My daughter's house has quite a long staircase and I can't do stairs. I happened to be looking through the Globe one morning and I saw Stannah Stairlifts had a big ad, so I called. I was hoping to have it installed September 1st, but the contractors took two months to finish what they were supposed to do and I didn't get the chair until the end of October. Their sales reps were great though. I had to have them come back a few times to show me how to use it and they had no problems doing that. I just got to know the stairlift well and now, I go up and down. The stairlift is straight and then it curves on the top of the stairway. It fits in perfectly. Although the cost was a little high, it was worth it. It works great and I'm very pleased.

I had chosen a company out of Denver but they didn't have a showroom nearby, so I went with Stannah. The sales visit was very good. They explained what they were about and the background on their company. It was good enough for me. Then, one gentleman came out for the installation and he was perfect. The stairlift fits fine into the stairway. I got it for my elderly father and the Stannah stairlift is convenient for him. He's getting up in years, so it's very good for him health-wise and energy-wise.

I have problems with my back and legs so I sought a stairlift. I liked what the reps from Stannah had to say. They were very informative and nice. I purchased a straight stairway from them which fits fine in my stairwell. Their installation team showed me how to use it. However, the half seat doesn't want to stay half folded. Still, since getting the Stannah stairlift, going upstairs has been much easier.

Stannah is absolutely reliable and I had a very good experience with them. My husband has Parkinson's disease and he can't get up and down the stairs. We needed a stairlift and somebody gave us their old Stannah stairlift. All I needed to do was get it put in. The Stannah rep came in and I had a wonderful impression on him. He measured the stairlift, checked it, told me exactly that it's in perfect shape and that it couldn't be changed facing the other side and then all I would need are batteries and a longer track. The installation went beautifully and the quality of the stairlift is excellent. I like that my husband can now get up and down the stairs.

I have aortic stenosis which is a narrowing of the heart valve that causes shortness of breath. So, after walking up six or seven stairs, I could feel it. I have a landing at the ninth stair but I decided to follow my father's advice years ago. He said there's a time to save and a time to spend. I celebrated my 90th birthday on October 17th and the Stannah stairlift was a present I gave to myself. Helga, a very long-time friend of mine who lives in Newton Centre had Stannah do her stairlift a number of years ago. Her mobility problems are much more serious than mine but I could see how her quality of life improved. She was very complimentary and very happy to hear that I followed through. Stannah is a company that has been around a long time and they’re doing something right if they lasted this long.

A technician came for the installation and he was very knowledgeable and congenial which was a good combination. He had it up very quickly. It was a first-rate procedure and I am definitely pleased. Especially since most men and women my age have short-term memory loss which is why my wallet and my house keys have been in the same place every day. Before the stairlift, if I forget something, I gotta climb upstairs and I would try to avoid climbing up but now, I'm like a little boy with a new toy. When my twin grandchildren came over, the first thing they wanted to do was ride up on the lift. The stairlift goes straight to nine steps and then there's a landing and it takes a very sharp left turn. I get off them and I walk up the final four steps. That has not been a problem but me and my younger son would like to know what the charge would be to extend it all the way.

I get breathless climbing stairs and I'm never quite sure if my legs and feet are gonna function properly so I needed a stairlift for myself. Two of the providers were in my neighborhood and then, the rep from Stannah came out to my house. She told me to read the reviews of Acorn which I did and I also read Stannah’s reviews. Even though it was twice as much money, I decided to go with Stannah. The installation went very smoothly. Two guys seemed intent on getting it perfect and making sure everything was correct all the way around. It fits perfectly in my home and the quality is good.

My father is a World War II veteran and 91 years old. But Stannah didn’t give any discounts for veterans or senior citizens. I was a little taken back by that. And they were very expensive. Two years ago, Acorn had given me an estimate for $3,000 and that was for a brand-new unit. But we needed the stairlift and Stannah was a reputable place. They were all very nice and wonderful too. The salesperson came and told me how it works. I also went for a trial run and the lady at the office was very nice. We decided to purchase the new unit and the installation took five and a half hours. The installers certainly knew what they were doing and they did a beautiful job. It was neat and clean. They also didn’t leave until I understood how everything worked. And they said if I had any questions or especially when my father got home and wanted another demonstration, to call the salesperson.

There was one thing that the salesman didn’t bring to my attention though. They tell you how to swivel the chair and that’s all well and good when you’re healthy and you’re able to get up and down. But when you’re at a certain age and you’re using a walker or a cane to begin with, swiveling the chair is one thing. Getting up and then hanging on to something is another thing. My father is 91 and he just broke his hip. He uses a walker to begin with. It’s not easy for him to get up from that chair and just go. He has to hang on to something and I didn’t realize that myself when we were talking about it with the salesman. I might have to put a safety bar alongside the wall for him to grab on to when he lifts himself up. That's my concern but that's something we'll have to deal with and that aside, everything went well.

My wife fell and broke her hip and it was hard for her to walk, so we purchased a stairlift. We liked our previous Stannah stairlift a lot and we went with them again. I called Stannah and talked to somebody who came out, looked at our stairs, and made a proposal. We got the straight model. I really appreciated the salesperson who was very informative and told me about the warranty. He told me about the post-sale services, which I may have to take advantage of. So, I was really very pleased with the whole sales process.

The sales visit and the process leading up to the installation was very easy. The reps that I spoke with were very professional and it was great dealing with them. The installation took half a day and didn't take long. The guy that put the stairlift in was very straightforward, professional and good. My wife likes the stairlift greatly. She used it yesterday and it worked fine. It's definitely worth the money and I'm happy with it. We're very happy with our overall experience with Stannah.

I have a very bad arthritis and had an accident. I’ve been in pain, and when I wanted to go out to go to the doctor and whatever I was asked to do, I couldn’t go down the stairs. I would also look and get dizzy. I felt like I was in prison. I saw Acorn on TV and it doesn't look too clumsy. When I told my husband about it, he went down on the internet and he said that they have bad ratings. He also said that people did not have nice things to say about them so we should forget about Acorn. He then kept looking until we found Stannah. At the same time, I kept saying that we have to do it. He was dragging me out of the front door on concrete and I wasn't ready. He knocked us both down. That moment we knew we had to eventually get a stairlift.

My husband tried Stannah and the salesman we worked with was very nice. I related to him. He explained everything, like what it was gonna do and that the installer was gonna come and stay here until I was ready to use it. The installer did stay because it was kinda scary. I was on the stairs, I was in a lot of pain, and I could also very easily break my neck. So, he stayed until I felt comfortable getting in and out. He kept repeating it.

So far, I'm perfectly happy with the stairlift. You could also send your groceries up using it. I used to drag up the groceries from the level downstairs and it was heavy dragging just the milk alone. Now, I could just put everything on the chair. The stairlift is kinda clumsy though, but we send it downstairs so it’s less in people’s way. I would recommend Stannah to anybody. It is giving me the freedom to get the hell out of the house. And both the gentleman who sold it to us and the gentleman that installed it were delightful people. They did a very good job.

Stannah was fantastic. I couldn't be any happier with them. The other one was Acorn. I inquired online and they harassed the hell out of me. They were calling me 50 million times a day, not leaving messages and leaving messages. It annoyed so much that I decided not to go through with them. On the other hand, when I contacted Stannah, they were out within a week and had everything done. They did a fantastic job installing, explaining and following up with us.

I have two little ankle-biter puppies so I kept them locked in my room with me while the technician was installing the stairlift. It was as quiet as it could have possibly been and it was done in a timely manner. I expected an all-day affair but it was done relatively quickly. The technician also explained to more than one of us how to move with care. He answered the questions we had and gave us a little magnet thing for the fridge in case we have a problem, which we did. We couldn't figure out something and when we called them, they answered the question and it was fixed right away. It was great. A wider staircase would have been better for me because when the stairlift stops at the top, there's not a lot of leeway there for anybody who is trying to go by. But the stairlift itself is fantastic. I don't have any complaints about quality or durability so far.

I had a good experience with Stannah Stairlifts and the person I dealt with was good. The stairlift we got from them was for my husband and myself. The reps were fine and knew everything about the stairlift. We had a lovely experience with them. The installation team was very good. I had to call the dealer that we purchased the stairlift from and they were very good on the service call. They answered our question and were able to help us over the telephone, and we got the stairlift to function again, although it had not stopped working. But now, they may have to come over because I'll discuss it with them. We are going to call them to take care of something that we think is the matter with the stairlift.

Other than that, the stairlift is doing its job exactly as we had wanted. Right now, we're very pleased at not having to step down steps and having our knees scream at us for help. Our Stannah stairlift is wonderful and it's adding a few years to our life. I would recommend it. We're telling our friends how happy we are and glad that we got the stairlift after our sons had tried to get us to do it for three years. They were insisting on it, so we gave in and it worked out well.

