I found Re-Bath in a trailer-showroom, which was parked at a Home Depot. A salesman came to my house. On that day I hired them to install a shower. The first issue is the accident. The second issue is the quality of work. The accident: The plumber working for Re-Bath finished his work. He left the property, failing to return the crawl space access cover to its correct position. The contractor working for Re-Bath broke a work light bulb in the bathroom. He asked me for a replacement bulb. When I stepped into the hall closet, my right leg stepped off into the thin air of the crawl space opening. My left leg bent at the knee under my weight and folded up to my rear end. As I fell, my 230-pound body was forced to the right. The edge of the crawl space access caught my right side, cracking a rib. My upper torso caved-in the wall.

I told the contractor to leave. I drove to the veteran's hospital emergency room for care. The VA healthcare was the only health care I could afford (free to me because I am 70% disabled, service connected). Therein began better than a week of agonizing pain of my side. It was torturous to even lower and raise myself to and from the toilet. There are no safety handrails in a private home. After two years, my knee continues to be painful, but my side stopped killing me nearly two years ago. Re-Bath soon began asking for their final payment. When I told the young people calling me that I had to wait to look at the job because I was in great pain and taking drugs for pain due to the fall, they laughed at me. Yes, laughed. What was wrong with the male and female callers? Later, Re-Bath sent a demand letter for payment. I had no ethical choice but to pay them.

The VA appears to be over burdened with Veterans of baby-boomer age and young people returning from armed conflict. The VA sent me to physical therapy and issued more pain relievers. At physical therapy they said there was nothing they could do but that I could "rub it like **". With knee pain persisting, they took x-rays and an MRI. An outside consulting firm reported to the VA that there was something torn in my kneecap and something "clipped". In rebuttal, the VA physician’s assistant in orthopedics ruled that the x-ray showed no damage. The physician’s assistant refused to order a second MRI. The VA's x-ray showed that a rib had been cracked and had healed.

Two years later, I sought private treatment for my knee when becoming eligible for Medicare at age 64. A wonderful primary care doctor sent me to a wonderful orthopedic surgeon, the first real doctors seen for my knee. The orthopedic surgeon sent me to physical therapy for several weeks, three times per week. That wonderful care has helped strengthen my knee. As my therapist said, the strengthening will make me more comfortable. It has but pain remains. My limp is 95% less though pain is virtually a constant companion if I walk fast.

I talked with an attorney after the accident. He told me what my doctor would have to have documented were he to file suit. I explained that I was never seen by a real VA doctor and couldn't afford to pay for a private doctor. I told the lawyer that the VA was done with me. The two-year window of filing suit recently closed. With no chance of obtaining satisfaction through legal recourse, Re-Bath has left me with a painful knee and has done no more than laugh at my misfortune, which is a direct result of their negligence.

Yes, I'm old fashioned and an old man or a person in the last quarter of his life, but where human decency and integrity are absent, a void is filled with indignation at any age. Indignation shares this life with pain. The second issue is one of color matching, which Re-Bath was not informed of. I saved up for this job and paid a pretty penny for it. I paid extra for a matching soap and bottle holder for the shower corner. I was in so much pain for so long that I didn't care to really look at it. In fact, for several months I used a second shower. I couldn't enter the bathroom. The job represented lowly human behavior.

The color difference between shower walls and soap holder is clear to the eye. I've grown accustomed to it after two years. Should I have called Re-Bath and complained? Yes, but I could not bear to look at a reminder of Re-Bath nor bear to speak to them. As a side note, the contractor left me a tube of caulking and instructed me in how to apply it to the shower pan.

Re-Bath of the Tri Cities did a beautiful job on my bath remodel. All of their installers were courteous and respectful of my home. They put down drop cloths leading from outside to my bath. The job was done in only two days. The only problem came with the floor. My wife had picked out white tile with black grout to match the wainscoting installed on the wall behind the toilet. The tile that was installed was far from white. It was a shade of yellow, which Re-Bath called oyster white. Before the job was started, we were told that if anything was not right, they would remove it and replace it until it was right. When we told them that the floor tile was wrong, my wife was told the floor would be made right for a price. We have paid Re-Bath because we did not want the installers to have to wait to get paid for their labor. We are not satisfied and have no leverage to use with Re-Bath to have the mistake rectified.

Re-Bath installed our bath/shower in our upstairs bathroom in 2009. It was not installed properly and leaked into our downstairs bedroom. They came and repaired the leak. The pipes were not attached correctly. Later, I noticed the tub insert was not glued to the original tub and water was seeping into between the two. They came and re-glued the tub and re-caulked. Now 2012, the tub/shower is leaking again into our downstairs bedroom and the labor is no longer warrantied (only 2 years). Long story short, don't use Re-Bath. Shortcuts in remodeling your bath is not worth the pain.

I hired Re-Bath in June of 2012 and gave Barry ** of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin $7,000 down for a complete bathroom remodel. He has been a "no call, no show." And to date, January 11, 2013, he has yet to deliver any goods. I have taken him to small claims court only to win the case but not to get my money back. In the midst of this, I have received calls from other suckers taken by this scam. Please do not give Barry ** any money for any job because he will not deliver. He is currently working under another name. Now, he is working as Perfect Home Services Inc. DBA. He is going to take your money and he will not show up to do the work. This company is a total sham! The Re-Bath franchisee took our $5,000 down payment and never came to do the work or return our money! I called corporate but all they care about is their online reputation. The fact that customers of their franchisees are being scammed is of no concern to them and they won't even address the problem probably because they’re getting too much money off the franchisee's fees! It's 14 weeks out and we still have not had our $5,000 returned to us. So apparently, they think they can steal money through contracts and that's okay!

I am 88 years old and a long-time customer of Rebath, and I had bought a walk-in bathtub (Model 4828ST) in every house that I lived in. I was very satisfied until this year, when I had a problem with the air bubbles system in the tub and with the automatic drain system. I called them in July of 2012, and nothing. I've continued calling and calling, and every time, I talk with this very nice lady who is trying to help me. But she can never reach anyone from the service department. They are out on the field or not in the office. Every time, I get the same answer that someone will call me back. One time, they actually did call and said that they need to order something and that when they will have it, they will let me know and schedule an appointment. But they never did. Last time I called was three days ago. When I asked to talk with the manager, the lady said that he is not in the office and that he will call me the next day. Again, nobody did.

I really like the product, and I will like to take full advantage of using it, which I can't if parts of it are not working. I also have a doctor's order of taking a jet bath twice a day, which I cannot do since they don't work. I also tried to contact a regular plumber, even though my tub is still in warranty. But I couldn't find one that knows how to deal with this product. I don't know what else to do, so maybe someone at Rebath will see this complaint and do something.

A Re-Bath salesman came to our home and used high-pressure and highly manipulative techniques to try to get my husband and me to commit to their offer the night of the estimate. The presentation took 2.5 hours and clearly was not altered at all, even though we were trying to hold/entertain a 2-year-old who we had to keep up past her bedtime because the guy just kept going on and on. Most of this presentation was spent watching a PowerPoint of information I already knew about the company from researching them on the internet.

From the beginning, the salesman seemed more interested in interrogating us over other options we were considering and giving me his opinion that other remodeling companies we had received bids for (and we didn't give him names of companies because that felt awkward) were not trustworthy or respectful because they were taking a couple days between taking the measurements and the final bids. He asked me, "How does that make you feel that they didn't respect your time enough to give you a number?" I thought to myself that it doesn't bother me that a company understands that remodeling a historic 1947 home's bathroom requires a little more thought than taking measurements of surface materials and plugging it into a 10-cell pricing chart (like Re-Bath did), and it definitely isn't good business practice to make a major home improvement decision without investigating a few different options.

