our file into the courtroom. She held it like she knew it from cover to cover. I believe she did. Just as we were swept up in the preparation process, I believe the Judge was not sitting with her feet up drinking coffee in her chambers. From her first words to the final wave of her hand holding our file, she knew what she was talking about, a testament to what I believe was the simultaneous expert preparation and execution of the mediation and filming of a national television hit.

I am sure it sounds like we prevailed. We did. And it sounds like most who wrote these reviews lost, I am sure they did. The fact that my wife and I prevailed and that these reviewers lost is not on Judge Judy. He makes his sun rise on people whether they are good or evil. He lets fall on them whether they are just or unjust. In fact, the Judge dismissed our counterclaim out of hand. I am watching that tenant remove and take away what I still consider to be my belongings as she moves from that house. But that's part of the justice we received and its final!

There is no doubt that this is Judge Judy's show. Show me a courtroom where the show does not belong to the judge. Yeah, and show me justice that is not tempered or does not in some way appear marginal. I say the Judge is brilliant and balanced and very entertaining even when she ruled against us. And she is well prepared, thanks in large part to a great staff and slick system well executed. She handles little matters like hearsay and relevance in an offhanded and often humorous manner which can be interpreted as some have complained. But this show is not a 30 minute law school class where she is obligated to educate folks as to why what they may be trying to say is useless to her or probably in any courtroom. Finally, our segment aired earlier this month. Even the editing was amazing. There is more, but I want to leave something on the table for others to get at. Thanks to everyone, we had a blast.

Although Judge Judy is a real attorney and judge, her appearance is more as a curmudgeonly character than as a fair and impartial judge. That said, my husband and I were content with our ruling. We had excellent evidence, researched our issues, and role-played how things might go in court. It was an incredibly brief time on camera for all the time we put into it. I was invited to be on the show, I had a ton of evidence showing that my ex owed me money and even that he agreed with the amount he owed. The producer and associate producer brought a "script" into the private room my father and I were brought to once we were in the studio. They asked me to lie about the dates of the case, and even other added information about the case that never happened. I told them I only knew what the truth was in my head and that I can't lie. They said "well, if you don't the case will get dismissed and we like to write checks at the end of the day. You want your check right?"

So I'm all distraught as I'm waiting to go on the stage. I was told all of the audience are actors, the guy that swears you in is just an actor so you're not going to hell or anything... My dad was there and defended me also. Once on stage, Judy asked a few questions. She wouldn't look at any of my texts that my ex agrees that he owes me and the amount... She finally looks at my ledger of where I wrote the amounts down when he borrowed and the date of 2013 set her off, she said "You dated in 2014 why does this say 2013..." I told her because he was borrowing money at that time also.. And case dismissed.

They asked us to lie about dates, so then my evidence was not usable... I would have lost regardless of anything that was said. The producer said "if she hears the year 2013 the case will get dismissed..." Well... In a legal court that wouldn't of happened because he had just given me a payment two months ago, proof that he's paying. If she would have looked at my evidence there's no way I would have lost and now as a single mom that was already taken advantage of by my ex, the Judge Judy show took advantage of me too, and my ex never has to pay me back a dime. The original amount he owed was $3600. When I totalled my bank statements the night before, it was actually over $8600... It's so frustrating to work hard my entire life to get screwed over like this.

Judge Judy and the Big Ticket Productions show is a scam. I had received a call from the producers asking me to appear on their show a few months ago because I had a valid case that would reward me 5,000. Hands down "you will win". The producers then began to say how the defendants won't pay, "You will receive a check from us in less than four weeks and you can put all this behind you." They are liars and have no problem lying in a real courtroom. I know this because I took the production company to small claims court for breaking the promises of rewarding my money, humiliation, not conducting a fair hearing by not allowing me to speak or show evidence and telling me that my case will be undergoing the California laws. The producers of course denied these obligations and won.

When asked to show the judge the taping of the show, the company refused to show the original stating that they did not keep copies of them due to usage of tape, (which they also promised I would be receiving a copy of before the show airs). I personally don't believe that and neither did the judge. Although I lost, the courts did state that I was humiliated, not shown a fair hearing and the production company did not abide by the laws of California, therefore I should have not have lost my case. I have this evidence from the verdict. But it was the arbitration agreement that crippled my case. The agreement actually states that Judge Judy doesn't have to abide by any laws. So after I read the arbitration agreement that was sent in the mail 2 days before I would attend on the show, I had some concerns and changed my mind.