My husband is ill so we got a stairlift. I researched a little online and Stannah was the first stairlift provider that caught my eye. The sales rep was really good and he explained that we could rent the stairlift as opposed to buying it if we thought it would be short-term use. That made sense to us because my husband has terminal cancer, so that's what we did. Stannah told us ahead of time how long the installation would take. They also told us what we needed to set it up as far as the electrical and that they could provide that if we didn't have it. Then a young man came one day and put the stairlift in. He was clean and fast, and he explained how to use it.

The quality of our stairlift is really good and I definitely recommend it. It's much more than I expected. It's nice that it's so portable that we can put the arms up because it's on the stairway and I walk up and down the stairs, so even if he's on a different floor I can still use the stairs without it being a hassle. In addition, the cost was fair and the service was great.

Considering our age and looking at the price wasn’t gonna go down, we decided we might as well get a stairlift right then. We were planning ahead and I went out and got estimates. Stannah had a very solid product and gave me the better value for my money. I was also fortunate in that I happen to know somebody who had this brand so I could actually go there and see it. The person that I dealt with at Stannah was also very specific about the product and the process of installation. So we had a very good idea of what we were getting before we got it.

The installers were very helpful in explaining what they were doing and why they were doing it. The end product of the installation is somewhat intrusive just by the nature of it. But they made it as unintrusive as they could in the way the track is installed. Plus if we have guests, we can send the stairlift by remote up to the top. So the chair itself is not taking up space. Stannah was expensive and the price could have been cheaper. But we’re happy with it all the way around. At this point, we feel that it’s a very solid piece of machinery. In fact, I have recommended Stannah to others. They were very good and they did exactly what they said they could do.

Stannah Stairlifts has been in business for a long time and they were very prompt about getting me a quotation. It was very interesting though because one of the things that I was not happy about and I considered a black mark against them was they did not have anybody local in my area. But I found out in my checking around that there are a few fly-by-night operations that are guys who must be working out of their garage. The stairlift is a kind of a device that you don’t want a company or an installer that’s not doing it so often. It turned out that a friend of mine has an Acorn at his house in Queens and has been having a hard time getting somebody to service it.

One of the companies that I considered came very promptly and did whatever they do, but it took them eight days to get me a quote. I was in business long enough that I could smell the problems between the lines. However, Stannah was very prompt in calling back. There was also a person answering the phone, not an answering machine, and I got the quotation immediately after they arrived. They were prompt in all the areas. Their guy showed up early for the look-see and showed up early for the installation. You can’t go wrong with those.

We had a straight stairlift installed and we have a wide enough staircase that, with this chair and everything down, we can still walk by it. The only thing that I don’t care for so much is the vinyl seat covering. It has come off twice. It was not very well-designed and it would be nice if that was improved in some way. The color fits right in because our colors happen to be close to the unit’s color. The installer did a very nice job installing the stairlift and did a very thorough coverage of the things to look out for, and I was pleased. I was interested that the unit had a rack-and-pinion drive instead of a worm drive, but since it has a sectional track, it makes slightly different noises at different sections of the track. There is something not perfectly aligned, but it seems to be running fine. It has gone up and down at least 20 times.

The Stannah stairlift has allowed my wife to go back upstairs again. We have a master suite upstairs and for a while, she was unable to do the stairs and we had moved into our guest room down below. She wanted to get back upstairs and the stairlift has allowed us to stay in our home. I have not needed a service call and that’s the only place where I had questions since they don’t have a local office, but since the fellow who came to do the measuring and the fellow who did the install were early, it gave me a bit of good feeling about them showing up if I have a service issue. The other issue for me is we have power outages much more regularly than anywhere else and the battery thing isn’t a good piece of the design of the unit. Still, Stannah has been doing the chairlifts longer than anybody else and they’re pretty together. I thought Stannah was the best and, so far, I have not been disappointed.

We have had a Stannah stairlift for about 18 years. Towards the end, we had a few issues but we had no complaints with it at all. We ordered a new one about three months ago. We didn't even look elsewhere because we loved our other one. We took a unit out on a six-month rental and then we were gonna buy it after the six months. The man who came and sold it to us was very nice. They were very cooperative and everything was wonderful.

However, this unit is absolutely nothing like the other one I had! First of all, the stairlift is made with what appears to be rinky-dinky plastic. The seat before was somewhat cushioned but with this one, there's no cushioning at all. Fat people are not the only ones that use these. A lot of these things are used by people with diseases. My husband has multiple sclerosis and if you have a neurological disease, most of the time, your body starts breaking down after a while. My husband can't sit on this thing that's as hard as a rock. What they call a cushion is not even for a baby. Never mind somebody who doesn't have any meat on their behind anymore. We had a home health aide here last week and he wanted to take my husband upstairs for a shower. But my husband said he would rather be washed up because he can't sit on that seat.

Number two, Stannah has also shortened the part that you rest your foot on. Before, you were almost at a 90-degree angle when you sat on the chair. Now, you almost have to tuck your feet under. If you're paralyzed, things like that are very difficult. Number three, the seat before was a nice, heavy-duty seat. When you put it up and you weren't using the stair glider, it stayed up. This thing here keeps falling down. These are major issues. What I'm complaining about is the overall comfort and configuration of the chair for a handicapped person. The motor might be good but the concept of it is nowhere near what it used to be. The other one that I had was comfortable. It was well-made and it didn't have all this plastic. For people who are handicapped, it's useless. This one is definitely made much cheaper and yet, it's $1000 more than it was. I definitely would not buy them first off, not for the comfort.

My mother-in-law has moved in with us and we sensed a stairlift was gonna be needed. I looked at Stannah's website and saw what they offered. The salesman did a great job. He came to the house, spent about an hour with us, and went over a lot of information with us. He was really good with my mother-in-law and myself. He measured some stuff ahead of time and said what the issues we might need to address if we decide to go with Stannah. He said we have to have an outlet put in over at a certain area and I said that there’s an outlet on one side of the stairwell. So he said the installers would figure it out and tuck it away.

He also took the time to go over everything with us and let us asked every question no matter what it was about. He was so funny too and I really liked him. But we didn’t seal the deal until I took my mother-in-law to the office in Franklin, to have her sit at the chair, look at them so she would have an idea what we were getting into. We lived in the next town over Franklin, MA which comes in handy in case something goes wrong.

I was present only when the installers first came and then I had to leave. But my mother-in-law said that they were great and in the short period of time that I had with them, I explained where the battery was gonna go. They said that they would make it all nice and seamless. They put cover on the wire and did a fantastic job. I’m very pleased with the installation. They were also very nice and receptive. One even said that they might have to drill against the rug and might pull it.

We tested the stairlift a couple of times once it was installed while they were here. When my husband rode it, it stopped at the top and something had shorted out. So while the guys were here, they fixed it right away and since then, we had no issues. We got a curved stairlift and so far, I’m very pleased with it. My mother-in-law has her own space in the basement wherein she has everything like a full bath and a kitchen. So the stairlift was for a basement stairway which is a bit narrower than a typical stairway with just so many steps, then a landing, and then three more steps. The remote is a nice feature at the top and bottom of the stairs. When the chair is curled, wrapped around, out of the way, everybody could come in and out. However, we wouldn't be able to move furniture in and out that way. We have to go up to the bulkhead.

In general, it has worked great and seems very durable. Even the physical therapist who comes to help my mother-in-law was totally impressed with it. And she sees quite a few ‘cause she has a clientele of the older group as well. The stairlift costs $11,400 which is pretty expensive, but if it does the job and the quality stays as good as it has been so far, I see it as a good investment.

We actually had to start using it a lot sooner than we thought so the timing was pretty good. The stairlift had a positive impact on my mother-in-law because she had a couple of weeks wherein she had serious knee pain and getting up and down the stairs was tough. And there was one point where she actually couldn’t even walk to the chairlift. We had to carry her to it. So in that extreme situation, it was a Godsend that we had it. It has also alleviated her work to get up the stairs, therefore making her probably more like, “Okay. Yeah, we can go ‘cause I have that to get me up to the main level.”

I’ve recommended Stannah Stairlifts to another person who told me some very surprising things from another top-selling chairlift company. They came to her house to give her an assessment and a quote. She told me some information that the other chairlift company told her and I was in shock. They didn’t mention to her about a battery pack, which they offer, and said that if she loses power, she should look in to getting a generator. I said that the stairlifts run on batteries. I also said, “You leave the chair on. It charges all the time. If you lose power, you’ll have multiple trips up and down the stairs. The battery lasts plenty of times for that.” So I said she has to go with Stannah because they'd come out and explain everything to her and have every answer for her questions and she could buzz over to the next town over 'cause she was in a town also very close to Franklin

He discussed the fact that they were the only manufacturer in the industry that manufactures as well as install the products. He took his time and he was very thorough and he explained everything. Also, the price was right.

