Purchased my set 1-8-18, was told by the salesman this set is laundry mat quality and it’s backed by a 10 yr warranty. If it breaks Speed Queen will have a repairman in your house the next day. I said man that’s good, the set was pricey but I liked the warranty. Well, as usual that turned out to be horse **, the dryer went out. I called Speed Queen and was told, “We don’t fix nothing.” We look for somebody local to fix. Speed Queen should pay me the 3000, I have in their overpriced fake warranty that they are selling.

I really don’t want to give this rating a star but I had to select at least one. My one star is under duress. This machine doesn’t even deserve one star. I bought a top load Speed Queen washing machine a year ago and used the “eco” setting which didn’t rinse the soap out of my clothes and I developed a terrible skin rash that I had to treat with **. The customer service rep at Speed Queen said the “eco” setting is to comply with government regulations and I should not use it and I should always use the “auto fill”.

My clothes never were clean, in fact they became dingy. The biggest test of all was that none of my dog toys ever came out clean, they came out with the same dirt they had when I put them in the washer. I called customer service at Speed Queen 3 times to discuss the machine's disappointing performance... “Don’t use eco setting”. “Small loads won’t get clean if there’s not enough clothes in them”. “The machine is designed so that the clothes rubbing against each other will clean”. In the end after a year of frustration I bought an Electrolux and my clothes are clean again.

Bought this piece of crap washer in August 2018. Since then I have had service on it 7 times and 2 complete drum and all the inside of tub replaced. Called Speed Queen and they said it was the technician's fault that it was not working right. So they sent another tub and tech replaced that too. This machine sounds like a jet airplane is taking off and you better have headphones when you do the wash. Why bother washing. You're better off just wearing your clothes inside out as they would be cleaner than what this piece of $1000 crap would get it.

Customer service specifically John in residential washers got his feelings hurt when I expressed my animus to him. He acted like a baby and threatened to hang up if I wasn't nice to him. I asked him to call Speedy Appliance and call me back when he did. I was told they had to get approval to call me back from his boss. My comment to him at Alliance was to ask him if he needed permission to use the phone.

Please please DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. I feel like throwing it on the highway with a huge sign of do not buy Speed Queen so everyone on the highway can see what a terrible product this is and let them know that Alliance who owns Speed Queen is a consumer nightmare. It appears that our dealer washed his hands of this situation. Why are they still in business if they cannot stand behind their product.

I made a HUGE mistake not taking my Whirlpool W/D set to my new house. I had heard so many wonderful reviews about Speed Queen - workhorse, great warranties, etc. Now I'm stuck with a horrible washer and disgusting mildew smell. I contacted the dealer - the mildew problem is not covered by the warranty. They suggested I contact Speed Queen directly which I did but never received a response. I've tried everything - vinegar/baking soda, Affresh, always leaving the washer door wide open - nothing works. Twenty years ago I purchased the first front load washer Maytag made. It had the same mildew problem and Maytag contacted me ahead of me contacting them! The problem was fixed at NO CHARGE. My opinion - don't buy Speed Queen.

I call myself being smart being buying true iconic American brand washer and dryer set, and to my surprise, my 15 year old Roper I got on Craigslist for $75 out washed this almost $3,000 stainless steel washer. What I immediately noticed that all my clothes were coming out this front loader smelling like Tide pods, after a complete wash cycle. This machine doesn't wash clothes, because it doesn't tumble in enough water. I'm a truck driver and travel the country on a regular, and ran across a similar machine at a Flying J, it did the same thing. So I complained and demanded my money back because this machine left my clothes smelling worse, prior to washing. And I was told that the government had decided on how much water is needed to wash your clothes, which is at least two gallons short, therefore, no I find my myself using a extra rinse cycle, which extends my cycle to an hour, just to remove the smell of tide.

I tried contacting the manufacturer to figure out some kinda hack to add more water, and was basically told by these people, "good luck with that". Ok let get this straight, I paid nearly $6,000 for this washer/dryer combo, and I kid you not, my hundred year old Roper will clean ten times better, and I paid less than $100 bucks, used, over 15 years ago. This doesn't make any sense.

