It was a matter of necessity to get the walk-in tub from Safe Step because I couldn't get in and out of my old tub and shower and my husband is on a wheelchair. With Safe Step, just to be able to walk into the tub and sit down is a new thing for me. The installation team was very good. But Safe Step didn't tell us that we would need a new hot water tank, so we ended up not getting enough hot water in our tub.

I got Safe Step for my wife before she passed away and it was good for her. It's one of the greatest things that came out, especially for seniors and people who are disabled. I like the tub's design, and it's got very good features. I like how you can step into it with all the jet flows that operate it with the [E-Z] - that's amazing. And how the water changes to different colors, and which ones are good for your legs and your back. It's got to be the top. I'd recommend it to anybody. People who've been over here and liked it. If they decide they were to get one, this is what they want. In addition, the team that came to do the installation was professional. They came out here, worked right on it, and got it perfect.

I had a fine discussion with Safe Step's sales representative, and he was successful at selling me the tub. I went for Safe Step over other companies because of the warranty, the micro bubble system, and the fact that it's a medical device. The only problem was they didn't really address my water heater capacity. It uses more water than my water heater can provide. I didn't really find out until after it was installed that I needed more of a water heater. Also, I was concerned that the electrical wasn't re-done because the salesman said that they were going to install a higher amperage wire for the tub itself, and they used the one that was existing. It's only 12-gauge and I was concerned about that, but everybody seemed to think that was okay, so I let it slide. Finally, my wife thinks the installation team scratched her countertops but I have no way to prove that. But other than that, they were fine.

Safe Step is the greatest thing ever invented for me because I could relax with it. I can’t fill the tub all the way that I like it because my water heater is not that big. I start with the hot water and when that starts going cool, I turn it off. It only gets to about where I’m sitting on the chair and that's all the water I have. So I do all the sprinkling and spraying while the water is running. When it gets too cold, I had to do the same thing before I got the tub or let it run a little until the temperature is right then I would lay there in an hour or two and read until it gets cold. The shower spa is great because when I want to rinse it off or rinse the hair, it's perfect.
The installation team were right at it. I was surprised they got through so soon. They were very careful, good and polite. They’re going to finish the bathroom. They’re tiling it all around and it’s going to be beautiful. They explained everything before they left but I have to read the directions again for the buttons (I don't understand all the buttons but I'm getting there).
But the first time I used it, it’s wrinkled everything and I had a wood floor laminated. I don’t want to get that wet and it's like two hours drying the walls. Then, I called Mike and asked him about it. He said, “The little buttons in the back – push them down and you won’t get that sprinkling at the top.” I saw it and it worked. Then I put bubble bath in there and it made so many bubbles I couldn’t see the change in the water. It’s supposed to change water. I also couldn’t see the water for the bath with the bubbles so I put a little capful and that made it perfect. It was really nice. It's got a good feeling too, the one you get in a sauna. The crystals make the skin really smooth and they dissolve in the water. It’s worked perfectly and I love it. It was wonderful and I really enjoy my bath time because it’s the one thing I take my time with – just relax, take it easy.

Safe Step walk-in tubs are manufactured here in the United States so I don’t have to worry about the parts, and the tub has a lifetime warranty on it so we chose to buy from them. We didn’t have problems with the installation team. They came in, they installed and demonstrated the tub, and it works perfectly. We like all the features of our new tub, and we’re very satisfied with it.

I’ve seen Safe Step on TV, but it was at a medical supply place where I took their pamphlet off the wall. I looked them up on the internet and then I called. Their sales representative was very courteous and very good. The installation team, however, had a little difficulty because I live in a high-rise condominium, and it was the first time they had to put something on a high-rise. So they ran at the submissions about lights, plumbers, and licensed people. But it all worked out. The contractors were friendly and knowledgeable. They demonstrated how the product worked and they did a very good job. I like to sit in the tub, relax and feel the jets on my back and on my legs.

We got the Safe Step tub for our mother and we had it put in after she has been in the hospital for a week. They put the tub in like they were supposed to but there are some things wrong with it that make it unusable for our mother to use on her own right now. It was very difficult for her to get in and out because of the door, and then her handicap situation. It’s supposed to be “No-Strength” but even I can barely get the door to open so it’s really impossible for her to even get it open without an aid. The door is so difficult to open so we need to have that worked on but we have not had time to reach out to anyone at Safe Step.

I like everything about my SafeStep except it takes too long for me to get in out of. It also uses a lot of hot water and I don't understand that - it's supposed to be like a tub and the hot water should last. But if I get in it, nobody else can take a bath. It is, however, fine for when we age - that's the reason why I put it in. It's excellent as far as helping with my fibromyalgia too. I also like the jet features as they help my legs. Additionally, their installers were great and they're overall very good.

