I did a service request for the heater that wasn't kicking on right. The same day, I got a phone call and the following day, the guy was out at my house. He was excellent and very professional. He explained what was wrong to me. He had the part on his truck so he fixed it right there on the spot. I've had other home warranty companies before and they were a lot slower in response time. American Home Shield definitely picked up the pace. This was my first time using them so I was very impressed. They've been great. I've already recommended them to my daughter and she's using them now too.

My dryer wasn't getting hot. I called the number and put the claim in with AHS. It was easy and pretty simple. The rep took all my information and told me what I had to do. She also told me that the tech would give me a call within 24 hours and that if he didn't, she gave me his name and number and said to call him. When he came for the service, he was in and out within about 15 minutes. He told me he would be here by 1 o’clock and before 1:30 he was done. Since he came out, everything has been working perfectly and I haven't had any problem. All in all, I was really impressed with American Home Shield. At first, I wasn't really sure about them because I saw a couple of bad reviews. But the lady that I talked to was really friendly on the phone. She answered all my questions and walked me through everything.

American Home Shield was good. I'm glad I have it. I told American Home Shield what was going on and they facilitated having someone come out and take a look. They let me know what cost was on my end and they kept me in the loop regarding appointment dates. It was a pretty easy process. Their contractors were great. They were mindful of not making a mess. They worked on a water heater and some water leaked and they offered to clean it up. But I told him not to worry about it 'cause it was inevitable. They were quick and professional. I liked them.

I went online and submitted a request for service for my dishwasher that wasn't coming on. I did the claim with American Home Shield late on a Friday and I got an email letting me know that they had contacted Bradley Appliance Repair. I figured that because it was coming up on the weekend, I wouldn't get a response. I ended up getting a response on Monday morning and having the service scheduled for that same day. Bradley came out but had to order a part and that took a week. They explained to me how they ordered the part then having to wait to get it to be shipped. Once they got the part in, it went fine. A tech came either that day or the next day that it was delivered and installed it. My dishwasher has been working fine since then.

When I bought the house, the seller paid for the first year of the warranty with AHS and I chose to keep it because it's an older house and things happen in older houses. So far, it's been well worth the cost and AHS has been really good to me. But I wish they would cover a few more things and that the prices were a little less. Recently, I had a clog. The things were not exiting my house as they were supposed to and were backing up into my bathtub. Fix It Services came out really quickly and was in our house within a couple of hours. They were amazing and I love them. The claims process of AHS was also really simple. All in all, I've told everybody that I know that's buying a house, especially if it's an older house, to get a home warranty. It's the best money you'll ever spend.

Something went wrong in the garage starting with the pipes with the washing machine. It flooded a part of our garage, so we had to repair it. The whole process of putting a claim through the website was great. It immediately put who the company was and told me what time they'd open and that they would contact me. If not, it said that I could contact them. But they contacted me early that morning so it worked perfectly really.

The guy came out and explained what he was doing. He repaired what was done to the appliance. I was very pleased. Then, he came back later to patch up the drywall that he had to cut through. Everything in there is working as it should just like it was before. Overall, the process was very professional, proficient and punctual. The time that the contractor said it would be done, The job was done at the time that the contractor said that it would be done. I didn't have to take any extra days off work, like I had to do for some other places.

Everything started breaking down and it’s one time. The top of the oven has been working for a good while but the lower part of the oven was still working like a Dutch oven. We needed to get that fixed, so we finally did that. It took a little while for American Home Shield to get the order for the part ready to bring here, since it was an older oven. But they did good with the dishwasher and my air conditioner. The breaker had tripped and I couldn't get it to stay over and being the breaker box, I didn't want to mess with it too much. So, I called them to have someone come out and look at it. The technician pushed it over and it stayed, and it has been working ever since. Then my heater didn't work so the contractor came out, put in a new thermostat and it's been working good. Now, I need to work on the toilet that wouldn't flush. Everything has been great with American Home Shield. I had somebody out here very shortly with air conditioner and the heater.

I've had DC Appliance Repairs out twice. I've had back-to-back claims for the dishwasher and they were out here on this last one for the microwave. They were awesome. They found a secondary problem that they went out of their way to fix. They're gonna come back and fix that even though the claim's closed with my agreeance for them to go out and pay their own money to get that fixed. They were quick and efficient. American Home Shield has saved me a ton of money. We bought a big house and they had a lot of really nice appliances. For some crazy reason, almost all of them have failed. We've probably had American Home Shield out eight or nine times and every time, we've walked away with either a fix or a new appliance.

I signed up for a recommended inspection of our heater with American Home Shield. After they contacted me by email to let me know who the provider handling the deal would be, I got a call from American Home Shield. They followed up telling me that they wanna make sure that I honor my appointment and that Northwind Heating and Air would be coming. The tech was professional right off the jump. I've had multiple plans over 73 years and somebody has tried to take advantage but the guy from Northwind never did.

I had the same experience with the guys that checked my air conditioner. They came out and told me that they would love to sell me something but I didn't need anything. That inspired confidence in their service for me. I've been in my house for 16 years and I have never had the heater checked. It was way overdue and it was nice that AHS suggested a recommended inspection, offered a reasonable rate, and sent a quality provider. I was very impressed.

They said the part from the faucet got caught in the disposal, and that's why the garbage disposal was acting like that and sounding that way. The technician repaired both issues and they're working fine. AHS also came out for my refrigerator today and everything went well. Like with the other claim, the contractor fixed the problem there and answered the questions that needed to be answered. One of the vents of my refrigerator was constantly freezing over and when that happened, it would cause the refrigerator to warm up. I contacted American Home Shield like normal. I've had pretty decent services. There were only a couple of times where I had an issue with American Home Shield directly. In this instance with my refrigerator, I set up an appointment via the app. Somebody contacted me and a serviceman came out. The technician took a look at the refrigerator, and he knew exactly what the issue was. They were gonna order parts and were gonna do X, Y, and Z. Once they get everything situated and try to see if that works everything out, they would move forward as soon as the request was approved by American Home Shield.

This was the second time that the same technician came out. The first time he came out, he unthawed the vent, tried a couple of things then said we would see how that worked. We let that roll for about a month or so. But the vent kept freezing over so we called him back. What ended up happening was the request sat in approval status from American Home Shield for a month. Our refrigerator had to be defrosted at least once a week. It didn't necessarily put our lives in danger because knew the pattern at that point. But it was inconvenient.

We also never received any communication from American Home Shield about where things were and what was going on. I would've preferred to have more of a point of contact. If the parts on backorder were due to COVID or the service technician was available, they should have let me know. Once the request was approved a month later, the technician came back and completed the repair. We haven't had any issues with our refrigerator.

With the way that stuff in the house are designed and with how they work, the layman can't fix those stuff anymore. I'm not even gonna change out a light switch. I don't know how. With how sophisticated all these technologies are and the level of diagnostic stuff that real certified technicians have, you'll spend an arm and a leg if you try to do that on your own. But with a service like American Home Shield, you're paying out of pocket a monthly nominal charge. But if something big breaks down, you're covered. You know you're gonna have somebody, who is an expert and who has good ratings, come out and take care of the issue.

This is the first house we've owned in 2008 and when we bought it, American Home Shield was included. We stayed in that house for 12 years and every year without fail, we continued the contract because we found it so beneficial. They have been pretty good. But there were a couple of times in the past where we contacted American Home Shield and assigned a person who never showed up or never made contact. I had to call them in order to get the ball rolling. Two or three years ago, a lot of the different contractors just disappeared. American Home Shield may have severed ties with the folks who had bad ratings or bad reviews. Since then, there were no major issues.

The DMV tech was very professional. He assessed the problem immediately and talked about the options that were available to me, and then went ahead and tackled the problem. I had two problems to address and he was done within about half an hour to 45 minutes. So it went very quickly. He was able to solve both problems.

I've had the service with American Home Shield for about 3 years and it has worked when I've needed it. But I need to reach out to them because I scheduled the preseason heat check and the company that was assigned to me was supposed to come out last week. Their technician got sick so they had to cancel. That technician was supposed to come back out this Monday but he never came and I never got a phone call. I waited a couple of days and the fee was already taken. I either need a refund or another contractor. But usually, in a case like this, they address it immediately. So it’s been a positive experience. They have always been very responsive. The technicians that have come out were able to either fix the issue or let me know what was wrong, and whether or not I needed to escalate the problem.

I go online and I can just put in my information and grab my details. For a lot of sites, you have to go use your password and this and that. If you forget the password, you got to go through a long reset process. I get around all that just by putting in my address. I also like the fact that if I so choose, I can give my renter access to do everything on their own. That's a plus.

We had an error message on our thermostat. It said something about the wiring was messed up. It's the Nest thermostat, so it tells you kinda, “Get on the internet, dot this, do that, do that.” Nothing worked. So, just for the furnace, my wife did the claim to American Home Shield online, and within a day, we had a call and a scheduled appointment.

The guy who came was really nice. He called the morning of and said he could be here early if we wanted, but we had already kinda set our day up. We ended up meeting at the normal time. I was out-of-town, so he met with my wife. He fixed it. He checked all the wiring and all the coils. But ultimately, he just had to tighten some stuff up, and everything is working. They were great.

We've always had good experiences. We've had multiple conversations about our cooktop with them. We had them out and they fixed it on. We had American Home Shield when we lived in Memphis, Tennessee, and they were great. We actually got a new water heater they replaced a while back. So, we've always enjoyed using them.

I called American Home Shield because I had a leak. There was water under the sink. They submitted the deal and I got a call from the plumber. They set up a time and out they came. They've been good. They're always timely and professional. They've been out here two other times. One was on me and one was on American Home Shield.

