The Safe Step sales representative and installation team were very good. I haven't been able to use the tub because I haven't been able to get the hot water tank for it.

It's wonderful so far with Safe Step. We love our walk-in tub. The reps explained it to us really good and made sure we know how to work it. It looks a lot different than the other ones that we've seen on TV. It's built better all the way around. It's built to where the door pushes in because they left a swerve in the space there so that the door can push in and not out, and then we could pull the door. We've got room for our knees to push the door shut. It's just right for us.
They put a shower curtain inside the tub to go around, so we can't put the shower up on the wall. There's an attachment up there. We could hang the showerhead up on the wall and use it up there. But if we do that, it gets wet up on the back of that little place where the spigots are, and there's like a little shelf up above the spigots that gets wet, then water drizzles off of that shelf and goes to the floor. So, we'd have to use the shower by holding the showerhead with our hands, and that'll work out too. We're just waiting now to have someone get our well dug deeper so that we can keep enough water to always be able to fill the tub, and we're going to get a grant for that.

I love it. It's very nice. I'm enjoying it very much and I'm so glad I finally got one. I have a lot of arthritis and I've had hip replacements and it just helps me so much. It makes my body feel so good. I like the bubbles, the jets, the heated seat is wonderful and I like the lights and I turn music on and sat in there and just relax. It's helping me a lot.

I liked the looks of the Safe Step tub and it's a whole lot handy to use. I love the jets which are feet massagers. It's still an early stage using the tub, but it has helped my feet a little bit.

I've been having a problem with my back because I have arthritis and I was reading about the stuff Safe Step does and I said I'd try it and then see how it does. The sales rep was very nice. He explained the benefits and stuff I'd get from it, what I need to do for the first couple days to feel a big difference. Since I've been using it, I don't have any problems with that. I was getting ready to go have a surgery on my back, but since I've been using Safe Step, my back doesn't hurt, so I do not wanna go have surgery on it. The installation guys were very nice, I didn't have any problem with them. It is the best investment I have ever made.

My experience with Safe Step has been wonderful. It turned out to be just what I wanted and I'm really enjoying it. They gave me more options to choose from. Their sales rep was easy to contact and was able to explain the products to us. When the installation team came, they presented themselves and told me who they were. They checked it out and told me how long they would be. They cleaned up after they were done and it was nice when they left. I have the trouble of falling. So with the handheld shower, I can still sit and wash my whole body without getting up and down. I feel less pain especially in my legs, knees, and feet since having it. I'm very satisfied with them and I get so many comments from the members of my church and the people of my age who'd been in that they were considering the things that I received with my bathtub and they had never heard of anything like that.

I would recommended Safe Step. Their installation team was a hoot. I love them. They were very nice. I only hope that the jets would be stronger. I've had another tub in the past and I love the jets on it. It’s really very beneficial for my back and knees. These jets on my Safe Step are just too gentle. I hope there is way to turn them up.

I’ve used our Safe Step Walk-in Tub for five times already. I bought it for my wife because she had an aneurysm and when she's able to go downstairs to get in it, I want it to help heal her better. My favorite is the back massager for my bad back. However, the tub should be drained if it's been filled up too high to get all the scum off. There should be a little drain that sucks that off as that scum is not good.
The installation team took away the shower connections as well as supply line, shower head and faucet which I wanted because I was going use them. They probably threw them away. However, they left me the drains. But it's the idea and all the copper that I wanted as it was about $50 worth of copper. The shut-off valves, quick valves and everything I had were perfect. I got unions and couplings on it. That’s why, if anything went wrong with any part of the shower, all I had to do was use a wrench and take it apart. So far, it has been a wonderful experience.

I have another walk-in tub in my house in Florida and I liked it. When I heard more about Safe Step, I checked into it and liked its features better so I wanted to try a different one at this house and so I put the Safe Step tub in. I set this all up last year and the sales representative was very pleasant and explained the whole Safe Step experience. Then the installation team did an excellent job and was very pleasant. Everything was put in and cleaned up. At that time my water pressure was not real good and they're the ones that told me about it, they were very informative. The tub calmed me down more since I've used it. I like the fact that I can fill it partially and use it for my legs. I also like the microbubbles, the lighting, and the aromatherapy. I'm enjoying it.

We've talked with a couple of other tub people but we didn't like them. But when we talked to the Safe Step guy, he was real nice. He showed us one of the tubs, which he had in a van. It was a large tub, but he said we didn't need that. So, we went with what he recommended, but when it got in here, I didn't have a half inch space on each side of me. We were not pleased with that, but the installation people called around and they had a tub somewhere else. This was on a Saturday and they went and brought the tub to us and installed it on a Sunday, so that was no problem. My wife likes and really enjoys it.

The Safe Step tub is wonderful. My aunt got a tub already four years ago and only paid $12,000. There was an ad that said I'd get $2,000 off if I bought the Safe Step bathtub, but I had to pay more for mine. Their representative led me to believe that they would install everything and also told me I needed a new hot water tank, so I bought it and paid to have it installed but the installers didn't put it in. I had to spend another $1,000 for that hot water tank, plus the installation. So, all in all, I paid $14,000 for my tub. The tub is the grandest thing and nice to have. I love the tub. When I am deciding to take my bath, I go in there and push the heater because that seat is cold and it warms up. Also, I can take the nozzle, spray my hair, wash and rinse it and take my shower. When I'm not in a hurry, I can sit in there, fill it up, and enjoy.

I have restless legs and last night, I had gone with my husband to a doctor’s appointment which had taken all day. Riding back and forth, my legs gave me a fit. I got in my Safe Step walk-in tub and it eased it off and I was able to get out, get in my bed and go to sleep. My favorite feature of the tub is the massage since I can adjust it, but my least favorite is the heated seat because it gets too hot. Other than that, it has been a wonderful, exuberant and pleasant experience with Safe Step. The price was so much lower than what we had been quoted by some other companies. Their sales rep was very polite and pleasant, and explained everything to us in detail. Their installation team was very courteous and cleaned up after themselves. They ran into a problem but they solved it, explained to me everything that I needed to know about the tub before they left, like how to clean and care for it. I love my tub and I'm very glad that we got it.

We already had a couple of different estimates, but the salesman from Safe Step who came out was extremely helpful and very prepared. He answered all of my questions, and it seemed like the product was just more quality than the others. My husband had a stroke, so the salesman then offered some other suggestions because we were a little confused if we were gonna get the tub or the shower. He was just very knowledgeable and expressed his opinion in a very caring way and answered everything that we asked.
There were supposed to be two guys to do the installation but only one came. But, He worked really hard and did a fabulous job all on his own. Then the salesman did make a follow-up call after the installation to make sure that everything was okay. He asked about the condition of my husband and how things were going. He didn't have to, but he chose to do that and I was very impressed by it. My husband just came home Monday from the nursing home and have not had the opportunity to use the shower, but our overall experience has been completely satisfactory and better than I ever imagined. I've even talked to the social workers at the nursing home and gave them their information if ever someone is asking for any type of renovation for their bathroom.

I love my Safe Step tub. Their sales rep was excellent. When he came out to make the presentation and I saw the price it was very close to what it had been 15 years ago for other brands. The installation team was amazing. I thought it was going to take them all day to do it but they were in and out of here in a very short time. They even cleaned up after themselves. It is easy to get in and out of the tub, and my favorite feature is the jets. I also like having the shower part of it, I shower more than I use the tub.

For the past year, I’ve dropped 60 pounds and I can’t eat. My stomach won’t take anything. I needed something for medical purposes so I invested in Safe Step Walk-in Tub. I love it. I needed a car but I needed Safe Step more to stay out of the paying clinic. I used to be in there and I suffered and got out from under them myself. I got tired of all the medicine and all the shots. Their sales rep did a very good job. He did a lot of working for me around the house. And, their installation team were awesome. So far, I really enjoy my tub. If I hurt real bad, I'd get in it and it feels a lot better. I've been very satisfied except that the bidet is not working.

My mom had a Safe Step walk-in tub and since it's made in the United States, I decided to get one too. My favorite feature would be its microbubbles and that it does good on exfoliating and healing. I had a really bad tear on my leg, and I used that exfoliating thing a couple of times, and now it's gone and not even scarring. It was a fabulous experience and I've been recommending it to everybody I've talked to.

