    Safe Auto has to be hands down the absolute worst for car insurance out there. Their agents are lazy boldfaced liars. They create stall tactics and fake cancellations to force you into paying these bogus inflated monthly payment increases. Our payments went from $191 first month 03/19 PAID ON THE FIRST, $195 second month 04/19 PAID ON THE FIRST, to $225 third 04/19, plus a $95 immediately (for not signing some bs form they never sent to us) in just two months. We received two forms (this month 04/19) out of nowhere with "second notice" on them both.... **. We check our mail AND emails daily and never received a form from them. Had we received them we would have signed them and sent them back no biggie. We call them and they're blowing smoke up our **. We tell them we're not paying and we'll just find another agency. All of a sudden they're willing to have the forms faxed over to them.

    Couple days later we receive a "YOUR POLICY WILL BE CANCELLED 4/26/19." We call them YET AGAIN, would you believe they're telling us we're missing yet another form. Well why weren't we told there were other forms missing when we spoke with a "supervisor" regarding the previous form issue? So again I tell them I'm not paying $225 for next months payment plus a $95 fee for April on top of the $195 I already paid.. All because you idiots are having clerical issues and you don't know which policyholder is missing which form. All this form nonsense should have been done when we first signed up for the policy and made the initial payment. I'm not about to pay $500 plus dollars in two months because you idiots at Safe Auto dropped the ball and failed to do your jobs. How is that fair? All this for missing forms. I wasn't late on a payment hadn't missed a payment. Only had the policy for two months. I wouldn't believe it if I wasn't living it.

    Safe Auto is the worst insurance company out there by far. I had been with them for 2 years with no accidents, and no tickets. Always paid on time every month. The one time I put in the wrong account by 1 number all hell breaks loose. They never contacted me to tell me the policy was going to cancel for non-payment. They cancel it on the 15th of the month. Them send me a letter. I call and ask why they didn't send a letter sooner, and they claim the bank rejected the payment a week after they cancelled the policy. So I had paid to reinstate the policy and then cancelled after these shenanigans, and cancel the payment I had made that morning, and they are trying to charge me a $175 Cancellation Fee. They are out of their minds. Good luck getting me to pay. Next step, Better Business Bureau. Safe Auto is a horrible company with horrible people and even worse practices.

    I was hit by another driver while I was parked. I called Safe Auto that same day, the other driver had already reported the accident. They told me the claim number and said that Aiden would be contacting me. I waited several days, unable to use my car, because the outside mirror was destroyed. The first couple of days I was not too concerned, as I was snowed in. I then called them back, because I never heard from Aiden. The woman who answered the phone told me Aiden would get back to me. I asked when, she didn't know. She then claimed that they hadn't called, because they had no contact information, which was not true.

    She tried to get me to take some responsibility for the accident, asking where I was driving to when it occurred. I told her several times that I was parked, not moving. So, Aiden finally called me, six days after the accident. I told him I needed it handled immediately, as I needed a rental. He told me they would do it as soon as they managed. He sent me an app to take pictures of the damage, which I did, immediately, and emailed back to them. I had to call again, because I did not have a rental to drive. The guy who finally called me is now trying to claim that most of the damage had to have been prior damage.

    I informed him that my car had just been in the body shop a month ago, because I hit a coyote and damaged the front end, and that the body shop would have knowledge of the fact that there was not prior damage, so he would have to be amending the estimate/payment as a result. I told him I did not want him to issue payment to me, because I would not be paying out of pocket for damage which was not my fault. Then he asked if I wanted him to MAIL me the estimate, without which I cannot get my claim handled. Why would I want to wait an additional week or more for my repairs? This is the absolute worst insurance company I have ever had to deal with. I would not recommend them to anyone.

    When I initially got my policy, I was paying $186 a month for 6 months. When my 6 months was up, it raised to $206 a month. They said this was due to the taxes raising in my city. Okay, fine. It was still the cheapest insurance I could find. Then, when my insurance policy renewed another 6 months later, they raised it AGAIN by $28 a month. At this point, I have had no claims, no accidents and my insurance policy keeps RAISING. They couldn't provide me with a reason as to WHY it kept raising. I switched to Progressive where my insurance was over $100 cheaper than what I was paying with Safe Auto. They are a RIPOFF. Would not recommend.

    I recently purchased auto insurance through Safe Auto. 24 hours later I receive an email stating my premium has increased by $31 and I will be receiving something in the mail with further details. One week later I receive a BILL “due” in 3 days for more than double the monthly payment I had been quoted and signed paperwork for. There is also a notice with the bill stating my premium has increased by $256. I’m given some story about how they operate on “two dates” and the first one isn’t actually my due date?? The second date is nowhere on my bill but THAT is the date I need to pay by to avoid cancellation. They claim that my accident a few years ago is why my premium increased. Except I gave them all of that information from day one so why couldn’t they tell me the accurate cost from the start!? Because they reel you in with a super cheap start up fee and then jack it up within a few days.

    I will be canceling and already know I will have to deal with more rip off charges for doing so, even though the guy on the phone assured me if I cancel by a certain date I will not owe them anything more than what I’ve already paid. Regardless, they lost a customer in just seven days because they are dishonest and unprofessional. Every other company who gave me a quote was able to immediately include my driving history and give me an ACCURATE premium, so there’s no reason why Safe Auto isn’t able to do that. They do it on purpose and I refuse to do business with a company who operates that way. I was completely honest about my driving history realizing that an at fault accident would cause my premiums to be higher than normal. For them to go about it this way is completely unacceptable!! I am willing to pay a slightly higher premium through their competitor who was HONEST, ACCURATE and PROFESSIONAL from the start.

    I contacted and purchased Auto Insurance from Safe Auto however I was able to get a better deal from their competitors. I called in to cancel 2 days later. I paid $181 for the policy, which was back in May 2018. I'm still waiting on my refund, however, I'm now being told it was sent to the DMV due to Safe Auto didn't have my address. Who sends a refund to the DMV, scammers that's who. Please don't use this insurance company, clearly, it is legal to steal from hard working people.

    I don't have the issues with Safe Auto like I did my last insurance company shelter. I don't get runarounds, it's affordable for my insurance needs, and they are quick to taking care of what is asked from them by me when needed. Also friendly customer service. So far I've had nothing but positive experience. As of now I highly recommend. Hopefully that doesn't change. I've been with them a year now as of today.

    I was going to change to Safeco Insurance. However my husband decided he did not want to so I called and canceled 15 minutes later. 3 days later I see that money is pending to still be taken from my account and instead of it being put back I'm told a check is being mailed. TERRIBLE customer service. Very glad I did not go with this company!

    Have been trying to reach adjuster for 5 days. When I call it places you on hold then voicemail. I’ve called at least a dozen times and left half a dozen voicemails. Even visited their social media sites and was told I would be “contacted shortly”, but that has not happened either. I have never experienced this with any of my other insurance providers. I would NOT recommend SA to ANYONE. I’d rather pay a higher premium than to get such poor service!

    Safe Auto Insurance is an insurance company that I pay money to for really no reason 99.9% of the time. I just pay my bill every month. I don't like how they will up my rate at times without letting me know why. Also, their website was recently changed and it is a pain to use now.

    Safe Auto is a fraud. I did an online quote for an SR22 and after checking two other companies I decided to go with Safe Auto. When I called back less than 1 week later with the quote number they gave me the quote mysteriously went up. After complaining I was told that they didn't have my vin number to which I stated to then that I could not have proceeded without it. Then there was the excuse of my social security number, I don't have not have I had in almost 10 years any fines or tickets and I stated on the app that I didn't have good credit but I was working.

    Their next excuse was that I must've checked the box that says homeowner accidentally because when they checked it they came up with the exact same quote I told them that they quoted me. To which I then asked him "well how do you know I'm not"? Implying that his excuse was bogus because evidently they changed it to nonhomeowner themselves then without even knowing (I hadn't talked back to them to confirm this) if this was true then changed the quote on the fly.

    Then there's the fact that they never ever ever ever asked for any proof of homeownership to begin with, either online or on the phone. Bottom line is Safe Auto is not truthful, they are not to be trusted. Before wasting your time with this fraud of a company my advice is take your business elsewhere. Even though the quote they gave me after the fact was still amongst the lowest I'm taking my business elsewhere. I'd rather pay more to a company I trust than to go the cheaper route and deal with these liars!

    Safe Auto Insurance company is an online insurance company. I do not think the company has any in person offices. They are cheaper than the alternatives, at least in my area. I have nothing but good things to say about them. I had an accident while I was with them that was handle promptly. I would recommend them to anyone that wants to save money.

    I tried to make a payment with 2 cards and they told me I could but I had to make it at the same time. Due to the situation I was in, I couldn’t. The guy said I could 3 way call the other person that would be paying the rest. While calling intl that was going to be a problem. They did nothing to help. On top of this, this wasn’t the first time they had made things difficult for me. I’m cancelling my policy. This company is trash.

    I always make my payments the second I get my paycheck, because of this I know I have no way to miss a payment. That being said, I went to go pay my bill for July, and instead of paying with my debit card and getting charged the $3.95 fee, I went ahead and paid using my checking account or so I thought. I put in my information correctly, and went along with my day. Sometime after, I got a letter saying my insurance was going to be cancelled if I did not pay by 8/13/18. I was confused because I paid a couple weeks prior.

    Now, I paid off my insurance for August BEFORE the due date. I even paid half of it for September. I've checked my account probably twice a week and I've had no updates about how much I owe for next month. But I just checked it a couple hours ago and I OWE FOR AUGUST 9th!!! I am JUST getting an update THREE WEEKS LATE! I am going to start looking for a new insurance company because this is crazy!

    Worst service I have EVER experienced! I had a policy with them for 8 hours! I repeat, ONLY 8 HOURS before realizing my policy did not include full coverage (which I need for a financed car). I spoke to a representative by the name of Luis & he told me I COULDN'T CANCEL MY POLICY!!! Told me to wait 24 hrs for a confirmation or a call back! (Later found out, THEY DONT EVEN MAKE OUTBOUND CALLS) Wtf!!! So I took his word for it & called EXACTLY 24 hours later!

    9 am the next morning I spoke with a lady that was VERY apologetic & was also very confused on why the guy didnt just cancel my policy the previous day! Soo now the $244 I paid I was told I wouldn’t get the full amount back because of “fees” AND because it was a day later even though I CALLED 8 HOURS AFTER AND SHE COULD SEE IN MY NOTES THAT I CALLED 8 HOURS AFTER MY ACTIVATION!!! So I would only receive $189 after “fees”... I didn't care anymore. I just wanted my money back!!! She said it would take about a week...

    Fast forward to today, August 16, 2018 (a week later) I call to check the status of my refund... well I was informed that they were sending me a check!!! I paid with a debit card & was NEVERRR informed that I would instead receive a check or confirmation that the address provided would be suitable to send a check to, my point is they sent the check WITHOUT an apartment number leaving me having to call them a FOURTH time.

    They tell me I can either wait 60 DAYS to get a new check or they can void the check for ANOTHER 26$ “fee” and send me a new check. I am now waiting to get a $163 check from $244 I paid for a 8 HOURS policy! I am MORE than disappointed in these people & HIGHLY upset with the first guy I talked to, I AM going to send this complaint to every single department I can! This could of all been avoided if he just canceled me when I called!!! TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE SERVICE, ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!