The producers then threatened to fine me 5,000 dollars stating that I already signed the contract that I would appear on the show, so I signed it under distress. Once again the producers denied saying this in the courtroom, stating that they do this so you won't attempt to go on another show, yet that is not mentioned in the contract, which they also lied about. What the producers do is send you a letter saying you will appear on the show before sending you the arbitration agreement letting you believe that this is the only agreement that you have to sign then slams you with terms and conditions when you actually appear. It's a trap. The show claims to be real justice and that's why people go on the show for justice, but what they are really creating is injustice for ratings.

As another man had mentioned in a previous complaint, there needs to be a class action suit against this show. Judge Judy makes 300+ million dollars a year to get away with not having to go by any state laws and creating her own by stating these four words "This is my world". How is that justice? My case was also similar to another case involving a white lady who too was illegally kicked out her home, making her homeless like me yet she won. I wonder if that is because I'm black and she is white, because honestly it doesn't add up.

The lawyers slurred speech, and the judge could not understand him. Judge Judy never asked the defendant anything. She addressed him in a low tone, but she yelled at the plaintiff, "Your father would turn over in his grave if he knew you used part of the money he left you to pay a lawyer for a drug dealer. He's a drug dealer", she yelled. Judy makes the decision and judgement that those who are arrested for selling drugs and not convicted do not have the same rights as other citizens to have lawyer representing them. How ridiculous. She should be punished somehow. But because of the big money she makes for CBS, NOTHING WILL HAPPEN TO HER AT ALL!!

I am a long time fan of Judge Judy! I particularly admire her directness and fairness with the plaintiff and the defendant. However, I noticed for the past few months, she has been very culturally insensitive to some of the litigants. I am disappointed in the fact that she imposes her White culture (way of life -- how she responds to certain situations) upon person's of other culture (particularly, Blacks or African Americans). She is there to enforce the law and she does an excellent job doing that. However, when she refuses to deal with a case from a legal stance, because she did not believe the litigants' story (since they did not do what she would have done in that situation), then I think that she is becoming unfair which may be due to her being culturally insensitive.

Being a Black person myself, I can appreciate why Blacks do what they do in some situations (which is different from what a White person may do given the same situation). Yes, some Blacks will loan others (friends, family and in some cases strangers) money when they themselves have very little. Yes, Blacks will not call the police on a sibling who has crashed their vehicle, because they do not want the sibling to go to jail. No, all Blacks are not Bad people who are out to "trick the system." As a matter of fact, the majority of us are honest, hard working people, who are making a major contribution to the American society. In most cases, we Blacks view family different from our White counterparts. Yes, we even enable some family members, but that is because we culturally believe that we need to help and protect them.

Please do not think that I do not want you to uphold the law and that I want you to allow Blacks to get away with their wrong doings (H...No!). I will be the first to say, "do not let them or anyone else get away with it." However, I think that you should be more culturally sensitive and that you should not compare your way of life to those from other culture (and even with your own culture especially those from a low socio-economic background). Having a father that was a dentist and the fact that both you and your brother were able to go to college and obtain prominent degrees speaks volumes of the difference in worldview than that of many people).

If the litigants do not provide the proof to prove their case, then rule against them or dismiss their cases. However, when you refuse to entertain a case even when the litigant has the documented proof (because you do not understand why the litigant would help a friend by lending her more than half of money that she (the litigant possesses), then that is being unfair! it is important to be aware that many people have a different way of life than you. This does not mean that their way of life is stupid, less important, or wrong. Their way of life is just different and as a judge, you must be open to cultural differences (beyond language)! Thank you and I hope that you go back to being the Judge that I admired and watched for many years!

My name is **, I was on the Show June 16th, the one with the flag flown upside down. I was wondering a couple of things: Why is it that when I or anyone will testify and we or I would say, "what they said, or what the police said, or I assume" we are stopped dead in our tracks and are told "I don't want to hear what they told you or what they said to you or what you assume, I want to know what you know" but when she go part way through the conversation with me, she herself states "One can assume with the amount of people living in the community, there would be people that were angry." REALLY, one can assume? How is that? One could assume that my fascination with women would make me Henry the 8th, one can assume, it's not a matter of law, assuming is not fact and therefore cannot be labeled truth therefore not admissible, therefore not just my opinion but hers as well should not be allowed! One can assume....