My father came to live with us and we had a garden tub and he couldn't get in and out of it very well. This was a permanent move so we decided that it would be best if we could look into some tubs and see what would be best for him as he's having problems with his legs and he can't walk well. We were surprised at the price but sales rep kept giving us some special offers that seem liken. And we thought that for the duration of my father's life, it would be worth investing this kind of money even though we thought it was really expensive. We've been very satisfied nonetheless. The installation team was pleasant. They were very professional, kind, and considerate. We didn't have any problems with them. The whole thing was a good experience and I'd recommend them to a friend.

The Safe Step salesman that I talked to seemed to be very good and I like him. The equipment seemed to be very good and I'm very happy. The installation guys were good people, too, and they knew what they were doing. Now that I have the tub, I like that I have the ability to get in it by using its door, unlike with my Jacuzzi tub which I couldn't get into. Overall, I had a very satisfactory experience with Safe Step.

I love the tub from Safe Step, I like it better every time I walk in my bathroom. Their installation team was wonderful. They were done in 4 or 5 hours, and it looks beautiful. There's one thing, though, when I wash my back with the shower, the water flies all over the place. You have to be very careful and just barely turn it on. But, I'd recommend it to anybody.

We bought the Safe Step tub for my husband, who just turned 88 and has COPD. The installation team did a very professional job, explained everything and cleaned up after themselves. I like the hand-held shower and head. However, my husband is just so slight in frame, and it takes so long to get the water in there. One thing we did find out is we have a 50-gallon hot water tank, and it takes about 60 gallons to load the tub. That's a bit of a snag, it takes so long for the water to go in and out of the tub.
Also, I was trying to consume some of the water space so the water would fill faster. I filled plastic gallon jugs with water to help fill in the space, but they just float. If anybody at Safe Step has a solution, then I would be willing to try it. But other than that, the Safe Step tub has some wonderful perks and my husband has enjoyed it several times. Overall, I recommend the Safe Step tub. They're a little more expensive than those shipped in from China or wherever through Depot or Lowe's, but we like the fact that it's all made in the US of A.

I liked Safe Step's sales approach and pricing. The salesman was good all the way through. But their installation team, though they did a good job, did some damage on the wall and the floor. We have a concrete tile and they've damaged it, then they gouged something on the base board of the wall. I've called back and reported that but I haven't seen or have heard anybody come in to try to take care of it. It's not a big deal but I am in the service business myself and I know customers like a complete follow-up on any problems in a complete job and I need that taken care of. But apart from that, we like the product itself and enjoy all of its features. It's got all the whistles and bells and it's very enjoyable.

I had a claw foot tub and couldn't get in it. I have arthritis so being able to get into the Safe Step tub is the main thing I like. I also have the cushion but the first time I used it, the suction cup came off. The fourth time, the other suction came off. Mike, the guy that sold it to me several weeks ago, said he would replace it but I haven't seen it yet. Then on the top of the shelf, the putty, which was nice and smooth, started rolling and coming out. I informed Mike about it but haven't heard back from him yet.
I've heard of horror stories of people that don't follow up but after paying $15,000, I'm hoping this isn't one of the companies that does that. Mike seems to be a really nice guy and one time we had to reschedule twice. Then one of the times we rescheduled, he didn't get around to put up the sign telling people that the water would be shut off. That was not good because I was concerned that the people in my building didn't know about it.

My husband discovered Safe Step and he liked the features the tubs had. Although I wasn’t here on the day the installation was made, I’m satisfied with the result of their work. My favorite features are the aromatherapy and the lights. However, I’ve only used the tub once, and I haven’t had time to properly sit in it. I’ve been really busy, so it’s been shower-and-go. But I would recommend it. In fact, we already have done so. A cleaning lady fell in love with it and she wants to get one.

My mother-in-law has a tub, but they bought it years ago from Premier. We wanted information on it because sometimes my legs get weak or numb out, and I have an issue getting out of a regular tub. We called for information with Safe Step and my husband ordered the tub. It does more than what my mother-in-law's tub does, with the massaging jets, bidet, and the lights. It sets an ambiance where I can relax because my muscles get real tight and cause me pain. It massages and eases my back and stimulates my bones and blood circulation in my legs, which I have major trouble with.
It has really been a relaxing tub for me to have. I had been enjoying it immensely. I'd definitely recommend the tub for what it has done for me. I don't have to pay a doctor. It's a miracle worker. I would suggest Safe Step for any medical patients. I suggested it to my stepfather because my mother has Alzheimer's and dementia, and she's not able to wash herself. It would be better for her even if she doesn't remember how to bathe because it would clean her if they put her in there. It's what I thought when I started experiencing my tub. The only drawback is we need a larger water tank because once I fill the tub, then there's no more hot water for anyone else. So I had to wait until everybody leaves or else I'll take my bath late at night in order for there to be hot water for the rest of my family members. But the tub is wonderful.

