OneGuard Home Warranties plans

OneGuard Home Warranties serve home buyers, existing homeowners and home sellers in Arizona, Texas and Nevada with home protection plans, helping them fix major household systems and appliances that breakdown. They also offer home maintenance services not typically covered by other companies, such as HVAC tune-ups, carpet cleaning, pest control, weed kill treatment and landscaping.

OneGuard offers homeowners three plan to choose from to fit their needs and budgets:

  • ApplianceGuard: This plan covers nine home appliances, like refrigerators, washers and dryers, and nine special services, including carpet cleaning and pest control. No systems are covered in this plan.
  • SystemGuard: This plan covers 13 home systems and similar special services and optional coverages included in the ApplianceGuard plan. No appliances are covered in this plan.
  • HomeGuard: This plan covers both major household appliances and home systems and includes all items covered under the ApplianceGuard and SystemGuard plans. Additional services are available under this plan, including HVAC and garage door tune-up services. More add-on options and upgrade coverage are also available as part of the HomeGuard plan.

OneGuard Home Warranties cost

OneGuard home warranty costs vary among the three states covered, but overall, plan prices range from $32 per month to $59 per month. OneGuard’s service call fee is set at $69 across all plans, which is also on the lower end compared with the industry average, which ranges from $60 to $125. You can request a free quote from OneGuard Home Warranties to get an exact price for your home.

OneGuard Home Warranties coverage

OneGuard provides ample coverage for both appliances and systems. They also provide services less common to the home warranty industry, like carpet cleaning, lawn care and pest control. These services are included in all three of their standard plans, which is a huge advantage in OneGuard’s favor. Preventative features like termite treatment and system tune-ups can save homeowners money in the long run.

The company’s largest coverage plan is the HomeGuard plan, which covers the following:

  • Built-in microwave
  • Dishwasher
  • Garbage disposal
  • Kitchen refrigerator
  • Ranges
  • Trash compactor
  • Washer and dryer
  • Air conditioning system
  • Ceiling and exhaust fans
  • Central vacuum
  • Ductwork
  • Electrical system
  • Extended mainline plumbing
  • Garage door opener
  • Heating system
  • HVAC equipment incompatibility coverage
  • No-fault coverage
  • Plumbing system
  • Preferred upgrade coverage
  • Water heater
  • HVAC tune-ups
  • Carpet cleaning
  • Ceiling fan and light fixture installation
  • Dryer vent cleaning
  • Free security system
  • Garage door tune-ups
  • Lawn fertilization
  • Lawn pre-emergent weed control
  • Lawn weed kill treatment
  • Pest control system
  • Re-key and garage remote re-program
  • Security alarm coverage
  • Termite treatment
  • Utility connection services
  • Window cleaning

OneGuard offers optional add-on coverage for additional appliances, like a second refrigerator unit, and other items like pools and spas, guest houses, septic systems, sprinkler systems, water softeners and well pumps. A full list of optional coverage is available on OneGuard’s website.

OneGuard Home Warranties coverage exclusions

OneGuard’s service contract does not cover known pre-existing conditions, which is pretty standard in all home warranty contracts. In addition, unknown pre-existing defects are not covered unless outlined under their “no-fault coverage,” which covers certain issues due to rust, corrosion and improper maintenance, repair and installation. Generally, the homeowner is responsible for routine maintenance. OneGuard holds the right to not provide coverage for repairs that result due to homeowner negligence. This includes any issues caused by factors outside of normal wear-and-tear, like misuse or abuse of the items. The contract, like most home warranty contracts, also will not cover cosmetic defects or commercial grade systems or appliances.

OneGuard places certain coverage exclusions on individual systems and appliances. These exclusions are generally related to small parts and accessories or other items that aren’t essential to the core function of the appliance or system. For example, when it comes to refrigerator coverage, all mechanical parts are covered, including the ice maker and ice/water dispenser, but removable equipment such as shelves, racks and drawers are not covered.

Any repair to a component listed as a coverage exclusion will be the responsibility of the homeowner. You can find a full list of exclusions via OneGuard's sample contract.

OneGuard Home Warranties coverage limits

The maximum limits for appliance and system coverages range from $250 to $2,000, while the maximum limits for optional coverages range from $500 to $2,500. Prices may vary slightly from state to state.

OneGuard sets individual coverage limits for certain items. This is the maximum payout they will provide. If a repair or replacement costs more than the coverage limit, you would be responsible for paying for the difference. This is standard on most home warranty contracts, and OneGuard places these limits on very few of their covered items.