The other walk-in tub companies have contractors that come in while Safe Step does their own. Safe Step has their warranty too. The installers that came cared about what they were doing and made sure everything was right. Getting in and out of the tub is quite easy. I've just been showering in it right now but I'll probably use it more this winter.

I thought it would take them two days because they had to take facings out of the bathroom door, but they were finished rather quickly. They were timely in getting here, too. I got a walk-in bathtub from Safe Step because of the $1,500 off coupon and the tub had the new micro-bubbles. Their sales rep was wonderful. He even had his truck with a walk-in bathtub set up inside of it. I like all of the features of my tub. It's relaxing, easy to use and understand. But I do have a complaint. When I put my jets on, water hit the ceiling, and I had to clean up the water. Also, in my first time to use the tub, I didn't latch the door well. I thought that the tub is taking a long time to fill up. I looked over the side and saw it was full of water. That was my mistake but that might be something that they may need to stress to the customers -- to make sure that the door is latched good. That's my only bad experience with my tub. So far, I'm very satisfied with it.

I really wanted a tub that I could just open the door and walk in. I didn’t care for stepping over in the tub. My husband said to get a walk-in tub now because the older you get, you get worse and the prices for the tubs are going to go up. Safe Step came out here and they talked to me, and I decided on them because I heard they were better than the other companies. I like the size that I got. It's a bigger tub and the installers filled it up completely and showed me how everything worked before they left.

Safe Step seemed like it was sturdier and it would hold up longer. Since I was installing it in my home, I wanted something that would last. I worked with a man named Jimmy and he was extremely nice and answered all my questions. The installers came just a few days later and they were wonderful. They came in and took out the other tub that I had in there. They were very nice. They showed me how to use it and explained everything. I couldn’t be happier.
I have a couple of problems and I’m still waiting for somebody from Safe Step to come back. The cold water faucet is hot, and the hot water faucet is cold. Also, when they installed it, they had to do a surround to fill in the spot. They had me get in and sit in it to take a picture right after it was installed. From the front of the seat to the back of the tub, there’s a split where the tub meets the surround. They need to come back and fill that in. But other than that, the tub works beautifully and it’s even better than I thought it was gonna be. I have a lot of back problems and it's certainly making me more comfortable.

The Safe Step sales person was great at first but then it was hard to get a hold of him afterwards. We didn't find him too open and ready to help on our particular questions. There were some things we don't like about the tub. I'm six-foot and I have to really squeeze my feet around to get around the door. I didn't like that the door swings in as well. The tub was also supposed to come with a sliding shower attachment but it didn't, so I had to order an extra one. It was also annoying at first that the shower hose sticks but that finally stopped. Most of the time my wife just takes a shower in the tub, not a bath.
When I was in a Jacuzzi tub, I could feel the pressure of the water coming from the jets. With the Safe Step tub however, I couldn't feel this pressure somehow. I also didn't feel the bubbles. My wife says she feels them but I don't. Maybe I'm too tough, but the tub didn't give me the satisfaction I was hoping it would. The installation team did a good job though. They installed it all in one day and it wasn't any disruption.

My wife was having trouble getting in and out of the bathtub, and she hates showers, so we got a Safe Step walk-in tub. Here we are a month later, and my wife has used it several times. I’m not a bath person, I’m a shower person, but she’s trying to get me to get in it. We’ve been quite happy with the product. My wife is still trying to figure out all the gadgetry and I help her get it filled up and things started and go through the procedure, but she can handle it by herself right now because it’s simplified. She just has to remember what steps to go through. We had the laminated thing that shows what steps to go through that the installers gave us. It’s a prompt up at the end of the tub and she can reference that. It’s been a delightful addition to our household.
My wife loves it. She likes the microbubbles, but mostly, sitting in with the jets blowing. We just got into our 70s so we develop different aches and pains every day. I’m not sure if it's fewer or not after the tub was installed, but my wife likes the jets beating up on her since it relaxes her. In addition, my grandchildren love the different lights. I had to show them all the different colored lights.
The sales rep and the installation people were exceptional. They took the time and the effort to run through the whole thing. I’m a retired engineer so I’d like all the steps to be right, and they took care of all that. The sales rep left a number and gave us the name of the installation people that were coming and she had given us a good briefing on what to expect, and everything turned out perfectly. The installation team walked me through exactly what they were going to do. They said there was going to be a little bit of noise when taking the old one out. My wife at that time was a little bit incapacitated but we were pre-warned on everything, so it went very smoothly. In fact, it was amazing that they said they’d be here at 8:00 and take four hours. They got here a minute before 8:00, and were gone three minutes before 12:00. That’s precision.
We’ve already recommended it to several people and bragged about it a little bit. The price tag is a little stiff for a bathtub. It’s like going out and buying a car. That’s the only real drawback. In fact, it took us a little bit of thought process. The representative kept working with us, suggesting different things, options, and the benefits. We finally conceded that we were going to buy it. Our overall experience has been fine. Everything has gone smoothly. However, I’ve never seen any bill. In the beginning, I am going to pay $450 a month for 18 months. And now, I don’t know who to pay, and nobody has ever sent me a bill or an email.

We’re enjoying the bathtub but we need a splash shield on the right wall where there’s a wallpaper in there. Other than that, we love it and it’s working for us.

I bought the Safe Step tub for my brother who's an amputee. I was at Lowe's and asked about the tub. I initially thought I could buy it and put it in. But even the stuff from Lowe's was expensive, so I thought that we might as well make Safe Step do it all themselves. So the rep showed us a video and explained everything that we were getting. I was impressed how informative their people were and how knowledgeable the guy putting it in was because it was really easy for him to hook it up. We were watching on the installation and we have irritated him, but he just took it to one side like he was used to people.
My brother loves the tub. His foot has an ulcer on it due to diabetes, so I was concerned if he's gonna lose more, so I explained to him what the microbubbles are supposed to do. When he started using the microbubbles, the bottom of his foot is no longer bleeding as badly as it was. Prior to having it, he was telling me that he'd ask the doctor to kill him because he didn't wanna live like that. So lately, he has not said that and hopefully, he realized there's more to life.

I saw a Safe Step ad in the Sunday papers and when I went out on the internet and looked at it, it had everything that I needed. I didn’t bother to look for anything else. The sales rep was incredible and very sensitive to our physical needs. I’m going through a lot of physical stuff including cancer treatment and have a lot of trouble walking and getting around, while my wife just had a knee replacement. He also got that tub in here quicker than he’s ever done. The financing was done almost overnight.
Within the next week, the installation was done. I was also very impressed at how sensitive the installers were. They had to do some drilling and before they started, the guy came out into the hallway and my living room and started taking pictures off the wall. He said, “I don’t want to vibrate these down and wreck them.” Later on when they were done, it was ready to use. We didn’t have to clean up and they showed us how to use it.
My wife can’t use the tub yet because her knees haven’t healed, but it’s been great for me. I feel like I’m getting stronger every day. When I came back to the US, I was in an ambulance, in a wheelchair, and now I can go to the store and walk around. One has got to deliberately set time aside to take advantage of the tub. It would be a waste of time to rush in there and take a five-minute shower and rush out. Overall, Safe Step was very professional on how they related to the customer and their product is what it says it is.

So, the tub is dual purpose. The installation team did a fine job. But they told me they were going to send me a shower curtain as soon as they got back to their office. I didn’t know a lot about it, but I knew that I needed to make a change because I was having trouble with the bathtub having to step over it and then get up to get out of it. As you get older, you need something that you feel safe in. It’s much easier to feel safe in something that you can sit elevated in and be able to walk out of and not be afraid of falling. I hadn't had a bath for four years. I had to take showers because of my legs. I couldn't get in my tub, so I couldn't sit down and I couldn't get out. I had fallen trying to get out of it. I was trying to get on my knees but I couldn't. It was just a catastrophe. A friend gave me a bench she put in the shower but I didn't like it either. So when I saw the ad about Safe Step in some paper and I just called them. I'm 84 years old, and I make up my mind just right there. I didn't check on the other prices somewhere else because the person I talked to convinced me that this is the best tub. The salesperson and the installation guys were very nice and great. The installation team even took the old tub to have room for the new one. They put that in for me, which was great.
With the Safe Step tub, I can sit down and take a bath. However, the side panel is not tight and it was left like that. It's very loose on top and it won't push back in. I didn't know it until I saw a crack in it. It pushes right in. I haven't contacted customer service yet because it's not hurting anything as long as it doesn't fall off and I hate to have a guy come out just to fix it. Also, I don't like the way the shower is because I spray the floor. I didn't realize that you couldn't just turn the shower on and it's gonna spray out like that. So I had to make sure I got the nozzle out of the thing when I turn it on. It happens because of the way it's facing the opposite direction than if it was facing the other way. It also took me a while to figure out that I got to sit in and wait for the water to run in. But it doesn’t take that long. After I got used to getting in it and then running the water, I'm fine.