So far, we have enjoyed Safe Step. We've got to get a new water heater because ours is not big enough. I haven't used it as much as my husband has. The one time I got in it was fabulous. I could tell the difference in my legs. My legs, from the knees down, don't have much feeling in them because I've got both herniated disc soft tissue, hard tissue degenerative bone disease, solid bone back. It really helped my legs when I got in but it's not too fun to take a bath. I tried to take a bath and it's not real warm water. But my husband has been sitting down taking a shower so he likes it. We're waiting on the hot water heater and got one ordered from the gas company, as they had told us ours wasn't enough.
I like the tub's micro bubbles. The jets help my back and legs tremendously because they go right out there on my back. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I got one of those plastic tubs with the ropes on the side. We put the tub in front of the door and I use the handle shower and it's got a button that will get it on and off. I could wet my hair real good and cut the water off and it's left hanging up there. I put the shampoo on, take the shower thing, turn it on, rinse good and lay it right back over the edge of the tub and it was fantastic. That was the best I had been able to wash my hair. I was very pleased. The fact that I can turn it on and off is tremendous.

My brother got the tub from Safe Step and I also got one. My favorite feature of the tub is the pulsings. I like the hydrotherapy with the micro bubbles. And I also like the light therapy, I turn my lights off in the bathroom and just go into a zone, just thoroughly relaxed. John, the salesperson from Safe Step, was great. He made me feel quite comfortable with the installation. When the installation team came, they explained everything thoroughly. They ran over all of the features and considerations, like the hot water heater and they also gave a demonstration on how to use the features on the tub itself. I was looking online at walk-in tubs due to my health conditions and asked to have information and a DVD sent to me and in a few minutes received a call from a man wanting to set up an appointment to explain the benefits of their program. The product seemed like a great investment but due to looking to filing for disability and having to quit my job and having a family to provide for I was hesitant to jump at the purchase. The salesman became very rude saying "You knew you were facing disability, why did you have me come here? You need to get your ducks in a row."
He began asking if my home and car was paid for and other personal questions. He wouldn't take no for an answer. He asked if we could afford to pay $185.00 a month but never said for how long, he said 10 years. The price was $20,000 but after discounts the price dropped to $14,000, how can there be that much of a markup? I called the company and complained, I was told I would receive an email with a lower price but it must be where the DVD is. Stay away from Safe Step Walk-In Tubs.

The people from Safe Step were great. I like the tub and it works fine for me because I have a bad knee. However, I thought that the entrance was going to be a little bit wider. That's the only thing I didn't like about it. I asked the guy who came if their tubs are custom-made for the size of the person. And he said something like, “Well, we have, I think, four sizes or something.” I got the tub for my husband. He’s not a great, big guy but he is 186 or 196 lbs. and he has scoliosis. That means he has a problem sitting up straight. I seem to feel that when I try to put him in it, it’s close for him. He also has had a stroke and he’s weak on one side so it’s hard getting him into anything. He encouraged me to refer sales to him, which I had tried doing but most of my friends can’t afford it. The sales representative at Safe Step showed us a video that's quite impressive. But the final product is not what we've expected and there's no showroom that we could go to actually see one. I'm not totally happy with the price we paid. When you buy a vehicle you want to test drive it. But there was no way to test drive a tub and the price is that of a used vehicle. Nevertheless, it might have been a bad decision on my part and I'm a little disappointed in myself for going through with something that's so expensive and not be able to actually try it out firsthand before we bought it.
I do understand that it's more of a medical device or apparatus that we use. The safety features are there and there are only a little tweaks and twerks about it that I wished I had rethought it a little longer. The tub is not quite long enough. They don't give you enough options there. It was the only one-size-fits-all type thing. So it could've been a few inches longer. The location of the jets for your feet should have been closer together because, when you're taking a bath, you don't always spread your feet apart.
If I were paying so much money, they should give more options and more custom fit or custom design because everybody's different. Nobody is the same length, height, and weight. That's going to work for me in the next eight years that I'm paying for it, so I'm trying to convince myself to be happy with what I've got. I bought it more for my wife. She fell out of the tub a time or two. Overall, at least she'll be safer in the time that we use it.

