Can't pay online and can't pay at locations until I am charged a late fee and then they will accept my money.. Will be looking for another company. And don't use LA Insurance. They are no help at all there either. Will be looking for a cheaper online Insurance company.

Mendota has always been a great company. As an agent who writes for Advantage Mendota, they have always provided great customer service and are fair and pay their claims in a timely manner. Too bad you can't do zero stars. This place is RIDICULOUS. One of their customers hit our truck while he was drunk and driving. Thankfully wasn't too bad of a hit. But, Mendota would have us on hold for 15-20 minutes and then get sent to a voicemail box that no one ever answers. We had to file a claim through our insurance and just hoping they are able to get farther than us

If I could give 0 stars I would. This is the worst insurance company I have ever had. I was needing my windshield replaced and tried to file a claim. The website kept saying the online claims were unavailable. I tried calling the claims department for over a week and always go to voicemail. I eventually paid out of pocket. I am definitely canceling this terrible Insurance. They are quick to your payment but. Horrible customer service!!!!

If I could give them zero stars I would. I got into an accident with a customer who is a Mendota insurance client. It was completely that person's fault, and I have sent the police report 2x, called every day, the adjuster Sheila ** either always kept me on hold, was always on the other line, was rude, lazy, didn't even bother to call back, never gave me any information, and didn't even want to help me even though the client was at fault. Horrible customer service, horrible claims, didn't even seem to want to help me even though their client was the one who caused the accident. I had to get an attorney and once that happened Sheila ** didn't do anything.

Mendakota insurance company is your typical highway robbery and filthy manipulative organization. They will try and rob you and charge you at every corner you can imagine. Even AN AUTOMATIC PAYMENT, they will find the jury in them to steal ANOTHER $5. Such filth and greedy bastards. Every policy and rule by this company is manufactured to rob you and manipulate your money. Beware. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. They are also like any other typical filthy American insurance company where they talk nice to you until you sign up, but after that....you're the standard value of trash.

After six months wih the company, they did not offer to drop my policy $ by a single cent. Today I got a text about my payment and when I called they said it bounced?? I had a few dollars more than I needed in my account so I was confused. Apparently this is because they charged me $5 to pay with my debit card. They say the only way to avoid this is if I came in in person to the company each month and pay with cash (who does that??)
Ok...so you want to sneak a little $5 fee in there....this needs to be made clear...and when I was (re-sold) my policy over the phone this was not mentioned (first 6 months were paid up front). So no I'm being charged a $20 chargeback fee and a $10 late fee...and...of course....an additional $5 fee for using my debit card. What a shady ** company. the company refused to reverse and fees and implied I was stupid for not knowing about them. I will be lookind for anyone else as soon as possible ** this shady ** company

Poor service. I can’t get anyone to answer about my claim since my accident. No one calls you back. It sucks. If I’m giving you my money I deserve to be answered. I won’t be with this company much longer.

Mendota is one of the worst insurance companies I have ever dealt with. My adjuster Brooke ** never return my calls or emails. It’s the worst experience I’ve ever had with an insurance company. My vehicle has been sitting in the repair shop since Thanksgiving, and I nor the repair shop can get a hold of the insurance company or the adjuster. Pay a little extra money and go to the good insurance company. Mendota it’s not a good insurance company. The repair shop said they have too many issues with them and do not like doing business with them either.

This is NOT a reputable insurance company. Customer service is sub-par and they are NOT honest about the cost of the policy, and they charge fees not described by the broker. PLEASE stay away from them!!

I paid for insurance as I was trying to cancel my policy and it’s been over a year they still haven’t given me my refund. They still have yet to refund me or try to reach out. Their excuse was the check got sent to the wrong address. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.

Customer Service sucks! Management sucks! Claims Department sucks! My insurance adjuster Sandy ** never even called me 1 time when my car was stolen. I called shift leaders, managers, supervisors, no one at this company cares about you, your car, your policy, nothing!! Do yourself a favor and do not even call for a quote from here, they are not worth your time! God bless & Take Care.

This is literally the worst insurance company I have ever had to deal with. This company doesn’t return phone calls, doesn’t like to pay the value lowball. You very concerned and considerate, and does not care about their customers. My vehicle been wrecked for two months. I didn’t spoke to three different people. No one has resolved the issue, Ms ** basically said it’s not her problem but I’m your client.

