American Home Shield was quick about this particular service because it was a water problem and water was spilling all over the house. All American got back to me really fast. The plumbing issue happened at 9:00 and by the time I called my warranty company, it was about 9:30. Then the plumber arrived at 2 o'clock in the afternoon. So, they came out really expeditiously. The guy did a really good job and he was quick about it. He had a mask on and we social-distanced as much as we could while discussing the issue. I was very pleased all-around.
I've had them American Home Shield for two years and it's much better than the previous company I had before. Home Shield is probably more expensive, but it's worth it to me because I feel much more comfortable with them than my previous company. American Home Shield's customer service is better too. I had a couple of services this week and the last one was for my refrigerator. The people who were assigned couldn't get out until next week, so I called back and asked if they could find someone else. They assigned the claim to another person. A guy called me late in the evening and he came this morning and he was nice and professional.

The locksmith who rekeyed our home was great. He asked about wearing a mask and was willing and able to work around my pet. American Home Shield came as described and was an easy process. It’s a stellar offer and people should go for it.

I will definitely recommend American Home Shield. So far, so good. I had a couple of encounters like sump pump and furnace. With the sump pump, I got it replaced with a new one. I'm happy for that. With the furnace, there was nothing to be fixed, except to make sure everything it is working in order. For the sump pump, I did the claim in mid-October, and it was raining. I wanted the service to be much quicker, but it did not. It was taking like the normal cycle. I have informed that to them because it was fixed on Saturday. There was a weather forecast on Saturday that it would be raining in the late afternoon. The tech came in earlier than that late afternoon and he fixed it. But there was a delay between American Home Shield's approval and the agents taking into action. When something is urgent, it makes you feel good when it's responded in an exceptionally shorter period of time.
Thanks for your feedback. We love to hear when we have provided fast and provided fast and professional service. And we are always here if you need us.

I have my American Home Shield service contract so that if I need service, I can call them and they would solve my problems. If I have to pay extra for a service like for when my claim is not covered, I would pay. However, if I call them and they tell me "We cannot help you", then I don't need AHS. I explained that to the lady rep who took my phone call. While it was easy to make the call, AHS never sent a contractor. So, I called an independent contractor to solve my problem and canceled my contract with AHS.
We really appreciate you taking time to share your warranty experience. We do apologize that this request has caused you to cancel your warranty. Your feedback is important and we look forward to your possible joining the AHS team in the future. Have a great day!

The display was not working for my oven. So, when I had put the claim saying that the display is not working, Brandon from SNS Appliance Repair tried to put in a request for a replacement of the part, and there was no part available. I got an email from American Home Shield saying that they would replace the oven for me. I was given a link to select the oven, and I did. Then, they said Mr. Appliance would be installing it, and there was some other company who would deliver it. They delivered it, then Mr. Appliance came and installed it. They were really good and very professional. They came, they cleaned up and did pretty good work. American Home Shield has been great. My only concern is that they don't allow doing it electronically. I had to be on the phone for three and a half hours, which is something I don't understand how on earth anybody has that time. Other than that, once I get somebody on the phone, everything is really great.

Our freezer was not working properly and we didn't know why. The ice maker wasn't working either. Someone with Appliance Care came and repaired the freezer but the freezer and ice maker are not attached. My refrigerator has French doors with the freezer on the bottom. The tech replaced a black piece that was causing a clog. He then said the ice maker was broken and he ordered a new one. About a day after he left, my husband and I thought we heard ice. The tech said he would call when the ice maker came in. I thought, “Let's just make sure it's working by the time he gets here.” When tech called, I told him that the ice maker was working. My fear, though, is it's gonna stop working on day 31 after the tech had been here. He told us that if the ice maker stops working, we were to let him know and they would take care of it. I saved his number on my phone so that I could reach out to him. Thankfully, the ice maker is still working.

Gibson Air Conditioning came out and they very good. By morning, the tech was already here at 7:00. He called and said, “I’m 15 minutes away.” The issue was an electrical part and a battery. He waited long enough to see if everything was running right. He realized it was this little battery. He was very efficient. Everything was good. In fact, I told him I would call and never did. I feel good about American Home Shield. I've been very disappointed when I used to pick people on my own. So, that’s been the difference. They've taken advantage of me. I don't feel like this has happened in this situation at all since I've been with the system.

I would recommend American Home Shield. I always call if I have a claim and I've had no problems. Although I did not have a decent experience on all calls, the call for the leak under the house was decent. The contractor got there when they said they're gonna get there and they did what they said they were gonna do. It was good. They called me, texted me, and kept me abreast of what was going on as well. They found a very difficult leak under a slab. They had to go into the floor and jolt the concrete up. Once they did that, they fixed the pipe and then they patched the hole up with concrete.

We liked the technician. He's a great, competent guy, so we're satisfied. He worked on our Whirlpool refrigerator before, but there was some moisture on the bottom door in the last few days, so we had a follow-up on it. American Home Shield has been efficient. The people on the receiving end of our claims do a good job with assigning someone to come take a look at the problem and they get people to the home in a good time. With the COVID, their responses are good.

My last claim was for an outdated piece of pipe in the bathtub that had to be cut. The plumber said that they don't use that type of pipe anymore so he would have to cut it off, put a PVC pipe and reroute it. It took him a couple of minutes to do the job. I had to pay most of the cost to get the job done as AHS said it wasn't covered. This was the first time I've had them say that. I've been with AHS a while and what they do is really good. The contractors they've used have been good people. I recommend them.

Something got cut on my air conditioning unit. AHS sent us a text message the day after we filed the claim online and told us who was assigned to it. Then, the contractor contacted me and scheduled the time to come out. They came out in two days, had to wait on a part, and came back a couple of days later. The unit's been working well since they repaired it.

I'm a Real Estate agent. I do a lot of business with Old Republic and Fidelity. However, I just moved and knew, from word-of-mouth, that American Home Shield would do a little bit better in coverage. I figured I would try i, and it seems to be working out okay so far. I am impressed with the service I've been getting from them. So far, so good. I had a claim on my freezer and it is now working completely, and so, I'm happy. The tech from GE Appliances was very knowledgeable. He knew what he was talking about. The process of doing a claim was easy. I just called in, and the response time was fairly good too. The only response time that took a little bit longer was when I had my spa looked at. Unfortunately, the spa guy was on vacation, but he made up for it. He was definitely very helpful. He was great.

I'm having a lot of problems with my refrigerator and I'm not understanding that. I've been with American Home Shield for 12 years ever since I moved to my house. I don't even know why they didn't go ahead and give me a new refrigerator. But they have their own way of doing things. Otherwise, American Home Shield is okay. They sent out GM Appliance recently and they were excellent. They have great people that I'm working with.

Make sure you know what you're getting when signing up with AHS. They're good in some areas, but I ran in into stuff that they didn't want to cover. Recently, they sent out A-US Air Conditioning of Texas and they started the pilot light on the heater. They also checked the air conditioner. They didn't tell me what they were doing while they were doing it but it was a very quick thing. I've also got one claim that I'm still working on. It has to do with the water portion in my master bedroom and I had the claim since July. Then last week, the techs finally came in and I paid $1,500 dollars to replace some piping that American Shield wouldn't cover. It's not complete yet but it is not a problem.

I canceled it once, because I thought that I had figured it out. And then I redid it. The automation said I’d get a refund and so I was able to even cancel it on the automation. That was kinda handy instead of having to navigate through a website.

When submitting a claim, I'd rather take a beating than call American Home Shield. As soon as my contract is up, I'm canceling them. They don't pay much, their service charges are too high and their customer service is terrible. Generally, the people they send out to work on the appliances or plumbing are terrible. But the guy from Southway Appliance happened to be very nice. He had to come out twice because he had to get the parts but he was able to fix the dryer timely. So, I was very pleased with him. He was wonderful. Still, I would tell my friends and family not to even think about using AHS. I’ve had it with them. Two of my kids have them and they’re dropping them also.

