I had ADT 20 years ago. I still have stickers up on my windows. I was not satisfied with the company I'm with now and called ADT. They had a better plan and better service. So, I had them come out and install their services. I had to install my outdoor camera myself. The technician took care of everything else. It was very fast. The technician doesn't do electrical work. Since I used to be an electrician, I knew how to do it. All I had to do was take off the existing wires and hook those up for my wires, and it was good to go. It was simple. Everything hooked up fine. Everything works great. I love the whole system. I want to keep it. The quality of the cameras were great. I loved it. It's a bit more than what I'm paying now. But it was worth the service. And customer service was great. Unfortunately, I found out I was under a contract with the company I have now. So, I had to cancel ADT.

We had a technician come out for the installation of our ADT Self Setup but there was a part that he couldn't sell us for some reason. So, he recommended we call back. I called back two weeks later to get that stuff added and I was told that they could just send that out to me. Then I could either watch a video or call if I had any concerns. It was a glass break detector and the instructions were in the box. It was unbelievably easy to install and it took 15 minutes total. I liked having the technician at the beginning to tell me what I needed and to do the hard stuff. But if I need to add an easy part, I'm doing that 1,000% again. I also like the phone interface. It's very intuitive and I like the assurance of being able to check on my phone to see what's going on at my house.

A few months back, I was calling areas and getting quotes. The guy that I spoke with at that time came over and showed me a couple of options, but I didn't go through with it. When a promotion was available, he reached out to me and told me what ADT had and I decided to go ahead with it. The representative, Corey, told me once equipment comes, he can come over here and walk me through them and that's what he did. Setting up the equipment okay. However, I thought I would've had a better view from how my camera is, and sometimes when I turn my system on, I have to log completely out and log back in in order for my code to work. It happens at least once or twice every day that I use the system.

The dealer I purchased through was good. He guided me on what I should buy and which I should need. He walked me through the entire process and he was good at explaining. He helped me install the ADT equipment as well. It went smooth without any issues.

The rep stated some things that would happen in prices, but when we signed up, those things changed. We had another carrier and the only reason I changed was because our equipment was getting older and I wanted to update it. So, I was looking for someone that was a little bit more reasonable on cameras and equipment and I found ADT.
We live in a one level ranch home and the serviceman who came out put the cameras too low. You could just take the camera right off the holder. He did this in July. He also didn't attach the cameras to the holder with that little wire. So, if the wind would come or if something would bump into it, the camera should not fall to the ground and break. But he didn't do any of that. He didn't have them set the way they were supposed to set.
We called customer service and explained that the cameras were too low. They came back and put them up higher where the gutters are like they were supposed to be. The gentleman said, “Well, where are your wires?” We said, “We don't have any wires. What are you talking about?” He said, “These cameras should be connected so they can't fall off. You can take them off to charge them, but they won't fall off if somebody bumps into them or tries to steal them.” So, we tried to get the wires. But we still don't have the wires. When he came back, he didn't have the wires on the truck. He said they couldn't find any in the warehouse. He had one but we had four cameras. So, they said they’d order them. It is almost November.
We had an appointment last week. But they canceled. We have an appointment tomorrow. We'll see if they show up. My cameras still aren't on correctly. It is very frustrating. There have been other issues, but I don't even wanna think about them because then I get all frustrated and worked up again. The customer service people give you a lot of lip service and say, "I'm sorry we have to cancel." I said, “Yeah. But you're making me wait another week. I called off for you today.” They canceled at 10 after 4:00. Our appointment was between 12:00 and 5:00. So, I did lose a day. They're coming again this week, so one of us has to be home again.

I just knew about ADT and once I got my home, I ended up getting the same system. It’s excellent. The features work perfectly and I've never had an issue with them. So, it’s been going good. I called customer service about getting assistance on how to set up my home base and I had an issue signing into my ADT account because my wife called for me to get the ADT system and she ended up making the account under her email. The reps assisted me with getting my account switched under my email and I was able to log in and set up the home base, and get all the detectors working with my app. I can use my app now and it works well. The system is responsive and there's nothing much to do once it's set up. It's good to go.

My solar panels are functioning and all my cameras, except for two that I need. My doorbell and backyard cameras are not working and I've tried calling ADT to come out. They had an appointment scheduled but I found out it was a remote one and the guy I talked to on the phone said he didn’t even know why ADT scheduled it. It should have been a technician coming to my house. So, I've been dealing with that. Then, ever since ADT took over solar panels, you can't get anyone out to the house because they've shed all the places down around here that work on solar panels. The customer service people are okay but they are not very knowledgeable on the cameras. They transferred me to Google and Google has called me back. People shouldn’t go with ADT and they also shouldn’t get solar panels for the ADT, especially if they live in this area. Because if something happens, they won't come and work on anything.