Hello. Wanted to replace our mid 80's vintage Speed Queen washer and dryer, and were horrified to learn that you guys changed the whole wash design. Investigated further, and decided the new design sucked, and was nowhere near the effectiveness of the old design. We will not buy another Speed Queen set until you go back to the tried & true proven design. If it works - LEAVE IT ALONE. Moving to Maytag for now. Sorry. FYI - back in the early '80s I used to deliver appliances, and the best units and oldest working washers we used to haul away were always the Speed Queens. Please get it together and re-issue the old design. If you don't, I'm afraid you will fail miserably in the residential market. I would welcome any feedback you might have on this issue.

I know a lot of people start by saying this but, I RARELY write reviews. Good or bad. After becoming frustrated with our Whirlpool Cabrio washer's lack of cleaning ability I took the advice of our repairman and purchased a SET of Speed Queen's washer and dryer. That was less than 8 months ago. Didn't even NEED the dryer but hey "Get the matching set". Speed Queen has always had an impeccable reputation for quality and reliability. Short story about the washer- Speed Queen washer does average to poor at cleaning on any temperature. Control knobs are basic and there is no way of telling how long your cycle will take. I mean NONE.

Long story on the dryer- After just a few weeks the dryer knob was not lining up correctly with the corresponding cycle and it was taking a minimum of 2 full cycles to dry most anything. I was literally guessing where I was in a cycle and hoping for the best. The dials are all made of cheap plastic (unlike their older, more reliable models) I have now had the same knob, timer and other parts replaced FOUR TIMES. The last time was one week ago and it has already happened again! FIVE TIMES in 8 months. I am beyond frustrated. Hence my review. I called the only number I can find for Speed Queen that seems to relate to customer service. I was told that to get a replacement machine I had to go to the dealer and not through Speed Queen. No one wants to take responsibility for an obviously defective machine.

Despite buttoning up the duvet covers (I live in Australia) things still manage to get caught up inside and from time to time, the duvet cover even manages to get turned inside out, as do the pillow cases. How on earth can this happen??? And then there are the many, many times the sheets get twisted up like corkscrews. How can that happen?? I’ve had many dryers in my lifetime, none as expensive as this one, but every single one of them was 100% better than the Speed Queen. I HATE IT! Do not buy one! Rosie **, Australia.

Gerrit's came out once to clean them but they only returned. Have been trying to get Speed Queen/Gerrit's to take them back to no avail. Also, when drying clothes when you open the dryer door the lint gets all over the clothes. SQ sent me something but I already had one which does not work. Also, the timers are so quiet you cannot hear them when the cycle is done on either the washer or dryer. I have never had such poor service from either place, but especially SQ. I spoke with a man by the name of John and he did absolutely nothing. I then left two messages for him but he never returned my calls. I would not buy another SQ. Both appliances and customer service are worthless. Be very careful before you buy.

I bought a stackable Speed Queen after reading about the reliability and longevity of the machines. I had read that they are workhorses and well built. Unfortunately, they are not that well designed and it is a daily frustration when I use mine. First of all, the upper dryer door is not round, it is flat at the bottom. This seems like it is a trivial detail, but because of the shape of the door opening, it is about 2-3 inches higher that I need to reach in the grab the dry clothes and for me at 5'1" that is the difference between being able to reach the back of the machine or not. Presumably this was done to have a straight edged lint catcher, but that is a foolish compromise.

The lint catcher brings me to my next complaint. You cannot remove the lint catcher without unscrewing it! To remove the lint, you just need to swipe your hand and grab the lint - no big deal, BUT if you want to clean it properly with a brush every so often, like I do, you cannot. Most people may not clean the lint catcher and the exhaust tube from there, but I always have and I can see that there is plenty of dust that gets through the catcher and is in the tubing beyond where I can reach without breaking out my screwdriver. That is a fire hazard and a ridiculous inconvenience to the average homemaker, housecleaner or working mother.

