When the showman shows up it was all go. Until he demanded to have my wife there while she was at work. I was the one who makes the choice. And pay bills. So I will never trust Safe Step tubs again. They will have to give it free to us. Cause the rudeness and the trying to bully was not my idea of a sale. I did report them to the BBB. No one should be treated like that.

I don't want to buy a new one. I just want a point of contact in San Diego, CA 92154 to repair it and check it out for safety. I've had it for less than 10 years and I want it checked out. Horrible go around of nobody answering me.

After a year and a half, a gate valve inside the tub leaked ruining a portion of my kitchen ceiling. Just getting the local company contracted by Safe Step to come out and find the problem was a major chore. They gave me a serious runaround. I was told by a Safe Step executive that the repair to the ceiling would be covered as long as I submitted three estimates to Safe Step. I did this and it's been two weeks now, and I'm still waiting to hear something from Safe Step.

Updated on 2/15/2018: This post is a follow up to my earlier post describing how a leak in a gate valve of the Safe Step tub ruined my kitchen ceiling. The company agreed to cover the damages, Well, I got an e-mail from Safe Step the following day saying that they sent out a check January 24th. Here it is February 15th and I am still waiting for the check. How did they send the check? Pony Express? Or did they not send a check at all, but posted that they did knowing that people would read the post and think that Safe Step responds quickly to customer issues. I'm now going to call the company and hear what they have to say about this. Should be very interesting.

The installation was as promised, and the tub is everything as advertised except: 1. Don’t see any effects or even smell the aromatherapy. 2. The seat is only half heated due to a design flaw. 3. The shower curtain they furnish is way too long to be useful. I had to pay to have it shortened. 4. It’s too easy to flip the handle up and open the door by accident and flood your bathroom. For these reasons I deducted two stars. The actual water and air jets work well and do their job. Otherwise a nice design and functional. Overall a mostly satisfactory buy.

The tub takes so long to fill and empty my 80 year old mother decided she'd turn it on to fill, then use a ladder to climb in and out. It's a miracle she hasn't broken her neck or drowned yet. You can bet I'll hold Safe Step responsible when she injures herself. Their high pressure salesmen lied to my father about it filling in a reasonable amount of time. It takes 20 mins!! Too long. My Mom is nearly hypothermic in 20 mins sitting there naked waiting for a damned tub to fill. Then draining takes just as long. Luckily it is so slow she's only bathing and climbing up and down the ladder once a week now. I just called them as a new potential customer to ask for price info, but they won't give price info over the phone. Only a high pressure salesman is allowed to talk about that in person with the elderly person at the home. Stay away from these crooks. They prey upon elderly and ought to be arrested. Shame on you all involved in this scam company.

Response from Safe Step Walk-In Tub

This tub was purchased in 2012 from a Safe Step Walk In Tub dealer and the customer does not own this home any longer, we found this out when we called the daughter this morning to try to address her complaints and issues. Three things that we cannot control is hot water pressure, drain time or how long it takes to fill up tub. Safe Step connects to an existing fixture, do not modify existing plumbing so water pressure would not be affected by our tub. If we had been notified years ago, we would have talked with customer about consulting with a plumber and kept mom from climbing on/off ladder - even if we needed to provide them with a walk-in shower. Safe Step Walk In Tub Co promotes safety for their elderly customers and we constantly update our products with the safety of our customers in mind.

I had a Safe Step walk in tub put in my home, and I thought I would like it. Well I don't. I thought I could have my mother taken out of the nursing home in Indiana and brought here and that the tub would help for her. That didn't happen because she fell and broke her hip.The tub is too expensive and had to get a bigger water heater because it takes too much water! I used it once and haven't used it again. Where the water drains the shiny part is peeling off, I thought all parts were stainless steel.

I purchased a Safe Step walk in tub four years ago. I have no problem with the salesman or the installer except for the fact that the installer told me that they had sent the wrong door for my tub and it would mean a trip back to Florida to get the right door. He said the door would work that I had so he installed it. I believe the door opens the wrong way. This tub is the most overpriced mistake that I have ever made. It is uncomfortable - you sit on the heated seat and freeze to death while the tub fills. I have arthritis and thought it would help - I see no difference. I dislike the tub so much. It is hard to clean - just wish I had my money back. Must have been a senior moment when I agreed to pay that exorbitant price - could kick myself daily!

The tub is wonderful but the cost of financing can make the tub in the end cost 30K if you only pay the minimum amount due. I wish I had shopped around more in hindsight. I also was charged more for things that were never done like removing the toilet and widening the door. They said I would get a credit back on those things and I never did. I gave up on trying to get the credit back. I would recommend people check out at least three tub companies before purchasing. I only checked one and regret it. The tub is wonderful but is it worth 30K... I don't think so. When you purchase and if you finance ask yourself if you can pay more than the minimum.

I bought a tub 2 years ago. It did not work properly from day 1 when you turned on. The jet's fine turning them off was a problem... I have used the tub about 4 times in 2 years... They did not respond at all to my complaints about the switch. I decided to give it one more try... Started filling the tub and it leaked water out on the floor so I drained it and starting trying to get in touch with Safe Step. We emailed and called several times... It took them over a month to reply and then we were being put on the list for repair.

Another month went by and finally someone came to the house... He was here for about 10 minutes and said he didn't have the part but would order it. 2 months later no part so we started calling again. Their answer was it was shipped in August. Well it's October and no part and it's not fixed. However they did tell me it would be about a thousand dollars to fix it so this is my review. It's very overpriced, if you pay cash as we did you own it. No customer service at all... I wish I had my money back and it was gone. Thank you. 80 year old male. Sorry we got ripped off. Beware.

I saw Safe Step Walk-in Tubs and I called them. Their sales rep was very friendly and we had a good rapport. Their installation team was friendly as well and I could watch whenever I wanted when they installed it. Plus, I’m 76 years old and my knees are bad and I like that I could get in and out of the tub. That was the main reason for getting it. My husband especially likes the handrail. I also like the jets but I would like to have them on the side. I'm top-heavy and I wish I could get some penetration on the shoulders instead of the back. That's what I learned from having this tub.

So, I'm watching the TV man to try to find a tub with more jets and see if I could get that when I do it in my house in Richmond, Virginia. Also, I wish the seat was a little lower because when I sit, my shoulders were out of the water. I couldn’t get it over my shoulder unless I stoop down in the lower part. On the other hand, my husband has a back problem and the back penetration was good for him. I would definitely recommend Safe Step.

The lighting is nice and you can set it to whatever mood you like, and the microbubbles are neat too. It all works fine.

It was a good experience dealing with their sales rep. He was extremely nice. He explained everything thoroughly and showed me all kinds of information. The installers were very polite and nice as well. They had quite a job, but they did great. I’ve had the Safe Step tub for more than a month now and I like everything about it. My favorite features are the heated seat and the whirlpool. The whirlpool leaves me a little easier to maneuver. Also, it's relaxing and it helps with any kind of stress, pain or muscle train. Reviewed Oct. 10, 2017

I'm very pleased with my Safe Step Walk-in Tub so far. The only thing is it takes so long to fill up. I'm not a long tub person yet, so I've been taking quick showers and I would like to get used to this long tub business. I got one of those $1,500-off coupons from some kind of magazine and I've always wondered about them so I just called. Then I did it. Jennifer came to see me and she was very, very nice, She did everything she's supposed to do and I have no complaints. She showed me sample videos and described everything about it. Then she did all the measurements and decided what they needed or didn't need to do.

The installers did a very good job and were very, very nice. I had a little dead space, but when the men came, they were not so sure it's a dead space. They thought maybe some of my piping that goes up to the roof might be there. They climbed up the attic and went down under the floor just to make sure it was dead space. It turned out Jennifer and I were right about it being just dead space.

They set it up and did a nice job. I was worried about the ceiling cause I didn't want this messed up look in my ceiling just in case they cut all that dead space up. They dropped it down from the ceiling and were able to make it look really cute. They said that they've had to maneuver around that in different houses and had come up with ideas on what they can do to keep from ruining somebody's house. The only thing is where it jutted out on the floor. I have little pretty tiles in the bathroom, and they had to cut out the tiles 'cause the tub wouldn't fit. It left a little empty place on the floor where they had to cut the wall out. I'm hoping I can something from Lowes to fill in that little place because one of these days I might sell this house. I'd get too old and I'm not going to be able to live here for all of my life.

I like the light. I like to turn the lights on and just sit there. I can watch them while the tub's filling up. The first few times I got in there, I didn't even do the jets because I was afraid. Then I did the one where it gets bubbly and I liked it. I don't like sitting down on anything cold so I like the power seat. I think I am going to really like it better as I get used to it and as I learn to slow down. As a whole, I like it and it's just going to be very beneficial. If they can afford it, this is the perfect thing for people who like tub baths as they get older. I grew up taking tub baths and I don't care for showers at all. However, I know I could use the shower part of it if I was in a bit of a hurry. It's nice to be able to know that you can get in and out of that thing without getting stuck in there.

But it's been a couple of months now and I haven't heard back from them on that. They installed the tub and put up a grab bar, a mirror insulation, and a shower curtain. I've been in it, and I fairly like it, but I'm having trouble getting the lights to work. I'm pretty dissatisfied right now. They were fast to put the tub in and to want the money, but the installation is not completed yet. And the man who's supposed to come next week will finish it. I contacted their customer service three times and the representative scheduled for someone to come tomorrow and then he called back and canceled it until next week.

However, we had a problem with the department that's in charge of installation. The guy that installed the tub thought that the job was finished when he left. The shower part did not work properly and it just trickled out. We called several times before we could get someone to come take care of it. We started calling four days after it was installed and it did not get fixed until a month later. We were more than satisfied with the salesman and the person who did the initial installation but we would not recommend Safe Step because of the way the business office handled the follow-up.

We’ve had the Safe Step tub for a little over a month now. Their sales rep was very good and he knew his merchandise. He was not high pressure at all. He just gave us the facts. The installers were here about five after 8:00 in the morning and they were very cautious in covering the floor in and out of the front door. They did a beautiful job and cleaned up everything just the way we expected them to. We’re very pleased. They were gone by about 4:00. I was really thrilled with the tub. We like its microbubble feature. My husband has very dry ankles from diabetes and other health issues and the tub has helped his legs so much by exfoliating them. He also loves it for his severe back problems. It feels so good when he has his back jets on. Also, I had hip replacement surgery and can get into a regular bathtub but can’t get out. This Safe Step tub had enabled me to have a bath. We’re very satisfied customers and we’ve already talked about it to friends.

It's not necessary for me to have a walk-in tub at this point in my life, but I was anticipating. I've had to use it as a shower right after it was installed because I had someone come in and took over my shower room. So, I had to learn how to use it as a shower. I don't have the patience to use it as a tub because I have to wait seven minutes for it to fill. And the only way to do it now, when I do use it, is to crawl over the side after it's full and then I crawl out. I don't wait for it to empty because it's just too much.