The salesman wasted so much of the presentation trying to badmouth who he assumed was bidding on our remodel. I finally just said that I'd prefer to focus on what Re-Bath had to offer. It was clear to me from the salesman's behavior he must have received some extra incentive for signing a person up the day of the presentation. He was clearly angry with me when I told him we would be taking a week to look at all of our options before making a decision. He actually said, "So, you've just been wasting my time then?" Additionally, I can say that while these look like good quality imitations of stone/tile work, it is not worth paying over double the cost of even higher-end tile/grout systems. (Re-Bath bid us $8,400 for just the shower.) Re-bath materials have less resale value regardless of what a Re-Bath salesman thinks of these products and when most people end up staying in their home for 10 years or less. This isn't smart investing, and in the end, that is what you are doing every time you improve your home.

On a final note, while I am not LDS, I found the following conversation that occurred at the very beginning of the meeting unprofessional and offensive. The salesman and his "trainee" were talking to us about our daughter and baby on the way. Making conversation, I asked each of them about their kids and the trainee said he had five children. The head salesman then added something like,"Yeah, he used to be LDS and you know how that goes," giving me eyebrows. Now, I realize that this guy has noticed we have a wine rack in our living room and a coffee pot in our kitchen, and made an assumption we are not LDS/mormon, and now is making a comment to me about a religious stereotype? Not appropriate and I wish I had ended the presentation right then since this was my first red flag of many — seriously, too many to list out here!

Re-Bath Madison, WI does not deliver. We met with Re-Bath salesperson, Barry, to have new shower doors and additional work done. We signed the contract and were told it would be 6 to 8 weeks. We had to call them at 10 weeks to find out what the status was, nobody called. Then they scheduled the installation date. Well, 8 am came the day of installation and nobody showed up and nobody called (we shifted schedules around, etc. to facilitate this). Nobody called back to reschedule the installation. We have called the corporate office but they cannot help except talk to the franchise manager which is no help. We want our money back and have submitted to them a letter to terminate the contract. It has been 3+ weeks and Barry has not gotten back to us even though we call him many times per week. This company is a sham.

I requested an in-home estimate to replace a shower, toilet, and flooring. The salesman who came had very few samples and was reluctant to go through steps to obtain and display more. Quite frankly, my wife and I have to take some of the responsibility for allowing ourselves to be rushed through the process, but we did make some picks from some small samples of the flooring and shower walls. After agreeing to the deal, we were then told that we would have to wait 3 months for the installation and would have to pay 1/2 down. We should have backed out then, but we went on with the deal and paid the down payment. Time went by, and after 3 months, we had heard nothing. So my wife called and the lady on the phone said, "Okay we'll schedule you right away" (?) So the job began shortly.

We were told that it would be a 3-day job. Things seemed to go okay at first, until the installer brought in the shower wall materials. It looked nothing like what the wife and I thought we had selected. The installer assured us that the pattern was what had been ordered. So it had been months since the order was placed and the bathroom was torn up, and I was ill, so we gave them the benefit of a considerable doubt and allowed the installation to proceed just to get it over with. The end result was what I would consider to be a mismatched floor and shower enclosure. So the installation proceeded. When it was time to check out the job, my wife did it because I was very ill. She wasn't careful enough and gave the installer the remainder of the money. Most of the job was done okay but the installer had obviously rushed to finish up. There was silicone caulking excessively smeared around on ceiling, walls, and baseboard.

The quarter round had been removed to allow for the floor installation, and had primarily been stuck back in place with caulk. One outside corner had a gap of almost 1/4 inch. When I called later to attempt to get the situation corrected, the salesman tried to explain away every complaint and displayed no interest in satisfaction at all. When I told him that the silicone would prevent paint from stocking, he tossed off the statement with a comment about "having to caulk the seams" to do a proper job and refused to accept the fact that there were smears as over an inch from a shower wall joint. He called back the next day and said that he had been told that a local paint store had something that could be painted onto silicone and then painted over. The representatives at the paint store said, "That's a lie!" So, I went ahead when I had recovered from my illness and, with a lot of effort, scraped enough silicone off to allow painting, and fixed my baseboards.

Lessons learned - don't trust salesmen. If a salesman has samples and does not have something you really like, end the session until he can produce more. Do not accept a 3-month schedule. Do not pay half down. Confirm before the installation starts that the materials are what you ordered. Do not pay the remainder of the money until you have thoroughly inspected the job. Do not assume that just because the first couple of days' work looked okay that the last day's work will be done to similar standards. And so on. In other words, be a lot better prepped consumer than I was and be a lot more insistent. Also shop around. I have already started getting estimates on another bathroom (Re-Bath excluded, of course). I am taking my time and have already found out that I can really beat Re-Bath's price. My only consolation is that I have definitely cost Re-Bath at least two jobs so far and I enjoy passing along comments to people looking at Re-Bath's display at Home Depot. People do seem to listen.

The problem started on 6/6/2012 with Re-Bath. A sales rep came out and he told us (me and my wife) that he could make a bigger shower. However, the shower we received was smaller and the space between the top and the bottom was very minimal. It was also leaking from the left side and under the door. I paid $6,500.00 for this shower with my Home Depot card. The sales rep never told me about the Baltimore code when installing a shower, where you need a certain amount of space for medic to come in, so now, they want to credit me $1,100 and want me to pay the remaining balance of $5,400.

Their salesman know how to get you! Please if you're thinking of having Re-Bath do your work, look for someone you can trust. They make it sound so nice and fast, but believe me, you will regret it.

Say no to Re-Bath! My Re-Bath nightmare: I met with Ron, a salesman from Re-Bath, on Friday, June 3, 2011 at 6pm in my home. After his sales pitch, I picked out the bathtub, tub surround, tub/shower fixtures, 1 round toilet, and wainscot for lower wall and trim. I was informed I would receive a 210% discount if I made a down payment that night, and that work would begin in 36 weeks. I put down, in good faith, a $5,000 down payment. I was promised I would not be without a 4 functioning toilet at any time and all work would be completed within 53 consecutive days. I did not get a round toilet. The one I picked out and paid for was damaged, so Tristan took it upon himself to pick out one he liked and installed an oval one, which is most definitely a man’s toilet, not a woman’s which is quite uncomfortable and ugly.

I do not recall ever seeing in writing the 10% discount I supposedly received. I was promised work to start in 6 weeks. It was 2 days shy of 10 weeks! I was without a toilet for 3 days and without a shower for 5, which covered a weekend! All work was guaranteed to be completed within 3 consecutive days, whereas it took 5. On August 17, 2011 (almost 10 weeks [75 days] later!), Re-Bath finally came to install my dream bathroom. Or so I thought! The problems I found, I reported to Re-Bath via email to Stephanie who assured me everything would be taken care of. When the work was complete, I noticed there was no electricity to 4 rooms in my home that had previously worked.

The bathroom light/fan/nightlight did not work properly. The light and fan were connected to the same switch and the nightlight did not work at all. I did not receive the paperwork/warranties from the items I purchased (sink, vanity, mirrored medicine cabinet, and toilet topper). When I received a final bill, I emailed Re-Bath and informed them I would pay the bill as soon as they fulfilled their promise to fix the problems and give me my warranties for items I bought. A Re-Bath representative hired an electrician to fix the electrical problems, if they found they were due to Re-Bath’s mistake. He came out on August 25, 2011. The letter from Schwartz Electric states that they did indeed find that the neutral or white wire was not making connection back to the panel. That is because Tristan cut it! They could not find any connection with the work in the bathroom to my problem.