Next issue is the soap dispenser. It is so poorly designed that unless you close the dispenser immediately it leaks down the front of the machine and not only that, it tracks to yet another spot where it is difficult to reach and clean! When I take my soap dispenser out to clean, about every two weeks, the inside of the space where it fits also has dried liquid detergent in the corners and edges. This is poor design, it is not because I am using too much detergent - I am not. The lower panel at the bottom of the machine also needs to be cleaned/serviced, according to the manual every 6 months. Well this is also a major pain in the neck requiring the machines to be pulled out from their built in cabinetry positions and a couple of hex screws to be undone. Really? Couldn't they make it so the access was all from the front?

As for their functionality - it is fine. They are pretty quiet machines, they do the job, though I don't believe the auto-sensor works for dryness, and they certainly haven't broken, though I have only been using them for 1 year. Leaving the washing machine door open after using it has prevented any bad odors, BUT the glass insert in the door accumulates a weird soapy grime that requires a scrubby sponge to clean each week. I use the same regular eco-safe detergent (Persil) I used in my previous machine and never had that problem, which makes me believe it is the shape of the glass design. Of course also, these are a bit smaller than many of the big machines out there, but that is well stated in their literature and was no surprise.

Realistically, you cannot do two sets of sheets in one load though. The machine is just stuffed then and the dryer takes forever to dry if it is that full. This is an issue if you have a cleaning lady coming to do all the sheets in one day. It will take forever. Luckily, we just change our sheets on different days, but I no longer have a house full of kids - If I did - this would NOT be family functional washing machine and dryer

Our machine is less than eight months old or machine and we have two major problems. First the inner plastic ring is falling apart. We have chunks of plastic in our clothes. Eventually the entire ring is going to break down. Our second problem is we have a internal water leak in the tub. Fortunately we have a plastic liner under the machine, otherwise our wood floors would be ruined. We are called Speed Queen twice and talk to someone by the name of Tim, who seems to have absolutely no information on anything. We had someone come out to repair the machine and we were told we should just get a new one. It’s in pretty bad shape.

He came out again the following week and was told that he had to replace the tub the liner and and find where the leak in the tub is. Today a week later we called Speed Queen. Spoke with Tim once again to find out what the status of our parts and repair was. He knew nothing. We called the appliance repair place directly and they are trying to track our parts but they said Speed Queen sends things through some super cheap delivery service not a UPS or FedEx and it’s hard to even find out where the parts are since there’s no tracking number. Meanwhile every time I do a load of wash there’s white chunks of plastic in my clothes. Oh and I forgot to add the machine makes these horrible clanking noise as well. That’s important. Anyway I thousand dollars for this machine what a joke customer service from Speed Queen. Disgusting. Do not buy this machine or actually anything from Speed Queen.

When a load is finished, the soap and scent booster is still on the top of the clothing. We have been working without dealer, and Speed Queen, but so far all I have had is disappointment. I wanted a heavy duty dryer and bought this on the recommendation of the salesman. It was professionally installed by the dealer who confirmed proper ventilation. Drying takes at least one hour per load. The sensor cycles do not work. The clothes are still damp even when set to "dry." After talking to the manufacturer's representative, the repairman said the dryer is functioning properly.

I contacted the company who wrote, "During the first 6 minutes of the cycle the machine takes readings of how wet the load is. During this time the control calculates how much time will be needed to dry the load. It also takes into account, with the current options selected, the average of the last 5 loads with the same settings selected. The time will vary with load size, type of fabric, amount of moisture in the load, air flow and the laundry room environment. After the initial 6 minutes when the time is calculated, the machine then runs for that amount of time."

In other words, the sensor does not "sense" the present load but stops at some predicted time regardless of the dryness of the load. Further, the representative said only "delicates" should be dried on the delicate setting. Jeans, sweaters, and other items that would shrink at high temperature are not "delicates." He suggested drying them on the timer on low temperature. While this does work, it means the sensor settings are useless.

The Speed Queen gas dryer is very good, too, but I don't like that the default setting is near dry, and typically the clothes are not dry enough for our liking, so we use the time dry and dry the laundry longer. The default setting for dryness is near dry for all heat ranges and load types.