The other fact is this, Judges are to be impartial in all cases, this everyone can agree on, right? Hmmmm well then, Judge Judy gave us her true feelings when she dealt her closing speech, per se, by saying "I would be angry / offended if I lived there" referring to the community and the flying of the flag. Again, this was not impartial but her feelings, which we know are not to play part in delivering any kind of justice, but a matter of law. She herself set the stage with, "if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, then it's a duck..." I did show that the person I was accusing of cutting down my flag pole was really that duck, she seen it, he made the verbal threat, it was witnessed and reported, no other reports made, and yet the pole is cut down like he said it was going to be. How is that not considered circumstantial evidence? There have been many cases with Judge Judy won on a lot less.

This man also reported that I was evicted from my home, you showed it and aired a false accusation. I manage a million dollar facility and deal with a few thousand dollars in cash monthly, my boss viewed the airing, questions began to arise from that statement you aired: if I can't manage my own home or finances how is it possible to manage my job? You should not air things without first checking them out especially ones that are slanderous and create defamation of character. I am not sure how to play this one out, contact an attorney concerning this and see where or what options I have. I have a feeling that Judge Judy has slipped and allowed her personal feelings get the best of this case and her judgment for this case. Also the airing of hurtful and intentional malicious untrue statements? What if any, are your comments to resolve this? No comment results in you not giving a care and for me to contact an attorney for this.

Story is FAR too long, but basically, I was ASSURED I had a winning case, yet found out later they also told that to the party I was opposing! I was forced through the process SO quickly that they did not allow me to see most of the contract I was supposed to sign, and I didn't see the last page at all. When I got on air, Sheindlin refused to look at my evidence and the one document she did look at, she dismissed, a document that would have won my case in ANY other courtroom. I learned later that she had decided the outcome of the case BEFORE I even showed up so that they didn't have to pay me the $6,000 I was asking from the defendant.

There is SO much more to this story: the lying from all producers, their contract and the fact that Sheindlin broke ALL rules of the court, humiliated me in public and made accusations about things I did that I never did do... etc. Ad nauseam. I could never tell the entire story here, but I believe all our stories against this show and Sheindlin should be taken more seriously as this show is a FRAUD!!! I would LOVE to tell my story IN FULL, as I have a complete log of exactly what happened. WHERE can I present my case so that they will STOP paying this insane, immoral woman millions of dollars to do what she's doing to innocent victims? We are forced to sign a document to not reveal what we experience on the show, so no wonder they are getting away with this. It is far past time to expose all this and tell the TRUTH about this show.

When the staff contacted my husband about having our case arbitrated on Judge Judy, I ignored several red flags I initially felt regarding the integrity of the show. My first mistake was to ignore the gag order litigants had to sign preventing them from posting their experiences on any form of social media. Is Judge Judy really so afraid people will expose her for the fraud she is? The second was her representatives' refusal to disclose any information regarding the defendants defense so that we could prepare properly for our hearing. As it turned out, no preparation was necessary on our part because Judge Judy had decided our case without actually hearing it.

Judge Judy did a grave injustice to my family on so many levels, with each adding to the already unbearable pain we felt upon our son's death. It can't be the only time this has happened probably many times over with other litigants. She really had no interest in actually seeking truth and justice as long as the pretense allowed her to appear intelligent, decisive, and witty, even when she most assuredly was not. I understand now why her audience consists of paid actors. Like the litigants, a real audience would see her for the duplicitous woman she is and her search-for-justice facade would crumble. They would soon realize that Judge Judy is acting for the television cameras only.

This travesty of justice would have been bad enough if we had sought Judge Judy out, but her people came to us, promising a fair, impartial hearing and not the charade that we were subjected to instead. Since I cannot undo the terrible injustice she did to us in failing to return our sons personal property, I will continue to share my experience in as many media forums as possible.

I only wish I had read the reviews before I went on the Judge Judy Show. I knew it was a "show" and I was going to be subjected to ridicule by her brash attitude and remarks, but I was absolutely devastated. I had a solid case that could have easily been won in any court of law. I am a landlord and had filed small claims against a tenant I had evicted. I had bank statements showing non-payment of rent, pictures, police and animal control reports, (where neighbors had called on the tenant), I had receipts for repairs that had been itemized, I had letters I had sent the tenant and voice mails with signed witness statements allowing me to use them.

