We had a claim to OneGuard for an appliance and our garage door. The claims process was very easy. Considering I pay 800 for the entire policy, and the oven was $700 and the garage door was like 300, they already saved me money.

We took a one-year warranty from One Guard. Our HVAC unit went out on the 3rd month, so we called for One Guard to file a claim and get service. The company (Speedy Electric & A/C) they sent out said that the compressor went out and needs to be replaced and OneGuard will cover it. They said the filter caused the damage. While the filter was not that dirty since it's replaced 3 months back. The airflow was fine. The air filter for the upstairs unit was dirtier than the one that broke. This home warranty is a waste of money and this company is nothing more than a scam. Their contractor will say something to you and report a different thing to Oneguard company. I've used many home warranty companies, but this is the worst. Don't waste your money and time on them

Everything's good with OneGuard. My latest claim was for a hot water heater. That was probably two years ago and the experience was good as far as the tech's work was concerned. He did call one of his buddies who was in the water damage mitigation business and had him come up. Maybe he was getting a kickback from the water damage mitigation company because they came up fairly quickly and quoted a really high price to repair water damage surrounding where the water heater was. I was immediately suspicious. So, I called somebody else, and they came in with a much lower quote.

I have a claim for my air conditioning unit and OneGuard has been very helpful. When I first put the claim in, it took almost a week out before the first company could come out. I called and OneGuard was able to find me another company that could come sooner. And I’ve been going back and forth with that company, coming up with different things and what could be the issue with the AC. It turned out to be their problem at the beginning. But OneGuard has been working with me diligently as far as getting it resolved and I’m waiting now for the additional company to come out today to get it really resolved.

We had an issue with our refrigerator holding temperature in the refrigerator side. I submitted a request online and I got an instant notification via email saying who the contractor would be that would be coming out. Then, I got a call in under four hours from the vendor that OneGuard had chosen and we set up the service. The techs came out the next day and they replaced an item. We were also having issues with the icemaker, so they took a look at that. They had to come back out with parts a second time around and they replaced the icemaker components. But they were back out today again because the fix did not work.

We had a separate claim for an air conditioner system that was not operating and it would be nice if prior to them charging the service fee, they could let us know if, based on the diagnosis of what's happening, it really requires the home warranty intervening or just having a contractor come out. In our case, the techs came out and work wasn't covered. But it was pretty cut and dried based upon the symptoms of what was happening, that it was tied to something that was not going to be covered in the first place.

We have been with OneGuard for 8 years. Up until today, their coverage has been good. This week my 55 gallon Sears water heater started leaking. Everything that is readable in the contract simply says that water heaters are covered. There is no indication of a co-pay or fine print. OG had previously replaced our clothes washer at no additional charge. That is what I expected for the water heater. Imagine my surprise and disappointment when they told me it would be $960! You can buy a comparable Rheem at Home Depot for $780 plus installation. Bottom line: Water Heaters are not covered by One Guard. It is now time to renew our contract. This $1,212.00 renewal will not be happening.

For the most part, the techs that OneGuard got the job done and were professional. In a number of occasions, we've had to pay in addition to the $75 fee that they charge you every time we call the warranty service, which then makes you want to get a little bit smarter on when you should call them and when you shouldn't. Our experience with the locksmith was especially interesting. He got the job done, but it was very difficult to get a concrete timeframe when he would come to the house. He said he'd be here on a certain day and that he'd call when he was on his way, but he didn't give us at least a four-hour window, so we didn't have to be here all day waiting, because we had to be here when that was done.

We had a claim for the AC unit and the techs took a few days to come out. But for the next claim that we had for a running faucet, I called OneGuard back to see if they could get somebody out sooner because the first person we talked to told us someone would be out in four or five days. And the lady was wonderful. She called around while I was on hold and got somebody out there within the next hour. Aside from that, most of our stuff were repaired on the same day that the tech came out.

With OneGuard, you don't have to really search for someone for the problem. You can just call one person and they get in contact with the right people. If you're a new homeowner, it's convenient. When you have a claim with them, you can call or you can go online, but I find calling better. And as for the technicians, everybody has been professional, helpful, and happy to help educate, which is an important part of the service industry.

OneGuard is very easy to work with. Their contractors are either excellent or absolutely horrible. There's no in-between. But if I ran into a problem, I’d contact OneGuard and let them know. They've always sent a different contractor out. They've been very good about that. They just need to vet their companies that they work with better because some of them are real trash. The lowest bid is a factor, but it isn't always the best bet.

In May 2021, I requests a service call for a water leaking from the base of the commode. I knew all they needed to do was replaced the wax seal therefore IGD Plumbing was sent. Since I am a Senior Citizen and a woman, Tyler the repairman from IGD thought he could throw plumbing terminology at me to sound knowledgeable. He sound like an apprentice, not bonded or licensed that led me to record the conversation and take pictures. In addition, I notified OneGuard right after the visit of my uneasiness with him. I don’t know if it was notated because they notate what protects the company.

