    We've had our dryer serviced 3 times in less than 2 years. I believe we ended up with a lemon. The lady from customer service was very rude and short with me. Basically telling me that it's too bad. Very disappointing.

    Purchased a Speed Queen TC5 last week. 3 loads done so far. NOT overloaded. Machine made holes in clothes and didn't remove dirt/drool. Called Ferguson, where we bought it, and they won't refund anything that has been installed, told us to call Speed Queen. Called Speed Queen and they will send a tech out, but if the tech decides the machine runs fine, we will be billed, told us to call Ferguson. Called Ferguson and told to be more aggressive when calling Speed Queen. Asked for a manager. It's being reviewed. Horrible washing machine. Horrible customer service from both companies.

    I have had a Speed Queen washer and dryer for 20 years, and even gave my washer to my son when he had children but…my new Speed Queen washer is so subpar. I am very disappointed with the Speed Queen brand. It does not get my husband's work clothes clean at all. I have tried switching to new laundry detergents as well as cutting loads in half. Still dingy. I am completely unsatisfied with my new washer, and if I hadn’t given my older model to my son, I would ask for it back. The quality has dropped considerably and is no longer a brand I would recommend to anyone.

    I purchased the DR7 dryer which was delivered in September 2025. Immediately I noticed that the dryer left lint all over my clothes. I contacted Speed Queen who told me that it was probably due to insufficient venting (which, after reading a ton of reviews noticed that is what they tell everyone). My home is newly built, but just in case, I had my builder come check out the venting, which is fine. I also purchased the matching washing machine which is fine, but will be returning the set as I have not seen anywhere online how to fix the lint issue with the dryer. #SpeedQueen

    Marketed as ‘commercial heavy duty’ — which is a joke. It leaks from the bottom when washing small dog beds, can’t handle bulky items, has small capacity, slow cycles, and limited settings. Fine for clothes only. Massively overpriced and misleading advertisement.

    Cannot get in contact with customer service. I have a dryer with a 10 year warranty and I cannot get anyone to answer on how to get it repaired. The phone numbers you call have from 40 minutes to 2 hours wait and I’ve been trying to get in touch with them for over six months. My “call back “consist of a message to go through the robot punching numbers over and over. The company does not stand behind their products by honoring their warranty, and it is impossible to get anyone on the Consumer helpline.

    Never again would I ever buy a Speed Queen top load washer. If I could give it a 0 rating, I would. Within 2 uses, the washer was leaking...and it wasn't leaking water, it was transmission oil!! Called customer support, and they sent a repair person out...in a week. He said it would have to go to the shop, and they couldn't get out to pick it up for a week, so we took it back to the store. In about a month, they had it "repaired", but when we got it back, it was still leaking oil. We took it back, and another 6 weeks passed, and we got it back. (I did ask if they could just replace it with a new one, but they said that they had to follow the Speed Queen company rules, and that wasn't an option.)

    This time, it didn't leak, but the quality of the machine is terrible. I can't use the fabric softener dispenser (on the dolly) because the washer doesn't spin well enough to empty the water completely, and there are drips of water and fabric softener in the bottom of the washer. If I have a medium size load of jeans or bedding, I have to run it through the spin cycle and additional time to get most of the water out of the clothes. And I can't wash an actual full load, even though it is supposed to be an extra large washer. Clothes don't get clean if I put a large load of clothes in. The agitator doesn't even do a good enough job that if a towel or even a pillowcase happens to be folded in half, when you take it out of the washer, it's still folded.

    Speed Queen lies. They advertise their washers last twenty years. We bought what they claim top of the line washer. Our washer lasted less than half the time they promised, nine years. We only have two people using the machine and we did not overload it. Six weeks a repair person from a Speed Queen authorized company and Speed Queen techs tried to diagnose. They were unable to repair. Yes, it was out of the warranty period and Speed Queen hid behind this. They would not offer any deal to try to make up for their expensive washer lasting no longer than any other brand of washer. Do not overpay for Speed Queen. Just bought a Maytag at one third of the price of the Speed Queen. Also notice there is no option on the Speed Queen website to enter a review.

    Bought what was advertised as Speed Queen’s top of line TR7 model washer and dryer. $4000. Dryer has been noisy since its original delivery date back in June 2025. Van Vreede Appliance will NOT stand behind what they sell. Their policy is to sell merchandise collect your money and wash their hands from any business relationship immediately upon collecting payment. If you should have any problems whatsoever, it is their policy to turn you over to a repair facility for repairs. They do not want to be bothered whatsoever with Any questions or concerns following the sale of merchandise and the collection of payment. Come to find out Speed Queen manufacturer also does not stand behind their product. They push back to the appliance store or the repair facility. Trying to navigate reaching a resolution in this environment is next to impossible as this has gone on for nearly 6 months now.

