Reported A/C problem on 04/23/2019. A/C finally fixed on 05/13/2019. Called multiple times and got different stories every time from OneGuard. This part had to be order from the manufacturer and programmed to our system. We told them from the beginning this had to be ordered only from Trane. OneGuard told us they could find the part elsewhere cheaper. Guess what? Two weeks later they discovered they could only order the part from Trane. Finally today, May 13th, we have A/C. THIS IS NOT THE FAULT OF THE CONTRACTOR BUT THE FAULT OF ONEGUARD! This was not a pleasant experience from OneGuard considering I called almost daily informing them we had an elderly sick father in our home.

The contractors work well, but one time they showed up and said they didn't cover the issue, but charged me the service fee. Still, I'm in my second year and service has been pretty good. Plus, their website is easy to navigate and submitting claims online has been pretty easy.

So far, my experience with OneGuard has been very positive. I've had several home warranties in the past and OneGuard is substantially better. The other guys did everything they could to make things difficult. OneGuard had sent excellent contractors. They were really quality people, and they did a great job. Also, the people at OneGuard answering the telephone are really sharp and very helpful.

Whenever I put something online on OneGuard, I hear back quickly and everyone that they've sent out has been wonderful. They have shown up when they said they were going to and been really personable. They have been quick to the point and I didn't feel like I was trying to be upsold or anything. They just went out and fixed the problem. We did routine AC service then something on our garage door broke, so they had to come out for that. We've also done carpet cleaning and stuff through OneGuard and the quality of their work was really good.

The people at OneGuard have been very courteous and nice. I filed a claim for the pool and I had to call the people back. The vendor wasn’t that happy about it. I called them first and they gave me a bad time. They told me not to call them and to call OneGuard. So I did and once OneGuard told them to get over here and get it corrected, they came over. OneGuard got it taken care of. I had two different people come up and the first was a very nice young man. The second guy who came out, and maybe it was because he had to come out again, was a little condescending.
But it was such a simple situation. I can't tell if the unit is working yet or not though. They had changed the timing on this thing so I can’t tell on the aquaphone if it’s right or wrong. He changed the time slot. It used to come on at one time and shut off at another time. But now, it comes on at another time and shuts off at another time. Nonetheless, I’m satisfied with OneGuard.

We moved into our 30-year old beautiful home 2 years ago and contracted with OneGuard on the recommendation of our realtor. We have NEVER been sorry! OneGuard has sent the finest contractors to our home for HVAC issues, washer/dryer, refrigerator, disposal, electrical, re-keying, ceiling fan replacement, lighting, plumbing, garage door and dishwasher repairs. It has paid for itself several times over, and we're renewing again!
All the contractors have been personable, professional, and fortunately for us, dog lovers. Each has gone above and beyond the contracted service requested. Francisco in Sales and Faith in Service have been stellar, explaining every step, option and coverage. Never any surprises, and great communication! I can't recommend them highly enough! They even remember the names of our mastiffs who remember them and greet them (maybe a little too warmly) on arrival. Kudos to all! Thank you, OneGuard! You are SO worth it!

While I've used OneGuard since we bought our house in 2015, their annual price has increased, and we can no longer afford their prices. Overall, the company was quick to respond to my service calls, and the companies they use are legit. My other downfall with them is this, if something happens on a Friday, you have to wait till Monday afternoon to get a callback. Our A/C went out in summer on a Friday, with 2 young kids, and we had to use fans to help get us through the weekend. Otherwise, great company, just pricey.

I like doing my claims with OneGuard over the phone because I can tell them exactly what I want. The process is pretty simple for me and I'm more comfortable doing it that way even if I know I can do my claim online. I like talking to people. With my water heater, it took a week for someone to come out. A week has been the longest timeframe I've had. For some things, it was two or three days.
The contractors who came were always fine. Some of them I like more than others. If you have a special request, you just tell OneGuard before they could do the whole order. That way, they won't have to start over. You can tell them you want to use a certain person and they can pull up the info and type that in. There was a guy that fixed my dryer and I called OneGuard and asked for him.

Had OneGuard with home purchase in Texas. Needed a plumbing repair for foundation transfer. All is fine with OneGuard. But don’t let them use SWAT Plumbing. We spent $4,000 in addition to what home guard covered. Three years later their fix failed. SWAT could not find their records in a timely manner and my now RE-repair was an emergency. SWAT Plumbing failed to get a permit and inspection. I am now spending another huge amount re-doing the work. I truly hope OneGuard discontinues their contracts with SWAT Plumbing. Not what you want for home warranty type work.

A one-year warranty with OneGuard came with the purchase of my condo. To renew for another year, they want nearly $600.00. In addition, you pay $69.00 for every service call. In the year I've had it, I've used it 3 times ($807.00 in fees). I would not have spent that much for the minor repairs I have had. And they get the service fee upfront, before anyone responds to fix your problem. For example, I called today about a non-working ceiling fan. My credit card was charged immediately, BEFORE anyone called me back about scheduling a visit to look at the fan.
When the fan company called, they could not even come out for 4 days. Meanwhile, what if I fix it myself? I've already been charged. It's good for an absentee owner, or someone not able to do any repairs themselves. Or if you buy a place that has not been well-maintained, and you think a number of things will fall apart. Or for a bigger house than I have. For a smallish condo in good shape, I would not buy it.

We call in and pay the service fee and the company that they're contracted with calls us and comes to our place within a week. I purchased a new home and I had got a list of all the home warranties. OneGuard had a better service call fee and they had a lot more better reviews. I file my claim requests with them over the phone and it's very easy. They have awesome reps. I'm usually called or texted when I should expect their contractors and the timeframe is usually an hour or two hours. Their contractors are very good. Everything is great after their repair.

I’ve had OneGuard Home Warranties for five years and things have gone well. They’re responsive and submitting a claim with them is easy. Online, it just takes about five minutes and a company will reach out to me within eight business hours. Recently, I requested service for an AC tune-up and I did it online. They called me to set up the appointment quickly. Then, the tech came out to look at my AC unit. I had to pay some additional money out of pocket additional to service fee but they were able to explain in detail why I had to do that. OneGuard is a good company to work with and I plan to continue using their service.