I have a pretty new home, and had a really nice shower where the Safe Tub went into. When the salesman came in my home, he told me that they would take the shower out and put the tub wherever I wanted. The shower was put in after the bathroom was in so I knew it would fit through the door. But when the installation came, all of a sudden, I see them carrying out my shower in pieces. They took it all apart instead of taking it out in one piece. I was going to put it down in my basement.
And when I walked in, my Tongue-and-Groove flooring was pulled apart right where the Safe Tub was going to be. Instead of them putting the flooring back together again, they put the tub in. So I told the installers that that piece of wood should be together. They tried to do it after the tub was in by reaching in and trying to put a screw and pulling it together. They were able to pull it together a little bit but it's still a quarter of an inch apart. I had to cover it up with a rug, but they should have done that better.
Also, they took off the baseboard and said it’s hard to get it back right. They didn’t have it right next to the wall. It’s a brand new home so it was at the wall before they took that baseboard off. They caulked the space between the wall and the baseboard instead of getting it back to where it was. They caulked it all the way along that wall and behind the toilet, and they left six inches that they didn’t caulk. It shouldn't been caulked in the first place because the walls are straight. I’m very dissatisfied with the construction.

Safe Step Walk-in Tub is the best thing I ever bought. I love it and I know it's the only one made in the USA and that makes a big difference. Everybody that I’ve shown it to, they have loved it. I'm disabled and I got a shower that’s got a seat, but there's nothing to hold on to. It was getting really, really tough for me because I had a garden tub but I couldn't get in it because I've got nerve damage. The nerve damage has affected my legs and hands and everything so when I saw Safe Step Walk-in tub advertised on TV I go, "That's what I need right there."
I called, made them come out, spent three hours here, and I figured, "Oh man, this tub’s gonna cost a fortune." But it wound up it was cheaper than everybody else and a better guarantee. Everybody else was only guaranteeing their tubs for a year but this one’s guaranteed for life. Since installation, the jets really help a lot in massaging me and I feel better because I've got back problems and my legs. There’s nothing wrong with this tub and if anybody wants to call me and ask me about the tub, I'd be more than happy to talk to them.

I'm very dissatisfied with Safe Step Walk-in Tubs. Though the sales representative who came to the house was very nice, and the guys who installed the tub were great. I got to use the tub twice and each time we had a total flood that even one time went so far as into the basement. When I turn on the jets and lean back against them, the water goes out over my shoulders onto the back of the tub and then goes into the floor. That's a problem I'd like to know how to rectify.
They need to go into more specific ways that the water is not going to come out over the tub and the shower curtain. We had to cut a shower curtain. When they called, they said, it would have to have a 48-inch shower curtain, but there is no such thing. I tried my best to get a hold of somebody and I haven't reached anybody yet. I'd love to talk to the salesman that came and talked to us about getting it and putting it, but I can’t get them to answer the phone. I get a recording.

We liked what the salesperson had to say about Safe Step but we felt we were a little mislead by him because he was telling us about when we could start making payments. They would send us the payment booklet. It was an old fashioned concept but we thought it was neat that they still did that. There are companies out there that still did that and that we could go ahead and pay because he gets the settlement each year. So we were going to pay a whole year with that settlement, one month at a time filling out the payments for each month and sending it in that way.
We received our first statement this week and they don't do that, and I can't pay ahead on it. We're going to have to take the time and trouble to open a separate statement account and put the settlement money into that. And then take out of that every month to pay them which is a little of an inconvenience for us but not majorly. It deals with consumers more than the feature, that he should explain that to them. That he should know how it works on the financing side. And if he doesn't know or not sure, he'd have to contact the finance company. And for that, they do something that they don't.
The installation team went above and beyond with trying to preserve our existing enclosure which was a large shower. So we could either sell it or keep it if we ever moved. If we wanted to take the tub with us, they can put it back in there. That was pretty good. I like the aromatherapy and that's nice. Although it is a little struggle trying to find the right kind of one because most of them, they would dissolve in the bath and I know that it has oils in it that can mess up the tub so we can't get that kind but I think we found them now. That way we have some options for some different scents other than the one that come with it. I use the shower feature most often which is nice to have that as well as the tub feature. I've only used the tub feature once or twice and I like it. It improves my husband's condition. He's been in a significant amount of leg pain after being in the tub than before we got it.

He told us about the installation and followed up all the way through. The installation team was right on time. Taking the old tub out and the installation, with rerouting the plumbing took an hour and a half. We're also happy with the electrician. I love that the tub provides safety for my brother who had a stroke a couple of months ago. It was tough for him to get in and out of the old tub in order to take a shower. My Safe Step tub very well done and everything was nice, except that the amount of water was not good. We used it just once, but I'm going to set it up and we'd use it. I like it because I could lay down on the tub and relax. It's a different thing altogether and it will be fun. However, the man who offered the tub didn't explain how much water we need to have. After he fixed it, he did it, and now we can't use it because the one we have is for 40. The hot water tank is not good enough. We can't use it with so much water. I'm going to get some cement blocks and put them in there so it uses less water. That way, I can use my 300 tank. They told me I should get 400 at least. If I were designing it, I would make it hold a lot less water (less a foot down in the bottom). There's a lot of wasted water and water is expensive now.