The sales rep was awesome. I received the products, and the only thing I'm dissatisfied with is the Google Nest for the doorbell. I ordered that and I'm going to return it. Otherwise, for the security on ADT, it's awesome. I prefer and I would recommend everybody to ADT. They're great.

A family friend referred an ADT representative, and I got the equipment two weeks ago. I did the installation myself, and it was easy. I'm thinking about adding on an outdoor camera, but I haven't decided yet.

So far, my experience with ADT has been positive. Somebody called me to make sure that I was doing okay getting the equipment set up. My brother was able to come over and help me install the equipment, but I have a few last pieces to put together. So far, all the equipment looks really nice and we really appreciate it being sent over. I just have the online setup portion and the Google Nest part to finish setting up.

I love my system and I've never had a problem with ADT, the home security. However, I'm having an issue with my reimbursement. I ended up calling and having to pay for a technician to come out to set everything up. They brought their own supply, so I was instructed to send back the other equipment. The system was installed on the 18th, and I sent back the self-setup equipment on the 19th. Not only did I have to pay to send it back through FedEx, but I still haven't been reimbursed for the self-setup equipment that I purchased, which was almost $200.

I had a wonderful relationship with my company before ADT bought it out. I'm sure that I'm just getting used to it, but my experience has not been good so far other than the operation of the system is good. It's just the people that are not good. I was trying to set up my equipment and it was a nightmare until I found the right lady after sitting around the block for about 15 minutes. After that, it went really well.

I found ADT via a blog on the internet that was comparing different security systems. I went straight on to the website, purchased directly, and it was a fantastic installation process. I've canceled the service though. When I signed up, there was a discounted offer via the website for some of the equipment. So I added on a bunch of sensors, a fire alarm and smoke CO2 detector, etc. At the discounted price. I paid the full thing upfront. The equipment arrived and it was installed, then I checked my account about two weeks later. It showed my account was in a deficit for the remainder up to the full amount, which was highly frustrating.
I called ADT up to see what happened to my signup discount, and they said they couldn't identify it despite going on the website live with them and had the same signup offer. They couldn't wipe out the remaining balance for some reason and said the only way that I can resolve it is by canceling the subscription because it's within the 30-day window of sending the equipment back and then sign up again to have the discount reapplied. I'm gonna send the equipment back, but I'm gonna go elsewhere instead.

The ADT sales representative was concise and straightforward. He explained to me what kind of services they have. The two guys who came over and set up my system worked really diligently and it took them about four hours. They were professional and they did a good job. The neighborhood I live in is pretty quiet and peaceful, but there's a lot of crime all over. So having ADT gives me a sense of security and I feel good having it in there. I was with A-TECH when I first moved into my house and I had them for about the first six and a half years and I couldn't possibly be more dissatisfied with them. They were very unprofessional. It got to a point where the alarm I had with them broke and they sent four different technicians out on five different occasions. But none of them could figure it out.
I kept sending them one email after another and they just ghosted me. So I canceled with them and I went with ADT. My front door was supposed to be alarmed along with all the other windows and A-TECH never put the sensors in my front door for the last almost seven years. I even spoke to the president of the company and he said he'd get right on it. But I never heard from him again. In the end, they gave me a refund of $35. I wouldn't recommend them for anything to anybody. I also had an old keypad with them, but now with ADT, I have this touchscreen which is more state of the art. Their system is better than better compared to the one I had before.

I was referred by my sister-in-law to ADT and they are really good and helpful. They're available 24/7. I was having issues with my alarm. It was saying there was an error on the sensor, and the rep walked me through how to fix the error. I like the system. It's very secure. It works great for what I need it for. I like the talk and listen feature as well. I could see my kids real time and talk to them without a lag. I would highly recommend ADT if others are looking for a security system for their house.

An ADT rep talked to me and I wanted to try them because this is my first security system. He was great and he didn't make me feel dumb because I had so many questions about it. So far, I'm enjoying their service. I live in an apartment and I live upstairs. So every time a person comes upstairs or downstairs, I can see them. I order online a lot and the UPS guy generally throws my package on the porch. But now, I can tell him to place it in front of my door.