Their salesperson put up the figures and everything else but one time, when I called their Nashville office, it took them a couple of weeks to return my call. Then Steve, the installer, had to come back because I had a question on the caulking in the back. I also made a second call several weeks ago to have him come out again because the main access panel is loose. They told me that all I had to do was press it and it'll go back, but it's not going back. Steve then called me and said he could come on the 9th or 10th of September but that was my birthday weekend so I told him not to come. He said he had a real busy week and I haven't heard from him since. But the overall experience was very good and I’ve recommended Safe Step to a friend.

I'm not really satisfied with the whole Safe Step deal. They have a fine product but they don’t tell the pricing upfront. There seem to be a pressure that if I didn’t make up my mind, I will lose $300, $400, $500. The sales rep was real secretive about the price. The first question he asked was, “Well, how much can you afford for this product?” And he said, “Well, how much do you think one of these will go for?” And before I can get in there, my wife shouted a price and so immediately right there, he knew where his cushion was. He worked with that number instead of upfront pricing. If people knew how much it was going to cost them, I really doubt that they would sign up because it’s expensive. It’s like buying a brand new car and I don’t think that it should cost that much.

Everything’s already installed and the installation was fine. I’ve tried it a couple times and it got a little bit too warm for me because I got COPD and type 2 diabetes and everything’s kind of a pain to a head and giving me panic attacks. But my wife’s happy with it. She has fibromyalgia and it helps her relax, soothe her muscles and take the pain away a little bit. It is effective to a point but they’re not upfront about the volume of water that it takes. I recently just reread the stuff and it says it takes approximately 72 gallons.

Right now, it drains my water tank and they won’t put in a 50-gallon tank into my structure. I had to have it replumbed and they raised it up and adjusted the valve so they can get a bit more hot water out of the system. I had to spend $1,600 for the plumbing on top of what I spent for the tub. The salesman supposedly gave me a discount but they can have a whole lot better deal to have upfront pricing. Now he got me in debt. The workmanship, the product, and everything is a good deal but it’s the overall expense that I got a problem with, and I’m going to have a problem with for several years.

The installation guys were very knowledgeable. They clean up after themselves and they were also really quick. My wife loves our walk-in tub. She had issues with her feet and she thinks it's a little bit better since we got the tub. I got it for her, but I've also been in it once, so far. There were a couple of times when the drain wouldn't work right. When you pull up on the drain, the stopper wouldn't come up because there was a lock on the stud that's on the stopper and it was loose. I didn't know what happened with it but I adjusted it and tightened it up, and it was fixed.

I was also going to call Safe Step about the baseboard that goes at the bottom of the tub. They put a white one on instead of an almond color, which is the color of the tub. It looks kind of odd. Other than that, we're happy with the tub and I'm glad we did it and I hope we'll have many years of trouble-free service. I would recommend it, too. And, if I can get somebody to call my salesman and buy one, he said he'd give me $500.

My wife handed me a Safe Step Walk-in Tubs advertisement in our magazine, and I liked the mini jets. Plus, the salesman was good. We also worked out a deal involving a shower head and surround for our other bathroom. We just had to come together on a price on that. The installers were in and out in a day. They did a good job, but I should have changed the tub out before getting started on the shower. I had put it in for guests and for the family that's here and the features all work well. The step-in worked out good, but I should have thought that a little bit more about my second bathroom where I did my tub.

My roommate saw Safe Step on TV and they could get to me quicker than the other one so I chose them. The rep tried his best to give us a long and drawn-out program. We wanted the best he had to offer and we wanted to get a check and be done with it. But he kept trying to tell us about everything. He’s a very nice man but we had other things to do. But the installers were awesome. Somebody said the installation could take as much as three days and we were dreading it. But the installers got in here and they got it done in a few hours’ time.

I had a knee surgery and I wasn't able to get in my regular tub so I went for quite a while without a good soak. Since the installation of the walk-in tub, I feel better about myself because I'm cleaner. We love the jets and the lights but my favorite feature is the bidet. And then my mom gave me some headphones to use in there but they keep cutting on and off. I thought there was a short in the headphones but when I use them outside of the tub, they're fine. Also, I didn't realize the jets moved freely and I thought that was a problem. A rep got back with me right away and was willing to come and see if he could help so I was impressed by that. I would recommend Safe Step to anybody.

The Safe Step rep was very good and the installer was wonderful, too. However, the tub leaked. We talked to the salesperson, and I put a stop on a check that I wrote because I didn’t want to pay for it if it was going to leak. So, the installer called me the next day, and he came out the day after that. He was at the house for two hours, fixed it, and then it worked fine. I was highly satisfied with the way I was treated all the way from the purchase to the installation. I haven’t been in the tub but my wife likes it.

My favorite is the circulation and the small bubbles or mist, but I have to pay attention when I turn on the circulation for the back or I'll be throwing water all over the place. We were thinking about purchasing a walk-in tub so we called and got some information from a bunch of companies. Safe Step was the best one that gave us more information on any of the walk-in tubs. We love our Safe Step and Andrew, the rep we worked with, was nice. He got right on the ball. They kept giving us a bunch of calls that they'll get to me. I called Andrew and told him that I have a mess and the installers haven't come out yet or called. He called me back and he said that somebody was going to be calling me within two hours and they did. The installers got out here the next day and looked at it.

The installation team was right on it. They talked to us when they finished installing and they also told us how to use the walk-in tub. My mother in law had back and knee surgery, and she’s got a pinched nerve and a sciatic nerve. She gets down in the walk-in tub with all the jets going and it hits every spot that it needs to. My husband had a collarbone surgery and the tub helps him in the back area. I’m getting ready to have knee surgery, so it does help relax the nerves and joints. And then my son, who's 18, got in and loves it. He also has muscle aches since he works on a Van’s Foods company and he throws out meat. The tub could be a little cheaper but other than that, we love it and we already recommended some people outside or inside our family that would love to try it.

I called the main number instead and they took care of the problem. The installers were very good. It took them most of the day, but they did a fine job. I like the foot massage and the microbubbles, but the microbubbles takes forever to fill the tub. The cost was also too much for what I get.

I also liked that when I talked to their sales rep, she was really nice and she lives in the neighborhood. She came to the house and made my parents very comfortable as she interacted with them. My parents love the tub especially my father as he’s the big bath taker. My mother has Alzheimer’s or dementia and she wasn't taking baths before. But she is taking baths now since we had the new tub. Also, the fact that they can rinse off before they get out of the tub makes me I feel like that dirty water is rising off of them and they’re cleaner. We checked the difference between Safe Step Walk-in Tubs and several different companies, and we liked Safe Step's lifetime warranty. Their sales reps were also great. They didn't push me one bit and they answered all our questions and proposed questions I haven't even thought of. Then the husband and wife came and did a remarkable job installing it. They came sometime in the morning after 9:00 o clock and did it in one day.

Once done, the quality was beyond my standards. We got the best shower unit and curtains and everything. However, our 40-gallon electrical water heater wasn't good enough when doing a complete soak. So, I changed to a gas water heater and I have continuous hot water all I want. I had rhabdomyolysis in the legs and I was having trouble getting in a tub. I also had concerns with slipping in the tub. But with the Safe Step Walk-in Tub, I just sit down in the unit and there's nothing to worry about. Also, I feel more rejuvenated since using it. Though it's expensive, my wife and I are enjoying it.

The Safe Step tub should at least be two or three inches wider and I’m not happy with it at all. It’s not wide enough for me and my elbows and arms are hitting the walls. The rep had talked to me so he ought to know how big was the tub he needed. He was bigger than me but he said he’s got the same size too, so he lied right there. He’s the one who put it in there and I can hardly move in the tub. I called Safe Step customer service about that and they put me with the salesman and he just brushed it off. That is not good and I want something done because it’s not right.

They should have changed the tub. I gave enough money for the tub that they should have come back and fixed that. And during the installation the tech busted part of the frame of the doorway in my bathroom and I didn’t see it after they left. I was more worried about the tub and I was mad so I didn’t bring that to their attention. I’m not satisfied with the tub at all. What matters to me is the service I got after it’s put in and they weren’t going to do anything about it.

He answered our questions in a good way and didn’t make us feel inept. The installation team said that they would be here between 7:30 and 8:00 in the morning and they were here. I enjoy taking baths in the tub and I'm not worried about falling in and out of it. It helps me with my headaches too. Also, I like the micro stuff. But for a taller guy like me, the leg jets would be better if they were stronger. Since I have longer legs, they push out the jets and they don't get the back of my calf well. I had all these other people schedule to come out here and Safe Step showed up first. A lady named Pam and another guy came together and they had a van. They showed me a Safe Step tub like they show on TV. The best of my knowledge, that tub was a solid tub. When they came up here with my tub, they came up here with my tub from down in Tennessee. They got it out of the box and I couldn’t get in it. After I told Safe Step that I looked at the one on the back of their van and I couldn’t get in, I had to have the biggest and the best. They gave it from $17,000 to $11,000. They got us sign a contract to give them $5,000 upfront, which I did. It was messed up when I gave them $5,000. I was ready to cancel, but they wouldn't give me my money back.

It was supposed to have been put in on the 6th of last month. They came up here with a tub, and it was all in pieces. Side panels weren't magnetized and it was in pieces. They had Dekro on there. When they got it put in, there’s no sealer coat besides the Dekro and then they caulked up the cracks and everything. Then they had to put a six to eight-inch little step down on it and everything. But they did all these in one day’s time. It looked pretty good when they first got it done. They told us we couldn’t use it for 48 hours. We didn’t use it until late Sunday evening 'cause they didn’t get it put in until late Friday evening. We waited late Sunday evening to use it. We're both elderly people and both of us crippling. We got a 19-year-old crippled granddaughter that has to wear braces up to her knees and can't walk. We mainly got the tub for her and me and my wife because we're both crippled in a wheelchair and a walker.

They carried all these pieces into my car garage. I got to look and some of these panels were all worked up, flat and straight. I was looking at this old Dekro on the back of them and I'm thinking, “Surely. This ain’t what I'm getting. How is this going to look when they get done?” Well, when they got done, it looked pretty good. The next morning, which was a Saturday, I was in there sitting on the stool beside it looking around the door and all that caulk came loose. I reached out and pushed on it to see if it stayed up and it wouldn't stay up. The caulking is also still so sticky that your hair will get stuck with it.

I called the installer and he told me to send him a tube of caulk and he can fix it. I went trying to call somebody to come and do something about the issue all weekend, emergency line. Nobody can get that done and said that I had to wait for Monday after 8:00. Then they lied to him and sent me the wrong tub. I went and called back trying to see what I could get done. They told me they got it coming on the 18th for my schedule.

