    I have been with One Guard Home Warranty for over 20 years and I agree with some of the other customer's reviews, the company's service gets worse and worse. I recall in the early days, they were pleasant to work with. In recent years, customer service representatives have been difficult to understand and not at all helpful, which frustrates me whenever I talk to them. If I ask to speak to a supervisor, their response is they will put in the request and they will call me back within 24-48 hours, but nobody ever calls me back.

    My AC system has been having problems since May 2024 and I called One Guard every month to send someone out to fix the issue. They would fix one small problem at a time and the last fix their contractor even caused a leak in my ceiling. I called the contractor right away and left messages, texts, and emails, but no one returned my call. The contractor refused to take on responsibility. At the end of the day, the contractor did not fix my system, and the AC was still not cooling. They said the part was not covered by One Guard and that I would need to find another company to fix the part that is not covered by One Guard. It will be out of pocket for me.

    Please also note that my system hasn't worked properly since May, I am in the middle of hot hot summer in Arizona, over 110 degrees daily. I have two elderly parents living in the house without AC. This is an emergency service. At this point, the original contractor from One Guard hasn't responded to any of our calls. One guard refused to provide portable ACs or pay for any of them. So, I requested a diagnosis from two different companies, and they both told me that the system was too old and that I needed to replace the system entirely. I proceeded with replacing them because we could not wait any longer for One Guard to send a company that ghosted us.

    I emailed all my receipts and diagnoses from the two companies and am waiting for a response from One Guard. I am requesting some form of reimbursement from them. I have been paying the System Guard plan for many years now and when it comes down to it, they do not want to be a responsible company and take care of their customers, but instead they are sending these mediocre contractors that are wasting our time and money. After all these years as a customer, I am extremely disappointed in them and I will cancel my service with them. I do not recommend this company. It is frustrating talking to their customer service team who has no authority to fix problems.

    I have been with OneGuard Home Warranty for seven years, every year this company gets worse and worse. The value used to be there but it seems like their default is to refuse to cover just about anything and charge customers high monthly and service fee. If you call customer service, you end up talking to someone halfway across the world who are rude and argumentative. Their customer services treat you as idiot who don’t understand anything. If you ask for a supervisor or someone else to speak to that can do more than recite the same words off a sales sheet then you get told that someone will call you back in 24-48 hours and supervisor that call back recite the same thing with no solution. All this while you have something that might urgently need attention. They keep charging service with the same call over and over, they never honor their 30 day service fee policy for the same call. They hire mediocre contractors.

    I had to pay 3 $75 service charge within a month for the same problem because the contractor they were sending couldn’t probably diagnose the sprinkler problem we had. The only exception to reaching someone local is when it's time to renew, when they want you to renew they'll call you multiple times a day, they'll email you frequently, then you have a very easy time getting a hold of someone. No need to wait 24-48 hours when they want more money. That is when they are most responsive. The rest of the time not so much.. ****I would warn people to stay away from this fraud warranty company. People beware***. That is my experience after seven years of paying higher premium monthly and service charges.

    We're still without A/C One Guard. 2 weeks+ and it's a heat advisory in Arizona with the temperature over 116° until FRIDAY!!!! It was 118° in Phoenix yesterday, broke the previous record for this time of year. I'm constantly having to wet my dogs down in the backyard, but now their skin/fur is becoming irritated. Are you going to cover my vet bill One Guard??!! You are a losey company. I'm going to leave a review everyday until our A/C is fixed. If anything happens to my family including my dogs, things will become legal.

    I have been with this company for a few years now, and every service call ends in drama or an upsell from the assigned 3rd party trade. My recent experience was the worst yet. I called to inquire about a service and potential additional fees and spoke with Ron, a level 2 agent. When I tried to explain my frustration from a previous service call, he rudely cut me off, not wanting to listen to my story. Shockingly, things escalated quickly from there. Ron talked over me, was argumentative, and displayed poor customer service skills.

    It’s clear he needs better training, though I doubt he heard me since he wouldn't stop talking over me. A simple inquiry turned into a very frustrating experience, which, unfortunately, I have come to expect from this company. Their overseas agents are heavily scripted and lack effective customer service skills, making interactions even more frustrating. If you can find another company with US-based agents, I suggest using them. All home warranty companies have their issues, but you need to find the least problematic one. Once my contract expires, I will not be renewing.