My water heater would not stay lit and it was under warranty. I had no hot water for four days and could not find any plumbers to help me asap. The company I bought the heater from no longer did plumbing or would honor the warranty. I called OneGuard and spoke to Brad ** in customer service and he went above and beyond to help me with my problem. After explaining my dilemma to him he briefly put me on hold and found a plumber who would come out the next morning. While I was talking to Brad the plumbing company called me right away to confirm my appointment. WOW! Service at the speed of light. Thank you Brad ** and OneGuard for your care and concern. OneGuard is claiming that internal damage caused by pool water INSIDE A POOL HEATER, is not normal wear and tear. Be aware of how this scam works. They send out their technicians, who rely on OneGuard for call outs. Both followed the company line, claiming pool water leaks in a 13 year old pool heater would not be considered “normal wear and tear”. When I offered to have my pool technician call them and explain why it was normal, they conveniently stated “that they do not take outside opinions into account”. Outstanding! Of course this is all after taking your monthly fee and call out fee. I am awaiting a call from customer service. I will update. But as of now they are continuing their denial of service. Beware!

OneGuard is really good, and they care about their customers. They have an awesome pay later program, so if you don't have the money that time, after your services, they'll come and pull it instead on that same day. Recently, I filed a claim for the garage. We usually call in to submit a claim and we tell them what's going on. And then, they send out information to someone and someone contacts us. After that, the contractor comes out and fix the issue the next day or some time the same day. Out of all the times that we've ever called into OneGuard, we only had one incident wherein they took us out of the situation and they took care of the issue themselves. Other than that, the contractors that have come out were awesome.

OneGuard helps out with whatever we need and they're good. We've had them for a year now. Our most recent claim was for the fridge. It was leaking and it wasn't making ice. I called and set up an appointment, and they had it fixed. The contractor that came out was really nice. They came on time and fixed the fridge completely. They got the repair done really fast.

OneGuard Home Warranties came with the house when we bought it and they have been great. Submitting a claim with them was an excellent experience. And they were fantastic. They responded and sent a technician. He diagnosed the problem and got it taken care of. Our dishwasher quit just recently. The tech was here the next day, but couldn't fix it because parts aren't made for it. OneGuard said to replace it and sent us a check for the new one. It was a little inconvenient, but it would've been, no matter who fixed it. They give excellent service and we're more than happy with the way they represented themselves.

We purchased the home in 2016 and the owners prior had OneGuard. They told us about them and we used them as well. Unfortunately, we've had to do a couple of claims, but our experience in submitting claims has been good. I also had insurance with my residence in Texas, but it wasn’t as easy as OneGuard has been. I have some big appliances in the home that have gone down and they have been efficient. My wife did the majority of the phone calls and we get a good follow-up on people coming out. The works have also been great and they’ve helped quite a bit with our something we've needed help on. They’ve been able to help out with the washer, the garage door, and the dishwasher.
I've had some good experience with the contractors they sent out, although we had one issue with the past one with the dishwasher. They weren't able to connect it because the valve was old and they needed the valve to be replaced. They were unwilling to do it and could possibly break the valve, so they had someone come out and fix the valve in the dishwasher in our garage, which was no problem. Then, they came back out once it was done and they did it quickly. I've shared about OneGuard to multiple people.

I have been a OneGuard customer for several years and have called them for plumbing repairs, carpet cleaning, etc. any number of times over that period. I have always had very satisfactory service. In addition, I have called them with questions where the answers have not always been readily at hand in the Warranty Information. I'm happy with OneGuard's service. Their service is excellent and they will like to try to find a person right away. Whenever I call them, the service is always right away, almost the next day. The last claim I submitted to them was for plumbing. I submitted the request and they told me that it was gonna be two days. The water was running, so I called back and they sent the guy the next day.

We got OneGuard Home Warranties as it was a part of the condition that our realtor had set up. We have them for two years now. Recently my hot water heater went out, and then we called OneGuard and asked if it was covered. They said that if it was normal wear and tear, then it would be covered. A guy came out and looked at it. 48 hours later, I had a new hot water heater. I plan on continuing with OneGuard. They’ve been really easy to use. I got OneGuard Home Warranties from my realtor and I have been with them for a year and a half. I called them up and told them I needed to do my annual AC checkup, and they contacted their vendor, who then contacted me for the appointment. The contractor came out on time. He got right to work and checked everything. He adjusted the fan in the attic, and then he went out and checked the AC unit itself. There was a part that was supposedly bad, so he went out to call OneGuard and referenced that. They had to come to replace it, and he replaced it all in the same visit.
The guy had checked a previous home prior to us and I guess he pulled the wrong ticket because he found a problem with their AC unit as well, and called OneGuard. They called me for approval to do it, and he wasn’t at my house. That was a miscommunication, more than anything else. Nevertheless, I’d recommend OneGuard.

We recently sold our house in AZ and had no control who the buyers went with as a home warranty company. When calling to cancel our policy because we no longer have the house we were informed that we would get a $50 cancellation fee. I understand if we still owned the house and were just canceling to go with another company but selling the house??? We couldn't transfer service either because they don't offer services in the state we are in. When explaining to the sales rep how I felt she went to her supervisor. The supervisor did not waive the fee. Horrible way to end a great relationship.

I’m on my third year with OneGuard and they're doing okay for me. But I figured they'd say, "Here is a veteran that served 30 years in the military. Let’s give a discount to him.” But none, whatsoever. I was wondering if they have ever heard of customer loyalty. There are a lot of other companies that we can choose and I can choose to drop OneGuard right now and pick somebody else. When the garbage disposal was not working, I called OneGuard and they put me in contact with the contractor for them to call me and set up a time. They set up today. The guy came in, took care of the problem, and went away. And the garbage disposal is working now.

We looked into getting a home warranty for protection around the house. Expenses pop up and we wanted to make sure we were covered. We've had OneGuard's home warranty for four years now and they've been great. My mom, brother, sister, and daughter also have this warranty. Recently, our heater went out and it was really cold when it wasn't working properly. I submitted the claim for repair and OneGuard called me within 30 minutes and got the contractor lined up. The contractor went out that day and the techs replaced the motherboard. The heater worked for a little while, then it didn't work again. The techs came out three times and made sure that the heater was fixed. I've recommended OneGuard to several friends.