I was contacted by letter, and hastily responded, thinking it would be cool to appear on TV and instead of just receiving a judgment on the tenant, I would be paid a cash settlement up to $5000. I was suing for more but knew that was all I could collect, which was fine, I would be recouping some of the repair money. There was some communication but all the "contracts" state Big Tickets Production is under no obligation that you will be selected. So I was like everybody else, on pins and needles not knowing if you are going or not. They do not get back to you when they say they will. Then last minute, boom, they call. Fedex more contracts on Saturday, I was flying out on Tuesday. Then Monday they call, my case had been dismissed, I had to re-file and by the way my tenant was now suing me. Are you kidding me?

I couldn't believe she even agreed to be on the show, now she was suing me. I had to laugh. They put you and your witness in one room, the studio is not nice like you would think. You sign more contracts, they tag your evidence like they are going to use it, then they bring you in a script and get very upset if you try to correct it (JJ doesn't like you to change the script I was told). JJ talked to me first, fussed at my tenant about a few minor things (for show I am sure). With all the evidence I had JJ picked out 5 pictures, discarded 3 of them, never called on my witness, never listened to the voicemails. My tenant lied, lied, lied. She actually had a video showing the rental cleaned stating this was how she left it. I can prove different.

Anyway, she won the case, her security deposit back. After all that, I did some checking and you can too. You cannot sue a person for lying in court, our justice system states they want the citizens to be able to speak freely and not be afraid of getting sued. I know the tenant broke back in the rental to get the video. I can prove that, but it is an empty house, nothing stolen, nobody home, it is a simple trespassing charge. Why is it that the contracts are real, JJ decision is final, but the actor audience is fake, the courtroom is fake, she is fake. You get to lie and put on a show. You are even given a written script about your case you are suppose to follow. It is an absolutely a scam, a circus. I too should have known better. If you have a real case and want to present your evidence, do NOT go on the JJ Show. She is a disgrace and should not be allowed to use Judge in her title, it is misleading and deceptive.

My husband received an invitation from an associate producer to have our small claims case arbitrated on Judge Judy. This producer informed us that Judith Sheindlin was a renowned jurist with a distinguished career of many years. We had filed a claim in a county court for the return of our son's personal property, which had been stolen by his friends 36 hours before he died. We accepted the invitation, confident of justice, because we had a notarized, Power of Attorney document giving my husband the legal right to manage our son's assets and finances prior to his death.

Upon entering her courtroom, Judge Judy's initial reaction was to express outrage for the frivolous lawsuit that the shows associate producer solicited. As a witness, I was instructed to raise my hand during the court proceedings if I wished to contribute to the case, which I soon learned was a complete contradiction to courtroom decorum.

We were chided for not paying our son's medical bills, even though there were insufficient funds in his estate to cover all expenses and taxes. Judge Judy apparently did not understand that the income taxes incurred through the liquidation of our son's stocks took top priority. I still remember how perplexed she looked, uttering the word taxes in a questioning manner as though she had never heard of them, when my husband explained that we had to pay his tax bill first. By the time the show aired, the editors corrected her error as this exchange was cut.

Judge Judy also appeared ignorant of the law when she ruled that the rights of our son's friends superseded those of his family in awarding them his personal possessions. This property was taken while my husband had the legal right to it. Incredibly, Judge Judy refused to even look at the Power of Attorney document, which my husband offered as definitive proof. Again, her refusal was edited before the show aired.

We decided to pursue the case on Judge Judy after exhausting our personal attempts to have the defendant served with a subpoena, believing we would get a fair trial, but instead were subject to contempt, rebuke, and humiliation while both the content and evidence of our lawsuit was overlooked entirely. This was not what we were led to believe in our discussion with the shows associate producer.

Needless to say, this has been a devastating experience for our family. We received hate messages after the show aired, calling us vile names that one could only imagine. This occurred while we were grieving the loss of our beloved son. Our experience was definitely not one of justice, not even entertainment, as Judge Judy appeared to be prejudicial, vindictive, and vicious toward us.