I called two hours after the system was installed. The alarm system started going off by itself. It was supposed to have been installed in June. When they came, they said they couldn't install it because of the high speed internet was in and out. When the company came out to check the lines again, even though they laid new lines before ADT come, and they gave me new boxes because this was a new company I started with in May for Wi-Fi. So I had two new boxes before I even talked to ADT. I had new lines laid from inside out, because I was a new customer with them. When the ADT tech showed up, he said that it wasn't adequate. He told me it was probably the box. But I said, “No. If anything, maybe it's still the line. Because they just buried it..” It was working fine with the other company I had and I said I didn't have any issues.
The ADT tech wouldn't install it. He said he had to come back. And then when he came back, the agreement that was made on what I was getting on July 4th special, which they still had the special a couple days after that, so when I signed up, I had talked to the supervisor of sales and that he actually did a remote viewing of my house of what I would need to protect my house so I would have security and could see all around my house. But when the guy came back, he come back and he started saying, “Oh, you don't get that. You don't get this. You don't get that.” I said, “That's not what we agreed,” because I wrote it down. He said, “No, that's not what's on my paper. I gotta go by what's on my paper.” So they took it out. ADT told me it would take 60 days when I called the other day to get my refund. It was the worst experience I've ever had.

The tech who came out was very nice. It took him a little while. He had a few issues, but we ended up getting everything. He explained a lot to me and he was very professional and put everything where I wanted it to go. Also, when I called their customer service, I had no problem getting in touch with anybody. Usually, I would call a couple of times and I would be able to go straight through and talk to somebody. But I think I'm getting billed too much, so I was gonna call, and I have an issue with my equipment. Within three weeks, my battery is dead and I would think they would at least last several months, so I don't know if the battery was old, used, or defective.
Other than those, I do like being able to do this from my phone. I love the key ring that I have and the doorbell camera. I bought the key rings after the fact. I talked to somebody because I was trying to buy them online and a guy helped me with my order and got them out less than a week. It was just $20. That was a good investment, because I got one for me and one for my husband. We can be outside the door and when I'm pulling up in the car, I can set it right there. And then I can look on my phone and make sure that it's actually set. Then, if we don't wanna give somebody the code, we give them code or keys and we can delete that and then give them their own codes so they can come in to give stuff to the dogs or something like that. That's a plus.

I had a really good interaction with the sales guy. But I had issues with certain placements for the window and the doors. ADT has the self tutor but it doesn't have an option for the different ways that windows open. So I had to figure that out myself. When it came to the door, there was an inch and a half gap from where you put the sensors and it would have looked terrible with the spacers. You would have had to have used at least an inch of spacers just to make them equal. So I had to figure out a way to do that without spacers and I got that. But the issue that I came across with that was sticking them onto the door, taking them off, and sticking them on. Most of my sensors that are on the doors don't have any stickers on them. I had to go to the store and buy that tape. I got them all to work.

ADT is professional and they have 24/7 monitoring. Setting up the system wasn't difficult at all. I'm a techie person and I know how to read. I followed the protocol on how everything works. If a person doesn't know how to read or understand, that's when it's a problem. The system has been amazing. It’s keeping wolves, coyotes, possums, skunks, rats and whatever uninvited guests away. A maintenance person had gone in sometime last week and it set the alarm off. ADT contacted my sister who I have as an emergency contact.

It was very difficult to do the self setup system, especially putting the doorbell in front and the camera at the back. A guy that I know came out and put it up for me. We did the sensors by the windows fine but as far as the doorbell, you have to screw it into the wall and try to fit it on down on the base part. It was real tough and we got aggravated and upset about it. We did it in five days. I also can't get the camera to record at the back as well as the front. I'm an older person and I don't know how to do it all. ADT's customer support has been good and they've put me to the right places but it's too expensive. Every time you get somebody to come out, they charge you by the hour and it's a half an hour. That's a little bit much. I also hate the part that you have to take the doorbell off and charge it up every four to five days. It takes eight hours to charge it up completely.

I am not happy with ADT. I had it for two days, and it wouldn't let me on the back door. And when I called, they said it's 150 an hour to come out and 45 every 15 minutes. I said, "I just paid you $2000. I don't think so. I'm not paying you a nickel." So, they came out, they had to call the manager to get it approved, and they didn't charge me. I have had to buy $30 worth of batteries to put in the sensors because they went bad. I've got them on speed dial for the front door camera because that quits working. I have charged it four times and it keeps saying it needs to charge.
I had virtual customer support, which did nothing. I had to pull up an app on my phone. Evidently, my font is too large and I couldn't get to the thing that I had to press. I didn't know how to change it. So, they set up a real appointment on maybe Monday. I got it on the calendar. But I have brand-new equipment for $2000 that doesn't work for the almost two months I've had it. The man today told me, "Well, there's no charge under the 90-day warranty." I said, "Well, that's not what they told me. They told me I only have warranty on the equipment, not on labor." "Oh, no." So, I don't know if they were just trying to get money from me or what. I was insistent. I wasn't paying them a nickel.