They admitted they broke off a switch plate cover to the basement light switch, and left the mess for me to clean up. They admitted the chipped paint off a blank cover on my ceiling and pried it open. This has been covered for the past 25 years! They admitted to entering my attic. They totally missed that the light/fan switch in the bathroom did not work properly. How could a trained electrician miss that? They reported numerous code violations (all homes have code violations as codes constantly changed. This home was built in early 60’s, so obviously there are code violations compared to today’s standards!), caused numerous damages to my home! Damaged drywall when removing kitchen switch plate cover, damaged ceiling when removing pained over cover, damaged ceiling in kitchen/living room when in attic, and destroyed outlet cover in basement and left the mess.

As I did not trust the electrician Re-Bath hired, and who could when he missed the most obvious problem - the bathroom light switch not properly working - I hired Fox Electric. Matt, an electrician with Fox Electric, came to my home on Friday, September 2. He found/repaired the following: Bath fan has 3 circuits, two (fan and light) of which were connected to one switch the other (night light) not connected at all. He repaired it, so all three are connected to their own switch. He found the bath fan was installed incorrectly, was not properly braced to support unit, but held up by drywall and one screw. Bracing between rafters is required. Also it was found that electrical connections were made outside of junction box and junction box cover was pinching the wiring. He found other two switch circuits were cut and tapped in attic! Not code!

Matt informed me that all junction boxes are required to have access, one was covered up by Re-Bath. He found that the vanity light was installed against code and the back plate for fixture was missing. When the vanity was removed, found circuit for kitchen light and other cut and tapped in the wall! Matt found hot lead cut and taped in wall as well. He found all circuits in junction box were cut and left in wall, when electrical junction receptacle to the right of sink was removed to cover it with the wainscot. I did not want this to go to court. All I wanted was for Re-bath to own up to their mistakes and do the right thing by paying for the electrician and repair to my ceiling. And I would pay what I owed (if anything) once these costs were deducted from final payment. Now, I have a white trash bathroom and white trash kitchen/living room. I’m heading to court in 2 hours. I hope the judge sees Re-Bath for what they are.

I am very dissatisfied with the service and attitude of the owner of the Re-Bath store in my area. Upon ordering my bath liner, I was shocked to learn I would have to wait nearly 3 months for the installation. With promises from the salesman that they usually arrive earlier than that, I signed the paper and applied for the loan.

The date of the promised installation came and went, and I waited a couple more weeks after that before I went in to the store to find out why I hadn't heard from anyone. The owner, Nick Falletta, was very unhelpful and made lots of excuses. He said he had no idea why the tub was not here and said he could contact the factory but said they usually don't answer him. It was a very strange encounter, and he seemed very defensive and kept talking around in circles and not answering my questions directly. He felt sure there was a problem at the factory and promised I would have the liner soon and made a date for installation in about 2 more weeks. He said he was sure the liner was on its way.

The day of that appointment came and went, and I heard from no one. No one came that day. A few days later, they called me to say my liner was here and would I like to set up an appointment. It was like they hadn't even known about the appointment I already had. The lady was very glib and just said, "Well, let's schedule it now." I did get an appointment within a few days. The installers were polite and prompt, and when I asked them if I needed to remove the shower curtain for them, they said no and that they would do all the work and put the bathroom back together when they left.

I went to work and left them to finish the job. When I arrived home, they left my shower curtain on the floor balled up and had broken my rod and one of the curtain rings and not put it back up. The caulking around the edge of the tub was uneven too.

I called the next day, and they sent someone out the next day. He arrived promptly and cleaned up a little spot on the edge of the tub and said the caulk was the best they could do. He said the rod was old and was not their fault it broke and that it should be okay anyway. He said he could glue the ring piece but that it would take a while to warm up his glue gun. I'm not sure why he didn't plug the thing in when he got here, but I had to go to work by the time he was done with all the other stuff. So I couldn't wait anymore.

When I told him I was still unhappy with the caulk job and wanted the owner to call me, he said I could just call the owner myself. I really felt like I was getting the brush off and not getting taken seriously. I spent $1800 and felt like they had my money now and didn't care about my satisfaction or inconveniences, leaving my bathroom a mess to boot.

A week or so later, I went in to the store to talk to Mr. Falletta; and again, he talked and talked and made excuses and made no attempt to satisfy my complaints, except to offer to have another technician to check out the caulk. But he said the guy he sent out was the best he had. I declined that offer since I didn't feel he was sincere and was tired of messing with the company.

I fixed the curtain ring myself and just put up the shower curtain and rod myself, and I hope it stays in place on the tiny little piece of plastic left for it to rest on. There's no hope of getting the caulk to look better. I figured for $1800, I should have even caulk and a new shower curtain rod. There's nothing I can do now about the ridiculous delays, but I hope the public will avoid this company.

I will not refer Re-Bath to any of my friends, mostly because of the owner's cavalier attitude, ineptitude at being able to discover the reasons for the incredible delays in delivery, and his excuses for his employees' poor performances.

Re-Bath came in and did a remodel for us through the VA. They put in a whole new shower. As a wife of a veteran, I would have expected some respect but didn't get that. They left the bathroom a mess. They knocked off a bunch of tiles and didn't put them back on. They widened the door in the bathroom and did a really bad job of it. They put in a exhaust fan and did not vent it to the outside which is against the law. It goes straight upstairs and will cause mold and mildew. They got mad because a contractor that is related came and saw what a bad job they did, so he contacted them and they told me they didn't know I was going to have a contractor check out their work. That should not have mattered. If they are going to do a job, they should do it right in the first place.

What they did was illegal and to be doing it to a disabled veteran, I would say that is about as low as they can get. At the time they were doing the estimate, the VA called and told us that they thought my husband may have cancer. The person that did the estimate told me she will let us keep the exhaust fan if we promise we will not use it. It is connected to the light so I told her I can't promise that. She got very rude with me. The list goes on about the things that are not right. The gripper bar was placed in an angle that could cause my husband's hand to slip and he could get hurt. Please people, do your homework first before you have someone come in and do something that is illegal.

I had a Re-Bath franchise remodel my bathroom by changing out the tub to a shower pan. They also installed three wall panels. After a period of time, I noticed that one of the wall panels began to separate from the shower pan. It appeared that the wall panel was cut too short. The franchise came out twice to attempt to repair. After the second attempt, the installer stated, "If this doesn’t work, I'll replace the wall panel.” Well, it separated again and now the franchise is no longer in business. When I contacted the headquarters customer service (Lisa **), they said, "Sorry, we can help you.” Does the main franchise have any obligation to fix the problem?

I waited until 1:00pm on March 23 to call to see when they will show up. The same lady had no clue about anything and nothing was scheduled for me. We contracted with Kentuckiana Re-Bath to totally re-do our main (and only bath with a shower) bathroom in July 2011. It is now February 23, and it is still not put to bed. We were told to have all painting and electrical work completed before they came to install. We paid 1/2 the money down (over $4,000) in July when we signed the contract. We did not hear anything back from them until the last week in September. When they called on the last Thursday in September, they wanted to come the following Monday. Not much notice, but we were told by the salesperson that when they call, we better be ready or we would be put to the bottom of the list again. We were.

We were told no one had to be there, but thank God my husband was and was downstairs in our basement with our dogs. Otherwise, our basement would have been totally flooded. Twice, he had water gushing into the basement, and he didn't have a clue. My husband had to tell him. My husband also had to clean up the mess twice.

On the first day, one of the walls was mis-cut. When I came home from work and told Mike this, he wasn't happy about it and told me that it could take another 2 months to get another wall in. I believe he was trying to get me to just live with it. On the second day, Mike installed the vanity and then realized they had ordered the wrong size and my door wouldn't close. Again, we were told that it could take another 2 months to get another vanity in. Instead, they took the vanity back to the shop and tried to cut it down to fit. This is the vanity that we were told was so high quality that we should never ever think about screwing or nailing anything into it.