    Safe Auto has very deceptive business practices... I've been with them for several years but not without challenges... I had to file a complaint because I'd rec'd my monthly billing statement 3 days before it was due, ensuring Safe Auto could charge me a late fee. Then I'd pay my premiums for the 6 month period and would have to contact customer service to have a supervisor deduct the $10.00 surcharge, i.e. ($241.00-$10.00=$231.00) but I couldn't pay just the $231.00 online though both options were clearly visible.

    I filed a complaint and argued the lower price was the incentive for paying 6 months only to be told the $10.00 was given as a courtesy and would no longer be given... Recently I contacted Safe Auto to close my account because I no longer have the car. Customer Service said there was a $25.00 cancellation fee but I'd only have to pay $5.00 because I had a 20.00 credit on my account and gave me the mailing address. Sent the check but rec'd a notice in the mail stating the $5.00 couldn't be credited to my account because the account was now closed and instructed to reinstate my policy for the amount to be credited or the amount would be sent back and fees would be assessed for Safe Auto having to mail it back to me... I had no knowledge of any $20.00 on my account nor did Safe Auto inform me of such... The accumulation of the undisclosed $10.00 could go on indefinitely not to mention how many consumers this is happening to...

    I am not even a member of Safe Auto and will never be based on my experience with a claim. A Safe Auto insured driver rear ended me and I put in a claim. I had to do the job of the adjuster and take my own pictures and videos to send them through a Safe Auto app so they could do an "estimate". They did the estimate and sent me a check and promised me a rental car while my car was being repaired. I ended up having to pay 4 days for a rental car because they did not want to pay for a whole week that I was without my car. I go through Travelers insurance and also went through State Farm and Progressive before and I never had to deal with such crappy customer care with any of them as I had to with Safe Auto. This is the worst insurance company I ever had to deal with and the accident was their client's fault.

    They only got 1 star because I couldn't do zero stars. UUUGGGHHH! I started a policy on 06/19/18 and paid $235, I cancelled the policy on 06/23/18, I was informed that I was not getting a refund and that I have a balance on the account of $190 because I self cancelled before the intended cancellation date they can charge me 10% of the 6 month premium. Which if I do not pay they will send to collections. I feel like they trick people out of their hard earned money and can get away with it. I have never had an insurance company that keeps our money if you cancel a policy that you clearly do not need.

    My faith in people diminishes every day because you have companies like this that can just scam people and it's legal. They can hide behind a statement in their policy booklet that states they can charges you 10% of your 6 month premium and there is NOTHING the customer can do about it. They can take your money and say ** YOU!!! I am filing a complaint with the insurance commissioner.

    I had to be admitted to the hospital for an emergency surgery and will be out of work for a few weeks. I called to see if they could waive this month's payment as I have been a customer for quite some time. I was told no. Then my policy rates went up to no reasoning other than I suppose they felt that Ohio was getting too good a deal. Tack on top of the highly annoying harassment mail they start pumping out the first of the month and phone calls, they charge you $3.95 to pay your bill online. This company is complete crap when it comes to looking out for their customers. Every one of my other monthly bills I am responsible for were more than willing to help me out in this time of need except for them, and their supervisors aren’t good for any answers to any questions you have. Pretty much, they suck and I’ll be shopping for a new provider ASAP. I can’t be the only person who has fallen on a hard time that they could give a damn about.

    It was rather simple to get an insurance policy through Safe Auto! I was so very happy to have found this. The price is the cheapest that I could find in calling around & comparing prices. Some prices that other companies are asking for are completely absurd! I will never try to get a policy with any other agency! But I hate that my insurance company mails my payment so early & it always says my payment is due way before it is actually due. They also call a gazillion times to remind you of your darn bill!

    I have always used Safe Auto. They have always been cheaper and met my needs for the most part. The people who work at Safe Auto are very kind and always respectful. If they didn't know the answer to my question they made sure they went ahead and asked someone else who would know the answer. They were always very helpful when I needed them to assist me. When I had gotten into an accident, I have received several calls to check on me over a few weeks of time after the accident. However, they only offer full coverage insurance on vehicles that are of newer age. I can't afford brand new vehicles and when I purchased my truck it was a 2001 and they didn't have full coverage available for me and my vehicle. Other than that I absolutely love the company. I would most definitely refer any family or friends even strangers to Safe Auto.

    I never had Safe Auto, but I work in a car dealership for a Buy Here Pay Here and Safe Auto doesn't want to pay out to the bank if the car is totaled. We as the dealership would have to call many times thru the week to get any results. Do yourself a favor do not get Safe Auto. Pay a little more for someone else, we now let our customers know they cannot use Safe Auto for Full Coverage cause of their BS, when you're looking for Insurance view for the reviews and discounts that is the best way to shop for Auto Insurance.

    I called Safe Auto 11/2017 about having a vehicle removed. Come 2/2018 I was wondering why I was still paying the full amount for one Vehicle. I was told they show no record of me requesting to have my vehicle removed.     Was charged my first month then they more than doubled the premium and said if I didn't pay the increased premium I would not have coverage until I paid the higher premium. When I said I wanted to cancel and return my initial payment. They would not return my full amount, deducting fees, etc. The best though was that they would mail me a check! They instantly took my money but they want me to wait to give me my money back. Absolutely absurd! I would give them 0 stars but I was forced to leave at least one!!!

    When I requested a quote from Safe Auto for auto insurance for my son, I listed an accident and a failure to yield citation on their form. The quote came back for $348 monthly premium. I signed up and paid the $348. The next day I received an e-mail stating that I owed $544 more. I called to cancel and was told to cancel it would cost me $348 plus $114 more just to cancel the policy I had for 2 days.

    When I asked why the premium had changed from the first quote, I was told because of the "failure to yield" citation came back from the DMV. I told her I listed it for the quote I was given. IT DID NOT MATTER!! She also stated that in Georgia, they are allowed to keep 90% of the premium to cancel a new policy which equals to $462. First, they quote $348, then bill for $544 more, and require $114 more to cancel. THEY NEED TO BE SHUT DOWN. They didn't do this to only me because there are 100s of bad reviews out there about them doing the same thing. DON'T EVER USE SAFE AUTO or you will be sorry.

    Yes, I realized it could go up from the quote when you're pricing new insurance but DOUBLE!?!? And then when you cancel within 26 hours because you really can get better/cheaper insurance, you're charged $25 cancellation AND a $40 application fee... LOL... WTH!!! If I could give them zero stars I would... How this came to light. I paid them $135 to start the insurance at 7AM. The next morning at 7AM I received a bill due in 10 days for $213!! So I called them and cancelled at 9AM.

    I switched from Progressive to Safe Auto on December 11, 2017. About Dec. 26 I received a threatening letter in the mail that my insurance would be cancelled if payment was not received by Jan. 11 2018. In two days I received a text about such payment, then another letter, another email, etc. By Jan. 11, 2018 I was a nervous wreck, from fifteen days of harassment, I called to pay my bill and was charged 3.95. Wow I thought, then here comes Feb. and the harassment starts again. I paid my bill on Feb. 9 2018 and set up auto payments. On Feb. 26, 2018 they charged me another 117 bucks.

    To make a long story short this company claims to generate your bill cost 10 bucks, yet they have no problem harassing their clients to death. This company not only charged a 10 installment fee but also 3.95 to process a payment. That is a yearly total of 147.40 to generate a bill and process a payment. Once again, they have no problem starting the harassment 15 days before your bill is due, but they charge 13.95 extra a month to pay it. What a joke.

    My vehicle was stolen 12/20/17; as of 2/20/18 my theft claim with Safe Auto is still "under review". We provided everything they requested including handing them over the ID of the thief we found in the vehicle. They have been stalling us and each week requesting additional information that could have been provided in the beginning. Each additional item they request comes with a 7 day turnaround time, so as of today they said they need another 7 days. The adjuster has been indignant to the inconvenience we have experienced.

    We are seeking an attorney to help resolve this further and for compensation as we have still been paying our car payment and insurance premium. As a family, we have lost out on priceless family events because we have no vehicle and the car rental coverage we paid for is a joke, because for a theft we only have $10 a day coverage. We would have had better compensation had we been involved in a wreck versus being the victim of a crime. Oh yeah, my wifes job requires me to have a federal background check and license and they are investigating us as if I am the car thief.

    Paid $78 Bill on 5th. Cancelled on the 12th because I got better insurance for a cheaper price. Asked for a refund, they charged me $25 to cancel and they are only giving me a $3.00 refund! Safe Auto is the worst insurance company out there! Overcharge people for minimum coverage, send cancellation notice 3 days after they mail you a bill.     Safe Auto is the worst car insurance company ever. Don't even waste your time or money on them because all they will do is give you a hard time, give you a big headache and waste your time... Unless of course you have no life and you have all the time in the whole to devote your life to calling them and trying to fix your policy and your bill that would randomly go up for no reason. Not send you proof of insurance until you called 4 times asking for them to send it. Never sending you paperwork you're supposed to sign. OMG I can't believe how horrible the experience I've had with them. I'm so done with them and I would advise for no one to ever waste your time or money with them. They are really not that much cheaper than other insurance companies. Maybe $5 a month you would save for having them which is not worth the bs you will go through with them.

    I was hit by a Safe Auto insured driver who was cutting through a parking lot, came around a corner & slammed into my car which was driving straight on a side road. Safe Auto says they're not liable. So if you have Safe Auto you can make a left directly into oncoming traffic & don't worry. You're not liable. Guess everyone should be off the road when you're coming if you're insured with Safe Auto. Scam insurance company for sure!

    Safe Auto Insurance agent guaranteed me that my monthly bill would be $81 and so I agreed to have them as my car insurer. 9/2/2017 well my next bill was $133 Which I did not pay and they cut my car insurance days short of a month 10/27/2017 that I had paid for and which me and the car insurance agent agreed on. THEN I get a letter from Safe Auto Insurance saying that I owe $35. What nerve! Cons!

    Upon purchasing a new policy yesterday, Safe Auto claims it will take up to 72 hours for them to 'electronically file' my SR-22 with the BMV. Up to 72 hours to send an email??? They had no problem taking my money electronically. THAT was immediate! They won't email the insurance card to me. They won't fax it to me. They won't allow me to come in and pick it up. Now, I have to drive illegally for 2 more days, because they won't give me what I paid for. The only reason I gave them a 2 star rating is because they are the most inexpensive company around. But if you're trying to get your license back? Don't go with these guys. Go with a small company out of the Yellow Pages. You can walk in the office and get the paperwork that you paid for immediately.

    We bought our 2012 Ford Fiesta from a dealership so obviously we had to have full coverage insurance. The price difference was only ten bucks from our previous insurer, so we decided to go with Safe Auto. Fast forward five months and our car was hit by a runaway tire on the freeway. Don't know whose it was or where it came from. Called the insurance company right away and went through the runaround to find out how much they'd pay after us paying the deductible. They sent an estimate of around 3 grand in damages, a week later sent a check for a little over 1,700. Our deductible was 500, but the shop was one of those that pay your deductible if the damages exceed so much. Our insurance came to an end October 1st, so we switched to Geico because it was over a hundred dollars cheaper for full coverage.

    We finally were able to get the car into the shop Monday this week, it's now Wednesday and the shop discovered another 3 grand worth of damages, called the insurance company to keep them updated and presumably for the money to fix the parts. They called us an hour later saying they're now considering the car "totaled". Which is BS because the car still drives absolutely fine, it's just cosmetic damages, a tire replacement, and a few other things that would still relate to cosmetic issues. I should note that every time we called to talk to a representative, it was as if nobody on the other line even heard of a car before. It was almost like they had never done their job before in all honesty. Safe Auto workers are equivalent T Mobile workers. Definitely would not even recommend to my worst enemy.