A couple of years ago, we signed up for American Home Shield. Right then, a lot of companies were doing their advertising. I was watching the commercials and I was looking at what everybody was saying. I made the decision that I wanted to go with American Home Shield. I'm quite pleased with their service. I'm satisfied with the timing. There are no unexpected delays. They try to get a technician in within days and the technicians are knowledgeable. The only thing is American Home Shield should lower their price. That would be nice. But I know the company needs to make a profit because that’s what they’re in business for.
We have a three-door refrigerator and there's a clip that holds the door shut. The gasket on the top right-hand door broke. The technician who came ordered a pair of gaskets and he replaced the gasket that had broken. I kept the other gasket for the left door. We made a recent call because the clip on the left door gasket had broken. Usually, the first time the technician comes in is for troubleshooting and problem diagnostics. While he was here on the first visit, he took the gasket that I had and accomplished the fix. That was very much appreciated.

My dishwasher was not draining, and I called American Home Shield because this time, they didn’t give a list of potential service providers they could send out. There were some service calls that I made where they did that. I've had two experiences previous to this where the contractors were not very good. They tried to be helpful, but they didn't end up being very effective. I had to live with the problem resolution. I'm tired. So this time, I decided to hit it off before we ever got started. I did some checking on the service of both the contractor that was initially offered and the other one that was offered when I called back. They had a 1 and 1.8 from the Better Business Bureau. I wouldn’t accept either of those, so I called back to the home warranty company.
I asked for a list of potential contractors, so I can have the chance to vet them and then select one that's good. American Home Shield gave me a list of six and two of them had very good ratings. TSA was a local firm with a good rating, so I put the service call in with them. The technician did some troubleshooting and resolved the problem. He was very thorough.

Our furnace had an issue and it was blowing out no hot air at all. It was convenient to put in a service request to AHS. I go online, log into my account, pay my 75 bucks and they have a contractor reach out to me to schedule a service. Paragon Mechanical LLC came and the techs fixed my issue quickly. That same night, the furnace went out again. They came out again and found that the circuit board had gone out for good. They had to order another one which will take 10 days if we're lucky. Then, they will schedule a time to come back and install it.
If I pick up the phone and call a furnace company, they bring all the parts and get my problem fixed the next day. But, I pay a lot for it. Overall, having a home warranty company is fantastic. I get a lot of protection. But I have to be prepared to wait a good while for service. I would highly recommend AHS if you have a backup plan for anything that breaks. Even though things get fixed with them, it takes a long time.

My hot water heater was leaking and I got water all on my floor. Home Shield was very helpful and somebody was out very soon. The tech was very nice and very concerned. He treated us like we were his kinfolk and was explanatory. He couldn't diagnose the problem and he told me he couldn't see where the water was coming, but the tray was full of water. He told me they sucked it all up with the vac and to call him in the morning and let him know if it's full again. We cut the water off for a short period of time and in the morning, it was full again and running in my room. The tech said it was leaking somewhere in the bottom and we needed to get it replaced. They said they had to order it and I had to keep my water heater off. It was done within five days, at least.

When the air conditioning was going on, it constantly ran and it had like a puff sound to it. It just constantly ran and ran, and it did that for about two and a half days. That was when I submitted the claim to American Home Shield. When the technician came, it stopped doing it. He tested it off and on in different modes. Since then, it's been operating okay. The thermostat is functioning correctly.
I was very pleased with the service from American Home Shield and I would recommend it. There was one time I was dissatisfied last year. But that had nothing to do with American Home Shield. It was with the appliance guy. The website wasn't 100% clear as to what problem I was experiencing. It was with the refrigerator and the website said icemaker. I assumed it meant a refrigerator with an ice maker. So when the technician came out, he thought it was the icemaker that was the problem. I explained to him what happened, and the problem was the refrigerator motor. The compressor quit. I didn't know that was what the problem was.
We lost all our food, but that had nothing to do with American Home Shield. What happened was they checked it out and it took them a week to get back to tell me that they had an okay to repair it. Then the techs came and took the refrigerator and had to take the doors off of the refrigerator to get them out the main door. This refrigerator LG model with the doors on it, it's kind of wide. So when they took the doors off and they left, they had the darn refrigerator for like five weeks before we got it back.
I kept calling every three days, and they kept telling me that they're waiting for a part. I called a couple stores here in Tucson, and I said, "This is the type of model of refrigerator I have. Is there a backorder on compressors?" They said, "No." They got a couple in stock, in fact. So I kept calling the appliance store, and they kept telling me it was on backorder and all kinds of other excuses. Finally, we got it back. When they came back and they reassembled the door, the stainless steel door had a lot of dings in it now. I tried calling them and they never got back to me about it. But it was not American Home Shield's fault. I would call the 800-number, they in turn would call the contractor and then they were telling the representative the same thing they were telling me. It was a six-week drawn out process that was unbelievable. I wasn't happy with the technician.

We still have one more issue that was supposed to be worked on. The contractor is going to come back in today to fix the problem. This thing happened to us on a Friday evening. We called in but nobody came in during the weekend. It would be nice if American Home Shield has contractors who work during the weekend and who can come and help us or at least come in, inspect and tell us what needs to be done. But overall, I'm fine with the way American Home Shield is working, the service provided and their response time. The contractor who came out and serviced my cooktop was great. He told me what was going on with it and he had to get some parts for it because they thought it was a certain thing, but they found out the cooktop was burned out. Getting everything together from start to finish, they ended up taking two weeks. American Home Shield will replace my cooktop and do right and some of the other things they haven't done right. They need to get it together. They always got to take $100 from somebody every time there's a call that's made and I find that absurd.
Right now, they're doing something wrong in terms of trying to collect fees. They need to make sure that that is right, and they have all the information on file. I said, "What do you have on file right now?" and then I said, "Because there’s something you're doing wrong." They wanted argue with me and tell me, "Oh, I can't give you the last four digits of..." My time with American Home Shield has not been great because it’s taken me hours on hold to try to get someone on the line. I’ve been back and forth between several different departments to try to resolve issues. When I’ve called to file claims, I've heard that something is covered. Then when I go to my policy and tell them what it says, it's, “Oh, yeah. Maybe it is covered.” My biggest issue when I started with them was with my water heater. I called in March and it wasn't resolved until three to four months later. The reason being is because when the contractor came out, they couldn't do anything so they went back. Then once they went back, American Home Shield said they needed to get the information from this third party vendor but they couldn't reach them for two months.
At that time, the pipe on the water heater was a black metal pipe. So that was dangerous and toxic. I was waiting for two months for them to get ahold of somebody to fix it but they never got ahold of them. Then they sent someone else out and they tried to charge me the $80 again. But I told them that the first person didn’t do anything so why are they charging me twice? Then they said I was right and that I shouldn’t be charged. So they took the charge off. It remained off for two weeks and then I got a bill for another $80. That went on for three months.
I was on the phone for hours and hours and they said they would have the manager call me but the manager never called. They would tell me, “Oh, yeah. I see the notes of the last person. So, this is what we have to do to fix it.” They go to do it and it gets fixed. Then something in the system flips it, and then I get charged again. So I would not recommend American Home Shield. But when I spoke to the representatives, they did the best that they could do. They stayed on the phone with me for hours trying to resolve the issue. But itt was never resolved. The only way I was able to fix my water heater was on my own. I found somebody else and we had to pay them out-of-pocket. I couldn't wait months and months and months with pipes that were poisonous for American Home Shield to fix it.