Judge (questionable) Judy is an arbitrator in these matters and the contract they presented to me at the studio, stated she does not have to follow any arbitration rules or laws of any jurisdiction. I believe for this reason, the company is consistent in the use of trickery to get one to commit to the show. It borders on bait and switch, and high pressure sales tactics. When I first received the letter committing me to the show which requested a social security number and my witness name only, I held a teleconference with the company and my witness to confirm our agreement. Then I signed and returned two pages of this initial agreement. The day before I was preparing to leave, I received via USPS an additional contract requesting to air the show with additional terms. Without time to review or take the additional contract to an attorney, I contacted the company and said, "Let's void this agreement because there is no reviewing time available and I would not have committed to the show if these forms were sent together." After reminding me I was obligated, the company continued to lure me with false statements such as "this would be a real trial and all evidence would be reviewed."

My witness was a well established professional from the Washington, DC area. To my bewilderment and his shock, when I first arrived, we were scheduled to share the same hotel room. When we went to the studio, my witness was given a contract to sign for the first time along with $5.00. When I signed the contract that day, I received nothing. Later when I went to the fake court room, the producer abruptly stopped my witness saying, "We do not need you." He and I were livid because 50% of my evidence was with him. He had lost days of work to accompany me under false beliefs. Guest what? The other party to the case had her husband as her witness, all evidence was not heard and she won the case. When I realized Judge Judy was not competent to hear a Virginia landlord case, I quoted her the "Virginia Landlord Lord Tenant Act." You should have seen the look on her face.

My fiancee was involved in a matter that was on Judge Judy. I won't argue for her or drag it all out again here. I will share my opinion though. As I have been informed, there was not much editing prior to airing. So my thoughts are based on the episode itself.

In the episode, Judge Judy's performance would be considered incompetent and borders on negligent. She shares personal beliefs and feelings rather than hearing facts, witnesses, and testimony, and disregards the law by doing so. A judge is to be impartial and not solicited irrelevant details and base their ruling on such impertinent items. Additionally, Judge Judy actually refused to hear testimony from a witness. As I recall, she only heard what would be considered by most as a synopsis at best. Nearly the entire encounter was a stage for degradation of my fiancee and the belittling of her by a person that didn't do the job they claim to do.

Were the facts heard and weighed, I could be satisfied that the system was followed as well as respected. It does not matter whom the law sided with. The ruling in any professional courtroom could have been and would have been contested since there was no impartiality. Real life judges would be disbarred for such things. I guess that is why she does the show instead. To play judge and hide behind the show's appearance agreement to be able to mock a prestigious position. Not to mention the representation regarding the appearance and compensation for it. They have destroyed our faith in the system and made my fiancee feel depressed, inferior, embarrassed, and worthless when she finished the taping.

I understand that there is little detail at this time. I purposely have tried to not discuss the facts in order to keep myself protected from the other party and possible repercussions or damage to a potential future case if one were warranted. As a disabled veteran, I fully support the right of everyone to have their own opinion and to be able to express it. However, one person's right to expression and opinion does NOT allow a person in a power position to trample the rights publicly of another. If anyone wants to discuss directly all the details and possibilities, we would love to chat.

I felt and I am pretty sure now why my case got chosen. I was a victim in criminal case and the defendant’s attorney created a new law firm with prosecutor in which they got a judge along with them in the secret conspiracy. The local court system definitely does not want me to bring that conspiracy for public view to oversee it. They scheduled to kill me and my claim through that show, to humiliate and insult me publicly and throughout the USA. Everything in rush, they did not let me to read any of theirs papers and just pressured and rushed me to sign their papers. They screw up my video evidence of mail and documents theft, vandalism, violation of restraining order, signed false statements under penalty of perjury and made auditorium to laugh again.

The audience knew when they need to laugh hard and my claim that had a major claim of emotional sufferings for two years was put in fun at the beginning. I was not allowed to explain what my emotional sufferings are about and was not allowed to present the material evidence. The Judge Judy demonstrated that she does not know that criminal case began with the police report and after that filed in court by the District Attorney Office. She accused me filling the criminal charges against 'poor' defendant who was stealing my and other people's identity, vandalize property, lied under penalty of perjury, and I need to stop to go after that 'poor' victim who did not know that her criminal activities got recorded. It is not a judge; it was an actress who helps bad people to win.

My case was for a maximum of $10000.00. I have more than 10 criminal false accusations done by the defendants by her own hand writing under penalty of perjury, lies under oath, and all of that concluded on the video in my hands right in front of Judge Judy. But the defendant was allowed to scream publicly with no real incident report at the Judge Judy Show that I stole from her $2000.00. People who has valuable claim do not believe Judge Judy Show that they are going to pay you $5000.00 and will help you to win based on your unbeatable evidence.