Since I didn't know what was leaking and I couldn't figure out underneath the sink which valve to turn off because there's a filtration system under there, I just shut off the water of the house. I needed them to call me back so I could figure out what was going on here and get the water back in the house. It took a long time to get a call back from them. I don't know how American Home Shield notifies them. A couple other times I was getting a callback, not with them but in general where I had something going on, it seemed like a long time before they called and set up the appointment. Other than that, it was good.

American Home Shield is worth it. I have a $75 call-out fee. But if I didn't call out and we had the plumbing company come out and fix it, it would have been at least $75. I do get a quicker response too. I have an electrical box I have to put in to put in a new microwave based on code going up. I've been trying to get an electrician out for four days. But if I called American Home Shield with an electrical problem, I get an electrician out within a day.

I very highly recommend American Home Shield and Fidelity. I have seven homes and we have contracts on all of them. American Home Shield has four of them. In our La Quinta home, we have a dual compressor system out there. Within a year, both those compressors needed to be replaced which would have been at least a $7,000 or $8,000 job, or maybe 10,000 for us if we'd had to do it on our own. For that one call-out, thank God I have American Home Shield. We've had it on La Quinta for like 12 years and it's $650 or $700 now a year. Everything I’ve probably paid them for the whole contract on La Quinta, I got back all for that.

My home is relatively new and I have three AC units. Service Contractors of Texas came out to address an issue because the unit that controls my upstairs temperature quit functioning. They replaced a relay switch and said that that was fine, which it seemed to make it fine. Two days later, there was no AC at all. It was just blowing warm air. Their tech came back out and said it looked like it was a freon issue. He tracked the freon issue and said that it was a bad coil.

I told him it was odd that the first issue was a relay switch that they replaced then everything was functioning. Then, all of a sudden, the coil blew after that. He left because he said he needed different parts in order to fix the issue. When he came back, he said not only did it need a coil, but it needed a bunch of other things. He said it was $1,000 worth of non-coverable items. He also said that the unit that was installed for the upstairs, they didn't install the right pressure so that caused that coil to create a leak.

In terms of the stuff that he listed, all three units were put together in the same way. All three units have the same overflow drain, P-Trap, etc. It felt like they were just adding cost to me. They wanna charge $340 in mastic which is like caulk. The mastic goes around the edge of your pool. It's that soft material that goes between the tile and the pool decking. A couple years ago, I had the entire mastic around my entire pool redone and part labor and material was $240. I can't imagine that they need more caulk than you need for a pool. I tried talking to two individuals at American Home Shield then it got listed as the air conditioning was out of code. I said that it didn't make any sense because it's not like this house was built in the 70s or 80s or 90s so the codes haven't changed for air conditioning that much in the last 15 or 20 years. I challenged them on it and they said that's the code that the company sent so I called the company.

When I called the company, I asked, "Can you explain to me why these are listed as code violations? That doesn't make any sense when my other two units are up to code. The same company when the house was built in the year 2000 put in all three units. You're saying this one isn't somehow up to code and now it needs all these code changes?" They said to go to their site and look up all the code changes and see which ones match what they listed on my invoice. I said I was not gonna go onto their site or onto a governmental site and try to weed through all that to see if I could match which ones are really code violations and which ones aren't. I asked to speak to the owner. They said he was at lunch and he'd call me right back. This was on Friday. They called me back Friday afternoon to tell me he was not gonna be in and he'd call me Monday. On Monday, I called and asked what was going on and they said the owner was still out.

I called American Home Shield and what they told me was that I would have to pay $70 if it wasn't a different diagnosis. I was trying to confirm if all this other stuff that they've put on it for me to pay was accurate. If another AC company comes out and says I just need the coil replaced and everything else is fine, that to me is a different diagnosis. The guy on the phone who didn't speak great English got all confused. I said if it truly is broken, it's because it wasn't installed when they put in the original unit. That's not a 'code violation' is it?" No one at American Home Shield or at Service Contractors could explain it. The owner, all of a sudden, disappeared and won't call me back. I had a second company come out and they confirmed that the first company was accurate. So, American Home Shield to date has done an adequate job in satisfying my concerns. I'm not quite done with this whole process yet but they certainly have dispelled any significant concerns that I had.

The only thing that I forgot to tell him is that the light underneath doesn't work. That wasn't working at all before he came in and changed it, but my microwave itself works great now.

The guy also gave me some advice on my dishwasher and all the other appliances. He was a great guy. He was respectful, and he was professional at what he was doing. I like how he does business. That's the first claim I had with my insurance, and it was a great experience on my end. American Home Shield gets right on top of what you need to be done, and I like it so far.

Submitting a service request is a simple process but my experience this year was extremely different than last year. AHS is more expedient as far as customer service. But if they go up more on the $100 fee, I would drop them. They need to figure out ways to keep that affordable. AHS is worth it, as long as the membership fees are affordable and fair. I was having issues with my sockets and the GFI not working properly and the tech from Jireh Electric who came out was exceptional in how he handled my service requests.

We just purchased a new house. About a week after we moved in, our dishwasher stopped working. I went on to the American Home Shield website and indicated that we had a claim. It was a very easy website and a very simple process. Someone contacted me the next day, even though it was a weekend, and set up an appointment. They were great. They were able to come out quickly and it was on the day when they had said they would. The tech was friendly and professional. That person wore a mask coming in and quickly identified and corrected the problem. The entire interaction was less than half an hour. The tech fixed the dishwasher in the first service. I was very impressed. That person was very professional and competent. The whole process was really very easy for us as the consumer. We had a very good experience. Based on this interaction, we would highly recommend American Home Shield.

I was angry with them because the same thing keeps happening with my air conditioning. Right now, the heat is working and they’re supposed to be putting new parts on it. But when it comes time for the air conditioner to come on, it always goes out. We got to put it back in again. I was thinking about leaving them, but I’ve been with them so long.

It was in a reasonable time. They were polite. I've no complaints on their service and conduct.

I also had a repair done as we had a leak and they soldered the copper pipe. Everything is working out okay for the most part. There is some water that I've noticed coming out of another part. I thought it was something residual from the tech working but then I noticed more of it this past week so I'm trying to monitor that to see if we need to have them come back out.

Last year, I had a claim for the air conditioner and that worked out well too, so it's been good.

I lived in one house for 40 years, so I knew all my appliances. I moved in here and I didn't know any of them. So, it gave me the security to know that it would be taken care of. So, I'm pleased with AHS. It was a very good experience and I would recommend them, especially if they’re moving into a new house and they don't know their appliances unless the person selling it has a guarantee on them. We had properties before and I didn't know about it. I would’ve had it on the rental properties.

1st Call serviced two appliances. My door handle had fallen off, and they were able to put that back on. A piece had come loose in my dishwasher that they were able to secure. Then the dishwasher wasn't washing properly, but they think that that had an issue to do with the piece that was loose. Ever since the repair, I haven't had any issues. There were two gentlemen that had on a mask. I had my mask on too. They've been to my house prior during the pandemic. They're very professional and are mindful of what's going on with the coronavirus.

Overall, American Home Shield offered the best package for coverage and price. It's pretty seamless to request for service. I've done claims both online and over the phone. The only issue is that I've had to call the places that they subcontract out to come out and look at the place as the subcontractor doesn't always follow up right away. But I don't think Home Shield really have control over that. It all depends on what the subcontractor's availability for staff to follow up with clients.

Two gentlemen from Sage came out and they were very professional. They came out to assess it and see what the issue was. The tech identified the issue that it needed to be replaced because it was leaking water. It has damaged tiles on the floor. Some of the tiles were lifting because it was so much water.

The only thing that I was not happy about was the fact that I had to pay out of pocket expenses even when we have a coverage because they had to install a pan and a little smaller tank above my water tank. I had to pay $400 just for that drain and that other little small tank that they had. But I did save a ton and at the end of the day, the water tank got in and we have hot water. The Shining Plumbing Knights tech showed up early. He called and said he finished his prior job and asked if it was okay to come. He was in and out and I love that. He's very courteous. He educated us on a few things that we were doing wrong and he put out. I ended up knowing him from school in Oakland, but couldn't tell because of the mask. It wasn't until he walked out and I said, "Wow, your voice kinda sounds familiar," and he talked on and so forth and, "Yeah, the one I went to school with years ago."

On the other hand, I am getting the runaround for the AC. The last contractor that Home Shield sent out said that we needed to get a junction box put on the air conditioner. I did that before the tech could fix it, and he said, "Call back," and all they had to do was fix the leak up in the attic. The guy came out this time and wanted $800 for Freon. I was like, "Well, I don't have the 800 for Freon right now. Can you at least fix the leak? I can get for Freon last." "Oh, well, we're gonna put this step in the Freon, a stop leak." My unit is far beyond that. The leak needs to be fixed and I'm sure they have something other than a stop leak.

Not only that, I have the newer unit and it's with the R34a, and he still charged prices for the old, expensive Freon. I was very disappointed. They came in, they didn't look at anything, they took my filters out and just left them in the hall. They didn't replace them. It was like when I said I didn't have the money for the Freon, that was it for them.

I signed up for Home Shield because of the air conditioner. Two years later, I still don't have heat or air. I was considering that, "Hey, maybe I need to just cancel that and start me a repair fund with that money so that I can get things that I need done." I'm gonna check on Home Shield's website though to see about higher plans that would pay for everything. But if it's too expensive, then I'll just start saving that money myself for repairs. But I've been able to use Home Shield for certain things. It's just that air conditioning which I've had the problem with. It may be due to the plan I'm under.