I was with one of the competitors and they kept giving me these repair people that would show up in a hooptie and weren't very professional. American Home Shield had a better rate. It's also peace of mind for me too. It's simple to submit a claim. It's just online. I just have to remember my password to get in and that's the hardest part of the whole process. But I have a password book.
Recently, the techs from Sears came for our washing machine. The first person looked at it and ordered a part. The second person came back and installed the part. But the part didn't work and so I called back. The third person showed up, looked at it, and said that he needed a new part. The fourth person came in and installed the new part and it was a defective one. But I love the communication because it gives a huge window of about three to four hours when they're gonna be there. They always text or call when they're on their way so that we're not just sitting there for three to four hours. They were very nice. They came in and had a face mask. They wiped down the washing machine after they finished with it. They kept up with their stuff and they didn't excessively walk around and touch everything in the house.

American Home Shield sent PJ Appliance for the refrigerator and the microwave. They were good and professional. The microwave could not go on or off. The button was stuck. The refrigerator was not cooling. At one point, it’s not making any ice. Now, it’s making ice, but it’s still not really cooling as it should be cooling.
Thanks for letting us know everything worked out great for you. Taking care of our customers is the main goal here at AHS. I am glad that you were happy with the work done. We look forward to servicing you in the future as needed. Enjoy your day.

I'm concerned about the communication with American Home Shield and the ability to get any information about the status of my claim. The original request was submitted for the furnace services. There are two types of furnace, the floor furnace and the air flow furnace. There was a confusion between those two. My first complaint with my furnace was more than six months ago. It was sent to Paramount and they sent the technician three times. Every time the technician came for the same furnace, he found there was a part with the furnace that was wrong, but never really fixed it. My frustration grew with them.
I asked American Home Shield to change that company for another one due to the fact that they did not complete the job. They always had to come back in a period of three to four weeks with same issue. Sometimes different problems, but it was the same original issue. There was no communication with the technician at all. He came in, did the job, and left. The guy was not friendly at all.
After my request for a new company, American Home Shield sent it to again to Paramount. When I got the call from Paramount again, I told them I asked for another company because I was not happy with the technician and the results. They got upset and they said that they requested me to be assigned to another company. That was when Northwest Sundance came in. The technician has been very communicative. He attended to the service. He found the issue and told me what it was.
A week later, the furnace stopped completely. I reset it. Then the technician came back on the 15th. We learned that the furnace had a major issue, and he needed to replace the whole furnace. From last week until today, I still don't have a furnace working and it's cold here. Every time that I call American Home Shield, it seems to me that they're confused about what type of furnaces and my order request for a replacement has not been processed yet. So they keep telling me that this is on the review panel or some type of preapproval or approval.
Every time that I call and ask to speak to somebody, they said, "You cannot speak to somebody." I have to explain to them the whole issue over and over. It was really frustrating to me that I cannot even communicate with their manager or somebody who can give me an answer about timing and how long would it take for me to have somebody to replace or fix my furnace. We have kids here and two nights ago, it was 32 degrees. It is cold and we need the furnace. It's really frustrating for me and my family to depend on American Home Shield to give me an answer to when we can have heat in our home. We have to all live with one little heater and the house is over 2,000 square footage. In the daytime, when my kids do their homework, we have to go downstairs with the heater. We have to be all in one room.

I called up American Home Shield and put in a work order for the gas burner. I immediately got the response that the contractor has been assigned and he came the next day. The pressure on the gas burner was not okay and he repaired it for the time being. But he said that the part was about to fail so, he ordered the parts and he will be coming today to repair that. Earlier this year, we had a claim with my washer and then, the same gas burners that are acting up. That was replaced earlier this year and we got the same technician this time. We got to know who was coming and what time he would be coming. So, that was very good. We did the tracking notification.
I am pleased to hear about the excellent service you have received. I hope you continue to enjoy!

I did the claim online to American Home Shield and they promptly sent it over to the local plumber. There were a couple of plumbing issues. On one of them, it was within 24 hours when the plumber came out and another time, it was probably a couple of days. The contractors were great. We’ve been using AHS for four and a half years and each year, we put in about three claims. Everything was resolved in a satisfactory way.

I’m new to the area and I didn't realize how cold it got at night until the heating unit in this house didn't turn on. It was freezing in the house and I wasn’t able to get out of bed. I called American Home Shield and I asked if that was covered, and they said it was. They sent out an HVAC guy within a week and then he ordered a new remote. He explained how the whole thing works and got it working. It was immensely helpful. Now, I have heat in the house. The guy was great in resolving the issue and setting up for me what I wanted. I didn't want my air conditioning unit to switch on even if it was hot outside, so it's just set for the heat to come on when it gets colder than 68.

The washer had been leaking. We just had the garage repainted and everything was clean and sometimes, I'd get in there and it had water. I didn't know where it was coming from. I noticed that when my mama was washing, the hose was leaking outside. She would take out the clothes and it was still dripping. It wasn't spinning all the way. Then the dryer was taking an hour and a half to dry one or two pieces. So my mama said to call and tell American Home Shield. I did that and they said they'd have somebody come and check it out.
John Broussard Appliance Sales was sent out. He was on time and very nice. He changed the tubing at the hose that was broken. Something with the spinning wasn't working. Then he had to change the rim around the dryer door and something else. My mama asked him if we'd get a new one and he said no, and that we've got better than the new ones as the new ones don't last as long as ours. We have Maytag Gold and my mama washes just about every day. Then he said he had to order the parts and it should be in within five to seven days, but with the virus, things have been being backed up.
Before, I didn't know which one to go with. I looked at the other company and it said I'd get one month free and it was a little bit cheaper than this one. But then my cousin has used American Home Shield and it was no problem at all. I got them and I was really impressed. It was excellent. Except, somebody had called and they sounded like a foreigner. They said I had to put in a deposit of $150 or something. I was sleeping and I just said to go ahead and put it on my account. Then I called when I was fully awake and the lady said that nobody should have collected that. I told her that it was not on my bank statement 'cause I checked it. Overall, I was very satisfied with American Shield.

All of our outlets on a kitchen island, including the one our oven is plugged into, stopped working. The guy solved the issue. It had to do with one of the outlets. The wires were packed in there pretty tight so it had shorted. For that claim, the guy was able to come out pretty quick. He called on a Monday and came out on a Tuesday. We've been dealing with an issue with our dishwasher and when I first called on a Monday, American Home Shield wasn't able to send anybody till Saturday. The person came out and decided we needed a part. The part has been ordered and it was supposed to be three to five days. But it's now Friday and I don't think the part has come in yet. They haven't called to schedule a follow up so our dishwasher is still not working.
The website is easy to work with and everybody's been polite and professional. I’ve been submitting the form online then someone calls me the next day to schedule the appointment. That works fairly well for me. But I don't know the difference with getting the dishwasher scheduled versus the electrician scheduled. I would prefer if someone can come sooner than a week.

American Home Shield's website was nice and submitting my claim was easy to do. I was able to pay my deductible online and they immediately had someone come out. I was told which contractor was going to come out and that the contractor would contact me before coming. Myers Comfort Specialist of Montgomery contacted me. They came and did preventative maintenance screening for us and the tech was really informative. He wore his protective mask the entire time he was doing the work. He did checks, gave me an invoice and he was gone. American Home Shield has been very fast and efficient in taking care of my needs. Prior to having my water heater checked, I had a leak in my water heater. Again, I did the online process for that and immediately AHS had someone provide service and do what I needed to be done.

