Worst insurance company ever. They told me I only owed $127 for final bill and then went to try and charge me $959 to end my policy. They are crooks. Stay away. Do not go with Liberty Mutual. They are scammers and crooks. Save your money. Go with progressive or geico. Way better on price even State Farm. That’s what I did. I found cheaper elsewhere and great customer service. Liberty mutual lacks customer service and also they are scammers. They tell you one price then charge another and they don’t tell you about hidden fees that were never addressed to the consumer. This will not go unpunished. Believe it or not!

Do not use this insurance company. All seems well until you try to cancel. THERE IS NO WAY TO CANCEL ON THE APP. They intentionally make you call them to cancel, but don’t make that fact obvious (it is buried in 15 pages of policy rules). If you can get through after you locate their customer service number, which is hard to find, then expect to be on hold for 20 minutes. If you cancel by deleting the auto draft, which I did, then they will keep charging you, charge you late fees, then threaten to send you to collection if not paid. When you call customer service they will send you to a “Resolution Specialist”. His resolution was to repeat over and over again “you have to pay”. Absolute jerk who interrupted constantly and wouldn’t listen to, or couldn’t understand my dispute. It was like he was trying to push my buttons to infuriate me. Made me an enemy for life.

Had Liberty Mutual Renters insurance for several years now. This would be our second claim with them. The first one was when we had a fire. It was like pulling teeth to get them to pay out. But they did. Over the last week we have been having some bad storms and water came up from our sewer line in the basement. We were like we’re insured and started our claim. After fighting with the claims adjuster we were denied. Even with plumbing reports that stated the main reason was due to a sewer line that is collapsing in the middle of the line cause the sewer run off not to flow properly. Go with someone else and if you do get flood insurance just to cover all your bases.

Liberty Mutual has proven to be extremely frustrating to deal with. They make it nearly impossible to cancel your policy. Despite sending the required documents three times, they claim not to have received them and refuse to cancel our policy or refund us for the overcharges. Additionally, they auto-renewed our policy without our consent, even after we informed them that we no longer live at that address since we built our home and are no longer renting.
The customer service has been dreadful, and it feels like this is a tactic to take advantage of customers. We intended to cancel our policy in September 2024 because we no longer needed renters insurance. We opted for a different insurance company that offers better coverage and service. However, they never processed our cancellation, which we only discovered when it appeared on our credit report. This experience has been a complete nightmare, and I would not recommend this company to anyone.

I had renters insurance through them. They didn't pay one dime on my claim and raised my rates. We had a tree knock-out electric in my complex. Everyone else's renters insurance paid. Not Liberty. They should be shut down.

After my brother passed away, tools of his were stolen from his apartment. I filed a claim with Liberty Mutual. After multiple discussions with the claims rep, filing a police report and contacting the apartment complex where my brother lived to insist that they respond to the claims inquiry, today I was told that without a picture of the tools, Liberty Mutual would not honor the claim. This despite the fact that the apartment management verified that they had seen the tools subsequent to my brother's passing. The claim rep was told at the beginning of the process that this was the case and yet still put me through this ordeal so they could deny the claim. Way to go Liberty Mutual!

I felt like I was victimized twice. Once by the thieves are broken to my apartment. The next by these claims wraps that let them get away with it. Avoid this company with all cost. If you need them they will not be there.

I would give zero stars if I could. Do not use them for renter's insurance because they do not accept claims for anything. They only employ immigrant and indigent POS's and they deny legitimate claims. Never give these people your money because they will never pay out a single GD thing. Go with anyone else. It has to be better than these scum.

I had Liberty Mutual for about 2 years. For the last 6 months I have been calling in and making my payments with a customer service representative, because the bank account I was using was compromised and I've tried many times to get them to stop trying to get my payments from them! I make my payments from my disability card each month, only for them to also debit the bank account for payments as well for 6 months even though the payments from disability card goes through! I recieve emails saying payments are late and I'm being charged a double payment!
I call liberty mutual and speak to Patrick and he tells me that my payment on March 17, 2022 was returned so I has him to look for the payment made on March 2, 2022 and he sees it but claims I still owe! I canceled as of today and will be contacting Better Business Bureau and filing a complaint and also contacting legal aid about this issue! I have my card statement to verify all my payments have been made! PLEASE BEWARE Liberty Mutual will take more money than what you pay each month!!