I called ADT to get the regular system where a tech would come out and get it set up for me, but the salesman set me up with the self setup which I didn't know anything about. He was a little misleading and should have been way clearer about doing that. I complained about it because I couldn't figure it out. They made me sit on the phone on hold for over two hours to get somebody and they sent someone out. The tech that showed up to the house didn't even know what he was doing on setting it up then proceeded to tell me that if he did anything, it was gonna cost me $300. That was out of whack.
I called ADT back to cancel it out. They set me up with someone that called me and walked me through the whole process, which was much easier. It made it a lot smoother. But if I were to try to do that on my own, that's ridiculous. For ADT to better serve people, they could have one of their representatives get on the phone with the customer and walk them through because there are way too many steps for any regular person to do the self setup.

I was in the process of moving from one apartment to the other and I had no clue the ADT setup happened until I got moved. Then, they wanted to hook up my service in my new apartment. They told me I was gonna get the same thing that I had with Adler. As it turns out, I did not. I had a doorbell camera and I was supposed to get a door sensor and three window sensors. Because I have a dog, the technician said it's going to set off my sensor anyway. In the end, we didn’t communicate well, and they didn’t either.
I was paying 29.99 and after that, ADT was charging me 26.99 and a different $15. I asked what it was for and they presumed I had a camera. The salesman told me before he left and I was under the impression I was gonna get this indoor camera. He said he talked to his supervisor who said that if I get them a referral, they would give me a special rate at $40 a month. I said that if they’re not gonna honor what I had with Adler, they need to release me off this contract. As it turns out, we’re still going forward and I finally got the gal straightened out yesterday. She asked what the $15 was for and I said I settled that two weeks ago. So, it’s been hectic.
As far as customer service goes, they've been good. It's just been very confusing for me and them, because every time I call, I tell the first person one thing and inevitably, they always have to transfer me to a second person. When I'm trying to do something on my lunch hour, I don't have 45 minutes every go around and sometimes, it's been that.

Initially, I found ADT exciting, but later on, it wasn't that great of a service. It was challenging for me, especially because of the installation part which was done in my house. It was not that satisfactory. There was a technician who visited my house. Initially, when I spoke to the marketing folks of ADT, they set me up with so and so amount for all the quotation and what I asked them for. When the technician came over to my place, he revised it after looking at my house. He said, “Go with this. Go with that.” The bill came up all the way around like double the amount, which I was anticipating from the starting amount which was quoted to me. It was almost double the amount even though they said they have given a lot of incentives to me. I wasn't that satisfied after the technician has visited and then he added the amount which was almost double just for adding a few more sensors or items.
I felt like what the marketing folks initially spoke to set me up was a rip-off. They said it's a great deal and great package they have offered me. And after the technician has visited over, it almost changed. I felt like just in order to get the devices, I paid a lot of money, whereas if I could get on the Google and from Google itself on the browser and get from their own websites those and set up myself, it would have been more cheaper.
When the technician came in, he had all kinds of issues in order to connect with an ADT supervisor. He spent around nine hours in my house to set it up. I don't know what approval was needed for those things from ADT, but it was longer than what I expect in order to set up those installations. It took almost nine hours for him to fix it. Then there was a backyard camera which wasn't installed in my place. That was because he was looking to install a wide camera, and I don't have an outlet on my patio, so he said he has to drill through my house in order to run the wire from the closet all the way to the switchboard. I wasn't that happy to drill my newly constructed home. So, I refused him to drill the patio backyard camera. I asked him for a battery camera if it's possible for him to do it instead of the wide one.
He spoke with his supervisor, and then the supervisor told him that ADT is no longer doing the battery cameras anymore so it should be a wired camera. Then he was struggling to get that device removed from my account. He spent a lot of time to remove that one, and then said that I would be getting a credit back for that installed camera, and till now, I was struggling to get that refund. I spoke to the customer service many times. I was following up with them and explaining the case. Today I got a call. They said that they would be processing my refund and they would be crediting it to my account, which I can see tomorrow. I felt kind of a happy and relieved, but it's been like a follow-up from day one in order to have it resolved.
Customer service- wise, it could have been more better. I am thankful that they gave me a call back and they informed me about the status rather than me calling again and trying to know about the status of where it stands. And technician-wise, they should have been more skillful and communicative on things and be transparent and clear. But with the reputation of the company which carries 150 years of experience and from lot of friends which I heard, that's what grabbed me as well to go to ADT.
Price-wise, if they provided a clear invoice of how much I would be charged, that would be great. Not like you get a surprise once the technician comes over to your house and you've been promised for 900 bucks, you will be set up with a brand new equipment in your home. And when you see a technician coming over, you see almost the price double in the morning, which is like an 1,800 bucks. Then they said they provided an incentive of 600 bucks. I felt like $2,400 for just setting up the devices is very expensive because they included the charges for the installation of the professional and everything as part of my invoice.