However, a week later the commode started leaking from the same area. Unfortunately, I got Tyler again from IGD and his inability to diagnose or resolve the issue says “Oh, the screw from the flange is loose” then proceeded to tighten them. One of the screw he tighten high broke the flange again. I contacted OneGuard for recall service. The flange was worn but not broken prior to the initial call. IGD caused more damage than repairs. I’d clean up the walk before he got there and water leak only when flushed. He did not see any water and I told him it happens when it flushed. He said, "I do not see any water" and One Guard will not authorized if he did not see any water so next time take pictures. Tyler says I can ogg the line if I wanted but does it require that. So he ogged the line but Yesenia ** says they did not charge One Guard which was odd.

My question is why would he say he ogged the line and not want to be paid for it. The reason is he lied to me about it so dishonest and these are the companies OneGuard sending into their customers' homes. I had pictures and my trust in his ability to resolve the issue or report to One Guard the truth…conversation was recorded again. I called OneGuard again and of course IGD was sent again to replace the flange but he wanted to repair the flange…how do you repair a flange? By that time I was done with incompetence action of IGD and specifically Tyler. I was very firm with my expectations for repair, he says, "You do not want the flange repaired so I need to come back." I said, "You were authorized to replace the flange not repair it" and he said, "I do not have a flange on my truck."

In between waiting for repairs, I asked OneGuard for a second opinion that knew what they doing. They sent Precision Plumbing. Company agreed the flange was the issue but OneGuard was looking other reasons not to honor the repairs. How is it the Plumbing Company do have what’s needed for repairs especially when you know what is required? I mention the second opinion and Tyler said why didn’t Precision make the repairs. To cover himself, he told OneGuard they would not return because I was rude. What?!

I have found that OneGuard uses different tactics to circumvent the licensing guidelines to contract with companies unlicensed and inexperienced repairmen. Therefore, the customers is out of pocket for repairs they should honor. Yesenia ** is the customer relation contact in which she attempted to gaslight me into accepting $650.00 for repairs to avoid any additional cost to OneGuard. They’ve done this to a lot of Senior Citizens and other customers for their bottom line.

In my research of this company, they were investigated under the name Landmark Home Warranty so One Guard Home Warranty created to continue to scam customers and use the loop holes to continue their business. The BBB complaints are all the same complaint and reviews so they are notorious for collecting premiums and not honoring repairs with disreputable vendors. This is a disreputable, conniving and crooked company!! If anyone decide to have OneGuard Home Warranty, do your research on them. As of July 26, 2021, my plumbing issue hasn’t been resolved and One Guard used 3 different reasons why it’s not covered.

Absolutely worthless home warranty company! Please don't waste your money. We've had our HVAC routinely maintenanced in our 40 year old home since we've owned it for 4 years -- & still constantly had issues and repairs every few months. Every company that came out told us it needed to be replaced but OneGuard refused to replace the 17 year old unit. We recently had a leaky coil that no company would touch because they were afraid of breaking the unit when they go to change it out. It got so bad that it began leaking underneath our floors. Again, they refused to do anything and said it was our fault for not taking better care of the unit despite it being rusty when we originally purchased the home.

Now we are going to have to pay 10k-20k out of pocket for a new unit and repairs. Keep the monthly fee and put it aside to pay for your repairs yourself -- they are also horrible to coordinate with as you have to use their contractors. It took them days to get back to us and get someone out to us despite having an active leak in our home.

I bought a house and was provided a one year warranty from One Guard. Our HVAC unit went out so we called for One Guard to file a claim and get service. The company they sent out said that the unit needed replaced and would not be covered by the home warranty. They said the filter caused the damage. While the filter was dirty, it was not preventing air flow and did nothing cause the unit to fail. It was no dirtier than when it is normally changed out. Faced with no air conditioning in the Texas summer, we opted to have the unit replaced. The home warranty is a waste of money and this company is nothing more than a scam. They pick the contractor and then don’t cover what their policy says it will.

I've used OneGuard half a dozen times in the last eight months and their service has been great. Everything's pretty much been good. I've done both calling and using the app when submitting a claim and either way, the turnaround time has been quick. Depends on how urgent the issue is, but the turnaround time has typically been quick on them calling me back and setting up the time. Sometimes, the time that it takes to get the warranty work done has been a little longer than I would have liked. But everyone has been very nice. They try hard, but everyone's booked up. But I have not had one issue or had to argue about anything that I felt was described in the program. If it was in the program, they just had it fixed. They didn't try to twist it or say, “That's a technicality. It doesn't qualify.” If it's in there, it got fixed.

My microwave handle and door broke so we weren't able to use the microwave. The techs came out and assessed the issue but they don't make the door anymore so OneGuard offered me money to get a new microwave. The techs did an awesome job. I was very happy with how it was.