I have four different warranties because I have rental properties, and I've had OneGuard for many years. Through those years, I have found contractors that are really good, and that's who I prefer to use. One time there was a contractor that didn't wanna do North Scottsdale where my home is, but I called another contractor who said, "No problem. I'll do it." And OneGuard went along with the program. Their response depends on what the problem is, though. Sometimes it's the same day, but it's hot in the summertime here in Arizona so if there's an AC problem, it could take two days. It's always a positive experience with OneGuard and I always refer people to them.

I've had OneGuard Home Warranties for so many years and I've stuck with them because of the combination of the location of where they offer their services as well as their price and value. Sometimes, it was darn inconvenient when something wasn't working properly. I usually submitted my claims with them online, but as I am a real estate agent I usually got to talk to the people in the real estate department and they've always been helpful and friendly. Every time I made a claim, I usually could count on hearing from the contractor in a very short period of time. Then they came at the appointed time and did the work. If the problem was something that they couldn't fix right away, then they came back to fix it. I would recommend OneGuard.

My real estate agent set me up with OneGuard Home Warranties. When you first get a home warranty, some companies will offer you roof coverage but they unfortunately didn't and I didn't realize. Because of that, I wasn't happy in the beginning. But now I keep them and I recommend this to my clients. I'm an insurance agent and OneGuard has a better customer service than the other company we're supposed to promote. Also, I like it because they offer window cleaning and things other than just the standard taking care of appliances and systems.
Submitting claims with them has also been easy. I prefer to call in but their online site and app are easy and self-explanatory. Once, I filed a claim for my refrigerator. That happened over the weekend and OneGuard doesn't do anything over the weekend so they got the order on Monday. However, they couldn't send somebody out that day. A repair company came out by Wednesday, but they couldn't fix the unit and OneGuard had to send somebody else out. Another company then came out the day after the next day. It was ridiculous. OneGuard even told me that I could rent a refrigerator. I'm a single person, how am I gonna go and get that refrigerator? I have to pay for delivery and everything.
If OneGuard set that up for me and took care of that, I think it would have been a much more pleasurable compared to me going and having to find out how much it would cost and whatever. I didn’t have time to take off work to wait for that among the times that I waited for the people to come over, which were half a day. When you don’t have a refrigerator for several days, it gets very annoying and I'm a single person. I can't imagine what that would be like if I had children. I didn't have a lot of food, but I had to throw out what I had.
I wasn't satisfied with that experience, but it was one bad compared to all the other good claims I've had. My first claim was for a water issue. OneGuard sent out Pruitt, which was a name that I have already heard, so I was pleased that they sent out a reputable company. I've also had them have my hot water tank fixed twice, as well as my garage door and they were good experiences. I even referred the garage door guy to my neighbor. They used him and they were also pleased. I've also used their lawn and electrical service and those were great experiences as well. I would recommend OneGuard Home Warranties.

You don't want to be without an A/C in summer in Texas. OneGuard took care of me and followed up to make sure my repairs was done. Yes it was. I just went online today to see if I could get a maintenance/tune up and Trisha ** via chat helped me to set up an appointment easily with no need for me to call in. She was polite and very helpful in answering my questions. I've been a customer for years and I am really glad they have my back. They do need more options on their service request website but I am happy the chat room works.

OneGuard is wasting my time and not yet fixed my refrigerator. On Thursday my freezer was not cooling. We called OneGuard on Friday morning and submitted a service request. They scheduled Flemmings Appliance for diagnostics on Monday morning. By Monday, my refrigerator stopped cooling completely. The technician who came said the compressor is broken and needs to be replaced. He noted the serial and model number and said he will order one and someone will come to replace it in a couple of days. Later, there was no update. We followed up with OneGuard and they said someone from 7 Star Appliance will come for second diagnostics on Wednesday.
I have 2 kids and have been eating outside food since the weekend. OneGuard did not even consider my situation and taking their time. When I asked if 7 Star Appliance will come to replace the compressor, he said NO. They will take a look and then order and again someone else will come to replace after another couple of days. Lesson learned is don't buy any home warranty unless you have another appliance (refrigerator in my case) which works. I am very sad that we had to trash 2 trash bins full of food including juice, milk, eggs and lot of long term staples. Above all, my 19 months old and my 7 year old kids are not able to drink or eat homemade food. I wish there is a way to cancel my contract with OneGuard and get my refund.

We had service performed by OneGuard Home Warranties as a part of routine maintenance. I called the 1-800 number and the techs came out after a couple of days at a mutually agreed upon time. They were fine and knew what they were doing. They were also confident, relayed what their findings were and they submitted a report to OneGuard.

They articulate what’s gonna go on and what the stages are. That's good. The contractors OneGuard has are very good as well. I have been a OneGuard customer since we purchased our home. We renew every year and it's going on for six years. It is super easy to submit a claim. I can do it online or call it in. Their online site is very easy to use. The contractors who came to our home had been very professional. There were only two incidences where they were not very good and the company took care of it immediately. They credited me another service for our future years and took care of the immediate problem. The quality of works performed in our home had been good. If it fails or we have other issues with it again, they come out and fix it.

I've been with OneGuard Home Warranties for five years now and I'm happy with them. It has been very easy to submit a claim and now that I'm living in the house rather than the rental, it's been easier. I had a rental management company before and sometimes they get all confused when paying the bill. One time, OneGuard told me I owed, but I didn't think I did because I thought the management company was managing that. But then I think they screwed up and I had to trust OneGuard and pay what I thought was paid. Since I moved down here, I've had a couple of claims and I have not had any problems. I just call OneGuard up, give them my information, they would write a report, tell me they'd refer, I pay with my credit card knowing that I owed a service fee, and we go on with business.
I live in Arizona now and homes here have some really bad water issues. I needed to kind of take care of some of those issues. The plumbing company that OneGuard referred to me was top-notch. They were very fair, quick, and efficient. I trusted them. I even got to the point where if I had to go to a doctor's appointment or something, I just leave the key, and they come in and do the thing and leave. The guy who has been here a lot was very good in explaining what was going in, what was normal and what was not, and what I can expect. We're also on first-name basis.
Also, once, I wanted to have all the dust on my furnace vent cleaned out. I called in and they said that it wasn’t covered, which I didn’t think it was. I asked if they had someone in mind I could call since I'm new to the area and they sent me a recommendation to someone who does things. When I called her, she only did clean dryer vents, which I could appreciate, but then she gave me a name of someone as well. So, everyone was really helpful. However, I wish OneGuard would accommodate my oldness. I wish that they would send me a bill, but I have to do it the modern way over the phone. I've gotten used to that, but I don't like it. But then I trust OneGuard enough that I feel okay with that.