    Something has changed with OneGuard Home Warranty service. They used to be very good and timely in resolving service requests. However this good customer service has disappeared. Our pool pump went out approximately June 3rd, 2024. OneGuard denied our repair requests and said that a power surge caused the motor to fail and they saw burned wires. After over 3 weeks now without a pump, our beautiful pristine pool is green with all sorts of algae growing in the pool and hot tub. This is totally unacceptable. We had our own pool company look at the pump and verified there was no burned anything in our around the pump. OneGuard said they could only receive a second opinion from one of their contractors which we still do not know who or when they are coming. We will be cancelling our OneGuard coverage.

    I can not recommend this company. They are very vague about their coverage and when it comes time to a major repair, they say they don't cover that. I paid extra for mainline plumbing, which states they will cover underground plumbing issues but when I needed a fix, UNDERGROUND, they said, nope - not covered. Do yourself a favor and whatever plan you were going to pay for, take that money instead and save it in a separate account. When the time comes for a repair on your home you will have the funds to pay out of pocket which is what you will have to do anyways if you are with One Guard.

    We have had this service for 8 years and our most recent experience has caused us to no longer be customers. They claimed our HVAC system had a leak issue due to lack of maintenance and therefore will not cover it. However, the leak has nothing to do with the dirty outdoor unit and is due to the unit and wire with the leak being 22 years old. The worst part has been that when we try to dispute it, their customer service was arguing with us and would not hear take the facts into consideration and just blinding disputed it based on pictures of the dirt on the outside of the unit. They will use this to screw you over any chance they have.

    So I'll try to make short... The way it works is a sub standard contractors that are ready to do the service call and always find a repairs that is NOT covered by the contract and since they actually know that the home warranty will not approve any NON-PARTNER contractor (even if is a reputable one in your city) they know that you have NO recourse to get a refund for any repairs even though they are specified in the contract. This process of delaying, denying and using sub standard contractors keeps One Guard from paying the big items.... in our case 3 times now.

    The irony is that not only the home warranty avoided to paid their contracted $1500 limit on a repair for an AC unit but thanks to their process it COST US about $2000 in unnecessary repairs instead of saving us $1500 from our $6500 cost. My verdict is if you must use them know that maybe the occasional toilet or electric switch will be repaired at a reasonable cost but for more sophisticated and complex repairs their process is very well designed to make you quit your claim or end up at the mercy of a "Partner-Contractor" that will only make things worse. Can't wait to cancel this contract. Picture shown is the damage cause by the AC unit that was not repaired correctly.

    DO NOT use OneGuard Home Warranty! This company is a complete scam, they will take your money and refuse to help you when needed. We've paid them almost $10k over a decade and when our AC unit went out the refused to fix it. Contractor told them the Coil was bad which is covered and they denied claim, said they would have someone come out for a second opinion. The second contractor said we had to purchase $500 of Freon to see if unit was working, paid $500 put Freon in it and it worked for a week until all the Freon leaked out of the Coil. OneGuard sent third contractor out who said Coil was bad, same as the first one. OneGuard said they would replace Coil but it would cost us $2500 out of pocket including $1250 in Freon AGAIN! Told OneGuard that we would not come out of pocket to fix the issue they initially denied.

    They said I had 10 days to decide to accept their offer or not so, I asked OneGuard Claims Rep Julia ** to to contact me to discuss, and she never did, asked another Rep Andrea ** to call me back to discuss, and she never did, asked to speak to a supervisor or manager and was told they do not open their offices until 1pm. I called the corporate office and was told they would have to call me back and they NEVER CALL BACK! They don't want to call me back and want their 10 days to expire so they don't have to pay anything! This is a predatory company who takes people's money and then will find any excuse not to spend any money to fix your issue. CONSUMER BEWARE and stay away from this company!

    I recently had a plumbing issue at my home and decided to reach out to OneGuard Home Warranty for assistance. Unfortunately, my experience with their service has been extremely disappointing and frustrating. Upon contacting OneGuard, they scheduled a plumber from SWAT Plumbing in Dallas to address the issue. The plumber arrived promptly, but to my dismay, he couldn't identify the problem and suggested breaking a 2x2 section of my garage drywall for further inspection. I explicitly asked the plumber who would be responsible for repairing the drywall, and he assured me that SWAT Plumbing would take care of it.

    After patiently waiting for a month, I realized that no one had come to repair the drywall, as promised. Feeling concerned and misled, I reached out to OneGuard Home Warranty for assistance in resolving the matter. However, I was met with even more disappointment. The OneGuard representative I spoke to informed me that repairing the drywall was not covered by my warranty, despite being given incorrect information by the plumber. This was incredibly frustrating, as I had followed their recommended contractor and was left with a damaged wall and no solution in sight.