ItemOneGuard’s coverage limit
Kitchen appliances$2,500
Ductwork$500
Glycol, hydronic, steam or geothermal HVAC systems$1,500
Permits and code upgrades$250
Plumbing leaks obstructed by concrete$1,000
Weed kill treatment, yard landscape maintenanceUp to 10,000 square feet

OneGuard Home Warranties claims

Claims can be submitted 24 hours a day, 7 days a week via a toll-free number or online. OneGuard promises you will receive a return call from one of their approved service providers within four hours during business hours, which is much faster than the industry average of 24–48 hours.

How to request service from OneGuard:

  1. Submit a claim online or by calling OneGuard’s toll-free number as soon as you discover a problem.
  2. OneGuard will contact one of their approved service contractors who will contact you within four hours (48 on weekends and holidays) to schedule an appointment.
  3. Pay the service call fee and have the repair made.

Service recall period: Should the repair fail or the same issue occur again within the 30-day recall period, OneGuard will send another technician to make repairs without charging you an additional service call fee.

Emergency service: OneGuard defines emergencies as any condition that makes your home uninhabitable, such as interior flooding, complete loss of heat or cooling in extreme temperatures or substantial loss of electrical service. In the event of an emergency, OneGuard will make all efforts to expedite your service. 24-hour emergency service is available for interior flooding.

OneGuard Home Warranties FAQ

Is a home inspection required by OneGuard Home Warranties?

No. A home inspection is not required to get coverage from OneGuard. In respect to filing a claim under the “no-fault coverage” option, a visual inspection may be needed to confirm whether the breakdown was caused by an unknown pre-existing condition. This inspection can be performed by a licensed contractor or a state-certified home inspection.

Is there a cancellation fee for OneGuard?

Yes. If you cancel after the contract’s effective date, a $50 administrative fee will apply. You can cancel your OneGuard contract at any time and will be entitled to a pro-rated refund on the remainder of your contract.

Can I choose my own service provider?

No. OneGuard has an approved list of service contractors they work with and will match a contractor with you for each service. Any work done by an unapproved service provider will be at your own cost, as is standard to all home warranty contracts.

Still have questions?

Is OneGuard worth it?

OneGuard home warranty plans are flexible, affordable and come with low service call fees. Homeowners have 24/7 claim access, and OneGuard reports the fastest response times in the industry. Aside from standard coverage, they offer a wide variety of home care and maintenance services not typically offered by other home warranty providers. The biggest drawback is that OneGuard is only available in Arizona, Nevada and Texas. OneGuard is a trusted leader in the home warranty industry and is known for generous coverage options.

I would strongly recommend finding a different company as soon as possible. I have been a customer for nearly four years, paying $76 per month. Recently, I filed a claim for an issue with my washer and paid the $75 service fee. The plumbers they sent initially stated the problem was fixed, but it was not. When I called again, the same company returned and identified an additional issue. Ultimately, OneGuard chose to issue a check toward a replacement washer; however, I was charged an additional $75 for the second visit. This charge is unjustified, as the need for a return visit resulted from the contractor’s failure to properly diagnose and resolve the issue the first time. This experience reflects poorly on both the company and the contractors they employ. I am extremely dissatisfied with the level of service and accountability demonstrated.

3/9/26 Called One Guard Home Warranty about a stinky smell when the A/C turned on, they sent out service, the report was the Gas Pack had holes in it and needs to be replaced, he had to turn the gas off because it was dangerous. He sent his report to One Guard. 3/16/26 Called One Guard again, put on hold and no one ever came back on. 3/25/26 Called One Guard again, all the people spoke very broken English and we could never understand them, so asked to speak with someone else, they said they would have someone call back, no one called back. 4/6/26 Called One Guard again, put on hold again and dead air and then disconnected. We have been a Home Warranty customer for 28 years and feel they should let us know what is happening. We are in Arizona and it is beginning to get HOT.

I have been with OneGuard warranty for over 4 years, my AC was not cooling and they sent a technician out very quickly because I had explained to them that I have a Child who has seizures who's trigger is heat. After the technician they came out they reach back to me with all kinds of excuses not to fix my AC, I had three people tell me 3 different reasons why I am suppose to pay $5000 plus out of pocket while they are only pay $1200.

The first one said my condenser was not covered and it was and in my contract, the second told me to read section 3 of my contract which did not even apply to me, then the third person who is supposed to be a supervisor said there was a modification that says they cannot fix HVAC which is not in my contract. I have contacted a lawyer and they will be hearing from my lawyer, if anything happens to my Son they will be held liable for it as well. This is the worst warranty company on the planet, I will let everyone who has ears know about this company who collects money from people and run from their responsibilities.