UPDATE to "Fraudsters & Hacks" review on 11/7/19. The Washer warranty ended up taking over a month to resolve. Having been close to two weeks without a washer I decided just to buy one and deal with the warranty later. When they finally got back to me, they tried to replace a compact stackable washer with a full-size washer - presumably the cheapest replacement they could find. They then found the cheapest stackable washer they could find which was a different make. Even in their own literature, they indicate that different makes cannot be stacked, but even if you decided to do it anyway, the dryer I have has to be plugged into the washer which wouldn’t have worked with their replacement.
I agreed to the cash out option, $473 to replace the broken $1,000+ washer. I received the check somewhere between the first or second week of December. The initial service request was on 11/4, and the date of check was 11/15. I called inquiring about the check the first week of December and representative informed me that a check had been cut but they need to sit on the check for so many days in order for other processes to be validated.
So in summary, if get you insurance on say Lexus and don’t mind it being replaced by a Honda Civic, and don’t mind waiting over a month to get the replacement - I guess the service isn’t so bad. I had planned on canceling this contract once everything was finalized, but with the holidays and work commitments I kept forgetting about it until the automatic deduction hit my account. Interestingly, I received a letter today that read in part, “We are writing to inform you that due to OneGuard’s policy regulations and service expectations, we are unable to renew the above listed contract”. Well let’s see if they cancel the auto bill, I’m guessing not… I'm actually giving them two stars this time instead of the previous one, as they did supplement the purchase of a new washer - however customer service-wise, they are sub-par at best!

One Guard is amazing. Over the last three years we've had Our AC compressor break, a microwave break, an irrigation valve blew up, and the dishwasher flooded the kitchen. All incidents were taken care for just the cost of a service call. For what we pay a year it is wonderful, it's saved us thousands over the long run. Today I had a minor issue with my account and within a minute or two Sara ** had it taken care of. I didn't even have to wait on hold. Well done guys.

Go with OneGuard. They’re great. I’ve used them quite a few times. I’ve called in to file claims before and the representatives have been wonderful. They’re very knowledgeable. They schedule appointments and they’re there. Also, I haven’t had any problems with any of the contractors that they sent out. They were mostly on time, and everyone I’ve worked with was good. I had good service with them.

OneGuard is part of our package when we purchased our home. Our realtor gave us the information. We call OneGuard when we submit a claim and we tell them what the problem is and they send somebody out. They’ve been great. Everything’s been wonderful - the claims representatives all the way through to the repair technician. The contractors show up, they do a good job, and they’re clean as well.

Putting a claim in with OneGuard is easy. I called in and I didn’t have to wait on hold very long. The reps were even helpful in terms of helping me find a solution without having to put a claim in. My disposal wasn’t working. And so, the customer service rep that I spoke to told me that maybe I just have to press the button on the bottom. So, they went above and beyond. I ended up needing to have somebody come out, and they came out and fixed the problem really quickly and left. I would recommend OneGuard to a friend.

My LG refrigerator stopped cooling and stopping making ice. The contractor OneGuard sent out has taken 3 attempts and now 3 weeks later we were told they wouldn’t be sending the contractor anymore and our refrigerator is still not working. We were told by OneGuard they had to see if it was still under warranty through LG. It is partially, parts but not labor. We have to now go through LG to get it fixed and pay them all the labor costs and then submit what we’ve paid and OneGuard will reimburse us in 30 days.
If I had extra money why laying around for this type of thing I wouldn’t have a warranty, I pay OneGuard for this. So, I’m going to be put out countless 100’s of dollars that I need to feed my family or put it on a credit card where it will accrue interest while waiting for OneGuard to reimburse me. (And OneGuard will not reimburse interest) I have thoroughly read the contract and nowhere does it state that I have to pay upfront and get reimbursed later. Seems like OneGuard makes up the rules as they go. I will be changing companies, or better yet, put the money I spend on them in an account to pay for these things as needed. Then no one will get my business. At this point, between the super slow contractor and having to start over with LG, I may go many more weeks without a refrigerator.

During my home warranty period, I called to schedule in August in Texas to have the AC looked at, as it wasn't working. We had tenants in the unit. They sent an incompetent Company/Contractor that came without a ladder, and diagnosed the problem as a motor not working when HE didn't even know how to turn on the unit. It worked fine the next day, when my husband turned it on. They don't allow you to used Competent Certified Contractors, and refused to come back and fix the issue which was "it needed Freon", or reimburse me when I had to have it fixed myself. The contractor also left the access to the A/C unit in the ceiling open when he left. I reported them to the BBB and they did NOT offer to come and fix the issue. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS! The WORST home warranty company!

This company has an amazing customer service. They always pick up the phone fast and resolve your issues in no time. For example Ralph ** went today above and beyond in order to get my warranty renewed. He answered my questions by phone and email and his great service convinced me to renew my policy with OneGuard even though the price was slightly higher than competitors. They did not failed me last year and sure won’t this one.