    What was particularly disheartening was the lack of responsibility taken by OneGuard in rectifying the situation. The representative was unhelpful and seemed uninterested in finding a solution, simply stating that the drywall issue was not within my contract. As a customer who had relied on OneGuard's contractor and received misinformation about the repair, I expected better service and accountability. It is disconcerting to experience such a lack of support and responsibility from a company that is supposed to provide peace of mind for homeowners. In conclusion, my experience with OneGuard Home Warranty has been marked by disappointment, miscommunication, and a distinct lack of accountability. I urge potential customers to exercise caution when considering their services, as my experience has left me with unresolved issues and a sense of dissatisfaction.

    PLEASE whatever you do, choose another home warranty company. This is coming from a realtor and I have referred and purchased numerous plans with them for my clients. They have poorly performed on several cases for my clients but I was able to resolve it. Now they came for me this time. I had a request in to repair my range which is a luxury brand. After waiting two months I get an email saying they don't have any servicers in their network to service so I should have it repaired on my own. But they sent me a list of about 50 contractors in the area that I COULD NOT USE per them. There was literally no one off their list that could service my range. So I coughed up the $1200 to have it repaired on my own.

    I cancelled my plan because they have gone so downhill it's ridiculous. They charged me a $50 cancellation fee. Their escalations group NEVER returns my calls and they lie and say they did and left a message. So I have been unable to resolve this with them. They are LIARS! They block you from actually having things covered under you warranty repaired. I am forwarding a complaint to the BBB at this time to get them in line. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

    Seems like a good idea until you actually require OneGuard to service your contract. You will spend all of your time on phone calls with call center employees in the Philippines who are not authorized to help you in any way. Once your issue is diagnosed OneGuard's "authorization" department will do its best to fight you, the customer to ensure they do not have to service their contract. This has included half truths, outright lying and switching of contractors until they find a way to deny your service. Find a reputable company. It looks like they pay more for fake reviews than actually have customers who are satisfied with their services. We are cancelling all services and will seek damages against OneGuard. OneGuard is now way out of their contractually obligated service window. We have no heat and they are dragging their feet. You can do better.

    Over 5 years ago I was introduced to OneGuard and it was great service originally. Something must have changed in their contracts over the years. Most recently my water heater and refrigerator ice maker went out and I feel the service is less than satisfactory, examples below:

    • The hot water heater was replaced twice:
    o The first time OneGuard paid ~$1000 and I paid less than $100 out of pocket to replace the hot water heater.

    o This year OneGuard said I needed to pay ~$900 and their portion was only ~$400 stating that the electric work is extra configuration and other parts that needed to be replaced per the Oneguard selected provider is not covered.

    • The ice maker is making black speck in the ice:

    o A provider of their choice was sent out and they determined it was not the water line as that is clear and the ice maker needs to be replaced as the lining w/in the ice maker is coming of as the ice is being formed. OneGuard called said stating the replacement is not covered as the ice maker repair is only for mechanical failure and the lining is not covered per the contract.

    Again, I currently do not recommend OneGuard Home Warranties as there are so many “not covered” restrictions when an appliance fail. At this point I’m looking for another Home Warranty that will actually be beneficial when the common failure occurs, if there is one.

    Submitting a claim was very easy. I just went on the website and within a couple of days, our issues were completely resolved. The guy that came out was amazing.     With our initial call with OneGuard, the service was amazing. With my past experience with other home warranties, they were not even close to OneGuard. Any claims with OneGuard, I've never had a problem. The price is also right. They also have the stuff to help you with your products. I feel like they care more. They offer, on the air conditioning, the summer and the winter for the heater, programs that you get special rates with their suppliers to make sure you're taking care of your equipment correctly as well. They also have window cleaning. I have had wonderful service from them. They've been also very easy to work with.

    OneGuard has been doing exactly what it says it does. They've done our fall and spring air conditioning and heating tune-ups. Those have always been done effectively and on time.     I've had some difficulty over the years with OneGuard. I had a problem with my Viking refrigerator. The people that came before, Red & White Appliance, were certified by Viking. They knew what the problem was and could just come out with the correct part and fix it. But OneGuard didn't want to go ahead with that. I had Red & White Appliance fix it, send the bill to OneGuard and had to go back and forth to get it paid. They ended up covering that after I wrote to Better Business Bureau.