The electric socket was melted on the microwave so the guy replaced it. But what happened was the breaker didn't trip so he said that that's not good, that I need to have the breaker checked because it would cause a fire. That's what the breaker's for - to shut down the electricity and it didn't. The guy was there to fix the electric socket and he did. He said he was not supposed to fix the breaker. I am wondering is that a different claim? I don't know what to do and this has been going on for probably 2 weeks.

It's been really useful for us. So far, the folks that we've had that responded had been solid. You can tell a difference between different companies. Like we had someone who came out for plumbing issues, and we got a small company that came out versus a guy who was with a larger company. The guy who was with the smaller company was much more thorough and very responsive. So there was a notable difference in customer service. With the smaller company, they have more on the line. But we didn't have any problems with the other guy with the bigger company.

Over the years that we've had American Home Shield, United Air Temp is probably the best vendor that has represented them. They are great and if we need AC assistance, we specifically request United Air Temp. I like their timeliness, professionalism, communication, and diagnostic skills. All of those things are very positive.

With the home warranty companies, you're only as good as the vendors are that represent you. You have coverage and those benefits are one side of the coin. But the other side is if you don't have good vendors out there serving you, then it's you that's taking the hit. We've had two contracts with American Home Shield until recently - one on our home in Northern Virginia and one on our condo in Florida. With the one in Northern Virginia, things have been very good. Our condo in Florida is in the north part and the place is not as populated as Northern Virginia. There have been a couple of times where I've had excruciatingly bad experiences. It had to do with an air conditioning company. If American Home Shield went back to my records, they'd see the complaints.

If you take away the air conditioning issue there two or three years ago, it hasn't been as bad. But typically, the vendors in Florida are not as timely with responses. There are probably fewer available vendors in our area. We sold the condo to one of our daughters and we bought a new home. We retired down here in Florida and we went with a different home warranty company.

I had a dryer that wasn't working so I called American Home Shield for their contractor to come and look at it. The first person that came out said that it was the motor. It's a dryer on a little stand. It's two separate pieces. He said it looked like a two-person job so I was gonna have to get somebody. I called American Home Shield and let them know what happened. The next day, they sent somebody else out and he had the same problem. He said it was a two-person job and he needed somebody that could come in and help him take the thing off. A couple of days went by and he didn't call back. I tried to leave a message but I couldn't get him on the phone.

I called American Home Shield and talked to somebody. The first person I talked to was saying that if they don't have access to something, then they won't pay for it. It's up to me to make it accessible. I told her that doesn't make sense. If they came here and it couldn't be fixed, they would take it down then they would bring me another one and they would put it up there. I asked if they don't have a service that does that. She told me, "You call this number and ask them. Maybe they can come over there and take it down for you."

I called those people and the lady told me it's the most ridiculous thing she's ever heard. She said, "We're a whole different company. You want us to come over, put your dryer down, then after they fix it, we will come back and put it back up?" She wanted to get me off the phone. The next day, I called back to try to talk to somebody. I talked to a lady named Jayda. She said, "I'm gonna try to find out what we can do to try to help you out. But I'll call you back if not later today, sometime tomorrow." Two days go by but she didn't call me back.

I called today and talked to somebody named Michael. He was very helpful. He asked if I tried to call back the second person that came in. I told him I tried to call and I couldn't get a call back. He put me on hold and said he'd call them for me, and he did. He said, "I talked to the man. He said that he has somebody that could come over there and help him fix it, but it would be $80 for him to come over and do it." I told him I didn't have any choice. They already told me it's not in the contract. They're not gonna come over and fix it. I need my dryer so I'm gonna have to pay the $80. It's ridiculous but at least Michael went the extra mile to try to help me out.

I'm disappointed in American Home Shield that they would have something like that. I'm a senior. I don't know people of my age who wanna go and pick up a dryer. You can't get just anybody 'cause there's gottta be somebody who knows how to disconnect it. It's very inconvenient. The company failed me and I still gotta come out of pocket. I paid the $75 fee then I gotta pay somebody $80 to come out and do it. I wouldn't recommend American Home Shield to anybody because I don't understand how it could have a rule like that. They also need to get some training in customer service. Just tell the person, "It is what it is and that's what all I can do." Don't just have me hanging. Don't tell me you're gonna do something or give me some misinformation, or just tell me you're gonna call me back and you know you have no intentions of doing it.

My dryer had been inoperable for about seven months. The tech was wonderful. He called and told me what time he was gonna be in here. He ended up being a little bit late because he had a blowout on one of the tires on his car. It was no big deal because I didn't have any pressing issue to leave the house for anything. Took him like 30 minutes to get it knocked down. His quality of work was very great.

I used my dryer this past weekend and it's working just like new. The tech identified the problem, told me what it was, and how to prevent it from happening again. When we bought this house, the dryer vent was out of regulation because it goes up to the ceiling of the garage and the full length of the garage and out the other side of the garage. It's only supposed to be like 10 feet max. But he told me, "That's the reason why the fuse blew out, because of the exhaust, and the lint has nowhere else to go and it's all backed up in there. So it causes the fuse to overheat and blow out.” He had the fuse. He gave me the fuse and showed me exactly what it was. He's like, "This little thing right here is why your dryer is not working."

He made a suggestion. I told him, "I'm not gonna hook it back up to that pipe. I'm just gonna run it along the side of the dryer." He said, "Yeah. Put an old pantyhose on it." I asked him, "Is it okay if I just leave it disconnected?" He said, "Yes. If you don't mind lint being all over your garage. Put a piece of pantyhose over here. When it gets full, just take it off and clean it out and put it back on. And that will keep the dryer from breaking again."

Submitting the claim to American Home Shield was really easy. As soon as I filed the claim, I got a call from American Home Shield. Then about 30 minutes later, I got a call from the company who was gonna come out. I missed the call. I called them back and said to them, "Hey, I missed your call. Who am I speaking with?" She said, "Oh, this is Dill Appliance Service from American Home Shield. We'll send you a text letting you know exactly what time the tech is gonna be there tomorrow.” It was really quick. It was painless.

I wish I remembered a couple years ago that I've had AHS because my garage door got broke. It ended up costing us like 300 bucks to get it fixed. I've already recommended it even before I've used it because of how easy it was to go in and select what kind of coverages I want. AHS was really awesome. I've had other companies contact me and try to get me to switch. I tell them I'm good. I got my whole house covered under American Home Shield pretty much, and I don't wanna switch.

American Home Shield has been great in the past, but it's all down to the COVID issue as regards to this service, because of the part being over 30 days. Nobody called to apprise me of any situation. I had to keep calling American Home Shield and then the calls were taken in the Philippines. They need to step up the game, especially where the parts are concerned.

We've used American Home Shield for several claims and submitting them has been very easy. There were some things that we felt like we had to follow up on and that we had to keep calling about different things, but it was not their fault so much. It was the company that was supposed to come out not following up. We had to follow up with them instead of them following up with us. However, we liked the contractors who came out for our garage doors, and we would use them again. They were very good. Overall, we're happy with American Home Shield and the people they sent out.

Overall, American Home Shield does a good job. However, I don't like that they pick the repair person or the location, and that's the reason why I would not renew my service contract with them. I had an incident with my upstairs unit and the people that were dispatched came from a completely different city. They also ripped me off. But if AHS would have let me pick somebody local, then it would have worked out better for both of us. I tried to plead with them, to pick a company that was closer to my city, but they wouldn't hear it. I live in a city that’s less than 80,000 people and they went to a city that was an hour away. That policy puts the consumer in danger as well as American Home Shield of being flat out ripped off. And that incident really cost me a lot of money as dealing with those folks cost me 500 bucks.

But whatever this company did to my toilet, it was making the most horrific noise. I've never heard a toilet make this kind of noise. So I would have to call them back out here again.

It's difficult to submit a claim right now. I've been aggravated because I can't get anybody on the phone. So I'm not totally satisfied with American Home Shield. They're using the pandemic as an excuse not to answer the phone. So they make you do everything automated. But sometimes, you wanna speak to people and not to a machine. Also, when they replace the item, they wanna replace it with the cheapest thing that they can find out there. So you have to downgrade to get something from them. It might not even fit your decor.

American Home Shield has been well worth the value. I have a beach condo and a home that have them. I've had three claims and I still have one that's being solved right now but the end result has been worth what I paid for the service. The recent repair was for a water filter problem on the refrigerator. When you went to push in the water filter, water wouldn't come out and the icemaker wouldn't work. I had bought three packs of filters. I had taken out filter number one 'cause it was past the date. I put in filter number two and it started this problem. I then tried the third of the three to see if it was a problem with the filter and it was not. That was when we decided to go ahead and make a claim to get the water filter fixed.

I did it on the website like I've done with other claims with American Home Shield. The website is good but it does not give us the opportunity to describe the problem in full. Therefore, when your service provider shows up, they're coming in blind. For all my claims with American Home Shield over the last three or four years, each time it is that way. You're guaranteeing that on the day that they show up, your problem, more than likely, will not be resolved on that day.

For instance, if I had been able to say to them, "Here's the specific model number and I'm having problems with the filter plugin," maybe the company could have had one of those parts in the vehicle when they showed up. If it was that simple, they could have plugged it and been done and not have to come back a week later. In this case, they ordered a part and it was about five days for it to come in. But Atlantic Appliance Repair who came was awesome. That morning, they called me and said, "We can be there by 11:00. Are you available?" I was so the day they got the part in was the day I got it fixed.