OneGuard Home Warranty does not back up their customers and sides with their lowest bidder contractor. If you have OneGuard, cancel your contract before you get screwed. Stay away from Speedy Elect & Air, their technicians are dishonest. I recently had a problem with Speedy Electric & Air, (972) 366-5700 and OneGuard Home Warranty, (888) 896-0014. I believe Josh of Speedy Electric left my heater system semi-operable after I asked him for a quote on a new system during a service call in Nov 2018. He worked on the system 13-15 Nov 2018 re-wiring 3 heating elements. I personally saw him working on one of the heater coils, I assumed he did all 3.
The months of November and December 2018 were relatively mild, and I believe my system worked at 2/3 capacity without much problem. On Jan 3, 2019, it was a bit colder, and I submitted a trouble call to OneGuard. Speedy was assigned to come and look at the system. On the 5th of January, the system seemed to be working okay, the weather was warmer also. When Speedy called to arrange an appointment, I told them the system seemed to be working, and cancelled the service call. On a cold night on 13 January, I decided the system wasn’t working to capacity. My normal electric bill is about $150 a month, January’s bill was $350. The air handler part of the system seemed to be on all the time.
Josh of Speedy came out on the 15th of January, and told me that a “limiter switch” was burned out and that one of the 3 heating coils was not wired, in fact, taped off. Talks with OneGuard revealed that the office of Speedy told them that the limiter switch was MISSING, and a coil was unwired. Re the Jan 3 service call, the office of Speedy told OneGuard that I FIXED THE SYSTEM MYSELF (from OneGuard notes). I can state categorically that the door to the air handler was not even opened, much less another service company or myself unwired and taped off a heater coil and caused the limiter switch to burn out (since Josh worked on the system 15 Nov 2018). It was obviously left in this condition on Nov 15, 2018, on purpose on the indication of buying a new system or forgetfulness. Josh left an estimate for a new system costing $2,512.00.
I trusted Josh and shook his hand. I’ve been with OneGuard since 2008, they’ve paid partially for a new ceiling fan, some plumbing problems and replaced my refrigerator twice (the second time after 4 service calls, they always take the cheap repair instead of replacing an obviously bad appliance, but that’s in the contract) for $732 a year. My heating system has been worked on at least 8 times since 2008 at $69 per service call. Stay away from Speedy Air and Heating and I urge you to cancel your contract with OneGuard, they take the technicians word over the customer making the customer out to be a liar to save money. Both Josh (Speedy) and Nicole (OneGuard) were argumentative on the phone. When they called to straighten out the problems, they already had their minds made up and listened to no counter information. Stay away from them.

Very dissatisfied with the experience getting my oven and washer repaired. Upon expiration of my contract, I will seek other warranty providers. My bad experience involved these three areas: The time it took for the service company to come over to diagnose the problem after initial contact. The time it took to receive the needed parts after diagnosis, and the refusal by OneGuard Home Warranties to permit me to use another service company after I voiced my concern about how long it was taking. From start to finish, my oven took 16 days to repair and my washer took 10 days. The technician didn't even arrive to diagnose the washer until seven days after service was requested. I have a family of five with three small children. 16 days without my oven and 10 days without my clothes washer is unacceptable.

We had a company named something else before OneGuard which we've had for about 20 years. OneGuard bought it and I’ve had the same people. Submitting claims to them has been simple. I usually get someone, tell them what I want and they'd send someone out in a couple of days. The contractors they send out has always been very reliable, very nice and they always tell me everything that’s going on. So far, I’ve been satisfied with OneGuard.

My first claim with OneGuard didn't go very well. We had a hot water tank that wasn't getting hot and we had their guy come out. He thought he had it fixed but it wasn't. He then had to order a part. It took about a week or two before we finally got it running. We were out of hot water heater for three or four weeks and we were getting kinda perturbed about it. I called and they said there was nothing they could do.
Moreover, the guy came into my bathroom and messed with the faucets. I told him I didn't think that was the problem and I thought it was the hot water tank. The next guy came out and said that the first guy should have known that the problem was the hot water tank and not the faucets as there was nothing wrong with the latter. The first guy took them apart and put something backwards back in and so I couldn't turn the faucet back on. The second guy seemed to know what he was talking about and now it's working well.
Another time, our air conditioner went out and we had another guy come out. He took care of the problem right away. However, the second time, we got a guy that didn't know what he was doing. I think they should just have somebody that can solve the problem the first time out. Also, if the tech has to order a part, he should order it the first time he comes here, not the second or third time. The problem should be taken care of quickly. I don't think I'll ever get another warranty anymore because of the way OneGuard handled the situation. I'd rather just go out and get myself a hot water tank and pay a guy to put it in. It's much easier that way and I get it done right away.

The OneGuard warranty was included when I purchased the house and then I renewed because they were better than other warranty providers. I've had the service for about two years now and every time I've called, everything has been taken care of. I've had no problems whatsoever. A contractor comes to my home in three days, max. And they’ve been excellent. I would definitely recommend the warranty. They’re really good.

I am a Realtor and have had OneGuard for many years and many clients. What stands apart is that they offer replacement of any part or appliance they cannot fix that breaks during the course of regular use. That feature has personally saved me thousands of dollars! I have never had a bad technician and I can request a specific company be assigned to my claim. I highly recommend them and really like the peace of mind having a home warranty provider!

OneGuard has always been on time and I’ve had good service. All the good things that you’re supposed to get when you're a customer, they gave them to me, so I’m still with them and I've been covered for at least five years. The claims process is really easy. I just give them a call and they’ll give me a date, and they’ll tell me who has got the contract. If I think it takes a little longer, I give them a little nudge whoever it is that's coming out here to do the job, and they'll be right on it. The people that OneGuard has sent out to me were exceptionally good. They performed well and they were professional. They came out here and did the job and didn’t leave a mess, which is important. It’s an older house, so most of my problems have been plumbing, and OneGuard has done good to me.
Having OneGuard is a little peace of mind especially when you have a job that needs to get done and you don’t have the time to do it or you don’t know how to do it. I just shoot OneGuard a quick call, and they’ll send somebody out here to take care of the problems. I had some of the guys at work turn on to OneGuard. It’s something worth happening. It’s a couple of dollars a month but in the long run, it pays off.