    One month in and already the worst car insurance company I have ever dealt with. Never before have I seen a company with so many white lies and sneakiness to get money out of you. I have had one policy for exactly 30 days as of writing this, they have charged me 2 times and are now asking for a third that is over twice as much!

    When asking why, I am informed none of the due dates they send out are not accurate (in fact, they are stated as 2 weeks before the actual due date in every price of paperwork they have sent me). So, I paid 1 payment and another unknowingly early, I should have 2 months of coverage? I somehow am only covered for 1 and 1 week, and they are asking for over twice as much for unsigned paperwork they never sent out. Unsure how that math works out, and apparently the customer service reps are unsure as well but don't care enough to help. Please, if you need cheap and good insurance, go elsewhere.

    On Wednesday, July 19, 2017, Safe Auto went to my online checking Account and deducted unauthorized $292.00 for car insurance which they already received on July 14, 2017. I called Safe Auto and explained to them that they have gone to my Checking account and deducted this money which was unauthorized. The Customer Service representative told me that they would refund my money back to me. I told them that was my Car payment for the month of July that they took, and that my vehicle would be repossessed, but to no avail from them. Later, I was told to send my bank statement even though they are seeing that they have this unauthorized money there. However, I did email it highlighting Safe Auto on my bank statement and covering up the other places that I do business with.

    Subsequently, I was told to fax a second copy of my bank statement to their Accounting Department, but I told the young lady that I do not have a fax machine, but she was insisting that I must get one. Then came back and told that she would send it over to their accounting department via email. Later, she gets back to me stating that the Accounting Department wants to see all the items that I do business with on my bank statement of which I refused because I am not taking a loan from Safe Auto, but that Safe Auto went to my checking account and took unauthorized money off of my bank account.

    Later, I called back on Friday and was met with two unprofessional staff members in the Customer Service department and Claims department as they were transferring me back and forth plus had me holding for a long time then cut-off the phone from one person to another arguing that they do not understand me, even though I am speaking the English language which is the universal language in the US and the world at large.

    I then called the number to cancel the car insurance, and a refund of all my monies, but Marsha promised to help me by sending an email to the Accounting department to refund me my monies. Today I called to follow-up, and was not able to get any word on my refund and when I would get my monies back from Safe Auto. But was told again to send proof that they took my money out of my account, and they are seeing that they withdrew unauthorized monies from my checking Account twice. This representative said he cannot help me further.

    Now I need to emphasize that I am not applying for a loan from Safe Auto to be up in my business, for me to send my bank statement to them. Also, I did not authorize them to draft my checking account twice. It was a one-time transaction and to add that my car insurance supposed to be $166.00 per month. While in the meantime my car is being repossessed, and without my car, I cannot pay them for car insurance. As of today, there is no positive word on my monies from Safe Auto, and I am on the verge of canceling my car insurance with them.

    I need my monies back urgently at the same time frustrated with Safe Auto Insurance Company. Also, I would like to advise consumer to do not allow Safe Auto to withdraw money off of your Bank Account because they will take off unauthorized money from your checking account, and you will receive hell from them to get your monies back. I will also report this matter to the Better Business Bureau and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau because Safe Auto is causing me a lot of distress and expense. This is not right for business.

    I opened an account with Safe Auto 9 years ago. I have never filed a claim until 5-11-2017 when my husband hit a pack of hogs during a hail storm in Texas. We met with the adjustor, but never heard back from Safe Auto. After calling 4 times a day to Ryan our claim rep and leaving numerous messages, I have lost hope.     Before you purchase insurance through Safe Auto I would recommend getting a copy of your DMV or motor vehicle accident report claims and accidents to them. SafeAuto will rip you off by adding additional accident so they have a reason to raise your rates. I was told 130 I must and they said I was going to be paying 230 now. They are cheapskates and they will use you in any way to raise your car premium. I highly recommend that you do not use Safe Auto. They are liars. They are users and they love to play games with your customers. I complete this was dissatisfied with the service I had to let my cancel due to the fact they wanted 300 premium to pay and so again I recommend that you have your DMV record to prove that what accidents you had. They will pull anything out of your ** to raise your rates. They raise mine claiming I had 5 accidents not 2 when I had 2.

    I claimed a wreck on 3/2/17 and have just received a quote, a very unimpressive quote at that. Not only that but I am being charged for storage of the car because they do not pay for it after a quote is received. They stated this on the 9th and I got my quote the 15th. Claim was made on the 2nd. I have talked to so many different people that are handling my case, it is ridiculous. I would rather pay $100 a month insurance than this junk.

    I can't believe this company is still in business. They completely prey on lower income drivers and those with less than stellar driving records. Why do I say that? One of the always rude agents outright told me so! They quoted me $70 a month and within two months it is somehow up to $190 - with NO explanation.

    Literally nobody there can explain why.

    Also the first few times I called I was given a different quote each time based on the same exact information. These people are unbelievably rude, and I am pretty good at tolerating that while remaining pleasant. But every conversation in the last two months has been a disaster, I hang up being polite then scream and vent to my spouse. We both work jobs that pay ok but after bills etc we're not left with much, this is the only company we can afford. Be warned that the low rates quoted are inconsistent at best, and nothing more than a ploy to lure you in. It's a shame because years ago I had a policy with them and they were wonderful. Not sure what happened. Note I am basing this on 5-6 interactions, not 1 or 2. Disappointing and extremely frustrating experience, issues not resolved but actually getting worse.

    Last Wednesday, a driver hit my car and ran. The back is needs repair but is still drivable. I did a claim and it took 48 hrs just to get an adjuster. They never answer the phone. Was told yesterday that this falls under Uninsured Motorist and to drop my car off for repair. Get a call later today that they gave the police report, located the driver, but have to confirm he has no insurance. Until they do so, it is under collision instead which is bull crap. He hit me and ran. Obviously he has no coverage. Why am I being penalized? Definitely not a happy customer.

    I was applying online for a quote for auto insurance from Safe Auto Insurance. I went online to get the quote and I came to find out the company did not want any credit information. They did not ask me for my credit score. The only thing they were talking about was my age. The simple fact I was 45 years old, but I have 27 years of experience on the road... I asked the person on the phone about the quote. The customer service agent, the woman kept talking about my age and how old I am. Then she kept telling me my quote of $304 down and $284 a month has nothing to do with my credit has everything to do with my age. She said the same thing 10 times to me, because I asked her different questions about my car insurance for my 2003 Acura 3.2 TL. I even gave her my VIN number, so she could give me the correct quote. But she constantly barraged me with enormous amounts of quotes for my car.

    The other quotes she gave me or I got online for example: my second quote is for $119.00 with 5 payments of $99.00. Then they have third quote for car insurance $207.00 and 2 down payments of $187.00. The fourth quote for $296.00 and 1 payment of $275.00 and the last quote for car insurance I received was $536.00. These was quotes were from 1514913070.

    I hope you can tell customers to boycott this business, and not allow them to receive any other vulnerable customers that will not do their homework and waste all their money on this car insurance company. This company, discriminated against me, due to my age as well as violating my rights to get quality, good and equal as well as affordable car insurance for my 2003 Acura 3.2 TL. I did not spend any money for this insurance, since I knew the lady was definitely trying to scam me out of my money or trying to see how much money she could get out of me today on January 29, 2017. I do not have a receipt, because I did not spend any money. I told the lady that I needed her name, but she did not want to give me her name. I told her I would call the insurance commissioner and report her and she just hung up the telephone on me.

    SAFE AUTO: How they are the most stupid company on the planet. Let me count the ways: Signed up and days later I get the first bill. You call in, and there are three levels of push this number to get... Even huge companies like Amazon and Walmart do not have that many levels. HERE IS THE KICKER: Each month they send you your bill real early, WAY before it is due. If you do not pay right away, they send you a CANCELLATION NOTICE a few days later. NOW, mind you are not canceled. Nevertheless, it says CANCELLATION NOTICE on top. They are just sending you a cancellation notice ten days before your bill is actually due threatening you to pay on time.

    I used to compare.com to get a policy on my new vehicle that I purchased. I am currently downsizing and had a $40k+ 2014 Tundra on a lift that I traded in for a 2017 Camry ($25k+) to lower my payments. I switched insurance to Safe Auto from Aggressive because they quoted me at 180 a month and I paid a $220 deposit. 10 days later they sent me a bill for $630 and when I tried to cancel and get refunded they only gave me back $40. They completely lied to me about the upfront cost, never mentioned that $40 was an application fee. (Total **. I did it online through compare.com.) On the phone and through emails I was never told this until I received this bill. They are dishonest and stole from me bottom line. I am reporting them to Better Business Bureau. Fair warning...     So, Safe Auto claims I didn't pay in June or August. They claim the nonpayment amounts was on next month's bill. We knew absolutely NOTHING about it for 5 MONTHS!! ALL our bills they mailed were the same each month until just now. We suddenly got a bill saying we owe three times our normal monthly amount due!! I called and asked what is going on. GET THIS, I claim I didn't pay June (5 MONTHS AGO) only hearing this now. I said I did pay!! They claim I made the payment and it went through the I supposedly called my bank one minute later and claimed it was a fraudulent charge. WHAT?! Are you kidding me right now?!

    WHY would I do that? So I call my bank and they have to keep records of anything reported as fraud or any disputes. Guess what? YEAH there were zero disputes! Safe Auto is charging me a bunch of surcharges etc... I asked them why didn't they tell me right away?! NOT 5 months later! AND why wasn't it on our monthly bill saying we hadn't paid it until now? YEAH real freaking shady!! Do not even bother with them! I know I'm done with them.

    Okay, so my husband was in an accident in September, he barely left our home when an uninsured driver, with a SUSPENDED LICENSE for the last DECADE pulled into the oncoming lane and struck him head-on. He was rushed to the hospital, nothing broken thank goodness but he had some serious burns and abrasions from the accident, including one that was so bad he'll be scarred for life with it...

    So I called our insurance first that day to report it. (I didn't know the other person didn't have insurance, we had to wait until the following Monday to get the report, but he didn't, and he didn't have a license, the owner of the vehicle didn't have a license, nor insurance even! Both were charged and still haven't even showed up to court to own up to what they did TO THIS DAY, and I faxed and e-mailed them the report several times!). We did everything right, my husband saw his doctor, followed his recommendations to see other specialists, he had to have an MRI, multiple x-Rays and cat scan, all the bills totaled close to $15,000... every week was an excuse, after the first two weeks they switched adjusters on me even!

    First it was, "they didn't have the paperwork"... I mailed, faxed and e-mailed them everything they asked for... then it was, "they were 'getting it together'" (I'll say!) and then finally it was, "they've mailed it all off to the doctors." We're in Pennsylvania, a No-Fault State, they kept telling us that they could not help us until the doctors approved the hospital/doctor bills and then they'd have to pay those doctors/hospital and once they did that, and it exceeded our PIP coverage ($5,000) THEN they could work with us with the uninsured insurance (which by the way, we found out is ONLY medical, they don't help at ALL with collision with uninsured insurance, so if we wanted something for pain and suffering, this was the only thing we could, was wait on their time).

    I painstakingly waited... for almost a full month, it's now November! And finally they call and say "The bills were approved, and checks were cut to the hospitals." I even double checked with the girl, asking her directly that the bills, mainly the hospital that WOULD EXCEED THE PIP, were approved, and she said yes, they were. I thought, I finally! Now they can just hurry up with the pain and suffering and we'll be on our way... So I called the 'other adjuster' because they handle PIP one way, and Uninsured insurance another... you know what the 'other adjuster' tells me? "Okay so your bills were only $1,500 and some change so they didn't exceed the pip so we can't help you on the uninsured insurance claim." WHAT?! HOW IN GOD'S NAME did $15,000 turn into $1,500?! She tells me, "Oh, the doctors had them 'reduced' - they filed some forms and made it happen."