On the 18th, they showed up here with this tub that I've got. I wish I can get in it, but I just stand over on the far corner and turned my feet sideways one way and one the other way, and lean to the back as far as I can lean to get the door shut. It doesn't work well for me. It works good for my granddaughter. We're paying $11,000 for something and it's falling apart. Finally, Monday morning, the installer showed me where he had put an extension on it. He told me that everything's lifetime warranty as long as I live in the house and that they'll come within 24 hours. On Monday evening the one I spoke to wasn't too generous with me. He told me that they couldn't send someone out until Thursday. I said, “I've gone without our bathroom from Friday until today to even get in there and to shower off.” I also told him that it was an emergency.

What happened to all those guarantees within 24 hours? Our handicapped granddaughter is supposed to be without the equipment for a week? Safe Step ripped me off for $11,000. They told me I couldn’t get it done cheaper, but I could have. I've threatened them of BBB because I have been lied to since the get-go. American Standard came down to $7,000 something. Kohler down the road here came down to below $8,000. We started out with $17,000 here at the house trying to get me to pay that. I am absolutely dissatisfied.

My dad said Safe Step has good people working for them.

I was the first one to try the walk-in tub and I loved it. I said, "If this was my bath, I might have a candle and a radio, and I'd be in there all the time." But even if the tub is right off my parents' bedroom and others have enjoyed using it, my mother, who's got dementia, was afraid of it at first because of the way the drawer locks. But I told her it's absolutely safe and there's no way she can fall. We had to tell her before to move her leg over so we could shut the door, but she's getting used to the tub and she's getting better at getting into it. As time goes on, she'll have no choice but use it more as that tub cost her $14,000. On the other hand, my dad likes to shower and think. He has poor circulation in his legs and sits down whenever he wants, and I told him to try the jets today. All in all, we've had an excellent experience with Safe Step.

I like the jets feature. My wife was mainly the one who used the tub, but we’ve been busy because her sister died and she only used it two or three times. She’s happy with it, though, and the only thing she complained about was having to sit in it and wait for it to fill up. The Safe Step people were very pleasant and knowledgeable and everything went fine.

I have been thinking about getting a walk-in tub for a while and looked at two or three but there are some features about them that I didn't like. And then Safe Step came up which had different features. The tub kind of looks like a Cadillac instead of a Ford. It's much nicer than the other ones I have looked at and I love all of its features. The sales rep was a very nice man -- no hard sell and just knowledgeable. Also I was amazed at how quickly they got the installation done and how nice the tub looked. I had special tile work done on around the edges of the other large tub that I had. I told them I didn't want the tile work messed up and they didn't touch it. When they took the old tub out the cleanup was spotless. They didn't leave anything behind. I've had more relaxation since the installation. Everything went so positive.

Getting in and out of a regular tub was hard for me and I figured it would be easy for me if I get a walk-in tub. Safe Step Walk-in Tubs was the first one I called and they were very easy to deal with. The ones I talked with on the phone were the nicest and most helpful people ever. They were very pleasant to talk with and very knowledgeable about the product. The installation team was very professional and knew what they're doing. I'm very happy with how quickly things got done and I'm very pleased with the tub. I shower in it and it's much easier because I could sit. I'm looking forward to using it all the way when I get my larger hot water tank. I highly recommend Safe Step.

The sales rep of Safe Step was really helpful and nice. My wife's bedridden and on a wheelchair 24/7, and the rep put his presentation on my TV and we watched it in there. He then explained everything. The installation team was exceptional too. They explained everything to me. I'm in my 80s and I've had a stroke and I can't move around too good. I was getting in the way because I liked to see what's going on. Not that I didn't trust them, I just wanted to see for myself what's happening. But, they were really nice and they helped me and they cleaned up too.

I've been showing the Safe Step to everybody, and they come in and say, "Boy, they did a really good job on this." We're happy. I like the micro bubble thing because my left foot has got a big bunion on the bottom and it makes it soft. I also like all of the other features. My daughter talks about soaking in it as well and she says they'll just have to come every three weeks.

The installers were nice and great, too, and they showed my husband how to go through the whole tub. Everything was wonderful and I enjoy the tub, especially the warm seat. The installation team arrived early, worked until very late and did a very nice job. There was a leak initially but they came back right away and fixed it. The walk-in tub is expensive as all hell but it performs its duty. I'm not over my boots about it, but it's something necessary because of my condition. I live with its drawbacks such that I have to get in and wait until the water fills up and that's a little more than I usually like to do. When I had a shower, I used to take it every day but now I only take baths every other day. All in all, I'd recommend Safe Step.

The lifetime warranty made us go with Safe Step in buying a walk-in tub. The two guys that installed the tub did a beautiful job. They were very neat in the way they put the tub in there and caulked everything. Both my wife and my mother-in-law, Ruth, have used the tub and they liked everything about it. The previous tub that was in the house was just a 5-foot, regular, fiberglass tub.

But after the tub was installed, we've had some problems with the electrical wiring, although the issue was not with the tub itself. Instead of running the wires through the attic, the electrician ran the wires down underneath the house, which was fine. But he had a problem in getting the wire down through the sill plate. He worked like crazy since all the wires for the whole house go down through that sill plate and he finally got the wire through. But the electrician might have pulled something loose in the electric box or skinned a wire. Since then, the lights in our kitchen don't work right and won't come on, then all of a sudden they come on after two or three days. The house isn't that old and we never had a problem with that before. We have to wait three days before the Safe Step guys will come to check on that issue. Other than that, Safe Step was very good overall.

A little card that slipped out of a magazine from the mail caught my eye because Safe Step had a $1,500 discount on it, which I have never seen on any kind of walk-in tub. Their rep Jim came and was very thorough when he explained to us. Since we are seniors, he gave us another discount and that was very nice. My husband and I talked it over and he said that we didn't think we could get that kind of bargain on it. It was great and so we signed the papers. We're supposed to put the $4,000 down, but I got all the rest of the money by the time they finished with it. More so, the rep kept all his promises after we got it.

The installation team was very knowledgeable and they answered all the questions I asked. They were also very pleasant with everything. Everything turned out nice and we are enjoying the tub. I like the lights, the seat at the back and the seat's heat that I turn on. I also like the buttons that I push to make everything looks nice. It's a very nice tub and the whole experience was unexpected yet was as much as I hoped for.

Safe Step's presentation was very convincing and it seemed to have a lot of benefits over the other companies so we went with them. Everything was professional during the installation and I'm satisfied with what the installers did. But my parents are having trouble adjusting to the tub. All the gadgets and the handles seemed very confusing to them.

So even though we got the tub for physical reasons, we didn’t take into account that for them it means having to learn new things which is hard to do at their age. My mother is used to sitting flat on the bottom of a tub so she will not sit on the seat. She will try to sit on the floor of the thing, which is a bit shorter than a real tub. My father is doing okay with the shower part of it but he's still using our other walk-in shower instead of that tub. It's geared towards people with physical problems, but with the mental state that's still sharp. In this case, my parents' physical state is pretty good but the mental part isn't. And that’s something that never crossed my mind during this whole process. So Safe Step should also make sure that the customer has the mental capacity to operate the tub.

I saw Safe Step and being 67 and my husband over 70, we figured it would be ideal for us but it wasn’t, unfortunately. I have to sit down on the cold seat and let the water fill up past the jets and I could turn it on and then turn the heated seats up. I can't turn the machine on because I'll ruin it if it doesn’t have water in it and that’s $15,000. It takes at least 15 to 20 minutes to fill up the tub and I just sit there and do nothing until the tub fills up. I also have to take the showerhead and put it all the way over the faucet to hang it up on the wall to take a shower.

I can't even take a shower and that’s another bad feature. I have to sit down, shut the door and then stand up to take a shower. I can't shut the door without sitting down on the seat. These are things that I wasn’t aware of and that’s why Safe Step should have a display unit somewhere close like Cherokee, that somebody could go in and actually see how it works before they buy it. Also, the sales rep went over them, but he didn’t say I will be sitting on a cold seat for 15 to 20 minutes. But once you fill it all up and turn it on, it works great. I enjoy it after a minute. My hair is softer and I got rid of a lot of dead skin because of the jets. I also like the lights that change.

On the other hand, they pressured me to it in one day and I didn’t even have a chance to shop around and see if there was something else that worked for us. They said, “You only get this discount if you get it today. Otherwise, you don’t get this discount.” So, I felt like they were pressuring, but we're stuck with it. When it works, it works. We got the $15,000 paid for but I’m not getting my money’s worth. I wouldn’t recommend it to somebody.

I wanted the walk-in tub because my wife was having trouble getting in and out of the tub. I had a salesman from Safe Step come down and he was a fast talker and he showed me all the differences between all of the different tubs. At first I decided not to get it and then he came back. He pressured me and pressured me. He said, “Well, we’ll deduct $3000 off the price.” So I went from $14,000 to $11,000 and I told him, “Well, what about the interest and taxes and that?” He said, “Oh there’s no interest and no taxes. It’s just $150 a month.” I already got a bill and it showed $39 and interest a month. That’s like 30 something percent interest.

It looked like the quality of the tub was good but we've had a lot of trouble with it and I can't get anybody to help us with that. For one thing the tub is not level. And if I get water on the shower it runs off down unto the floor. Another thing is they had to cut a hole in the bedroom next to the bathroom to put the tub in and they didn't put anything under one of the legs of the tub and that's probably why it's not level. And they just put one piece of drywall over the hole that they made in the wall and then they didn't finish like putting the plaster back on. They just left the gap all the way around.

And then they had another guy come out and he wanted to look at the tub not being level. So he poured the shelving off to the wall that was over the hole that they made. The pipes were rattling after they got them every time I turn the water on unto that. They left one of the pipes loose and so the other guy came over, just dug down some wedges in between the pipe and the wall, didn't fasten up and down and now it's doing it again.

For a $11,000 tub it should be working but it’s not. It’s also a hassle to clean. I have to clean it because my wife can’t. I can deal with that but all the other stuff is just frustrating like not being able to talk to anybody that really cares. I've been trying to get ahold of somebody that pays attention and it seemed like they're brushing me off because every time I talk to somebody, they recommend me to somebody else.

I called the maintenance people. I even tried calling the main office and she gave me a phone number to the manager and I've been trying to call this manager and I get a busy signal. A corporation like that and I get a busy signal? That doesn't make sense. It seems like after we got the tub they forget about us and it's supposed to be a lifetime warranty? I don't think so. I wouldn't recommend Safe Step to anybody. I'm reaching out to the Better Business Bureau and I'm filing a complaint.