I have a chair at the moment in our shower where one can sit but we thought as we get older, we will probably need a walk-in tub so we got one from Safe Step. I haven't used it yet because I like the shower but sometimes I thought at night, if my muscles are hurting or I've been working, maybe I'll climb in and use it. Everybody from Safe Step was very good. We wanted it, got it and we're happy with it.

I still have aches and pains but I feel safer, and I'm enjoying my Safe Steps right now. I like to sit in it, just soak and then shower off. I run the jets on like that. I had a problem with the shower and I called yesterday, and the lady explained to me how it worked. The representatives were very friendly and courteous and the installation team was great. I was surprised that we had not heard from the salesman after we made the purchase and the installation. No one came out to look to see if it was installed properly or how it was looking. For that type of expense, I think somebody should. But, we did receive a computer generated postcard a couple of days late.

I had reported that I received a step in tub that was too small in width - but Safe Step installers promptly replaced it with a reasonable size one. And has responded to all our requests. My mom age 98 is now enjoying taking a bath as well as my husband and I. I would highly recommend safe step walk-in tub to others.
Original Review: July 20, 2016
On July 7, 2016 the installers came and tore out my seated shower and installed a Safe Step Walk-in Tub. When installed we were told not to use it for 3 days. When I attempted to bathe for the first time, I sat down to close the door and found that I was unable because my legs were in the way. We only have one bathroom and no other tub so my being 76 years old with disabilities had to step up with one leg on the high seat and squeeze back and call my husband to come into the bathroom to close the door to the tub.
It is not enough room to hardly move your arms outward to bathe yourself. Even my 98 year old mother who is smaller than myself and my husband had trouble lifting her legs and arms to bathe because the width of the space in the tub is too tight. My husband has the same complaint. We are very very disappointed and want to return the tub. We were not measured just asked what our weight was and did not know that it would not fit us comfortably when installed because we were told not to use it for 3 days. We are requesting that you please come and get your tub and refund us our money back for the purchase price we paid. And, no one has called us other than the lady who sold it to us and she has no power to resolve this matter. I have called again at 1-800-989-5101 and was referred to the Sales Manager Chris **. I left a message and am awaiting a return call.

I’m in a wheelchair and my husband has back problems, and he's going to a therapist. My daughters come over twice a week to help me take a bath. And I thought a walk-in tub might free him up. I could get a walk-in tub so I could do it by myself. The main reason I went with Safe Step was the warranty that they had with it, and I hope it holds up as well as they say it does.
The salesman that came out gave us an awesome demonstration. He had the tub that we could look at. Not a picture of it, but an actual tub on a trailer. His name was Jim and he was very knowledgeable, friendly and very professional. The installer was great, too. He did something extra for us and I was gonna pay him, and he told us we already paid enough for the tub and that was okay, which was really nice. I love the lights, the back massage that helps our backs and the little microbeads that clean you even better than soap.

My wife wanted a walk-in tub so I started doing research online. Safe Step was better-priced though what they were offering was equivalent to two other tub manufacturers. Their sales reps were very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. They laid out everything clearly as to what was gonna happen, what the process would be, what the features of the tub were, and why certain features were better than other feature tubs. The installation went smoothly. The team knew what they were doing, they handled everything professionally and looked very well. It only took them five hours to install and that worked for me. The dual jets and microbubbles are my favorite.

We had the Safe Step salesman come to our house to tell us about their tub and he was absolutely great. Compared to what Lowe's is offering, Safe Step is a few steps above. When the old tub was taken out, a lot of rotted wooden stuff was found and we had to call a contractor in to fix that. The installation team had to stand down but after all the repairs were done, they came on right back and went on. It’s been about a month since they installed the tub and everything was good except for one thing. The tub was supposed to have come with a pole to attach the shower on to but it didn’t have that. They promised to come back and install it and I've called once a week ago but nobody has come yet so I'm still hoping they come. My wife likes the heated seat and I like being able to walk into the tub and I'm gonna have a knee replacement in a couple of days so I can walk in to the tub without stepping over the big lift.

The Safe Step installation team was great. We were really amazed at how easy the guys came and quickly installed it. I like all the features of my tub because we can sit down or shower. The only problem we've got is the right-hand jet cover keeps blowing out. Every time we put it back in and turn it on again when we fill the tub and turn it on, the cover shoots back out.

We have a Safe Step walk-in tub that we got four years ago. We subsequently got a shower from them since it was cheaper than their competitors. I was happy with my tub when it came. I got it for my wife because she has a back problem and can’t step high. I now have a bad back, and I like to shower, and this worked out great. With my Safe Step walk-in shower, I like that I only have to step up two inches and it has plenty of grab bars. I feel safer because I can grab hold of something. The house was built in 1993, and my other shower that came with the house did not have grab bars.
The installation people were super. I kept asking them questions and they answered most of them, but when we got down to the end and the shower curtain, they had to call the home office because they did not have a copy of the contract. Evidently, there’s a communication problem between the people who sold the product and the people that put it in. The original contract was transposed onto another sheet of paper, and they left out the shower package, so when the guys got the contract to install the shower, their paperwork showed no shower curtain. My paperwork showed the shower curtain.
When they called the home office, they said that they would send me one in the mail which they did, except it was the wrong size. They sent me a shower curtain that goes with the walk-in tub, so two feet off the bottom has no shower curtain. I then went to Walmart and bought a shower curtain, hung it up and we moved on from there. It's not a big deal. Everything is functioning as it should and I’m pleased with it.

I've checked other companies and Safe Step’s been around longer and had the best record when I've checked with the BBB. I was at a point where I was interested in either their tub or shower conversions. We were looking at the tub but the more I looked at it, I thought I'm not a big tub person and wanted the shower more. I talked with a gentleman named Jim and he told me that maybe what I wanted was a shower conversion with a seat in it. Jim worked well with me and was honest in saying I'd be happier with the shower conversion even though it was half the money, which meant half his commission. He could’ve kept telling me how he could fix the Safe Step tub because they could’ve put a handheld shower, but I'm not going to be able to stand up in it and shower. I'm sure he really lost money on the sale as far as his commission.
My old, cast iron tub had the original faucets, which leaked all over the place, and I was petrified the whole time that Safe Step was going to be tearing it down that I'd end up with water damage and it would cost me more money. But there was nothing – no mold, no water damage, no nothing. I used to have panic attacks when I had to take a shower and I've gotten to where I only would take one a week because I was so horrified of getting in or out of the tub and I might fall, which I had before, because I've got problems with my hips and stuff.
I like everything about the work done. I enjoy my shower and I look forward to getting into it. Everything's pristine, pretty and easy to use. The installers put in a nice adjustable showerhead and an adjustment slide. They also had me come in when they were placing the safety rails to tell them where I wanted them placed for them to be useful to me. I also had a seat that was separate that they had to install and they did it to my height. I enjoy it and will enjoy it for the rest of my life. Overall, I was very pleased with the workmanship, professionalism and the quality of the materials that I've got. Everything about Safe Step was excellent. They did a great job and it was a very professional work.
The only issue was that they wanted me to sign the paper that would release the money from the finance company to pay the contractor that did the job ahead of time saying that I was happy with what I've got. They said they won't send it through and it would be dated when we're done. It's just that they deal with a lot of elderly people who sometimes won't sign anything after everything's done. I told them I won't sign it until I get what I get and I'm happy with it. But the finance company still wouldn't have released the money even though they got the paper because they called me after I signed the paper after the work was done to make sure I was happy before they released the money and that I didn't have any problems or need Safe Step to come back for anything.

I called Safe Step to get a price and they sent a salesman out. The sales rep was very knowledgeable about telling me how the tub was made and what materials it was made of. The installation team was very good. The only problem that I had with them was one of the guys poked a hole in a chair that I had in the bedroom. I called customer service right after the installation and the installer called me. I told him about the chair but he said he had a high deductible on his insurance so I have not pursued that with him but with the amount that I paid for the tub the chair should be covered with a re-cover. But other than that, the tub is great and I'm enjoying it.
I like the tub's heated seat, the lighting in it, and the jets. Since installing it I feel safer and it's helping my arthritis. I'm now using it instead of going to the wharf for water therapy. It's a great way to spend a little extra money if people have it. The tub is expensive but it's a very good thing for people to have the things that they're looking for in something therapeutic.