    That is the most INSANE LOAD OF BS I've ever heard. I know medical bills can be reduced, but not like that, never like that. I called the hospital right away and asked them, what happened, and they said they haven't even HEARD from the insurance company, not one of my husband's doctor's or hospital have! They've been waiting for a response so it looks like they're just going to be trying to FORCE the hospital and doctors to ACCEPT what they're paying them, and then try and take it out of my health insurance for the rest.

    THAT'S BALANCE BILLING and it's ILLEGAL, especially in my state! I can't believe they think they can get away with this!! I was in tears, that day, but I'm ready to call a lawyer today and sue the crap out of them. It is the most ridiculous nonsense I've ever heard. This could have been so simple, but for them to go and do this... I mean, what's the POINT of having Uninsured insurance, if they won't help you when you're hit by an uninsured motorist!? There IS NO POINT. Needless to say, I'm done with this company. For everyone thinking this is a nice safety net, watch out, they will flat out deny you after trying to dissolve your bills into nothing so they don't have to pay the uninsured insurance, it's that simple.

    My daughter was involved in an accident with someone insured through Safe Auto in September 2016 in a vehicle which belong to me. Both parties received tickets. My daughter's ticket was for driving in a center lane. The Safe Auto insured was cited for not having a driver's license and failure to yield. My vehicle was totaled.

    After many attempts to contact the Safe Auto insured, the claim representative Melanie ** concluded that both parties were at fault and would pay half the appraised amount even though the Safe Auto insured failed to yield. Melanie ** has been very difficult to make contact with and when I did, she was very rude, yell, and transferred me another person's voicemail. I told her I wanted to appeal the decision and she said basically there is no appeal process and we had no other options.

    My vehicle was illegally moved to a salvage yard and now we cannot find it. My daughter was told today that we had sold the vehicle to a salvage yard. This is not true as I still have the title in my possession. This company has the worst customer service I've ever dealt with. Now I'm going to have to get an authority to settle this with this company and the insured.

This company has done nothing but lie and deceive consumers all to hold onto a few hundred dollars. Each time you call to cancel you are given new information that you weren't informed about before.     TRIED to cancel my policy because I sold my car June 10th. Here we are August 10th and they still have not reimbursed me for the month I paid for insurance when I actually no longer had the vehicle. After numerous phones calls and being misinformed repeatedly, I finally spoke with someone who knew what they were all talking about and I did everything required of me to do/send. Tell me why I still have not been reimbursed and why underwriting has done nothing to complete this transaction. Totally ridiculous and I can guarantee I will never use this company again. I will also be sure and let friends and family know what a poor excuse for a business Safe Auto is. Now I wait for a supervisor to call me back tomorrow between 11pm and 8pm.

    I called Safe Auto two weeks ago to sign up for insurance. After talking to the agent on the phone about the policy, I found out he lied about the policy he was giving me. He gave me state minimum for 122 a month when I was requesting for the same policy I currently have but the same company kept raising their rates with no car accidents or speeding tickets on my record. I called back after finding out I had minimum insurance that did not cover anything. They told me I can cancel if I send them documentation that I currently have insurance. No other insurance company would do that. If I don't want to do business with you I don't have to but they were forcing.

    They then told me if I sent them copies that they requested I would get a full refund. A week has gone by and I called them back and they advised me I will receive 66 dollars back after them lying and now not giving me the full refund as they told me. I am currently disputing the charge with my credit card company that has been very helpful to me. Safe auto is a fraud and please no one use them. I don't want people to experience what I have ever.

    I was involved in an accident over a month ago. I have Safe Auto. It took them one week to contact me about my claim, two weeks for the claims adjuster to call me, three weeks to tow my car to a shop and 4 weeks to fix my car!     Some drug dealer runs a yield sign and hits my car head on. 2 crackheads come and get the drugs and gun out of his car. Then another car shows up to get the drugs and gun out of there before the cops get there. The car ain't even registered to the gangbanger. He lives over 100 miles away from here.     My 2013 Silverado LTZ truck was hit by a Safe Auto insured driver as I was exiting a hospital parking lot. An SUV with blacked out rear windows backed out of a parking slot into my right front fender and door. Luckily I got a police report. It stated "contributing factors for accident" were "failure to yield" and "improper backing" on her part and the word "none" on my part.

    After several weeks trying to get a response from Safe Auto they requested an estimate of damages which I sent to them totaling $4600.00. They sent a lady to take pictures of my truck and then sent me an estimate of $2400.00 for the repairs. Then they sent an e-mail stating that they "had no liability" in the accident and that I was at fault for the incident. When I ask about the police report they replied, "The police officer did not see the accident". After over three months of B.S. I finally got my truck half ** repaired on their estimate and a "take it or leave it" offer.     I was hit by a Safe Auto insured driver. They were quick and courteous when I filed my claim. The next day Kelli ** calls me and explains that an appraisal person would call me the next day. Also I noted that her time was 4:57p.m. My time was 3:57p.m. when she called meaning she called 3 minutes before she was off work. SMH. I waited 2 days no response. So I calls her I'm getting her voicemail every time. I sent her an e-mail in regards to my claim and she responds back saying her computer is having an issue and she apologizes for the delay. Why didn't she call? Then she says could I send her a copy of the police report. Whoa!!! Isn't that her job? She says it would help to determine liability.

    So I ask her about a rental car. She says I have to wait and see if the other driver was at fault and to wait on the other driver’s statement. First of all my car isn't drivable since she hit the front of my car. Secondly I received no citations since she ran a red light. We also have a credible witness which is in the police report as well. Every time I call her no answer but she says she's always on her phone but she's magically available to e-mail me back and forth. WTH? Then she says she will call my witness to verify the information provided like I'm lying. My car has major damage and the whole front end is destroyed and I'm not getting anywhere with this company. Couldn't even see my family for the holidays due to no car not even a rental car. I'm very dissatisfied very unhappy and for me to sit around and wait for weeks is absurd. NO WAY!!!

    My daughter was involved in a car accident with a Safe Auto insured. This happened in a school parking lot. There was a police report that cited the Safe Auto driver at fault. My daughter was sitting still. That was also noted in the police report. We contacted Safe Auto after we had obtained the completed police report. This accident was greater than two months ago. They have postponed handling our claim in which our daughter has been without a car and we have had to make other arrangements at much expense to our family. I not only called Safe Auto multiple times but each time that I called there was a new person handling my claim due to others being out of the office or it being sent to a different department. Even supervisors were not available to help me.

    I faxed the copy of the police report that I obtained two times to them. They continuously put us off and say that they need to have a conversation with their insured to obtain their accounting of the accident. I understand that that is fair. However when their insured does not tell the truth about the accident and it conflicts with the police report this company continues to side with their insured. So now it has been more than two months my daughter is still without her car and I received your voicemail that said that the insured said that she was parked and my daughter hit her. This is completely absurd. I was actually a witness of this accident and I have never in my life been so insulted through a process. I wish that there were some governing official who could evaluate the processes of this company's practices. Very unethical unless you are a Safe Auto insured and you are at fault. I would never use them as my personal insurance.

    Safe Auto is the best insurance company I have found so far because they pay their claims in a very timely manner, and if I have any problems they have a 1-800 number so I can speak with a representative 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. These are imperatives I must have in companies I do business with.

    It was not very good. They told me I qualified for a better rate then 2 weeks later they said I owe them more money for a ticket almost 4 years ago. They are very disorganized and do not explain themselves in a manner that makes sense. I am not sure I will be doing business with them in the near future.

    I haven't had much experience yet with my insurance company. It's cheaper than the rest so far. I enjoy that everything can be done online, from quotes to payment. When shopping I found that a lot of the companies that I wanted to check out didn't let me do online quotes or let me start the insurance online.

Then they send me a bill two days later for an additional 154.00 to be paid within two weeks. I thought I had found a cheaper rate, but I hadn't. They could've stated the reason I was being billed and charged more. I was upset.

    I was rear ended at a stop light by a Safe Auto policyholder driving a Ford F-150 pickup on July 8, 2015. My car is a 2005 Ford Focus SL4. I have two estimates for the damage, one for $2,800 and one for $3,460. The low estimate does not include all of the damage because we are unable to open the trunk because of the accident. Safe Auto sent someone out to take pictures to send back to their home office.

    The adjuster then calls to tell me they are going to send a check out for $1,500. He says that is their supplemental policy. That this is the only damage the pictures show, but if the body shops have a problem or question they can call the appraiser. They won't know if there is a problem until they start working on the vehicle and they will not start repairs on a $3,000 estimate for a $1,500 check. So through no fault of my own I am getting screwed by Safe Auto. A car worth $4,000 before this accident is worth $500 to a salvage yard according to several auto dealers in the area. How can this be allowed to happen. These cut-rate insurance companies are nothing but a bunch of crooks ripping off people.

    I was struck on the left rear side of my vehicle on May 29, 2015 by an insured Safe Auto driver. The driver left the scene before police arrived and I was not able to get her contact information. However, I did take a picture of her white Nissan Quest with tag number **. The following week my insurance company provided me with the police report and the driver's insurance company. I called Safe Auto Wednesday June 3, 2015 and the customer service rep said an adjuster will me on Thursday June 4, 2015 and if I don't get a return by Friday to call back.

    I called back on Friday - the customer service rep said the adjuster called with no response. I called the adjuster Kathy ** and her supervisor Justin ** several times and left messages. June 9, 2015 10:26 am. I'm really not pleased with this waiting service. The customer service rep seems to understand my frustration and put me on hold until she reached Kathy ** the adjuster. Kathy schedules an appointment for me to go to Wolfchase Chrysler Dodge and I get there and they do not service Pontiacs (June 10, 2015).

    Spoke with Kathy on the 11th and asked if she could reschedule to have an estimate of my vehicle at Abra Auto Body and Glass. June 19, 2015 @ 8:30am, the customer service manager Buddy did my estimate and told me he never got a claim from the Safe Auto adjuster for my claim (I thought, really). Kathy had me to speak with Brenna (with Abra) to schedule an appoint while she listened in. I called Buddy back and gave him Kathy's contact information.

    Today is Monday June 22, 2015 at 1:00 pm and according to Kathy's voice mail she will be out of the office starting June 17th through June 29th (WOW). I left a message with Angel ** at 1:09 pm and I left a message with Justin ** - Kathy's supervisor at 1:02pm. I would like to have my vehicle repaired and a rental car provided at no cost.

    Tuesday June 23, 2015 at 12:18 pm, Justin from Safe Auto left me a voice mail about my claim. I dialed his number several times until I reached him at 12:35 pm. Justin asked how he could help me today. I informed Justin that I went to Abra Auto Body on Friday June 19th and was waiting to hear from them. So I called and found out that Kathy has been out of the office since Wednesday the 17th of June and not returning until Monday the 29th of June. I asked Justin who's following up on my claim. Justin said Abra has not uploaded the estimate.. well I guess not because I gave Buddy at Abra Kathy's contact; and she's out of the office. Justin placed me on hold while he called Abra. He informed me that he will get the estimate today and someone else will call me once the estimate is approved.