When they brought it back and installed it, we noticed that nails were shooting up through all the drawers and had even splintered the wood. I actually cut my finger on one of these nails. When my husband said something to Mike, he said he noticed it. We both thought that was strange. I guess they were just hoping we wouldn't say anything. Why would you install something that was obviously not the high quality that was promised? It was refurbished as far as we were concerned.

For the first 45 minutes of the presentation in July, we had to hear about what a terrible company Bath Fitters is. Picture after picture of the excessive amount of caulk they use. Re-Bath is using just as much. We had 2 inches of caulk around everything. Walls were cut crooked. Definitely not the quality beautiful bathroom we were promised. During all of this, no one from the office called us. The only person talking to us was the installer, Mike, and he had become frustrated after he kept making mistakes. He just wanted off this job.

During one of his visits, he left our house without telling my husband (who was downstairs with the dogs out of his way) and left our front door wide open. After all of this, we noticed that they have knocked a hole through our wall into our bedroom. Now we not only have a bathroom that has not been completed in the 3-day max time but a tumor-like bulge coming through our bedroom wall.

Finally after sending an email to our salesperson, Cindy (and getting a very argumentative response back, making us to feel like it was our fault), I got a call from the owner, David **. He came to our house, looked at everything, seemed to be professional, and told us he was going to take care of everything. He has the hole in the wall fixed, and professional painters paint our bedroom. He also has them paint the bathroom because he thought they had a way of putting something on the caulk so it could be painted over, but the painters said that was no such thing.

Also, there was a nail hole in the wall by the vanity where they have originally installed the incorrect size. When the correct vanity was installed, of course, you could see the nail hole in the wall. Mr. David explained the only thing to do was to take the vanity out and replace the wall. We all agreed to let Mr. David install a piece of molding (again on our brand-new high quality vanity) to cover this nail hole. My husband and I just wanted this to be over.

During all of these months, I had relatives who couldn't stay at my home and had to stay in a hotel when visiting from Louisiana (end of October, again our remodel started the 1st Monday of October). I had Thanksgiving, Christmas, and my granddaughter's first birthday party, but I still had all of my bathroom supplies sitting in laundry baskets in other rooms.

The above are just the major issues. We decided to live with several covered-up mistakes that were made just to end this. Mr. David agreed to a reduced amount because our 3-day max bathroom remodel took from the 1st Monday in October until the painters left on December 27. In every advertisement, the big thing that is promoted is the quick turnaround. As a matter of fact, from Thanksgiving until Christmas, I had to hear commercials on the radio stating that I could call and still have my new bathroom by Christmas. How in the world could that be when I had given over $4,000 for my bathroom in July and still didn't have mine done?

One week after mailing the final payment, I receive a letter which stated the balance was still on my account but they wouldn't take legal action at this time. I called Mr. David. I left message after message but received no return call. Finally, I sent an email to the Re-Bath corporate offices, asking someone there to please have him call me.

The following Monday, January 23, he finally returned my many, many calls. He stated that his accountant had told him to send the letter because he was writing off the balance as bad debt. It wasn't bad debt; it was reduced payment for taking so very long and us just settling and living with the many mistakes and cover-ups. I also explained to him that we were told that this was a lifetime guarantee and that we would never have to call a plumber for anything to do with this bathroom. We had never received any of this information. He said that the information was not sent until the job was completed. I told him I wanted the warranty information and a letter sent saying we were paid in full.

My credit is excellent, and I certainly do not want this screwing that up. It is now February 23, and I have received nothing. My many calls have been left unanswered. I spoke to a Lisa in customer service at corporate on February 17, who acted like she cared; but obviously, nothing has still been done.

I just don't know what to do. Obviously, Re-Bath tells you what you want to hear but is not very good on the follow through. We just want this to be over. I want my warranty and guarantee and a letter signed and notarized stating my account is paid in full. I just can't understand a supposedly professional businessman handling this situation like this. They make the mistakes, and we get treated like this? What kind of crazy company is this?

On Friday, July 1st, 2011, we decided to go with Re-Bath instead of Bath Fitter (we did get an estimate from them, also). We expressed to your salesman (Dean **) the importance of wanting a larger tub than we already had. He had to go back and forth with us several times on the phone, taking measurements, until he investigated and stated he could get the size tub we wanted. The agreed upon tub size was exterior 30 wide tub with INTERIOR measurements of 24 wide, 59/60 long and 14 deep.

Monday, August 22nd, was install day. The installer (Dave) was not very competent. He had turned off the water main, then removed the faucet handles. When he went to turn the water main back on, he had left the spigot open, so water was pouring into my open floorboards/joists. He asked for towels, I gave him older ones. they weren't enough, and he asked for more, so I gave him nicer towels. They were filthy when he gave them back to me.

I went outside to look at the new tub in my driveway. It looked oddly narrow. So I measured just the interior. The width was only 22, so I called the salesman. He looked into it and called me back, stating that the size tub I wanted/ordered/he agreed to, did not even exist. Evidently, Josh at the office was looking up the wrong type of tub, so that size exists, but not for the type of system we were having installed. I was aghast! What was I going to do? I had a huge hole in my wall/floor, and my old cast iron tub had been jack-hammered into pieces? And the agreed upon size tub I wanted didn't exist, because of a mistake on Re-bath's part?

Someone, somewhere in Re-bath had to have known that the incorrect size tub was being sent to my house. I allowed the installer to put in the 22 tub, with the condition that, I would not get a chance to take a bath until the weekend, and I would let Re-Bath know, then if I was satisfied with the smaller tub (Also, Dave tried putting in the new tub with the nails still in the studs! He left broken glass in a bag in the hall and when my dad walked by, he cut his shin on it). He also left the bathroom and toilet filthy with the grime from the drain, and the jack hammering knocked tiles loose in the adjacent bathroom, which Dave agreed to grout.

The weekend came, and trying to take a bath was quite a joke! The width was a little tight, but even worse, the water barely covered me! I measured the depth, and it was only 12! It was supposed to be 14. I was furious! Also, when we take showers, the bottom creaks/groans/moans so loudly, it can be heard in the next room, over the noise of a box fan, and an air purifier!

I called the salesman to let him know of the additional mistake (12 instead of 14 depth), and the unbearable noises the tub makes when showering. He gave me the number to the local franchise owner, Jim. I called Jim. He could not have cared less about any of my dissatisfaction. His rebuttal is that, I authorized them to put in that tub. No I did not! I authorized a 22x59x14 (since there is no 24x59x14), to be installed, and that is not what is in my bathroom. He had never received complaints about the noise. it is not possible, because it is sitting flat on the floorboards. I am no rocket scientist, but the exterior is 15 and the interior is only 12. My math says there is a 3 gap between the tub bottom and the floorboards!

He was adamant that he was not going to come out, and do anything, certainly not anything for free. I asked if he would then rebate some of the money I had already paid, and his answer was no. He offered no concessions whatsoever to try to appease this unhappy customer. I wish I had paid by credit card so I could have contested the charge!

The only saving grace is Dean, the salesman. He was not above being bothered to come out, and see about the creaking/groaning. He agreed to try to be a go-between for us and Jim. It has still been a process of waiting weeks, and not hearing anything. We initiated a call to Dean, and he replies, "you mean no one has called you yet?" Our answer, no! Currently, they are looking into what they could apply/spray under the tub to help with the noise. Now that they are investigating, apparently the noise issue is more common than they thought. To this day, we still don't know what is going on concerning products to help insulate under the tub. Also, caulking is already pulling away from the back wall (after only 2 months), to which it took 2 weeks to hear back from the repairman.

I believe that I have been reasonable, and more than patient. If this issue does not get resolved to my satisfaction, I will have to take measures. I have contacted the Better Business Bureau, Angie’s List, Ohio Consumer Affairs, Ohio Attorney General, my uncle (who is a prominent lawyer in the region), and my friend (who directs the news at the local Fox TV station). I have also posted on Facebook about the lousy service and product. A response would be greatly appreciated.

