My claim process was not an easy one at first but Devan remained professional. The email communications were great and done in a timely manner. She was understanding and caring and allowed me to express my concerns and worked with me to find the best solution for my issue.

I recently lost my jewelry on a bike ride and had to file a claim around 7 or 8 pm before I had to go to work. I filed my claim in less then 24 hours Richard was processing my claim. After a few questions about the situation he resolved my claim. I appreciate how quickly my claim was processed and resolved. I am a single father and I work up to 72 hours per week so I don't get much free time.

My claim is still being handled by Emily. So far she is very prompt, helpful & super quick in her turnaround. Anyone who has Emily taking care of their claim is in good hands. Emily comes across as a person who is really passionate about her work & also very polite. It is good to across people like her in insurance especially because one only has to deal with insurance in a time of distress.

Claim processed with wrong amount and did not get any explanation why claimed amount was reduced, nothing to review, acted very slow in processing claim and was feeling cheated by taking insurance then being burgled. At least expected a statement giving details of what amount was claimed and what was processed for reimbursement.

The agent handling my case did not do as much as he could and barely helped at all. My policy is still paid and active. But My claim was over $50,000 and my coverage is up to $80,000 but I only received $4k… This has to be a scam! I need to escalate my case to a higher up. Y’all made me have the sheriff's department come to my home and did a throughout inspection and report. Why did we include the law if it wasn’t to be abided by or believe what they verified as stolen??? Deon is a nice person but he found every way to NOT PAY ME. He’s very deflective, defensive, instead of helping me get my money back he found ways not to. My claim has NOT been settled and I need further assistance still.

I had a very good experience with my Lemonade insurance. Adjuster Viviane was there for me when I really needed a lot of help navigating what to do next. I had nothing left after the fire, no home, and I was panicking. But I could call Viviane at any time for help, and she really went above and beyond to get the process moving. One of the best insurance companies ever. Absolutely love them. We had few bumps in the road due a major Hurricane but I understand mine was minor to those victims but they did their best. Lemonade is the best. I got my approval for my refund within minutes of the meeting my claim. My son scooter that he just got for his birthday was stolen. It cost me almost $600. I would refer them to anyone. I am so happy I have them.

I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank Clarissa and the Lemonade Team for their exceptional handling of my insurance claim. Back in January of this year (2021) while battling Corona Virus, a fire broke out at the apartment unit directly above mine causing the sprinklers to go off destroying my apartment and many of my belongings. Devastated, in quarantine and with really nowhere to go (apartment was unlivable) I called Lemonade and filed a claim immediately. Clarissa my representative got my boyfriend and I into a hotel immediately and began promptly working on my insurance claim.
After A few days in the hotel, I contacted Clarissa knowing we would additional time and that our apartment wouldn’t be fixed for “several weeks” and asked if there was any way we could move into and Air B and B instead. The accommodations at the hotel we were at were, let’s just say were sub-par (mind you we chose the hotel ourselves since it was close to both our jobs) and with no means to cook and having to order out food each meal until we finished quarantine we needed all the help we could get.
As soon as I asked for this request Clarissa immediately said “no problem, go online send me which one you think would suit you best and we will get something going”. I was astounded; if I could hug her through the phone I would have. The following day here we were in our beautiful Air B and B with not a worry in the world —well other than our destroyed apartment of course. It was such a relief and put me at such ease after spending several nights crying over this major inconvenience (fire) that just occurred in the dead of winter during a global pandemic.
Clarissa booked us the Air B and B for one month and said if I needed additional time to let her know. Over the next few weeks, Clarissa and other members of the Lemonade Team and Temporary Accommodations checked in with us and made sure we were comfortable and enjoying our new temporary home. Soon after, I began doing my “homework” and started putting together a little spreadsheet of all my damaged belongings, destroyed items etc. to tally up the losses. As well as this, Clarissa had asked that I kept a list of my food expenditures while we were in the hotel as I would be reimbursed for the food we ate during the lose of use of our apartment during that brief period. I then sent that over to her and was reimbursed the following day! I have never in my life experienced customer service like this before.
As weeks went by, we were then told by my landlord that the apartment would not be finished in the upcoming weeks and Clarissa extended our stay for us, which took a great deal of stress of both my boyfriend and I since we were both back to work full-time. However, once our stay was nearing an end we were blindsided by my landlord and were told that our apartment wouldn’t be ready for several more months. Because my coverage for loss-of-use was getting close to the max for the policy I purchased I would have to pay out of my pocket unless we found a new place to live.
Within the next few days we found a new apartment and couldn’t wait for our fresh new start. Seeing as all of our belongings were in storage (sent their by the remediation company) I wasn’t sure what to do next and called Clarissa. Not only did she directly work with them, she even got them to hire movers to move all of our stuff into our new place at no cost to me.
Our new apartment complex required us to have Renter’s Insurance, which is not mandatory in the state of Rhode Island but required by our specific landlord and I told him our story. He was so moved at how amazing Lemonade was to us and by my enthusiasm in your company that he told all of the other new tenets to get it as well! Lemonade and Clarissa I cannot thank you enough. I sincerely appreciate being a customer of yours and your tremendous dedication to your clients is unmatched. As a bartender, I talk to several people on a daily basis and when the story of my apartment fire comes up I tell them about you and how thankful I am that I had Lemonade and highly recommend it to everyone. Awesome service when we had to evacuate due to the Caldor fire. John was amazing with helping me organize my receipts and get the money I needed. The instant $250 was amazing to grab my first hotel. Everything I paid for during my evacuation was paid for, with no questions asked. Lemonade is an awesome rental insurance place to trust when things go wrong.