I had Google and they were phasing out. So they switched me over to the ADT Self Setup. I don't think I'm connected to my phone, but it's okay.

I am over 75 and ADT Self Setup is not something that I'm able to do. I had a person over here assisting me with the setup. However, we ran into a lot of roadblocks so it took a lot more than even that person thought. There were a lot of errors on their part. Things got confusing. But now that it's over and set up, I enjoy it. My thing where you press in as to turn it on and off went out because I had ADT. I called to get a replacement, and what they sent me was the new system component. They sent me the new system component, which was ADT+. It's a different system. The thing that I had wouldn't work with what I've got, and there was an activation code for that that was not included.
I was on the phone with ADT for four hours. They couldn't come up with the activation code either. They said they would send me a replacement. There's no way you can have an activation code unless it's with that piece of equipment. And since it wasn't with that, therefore I needed to get a replacement for that. They sent me the Nest, which is not the same piece of equipment. On my phone, I got the app for ADT+, but I also got the app for the Google. Instead of another hub, ADT Self Setup sent me the Google Nest. I ordered a camera when I got the original replacement, so I got a new camera. But there were no directions how to charge it. Even now, I'm not sure because I plugged it in and I just keep it plugged in all the time, because the battery by would go out after some period of time, and it's not clear to me.
I stopped calling because I found out that they didn't know any more than I did when I called about the new system ADT+, because it was new to them. I got a notice that I'm supposed to have a permit from the city of Sacramento to have an alarm, which I already have. But since this was a new system, I got a new deal. I checked with the city, and I have a number for my permit. I called to give them the number, and they didn't know what to do with it. The rep said there was no place for him to input this thing. I'm exhausted mentally because my husband has been sitting here, wanting to know how come the thing is not working. I'm not a tech person, and the person that helped me had to leave and go back to whatever he was doing. They don't live here. So it was four days of two-hour calls, and a lot of it, I understood. Some of it, I didn't.
I got the emails with directions, but I didn't have time to go through those email things because I was so tense at that point. I'm not capable of what they want me to do. Self-install is not me. It was an experience I'm just finally getting over because my nerves are bad. I’m old. It was an escapade. I don't know about this ADT+ thing. Their people did not know either about that. And it was new. They said it was new. And I can appreciate that. I'm trying to be reasonable. And plus I don't get upset anymore. At least I try not to, because it's not good. So that's what I'm just saying. Whatever is happening, just what do we do next? They don't know. And they have to call somebody. I would be on the phone with them and I couldn't hang up because they couldn't call me back.

ADT Self Setup came out and set it up for me. The first day after the guy came out, I was very satisfied with this. I told the guy that set it up to take 644 out of the credit card. The guy said, "No need to do it now." I called them and they raised it from 644 to 800-something. I don't understand that. They also told me I had three days to cancel and I was getting ready to cancel on the third day. The system hadn't worked like it did that first day. Also, the tech came out the one time to reconnect me and show me the way it works. Today, I set an alarm and locked the doors and came back in, alarm was still on, it didn't do anything.

I called in to get a set up for a system and the person was pretty friendly, but a couple of things that they said turned out not to be true as far as the system. I thought I was to have three door cameras, but it turned out to be two. But when the contract came out, there were two there for that price. Also, I understood that there were to be the smoke alarms attached and I had to order those aside from the system later. I'm going to have someone come and put those up. They didn't attach to the old ceiling two things that he said that they would. I guess I misunderstood a couple of things that he said. And the price turned out to be more than what the gentleman on the phone quoted me. But the system is working fine and I have no problems with it.

I like the features of the ADT Self setup. We haven't paid the bill yet for this month. And we don't want it to get shut off. But at the same time, our thermostat is controlled by that. As far as the quality of the service, it’s great. It does well for us. They also communicated very well with me throughout the process. Because we couldn't pay all that money upfront. The rep, Gavin, would keep in touch and see if we still wanted it. Gavin was amazing.