I assume your company normally doesn’t just install “whatever size tub they feel like” into homes. I would like to hear from you no later than December 15th, 2011. The outcome I am expecting is either : 1)for you to replace the tub with a deeper tub and do something about the irritatingly loud noise it makes (assuming the new tub may creak, also), or 2)a partial refund (the cost of the tub itself), and you do something about the irritatingly loud noise it makes.

We had them come to our home in March of 2008 to give an estimate for the complete remodel of our shower/bath enclosure. They quoted us $5,700 dollars and we would need to put down a deposit to order up our fixtures and materials. We gave them a check for $490.

He left and contacted us, stating that he needed to come and get an extra $200 dollars for a down of 10%. We foolishly gave him cash! Though we did tell him that we didn't feel comfortable giving him cash, he made a photocopy of it and signed it. He stated that a few weeks will go by before the office will call to set up an "install appointment". That call never came!

A few weeks went by and we started to worry, so we called, and called, and called. We sent off letters; we filed a report with the BBB. Nothing has happened in 3 years. I sent off a letter to their corporate office in August 2011, and they ignored it. This company is the worst company we have ever dealt with!

During installation, the wrong hardware was installed. We had asked and paid for controlling the temperature of water but did not receive any. We had to call and get it ordered, which took some time to do. When the new hardware was brought out, there was not a new overflow valve installed. We asked for a new one and they said that they would order it. But a couple of weeks later, they called to say that they did not install the overflow valves. Why would someone pay over $3,000 to put a rubber stopper in the tub while taking a bath?

This contract was signed on 26 Mar 11 and the new control was installed on 19 May 11. The installer didn't bring the overflow valve. The installer stated that he would have the office order one, but we never heard from them. We called and were told that it was on order with the new temperature control valve. When they notified me that the new temperature valve was in, I asked about the overflow. They said that it was all there--valve and temperature control.

When the installer got here, he did not have the overflow valve. I called the office again and they said that they would get back to me. Finally, they contacted me about a month ago stating that they did not install overflow valves. So, why would anyone pay that kind of money and still have to use a rubber stopper to take a bath? Also, when we talked to the sales rep, we were told that the old rotten wood would be replaced. On the first day of the installation, after the installer left, all of the rotten wood was still there. All he did was put the liner over the rotten wood. He said that he needed that to make a clean corner, with the liner.

I am so confused. My husband heard about this company on KTRH radio talk and there was a lot of bragging. Maybe they do good work, and are very thorough, but not in my case. My husband has to work hard and we had to save to get this done. Your help in this is greatly appreciated. My overall experience is half star. It is already September, and it still can't be fixed.

What were the odds the we would have the one that would not fit or is out of stock? So I was faced with a dilemma. A two week wait for a replacement began to smell pretty bad! Since this is the only bathroom that we have.

The other option, I wasn't even sure of. However, as everything worked out, the owner came to our rescue. He removed the existing bathtub and installed a new replacement bathtub from Re-Bath so the work could continue! I have to mention that they are extraordinary well rounded individuals, they know their work! If anybody was ever to ask me if I would I endorse them, the answer would be yes, I will definitely endorse them. As it's extremely hard today to find true workers versus workers. Anybody having a business before would definitely know what I mean. Re-Bath gets an A for the excellent work. So please continue on with the same philosophy. We only employ master carpenters". I would expect plumbers, not carpenters to do this type of work. No wonder the customer had problems. This is a written response to the complaint posted for Re-Bath from Sugarland, TX. We have documentation on this issue. What actually happened on 1/18/10, our consultant Jason went out to visit the Verdones for a sales call. He did not sell the job because they were uncomfortable buying anything on the first day. A few weeks later, the Verdones called Jason back to say they were ready to move forward. They set up a follow up sales call on 2/1/10. Jason went back out to the home. It was at this time that Jason explained to them that our normal installation process takes 1-2 days. He never told them that their installation would only take 1 day. He said that it is possible for some of our jobs to take 1 day. But it was up to the installation team to decide which jobs were possible to do in 1 day and which jobs would take longer than that.

The week of 3/1/10, we called the Verdones to schedule their installation. It was at this time, over the phone, that we told them the installation would definitely take 2 days. We apologized for any inconvenience. But we gave them the option of either coming out on a Saturday or putting a lockbox on their home so they would not have to miss any work. They declined both and set up their installation for Thursday and Friday, 3/11 and 3/12. Then, they called the salesman, Jason, to see if there was anything he could do to push to make their job "one of the 1 day jobs" because they had to work. This clearly indicates that they were perfectly aware that this job would take more than 1 day. We were fine with working around their schedule, but they declined.

Peter arrived at their home on 3/11 and worked his normal 8 hour day. On Friday, he arrived on time again. But during the course of the installation, he ran into a few challenges, which can sometimes happen on large jobs. As the afternoon was getting longer, he asked the Verdones if they preferred him to work late to finish the job, or come back on Saturday morning to finish. They chose to keep him there on Friday night working until the job was finished. He did stay until 11 pm to finish, but that was at their own request. He was willing to come back the next morning. After the installation, the Verdones signed the Customer Approval sheet and did not list any complaints in the section titled "Comments" on the Approval sheet. They paid the balance in full, and that was that.

Three weeks later, Ms. Verdone called the office irate saying that her bathtub was too small. She stated that we sold her a larger bathtub. But it clearly states directly on the contract Standard size bathtub. Standard is 60x30, and that is what we installed. However, because Ms. Verdone was completely irate, we chose to compromise with her. We agreed that ReBath would take out the 60x30 bathtub that was on the contract, and replace it with a 60x32 bathtub - but the Verdones would be responsible for paying the cost of the new bathtub, $200. We agreed that we would not charge them for the labor, just the new bathtub, simply to make them happy. We ordered the new bathtub, and waited for it to arrive. When it arrived at our warehouse, we called the Verdones to set up a new installation. They stated that they are both teachers, so if we could set up a time in the summer after their school year ended, then they would not have to take any time off of work.

On 5/6, we sent two installers to their home to install the new bathtub. In the process of removing the walls, one wall was damaged. We explained the situation to the Verdones and gave them two choices: 1. we put the damaged wall up and simply cover the non-straight cut line with a piece of trim, or we 2. reorder a new wall, but that would mean the Verdones would again have to wait. They chose to put up the trim. We installed the new bathtub, put up the walls, and put up the trim. Then, they decided that they did not like the trim, and they decided to have us order a new wall. So, we left them with a working bathroom. We did not collect the $200 and we reordered another wall. When the wall arrived, we called them once more to schedule the final installation.

We arrived at the home on 6/18, put up the new wall, and finished. When we tried to collect the $200 that the Verdones agreed to pay us for installing a larger bathtub, they became irate once again. They called the office and we agreed to waive the $200 charge, once again - to make them happy. They were completely satisfied and seemed very happy that they did not have to pay the $200 fee that they agreed to. We never heard from them again. We went out of our way to make the Verdones happy. Every time we offered to come out on a Saturday to do the work, since they teach during the week, they refused. When they called with a complaint, we did everything in our power to make them happy. Mistakes happen, and we admit that our installer had some trouble with one of the walls when he was replacing the bathtub for them. However, we fixed everything that she was upset about, and even gave her a larger bathtub than the one on the original contract, for free. I honestly do not know what more we could have done to make them happy. I have attached all supporting documents.

Please note that every time we performed an installation, they signed the Customer Approval sheet with no comments or complaints. We pride ourselves on excellent work. And any time a customer is upset, we try to resolve the dispute any way we can. To state that we have "not been trained to use a tape measure or see correctly" is offensive and untrue. We only employ master carpenters - and we think that it shows great dedication to stay at a client's home until 11 pm to finish a job on a Friday night. Most clients would appreciate that kind of hard work, but it seems that the Verdones did not see it that way.