My office chair was stolen from my apartment, and I was insured through Lemonade renters insurance. As soon as I filed a claim one of the lemonade representatives contacted me within 24 hours and tried to get as much information as they could, and outlined what additional documents they needed from me to resolve my case. The entire process was very smooth and they were very understanding and willing to help. At the end they resolved my case with urgency and confirmed my claim and paid me the amount as outlined on my insurance policy.

When I signed up for a policy through Lemonade, I never thought I would actually use the policy, I just needed something budget friendly in order to move into my apartment. I had an unforeseen event happen in a circumstance where I didn't think renters insurance would cover or it would make sense to file a claim about. I googled anyway and read some assuring stuff and reached out to the Lemonade team. Submitting a claim and dealing with customer service was hands down the easiest, least stressful, and had such a better outcome than I could have ever imagined! My apartment complex decided to charge me 2700 for new carpet. It was easy to file a claim after I talked to Sasha. It was just hard at first to keep track of when the accident happened. I do wish the Pet Renters was more than 500$ because I would gladly pay more to have more than 500$. But nevertheless Sasha was great and felt bad for me.

I had a terrible car break-in during my road trip in Salt Lake City, and lost my camera, lens, iPad and Nintendo Switch Console. I had my phone stolen. I submitted a claim to Lemonade a week later when I realized my renters insurance might cover it. Unfortunate incidents make things seem like they’re never going to get better. Having my stuff stolen not only felt violating, but I was out of some pretty important stuff. While shopping at a major grocery store I recently had the unfortunate experience of having my laptop bag stolen from my cart. After reporting it to the store - I was distraught when they informed me it had not been turned in. So I turned to Lemonade and began the claim process. I was extremely surprised that the the online claim form was relatively painless. I heard back from Kailey (my claims rep) requesting some additional information/documents that I needed to complete. This was my first claim ever and it was a fairly straightforward process, and my agent was super communicative and helpful. I would have preferred to submit my claim on the desktop, instead of the phone, however. It was a little challenging to get all the documents and receipts onto my phone to submit, and the follow up documents were sent via email, which also seemed like it would have been made easier with a desktop uploader. But otherwise, a relatively smooth and quick experience!

