Complaint: I did a search on Google for the N565 Immigration form and the top ad claims to be the application for replacement and is not. The Ad says: "Citizenship Certificate Form N-565 Immigration Direct‎: Apply To Replace Lost Citizenship Naturalization Certificate Today!" When you click that you go to a page Desired Settlement. Once you go to the site from their ad you go to this page ** where it gives you information about what the document is for and a large button to start the application. From there you fill in log in information and then the next step it asks for payment info to do the citizenship application. The amount shown is $129.

I thought this website was an online government service to apply for green card replacement. It appears to look like that down to the color scheme and the look alike government seal as part of a clever (scam), not knowing I registered and paid $149 for an application that is free, free!!! Notice how they make you pay first and by the time you realize it's not US Gov, it's too late. I tried to get my money back minutes later. I called and they connect me to the cancellation department, she said it would be $75.00 for cancellation fee because I click the process button. In reality it's not really process. I told them that's scamming, it's a ripoff. I complained to a so call manager who sounds like the girl next to her (notice how the time estimation to speak to an operator is perfect for every person I've been transferred to) and she told me they can only offer me another 20% off my own money which they stole, so they got me for $50. I mean they can do that!!! Well the government must be getting part of the profit otherwise why would they allow them to keep Scamming people out their hard earned money.

I got my application from immigration direct site and I paid for it. I didn't know there's a site where I can get the form for free and I need to renew my permanent resident card. I filled up the form and everything is ready, all I need is to pay the fee and the call center that works for immigration direct Canada asked me to pay the fee online and I did it 1st time and it didn't worked so I called them again and another call center asked me to put it again and yet again didn't work. I feel like I am being scam. I called for the 3rd time in 2 weeks and the call center female was I found really impatient to me, while I was explaining her about what happened and she told me to stop talking and just listen to her and that is very rude. I got their forms and they gave me a hotline# I can reach them anytime if I have any questions or I need some assistance but they were rude and very unprofessional.

Search on google brought this site up. Enter information, setup login information etc. Pay $100 for Citizenship application help. Did not use service promptly as was still a permanent resident. Got confirmation that money was to be repaid to account. Still waiting....Tying to contact them, my messages have being blocked, error message return. Still waiting on reimbursement.

I was renewing my green card and thought this was the official USCIS site. Too dumb, I did not pay attention and paid the $149 online. After the form is filled and I found I need to pay the $450 fee to government, then I realized this was a scam. I called them and was told they can refund me half of the amount I paid. I said, "I do not need the service and thought it was official. I will go to the government site directly." They then said will charge me $29. I agreed. I shall told her to refund me the full amount.

I was told to wait four to six months. Meanwhile the 90 day refund period passes then they don't have to refund any money.

This place is a scam! Was told I needed to pay $150 for a fee of some sort. I told them I have a low income and needed a fee waiver, so they graciously lowered the fee to $100...wow that's nice right?! NOPE! Those fees do NOT go towards the filing fee! It's a service charge for their "assistance". Taking advantage of poor people is not nice, and not to mention that most of the customers can't speak English as well or can't properly use a computer. I called back for a refund and was given the run around. After much arguing, they reluctantly agreed to a refund...but who knows if they will honor that promise. This company should NOT be allowed to impersonate the immigration website and should make it very clear that they are not affiliated with them!

I too got scammed by Immigration Direct, thought Canadian government would be fully computerized already when it come to documentation, so I applied to renew my PR card after finding out this website via Google search, but I realized nobody report to police so this website can be shut down?

Filled out the questionnaire at the end was accepted with the $149.00 payment. My card was expiring mid May. Now July was wondering not a word from Immigration Direct. Received an e-mail from a friend in Florida saying it is a Scam. Have my passport but need my green card ASAP. Took me for a fool and I am a vulnerable senior citizen.

I paid $50 towards my Canadian citizenship document replacement. This was debited from my bank account. I had to leave the application and return later. When I returned I was asked to pay $75 for the same process I had gone through 2-3 days before. This is when I realized this was a scam site, so everyone.... BEWARE!!!!!

