Purchased a Whirlpool low profile above range microwave mfg. date April 2023, picked up mod# WML55011HS07 at Menards on 02/16/2024. Unit shows an F1E4 error code and Whirlpool would not honor a warranty service call just 3 days past warranty. Fortunately, I have the skills to replace the junk relay switch soldered on the main board that commonly goes bad myself for less than $5.00. I'll be damned if Whirlpool will ever get another red cent of mine.

My Whirlpool slim microwave oven is a complete success. Powerful fan gets rid of the smoke from the range, microwave is quiet, sleak and beautiful, and now I can see the clock on my range. I purchased it at Lowe's and I did get a 5-year warranty.

I bought this Whirpool microwave in September 2023 and now on 8/24 THE INSIDE OF THE MICROWAVE IS PEELS. I SUBMITTED PHOTO. Whirpool is saying this is not a safety hazard. Whirlpool stated that only things they can do is paint the inside. This is still a hazards.

My microwave is 3 years and 1 month old. The door has broke internally and externally. Whirlpool states only 1 year warranty. My complaint is after 3 years of normal use this product should not fail. All Whirlpool will do is offer a discount on new microwave purchase or try to sell you an extended warranty plan for $390. I shouldn’t have to purchase either. Will file complaint with BBB, which won’t mean anything. Will not purchase another Whirlpool product because quality is very poor. Whirlpool should be better than this.

We have had this microwave since 2018. So it is approximately 5 years old. It has worked fine. Today we were cooking bacon in the microwave on paper towels and when we opened the door to remove the bacon the glass turntable made a loud pop and it busted in 2 pieces right down the middle. Very scary. What is this made of that it could just bust into 2 pieces? Obviously not microwave safe... right? I reported it to Whirlpool and their answer was there is no recall on this item and she would note it. I wonder if anyone ever reads the notes. To me that is not a very good answer for this kind of issue.
She transferred me to parts to get a new one. Still waiting for a call back...made the mistake of not continuing to hold. No they are not offering to replace it. I think they should regardless of warranty because this is obviously a defect. We have never done anything but hand wash this turntable so there is no good explanation. You wonder what this glass turntable was made of. This product is manufactured in China.

My expensive slim, over the range microwave oven doesn't work after just 3 years. At first I thought only the display was faulty, it went black. But the second time I used it without display, the food went on fire sizzling and smoking after 50 seconds. I have a service call scheduled to see if it can be repaired.

The control panel stopped working at 4 yrs old. Whirlpool did NOTHING to remedy the situation. It was the brand our home builder provided. My mom’s 1st microwave (1982) lasted longer than this hunk of junk.

I purchased this microwave from Home Depot. It was a nightmare from the beginning. It took over 2 months to get it installed, because they don't have "real" installers. After only having the microwave installed 4 months, it started sparking, not just once, but on 2 separate occasions. Home Depot would not warranty it, they said it had to be handled through Whirlpool. The first company Whirlpool sent out, they sent out a technician who told us we were not suppose to cook with the "rack" in it. My daughter told him that is why we bought one with a rack, and if we are cooking 2 items, that is when you use the rack! He was screaming at my daughter, who is 35, lied to Whirlpool and his company and just ordered a new rack. Whirlpool sent out another company to deal with my microwave. The new technician told my daughter and I that the cavity should be replaced.
We then get a call from his company, ASI, telling us that Whirlpool was sending the technician out with appliance paint, to only paint it. The technician just barely came today and he told us that he just came to paint and replace the rack which had a new design. Whirlpool told the tech, they did not have silver paint, only black or white (on their website they sell silver) so they sent him white paint and he told them that it would not go over well. Whirlpool covered nothing about the safety issue of it sparking. Nor was the lack of heating addressed (when using the double rack and two items which this microwave was bought for the microwave does not heat). So the technician used the appliance paint inside the microwave, which has multiple warnings such as: danger, flammable liquid and vapors, harmful, causes eye irritation. Harmful or fatal if swallowed!!
Even on their website it gives these warnings and warnings of it causing cancer and reproductive harm due to prop 65 and to be used ON appliances not IN appliances. Are they trying to kill us over this complaint?? I feel they are trying to poison my family. Why not just replace this microwave. Now I don't feel safe! This product (the paint) came directly from whirlpool, the technician also told us they said to reiterate not to use the shelf unless we had food on it, which I feel was a slap in the face, because I had already told them many times that was the only time I used the rack. He told us this is not the only one this is happening to from his personal experience and that whirlpool had him use a black paint on someone else's darker silver microwave. Whirlpool themselves told my daughter that they have had several customers calling in with this issue, that is probably why they changed their rack design!
I am including the pictures of the painted microwave and the paint product Whirlpool provided. This should be a recall item and they should replace everyone's rack that has this microwave, but they should replace microwaves completely that have damage caused by this faulty design or refund money if they put the poisonous harmful product inside their microwave. We contacted poison control and here is their concern: Among other things, the vapors can admit carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide from this particular product and it is definitely not safe to use "inside" an appliance that heats up, especially food that a human is going to consume. Please inform Whirlpool what they are doing is dangerous and can be deadly. Poison Control informed us NOT to use the microwave.