I had a ReBath system installed a few years ago. Some time went by when I noticed I had a stain (I've come to the conclusion that it's a hard water stain. No one was ever sent to look at it) at the bottom of my tub which has the non-skid treatment. (The installer has since retired.) I have called and sent emails to ReBath. Most time my calls were not returned. I tried the cleaners on the list. I tried the Palmolive. Long story short, they told me the product warranty did not apply to stains. However, if you notice the online ads say that their system is stain resist. I would like to have my liner replaced without the non-skid. The rest of it is okay.

Someone was to come up today to fix it and they were not only a no-show, they didn't even bother to phone and cancel or reschedule. I get the run around every time I phone them. No one returns my calls to set an appointment or cancel.

The shower leaks, the shower door does not close properly. One of the tiles has no grout on it. It's going on three months and we still cannot use the shower.

I am sorry I did not find this site before. Reading the reviews of other Re-bath's customers, I can relate to them. They have a horrible service. I tried to order a bath. The lady in Puerto Rico didn't know how to use the VISA, so she charged many times and I had to go to the bank to solve the problem. She put a lot of pressure and was very rude and pushy because even though she didn't make the charge to my credit card because she did not know how to use it, she was blaming me for the whole situation. I solved the problem with the bank but I lost trust on them because she said she ordered the bath tub as a special favor. Come on, this is business; I know she doesn't do favors.

My bank account was frozen for several days because she messed up and that was the first experience. Then she kept calling me and demanding a deposit with a check. I did not trust them already. She kept calling me and threatens. They have a contract that allows them to keep the deposit after three days of the order. They never cashed the deposit because they did not know how to use the card.

After these people in Puerto Rico threatened me to take me to court so they can have the deposit, I don't feel like doing business with pushy people that don't know how to handle a bank account and at the top of everything are threatening to take me to court. This Re-bath thing is a nightmare. They just care about selling and having your money. At least in Puerto Rico, they have the worst customer service ever and the people who handle this company are very rude with no knowledge about business and about customer service. If you want to give your money away and have a nightmare, call Re-Bath, Puerto Rico.

I visited a Re-Bath in Baton Rouge and scheduled an appointment. My problem is that the rep said following the estimate, we will be offered a discount. But if we declined at the time, the discount would walk out the door with the rep. We don't want to waste a one-time opportunity. But we do not like that "gun to the head" without any idea of the cost of a walk in tub with installation and/or a shower replacing a tub. We just choose not to do anything at this time. If this is how they want to do business, I'd suggest to anyone the following: Get other estimates first. Then, schedule Re-Bath as the last estimate you get. This way, you know if the deal they are offering you is worth taking.

I'm sorry but I don't know what they would be charging for a walk in tub or shower installation. But I personally hate companies that do business this way. It leads me to believe that they are not the best game in town (value/price/quality). And that is why they threaten to take away the discount if they can't strong arm you into making a decision on the spot. Honestly, we shopped around with other contractors and we are glad we did. The Re-Bath discount was as fake as their sales tricks. It would have cost twice what we finally paid.

We had to replace our bathtub in the master bath when it cracked and leaked water into the master bedroom. We talked to the Re-bath sales person. It was a hard sale as he threatened to withhold the 10% cash discount if we didn't sign a contract immediately. My husband and I sent him away without a contract but not before we copied all the notes he had taken during the sales process. He called back and offered the 10% discount whenever we were ready to sign. He sold it as a one day installation as a team would come to do the work.

When the material was ready for install, one person arrived with instructions that it was a two-day job. Not only was it a two-day job but he stayed until 11 p.m. on a Friday to complete the installation. The window frame was curved on both vertical sides. The latex caulking used around the tub and wall pieces were unpaintable and all over the paint. The tub was significantly smaller than the size indicated by the sales person. Jason came out to the house to look at the problems. He agreed that everything needed to be fixed. However, they had to order more parts.

We are teachers and taking days off to monitor the work was a big problem. Jason said no problem, it will only be a one-day fix. The crew came out to fix the issues only to create new issues. It seems that they have not been trained to use a tape measure or a saw correctly. It looked like they had tried to patch up the wall to look good--but failed!

We called Jason again. Again they had to order parts. Jason actually came to install on the last try. Most of the problems are patched--not fixed to professional standards. I have several places where I had to seal myself. It still does not look professionally installed. My recommendation to everyone I meet is not to use Re-bath for several reasons: 1) They lied about the one-day job twice; 2) They don't call when they say they will; 3) Their work is shoddy and unprofessional; 4) It took five days to complete the one-day job that was promised. At the end of the day, this is just a crap job, we could have done a better job on the details!

In July of 2007, I contracted Re-Bath to do my main floor bath. The cost was $4,800.00. Re-Bath ordered the materials and installed the tub cover, walls, grab bar, soap, etc. holder and a shower bowed rod, plus the faucet and new drains. The first issue was the installer failed to adequately caulk around the tub walls and the water was leaking down into the basement. The company returned caulked as needed.

The next issue was that the shower rod continually fell off so again, they were contacted. A service person drilled the wall and reinstalled the rod with anchors. That didn't last for two weeks and I repaired it myself after fixing the drilled hole. The second issue was the liner released from the tub and water was getting between the two. The service man again came out and re-glued the tubs through the drain. The next issue was his repair created a drain leak into the basement so the company again was contacted and a service man attempted to repair the drain and left. The drain was fine for a month or so then started leaking again.

I contacted Re-bath about having the drain re-repaired on the Friday before a Monday holiday. They said they will call me on Tuesday after the holiday; however, it was almost four weeks to the day when they called. The company wanted to send a service man to fix the leak and inquired if we had a basement for access. We agreed that he could return the same afternoon and repair the leak.

Three minutes after we spoke, I again was contacted by the service people and was told that I would have a $69.95 service charge for the repair. I told them that it was still leaking after the last two fixes and they said that they only warranty for one year. I canceled the service trip. My issue is why the job in its entirety was not completed correctly during the installation? And why, just because they can't get it right, should I pay for another botched repair when it is their place to provide a quality service and product?

These wonder products never measure up to their promise. They have been around for the past thirty years and their number of outlets is around 200 across the nation which is comprised mostly one man shops. Just look at the numbers, we have about forty million baths in the USA and if a bath required replacement after twenty years than two million baths would be replaced each year. My point is if it was a wonder product then we should expect a radical shift in consumer preference but that isn't true. They do on a good year maybe forty thousand or 0.05 percent. The product never made it to main stream. Why? It is just a plastic covering that looks cheap.

My advice is expect the cost of a conventional bath room remodel to cost the same as a "Re-Bath" and using time tested products will add value to your home not take away from it like a Re-Bath. Use real products for your remodel and stop wanting for a magic pill. I promise you that you will not regret it.

Then the county inspector inspects the job and fails the work done by the plumber. What we were told by the inspector was that he was supposed to inspect the plumbing before the shower and tub were put in. Then Re-Bath and the inspector spoke and all seemed okay. Work was done, we were taking showers and felt good about our upgrade. Then several days later, my wife noticed a 15ft dark stain on our living room ceiling. Re-Bath sent another plumber who had to cut several holes in our ceiling to locate the problem. Come to find out that the plumber who installed our new and improved shower forgot to connect the shower drain, so all of the water came down on our living room ceiling.

Re-Bath said they wanted to make things right so whatever it took to get the situation fixed. I spoke to the owner Dave, who said they would pay for a hotel for my wife and I but stated not to go over $200.00. Well, I couldn't find one for less than $99.00 a night and that was without a kitchen so we had to eat out for those two days. On top of that, we had to put our dog up at the pound. I sent Re-Bath the bill and they only paid $200.00 and left me with the tax of the hotel room, which was $22.00 and $82.00 for the dog pound. Price of new shower, $6,000 and inconveniencing us out of our home, $300.00 and the owner would not pay more than $200.00! Pretty sad of a company that says they guarantee all their work and also tells you they want to make things right. Well Dave, things are not right!