Then, the installers came and they were awesome. They demonstrated how to operate it. We had a curved custom stairlift installed and it's huge. The rails look like something from a rollercoaster in an amusement park, but it works just fine. Where my sister lives, she gets off of the chair on the landing and switches to a different chair on the stairlift but she doesn't have to that with Stannah's and she really likes that. She also likes the automatic footrest, which the other one does not have. I would recommend Stannah to anybody that needs a stairlift.

Their sales rep was very nice and very helpful and he answered my questions. I had a very good experience with him. We had a straight stairlift installed and it gets me and my wife upstairs and down. The installer was also very nice. He knew what he was doing and was very efficient. We only had one little service call since then. These things are not inexpensive but I am getting what I paid for. It does what it is supposed to do and it is gonna help our quality of life. I would recommend Stannah.

My disabled husband was having a hard time walking up the stairs so we purchased a Stannah stairlift. Their salespeople came out and they were very good. They explained things to us and were very well informed about the product. They have good manners and were not too pushy. The installers came when they said they were going to come. They were also very neat about the job. They brought all the package materials out of the house when they left. It was excellent. We have them installed a curved stairlift and it fits a little tight in our home. But it’s an old house so the stairs are not wide and the Stannah people explained that to us when they came in and measured.

I like the utility of the stairlift. It’s doing exactly what they told us it would be. We’ve only had it for a short while but we haven’t had any problems with the use of it. It’s very easy to use and the mechanics of it, for what we have to use, are very simple. It was expensive, and I know that there are other systems that are cheaper. But Stannah had good reviews. We wanted it to be useful and not have to worry about it. I could recommend Stannah.

My wife was having difficulty getting up the stairs so we got the stairlift from Stannah. I’ve done business with them previously and was well satisfied. During the sales visit, the individual was experienced and familiar with the equipment that was available, knew exactly what measurements to take and did this efficiently. The installation team did a good job and did it quickly. I like that Stannah stairlift facilitates my wife in getting up and down the stairs by herself without having to have manual assistance. It has made her somewhat more independent, and that leaves me free to do other things like cutting the grass.

10 days ago, I gave a call to the salesperson and pointed out to him that there were a couple of minor defects that were not significant but it was something that they should know about so that they could correct it and they wouldn’t have people being bothered by it in the future. The pad on the seat had poor stitching and did not have any way to be secured to the structure of the seat itself, something that could be easily solved with a couple of Velcro attachments. He indicated to me that he would get back to somebody in the company and that I would hear from them. That was quite a while ago and I have not heard from them. Other than that, I would give Stannah a good recommendation. However, if someone says that they like the competitor better, I would not argue with them about that.

A stairlift was a necessity for my elderly parent. After I called the Stannah national number, I got a call from a local rep and we discussed the situation. Then she came over, examined everything, laid out the options, and gave me pricing. She also followed up with me while I looked at the competitor and decided to go with Stannah. Then she called me multiple times to confirm installation. They were more informed and had better service. The quality of the straight stairlift is very good and I like the battery back-up. However, it doesn't leave a lot of room left for other things. It would be a little tight if you had to carry groceries or stuff and you couldn't walk down alongside it.

My parent passed away and never got a chance to use the Stannah Stairlift. The rep coordinated with me when I had it removed. But when I went to see if there was a way for me to get a credit, the rebate policy was absolutely horrendous. I spent about $7,500, and it was never used not even a month later. But I was only able to get 30% of my money back. I would highly recommend Stannah Stairlift to people whose parents were generally healthy and might be around to use it for a year. But if they were in a situation where they weren't sure, I probably wouldn’t do it.

I have sciatica and I can’t climb stairs right now, so we decided to purchase a stairlift. We also chose it as an investment. We had installed it in what is gonna be an apartment for my wife next to the house, so we want it for the long term and that’s why we chose an expensive one. When the salesperson talked to me and explained the advantages of Stannah, I was persuaded. She was a good salesperson. She persuaded us that the other options were less expensive but less well-made and that Stannah was custom-made for the setting and, therefore, was a better long-term investment.

Our stairlift is indoor and it’s curved. It goes up three flights and curves around two of them. Since the installation, the stairlift has been working fine and I like its reliability. I can tell it’s well-built and well-engineered. I also expect it to be trouble-free for a very long time. It was a nice solution to a problem. I like things done well and this has been done well. Also because of the fact that it’s custom-built to fit a stairway, we know it’s the way it should be.

Stannah has a showroom that has all the different stairlifts lined up and I narrowed it down to a couple of them before I even went there. Once I physically saw and touched it, and rode on the different ones, I got a feel for it and that was very convincing. Going there made a difference because the Stannah stairlift cost a bit more money than the others and I was pretty much set on the other one that was less expensive. The gentleman I dealt with wasn’t high pressure and we had a lot of things in common. He understood the business and what he said was what happened as far as installation.

I got the Siena 600 straight stairlift and it didn’t make as much as noise as I thought it might. It also folds up closer to the wall than I anticipated. I thought it was gonna be more intrusive than it is. It makes it easy to go up and down the stairs and it impacts my wife more than it does me because she does it more than I do. Our garage is under the house so any time we go shopping or to laundry, it’s downstairs. The stairway that they put in goes from the basement to the first floor. Once you get to the first floor, everything is on that one floor but you have to enter the house from the cellar.

It annoys me though that the remote controls are VHF. You have to have a minimum of stairwell and it has to be aimed right at the chair to make it work. The buttons are installed on the outside and I didn’t wanna have to go into the stairwell to push buttons to make the thing work. The remote won’t work unless you have it in the side there, so I have to take it out, hold it in my hand, aim it up the thing, and wait for it go up and down. It could have been solved with a different type of frequency such as that of the television remote. You don’t have to aim it at the TV anymore. As long as it’s in that room that you’re in, it changes the station. When you’re paying the extra money above what competition was, that was a feature that they should have.

The chair that I got is not the top-of-the-line. It’s a middle one and the handles that you pull to swivel it to the left and to the right is just a little stick. For the money, it could’ve had hand grips on it that would make it a little bit more appealing. When I called about it yesterday, they said that for $700, I can get another option. I’m not paying another $700 to have a better handgrip on the handle. It’s just not that big a thing. I’ve been trying to buy some to see if I could put them on but the pipe is less than half an inch so that it’s very small. I went to some fabricators and they could very easily make them to fit that bar and they’re less than a buck. For an extra buck, you could have a handgrip that would look half decent and be easy to use. So, they should have investigated that.

We use it extensively, but there’s this occasional mysterious bumping noise towards the bottom. We’ve put in a few service calls because of that and the technicians have worked over it earnestly and can’t find any defects. So we just accept that we will have these few bumps or noises. But, the service people who have come have been very good and thoughtful. They spend the time and effort to make sure that they’re not missing anything serious that will lead to a breakdown. We might call again if that would still go on. But at present, it operates very well, its features are very good, and that we are pleased with both the stairlift itself and with the service people who have come.

The Stannah chairlift is overpriced, but it is the only one that has the power swivel. I could’ve bought a similar one for $2,700 and I even liked the chair from their competition, but they didn’t have the power swivel. When the visiting nurse and physical therapist came over, I showed them the Stannah chairlift and told them that we paid 30% more than what we could afford because of the power swivel. And the physical therapist said that this was probably the only safe one because, on a lot of her clients’ homes, the person living with them that would use a chairlift would have to pick it up and down, otherwise they could fall down the stairs and cause a severe accident. I also like that the rail on the Stannah chairlift is protected which makes it a nice unit. I have dogs and a lot of dog hair. With the other chairlift brand, I know that they can get a lot of dog hair in it because it doesn't have a cover over the rail.

The salesman that came to the home was above personable. He was a typical salesman who knew the right things to say, but he was very nice. And the person that installed the chairlift was extremely nice, as well. I thought a curved chairlift would work but with the way the house was constructed, it would walk down the stairs and be in the way. My husband has wheelchairs, walkers, and a transport chair. And it would not be easy for him to access a curved one. We have the straight chairlift instead and it is perfect for the application.

In the beginning, I didn’t think the Stannah chairlift is well worth the money, but I do now. I am thrilled with it and it has been a godsend. I recommend it to other people that are looking at chairlift. I also told people if they wanted to see mine, they could come to my house and look at it before they would let one of the other chairlift companies to come in.

I thought it was just gonna be parallel. I realized after I’ve got the stairlift that when I was at the top of the stairlift and then going into the basement, it would be at an angle because I wasn’t strong enough to pull it around straight. And then I said, “Well, that’s the way it’s supposed to be,” which I didn’t believe at first but then I ended up believing it.

My husband got meningitis and he can’t walk. Our house has three flights of stairs to get to our second-floor apartment so we are renting three Stannah stairlifts. I liked their rental agreement with the option to buy back the stairlifts after we are done with them or if we decide to sell the house. Their price was good too. The salesperson was responsive and offered the best advice. Stannah helped assess my whole property. They helped look around to see if there were other options that we could use and they were not quick to tell us to get three stairlifts which were a lot.

