The personnel at SHW were very courteous and promptly gave me an answer on my question regarding a repair. After the initial conversation, they called back the same day to reconfirm that the repair had been approved. I received a check within a week. It is such a pleasure to work with courteous and competent representatives of a company. I wish this happened more often. I would not hesitate to recommend SHW to anyone in need of a home warranty.

Please do not use this company. They scammed me out of $200. They sent someone out to collect $45.00 for me to come see what was wrong with my air cond. The person collected the money but never came back to fix the unit. They did not send anyone else out to fix the unit. I told them I want a refund I paid for a year. I cancelled in the first month and they took $200 in cancellation fees etc. Which is almost half of what I paid for the whole year. Please research and use another company - they are unprofessional and unethical.

They have been fantastic! They never give you a hassle about covering the repairs as long as it's something covered in your contract. The service technicians they have sent have all been great. Everyone was professional and do quality work. I would never buy another home warranty if it is not a Select Home Warranty.

DO NOT PURCHASE A HOME WARRANTY FROM THIS WORTHLESS COMPANY! Submitted a claim on Saturday and was told I would receive an email 24 to 48 hours with contractor information. Monday comes around and receive a call saying they're processing my claim and would have to wait another 24 hours before getting a contractor. It's Tuesday and still no email. I called to get status and now being told that my claim is being denied because of some BS loophole. Worst home warranty in the planet. Spend the extra $50 to $75 and go with Landmark or American Home Shield.

I had a warranty with SHW for about 3 years now. I have filed a total of 4 claims. Once for my washing machine, dishwasher, air conditioner and plumbing issues. The most recent was the plumbing issues. The claims handling time and process was outstanding. The staff are very polite and friendly over the phone. They processed my claim quickly and had someone come out to me as soon as possible to make all the necessary repairs. I am happy I took the plunge 3 years ago to buy this warranty. It has come in use and had not disappointed me in the least. I highly recommend this warranty.

I had an issue with one of my appliances and made a request online. I received a call not too long from that from a very polite lady verifying my request and details. She was very thorough and courteous of my time and even educated me on other option I have for service. Once the service tech came out he showed up within the stated timeframe, fixed my issues, and he cleaned up after himself. That was a first for me because most techs will say they fix your stuff and leave everything else to you. This gentleman stayed and explained what he had done, showed me his work, and once I was satisfied he thanked for me. Great service all around.

No one got back to me until the next day. The customer service rep asked for more info, which I gave her. She said I would hear back within 24 hours. I did not hear back so I called on day 4 after the problem. I spoke with a very nice man who told me that it hasn't been 30 days since my policy took effect so policy is not active yet. I had no idea this was part of their way of doing things, especially since they advertise "first month free". Since I never got the policy, I had no way of knowing.

We had to replace a broken microwave that couldn't be repaired. SHW staff walked us through the process and the reimbursement check was received in a timely manner. We've had SHW on two homes for over 5 years and this was the first experience with this reimbursement process. It went well!

If I could give this company zero stars, I would. We have been waiting over a week to have our A/C & heat motor fixed because they won't call the contractor back to authorize them to come out. They have been called 3 times by the contractor & twice by me. The "customer service" reps don't answer the phone or hang up on you. I have yet to talk to a competent person at this company. I have requested FOUR times that they change the phone number on our account from our real estate agent's number to ours & they haven't even been able to manage that. DO NOT get a warranty through these people!

I purchased the platinum policy and additional coverages for my sprinkler system. I was very glad that I got that coverage in the end because when the sprinkler system was not working SHW processed a claim and sent someone to my home to fix it. They replaced parts and had it working perfectly. I saved a lot of money by having this extra coverage because I would have paid over a thousand out of pocket just to fix the sprinklers. Called about a AC problem 03/14/2016, Customer service rude and not interested in helping us. They informed us that it would take 24 HOURS to assign and get a technician in touch with us. 3/16/2016 no call back from Select Home Warranty. We called and the customer service rep told us they see the request but still do not have a technician scheduled. 0317/2016 We called again and they still did not have anyone scheduled. We called our local AC contractor and he will be here in this morning or this afternoon. We would need to get our contractor in touch with Select to authorize payment. Select told me they could not get anyone (technician) to come out yet.

In dealing with Select be sure you are ready to read the fine print on the contract. Also be sure you understand the reimbursement process. In dealing with other warranty companies I would pay the deductible and the company would bill the warranty company for the rest. Not at Select. You have to pay the repair company and then submit the paperwork to Select. After 30 days you are supposed to get your payment. In my experience I thought I was out of the initiation period and was getting more of a reimbursement for the work completed on my garage door. I wasn't even though I had to submit the claim twice because the first company that Select gave me didn't do home warranty work and didn't have an account with Select. So after waiting a month I submitted again. New company and they were great. Garage door fixed.

Fair enough. The second time I called my toilet was and the technician could not snake out the foreign object. The technician told us we needed a new toilet. At this point, I am ok with this because it should be covered. I call back and they tell me they don't cover camera scopes which they said the technician told them I needed. I found it hard to believe that I needed a camera as I have some experience with plumbing.

Contacted "Adam", a sales manager in NJ, who was rude and unsympathetic stating, "Filed a report with the BBB, really?" Since I have some free time, I'll make sure to spread the word to stay away from them.

I have had a warranty with them for over 5 years. All my income properties have a warranty as well and there is no one else I would get. They file claims quickly, pay out reimbursements when they say they will, and they are extremely patient over the phone.

This company is a complete rip off. It's my own fault for not reading the small print. Just please read completely before you sign up.

Found problem and reported to claims amount to repair. Did not hear anything about coming back. Called contractor for status. Said waiting on claims department for approval. I have a refrigerant leak in a rusting (evaporator coil) the warranty specifically covers condenser coils but does not name evaporator coils. In a heat pump the condenser and evaporator coils serve dual purposes depending upon weather in heat or cooling mode. They are trying to say they don't cover refrigerant leaks, however I paid an extra $50 to have freon replacement covered. They are telling me that If had proper maintenance there would not have been any trouble with the coil. According to the company they sent to fix it, that is a crock of **. They tell me they have to replace evaporator coils all the time. I did not have this kind of problem with American Home Warranty for two years before this. I cannot imagine this company is getting such high ratings without some kind of a buyout. It took them two weeks two calls to even get a service company to my house.

This is a horrible warranty company. I had two claim. 15 calls about my dishwasher and unfulfilled damaged out on refrigerator. This company gives you the run around. I am canceling my policy in the morning to go with the #1 home warranty company who covers refrigerators fully unlike these lying jack asses. Don't waste your money. If you do and make a claim you will soon find out you're wasting a lot of time with endless emails to send pics, receipt, etc., etc. not to mention the 6 weeks it took for a check to come to me when they said it would come to me within a week. They deserve 0 stars. Spend your 700 dollars on a top rated company not SHW.

After they finally agreed to pay $200 (initially they only wanted to pay $125) of $1050 pool pump replacement they still haven't sent the money. We are now going on 8 months. I have a refund and release agreement form signed 12/11/2015 from them but still NO money. Today is 2/29/2016. STILL WAITING. Hold times are ridiculous and promises that managers will call back are an outright lie.
