It works with local utility companies in seven states to provide green electricity and natural gas to businesses and homes. There is no cost to switch to Verde Energy, and prices are locked in for up to 24 months. There is also no cost to switch to another energy provider. Rebates are available for new customers.

Verde Energy was among the lowest rates and the best deals. There were no early termination fees. So, I went with them and I stayed with them. Being a green energy product is important to me as well. I was with them for a while and was searching around for somebody else. I was gonna switch and then when I called to ask some other questions, I was offered a better rate. So, I was like, "Well, okay, I'm just gonna stay with you guys then." I signed on for two years. I really do appreciate that there's somebody there to answer the phone when you call, which is not the case every place else. Customer service is huge with me. They could bring the rates down, but that's not in their control. So, I'm good with what I have right now. I'm pleased with it. I'm managing.

For the most part, the Verde Energy team members are okay, but I got irritated with the renewal process. If I don't change things, then I expect things to be the same, but all of a sudden, my price quadrupled. When I called to find out what was going on, they said, “Well, you didn't get back to us. We're charging you full price.” I got upset about that. I got some stuff in the mail and it was my fault that I didn't pay close attention to it, but Verde came down a bit and cut me a break.
This last year, I lost track of time and called a day too late. I didn't respond soon enough, and again, they wanted to charge me the full price anywhere from one to three months. They couldn't pin it down for sure, so they ended up pinning it down to two weeks. If I call and commit to it, I don't understand why that price doesn't engage at that time. Why is it an automatic “You're gonna wait till we get around to it” type of deal? If I don't call and change, why would they not pursue it? People get something in the mail, but it could get lost and they're not gonna know about it till all of a sudden, they get this bill that just knocks their socks off.
The bill that I got last time was more than I've ever paid for electricity at that house, and I've been there for 35-plus years. For the most part though, everything is fine, and as long as the price Verde is giving me is the best price that's going out there, that's all that matters. Just be careful because when a renewal comes, you might be caught off-guard like I was.

Verde Energy called and they said they could lower our bills so we decided to go with them. Customer service is usually polite and pleasant to talk to. We did pretty good with Verde. I have recommended them and told people that we're through them.

I have had no issues or negative experiences with Verde so I am pleased with your service. My contract is expiring next month so I hope I can renew at same rate or near that 0.08909 rate. If not I will be forced to shop around if yours goes a lot higher.

We got a very cheap energy deal with Verde Energy. Since we used them, our energy bill has been reduced between 70% and 80%. Every time that I called because I have questions when I would be renewing the contract, their reps were very professional. They were very available to answer any questions and give any information that we needed.

Beware!!! I suddenly realized my JCP&L bill was overly expensive this past summer for the month of August. When I carefully looked at my bill I noticed Verde was the supplier. I called JCP&L and was told Verde was my supplier and they were over charging me by more than 20 cents a kilowatt, which may seem like a small amount but on that month's bill I over paid for the electricity Verde was supplying to me by $500!!!
I was mortified. I immediately called Verde and was told that back in 2013 my contract was sold to them by Rescom and since I had not renewed my contract with Verde they just continued to increase my rates. I do not remember signing up for Rescom or Verde! I have no other recourse but to immediately cancel Verde and learn my lessons: do not fall for low rates that can be increased over time and check each bill with a fine tooth comb every month. Please do not allow this company to rip you off too... They may sell you a very good, competitive rate in the beginning but they will raise rates on you if you are not watching them carefully. I now just get my electricity through JCP&L and my bill is back down to where it belongs. Verde is bad.

I was online comparing rates and at the time, Verde had what seemed to be the right plan to pick. Their rates were not the lowest but I liked the program. Verde was fine. I had gas so we had heat in our house and warm showers. But their rates have changed and that's why I switched away from Verde.

Verde Energy's prices were less expensive. Their plans being green also played a little bit in why I chose them. My experience has been pretty good. When it's dark, I can see my way because I have light. I like Verde.