Safe Step Walk-in Tubs is great. Everyone was great. Their sales rep was very good - a very pleasant gentleman. The installation team was very good too. My mother has Alzheimer's and she's not doing very well, so it's a blessing to have it. It has the lowest step so that she can be able to step in. My mom is 82 and she can't even begin to walk in by herself. She needs assistance just getting in. The handles, everything is just so much safer. We worry about her falling all the time. If she falls and breaks her hip, that's the end of it. I feel safer in her getting in and out of it. It's so easy to step into. It is very expensive but worth every penny. We look at the price of safety, and if she were to break a hip, the cost is nothing. The only thing I didn't consider was it takes 30 minutes to fill up. But other than that, it's great.
Prior to having the tub, I'd have to walk her all the way across the house into our showers. She cannot bathe herself so I had to take my shower doors off the shower, walk her all the way across, and she has to just stand and hold on to a walker. In the shower, it's very difficult to bathe her in that mesh. My wife is a little short so it's hard for her to reach across the top of the shower because it is fairly tall. But with Safe Step we just put it in her bath in the tub. It's now just three steps right from her bathroom (we got a split planned house: our bedroom’s on one side of the house, and her bedroom’s on the opposite side) so if she has a mishap, it makes it so easy to clean her up.

I love my Safe Step and everything about it. My favorite feature is the jets. I'm disabled and also have autoimmune disease, and along with those I have arthritis and when I get in that tub at night, it's like the old Calgon commercial: take me away. "It's my jet water. Please take me away." It is absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend and will continue to recommend that to anyone who is suffering with arthritis and joint pain.
My husband has degenerative disc in his back. He was aching when he got in the tub. He put on the jets, sat there, and when he came out, he got in the bed and slept like a baby all night long. He normally tosses and turns but went sound asleep, I thought he was dead next to me. We absolutely loved it and the gentlemen who installed it were fantastic.
I just have one small concern where they had to build the ledge because I had a kidney tub in my bathroom and they had to dismantle that. Where they join the tub and the platform that they built, the patty didn't really seat properly. I don't know if my husband can do something, but he really doesn't have the use of his hands like he used to. But it would be greatly appreciated that if ever they're in the neighborhood, if they could come by and put a little adhesive gel on the portion of that tub.

My mother likes the walk-in tub we got from Safe Step. We liked the design of the door opening where we didn’t have to stand on our head to close the door. Also, the installers did a good job. They were two nice men that came out, and left it professionally done. However, I am not satisfied.
We don’t like how long it takes to fill up. The water does exit quickly, but filling it up takes a long time. And we have the water on full blast. Then my mother was looking forward to was the aromatherapy and that’s what doesn’t work. They said, “Oh, if you leave this on for a while, the aromatherapy will be great.” They were ready to leave so we didn’t leave it on. And that’s where the problem is. Now we’ve said, “We need some more aroma beads.” They told us that you could go at any place to buy these beads so I went to several Bed Bath & Beyond, Bath & Body Works, Walmart.
Well, I went on a wild goose chase and that really made me mad. When they actually sent some beads that you could order, they were totally different than the beads that they gave us. Also the beads that they originally gave us had no aroma at all. At that time when they gave it to us, I told them I couldn’t smell anything. They said, “But once you put it in there and the air passes through, you’ll smell it. I didn’t believe it then, and it most certainly did not work. When we got our new beads, that still did not work. They were lavender and we should be able to smell that aroma. We left it going for a long time and there was no aroma coming out of it. It would've been my favorite feature, together with the microbubbles. Those are very good and my mother really likes those on her legs. She said that she feels as though she can tell a difference in her eczema. It seems to be better for her.
Also, we’ve called them a couple of times because something’s not working. The salesman says that they’ll get the guy to call us and come over. And we’ve never gotten a call. We’ve been doing a lot of chasing around and we’re really not happy about that aspect of it, ‘cause when somebody says they’re gonna call you back, I don’t want to have to work at this. I’ve had to get on the phone and then when I’ve had to call the salesman he says that he’s called in to the home office. And I talked to the home office after and they said they haven’t heard from him. The run around is ridiculous. I’m upset about that.

So far, it's been good. I feel nice and clean when I come out of the tub so I'm pleased. Unfortunately, I've got too many things against me so I haven't noticed any changes in my day to day life. When I do the tub, it takes a long time to fill and to empty, so I'm taking up reading now. The only thing I can’t figure out is how to do the shower. When I pick up the handle, it slips down. Another thing I don’t understand is when we go out into the garage. They put a box out there, a safety box to get electricity in the house to the tub. It beeps every now and then. I don’t understand what that is. I haven’t had a chance to call, though I was going to. What happened was I wasn’t there when the installers finished. My neighbor was here because I had a doctor’s appointment. So they demonstrated the tub to her and I didn’t get the answer to some of the questions that I wanted to ask.
Some days too, I don’t want to take the tub, I just want to sit in there and enjoy a shower. I’m washing my hair now without using the spray. I’m leaning over and washing it from the faucet. So I still wash my hair in the tub. But I’d like to be able to go in there and if I wanted to and wash off my feet for the day without filling the whole thing up, just use the little bit of water. I got to still figure it out but I am happy with it. I have a problem with those, but outside of those, it’s okay. The tub's good for me and I'm very happy with it. I'd recommend Safe Step. It’s a good investment. When I figure out these little things that I have questions about, then I’ll be completely happy.