A year ago I started a citizenship application on the website that popped up immediately when I used google search engine. I was then convinced it was an official website. When I resumed my immigration application about 3 weeks ago, I realized that Immigration direct is not an official us immigration website as their name and all photos on their website suggests. I thought I was filling an electronic application. Then I realized that I paid $219 basically to fill up a questionnaire, not more. This questionnaire won't be electronically transmitted to any official administration as I thought it would. And you can find this questionnaire for free on other websites. We called them right away to get a refund but our claim was dismissed by the associate we talked to. How can we get a refund?

I needed to renew my green card and so I logged into the US web site and started filling in my information thinking I was on the government webpage but was actually on immigrationdirect.com. There was no mention that this was a different site. I went all the way through and upon completion realized that I just paid an extra $150. I called the customer service number and asked them why they were charging me extra money, and then at that time they told me that they were a service company that helps provide the forms to the people filing and then helps with filling out the forms and expediting the process.

This company is a rip-off. Watch out for these people. They will take your money with hidden fees and without letting you know.

Signed up for a green card for my wife and self. They charged us 2 x $159.00 because of separate filing. Did not know that these same forms are available on the Govt. website without having to pay the Immigrationdirect.com website. Try to call and complain without getting any credit for these credit card fees. Besides, paying 2 x $450.00 each to the official U.S. government immigration service. We did not know that we were had until our interview last week by the US Immigration Service when we ask why we also had to pay www.immigrationdirect.com. They advised us to file with the state of Illinois legal aid to recover the excess fees paid. Fraudulent use of the false U.S. website is falsely having been charged.

I thought I was on the legit site for the Immigration Dept. Their company is the first one that comes up when you search for Immigration. Their site looks exactly like the legit Immigration site. When I paid, I thought these were the fees for getting my citizenship. They charge you for using a form on their site that you can get for free from the legit Immigration Department. They charged me $189.00 for nothing. I got some help from my employer/friend recently and that is when I was told that I paid the wrong company, NOT the real Immigration Dept.

I went on this website to renew my Green Card thinking this was the official site (they certainly make it look like an official government website), since it was the first thing that pops up when Googling "green card". I downloaded the form thinking the $150 was part of the application process. In the meantime I changed my last name, revisited the website, and also talked to a co-worker who pointed out to silly me that this is NOT an official government website. It does say on the bottom of the site that they are not in very small print which I missed when I downloaded and printed the I-90 form. Unfortunately, I waited more than 90 days to call my credit card, so they could not do anything.

I googled and they popped up. It was looking like a US government site so I started filling the application. They charged me $318 just for the Application form! I thought it was an official fee for the documents. They are fooling people! I called the customer service, they told me, "hey, there is a note in our Homepage, that this is not a governmental site!" I am so angry, cannot forgive myself for not checking their reviews, like I always do.. Now they have all our information regarding our SSN, a number, credit card info. So what if they sell this to someone else. Besides, the customer service is terrible. I called them several times before reached the supervisor, who simply hang on me at the end, stating she is not gonna reimburse the money they charged me. I think government should do something about this kind of scammers. I am going to file this to the Better Business Bureau.

This company has refunded my fee. They apologized for the "misunderstanding". I have explained if they wish to be considered an honorable company then they need to point out up front that the fee is only their company's cost for assisting with the process. They also need to review all the cases where others have been duped. 93% of respondents can not all be wrong. WATCH THIS SPACE BUT DON'T HOLD YOUR BREATH.

I clicked on the US Immigration link. I thought I was on the government website and submitted all information for an I-90 FORM. I became suspicious when I checked my bank activity and found that the check was paid to Immigration Direct in California. I called and requested a refund, but I was told I cannot receive one, because the services were explained to me. I was not informed that this was not the USCIS, if I had I would have immediately terminated the application process. It is scary to know that a private company can intercept a government process, also their website looks authentic. This matter should be brought to the attention of the Attorney General..

Like everyone else who wrote a review I had googled "renew permanent resident" and they were the first thing to pop up. It wasn't until the application was filed with USCIS that I realized they did nothing for me except take my money. I usually feel that I'm pretty scam savvy but I'm feeling pretty stupid now.