I was impressed that it wasn't a hassle to change my claim with American Home Shield. At first, I thought the issue was with the air conditioner but it wasn't. Every time one of my friends gets a house or even just does something with their house, I say, "Go to American Home Shield and start paying for a home warranty. They'll definitely help you." I also advise people to make sure that the warranty is gonna cover all the appliances that they want it to. In the very beginning, we made a mistake. We didn't have something covered, but then we fixed it and upgraded our plan to cover everything. If anything ever breaks, we don't have to worry about replacing it. We can just put in a ticket.
Every once in a while, there's a miscommunication between American Home Shield and who they contract out, but that's usually very fixable. We've never had any major problems. Submitting claims is a very simple and easy process, and I can normally get somebody scheduled to come out within a week to take a look. Recently, we had a problem with our dishwasher. The lights would come on, but it wouldn't start. The GE guy came, figured out what was wrong with it and ordered the part. As soon as it was delivered to our house, he came right back out and put the part in. Now, it's working.

The hot water heater stopped working. I was taking a shower and it started getting cold. I kept turning the hot water up and it kept going down. After I got done taking a shower, I went and checked the hot water heater and the hot water in the kitchen wasn't coming out hot. I went out and checked that the thing wasn't burning. I called American Home Shield to do a claim, and it was quite easy. I was told to expect the contractor out in 24 to 48 hours. It’s a long time to do without hot water.
The contracting company sent me a text the morning of and talked the day before and the tech said he'd be here on this day between 12:00 and 4:00. When he he was here, we talked while he was doing the work. The issue ended up being a thermocouple. He took it apart, got in there and looked at it. In the old days, I could have lit the pilot light, but you can't do that anymore. He got in there and checked the pilot light and said, "The thermocouple is not working." He replaced it. It was good.
I get the feeling sometimes when I've made the services that American Home Shield doesn't have enough people on contract. When I made the call out, they said they'd be here in like 24 to 48 hours. They came out within 48 hours after the thing went out. This guy had other work to do too. He wasn't sitting at his desk just waiting for a phone call from AHS.

My most recent claim to American Home Shield is for the repair of my heater, and I'm still waiting on the refrigerator to be repaired. The refrigerator has been an ongoing project and it's taking forever. I am not happy about that because I don't have a refrigerator right now. This is weeks. The part came in last week, and the company that's doing it could not send their guy to my house until tomorrow from last week. So, when I first contracted with American Home Shield, I didn't realize that if I do have a problem, it's gonna take them possibly weeks to even get someone out and get a part. They're trying to tell me it's because of COVID, but it's taking forever.
The company they contracted with only has one guy that can do this job. So, he couldn't come until Friday. If I was doing it on my own without the warranty, I would just call the best company right in my area who would absolutely have done it before now. But because I have the warranty, I had to wait. I haven't had a lot of repairs. I've had this refrigerator stop working. Then, a couple days later, my heater stopped working. But that guy who came for it was fabulous. He fixed it yesterday and it's good to go. I do get a hold of American Home Shield, and they do email me right away. They are good. It's just that they have to contract people, and they need to figure out who they're using.

When we turned our heater on last week, it didn't work. We called American Home Shield again because the heat didn't work. When the guy came out here, he said the reason it didn't work is they put in a cheap motor blower and they didn't put it in correctly. I don't think we should've had to pay the $100 fee for someone. It's not American Home Shield's fault. They shouldn't have to pay it either. The people who did the job did a crappy job, and that was the cause of the heater not working. With the exception of the AC, American Home Shield has done a bang-up job. It's just that the cause of the heater going out was the fact that it was put in incorrectly. We were just thinking it seems fair that we should get the $100 back since the company they hired screwed up. The workmanship was shoddy. American Home Shield really has done an awesome job and it's not their fault they did a bad job. I just don't feel we should have to pay that $100.

They would send us an email with who we could reach out to and a lot of times we couldn't even get ahold of anybody. We needed something to be repaired and it could take a week to reach someone. On the other hand, American Home Shield's overall service is okay. Submitting a claim was easy.
Gilmore's Home Solutions came out for a claim. I was given a call when he was on his way there so I could reach out to my cousin and let him know. I got to see the tech briefly because I had a doctor's appointment. When I was pulling in on my street, he was getting ready to pull off. We pulled up beside each other and spoke. He was pleasant and he explained to me what was wrong. He was prompt too. It was a really good experience.
The only issue I had with American Home Shield was when I was trying to explain what was going on with my refrigerator. There's a language barrier when I'm speaking to the people. There was a guy that came out who said he had in his notes that he was coming to repair two refrigerators. I told him no and I had to continue explaining what the issue was. When I called American Home Shield, the first plumbing company that they sent said that it wasn't a leak. The tech came late and he was rushing to go to another job. So he didn't follow protocol. He never tried looking for the leak. He didn’t even turn the water on. He said the leak was coming from the bathtub. But I never heard of that a day in my life. I’ve been dealing with a plumber so what he said didn't mean sense. He said that he could put a whole bathtub in, so he was trying to get business for himself. I called American Home Shield and I told them what happened. They said I have rights to another opinion. My husband said he wanna get somebody else and try to find out what was really going on and what kinda leak. It was getting worse and worse and worse. We told American Home Shield that we needed to get another plumber and they did. The plumber found a leak and they fixed it. Everything went good.
When I called and told the guy about the referral, I don't remember him telling me that I had seven days to do it. So we had to call the supervisors and they said, “Well, it's been since October 20th since you put in the claim. And usually, we don't go so long.” My husband talked to another department. When he talked to them and put in a claim, they said if the new person comes out and they say the same thing as the other plumber said, then we have to pay $100. But if they don't, then we don't have to pay anything.

I'm happy with American Home Shield. They have been good and I just recommended them over the weekend to a friend of mine. A year and a half ago, my air conditioner went out. I called them and their contractor came. They were prompt and the guy was very honest. Instead of saying I needed a whole new air conditioning unit, he said the issue was simple and he fixed it. That was really good because it was like a gazillion degrees outside and about that hot inside my house. He took care of it very timely.
I was having trouble with my garbage disposal so I went online to schedule a contractor to come out and look at it. They asked, “Have you come up with a prompt? Have you look at the YouTube videos? Have you tried to solve this yourself?” I went in and watched the YouTube video and in five minutes, I'd solved the problem. I was really thankful that they gave me that option instead of saying, “We'll come out and charge you the 75 bucks and fix it in two minutes.” That was really good service, too. Recently, a contractor came out and did my annual checkup on my furnace. The technician that came out was very thorough. It was a good experience.

The motherboard of my heating furnace burned out. MS Services handled my claim professionally. They gave me a good root cause analysis and it turned out that it was a different problem from what I had fixed before. The drain piece was clogged which caused water to flow into the circuit board and damage it. I understood how the problem happened and how to prevent it from happening again. This has been a seamless experience and having AHS's coverage has worked out well for me. They should encourage real estate agents to throw in their coverage as part of closing to protect new home buyers. That can at least let home buyers see the warranty working which is when they will understand the value of it.
I am happy that you were happy with your experience. Although we hope there are no issues with anything in the home in the future, we are here to service you anytime you need us. Thanks for continuing your business with us. Take care!

It’s very easy to submit a claim to American Home Shield. I called, they set up an appointment and they had somebody out right away. I had a leak in a pipe in my laundry room. It was clogged but it’s not leaking anymore. He contractor was in and out. The repair didn't take long at all and we didn't have any issues. I'm glad I have the service with AHS although some things weren't covered such as the electrical stuff. But I had a fantastic experience. I will continue to use them and I would recommend them.