    Tuesday, June 30, 2015 @ 2:47 pm, left a message with Kathy **. Thursday, July 2, 2015, I called and spoke with Kathy and she gave me the same run around about Abra Auto Body has not uploaded the estimate for repair. Kathy said once she gets the estimate she will call me back. Friday, July 10, 2015, I left a message with Kathy and Jennifer (Justin's manager). Today is July 13, 2015, 12:15 pm and no one at Safe Auto has returned my call from Friday the 10th. Your company truly lacks courtesy and prompt customer service. It has been seven weeks and my car has not been repaired.

    My wife had been taking a class and driven a fairly curvy section of highway at the end of a mountain pass through the winter months in all kinds of bad conditions so was very familiar with the road. She had also taken an emergency driving course as part of her training and has a clean driving record. We'll call her WIFE. It had just finished raining hard and the roads were wet. She is driving her car with a passenger at a safe speed for the road condition and upcoming blind turn she's familiar with. A car careens by her in the passing lane. Let's call him DICK. WIFE enters blind turn to see that DICK lost control on the tighter right-hand turn, obviously crossed her lane, and when she saw him he was just exiting her lane on the right, sliding onto the shoulder then over-corrected and now was coming back across into her lane.

    WIFE hits brakes. Tires lock up. She pumps them to get traction again and does all she can to get stopped. DICK's car has already lost a lot of speed before she saw him but is still moving to the left across her lane and just into the passing lane. She couldn't go to the shoulder when she first saw him because he was there. She couldn't go into passing lane because a car was approaching there. And he was now sliding across her lane and made an absolutely unavoidable collision. Wife's passenger went up and talked to DICK. DICK admitted he lost control and was shaking scared. This is a highway, not a little, dinky back road...a US HIGHWAY. DICK contacts his insurance company, SAFE AUTO. DICK lies to them. DICK says his car stalled and he was rolling it off the road to the right shoulder and got rear-ended.

    WIFE is contacted by Safe Auto and they tell her she's liable for the accident because she hit him and tells her what DICK said. WIFE tells them what happened. They investigate. They contact her for all the info she has which was pictures of both vehicles, the marks on the roadway -- not hard, black marks but easily visible -- the skid marks on the shoulder, and her witness statement from her passenger who talked to DICK. That was considered "biased" because the passenger, a deputy sheriff, was in her car.

    The damage to DICK's car was left rear corner and broke the bumper clips and a little scratched bumper paint. Young DICK's car is remedied with duct tape. WIFE's car, smaller than DICK's, took the impact of the corner of his car about center of grill. Her bumper went under DICK's so she sustained damaged hood, grill, bumper cover, radiator support, etc...a lot of small front end stuff. HOWEVER, not a scratch to front fenders. SAFE AUTO send assessor out and he comes up with a TOTAL LOSS of the car. So...we're out a diesel TDI and 50 mpg. Thanks DICK.

    SAFE AUTO tells us that because they have conflicting stories they side with their person, DICK, and deny the payout on WIFE's car. I contact them to find out how it's possible with the pics of damage, the damage to DICK's car on the left rear, when he stated he was turned to the right pulling off the road when struck, and that he admitted to witness he lost control. They agree to investigate further.

    SAFE AUTO leaves voice mail stating upon further investigation and contact with DICK, he now admits to losing control of his car. They still deny the claim because there isn't evidence to support the claim (that's right, he now admits to losing control of his vehicle). I call back in and speak with **, the SA rep. He is a weasel. States that without a witness account the conflicting stories don't matter. So the deputy sheriff witness doesn't matter or his conversation with DICK, or his details on the incident.

    He also tells me that I'm annoyed because they won't side with WIFE. I tell him I'm annoyed because they're absolutely ignoring, for their own best interest, the damage pictures which obviously and easily prove WIFE's statement and don't line up with what DICK claimed. I also remind him DICK has changed his story now. He states about the damage again. I tell him to review the damage against what was told to him. He states that he and a supervisor have reviewed it. WIFE had to supply them with all kinds of pictures, written and recorded statement, and passenger statement who took initial info from DICK.

    SAFE AUTO DENIED CLAIM AFTER ADMITTING THEIR CUSTOMER LOST CONTROL OF HIS VEHICLE AND CHANGED HIS STORY (!!). THEN THEY DENY THAT HE WAS THE CAUSE OF THE ACCIDENT?!?! He lost control of his vehicle on a blind highway turn from excessive speed and created an unavoidable situation! He was still moving across lanes! Crossed wife's lane twice and they deny claim solely based on "conflicting statements."

    PACK OF THIEVES. It's actually really sad to see that they've ripped off so many of their good customers and withheld payment on claims they admitted in the wrong. HOPE you never have to deal with them on a claim or as an insurer. DICK's using duct tape. We're out a perfectly good car for absolutely no wrong on our behalf. VERY UNHAPPY.

    I was involved in an accident where a client insured with Safe Auto Insurance backed into me from her parking spot after I made a U-turn on a legal street and began driving. Even though I had the right of way on the street, Safe Auto Insurance believes I'm at fault 50%. Therefore, I've only received 50% of the estimate they wrote out for me for the damages on my vehicle and refuse to pay the other half. Because there was not a police report found, or bodily injuries, I'm unable to get the police or an attorney involved.

    All I'm left with to do unfortunately, is take this insurance company and their client to small claims court to try to recover the other half of my estimate to fix my vehicle. When speaking to their claims adjuster, he was rude and spoke to me in a manner as if he was trying to brush me off. Also, when I told him that I believe that I wasn't at fault, he simply asked me if I had any proof and mentioned that his client claimed that her car was at a halt after she backed out of her parking spot making it seem like I ran into her which is not the case. Either way the gentleman at the collision repair shop stated that she should be at fault because I had the right of way on the street. This whole situation has been stressful and even though I wish it would end, it is only the beginning. After reading the other reviews on this insurance company on this website, I'm not surprised at all.

    I'm a victim of a private property accident. My minivan was smashed in on the side electronic door by a safe auto customer. They estimated $1100 to fix. Now all of the sudden the guy who backed into me like a race car driver says there was no accident at all. Now I'm being treated as if I'm trying to add insurance fraud to my resume. They immediately became rude every time I spoke to them. I've never had a return phone call yet, they indicated that they had taken pictures of the other guy's car and they would call me after their vacation of 7 days is up. I've waited a month already. They're trying to get out of their end of the bargain, and being very rude and unprofessional about it. I can not believe they operate within the law. If so, the laws need changed drastically.

    So for all of you that even have a thought of ever using Safe Auto Insurance please look at their reviews. My daughter's vehicle was hit by one of their insured motorists on November 7, 2014. Not only did they hit her vehicle but 2 other cars and took out a gas pump which cost 40k to replace. Their insured only had minimum coverage of 10k. They've been BS in us for 7 months.

    So, after months and months of dancing around our calls and promises of payment soon... well I still am forwarded to voice mails. When I called again this AM (after no return calls on Monday and Tuesday) I asked for the CEO's name and they say they can't give me his information. I responded that it was public information to which the customer service rep asked her supervisor what to do (without putting me on hold btw). I told them that anyone could Google it and I was going to send him an email to which they hung up on me.

    I ran over semi tire-tread on the way to drill (I'm Army National Guard). I called that day and created an incident report. When I returned home, I took my car to Cron's Auto Body to get an estimate. The charges were at least double my deductible so I called back. The Adjuster ** called me on Friday, May 1, 2015 @ 16:16 CST and left a voicemail. The voicemail stated she would call me on Monday. Friday, May 1, 2015 @16:45 CST. I returned her phone call.

    Her voicemail says, "Thank you for calling Safe Auto Insurance Company. You have reached the voicemail box of **. My normal office hours are 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday. I am currently on the phone or away from my desk. Please leave your name, phone number (including area code), claim number, and the reason for your call. Calls received by 2 PM will be returned by the end of the current business day. Calls received after 2 PM will be returned by noon the following business day. My fax number is **. My email address is **. My supervisor is **. Her phone number is **. Thank you for calling safe auto. You have a good day."

    I left my information and said I would talk to her on Monday. Monday, May 4, 2015 @ 10:28 CST I called Safe Auto to increase insurance coverage and verify that my rental car was covered by my insurance. I was told that my adjuster (that is **) would have to grant permission for that. Monday, May 4, 2015 @ 15:52 CST Left voicemail for ** with my information and requested she call me.

    Tuesday, May 5, 2015 @ 17:02 CST Called Safe Auto Customer Service to request to speak with a manager. The customer service representative said that there were no managers on site. The main office is in Ohio which is EST. When I explained that I had not received a phone call back she said she would send an email marked urgent requesting someone call me the next morning. Wednesday, May 6, 2015 @ 08:49 CST ** called to let me know the auto repair shop called him. They had left at least two messages for the adjuster. She has not returned either call.

    Wednesday, May 6, 2015 @ 11:10 CST I called Safe Auto. I spoke with a customer service representative and inform them I wanted to cancel my policy. She asked me why I wanted to cancel. I told her about the horrible service I had received thus far, (actually the fact that I did not receive any customer service). She asked me to please hold, and got the department manager, ** on the line for me. ** stated that she apologized for my experience and that the fact that neither had called me yet would be addressed. She also said that she would call the body shop right away.

    Wednesday, May 6, 2015 @ 11:28 CST Cron's Body Shop called to let me know that he had finally spoke to a safe auto representative **. She said that she would send the paperwork right over to him. Wednesday, May 6, 2015 @ 12:55 CST Called Safe Auto to verify my policy was cancelled. It was not. The customer service representative informed me they would charge me $25 to cancel. Although I don't believe I should have had to pay it, I told her "It is money well spent!" It is now Thursday at 14:41 CST I STILL have not heard from anyone.

    I filed a claim with my insurance company Safe auto. My vehicle went into the shop on April 13, 2015. Today is May 5, 2015 and my vehicle is still in the shop. The shop is waiting on Safe auto to approve the repair to be completed on my vehicle. I have been constantly trying to contact my adjuster at safe auto to find out why this process is taking so long, phone calls, emails. No return call from safe auto. I have had a rental since the day I put my car in the shop. Safe auto was suppose to be paying $20/day on the rental car. They only paid for 3 days. I had to pay out of pocket so far $970.00.

    Safe auto claims they will review my claim to see if they can get an extension on the rental car coverage. They have not yet gotten back to me about the rental car coverage. They do not have any department that takes customer complaints, they don't care they just want your money every month. I have been paying my insurance premium every month on time and have not received the service I have been paying for. Can anyone help me? What actions can I take against safe auto? I am out $ 970.00 out of my pocket. What can I do?

    I am a victim in an accident. One of their customer hit my car in the parking lot. I am now still working for my claim with the Safe Auto Insurance company. But I can say it is my worst experience ever. I have been trying to reach the adjuster for 2 days and made more than 10 calls per day and left multiple voice mail. No one answer the phone call. No one call me back. Right now, the only way for me is to wait. I read the other's review and feel hopeless. The company like this can still exist is amazing.     March 27th, 2015 I was at a stop light behind a semi when a person came barreling down on me going 50-60 mph and rear-ended me. I saw him coming and braced myself. The impact threw me into the semi in front of me and the airbags deployed in the car behind me. I was knocked silly. I was rushed to the emergency room in an ambulance and by time I was in the ambulance the driver that hit me had fled the scene in his car!!! It is now April 7th and we have been informed the accident will not be covered because it was a hit and run and the police have not yet found the criminal that hit me.