I’ve dealt with insurance companies in the past and filing claims can be a real headache, but the staff here were amazing all around! Their empathy and understanding and professionalism are beyond reproach. With everything going on in my life, having to file a claim was the last things I needed/wanted to do because I had more important things going on with my life that made it feel like my world was falling apart. They were not only doing their job to work on my claim but also sympathized and empathized my situation and made me feel like things could get better. It took so long to close this out, weeks would go by with no communication from Jonathan. He would say he would respond within a certain time frame and wouldn't. As me and my lady set out to explore Los Angeles while on vacation, we were shocked to see that our rental car had been broken into, glass shards remains and our suitcase and bag were gone. After calling 911, the dispatcher told us that we would have to fill out our own police report, what a joke of a City! (As if I didn’t have enough emotions, we also had to get a replacement rental car too).
After submitting the police report, I put in a claim with Lemonade Renters Insurance because I was pretty sure that despite where you are, my belongings are still covered. The app is great, but I was soon put in contact with Kailey, whom took on my claim. It was 2 days later in the airport that I got a call from her, and she totally got my frustration with the Los Angeles police Dept. Upon arriving back home, I let a few days go by, before sending Kailey an email for updates. She’d reply saying it’s in progress. There’s nothing more worrisome and nerve racking than to have your home burglarized. I was uneasy at first and the police report and claims process was new but my claims specialist Bayley was very helpful and informative. This whole experience dealing with renters insurance is a hassle since signing up for Lemonade. I had to call upon them 2 times. And this last experience turned out to be a little questionable as far as communication goes. And the claims advocate was in the beginning trying not to hear me out. When the problem kept on the Advocate seemed unwilling to help. After all said and done there was specific details that mean a lot to me that were not communicated which did not set right with me. Which is why the 3 stars. And still this very moment I am unsure of the accuracy that is filling my mind with skepticism. But regarding the brand I feel is very modern and relevant if you guys can allow us to make our claim and not let Maya automate it the experience will be so much more real. After a few conversations the vibe got a little more clear but in the end I felt tossed around and taken advantage of.

I don't have that much experience with insurance companies, but so far I have experienced lengthy, energy-sapping processes driven by a vague hope that you will get some reimbursement for your losses. My experience with Lemonade was quite different. Simple and user friendly without difficult, hard-to-understand policy wording (and thus lengthy, energy-sapping processes), a very responsive team and a quickly resolved claim. It feels very transparent. You understand what you pay for. And when my bike got stolen, I filled in some basic details on the app, uploaded the requested documents, sent some more proof of evidence by email, and had my claim approved within a few days only. Didn't know that was possible in insurance land! :) I have my Lemonade Renter's insurance only for a few months now, but so far I am very happy with my choice!

Luke was my claims adjuster. Had absolutely no empathy and when I had nowhere to go due to my apartment being flooded he refused to make accommodations for me. I had to call his supervisor to get anything done. They only gave me $351 after $5,000 - $6,000 of my things were damaged. I’m still working with Will on my claim to get my things covered. Honestly working with Lemonade has caused me more stressed on top of my home being destroyed.

I recently had my camera stolen and was at a loss for what to do. I contacted Lemonade and filed a claim and Sasha turned a very unfortunate event around in a matter of days, helping me to gather all documents needed for the claim, and submitting it for reimbursement. After a devastating loss, I could not be more grateful for the support and attentiveness Sasha provided while working through my claim.
At one point, another member of the Lemonade team reached out as it was Sasha's day off and explained what the next steps are and reassured me that the process will be quick. Everyone who I have spoken to along the way has been so compassionate which really makes me feel like they truly care and I'm not just another ticket they're trying to get done like other insurance companies. And when Sasha confirmed my reimbursement, she shared the same level of excitement with me, really showing how much she was invested in the process of resolving this for me.

I have been using Lemonade for a while but never had to file a claim. I signed up because it was very affordable and it had great reviews. Fast forward a few years, I had to submit a claim because one of my high worth items was stolen. I was very nervous because I haven't had great experiences with insurance. When it was necessary to file a claim, they were not only helpful, but understanding, comforting, and extremely transparent. Although it took longer than preferred, I can’t blame them for that. I've been using Lemonade for my renter's insurance for the last year and just recently had to file my first claim when my bike was stolen from my apartment complex. Within a few hours of submitting my claim, I received an email from Ricardo and he was amazing throughout the whole process (which took about a week from the time of the theft)!!! Ricardo was super prompt in checking with my local police/landlord who I had already filed reports with and he replied to emails so fast and was so friendly. Though I haven't ever dealt with rental insurance before I have dealt a lot with other insurance agents and have NEVER had an experience that was better than mediocre until now.
Ricardo/Lemonade went above and beyond to make me feel more at ease. As long as you do your part beforehand (file a police report&inform your landlord) Lemonade makes getting coverage for stolen belongings such a breeze. I will always miss my bike that was stolen but this experience was truly a bright spot in my week :)

