OneGuard has been doing exactly what it says it does. They've done our fall and spring air conditioning and heating tune-ups. Those have always been done effectively and on time. We had some fans and lights installed and they did that perfectly and on time. We've had a couple of plumbing repairs and they've done those professionally and on time. We also like that for items that need to be taken care of, we have a set price. We know exactly what we're going to pay when we need service.

I've had some difficulty over the years with OneGuard. I had a problem with my Viking refrigerator. The people that came before, Red & White Appliance, were certified by Viking. They knew what the problem was and could just come out with the correct part and fix it. But OneGuard didn't want to go ahead with that. I had Red & White Appliance fix it, send the bill to OneGuard and had to go back and forth to get it paid. They ended up covering that after I wrote to Better Business Bureau.

I've been a customer for over ten years and within the past year, OneGuard's service has completely transformed into a horrible mess. Specifically, in the last three months, my experience with every department from customer service to authorizations to purchasing as been terrible. There are too many issues to describe, but some of the primary issues you should be aware of are these.
First, OneGuard outsourced their customer service reps overseas and siloed them from all other departments. What does this mean? If you have an urgent matter or OneGuard makes a mistake, it means the customer service rep will simply send an email to the other department and ask you to wait another 48 hours for a response. Then no one will contact you. You must be relentless in advocating for yourself and call back again and again to have your issue resolved. Also, their customer service reps are inconsistent in terms of their knowledge of procedures and customer service skills. Some have outright cut me off, misinformed me, or have been rude.
Second, when they make mistakes, they lie about it and you pay for it. For example, my water heater needed replacing. I spoke with authorizations and approved the out of pocket expense and was told it would be three business days. Five business days later, no response. I contacted OneGuard and was told that the water heater was ordered and I just need to keep waiting but no indication of how much longer or why it was taking longer. So, I called the contractor and they informed me that OneGuard spoke to them and they ordered the wrong water heater and had to reorder it, which means I have to wait longer because of their mistake.
When I confronted OneGuard about this, they said they would escalate my issue to a supervisor but they had to send an email and I had to wait 48 hours for a response. Guess what happened? They never contacted me and I am still waiting. Now it is going on two weeks without hot water because of their incompetence. And I would have never known what was going on if I was not the one to reach out and ask.
The frequency of these types of experiences has been increasing, leaving me to believe they are no longer isolated incidences but rather the normal way OneGuard does business. Their operational inefficiencies are baked into their way of doing business. Customer service relays concerns to other departments via email, the customer wait time is extended, and then you never get a response and so your only recourse is to call again and repeat the same cycle.
Common sense tells you that this way of operating creates internal email congestion, worsening response times, and leaves no room for procedures on handling urgent customer matters caused by unethical/incompetent contractors or OneGuard department reps. In conclusion, if you want poor customer service, untimely resolution of claims, and anxiety caused by not knowing if they will even approve a claim since they use unethical contractors who help them find reasons to deny your claim, even going to the extent of lying, then by all means, do business with OneGuard.

I've had two other warranty companies that I had for a couple of years and they were terrible service. And I'm glad I changed. The only concern I had was, I had told OneGuard I didn't want my credit card on file. That as I go, I'll give them my credit card information. But it was pleasant and cut to the point. OneGuard gave me one company. But they never got with me after 24 hours, so I called back. And they sent me an email saying that it was turned over to a different company. I'm glad they did because the gentleman that came out for my repair did excellent work. He explained everything to detail. So, I was very pleased with him. I would recommend OneGuard to anybody that needs any type of home warranty in the house.

We had an oven that was probably five years old and it had broken down, and the techs came and fixed it. Then about six months later, it broke again. The techs tried to fix it and had replaced everything inside of it but it still wasn't working. I paid the service fee and in this case, they were going to replace it with the same model. But I told them to give me the cash. I bought a different model so it was a different price. I paid more out of my pocket but they gave me the same value for the stove that I had and I was happy with it. I've recommended OneGuard to anybody I know.