We still love both of our Speed Queen products. In the past we had two highly rated front loaders that had significant issues, one where the drum came loose, it was cheaper to buy a new washer than repair the front loader. The second front loader had to have several of the computer boards replaced. Both of these washers were less than 3 years old when these problems came up in them. I bought a commercial machine for our spa and honestly have never experienced a worst performance out of any brand at any price. It literally broke in the first week. There was some sort of top crown defect whereby the drum tore away from the frame and plastic shards fell into the bottom of the machine making funny noises.

The repair folks came by (Martin & Harris in Marin County, CA) and took most of the shards out but didn't replace the drum and said it would still work. It did for a while but then began making horrible noises like an animal was being tortured in the back room. They ordered the wrong part twice while we went to the laundromat spending hundreds of dollars. I finally called the manufacturer myself and they'd never heard of the problem as Martin & Harris hadn't filed a claim against the warranty even though the parts were being ordered from the manufacturer. I request a replacement since this machine is surely a lemon, and they refuse.

I then let them listen to the noise which shocked them, and they immediately called their chief repairman who'd been with the company for many years. Instead of sending the part he recommended, they sent another part. In the meantime the drum and belt are replaced which did nothing. It's been 2 months and we're still waiting for some relief. Finally the store takes the necessary part - the drive belt assembly - from a new machine in the store and installs it into our machine. They clean out the rest of the shards which had gotten underneath the shaft and the machine worked well again for about a week.

The same noise started again after the top crown tore away again from the frame. They came over from Martin & Harris to confirm that the improbably was true and finally requested a replacement. That's been a month ago. It's the third week in January and we've been dealing with this since early October 2018. It's just not worth the hassle to take a risk on this machine. It may have had a good reputation at one time, but at this point I'd never buy another one, especially since the service is abysmal.

We decided to purchase this model because it has 6 cleaning cycles and easy to use knobs vs. the push button control board. We are very pleased with the performance of our new appliances. The washer is quiet, and exceeded our expectations in cleaning our clothes. Every load has came out clean and smells nice. I believe this is the result of adequate water usage and Speed Queen's design to push water along with the cleaning agent through the cloths. The only con I see with the washer is it has a safety lock while in use that requires you to pause the cycle to add items to your wash. The dryer is efficient, my clothes are usually dry in 35 minutes.

We bought the SpeedQueen 'Commercial Heavy - Duty' grade Washer (AWNE82SP113TW01) & Dryer (ADGE8RGS113TW01) in Feb 2018. Washer Cons: Short wash cycle does not get clothes clean. Additionally, the timed wash counts down even as it fills. It may use up 5 mins of the 'wash' time before even being full. Cannot chose 'warm' in its default ECO mode- essentially very cold only. Ridiculously loud wash cycle.

Dryer Cons: Wetness Sensor doesn't do anything. However wet the clothes are at the end of the timed cycle - that's how they'll sit. Clothes are often damp after cycle finishes. If we're not home to immediately start the 'Fluff' cycle, clothes sit damp for hours/days. In short, the limited number of cycle options don't dry clothes. I'm very concerned about energy efficiency, but not drying clothes doesn't make it a better unit.

I did a good deal of research on this product before purchasing and really hoped for a better than box-store experience. (My wife has been very kind in not complaining about my 'well-reasoned' choice.) Technically, the units work; we have not had any non-functional issues as some have reported here. And we make adjustments to get clothes clean & dry. In short, I wouldn't recommend either product and we regret our purchases. I hope the American made brand can get their act together going forward.

Actually, for the record, not VERY first use, as I tried it briefly after installing it with no load just to make sure all was well. It survived that initial test, but not with clothes in it. Very disappointed. The seller is going to make it good, but that's besides the point. For $950 I expect a product to actually work.

I have had it less than a year and the spin cycle doesn't work. Nor does it clean clothes! It may be easier on clothes, but who cares if they are dirty. It doesn't spin the water out and clothes have to be dried twice. How is this easier on them? I wish they would bring back the old washer! Since my expensive Speed Queen has been a total disappoint, I have purchased a new washer with no computer parts and an agitator that isn't just for looks!