They had to do some extra for us because of the size of our bathroom and the tub seems well-built, so they did a great job. They cleaned up after themselves as well. They left the literature for me and it’s point-blank on how to use the tub. My husband’s favorite feature is the bubble therapy. After his first use of it, he was very calm. I love my Safe Step Walk-in Tub. Their commercial on the television hit me at the right time. Because the tub had everything we wanted and it sounded like a good deal, we decided to go with Safe Step. Also, we happen to have the money to pay for the tub. Their sales rep was very nice. He just talked to us rather than pushed a sale. He explained all of the details and covered everything. I had a few questions about the tub, the door and some other things which I just couldn’t understand. And the rep explained in detail how they work so that I wouldn’t have any problem with them.

Their installers came in here about 8:30. My daughter came up with the idea putting it in the front bathroom, so we don’t have to disturb our master bathroom. By 3:00, the installation team was gone and my tub was in there. They were fast and when they left, I had no dirt or anything. We had a little trouble with the lever that lets the water out, but the installers came back and fixed that.

The walk-in tub works well and it covers everything for me. I'm claustrophobic so showers were getting worst. I also have a back condition and I can't stand up long enough to take a shower. When I’m in the tub, I get a little more feeling of comfort. People always say that it takes so long to get the tub filled. But, you can still use it if you’re in a hurry. Once I had a doctor’s appointment and I knew I couldn’t enjoy an hour or two in the tub, so I just got in there, locked the door, sit, and had the waters up to about my knees and I was taking a bath. And then I showered off after I got through. I really enjoy the tub. I recommend this brand and in fact, I showed off the walk-in tub to a daughter-in-law.

My husband surprised me and told me he had someone come in to explain Safe Step to us because my knees wouldn't pick me up anymore. I was using this pout for the water to make myself steady getting up out of the tub and he was thinking Safe Step would help me to step in the tub. The rep showed us some other choices in other stores in that little video when he was here. We had the timeline when he came and we were very impressed with him. We’re writing him a letter to tell him that because he didn't push. He was here a couple of hours and explained it all so we knew what we were getting. He was excellent and thorough. Then two fellows came for the installation at the time they said they'd come and cleaned up everything totally. My husband said they were very efficient and all professional. We asked them to take a break so we got them a pizza and they were still done on time.

I use the tub everyday though I don't use the jets as often. I like to fill it up to the seat and I get all washed. I sit down in the water and it's up all over my shoulders. It maybe a tiny tub but I’m so cozy in there because the two handles are perfect and strategically placed. I just lower and pull myself up with them and it's my favorite way to use it. The bubbles on it if we put the lavender in and turn the hose on makes my skin soft. It's a quick easy bath. If I want to relax longer, I'd tilt the tub up which is the jets. I sleep with the lights just for fun and the heater seems nice. I remember that the rep said about cleaning with bleach once a month so I make sure I do it on a regular schedule. He told me to use the Blue Dawn. I wipe it off every time and dry it. I wonder if there is anything extra to do to make sure that stays nice. I always weigh how in the world can a tubing that holds the water last for years and years.

We're very happy with Safe Step. We told a lot of our friends that we have it and my son would have one too if it weren't so expensive. Our neighbor that saw it even thinks that’s an added value for the resale of our condo. We also have a friend who is 92 years old that has one for three years and he loves Safe Step. He told us it would be put in and everything would be taken care of. After the installers were done, they cleaned up after but they didn't put my frame around my door right. Other than that, the tub is nice. I can get a bath or a shower in it, and it's made in the USA. Also, when I used the bath, it took the dead skin off of my feet. Safe Step is good for your body.

I liked that Safe Steps Walk-in Tub has an aircraft steel shape to it. It's also really sturdy and has a lifetime warranty, so if anything floods, they should move and cover that problem. And if I ever move, I can take it out and move it into a new home. Then I can always plug in a different type of tub in the house that I am in now. The rep was a really nice gentleman. He talked about their competition, what they do and what they have to offer. Then showed everything this tub had to offer. He then measured the area and he was very thorough with the demo.

We were intrigued by the microbubbles that are supposed to help clean us up. He said we don't have to use soap because these bubbles can get into our pores and help strip and clean our skin really well. My wife and daughter have Muscular Dystrophy so it seemed to be the better option. We also like that it's a lower step with about four inches to step into the tub and that the door is much wider too. The rep thoroughly went over everything and talked through the steps and we enjoyed his presentation. He didn't pressure us into anything and took his time. The experience with him was very good.

The two gentlemen who came to install were really synchronized and talked me through what they were doing. At that time, I had already started tearing the door on my bathroom. It was 24 inches, so, it was smaller. I also had one closet in the bathroom torn out. They cut the area open wider to put the tub in. We talked and they were really good. Then instead of putting a 24-inch door back, I ended up going with the 30-inch door. They made sure the cutout was set for me so that I can place my 30-inch door once everything was done. They were very thorough and professional. They treated me with respect and if I had a question, they did not hesitate to answer. They were a really good crew.

The Safe Step tub has been a blessing for me. The previous tub was much higher and my wife can't get in and she struggles to step up, so I have to physically help her get in, but she can step into the Safe Step tub. She feels comfortable and enjoys the Safe Step tub when she's in it, and my daughter feels the same way. It has been a wonderful experience.

Their installation team was a little bit late because of traffic but that wasn't their fault and they were very friendly as well. They were also knowledgeable about the installation and the product. They put on the job very quickly and cleaned up after themselves. My favorite features are the microbubbles and my knees don't hurt as much now. It was an excellent experience overall and I'd recommend Safe Step and their product.

I have health issues and have a hard time getting in and out of my own standard bathtub. The Safe Step tub seemed more streamlined, easier to get in and out and they're a lot smaller than the other companies. Their rep came out and explained all the features and what was available. He offered to help me get it financed but I was disappointed what it wound up being financed for based on what he said he was going to have it financed for as far as monthly payment. It's $20 higher than what I had actually thought it was going to be.

The installers were very thorough, explained to me the features and showed me how to work it. After they installed the tub, they cleaned up pretty well. On the other hand, I did not know that I had to leave the water in it for 24 hours, so I didn't. When I set it out, it leaked on the floor. That was on a Saturday. However, they did not send a rep out until the following Wednesday to take a look at it. So, that was disappointing but they came out and found out why it was leaking and corrected it.

Part of my physical challenge is to be able to bend over and wash and clean my feet but the jets on my feet do a pretty good job and just really soaking in it. Also, I feel safer bathing now. It’s easier getting in and out although I am a little on the overweight size. I did not know that that was going to be a factor so, that was another surprise. On the other hand, I still don't know who the finance company is and I still have not received any documentation. They're expecting the payment the 1st of October. Also, I'm $12,000 in debt which I really shouldn't be. I probably would have put it off and not have done it. This way, I would've gone with a more standard shower with a seat.

The rep who came out and talked with us and from whom we bought the Safe Step tub from, was extremely nice. The guys that did the installation got the tub in in four hours and everything was cleaned up spotless and they were gone. Also, Doug, the head and store owner, was great about all of us coming to a decision and getting a price that we felt like we could afford. So, everything went great and I was really happy. I was ready to jump in it and they said I’ve got to wait because the caulking has to dry. I love the heated seat, the lights that you can change when they come on, and the bubbles. I look forward to getting in the tub and relaxing because of all its functions. It’s almost like going to the spa and I sit in it, turn my jets on, lay back and relax. At the time of life when I'd feel like I'd need something for safety or maybe something that would aid me with arthritis, this would be a great purchase.

The installers were very friendly and down to earth. They interacted with my dog and my grandkids and they did their job. We watched their video and, even though they said that the exercise there was for people with arthritis, my brother can get in the tub and exercise his legs. We just put the seat across the tub before and he was not really in the water. But now, we put him in the tub and fill the tub up, and he can do his exercise and turn the jets on. He's able to bathe himself and he enjoys it more because he can get into the water. Back then, you couldn't get him to take a bath and now he's been in the tub every night taking a bath. My 13 year old grandson also loves the tub because of the handheld shower, which he turns on, and it's just the right size for him.

While I was impressed with the salesman's ability, I feel the price was outlandish and there were no discounts given me at all. Further, after installation, I would need to hire a carpenter to finish the job by adding molding around their tub. Salesman claims their company has installers but no carpenters. I bought a tub from a company in Orlando. First things I had to do was get a bigger water heater, another $1000.00. Then it still didn't fill fast enough. I would sit there for at least 20 minutes (getting colder and colder), then in letting the water out I would have to sit longer as the drain is rather tiny. Cold again! The lights and aromas are rather useless unless you're in your twenties and it's a novelty that does nothing for an 80 year old. I have had it 10 years (I can't afford another one) and everyone has complained about it. So, now I have a leak. The door has a lifetime warranty, but the people in Orlando have gone out of business, and the central number they don't even want to talk to me. Last time I had a flood that went out into the living room. I think it is a very expensive novelty that the company does not stand behind.

We purchased tub late June 2017. Installed 7/27/17. Installers were courteous. In addition to installing tub they removed old double vanity and mirror and installed new vanity and mirror that we had out of the box and waiting for them per agreement with salesman. They arrived promptly at 7:30 and worked all day into the evening to finish the job. They cleaned up after themselves well.

Then we used the tub. First issue was that hot and cold water lines were switched, so that they were opposite of what installer demonstrated. Also the jet lever is backwards... What says foot jets is really back jets and vice versa. We can live with all that. Next issue was that tub would not fill because water just leaked down the drain... The stopper wasn't sealing. I called and was told to remove the stopper and adjust the screw in its underside until the drain stays shut. I did so and the tub could be filled. Thinking we were home free my husband tried the tub again. Now the problem is that you can't drain the tub without holding the lever open. When you switch the lever to drain, the stopper crashes down with a loud thunk. It is quite uncomfortable for my husband to lean forward and hold the lever in place to drain the tub.

I made calls on 8/3, 8/10, 8/16. Installer who lives 5 hours away has been back to the house twice and the problem is still not resolved. When he was here 8/16 the tub indeed filled and emptied as it should, but the very first time we used it after that we had the same issue of not draining unless lever is held. If this were an inexpensive item, I might be content to live with the inconvenience, but when you pay over $14,000 for a tub it is inexcusable that it does not work as it should. I distinctly remember the sales person making a big deal about how easy it was to drain the tub...how much better their system was than any competitor's tub. At this point, a simple stopper on a chain would be an improvement. So...again I will call today. The 4th time in the first month since installation. Not what we had hoped for or paid for.

They explained the operation to us.

The only negative that I see in the tub is the locking door handle. My wife was filling the tub and accidentally hit the locking handle with her leg & the door popped open and flooded the bathroom. The following day the same thing happen to me but I caught before flooding the bathroom. Looking at the locking handle it would be so easy to redesign it so it would actually have a mechanism that would lock it in the closed position. We both are going to be attentive to the handle to be sure it stays in the locked position.