The presenter from Safe Step was knowledgeable and very friendly, and his presentation was excellent. He had the actual product in the back of his van and that's brilliant because to talk about it is one thing, but to actually see the product firsthand makes a huge difference. We also really liked the way the product was manufactured. It's very sturdy and solid, and has a high quality. My mother's favorite about it is the height of the seat and the easy drain location as she doesn't have to lean way over to drain the tub.

We had a misunderstanding with Safe Step. We had carpet down on the floor, and we asked the rep if we should go ahead and pull it back and she said no that they’ll do all that. The installers put the tub in and didn’t take the carpet out. I’m 62 years old and my husband is 68. He’s had a stroke and his shoulder is messed up and we had to go in there and take all that carpet out and cut it around and put a rug down. We took off $1,000 of the payment, but it was worth a whole lot more than that because we had a lot of work. Another thing is when the door is accidentally hit by a knee, it can come open and water will shoot out the door. It happened to my husband. We thought it was locked but he was able to open it with his knee. But I like the tub because it has bubbles in it in the feet.

The men who did the installation were helpful about doing things and they cleaned up after themselves. Everything's okay about Safe Step except it takes too long to fill up. The person who came out went downstairs, looked at my hot water heater and said it won't run out of hot water. Well it does before I can get it filled up. They also didn't tell me a thing about how long you sit there waiting for it to get filled up.
All it does is the jet, but I have to wait a long time for it to get filled up above the jets, behind my back. I asked them to come out and show me how to do a certain thing and the rep was nice about that. But the man who sold it never even contacted me back. Also, when I get in the tub and close the door, it's a bit hard to get out. They didn't put the end of it down where they were supposed to. I should have checked one out before I bought it. They did let me call a person or two. The person said they like it and she did tell me it took a little while to fill it up. I wish I could get my money back but it doesn't make any sense now. By the time they put my bath tub back in there, there's no telling how much they'd charge me. I wouldn't recommend them.

My husband liked Safe Step's presentation and when he called, the guy answered the questions that he had about it. I'm a shower person and my husband is interested in being able to take a bath in the tub. So I was the one that had to be really sold. I'm about to have knee surgery and he kept telling me that this will do me good when I have my surgery. So that was the feature that sold me on it. When you have surgery, you want to sit down. And even though we have a seat in the shower I still have to get up and down, and this will be a lot safer. I can get in the Safe Step tub better than I could before. We had the garden tub before and this one is easier to get in. Right now I can get in by myself and I don't have to be mindful of myself in and out. I also like the jets.
As we get older, this walk-in tub will be something that we'll need more. So it was a purchase that we are going to be pleased with for years to come. Moreover, the two gentlemen that came to install the tub were friendly and very informative as to what they were going to do. They talked as they were installing, but not throughout because they would have tampered their work level. They told us what they were doing and answered any questions that we had while they were doing it. They were very courteous. They also cleaned up when they were done and they didn't leave a mess.

We’re enjoying our Safe Step Walk-in Tub very much. Their sales reps were very helpful. We discussed the tub when they came and we made a down payment on that same day. Their installation team did a good job. They had to take a door frame loose on one side and they put it back up where you can’t even tell it. It took them a little longer than they expected in widening that door but they did an excellent job. They cleaned up everything and I’m very happy with it. I like the jets for our knees and feet because I’ve gotten neuropathy from sugar diabetes. My fiancée had a total knee replacement and that helps her too. I stay in it for 45 minutes.
When we get in, it relieves our pain in our joints. I use it mostly for shower. I turn the thermostats up on the hot water heater and that helped. I’m a large fella, 6’ 4” and weighs about 275 pounds. It’s been a long time since I’ve been able to take a tub bath. It really cleans pores with the micro jets. I’m very happy with it. It’s very relieving and we're not having any trouble getting in and out of it. However, the seat could be a little lower than what it is, but it works fine. Other than that, I’m very happy with it.

Safe Step went above and beyond. My dad is 93, lives by himself, is very hardheaded, and was against getting a nice step-in shower at first. But luckily, his shower doors broke and we were able to talk him into it. That evening we went online and saw the different features Safe Step had which we liked. Their website gave us a lot of information compared to other websites that don't have quite as much. We sent an email with our information and they contacted us within an hour. They were the first ones to contact us. The second company we contacted took several days to get back to us while the third one never did.
On Memorial Day Safe Step went to my dad's house to give him an estimate and Dan was the sales representative. He was great with my dad because my dad is pretty set in his ways but he did a wonderful job. We think their price was excellent. They gave us a Memorial Day discount and my dad also got a discount for being a World War II veteran so we really appreciated that. They were there within 10 days and had the shower in and it was a wonderful experience. The guys who worked on the installation were wonderful and did a great job. They were friendly, quick, efficient, cleaned up after themselves, and actually took a couple of extra things like the shells my dad had in his tub and put them in the dumpster.
My dad loves Safe Step. He doesn't have to step over the tub anymore and the bar is right there for him to get his arm on to step in. It's only a four-inch step and he feels safer. He doesn't do change real well and any change is very traumatic for him so it took us several days to talk him into even using it but once he used it, he is sold. Before getting the step-in shower he wasn't showering every day because it was such a hassle. He has two artificial knees and has one of those things like a stick-on handle that he has to stick on the side of the tub. He was so paranoid about getting in the shower he didn’t shower every day. Now he does and he's pretty happy.

I'm a shower person and I like to get in and get out, and that's what's nice about the tub.
However, I look at that tub and all I can think of is the absolute, ungodly amount of money I'm paying for it. I'm insane to buy something that costs $13,500. I'm going to have to figure out how to come up with $1,000 every month to pay that sucker off without paying any interest. But the shower feature is wonderful and I love it. And the nice thing about the Safe Step tub is it's gonna keep me on my diet 'cause if I gain any more than 5 pounds, I wouldn't be able to get into it. I'd recommend it to a friend but be sure you do your research and investigate every other tub out there and see if there's anything that would make you happy. This tub is very expensive. It's probably worth every penny but you have to be prepared to pay for it.

It took them a while because I didn’t know how they were going to do it but they found a way to go in the attic to put it.
I don’t use the tub often because a lot of water goes to waste with it. Otherwise, I'd love to use it every day. However, once I get in it, I have to sit there for half an hour because it feels very good and I don't wanna get out. My favorite feature would be the whirlpool thing which I use for my feet and back. It's very therapeutic and I'm very satisfied with it. Whenever I use it for my feet, they feel better. It also makes me sleep better and longer without waking up to go pee. Even my kids love to use it too. The new one is a little bit smaller than the one we had before. I really liked the first one because it gave us a little bit more room but I also like the new one because it's more modern. My favorite feature is the way that I am turning the main box on. With the old tub, I had to take my finger and push way down on the middle button. For the new one, the main box has everything on it. It's just easy to push and get everything turned on again. That way, it's also easier for the jets to get going. Similar with our older tub, I'll get in there with aches, get the jets going on, and it feels a lot better. It's good all the way around. It's great, fantastic, and very enjoyable.