We wanted to try a security system and hope that it will continue to work for us. The ADT rep was knowledgeable and seemed like it would be a good fit for us. The installer came and installed the door sensors, the camera and Ring doorbell. He was very kind and easy to talk to. However, we've had some issues - false alarms and batteries not working. The police came because we weren't home and it was a false alarm. The first guy on the phone from ADT said it could have been a spider or a fly that set it off on the sensor. I said, "If that's the case, it's not gonna work for us." Another guy came out and checked it. He said it was a malfunction in the sensor. He replaced it and we haven't had a false alarm since then. Hopefully, we're gonna get those things ironed out.

I like ADT's service. Every time my alarm is gonna go off, they always make sure they call and let me know. I love the company. Their prices are good. I like it. I have to get another routing box, so I could be able to use my camera. I can't use my camera right now because my Wi-Fi box won't connect. Other than that, it's working perfectly fine.

The sales rep was eager to promote the product. They set it up for me but they made a mistake twice during the shipment. They sent the wrong power cord so they came in twice to set it up. But the system works well so far. It helps monitor when people pass by my house. It's a little sensitive though. Most of the time, when a notification pops out saying someone is in front of my garage, I turn the camera on but see no one.

It's been good with ADT. I've had it for seven years and my parents also had it when I lived at home. The phone app is nice. That's what we use mostly. The price is affordable as well. However, I've moved it around to several different spots in the house and I get a 1-800 call every day saying that my base doesn't have cellular connection, but it's hooked up to my Wi-Fi.

I like the setup and the functionality of the system. If I move, I can take the system with me. But the difficulty with this system is, especially for a person who's not tech-savvy, it's very difficult to set up. There's no way that a technician can come out and help you set the equipment up physically. I'm very tech-savvy and by the book. I know how to follow instructions, especially when I have it on paper in front of me. But even for me, it wasn't to the T exactly of the steps on how to set the equipment up. For an older person, they'll just go, open the package up and start pulling tags. They don't even know that they need to be completely set up in the app to set the equipment up.
When I was having technical issues with the equipment, there was no resolution to it. I had to wait two weeks for the account to even start. It was something wrong with the app and you have to go through so many departments to get help. I used about all of ADT's tools and resources with trying to get in contact with customer service. When you call in, ADT has prompts for people to select, but the prompts aren't direct. It doesn't take you exactly to the department that you need to be in.
That's the experience that I still have an issue with. When I call ADT, nobody knows. I get all these numbers on the department that I need to get to and it's very difficult. They are wonderful people when you get them on the phone. They do everything that they're supposed to on how they were trained to help. But to even have them call you or to get an appointment, that experience is the worst. ADT needs to work on that. I am very dissatisfied with ADT and I'm thinking about cancelling my service.

The ADT sales rep, Whitney, told me they got a new service and she could hook me up. She also told me I could take it with me wherever I go. But if she had not come over to help me do that "self-install," I would have thrown it out the window and run it over three times. It was terrible. She wasn't getting paid to do that but I couldn't have done it without her. I could never upload the stuff originally. You gotta do some kind of pairing thing, and I couldn't do that on my phone. She happened to have an iPad with her. We paired the first thing on that then we went back to my phone. But it didn't work with my phone. Thank God, Whitney had another device. She even had to call a guy who was amazing. We were on the phone with this dude forever. He stayed on with us the whole time. It was over an hour and I would have sat in the corner and wept.
There are some weird things ADT needs to add to the instructions. There are two different ways to do and access things so they need to add some more details for Android and iPhone users. I had to have something on my phone specifically. The only reason I found out was because Whitney had notes that had been emailed to her at work.

I haven't been able to set up my doorbell ‘cause I have to go on the website and look. But it's a little bit harder to do than the rest of the stuff. We also had a couple hiccups ‘cause ADT had the wrong mailing address for the equipment. But other than those, it's been great.

ADT has very good customer service. Any time I've ever had any issues, it doesn't take me long to get someone on the phone to figure out what's going on. My battery goes out of my system and they normally ship out whatever parts I need within a couple of days. So, I've had a good experience with them.

My ADT is plugged in, but my sensors do not work. I've been asking for somebody to come out and set it up for me. They've been calling me for payment, but I have not used the equipment at all. Because of the way that my door's online, it doesn't set it. When I open the door, it won't send me a notification because it's not set up correctly. They haven't got someone out to help me. I've been working. I've been on the road. But I've noted that down a thousand times when they kept calling me back. I even asked them to send the stuff back. They said, "You're past your 30 days." And we're gonna have to do this because it's past 30 days. But I've been saying it since the first week. I'm very dissatisfied.