I found American Home Shield on the internet and it’s probably been a year since I went with them. I’ve had one bad experience with them but everything else has been good. The air conditioner went out so they sent a contractor, which was great. They were very timely and they fixed it. But the next day, the AC wasn’t working. So, I called again and the guy was rescheduled to come back. The guy said that they couldn’t fix it and I might as well put in a new furnace, which cost me $1000. And then, they fixed the air conditioner. But it still didn’t work a day later. I called again and they did something to it and it worked for about five days. It didn’t work again.
I called AHS and they charged me another service fee to fix my air conditioner again. I spent about over two hours on the phone with them and I couldn’t get them to fix my air conditioner without a second service fee. It was never fixed in the first place so they were only supposed to include one service fee of $100. I had to pay $200 to get the same problem fixed that was supposed to have been fixed the first time. By the time we got the air conditioner fixed, the hot weather was already over.
American Home Shield was doing good until then and having to charge me another service fee for the same issue was the only problem I had with them. I still haven’t had that one resolved yet. I’ve written a personal letter to them, which they didn’t respond to. I called three times and spent over two hours on the phone. The second time, they said they would take care of it and I wouldn’t have a service fee, and I still did. They don’t have an email address where you can email them so you kinda call them on the phone and you have to wait a long time to get a hold of them.
I don’t know why they can’t rectify it and why they don’t contact me about it. 100 bucks is 100 bucks. It’d be nice if there was an easier contact where we didn’t have to wait on the phone a long time and since AHS has a website, they should have an email address. And they don’t. That would be a great improvement for their company and it would be more customer-friendly that way, especially since a lot of people are using emails now than ever before.

American Home Shield sent JNJ Pools for a split in the bottom part of the housing for the filter. The tech came out and he pulled it apart. He said, “Well, you got new filters inside there. So, yeah.” He said, normally, they're not as good a shape. But apparently, he said it looked like my top part have been replaced a couple times, but not the bottom part. Wear and tear was the issue and he fixed it. It was pretty quick, simple and easy.
American Home Shield's claim process depends on what the problem is. There's certain things that's not covered that you don't find out until later, but we've kind of already learned all that. But as far as the pool goes and stuff of that nature, it's pretty easy. The JNJ pool people they sent this time was better than the company they used to have.

The service contractor came out pretty quickly for our backed up sewer and he appeared to unclog the drains, which I thought was good at the time. But the next morning, when we took a shower, water backed up in the bathtub. I called American Home Shield to say the tech needs to come back. They looked and they said that the claim had been rejected because the plumber said that the cause of the blockage was baby wipes and they don't cover baby wipes. It was not normal wear and tear. I asked where it says in the contract that we can't use baby wipes, which on the container says are flushable, and they could not tell me where it said that but they said they were not covering it. I'm very dissatisfied with American Home Shield. It seems like every time I call, I have a hassle.

I had somebody take a look at my refrigerator and they said the problem was my fault 'cause I had too much product in the freezer and those were in the way of the fan. My son suggested that I get American Home Shield's warranty 'cause he has it in Florida and uses it all the time. So, I called AHS for the refrigerator. The tech was on time. He kept distance for COVID and he had gloves on. He knew what the problem was and fixed it. He said that I needed a new fan and he put a new one in. It has been working perfectly since then. Also, I had a second claim to get both my furnaces prepared for winter. They have been perfect since the tech came.
I would definitely recommend American Home Shield. Usually, it takes a week to get somebody out to fix something and when they come, they have an attitude. All of the gentlemen sent by AHS have been very professional. I felt safe and comfortable with them. My husband is quite elderly, and so I take care of everything. The contractor came out to fix my dishwasher. Originally, it took a little while to get scheduled and there were some communication issues, but they got me in. Then they had to come back because the first repairman left the part that we needed. So I had to wait an additional couple of days before they fixed it. When they did send someone back, he said that the part didn't need to be replaced, but rather it was a piece of glass blocking the line. So he took that out and replaced the part, but didn't get the chance to test it before he left. So it still wasn't working. They called me to make a follow-up visit and they came out and they had to replace the motor. So then, we had to wait another two weeks for that. But I understand that due to COVID. The most recent repairman was excellent. He did a great job. He was very professional and polite. He worked quickly. The dishwasher is working great now. But it took about a month to get it all resolved.

Majority of our problems have been with our air conditioner and it has taken anywhere from three to five days to get someone out on each of those occasions, which is a long time to be without air conditioning. So, I find that a bit frustrating. But once someone gets out, the process has been fairly trouble-free. The rep from Advantage Refrigeration & Air was the best yet. I was able to call their office directly and get ahold of someone, which is almost impossible most places. They squeezed it in quickly and then, they repaired the AC the next day with a spare part they had on hand instead of waiting for the actual part to come in. So, that was wonderful.
How beneficial American Home Shield is depends on your needs. If you have an air conditioner that continues to have problems like ours does, it makes sense to have a home warranty company. But there are so many drawbacks for every pro such as waiting on hold for hours. AHS needs more customer service reps. But overall, we've had a good experience with American Home Shield.

He was a very polite young man. I've had no problems with American Home Shield. But I had a problem with one company they sent to install the water heater.
I have very limited space where the furnace, the water heater, and the water softener are. Before, the water heater was a little bit further from the furnace. But the tech who came put the water heater too close to the furnace instead of putting it where it was before. He said this was the way it had to be. But this move made it harder for the furnace man to do his job. I sent AHS a text about this but nobody replied. Other than that one experience, AHS has really done their job. As far as the contract is concerned, they've always helped me out with the companies. If I had a problem, they got a company and I had repairs.

Plymwr Plumbing was on time and they were efficient. They did a good job. Today, I called American Home Shield about something else and it was impossible. I was speaking with someone in the Philippines and all she kept doing was reading the contract, which I haven't even gotten a copy yet because it's a new policy. Then she said, “Well, I can send you to somebody else. But you're not covered on this, but we can add it to your policy.” She went round and round and I asked if I could talk to a supervisor, but she wouldn't let me. It was absolutely ridiculous. If you ask for a supervisor, then somebody should give you the opportunity to talk to one. I also asked if the representative was in the United States and she said, “No.” I told her that I would like to speak to someone in the United States. She said she couldn't do that and that she didn't have the ability to transfer me.
They said I could talk to somebody about adding something on. When I got the policy, they asked me if I had the salt water pool and I said yes. So I made the stupid assumption that the salt water would be included in the policy. They did not say it wasn't. But now they say I can upgrade it to a salt water policy. I'm not happy about it.

We were having trouble with one of the toilets and it has a history of not clearing over the last several weeks. We didn't know what the problem was. The guy with Bubba's Plumbing came out, looked at it, ran a snake down there and said he hit something. It's now flushing okay. He did a pretty good job. The problem was he never went outside to check the cleanout line. We had rain and ice buildup on our house and on the ground too. When the ice started melting, there was a crack in my key line out here in the cleanout. The plug on that cleanout was lost somehow. It was open. When the water was coming off the roof, it was filling up the line and backing up all the sewer from the street. It was going down my neighbor's driveway. We called back and said, "We need an emergency over here. We can't have this. I live in a country club." Even if I didn't live in a country club, we can't have sewer in the city running down into the street.
American Home Shield said that they would try to get somebody out there but couldn't. The lady that we called back to said that she called three other plumbing companies and nobody could come out. Bubba's couldn't get out here until the next day. I had to go call a plumber to get him out here to get this thing fixed. I had to pay him on top of Bubba's so it cost me another 140 bucks. I wouldn't have had to spend the extra $140 had the plumber gone outside and looked at the lawn. It didn't arbitrarily get cracked or dislodged by itself. It didn't do that from the time he left to the time he was gonna come back in two more days. Under emergency situations, there ought to be somebody that we could call. But overall, American Home Shield does a pretty good job.