My AC unit was leaking. I had this happened like two times before. OneGuard sent somebody and they noticed that the unit was not working. They changed the whole unit into a brand-new unit. The technicians were good, they knew what they were doing. The first ones are not so good though. They didn't even catch the leak. OneGuard's claim process is good. The only thing they need to work on is on their plumbing. I had an issue before this on the plumbing, and they never came to my house. They were like an hour away from me, and they took forever. I just had to cancel and call my own plumber.

We’ve been customers for 13 years. The last couple of years the hold times are incredibly long. Also, the lack of coverage is frustrating. You pay the company so that it’s there for you when you need them. There were many years we were not needing anything, now that we do most things are not covered or they cap coverage so much that the math doesn’t work and we are better off without them as a coverage company.

The repair guy came when he said he would, fixed the issue and left. OneGuard always had a sterling performance, which was why I kept recommending them when I was still active as a Realtor. They’ve always done a good job for me although I could have done without them merging with American Home Shield.

So far, we've been pleased with OneGuard. The service provided by the contractors has been good. Less wait time on the phone to reach OneGuard would be good though. The phone just rings and rings then it goes to an automated prompt. You got to keep going to get to a person and I'd rather go straight to a person. But once you get through, the reps are knowledgeable and they set the claim up.

The technicians have been very good. Somebody fixed our dishwasher, somebody fixed our oven, and somebody is working on the hot water heater.

Submitting a claim online to OneGuard is much easier but it doesn't give me the option of making additional comments. Also, it gave me an option to take a picture but it didn't allow me to upload the image from the phone. I have OneGuard for my own home and two of my rental properties so it gives the option of contacting me or the person I put in there. It is convenient to have the two contact names and two contact phone numbers added there and the relationship to the primary account holder. I could say that the name that I put in is a tenant and their phone number or cell phone number. When OneGuard texts with an update, it goes to both. I had an issue with one of the contractors before but when I called recently, that contractor was changed. So, that worked out okay. Overall, the experience is decent.

My mom started with OneGuard then she told me that I should try them out, so I did. I've also liked home warranties. They give me peace of mind when things just come up. But it's been a little challenging with OneGuard. Back in January, my water heater was leaking and I needed a plumber. They gave me the phone number for a plumber but the plumber couldn't come out until four days later. I didn't have an option and in the end, they had to cancel the order. I had to pay $1,600 out of pocket to cover the plumber because the walls were leaking in my nursery room and my laundry room. So, there was no help from my home warranty on that one.

Then, I had a billing issue. I have two properties with OneGuard and one card was on one account then they had another card on another account. The billing was a hot mess, plus I didn't even know that when they started at first with the home warranty, it skipped a month. So, that made me look late every month. Aside from that, when I needed a refrigerator compressor, I had to get my tenant a refrigerator because they were saying that it wasn't covered since I still had a 10-year warranty on my refrigerator. I had to go back to Sears and prove to them that it wasn't a 10-year warranty. It was only a five-year. So, I had to send all the documentation and at the time, I had to rent a refrigerator for two months because it took two months to fix that issue. Then, they finally decided to pick up the service for that and had it fixed. Recently, I had a claim for the AC and I'm glad that this time around, they were able to fix it.

Their customer service has been okay, too. When I escalated the issue with the refrigerator, the rep set the expectation that there was nothing that OneGuard would do for it and I told her that I would figure that out once I got the issue escalated. But she helped me out and reimbursed me half of what I paid for the refrigerator rental. I spoke to another young lady when I had the billing issue again and she took care of my concern. She was really nice and she figured out what the problem was.

OneGuard gives me peace of mind which is the main thing. Sometimes however, some of the providers are a little more challenging. I was appalled with the first vendor that they placed my claim with. They contacted me on a Thursday afternoon and said, "We can't get to you until next Thursday." I said, "Can you put me down for a cancellation?" They said, "No. But if you pay $100 additional, we can come see you on Monday. Or if you pay $50, we can see you on Saturday or Sunday." The vendor was wanting additional money for a vendor that I paid money for already under OneGuard. That was a little unsettling. I already pay for a service for the peace of mind then the vendor that OneGuard is going to send is going to charge me an additional $150. What's the point of having my warranty? I could find somebody for that same price or probably even cheaper to come out to my home.

I called OneGuard and told them the vendor claimed that they couldn't see me until the next Thursday. OneGuard called this other company, Horizon, and Horizon said, "Sure, we can come out to you on Friday." OneGuard had the vendor on the phone then I got an email from the vendor saying they were coming on Saturday. What Horizon told the OneGuard person on the phone was not what happened. So, as far as appointment setting, that can be a little better. Meeting commitments probably could use some improvement overall.

Submitting a claim was very easy. We called them the other night about the plumbing deal. The next morning, we get the call from the plumbing company and they're out before noon and got things fixed. So far, we've been real happy with OneGuard.

The one thing that would be nice would be to be able to select a date that I want the repair guy to come out. There's no way on OneGuard's site to choose a date. So far, the contractors have been all good. They come out once to repair the issue and it's done.