How is this possible? This looks just like the real thing... This must be against the law or something.. This people have my SSN, my ALIEN # and almost my credit card #. I said almost cuz I wasn't ready to file it yet... I filled up the app. Was asked to pay $149 for my green card. I went to put my money into my bank then I got a phone call from Immigrationdirect... I didn't answer but I got voice mail :-/ very strange: Like since when immigration will call you back ha? Well this voice on my voice machine offered 25% off the original $149 fee for my green card... Now this is when I stop doing anything and start to put things together... Don't fall for it, it's not real website. Go directly to immigration in your town but just to be clear, something has to be done with this website. This is not good!!!!

I`m so angry with this company. I thought I was filing directly at the immigration office. I was sucked into believing this was U.S. Immigration Website. I have no idea how this company is in business. Watch Out!!!

I googled immigration and IMMIGRATION DIRECT came up looking like a US government site. You pay them for the same thing you can do FREE on the real government site. Why is it that sites like this can STEAL from the most vulnerable people in the US?

I google "renew my green card" and this website was the first suggestion. So I choose it thinking it is the official USCIS website. They asked me to pay $149 so I thought that is all fees needed to renew my green card. After paying and filling all the information they asked me to pay again the amount of $450!! They didn't mention anything about the $450 upfront and I realized that it was not on the USCIS official site. I checked my credit card online and chatted with customer service and told him that I was scammed for $149. He checked my account and told me that the payment is still pending and I have to wait from 1-5 days to file a dispute. Now I have extra thing to worry about. How they allow this website to scam people like that? They steal my information like alien number and ss number etc. Who wants to pay $149 for something is already offered for free on USCIS website? This website stole my money and my credentials and personal information and somebody has to do something against them.

After googling for "Renew Resident Card", I entered the entry for "Renew Permanent Resident - ImmigrationDirect.com". The site is titled, "Immigration*Direct - U.S. Immigration & Citizenship Form Services" with a US Flag and prominently displayed buttons for "Green Card Renewal, Apply for Citizenship, etc". Unfortunately, I did not read further down the page the statement that "Immigration Direct is not affiliated with the United States government..." Believing to be on an official US Immigration site, I pressed the button for "Green Card Renewal" which leads to an even more official looking page to start the application process for form I-90 and started a questionnaire about the immigration status.

Like other posters, I was tricked to their website from Google Search because the website looks like an official US Immigration Office. I should have noticed because before it did anything, it asked for my credit card and charged $149 immediately. I also ran into several errors in the interface which went into the e-filing, so I had to call the US Immigration to make the corrections. To avoid this kind of ad, you can install AdBlock Plus (for Firefox) and before doing any business please remind yourself to check the company reviews.

I fell for it too but after reading these reviews and knowing upfront that they would try to charge me a $29 cancellation fee I was prepared. When she told me about the fee I told her I wasn't paying anything and they were nothing more than a scam company and I would report them to the Better Business Bureau, the Attorney General's office and any other agency to put them out of business. I told her of all the negative reviews online and I even cursed a little. She checked with a supervisor (lol) and gave me a full refund. I got her name and employee number and told her to send me verification by email that my credit card will be refunded. I still want to report this to Hank (the tv channel that does investigations on interesting topics). This company needs to be shut down. I'm going to try to get this on TV. Gotta be more careful and vigilant I guess because I never thought I'd get taken but I did...only for a day though! lol

Fell into the trap just like everyone else here through a Google search. They seem to pop out on top when searching for "green card renewal" or similar searches of that nature. They make their site look just like a legit government site with a patriotic theme. They charge you a $149 fee, which I thought was part of the processing fee to renew my card, just to use their form which is free from the real government site. They charge you the fee upfront even if you don't submit or finish the forms. I called them to request a refund and was told there will be a 3-5 business days wait and a $30 cancellation fee. Hope this helps somebody when renewal time comes.

Watch out! You are not filing at an immigration online site (for some reason, I didn't see their disclaimer - probably because of a small screen). I thought I was filing directly at the immigration office. I paid $290 for an N-400. Unless you are totally incapable of using a pen to fill an application form, then use this website. There is no reason to use this service really. I filed a paper application (N-400) for my mom a few weeks back and it is no harder.

We got sucked into this scam today. Went online thinking it was a Canadian Immigration site and we were duped into paying a 49.00 fee. Then realized it was a scam after paying the fee. We have called out credit card company and cancelled our credit card and will disputing the charge. These guys are scammers!!!