It is a cruel, ugly entertainment that they provide on TV. They are scammers and hurt me nationally. Now after I was continuously hurt and scammed by local experienced shark in legal system who learn how to use lies effectively and kill people without a gun. Recently, I was on the show. My contact for the show was Courtney **. Ok, where to start. Ok, I was told by Courtney just before my original hearing date in the real courts that the continuance form, sent in the day before, was received and we were all good. So I didn't show up on that day to the real court. I was on Judge Judy two days later. I got the legal paperwork the day just before I was to be on the show. I only got a chance to read it that night. I noticed something Courtney and I had never talked about that really. It said their payout limit was $5,000 and my suit was for $9,500. It was late and I went to bed. I was nervous about the show and forgot about that until when asked to sign all the stuff I read the night before, it came back to me. I expressed my displeasure about not knowing anything about this. She said only once. Oh and I think her boss was standing right there. We discussed that. I had to disagree because we had not. That is something I would have wanted to talk much more about being that is half of what my suit was for.

We were just about to go on. Everybody was in a hurry. I didn't know what to do. My brother had come a long way and missed work to be my witness. I had drove in in traffic. I didn't know what to do. That is only half. The guy I was thinking was Courtney's boss started in with the "well, you know you will get paid here within 30 days. The regular courts who knows when you will get paid. $5,000 for sure here within 30 days or wait until who knows when." I felt a lot of pressure. Both from having my brother take a day off work and drive all the way from Riverside and from the people at the show. I finally agreed. Oh and before that came up. This same guy was giving me advice on what to do. It seemed strange because everything he said to do was the opposite that I would have done. Example, if the defendant was lying about something. He said to stand there and shake my head no and in a manner that it was obvious what I was doing. He said to make sure to tell my story even if she was talking. Which I know she doesn't like to be interrupted.

When the hearing started, it quickly became perfectly clear to me her decision was already made. She started telling my story not me. I would try to say something but she would look at me like you open your mouth and I will throw you in jail. She never smiled, at my witness or I. She talked to us like we were ** or something of that nature. She would roll her eyes and laugh at everything my witness or I would say. She told me what I did and when I said "no, I did this," she shook her head no and looked more upset. Then she started talking about a couple things that had nothing to do with my case. I couldn't shake my head no when the defendant was talking because she never talked to him. One time real quick. That was it.

Like I said, my case was over before it started. Like a complaint I read a minute ago. She didn't care at all about the truth or justice. She cared only about ratings with her eye rolls and dramatics. Judges are suppose to stay neutral. So I lost with her dramatic standing up and saying "you're not getting nothing" as she storms off the set. To add to the nightmare that is the Judge Judy show was her overacting. How fair can it be when she, not me, tells my story. Rolled her eyes at everything my witness and I tried to say which wasn't much because she was doing all the talking and didn't even ask the defendant anything. Then there is the two things she went on about that had nothing to do with my case. I know they withheld the $5,000 limit thing from me and only told me right before the show started. Knowing I would be nervous already about the show. Being rushed and nervous isn't the best way to make a decision.

I know whoever it was giving me advice was giving me the wrong advice on purpose. To do things he knows makes her made so there is more dramatics. Then during the hearing, not being able to tell my story and all the rest I said, it wasn't hard to see what was going on. The studio didn't want to pay me. It would be interesting to see the ration between plaintiffs wins and defendants wins. There were more things than what I said here but already wrote a book. It sucks that everybody involved with the show don't care that some good people are loosing out because of them and some real lowlifes are getting away with what they did.

I learned something in your courtroom/TV set there, Judy. Not Judge anymore as much as an overacting TV star. I did learn from you Judy that crime does pay. AT least on your show it does. What was my case. My ex brother-in-law stole part of my inheritance as well as my two nieces and nephews and just might be responsible for my sister's death. None of that was heard because she knew my story much better than I did so she felt she needed to tell it. You didn't know about that. You just may have helped a murderer successfully get away with another crime. Way to go, Judy. Hope you can sleep well at night. A real criminal's best friend you have become.

People please beware. Things sound so good when they are trying to get you on her show. You don't get stabbed in the back until it starts which is to late. Go to a real court room and in front of a judge who is still a judge. Wear at least someone will hear your story. I don't understand how a judge can't make a decision when she didn't hear my story and didn't even talked to the defendant. Yes, really informative decision she made alright. Studio didn't want to pay me so let's not even give him a chance to tell his story. Might just be so clear to what the defendant has done. We will have to pay him so Judy, Don't give him a chance. Stay away people, stay far, far, far away. If things sound to good to be true. THEY AREEEEE.