We were gonna get two Stannah stairlifts and a “walking wheelchair” since we have three flights of stairs and one empty side into the street but Stannah would not install the walking wheelchair unless we had a permit from the city that it empties onto a proper sidewalk. A guy recommended me to take a picture of a potted plant at the bottom of the stairs and go to the city with the picture so they would give me a temporary permit for the installation. The city gave us the permit and we were able to just do Stannah stairlift instead of getting the ridiculous walking wheelchair which we really didn’t wanna purchase. It was more expensive.

I mainly worked with the guy named Tony and he was very personable. He came and did the measurements but he made one wrong measurement so the installation was delayed one day but it was quickly corrected. They came out and did it by the time my husband came home so all was good. The installers hustled and made sure that it was good. They were professional and did their job.

Also, an electrical cord had to be buried underground for one of the stairlifts outside. They did it in sections and Tony told me to buy some PVC piping at Home Depot. But when one of the guys came out to do one of the sections, the guy told me to instead call an electrician and have him do it. It was something that should have been recommended at the get-go. It took a bit of finagling to get an electrician out quickly in the summertime but I got them and everything worked out fine. The stairlifts fit in our very narrow staircases and they work great. The installers were also able to demonstrate it multiple times. My husband wasn’t home yet but the physical therapist got here and we practiced. I had a very positive experience with Stannah Stairlifts.

Stannah's salespeople were very well-informed about the products and the features. They came prepared, answered all the questions and gave me an estimate. I chose the company for the quality of the salespeople. Then the installation was easy and quick. It took the installer about two hours and once everything was installed, the guy walked me through, once again, the features, the operations and the safety features. So overall, it was a very good experience. The stairlift also seems to be well-built and it works properly so everything seems to be fine. My wife uses it and she seems to be happy.

A Stannah Stairlifts rep came over seven years ago and explained everything to us beautifully. So when we were ready to get one, we called and asked that same fellow. He then asked us why we waited so long and I told him that I used to take the stairs two at a time but I couldn’t do it anymore, and my husband was having a tough time at 92 years old. We have a little sitting room for television downstairs and on the second floor, we have a full living room, two bedrooms, and the bath. So now, we needed a stairlift. We requested for him to come which he did, and he was excellent. The Stannah Stairlift is very good and we don’t have to climb the stairs anymore.

The Stannah rep who came to my home was very informative. I got a stairlift from them and the installation went very smoothly. I was happy with it. The guys who came showed me how to use it and it was very easy. My system goes around all the way from the downstairs all the way up my whole flight of stairs and makes turns at corners. It’s not obstructing anything when it’s parked up on the main floor or downstairs in the basement. It has a nice-looking seat. Also, it's safe and very sturdy.

I have a lot of nerve damage in both my legs and I have a lot of trouble walking. My house is bi-level so it's 18 steps coming up from the street and another 5 more stairs after I get in. That's a lot of stairs and so in order for me to stay here, I had to get a stairlift. If I've been out and I'm very tired, it's very difficult to climb. The Stannah Stairlift I got has been a godsend because when I'm in that position, I can come ride up on it. I'm very happy with it and it has been very helpful. I recommend them.

My 95-year-old mother was gonna be released from rehab within about a 10-day timeframe. I spoke to a couple of different stairlift companies and the first one that I called could not guarantee that they could do the installation on time. I then called Stannah and their representative indicated to me that they could more than likely get it done on time. I arranged to have somebody come out to the house to do a physical inspection and they quoted me prices. We were in a bit of an emergency situation and it was one of those situations where it was definitely a seller’s market. I just agreed to do it. I was also told that I have six months to make the decision whether we're gonna ultimately purchase the stairlift or we're gonna rent it.

However, we had one horrible incident on a Friday afternoon. The stairlift got stuck halfway up the stairs. When I called Stannah, I got an answering service. Unfortunately, the person who answered seemed totally unaware, in spite of the fact that she was staring at a computer screen, that there was an emergency number that could be called and that since it was a weekend, I might have to pay for the service. But under the circumstances, I would've paid anything because my mother was stuck halfway up the stairs. It would have been nearly impossible to get her out of that stairwell. I spoke to somebody up at the Massachusetts location and they informed me about the emergency number. They were horrified that I didn’t get the correct information from the answering service. I never heard back from them again either. But we haven't had a problem since a representative came out on Monday. Everything seems to be under control now.

Our elderly mother fell down the stairs and we wanted to put a chairlift in there to make it easier for her to get up and down the stairs without actually walking it. The reps at Stannah were informative, nice, and helpful. They explained some of the uniqueness of our particular staircase and some of the options that were available if we wanted them. Then, the installation went exactly the way they said it would. It took a couple of hours in the morning to install the indoor straight stairlift and it was done by noontime.

Once it was installed, the installer showed me all the remotes and the different buttons on the chair and how to put the footrest up. So, I know how to use it and my brothers and sisters also know how to use it. Once in a while, our mother may need a little help. She knows how to sit down and push the button on the right armrest in the direction she has to go, but she is not too good at pulling the lever that allows the chair to swivel. At this point, we're on a rental agreement with Stannah and when the six months is up, we'll make our decision where we go from there. So far, it's been a struggle to convince our mother to use the stairlift. She is very stubborn and keeps on saying that she doesn't need that. But she knows that it is there for her and all of us are constantly reminding her that she has gotta use the stairlift. Other than that, our experience with Stannah has been fine.

I did all this by phone and as soon as possible as I promised my wife it would be done for her when she got out of the hospital.

Well Norman ** was excellent to deal with and was calm and compassionate and gave me what he felt would be best for our situation. The deal was wrapped up and installation was as quick as promised. It's an awesome lift the Model 600 Siena and easy to use. I was so grateful. It was solid and comfortable and the installer gave us a good training session and even came back when we needed just a bit more less space between the last stair - he was able to make an adjustment to make the lift perfect. It was so easy to operate. I can't imagine a better product than this one in this market.

The Stannah stair lift is a first class product with a first class operation. My wife had been going through a difficult time. She had a number of serial hospitalizations. She also had been having gait and balance issues and had some falls. So, I decided to purchase a stair lift. Stannah Stairlifts seemed more of a first class company. The sales person who I worked with had something to do with my decision to go with them, as well as the reviews that I had read. There was even one company that had more, but I was impressed with what I saw about Stannah being a professional and quality organization.

Edwin, the rep who I spoke with, was professional. He was certainly very pleasant. I didn’t have to pressure him to get the information and full disclosure about all the aspects of the product and the coverage. He was very open and easy to talk to, and he listened. Then we also went to the showroom and that was an important part of our decision-making. My wife was able to try out the product and there were a couple of products there in the showroom. I wanted to make sure that that would work for her and the other companies didn’t have that option. That was certainly an additional plus. We got the straight stair lift and the top-of-the-line in terms of the extra features in the stairwell. It electronically turns the swivel. Also, the installation person was very pleasant, helpful, and worked with me, making certain adjustments in terms of the remote control unit.

We got the stair lift between my wife's second and third hospitalization. But finally, when she came home after her last and the most recent hospitalization, which was the beginning of June, that was really when she began to use the stair lift the most. It was very important because obviously, she gained access to our upper level in the house where our bedroom is. It was much better than just being a captive downstairs and with everything that goes along with that, but the story has an ironic twist to it because within a month after she came home the last time, her condition improved profoundly in a lot of ways and she doesn’t need the stair lift any longer. It has been quite a miracle.

We had to think about it because we weren’t sure if we wanted to buy it and whether we wanted one or two of them. We ended up calling her back and we rented one of the straight stairlifts.

The people were nice and the installers were very nice. When I had a problem with it, a gentleman came out, went through it and made sure that everything was working. All it needed was a little adjustment of a screw, which was too tight. The only things is when we’re coming down the stairs, the stairlift stops where the two pieces meet for some reason. You have to go off and then push the thing to get it to go back down the rest of the way. Sometimes it does that but sometimes it doesn’t. It’s finicky. But on the other way, I don’t have a problem.

My boyfriend says now that sometimes he wishes he never got the stairlift. He can go down the stairs now but he gets very tired. Besides, he did use the stairlift and I think the stairlift is great. In fact, I'd tell others that if they need a stairlift, get the Stannah one. I use it everyday because I've got bad knees. We purchased a stairlift from Stannah for him based on reviews of the product. Their representatives were all professional. When we got the stairlift installed and then I looked at it, I realized that the way the stair lift was didn't make sense because if it came down the stairs, it's going to the kitchen or the dining room. The stairlift is on the right side when it comes down but then my father has to get up, close it, and push it back up to get it to the kitchen which is very difficult. It should have been put on the other side, and that should have been discussed initially. Another issue that we had was the option discussion of an automatic swivel. I'm having them come back two weeks from now to put this automatic swivel and perhaps it will make it functionally much easier for him to use.