    Now November 2025, 4 service visits with Howie Voight repair technician along with Speed Queen’s Tech line. They are having difficulty not only finding a solution to the problem but the parts that they would like to try to replace they can’t even find the availability on the parts subsequently no future course of action at this point in time the only hope is that maybe somebody will be able to discover the availability of the parts and perhaps somebody from Speed Queen will reach out to Howie Voigt appliance repair with parts information and finally somebody will reach out to me the customer with a solution to the problem. How does this sound? Do you think I should hold my breath? Ask yourself do I really want to purchase a Speed Queen from Van Vreede??? UPDATE: Appliance repair company came December 23 for the sixth time. Speed Queen dropship the part they thought might be the problem. Repair guy installed the new part problem still exists.

    We purchased a front load Speed Queen washing machine and dryer after hearing they are known for reliability. Six weeks later, the washing machine began malfunctioning. We are on our 4th service call and they are still unable to repair the washer. For the last 3 visits, they just say they need to order the exact same part each time and it never works. I visited the Better Business Bureau website and found many similar complaints from people experiencing the same problems as us—repeatedly sending service, replacing parts, and still not fixed. I contacted Speed Queen to escalate and, both times, after speaking with someone, they never contact us back. This is the same story on many of the BBB complaints.

    I own a Speed Queen washer and dryer I purchased in 2022. I have had the service techs out 6 times. Door sensor not working on the dryer, main control board on the washer replaced, lock on the lid of the washer broken. Dryer drive system very noisy, replaced wheels on dryer drum. Stainless Steel washer drum rusting. Seals on dryer replaced.

    I bought the washer/dryer set less than a year ago and have had nothing but problems! Getting a repair services to come fix it has been extremely difficult. Customer services has not been able to help at all. I was under the impression that spending more money would give me a quality product and this is not the case. Spending your money elsewhere!

    Speed Queen expensive, built to last NO. Timers are junk and NO replacements. Heater contacts arcing melts wire. Disassembled timer to find burnt contacts. Not the only one with this issue. Seems to me there should have been a safety recall on the timers. Speed Queen must have pulled the junk timers part #D51150P. Can't find an original and nothing to replace it. Unit is 10 years old. Pulled my 22-year-old Whirlpool dryer out of storage to replace the Speed Queen. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!

    The dryer knob broke off and it was 1 year and 10 months old. The warranty company did give warning that if they don't cover it the trip charge is $250. Took them 5 days to get back to me and will take another 10 business days to get the part and then I have to schedule. So by the time I get it fixed it will be over a month. This is normal wear and tear on the machine. 3 adults live in our household. I spent $3,000 on both the washer and dryer and now the washer is also doing some weird stuff. Save your money and just get some cheep pair from Home depot. I bought from Grand Appliance and they can't do anything more to help me. I did do my research before buying and I thought I was going to be good for many years without my appliances going down. These machines are made just as crappy as cheaper dryers so save yourself some money and just get a cheaper machine.

    Waste of money! I saved up a lot of money thinking I was going to get a top quality washer. I’ve only had the TR7 washer 6 months & it does not clean clothes. I am constantly finding stains on clothes and dirt, debris or sand in my dryer, even after multiple washes. I’ve called customer service multiple times & 2 parts have already been replaced. They will not refund me or stand behind their defective machine. So disappointing!

    We have always purchased Speed Queen. Recently we purchased a new washer dryer and within two weeks the washer malfunctioned causing significant rater damage to our new house on the floors, ceilings and walls. The installers came and found a faulty water valve. They took videos of the valve malfunctioning and running even when the machine was unplugged. Once the valve was replaced they took another video showing it was fixed. Speed Queen insurer, Sentry was provided with all evidence and strung us along for 5 weeks only to deny our claim stating the valve worked perfectly. Stuck now with huge moldy wet ceiling, no one to contact and speed queen putting their hands in the air for a machine they have video footage from their local dealer as malfunctioning. Buyers beware, this is not a good brand anymore.