What I thought would be a pleasant experience has turned into a complete nightmare. Had them for over 2 years no problem HOWEVER, we was moving out of state and got our belongings STOLEN by a fraudulent company (which by the way we still do not have our belongings) and the person responsible is incarcerated. Liberty Mutual ACTED as if they were going to replace our things (actually gave us a very low number) only to say our claim was denied because we let the movers take our stuff? I'm sorry. They didn't have their "I am a fraud or thief" on their shirts, etc.
It's been almost 2 years and we haven't heard NOTHING from them except when they find the responsible party they will then cut the check, well we told you he's in jail, what more do you want? You won't pay us until you can get compensation from him? That's wrong and now we have to take this matter in legal action as they are VERY uncooperative and poor in communication! I beg anybody That's even considering renters insurance with them to PLEASE GO ELSEWHERE. It's not worth the stress and headache!

I looked at other insurance companies and Liberty had the best. They were surprisingly affordable and cheaper than my weekly coffee cost. The associate who helped me made it all so very easy for me to sign up. Didn't feel pressured which for me is always what makes me say no.

Buyer Beware do not buy this insurance. I put in a claim this year. Boy was l heartbroken when l found out it had changed to 500.00 deductible. I had been paying for this particular policy for 5 years. This year l cancelled the policy. You have been warned.

Liberty rental insurance is comprehensive and reasonable priced. I have not had to use the rental insurance luckily but I have been with Liberty for many years for rental and car insurance so I am confident if needed it would be excellent.

I have had a renters policy with Liberty Mutual for over 10 years, great coverage at a really good price. Luckily have not had to ever file a claim, but I have the utmost confidence that in the event that I did have to file a claim, that they will take care of me promptly.

Heartless company! I have been with you guys since 2017. I don't have the option to cancel my auto-pay, or even delete the bank information online. The only option you have online is to change the payment information. You keep charging an acct that already returned the payment. The charge resulted to overdraft 2x! The $18.25 resulted to $70!!! and this corona scare is making it difficult for people to work! You can't even do anything! Washing your hands about overdraft! I understand the 1st was my fault, but I tried correcting it. I went online to try to change it but nothing was there. I accepted the $35 overdraft for $18.25 but to do it 2x in a month is simply absurd!
You know the money was returned bec of insufficient funds. Why do it again? March 4 you tried charging me, it was returned same day. Another charge you attempt on March 16. I contacted your chat support and you guys are washing your hands about "you couldn't see it in your system". It's impossible. The timeframe I understand but since March 4 to March 16 you still don't see it was returned? So how come your company tried to charge me again March 16 without my authority to do so. Now, I am stuck with $70 overdraft. Yes, I called my bank, but they couldn't do anything bec they don't have control on how many times you will try to keep on charging me. You can't do anything about the charge of overdrafft? You can at least put that money on the insurance bec that's more than 3x my monthly!

I am very dissatisfied with my Rental Insurance policy. There were many fraudulent claims placed on my account that I was never made aware of over a three year renter's policy. I was placed on hold several times and sent to many voicemails when trying to fix the situation. Would not recommend to anyone.

I found out that even though I have full replacement coverage, they take the price you paid then depreciation. So... The 17" MacBook Pro I bought in 2009 and have my receipt for $2600 they will replace it with a similar model BUT they depreciate it until you have no way to pay to replace it UNLESS you use your own money to purchase a new one and turn in the receipt... Then they pay you back the amount of the depreciation.
What if I don't have any money or credit card? They discontinued the 17" MBP I paid $2600 for. The new ones have 13" and 15" screens and now cost $1200. I thought I would be able to take the $2600 and purchase a 27" iMac (my eyes are bad) for $1200 and have enough from the $2600 to buy a iPad Pro. Adding up took less than $2600. Ok was happy for one day until "similar model" is how you are renursed - a tiny laptop worth $1200. My $800 design software was lost as well. Bottom line - I'm screwed because I'm poor. This is true for the TV - sofa - lampshades - air purifier, etc... Ok have to buy it with own money first - and I live paycheck to paycheck.
My civil war era coverlet worth $1200-$3000 isn't covered at all because of fine print regarding antique-irreplaceable items. They depreciate that back to 1865 - which makes it worthless. So I must just keep damaged items and not be able to replace anything deemed ruined. I'm going to get nowhere near enough to even replace the basics like a sofa or TV, and this is because I'm poor. Poor people are not poor by choice - I sat and sobbed after getting off the phone with my agent.

I am telling everyone who has any sort of insurance policy with Liberty Mutual. I lost everything in my storage unit that was deemed damaged from hurricane Harvey according to my apartment manager. They are not covering me for anything and lost so much stuff in my storage unit. I'm have absolutely nothing good to say about this company! And I am not one for trashing any company but when I have a $100k policy and they won't cover $800 loss I am going to tell everyone because this is not right. There was serious mold over every item in my storage unit. I even sent them pictures and all they said was my policy doesn't cover it.

