I cannot believe how much Sherwin Williams charges for paint. I went in to buy 1 gallon of their emerald paint only to discover that it was around $120 per gallon. Another store's equivalent was $55.00. Needless to say, I will not be giving them my business in the future.

I am a retired professional. I painted two identical walls in my home with the same knock down texture. I use Glidden Diamond on one wall and Sherwin Williams Duration on the second wall using a heavy nap roller for heavy texture and brush on both walls. Both walls were a change from light beige to a dark green. The Glidden wall took about an hour to cut in and roll. The coverage was a one coat deal. On the other hand, the Sherwin Williams duration wall took three coats with a roller, and then I had to spend an hour dabbing the little brown spots that it missed. The Glidden was a $31 investment while the Duration cost was $81.

I bought my home in 8-2019, the paint color is a medium blue color. After 5.5 years the paint is now almost white. The Sherwin Williams store wants to blame the painter for which paint they used. The painter bought the paint at Sherwin Williams so obviously they sell different varieties of their paint. The can says 15 year warranty but this warranty has nothing to do with the color fading. The Sherwin Williams Corp team could care less about their product and what it looks like, only if they can sell it. So now I have to pay to have my home repainted in less than 6 years of owning. Piss poor product.

My Sherwin Williams store is here in Colorado Springs on Nevada. I have always depended on Sherwin Williams for their product and service but I have to shout out extra kudos to Amanda and Amund for their expertise in matching paint and stain. They were spot on in just a short time. I would give higher stars if I could.

I work for a well known Renovation and Design company in Chesterfield MO. We use Sherwin Williams paint products on all of our projects, interior and exterior. Aside from the amazing products and the warranty that comes with it is the service! The local store manager Jeff, assistant manager Dana, and Alexis their regional rep. Have always been the best resources of products and services! They and the staff always go above and beyond to see that not only us but our customers have the best info and products for the job. On site help and deliveries, they do it all! My job is paint and customer service, they make it easy. For that and more I thank them all! Including Edith, Todd, and Chad!

Sherwin-Williams Review. This review is long overdue, but it’s well-deserved. I consider Sherwin-Williams to be one of the best businesses you can work with, especially when it comes to painting a commercial plaza. We were fortunate to have a small plaza that needed significant work, including painting the exterior. Sherwin-Williams offers an incredible free service where you can send in photos of your project and get paired with a designer to help select the perfect colors and their distribution.
The team was outstanding—professional, knowledgeable, and helpful throughout the entire process. A special thanks goes to Olivia, who visited the plaza to meet with me and acted as the bridge between me and the commercial designer. She provided a rendering and an interactive link that allowed me to experiment with different color options, giving me a clear vision of the final result. Olivia was patient, attentive, and genuinely cared about ensuring I was satisfied with my choices.
The quality of Sherwin-Williams paint speaks for itself, but the personalized consultation and attention to detail set them apart. Whether you’re working on a commercial or private project, I highly recommend Sherwin-Williams. Their free consultation service shows how much they value their customers, and their excellent products make them the only choice for me. Thank you to Olivia and the entire team for making this project a success!

1805 Lancaster Dr NE, Salem, OR 97305. Unless you are a contractor avoid this location and shop at the 4759 Lancaster location. I have a paint formula for a 20 year old Dutch Boy Dirt Fighter paint color, but despite Sherwin Williams being the parent company of Dutch Boy I was told they could not mix my color. Store management was of no assistance either. The other Salem location on 4759 Lancaster was able to mix the paint with the old DB formula and it's a perfect match!

I’ve been painting for 44 years as a professional painter. I’m a Benjamin Moore user so I decided to try the Sherwin-Williams showcase advertise on the can coverage guaranteed three coats took to go over the existing wall color which was a medium blue with a light yellow green that I painted with over the blue, pure garbage and false advertisement. Stay away from this product. Over $50 a can. Don’t waste your money.

I needed my paint to match the older paint in my bathroom. There was a large white space where a medicine cabinet had been removed. I took a small sample to your Southgate store and the young lady did an EXCELLENT JOB mixing, then matching the exact hue and shade of the paint. I only had to paint it once! (See photos).