I supplied them with all my evidence and they had me sign an exclusivity agreement. Then Cybil (producer) said Randy Douthit (Exec Producer) didn't want to do the case since a specific witness wouldn't do the show. Then Cybil called and said he changed his mind, and the case was "approved." They urgently emailed me forms they said I had to sign immediately, which they filed with the real court (continuance forms). Then they overnighted me directions to the studio, gave me the date of the taping, and overnighted another batch of forms for me to read and sign.

After all that, they breached the agreement to hear the case AFTER the real court date had already been rescheduled. As I was leaving California, it was impossible for me to hang around and wait for the new court date. So not only did I lose the opportunity to collect from the guy, but he showed up in court with a suit against me and got a default since I was no longer in California. None of this would have happened except that I trusted the Judge Judy show. I relied on their express representations. I relied on the written and verbal contract and promises they made.

First they said it was Randy's decision, then they said it was Judy's decision that the case didn't interest her. Either way they breached the contract and cost me thousands plus a judgment against me. Their attitude was that I could still have gone to real court the next month, but that's a lie since I no longer lived there. Judge Judy doesn't give a hoot about anyone but her many homes, her ego, and ratings. CBS has a promotion that says "CBS cares," but that's also a lie. CBS doesn't care. I even reached out to their legal department and Les Moonves and was ignored.

I think if everyone with a similar story (and there seem to be quite a few) got together with a class action lawsuit of fraud against CBS and the show, we'd have a good chance of getting some justice. The show needs to be exposed for the scam that it is. The network needs to be held accountable. The first place to hurt them is in their pocketbooks. Find out which advertisers support Judge Judy, and contact those advertisers letting them know you will boycott their products as long as they support the show. Tell everyone you know to boycott CBS until the network makes Judge Judy "do right" by all of us who were betrayed and deceived by the producers' misrepresentations.

And yes, I would love an attorney to contact me, as I am ready to sue the show, the producers, the network, the distributor, the advertisers, all of them are severally and jointly liable for the breach of contract from which I suffered tremendous loss.

I recently appeared on the Judge Judy show and I have to say that like all of the other comments that I have read, it sounds like everybody has the same opinion of her as I do. She is not interested in the truth or in justice. The only thing she is interested in is ratings. As with a lot of the cases I have read about, she never let me speak and every time I tried, she told me to shut up and told me what an idiot I was. (I have to kind of agree with her on that or I never would have agreed to appear on her show.) At no time was she interested in hearing the truth but only what she wanted to hear. She should be pulled off the air and put in jail for all of her injustice that she has been part of. I hope that anybody out there thinking about appearing on her show reads this first, thinks twice about doing so, and remember that it is not a court of law, but a TV show and that is all it is.

Judge Judy is a sham and nothing more than a trollop. I watched Mrs. J. place a child on the stand, which should be illegal. This is nothing less than child abuse. I would have shot her if she had done my child that way. She is not now nor ever been a judge. I couldn't care less what her previous occupation was. The show should be pulled off the air.

The scar that will last forever from her friends who see her on TV! This child will be rum out of town or chased from school after school for nothing more than a dollar! Judge Judy has broken every vow every part of am oath to uphold the law! To hell with Judge Judy. We all long for her being cut off the air! Where is the DHS? If my child walks out in the front yard without clothes and a neighbor catches it I go to jail! She is an idiot! If you have attorneys, sue her yourself! Looks like you could make a fortune. She makes 100 million a year. She can afford to lose a little! The show aired on 03/22/10 shouldn't be hard to find! Where the heck is child services? My guess is you probably work for CBS and are filtering the potential law suits.

That or your just looking to make money for yourself like these other ** leaches who take the money while the innocent are left empty handed! Just like the two who sued Palm and AT&T over service. What did they get (money)? What did we get? A 20% ** coupon off purchases at the AT&T store. Wow, what a joke! Sorry, but I don't trust anyone anymore. If you were legit you would be on this case already. You don't need me to tell you what's ethical and what's not! If you do make sure to tell flimflam Judy, I said to **. I hate you! If you are in the fight for what's right, then you have enough evidence to go after her and are already doing so! I will never watch her show again! Just seeing her ** face makes me want to put a 357 sig round through it! And if I were her dad I would do it! **! All in the name of a dollar.