I had a lot of problems with other companies in the past. The last company I was with had super very high fees and I has to leave them. But, Liberty Mutual have the best coverage and you can pay monthly or day by day for a very cheap price. Receiving a Claim was one of the most easy things to do with them. I had a claim done in minutes of calling, I did have to wait some time after but it worked for the best. They had my problem resolve in minutes. I would recommend this.

The representatives at Liberty Mutual help as much as they are able to. However, the upper management blocks their ability to follow through with the contracts by forcing customer service representatives to use the loopholes they implemented. They will refuse or hold off processing based on technicalities. It was a struggle to force to go forward with my claim even with proper documentation. Their policy options are great. However, you are only covered until a claim is needed. Make sure you keep copies of your original agreement to refer to if a dispute arrives. If they actually covered what they agreed to cover then the coverage would be great. But if the coverage is fake, none of that matters when it's claim time!

Customer service is always friendly and professional. They are so helpful and knowledgeable. I am so happy with all the service I have received from them. My claims have always been handled quickly like it was their own claim they were trying to get through. They work their hardest to make sure that you are taken care of and to treat you like family. They work hard to make sure they find the best option to suit your needs so that you're not paying for more than you need and you're not inadequately covered. The coverage is exceptional. It meets all my needs and then some without me having to worry about it breaking the bank. A great company offering great coverage.

I have experienced very good customer service while dealing with this company. They are always available to answer any questions I may have. This company has very many policy options to fit a wide variety of needs. They are very helpful in helping you choose which one is exactly right for you. Their coverage is very comprehensive although it is somewhat expensive.

Customer service was absolutely great. Always willing to ensure that all of my concerns and issues were always addressed and made me feel like they valued me and my family's business. Claims process was smooth and unproblematic. In what usually can be a frustrating experience, they ensured that everything was done swiftly, accurately and fair. Whether you were looking for something to cover a lot or just a little, they offered many different types for you to choose from. The coverage was phenomenal. Everyone was always helpful and understanding, even when answering the most inane questions. One woman in particular (Donna, I think her name was) stands out as a super support while I chose insurance. Claims processing is never fun and although my dad helped me out with the bulk of it, I had a lot of help through my insurance also. My friend used to work for Liberty and also helped me to contact the right people. Just when I was about to pass over the crazier coverage, my friends' apartment caught fire because of some electrical work being done. I quickly made sure that was covered too! Almost everything I could think of is covered! It was very helpful to have someone tell me about the chances of this or that happening and leading me to the right coverage.

Need to replace things. When something happens no matter what you do not have to sit around waiting to get old things back what had in the first place. They jump on your claim in one heart beat and not keep you waiting a long time, like other insurers. Other ones tend to rip you off and not even care. They go by their promise and not make your life miserable and angry and not care at all. You get your claim when you need right away. No back talk. You be covered for what you have paid for and need to not wait a long time and end up with nothing. In the long run you get everything replaced.

They were available at around the clock hours and helped me with my problem fairly quickly. There were multiple ways to contact them. I've have not filed a claim yet but I am confident that if I did the claims process would be smooth and painless. I believe they would also be fair. They have a wide variety of policy options available to their customers and discounts can be have with the bundling of those options. The representative was very good with helping me choose what insurance options I needed. I was able to obtain more than enough coverage at a very affordable price and the process was easy thanks to my representative. They were very helpful and knowledgeable.

Liberty Mutual has awesome customer service. They are very helpful and friendly. They answer all my questions. We didn't have any claims but I have every confidence that Liberty Mutual would have handled them very well, with professional and a friendly manner. Liberty Mutual has many policy options. We love Liberty Mutual, they are a fantastic company! Liberty Mutual has great coverage. We had a 20,000 thousand dollars policy coverage and it was plenty of money to cover what furniture we had for renter's insurance.

Wonderful customer service at Liberty Mutual. They go above and beyond to keep their customers satisfied and they have enough staff that you are not ever on hold very long and you can hear the smile in their voice. I have not ever personally had the need to file a claim for the renter's insurance, but I'm sure that it would be quite simple and not very time-consuming. Liberty mutual wants to make sure that you are satisfied.
Liberty mutual has a wide array of policy options from basic to extensive. You choose the plan that best fits your needs as well as your budget. You can add or cancel however many options you choose. Believe me you will be very happy that you choose Liberty Mutual insurance! Renter's insurance is very vital to protecting all the assets that you have worked hard to accumulate. You can even choose to add additional coverage for your phones and computers. Think about it if a burglar were to break in and they see a nice computer, what do you think will happen? They will grab it, with Liberty mutual it is def worth the small additional charge to get those covered.