I first heard about Safe Step Walk-In Tubs on television. I enjoyed the presentation and I decided to do a little research. I was interested in another therapy spa but I decided to go with Safe Step. The installation team came out on Friday and he brought a helper. He wrestled the tub in by himself. It did leave a scratch on my tub and he was a little easy to fluster and he damaged a piece of tile on my floor. He has a tendency to curse and carry on a little bit too much, especially for my neighbors. He was asked to move the truck late at night and he seemed a little upset about that. But his carpentry was excellent. It was right on the money. Everything about the tub is our favorite. Since the tub has been installed, I'm not seeing my doctor anymore.

It's a big difference now because I can walk into my bathroom because I don’t have a big old tub in there. It made it a little bit roomier. I can walk my husband in, sit him and shower him because he can’t do a lot of standing. I love the shower. I have two daughters who live with me and they love it too. As others, we were misinformed about the water heater being able to fill enough to use the tub. Okay if you like cold water or heating water on the stove by the bucketful. The is possibly one of the most costly mistakes we have made in our 54 years of marriage. On my husband's first try, after 15 minutes of filling slowly, while I was going for heated stove water he started pushing buttons (I can't leave him alone) then he decided to get out. I got back just in time to stop him from opening the door but still had water everywhere from all the jets that still weren't covered with water so blew water everywhere. Now this safe tub has a ladder beside it so we can fill it over a 45 minute reheat and I help him climb into his wonderful new tub!!! Rather defeats the purpose... doesn't it? I won't post a picture of him climbing his ladder into his tub.
Most of the buttons are placed in bad places for getting in and out without pushing them. Then the expensive shower curtain doesn't keep the water from hitting the sides, front and back wall and since the tub is tilted forward lots of water runs around the surround and hits the floor. Very poor design on the surround. Because of tilt the door will not stay open as recommended to save the door sealers while not in use.

The sales representative was the owner. I sent them a card requesting the latest information from them. I didn't hear back from them for awhile as they had the wrong zip code on my card so I called them one day. The owner happened to be in the area and said he was going to make sure to stop and see what my interest was. We had quite a chat and he went through the cost thoroughly. I had gotten a quote from another company but I liked talking with this fellow better. I had a good experience with him because only in a matter of days, he was back with me.
I have too many birthdays to sit in a regular tub so I really enjoy this. I didn't need all of the bells, whistles and the little therapeutic nozzles. I just want to bathe. So he said "We can do just exactly what you want." I was treated very nice and had phone calls and mail from them. They were very much up to date in staying onboard with me. He said they could do it in less than a day but it took them at least about six hours at the most and they left everything spotless - no dust and dirt laying around. I researched five companies and I talked to three other salespersons, and I decided that I liked what I was hearing from Safe Step better and I saw the demonstration they brought into the house. The one who did the demonstration was very good in all aspects. However, I live in a double wide manufactured home and our hot water heating is only 30 gallons. He said, "that may not be enough." In actuality, he knew that wasn't enough because the tub takes 50 gallons.
When the installers came they told me, "you can try it this way." And I said, "I don't just want to try it. If there's something wrong that needs to be added, tell me now." They said, "you may want to add another type of hot water heating tank or tankless water or something like that." In any case, they didn't say that you absolutely must and I was still hoping for the best.
Even when they were giving me answers that alluded to the fact that the water heater system might be alright, I have to put a bigger tank in. We got a tub and everybody that I talked to at Safe Step were all really good. That includes the installation team who was very thorough going through all the controls, etc. The only minor thing was one of the color of the buttons for the microbubbles was swapped.
I'm 16 years older than my wife, I'm 73, she's only 56. I'm a normal 73-year old. I've had a couple of mild heart-attacks but they run in my family and we're all long-lived. Other than that, I'm fine. I can still hit a golf ball really far. I'm coordinated and I can still help my wife move around a lot. For me, it's very relaxing in the tub. The jets are more important than the microbubbles which my wife loves. As for her, both the microbubbles and the jets are very therapeutic. She has considerable arthritis, too. We use the tub alternately. I try to get her to use it at least three times a week, and I use the showers three times a week.
I've bragged about Safe Step to everybody. We live in 55 plus community and every one of our friends have seen it, and everybody wows when they see it. I already told my brother who is 14 months younger than I am about it and he really needs one. He still rode cutting horses and injured his back really bad. The one thing that I would recommend to anybody getting Safe Step is to make sure they have at least a 50-gallon water tank. I previously had a large oversized tub in my master bathroom because my dermatologist told me I had to start taking bleach baths three times a week for about 30 minutes at a time. It was about 26 inches deep and I had to get up about 30 inches to get into it - I couldn’t do it, and thought that a walk-in tub would work. One of my neighbors had just installed a walk-in tub and they were very pleased with it. So I started looking into companies that install walk-in tubs, and saw Safe Step's tub in one of the ads in the paper. I called them, sent an email, and their rep came out and went through the whole rigmarole. He’s very pleasant and after I evaluated the tub, my wife and I decided to buy it. The tub was about $1,000 less than Safe Step’s competitors, and had some features I liked that the other companies didn’t have.
I like the dual jets from the front and back, and the soft jet from the bottom which oxidizes the water. I fill the tub up and when it gets up over the jets for the little bubbles down the bottom, and I turn the bubble thing on. Then I let it work on my feet and lower extremities because my problem is from my knees down, and it feels really good. I put a quarter of a cup of bleach in that water and it foams. I don’t need any soap and come out sparkling clean. I can get in and out the tub really easy because it has the crawl with the handle bar inside the tub, and Safe Step also put one over the faucets for me. I like the way that the door fastens from the inside, as well as the way it drains. It's a very good tub, and I'd recommend it without a doubt.