In 2018, I decided to clean, then over-paint some of the exterior walls of our house as they were starting to look a bit dull and worn. There was no need to paint the entire house, so based upon the recommendation from an experienced contractor, I purchased one gallon of Sherwin Williams Emerald Exterior Acrylic Latex Paint. I needed to get a color match for some Kelly Moore paint I had used originally, which the local dealer was able to do for me, and they did a pretty good job.
The SW paint was fairly easy to work with (I painted by brush) and the coverage was good. The drying time was good as well. The price for this paint is outlandish, so by the time I pay sales tax and environmental fees, it came to around $90 bucks. In addition, getting any sort of information or advice from this particular dealer was like pulling teeth. Customer service, as I found later, is certainly not at the forefront.
Fast forward to Spring of 2023. It was time to paint more of the house, so I pulled the can of paint from storage (where all the rest of my paint is stored) and found that the contents had separated, with the solids the consistency of thick pudding. After 20 minutes of stirring, the mixed contents had combined to the consistency of oatmeal. To make a long story short, the local dealer told me the paint had probably frozen and that it couldn't be brought back from the dead. I checked the rest of my various paint cans in the same storage space and every last one of them could be stirred to just about new condition: Benjamin Moore, Kelly Moore, Behr, Valspar...and some of these old cans were probably 10 years old.
Anyway, I needed to paint, so I purchased more, spending around $100 dollars for the gallon this time. Again, the paint itself was fine to work with, but not that much better than paint costing less. After a bit of touch up, I put what remained (about 3/4 gallon) back into storage. A year later, (a month ago), I brought my $100 dollar per gallon paint out to use and the same damn problem! There was separation and no amount of stirring, shaking would bring it back to life.
Back to the local dealer who put it on the shaker for 20 minutes and got the same oatmeal results. He told me that the paint must have frozen. I told him that none of my other paint had frozen. He looked at me with this blank stare on his face. He then asks "do you have a question here?" When I said "I can't afford to keep paying 100 bucks for paint that sucks, so yes, what are you going to do about it?" He just shrugged his shoulders and moved on to another customer.
In summary, I would say that the Sherwin Williams products did not work out for me. Do not plan to store the paint for any length of time if there might be even the remotest chance of it freezing. Unlike any of my other paints, the SW will go to crap and become unusable. The customer service was horrible and that there is no accountability for the product being sold. I am trying to remember when I have been treated with such disrespect, as if the dealer is all- knowing, and any grey-haired, do-it-yourselfer is dumb as a brick.

I am hugely disappointed in receiving a last minute email cancellation for a color consultation having made this appointment weeks ago and scheduled my week around it. This kind of service is unacceptable. As instructed, I sent the assigned consultant numerous pictures of my project and created a Pinterest page for their reference again as instructed. I never heard back from the consultant - ** - but trusted that the integrity of Sherwin-Williams would prevail. Unfortunately, they provided no acceptable rescheduling. Very disappointed.

06/24/2024, Went into the Oceanside NY, store on Long Beach Rd. Purchased 2 cans of grey primer spray paint ~$14. I give him $24 and ask him for a $10 dollar bill back. Billy says, "I only have 2 in the draw and besides it's a pain to count out the draw with a lot of singles at the end of the night." Thanks Billy for your lousy customer service, hope your draw count went smoothly.

I was not treated well the minute I walked their THEIR door. I bought one gallon of paint and shocked to find out it was over $100!! I took it home. Starting painting and it was the worst paint I ever had. It left bumps on my walls. Dried skin fast I couldn’t paint well. So now I had to sand that all off. And it’s been 3 days trying to get my money back. I will not use this paint again.

I have purchased paint from Sherwin-Williams 2x for major projects - both times they have cost me hundreds in labor due to inferior products, incompetence, and outright misinformation. Aside from this, the treatment from staff has been appalling. The first time I sanded 8 wood porch columns down to bare wood. This was their recommendation and took several weeks, and I purchased the primer and paint recommended by associates at SW in Danville, KY. It cracked and started peeling 2 years later - there was a 25-year warranty. Due to the listed warranty, I asked for a remedy. I was asked to cut out a paint sample for testing and for before/after photos. After several follow-ups, I received a supposed 80% discount on future paint.
I waited to redo the project since I no longer had the money to pay for help or the time to sand wood for a month. There was no record in the system when I called back when having the time. When calling back the current manager at the Danville, KY store (4/2023) felt she made it right by giving me a free can of other paint, stating "I don't know why that paint was recommended since it's not great quality." She also felt she needed to make comments and a point about the length of time that had passed between projects.
I thought this was a one-off event so I bought deck stain this same week from SW, the same store. After consultation, the associate told me to buy one gallon based on square footage and return the next day if I needed more. I ended up needing 3 gallons more. I drove 3 hours to retrieve paint that was supposedly in route all day long after repeat phone calls. I was lied to all day about the delivery time while I paid people to wait. I stated in the morning when I called SW I would be happy to drive to the other store. Soooo much snark from the SW associate at the Danville, KY store. Not helpful leadership interventions from the Danville, KY store manager.
Zero accountability on any of this and when I arrived at the other store in Somerset, KY to pick up paint it was like the person - the assistant manager- was already ramped up after talking with the Danville store. He was breathing heavily, was aggressive, had an attitude, and was rude to me. When calling out his behavior he projected back to me as if I had been in the store or his presence for more than a few min. There was another exchange happening. Aside from all this hostility the paint is terrible. It took 4 gallons for a 300 square foot deck and it looks like cheap plastic. I regret wasting my time and money!