I was hit by a truck insured by Mendota. They accepted responsibility for the damage. The amount of damage they assessed to what was actually damaged was way off. They wanted to settle for $3,400 when the Toyota Dealership assessed the damage to be $13,000. Mendota paid the claim in increments. Checks that they said were mailed were somehow lost. This has been going on for three months. The dealership fixed my car two months ago but won't release it till the final $2,000 is paid. Mysteriously the last check was also lost, then found after a stop payment was made. Mendota paid the first $3,000 rental car cost and are now on the hook for another $3,000 for which I am out of pocket till they reimburse me.
I have been without my repaired car for three months now waiting for them to pay their bill. The people at Mendota are polite. They are hideously incompetent. The dealership won't give me my car. I have had to hire an attorney to get my property returned due to their incompetence. If I could give a rating below one, I would give them a minus 10.

I was recently in an auto accident, luckily it was my fault and nobody was injured but my car is totaled. It’s been over a week now since the accident and I have heard from nobody at Mendota. I had Progressive insurance for 13 years and after getting divorced and going on my own this is the company that was recommended... I have never heard of a claims department closed on the weekends. The website just kept restarting and not letting me file a claim, after 5 days of persistently trying and trying to call and or email I finally got a hold of a human…
Still waiting for the adjuster to call me back and tell me what the hell to do!!! I need a vehicle immediately and can’t afford to rent one if I’m not getting any reimbursement but I can’t find that In my policy and can’t seem to get ahold of them again ... this is the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. Very disappointed. Had my payment been late my insurance would’ve been canceled. I wonder how they rectify this with their customers?

My Daughter was in the front of a 3 car accident on Oct 8th. She suffered whiplash & had a bruise on her head. The middle car seemed to try to avoid hitting her, but the back car came full speed into the middle car which pushed the middle car into the first car possibly TOTALLING BOTH front cars! The insurance doesn't return calls, but initially said that a rental car would be reimbursed. She was just told today (24 days later) that the insurance of the driver might not cover repairs of her car & that she should get a new car instead of renting. All out of her pocket?

On May 13, 2023, I was involved in an rear-ended accident with one of Mendota Insurance customer. Because the accident happened on private property the police didn't come out to investigate. I proceeded to ask the individual for his insurance information upon which he gave it to me via text. It happened on a Saturday, I contacted his insurance company on Monday to get the claim started upon which they did start the claim but all that came to an halted once he told them he wasn't involved in an accident.

We have a claim which the driver damaged our property on 2/22/23. Insured has insurance however after providing everything to the adjuster they will not pay nor call back. Gary **, adjuster and his supervisor Andrew ** apparently do not car that the company takes money from clients for auto protection then just do not pay if something happens. This company is a fraud and is just like SVB bank! Watch out and do not buy insurance from Mendota because you will get sued by the person which you cause damage and your money would be better spent paying for an attorney to help you after you damage someone's vehicle or property.

Kenyatta ** needs a lesson in customer service. My parents do not speak English well and I have been the middle man for this total loss claim. Her instructions are very unclear and does not help understand the process. She does not answer her phone, but seems to prefer texts. It does take about 48 hours for her to respond. She scolded me over the phone due to me not being patient, so I've tried my best to back off. Toyota sent over the title on 1/31 and Kenyatta is still telling me they haven't received it, so I just called to let her know that Toyota was sending it again but she ended up hanging up the phone mid sentence because I was "rude". She is the one that raised her voice at me, but I did nothing but listen.

I called in to make a payment because my account wasn’t charged. Asked to speak with a manager because clearly the employees need to be trained again. The employees give you one answer then management gives you a whole other answer. I spoke with HELEN, she is the rudest women on earth and should not be working for a company if she doesn’t know how to speak to customers correctly. I was explaining why I was calling and what one of her employees told me and she decided to not let me speak. She kept speaking over me not letting me talk.
On top of that she decided to hang up on me while I was speaking. Mendota that’s who you hire? I’ll take this as far as I can. If that involves me writing a review every day TRUST ME I WILL. Thank you to Tina for helping me out and being professional and taking my payment. Thank you for doing your job. Helen if you dislike your job so badly and or customers I advise you get a job elsewhere that doesn’t involve PEOPLE. RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, NO HELP.

Went to make our car insurance payment this month. Our insurance went up 1000.00 with no knowledge. When I called to find out what the problem was. The rude woman said, "Well it's because your kids were added to your policy." Excuse me? Who gave you that right? She said, "There's nothing I can do to help you, you'll have to your agent." I said, "Well it's a holiday. How am I supposed to do that." I hate this company. Their customer service is horrible. I cannot wait until January when we can find a new company.