I got to become a little more user-friendly too because I don't know which button I'm supposed and not supposed to push. I've only used it one time and it made my MS flare up. When it comes to the tub, my favorite feature's the water. I just fill it up to the seat. I take a bath myself and I like to lay down in the tub. My husband apparently really likes it too. I am very dissatisfied with my tub. Well, I think the tubs beautiful. I think the tub is really nice. I like the jets. I like the heater in the seat. I like all the features other than that one thing. It’s not with the Safe Step sales people and installers that I have complaint with. It’s about the door, it’s not wide enough when you open it in. I’m 78 years old, a tall person, about 5’9”. I got bad joints, knees and ankles. I walk with a walker. I have a hard time to get into it and it’s an ordeal for me to get out of that thing. Not everybody is skinny and slim. Anybody that’s impaired and tall, that tub is not designed for tall people per se. If you were impaired, you would understand.
A super nice lady came and showed us videos and all, she is trying to address my issue about it. She showed the inside of the tub, all the breakdown of how it was manufactured. My son said that they will do another mold for me. But I refused because it is going to cost a lot of money. They could have cut back and made that door wider. I got my first tub from Safe Step that I’ve had for about 10 years and this is my second tub. It has a lot of nice features but the door is a no-no. I am still disappointed. The only thing I know is that the engineer need to get on with his job. But, no. They engineered it for people that could get in and out. My issue about the door is the only downside for me. I cannot recommend the tub to people that’s like I am.

I got Safe Step's advertisement in the mail along with several others, and I thought that Safe Step was the best choice. I’m very satisfied and I feel that the operating the system works well. However, there are a few things that I would make perfect. There’s something wrong with the hand sprayer. It looks like they’ve added this from another tub and it was not made for this tub because it doesn’t have its own station. The tub's features are all good except the placement of the controls. In getting in and out of the tub, why should anybody come in contact with the button that turns the water on? It’s also hard to know when the tub is on because of the bidet positioning. My wife would turn it on and she can’t tell that it's already on. There should be an indicator, perhaps a light, to show that the bidet is on and in the right position.
The installer did a good job except that he broke the closing device that goes up and down in the sink right next to it. I had a suspicion he dropped something down there and in trying to extract it, he broke it. It’s not an expensive thing, but I can’t get down anymore to put it in. I’m 84 years old and handicapped. I fell down about two years ago and broke my hip. I’ve seen things that I like to do and tackle, but I can’t do it anymore.
I’m also having a little problem with my wife entering and exiting because there’s no way to secure the door. She’s the one that I bought the tub for. I can still get in and out of any tub, but she needs a comfortable way of getting in and out. She is handicapped and in a wheelchair, and the door should be stable since it’s the first thing she comes in contact with. That’s something that they have to address. I’m an engineer by trade and I have a very easy and simple way of fixing that problem. With the right connection with the people at Safe Step, this can be solved.

The sales guy was super friendly and helpful. It was easy for him because my wife knew exactly what she wanted, and he just had to know how to say yes. The install team were also great. My wife had an accident when they were here. She asked them to leave the room so she’d go to the bathroom and tripped herself. It took a couple of minutes for them to hear her calling for help, but they went in to help her. I didn't expect them to be medical guys but they were extremely helpful in taking good care of my wife. They told us the install would take 2 days, and said, "We'll be out of your house by 5 o’clock on Friday." The installers left at 4:30 on Friday, and everything was clean.
Everything was exactly as we wanted. But the little thing that's put in for adding oils to the tub is missing. The installers said that the company would mail one to me because they broke mine on install, and I never saw it. But overall, I recommend Safe Step and I actually had recommended them. I like the fact that I can turn off the back bubbles as the tub is filling so I can keep my feet being massaged until it gets to the right depth.