    My brand new TR3 lasted two months before breaking down. Five weeks later, three service appointments and multiple parts ordered it is now working again. They finally replaced the control board, water pressure switch and the door latch. To add insult to injury, I had to rent a washing machine at $230 a month which Speed Queen would not reimburse me for. They are reviewing a "good will gesture", we'll see what that amounts too but my expectations are not very high. To say that I regret this purchase is an understatement.

    We waited years to treat ourselves to a top-quality/top-dollar Speed Queen washer and dryer. They have been nothing but disappointing. Some of the repairs needed in the first few years were covered by warranty. The same repairs are now needed outside of the warranty. Today I find out I need my fifth lid lock and a new motor board. It is suspected the motor board has been bad from the start and has been shorting out my lid locks. I called Speed Queen to see if there were recalls. The CS rep was rude and spoke as if I was bothering her. Save your money, Consumers! This is not the product you hoped for!

    My 83 and 90 year old parents bought a Speed Queen washer. 1,500 1.5 years old and for the last several month 7 technicians have come out changes all kinds of stuff because speed queen said it isn't the computer board but all technicians say it's the board. This washer has overfilled, not filled, won't wash, it does what it wants. When finished clothes have water running off of them. You can't speak to a manager or get any help. The stress has caused my mother to have several mini strokes and can not get her blood pressure down. My dad's blood pressure bid up now and having heart issues from the stress.

    I called 10/09/2025 and I was told the lease tech that came out 10/08/2025 was the second opinion. I replied the 7th opinion. They are not standing behind their warranty and they yelled at the technician. Because he has to be at the house when speaking to them. But he was unable to reach them when he was at the house. So they want him to come back so the speed queen technician which will be the 8th time so they can tell him to check the water line and filters and everything else. The guy already did all of this. All they want is your money.

    The machine was bought from Preferred Appliances on Trolley Rd in Summerville S.C and they have lied. I went in the store and took my friend a police officer dressed in regular clothing. And the lady said I'll call Speed Queen. I said when is the appt she said they will call you. But I knew she didn't call due to she didn't have us on speaker phone and she said 911, she called her husband the other part owner and I when I walked out we both said I truly hope she doesn't think we are that stupid.

    I would not buy anything from that store because they are not even trying to help or stand behind anything. And I will never purchase anything that speed queen makes. I don't look for them to fix anything and I was advised to get a lawyer due to what they are causing life threatening illnesses to my parents. My mom has now began to not be able to hold her bladder due to the strokes and stress from this. I need a washer to be able to wash her clothes daily as her health declines. I am taking their laundry on a daily basis to my home to wash and dry. We are going this weekend and buying them a washer. It won't be from that store or any association with speed Queen. And I was advised to keep wager. We unplugged it because it is cutting on by itself and scared it may catch the house on fire.

    Their church is getting her a washer. And the whole church is praying that God takes care of the horrific people. I would wash my underwear in mud before I would use either of the places. So stay away from both. Picture below is a what this machine is doing, all lights on and it doesn't know what it's doing. It's trying to wash, rinse, fill, and spin all at the same time.

    Purchased a TR5 and matching dryer because the previous reputation the brand had. Unfortunately, I wasn't up on all the models. Was trying to avoid anything with extra electronics. The closest Speed Queen dealer only had the TR5 in stock so that is what was purchased. So far the washer and dryer have washed and dried the clothes great. This isn't a big problem but rather a small irritating one. The washer beeps repeatedly even when there isn't a load of laundry in the tub. It beeps whether the lid is closed or open all times of day and night. It began doing this less than a year after the washer was purchased new and installed by the dealer. We have to unplug the washer between uses in order to not hear the constant beeping.

    The circuit board or control panel has already been replaced twice and it is doing it again. After this next service call is completed under warranty, this will make the third control panel it has in it. Hope to figure out a way to disable the part that produces the beeping sound in the event of another malfunctioning control board/circuit board. Also, the dryer Model DR5, while it dries clothes great, it has not been problem free either. The control panel in it failed within the first year. It would turn on all on its own at all and any time during the day and night regardless if a load of laundry was in it or not. It took a while to realize this was occurring since the unit is pretty quiet. Having the control panel replaced under warranty has so far taken care of the problem.

    Paid a Porsche price to get a top quality TR7 Speed Queen. Absolutely the worst appliance purchase of my 50+ year life. The machine does not even remotely dissolve the detergent if powder. Liquid also does not agitate enough to produce suds, either option just sticks to clothes. Speed Queen customer service is great (sarcasm implied). "Use Less Soap", "dissolve the soap first", "ensure you run the extra rinse option." How about produce a product that does the core function of what it is intended to do. I will put on Facebook marketplace soon and hope someone, like me, assumes the hype of this brand. I would buy Samsung before I would buy another speedqueen ANYTHING. And I hate Samsung with a passion. Wish I bought another LG like my old one.