The salesman should have discussed the options, what happens, and how it works. I never really knew about the automatic swivel until after. The installation team did what they were supposed to. They had to come back to move the stairlift from one side to the other side. When I called to have them move the stairlift from one side to the other, I also mentioned to talk about any automatic swivel but somehow that wasn't communicated to the staff so they weren't prepared for that. We knew Stannah's product and thought they were the best company, and so far, we still think that. The rep came out, told us about the situation and explained everything to us. We made a downpayment at that time and then when we got everything ready in the house we were living in, we contacted them again. We needed to put in an electrical switch and put a platform in, and they came out within a week once we got everything set up. We were very pleased with the way the tech installed everything and the conscientious way that he did his work. He was very good at letting us try it all out and in answering a lot of questions so we felt very confident when he left that we would be able to handle everything.

Our stair lift is straight and it's an interior one. We happen to have a nice wide stairway and it works very well. It's made going up and down considerably easier for both of us. It also looks first class. We put a lot of money down but it was a good investment, and we know that if we need to take it out of this home, it could be removed and we would get some compensation. The whole process has been very positive and we're very pleased that we made the decision to install it. Everybody at Stannah knew their job and was very professional. They did an excellent job. I would recommend them to anyone who is considering doing this.

Stannah is certainly worth having. My wife wasn't able to go up and get down the stairs and I wanted to purchase a stairlift. A neighbor recommended Stannah to us, and we had a very satisfactory sales visit. The rep recommended something and we went along with it, and the installer did a good job installing the straight stairlift. So far, everything is working fine.

My dad was getting older and had some mobility problems. Also, my parents live with me when they’re not in Florida during the summer so I decided to purchase a stairlift. We looked at another company and they were obnoxious as far as calling four times a day. On the other hand, Stannah was very informative and fair. They were great to deal with from start to finish and any questions I had, they always followed up. The installation of the stairlift went great, smooth and easy. We didn’t even know that any work was done at all. It went into the carpet so there was no drilling in the walls.

We have the curved stairlift which goes up the stairs from the first floor of my apartment and it fits perfectly into the home. I like that there is a safety feature in the stairlift when it gets to the top. The way it turns, it blocks the stairway, so if you lose your balance, you wouldn’t fall back down the stairs. Everybody from sales to customer service was wonderful. My mother had a question about the way the door closes after the stairlift was done and Stannah’s people came out, fixed and took care of the whole problem. Stannah was great to work with and I recommend them highly.

We have two flights of stairs, and someone recommended Stannah Stairlifts. The interactions I had during the sales visit was good. The rep explained how the stairlifts work and measured it out and said they could do it, so we went with it. We got two straight stairlifts, and one has to have an arm on it so that lifts away from the door. However, one thing seems to be not the way the manual says it does, but other than that, everything works fine. We’ve had it for less than a month already, but it is very adequate for the job. It also says it will take people that are 300 pounds. We needed the stairlifts and they work. I’m very satisfied and I probably would recommend it.

I bought a curved stairlift from Stannah Stairlift mainly because of the company's reputation but during the sales visit, I was told that our stair rail was on the blueprint and that it will remain in place. At no time during that process did I get a copy of that blueprint. I had the chair rail removed prior to the installation so when the installation was made, the chairlift was installed away from the wall, which means that I can’t really use it the way it is now because it’s too close to the wall on the other side. The gentleman who measured it should have taken that into consideration but he didn’t. Now I’m being charged an additional $1,500 to have the chair rail moved. That's not fair and it’s almost fraud because I was not told that the chair rail would remain on that wall or I would have told them that I was going to have that chair rail removed so they have to adjust their measurements.

We have a three-story condo. I'm 80 and my wife is 77. When we bought the condo, we were healthy and fit. But then, I had a terrible spinal disease and had operations in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015. I also ruptured my knees and I had to have those put back together and I'm walking with a walker unsteadily. I can't do stairs with them. It also happens that I'm a psychiatrist who has an office on the bottom floor. But I can't run when the people come in and I didn't want to move. So my wife angrily said that we needed a stair rail. I knew of Stannah before and I had a patient whose wife had a tumor for a lot of years and she got along with them. In the last five years, she needed a chairlift and this patient is a mechanical engineer and he had vetted everybody and looked over the prints and I figured, if it's good enough for an avid trained mechanical engineer, it was good enough for me.

Stannah's sales rep was marvelous. His name was Tony and he had explained every step of the way with the cameras and the computers and the 3D drawings. I would have sooner bought from a fellow like him than from someone with a suit with a tie. And then Brad and Joe installed it flawlessly, not noticeably and it runs fine. The building was built in such a way that one rail goes from the bottom to the top. So, that was very curved around a lot of corners and landings but all we need is one chair so you don't have to get off or have to change. All in all, the Stannah stairlift is comfortable and easy. It also has a fair price. It's a proprietary product and well-made. It's made in the shop, so there's no mess. Most of all, it solves the problems we have.

My brothers and I bought a Stannah stairlift for our parents and they are really enjoying it. They were having difficulty with the stairs and we were very anxious that one of them would fall. The straight stairlift truly has made a huge difference. Also, I appreciated the salesman's flexibility in working with us. He came to give us a free estimate and he talked to me even though I wasn’t the customer who’s gonna use it. He was also willing to adjust his presentation to 5 minutes for my parents. The installation of the stairlift went quickly and professionally and one of my brothers who was there was very pleased. My mother has been using it every single day, and she’s very happy with it. My father has dementia so my mother goes to the stairs with him if he uses it. One of its key features is that she can call it from upstairs and back down again, which is terrific. Now, we're a lot happier having the stairlift and we have the peace of mind that they are safer.

A physical therapist gave me the name of Stannah Stairlifts, so we went with them and we had two indoor chair lifts installed. I called Stannah and a woman rep, Michelle, came to my house. She looked at the property and she was quite helpful. But we had some back-and-forth in scheduling the installation date and it looked like there was some delay caused. Ultimately, however, the process was fairly seamless and very straightforward. Everyone was super helpful and very nice. A gentleman came and it took him five hours to install the two chair lifts. He was very friendly, nice and professional.

We got two refurbished or used chair lifts. The first one is good because we can control the footrest and the seat separately. That was what I was supposed to be getting for both chairs, but once they had been installed, what I didn't like was that with the second chair, the footrest and the seat must come down together, which makes it difficult for my mother to get onto this chair lift because she can’t walk very well. So, instead of being able to sit down and then put her feet on the footrest, she has to back in to the footrest, which was annoying. This chair is a bit older too and part of the casing fell off the first time we used it.

I mentioned all these to the salesperson and she said we could get someone out to change the chair. But that didn’t seem like a good use of anyone’s time, so I just put a piece of a plastic taping onto the console to deal with the problem. Also, I didn’t love the fact that they had to drill holes into our stairs to install the railing, but there was nothing that could be done about that. But other than that, the chair lifts we got are fine and we’re happy with them. It has only been a month or so since our chair lifts were installed and hopefully we won’t have any mechanical or operational issues for another six months. If things continue to be all right, we’d very likely recommend Stannah to someone else. Their chair lift seems to be a well-thought out and well-designed product, and the spacing is minimal.

We have two straight stairlifts with the split house so you come and there’s an entrance hall and steps up and steps down.

The installation team were very efficient. They really got it close to the wall as you can possibly get it. My husband was able to use it a little bit before things just got really too bad and we ended up in a hospital. But it will probably be one of the reasons he allowed to come home. The stairlift works exactly the way they say it would and it's fine. And they seemed to put a lot of safe guides into it too. I would recommend Stannah. We haven't had chance to use it much but everything we have experienced so far seems exactly what we wanted.

I had some medical issues and needed a stairlift just to help get up and down the stairs. Stannah Stairlifts' sales reps were excellent and knowledgeable. I wish it would've come a little sooner. They said they'd put a rush in, but it would be something that has to be specifically designed. They gave me an estimate which was expensive, but they have a good reputation so we still went with them. They also said that sometimes we could get a chair that's been used before, but they couldn't guarantee if it would work perfectly fine. But that would've saved us maybe $300. They didn't lead me on and were completely honest.

When they came here, they were prepared. They unpacked everything and were familiar with stairs that had to be specifically designed. Then, they said it would take around two and a half hours to install the stairlift which was just about how much time it took. They made sure it worked and showed a few times its different features. One can hardly notice the stairlift when you walk into our house because the color of the pipes matches the woodwork. However, there ought to be some way for the remote that sends the lift up or down to say that it has reached its destination. My husband could only tell that the lift has made it down to the bottom of the run because he has good hearing.

