PolicyGenius provides attractive rates, but appears uncomfortably close to a "bait and switch" tactic. This stems from the design of their online health questionnaire. This questionnaire does not capture much significant health issue information, which yielded an overly optimistic quote in my case. As a licensed insurance agent/financial advisor with a term policy only 3 years old, I ran a quote on myself and was pleasantly surprised at a quote for a longer term policy at $140 per month less than I'm paying now. In the phone interview, I disclosed the same information I put on the electronic quote request form. The "real" quote came back over $300 per month higher than the online quoting tool.

My husband was without life ins policy for over 2 years and we have a child! Our lives are so busy and hectic I tried a few times to work on getting a policy in place for him with an agency but to no avail. I filled out online application & was given a quote. A representative called back the next day as they said they would but after verifying information that I had put on application the quote he gave me was higher so I have no idea why they give you a quote online but don't stand behind it when they talk with you on the phone???

Everything went so incredibly smoothly that I even used PG to change my home and auto policies.

It's been nearly three weeks and they still haven't provided me with a quote. I know it's the holidays...but THREE WEEKS AND NO QUOTE???? I've contacted 5 different companies directly and all replied within 24 hours. So what on earth takes three weeks?!!! Absolutely ridiculous.