I purchased a new set of Speed Queens on 2/28/17. These are commercial grade Washers & Dryers. I have NEVER had a problem with other dryers and a friend raved about her new Speed Queen product so we decided to look into them. Since purchasing this “High Efficient” washer and dryer I have had to dry my clothes, towels, etc. twice each time. How efficient is that? I had a repairman come out. He told us the problem was in the vent. My husband had cleaned out the vent before he showed up so afterward he did it again and was given the ‘all clear’ from another service. The Speed Queen repairman came a second time.

The only thing he could tell us was that there was nothing more he could do and it’s something we have to put up with. What??? Put Up With??? Not acceptable. Today we had another repairman come out to test the heating element. His answer was the heating element was not running as it should. He will order a new part. WHAT??? A new part on a brand new Dryer? Now I realize I said it was purchased in February and this is November but please take into consideration that we are gone from June-October so this dryer was not in use at that time. This is totally ridiculous. I can’t believe Speed Queen, a company that is supposed to be the Number 1 seller of Washers & Dryers, would not replace this unit. So wrong. I love the fact that the new washing action is easier on my clothes. Some people are having a hard time with that, but this is the future. Sure the washing machines in the 70s lasted forever BUT they beat up clothes, cleaned yes, but beat up in the process. I also like the fact that they removed the transmission, one less failure point in the future. This is also the most quiet washing machine I've ever experienced. Looking forward to getting many years of service from this unit.

We LOVE our Speed Queen TR7 washer and dryer system. Don't be misled by negative reactions based on "how" it washes. This washer does not drag expensive clothing through the washer like machines of the past. Rather, it moves the water at high speed around the tub and through the garments. The end result is the best wash AND gentler on clothing. We've had fantastic results. Heavily soiled clothes from yard work and gardening came out beautifully.

The machine is very sophisticated with so many options for wash settings. I'm enjoying the process of discovering how to wash different clothing in the best manner possible - which this machine does. There's an extended soak option available along with a pre-wash cycle. You can even delay start the machine so that the washer "sleeps" until you want it to start. This allows for the ability to have the wash finish just as you arrive home which in turn eliminates standing wet clothing. Then just toss the clothes immediately in the dryer and the wash is done! (Not leaving the clothes in the dryer after they dry helps greatly reduce wrinkling.) Thorough cleaning PLUS preserving expensive clothing makes this the best washing system available.

When we married in 1997, my wife had a Kenmore 500 series W/D set she had bought second hand. I kept it working for years past its expiration date by installing new agitator dogs & 2 new lid switches, learning how to do so from YouTube videos. It got to where it would only work on the heavy duty setting, so we used it like that for about a year or so. Unfortunately, a few months ago it reached the point where it wouldn't drain at all so I had to empty the tub by hand (major pain) using a plastic water pitcher (regular bucket wouldn't fit).

I think the problem was the timer switch b/c nothing else seemed out of whack - the 'brain' apparently wouldn't tell it what to do when (fill/agitate, drain, spin, refill/rinse, drain, spin). In any event, a new timer switch runs around $125 & I just couldn't justify spending that much on a 20+yo machine plus we have 4 kids now so time was of the essence. After reviewing many washers, I took the plunge to purchase the SQ AWN932SP & although pricey, man, is this thing a beast. It has ample capacity & although it has a shut-off lid switch, that is easily defeated, which I also learned how to do from YT, in order to add detergent or softener anytime during the cycle. It has analog switches (no friable electronics), a real agitator, a 3-yr full warranty & 5-yr parts only warranty, it's solid & American made. It works like a washing machine should.

My only minor fuss is the spin cycle (perhaps because it either doesn't spin long/fast enough) so items come out a bit more damp than with the Kenmore, but I hope SQ is listening so that can be corrected. And that's not even a big deal - many things we hang up to air dry anyway. You'll pay more on the front end, but you'll be glad on the back end. I highly recommend this machine. I also hope the new administration will scale back many of the ridiculous regulations previous administrations imposed on manufacturers so they can make machines that work again & aren't subject to the whims of rule-making PC bureaucrats.

It's 31 years old now and is still working beautifully. No repairs yet. I'd purchased it new in 1989 after having such a good experience with my previous machine which lasted seventeen years of heavy use and was god-knows-how-old when I paid $30.00 for it. I have no idea how good new Speed Queen machines are but I'm certainly able to vouch for the older models.