The service is okay. But it could be improved. OneGuard should have a systematic approach to blocking certain contractors. The contractors that they work with are not consumer friendly. They’re companies that should be on Ripoff Report, and OneGuard continues to partner with them. The service is typically booked online. In order for me to reject the contractor, I have to call OneGuard and inform an agent. I would have the agent open up the service request. What is convenient is having a network of available contractors and not having to cold call and spend time getting people to give me quotes, trying to figure out who's going to upsell me when they come. So there's a bit of trust and ease with the home warranty. But the benefit is not as great as what is advertised.

I had a toilet that was running, and the plumbers OneGuard sent were on time and fixed it the first time. First, an assistant came in and thought there was one issue, then the main plumber came in. They figured out quickly what it was and put in a new part. They were very nice. I've had two other claims as well, and no matter what the issue, I'm just paying a $75 fee.

I use OneGuard for my condo, and is everything covered all the time? No. However, it's a business as well, and most of the time, they've been helpful. I'm very happy with them, which is why I stayed with them for 17 years. I've referred multiple people out too.

I've had OneGuard for almost 10 years now, and I've been very happy with them. It offers peace of mind, as well as keeps costs down on some of the replacements that I've had to have done. They've been great to work with, and their claim submission process is much easier than it used to be. It's all online now, but they also offer a number that people can call. The techs have been great too.

Any claims that we've had were resolved. There are certain contractors that typically get assigned to our claims and we've used OneGuard for so many years now that if there's somebody assigned that my husband doesn't like, he asks for somebody else. The price goes up every year but other than that, it's been okay.

I had repairs for the pool pump, garbage disposal, cooktop, landscape watering systems, refrigerator and lots of different things. Most of the time, the claims process with OneGuard were okay. I have three different properties on them. They fixed the problem and sent reliable and licensed, bonded people to do the work.

For a while I thought OneGuard was a decent warranty company so we purchased it for all 4 of our properties. However, the second something big like an AC unit goes out they will find ways not to cover with all the fine print. Then someone else like a hot water heater goes out, you will still be stuck paying absurd amount of money for things "Not Covered". Best yet is when they send a company out that is not authorized to work on your type of appliance so they send another company out but charge you another service fee for the exact same issue. Needless to say with these terrible experiences I have cancelled all my accounts. As I said I thought they were different but guess making money and cutting corners was more important then customer satisfaction.

OneGuard has been awesome. Everything moves quickly. I had to open up a ticket because my septic tank had backed up and they said it would be a day. I said that there are three people in this house. The rep put me on hold, called the plumber herself, got back on and said the plumber would be here in 30 minutes. They came in 20 minutes and they were up and down in 15, and it was over with. The quality of service was great. I’ve experienced quick and respectful service from OneGuard and I've referred them to family and friends.

The claims submission with OneGuard has been very favorable and smooth. We're really glad that we did it. We do our claims over the phone. We talk to the person who makes the appointment, and then we get a text message saying somebody's coming. When the techs are coming, they call before they show up. Overall, OneGuard saved us a lot of money, time and trouble.

OneGuard has been great, for the most part. A lot of the contractors have been great, too. One gentleman stayed here for a lot longer than he needed to when our refrigerator was down. There had been some incidences though where a Russian fellow didn't speak English. Then it took them a long time to get back to us. That was on a microwave issue and an appliance. We called and said, “We'd not like them to come back.” They said, “You actually have to keep them on because they've already started the claim with us. And we're in the middle of it.”