Since I switched over to this company, I've rated them high because they're courteous on the phone and they're concerned about the issues. They're just like, "Anything else we can help you with?" I've contacted them before for some services and that's wonderful because just for the small amount of time that I've had them, they've been nothing but very helpful.

GE Appliances have come out twice for my refrigerator which wasn't fixable, so they replaced it and I was grateful for that. Very timely matter. And then, I turned my heat on my unit and I had no heat. It was pure cold air. I called AHS and they emailed me and said they hadn't already contacted the contractor. Then the contractor was here today and corrected the issue. Now, I have heat in my house. I was very happy that they took care of it right away. I didn't have to wait two or three days. I was also happy with the work and the people that I talked to, and especially with American Home Shield. I told my daughter that's a keeper for me because you just never know.

The air conditioning stopped working and the technician from Integrity got it working. But another problem popped up. He blew out the lines and got it working again. It might be a cracked pan, but he couldn't really diagnose that unless it would continue to leak. If it was a cracked pain, he told me to give him a call back and they would order a pan for it. But he checked over the entire system and I walked with him the whole entire way. He was educating me all the way. So it was really a good experience.

The person that American Home Shield chose was very professional and very helpful when it came to what do I needed to do to keep the maintenance up on it. We had issues that we reported to American Home Shield. Our garbage disposal wasn't functioning and we had a water leak in a bathroom. While the technician was there, he looked at a sink that had some leak issues. He was very efficient and very good. He solved all our problems and explained to us what the problems were. He was informative. In fact, I told him that if we should ever get another problem, we would want him back.

I’ve had American Home Shield for a while and I've only had one challenging circumstance. Fortunately, it was rectified. It ended up not being American Home Shield’s fault. It was the technician they sent out earlier this year for our AC unit. The first technician came out, assessed the situation, but he was wrong. He was overcharging for freon. He quoted more freon than the unit could even hold. It didn't sound right which made me call American Home Shield and ask for a second opinion. American Home Shield was fine with that. They sent out someone else. When they realized the estimate was wrong and what services were needed with the unit, it was covered. American Home Shield took care of it.

I was concerned with the vetting of outsourced technicians around that AC unit. They should not work with that technician again. But I was really pleased that, 1) American Home Shield was open to provide the second estimate, and 2) they accepted that estimate as the problem, and it was. That was really important because depending on how that situation was handled, I was prepared to cancel with American Home Shield and move to Choice. But because of how that was handled, I decided to stay with American Home Shield. On my first home, I had them for 10 years. They were recommended by a friend back then who had American Home Shield. I had my wife's dad get American Home Shield two years ago for his house and when we bought this house last August, it was the first thing I did. When they say there’s an insurance, I said we wanted to get American Home Shield.

It takes a lot of the guesswork out of it. Making a claim is easy and for the most part, I don't have any issues with any of the contractors we've already used. American Home Shield seems to send some pretty decent companies. Recently, Flash Garage Door Service was looking at why the door kept opening and closing when we pushed the button. They adjusted the tension on it but it's doing it again. Having the door doing what it was doing again after it was supposedly repaired is a pain in the butt. But I'll call American Home Shield back and they’ll send somebody out to take care of it.

When that happened, my heating was not working in the back of the house and then, it used four gallons of refrigerant. I am angry because the people that American Home Shield sent me a month ago cost me hundreds of dollars. I would like to see the reviews of the people on the companies that AHS is sending upfront. My guess is that A-Advanced has bad reviews and if I had seen that, I would have told them to change companies. American Home Shield has some very subpar contractors so, I have had a very bad experience as well. But overall, since I've had AHS, they've done very well.

That was a little bit of a problem because I didn't know when in the four hours the person would come and I did not get a call to say he was on his way or that he would be there in two hours. The man who came in said they were supposed to call me and tell me when he would be there. Other than that, he was very professional and nice. He explained how things worked in the dishwasher and said I probably was using too much soap when I rinsed my dishes before I put them in the dishwasher. I had no idea you could do that.

Seven months ago, I scheduled a particular service but I decided I didn't want to have anybody in my house because of COVID so I canceled the service. When I called back to schedule this time, AHS said it would cost me $75. But I already paid for the canceled appointment. I never got the $75. I was supposed to get a check in the mail and I was calling every two weeks because they said it was gonna be 10 to 14 days. After about three months, the rep I spoke with said the person who requested the refund requested it on the wrong form and that was why the refund wasn't sent out. It was an internal thing. But it worked out evenly. AHS did not charge me this time.

The contractor that American Home Shield hired to do the job for the leaking faucet was from San Antonio. I live in Victoria. That’s three hours away. The guy looks like in his mid-20s. I had to give him instructions on how to take the valve apart. I had to loan him some of my tools because he didn't have the proper tools. Then he took pictures of the part and ordered it. When it came back, it was the wrong part. That was a period of four weeks to get this done. The contractors spent six hours on the road twice and would have pay 200 something dollars for a part they had no refund on that was wrong. They refused to come back and told me to find somebody else, so I got hold of American Home Shield.

American Home Shield gave me permission to get an outside contractor. I got an outside contractor to come to the house. The outside contractor charged me $149 to take the leaking faucet apart and I had to help him take it apart also and loaned him some of my tools. But he described the part that was needed and told me what I had to order it. They would not order it ‘cause they didn't want to have anything to do with American Home Shield ‘cause they couldn't get the money out of them. I ordered it and American Home Shield was gonna reimburse me for the fee and for my parts.

The outside contractor discovered the part that was leaking was under warranty. They ordered the part, put it in under warranty, and solved the problem. But the contractor that AHS provided didn’t do any of that. It was a low bid job and the guy didn't even have windshield wipers on his truck. They just slapped some Stop Leak in it and walked off. They also overcharged the system to the point where I had to call somebody else out to bleed it down a little bit.

When the part came in, I called the outside contractor up to come back out and install it. But now, they wanted right at $300 to come out and install the part. I was not gonna let them do that. I'd put it in myself since I had to help them do everything in the first place. So I told American Home Shield that I went ahead and installed the part myself and I sent them the receipt for the hundred $149 fee from the outside contractor along with the fee for the invoice for the part.

The associate that I was talking to told me that they were gonna refund me my service fee on those two items alone. Now they’re refusing to do that. They said that they didn't have permission to do that. Then It takes you an hour and a half on the phone to get in touch with anybody and get anything done. A lot of times, I can’t even understand them. They got a foreign accent and they're breaking up like it was over in India or somewhere else.

AHS refused to pay it unless I got a receipt showing the job was finished by them and with an authorization number on it. So I called the contractor back up. So basically, they were gonna come out, take the thing apart, look at it, put it back together. Then they would charge me $300 so I could get an invoice, send it to AHS and get right at $500 worth of parts and labor reimbursed. As a contractor, they got authorization to do the job and spend $448 to repair the faucet. They’re gonna get every nickel that they gave permission to charge out of American Home Shield. I tried to save American Home Shield $300. Now they’re trying to screw me out of 200 something dollars and this has been a three-month ordeal.

The water well also went out. We were without water for that eight days that it took the contractor that AHS selected to come out and do the job. I have a $1,500 limit on how much they can spend on that. The guy put the water pump in the well charged $1,520. Then I found out that AHS would not pay him because the $1,520 was over their limit. I told AHS to pay the contractor the 1,500 and I would pay him the other 20. Also, I've got an apartment complex so I have a contract with American Home Shield. I told the contractor that AHS hired to come out and do the air conditioning that it was a two-story apartment. But they came out without a ladder. I got people living in an apartment with 100 and something degree weather with no AC over the weekend.

Whatever the issue was, they could've stated it to me while I was there, if it was an issue, if they weren't gonna come back, or if they couldn't fix it, because it transferred three times to some. I didn't know what was going on and I just sat around waiting for days to get a response until I had to make a phone call and ask. I have been very much impressed with American Home Shield. With the other company that we've had, when our air conditioner stopped working, their contractor came out to say the unit needed to be replaced but the company refused. They said I needed to show them all our maintenance records for the past six years but I haven't even lived in the house for six years. We submitted a work claim for a dishwasher that they said needed to be replaced. They agreed to replace it but it has now been about a year and we still have not received the money for it. All of the companies that would come out would say they hate working for them because they never pay them.

Comparatively speaking, we have not ever had any issue with anything with American Home Shield including when our house flooded. Other places have told us they will not work on any kind of flooding issue because they only cover from the house through the wall but American Home Shield hasn't hasn't given us any problem covering anything at all. Most of the contractors they have sent out have all been excellent. We have one that we have called repeatedly because of light issues. We hired the same guy that American Home Shield hired to upgrade our lights in the house and he's been over there multiple times for little issues. He fixed a couple of lights outside and that was what American Home Shield had paid for. We've had other places that told us they don't cover any outlets or any electrical on the outside of the house.

American Home Shield is the only place that I would recommend. If it wasn't for the experience that we had with them, I would not have gotten a home warranty at all just from the experience that I've had from the other ones. I’ve had multiple home warranties in the past, and overall, it's not worth it. The fine print on them, for instance with one of them, they said this part needed to be replaced on the air conditioning. They denied the claim and said it was not covered. There was nowhere in my contract that said it was not covered. They sent me a link to their bylaws on every piece of equipment and the list for air conditioning units said they would not cover anything that was related to cooling or electrical. Essentially, they don't cover anything that costs any money. They're charging you the service charge for somebody to diagnose it but they never pay anything else out.

With American Home Shield, I haven't ever had to pay anything else out of my pocket for anything that they had fixed. The only issue that my wife had with the last guys that fixed the AC was when they came into the house, there was a very unusual odor. They seemed like they had been smoking while at work but we didn’t have any problem with the way they acted.