    I have huge medical bills, lost work time, a rental car cost, and am still hurting from all this. I have Bodily Injury Liability, Property Damage Liability, Uninsured Motorist Bodily Injury, Underinsured Motorist Bodily Injury, and Uninsured Motorist Property Damage and they say since it's a hit and run they don't have anyone to go after for the claim so no coverage!!! I have an appointment with an attorney tomorrow so we'll see what can be done. My car is totalled!! Safe Auto should not be allowed to stay in business!!! This is insane!!!

    Purchased insurance in January 2015, paid the down payment, within a week received another bill, paid that one. Three weeks later received another one. My stepson was in a accident last month. I was told cause he was in another state at time of accident, they would not cover. Worst insurance company I have dealt with.

    My car was stolen September of 2014 and its still not settled. They told me they would be issuing me 2 checks, one for the body damage and one for the mechanical issues. Was informed by the shop that the motor was seized and the car is going to be considered totaled. When Safe Auto was informed they now say they gave me a check and they don't want to finish paying for the claim.

    I purchased insurance through this company several months ago. I removed one of my vehicles from my policy and my payment went up! I call and talked to a customer service rep. Real nice young man and he talked to his supervisor asking why the increase. First they said some paperwork I did not send in, but when I explained I sent it in back in with their envelope. Well guess what? He saw the paper work then. OK, so again I ask why did the premium increase? Well then no explanation just that it’s what the monthly payment is... I am canceling my premium and will never do business with them again and I would not recommend this company to anyone, and if you are searching the web for cheap insurance this is not the one. Please save your money and stay away from safe auto insurance!

    After reading all these reviews I regret not seeing them earlier. Before I get to my crazy experience I want to say to everyone that sees this to please get onto your states BBB (Better Business Bureau) website and write your complaint. It's easy and they will hopefully start to investigate. I have read a lot of your complaints and with everyone having the same problem with Safe Auto, it could maybe warrant multiple lawsuits. They haven't screwed me out of too much money so far but they could if I don't get out now. I am trying to get their attention: postings on my FB (I don't want ANY of my friends or family trusting them), Twitter, BBB in Ohio cause that's where my local Safe Auto Company is so please report to the BBB website so they can't do this to other people.

    So on Dec. 23rd 2014 I bought a policy ($235) with Safe Auto because I thought they would be cheaper and I bought a policy 6 or 7 yrs. ago, even had an accident 6 days later and had no problems. 13 days later I received a letter that was sent on Dec. 30 so they really wasted no time but it stated in BIG BOLD print that my bill was due ($188) already and not only was my bill due but my premium went up ($16.90) and that they were also charging me an installment fee of $8). I was real confused but thought it was a mistake and didn't really read it. I just told my husband that even if it wasn't a mistake that no way was I gonna pay another bill 13 days later, I said they will get it on the 23rd when it was due.

    But then the very next day I received another letter saying in big bold print Notice of Cancellation. I'm thinking this must be a joke. Did they really send me two letters threatening to cancel my policy with them weeks before my bill was actually due? It made me feel like I already did something wrong by giving them my money. I also went onto read in the 2nd letter that my bill was ACTUALLY due 12:00 A.M. So really I had to pay my bill a day before it's actually due. So I bought insurance on the 23rd but I had to pay my bill on the 22nd and before 12AM it said if not paid by that date or time it will be cancelled and the State of Kentucky will be notified that I don't have insurance.

    So I'm stunned thinking I have never in 12 yrs. of buying insurance policies from different companies have NEVER received 1 notice before let alone 2 before my first monthly payment. When I spoke to one customer representative she defended the company in saying that by law they have to send a Notice of Cancellation. That's all she could say and I just got frustrated and paid my bill + a $22 reinstatement fee. But if that's true that by law insurance company's are suppose to send you a threatening letter that they will cancel your policy without a breath. Then all other insurance company's are breaking laws left and right cause I've never had a company even threatened me until I went couple of months of non-payment.

    So because I bought my policy on the 23rd of the month, they said they sent the first letter because they would like me to pay my bill 3 weeks before it’s due but that it has to be paid the day before it’s actual due date and if it’s not paid by 12:00AM then at 12:01AM I am no longer covered in the case of an accident and the state is notified right away that I no longer can drive my vehicle legally. So if I didn't read these letters, which at first I didn't, and I got an accident, was speeding, or lent my friend my car thinking I'm covered. "I'm late I know but I'll just pay it and the late fee tomorrow...”

    I'm screwed if there's an accident and the insurance company just canceled me after yrs. of paying on time and being human. Or if something happens like a death in the family that devastates your mind and functional state, and you don't pay your Bill by or on 22nd which is the day before my actual monthly due date, then at 12:01A.M I am no longer covered and I have to pay a fee to reinstate my insurance and that's if Safe Auto will reinstate you according to some reviews I've read.

    By the way I'm still confused and hadn't complained about the letters cause I thought they were a mistake or a joke but I knew I was late paying my bill by their standards so the next day after paying my bill + reinstatement fee I looked online and I already have another bill due! And it’s a different amount than what our first bill said. It was less but that got me even more confused, I mean at least agree on how much $ you want to screw out of me. So I call and once again they had no answers but I was locked and loaded after reading the letters they sent me 13 & 14 days into being a new customer. I couldn't believe that they would make a new or a "valued customer" as they put it, feel Like you did something wrong.

    Sending an early bill makes you feel like you’re already late or fear that at any time or day they can cancel your policy leaving you with no coverage. I gave the scenario about having something out of the blue happen and for years you pay your bill on time and 1 time your late and they cancel you. They obviously don't appreciate their customers and from what I've read they aren't in your corner when you need them most. We chose them because years ago they were a different and better insurance company. I had an accident 6 days after buying the car and insurance and they paid to get it fixed without a problem. A lot of years later I decide to give them my money and trust them and this is what I get.

    Now I'm going back to Progressive. They seem to care about you and have never threatened me or made me feel stressed and confused. My point is that no one is perfect, charge a late fee but no law says you have to cancel someone's insurance for paying their bill on the actual monthly due day or even being late. By the time I cancel my policy with them I had been a customer of Safe Auto for only 2 months but it only took me a couple of weeks to realize they were different and changed. They seem greedy and see you as dollar signs instead of caring about being at and on your side at maybe the worst time of your life, and should thank you for picking them instead of threatening you before your first bill. I'm trying to put them on blast because they need and should have to change the way their doing business.

    How are they still in business? No one's perfect which is more reason an insurance company should understand. I will try my best to convince anyone who's looking for good insurance as coverage and customer service to not trust Safe Auto because they simply do not care about their customers. Once again please direct your complaints to BBB!!! I hope this will help someone who is suspecting of Safe Auto or is thinking about buying auto insurance and trusting them to not take advantage of you.

    Some lady made a U turn in front of me. It was her fault. She admitted responsibility for the accident. She was insured with "Safe Auto" Insurance. Safe Auto approved payment to repair the vehicle. After I sent my car in for the repairs and the repairs were completed, "Safe Auto" "reversed" their decision and denied the claim. So I'm out $ 2000.00. DO NOT BUY INSURANCE FROM SAFE AUTO. You will be very sorry once you have to file a claim. These people are underhanded and very slippery. Buyer beware.

    In Sept 2011, I was involved in accident with a Safe Auto policyholder. Over $8000 in damages to my car. Their policyholder was given a ticket, went to court, pleaded guilty and paid the fine. Safe Auto said they were not responsible and refused to pay claim. Friend of mine who is an attorney contacted them to say he was representing me and that I would be suing in small claims court. Their attorneys sent him a letter saying they were representing Safe Auto and to contact them IF I could find their client to serve her.

    It took nearly 2 years to find her and have her served, another year to get a court date. Went to court in Nov 2014 and received a judgement of $8300. When leaving court, their attorney told me I would be receiving notice of appeal within 10 days, which I did. Now I have to wait 6 months for a new court date in State Court. Worst experience I have ever had with an insurance company. Their tactic is to try and wait you out, hoping you will either give up or get tired of fighting them and forget it. Insurance Commissioner will not do anything. Who do you think finances their campaign? RUN, DON'T WALK FROM THESE **.

    Hit a deer 5 weeks ago. I filed the claim before I made it home. It took 5 days for someone to call me back, 13 days for someone to look at my vehicle and determine it was totaled. A week later I finally got a call back and they want to give me about 1500 less than its worth. Now after 5 weeks of dealing with this, nobody will take my calls or call me back including the supervisor. Still have no money from them to buy a different vehicle. 10 days ago they signed the confirmation card that they received my paperwork back. Got a call that they will be picking up my vehicle though. I do NOT recommend this company to anyone! Cheap insurance=cheap service and nobody knows anything!!!!!

    After the problems I had with my claim with safe auto (6 weeks now and still no money) I switched insurance companies. I had 2 policies with safe auto. When I talked to customer service on the 4th they were going to reimburse me $117 for my totaled vehicle that I had payed another month on and cancel out my policy on the 12th. Today (the 9th) I got a bill for the 1st canceled policy. When I called they told me they bill people $10 for mailing out a bill and it being canceled. Then told me they applied the $117 toward my other policy. I told them no. Mail me the $117 and cancel my policy on the 12th. She told me no, I wouldn't get that money and I would owe them another $79 for canceling my policy. Safe auto is the most crooked insurance company! This is totally absurd! By the way they mailed check for my totaled vehicle and guess what? Still don't have it but managed to get all the other mail from them. People STAY AWAY from safe auto!

    August 2013 I had an accident. I had full coverage. I had expired card and new card same policy # in the truck. Accidentally gave officer expired card. Got a ticket for no insurance and at fault. Went to court showed proof of insurance. Ticket removed. Safe Auto took til July 2014 to settle claim. I was sued in June. Now my license is suspended and I have to have a SR22 to reinstate license and pay several thousands of dollars. I have called Safe Auto to see if I can get copies of the check and or paperwork. Claims adjuster will not return my call.

    My car was stolen on 4/10/2014 and I called as soon as I filed the police report that morning and reported to Safe Auto's Claims Department thus opening up a claim. I had full coverage insurance with Safe Auto with my premiums being paid and current at the time of theft. I turned in everything I was asked to in a timely manner and here it is DECEMBER 11, 8 FULL MONTHS LATER, and they STILL have not made an offer to me for this claim. All police reports show that the vehicle was stolen from my residence around midnight or so and found a few hours later on fire in a neighboring county (we live in a rural area of Oklahoma). The adjuster has been giving me the run around and WHEN I'm able to FINALLY get her on the phone (which seems to take an act of Congress!), she is condescending, rude, and asks me questions that the police officer I spoke with said she should be asking an investigator as I am neither an investigator nor a criminal psychologist (she keeps asking me "why would someone do" this and that "why would there not be many personal belongings in the vehicle"). Mind you it was found COMPLETELY BURNED.

    I don't live out of my vehicles and keep them pretty clean all the time plus I'm sure any criminal would probably steal any personal belongings worth anything before they ditched the car. Oh and the police found me due to ONLY a partial piece of mail found near the vehicle (so OBVIOUSLY there were some personal belongings in my car!), that was the only thing that wasn't completely incinerated to use for identification purposes! This is what the Sheriff's deputy who worked the incident told me! I do not have the money for a lawyer and I'm struggling to feed my growing family because I have been unable to use my vehicle or get it replaced since APRIL! Now it's Christmas time and my children will be doing without ANY GIFTS OR TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS DINNER due to this 8 months (and counting!) ordeal.

    Safe Auto should be held accountable for their actions and shady business tactics. I wonder how many other people living below the poverty line who cannot afford to fight a big company have been financially ruined due to lost wages because of Safe Auto's greediness? Very sad and upsetting to say the least. Safe Auto sure didn't hesitate to take my premium payments every 6 months and I'm willing to bet that if I had screwed them around for 8 months, I probably wouldn't have had coverage anymore. But as long as they keep filling their pockets with us poor folks' money then I guess that's all that matters! What a joke of a company!