I was sucked into believing this was a Canadian Immigration website. Once I realized it was not, I called their number and spoke to Jon and he said I would receive a refund within 3 days. I called back and said I wanted an email confirming that, which I received within a few minutes. If everyone is scammed by this company, charge back the money through their visa account. The company would soon lose its merchant visa account and go out of business. The word "chargeback" is the one word they don't want to hear. It is the Achilles' heel of credit card scammers. If you phone or email them, make sure you include "chargeback" in the message.

I had the same problem like you guys a year ago, but you can make a full refund. Just make a copy of these bad reviews and send it to your credit card company to dispute the charges. Most credit company already knew this company is scamming. This company just scams people and every time you ask for a refund, they were always quickly willing to give you half of the refund. If you accept their offer, they'll still make money. Do not let it happen! Just dispute the charges like me. You'd get a full refund. It's never too late to dispute and get the full refund!

I went online today to find a printable form for renewing my Canadian permanent residence card. I clicked into a site that I believed to be part of the Canadian government immigration services and followed the directions there. I went through the entire process of paying $49 via MasterCard for a "form navigator service" that I still thought was part of the normal fee charged by the government to implement these kinds of applications. Then I filled out the entire online form and submitted it. This took me most of the morning. Upon completion of the online form, I was charged another $50 and was emailed a receipt with the heading: Citizenship and Immigration Canada. I wondered why I was paying a second fee, but assumed prices had gone up since renewing my card last time around.

I received an email today from a person asking me to put a link to this company's site on my personal travel web page. I have never heard of ImmigrationDirect.com until today. My page describes my travels abroad, but has NO mention of immigration, so I don't believe a human had actually read my web page and then emailed. A Google search for the emailer's name (Tony ** or Anthony **) has turned up nothing on this person, so I believe that this company has turned to anonymous bot spam technology to attempt to get more Internet exposure. I thought they were the official website of USCIS and started to file my application. After having answered a few questions, they charged me $149 for Form I-90. Thinking it was part of the application fee, I went on finishing the filing. Until I was charged $450 for the application, I realized I was trapped: I paid $149 to them for redirecting me to the USCIS website. Actually, I could have e-filed on USCIS.GOV for free.

I thought this web was a part of helping people to apply for citizenship test. I registered and paid $189 for application fee. After a day, I did not see any payment confirmations or notices from Immigration Direct. I asked people around and they told me I should get my money back. I called and they said it would be $29.99 for cancellation fee. It was a ripoff. I complained to the assistant and she told me, "Go ahead and call your bank to take your money back. We will not give your money back if you do not pay the cancellation fee." What kind of system is that??

I had submitted halfway through yesterday, May 29, 2013, an application for Canada PR card. For some reason, decided to Google the company (Immigration Direct) on the net. After reading their reviews, I decided to stop the application altogether though I had given most of my personal details, contact number, etc. This morning, I got a phone call from +1 415 800 0728 and she introduced herself from Canadian Immigration! So, so glad I'd read the review prior to submitting and paying their charges, etc. How can you mislead the public in general claiming you are from Canada Immigration? Shame on you!

Wow! Too bad I did not check the reviews about this company before they charged my credit card for $149. I see I am not the only one who made a huge mistake by listening to people on the phone who said, "You have less than 9 months left until your green card expires, so you have to fill out the application through us, so this way will be faster." No, it is not faster. My friend sent out an application a week later than I did and had the interview for citizenship the next day! The day of the test, I asked the judge about this website. She said, "We have nothing to do with them. Try to get your money back."

I would like to repeal a refund of $199 charges that have been applied to my account, from Immigration Direct. I believe that the following business "immigration direct" does not reflect the true immigration website, to apply and fill a form I-130 petition for relatives is free of charge at the immigration web site. To immigrate to USA, after search on Google for INS immigration site, the site of Immigration Direct pops out. Thinking I was dealing direct with immigration website, I started filling the questioner, but before I could proceed with name and address, I had to pay upfront.

By Google search, I got into this website. Its appearance made me believe it's the official website of USCIS. When I clicked "Online Green Card Renewal", it required me to pay $149. I paid by credit card as I thought it must be a part of application fee. Just when I was required to pay $450 of application fee at last step, I realized Immigrationdirect.com is not a government website. You can finish online application for Green Card Renewal on USCIS official website with no additional charge. Just that easy, I became a victim of a scam.