This is the third time I have tried writing a negative review. Every time I go to post it wow the website goes down, so I will try again. I am in pain 24/7. I have had eight back surgeries so I thought this tub would give me some relaxation and good water therapy. Boy was I wrong. I had a walk in shower with a good shower stool did a wonderful job but I thought that walk in tub would be better (Safe Step walk-in tub). This is also what the sales person was trying to tell me. It's harder to get in the tub than my walk in shower was. I have to step up higher, I have to remember to go in and turn on the heater to the back and the seat at least 15 minutes prior to a bath, then I sit there for 17 minutes (yes I actually timed it) waiting for the water to fill the tub which only comes between my boobs and belly button.

I don't understand where people said it is relaxing if you turn on the air Jet bubbles. It is so loud it'll drive you insane 32 minutes before even being able to try and relax with even the waterjets. I could've been in and out of my walk in shower be all dried off and ready to go but no. I was told that this would be relaxing and be helpful to my bad back. What a lie. I am a semi large lady so I bought the biggest tub they had. I'm not as big as I've seen other people but it's hard to get in and out small door. I thought I would try to slide down where the water would come up higher on my body but the only way to do that was thoroughly slide my butt off the edge of the seat, it is not even comfortable to lean back.

They installed a shower pole for me to use. The shower popped off. I have been hit in the back and on the head now because it falls out of the holder. If there's any way that I can afford to replace it I would but the damn time cost a small fortune. I knew better than to listen to these friggin sales people. I hate the tub. I want my walk in shower back, 100% safer, I can get a lot cleaner again. I hate the tub. I hope this will let me post it this time. This is getting ridiculous.

Safe Step Walk-in Tubs offered what the other ones didn't. They had a certain price for the whole deal and theirs was a bare necessity and then I pay extra to add on. The salesman and the installers were great all. The only problem I had with them was we had it upstairs and then we have a finished basement underneath. The bathtub comes out into my laundry room and when they broke up the old bathtub they left all those particles under the ceiling. It's that ceiling we have in our garage where I can push up with the broom and certain squares come open.

When I do that I still get a lot of particles all around my washing machine and down in it if it happens to be open. They should have run a vacuum down in there to clean that out. I know that they couldn't get all of it but there's still a lot that comes out. Other than that, the mess was cleaned up good. They put a blanket sheet down when I went up there, trying to save all that but they should have cleaned that up a little more.

At first I hated the tub. I didn't like anything about it. I had to fill it all the way up. But now if I'm in a hurry, I'll just get in there and soap up and use the spray and it doesn't take as much of my time as I felt like I did at first because I wasn't thinking that I could do that. I've had the tub for about six months and I like it better now. I can get more relaxed in there. I have a lot of muscle and joint problems and once I sit in there for a while I feel it loosens them up. I can also move a little better. It's not a cure but it has helped.

However, we have a couple of tiny problems that I haven't called in about. There's a little flat silver thing on the side and when I turn on the micro bubble thing it spews out of there and I'm not sure if it's supposed to. Also, the thing to open and close the drain with wants to pop up and down sometimes. They're minor adjustments but I want to make sure they're corrected before other things get out of hand. Also, where the micro bubbles come out at the bottom, I'm not sure if there's supposed to be a cover on that thing instead of a hole.

I've seen Safe Step in the AARP magazine, and their name was supposedly better and they're made here so I got them. When I spoke to a sales representative, his product knowledge was good. He seemed to know his stuff pretty well. Also, the installers were courteous and did a good job. They cleaned up, and left it in pretty good shape. My tub doesn’t have an inline heater, but they replaced it with the micro burst feature. The tub has two settings. There's the one for the regular jets, and you’re supposed to use it for 10 to 15 minutes. And then use the micro-burst for 20 minutes to get the max effect out of it. It works pretty good, and I like it.

But I only get to use it about once a week as a bathtub because I work a lot. I had a massive leak the weekend before last, and it broke my ceiling downstairs. The ceiling was all stained and wet, and it was right below the tub. Any time I used the handheld shower, the leak was coming out all over at the back. We took the two panels off and let it dry out. And then the guy came out and I had my daughter there because I needed to go to work. From what she gathered, all he did was tighten up the braided hose that goes to the shower head up where it was connected behind the faucet and all up in that compartment. But if what she understood was right and it was just loose, it's odd because I’ve never seen a problem before. And the guy didn’t write anything about what he did on the repair order that he left me. But it’s not leaking anymore, and my ceiling is drying and getting better.

Also, I have a 50-gallon hot water heater and should have a 75 to 100-gallon to really use the tub without taking all the hot water and running out before I fill it. I’ve been playing with water temperatures. I turn the heater up way high and I’m trying that. But I might have to put a bigger hot water heater in. Safe Step should have been upfront about that. I don’t have a problem buying another hot water heater if I knew about it. But, otherwise, it seems to be performing fine. And if I had a friend who's gonna buy a walk in tub, I would recommend Safe Step.

That is vital because you're spending a lot of money and you don't do this easy.

Safe Step is very nice but there should be some laminated literature that you can keep by the tub. If they could give you a nice 10-page little book to put up with the tub with pictures to show you exactly what to do. But we have nothing like that. Before you buy the tub, they send you some information in an envelope, but it's not user-friendly. That would be a very good PR thing to do. Also, sometimes I don't think our seat is heating up perfectly, but the other day, it did. The tub has some nice attributes, although we had a challenge and we had to put it upstairs because we didn't have space in our downstairs bathroom and we sleep downstairs.

They should add an adjustable headrest at the back, like behind the car seat. That's the only thing lacking on that tub, as far as I can tell. However, it doesn't work unless I have the tub totally filled with water. It would be nice if I could use microbubbles if I only want to treat my legs. It is a costly investment but it is what it is.

My wife needed an easier way to get in and out of the bathtub because she's had both her knees replaced. I picked Safe Step because they looked good on TV. I reached out to them and it was great. Our representative was a local, and we had a great interaction. She lives about 20 miles from here, and she brought one of the tubs with her in her car and showed it to us. We had basically already decided we're going with that one. She was a capable lady and so we just went ahead and bought from her. I also liked the guy that put the tub in. He was very nice and professional. He was an ex-military man. I'm a retired military myself, so we connected. I had a couple of questions after he left and I called him. He called me right back and answered my questions. I was very happy with that. Now it is easier for my wife. I like that it drains fast and it's got all those spray nozzles in it. All in all, it's a very satisfactory situation.

Safe Step sounded like they were the more reputable bathtub companies. They brought a tub to demonstrate and show it, and it seemed like they were the way to go. So, we went with them, but I've had some second thoughts because it costs too much. As for the tub’s features, the jets and circulating water were all very good. But I don't understand why with modern technology, Safe Step cannot make water valves to combine so that one doesn’t have to adjust hot and cold water separately. They need to work on that. It was also a little bit frustrating with the installation team because they did not complete the job as I had expected them to. I asked them and they gave us answers that didn't turn out the way that I expected. Also, they found us a shower without including a shower curtain. With the price we paid, we should not have to pay extra money to get a shower curtain that would work with the tub.

I'm in a wheelchair and it's getting increasingly harder for me to get out of the bathtub. So, we got a Safe Step tub and its quality is better than others. Their sales rep was very cordial and nice. The installers explained everything to us and cleaned up after. I was amazed at how it was put in in one day. I like the ease of access to the tub. In addition, we live on a ranch and we work pretty hard. So, it's very wonderful to get in it at night. I also have 32 grandchildren and they love the tub too. We just had a big cattle sale and they took turns getting in there. The hydrotherapy got them very clean and I had to really clean the tub out after they were done. I would highly recommend Safe Step. However, I wish there was some way of turning the water on and getting it full and then getting in it, rather than sitting because it is cold to sit there and wait for the tub to fill up.

So, we purchased from Safe Steps Walk-In Tubs. Their rep was fantastic and good. During installation, the installers and I laughed and joked all day but they were professional. My wife got in the tub the first day and she's been using it to stop the pain on her knee for about two years now. She stays in it for about 45 minutes to an hour and whenever she gets out, it would be about three hours before she had to have any stuff for pain. It also helps me because I get in there too. So, we are well-pleased. I already recommended it to neighbors, friends, and family.

Now the shower handle is stuck & no one will call me back. I was told how hygienic it is because of use in hospitals. But now that is the same reason for no returns! I love my Safe Step tub and I've had it for about two months now. I broke my back once and had surgery twice. Six months after the first surgery, my spine curved 25%. They took my last rib and the muscle tightened up. I had it done but it took me three years to get back up. Twenty years later, I'm complaining to where I can't use my legs. I also now have problems with circulation in my back and my legs. I'm still experiencing some pain but the tub has really helped. I just don't like where the door latch is at because my knee keeps hitting it. I turned the jets on too fast and water flew right out of the tub and completely flooded the bathroom, and I've done it twice. Other than that, I like the jets and the micro bubbles in the bottom. I also love the heated seat. It's so comfortable. When I try to relax, I go all the way down and it feels so good with those jets.

We checked a couple of other bath tubs and a Safe Step Walk-in Tub seemed better. The salesperson was good and very friendly. He explained everything. The tub has been relieving stress. I like its hydro massage on the back and the foot. The only thing is the foot massager on the left toward the door is close to the edge. It's not fit in from the tub far enough. I can't get my foot around, back and forth. If I move it all the way over, I will hit the sidewall of the door. Other than, I'm enjoying it.

Also, we didn't realize that the tub would take so much water. But I don't mind. I'm gonna put a new water heater in. But until I fill that tub up, it pumps the water heater. There are those that just heat the water as people use it. That should take care of that problem. But it was plenty of hot water. I just pump it out in case somebody else wants to take a shower while I was in the tub.

We have been thinking getting a tub for some time and we are starting to look at different ones. And then, we saw this one on television and my husband said he want to try that one. So, we called Safe Step and we had them come out. The sales rep showed us all the features and everything about the tub. He was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions like where the tubs were made and all the materials that they use. He was very upbeat and we ended up messing with him for at least a couple of hours. And then, we decided that was the one that we like to get.

My husband was amazed on how well they got here and they went right to work. We could tell they really knew what they were doing. It took a good part of the day but they got it. We're really impressed with their workmanship. We had a Jacuzzi tub before and it has jets so we really liked that feature. Also, the Jacuzzi tub was deep and we had some problems with our legs, due to old age, so just to be able to walk in and out of the Safe Step Walk-in Tub really made a big difference. We've also been able to really relax. Both of us just felt like it's so much better after we had a bath. I like that it has a light and the water changes colors. There's blue, yellow and red and all those kind of things. It also has a headrest so you can just lean back and relax. Other people said, "Oh boy, I thought of maybe trying one of those out." So, everybody has been impressed with it.