I was contacted by the producers wanting us to solve our case on the program. Having never really watched this type of show, I agreed. The producers told me repeatedly that my case was a no brainer and that all of the evidence I needed I had already. They told me that the sheer fact that my previous landlord had cashed a 3 year old check (he found in a file cabinet) was evidence enough (it seemed so for me as well). When we got to the show, the same producer told me that we should lie and change our story. We were rushed to sign countless legal documents while being pushed onto the set. They also told me to get angry and go on stage in an angry fashion. I was very upset as they literally told us to lie.

I asked to review documents that the defendant would present and that request was denied. It was clear to me after the taping that they were not interested in the truth, only in creating a melodrama, not based on truth, but on what may get good ratings. When we got to the stage, the Judge asked for receipts for rent that they knew I did not have. The case was based on my prior landlord cashing a check I had given him three years prior, which had been replaced with cash long ago. Six months prior to this show, I disposed of all items pertaining to that rental as I had moved out 2 1/2 years prior and figured I'd never need them. This Judge did not even listen to my story for a second. She ruled against me simply because I did not have the receipts for rent, when it had been an extended period of time since I had vacated.

The Producers told me I had such a good case that I should ask for damages, and I subsequently changed the suit for $5,000 at their suggestion. This never even came up on the show. The story of the rental is: I found a condominium on 5-5-05 and gave the Broker (it was a fee management agreement between this guy and the owner) a check to hold the apartment. Two days later, he approved my application and I asked him if we could move little items in prior to 6/1 when we wanted to move in. He told me this was fine, but he needed the check replaced with cash, as it would not clear for 10 days and he could not give me keys until they had the cash. My daughters and I met him at the property on 5/9, gave him cash to replace the check. He forgot it and told me he would throw it out. To be safe, I placed a stop payment on it. I moved in on 6/1 and gave him a check for rent for June and following months until I moved out on 3/1/06. He let me use the deposit (given to him in cash form on the 9th of May) for last months' rent. The prior check was never addressed again until 3 years when he cashed it for no reason other than he found it in a file cabinet. As stated above, I disposed of all records on this property six months prior to this happening so I no longer had the receipt for the cash he had given me. The Producers advised me that I did not need anything else, and that they understood the nature of the case. Judge Judy did not even ask anything about the case, only accused me of trying to get something for nothing. (In addition, I sent them a detailed case history which they compressed into a one page statement. This was what the Judge viewed prior to the case. They told me there was not time to review the statement myself as we were rushed onto the stage. I still do not know if it matched what I wrote).

As a result, the landlord kept my money and even received money for his participation on the show. The funniest part of this was in his post-show interview where he advised landlords to keep good records. This was incredibly comical because he alleged that he did not remember getting the check until he found it in a file three years later. How can he advise to keep good records?

I solicited the JUDGE JUDY SHOW -with the promise of "Justice" advertising "the cases are real, the people are real, the rulings are final! Want Justice? Call JUDGE JUDY (collection on the judgment is guaranteed)"

The day of my trial, the JJ show notified my court they were taking arbitration, leaving witnesses, attorneys, etc. "hanging." Then they failed to contact the court on next court date 1/4/06 for status conference - continued to accept the case promising "taping dates to tape the case for TV" - canceled these dates without notice to all parties, continued to re-schedule other taping dates (again canceling without notice and then rejecting the case after FOUR MONTHS and with only TWO DAYS prior to the rescheduled Court TRIAL (pending since 2004).

Shannon W gave me the 'silent treatment' for 10 days and then notified me via E-mail -(WITH ONLY TWO DAYS BEFORE MY COURT DATE TO SUMMON WITNESS AND TO CONTACT MY ATTORNEY ) that she was no longer interested in my case and to go to trial in Milwaukee without so much as my court papers they still had in their possession. -Sarcastically disclaiming GOOD LUCK in court !

My claim was for $4,400 for breach of contract -- the tenants signed in a 'non-standard rental provision contract' -- loss of rent, advertising cost to attempt to mitigate damages , and some repairs from the tenants residing there for one month before evicting.

The judge would NOT postpone my case any longer and when I called in (I had the flu) the court the day of the trial to ask for postponement - the judge refused and dismissed my case with a judgment to the tenants.