They call themselves Re-Bath because they have to re-do their own work. I never questioned their integrity until the salesman misled me 3 times. I have a huge amount of money in my re-modeled bathroom only to have a tub that is not level. The installer replaced a piece of board under the tub then failed to bring it to my attention that the floor was not level. I had a carpenter on stand by who could have resolved the situation. But because the electrician took 3 hours to do his job, the installer was running behind so he installed the tub anyway. In a hurry, he miss-cut the final panel and had to come two weeks later.

Water now pools in a corner and half way down the backside ledge of the wall and tub. The installer now tells me I need to be a better housekeeper and keep the water wiped off. Give me a break! Water pooling will lead to molding. The project coordinator tells me that they will do whatever it takes to make it right, even if they have to replace the wall panels to get under the tub to shim it. However, the salesman refuses to acknowledge that this is a problem.

Life-time warranty? Wow, the first 30 days are not going well. I paid in full before the product was installed. My bad and stupidity. I wish I would have done more research. I would never recommend Re-Bath and I am embarrassed to tell my friends.

Re-Bath negative experience alert! Bait and switch tactics are practiced by this company. Re-Bath is partnered with Home Depot. I met with credentialed company rep, Barbara, on Friday, April 2, 2010. The rep was fine and the presentation was professional. The rep ran numbers, measured our bathroom, took numerous photographs and seemed competent at her job.

We only wanted tiles in the shower removed and a shower wall liner installed. The rep informed us that their liner package only came with a new shower set-up which included a shower spout, head and single control water valve (which we did not need). She said the workers would have to rip out the tiles, and install "green board" and then the shower liner. The final price agreed on was $3,997.00 with a deposit of $1,332.00 given via credit card. All work was to be completed in one day and the approximate work date was three weeks later; a specific work date to be given in the coming week.

Six days later, the rep calls to inform us that the plumber Re-Bath contracts with told her that after going over her paperwork, measurements and photos of the bath/shower in our home the job is a bigger one and Re-Bath would need to rip out our existing tub and re-route the plumbing (there is nothing wrong with our plumbing or our current tub).

Instead of the agreed upon price of $3,997.00, we were told the cost would be "substantially" more. We declined, the rep said okay and she would cancel our contract. We asked for and were given assurances that our credit card would not be charged the deposit amount or any other amount. The rep said no charges would be made and the contract would be canceled. This is bait and switch--and this is unacceptable.

Their bathroom is 50 percent unfinished, and what was done was poor workmanship. We have taken pics, and on planning a civil suit, one unlicensed person was sent to do the job. Then after my parents paid $2500.00, we said no more. They put a regular $200.00 bathtub in. I hope nobody else uses their service.

We had a shower installed in our bathroom by bay state Re-Bath. The installer put the shower door off center and when I asked to have it moved, they refused and charged me $175 to put it where it belongs. I was charged $175 to have the shower door placed where it belongs, where I was told it would go where they are all placed in the showroom. And I was yelled at and treated rudely by the owner, Jennifer **. After spending $8,000, they refused to refund the extra $175 and told me to take them to court. The also lied to the BBB saying many things that were not true. I have detailed records and photos. I pray that this is the last of it!

I had these gentlemen put their super duper stuff in my bathroom. We moved a few months later and leased the house. I was getting ready to lease it again and I found that they had disconnected the air conditioner drain that drains into my bathtub drain and just let the water drain under the slab of my house. This caused the clay of the house to swell and the foundation of my house to buckle. The foundation company charged us $27,000 to fix the foundation problem.

Now back to Re-Bath, they are no longer in business. They never had a plumbing license and the franchisor in AZ, a lovely person named Hedi, says we are just screwed. They might be willing to fix the plumbing leak. The insurance company says we will need to get Re-Bath to pay for their mistake so we need to collect from their insurance company. But you know the rest of the story, Re-Bath didn’t have insurance.

Their supposed lifetime warranty is garbage! I got liners installed in 2001. One of them has been pulling away from the tub and looks horrible. I have trying since June to get this liner replaced. One of their service guys actually saw the liner and said, "The liner needs to be replaced!" It's been one excuse after another as to why my warranty suddenly isn't valid. First, they claimed I never paid the remaining $200 balance back in 2001! I faxed proof and then radio silence. Second, they claimed they gave me a 5-year-warranty back in 2001! Um, wrong again. I had a copy of the actual lifetime warranty that I also faxed and mailed over to them. I have current complaints on file with both the BBB and Attorney General's office. Do not do business with this company, unless you want to be stuck with a rotting, useless liner in a few years.

A week and a half ago, I had a free home estimate from Re-Bath sales reps Carrie and Rob. They gave me no brochures or other material indicating the price quoted. They spent a lot of time badmouthing competitors. Someone from the office called to follow up and left a voice mail on my home phone. I am not interested in going with Re-Bath, so I did not return the call.

Today, the same person called my cell phone. I answered and told him "I am not going with you. Goodbye." I hung up. (I was with a client at the time.) When I returned home, there was a message from this same male on my home phone, stating "Hi Robin, thanks for returning my call and hanging up on me." First of all, I never returned any call to him. I hung up the phone after I said goodbye and that I'm not using Re-Bath. This display of unprofessionalism and immaturity is one of the reasons I will never use this service. If the office/sales staff acts this way, I wonder what their other service people are like. This is disgraceful!

On 10/10/08, I signed a contract to have our bathroom done after the sales rep measured, reviewed, and settled on a price. 3 days later, the company owner called and said that the bill made a "math mistake" and the job went from $6178.00 to $11,339.00! After much yelling on my part, he graciously brought the price down to $8146.00. I stood firm and said we had a signed contract with a 50% deposit on my credit card. They never processed the deposit, but they refused to honor the original contract. I do not have anything in writing from them denying the contract, just verbal. I thought that they had to follow through with the original contract. Am I wrong? They did not start any work. So other than a breach of contract, only emotional stress resulted. If I canceled their contract that way with a phone call, I would have been sued or they would have kept my $3089.00 deposit. They should be held accountable for their end of the contract.

I signed a contract with Re-Bath of Connecticut dated 5/5/09 to have my upstairs bathroom renovated. The installation date on the contract is 7/2/09. I paid a deposit of $2,365, which is 50% of the price, up front. The sales rep said there might be a slight delay due to an office move, but the job would be done at the latest by the end of July. It is now August and Re-Bath still has not even scheduled the job. Further, they moved and did not provide a valid new address or phone number. I went to the supposed new address, and it is the 2nd floor of a 2-family house. The phone number had a recording, "You have reached a restricted number." I also went to their old address, which is still given on their website as their address, and it is vacant.

I faxed the corporate office of Re-Bath in Arizona, also left messages for them, but did not get a reply. I went in person to the insurance company whose Certificate of Insurance Re-Bath has. The insurance company verified that they insure Re-Bath but tried to call while I was there and could not get a hold of Re-Bath either. Today, I got a phone call from Re-Bath's scheduling clerk, Grace. She told me they are now located at North Haven, CT 06473 with phone (203) 764-1600 (Her number showed up on my caller ID as 1601). She says she still does not have a ship date when the materials for my job will be trucked to Connecticut from Re-Bath's facility in Arizona. I asked, "When did you order the materials?" and she could not tell me a date. She said she didn't know whether the office in Arizona had received the order because she does not have a confirmation from them.