I'd been looking into walk-in tubs for quite some time. A program was opened to the VA, and the salesman who came to our house mentioned that they have a VA department at Safe Step, and there was a good discount. Because of the discount and the VA helping me out, I was able to afford a tub. Safe Step assisted me in getting the VA paperwork taken care of so that was good, and they brought down the price. Although I still ended up paying a little over $3000 with my own pocket money out of the deal, I couldn’t have gotten a tub of that quality for $3000. In that respect, VA did nicely for me and the government chipped in $6800. I'm a 100% disabled vet, so this was good for me.
The Safe Step sales reps were friendly and the installation guys were professional. They made a big effort to put down a cardboard along the tiled floor so that it wouldn't get damaged, however, they didn’t clean up everything when it was over. My wife said they should've taken a picture of our bathroom so that they know what's in there and where it is before they move stuff. And then when it's all over, they could just look at their photos and see where everything goes. Other than that, my wife said they did a fine job compared to some other workers we've had in the house.
My Safe Step tub is a nice adjunct. I had a tub that I was afraid to use as getting in and out tend to be dangerous since I would get out and step on a wet floor. I had one foot in the area and one in the tub, and it worried me a little bit. As far as actual improvements on the tub, there are a couple things. First, it has a couple of buttons that are highly polished that need to be turned. They look good but are very slippery, especially if I have soap on my hands. The buttons have to do with the flow of water, and it sounds easy to turn them, but when in the tub and my hands are wet and with soap, it gets a little bit hard. Also, I have arthritis in one hand and the other hand is a little iffy sometimes, so it would be nice to put a coined edge rather than a nice polished edge. They look good but are not very functional.
Secondly, it would be nice if they'd give a small bag of toiletries to start off with. For that price, it might be nice to put in a $5 worth of real stuff to use. It would make at least the first incident to be more successful. We had to go out and get soap. I used Dawn soap because they said they didn’t want it really oily, so I put some soap in there and what happened was, all of a sudden, suds were shooting out of the two exits of the water. I had to call my wife who then tried her best to get rid of the excess bubbles that were everywhere.
I like the jets, and the water is coming out, but it would be more relaxing on the muscles if some of the jets were a little stronger. They're good and in fact, the one in the back almost shoots one out of the chair when trying it the first time, which is okay. I would like it to be stronger sometimes. When I played sports in high school and college, they had whirlpools, which really develop a current in comparison, and I was hoping it would be a little more like that, but it's a nice gentler type of situation and feels very good.
Additionally, my water heater may be inadequate because when I fill it up, it starts off nice and warm, but by the time I get to the last six inches, I run out of hot water. So from that point on, I'm cooling down the water instead of heating it up. Make sure to have a good water heater and be aware of where the buttons are for the flow. I found them. There's a little chart they give where one can look things over when using it for the first time. And the first time I used it, I used that chart but didn’t notice that it was getting damp. It appears to be layered in complete plastic, but it's not, and the paper underneath the plastic that it's coated with gets wet and starts to wrinkle. The booklet that I got was water-resistant but not completely waterproof.

Their sales reps were knowledgeable and courteous and they put the tub in as soon as I ordered it and they got it in fast. Their installation team was real polite. I've watched them put it in and they tried to explain to me what they were doing. I feel cleaner using the tub. With the mixture that the air gives it, it seems to clean me up better than anyone I've seen before. However I'm very dissatisfied with the door. I thought I could get in and out of a Safe Step Walk-in Tub better than others but I was wrong. I'm in a wheelchair and when I get in, I can step in and go pretty good. But when I come out, I've been doing it backwards and I can't reach the handhold. Had to come in forwards the first time and it just didn't work. Then the night before last, I was getting out of the tub and my leg gave way and I settled into that narrow gap in the door. I'm badly handicapped and I had a terrible time getting up.

I'm an old 86-year-old lady and I'm blind so sometimes I push a different dial before I get the tub to do its thing. Other than that, I'm getting along okay with it and I hope to continue. The salesman was very nice and knowledgeable. Their installation team were the greatest. They had a two-hour or so drive to get here and they've never been down in this area before. This is the first tub that they installed in this tri-state area. We're about 15 miles or less from Michigan and the same from Indiana and we're in Ohio. They worked the whole time from 9:00 in the morning until a little after 5:00 and they did a beautiful job on it. I like the jet and I have learned to turn my warm water on first to get at a temperature that I wanted, then shut it off and then crawl in the tub and put the drain down.

There is a build-up of black mold and bacteria in the jets. This black junk stays in the pipes until you use the tub again, then it all comes out into your bath water the next time you bath, ugg. Very, very unhealthy.
this is not our customer but a California dealer, whom I spoke with about this complaint and they have been in contact with her. The owner there personally spoke with her and they have made arrangements to go to her house on Tuesday and clean her tub and go over cleaning and maintenance with her. Again, this is not Safe Step Walk In Tub customer, so please remove from our site.

It's been a pleasant experience with Safe Step so far. The sales rep was very nice and willing to work with us. He had the information on the other ones. He had sales slips and pricing. We bought what we thought would be the best tub for us. The only drawback is the price. It has been a financial burden but it is what it is. The installation team was very clean, polite, patient and understanding. When dealing with senior citizens, it's not always the easiest but they were wonderful.
My husband is not fond of the tub at all. He has a very serious medical condition where his mobility is extremely limited. In order to use the water jets, we have to fill the tub all the way up and that takes a while between 15 and 20 minutes. And then as he's sitting straight up in the tub, it barely comes to his armpits. So it's not as easy for him to slouch down to get it up higher and he doesn’t feel like the water jets and the micro bubbles really do much. But I think it's because of his progressive degenerative condition.
Had he been able to try the tub first, we probably wouldn't have bought it just because it's harder for him to get slouched down and use it the full way. But for me I love it. Everything’s working fine and there's been no leaks and no issues except there was the little oval on the door that says “Safe Step Walk-in Tub.” At times, it seemed like it was coming loose. I kept pressing that down and feeling it and it's better now.

We're glad we got our Safe Step walk-in tub. It's very nice. The sales rep was good and the workers that put it in were very nice. I like that I can just sit there, relax and get those jets working on the sore places that I need it. It's very satisfying. It's also convenient for us because I was always afraid of my husband and I falling and it's proven to be very good and we can get in and out of it.

We liked that our Safe Step tub was made in the USA and that it has a lifetime guarantee. Also, the sales rep was very informative. He told us a lot of details that we hadn't known and some things to consider. The two installation gentlemen were outstanding as well. They worked very hard, and they're very clean, courteous and informative. They went through all the features of the bathtub.
We enjoy our tub and it's been really therapeutic with our backs and legs. Also, my little granddaughter loves it. We thoroughly like our tub, but I particularly like the microbubbles and the foot massage is really wonderful because I have a part-time job and my feet take a beating. My granddaughter likes the lights and the microbubbles, too. It complements our bathroom when you look at the aesthetics. The representative said that our water heater might not be big enough to have a nice and warm bath, but so far, that has worked out well. We have plenty of warm water for bathing.

I purchased a Safe Step bathtub since they have a coupon that gives $1,500 off, and the salesman who came to see me was so nice - it convinced me completely. The day the installation people came to my home, I was in a rehab center for vertigo and my neighbors stayed here while they installed it, and they did a perfect job. I couldn't ask for anything better. With my tub, I have fewer aches and pains. I like the bubbles that come through the spa. I have arthritis and it helps to relax my muscles and nerves. It's fantastic. In fact, I got in it yesterday and stayed there for almost an hour because I almost fell asleep. It felt so good but I don't need to stay that long.

I compared all of the walk-in bathtub companies, and I liked the features that Safe Step had on their tub. I like the step-up getting into the tub, nice and low for a pro. My sister likes the microjet. It's also very easy for her to get in and out of the tub. She can take a bath by herself now, which is perfect. The only thing that needs to be improved is that the button for the seat heater should be up front instead of being on the back of the tub.
The sales rep was fantastic. He answered all my questions and was pretty much straight to the point in everything I wanted to know. The installation team was fantastic, too. They were in and out of here in about five hours. One couldn't even tell that they were there since they cleaned up after themselves. I've already recommended Safe Step to a friend.

I got a Safe Step Walk-in tub for my daughter. She has some physical problems and I had a nice tub but it was too hard for her to get in and out of. She had taken a spill before and I wasn’t gonna take a chance on that again. There were three companies that were advertising, but the Safe Step looked like the best bet. Their sales representative was very informative and answered all of my questions. He even gave me information that I really didn’t think to ask. The installation team was super. They were in and out in about six hours and was a really great team. I definitely would recommend Safe Step.

The gentleman from Safe Step I talked to did not pressure me to do anything but other walk-in tub people did. They won't give a ballpark figure what something's gonna cost. They got to come to my house and I objected to that, because nobody could give me an idea. I wasn't asking for a firm price, I was asking for a ballpark price. So, I went with Safe Step. On the installation, the young man and his helper came in on time. They wanted to get done and it was more than one day because of wanting the wall to go all the way to the ceiling around the tub.