It’s so wonderful to go to a painting store and talk to experts that can give us advices, suggestions and help us to make the right choices when comes to painting. Sherwin Williams is by far the BEST painting store in the market. Their products will last for a long time. Your investment on their paintings has positive outcome. My Painting business The Master Painter’s LLC can’t imagine buying anywhere else but Sherwin Williams!

I have been a loyal Sherwin-Williams customer for over 15 years! I'm a small business owner in Central Florida and their price rate increases are ridiculous! I believe in my opinion, they are trying to put the small businesses out of business! How is it that I am to be competitive and my pricing to my customers when you guys are raising prices across the board for every product used! The only way that I would be able to do it would be to do like the underhanded crappy painters and water your product and you have us work, well guess what buddy, that's not me, that's not my company!! So I guess unless you guys get your heads out of your butts, I'll be going elsewhere, not that you'll care!!

Today, I had the unfortunate experience of being assisted by Nick. I found Nick to be extremely unhelpful and offendingly unfriendly. I was clearly an unwanted interruption and an annoying inconvenience to his day. I have had other similar experiences at this particular store, but with other employees. This was the worst encounter. I can’t help but believe that management bears some responsibility for an overwhelming lack of “excellent service and a highly trained and professional workforce”. I left the Sherwin Williams store empty-handed and tremendously disappointed. This was the last time I would subject myself to this type of abuse…There are simply too many options in the Plymouth area for similar products, than to patronize stores that obviously don’t value your business.

I have been an independent paint dealer for 24 years. SW reps, managers and even district managers show up constantly in my store posing as a “customer” to steal prices and hopes of customers. I’ve put up with this childish crap for 24 years and I’m getting sick of their antics. They watch my parking lot with binoculars call everyone who comes in my store and stalk them to their homes and job sites. What kinda creeps are they hiring?!? I opened my store cause people were tired of the creeps they had running their place. Just be advised with the quality of people you run into in their stores. You may be the next one they stalk.

We have old paneling whose surface turned powdery and sloughed off in places. We had put off painting because my husband liked it as it hid many dings and scratches, but he finally agreed to let me paint it. I used Super Paint as it isn’t quite as thick as the Extreme, which I thought would make it easier to get into the grooves in the paneling. My husband said I should apply 2 coats, but after the first coat had dried, it had such great coverage a second coat wasn’t needed. I hated having to paint inside every groove, and it took me 8 hours of continuous painting to finish a 10x12’ sunroom, but the finished result was well worth it. The room is lighter, looks bigger, and far more attractive.

I charged the customer labor & material in her invoice. She still owed me over $2000 for the job and she expected me to give her the paint! So because of this she tells Sherwin Williams to not sell to me and that is just what they did. Irondequoit ny sherwin williams refused to sell me a sprayer or anything else. Bought White Pigmented Shellac Primer to cover RED painted walls on the recommendation of our local SW store. The primer is the viscosity of water. Keeping it on a roller without dripping was nearly impossible (dripped and then speckled paint all over once I started using the roller against the wall). Dried immediately so any "wet" edge left a bubble. I went online and found an application video posted by SW on youtube and it showed a professional painter (totally suited up) using it in a paint sprayer. (This primer was on the DIY site for SW....so I called two different stores and all insisted it can be applied by a roller!) The primer is probably perfect for a sprayer but definitely too thin for any other type of application. I wasted $72 on something I cannot use in the house.

Wife and I have years of experience painting and have liked SW in years past but they have clearly cheapened the recipe. It's thinner and doesn't cover well at all. It was a complete waste of money. We deeply regret starting a large project with this garbage paint. We will never buy SW again. This paint is the equivalent of a dollar store guitar. By the way, they also reduced the amount in the can from 128 oz (1 gal) to 124 oz, but still charge $55 per can.

I went to two different stores. I was hoping to get better service. The first one the girl didn't know the paint I wanted was on sale. She kept telling me it's not until she actually checked like she should have the first time around. The second store, the lady wanted to know what I had used before, why I was choosing this product and on and on. All I had asked her to do is to show me the color I saw online and to make sure it look the same in the store.
When she finally did I told her it looked different and no I didn't want that color and gave her a swatch of what I wanted instead. She left the counter to go get me the color I didn't want. It was like she was in her own world and didn't want to hear what I was saying. Horrible attitude. Was in a mood to argue with someone. I told her never mind and thanked her for her time. As I was leaving she mumbled something under her breath. Why? I don't understand the quality of workers this place has. Unhappy, miserable and have no clue of the specials they have. It's really sad.