I couldn't get up where they put the cameras in. I'm disabled and I can't get up like that. So they came in here and did it. I still have a few more questions about a few things. But I've been able to use the system. It's a good service to have.

It's been a little rough with ADT. The police have shown up three times for false alarms. I had to turn the system off so the police wouldn't start charging me for it. The power also went out and for some reason, the router isn't working. Even on the cellular backup, we're getting tons of motion reads but no one's been able to help me figure out why. The whole system isn’t completely installed correctly. They said I was gonna need some Netgear Nighthawk repeaters. I've been on the phone with IT support three times but nobody knows how to install it. The cabin is two hours from my house. I'm not gonna be able to get up until the 28th so now we're just sitting here without an alarm system. The cameras are still working and I get a notification when they pick something up but now, I have to watch to see if there are any notifications.
You're looking for peace of mind but the system is creating more stress. The motion sensors are going off constantly. They're supposed to have brand new batteries when you get them. They said, "Maybe the batteries are low. That gives false signals." I changed out all the batteries, but we're still getting false signals and for some reason, the signals always seem to be in the wee hours of the morning. If for some reason my phone doesn't ring loud enough, I don't wake up and the police shows up. I'm waiting to start getting bills from them soon.
Their people have good attitude. They're trying their best. But the problem is they're reading off the screen, and they don't know how to intuit what the problems are for the most part. You're on the phone with them for 30 seconds, then you realize you're gonna be on the phone for an hour, even when you explain what the problem is. I'm always patient with them 'cause they're very pleasant. But ADT could be better. If they could make the system work the way it's supposed to, I would be fine with it. On paper, it does everything I need. I know that systems don't always run the way they're supposed to. But if I could get somebody to sit down, debug this thing with me and get it so it's working the way it's supposed to, I would still stay with it.

The ADT sales rep was awesome and really helpful. The setup is easy when it comes to setting up everything like the cameras and stuff through Google Nest. I just wish the clarity was a little bit better of the Wi-Fi signal. My Wi-Fi box is towards the end of the house. A lot of the time, the cameras buffer because they're in the front outside. I just wish their connection was a little bit stronger. But with the system itself from ADT, everything's simple. It is also easy to navigate. I really have no issues with ADT.

I had moved and ADT told me I had 90 days to get the system hooked back up or I'd have to pay my contract out. But they were already sending me a bill, saying that I owed them $2,000 and I was only into week three. I had no place to put the system in. I was buying a house, but I hadn't closed on it yet. ADT was trying to charge me the getting-out-of-the-contract fee. It kept popping up, and my bank would call me and ask about it. I told them not to put it through. ADT had it on my charge card after they told me they took my card off. But they didn't take my card off, and they were still trying to charge it. The bank rep recommended that I get a new debit card so ADT could no longer do that and that was what I did.
It came at a bad time 'cause I just lost my husband and it was a very stressful thing to have to go through. Every time I called, I never could get anybody to understand what I was saying. My niece had to get on the phone with me and we both called. After several weeks of calling, I got ahold of somebody and they got it straightened out for me. I got ADT back on now and didn't have to pay the contract thing after all. But a lot of their people that you call don't have knowledge about what they're doing.

The cameras are put up and I can see outside but I don't know how to set it up to where like if somebody tried to break in, the alarm would go off. I need somebody to come out here to show me how to work the whole system. When I called them to place a order for the ADT service, the guy told me it was a self-service. But I need somebody to come out here to set it up because it has never worked since I've had it. Also, it's always busy and they take so long to get somebody on the phone. I don't like that. And they would ask if I want a callback and I would give them a callback number but they'd call me back 45 minutes, sometimes an hour, later. I have had no good experience with them to where I feel comfortable and safe.

I still got some stuff to do like the door monitors, but everything works great. We're gonna be out of town for an extended amount of time and we feel much safer leaving our house with ADT taking care of the security and being able to monitor it. There's still some stuff I've gotta learn. I have family members who are gonna be checking the house and I looked at it but I'm not sure how to put a code in for them to come and go. They're separate from the one that my wife and I are using. But as far as the camera in the backyard, it's fantastic and when I was putting the smoke detector up, I dropped it, caught it in my hands, and it said that somebody was tampering with it. That's how good it is. We're getting exactly what we need. One of the other things that I like is that if there's anything that I need, they are there and they monitor it. I've gotten follow-ups so it's not like they just sell the equipment and then that's it.