I paid the American Home Shield fee for my claim online and A-US Air Conditioning of Texas reached out via phone call and text to schedule with me. When, I registered with American Home Shield, instead of them registering the address of the house I bought, they put my old house address which made submitting claims a little difficult for me. I got that resolved when I had to submit the claim but I don't understand why there was a registration process for me to do afterward with AHS. Also, I kept getting emails to register which is a bit strange versus other home warranties I've dealt with. I understand the peace of mind AHS coverage offers people during the home purchase process. However, I don't think they're worth it. I've had valid claims before and I had to pay $100 for a contractor to visit. Then, I would get $160 for the broken dishwasher I filed for.

I had a toilet in my hallway that kept on coming on and off by itself and I called Home Shield in order to get that checked out. I also asked them to check the other toilet and my sink in the kitchen because whenever I would run my dishwasher, the water would come up and it would stay. It was hard to get back down. I always have nice experiences with Home Shield's representative. And getting the call through and the time that the service person got back to me was timely and professional.

When the guy from Price Right evaluated all the services that I told him about, it didn’t take any time and he assured me that he did everything that he could. But I went and checked my garbage disposal and turned it on and it didn't come on. I asked him what was going on with it because it was working before he came here and he said he had done everything that he could do and that it was an electrical problem, which was mighty strange. Then, at night, when I walked down to the other part of my hall, I heard the bathroom that he was supposed to have checked and water was running real loud. I put it in for a recall and when they came in, they wouldn't check the back of the tank.

Also, when the plumber went in there and straightened up the problem with the second bathroom, he was saying there was some black stuff coming from the on and off switch. He said the screw was worn because it was old and that's why residue was coming through. But he told me that Home Shield did not give him authorization to touch that. It was the same problem going on with the other toilet but he couldn't take that knob off and put that screw on it just like the man did with the other one. He said that wasn't a part of what he was supposed to do. He was supposed to do the toilet. But isn't that a part of the toilet? He gave me a whole lot of baloney. I told him I'm very unhappy that he could not do that and I'm still unhappy about that stuff dripping from that on and off switch.

I thought the guy did a good job in the beginning. He was young and any time young people do their stuff, you kinda feel good about them. I thought he knew what he was doing but when this incident happened that I had to do the recall, I felt differently about him. He may be good. He might have just forgotten some stuff but I don't think that I should be the guinea pig that you forget your stuff with. They're supposed to be plumbers. They know what they're supposed to do - try to figure out why the water keeps on coming on and off by itself. Water is very expensive in this area so we can’t lose the water. All they had to do was come in, do what they needed to do, and finish their job. But they came in, halfway did their job, and then called other problems.

I also had a problem with another provider who came here and torched the wires in my house when he was supposed to have been doing a hot water heater. And he didn't say anything. I was really upset about that because I have insulation up in my attic. When there's insulation on there, you don’t torch something and not say anything. I told Home Shield to not ever send that company back to my house. I've been with Home Shield for a million years and when you get somebody that doesn't care about their job, you don't get a good taste in your mouth.

We had a lighting fixture in the ceiling that was not working properly. We tried switching our light bulb and it would not connect. Also messed with the circuit breaker but couldn't get anything done. We really needed somebody who understood the electrical background of it. I went through the website and submitted a request. It seems pretty easy to do. Everything is all hotkeyed and ready to go. So it's pretty simple to do it and pretty quick that way. It seemed pretty straightforward, and I got a response pretty fast after I submitted the claim. Then A to Z came out and the tech checked the wiring to the fixture and discovered that some of the wiring connections weren't connected right. So he rewired it, reworked it, and then got it to work again.

A to Z was pretty responsive initially and gave me a pretty accurate time of getting somebody out there. It did take a little bit because I was kinda playing phone tag with them at the beginning. But after I got a call back, we got someone scheduled. Then the tech was pretty responsive. They told us that we should get a text or a call 30 minutes before he got there, and we got a response. Also, I could track his progress and location. So I kinda knew what time he was gonna get there. So everything seemed pretty good.

Comfort King was dispatched to do routine maintenance. It took a few days to schedule because we had an ice storm. It was an odd time to get the heating service anyways. But the guy kept in contact with me throughout the ice storm, and then let me know he would be there on a specific day. When he showed up, he explained the process to me and how it would work if I needed service. Then he checked out the entire house, checked out the AC units-- ‘cause there's one in the attic and the actual unit outside. He looked everything over and only found one thing. He explained to me how the process would work again, and let me know that I would receive a phone call.

I'm a new homeowner and the whole process is new to me. I wasn't even completely sure what American Home Shield was until the guy who came out to do the heating check was able to explain it to me a little bit more in detail. I just received the letter after I purchased the home and I thought, the regular insurance and then there's also American Home Shield. Also, I didn't know what it would mean for the pre-service heating, and if it would transfer into a service call almost. Technically, it's two different services, and I was aware of that towards the end. But I wasn't sure what was covered upfront, which I probably could have found that information pretty easily. It's just that you pay the deductible on the pre-service heating thing, and then pay on the actual service itself. Understanding the differences about it upfront would be helpful.

The problem was the part was backordered and that took several weeks but I understand that. There were three different things down which was why I bought the service from AHS. It's almost like the people that come out do the bare minimum because they're not getting paid through the warranty company. The people are nice, but it's not advertised that your service is going to be mediocre. I had some plumbing issues before and the guy pretty much said that he was not going to do the service, even though that was part of his troubleshooting. The motor and a capacitor went out. The capacitor was replaced on the first appointment when AC Bencraft Mechanical Services came out and found the issues. But because it's an older AC and I live on the beach, the grill was rusted. They knew when they took the grill off to replace the motor that it was gonna disintegrate and that needed to be replaced as well. That was a part that they did need to find and order before they could replace the motor.

Originally, they had told me it was going to take a week or longer to get the parts because there was an issue with getting that grill. I did kinda complain ‘cause it's still hot weather in Florida. The contractor said they were limited as to what they could do because of American Home Shield. Luckily, they did expedite it. This was on a Friday when they came out and told me it would be over a week to get the part. On Monday, they called me and told me they had the part and they put everything on Tuesday. So, I was very happy with the service and how everything was handled. I was also very happy with Bencraft. They were timely, on it, and very efficient.

American Home Shield provides good service. They get in touch with their contractors and reach back out to you very quickly. If you're acceptant and knowing that you're pretty much gonna get a repair no matter what, that they are gonna do everything that they can to repair and not replace and you're okay with that, then you're gonna be fine. It's a good viable option.

We had Turner Electrical and Lighting come out. Our outside lights and inside lights were affecting each other. You'd turn on one light and it would make the other light go out. I would try to turn the other light off and the other light would then come back on. The guy found out that there was a different type of timer that was burnt out or affecting those two light switches. The power went through this timer. He had to remove the timer and he replaced the switches. We had a second issue in the kids’ room. You would turn the closet light on and it would start flickering. You would then turn it off and turn it back on but it's same thing again. It was a bad dimmer and he replaced it.

This is the third time we've used American Home Shield and it seemed fastest to go online. I clicked on electrical, it brought me to another list, and I hit lighting. I paid the $75 then within a couple hours, they sent me an email saying Turner Electrical is the point of contact for this repair. The gentleman that came out was confident. He knew what was the problem. It only took him less than five minutes to troubleshoot each issue. It was pretty quick. I was worried it was gonna be an electrical issue where they were gonna have to tear apart walls. Once he figured out the issue, he fixed that in probably 45 minutes. Then he walked over to the kids’ bedroom. Once again, in five minutes, he was pretty sure he figured out the problem. The only small issue was a little bit better cleanup. After the technician was done, there were a couple wire ties.

Everything is working good now. One of the issues we were having was the outside lights were really dim even when you turn them on and leave the other switch off. You'd walk up to your front door and wonder if the light was on ‘cause you couldn't even see your keys. You'd look up and see a glow, but it wasn't really bright. Once that timer was removed from the system, it has those normal lights that you walk in and you can see everything. It’s all bright.

I've always been really skeptical of home warranties. I've had home warranties in the past and it seemed like every issue I had, they didn't cover. It's been disappointing. I bought four houses and I've really never used my home warranty. But the only thing American Home Shield hasn't covered so far is my garage door. I'm in the military so I've gone to Afghanistan for a few months. My wife had some leak issues and it was nice to be able to call and have a plumber come out and get it fixed.

They called me within 30 minutes of me calling American Home Shield and they were out the next day. My experience for this time was very well. I've had experiences with American Home Shield that have not been so good in the past, but 50% of them are very good. I'm old, and from year to year, I don't remember when the service was really good as much as if I had to wait two weeks in a hot house for an air conditioner or a week for a part on a hot water heater. It's not so good then.

Thank goodness I don't have to use them that often, but my biggest issue is the time factor when we have to wait for parts. It takes a long time, and I know that's something that they have to do. We live in a rural area, so the contractors can't just go right back into Lubbock and get a part. From what I understand, they have to wait for it to come from a certain distributor that American Home Shield has. However, we own another house in Lubbock, and it has Fidelity. When we bought the house, that's what they had and we've kept it with that, but I prefer American Home Shield over Fidelity. My experiences have been better with it.