The sales professional of Safe Step was very nice that's why I bought. However, I didn't even check on anybody else, which was a mistake because I didn't compare prices and I think I paid too much. Also, I have to clean after the installer. He left a bit of a mess in my basement when they had to go down there. The other day, when I sat in the tub and turned on the jets on my back, when I got out, the side panel was loose. I had it squirting on my back and the panel protruded out. I got to push it back in, but I suppose it'll happen the next time I use it. So, I'm not happy with it.

Also, I have to sit in there and let it fill up but it takes so long. And when I get through, I have to sit there and let it drain and my back gets cool. That's normal but I don't like to sit there so long. Also, when I want to drain it, the bar that holds up the outlet keeps falling back in place and so I have to sit there and hold it. I have to hold it open or it would take even longer to drain. However, it's easier to get in and out of their tub because before I had to step over into the tub and then sit on a stool and shower. I don't shower, but I have a nice bath. I enjoy that.

And then when he showed us what their tub did against what the others could do, we were very happy with it instead of the others. The microbubbles are my favorite. That's the main reason we got it. The installation also went well. And the main thing I noticed since installing the device is it makes my skin soft. I fell the day they put the tub in and had a humongous bruise on my knee. I started using the tub when I could use it the next day and the bruise went away fairly quickly. It was gone within a week or two and didn't take as long as I thought it would.

One of the factors that we chose Safe Step was the fact that the frame is built into the tub so if the house shifts, it won't shift. However, the sales guy lied to us about several things. He said they would have the install done in a week but it didn't get done. We were trying to get it done before my father-in-law came home from rehab. He also recommended not putting the water regulator on. We got to check with the company and they said it should have been installed - that it was done automatically on all the tubs, no matter what.

But our install crew, a father and son, was wonderful. We couldn't ask for better. They went the extra step instead of just slapping the end cap plastic piece on. They built a wall and it's beautiful. It's nice and sturdy. If my father-in-law goes and loses balance, he'd grab that wall to keep him from falling. I love the fact that the tub has all the safety features, all the grab handles. Having the tub makes things a lot easier than having to get my father-in-law in and out the regular shower.

We've already recommended Safe Step to a bunch of people. I do have one recommendation for Safe Step though. They need to figure out a way to make sure the door can lock instead of being able to open it where there's still water in it for someone who's got Dementia or Alzheimer's and accidentally forgetting and opening it and having water flood. We've had an incident here. And then we've got a friend who's got one. She went to get her wash rag, opened the door, and the water flooded down into her basement. Luckily, they got it dried quick enough that it didn't hurt the hardwood floor.

I was told that they could save the tub I had but then when they got here, they told me they couldn't. But then the installation was very quick and professional. However, they had to take a large part of my door down and I thought they should have sanded it and put it back as it was but they didn't. They put it back but I could tell where they had taken it down.

Also, they told me that the installer was going to handle everything and that my tub would be leveled. But when they got here, they told me it wouldn't be level unless they put a piece under it. They also charged me for that piece which was just a part of a plywood and besides the check I had, I had to make a check out to him, which I didn't like. Moreover, I thought I would be using it more than I'm using it now but I did not take into consideration the time for it to fill up. It takes a while to fill it up and when I'm in a hurry, that's wasted time.

The best thing about the tub is when I get the water in and I squat there into the bottom, I let the water run around my shoulder. The water is warm so that feels good.

But right now, I'm not very happy with my Safe Step Walk-in Tubs. I was sitting in the tub trying to clean it and some way I hit the handle and the next thing was water is running out everywhere. And later when we had the cleaning girls went they found a leak back up somewhere in the pump, right at the head of the tub. So we called about that and they said they couldn't come 'til two days. I can't use the tub and my husband needs to turn the water off for two days. But they came and fixed that. After that, it has been fine. However, I'm afraid now when I get in it and try to clear it because the water runs out. I don't want to leave it and drain it when I get out. Overall, I'm satisfied with the tub.

Safe Step’s price came a little lower than the other companies I looked at. The sales team was okay and the installation team did a professional job of making sure that it was drawn in on a spot. They made sure it looked well and I’m grateful for that. I use the tub to help relax me and help with my herniated disc in my back. I try to enjoy it with jets and the colorful changes in the water. The only thing I'm disappointed in is that the water level is not high enough for my body. On the television, the lady laying in it has it covering her body pretty much up towards the neck and mine don't get that far. It stops to the breast but it but doesn't cover my chest even if I sink down more uncomfortably like sliding down.

The water also spills out from the jets when I turn them on. So the seat needs to be a little lower than the jet. I've been in it several times and I'm getting a little better adjusting with the tub. But even though I heat the seat, by the time the water gets to the jet level, I'd run out of hot water. So I have to sit and wait to get more hot water in the tub. I would recommend it to someone but I would tell them my points of what I see that I don't like.

We had removed a large garden tub and originally talked about putting it in the same way to reduce cost on the flooring. We were looking for something that would be a little safer for my husband because his mobility is limited. Safe Step did a beautiful job installing the tub. It's a nice tub and cleans up really nice. But we wish that we didn't had all of those bells and whistles because he hasn’t used them. They’re too challenging and intimidating for him. It’s too much for a person who has any kind of dementia because they’re afraid of it. If you’re going to recommend it to a person under those circumstances, it should be more simple. I would’ve just gotten the seat warmer and the MicroSoothe. And I would've purchased a more stripped down model for him because he’s only gonna shower in it. So far, he’s taken one bath and it was very scary for him.

Also, the hot and cold water aren’t marked on the tub for an older person to see it. And it's difficult making that adjustment with those handles that they have on the tub because you have to keep playing with it. There should be something simple for those handles. Also, in order to get out of the tub, you have to open up the door and it goes right in front of the grab bar and you can hardly get at it. So we have another grab bar on the wall which works. The tub works and functions great, but it’s not good for really old people.

The way that they found us and contacted us was an interesting marketing. I was searching the internet for walk-in tubs and I got a pop-up that said, “Check prices on walk-in tubs”. I entered my information in a form and all of a sudden I have a call from Safe Step Walk-In Tubs. They called within 30 seconds of me filling that out. The sales guy came out and he was pretty persuasive. I kidded him when he came in and told him if he brought a sample, and he did. He brought it out of the truck so we could sit in it and see if it was comfortable. He was very knowledgeable. He looked at what our system was for hot water.

Then the key to the tub was the installation. The guys that came on was a licensed electrician. We had two 40 gallon tanks that go together. One feeds into the other. But then we need a huge water tank in order to fill these tubs as it holds 110 gallons. They asked that so we have enough water. We bought the larger one which was a couple of inches wider. The installers had to change electrical then there were all kinds of things that went on installing these tubs. They had to take off molding and they were phenomenal. They did an outstanding job and cleaned up after themselves. It worked out very well.

I like the fact that I can walk in the tub. I also like the water therapy part of it and that the door swings to the inside. The installers had a hard time with where the door would’ve swung to the outside because of the existing configuration of the bathroom counter and the stool thing. I did some purple and some turquoise with the room and made it look spa-like. It looks better than I thought it would.

We’re hardly using it, and we’re not quite ready for it. We use it when we’re through riding our bikes. It was something that we looked at versus putting in a hot tub, which we absolutely did not want to do. We had a good space for it and we’re 70, and we hope to stay in this house at least another 10 years so it will be nice. The only thing that they can do is not put their logo on the tub so large. It’s in a crest, but it doesn't hurt anything. It's pricey, but it’s an investment one can make. I'm a satisfied customer and it was a good experience.

My wife had fallen out of the soaking tub that we had in our master bedroom bath so I decided we weren't going to do that again. I was looking and saw Safe Step Walk-in Tubs’ ad in a magazine and had the people come out and demonstrate it then bought it. The sales representative was very good. The video demonstration that he put on was very helpful and informative. They did exactly what they said they were going to do. They came out and in one day, had it installed and ready to go, and I'm very happy with it. Installation was great. They demonstrated it and everything was working well. They were here for four hours. But when they left, everything was cleaned up. I like the iteration and the bubbles. I guess that’s what the wife likes too. With the little bit of time we used it, we did like it. We were very happy with it.

We were considering getting a walk-in tub and my husband’s son mentioned Safe Step. Then I looked at TV ads and I had two there in mind, the American Standard and Safe Step. I called Safe Step first and then they came right away to the house, showed us all about it and gave us all the information. The ones that came to the house were wonderful. The team that did the install removed our old tub, then installed the new one and they took everything away. They were very clean and efficient, so we were very happy about that part. My husband and I have been using it a couple of times a week and my favorite feature are the jets. We’re very satisfied with it and we talk to our friends about it. They find it quite pricey.

I liked the features of the Safe Step walk-in tub and they gave AARP members $2,000 off on it at that time. Also, the Safe Step sales reps gave us a hardship discount because of all the things that were wrong with us. Everyone that I spoke to gave solid information and the guys who put it in did a great job. They cleaned up every bit of scrap and took it off with the bathtub. We don't find many people that will do that. It was also a plus that they could speak English, unlike those who set up our mattress who we had trouble with. We're enjoying the tub and I like everything about it. I like the massager for my feet because I'm 78 and I have problems with my feet and back. I would recommend it.

I got a Safe Step Walk-in tub because I can't get up in our old bathtub. The sales representative was wonderful and nice, explained everything to us, and took time. The installation went wonderful and the installer didn't take very much time. They got in, did the job and got out. I like being able to sit down and get my whole body down in the tub and wash and being able to get out. Also, I like the jet and the micro-bubbles as they're helping my legs since my left leg has edema in it from losing my Lymph nodes from cancer. I also got red from the edema and it's calming down. The tub is wonderful and I'm thrilled to have it.

They did a good job installing the tub. It looks nice, but it doesn't serve its purpose. It will wash your back, even your lower bottom, but that's about it. It's a walk-in tub but I can't get around too good. A walk-in shower with a sprayer would have done just the same job. I have a problem getting in the door because it's too small. I'm not real happy with it because it's not even big enough for me to get inside of it. I weigh about 246 pounds and that tub is really small for a guy that size. Also, to get the water up on my shoulders, I'd have to have the tub running over because there's no room to sit down on it deeper. I paid $11,000 for it and all they wanted to do was make money. They were trying to push to sell it and didn't even tell me about the different sizes.

We interviewed three different companies and the other two companies were interested in talking about us and the Safe Step salesman was interested in talking about the tub. He was very specific on everything and he was a good salesman. He spent four hours with us and 90% of the time he was talking about the riches of the tub and how well it's manufactured. The installation team was a really good and very professional crew. They did their job and told us what they were doing. We love the shelf that they built around it for us because we have a bigger area. We love being able to just walk into it instead of climbing into a bathtub and then we have to climb out.