When submitting a claim with OneGuard, unless I call it a new claim, I don’t get fast service. For example, if I choose the option to say existing claims, they don’t respond as fast. If I select the new claim option, then immediately I get super fast attention. I really like the customer service just fine and so far, I never had a problem unless it actually comes to the money disbursement part of it. I don’t quite understand some of the decisions in the amounts paid. What they cover or what they don’t cover is pretty much a fine print illusion.
I had a problem recently with my water softener. They said I was not covered on that, then I never realized it. When it came to the AC, they kept telling me they wouldn’t cover the fluid so I'd still pay out of pocket a lot of stuff. I also had a microwave that was on top of my burner that broke down. The size of the microwave for a new replacement was not available. It took me months and I ended up putting a hold on it. The coverage on that was pretty poor as well.
I also had a dishwasher that broke. It would not dry and it would not even soap the dishes sometimes. It was very intermittent and had a very weird problem going on. Every day I used it, the dishes would come out wet and not clean. Each time I called OneGuard, they sent out somebody that tried to fix it. The technician tested it and said that the heater was working. It was drawing water on it and sometimes it would dissolve the liquid. Sometimes it wouldn’t dissolve the tablet. But the dishwasher didn't run the full cycle. They didn’t have the time to do it because the full cycle would take about three hours and they didn’t wait that long. They said they tested the things and it worked then they went away.
Several times, I had to bring the contractor back in and every time I'd do that, I ended up paying more money. They said the dishwasher was hard to fix. They told me that I had to use vinegar on that. It needed to absorb the tablet, that there was some other liquid. They just delayed it long enough that I paid $200 to OneGuard, and then I got a $640 check, and I ended up paying $1,000 for the new dishwasher. It took at least four visits before OneGuard agreed with me that the dishwasher needed to be replaced.
So having OneGuard at some point is not gonna be value-added for me. I might as well just pay for the service myself. I ended up paying more than what I would’ve paid without it, then the value of it went away. This home warranty thing isn’t working for me and that’s the danger with it. They need to make it beneficial for me.
Sometimes when it comes to money, the peace of mind that I expect having a home warranty is all about the fact that they cover things when it goes wrong. If I get the feeling that they don’t cover something and they’re hiding behind the fine print, then that’s a tough one. If OneGuard can somehow make it explicit like a small list of items of what they cover or they don't cover at the outset, I know what I'm getting. They could put it in fine print. This is standard for everybody. But there is so much fine print and detail like, “We cover this part of it but we won’t cover this part of it,” and that’s what people get frustrated. So, that’s one thing.
When I pay the premium $69 per month, I expect good coverage for all the things that break down. I know it’s a cost balance, like how much do they cover or which ones are failing a lot more. They have their statistical analysis for sure, and if the thing takes on a lot, there’s not enough money for OneGuard to cover this at the premium that the customers pay.
But the customer service listens and promptly responds especially the speed at which when I call, they pick it up and respond to it is amazing. I really like the people that they took. 90% of the time, the first responders are very good and fast. Then most of the technicians that do the services are very good except one guy that did the faucet stuff in my house. The first time around, there was a faucet that needed to be replaced. The guy came in and then said that he'd find the part and buy it. He went out and came back, and then he didn't install it. I wanted to buy it, and there was a lot of confusion because he said, “If you buy it, you can install it.” I told OneGuard that I didn't want that contractor anymore. But other than that, it was usually fine.

My first call to OneGuard for my side by side freezer that was intermittently defrosting was on 9/26. They have sent 2 repair companies, 6 repair guys, supposedly "fixed" it twice, we waited 6 weeks for a part that was never ordered and then they said it was not needed. I have had to take time off work each time and have been without a freezer for 3 months, through the holidays! Tech out again Wed, and now they say because the problem is intermittent, they can't fix it. The freezer cools and defrosts throughout the day so I can't keep anything in it. The repair guys have seen it and acknowledge it is happening.
OneGuard says unless a service tech is here at the exact moment it stops cooling they can't fix it. Ridiculous! They should be calling it unrepairable and reimbursing me as their policy states they will. I think 6 visits make it unrepairable. I guess I have to have the service tech sit in front of the freezer for hours to catch it, but wait they are only here for 5 minutes! Shame on you OneGuard for not living up to your commitments!

I have two other "major" home warranty companies during over the last 20 years, and OneGuard is far better than either of them. It's not even close. I've never had anything but responsive customer service when filing a claim. They have always answered my questions thoroughly, promptly... and honestly. Perhaps most importantly, the service companies they have sent out have always been wonderful. Those of us who have experience with these companies know how important... and different... that is. A special shout out to Billy **. He recently handled my refrigerator repair. When the part to fix it could not be find, he immediately approved a buy-out at the policy maximum. No hassles. We purchased our OneGuard Warranty for several years. We began having difficulty with one of our air conditioning units and for Arizona Residences that’s not a luxury but a necessity. Each year we have our units checked and tuned by The OneGuard recommend HVAC enduring & maintaining a working system according to OneGuard. We had to have 4 HVAC calls due to hot air blowing from that one A/C unit. They did EVERYTHING but replace the unit!!! Said we must have leaks from the ductwork so you the Air Handler cool air was cooling off the attic! Called someone UNRELATED out to the house, the A/C was leaking Freon from 3 places. We had to replace the unit. I will NEVER recommend OneGuard. They made every excuse to increase our coverage cost each year, all the while knowing our air conditioner was slowly dying in the backyard.

Stay away from this place. Bunch of con artist. Do yourself a favor. Save your money and go elsewhere to do business. They bring these guy out after paying a fee just so they can say, “Oh we don't cover that or yea there’s nothing wrong.” I always end up calling another company so they can come out and fix the problem so then I have to pay a monthly payment then the fee for the person to come out to just say we can’t do anything then I have to pay a different company to actually fix it. Too many loopholes and fighting just to get something done is not worth it. It seems the bad reviews are real and the good ones are fake from my experience I had with dishonest company. I love! how you guys reply to me by pretending you’re the innocent ones and I'm the stupid one.
What OneGuard didn't mention that every time they send someone they try to get out of fixing the problem. For example they sent me a plumber because we had a issue and he lied and said the plumbing was installed incorrectly so they can’t touch it after looking at it for not even one second. So after that I paid someone else to come and fix the problem. After he fixed the issue he stated that the plumbing was installed correctly and the pipes were just plugged. He also stated that warranty company such as Home One warranty are very dishonest and try to get out of fixing the issues. So back to what I said do yourself a favor and stay away from this company. I also tried to see if this company was decent enough to refund me some of the money and all they did for me is waive the 50$ cancellation fee. LMAO!!! Again stay away. Trust me. Save yourself some money.