I can't climb up and go downstairs. I have a heart and lung problem so when I move I can't breathe. I had another quote from a different provider and Stannah was the second one and I decided to go with them. But I was shocked at the expense. It was like three times the other one was. Also I got a curved stairlift and was a little disappointed. There was an existing railing on part of the stairs and they didn't remove that when they put the stairlift outside of the railing, so it narrowed the stairway even more. It still clears but I think they could have done a better engineering job.

They installed it fine and they had me sit in it and ride it down the stairs once. But they left no instructions on anything else about the chair. There was no demonstration whatsoever. And when I had my first service call this past Saturday, the rep explained to me but I didn't even know where the seatbelt was because it is hidden. I've had it maybe a week and I'm on oxygen. I was coming back up the stairs on the chair and it grabbed my oxygen’s header into the gears. It stopped the chair and cut of the oxygen and I panicked. But I managed to take the mask off and get another mask with another oxygen tank so that part of it was okay. And then I tried to get the header out from the gear. I cut it trying to pull it out. But I was deciding it was gonna stay right where it was.

So I went on the internet and noticed that they had 24/7 service. I called and was put on hold. I think the message said very busy and I was on hold for about 20 minutes and there was absolutely dead airspaces and no recording. There was not a sound and you would think you had been disconnected. And after about 20 minutes, I finally hung up and called back again and took the option of leaving a message for a call back.

Two hours later, I still haven't heard back from them so I went on the internet again and found another number and called for service. A woman did answer after a short period of time of five minutes. I told her my dilemma. I had a doctor's appointment on Monday, but I don't think I told her that. But she did tell me that the phone’s conversation would be recorded. I told her what the problem was and she said, ”They can have somebody out there Monday.” And I said, "Well, your ad says it should have service, even on Christmas day, 24/7. And she seemed irritated that I said that and she said, "Well, I said that wasn’t your only option.” And she said, "We'll have somebody call you back today."

A half an hour later Brad from Stannah called me and said he was on his was to Massachusetts for a call but he would come see on his way back. An hour later he called and he said it was gonna take him two hours to get back from Massachusetts and I said that was fine. At least he kept me updated. He came and he was very courteous, very nice and very knowledgeable. He unzipped the header from the gear and he said, "You're not the first one that did this."

The thing was brand new to me. I didn’t know how delicate it was as far as sucking up stuff. But he was here probably 45 minutes to one hour making some other adjustment, which I didn't understand. Because it was a brand new machine I figured if it needed adjustment it would have occurred when they installed it. So he finished and it worked fine. He tested it himself and then he said, “$225 please," And I was bound to have a heart attack. I said, "What?" And he said, "Well, it's Saturday and that's considered an emergency and you were told that there'd be a $225 fee." I said, "No I was I not told. But the phone call was recorded so you can go back and see that I was not told."

But what can you do then when he really repaired it so I wrote him a check for $225. And he went out to do it and he felt very bad that I haven't been told that. It was total shock to me. It was a brand new machine and within a week you have a problem because you're still so new using it with no instruction when it was installed. I thought I will have a minimal fee. But $225 to me was ridiculous! So I am not a happy camper with the company. As a whole they maybe fine but their customer philosophy is terrible. And I was so glad that they said that the phone was recorded. I hope it really is because they can check to verify the fact that I was never told of $200 or that a Saturday call was considered an emergency.

But Stannah kept me independent for a little bit longer. I live alone and I'm trying to stay as independent as possible. I live in a raised ground so this gets me down to the garage into my car and from the garage I can access the land level of the house so it works. The ride is also very smooth and very quiet. It appears to be made well. I got a refurnished one, so although they promised me a different chair and a different color upholstery, I didn't get that either but that's beside the point. The chair itself is a quality product and that portion of it I can certainly recommend to anybody. But I'd also tell others don't ever call them for service on a weekend.

My wife has severe arthritis as a problem and the stairlift that we had from another company finally broke after ten years. When she was walking up the stairs and I was sitting in the living room, reading a book, watching her go up was painful for me. We went out to the showroom in Westborough at end of October and my wife and I liked Stannah's units. I had to wait a bit to pick up some cash flow before I made an appointment with them. The gentleman that came out was named Rick. He was very professional, went over the details with me, took a look at the stairway, measured it quickly and gave me a figure. My wife and I talked it over, then we went ahead and put in the order.

It cost $8,000, which sounded a lot. Thank God, there was no sales tax. Their product is very nicely made and is imported from England where they're manufactured. Even the packaging was well done. The installation team unwrapped it on the lawn outside before they brought it in. They were quick, very professional and explained everything. They did a good job and were thorough about vacuuming the carpeting on the stairs. They took the old stairlift apart and took it out. It was something that I had actually installed myself and it took me considerably more time to put it up than it did for them to take it down. They installed a custom, curved, model 260 stairlift which we tested out and were contented.

The profile is a bit smaller than the other. The stair at the top is narrow and with the stairlift sitting in the normal position to go down, it interferes with me unless I breathe in and go in sideways, which is awkward. So, I use the remote control to turn the stairlift and lift it up and I have plenty of room. And then, I use the remote to turn it back, so the wife can jump right on it and then lets her off in the hallway. Both of us are much happier and much more comfortable with the Stannah stairlift. If there's any way other people could afford it, they should buy it as it could change their lives.

Our cars are in the garages which are down in the basement, so every time we go out that way, we have to go down a flight of stairs. We go up and down a lot carrying stuff and we want to stay in our house as long as possible, and a stairlift would be a good idea. Stannah Stairlifts has a good reputation, plus my best friend got a stairlift and she was very happy with it, so we got one, too. We got the indoor stairlift that goes down the basement stairs and at the bottom, it goes around the corner.

The representative from Stannah was very nice, knowledgeable, and helpful. And I've had an excellent interaction with the installation team. They were very conscientious, courteous and they cleaned up after themselves. They even helped me move a branch out of my driveway. They explained the basics and told us that we can call them anytime If we have any questions, problems, or adjustments.

I really like that the stairlift turns when we reach the top because otherwise, it would be very difficult to get out of it. When it comes up the stairs and reaches the top hallway landing, it turns so that we can get out of it safely. It fits very well in the stairway and there's plenty of room. I'm very satisfied with Stannah. It has made a world of difference. I told my husband that I'm so glad we decided on this. It was a lot of money and we're both on social security, but it made such a difference for both of us in our day-to-day activities. It's very helpful.

My wife has congestive heart failure and she’s legally blind and the stairs are just too much for her. We contacted three stairlift companies but Stannah Stairlifts was the only company that offered a rental. Also, I was very impressed with their salesperson. He was very respectful and understanding of our situation and urgent need. He explained very patiently and I didn’t get the idea that I was just another customer on his list for the day. We rented the 15 steps curved stairlift. The installers got down to business and they sure knew what they were doing. We needed to extend our bottom steps to create a landing platform and had somebody come in to do that and install an outlet for them which was a unique situation but Stannah did very well. Also, the senior worker was very pleasant and sociable.

Then, there was a demo and I appreciated getting those instructions. When the chair got to the top, the seat swirled on its own. I would have to lift the lever on the side of the seat and manually move the seat around to fit the floor. Everything is routine. It brings my wife up and down. The seat would get up to the top and turn around automatically and I was very happy to see that feature. This stairlift is very secure and it had a lot of features built into it. The top part after the curve is a little narrower than the bottom part and I had weak knees and I was concerned about taking the banisters off on both sides. We had to take one banister off on the day of the installation because our knees were gonna hit that banister. But I’m able to use the track of the chair very well as my banister.

Being blind and not being able to see stairs is a high-stress situation. My wife is only blind for the last couple of years and she’s 80 years old so she hasn’t gotten used to that fearful situation yet. The stairlift has taken away a major fear for her and it has been a tremendous help. I’m extremely happy with that. Also, if we reach a point that we don’t need the stairlift anymore, Stannah will come in, take it down then take it without charge. That was really quite extraordinary and wasn’t offered by anybody else. I’m glad that we found Stannah Stairlifts. I highly recommend them. They cared for us very well from beginning to end.

My husband has Parkinson's and he's still coping pretty well. However, getting up the stairs later in the day or at night was getting more difficult. We thought we were gonna need the stairlift down the road and we might as well get it sooner rather than later. I had called around to get recommendations and the people I talked to had usually used the contractor and gave me some different names I'd never heard of. When we found out Stannah had their headquarters, it worked out. They had all the information we needed and we liked it. Stannah had a very good presentation online about having their headquarters in Franklin. We're on the Cape and it was easy to get to. I called and they said we could come up and talk to a representative, which we did. We got to try it out, liked it, and made the decision.

Stannah sent somebody down to take measurements, which they did very quickly and then assigned somebody up to install it. The rep who did the measurements was excellent. We have a nice wide staircase and it has a rail which we could only use on that one side. We're glad that we could use and keep the handrail that we had and add the track and the chair to go up and still have room on the stairs. The one we got is a straight stairlift but it's extra long because our ceilings are a little bit higher.