My husband uses the tub almost nightly. He's been hit with arthritis really bad all over his body and it really gives him relief and he can sleep. I, unfortunately, have a really bad back and neck. I love to get all the way down into the water but I pay for it with my neck. So, I'm not getting the benefits that he gets but I enjoy the overall experience. I also enjoy the jets. I just wish I can cringe down better. Also, the heater that's supposed to keep the water warm doesn't. My husband likes to have a really hot one, so he likes the 104. But it won't hold the 104, it goes down to 98. I don't like it real hot, so I start out at 100 and even with the heater going the whole time, I end up at 94. It doesn't maintain the water temp like we had hoped. But otherwise, it's a wonderful tub. We have been very happy with it.

My mother has Alzheimer's and is going to be 93 in a couple of months. At that point in her progression of the disease she was still able to get into the shower. And then she just wouldn't do it at all because she had kept falling and we didn't know that. I've been hearing about Safe Step Walk-in Tubs for years. We bought from them because it's American made and my mother loves it. She loves to get down and immerse in it and be able to wash. It's just soothing and filling for her. She's not afraid to get in it and that she's going to fall. It's amazing. I am not having any trouble getting her in the tub now so it's great.

The sales rep absolutely knew her business. She was great at every question, Johnny on the spot, knew the answer. She drew diagrams and even had a bathtub in her van that we can see and get in. So we got my mother up into that van and she got in that tub. The installation team was also great. They did everything just up to par. They put in an extra grab bar for us that my mother wanted to have. They couldn't put it on the tub but they put it near the tub.

When one turns on the micro bubble things, it debrides the tissue and gets all that every bit. It gets the scum because it does its job. My mother said she didn’t know she was that dirty. It also drains quicken than one would think. We just got our systems down of how long it takes and get the room real hot for her in there with some space heaters before we get her in there to get into the tub. It's absolutely wonderful. It's one of the best investments that we've ever made.

I've seen Safe Step Walk-in Tubs in the AARP magazine and I wanted all the features including the door seals and no leak. I also have a lot of health issues and Safe Step seemed like everything that my husband and I needed. The sales representative was very informative and also brought a sample out in advance. We actually got to walk out there and see it, sit in it, and she told us everything about it. She was very upfront and honest with us and even went in and told us what gallon of water we had. The installation team was on time, very courteous, professional and super nice. They made sure they didn't mess up anything, did everything in a timely manner, and did a super job. They were super neat and cleaned up every little thing such that one never knew they were there.

My favorite feature of the tub is the mini bubbles and the jet. It's like a little spa. We have disabilities where we couldn't lift our feet very high and I have a lot of problems with my legs on the outside. The tub helps to relax better and we really needed that because we're getting slow and we can't stand up good. We feel safe and I don't have to worry so much about falling and breaking something. It also helps us to go to sleep and pretty much exfoliates all the dead skin. Everything was awesome. The only problem is that our hot water heater is a 40-gallon and the water only comes up to the seat, but there ain't anything anyone can do about that. The sales rep made us aware of that and its allowance in advance, and that it wasn't gonna be enough. At any rate, I've told everybody about Safe Step. It was great and I would do it again.

I was having cramps in my calf and legs and now I haven't had any since I started using the tub with those jets. I have arthritic feet and I think it helps my feet too. Then the installers said they were gonna send me a little more information or some papers and the stuff that they put in the water to make it smell good but they never did that. The guy that I bought the tub from came by and left me little bottles of stuff. I was looking for something that I could put down in a certain place in the tub and it didn’t come. Then the caulking has come loose and the back of the tub has pulled up a little bit about seven inches where it's at on the wall.

My relative has a Safe Step Walk-in tub and I purchased from them too. I had a couple of appointments with another company, but they did not follow through on it. Safe Step was much more receptive in terms of returning the call and setting up an appointment. Their sales rep was very nice, very cordial, and knowledgeable. His responses to our questions were on point and adequate as to what we were asking. He worked with us on pricing and he also followed through on everything that he said he would do. The installers were fine too and one of them explained what they were doing, called us in between steps as to what they were doing and how they were going to go about doing it, and they cleaned up as well.

So far, I've only gotten in the tub one time but my husband's been in it several times. He has issues with is back and that was one of the reasons why we went ahead with the walk-in one 'cause we had the garden tub. My husband likes the microbubbles and the jets and that massage-type therapy. He still takes showers, but he feels better sitting down and being able to get in and out of that tub. The tub has made a difference in terms of accessibility and being able to go into the tub without stepping the higher step. The heating seat is good too so we're satisfied.

I really wish, however, that I would have reset the tub a little further back as that would have given a little bit of more privacy when you enter the bathroom. This would have meant a wider shelf in the back or the side of the tub. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend Safe Step and I have spoken to a couple people. They asked me and I suggested to them to call when they feel they want to go that route.

He said he and his partner would be in and out in one day with old shower out and new tub in, that included removing a small wall, and they were... All done by 5:00. They left everything clean and as they had found it. Plus the big bonus is the tub itself. We ordered the larger of the two and it accommodates us perfectly. I was concerned about losing our shower but need not have been. They attached a holder for the handheld shower wand. We attached a track shower curtain rod. I now have a perfect shower whenever I want and it has plenty of room. By replacing a walk-in shower we actually opened the room up and it feels roomier. Not to forget that the whirlpool tub itself is glorious.

My husband had changed all the steps getting in and out of our house so that I could manage them. Now the steps were no more than seven inches. But it was even getting to the point where I couldn’t make that, so I knew I had to have a really low threshold. I then started researching walk-in tubs, reading and watching every ad. When I saw an ad for Safe Step, I liked the fact that their tub had such a low threshold, because some of what other companies offer are really high, and I knew that I would not be able to get into it any better than I could get in a regular bath tub. Safe Step's was the lowest one I could find. So I called their number, and the representative who came explained everything so thoroughly, answered every question we had, and really was super informative. We then decided to get the tub.

The installer was nice, too. He didn't mind me peeking around the corner every once in awhile to see what was going on and explained everything thoroughly as to how it worked. He answered any question we had. He also made sure I could reach the handrails and grab-holds like it was made for me. This is ideal because I have trouble with my balance.

My whole family’s in love with the tub and they’re all waiting for their chance to come in and use it. My youngest daughter who is really crafty likes to decorate things so my bathroom has become a spa. This is so handy because it's in the house, unlike the spa that we had before which was outside. I could get up in the middle of the night if I want to and get in it. Also, my husband would not get in the spa, but he's getting in the tub. It’s really nice and I really enjoy the time I spend in there.

I have arthritis in just about every joint of my body and my entire spine. I initially wasn't going to buy the tub because our budget is rather tight. But I was convinced that I absolutely needed it and it was worth the investment.

The installation took longer than they thought because they had to find a way to get the wire up to the tub. But other than that, it went rather smooth. All three guys that were here were very courteous and polite and explained the tub features to me. I've known about Safe Step for an awful long time. But I've had a lot of troubles with my back in recent months and that's when I sort of got interested in it. The installation team was great and I'm satisfied with the tub. It's beautiful, I enjoy it and it's made a lot of difference to me. Now I don't have to break my back taking a bath or shower. It's comfortable and when I have a bath there are less aches and pains. It didn't make the rest of them go away.

The only thing that bothered me about the whole thing afterwards was when I called and they didn't come to me. I came to them about the tub and they told me that they would quote me a price and it would be good for a year but that was only partially true. They did quote me a price which was pretty outrageous then they offered me all these discounts, but those discounts were not good like the original price was. And part of their sales pitch was "we don't put a lot of pressure on you to buy" but that's not true because there was a lot of pressure involved when they told me that there's about $6,000 worth of incentives that were only good if I bought it that same day. I had a little bit of nasty taste in my mouth because that reeks of deceptive advertisement.

I understand the business aspect of it and I didn't mind it provided they gave it to me upfront. It wouldn't have been a big deal and I would have still bought the tub anyhow if the price would have been good. It's just that I was making a $13,000 decision in one day and in a couple of hours, even less than that. Whereas I might have changed my mind on how I paid for it. I had the cash and I needed to do some figuring on where I was going to spend my money but rather than having the time to figure that out, I was sort of pressured into buying it that day so the easy way to do that was financing and I'm sorry I did.

They charged the card for the amount I would have owed them, again without my knowledge. It wasn't till 2 weeks later the credit card arrived. I called the bank and they told me they were going to open a fraud investigation. It has been 3 weeks since I canceled my order and they never reversed any charges they put on this card. Safe Step is made in the USA and their corporate office is in Nashville that's why I bought from them. Our tub was installed the first part of December. In one day, the installers brought the tub in and installed it after they took my old Jacuzzi tub out. They had to reroute my plumbing to get it in the position that it needed to be for my husband because he had a stroke and his strong side is on his right so they had to reverse the plumbing. The installers were professional and cleaned up after themselves. They did a very neat job and I was happy with the installation.

Our tub is very attractive and different people who were here talked about how they were impressed with it because you don't see too many of those in homes. It was pricey, though, and I was surprised about that. But it had everything on it that we wanted and I was impressed. The only thing negative is if you have a door on it, you have to get in before you run the water and let the water run out before you come out. I'm used to running the water and then getting in it. But I bought the tub so it would be easier to get in and out of.

The only way we take a bath now is through the Safe Step tub. My husband can't take a bath any other way. The tub is perfect that we can take a bath or a shower whichever we need to. It's therapeutic too with the kind of jets. However, I used the shower wand on my husband and the first time after I used it and put back in the hole, it got tangled under around some pipes and wouldn't come out. I called Safe Step on Monday and someone came a few days after. The technician looked under, got it untangled and rerouted the hose so that it wouldn't get hung up again.

It has what they call microbubbles which has negatively charged ions and when women put these creams on it's supposed to remove the outer layer of the skin with obviously a chemical process. I like the bubbles and so forth but they weren't as hard as I was hoping. I wish they were harder and the force from the jets are stronger. Since I used the tub, there's a little bit more spry in me. Nonetheless, I would be happy to help promote Safe Step.

I found it difficult to get in a tub after my back surgery. My husband researched the Safe Step Walk-in Tub on the computer and it seemed to be the best one on the market according to the ratings. It was a little pricey but it fit all the criteria for us and I didn't want to go with something inferior. It's there forever too. I called their toll-free number and the lady who came to see us was perfectly great. She did a super good job of explaining everything about the tub and we negotiated some on the price in making the final decision. I was pleased with the rep and we had a good visit.

The installers were great too and the installation went smoothly. I was also involved with most of what they were doing. They installed one of those switches for when the power was to get cut off for some reason and they let me choose where to put it. They went over everything after they did the installation and they cleaned up everything. When they left, my bathroom looked better than when they came, but I had to wait a day for everything to set up. Also, the first time I used the tub, I didn’t completely lock the door. My husband came in and he said there was water on the floor. He then reached over and locked the door.