    Approached by this employee who at first I didn’t think worked there due to his appearance then felt like he was trying to get me to pay him out of pocket to do my laundry which I have the app regardless but was just very unprofessional and a bad look for this business. After asking the guy his name he walked away and out of the store so I had to make up something to the other employee who said she was new but super sweet and helpful. She also wasn’t too sure of his correct name. Just what he goes by. After walking out I hear other people calling him Keam. Just a thought bad look having this employee.

    We bought Speed Queen washer and dryer 7 years ago because they were suppose to be quality and durable. We'll we have had nothing but problems with both units, have had the washer repaired numerous times under warranty and now the same problems start after warranty over. The dryer is the same, warranty is over and the dryer quits, we spend $300 to repair it and 4 months later something goes else bad. We are both 71 years old with no kids at home so it's not like we do a ton of laundry. Would not spend the extra money for these as Speed Queen is all hype and no quality.

    They apparently used poor quality Chinese metal to build my front loader. It's only 4-1/2 years old and is literally rusting away. Electronic board went out literally 2 months after warranty expired. While technician was repairing my washing machine I had him look it over to see why it was rusting so badly. Said he couldn't (or wouldn't... not sure) figure it out, but he said I had the cleanest trap he'd ever seen, so I know it wasn't anything I'm doing. Previously I had a Samsung front loader which I hated and it held up and lasted a lot longer than this Speed Queen will. Disappointed enough to never buy one of their products again.

    I bought a Speed Queen, washer and dryer. Installed the dryer and it had a hard fault. Called speed queen customer service. I was told that they would not cover the repair because I lived too far from the nearest service center. I do live 75 miles From the location it was purchased. However, they do not have a service center. I called the local service and was told that speed queen would not authorize the mileage charge for the repair speed queen said they would send me the parts free of charge and have access to their technical support.

    This is a brand new dryer that has never been used and failed upon installation. This is a terrible way to run a business. I purchased speed queen for the quality and made in America. I have had other speed queen products in the past and never had any problems. This is the first time I’ve had to use their service or should I say lack of service. Their customer service is horrible and I will never purchase another speed queen product ever again.

    I’ve been dealing with issues with my Speed Queen machine for over 7 months, starting before the warranty expired. Despite multiple service calls, no one has been able to fix it, and now that the warranty is over, I’m being told there’s nothing more they can do. For a brand known for reliability, this has been incredibly disappointing. I expected better support and accountability. Would not recommend.

    I bought a Speed Queen washer and dryer October 2023. Beginning February 2025 the lid lock started to break or malfunction leaving me with a tub full of water and wet clothes. The first time it sat like that for a week until a technician could come out. This time it's going to sit with water and wet clothes for over two weeks before it can be repaired. I read this is a common issue. In hindsight I wish I would have done a better job researching.

    I purchased a Speed Queen washer and dryer in October of 2021. It lasted until May 2025 before the drain outlet broke off the machine and flooded my laundry room. The machine came with a 3 year warranty. So the machine was about a year out warranty. Don’t buy the hype and spend the extra money for a Speed Queen. They don’t last any longer… and their warranty sucks just like the cheapest brand.

    I purchased a front-loading Speed Queen washing machine - model #PDR108W, serial #2410060021 - from a real live store in Birmingham, AL.- Alabama Appliance. I was replacing a dying Maytag, which I wasn't thrilled to pieces with. This washer is louder than any washer I have ever used. It doesn't clean clothes well. The salesperson was very rude. I was led to believe that this was the only front loader available anywhere. I miss my old Maytag! The pedestal isn't a drawer like my old Maytag. There is more, but I've covered what I needed to.

    My 15 year old Speed Queen Dryer: The cover over the heat inlet at the back of the dryer over time develops sharp burrs on the surface which grabs and tears the items as they tumble across it. I have tears in clothing and shredded towels. I have replaced the cover several times, I have tried sanding the burrs off. I sent an email to Speed Queen but never got a response except to say they got my email so far, maybe I will get a response from them but, my service dept at the appliance store says Speed Queen has made no updates to this part so I expect no resolution from Speed Queen. This problem should get attention after all these years, but Speed Queen obviously DOES NOT CARE ABOUT QUALITY OR CUSTOMER SATISFACTION!!!