Contractor response for A/C outage during 100+ degree temps is unacceptable. When I initially called to open a service request (Monday evening) the representative could not tell me how long before the contractor could schedule an appointment, so on day one of the outage I did not open a claim. I hung up and started calling A/C contractors on my own. I was able to locate a contractor that could come out same evening within a few hours. He was able to quickly diagnose the issue. (One Guard apparently doesn't have any contractors that can meet that service level.) I learned my condenser/compressor was blown and was not repairable. I was able to find out (same evening) I would be looking to replace this component.
The next morning (Tuesday) I contacted OneGuard to open a service request as this component is covered and I would prefer to use the warranty coverage I pay a considerable amount for each year. I explained that I had a diagnosis of the issue and would like to have one of their contractors scheduled to come out to confirm diagnosis and get going on relieving us from the 100 degree temperature with no A/C. A contractor was assigned and I was told they would be contacting me. After a few hours I hadn't heard from them so I contacted the contractor directly to see how soon I might be able to get scheduled. The contractor's office informed me someone could come out THURSDAY between 9am & 1pm - they seemed pretty matter of fact with no sense of urgency.
I asked if there was any way to escalate the appointment and mentioned I had already had another contractor out so I was pretty sure I would needing to have the condenser replaced. They didn't ask for any details which told me I could expect they would be coming out to only diagnose the issue, which likely means additional days of suffering through a hot house in 100+ degree days. Since I have a 90 year old living with me I couldn't see going with out A/C for an extended period. I inquired with a few other contractors on my own. Two were able to come out same day (Tuesday) and quote a replacement unit. On Wednesday I had a new unit installed from one of those contractors.
While I was able to find 3 contractors to come out during peak demand, One Guard was not able to provide a single one contractor that could even come out and to diagnose the issue. One Guard either needs to contract with more HVAC companies, contract with companies that can meet the demand during extreme summer heat in Texas or make an exception and offer customers the option to cashout in consideration of the extreme heat. Having a customer remain without A/C for days during extended 100+ degree days in unacceptable and really sad. This says a lot about this company. Needless to say I am not very happy and questioning if I will purchase another warranty. I had to incur the full expense to get my A/C up and running. The whole concept of having a warranty is to minimize costly repairs out of pocket, hmm...

Submitting claims to OneGuard is really easy and awesome. Their representatives give me information like the service people's contact and when they're going to contact me. If they don't contact me, then they let me know. They let me know if there are any issues and they resend things to me. They call me and ask me about it like if I've been contacted. If I haven't, then they help me. I've liked all the contractors thus far except for one, but that was because they called me at 6 o'clock in the morning and kept calling me repetitively. Overall, we really like OneGuard. I love their services. They have an array of coverages and I will continue to get the warranty.

I was a little disappointed last year when we weren't offered a fix but a replacement that was less than a third of what the unit actually costs. We're still on an open work order. I don't know whose fault it is, it’s “Bring one part.” The guy to me was fixing the wine refrigerator and he said, “It’s only 5 years old. It looks like it might be this or this.” I said, “How do you do this?” He said, “We’ll have to get this.” I said, “What if you get out here and two weeks later, it's gonna need the other one?” Which was exactly what happened.

We had a sewer backup and had to have the whole sewer system redone. We've had twice out for the air conditioning, out for the garage door, and out for changing all the locks. When it's an emergency, OneGuard is not very efficient. There's no service 24 hours a day like it states, unless you act like you never turned a claim in. Then you can get to talk to somebody. Otherwise, it just goes into a system where you have to wait until the next day when they show up for work. Some of their people are fine. Some people aren't. The plumbers haven't been very efficient but the air conditioning people were and took care of business.

So far, OneGuard has been really good and very responsive. I've had lots of home warranties over the years and they have never argued about anything if something breaks. They've sent an air conditioning guy out here seven times since I moved in this house a year ago. The air conditioning guy is coming again tomorrow 'cause the fan constantly runs and never stops. My chain in my garage door broke and they fixed it this week. I called them on Monday and the techs were out on Tuesday. It works great now. Goes up and down just like it's supposed to. They're the best home warranty company I have ever used.

Submitting a claim was excellent. I do it through the app and then I make call to confirm everything after they send me a response. On the quality of contractors, the first one for diagnostic was good. I've already recommended OneGuard to a family’s friend and another friend of mine.

I've been a loyal customer with OneGuard for over 7 years and have referred many of my friends and family to OneGuard over my time with them. As of today, I will never refer OneGuard to anyone else. One of my properties had an AC issue surface about a week ago, so I contacted OneGuard and they sent one of their so called "Contractors".
Fast forward a week later. After attempting to contact OneGuard and the Contractor on a daily basis for an “approval” they told me that the repair was not considered normal wear and tear and that I would be fully responsible for the cost of the AC repair. Keep in mind that the current temperature in Texas has been well over 105 degrees during this waiting period while a full family is living in these conditions. It took OneGuard an entire week for them to let me know that they were not going to cover any of the repair costs. Completely unacceptable!!! It should have never taken more than a day for them to have provided me this information. They strung me along by informing me to give them 24 to 48hrs for the approval each time I called.
I have since sent a new AC company and they discovered that the capacitor had to be replaced. The new AC company replaced the capacitor that same day and the AC is now working again. I then gave OneGuard one more chance by providing them this information and they stated that there was nothing that they could do about my situation. The cost of repair was $300 and they would rather lose a customer than attempt to help make things right. DO NOT USE ONEGUARD, Buyer Beware!! If they had a 0 rating I would have given it to them. This company is a total scam and they will look for ways to not cover your repairs. They graciously took my money for 7 years and when I finally needed them. They were non existent. I have since cancelled the service and will instead save the money I would have paid them to pay for my own repairs. No wonder they have so many negative reviews from customers when a repair has been needed.