    I've been a customer for over ten years and within the past year, OneGuard's service has completely transformed into a horrible mess. Specifically, in the last three months, my experience with every department from customer service to authorizations to purchasing as been terrible. There are too many issues to describe, but some of the primary issues you should be aware of are these.

    First, OneGuard outsourced their customer service reps overseas and siloed them from all other departments. What does this mean? If you have an urgent matter or OneGuard makes a mistake, it means the customer service rep will simply send an email to the other department and ask you to wait another 48 hours for a response. Then no one will contact you. You must be relentless in advocating for yourself and call back again and again to have your issue resolved. Also, their customer service reps are inconsistent in terms of their knowledge of procedures and customer service skills. Some have outright cut me off, misinformed me, or have been rude.

    Second, when they make mistakes, they lie about it and you pay for it. For example, my water heater needed replacing. I spoke with authorizations and approved the out of pocket expense and was told it would be three business days. Five business days later, no response. I contacted OneGuard and was told that the water heater was ordered and I just need to keep waiting but no indication of how much longer or why it was taking longer. So, I called the contractor and they informed me that OneGuard spoke to them and they ordered the wrong water heater and had to reorder it, which means I have to wait longer because of their mistake.

    When I confronted OneGuard about this, they said they would escalate my issue to a supervisor but they had to send an email and I had to wait 48 hours for a response. Guess what happened? They never contacted me and I am still waiting. Now it is going on two weeks without hot water because of their incompetence. And I would have never known what was going on if I was not the one to reach out and ask.

    The frequency of these types of experiences has been increasing, leaving me to believe they are no longer isolated incidences but rather the normal way OneGuard does business. Their operational inefficiencies are baked into their way of doing business. Customer service relays concerns to other departments via email, the customer wait time is extended, and then you never get a response and so your only recourse is to call again and repeat the same cycle.

    Common sense tells you that this way of operating creates internal email congestion, worsening response times, and leaves no room for procedures on handling urgent customer matters caused by unethical/incompetent contractors or OneGuard department reps. In conclusion, if you want poor customer service, untimely resolution of claims, and anxiety caused by not knowing if they will even approve a claim since they use unethical contractors who help them find reasons to deny your claim, even going to the extent of lying, then by all means, do business with OneGuard.

    I've had two other warranty companies that I had for a couple of years and they were terrible service. And I'm glad I changed. The only concern I had was, I had told OneGuard I didn't want my credit card on file. That as I go, I'll give them my credit card information. But it was pleasant and cut to the point. OneGuard gave me one company. But they never got with me after 24 hours, so I called back. And they sent me an email saying that it was turned over to a different company. I'm glad they did because the gentleman that came out for my repair did excellent work. He explained everything to detail. So, I was very pleased with him. I would recommend OneGuard to anybody that needs any type of home warranty in the house.

    We had an oven that was probably five years old and it had broken down, and the techs came and fixed it. Then about six months later, it broke again. The techs tried to fix it and had replaced everything inside of it but it still wasn't working. I paid the service fee and in this case, they were going to replace it with the same model. But I told them to give me the cash. I bought a different model so it was a different price. I paid more out of my pocket but they gave me the same value for the stove that I had and I was happy with it. I've recommended OneGuard to anybody I know.

    The service is okay. But it could be improved. OneGuard should have a systematic approach to blocking certain contractors. The contractors that they work with are not consumer friendly. They’re companies that should be on Ripoff Report, and OneGuard continues to partner with them. The service is typically booked online. In order for me to reject the contractor, I have to call OneGuard and inform an agent. I would have the agent open up the service request. What is convenient is having a network of available contractors and not having to cold call and spend time getting people to give me quotes, trying to figure out who's going to upsell me when they come. So there's a bit of trust and ease with the home warranty. But the benefit is not as great as what is advertised.

    For a while I thought OneGuard was a decent warranty company so we purchased it for all 4 of our properties. However, the second something big like an AC unit goes out they will find ways not to cover with all the fine print. Then someone else like a hot water heater goes out, you will still be stuck paying absurd amount of money for things "Not Covered". Best yet is when they send a company out that is not authorized to work on your type of appliance so they send another company out but charge you another service fee for the exact same issue. Needless to say with these terrible experiences I have cancelled all my accounts. As I said I thought they were different but guess making money and cutting corners was more important then customer satisfaction.