    My husband and I took out a policy with safe auto on Sunday night while at home. After hanging up and making our payment, we left to go to the store and head to a friend's house with our two small children. (Our previous company raised our rates for a no-fault claim we filed after being told it wouldn't affect us, so we switched to them). Not five minutes after leaving our house (we live in the country) we hit a BIG deer and our 2004 suburban is now inoperable. Called to make the claim since we have full coverage, and apologized for this. The customer service rep (kept mumbling her name) stated that it has happened before and not to worry. So we didn't, until my husband got a call from a specialist claiming that she believes we have committed insurance fraud and that we will go to jail.

    I now have an investigator from out of state calling us and telling us he believes that we hit the deer, panicked and then got insurance and for us to come clean because even good people make stupid mistakes and we can end this sooner. He (Randy) told me that he has already investigated my husband and I both and knows that I work for a school system and my husband for a truck leasing company as a mechanic. I had to tell him that I have been contacting attorneys before he would back off his personal beliefs towards us. I have yet to see an appraiser and they were suppose to be here Tuesday. They are refusing my rental car, or to even replace my kids' car seats. I am meeting with an attorney tomorrow regarding this and hoping to end all these false accusations soon.

    This is by far the worst auto insurance company I've ever come across and the adjusters and supervisors are just as dumb as they come!!! It's like no one in today's time realizes without your clients, you have nothing! I honestly don't see how they have any clients. The adjuster assigned to my case (nick) wasn't helpful at all. Didn't answer any of my questions. I left several messages for a supervisor (Beth **) over all of the adjusters complaining, but never once received a call back. I spoke with a regular supervisor (Carlos) and made a complaint with him and expressed how I no longer wanted that person handling my claim, but nothing was done and then I called back in to check the status of my claim because no one had contacted me. That same supervisor was of no help and suggested that I speak to the very same person that I complained to him about and when I asked for a number to someone who might be able to clarify somethings for me since they were no help I was told that they aren't allowed to give me that information, even though its pertaining to my claim and I'M not just some stranger calling in! I'M constantly being told one thing and then another. It's like everyone who works for this company is just full of it.

    I have been calling Liz the claims adjuster since Monday to get the ball rolling on which seems to be a straightforward claim. My car was hit by one of your members while parked in front of my house. No one was in the car luckily and your member was very apologetic. I said not to worry and we will just have the insurance company deal with it. I have called the main line and selected the prompt customer service specialist and got Kayla on the line. First of all, she does not specialize in customer service. I asked Kayla when I would receive a call back from Liz on Wednesday. She stated Liz has up to 24 hours to return calls. I called on Monday and it is now Wednesday, that is more than 24 hours. I asked for Liz supervisor's name and phone number. Kayla became annoyed when I asked for the spelling of the supervisor's name. I left a message for the supervisor Beth ** with no response.

    Safe Auto prides itself on being fast and efficient and I have determined they use a third party adjuster for their claims DMA. DMA prides themselves to deliver high-quality claims services on time. Both companies are non-responsive. 12 days later and still no call. According to the California Dept. of Insurance, they should respond within 15 days.

    These guys took over 2 months to take responsibility for their client ramming me from behind at 30 miles an hour while I waited at a stoplight. Even though, their client signed a statement admitting guilt, claims adjuster Tanisha **, refuse to accept responsibility for 2 months. Which meant that I could not get my car fixed for 2 months, could not get my doctor's bills approved or paid and I could not get a rental car. Tanisha was rude, incompetent, refuse to return phone calls, and then when it finally came time to settle the claim, if you tried to lowball me because I didn't have an attorney. These people are not to be trusted. Beware, if you ever come into contact with Tanisha **, you are about to get ripped off! This is the most unprofessional, morally bankrupt insurance company I've ever dealt with.

    We have been a PAYING customer of Safe Auto for at least 13-14 years with ZERO claims. Because my daughter went to college full time out of state, they stated that she would have to register her car in our state in order to stay on the insurance. Then they decided that we could keep her on our insurance, but if there was an accident they would deny her claim. Then they cancelled our policy, with the stated reason being that WE "refused to remove her from our policy." This is insulting, frustrating, angering, AND now we have to deal with the banks calling us to threaten repo-ing our vehicles for lack of coverage. In addition, their rates are not much lower (if at all) than anywhere else. I STRONGLY recommend NEVER using this insurance company. I am afraid of what would happen if you DID actually have to make a claim.

    I set up a policy online in March. I had State Farm and USAA auto insurance previously. A couple months ago I had gotten a ticket. Had to take proof of insurance to bmv. When I showed my policy, they checked with safe auto. They said they never heard of me and my policy was not valid and the number belonged to someone else. Now I have to go to court on this. Have no idea how this can happen. And I now realize I don't even have a receipt of purchase.

    Had an accident, totaled my Infiniti. Got cheap, used car. My insurer on all my cars had been Geico, but decided to try Safe Auto as though they would be cheaper for simple liability insurance on cheap used car. I should have checked. Quote from SA was $107 first month, $77/month thereafter. I stupidly agreed! I had to get in touch with Geico to cancel policy. In doing this I asked them what their quote would be, for same policy I had purchased from SA. They gave me a quote of $200 for 6 months, 1/3 of SA was charging! Immediately called SA to cancel their policy. Was told I would have to pay them $77 anyway as I could only cancel within 3 hrs of having bought policy.

    I said, "Ok, just get me out of it!" Realized I had been Ripped Off!!! DON'T GET ANYWHERE NEAR THESE GUYS!!! Next day, Geico rep. came to my place with check for $29,200, reimbursement on my totaled 2010 FX 35 and brought along all items that had been left in car. Had missed pair of sunglasses left in overhead holder. Came back next day! There guys are the Real Deal! Safe Auto definitely is Not!!!

    Original claim started in April. Since that time I have had 3 different adjusters along with leaving multiple messages for supervisors who do not return calls. This is so crazy as they can send you a bill or reminders all the time. But no one returns calls in the claim department. And judging by the reviews I have read this is happening way too often.     I'm not insured with Safe Auto (thankfully); however, I do work in a provider's office and we have had numerous patients that have been in motor vehicle wrecks and, of all the insurance companies, Safe Auto is the worst to work with. They constantly employ delay tactics to withhold payment for treatments to their insured and because of that we have had to certify all claims to them to ensure receipt. And they still continue to deny receipt of claims. I strongly urge anyone looking for coverage not to buy a policy from them because if you get in an accident, you will have a difficult time getting help and more and more providers are getting tired of their antics. Beware!

    Zero *s. Awful customer service. I was overcharged on my Bill for not filling out paperwork I never received. One person told me it was marked as received; then three people later it's been returned. NOBODY had employee numbers or anything so I'd ask for a manager and get hung up on. Get your story straight! I told her I didn't care, just wanted to pay my bill minus the bogus charge and I'd fill out whatever they wanted. She didn't even know why they sent me to her and She couldn't help either. I had asked for a manager. I cancelled on the spot. Don't transfer me four times and hang up. I paid for a month and got ten days into this before I realized they were a joke. The dummy didn't even tell me I was being charged to cancel And refused to give me a confirmation number for my last payment of $1.00. Awful, never go with them. I cannot imagine trying to claim an accident with them.

    I gave Safe Auto a down payment of $80 for liability insurance coverage. I made it known I wanted full coverage but they said my car was too old (97 Saab convertible). I found full coverage with 21st Century for the same price. I immediately canceled with Safe Auto (30 minutes after I gave them down payment). After numerous calls, I received a check 3 weeks later for $16.60. They refuse to give me money back, they stole my money.

    February 21st, 2013 I was involved in an accident where I had been pursued by two young boys who repeatedly rear ended my Suburban causing me to lose control of my vehicle... this was at about 2 am or so. My body was ejected from my truck 150 ft and the kids that caused the accident left because they thought they killed me. My body was found 5-7 hours later. I was in a medically induced coma with life threatening injuries, first thing I can remember hearing is my Mom screaming I was awake...next she says, "they're saying you don't have insurance!" I panicked. Why? Because I had SafeAuto Insurance! 2/11 and 2/12/13 I had spent at the MVD with SafeAuto on the phone getting a no lapse coverage letter for one vehicle I wanted to remove from my policy and adding another.

    They faxed the requested letters but never made the change from my GrandPrix to suburban! So my ex had taken the GrandPrix and insured it somewhere else and the whole time I'm driving around in a big truck with my three kids with NO INSURANCE! OMG... Insurance claim flat out DENIED! I pretty much begged and pleaded for someone to go through the calls or speak to the gentleman who typed the letter, they would not. My letters as far as I knew were smashed in the wreck. I spoke once to the man "Joe" who typed my letters, he said he remembered me and remembered the letters, SafeAuto made sure I never spoke to him again.

    ***A year later after my accident I'm walking again and able to get around and guess what I find my proof of coverage! The letter I told SafeAuto I had all along. I had it faxed over at a Kinkos, got confirmation it went through, it took about a week or so to get to the right person "Allison". She's had it for over a week now, I was promised calls but she called a number I haven't had for at least a year. Plenty of voice mails and emails all with the correct info and she can't call the right number!?! Scary... I put my trust in SafeAuto and while I was in the hospital getting tubes pulled out of my sides they were rude, called me a liar and flat out refused to help me stating I wasn't covered and they would need me to fax the info ASAP. I spent three months in a bed and another two in a wheelchair now a year later I'm still fighting the same battle with them. I was covered for my accident underinsured and uninsured motorist coverage!

    The insured hit my car on November 5th, 2013 while it was parked legally in a parking space. I have video of the accident, and witnesses who saw it happen, along with pictures of the damage. The girl who hit her car tried to leave the scene but was too upset to get her truck turned around. Safe Auto has given us four adjusters now. At first they denied any damage was done by their client, but when the video was mailed to them (by my daughter), they changed their tune AND the adjuster. Then they decided that only the bumper was damaged (from looking at the pictures WE sent them) until they got the body shop estimate of $3600.00 or so, then decided it was totaled, and we got another adjuster who started over with the phone games.

    Safe Auto was the ones who determined it was totaled. Until today (1/8/2014) I had not spoken to anyone from Safe Auto. They would only leave messages on my house phone while we were at work, even though I e-mailed the adjuster and told her to call me on my cell and gave her the number. They will not answer the phone when I called back, and now the number and extension I have been given does not work. The automated phone service returns a message of "the extension is not valid". I found out today that the woman I was supposed to be dealing with had either quit or was fired, but "was no longer with the company".

    I do not know how this company can continue to run a business with this poor of a customer service. I have called their customer service, and was disconnected three times. I waited for a real person and none ever came on the line. My daughter (who has used the car for the past 5 years while going to Univ. of Cincinnati Chem. Engineering school) has had to purchase an old clunker to get back and forth to school and work since Safe Auto has not seen fit to deal with this claim. I have left messages requesting them to call and leave me a message detailing what time I should call them so they would pick up the phone, all to no avail.

    UPDATE: 1/8/2014 I received a call from Safe Auto adjuster today (our fourth adjuster) who has given me a low ball figure for the car. They determined there were scratches on the dash, the drivers side seat had the "upholstery flattened", there were 15k more miles than would normally be on a car of this vintage (2002), etc. etc.