I enjoy my Safe Step tub. It works well. The guy that came and talked to me about the tub was very nice. Everybody I had any dealings with was excellent. My concern was the hot water tank is not big enough to handle the water in the tub. I couldn't find on the website about how many gallons of water the tub held. The consultant who came first should have gone over the thing they handed out after the tub was installed and discussed it because it would really put I'm the only one that can use my tub until I get it fixed. I only have a 20-gallon hot water heater and I it takes about 50 gallons to fill that.
I really would like to recommend to Safe Step that they go over in detail with the customer the pamphlet that tells everything that they cover and the cleaning and everything. I don't know how much they do there but when they finished off my tub, one end looks beautiful and the other end they said would have a little hole. But they could have put the same kind of piece that they put on the other end and that would have made it look finished.
When I got up in the middle of the night after the tub was installed, I didn't have any water. They shut down the water at the sink which they forgot to turn back on. I called the service and no one was there to answer the phone so I left a message. They didn't call me back but they did call the repairman and the repairman called me. I thought that was funny because they're a big company but nobody was there to answer. They said they were unavailable at that time. I waited about an hour and nobody called me.
I also had a question about the cleaning because I didn't get my paperwork for four days after they installed it. They forgot it because this was a display model. The guy that talked to me about it, he said that "You rinse it and then wipe it down with the water hose thing." When I got the booklet, it said to use a window spray or something that was okay for acrylics to keep the shine. The guy who was there used a Mr. Clean pad on it and that will take the glaze off. So I bought myself one but when I read that, I thought to better wait and see what they have to say. So, I didn't use it.

We had a great sales experience with Safe Step. The lady that came out was very professional. She knew her craft and she impressed me. Bob from the installation team was a fantastic guy. His wife had just died a couple of days before but he was cheery, informative and helpful and telling us all this good stuff. The product is awesome but I have some problems with it. It's a waist-high bathtub and not a bath-module where we can get in and be totally submerged. It also takes too long to fill up.
Another thing that I find disheartening is the button placements. If I take my hands out of the tub and I naturally rest them on the side, I'm turning off function I've got like the micro-bubbles. It should be some kind of containment slide that goes over it, not necessarily a flip something that would endanger it. But something very simple. The way it’s designed is great but maybe it should have those little snap on shower things that we put on our kitchen sink to rinse our hair to clamp over the hose so that while sitting there and filling it, water won't shoot out and splash them.
I'm recommending the product. The only drawback is the pricing because all these old folks are on fixed incomes. But it’s a wonderful product. When somebody who has some problems tries the therapy on and the micro-bubbles and sits there for fifteen minutes, they'll leave feeling good and asleep. The good thing I like about it is it prevents accidental slipping under water with the design it has.

I wanted to get a Safe Step. They were expensive, but it was said to be the safest one. It was 4 inches that you step over. The others are higher. I had somebody from there come out and talk about it. They told me all about the features - it has more features than other tubs like a Jacuzzi. Lowe's and Home Depot have their similar tubs, but you have to have them installed. The man who came out here to sell me the tub wanted a 30% down. I told my daughter, who's a CPA, about it and she said "There's no way I would pay somebody 30% of that kind of money and just turn around and walk out of my house... I will pay when the job is done. And you have time to check these people out... It could be a scam." So she checked Safe Step online and a lot of the comments said, "Do not give them any money until your tub is installed properly."
I told the salesperson about this, and he said they'd take some more money off if I paid cash. All the deductions that they gave me helped sell their tub to me because I got a good bit off. But I won't pay so much cash upfront. The salesman called his boss and he said, "We'll get the check when we get it put in." The salesperson also told me that I don't have to use any soap with the tub. All I had to do was turn it on and the bubbles will do down there, clean my skin, and exfoliate it. But the people who installed it laughed and told me I still have to use soap. That made more sense. Although it could turn people off if the salesperson says that.
After the installation, there have been a couple of things that didn't come up when one of the installers gave me instructions about the tub. He told me I don't have to use the bath jets. But, why wouldn't I when I have them? I found out later that if I use the bath jets, they squirt water all over the bathroom and everything gets wet. There should be a precaution not to run them until you get the tub completely full. Since nobody told me about that, I had a couple of experiences where everything got soaked. There's also a heat regulation feature that they did not put in and they don't recommend them. They said it causes more trouble for the tub. Why would you even say you had that feature if you don’t recommend it?