Awful company - after 7 years of paying for this warranty, my ac went out. Not only did it take a week for the repair person to get there, but they also refused to cover the replacement of the compressor because they said a power surge caused the failure. I had an electrician come out and they confirmed that they saw no evidence of a power surge and a second hvac company also confirmed that the damage was most likely due to aging equipment. I appealed the decision with One Guard via their contact us page because there is no email address anywhere. To date, I haven't received an acknowledgement let alone a reply. At this point, I will be filing a formal complaint with the insurance commission and letting any and everyone know how they choose to operate and treat their customers.

I've been a loyal customer, but very disappointed with this company. My monthly premium was raised twice in one year without notice. When I called in to ask about it, instead of helping me, the representative canceled my policy without confirming with me. Very unprofessional and careless customer service. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

OneGuard does not deserve my one star. Horrible company. STAY AWAY. We have been without an A/C in our home for 3 weeks now. We requested service on 7/8/25 and today is 7/31/25. They offered us $800 check or we pay $2000 for them to fix it. They claim that our A/C requires "modification" where in fact the two OEM parts that our A/C requires (fan & control board) are available in the market, though out of state.

OneGuard uses the word "modification" to avoid honoring their obligation. Modification implies parts are not available and a retrofit job is needed. Their own A/C contractor that inspected our unit confirmed in writing that the parts are in fact available. Please before you sign up, go see their Google and Trust Pilot reviews. They are horrible.

Great company as long as you don't need service! AC failed in 116-degree weather and after dealing with customer service at foreign call center we were told us it would take a week to get a contractor to the house. The contract defines an emergency as "a complete loss of heating or cooling in extreme temperature conditions" and they will make all reasonable efforts to expedite emergency service. Obviously, their idea of extreme, reasonable and expedite are not the same as mine. After three days and numerous calls (and never a promised call back) we are still being told it will be several more days before their ONE ac contractor (in a state known for its' summer heat) can service our unit. Totally disgusted with the lack of professionalism and empathy. After six years premiums I'm definitely re-thinking the value of this contract!!

Called service to One Guard Home Warranty on a Thursday. They assigned the service to Grace Air and Heat out of Fort Worth. Grace responded promptly. Friday was told they couldn't get anyone until the following Tuesday. In the meantime, I contact THC Mechanical out of Bedford, who does my bi annual preventative maintenance. They sent a tech by the name of Drew out within two hours. He was at my home for over three hours. System was putting out warm air. Drew put the gauges on and said was really low on freon. Got out his drum and scale and added freon. System worked great but we knew there was a leak. Saturday, they followed up with a call asking how everything was. Putting out cool air.

Sunday, they called and told them the air was warming up. THC Mechanical came out and checked system out, installed more freon and recommended we install stop leak. I declined due to the nature of warranty companies looking for any reason to deny claim. I also text Grace Air and Heat, informed them system was cooling. Could they bring out a freon leak detector.

Tuesday, tech from Grace Air and Heat came out. I asked if he had a leak detector and he asked why. Told him I text the company back on the same thread they text me previously. Asked what was done and I explained THC Mechanical came out and put gauges on system and determined very low on freon. Then the tech called his boss, Brandon, who owns the company and said I put freon in my system. When I came back down, he told me he was leaving and I asked him why. He said he told Brandon his boss that I put freon in my own system and his boss said they would work on it. Then I told him to call him back and tell him the truth that THC installed the freon. Didn't matter.

Then Brandon, the owner of Grace Air and Heat, called One Guard and stated I put a contaminant in my system and they wouldn't work on unit that another contractor worked on per One Guard's policy. One Guard denied claim saying 1. I installed a contaminant and 2. had a company come out and work on my system that wasn't authorized by One Guard. What evidence was there a contaminant was put into system. THC Mechanical out of Bedford is a reputable company, nice vehicles, very professional uniforms, very knowledgeable. They didn't show up in an old jalopy, didn't have tattoos on their arms like Grace Air and Heat. They were knowledgeable, unlike Grace Air and Heat.

Furthermore, they have never lied and falsified information to a warranty company. Now you have a warranty company deny a claim stating a federal and state licensed company can't work on my equipment and a contaminant was installed. Case closed... BEWARE OF GRACE AIR AND HEAT and ONE GUARD DENYING A CLAIM WITHOUT any evidence to support the TECH'S alleged findings.