I submit claims more over the phone. But it's not like I'm not able to use technology and I know OneGuard has a discount if you do it that way. But I find that using the internet works for things I often use. To go figure out somebody’s website for the two or three times a year that I use it is sometimes frustrating. Besides, everybody over the phone is really good. I can't say they're experts when I call them like on a bathroom faucet or the AC. But they're pleasant.
The contractor is where it gets a little bit dicey though. Some can be really good and some can be okay. You feel like you're rolling the dice a little bit on who you get and you don’t have the confidence level. If I was to reach out and do it for myself, I ask for recommendations from friends. This is somebody wanting to maybe establish themselves in the market or they branched out from their boss or their other plumbing company. They also seem to have a lot of things they don't cover. On anything, there's always an out because things in the home are complicated. There's always a lingering thing out there where they always win. But I've been with them a long time and they try and do what the home warranty stuff is supposed to do. So I feel like it works better than my neighbors'. Having it there gives me a peace of mind to a degree. If somebody was getting a home warranty, I would recommend them.

Having a home warranty is normally financially beneficial. I've had OneGuard before and I've had good results with them then. I was also a Realtor. I recommended them in the past and I have not had customer complaints. And I would recommend them again. I've had contractors who were slow about getting a quote back to me but other than that, they've been fine. The HVAC guy, in particular, did a great job. He knew exactly what he was doing.

We had a home warranty before at our old house and it was not a great experience. We didn't go with that same company and we knew we needed one when we bought our new townhome. We did some investigation to find out the best home warranty company would be. While we had some recommendations from friends, it was on the internet where we found what we felt would be the best fit for us, OneGuard.
My husband would call OneGuard when submitting claims. He is a home inspector, so he is very conscious of and knows a lot about what's going on so he knows that the contractors we've had from OneGuard have been wonderful, very positive and honest, which is, of course, is very exciting because not all contractors are honest. They've come, they've done what they needed to do, and they've made recommendations as to when we might need to replace something instead of just fixing it and so their repairs had been very good. Overall, we've had a great experience with OneGuard. Their response to everything has been very timely and we appreciate it. We've recommended them to other people.

I'm a real estate agent. I've used lots of other home warranty companies before and decided to give OneGuard Home Warranties a shot. Their customer service is solid. Sometimes, I'll call the sales rep and she’d submit the claims for me, depending on the situation. The first couple of interactions with their contractors were rough. They couldn’t figure out what was going on. But the last couple of times we’ve had to make a claim, it was really good and they really did a good job of diagnosing the issues. We had the same guy and he was really great. Plus, we had some issues before that that were remedied. I don’t expect perfection, but if there is an issue, I expect it to be taken care of, and it has been with OneGuard.

I was once told by an industry insider that home warranty companies business model to minimize costs is to refuse to provide services, do multiple repairs when replacement is indicated, and keep the customer running around. 80% of people end up giving up, saving them thousands of dollars. If you do fight long enough, there is no penalty if they end up having to pay (the other 20%). They prey on the elderly.
I can only describe my experiences (plural) with OneGuard as feeling just like that business model! If it's something small (less than an hour labor) they will usually address it - otherwise for me they refused to do the work stating "it's not covered" (even though their website clearly states the work was within the warranty scope), or tried to up-charge me. Then when trying to sort it out at the company level, there is only one person to try and deal with their customer service issues (Donye) who had a "tough luck" attitude... SAVE YOURSELF TIME, MONEY, AND AGGRAVATION AND LOOK ELSEWHERE! This is an area that needs better regulation!

Ralph ** gave me a courtesy call a few days before my policy expired. I had reservations about renewing but he convinced me to stay by explaining the value of their plans. I couldn't afford to pay the policy in whole so, he set me up on a monthly autopayment plan. He's very responsive to my messages and easy to speak to - no ego.

OneGuard is a good company and we like them. They're really good. They respond quickly. The prices are very competitive and they choose reputable technicians. We had had American Home Shield for about 10 years before and we weren’t happy with them. When we had problems with our refrigerator, we had a whole lot of trouble trying to get people to come out. We ended up giving up and buying a new refrigerator at Sears. We even had it delivered before they could get a repairman out. That was when I saw OneGuard. I went online and looked up other home maintenance options. I checked reviews and I liked what I saw.
Then when we were actually talking with a representative, I felt more secured that we would be taken care of and they’ve always done a really good job. We've had them now for a couple of years. They're really good about calling back and sending the technicians on time. I usually call in and tell them what the problem is then they call me back and give me the name of the company that they’ve chosen and the telephone number. Then that company usually calls us within 30 minutes to an hour to confirm a date and time when they're gonna come out.
When it's time for them to actually do the service, they always call 30 minutes before they get here. They've been very professional and we haven't had any bad experiences with anybody that OneGuard has sent. We pay a monthly fee of $79 to be in their plan and then when they do a service call, the service calls are $69. If the technician has to order parts or if there's anything else involved, there's usually a small extra fee. But normally, everything is covered in the $69 trip charge.

I go online to file claims with OneGuard and normally, the initial process is good. There was just one time that my experience was a little rough. There was one contractor who was bad and the whole experience on that one particular contractor, along with the interaction with OneGuard, was not very good. My air conditioner had gone out in the middle of summer and it took the contractor a week to get there. Then when he came in, he misdiagnosed the issue and it was gonna cost me several thousands of dollars in uncovered expenses. But I demanded a second opinion and when the second-opinion guy came in, he was great.
The problem was the initial process with the misdiagnosis and then trying to work it out with the OneGuard. It was very difficult. When you call in, you wait a long time on hold. But that’s been over a year ago so the process may have been fixed by now. I’d also sent in a review on that one particular contractor with the misdiagnosis. So it may be fixed by now as well. That aside, everything else has been really good. Even in terms of the contractors, everybody has been good. I would recommend OneGuard.

I have now filed 3 claims with OneGuard, they have found a reason to deny all 3. Their reasons for the third denial sounded fishy so I hired a professional to perform the same inspection they claimed to have done. The results contradicted everything OneGuard claimed. When I presented this to them they then came back with a totally different reason to deny the claim. Do not waste your money with OneGuard. They take your upfront fee, then charge you a service fee every time they send someone to inspect your claim, then they will lie to deny the claim and then change their reason for denial when they are called out on their lie. OneGuard is a very dishonest company.