My policy that I have had for 3+ years was cancelled by their own doing with no prior knowledge to me. You can't use online payment as it never worked. I called my premium in as usual on 4/28/21. It was processed by live person and recorded my voice authorization by me to take $52.00 dollars within 3 days. I was given a authorization number and done. On 5/07/21 no money taken from bank so I call to find out cancellation. The woman I talked to put words in my mouth and tried overtalking me. I apologize and ask for manager. She put me on hold and dumped my call. That is the last time I've been ** on by that horrible company. DO NOT EVER USE MENDOTA INSURANCE. I have another claim and it's totaly different from same company.

I was notified Saturday February 27th around 5 pm via USPS that my insurance policy would be cancelled on March 1st at 1201 am. Obviously unable to reach anyone with the company(s) The Zebra / Mendota due to it being a weekend, my policy was cancelled. Now as of the 1st, I have contacted both companies and been informed that my financial institution declined the payment that was set up to automatically occur. However, my financial institution doesn't show a record of a declined transaction and I received no notification other than the extremely late postal letter.
The Zebra / Mendota are not performing due diligence in policyholder notification, The Zebra / Mendota are not offering electronic notifications. I was then told I would have to pay a $20.00 dollar reinstatement fee for a policy that should not have been cancelled, along with a $25.00 NSF fee for a declined debit card transaction that doesn't exist to my knowledge. I believe the company to be acting fraudulently and unethically.

I pay insurance automatically from my bank account. I noticed that I didn't have a charge from Mendota and called them and they told me my policy was canceled and my license was suspended. I had to pay $156 before doing my route this afternoon causing me to be 30 minutes late. I drive a school bus. I cannot afford to have a tarnished license. It is now tarnished because of them. My insurance rates at a couple of the places I contacted for insurance wanted to charge me much more for insurance because of it.
I did find someone at a reasonable rate. They say policy was canceled for non-payment and that they sent notice in the mail. I received nothing from them, I received no calls or texts, and received no email informing me of a problem. I would have paid if I knew. I have up to now had a lot of money between stimulus money and paychecks for working. I pay my insurance but now my reputation is for doing so was wiped out. My employer was not happy. I am not happy. I am contacting lawyers now to try and get compensated. Do not trust this company.

I received an additional bill after I cancelled w/ Mendota. It was not stated why on the invoice, so I called them. The lady that answered really had a hard time explaining why to satisfy my mind. She was borderline rude & shouldn't be customer servicing. Glad I cancelled my policy!

In January of 2017 our daughter was hit by one Mendota’s insureds. After three years of patiently waiting for any sort of response from Mendota regarding our claim and four months of negotiating on a settlement amount, we are now seven days with a false payment in hand and back to square one, faced with making a decision on exactly what we were trying to avoid in the first place, litigation. They wrote us a bad check after three years of our daughter suffering from her permanent injuries. To top it off, they’ve been nothing more than RUDE throughout the entire experience. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!

This company is very unprofessional and rude. They took over 400.00 out of my account in a 6 day period without authorization. When I called they basically said it legal because policy went up based on address and they would not refund any money. I would strongly recommend not going with this company.

Worst insurance company I have ever dealt with! I paid for three months in advance and I tried to take myself off auto pay a month before my next payment was due and they wouldn't let me unless I paid another payment a month in advanced. And wouldn't let me cancel my policy and once I signed a cancellation form they STILL took money off of my card!

I got this insurance through my insurance agent. They were the cheapest so I thought I just go with them. You truly get what you pay for. The rate was different every single month. Always going up by a few dollars. It is a hassle to pay online. They charge a $5 fee to make any online payments. Their website is poorly designed. I have called customer service twice and both times the person was extremely rude and unhelpful. This is the worst experience I have ever had with a car insurance company. As soon as the Policy ended I immediately switched to another insurance carrier. If you're looking for cheap insurance I would recommend spending a little more to avoid this company.

I had insurance with Mendota for 1 1/2 years. My monthly rate was different each month. Each time I called with a question, they could never find my policy and would refer me to my agent. I had Roadside Assistance added and had to have my car towed (wouldn't start). They informed me I had to pay the tow man and submit it for reimbursement. I called Mendota to find out where to send it. 3 days later I got a call from Mendota asking what the mechanic found, I said the starter was bad. I found out I had been given the wrong fax number but was assured the check would be sent. 30 days later...no check! I called and was told it was considered a "mechanical issue" and would not be reimbursed. MENDOTA GIVES INCORRECT AND/OR INCONSISTENT INFORMATION! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!!!