Also, the installer has been working for Stannah for quite a while and he knew exactly what to do. It only took him three hours. He also made sure we knew how it worked and tried it out. He also said that they've been in business for a long time, started in Great Britain, and do their own manufacturing. Overall, the quality of the stairlift is very good. It has been a big help and we're using it a lot. I wanna stay in the house and everything is just a two-storey colonial. The bathroom and bedrooms are all upstairs so the stairlift makes it so we can stay here. The cost was reasonable and I feel that we made a good decision. The whole system is excellent and my husband is able to operate it very easily.

It's great going up and down and I haven't had to climb up since I had it.

For about two months, I was going one stair at a time. My husband was behind me and he was afraid I was gonna fall. When I couldn't walk and went onto a wheelchair, we called on Stannah. They came out quite fast and the rep was very nice. He showed us a picture of a straight indoor stairlift and described it, then we decided that that unit was the best for us. It took another week to set it up and put it in and the installer was very nice. He picked up after himself and the stairlift fits the stairwell perfectly. I got home a little later so that he could show me everything and tell me all about the unit even though I read the book.

The stairlift works very well. I’m pleased the little stair comes down when I'm riding down and I like that at the end, it picks up as I'm going up so that nobody can trip on it. When it comes to the top of the stairs, I turn and fold it up so somebody can use the stairs. But when I have to bring it down, the lever is on the outside going down the stairs rather than on the left side where I’d be able to work it. I didn’t realize that until I tried to use it. I have to reach out to use it but at this point, I have this fear of falling. Nonetheless, it was a relief to have the stairlift put in there. I’m going for back surgery and it’s gonna be a long recuperation. I won’t be able to get upstairs to bed if I didn’t have that stairlift. It improved my life and the price was not bad at all.

I couldn’t negotiate the stairs and when the salesman from Stannah Stairlifts came in, he explained and showed us some stairs. He also answered questions from my son-in-law and daughter. He was very personable and I felt secure with him. But when they installed the outdoor stairlift, I was in the hospital so I was not here for the gentleman to adjust it for me. When I came home from the hospital on a Saturday, it wasn’t working. It was binding on the stairs so we had to have somebody come back and readjust it. The man came to adjust it the following Thursday. Now, the stairlift gets me down the stairs and up. It gets me out of the house and to the doctors to get my medical check-up. I’m satisfied with Stannah.

I'm old and I was having a great deal of trouble getting up the outdoor steps to my front door every time I left the house, especially when I have to carry a bag of something inside from shopping. I did a web search and I was most impressed with Stannah Stairlifts. The salesman came and provided me with all the information that I needed. Then I selected a reconditioned outdoor chair and a week later, an installer came out and installed it. It took a long time because there was a good deal involved, like wiring and bush trimming. Plus, he did not put in the remotes that the salesman had told me I would get. So I called back and the installer came back and put the two remote controls on so I could send the chair up and down from wherever I am. The workmanship was done perfectly.

The installer was nice to me. He explained everything, gave me printed material about it and showed me how to use it. The stairlift does what it's supposed to do. I like that I can turn it to the side to get out with my cane and the fact that it goes up and down with a mere push of a button. Also, the seat and the foot can be raised so that all the weather doesn't hurt it and keep it wet. It impacted my life positively. I used to have almost everything delivered because I couldn't make it up the stairs if I had to carry anything in. I'd tell others that if they need one, they should get one. Even though it costs a fortune, it's definitely worth it.

The salesman came out, looked at the site, took his measurements and gave me some insight on how the chair works, how it operates, the construction and the quality of it compared to others on the market. He submitted a price on it with the pamphlet on exactly what I was gonna get, the quality and the warranty. They came in one day to install the stairlift and it has been very good. We've had it for a little over a month now and the quality looks fine.

We called Stannah and asked for them to come out. They gave us some information then we did our research on the internet. We asked for another company to come out to do some comparison and based on track record and reputation, we decided to go with Stannah. The installation was done within two and a half hours and we interacted well with the team. We also did a couple of test drives once they were finished. We have a curved stairway and the stairlift does curve around and fits our home well. It’s not overly big or cumbersome as we’re seeing in different places, and it runs smoothly too.

Our son has muscular dystrophy and we had added some stuff to help give him a little bit more support. Aside from the five-point harness seatbelt, we got him the headrest and we actually put a Velcro type body harness that wraps around. It’s used mostly for wheelchairs but we were able to adapt it to the chair to give him more total support. It's better to use for people for whom the five-point harness doesn't work. All those things are portable so we attached them ourselves. They're all Velcro and the headrest is like a strap. So I looped the strap to the back of the chair and I’m able to adjust it depending on how he’s sitting. Then I use that to support his head so he doesn’t lose any type of head control. He can rest his head and then the total support wraps around the back of the chair. So it works pretty well. He's able to sit up better and be a little bit more stable.

It was a long process but in the end, it was rewarding. It gave my son and my wife peace of mind, and he’s able to get up and down the stairs safely. It gives him a sense of independence too. We just have to get him onto the chair then he can do it on his own. He can operate using the remote or the one on the chair itself. He likes the remote control more though. Stannah was the best and the experience was smooth.

I got a stairlift for my mother and I didn't think I was gonna need it for more than a year so I went with Stannah Stairlifts for the fact that I could rent it. Their rep was there the following day for the measurement. They called and said they had somebody in the area that could come earlier which was good. I got the straight, indoor stairlift and it was a good installation. It fits fairly well into the staircase. I leave it in the middle and so I have to sort of walk around it. There's a window that I keep open at the top of the staircase and in case it rains, I don't want it to get anything on there. Also, the cat likes to jump up on the window. If I'm using it, I bring it up and down. But when I'm not using it, I take the remote and get it to a third way down and stop it. That way, it's out of the way.

It has been working fine. But I tried to use it the other day and it got stuck in the middle halfway down. It wouldn't go down any further. For some reason, it would go 2/3 of the way down and just stops but it would still go back up. I had that problem once and I took it up to the top. Then, I sat on it and used the little toggle under the arm. And it went all the way down. But I haven't tried that yet. I was gonna call them and I know that if I call up, they would come right after. I'd recommend Stannah if anyone asks.

Handi-Lift stated that they do not have emergency service, and if we waited until Monday or Tuesday they would repair at no fee, otherwise we needed to pay $350. We opted to pay the $350 as we needed to get to bedroom/bathroom and couldn't stay downstairs for 3 days. I figured I would call Monday and get the fee reversed. THEY REFUSED!!! I now paid $500 for a repair that should have cost $150, as well as the anxiety of being stuck on the chair and a loss of confidence in the chairlift itself. Handi-Lift's motto is "Accessibility with Dignity". They need to amend that to "Monday to Friday, 9 to 5 only. Evenings and Weekends are at your own risk."

My parents are having difficulties walking and their house is set up where you need stairs to get out of the house. So a chairlift was pretty much mandatory based on their physical condition. We looked at Stannah, A1A Mobility and Acorn. Doug from Stannah Stairlifts did an excellent job in the presentation. He was very straightforward with Stannah's pros and cons. He told us the price, what they were good at, what they were going to do, and what they won't do.

He did not badmouth his competitors, while the other ones had little digs about what their competitors did and didn't do. Also, the pricing was very upfront and honest. The other companies gave us a big price and then two days later, they called back to say that they can make a better deal for us. Then two days later, they called back with another deal. As the person making the decision on behalf of my parents, I felt like if I wasn't here, my parents could have been snowed a little bit about the prices people came in with. And I really was turned-off. I felt like they started high to see if people will bite on it. And Doug did not play any games like that at all. I live close to where Stannah headquarters was in Franklin, so I met Doug there on a Friday afternoon, and I tried out the chair.

Also, Stannah had a good program, which is what we ended up going with. Doug was very helpful when we decided to go used. We had gotten a top-of-the-line gently-used chair, which was about $3,000 less than the $11,000 Doug quoted and almost half the price of some of the other quotes that we received. I like that they have some type of buy-back program over the next few years in case we no longer need the lift. I also found that even with a used chair, their warranty was better than the other companies'.

The house is split level and we had a curved lift installed from the basement all the way to the top floor. The installation team was excellent. They were very nice and made sure that both my mom and dad knew how to use it. They also watched my parents use it to make sure they were comfortable with it. They were very accommodating, polite, professional, and clean. My parents were worried about the aesthetics of what it was gonna look like in the house, but now they think that it wasn't as cumbersome looking as they thought it would be. It's a smooth ride. It exceeded expectations and they are glad that we had gotten it.