Original Review: I checked this site to see if the newer model Speed Queens are as good as the old ones. Kind of mixed reviews here so I'm not sure what to think. I'm not really in the market for a new washing machine -- the one I have now is absolutely fine and has never had a repair -- but you never know what's in the future. My current machine is 28 years old. My kids are out of the house now so it isn't used daily anymore but I still run it four times a week. Since they took phosphates out of laundry detergent I do notice a lower level of cleaning, but that's certainly not my washing machine's fault. My previous machine was also a Speed Queen. I bought it used from a neighbor -- had no idea of it's age -- and it ran seventeen years. And I was doing multiple loads in those days! So are the new ones as good? I doubt it. Hope I don't have to find out for a while!

Speed Queen referred me back to the retailer and said to tell the retailer to contact their distributor. The distributor said they do not offer repair service. The retailer replaced the dryer. New dryer works great. I used the washer 4 times. The 4th time it would not agitate, spin or empty the water. I had to wring out the load of laundry by hand and suck the standing water out with a shop vac, taking about 12 trips to empty it. I am 67 years old-this was not pleasant.

Again Speed Queen was contacted, this time by the retailer. Again SQ customer service referred the retailer to the same service technicians who again refused once they found out I live outside their city. Again SQ told the retailer. It would not authorize replacement and honor the SQ warranty which accompanied my washer and dryer. Why is a manufacturer's warranty not the responsibility of the manufacturer? $1500 and at this point all I have is a working dryer. This is going all over social media if Speed Queen fails to come through and honor the warranty on this product. This is extremely poor customer service.

I used Speed Queen at a laundromat, and they are amazing! You can get more into your loads without worry. You know all of your clothes will come out clean. Sometimes I go to the laundromat to use their machines for my bedding. With the ones I have used it was nice to have a presoak option. Plus I like the high speed cycle of removing water. You don't have to worry about your clothes being so heavy with water when you go to dry. However, the ones at the laundromat take forever because of the presoak cycle. It would be nice if it went a tad faster and it would be cool if it cleaned itself out after every use LOL!

I love Speed Queen. I like all the features. They have advanced in the technology of the world today. They are one of the oldest and new brands of all times. I can wash any size load and the washer and dryer adjust itself to whatever capacity that I have in them. I can never over load or under load using this brand. They have come a long way. I love the fact that it seems like it knows the level of clean that I require. My kids and husband used these items and they are very please each and every time they use it.

When washing Speed Queen does an amazing job. Its super fast and has multiple settings for washing. The dryer dries fast and doesnt take a long time to dry. Its just a little too expensive for my taste. This washer and dryer have amazing settings and multiple settings when it comes to washing and drying. One of the favorite things about it is the length of time it takes to dry. The cost of the Speed Queen washer and dryer is on the more expensive side for me. It does a good job but I could find something cheaper that could do the same job just less money.

There were SQ washer in a laundromat I visited regularly, plus I owned one-inexpensive to buy. My 3.42 cubic feet washer AWNE92SP113 is dependable, no nonsense and gets the clothes clean. It comes in white which reminds me of clean laundry. It wasn't heavy like some and was easy to move when I moved from an apartment to a house. It also has top loading, two rinse cycles, I could select the water temperature and the agitator strength. I also liked the cycle only took about 20 minutes. The one I had didn't used a timer and I wish it did. I would add a mini-basket. It wastes water when you have a smaller load than the washer's select small load. Make sure each Speed Queen washer has a timer.

The Speed Queen was an excellent machine. I never had any problem with it and it cleaned the clothes completely. I liked that it had different levels to choose from. From light to heavy duty. My beddings were cleaned safely. The dryer worked well and dried my clothes quickly which was great for me. I always like to finish with my laundry as fast as possible. I was completely satisfy. The clothes came out great, not too much wrinkles. The dryer did its job and would consider using it again in the future or even buying one for my personal use. For what I needed the Speed Queen delivered. All and all great features.