After 5 years of being a renters insurance customer, I had a leak in my apartment, was displaced and needed to file the claim for displacement and property damage. The process to file the claim took all of 3 minutes. I purchased renter's insurance from Lemonade thinking, "I'll never need this." I woke up one night to a flood in my condo due to a broken pipe in my neighbor's upstairs unit. It flooded every room, and much of my property was destroyed. I was forced to move out while the damage was being repaired. Alexis from Lemonade was with me every step of the way! Lemonade offered to find a hotel for me, but I decided to choose my own. In the end, my policy covered my damaged property, hotel costs, and food costs above what I would normally pay. I contacted Lemonade when I had to evacuate due to the Caldor fire. My agent John called me back the same day to go over my policy with me. Fortunately my insurance covered my hotel and food while myself and my dog were displaced. John made finding a hotel and dealing with reimbursement so easy and stress free. Honestly when my fire happened I was skeptical about Lemonade. Even the fire fighters chuckled when I told them who my provider was. They were wrong. Lemonade helped me the entire way. The process did take about 2 months but it was done! The first day they sent me $250 for basic needs and paid for a hotel for 3 weeks. When my home was deemed unlivable they paid for a hotel for 3 months! Until my new house was complete. I still have them as my insurance providers. I won’t change. They also paid me for EVERYTHING in my apartment since it was damaged.

The past few months I have been dealing with a property management company that has completely ghosted me after after going through 2 floods that were proven not to be my fault and having discovering that black mold and asbestos in my apartment. So as I am sure you can guess the last few months have been spent dealing with these issues leaving me, at the very end of it all, completely jobless and strapped for cash while having to move. There was damage done to my personal property throughout all these events. Lots of water damage. When I first filed a claim with Lemonade I wasn't sure that anything would come of it. After all they are very affordable for the amount of coverage that they were providing for me. In my experience, low cost means low quality. (Sorry that's what I'm used to.) I can't tell you how wrong I was.
Adam (my claim specialist) not only was very attentive, he did not give up when I couldn't respond to him right away. When I submitted all the information that he asked for, Adam made sure my claim was settled relatively quickly. They got the funds into my account very quickly. Because of their diligence and dedication, I didn't end up homeless or without some kind of financial relief. I can't tell you how grateful I am to Lemonade and Adam for helping me. When it comes to your renters insurance or your homeowners insurance my experience with this company tells me that that there is no one better. I was absolutely devastated when my car got broken into and all of my vital belongings such as my credit cards, my ID and licenses, my purse, sunglasses, and my phone were stolen from me. Fixing my broken car window was going to be expensive enough, but then I also had to replace all those items that were stolen, while canceling credit cards and dealing with fraudulent charges. When a water pipe burst in my apartment unit in February, 2021, my family was instructed to move out during the restoration process. I contacted Lemonade for help, and they were extremely helpful from the beginning all the way through the end of the process. They informed us that we had coverage for our additional living expenses while temporarily residing away from our apartment. I found a local hotel, and my family moved there during the restoration process. We were initially told the repair process would take a few weeks. Then we were advised that repairs would take a month. We ultimately spent six months residing at a hotel until the repairs were finally completed. Lemonade's claim team was extremely responsive, patient, and helpful throughout this entire process. I cannot recommend Lemonade more highly for their incredible customer service and rapid claim payments.

Recently my car was broken into at our residence. Not only was this alarming and completely out of the ordinary, but it also made my family and myself feel violated. My garage was burglarized and lots of items were taken. I filed the claim and Kailey followed up immediately, getting in touch with me and reaching out, letting me know the procedure I needed to do with the police department and everything which I did. I wasn't happy about the $1,500 limit on the undocumented items because all my items were most of my items were not documented. In other words I didn't have receipts for them so that really put a damper on things for me but Kaylee did the best job she possibly could do and got me as much money as he possibly could which was very important to me because I need to replace all of those items that were taken.
I also had a supplemental report of several items that I had not noticed missing initially cuz she just recently had finish that up for me while being very busy with other claims and I was pretty much unavailable the last few days here helping my grandmother so she really pulled through and knock cross the finish line for me whenever when I really needed it. Although I'm not really too happy with the payment policies of Lemonade Kailey did a great job with everything, followed through to the end and is a great asset to your company. No doubt about that.