The Stannah salesman who paid us a call to tell us about the stairlift was extremely knowledgeable and very professional. There was nothing that he couldn't answer as far as our questions. There is also an added benefit that we didn't even know until the salesman explained it to us. If my doctor signs the paperwork, the state won't charge us the fee for taxes and that's on a pricey item so that's not a small thing when you're on a limited income. The gentleman who installed the stairlift was also extremely professional. He told us approximately how long it would take, which it did exactly, and he treated us in a respectful manner. He also cleaned up and he didn't leave anything behind.

I also noticed that neither one of them treated us like we had less than a mental capacity. Once you reach a certain age, people seem to talk to you louder, whether it's well intended or not, thinking that you're deaf or to explain minute details that you're quite capable of understanding. Even in commercials, there is one from another chair company that shows the couple as feeble, old and rickety. But the Stannah people treated us with intelligence and respect, and that meant a lot to me. People that need this particular piece of equipment are going to appreciate that as well.

We have a large house, with 14 rooms and four bathrooms, and getting around on one level isn't bad but it's the stairs. I have severe asthma and COPD, and my husband has very bad arthritic knee. We've only been using the stairlift for a short time but we use it every day and night, and I've seen a huge improvement in going up and down the stairs. We found the stairlift exactly as we were told it would be. It's probably one of the best investments we've ever made. I would recommend Stannah.

Though the curved one is a little bumpy and doesn't ride as smooth as the straight one, it’s fine.

I took my dad out of the nursing home in April and he couldn’t get up my stairs. I have a second-storey bedroom for him. The nursing home referred Stannah Stairlifts and the sales representative who came out to my house was such a nice guy. I got the straight stairlift and it fit perfectly into my stairwell. Also, the installer was awesome. He actually had lunch and dessert with us. My mom always wants to feed someone who wants to come over, so he was able to get the installation done and eat while he was working. He deserved it. He also had us use the stairlift and the ride was absolutely perfect. The cost was worth it to be able to help my dad get up and down the stairs. My daddy loves it and he is up and down all day long. Our experience with Stannah Stairlifts was amazing overall.

I have a problem with my hips and decided to get a stairlift. I got a Stannah and I've had it for a month and a half now. The reps I dealt with were great and very explanatory. The installation crew installed it within a week. They explained to me how to use it, and were out of here in a couple of hours. While the stairlift is too slow, it's doing the job and it's of good quality. I like that it folds so it makes room for everybody to go to the stairwell. I would definitely recommend this one.

I had a stairlift before and the guy who used to come and fix it, Carl, gave me a brochure about Stannah. So when I wasn’t able to use that unit anymore, I trusted Carl and bought a unit from Stannah. The sales rep who came to my house was nice. The installers were nice as well and they did a good job. The unit is a nice lift and it's working and it's helping me but I feel that I paid too much for things that I didn't need, like the key and button. And I live on social security. I wouldn't recommend it.

I researched about Stannah and I ended up purchasing a straight stairlift. It fits very well into our home. The sales representative was excellent. He was answering all of my questions and was very knowledgeable. The installation was done by just one person and it was very well done within very good time. The quality of the stairlift is excellent. Plus it has given me freedom and liberation.

It was becoming too difficult for my father to walk upstairs to his bedroom. I did the research on the various other products and, for our needs, we needed a curved stairlift. I liked the difference in the track mechanism and the actual chair itself and that it came with different color choices in the fabric on the seat. I liked the how responsive the company was, because what I usually do is I call a phone number to see how the people respond, if you need service or whatever. Out of the three different salespersons I had here, the one from Stannah was head and shoulders above in his attitude towards explaining how the lift would work. He was a delight to have in my house.

The two guys that came for the installation were very respectful and very neat. At the end of the service call, they went over to my father and thanked him for his business and shook his hand. That’s remarkable. My father said the Stannah stairlift arrived just in time. Our experience with Stannah was pleasant from start to finish. We just had some workers in the home to install one of those walk-in bathtubs, so when you have various people in your home you can really appreciate when you have a group that’s quite respectful and clean about how they approach things. Stannah is still family-owned and they're one of the longest and first stair companies in the US. When they put themselves out there to be a reputable company, they lived up to their reputation. And I’ve already recommended them to somebody else who bought from them.

The Stannah Stairlifts reps were very friendly and very professional, and we appreciated that because we didn’t know the first thing about it. Phone calls to the office were very helpful. They were very friendly people, very sincere, and right to the point. Everything was black and white, and there were no questions, no callbacks needed. Everything was right there for us. The salesperson was very pleasant and very knowledgeable. We had the straight, indoor stairlift installed and it fits very well in our home. One gentleman installed it and he was the nicest fella I’ve ever met. He was very efficient. He installed it in less time I ever believed it could have been done. The stairlift was done very well and it works perfectly.

My wife has dementia and she can’t use the steps anymore, so we purchased a stairlift for her to go visit our daughter because it was downstairs in the house. It’s very good because we couldn’t get her out of the house for a little less than two years, but last week, we got her out three times. That was really great. She got to see people that she hadn’t seen in quite a long time, and it was very good. We really appreciated it.

The Stannah stairlift was fine. We went with them because I had used one in a business setting. During the sales visit, everything was professional and we got a quick response. The installers were quick, straightforward, polite and on time. They called us before they arrived. My father's enjoying the stairlift. It's helped tremendously as it gets my dad up the stairs without us worrying that he's not gonna be able to do it on his own. It allowed us not to have to move his bedroom to the first floor at this time. The stairlift is straight and it's durable and seems very safe. We're very happy with it. All in all, my Stannah experience was very positive from start to finish. If anyone asks me about them, I will tell them to look into it depending on their need.

Our neighbor across the street recommended Stannah Stairlifts. My wife had a fracture and I was not sure whether she would be able to walk up the stairs, so while she was in the nursing home, I arranged to have the stairlift installed. The installers were terrific. They were very efficient, very fast, and did a nice job. However, we had one concern where the stairlift did not turn a full 45 degrees. A very nice gentleman came over, explained the whole workings of it, showed how strong it was, and then since then, we have been comfortable with it. It has only been about two weeks since we had the stairlift but it is holding up well. My wife is happy that we got it.

If you have a mobility problem and have to live on two stories, Stannah is a very practical solution. I decided to purchase a stairlift because of a major leg surgery. We looked at several companies and we were impressed with the salesmanship and history of Stannah Stairlifts. They have a very good salesperson. I requested and received a lot of information from him. We then went to their local center for a demonstration. We got the straight stairlift and its installation took a relatively short time. So far, the quality looks good.

Our bedroom is on the second floor and now my wife can go up and down. In order to stop the beeping every charge though, the stairlift has to be at or near the top and there is no command that just sends it to the top. I have to essentially keep pressing until it does so. Also, there's no practical system to carry either a folded wheelchair or a walker, which would be needed at the end. Still, we would recommend it to a friend.

We Purchased our Stannah stairlift's because of its ability to move to top level without aid. We’ve had Stannah in the house since 2013. In that same year, when we called several people, three people showed up. We asked for references, and they did not send it. It was only Stannah that followed up through. Also, when we look at the reviews of other stairlifts, I read the complaints about people who are using other kinds. The reviews confirmed that it was Stannah that we needed. With the stairlift, we can use the whole house, not worrying about going up and down. Also, we like Rich, and the guys who came were also good. They did a good job.

I, temporarily at least, am not able to walk downstairs or upstairs. So, in order to be able to go from floor to another, a stairlift was important and Stannah Stairlifts seemed to be the best. I checked them out as best as I could on the internet and I sold myself before they even got here. Their sales rep had a very good attitude, not like a hard-driven salesperson, but she was there to help me and to discuss what I needed. The installation team was quite efficient in getting the work done. They installed a straight stairlift and it serves the purpose. It narrows the stairway a bit, but it's doable. It's a means to an end. They showed my wife how to work the stairlift and my favorite feature is the smooth ride. The stairlift is very good and its cost is comparable.

My husband has Parkinson’s disease and the bedrooms are on the second floor. Stannah was recommended by one of the editors at The New England Journal of Medicine where my daughter works. We spoke to two of the reps. The first one came out and worked with my daughter when we were still in Florida. My daughter was very impressed and the rep left all kinds of wonderful information for us. And then when we came home, the three of us went down to Stannah's place of business in Franklin. The rep went over it all again and he had my husband and I both try riding one stairlift. It was a very good experience, and I purchased a straight stairlift.

The installer spent a lot of time explaining the stairlift to us and had us ride it up and down again, making sure we were comfortable. He left us with written details also. The stairlift fits very well. However, we had one problem with that. We had a hall closet that’s on the same side that we had to put the stairlift. So we had to take the drawer off and once the stairlift is down, it blocks the door. But eventually, we’ll figure out something to adjust to be able to close it. All in all, everything went very smoothly and was explained well. The cost of the stairlift was worth the money and it looks nice. My granddaughter loves it. We’re very happy and we definitely will recommend Stannah if anybody asked.