Buster's tech knew exactly what was wrong with the washing machine and went back to get the part ordered. The first time he came out, he checked the code that the machine read and fixed that. He said it was all done, and left. He showed us that the machine was filling up and emptying out. But once we put the clothes in 30 minutes after he left, it started doing the same thing again. So, we called him back.
He came back with a new part. He took the machine apart, said it was the water hose and the pump, and he put in all new parts. He left again and everything seemed to be working. Within an hour after he left, the machine didn't work at all. He tried to see that it was going to work. And he said, "It's not this. It's not working at all." So, he said, "It looks like it's the computer board or something in the washing machine. We have to order that." He said because the machine is as old as it is, it may take longer or they may not even find the part. We were without the machine for almost two and a half months. I had to take clothes either to my daughter's house or to the laundry and pay someone to wash them. It was inconvenient, especially when you're working.
Other than that, Home Shield has always fixed everything that we've had to have fixed before, so there has never been a problem. The services are good and they do everything possible to fix whatever it is that you called for. What took so long on our recent claim was finding the part. They had to find it. A lot of stuff comes out of China, and with the COVID, they have to wait, and it goes through the process.

I had two back-to-back claims with American Home Shield. I did a claim for my dryer that was not working and I also had a winter tune-up for my furnace. When the contractor from Fick's was there, he was very nice. He answered the questions that I had. He did tell me that he was turning my gas with the temperature or the pressure. He was turning it down because I have too strong of a filter. He was saying the furnace was working too hard. It would shut itself down. He also said if I had any questions or any issues, to call him back.
That same day, I went out and asked the filter that he recommended me to get. It was in the price range that he said. They were at my home last Tuesday. This past weekend here in Maryland, it was cold and I had to turn my heat on. However, I had to turn my thermostat all the way up to properly heat my home. So I called American Home Shield and let them know what was going on. I also let them know that the guy was just out there and asked if he could come back because he said if I had any problems, to call him back.
They said they'd reach out to the contractor. They called the contractor and had the contactor to reach out to me. When I talked to the contractor, the lady at the office talked to the technician that was at my house and he said that if I wanted him to keep the temperature where it’s at, just turn my thermostat up which means I'm gonna have a higher gas and electric bill. If I wanted him to come back out to adjust my thermostat or to adjust the temperature or my furnace, then that was gonna be another service call. I was not happy with it.
When I called American Home Shield to tell them about it and what was going on, they said what I did was maintenance and not a service call so I would have to pay another $75 in order for Fick’s to come back out and fix my furnace to turn my temperature back up. I said, "It's unacceptable because you took my $75 in 2.5 seconds to even schedule the appointment and he told me that if I had a problem, to call him back. What happened to your 30-day rule?” They said the 30-day rule does not apply to tune-ups. I said, again, “Not acceptable. I need to speak with a supervisor.” This was two days ago and I still have yet to speak with a supervisor.
At this point, I'm getting a little pissed and a little perturbed in reference to that. I'm about to cancel my contract and go with another company. No one ever called me back and I should not have to call them back to properly answer my questions and tell me why. If the technician turned me down, why can't he come back and turn me back up or check and see.
For my dryer, they sent an appliance guy out. He said it was nothing for him to do. Something is going on with my electric. He was only getting 120 when he should be getting 240 and to call an electrician. I called American Home Shield back and they had an electrician to come out. He tested it and said, “You need to call your local gas and electric company. It's nothing that I can do to fix this. They're gonna have to fix this.” I called my local gas and electric. They came out the same day and fixed the problem.
Two days later, I called American Home Shield and said to roll my money over from the appliance side to the electrician because the appliance guy did not do anything. It was the same thing with the electrician. I should get my $75 back because the technician did not fix anything. He referred me because he could not fix the problem. They told me they're not refunding my $75 because the electrician completed the call by telling me to call PGE. So two things happened within the same day where I was not satisfied with the answer. That answer is ludicrous to me from American Home Shield.
I am not happy at all. I'm on my second year having them. I've made four calls to them and three of the four calls ended up bad. Earlier this year in June, I had another big episode issue with them in reference to my air conditioner. I would not recommend anybody to come to them because their customer service is horrible. I'm getting the problem fixed outside of them.

It was charged to us, but we still have yet to get re-contacted or receive that furnace inspection from the company. It's pushing a month at this point. It would really be awesome if they allowed the person to choose a vendor of their choice and have them approved through American Home Shield so that you feel a little bit more confident about what you're getting. It would be a really great way for clients to control a little bit more of the process for themselves. Because I know of a vendor that would've been able to get us in and finished by now. But we can't use them because we have to use whoever American Home Shield gives us.
We've also been in rodeo now with multiple refrigerator repair people, and our refrigerator is still not quite fixed. The refrigerator issues has been going on for quite some time. It's not to discredit of American Home Shield, but it's to the discredit of any manufacturer of LG appliances, because they're awful. Overall, we've been very pleased with what American Home Shield has given us and the information they've given us too. We're first-time homeowners, so the information that we've received from American Home Shield has been extremely helpful. Then they said that up in the unit, the drain was blocked, and they fixed that. Of course, it didn't go away again.
I called them the third time and they did a pretty thorough investigation of the unit. They found out that the unit had a leak in the refrigerant. When that happens, the cooling coils cool down considerably and they ice over and that's where the water was coming from. They called American Home Shield and American Home Shield authorized the changing out of my air conditioner and condenser. I was very pleased with the service I received both from American Home Shield and also from Interstate. There were a couple of service calls on my refrigerator too. I recommend American Home Shield very highly. I told my family and friends that they should put this policy on their house. It's about $100 a month and it's $100 deductible for a service call versus a 5,000 to $6,000 charge for an air conditioner.

I had an issue with my toilet. This particular contractor I used, Joy Plumbing, was extremely professional. As soon as they were assigned to me, I got a call within 30 minutes. We were able to schedule an appointment that fit my schedule. The person they sent out was professional. I explained my issue and he explained everything that he was gonna do. After he fixed the toilet, he stayed around for about 30 minutes because he wanted to do a dye test to make sure that everything was completed and fixed.
I’ve used American Home Shield for an electrical issue before. I do all my claims online and the process has always been pretty easy. Someone is always assigned immediately from them. Then it's up to the contracting company to get in contact with me. I happen to be working from home, so the process is going a lot faster now because the communication is coming directly from our cell phone. For the price that I pay monthly to American Home Shield, it's definitely worth it, especially if you own a home, because things happen. Prior to having them, I paid out of pocket for things that I need. The monthly cost than what I actually get when I do need them, in my opinion, is just worth it.

When the first guy came, we asked if he had done this kind of oven and he said that it was complicated I said that we had a one-time bad experience a long time ago and if he didn’t know how to fix it and it might get complicated, then somebody has to come. He said we should send somebody else. He looked like he was uncomfortable in working on it. So, we had to pay again to have another person come. The second person fixed the oven.
We’ve been with American Home Shield for about 20 years and this is the second time it has happened. There was another guy once who came for the refrigerator and he opened everything, and he didn't know how to fix it. AHS sent somebody else and when the guy came, he said that it was terrible the way that the other guy left the refrigerator because this wire was supposed to have a cover over it. There was none and it could have been connected and not just the refrigerator could have blown up but our home too. For high-end appliances, a good person should come so they know what they’re doing. The time that we have to spend to be home was a little bit harder but we’ve been happy with AHS.
I am happy that you were happy with your experience. Although we hope there are no issues with anything in the home in the future, we are here to service you anytime you need us. Thanks for continuing your business with us. Take care!

American Home Shield has been good so far. But the recording sometimes mixes things up when the recording goes on. When I called the plumber to double-check with him, I told him what I needed and not what the recording was saying. He said that he would have to call the company and get it changed. Big Orange Plumbing was only here for about 15 minutes and the cleanliness and everything were fine. The man took care of the job really well. He had a young man with him. He was teaching and he was showing the kid how to do it really well. However, my daughter had a serious problem with American Home Shield. They couldn't get the refrigerator fixed and they wouldn't compensate enough on it. But otherwise, I've had no problem at all myself.