The only complaint I had was the little female that called me from Home Shield to tell me that they could not replace the part and to fix it and that I'd have to purchase another whole stove. She didn't speak very much English at all. I could tell right off the bat she was a foreigner and that she was reading off of a cue card. I thought it was just me. I had a leak on the faucet and a leak on the pipe and AHS gave me who to contact and the estimated date that they're gonna contact me. Working with AHS was convenient, especially with their website. It was very convenient to get in touch or open a claim. I like that. Little Big Plumbing scheduled the appointment for inspection and they came out. They checked the shower faucet and the tech also checked the drain. When he looked at the drain, he said he doesn't think it's leaking. He came back to fix the faucet and we ran the water. At that point, it didn't leak, but later in the night when we ran the faucet again, the leak came out. I went online and told them it was still leaking. They came back a second time and they cut the floor to look at the plumbing. They saw the leak from underneath and they changed the whole pipe.

We had a leaky faucet. I was hesitant to use AHS at first because I've had issues in the past about communicating with them. But that was one of the reasons why I went to the website. I said, “Okay, let's see if it's a little better at this time.” And it was! It responds to the email. Within an hour, the vendor was calling and saying, “All right, we're planning to come. Here's the date we'll be there and away we go.” It was better than doing it on the phone.

They said the technician would notify when he was on his way. I got emails or text messages saying he was on his way. He came in and found the problem real quick. He took the piece out to his truck, fixed it, put a new gasket on it, came in and punched it in. Then he was here about another additional 15 minutes running, moving everything around, turning the water on and off. Everything was fine and he said, “That's it. We're good.” I was very happy with American Home Shield.

I have an Ecobee thermostat and it came up with an error code. The temperature started dropping in my house. So I sent in a claim online for our furnace and they told me that I would hear from the contractor within 24 to 48 hours. Paragon Mechanical sent me an email and then I called them. They scheduled when they were gonna come. They gave me a five-hour window on Saturday. About four and a half hours into that, I hadn't heard anything from them and I became worried. I tried to call them but it was after hours for them, so nobody answered. I left a message and I sent them an email. Immediately after I sent that, the tech was reaching out to me to say that he was on his way. I learned that he had been locked out of his vehicle and then had to wait for people to respond. But when he showed up at my house, he had the problem resolved within 10 minutes. He was very professional and very nice.

My most recent claim with Home Shield was for an annual kind of a check-up tune-up on the air conditioner and heating system. I called in to Home Shield, and the claims process was very easy. Someone guided me through the process. The contractor was very knowledgeable of both the Home Shield contract and what was allowed and not allowed on this particular type of claim. He was extremely experienced with heating and air conditioning. He did his job very efficiently and explained the process to me, and I was very pleased from start to finish.

My experience with American Home Shield has mostly been good. Unfortunately, the very first claim was on our refrigerator. A very bright young man came out and fixed one problem, said for the other problem, he'd go back and order the part. I called. He said it would be in quickly. I called a couple of weeks later, and they hadn't even ordered the part yet. I was very disappointed in that. In fact, I'm still waiting for it.

I've had American Home Shield for over five years since we’ve purchased the house and I've been pretty happy with the service. I used them for an air conditioning that went out a few months ago on one of the two air conditioning systems in our house. They did pay to replace the outdoor condenser and some other components but they didn't pay as much as I thought. It still ended up costing me about $2,300. But still, I paid for probably what I suspect was half the bill that wasn't covered by American Home Shield.

Recently, we found water in front of the washing machine that had drained out. I thought it was coming from the pipe that the washing machine drains into. Also, water was building up in the kitchen sink, about 12 feet apart. The contractor came out, snaked the cleanout underneath the kitchen sink and found a backup. They cleared it. There was no evidence that the water was coming from the washing machine and the washing machine itself was only six months old. There was some bubbling on the chipboard behind the washer so that indicated that the water must have backed up in the drain behind the washer. That was where the water underneath the washer came from. The service was very good. They came in, told me what they thought the issue was going to be, and sure enough, that was correct. After they snaked the drain, everything was good. They were gone within 45 minutes. We've used the washer several times and there's been no problem.

Updated on 11/9/2020: Please read my post from 10/31. Here is an update on washer. My issue with my washer began on September 12 and now 3 MONTHS later, still no washer. I have been going to the laundry mat for past 12 weeks. I spend about $50 a week. Now multiply that by 12 is $600. AHS has offered to send a gift card from Lowe's to replace my washer. Only to get another email a few days later telling me that they are NOT sending a gift card. That I need to purchase my washer first THEN I will get reimburse.

I recommend reading other consumer's post for AHS. There was another customer who spent his own money and never got reimburse. If AHS has stalled for THREE MONTHS. I can almost bet my monies that I won't get reimbursed for it. I have been an AHS customer for 5 years, you would think that AHS would treat their loyal customers differently. AHS should reimburse me the $600 plus the amount it would cost to replace my washer.

Original review: Samsung Washer issues 7 weeks later, still not working. I started off with one issue, "Check pump Filter" washer stops working. They replaced the pump and motherboard. Additional problems soon after these parts were installed. 1st problem, I can't turn off my washer only by unplugging it from wall circuit. 2nd problem, other cycles I'm unable to select other water temperatures. 3rd problem, it tells I'm using too much detergent (Please note I only use pods). 4th problem my "Silver Care" button is no longer working. 5th problem, it's still telling me "Check pump filter". Mind you I've had serval visits with the 1st vendor only to tell me that I need to reduce the amount of detergent.

On one visit he was under the instruction to bang on the side of the washer to get it working. Vendor leaves after the 4th visit and I send him texts and several video's of my washer not working. Called AHS at 4 weeks later only to tell me that I had to wait 24hrs for the 1st vendor to send a report. That happen on a Monday, by Wednesday I called AHS and again they explain to me that I had to wait another 24hrs for the report from the vendor. I was already fuming by now. Then here comes Friday, still no report, all they could do was to escalate the issues. Sounds familiar?? After being on the phone with them for over an hour. All AHS can do was to send me another vendor who is an Samsung Specialist. I'm ok, we are going somewhere FINALLY.

I proceeded to send the new (2nd) vendor all the videos I provided to the (1st) vendor plus a long email and timeline, at their request. My 7th week, new vendor comes to my house clears the issues, I asked him, "Do you know the history of what has been done with my washer?" He tells me "no", so I proceeded to explain to him after they already requested this information and he had NO IDEA and/or any knowledge what has been going on. Do you get my frustration??? I called AHS again and this is what they said!! I give you one guess. I have to wait 24 hrs for the vendor to send the report. I reported the issue on September 12, 2020 and we are now on October 30 and still NOTHING has been resolved. Let's how may 24hrs I have to wait. I will keep you posted. I would think twice with going with AHS. Better yet don't go with AHS.

I am writing this review to help out those who are looking into buying Home Warranty. I was a first time home buyer so my real state agent (Gina & Jeremiah **) told me I should buy a home warranty. 3 months after buying my condo, I noticed that water heater is leaking. Since water heater was covered under home warranty, I called American Home Shield (AHS). They said they would send a technician from Confidential Plumbing. Technician came to my house, inspected the water heater and said it need to be replaced. Later that afternoon (10/28/20) I got an email from AHS that I need to call them. I called and they said that they are not going to cover the majority cost of replacing that water heater (total cost $ 2000. AHS covers $ 200) because water heater was not up to code/standard. I asked them to send me diagnostic report so that I can see what part was not up to code.

It is now 3 days later (10/30 20) and after 3 calls I still did not receive that report. I asked for that report because I had a home inspection done prior to buying this condo & inspector did not say on his report that water heater is not up to code/ standard. After multiple phone calls, escalation manager told me that I might have the option to pay for replacing that water heater and then they will reimburse me. She said someone from American Home Shield will call me to go through that option with me but it has been 3 days and no one from their option team called me either. I do not trust that company & I believe they are just trying to find a loophole not to pay for water heater replacement.

Recently, Air First Mechanical came out and cleaned my furnace without a problem. They were wonderful. Then I knew smoke alarms were covered but only if they broke, and mine weren't, they were just old. AHS said those weren't covered so I ended up spending the 120 bucks to replace all of my things on my own and my son ended up putting them up, so that was my only concern. When the compressor area of my air conditioner went out, AHS replaced it, and it was only $75 versus 2,000. So, it's easier for me to come up with the $65 a month versus 3,000, 4000 for the compressor. The only thing was it took 10 days to get it installed because the service person that they used at the time didn't have the unit that AHS approved so they had to ship it in and it was 90 degrees out there.

My garage door opener was not working and the reason was it is mounted on the ceiling and the board there was faulty. It was not getting the signal. I created a request and it was easy. A guy came the next day, changed the board and everything was okay. He did the job professionally and went. I've had American Home Shield many years, and I now know almost everything. Whatever is not covered is not covered. When my air conditioner was changed, I had to pay $800 for some code change fee since it is not covered. Earlier, I did not know that rule and I came to know it at that time.

The only complaint I have is if you happen to talk to customer service, it's hours and hours before they can get to you, except for billing and payment. It's definitely an issue. I am also on the verge of retirement and now I'm thinking of not going for American Home Shield. I am paying almost $75 a month, and the number of service calls I had this year is two.

After I submitted the original issue with my air conditioning to AHS, someone came out and looked at it. They found that there was a part that needed to be replaced and I was told that it would be put on order. But I never heard back about when it would actually be repaired and as far as I know, the trouble claim is still open. I was also told by the company that originally came out and looked at my AC that they were going to come out again on Monday. But that was a week and a half ago and no one ever showed up. I submitted a second ticket because I got an email from American Home Shield saying that my claim was concluded. That was confusing to me because my AC wasn't fixed yet. I informed American Home Shield about it and at the moment, I don't know where I stand.