This is the equivalent of the gas station next to the airport that charges $6 a gallon. They get you in with a competitive rate but once your rate expires, they stick it to you. I was charged 5 times the normal rate for 2 months before realizing this. Shame on you for taking advantage of customers like this Verde!

I am happy with Verde, but somebody else gave me cheaper rates. They are giving me 11.79 for 36 months, for three years, and right now, I'm talking to them.

They're on terms so when I didn't realize my term was about to be up, I had a really large electric bill. It was because the cents per kilowatt went extremely high. It was over $100 just in that, which wasn't even from our usage. I said to them, “I'll stay with you guys if you give me a term or a really good low rate, but I need help paying for this.” and they were gonna send me a $50 gift card.
When anyone ever asked me how it is having the solar panels on top of an electric bill, I say you still are paying two providers monthly. But during the summer months, you might have some higher solar bills and then your electric bill is like 12 bucks a month. That goes credited into the winter months. My highest bill has been 150. Any time I run into other providers who are always at Walmart, I say I'm already rolled into a term with someone.

I am pleased with the service but I am upset that the rate doubled from last year. I am a senior on a fixed income and was told they could do nothing for me. Not great customer service. I would expect a little more for a so called valued customer.

If you are reading this review, please do yourself a favor and don't sign up with them. In my case, I had cancelled with Verde because of higher rates, they called me and wanted to know why. The gal was insisting that they wanted me to stay with them. Finally, I told her clearly, that I wanted to cancel them as supplier. Very high sales promotion in my opinion. The call was recorded!

I signed up online and the site was easy to navigate. I received a letter in the mail after I signed up with them, but I haven't noticed any difference in the services. Also, I've had them eight months and my bill is about the same.

Used to love this company, even referred neighbors/friends because of the great savings. Signed up again when our 2 yr contract was done. Not sure what has happened - but how did we use less energy this year but our bill is over $100 more???? 2020 use was 1598 kwh for a bill of $302 and this year 2021 we used 1376 kwh (222 kwh less), but our bill is now $408!!!! Never, ever in 25 years of living in this house was our bill ever this much. Not happy!

My experience with Verde has been excellent so far. I was originally locked in at a one-year rate with my other provider, but they were only willing to offer a six-month renewal for me and it was at a higher rate than a lot of the competitors. It was another cent and a half higher than what I was locked into the prior year before that I was paying too. When I brought it to their attention that other providers were offering at lower costs, they told me that there was nothing they could do for me. At that point, I had no reason to stay with them. There was no fee for switching at the time because my time of use was up, so I decided to go with Verde. It was mostly for the cost factor at the time and the fact that they were offering a locked-in two-year contract. That was awesome.

We were with FirstEnergy and we got some letter, which we found out later was from another company trying to scare us into picking them. We could have stayed with the same company we had, but we didn't because at that point, we thought FirstEnergy was no longer going to cover our area. I got online, and Verde Energy company was the cheapest. They gave us the best rate. It was a fixed rate and that's something else that we were looking into.
I signed us up for Verde and everybody's been super. I didn't have to call FirstEnergy to switch over. They took care of everything for me and I appreciated that. We also got a $50 rebate, but we're concerned because our electric bill is much higher than it ever was with FirstEnergy or with West Penn Power before that. During this pandemic, and with work being scarce and we're retired, it's tough with those electric bills creeping up. Other than lowering the rate though, we never noticed anything wrong with our past servers and everything has been smooth.

The last company I had was very good and while Verde Energy is 2/10 of a cent more, it's guaranteed for three years. That's what I like. I also sent in a rebate and I got it back promptly. When people ask me who I have, I tell them and I tell them I have nothing but positive experiences.

Being in the Northeast, we're depending on the West to have enough wind and solar power to make up the difference using Verde. This is the first time we're hooked up with them and we're gonna wait and see if the rates go up, then it could be an issue. We're signed up with them as an energy supplier through Met-Ed and they’re supposed to be energy efficient.