My placed flooded and my agent Stephanie took care of everything. We had problems contacting property manager but she got my claim in and resolved. She was detailed and would even call me weekly to let me know what was going on with claim. That high deductible is the only drawback. It's was almost $3000.

Very bad experience with Lemonade. After suffering burglary, they required excessive amount of pictures, receipts, police reports in order to show proof of loss. Then they took nearly 2 months to contact parties and finalize claim. They literally required a receipt for every book, pot, pan, blanket, towel, washrag stolen from storage unit. Was only able to submit partial claim of complete loss suffered. Even then, they dragged out well beyond timeframe allowed. Only finalized claim after threatening formal complaint with Texas department of insurance.

The entire experience made me feel like they didn’t believe me. It was unbelievably hard to reach on the phone. Every time I tried, they were never available. This was at different times throughout the day. Most correspondence was through email and I believe we should have a preference, because email use guarantees a 24 hour delay for progression. I had over 5,000 stolen from me. My scooter can’t be covered, even though it’s my property and not. Motor vehicle, which it doesn’t exceed 14 mph, I’m talking about a stand up scooter (not covered), ridiculous. I can’t replace any of the items because I’m only getting 1700 back because of a deductible of 2500. So, if I would’ve been carrying my laptop alone and nothing else, I wouldn’t receive anything… where is the assurance of being insured in that manner?
Having insurance, absolutely served no purpose whatsoever, but caused me to stress and waste my time, tracking down documents, days I couldn’t walk or move, I still had to make things happen for your long list of demands I had to produce to prove myself innocent in court to only receive the smallest portion which isn’t enough to replace the items stolen from me. This has been the most mortifying experience I’ve ever had with a business. Not only that, I was staying with Lemonade, with respect to the sternness of their actions to protect themselves as well as their insured, but after you’ve left me to where I can’t even replace my beautiful items stolen from me, I can’t even justify how or why!

I had a bicycle stolen which was covered by my renter's policy with Lemonade insurance. The company prides itself on its easy to understand policy. What's frustrating is the claims person I worked with would neither engage with me on the specific policy provisions I asked about nor would she even read the policy. An insurance policy is a contract. While there may be room for interpretation, the idea of a contract is to clearly lay out what's covered and what's not. The representative did quickly process my claim and sent funds equal to what my 5 year old bicycle would sell for in the used market. When I asked if this figure represented an "Actual Cash Value" (a defined term in the policy) settlement she insisted that the payment was "replacement cost" and they only pay actual cash value for antiques and collectibles.
The policy clearly states that my claim can be settled for "replacement cost without depreciation" a term she refused to even discuss. It is not possible to replace a 5 year old bicycle, or computer, or camera or whatever one has had stolen, with a 5 year old item that has not suffered depreciation. The representative insists that my claim is fully paid on a replacement cost basis. She also claims that the value of my claim is degraded because I purchased my bicycle new from an authorized dealer but the bicycle was advertised on ebay. There is nothing in the policy that supports her position. While she is quite confident in her statements, her resume would suggest that she lacks the skill to handle insurance claims with her most recent positions as an actress and a restaurant server. I asked that my claim be elevated to another party in the company.
The new claims representative initially also claimed that the policy does not cover new merchandise costs when replacing a stolen item covered by the policy. In a phone conversation with the California insurance commission disagrees, and literally laughed when I told them what Lemonade is trying to do with my claim. They also called into question the motives of this company and how they likely violate the Fair Claims Settlement Practices. It remains to be seen how the company will handle this claim. However, their actions so far seem to be a conscious effort to obfuscate the true coverage of the policy. For that I give them a single star.

My claim for my stolen property was given to me at exactly the amount I requested (minus the deduction), without depreciation, in 4 seconds.