The second request was for the air conditioning system, and upon assessment, the OneGuard service contractor did not find any mechanical breakdowns and reported the system was operational. The third request for the pool heater was not covered by OneGuard due to the breakdown that did not result from normal wear-and-tear conditions, and also predated the beginning of the OneGuard service agreement. Been a OneGuard customer for 10 years in Scottsdale with a few small claims -- service was always good. Then had a kitchen faucet blow and was unhappy to learn that what I thought was a full kitchen package did not include faucets. Hired a plumber and got the install done. Having just renewed OneGuard days earlier, I hit "reply" on their email and vented a bit, i.e. 10 years of premiums and when I need them for a faucet they weren't there.
To my surprise, a couple of days later Yesenia, a customer service rep, phoned. We discussed the matter. She heard me, agreed to honour the claim, paid out the maximum $250 (and up-sold me the added package!). Yesenia's style and customer service skills were really impressive. I went from being prepared not to renew my policy next year to completely satisfied (and, for the first time, doing an online review). The response was not only appropriate and timely but kept me firmly on side with OneGuard. Great job! Thanks.

I called OneGuard the first time I submitted a claim, and then they said that the app was a lot more user-friendly, so I’ve done that twice. But as far as the actual submission process, it has been easy. The contractors have been great and they fixed everything that I have had them work on. I really like my pest control company. They’re very friendly. They’re always asking me if I need anything else or if there’s anything they can do above and beyond.

I had American Home Shield for many years on my house and I've had some issues every now and then with them. After talking to some of the OneGuard people who come to visit our office during sales meetings, I decided to give them a shot, and they’ve done fairly well with me. If I have any questions or any things that I thought I might have issues with, their sales rep has been able to help me out and get them taken care of for me. The contractors that they have sent have done what they needed to do and they’ve gotten fixed what needed to be fixed. I recommend OneGuard a lot with my clients that come up. I'm a buyer’s agent and I always try to get a home warranty plan on there. I have to give them a couple of different options, but I always let them know the experience I've had with OneGuard.

Initially, we were with Allied Home Warranty but then they wrote us a letter saying that we'd be going to OneGuard. Since the transfer, I've called in for claims and OneGuard's reps have been good. They explained what we had to do, what was gonna happen and how long things would take. One technician came out, checked the equipment and told us what he had to do. They don't make the part that had to go to some of the stuff that we had anymore so we ended up having to buy new stuff. Still, the contractor came and put everything in for us. Our equipment has been working fine ever since. OneGuard is a good insurance company.

I built a new home and wanted OneGuard's extended warranty option. Filing claims is simple. I call them, they put in an order and they have the contractor call to confirm the date and time with me. The contractors they've sent have all been good as well. They took care to protect the floors. They put on shoe covers and laid blankets out when they had to slide out the dishwasher. In general, having OneGuard gives peace of mind. I keep a busy schedule and just calling one number and not having to find a specific contractor make things easy. I’m a realtor and I refer as many clients as I can to OneGuard.

Submitting a claim at OneGuard has been good. The pricing with some of the vendors has not been good though. I had a hot water heater replaced, and the quote from the vendor was about $500 to $800 higher than I got it done for. The vendor sent out was professional and on time, but when you’re working and you have to get somewhere in the Metroplex, it takes a while. I live 20 minutes away from the house but if traffic’s bad, it’s more like 30 or 40 minutes. So, sometimes I might miss the window. I wanted a little more heads-up but when the tech was there, he was fine.
However, the timeline wasn’t great. We had been without hot water for about a week, and the tech said if we paid $200 more, he could get us in two days. If we didn’t do that, then he could probably get us in early next week. We’d been taking cold showers for a week and my wife was really unhappy. On one hand, I’m not gonna pay $200 just to go up in line. On the other hand, we’re not waiting until next week. So I told him we were just gonna get another quote. But OneGuard got their payment and paid us for the hot water heater, which came in a good amount of time. I just wouldn't use that company that came out again.

We purchased our home last July. We had to buy all new appliances and I wanted to make sure that they are gonna be working for a long time. We also had a bunch of different things that we had no knowledge of coming from Minnesota. We have a pool and a sprinkler system. We have a septic now too. None of these things were things that we previously had and we had no idea how to take care of them, so we wanted to make sure those were covered as well. We asked our real estate agent about home warranties that she would recommend and she referred us to OneGuard.
Their website has been good and I’m always able to submit things like claims. But where I found that OneGuard falls down is on backing up the work that their contractors do. We had some issues with a sprinkler tech that came out. The sprinkler had a leak we didn't know of and OneGuard didn't cover it. It says right in the paperwork that they don’t cover leaks which is okay. But the tech that came out turned the system on so it was pressurized. He said he was going to get some other things that he needed to get approved. What we didn’t know was on the far side of the lawn where we didn't go that much, it was leaking very badly. Our water company billed us for 180,000 gallons for a month. Our bill for water went from $100 a month to over $900 for the month. It was high because we have the pool and everything.
When the technician came back out three weeks later, he realized that he had pressurized the system so he turned it all off. He said we had a leak but he knew that before he left. But he didn’t completely disable the system. He just turned off the control system for it thinking it was not gonna do anything. But it was all pressurized so it was causing the water to leak. When we called OneGuard about it, they said that all of their companies were bonded and insured. The tech's company should take care of the problem. We tried working with the company but they told us that their technician took care of it and there was nothing wrong, so they were not gonna cover anything. OneGuard wouldn’t do anything either. That was really frustrating.
We’ve also had a couple different contractors who came out that we had an issue with. Our furnace was replaced by somebody that OneGuard was working with at the time. That was at the beginning of March. When we went to turn the furnace on this year, it didn’t work. OneGuard's contractor installed a natural gas furnace but we have propane so it's like a huge fire hazard because the furnace is not set up to burn the correct fuel. It either trips the circuit to turn off the thermostat so it doesn’t burn or it starts a fire. We were lucky that it did the first and not the second one.
We called the contractor and told them what was going on and that they needed to fix the problem. OneGuard is saying that they don't work with the contractor anymore. But the contractor is saying, “We need to get this fixed for them. We don’t wanna void their warranty because we went out and did work to fix what we did wrong in the first place.” Now the contractor is trying to get the okay from OneGuard to come out, do the work and fix the furnace. I haven’t heard about the status of this issue since before Thanksgiving.
With OneGuard, the process works well as far as getting the technicians out. There just isn’t a lot of responsibility on OneGuard's part for anything that their technicians might do. There's also the thing with refunding a service fee. We have the $69 that we have to pay every time a technician comes out. OneGuard never offered to refund that.