Customer service is excellent. They are friendly and knowledgeable. They show respect to everyone. They keep you up to date on our policy. Fees are low and easily affordable. I highly recommend them to everyone. I didn't have a claim thank goodness. But if I did I know they would process the claim as soon as possible. Anyone wanting good coverage should definitely find out their rates. They have a lot of different options. You can get very good coverage. They will cover most everything in your house. If you need them they will be there for you. They have a lot of different coverages. They will work with you on payments be it monthly every 6 months or yearly. You just can't go wrong with them.

They were always courteous and helpful. I never had a problem that they couldn't solve. Each time I ever had an issue they always answered it correctly and if they couldn't they would take the time to connect me with someone who was able to answer all of my questions and be able to solve any issue that I was having at that moment. They were never rude or blunt no matter how stupid a question might have seemed to them. If they were ever frustrated or angry they never let on or let it be known to myself the customer.
I would definitely recommend their customer service to someone else who was curious about Liberty Mutual. When I had to submit claim they got an adjuster out to review my case within 24 hours and had a check issued within 48 hours of the initial claim. The policy that I had purchased was just right for me. It covered all of my belongings and was not too expensive... nor did it increase after I submitted a claim. I was pretty satisfied with my coverage. While I did not get the full price of all of the things I owned and lost, I still got the majority of its value.

Liberty Mutual is polite and helpful to all its customers. Getting help is very easier. Questions are happily answered for any of your concerns. I would definitely recommend it everyone who is looking for a easier way out. My claims process was very easy to go through. I had little to no problems at all compared with the other companies. I would definitely stick with Liberty Mutual for further contact and help. The policy options are great. They are convenient for customers. I personally had no problems with their policy options. They give a wide range to consumers which is very appealing to us. The coverage option is the best out of everything. They make sure you get a good coverage for your money. Basically you get your money's worth with regretting any decisions. I would recommend.

The customer service for Liberty Mutual is amazing! They don't put you on hold. They treat you with respect and are really nice to you. I think a lot of people should get it. They will love it as much as me and I have only had them for 2 years and they are good. Not the best but really good. Like most of the world could choose them. They gave me a new car and house when my car got totaled and my house got hit by a tornado and was gone in 5 minutes so they gave me a new car and house for FREE.

I would not recommend this company to anyone at all. The customer service reps are very rude and not professional at all. They don't care about what you are trying to say either. When you have a claim to file, it is so hard to do. They make it very difficult to understand and they do that on purpose. I would dread dealing with them every time I had to file a claim. The policy options are very good also. They offer a wide variety of options and it's very affordable. They have plans for every price and the best ones are really not that expensive. The coverage is very good too. They cover all the options that come with the plan and it covers more than most do. They cover an areawide population and cater to all people of all ages.

I requested a quote with a savings of $422.00. Their quote was $5,070.00 for 1 yr. I pay 1,669.20 a yr. I don't see any savings as that is an $3,400.80 difference. I see no savings and also false advertising. (TALK ABOUT A SCAM) (What happened to the $422.00 savings).

Four days ago I went onto their online site for a free quote on renters' insurance. The quote was way over my current costs so I didn't even finish the application. Since then I've received voluminous emails and telephone sales calls from both Liberty Mutual and OTHER insurance companies. I am now being truly harassed. Apparently they SOLD my information and now I may even have to change a telephone number that I've had for about ten years. Again, my phone rings constantly, etc. Spare yourself what I'm going through and STAY AWAY from quote on their online site!!!

In short, my home was robbed by thug friends of my son. All were identified by one of the boys who was seen in my apartment. After many weeks and ever changing stories by **, your scab investigator spoke to the officer for Roswell who claimed ** now says he was told they could go to my house and take anything they want. Really, this is what your investigator claimed is his reason for not paying my claim. He said he was seen at my house that day. He does live with me. He said he profited by the theft which was never proven in any form.
Your pathetic investigator ** spoke to me, my son, my agent, and the officer via phone call. His conclusion was the lie of the actual thief who said "he told me I could." I most certainly will do all I can to spread your bad name and my painful, costly experience to every avenue I can. Perhaps a 25,000.00 dollar loss to you will bring justice to me and others you have thrown to the side.

I have been with Liberty Mutual for almost 2 years. To my surprise, I was just checking my bank statement and found almost 3 transactions from Liberty Mutual in one month. After further investigating and wasting couple hours of time, I realized that my agent took the Liberty in his own hands to open a renter policy on my previous address and a life term policy with my fake signatures. Just file a complaint with Liberty. Lets see. FURIOUS....