Other than that, I like the service that AHS provides. It's a great service and very beneficial to have. But I feel like they haven't really given the right amount of care to my issue. Still, I'm pretty sure that that's not how they treat everyone or every issue. I also would tell others to have American Home Shield. The warranty is very important because they cover a lot of major appliances that if you needed to repair or replace would cost thousands of dollars that no one can afford. But when you submit a claim, you need to follow up and keep track of it.

The technician who came out for my dishwasher was very nice and very knowledgeable. He replaced the plastic brackets of the upper shelf. There was nothing mechanical with the dishwasher. It’s just some plastic bracket that broke. I did everything online and It was fairly easy to do. The work that the technician did was great. That is the first time that I can ever say that. I’m hesitant about all of these people that come on this home warranty. I used to have another company that my Realtor purchased and they were the most horrible company in the whole world. They're all bad. But I've only been with American Home Shield for about two months and so far, so good.

I did my first claim when our downstairs air conditioning unit wasn't blowing cold air. The tech was out like the next day or two, and the guy fixed it while he was here. This time, I did my claim online and it was very easy. A.A. called and set the appointment the following day, and then, they were out here the following day. So, I was happy with it. Both experiences we've had so far have been good.

The garage door spring broke on the garage door, so it wouldn't open. We thought our warranty with AHS covered garage doors and accessories. But what it turned out to be is they said it's just the motor. They did not cover the spring in that. When they told us who the company was, I called them and said it was a spring on there, so they brought it out, fixed it and away they went.

Then AHS called back and said, "We don't cover that, so you're gonna have to pay for it." But then we talked to a supervisor and he said they would cover it. "We will cover it this time because of the communication." But then we just took care of it. We ended up paying for it. Then they said they would refund that $100, which they did. Everything was fine. It was just a total misunderstanding on our part and what we told them. But they don't get people on the phones over there anymore. All these people are from India, or wherever they're from, and they don't understand English most of the time when I talk to them. But we were satisfied with American Home Shield.

After at least 48 hours, I tried to reach Active Appliance, and I was on the phone for quite a long time and wasn't able to get ahold of anybody. I was put on hold and then I got cut off. By that time, I got frustrated. That was a Friday, so I just tried waiting until the following week. I waited till after the weekend and hoping that they would reach out to me, but it was around Tuesday that I was able to have a chance to call them and get ahold of somebody again. When doing things online, I either cannot find the right description or AHS's drop-down menu didn't have the right offering. We had an annual check-up of our central furnace in our house and our gas furnace. Royal Flush AC & Heating's tech diagnosed a problem. We did a repair order through American Home Shield and replaced the draft motor and fan unit in the furnace. I paid $75 to AHS to cover the check-up and another $100 for the next service call. The tech obtained the parts and put them in. I was very impressed with him. He was very efficient, helpful, and professional.

I was very skeptical about getting Home Shield but it came with the house and I'm glad we got them. The person from AC Resue who came out for our heating was exceptional. The guy has a really impressive skill set and could listen to the air conditioner or to the furnace and say what was wrong with it. It took him about 30 seconds to fix the problem and then he spent some time with us explaining what we could do and what we could do better. I wasn't expecting that and I'm not used to it from a home warranty type of experience. It's my first time to have a home warranty that is kinda what you hope you're gonna get.

Then, the techs came out and tried to do some troubleshooting. They arrived right at the beginning of the timeframe they gave me and they explained what they were doing. It was quick and when they left, I couldn't tell that they've been there in terms of any debris. But they thought they fixed it with correcting the way the machine filled and it turned out that that that didn't fix it. They came out again yesterday and put a new timer on it because the heating element was working fine. It was just that the drying cycle for some reason was completing super fast. They also showed up during the timeframe they said they'd be there.

A night or two before I moved into the property, I heard a loud noise in the walls. I thought it was maybe because I had had the hot water running, which was what happened. A couple of days after I moved in, we were running the hot water and I heard the noise again. It was really loud in a certain area of the house. My Realtor called American Home Shield because she told me she was gonna do the claim for that. We also had a claim to put in for a burner issue we had on the stove. After that, they had been in touch with me.

At the time that my realtor told me she was going to initiate the claims, she also told me that she would make payment for the fee of the service person to come out. But later on, I got an invoice for payment for both of the service claims. I wasn't understanding exactly what was going on with that. I paid for one but I did not wanna pay for the other one because I hadn’t gotten in touch with those appliance people and I haven’t received the service. I called American Home Shield back and the young lady explained to me that the payment initially was initiated for both of the service fee calls, but the payment did not go through. I'm assuming that was the payment that my Realtor sent on her credit card. I ended up I making payments for both.

The Lindsay Company came out for our plumbing issue. It turned out the problem was related to the water heater. The reason I understood it was related to that was because my brother ended up going in the attic the day after I moved in. He said that the water heater needed to be flushed as there was sediment that settled in. The young man that came out was the expert in his area and he stated that based on the age of the unit and the size of the sediments, it wouldn't make sense to flush it. It probably wouldn't even flush properly because the sediments are too large to pass through.

The young man was well-versed in what he was sharing with me. He even took me outside to show me the pipes that are coming from the house that are connected with the water heater that might give me any type of indication. He told me to make sure I checked it on a weekly basis to see if anything might be leaking.

We were having problems with our heating system. I was turning on the thermostat, but the system wasn't coming on at all. We had had the hurricane come through here so we had lost power the day before. I reset the system, the breakers, and it wasn't coming on. When it came on, there was a really horrible electric fire type of smell, so I was hesitant to run it. I was terrified that I would burn my house down.

I put in the trouble call. The guy came out and checked the system. He was really thorough. He went through everything in the system to make sure that everything was wired properly. At first, he couldn't find anything wrong. But then, as he was finishing up, he checked the thermostat just to make sure. He said that the control unit of the thermostat had somehow shorted itself. He'd never seen one like it. That was what was causing it not to trip on and that was what was causing the electric smell. He replaced just the control unit and it's been working great ever since.

The guy has done work for us before and he is the most friendly and professional type of dude. Sometimes it almost feels antagonistic with people that come in that try to do repairs because you want them to do a good job but they're busy. However, Precise Conditions has been fantastic. I hope that they don't ever fall off of American Home Shield’s contractor list because they are very responsive. The guy gave me his personal number so if anything ever happens in the middle of the night if I smell that smell I could give him a call and he'd come and fix it for me.

There was a period last year where it seemed like AHS was having some difficulty getting contractors assigned in a timely fashion. I live in an older house and with that, it's kind of unpredictable. You can think everything is perfect, and then you wake up one day and then something's just not right. There were a couple of times last year where it felt like I had to call them back two or three times to ask for a contractor or if I can independently go out and try to find somebody. This was in the wintertime and we had lost heat at one point and so it was really cold in the house.

But this year, I don't know if they did an overhaul or if they just made a concerted effort to get contractors assigned faster and make sure that the process went smoother. Literally, the two calls I've had in the past six months or so, I had a contractor assigned in 15 minutes. I'm pretty satisfied with AHS. There was another warranty that was included with the sale of the place then my Realtor told me about the warranty company he uses and recommend that I go with them. It was AHS and so I'm glad that she switched me over. I would recommend them 100%.

I had two appliances broken, and the same company, Sears, fixed them both. They were fantastic. On my microwave, the magnetron failed. That's the unit that produces the microwaves. They ordered the part, it was then delivered to my house, and they scheduled a time to come back to put it in. In the meantime, my dryer broke. They came back a couple of days later, diagnosed the dryer and had the parts sent in for that. Two people arrived at the same time on the repair day because they needed two people to get the microwave out of the wall. Each worked on the two individual units, and they got them both fixed and put them back in.

The only thing that concerns me is sometimes the air conditioning company is too long a wait. I'm partially handicapped and with health issues. I cannot be without air conditioning, but I've managed to get through it each time. One time, I had almost a five-day wait. But in the last couple service calls, they were more prompt. They took only a couple of days. But in the summer here in Naples, Florida, I can't take it. If it's really bad, I have to get a hotel or go to my daughter's. Also, Home Shield's website should be able to let me tell them more information so they can be more prepared when the vendors come. It doesn't give you the opportunity to describe the problem. So, they show up, and if I had been able to describe the problems, they might have been able to have the parts with them to fix it on the spot.

The service keeps the cost down. I haven't had to buy new appliances. If my microwave broke and I didn't have a warranty on it, I would have just went out and bought a new one for 400 bucks. But I'm paying a $75 service call. I pay my premium every month. If it's a minor repair and something I could have fixed myself for less than 75 bucks, that would probably upset me, but that's the way it is. Home Shield has done all right.

Roughly a month ago, we were called by our condo people and they told us there were problems with the air conditioner. We're in North Carolina right now and my wife went to Florida. We had Air Link come out and look at the unit. They said that they might be able to fix it, but they might not. Also, they said that they did not think American Home Shield would pay anything for it and that we would have to come out and they would come out and look at it. We drove to Florida roughly a week ago and a half ago and we had an appointment with Air Link. They came when they said they were going to come.

The tech talked about the options that we had. One option was to try and fix it, which would require that we spend almost $1,000 to put Freon in a system that was disintegrating because of rust and may work for six months. Also, Freon is very expensive because it's no longer available or it's not the right sort of thing. The other option was to spend $5,000 on a new system that would work for many years. I made the $5,000 choice. And Air Link did a very good job. They came on a Tuesday and they came back on Thursday. They were there at eight o'clock and were done before noon. I was very happy with Air Link.

It's easy to call American Home Shield but you must spend $75 to get an answer from them about anything. When we called them, they said that we would have to pay $75 to have another service person come out there but we told them someone had been there. They still billed us $75 anyway and it seemed unnecessary, especially under the circumstances where we already had the Air Link people out there two or three times and they had told us what we needed to do. That seemed like a kind of catch 22.