I really loved Speed Queen. I bought it because that is what my mother used and I am a traditional person, she was so pleased with her machine and is one I knew and grew up with so I knew I would love to be the owner of a Speed Queen washer and dryer. When I married and began my family we used it daily when the children came along and loved the experience of being owners. I enjoy that it is simple to use and so easy to operate, I could hold my child in one arm and add the softener when needed, I could unload and place in dryer with child in my arms, my husband could and was able to use this machine with ease and enjoyed the fact that it was very easy and simple to use, he never messed up the clothes he washes or dried. I was so grateful for that.

I would love it to have an alarm or bell to tell when wash is completed and would love a signal for when to add the softener so that I could do other things while waiting for the chance to add. I would love to see it improved for the younger generation and also my two sons will know what brand to purchase when they marry or move out on their own.

I think they are very good machines to use. Have used them at same washteria and were excellent in cleaning the clothes. Only once in awhile they were unreliable when were out of order!! They are dependable in getting the clothes washed and cleaned!! The machines are so quiet you don't even know that they are running until the light goes out and know that the clothes are done and ready to be put in dryer!!! The machines are so reliable and dependable that you simply cannot think of anything that will make you dislike the machines. I understand the clothes have to go in different cycles to get cleaned but you have to be patience until the machine stops!!

Speed Queen was front loading and very modern looking, and worked very well. My clothes were very clean and soft. I liked it but it had a lot of different settings which I didnt understand. But for someone who cares it would be a dream to use. I wish it had a 'just wash the stuff' mode. For someone who doesnt get too involved, it would be very confusing to use. Otherwise everything was great.

I had these appliances when my family was young (in diapers through grade school), and found them to be reliable and dependable. They were purchased more than 30 years ago in Columbus, NE and I chose them because the laundromat had that brand. I remember there was an extra prewash cycle that worked well for doing cloth diapers. I really liked the prewash cycle for rinsing diapers before doing their regular wash cycle. Alas! Few people use cloth diapers anymore! Then, as my sons got older, and into sports, I found the prewash cycle handy for tough, messy dirt and spills on their clothes. But when we moved to Sheboygan WI, we decided we would buy new appliances rather than move the ones that were over eight years old. The store in Sheboygan did not carry the Speed Queen brand.

I love my washer Model # AWN412SP111TW01. It washes great and it is much better than the ones with all the fancy technology features on them. This washer operates more like the washers I used to have and it washes in an appropriate length of time. I love the fact that this washer does not have the feature that locks your lid when you start your wash. My washer is more like the way washers used to be built years ago and not just some fancy technology that quits working right after your warranty goes out. The only thing that could be improved is that the water could be spun out a little more so that the clothes are not quite as damp when the wash cycle is over. This isn't really a problem but just a preference for me.

Speed Queen worked quite well for me and for many years. It was an older model which may have been the reason it worked for so long and so well since older things seem to have staying power compared to today’s appliances. It was nothing special or brag about, just your average washing machine. It washed the clothes and spin them close to dry and that's all I or anyone needs in a washing machine.

It worked great. A super machine that lasted for years with no maintenance and never broke down. It was the perfect machine from day one until it outlived its usefulness. The only reason it was replaced was that it had become out of date. I liked the permanent press cycle. It always was gentle on my clothes and never faded them or caused any tears or rips. I still love it today. I would recommend it to anybody.

I had a Speed Queen for many years and I was very happy with its performance. It didn't spin too long like some washers do but it still spun out good. It lasted a good many years without any problems. My Speed Queen washer had just one feature that I really liked and that was the permanent press feature so clothes wouldn't wrinkle. Best as I can tell it would wash in warm and rinse in cold or something to that effect. Its transmission worked fine the entire time I had it.

I like the timer on the Speed Queen because it lets you know how long you have left until you have to deal with your laundry. I also like the large size of the machines especially when you go to wash blankets and comforters. But, I hated my washer, nothing came clean and the dryer never dries everything. The only place I have ever used one of these was at the laundromat so it might have been bad up keep on the machine. I would make it that it washed better and maybe increase the heat in the dryers so they dry better. I would also move the area that you add the detergent. It is always on the top and really hard for someone who is not tall to reach it.