With OneGuard, I can call someone and they can come out and either fix it or tell me about how to fix it. I don't have to worry about waiting forever to get somebody out here. I've always had good experience with them, and the techs are great, very professional and mannerly.

Do not go with OneGuard. The first issue I had with them was in October with my hot water heater. It took three months to get an answer for them to decline the claim. The second time was with my kitchen refrigerator. It took two and a half weeks to get a part that other appliance people have in stock. On the other hand, the third attempt went well. That was the same part on the same refrigerator that was fixed in October, but the contractor replaced the part right then and there and was out the door. It was great.
This is my fourth attempt with OneGuard. My washing machine is not working, and I had a very incompetent and unprofessional repair person come to my house on Thursday. I called OneGuard three times trying to get answers myself, but I still can't get answer. We’re still waiting on the response from the contractor, and he hasn't even submitted the diagnosis.

With OneGuard, I'm able to be at ease when something happens. I can call in, get a technician over, and the service has been good, so far. When I had issues with my air conditioning, I did a claim and the first contractor they called never showed up. The person helping me over the phone with OneGuard was helpful. They were able to get somebody out and they handled everything quickly. So, I'm pleased with it. The technician was very good too. He came in, took care of what he had to do, and gave me some pointers. He was real nice and informative. Great customer service.

I used to have one more company who shipped their customer support to the Philippines and it was a challenge. But with OneGuard, their customer service is great. The last time I called, I asked for someone for a ceiling fan. He came and left in two minutes saying there was nothing he could do about it. I felt like $65 was wasted on it. But I’ve had a few good ones.

I like OneGuard. I call them, they send me a contractor and things get fixed. However, I've been with them for four years, and I noticed that my monthly bill went up. It was in the 50s. Now, it's 89.

I am warning you all about this home warranty. I am not against home warranty at all but if you must do not use One guard. I have quite a long experience and most of the time when something is bad, there is some good in it but let me say this company will give you stress and maybe depression. Today 6/2/2022, as I write this review, I am remaining only 5 days to the contract ending and this is a great feeling. I paid my dues on time, all my service calls were paid on time but today after my a/c broke the 4th time (after one guard sent multiple contractors to fix my a/c but apparently failed at it), I cannot fight with them anymore.
Back in April, when I turned on my a/c, I noticed it was not cooling even after the service maintenance done few weeks prior. I called one guard to send a contractor to check my unit and alas! It was the compressor and the refrigerant. So I asked the contractor to send me the report as well as send it to one guard because once your compressor fails (engine of the a/c), you might as well get a new unit. But that did not happen. Instead they said they would change the compressor and add freon which I had to pay out of pocket ($960). Over the next few days the weather had gotten better and we did not need a/c that much. It was working until yesterday 6/1 when it stopped and I called one guard to send me someone asap to check it out.
I have spoken to 4 reps. All of them telling me there is someone who will come today. But when I call the contractor, they tell me they don't have availability. The last representative I talked to from one guard told me they don't have anything until Tuesday. Now you see this is not the 1st time they have done this to me because as I have mentioned my history with a/c and one guard is long.
I will warn you one guard will not take care of your needs, whether you pay on time, whether you're desperate for a fix whatever it is DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY. They will push you to your ends. I am not sure if other home warranties are like this but this one will chew your head out. I have been with one guard for 2 years because I thought I needed home warranty and yes I will look for something else because of other issues like plumbing and electricity but I wanted to leave this review so that I can help someone considering this bogus company.
They will not send approved contractors to your place such as K&K mechanical a/c (this company does not even have a website). They will leave you to fend for yourself so unless you want to pay the $70 a month and then look for your own contractor to come check out your issue which is different from the warranty, then I suggest just don't go with one guard.