We had called the American Home Shield before for service and were told that they could only do so much because what they needed to do was knock out the wall and repair it. So, they did what they could. So, until I'm ready to knock out the wall and change everything, I'll have to live with it.

My boys were telling me months ago that the water pressure in the shower was getting way low. I needed to have it checked because this was different than what it was before ‘cause it was leaking continuously. But SAP Services came out. The very nice young man told us that the valve inside the washer thing needed to be ordered because it was a company brand that they didn't carry on their van. He ordered that and as soon as it came in, he would come in and replace it. I also had a new showerhead that he put on for me and he took off the old one. The boys said that the water pressure was now amazing. The young man also came in yesterday and replaced the faucet piece and did an excellent job. It doesn't leak anymore. SAP Services is really nice.

We have been a continuous American Home Shield customer for quite a few years. I like it and I won't change it. The only thing that bothers me is when renewing the same policy every year, they give me a new policy number. So sometimes it will get put on my desk and not get filed away with the rest of them. So, it's a big, long process to find out what the new number is.

The company that brought it out, I had paid the disposal fee and he kept saying that he was going to send his boss out because he didn't have any room in his van. The boss never came and no one ever called. I told Home Shield and they got in touch with the company for me. It worked out. Another part came and I thought it was just one part. I didn't call them and let them know. I called and told them the gentleman didn't come. They said I was supposed to call them.

I had to make two calls and then finally the tech came and he couldn’t get the part in. He said they would give me a new unit and he had to talk to people on the phone. They said that they could either try to get a new panel, but that it was very unlikely because it was an older model. The other option would be to remove the panel and send it to get it fixed, and that it would take about five weeks to fix it.

American Home Shield called us and said that either we could do that and take five weeks to fix it, or they would offer some money for us to replace the oven. So we took the money. It was not very much. It was pretty low. My expectation was that they would offer us something that worked and replace what we have. I would have expected them to be able to give us another one in the lowest range ever, but something workable. Because they offered just $400 to fix it. So, with $400, we cannot really replace a double oven. The previous owners of the house told us they had the same issue less than a year ago with the oven and they did the claim through the same insurance, but they didn't have any record, which was weird.

When my husband submitted the claim for the garage door, I'm assuming that American Home Shield didn't ask him what we did think was wrong. The reason why that was important at this time is if he had told them the spring was broken, they would've said that our warranty doesn't cover the spring. The guy that came out was very nice and very professional but we ended up paying $100 for the service and we had to pay another $180 because it wasn't covered by the warranty.

I would like for American Home Shield to add that to their questioning when you call in, "Do you know the area where the problem is?" By doing that, I would assume the person would've said they don't cover that under the warranty. But American Home Shield is very calming. They don't give a hassle. When we call, they're not trying to avoid us using the warranty. Some companies want you to take the warranty and as long as you don't stake a claim, they're happy with you. But soon as you stake a claim, they wanna give you the third degree about everything. American Home Shield is not like that and I appreciate that.

I have two houses and I had a claim recently for both of them. My AC was leaking in one house. It's super old and there are no serial numbers on it. The tech from Top Notch came out and he knew it was leaking. Instead of him reporting to American Home Shield, he put in a claim to get a new coil and a new drip pan. There's no make and model. Everything is worn off of it. I didn't know how he would get those items if there's no information.

I called American Home Shield and I explained. Unfortunately, I got someone who has a communication barrier due to culture. Then I had to make all the phone calls and I had to be communicating with the company. They are not very proactive on anything. Hopefully, they've gone back and forth with American Home Shield. Finally, American Home Shield understood that there's no make and model after Top Notch told them. So supposedly, they have half of the new heater/air conditioner, and they're waiting on the other half. The last time I was told, it had been ordered, and they had to cancel that order and reorder with a different company. It was gonna be another 7 to 10 days out.

I also had an air conditioner/heater unit claim at my rental house and everything went great. But it's winter weather so the people there are not really using the AC. The time before that, my hot water heater went out and American Home Shield took care of it immediately. It's a very good program to have. I have lots of confidence in the fact that if something goes wrong at my house, I don't have to shovel out a bunch of money, which is great. The bad part is that I don't have a say in who my contractors are. I've had some amazing contractors that come out, very knowledgeable, and they know what they're doing. Then this last time, I got one that is not so great. That's the only downfall.

I have American Home Shield on both of my homes. My mom and my dad and my sister have them too. They're good and I like them. They're quick and the process is easy. Recently, a guy came out to check my microwave. He turned it on and said he was gonna order the parts which he did. One part came and he came back out and thought that the other part had come. He called and they told him that the other piece was delayed.

Once that piece came, I called him back. He came back out and put the part in. Then he noticed when he opened the door that the piece on the side was broken that was why it wasn't warming up our food. He said he was going to put something in for us to order a new microwave. American Home Shield has sent me an email to look for a new microwave and I ordered the new microwave last week but I don't know when it's supposed to come. The guy said to contact him when it comes and they can put it together. It's been a journey but the experience was fine. The guy did what he was supposed to do and the reps answered all my questions.

When the man came out for my heater, he said all he had to do was push the reset button. He was in my house for less than three minutes. I was surprised that he was able to be in and out that quickly. He told me that all I had to do was push this little red button and reset it. But since it went out a couple of days ago, I've had two different son-in-laws come over and look at it. One said he couldn't even find the little red button. The other one said he pushed it, but it didn't work. I was going to call today and I didn't know whether to call the company directly or if I was supposed to go back through American Home Shield.

We had a dishwasher that stopped working and American Home Shield sent out a fellow. They said he was gonna be there at 9 o'clock and he came at 9:15, which was relatively close to on time. My wife dealt with him. She was very pleased with his knowledge of our particular dishwasher, understood what it was that it needed right off the bat and fixed it. Fixing it was rather simple once you knew what needed to be done and he took care of that. He educated my wife a little bit on the product and what it was she should do in the future. We felt comfortable with it and we've had no problem with the dishwasher ever since. It was great although I paid $133 for the call, which is a lot of money. I would like to see that down into the $85 range as opposed to $135 range.

We live in an area that’s about halfway between two cities on the ocean in North Carolina. So, we don't have a whole lot of local people to handle things like this. They always have to come from 30 miles away to help us, which tends to be an issue from time to time. There's not much you can do about it. It just happens to be where we live.

The first one who came out was very knowledgeable and he diagnosed my problem. Then, AHS wanted a second opinion to verify so they sent the second guy and he found the same issue. Golden Appliance was courteous, professional and friendly. But the attention to detail was not there. The technician installed a part and repaired the dishwasher door okay but the positioning of the dishwasher was not to its original position. It is set back about an inch too far into the cabinet space and it needs to be brought out another inch. So I need to call American Home Shield to set up another appointment for the technician to come back.

The American Home Shield customer service was professional and courteous. There was an interesting new practice that they put in place. They asked me to take pictures of the dishwasher and the area that needed to be repaired. Then when I called Golden Appliance about the status of the part that they needed to order, they mentioned that American Home Shield had taken over ordering the parts. So there might be potential delays with that process. Other than that, things went smoothly. It's a great service and safeguard for home appliances and other items in your home that have the potential for breaking. I'd recommend it.

I'm mostly unhappy with AHS and I might discontinue it. I notice the service has gone down in the last couple of years. I called for the latest issue and their automated system is faulty. When you put in your information, like your zip code, it would ask you to enter something valid. It's tough. You don't always get a live person right away and the automated system has got glitches. Then, when I'm trying to communicate an issue, I sometimes have a hard time. I talk to people halfway around the world and it's hard to understand, which is not their fault. Also, the fees keep going up for my monthly. I'm paying lots of money and I can't get somebody to come out for days. The warranty won't even work with me.

I filed an electrical claim for my lights and it hasn't been resolved yet because the lighting that was in question was working at the time the tech was here. It was hard to diagnose the problem. I don't have power upstairs and I told them I have small children here and to please authorize somebody outside to come in and take care of the work. But they said they couldn't do that and gave me the hardest time. They refused to authorize an electrician to come out and provide reimbursement. And when I tried to call the number that's provided, it reroutes me to a call center so there is no way to report a concern. I have no way to get in contact with anybody at the headquarters. They put me on extended hold and if you want a supervisor or higher up, they don't seem to exist anymore.

Also, they tried to find a loophole. They said they were sending out another service call because the issue wasn't resolved in 90 days. The rep kept asking me over and over again if it was about the lighting. She tried to find a loophole to charge me again. I told her I was very clear when I stated the issue the first time. I've made several calls and it's my entire upstairs. She went, “Was it this bedroom? Is it the hallway? The hallway is not included.” I told her the hallway is upstairs. I was so angry I almost canceled on the spot. I'm that upset about the warranty for what I pay.

I don't need the warranty constantly but it's nice to have if something breaks. But with anything that has needed repair over the last 12 years more than something surface, I've had to battle the home warranty. I didn't have air conditioning for the summer and they wouldn't cover the ductwork. It's been kind of a headache and I can't communicate that well with the people in the call center. One time, there was something that one of the representatives was saying that I didn't understand at all. It was a different word for something. I had to keep saying I didn't understand and to please repeat what was said. It makes me feel bad and it makes the representative feel bad.

The contractor for the ice maker had to order parts and so the repair took a couple of weeks. Everything is delayed with shipping so that wasn't a big deal. However, I'm a little concerned about the ice maker as it doesn't seem to make ice the way it did before. Regardless, AHS has a good program. Their fee is a little high for visits though.