My surgery was very severe and cut through a bunch of nerves in my back that are trying to regenerate. I also have something like neuropathy that people who have diabetes have and I have pain in my legs and burning feet. When I go to bed and everything gets quiet, I feel everything. But I was in the tub last night and I didn't have that feeling. It was wonderful. That was due to the jets, the massaging, and the warm water. It's a great experience.

The feature that I like is you have to sit in there for the water to come in and it's nice that as long as you sit there, the water stays warm, which I love. But if you fill up one of those other jet tubs, by the time you get that much water and you get in it, the water would start cooling off within five minutes. With my tub, you can lounge in there for half an hour. It wouldn't be very practical if you didn't do that. This uses a lot of water, though, and as a conservative person, this bugs me a little bit and I use it once a week. I have to pick and choose my time because it's a while that I get a sit there and enjoy as it fills up. I have to carve out about 45 minutes for a bath, which is okay for a retired lady like me. It's fitting me and my life. It's very relaxing as I listen to ebooks and tapes. But for someone who has less time, it might not be okay.

I wish, though, that I could put my husband in it when I get done. But that's not possible because you have to drain then open the door for another person to get in. The tub is big enough for the both of us and I teased my husband to get in with me the first night I got in there. But he told me that he would have to climb up on a stool to get in. I wish there was a way you could do that and let two people enjoy it. A kid might be able to climb up and get in but an adult male is not going to. It's a nice addition to our bathroom. It's attractive and it works well. I'm happy that we got it and I would recommend it.

My husband can't walk and is in a lot of pain and undergoes neuropathy and I wanted to see if Safe Step's tub would help him. I've seen the advertisement and my husband and I felt that he could benefit from it atleast. The sales representative was very nice, informative and went out of his way to try to help us, which I appreciated very much. Installation went fine except that they busted my light in the bathroom. I understand they were working on the wall and floor but I just regret that they didn’t tell me about these. They had to do a lot of extra work installing it and I appreciate that. It took them a lot longer than what I felt, but they got it done and at least they did the best they could. I like all the features of my tub. We use the micro soft and I use the shower quite a bit myself, but we've enjoyed it. When we use the tub, it makes us feel a lot better and reinvigorated.

The representative of Safe Step was a very experienced person. He was very precise in his presentation and well prepared, too. He convinced me to buy one and I like that Safe Step is made in the United States. I also like that Safe Step has a lifetime warranty. The guys who installed the tub were excellent people and I even invited them to have lunch with me because they were very efficient and the job was done about 5:00 pm.

I needed the tub because my wife has Alzheimer’s and dementia and I have to take care of her and bathe her. She gets easily into the tub however, it would be better to have a tank of 74 gallons because if I have done for example washing my clothes before I get into the tub, the water is not hot enough. I figured out that I have to put the water heater on full to have enough hot water.

It's an excellent product and my most favorite feature is the foot massage. However, there are two minor changes I would suggest. First, my wife tried to open the tub from the inside. So I think it would be very important to have a second device on the outside to secure 50 gallons of water from going out of the tub. And second, I noticed when I'm sitting in the tub and I have to reach the soap, I have to get up. It would be nice to have a device where we have our hand soap so we can reach it easily. But I'm very happy and everything is working fine. It is an expensive investment, but I could have maybe installed a walk-in tub for $3,000 less but then it's made in China and I don’t have the warranties and nobody is responsible.

I hadn't received my retirement money so we put my purchase on hold. I told him I would get back with him and he had no problem with that. On the other hand, the installation team was very nice. The gentleman almost went through my floor because when you have a bathtub done, you don’t know that the floor is not any good when they take them out. But they fixed it and it's as good as new and they showed me how to work it. I've used the tub a couple of times. A lot of times, I'll just take the shower. When I've done a lot of work bending over and my back hurts, then that's when I usually go in there and use it. I've enjoyed it and I like the lights and the jets.

Safe Step is a good and reliable company. There are other companies out there but they could never give me estimates. The sales rep of Safe Step was also good. I like the tub, especially when we're going to put a lot of water in it and when it's spraying on my legs and back. It's also a much easier and safer thing to get into, and this tub has been good for my wife, as well. The only disadvantage I see in it is it takes a lot of water to fill it up and our hot water pressure is low, so it takes longer to take baths but that doesn’t bother me too much.

My dad who's an elderly person thought it was a great idea to get a Safe Step bathtub so we had them come out. The rep was wonderful, told us everything we needed to know and gave us all the options that were available. The installers who came out did a great job but since that time, both mom and dad have had buyers' remorse a little bit. They're not real happy with the function of the product but not the product itself. The fact that my dad can't stand there and take a shower like he used to downstairs is a little discomforting. And my mom actually hasn't even used it yet which is disconcerting to me.

I've let the rep know and he responded in a very timely fashion about what options are available, what we can do and how we can do it. So now I'm trying to get my parents to get the heated seat, the jets and spend their money on what they're happy with. And if there's a way to rig a shower curtain so that my dad can fit/stand while showering they should do it too. I know there's a fixed mount on the top of the tub that makes it very convenient to use while he's sitting but I don't know if they mounted a bracket so that he could technically stand up in the thing, leave the drain up and take a shower because it's what my dad would like to have done. So at this point, we're still in the process of moving forward with this.

I went to visit my mom in her retirement home and she had an arthritis magazine where there was an advertisement about Safe Step Walk-in Tubs. I told her I would check it out and so I called Safe-Step and got some more information. The sales rep was very professional and courteous. When the installers came, they were top notch and told me what they were going to be doing and how it's coming along. Came in here with a vacuum cleaner and they went all out. I can see whoever hired them for the company, they got some good people there.

I'm very happy with everything about the tub. The jets won't crush your back and you can switch them to your legs and feet. They also have something that gives the water a milky color but afterwards my skin is so soft. And it definitely helps the aches and pains. With tubs, you don’t want to be in there too long and come out looking like a prune or a raisin, but after 20 minutes in this tub and having the jet-like jacuzzi type action going on, my stress melts away. This item is a good investment. The lifetime guarantee on it is unbelievable. If I have any problems, I just have to call a number and somebody will show up and fix it. I chose Safe Step tubs for the fact that it's made in America and it's an American company. They stand behind their product, so it's pretty good. I’d recommend them to anybody.

My health is dwindling and I have fallen several times. And once I got a good-sized goose egg when I landed on the head. When I saw Safe Step tub from an infomercial kind of thing one day I said to my husband that it's something we have to have. The person who showed us how to use the thing was a wonderful person to be with. Then we wanted to get something for my husband too because he's quite a bit larger than me and they were willing to help us to do that. Everybody gave us a really good experience with everything.

The bathtub is a great thing and I'm very grateful that we went for it. I've taken five and I like them. I'm a little confused still about some of the things and mostly, my husband needs to be able to be at home when I'm getting a bath. I have gotten in one on my own several times but it's a matter of remembering what I've got to do and in what order. I also use the jets and I have tried to use the handheld thing but I can't get it to work. It just goes back and forth constantly because that's the way it's made and I don't know why I can't get them to work with me and my brain. I'm kind of learning from the person who wants to teach me how to use a computer but anyhow, it's a matter of what I've learned and what I have done on my own. The tub is quite a nice thing and it gets me really clean for the first time. Also, I want to encourage people to do it.

I already owned a bathtub in my house in West Virginia but this Safe Step is better. I went with Safe Step because of the framework that was underneath it, how stable it was, and the way it was built. It is larger and when I fill it with water, I almost float around. My favorite feature is the warming seat. I am definitely more relaxed because previously, I was stumbling and falling in the tub/shower combination. My other tub was unusually high and I'm 72. I had a hard time getting out and I almost fell several times.

The installation team was wonderful and the sales rep was knowledgeable. The only thing is that on the first day, I had to leave it filled for 24 hours. I got in, took a bath, filled it up again and it worked fine. Now, there is trouble in the drain, it won't hold water. The rep said that he will contact me and come in to take pictures of it, and I'm patiently waiting.

Also, the installation crew was great.

I like the microbubbles feature of the tub as well as the jets. And we really needed the walk-in feature. Right now, we're still in a learning curve and we're still having incidents. I flooded the bathroom yesterday. We feel like that it takes so much time to actually benefit from the jets that most of the time we don't feel like we have that time to spend. All in all, it's well done and it's very professional. However, I feel like their sales rep made a couple of statements after the tub was installed and we got the written information. One statement in the written information diametrically opposed what he said. I emailed him about it and got no response. I would have liked to receive a follow up from them sooner. I have a couple of issues that I need to address with someone and I'm not sure how to do that.

A Safe Step salesman came in our house and explained their program. He showed us a video of how everything works, what we can do to the walk-in bathtub, and talked to us about aromatherapy and the different types of oils we can put in it. He was a great salesman and he really sold me. My wife and I were torn whether or not we wanted to get it because of the price, but he was able to work out some deals since I'm a disabled veteran. They also have a lifetime warranty on it and they're here in San Antonio so it's not a problem getting someone to come in and do some type of maintenance if needed. Then, one of the installation guys came in the morning while his partner came in at about mid-noon and it took them about six hours to complete the job. They cleaned up, showed me exactly how to work all the knobs and controls, and filled it up with water to make sure that it was tight and no leaks.

I used the tub within the next three days and my favorite features are the jets and the aromatherapy. I have rheumatoid arthritis, so the jets do good on my joints and my muscles. I like to soak. Once I used it when I was fairly tired, I slept good through the night. So if I get in the tub, I can't go anywhere the next morning because I'm so relaxed it's hard for me to get up. My wife also likes the little air bubbles that it produces. I'm in a new neighborhood, so I'll be recommending Safe Step as an option instead of a tub to some of my new neighbors who are moving in, especially to some older couples. The experience was great and seamless. The time frame was great and only took less than 3 weeks from the time the sales guy came out and showed me the product to the time that it was installed.

Our Safe Step Walk-in Tub had everything we were looking for. We were interested in it and got a very reasonable price. Mike helped us understand the different prices that different ones were going for. Then he had his tub with him in the vehicle, so we got to experience that. He wasn't pushy. The installation team put plastic down on my floor and cleaned up after themselves when they left. We love the tub's microbubbles and the jets. It also has aromatherapy and a handheld water sprayer for showering. It's great therapy.

There are two things about the tub that we're gonna have to deal with. One is with the 50-gallon tank, we don't get the tub full and have to sit in it and wait for 20 to 30 minutes before we can add more water. I have to put in an as needed hot water system because that’s what it will take to make the tub work correctly. The other thing is because we can’t fill the tub up, we can’t use the back jets and just use the bottom jets. If we turn the back jets, it just splatters water all over the bathroom. The two top jets can only be used if the tub is full of water and have to be under water. So, I wish that the top jets were just either not there or lower. But other than those two things, we would do it again. Those two factors would not keep us from getting the tub.