My husband has diabetes, and it's bothering his legs, so the doctor suggested we get a Jacuzzi or something similar. However, they're hard to get in and out of, so we thought that a walk-in tub would be better. We got a Safe Step Walk-in Tub and it's really nice. The sales guy was wonderful, and was extremely nice, informative, and it was fun visiting with him. He looked in our bathroom and told us how the new tub would fit. The people that came and put the tub in also did a great job. They installed the tub in a day, and also took the old tub. They made the tub fit under a window and it's beautiful. We had to put a little bit more floor down because our old tub was bigger, but the new tub's great with the new floor.
All of the Safe Step tub features are very convenient. I like that it massages the back and shoulders, and the one for the leg is awesome because it hits the right place at the back of the calf. I also wash and rinse my hair with the handheld sprayer, and that makes it very easy. I can slip down into the tub and it's still comfortable, so I no longer need to have a neck pillow. Unlike our old tub, which was so big that I'd slide down into it. Plus, it also took a lot of water to fill it, compared to the Safe Step tub. Everybody in the family that comes over think that the bathroom looks so much better. We love our new tub, and have recommended it to a couple of friends.

They said they’d be here at a certain date and time, and they were here. They worked all day and put it in, and didn’t even take a lunch break. We really like our Safe Step walk-in tub. I couldn’t get the lights and things on one time and he came, took apart the front of the tub and showed me what button to mash.
I like everything about the tub. I love to see the lights when they go up and go down and turn different colors. I also like when the water would be massaging my body. I had problems with my other tub, but it's easy to get in and out of the Safe Step walk-in tub. I have arthritis and it’s been doing me some good too. My experience with Safe Step was terrible. The sales rep was smooth-talking. He didn’t tell me that they had a couple of sizes and sold a cheaper tub that they wanted to get rid of instead of what I needed. The installation team was good with what they’ve done, but for what they put in, it didn't do me any good. The tub we bought is too little. For someone who's 120 pounds, it may be good but everybody here weighs at least 260 so I’m extremely dissatisfied.
Reviewed June 25, 2016
Safe Step's price seemed pretty good. I bought their walk-in tub for my mother. It was a pretty close run between Safe Step and Premier, who I thought were the best. I know the construction part and said that we'd be better off going to Home Depot and buying from a name brand like Jacuzzi. That way we'll pay less but we'll have to put it in ourselves. However I simply didn't have time for it so I decided to go for Safe Step after all since they had great ratings.
I also called Safe Step about a problem on the lifetime warranty before we even made the deal. I did enough research on them and the ones I've read had people complaining that they get buyers who are 95 years old, on fixed dialysis. Safe Step gets their name on the warranty contract but when the buyer passes away, the kids can't even get the warranty. I told them I almost didn't buy from them because of this reason. They should instead do like Premier which puts a 15-year warranty on the tub instead of trying to paper coat the matter. The installer said he was going to talk to the company and see if they could change it.
They have a typical used car salesman who is nice, talks about a lot of stuff that he doesn't know though leading one to believe that he does. This particular guy made a big deal that Safe Step made sure that the tubs were especially available for veterans. There were a few things that I questioned the salesman about, such as whether they'll be able to get the tub in and whether there would be a problem taking the old tub out. It turned out that it was quite a big problem for the installer. It was a cast iron tub in tile, they had to cut it into pieces with the saw and beat it with a sledgehammer.
Their primary installer was a little upset that the salesman made it look like it wasn't a big deal. Nevertheless, the installers cleaned up pretty well though they did a bit of damage. They left a little cut in the floor in the linoleum and a couple of spots where they damaged the tile a bit which I can understand given what they had to go through. I honestly expected it to be worse. I told the installers, and they agreed, that they ought to tell their company to send a salesman out during the installation so they wouldn't be so cocky. The tub had a flex line that went towards the back jet and one of the upper jets. It looks like the factory didn't put enough glue or none at all, and the line simply blew out of the socket. It must have shorted out the lights that went around it because our surround lights don't work. So, I called Safe Step about for the plumbing work. I would've fixed it myself, but it's under warranty so I don't mess with it.
After waiting about a week, they finally got in touch with us and sent a couple of repairmen. They were supposed to show up last Friday but they called me Friday afternoon to say that they won't be able to make it. They finally showed up on Tuesday. They fiddled around with the tub, told my mother they don't have the right parts, then left without telling her whether they plan to come again the next day. I haven't seen or heard from the repairmen, or even an apology from Safe Step. All they do is do the runaround with me. I called multiple numbers, even the saved numbers that came in from the original installer, but when I called, I ended up getting a machine. I slapped down almost $13,000 on the bathtub. I could've spent less than that with a premium brand like Jacuzzi, put it in myself and I don't think I would have done near the damage Safe Step did. Safe Step's product is probably good but they made a boo-boo at the factory and their service is not good. They also need to really clean up their act and pay attention as to who they hire.

The price was good and Safe Step had a special offer when I bought mine. The sales rep was very nice and he kept his words. However, I’m a little disappointed because I didn’t think I was getting enough of the oxygen bubbles out. He told me when I need any information or anything, I should call this certain number, which I did. But when he called me back, he said he is in Utah on vacation. I did want some information on how I get the bubbles to come out more, that was the reason that I bought it. He said he’s gonna have some paperwork for me where I can buy the cleaning stuff. I wasn’t aware that it takes once-a-month cleaning. He did not say that. I wanted him to stop by once more and tell me where he got the crystals they put in the water to make the water soft and all those good stuff.
The people that put the tub in was very nice. They did a very good job. I told him to write down on the paperwork that I’m waiting on the instruction book because there’s a bunch of buttons there that I didn’t know. I’m not very handy with this kind of stuff so they said, “We’ll make a note of it and send it back.” I called their office and they said that they were sending one here. This one lady said, “Well, I sent it out.” I said, "I received nothing" So she said I should get another book that contains the information on what to do and which button goes with what. And of course, I wanted to get the information book and warranty booklet on it. I finally got that a couple of days ago.
The other guys that put it in didn’t give me the 101. I guess they don’t really know. They said, “Go to Bed & Bath and they have this and this.” I went there though I’m a handicapped person and I can’t walk really well. They had nothing for me to use in that spa. They said, “Well try A Hot Tub Place.” Thank goodness I knew the one not too far from them, so I stopped on the way out there. There were two nice ladies and they sold me some crystals. I read the stuff and tried it, and it worked good. And then when I talked to the sales rep, he said, “Well, go try it because I couldn’t get anything else.” And I said, “Well, I did.” You just take like a teaspoon flattened and you don’t take a lot. I figured that when people get in there, it’s not always clean. So when it’s ready, it has to be cleaned out. I tried cleaning it with towels and wipe it and all. It says, “Once a month, put in a cup of bleach and then fill it back up with water.” That’s 40 gallons of water. I would have to have my own well here.
I read through this and yesterday, I went down to the spa place again to see if they had anything easier. We had one in our old house, too. But we never had to run all that 2500 gallon of water to clean it because I only used it once and I was allergic to the ‘PF’ or whatever that you have to put in there. My husband did it. My daughter has MS and she was interested in getting one, too. I only been in it a few times, and it takes a lot of water. And it didn’t do the bubbles for me, which I expected. I do have fibromyalgia and problems on my foot, and I really could have used that.

I don’t have to worry about getting down and trying to get out of the thing. The walk-in tub's really mostly for my mom because she tried to get in our tub over a year ago and she couldn’t get out. She hasn’t taken a bath in a tub since then. And although we had a shower chair in the shower for her, she can soak in a walk-in tub and this helps in her mobility - for the feet, for the back of the legs, the lower part of the extremities and also for the lower back.
I like it as well. With the Safe Step walk-in tub, I can stoop my off the seat a little bit so I can really put my shoulder to where the jets are beating which helps. I contacted Safe Step for information and got a salesperson sent out. I am not somebody who likes a lot of unofficial sales patter. The sales rep was trying to convince my mom that in her current bathtub shower setup, she would fall through the plushy glass and so on. If I were buying it, just the annoyance factor alone would have made me said no. But my mom was more concerned about getting somebody to install the tub quickly. It was a little outside of the price range that she was looking for but the installation was the major deciding factor.
The installation team finished in one day. They did a good job and cleaned up after themselves. It's easy to get in and out of the tub. The way the door is set up gives it strength and stability but it also makes it difficult to clean the tub because when the door opens inward, you're blocking yourself from cleaning a part of the tub. So you have to get in it and then shut the door. But then once you do that, you’re standing in such a way where it’s not easy to get down to the very bottom of the tub to clean it. That part never really occurred to me when she was buying it. Other than that, I have used the tub too and it’s helped some issues with my legs and feet.