We were having a problem with one, so we wanted to make sure that there was no threat of a fire or anything. The tech fixed that one and he explained everything. Then, he went through the whole house and checked all the heaters out to make sure they were perfectly safe. He said that they were good to go. He was very thorough and very courteous. We’re very happy with it. I have Home Shield too and I’m very happy with it, as far as being able to have something that covers appliances and things like that. I wasn't too happy with American Home Shield since it was $500 a year. Plus, anytime you have a service call, it was $125 and you didn't know whether they were going to fix something or replace it till after. I had it because I have an air conditioning but it only covers $1,500 towards a new air conditioner, so it didn't seem worth keeping it. I’ve only used it one other time and I have cancelled the service.

The technician for my washer was very professional, but I had one in the past that I didn't agree with. Early in the year, we had a situation where there were some problems with the plumbing in our house and the people that American Home Shield sent never even went in and inspected it. My husband was there. The guy went halfway under the house and said that the problem with the plumbing was not normal wear and tear. We don't go under the house and mess with anything. How was it not normal wear and tear? The contractor wrote up a report that caused us to not be covered. I was very upset about that.
I complained about it, but it didn't get resolved by American Home Shield. I had to get an independent contractor to come in and fix the pipe under my house that the AHS contractor said we messed up, and then they fixed the sewer problem. With the plumbing being connected to the sewer, American Home Shield covered the sewer (the damage that was done in my house), but not the plumbing. I thought that was a bit unfair. Other than that isolated incident, we've been pleased with the service. I still consider them fair and very responsive.

However, I don't like waiting on the phone for half an hour to speak to somebody at AHS. It doesn't matter what phone number I call. They've got umpteen different phone numbers to call. The last several times I've called, I've had to sit and wait for somebody to get on the line for almost half an hour. But other than that, when they get on the phone, I don't have any problem with them.

I always call in and they're prompt. In the past, I had an issue with the information on my account. There was one particular person that was very rude and I reported that. I've had two contractors come in back-to-back recently. I had one that came today for my dishwasher, and then I another one came in for my microwave. They were from two different companies but both servicemen were very professional. They checked both appliances. They spent a few minutes. They let me know that they were going to contact American Home Shield about repairing, and I've heard back from American Home Shield that my microwave has to be replaced. I'm waiting to hear back from the dishwasher because when the serviceman came out, he pulled everything out and he found out the leak had nothing to do with the dishwasher. So he reported it to American Home Shield. But he did find out the problem with the dishwasher.

My air conditioning unit that sits outside had a short, and Crispy Air & Heating came out in a timely manner and took care of the issue. I did two claims with American Home Shield at the same time. My hot water heater is rusting through. The contractor are coming out today, and that won't be good because they will not replace it today. They come out, they take pictures and send it to American Home Shield to determine next steps. That would be a negative experience.
I've had good and bad experiences with American Home Shield. I did have one other issue with my air conditioner. It was peak summer and they did not get somebody dispatched timely. The first technician they sent out looked at the air conditioner and said, “We don't work on these.” Then, I had to wait another two days. So, I waited four days in a 100+ degree heat. But in terms of Crispy Air, that was a very good experience. I've done claims both online and over the phone. The person I talked to was overseas. They struggled a little bit to understand my issue. That was on the first claim on the air conditioning unit. As far as the contractors, everyone's been friendly, respectful and when they knock at the door, they're wearing masks.

I was having a problem with my washer and I asked a friend what she does and who the people are that go there to see about her stuff. She said that she has American Home Shield. So, I got it because of her. I had an electrical problem with my dryer and American Home Shield sent an electrician to look at it. He was trying to explain everything. He was telling me what I need to have done. He needed to put a switch in it and he said he didn’t have one at the time. He wrote up a list of the things that was wrong with my fuse box but he didn't do anything to it. He said he had to call AHS back and he never came back.
I kept calling back but nobody would answer and it would go to voicemail. I was dissatisfied because he didn’t call me back nor did a follow up. He did not let me know if he was coming or not and I was sitting there not knowing what to do. I got somebody else to fix it. The electrical problem thing was not in my contract with AHS so I had to come out of pocket to fix and pay for it.

I went online to put in the claim to American Home Shield for the dishwasher which would turn on but wouldn't do anything after that. The site was easy to navigate but there was no place to put an explanation of what was exactly going on with the dishwasher. The options were broken or not turning on. Some of them applied to a certain extent but it didn’t let me explain. Then, when I got a confirmation, it said something about the replacement of my dishwasher. It didn't necessarily need to get replaced. Maybe it was something that wasn't working properly. The technician came out and he was able to fix it. So maybe it was the wording that was used that was a little bit confusing.
The technician listened to what I was telling him and I showed him what the dishwasher was doing as well as the noises that it was making when I turn the power on. He fixed the problem and when he left, the dishwasher was running through the cycle. When we opened the dishwasher to load some of our dishes, I realized the door wasn't opening properly. When I opened the dishwasher all the way down so that the bottom rack can roll on to the door, it made a pop and lifted a portion of the dishwasher up under the counter. Something was wrong with it and I didn’t know what was going on. My husband got under there and looked at it. He said a thing was on upside down.
When the technician removed the dishwasher out, he put one of the things on backwards so, my husband had to fix that. But it was an easy fix. There was a screw missing so he must have dropped a screw. My husband has extra screws downstairs so he was able to turn the little pad around and then screw it back in. The person who came in was very professional and he didn't leave a mess. Wherever there was water that spilt from the dishwasher, he wiped it right up. So all that was absolutely fine although I wish I didn't have to wait a whole week and a half before somebody came out. But with COVID, that's understandable. Things and stuff are limited.

We knew there was a problem at the gates. A few months ago, we called and said the furnace was not working. The guy double-checked it and he said everything was fine. Then, our heater stopped working, and it was our thermostat before we moved in the house. The guy just replaced it, and now, it was fixed. That’s $100, $100, $100 later, $300 when we have any third step. I've also called for a dryer and they said it was fine. It's nice to know if something really broke, American Home Shield would fix it. But I'm understanding that they don't replace anything.

I had a stopped up sink in my master bathroom. Hughes Plumbing came out and the tech was great. I could tell he was an older guy and he had been doing it for a while. I had a garbage disposal that he also looked at. Somebody else had looked at it before and told me I had to replace the whole thing and they would charge me $142, but the only thing in it was a penny. It was just something as simple as using a flashlight to look down in it. So, the guy did a great job. It was a great company to go with.
American Home Shield is awesome. It's a program that everybody should have because the furnaces, water heaters, and even the plumbing, are an expensive fix. I'm just paying $100 for contractors to come out. If I would've gone with a plumbing contractor, then they would charge me 142 just for the garbage disposal. That wasn't the clogged sink in my bathroom, which was a whole another $100-something. I would've been out of my pocket about 400 or 500 bucks.