In the meantime on my answering machine, I got a call from Amy in the Arizona office, merely telling me the new Connecticut phone number and advising me to call there to get my problem resolved. According to the CT Dept. of Consumer Protection, under Connecticut law, if it is 30 days past the scheduled date and substantial work has not been done, I have the right to cancel the contract and demand that Re-Bath refund my payment. From what Grace told me today, no substantial work has been done. She did not have any confirmation from the Re-Bath materials fulfillment center that they had received her order. No materials have been delivered to the job site.

Furthermore, the CT Dept. of Consumer Protection says the language of Re-Bath's contract is in violation of CT law, as contractors are required to give a definite start date and completion date, not an approximate date as their contract says. I have sent a certified letter (also by regular mail) to both of the new addresses demanding refund of my $2,365 deposit by 8/17 or else I will take further action. I have also filed complaints with the CT Dept. of Consumer Protection and the Better Business Bureau of CT.

In October 2008, I started the contracts and ordering of materials for remodeling of 2 bathrooms at a cost of $7000 with receiving a 10% cash discount. We paid all of the money up front because the owner seemed genuine and the corporation had been around for years. In January 2009, we're told materials were in and the contractor began demolition on the first bathroom. The contractor replaced some drywall, got the shower pan down and put up the cement board in the shower. He also took down half of a wall between the shower and the vanity that was going to be replaced with glass. The contractor was slow to get any work done and he didn't work full days.

Then the contractor just stopped showing up. The owner, Mr. Dave Fleming, of Monument, Colorado, gave the excuse that the contractor was sick. David showed up a couple of days to paint the bathroom walls and cabinets. He appeared to come clean and said that his contractor wasn't really sick. The real reason for the delay was that his contractor of 8 years took everything out of his warehouse and ran off with it. I was told that I'd get $1000 discount due to the issues and inconvenience, but never received it.

On February 15, 2009, Mr. Dave Fleming sold the company to the Denver office. We were told by Mr. Fleming that Re-Bath corporate would take over and complete the work. I called corporate office and after many messages later, I finally got a hold of someone who sent out a husband and wife team to assess where we were in the process around April 2009. They work for Am Bath, which remodels hotels and motels. They told me that Mr. Fleming left 80 other families in Colorado Springs in various states of bad remodels. He gladly took their money without remorse. Dave was also performing jobs he was not qualified to do, such as installing new cabinets, plumbing, and countertops, which was what he was scheduled to do in my second bathroom that fortunately he didn't start on.

My re-evaluation by Am Bath was in April 2009 and now it is late July 2009 without a phone call from them stating when my bathroom will be started. I started this process nine months ago and I am out $7000. My family of six cannot use the shower because it has been demolished. I am down to one bathroom. My upstairs bathroom remodel was not started. All I ask is for Re-Bath to either give me my money back (preferred) or finish the job in a timely matter, but being timely isn't a quality that they embrace.

Due to my wife's leg problems, we had to do a tub to shower conversion at the cost of $7000.00. They DID not anchor the base solid. The base now bounces like a trampoline and you lose your balance when you have to move around. It is very unsafe. They have been here twice to look at the problem and, both times, they agreed there is a problem. The installer and the Re-Bath's main office do not return phone calls. This has been going on for 5 months.

Gave Re-Bath a 50% deposit in August of 2008 to do the hall and master bathrooms. They ordered a 36 shower base instead of the 38 base that was currently in the bath. They discovered this after they demolished the existing shower. They tried to fool me into thinking they could make this the same size as the old shower. I would not accept this and told them to order the correct size. They also damaged the ceiling in the kitchen below the bathroom. Then they did a sloppy patch saying they would fix it later. Now I no longer had a working bathroom. They told me they would rush order a new shower base and doors.

After 5 weeks and no calls, I phoned them. I was told they would call me in 1-2 weeks. Still no call 2 weeks later. I called them and was told the boss was out of the office. Left my name and number for him to call back. Never called back. At this point, 7 weeks later, called Corp. HQ in Tempe, AZ. They took the info and opened a complaint file and nothing else happened. I gave them over $5,100 as a deposit and they are not getting back to me. I sent them a certified letter.

Now I have hired a new contractor to fix their damage and have to take them to small claims court for the deposit and repairs to the bathroom and kitchen. BTW they are not cheap. The cost for 2 very small bathrooms only doing the tub shower and walls was just under $20,000. They hit you with outrageous costs when they come to your home to reset toilets and vanities that they needed to remove to put up their walls. Do yourself a favor and get real tiles. The cost is about the same.

While removing the shower drain, the worker damaged the ceiling directly below this in my kitchen. This was a brand new ceiling installed when I remodeled the kitchen 5 years ago. The ceiling split and bulged open. I was sitting directly under there and just moved out of the way in time as I thought to myself that the ceiling might come down the way he was pounding away above me. Then they demolished the master bath.

After demo they realize they had the wrong size. They started to build out the walls of the shower to compensate for their mistake and I stopped them immediately when I saw what they were doing. They ripped everything down, removed their tools and have never returned. They left the sink in the hall bathroom unfinished after lying about what they had done to switch the doors and drawers around because of the interference with the water valves. They charged me $625 and told me they would finish the job the next day. Of course they didn't, but they got that money plus I paid over $5,100 in deposit money for the master bath that they left ruined. Terrible, terrible customer service. I am a single woman and feel they took advantage of this situation. They are predators in my view. Stay away from Re-Bath.

I called Re-Bath to come and remodel my bathroom. Re-Bath was very slow at returning my call and when Re-Bath finally did return my call, Re-Bath was rude on the phone. Re-Bath finally came to the house only to have Re-Bath send an arrogant Re-Bath representative. The Re-Bath snake oil salesman wanted $7000 to remodel my bathroom. I asked about a local competitor and the Re-Bath guy proceeded to bash the competition, never a good sign. They then pressured me to sign with Re-Bath. Needless to say, I didn't sign with Re-Bath.

On the ReBath.com web site, I typed my zipcode to find the installation contractor in my area. ReBath is a franchise business located in Arizona that supplies acrylic tub and wall liners. Weatherly had the franchise to sell and install ReBath for my area. I signed a contract 5/15/08 for installation of Re-Bath, and wrote a check for $1,750 payable to Re-bath.

On 7/7/09, I called Glen (of Weatherly) to ask how the order was coming along. He stated that they had not yet ordered the parts because they were having trouble getting the money together. I immediately called Re-Bath and spoke with Heidi. Re-bath had no record of me. I faxed my contract to Re-Bath, and was told that Weatherly ceased being an authorized installer as of 6/10/08. I called Glen Carwile and demanded my money back. He said OK. The next day, I got a voice mail from Kevin of Weatherly. I called him back late afternoon. He said Glen tells me you're having concerns about the contract. I stated that Glen said that parts had not yet been ordered. He stated Glen doesn't know.

Then I brought up the termination of Weatherly's franchise agreement on 6/10/08. He said Weatherly cut off Re-Bath (not Re-Bath cut off Weatherly), and I replied that I didn't see what difference it makes. The situation is the same. Weatherly can no longer install Re-Bath. Kevin of Weatherly stated that he could complete his contracts. I've complained to the BBB, Fairfax County Consumer Protection Services, and Virginia Board of Occupational and Professional Licensing. Fairfax County sent him my complaint with 10 days to reply, and he did not reply. A second letter with 7 days to reply just went out.

My $1,750 check payable to Re-Bath was cashed by someone other than Re-Bath. No acrylic liner has been ordered. No work has been done.

Bath tub is getting blue in color. It is impossible to clean it. I had called them last year and they came with a new bath rub after the inspection. At the end they used some kind of chemical and the blue color went off. Only after few days usage, Tub again became blue in color and once again it is impossible to clean it. Last week i called maintenance person from my apartment to clean it. It is impossible for him also. He stated "this kind of tub should be easily cleaned. It must be some material problem."

I called them today again and waiting for them to call me back.