The sales rep from Safe Step Walk-in Tubs was fine but their installers were horrible. They were very unprofessional. They were completely unable to complete the job the first time they came out because they couldn’t find the water shut-off since it was buried. Then the installer said that he only had a couple of hours work left to do. He had to come back on a weekday to get it completed. It's because they had to get people from the city out to show them where the water shut-off was. The city people had to come dig it up. In the meantime, the installers tore up my yard and left a big hole in my front yard in the process of looking for the water shut-off. They never took care of that.
When the guy came back that Monday, he said he had a couple of hours work left to do. This is a work night for me and he took 10 hours to do the work. He did not leave my house until 3 o’clock in the morning. This is despite having told me that it was only going to be two hours to get the installation done. That was a major hardship for me because I was supposed to be at work the next day but I had to stay awake and wait for that guy to get out of my house. After he finally got the whole thing installed, he went to test it. He didn’t seal the door and he flooded my entire house. That did major damage to my hardwood floor since the water seeped in under the floor and caused the floor to lift.
The company wouldn’t stand behind it because they claimed it was a previous damage. Although there were some previous damages to the floor, the flood that the guy caused created additional damages. The installer did come and he did some kind of repairs, but they were in no way suitable. I wanted him out of there at that point. So the floor is all messed up and I had to put a rug down over the damage to cover it up. I will not recommend Safe Step because of the installation. But that experience aside, I really love the tub and it works like it's supposed to.

The sales rep was an awesome person. He was very thorough in explaining things to us, how the tub was going to work and the cost of it, the whole nine yards, where other companies would say, "This is what we're doing and this is the price," and that was the extent of it. He was really good. The installation team were great too. They were very respectful and I can't speak highly enough of them.

They did broke one of my tiles and I haven't replaced it yet.
I bought the tub for my wife, but it's a little hard for her. The way the door is, the knee gets in the way when we try to close the door. However, little by little she'll get used to it. The jets are nice and the lights are all right. The only thing I'm having trouble finding now are those little marbles in the tube for micro-therapy. I really like my Safe Step walk-in tub. It had a heated seat and the slip things my husband didn't hear from the other tubs. I’m a diabetic and my feet and legs hardly work. I’ve only got in it once and the next day I felt much better. Its foot massage function is my favorite. It's very easy to get in and out of it. Also, the installation team did a really good job. They cleaned up after themselves and were very polite.

Safe Step was the first one that came to us and I liked it. I was a little shocked at the price but I figured I would probably be shocked at the other prices too. The sales rep was very informative and not pushy but I didn't like that he tried to talk me into something because it kind of turned me off a little bit. The installation team did their job, didn't disrupt anything and also cleaned up after themselves. I even asked them if they wanted to take a break or something to drink but they said that they had brought their lunch. They worked continuously until they finished.
We got the the tub for my sister and it's a lot safer for her. She has no trouble getting in and out of it. She enjoys it and the heated seat is the best feature for her because she's cold most of the time. The tub uses a lot of water compared to my showers but it's worth it in the long run. The first time she used it, she said she was really tired after it and she went to sleep. But the second time, she was back to normal. The sitting and waiting for the tub to fill up is a little bit frustrating but there's no other way to do it. But she's satisfied with the tub and she doesn't complain to me. I'm also very satisfied. We showed several people the tub and we told them where we got it from.

Safe Step Walk-in tubs seem to have a good reputation for the things that I saw online. But I'm a big guy and I had a hard time buying something that neither my wife or I had actually seen in the store or been in. Luckily for my wife and me, they were installing one in another house in our town not too far away a day later. The rep then organized that we could go there and actually get into it and see that we would fit in that thing. And once we had done that, we’re ready to go ahead and buy one. The rep went a little bit out of his way to try to make that happen and he also seemed to know his product pretty well.
The installation team was also helpful. I was worried because our house is a somewhat older and our doorways were too narrow to bring this tub in. But we had a very big picture window where our old tub was and they were able to take the picture window down, bring the new tub in, and then put it back up and organized around it from the inside. It looks very nice.
What I like about our Safe Step tub to start off was that we could walk into it or my wife can walk into it rather than climb over the sides. It was smarter to have a door that opens to the inside rather than the outside. Another thing that I like about it is the jets that blow around because we both have issues with joints. We also use it like a shower right now but we had them put our own shower head on there because we had one that adjusts to different kinds of sprays.
However, I had a problem the first time I tried the tub - I filled it up and the water poured out the door. Then it took a few days for the rep to come back and try to figure out. He couldn’t adjust it to make it work. He thought maybe we had to have another door, so we ordered another and that took a week to come. Then by the time it came, my wife’s mother was dying in Colorado, so we didn’t have a chance to put it back. It’s been almost a month that we have never really been able to use the tub because of leaking doors and not seem to be able to get the door to work.
We’re hoping that if they put this new door on and it fixes the problem that I was assured when we bought it, it would never happen. The reps of Safe Step were not particularly bad and I know making another door takes time. But then again it’s always, “Well, we will be in your neighborhood next Thursday installing another one. Maybe we’ll be able to come out there after that.” It was never like, “Oh, yeah. Let’s make sure we get this one working.”
Another thing was when one day I pulled off on that shower knob and it came right off in my hand. Whether it wasn’t screwed on quite right, I don’t know but I managed to screw it back down and it seemed to work again, but I’m not overly confident at this point. So we’ve never really been able to fill it up and turn on the jets and enjoy ourselves with the tub.

My husband is disabled and cannot stand long sustained baths so we were in desperate need of a tub that could be walked in. I saw Safe Step in an ad, we checked it out and was surprised at the price. It said $1,500 off but it's not the $3,000 kind of tub we expected. The sales rep's manner was exceptional. He didn't push. The installation team was very nice and did an excellent job. We just had to clean up in the 1st floor bathroom under the bathroom where the tub was installed because some of the stuff went down into there. As per the tub, we use the jets in the back and on the legs and enjoy it although it wears my husband out too much because he had lung and breathing problems. The only problem is the grout splits about 10 inches on one place in a just a couple of days. Other than that, the tub is working great.

However, I thought that it's going to be good. The sales representative was very helpful and the installation team were excellent, did a great job and cleaned up after themselves.

The sales team helped us get a loan for it, secured and with the payments the way we wanted. My husband said that the people who came were very nice, did a very professional job and cleaned everything up. Anybody I’ve had any interactions with over the phone seemed very nice and informative. My mother likes that the tub is easy to get in and out of. I don’t like that we haven’t shut the door good a couple of times and my ceiling flooded. I've been constantly thinking about Safe Step and decided to give them a call. One rep, Mike, told me the story of how the person who invented the Safe Step walk-in tub had his grandmother in mind because she had fallen and wouldn't take a bath. I wanted a walk-in tub because I've fallen a couple of times in trying to get out of my traditional tub, and I got tired of just taking showers all the time. Another thing I was thinking about was that my mother will be 95 on July 1, and she's always wanted a bath because they used to give my grandmother a bath. I thought the walk-in tub would be nice for her. I could help her when she comes out and let her take a bath instead of just washing up all the time.
Safe Step was more informative than any other company that I have called and asked questions from. The young salesperson was very knowledgeable and gave me all kinds of information. I asked them questions about other brands and they showed me the comparison. I like things that are made here in the United States, but the other brand is not. The sales rep was very friendly. I always asked him to know who's coming and what kind of credentials I'd be looking for, and he provided all of them. His little van had a Safe Step tub in it. I got in that little van he was driving and in the inside, he showed me what the tub would actually look like. He took his time for the measurements as well as answering all the questions that I had. He explained everything right down to a tee.
The installers were helpful and kind of comical because one was doing the installation and the other one had to go and check on the electricity and the water. So, when water was coming in, one tech was howling to the other one, "Carl, turn the water off," and apparently Carl couldn't hear him because my garage is a little ways away, and so it was like we were doing a relay. It was funny. Then they walked me through everything. They were really nice. Later on, another fellow came in, introduced himself, and checked to see if the work was completed.
I've started recommending Safe Step to friends. I sit in the tub for so long in winter time and take a little nap. I am totally relaxed when I've finished bathing and I sleep so much better. I like the micro jets because they are comfortable and I can feel my skin is much softer when I finish taking a bath.