American Home Shield is easy to use. It's easy to get on the website and put a claim in. I had two claims. One was for my icemaker that was overflowing. It wasn't shutting off so I was either getting no ice or a ton of ice. The other one was for the dishwasher. The control panel wasn't working. I couldn't turn it on. I went through American Home Shield's website on the first one then I called it in on the second one. The call in one was probably more difficult. I wanted the same guy to come out so it was suggested that I call in as opposed to going through the website. That same guy came out. He was very good. He answered any questions that I had like what should I be doing as preventative measures to keep things going. I ran the dishwasher once and it seems to be okay. They said that we had to be referred to somebody else and they would see if they could refer me ‘cause AHS hadn't done it.
The person from American Home Shield that I was talking to did not understand English. They did not understand refrigerator. They completely missed the fact that without a working refrigerator, being a diabetic on insulin, I had no place to put my insulin to keep it cold. Other than that, we were fine. The other company did great as far as cleanliness. I didn’t like the way the person on the phone acted. A-US was great. But what happened was, on the previous situation that we had with our gas, they didn't turn it back on. So, A-US Air came out and said they just didn't turn the gas back on. I haven't contacted American Home Shield for the $75 that we paid for for the contractor to come out. It wasn't really needing to be serviced. They just should have turned the gas back on when they turned it off because our oven gas was leaking.
In general, everything else with American Home Shield is fine. They usually get someone out. When I call, they schedule and someone comes out. It took them a long time to find something for my dryer when it had to be replaced but outside of that, they provided the service. They sent someone out. When the issue is something like your gas, they still keep it as a schedule. The only thing that I don't like is that if it's something like gas, it should be an emergency. But they don't make the service providers or the people that are actually coming out to put precedence over certain things. Maybe it's because the list that they already have is an emergency. The only thing that concerns me is when you have children or an elderly that's in the home, they don't have a system together to make it an emergency, where you take you take precedence over just complaints.
Also, this is not for American Home Shield per se, but there's a gap for other issues that happens in the house. So they may want to extend it for insurance on things that are not always appliances. Some people would pay for insurance for certain things like a hole in the wall or things of that nature. There's no one we can call that we know that we can trust. That could be another service that American Home Shield could provide. It will be something to protect your home because we don't trust just anyone coming in our home. American Home Shield will provide that kind of level of trust because they have contracts with these people. Everybody doesn't wanna hire just a random contractor. Overall, American Home Shield has been beneficial.

He was in and out within less than 30 minutes. This is the second or third year I've had American Home Shield and it's been great. I stay up on top of all my little preventative maintenance things.
Thanks for sharing your warranty experience. Please let us know if you need if you need assistance. Have an amazing week.

We've always had good service with any claim that we've done with American Home Shield. I called them when my refrigerator wasn't cooling down like it should. The claim process was very easy and I was told to expect someone in 24 hours. TN Appliance Exchange came out and they were fine. They checked the refrigerator to see what was needed. They ordered a part, came back, and put it together. They took care of the refrigerator and it's working just fine.
Thank you for sharing your recent experiences with us. We are happy that we were able to get the issue resolved for you and we look forward to our continued business together. Have a great day.

I lived in New Jersey and I bought a trailer. The people I bought the trailer from asked me if I wanted American Home Shield. I said fine and they showed me how much it was. I got it and I moved here September 29th so I’ve had them more than a month. When I had to submit a claim, I called up the people first and they said that I have to get ahold of AHS, which was what I did. It was easy and I was very happy the way everything turned out. I used the sprayer and the water wouldn't come out of the faucet. Then it started leaking underneath the sink. The contractor came out and they said that I was gonna need a new faucet. They had to return because they didn't have one and they had to order it. It was only a couple days and then they came right back. I was very happy with them.
I am happy that you were happy with your experience. Although we hope there are no issues with anything in the home in the future, we are here to service you anytime you need us. Thanks for continuing your business with us. Take care!

I submitted two claims at the same time. I did a phone call because I went online, I have two different accounts and apparently, one of them had expired, and one of them is getting expired till next February. Once I found the right one, then everything went smoothly. I've had a claim for my icemaker in my freezer. The guy came out and said I needed a part. He sent it to me. It was easy to install so it was taken care of very fast. The second one for the air conditioner is still pending. It's been two weeks since I heard from the guy. He said he'd be back with a part to install. I had to call him yesterday. They apologized and said the part was on backorder. But he’d come out Thursday to install it. So far, I've had some pretty simple procedures done and American Home Shield is excellent, very professional, and timely.
Hi Anthony,
We hope you continue to enjoy American Home Shield plan and the customer service we provide!

I called for an annual inspection. Home Guard came out and inspected it. They found nothing wrong with it. About a week later, the inducer motor started making noise. It's the actual motor that takes the exhaust that the furnace produces, and it sends it out the pipe. So I went down there and sat in front of the furnace until I heard it, making a noise and where it was coming from. Unfortunately, it was a weekend. So what ended up happening was, I called and I got the automated system of AHS. They said they were gonna send out a notice to the contractors. They gave me a telephone number for Home Guard.
Because we were freezing, it was the first very cold day that we had here, I called them offhand. Their answering machine was full and there was no person that answered. So I panicked. Then I tried to call AHS up and tell them specifically what the problem was and get a different company. When I called them, they also only had an answering machine.
So then Sunday morning came, Home Guard called me back on the first call. So I canceled the other one. Home Guard came in and they brought a new motor, and they changed it. It's been fine ever since. Once I got ahold of them, they performed excellently. They were professional. However, American Home Shield could set up some system for emergency calls, where they can let the supplier know it's an emergency. Also, I can't schedule things online with AHS. I have a problem with doing that. So I have to call in, and then I prompt the trigger system. But so far, they've really been good.
Thanks for letting us know everything worked out great for you. Taking care of our customers is the main goal here at AHS. I am glad that you were happy with the work done. We look forward to servicing you in the future as needed. Enjoy your day.

The claims process with American Home Shield is horrible. They will do anything to subvert having to pay for anything. My ice machine and my fridge were not working and they said they couldn’t fix it because they don't cover pulling the fridge out, which was ridiculous. It's just moving it four feet to get to the icemaker. I was even required to move the fridge to even do the inspection. But I like having them for the major stuff.

I had blockage in my kitchen sink along with the basement sink. They're all tied into one drain. I called up AHS on a Friday and they sent a plumber out very quickly. The plumber came out on Monday. He said he was going to rod the drain. He went in the basement and rodded for about 40 minutes and said that it was beyond him and that he couldn't get it. He told me I had to have it water jetted or some special process because rodding wa not working. Then Emergency Plumbing was contacted and they were gonna come out here and do the water jetting. The tech came out two days later on Wednesday and asked me what the issue was. I told him the issue and I showed it to him. He decided that he was going to rod again as well. It was the same thing as the first plumber did. About a half hour later, he fixed the problem. He pulled out a big clog and all was well.
It was a shame that he did the same process as the first guy did. I felt bad for two reasons. One is that I didn't have a drain for six days, and two is that AHS ended up paying for two plumbers to come out. They should've just called Emergency first and got the job done right the first time. Even though the first guy was really nice, he didn't get the job done. AHS performed so well with me. I got immediate reaction from them. When I called them to tell them about the situation, they apologized up and down for my inconvenience. I decided to also have them cover my condo that is in Scottsdale, Arizona. I just signed up for the condo yesterday.
Our main objective is to provide exceptional service and a quick resolution to all of your home warranty needs. Your feedback regarding your recent experiences with us is greatly appreciated. We look forward to servicing you in the future as needed. Take Care.

I called PG&E first ‘cause I thought it was a PG&E issue. They came out and told me I needed a new stove. I called my insurance and then the guy from P.G. Appliance came out quickly. It was the same day and he was on time and very professional. He was excellent. He had my oven working in 20 minutes and then, he was out of here. Great, fast, and in a hurry. He was very knowledgeable and he did what he needed to do. I asked him what was under the stove and he said my stove was very clean.
Within the 20 minutes, he had his mask on, I had mine, and we stayed six feet away. He also wrote down the issue with stove. Where you light the pilot was out and that little thing needed to be replaced. I was very satisfied with this contractor. I had issues with others though. I've had my air conditioning done three times, and that's ridiculous. I'll get them out again the fourth time for my air conditioning. I recommended American Home Shield to my daughter and my daughter has it now, but I would not recommend it to anybody else. Nothing's been 100%.