    There was no mention of taxes, title and licensing fees (a requirement they pay). The guy was nice, but I get the feeling he just got dumped on him half the claims the last adjuster had, and wasn't really interested in me, just getting me to sign something. This is a terrible company.

    Me and my husband had a wreck in a bad storm a couple of weeks ago. We just hydroplaned. It took over a week to come look at the car and was supposed to talk to me but never saw nobody. Then my husband calls, they finally get the car in the shop. And I am still waiting. They told me they weren't fixing my car and took my rental car. And I have full coverage too. And I have never talk to the same adjustor twice.

They cancelled my policy and tried to tell me they never received the money order, yet miraculously, the money order was cashed BY THEM. Every person I spoke with was rude and unaccommodating and as soon as I told them I would take my business elsewhere, they told me that they would do whatever they could to retain my business. When I told them all they had to do was reinstate my policy, they clammed up. Worst customer service I have ever seen in my life!!

    My car was run into by another vehicle causing an extreme amount of Damage. I owned the 26 year old Mercedes so I only carried Liability which was the minimum. The 1987 Mercedes 560SEL is very expensive to fix (1 hood hinge - $330) and I had a very good feeling that they would total the car. They approved my claim, took possession of my car and have given me the most horrid unprofessional customer service that I have ever dealt with.

    I called the Claims Department Adjuster an average of 12-14 times a day leaving only 2 messages, sent an average of 5 emails for 9 days straight only to get completely disrespected when 3 letters from the same person saying that they have not been able to get in touch with me?? Finally, the same day my 12 month policy renewed and they were paid, I got 4 phone calls concerning my car. That was 2 weeks ago and I’m steadily paying $160 a week for a rental waiting on my settlement to get here. They're supposedly sending paperwork that has to be notarized signed and sent back but who in the hell just sends stuff like this regular mail and expects it to returned regular mail so they can then cut a check?? My wife and I are now $800 (including deposit) down that we were planning on using towards the new car! Pathetic in my book, and I run restaurants for a living!

    PS - They took my car 3 weeks ago. I signed NOTHING NOR GAVE THEM PERMISSION TO TAKE MY VEHICLE SO I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE MY CAR IS OR WHAT SHAPE ITS IN! Crooks and scoundrels! It’s a cliche how insurance companies delay claims to see if you don’t make your premium payment they can drop you so they save a buck! Shame on you Safe Auto. Now give me what is owed, by law, to me!!

    My vehicle was stolen and I placed a claim. The adjuster advised me I had to wait 30 day to allow time for my vehicle to be recovered. After 30 long days without my vehicle, it took almost 2 weeks for adjuster to finalize my claim with a payout of my vehicle. They mailed POA documents and my clean title. Also, when my claim was first placed and I mailed them back the theft affidavit, they received it in 2 days. Called adjuster around the same time-frame to ensure they received and confirmation of my check being processed. The adjuster said it's not in their system and to allow 7 to 10 days for processing and time in the mail!

    Allowed the time-frame, and he then told me that he would re-email the POA documents for me to send it back again! Meanwhile, the original paperwork didn't come back to me. The next day, the adjuster called me to state some further details have surfaced and the claim have to be investigated by a different department! What! This company is fraudulent and don't honor their policy. I'm seeking a lawyer currently.

    Our first problem with SafeAuto was when we were involved in an accident that was not our fault. When we called to report the accident, we were told to call the other driver's insurance company as there was nothing they would do. Since then, it's been a never-ending string of screw-ups on their part. We have NEVER missed a payment and never had to file a claim. We live in Oklahoma and were told that a payment for June would not be due until July since we had experienced a natural disaster. The person that told us this initially was misinformed and when we called, they transferred us to a supervisor by the name of CANDACE who proceeded to tell us that since we were not directly in the affected area, that what we were told was wrong but that they would schedule the double payment for mid-July when our premium is always due.

    After over an hour on the phone, rather than apologize to us or make any attempt to fix what was their fault, she proceeded to call my husband a liar and was overall EXTREMELY RUDE AND UNWILLING TO HELP AT ALL despite this not being our fault in any way. After this, we were AGAIN told that they would set us up for the double payment in mid-July when our payment is always due and that there would be no cancellation or lapse in coverage. I called again on 6/29/13 to verify this as we did not want our policy affected in a negative way and was AGAIN told that they would "absolutely honor" what we were told and that person verified this with their supervisor as well. I was promised a return phone call but did not receive one until today when we got a recorded "courtesy call" to inform us that as of 6/30/13, our policy had been cancelled due to non-payment.

    So, I called them yet again to get this cleared up; I was again offered no help and was ultimately hung up on. At this point, we have spoken to FIVE different people, two of whom were "supervisors" and not ONE of them knew anything about the situation as they very obviously have a communication issue within the company. This is not surprising since each call center is in a DIFFERENT STATE! Needless to say, we are beyond furious and will be seeking another insurance company immediately. I cannot stress enough the LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM AND DECENCY we've received from each individual we've dealt with throughout the company despite being longtime customers.

    After seven years of paying for insurance and never filing a claim or having an accident, I was refused insurance. I let the policy lapse, misread the due date; one other time during seven years I had let the policy lapse accidentally. I was having trouble hearing the guy and asked him to speak louder. He said he would call me back but didn't. When I called back, they said they did not want to write a policy for me. When I asked to speak to the Underwriting Department management, they told me no one was available to speak to me. No customer appreciation at all!

    All I have to say is Safe Auto is highly unprofessional. They do not take responsibility for their own errors and asking to speak to a Supervisor gets you absolutely nowhere. Simply said... find another insurance company that knows what is going on. So glad I did and am saving money now every month along with my sanity.

    I got Safe Auto because they were $10 cheaper than Geico. Well, it cost me $12 to cancel the policy so it was not even remotely worth it. The customer service is horrible. I called twice and I could hear people talking in the background but no one would answer. The 3rd time, someone answered and she was mean, rude and a complete idiot who couldn't answer a single question I had and just kept referring me to a letter I would receive in a week. I couldn't pay their $12 cancellation fee with my card right then and there. I have to wait to pay this joke of a fee. The whole company is a joke. It really is. My premium went up $20 in 6 months. I have no accidents, tickets and I've been licensed for 10 years and I'm over 25 years old. When I asked why the ignorant girl said "Oh little changes to my policy," I've never changed anything to it. So that was **. It's not worth the mediocre amount they "save" you. Avoid this company like the plague.

    I purchased a new car on Apr. 16, 2013. I purchased insurance online on the same date through Safe Auto. I paid my first installment that day of $222. Today, I logged into the account online to see why I haven't gotten a bill or anything, as it's been just over a month only to see my policy is canceled. So, I called Safe Auto who informed me that yes, policy was canceled effective May 16 due to non-payment. So I asked why didn't I get a courtesy email, text, phone call or anything saying that my payment was late, and I am about to be canceled? She rudely told me that I was notified by letter, email and phone call. Well, I work for an internet/cell phone provider. I have every email sent and received, as well as a log of all incoming/outgoing calls.

    As I am on the phone with her, I told her that there must be a mix-up, as I have no record of any such phone call or email. And while I am sure they hear this all the time, I honestly did not receive notification. So the super rude representative told me, "Well, I don't know what to tell you. We did call and email you, before and after the cancellation, and we will not reinstate you." Well, guess what? I wasn't calling to get reinstated. I already have switched to Geico. I was only calling to find out what happened. I cannot believe what poor customer service I received and would not recommend Safe Auto to anyone! I guess it's true. You get what you pay for, and I paid for nothing! If I could rate Safe Auto with zero stars, I would. Shame on you!

    They told me a price and the following day increased it by $291! Do not trust any quotes they provide because they are not true. It will change the very next day after you've already committed. I could have easily gone with someone else and they were unwilling to refund my money. I was never told of any application fee and it was a terrible customer experience. It's not fair to people that are trying to shop around to get the best price possible. Scam auto insurance company if you ask me and I recommend you do business elsewhere, because it's not worth the hassle they will put you through.

    Safe Auto Bait-and-Switch Tactic (What they don't tell you) - (Some) agents are careful not to acknowledge anything on initial phone interview that may jeopardize getting you to commit. Don't be surprised if they tell you at least $100 less per month premium over phone and you receive the actual cost on a premium statement within two days. You have the option to cancel, but it will cost you $40 in initiation fee and $25 in cancellation fee. These charges are not revealed until you receive your premium via US mail. These blogs are good and helpful to warn consumers, but please file with the BBB as well. Claims issues are only a part of it. Be sure to check other review/complaint sites regarding Safe Auto Insurance to be thoroughly informed.

    I am the victim of an accident of a Safe Auto policy holder who cancelled their policy holder and would not pay the claim for the accident, citing lack of cooperation from policy holder. What is the use of an insurance policy if you want back up your policy holder when they create havoc on good citizens? After twelve phone calls, the claim representative Justin ** would not return my phone call. They denied a $400 claim that that was a simple repair. Now I have to go to small claim court to get my car repaired because Safe Auto is a scam in my opinion. My experience has not been good at all. What are they doing with the money that the policy holders are paying? Certainly they are not paying victim of their policy holders. At least not in my case. Their policy holder hit my car when it was parked. The police was the witness at the Department of Motor Vehicle. Shut and closed case. What more can I say?

    We had an accident few weeks ago. I reported it to Safe Auto. The following day I got a call from Diana, the person who handles property damage. I understand that my car has liability only. I called her on how to handle the towing expenses, since it was the first time I had an accident. I left a message, called her again, left a message again.

    For two weeks, she didn't return my calls and finally had a response from another person. Bills had accumulated and all he could say was, "I'm sorry that she didn't return your call". I paid for the two weeks my car had been in the yard. I strongly recommend not to buy insurance from Safe Auto because they don't have a quick response when it comes to claims.

    January 11, 2011 around 1930 hours, I was on highway 55N. As I was about to pass a Semi-truck, it had a blow out. I couldn't avoid running over this tire. So after I ran it over, I heard so much wind and was smelling fumes thru my vents. That's when I pulled over on the shoulder to inspect what was wrong with the car. Since I couldn't catch up with the semi-truck, I dialed 911 and was instructed where to meet the Police. After inspection, over 30% of my bumper was knocked off, damaged tank and pump for windshield fluid, cracked windshield, cracked plastic over wheel cover and a lot of vibration in my steering wheel (I hit the tire doing at least 70mph).

    January 13, 2011 I had knee survey. January 14, 2011 insurance adjuster came to look at the car. I told him what happened and everything seem cool. After he asked to pull the car back & forth, I said "No, dude I'm on crutches and can't bend my knee"! That's when his attitude kicked in and told me "he was about to finish up". So, I returned to my apt.

    About a week later my check was mailed to me for the car of $591 and my 500 deductible was taken out. 2days later, I took the car to the body shop. The shop explained to me that the windshield and alignment wasn't on the list from the adjuster.

    Basically, I called SafeAuto at least 2 or 3 times a week. I didn't get a return phone call until the 15th day that my car has been sitting in the shop by Mr **. He told me that the adjuster didn't put my windshield or wheel alignment on because the tire "blow out" and would have cause it. My question was, "how come nobody couldn't let me know if they covered it or not and How come I couldn't get a rental?, why are my service not serviced to something I'm paying for?" Mr. ** apologized and said that I'll be hearing from them within 2-3 days. Well, it's been another 2 weeks now and still no phone call. No nothing in almost a month.

    I open a claim for a vandalized car . Safe Auto refused to pay for all the items stolen. I followed all instructions given by the insurance and law enforcement, but now they put the blame on me for moving the car from the original place to where the car was jacked. The cost in part is $2500.