The salesman from Safe Step who came here was great. He showed me the specs from every other company so I didn’t need to go shopping. The installation was perfect too. The installers set up tubs all over the Rocky Mountain region. They were very knowledgeable and very professional. One of them went downstairs to look at the water heater in the basement so that he knew how many gallons it was and how many gallons it took to fill the tub. They were in and out of here in less than six hours. They were great about cleaning up too.
I used the walk-in tub for the first time two nights ago. The reason for that is because I had to re-tile my great big tub and I didn’t want to use it for fear it might leak. I enjoy the lumbar jet feature of my walk-in tub the most but I'm not able to fully utilize the other jets untiI I figure out how to get the water level above the top jet. When I got the Safe Step walk-in tub, I was assured that my water heater capacity would be sufficient for it. I would not have that problem, but I did. I timed it, filled it and before it was full enough for me to turn on the lumbar jets, I had to shut the water off because it got cold. It was annoying. Other than that, it’s been a good experience and I would definitely recommend Safe Step Walk-in Tubs.

My wife really wanted a Safe Step walk-in tub. She's got physical problems and probably needs therapy. She said that it would be nice if she did not have to go out of the house. If the tub was therapeutic and good for her health, she would be able to use it at home, at her leisure. I thought the tub would probably be good too because it's got the jets that are soothing and I understand that it can clean your skin from the pores. We also felt that the tub was a good thing for us since the tub would complete our bathroom. It was rather costly however since my wife not only had the bath tub installed, she also had the people complete a closed closet. The Safe Step installers did a really good job on it though. Nevertheless, I don't think my wife could have gotten anything different than what she bargained for since the gentleman did the best he could.
My wife used the tub once and was happy with it. I think she's gonna have to use more to know if it's gonna work out, but we moved out of that house so we haven't used the tub again. There was a lady that looked at our tub and she liked the installation and the bath tub itself but didn't know it was that pricey. Still, I would recommend Safe Step to a friend because their representatives were honest, professional, kept in touch with me, and bent over backwards to try to accommodate us.

They were very nice kids and they can take jokes which was okay with me because sometimes they would say something and I would bat them right back so we got along fine.
I like the shower part of the tub and that I can sit and take a shower. If I don’t want to fill the whole tub up and get water in it, I can take my shower and do it quick and get out. I have no trouble getting in and out of it. The only thing I didn’t like about it is the perfume thing that goes in. I have allergies and I can’t have that. I called three or four bathtub companies already and when I called Safe Step, they said it would be a week or two before they could get to me. But I told them I needed it ASAP because my wife had a broken hip. They called around, changed their schedule and said, "We can be there and show you what we got tomorrow and see if we can get it done in a couple of days." They showed up the next day like they said and had a van that had a tub in the back of it. They took me out, showed and explained it all to me and I took it. It was an easy sell. I think it was way too much money but I'm not going to argue that point, I didn't have to sign a contract if I didn't want to pay it.
The people that installed it were even better than the salesmen. They came out, measured the bathroom where I want it in and got the tub in there but they couldn't get it turned around to install it. They took it back to the warehouse, got another one and came back and installed it in a different bathroom for me. They took the door out facing the hall leading into the bathroom, took two walls down in the bathroom and installed it. I thought it would take them a day or two but they did it in about four and a half hours. They were top notch and real nice gentlemen.
They also went out of their way to be courteous and kind. They even cleaned up after themselves and it was a good experience to have that particular crew to come and put everything in for me. I've told people that's asked me about them what I thought about them. I don't know if they ever get any business out of it but at least I recommended them to other people.
Everything looked fine and the tub works perfectly. I like that I can just sit there and relax. I also like the lights coming on and off, which doesn't have anything to do with how it operates, and those jets at the bottom with those microscopic bubbles coming in. It does a good job massaging my feet. There are bath beads in ours too, I don't know how to work them yet but I know they're there. Also, it's easier to get inside and outside of the tub on a smaller person and I'm a little on the fat side. But I know if I scoot up in one of the corners of the tub and I can open and close it all right, it's not that big of an inconvenience.

I was also really impressed how the installers tried to keep everything as clean as they can from the time they set foot in the house. They tore the old tub out and put in the new one, and they cleaned up afterwards. We couldn't even tell the old tub had been here.
The installer had to come back and level the tub because it wasn't level and we couldn't keep the door open on it. I was afraid the pressure might do damage to the seal on the door. But everything's working good on it. We're really liking our walk-in tub. I read an article in a magazine about Safe Step. I gave it to my wife and let her read it and see what she thought about it. She said, “Can we have a guy come over and take a look at it?” I said, “Yeah, we can do that.” And it's surprising because we were looking at the Standard tubs. Kevin came over and explained it to us. We’ve seen the video and everything else. I liked the idea of the cut out door where we sit down and close the door. I also liked the way the maintenance program was. Once you buy it, you don't pay maintenance, they’ll take care of it. For the Standard club, we had to pay for every different little thing. It says full maintenance but we get to research it a little bit, “Oh, no. We don’t pay for that.” So when Kevin showed up, I already made up my mind we wouldn’t have bought at Standard, so we had to find something else.
Kevin was very knowledgeable of his product. Every question I asked, he had answers for it. Not only that, he had demonstration to back it up. He knew what he did. He didn’t over pushed it, he just explained it. We looked at it, looked at some of the brochures and stuff he gave us. And the questions I asked, I was satisfied with. When the tub was put in, I come home, and it was all there looking very beautiful and nice. My wife couldn’t wait to get in until the next day because we’re supposed to wait 24 hours before we get in there. She already had her towels and everything up there. She’s got arthritis really bad and the tub helps her out especially with the bubbles inside. She said she feels like a new person. And my old grandma who had a stroke said she can’t wait to get back here.
My grandma likes the lights and the jets. My wife likes everything. She likes the really fine bubbles and everything that come out. She’s doing a good job on all that and she’s well satisfied. As a matter of fact, it was yesterday when I came home she said, “Buddy, I really love that tub.” I said, “Well, good. At least I did something right.” My wife was really particular about what's good and what’s bad so her judgment and her comments were nothing but excellent.

My husband just died. I live by myself and my doctor didn't like me getting in the shower by myself because I have real bad vertigo and I fall down a lot. I've probably had 30 bad falls. I got three leaflets about safe tubs which I read and decided I liked Safe Step the best, so I called right away. However, on the paper, it said there was a $1500 discount but they never mentioned that to me and I got another one yesterday and they're still giving the $1,500 discount. I paid cash and ended up paying $10,000 plus for my Safe Step and then had to pay $2,789 for the 75-gallon tub. The man who sold the tub to me said he thought the 40-gallon would be okay, but it wasn't. He also sold me the very best one they had and the installers that came here said I could have done with a much smaller one because I'm not that big. It was expensive and that washed me out. But the tub is wonderful and looks good.
I love my Safe Step, but they didn't give me very good instructions about what all the buttons are for. They gave me such a quick summary because they didn't finish till midnight. I was going to bed then and the next day, I couldn't remember what they told me. I don't know which button to hit for making the jets work and I'm afraid to hit the wrong one even when I've read the directions over and over. When I tried to call, I kept getting a recording and I asked them to call me back, but they didn't. One day somebody did, but it took a while and I almost had to beg them to call me back.
But I’ve taken three baths and I love it when the colors come on. I got flyers on two other kinds of tubs and I read about them and they don’t have what I got. Another thing about me is I can't sit down and get up because my knees don't bend, and I noticed my knees are all better. I've let my daughter use the tub the other night because she was tired and she loved it too. My neighbors are all asking if they could come over and take a bath. I’m happy with my tub except I wish they would've given me a set of directions. I got a folder but it just tells me what they’re for and it isn’t as explicit as it should be.
I would definitely recommend Safe Step. In fact, my son says he’s going to get the same one that I have. My son is on his third time of his cancer recurring and his chemo makes him deathly sick and hurt all over. I’m going to try to get him in the tub and I think it’ll make him feel better.

I was impressed when I saw the Safe Step walk-in tub. The sales representative and I talked for about three or four hours and I felt like we were good friends after he left. The installers did their job and were very impressive. I'm very much satisfied with the installation. I like the jets of the bath and the heated seats.

We already have a shower, a large tub and a regular tub, but a friend mentioned Safe Step, so we decided to try it. Their sales rep was very nice. However, we’ve been busy so we haven’t had the chance to use it. But I’m looking forward to getting in there and taking a nice, warm shower.

I decided that Safe Step was the one I wanted. Getting in and out of it is very easy and I like the massaging jets. The representative was nice and proper and the installation team was excellent too.