This microwave had been the best I have used for several reasons. One is the modern design that goes with our kitchen. Two: it heats the food very quietly and produced an even temperature through out the food. Three; The inside of the microwave is easy to clean out.

I purchased an over-the-oven microwave in November 2020 (Model # WMH31017HZ). It worked until March 2021 then began tripping breaker. The Safety department at Whirlpool stated that I have to get a dedicated circuit. After spending an enormous sum to get that dedicated circuit the microwave worked until April when just opening the door caused a spark that the electrician and I observed. By now I am sure that I purchased a defective unit but Whirlpool was not believing it. (As as aside, expect to stay on hold for at least 10-30 minutes when you call Whirlpool).
May 7th the serviceman from Guincho ordered parts that was needed to repair the oven. As of May 30th the part still had not arrived. Finally, after multiple calls and excessive hold time, Whirlpool agreed to refund my purchase price and as of this writing on July 26, 2021 I have not received it. In the meantime I purchased another brand microwave and have to look at their defective one until they decide to pick it up. They have lost a customer.

Our over-the-range Whirlpool Microwave (Convection-Type) died 17 DAYS after one-year-warranty expired BUT they're sending a local repair outlet out to fix it. I am very surprised... Thought I'd be stuck with a $700 boat anchor. Thank you Whirlpool for standing-by your product. BTW... My research indicates these microwaves die quickly if you use the convection option very often... So now we know better.

In my wildest dreams I wouldn't have expected that changing a burned out light bulb on a 7 month old microwave would put us out of commission for over a month. It's been 30 days now and I'm told it will be more than 2 weeks before the part comes back in stock. Whirlpool had such a good reputation years ago, but that's history. This is a disgrace.

The built-in microwave above the stove was in the home when we bought it seven years ago, so not sure how old it is. Although it had a crack in the door, near the handle, we've had not one problem with the unit. The crack has not opened more, or gotten longer, in the seven years we've been in the home. The unit is easy to clean, and has worked perfectly. It is simple to use, although no directions came with it, it was easy to figure it out.

We have had this microwave 3 years. The first thing we noticed was that baked potatoes were way overdone and nothing heated up correctly when using the sensor Not a big deal - just stopped using the sensor button. Now, we keep getting the open/close door message keeps coming up. I have done all the recommended fixes with no luck. Now we need to have a repairman come out to fix it. It seems when you are paying over $300.00 for a microwave, it should last longer. If I had known it would be such a poor quality, I would have bought a less expensive one and definitely a different brand. We do not use a microwave on a daily basis, so it certainly did not crap out from overuse. I would not recommend this to anyone. Save your money or you will be spending much more on repairs.

Never ever go for Whirlpool. It has the worst customer service. We brought an oven but accidentally we broke the inner oven plate. We called up the customer care person on 18002081800 and tried asking him the dimensions of the plate pr at least how we could reorder it. He never listened to us. He just got our details. Said that technician will come at 11am tomorrow and disconnected the call when we were trying to explain what our query is all about. Is that all the respect a customer deserves!? Is that how whirlpool trains their service people!? He doesn't even have the basic courtesy to listen to the customer, I wonder how was he even recruited as a customer care person. If you want at least your basic respect, please DON'T BUY WHIRLPOOL.

Our countertop Whirlpool microwave oven is just over two years old and one of the led lights in the clock display just went out. The push-button opening mechanism is very hard to work and quite loud when the door is shut. When the timer is set but the start button is not activated for a few minutes, the "door" warning goes on and you have to reset the timer. There are five beeps that indicate when cooking is done and they continue even when the door is opened. The only way to stop them is to push the stop button and there is no way to adjust the noise level or number of beeps.