I had Xfinity for a few years, then I saw ADT's commercial and the Xfinity stuff was acting up. I gave ADT a call a couple of years ago, got their service and I've been running their system ever since. It's the best I've had, so far. I ordered new equipment from them a couple of months ago, and everything was great. The guy was attentive to my needs and made sure I had everything I needed.

The price is affordable, and the sales representative was okay, but the online customer service experience was poor. I was trying to get new sensors put in my back door because they fell down while they were installing, and my call was transferred three times from one person to the other. They didn't get back to me, and the problem is not yet resolved.

The lady that sold the equipment was nice. However, I still have a couple of cameras I haven't set up 'cause the self set up is a little difficult. It's not the technical part, it's more on me trying to set it up in my house at a certain angle. It's mostly trying to hang it where I want to hang it. For a self setup system, it should have been cheaper.

So far, my experience with ADT is okay. I was disappointed with the sales person and the technicians. I had a problem and I was told that somebody was going to come out within a couple days. I was sticking around the house because they gave me a window between 12:00 to 4:00 and nobody showed. It was resolved a couple days ago, but I had to wait a couple days. I still had to wait for another technician, and they gave me another window for that technician to show. He came out maybe six hours within that day. Overall, ADT is not the best of the best, but that's a contract that I'm stuck with right now.

I have an an ongoing issue with ADT. The reps have been okay, but I've had a lot of issues with this whole service so far. When I do call, it seems that I'm tossed around, but no one's really able to help. Everything has been spot-on with ADT. One time, the plug fell out of the wall and I didn't realize it had. But I got a notice from them saying that there was a power outage. So, it's going to be great once we get all the equipment put together and fired up. We have the door thingy set up right now but we haven't put the doorbell in. I'm a little nervous about the alarm part because I'm afraid I'm going to screw it up and accidentally set it off. I'm home all the time with a house full of kids and dogs. And I just want to make sure I don't mess that up. But I'm excited about the cameras. I just got the solar panels for them, so we don't have those set up yet. But the quality of the cameras look fantastic. I've been looking on buying stuff on my own but what we have from ADT is better quality. It was a great opportunity.

Don't make the ADT Self Setup your first option, explore others. And if all those other options suck, then maybe you can compromise with ADT. I did the self setup because it was cheaper, and the process was easy. But one time, my back door sensors gave a burglary alarm and it got the police over. But it was just a false alarm. Despite that, it did alert pretty quickly and got the police out there. That's what we're paying that security system for, but when there's an actual emergency.
I've also noticed that the door sensors are not that good. It'll say one of my doors is open but it's been closed the whole time. So, I'm having a lot of issues with that and I'm thinking about discontinuing my service with ADT because of these discrepancies. I haven't reached out to ADT about them and I've tried to do some internal fixing, to no avail. When I set my alarm, I have to bypass the door sensor because it keeps saying that all three of my doors that lead to outside downstairs are open when they are in fact closed and locked.

I got ADT through my insurance. I thought it was gonna be free, then I learned it was gonna be a monthly charge, but it's not that much. So, it's fine. I have to pay for the cameras. Other than that, the rep was very informative, and my shipment came right away. When I installed the system, it took time to install, but it was easy instructions after. Everybody has also been good whenever I’ve had to ask questions. So far, everything's good. The system notifies me when anything comes back there in the view of the camera.

The system still doesn't work, and ADT still charges me. I never could get to the setup because the app wouldn't work on my phone. ADT tried to fix it, but they could not. Nobody even gave me the option of having somebody to come out and look at it. They told me to call back some other number. I called them back, and they told me that I had not tried everything possible to fix it. They set me up a virtual assistant appointment where they called me to try and fix it, and this person could not fix it. She said, "Yeah, I don't blame you for wanting to cancel it. I don't know how to make it work." So they transferred me over to someone to cancel it. I'm up to 10 hours on the phone with ADT and they still can't make it work nor will they give me my money back despite a six-month money-back guarantee. I have since bought a different alarm system that works.

If you have Google, go with ADT. It's something we like. It works good for us. The pricing is good. They always have a bit of discounts or savings here and there. They're easy to work with most of the time besides one little problem. But overall, I like it. I started off with ADT by Blue, and I wanted to get more sensors. I went to the ADT Self Setup website and saw they had a discount on a brand-new system. So, I went with the whole new system and gave my Blue system over to my sister-in-law.
Installing the system wasn't hard for me. I already knew what I was doing. I had Google products already and I paid the Nest Aware Plus. But trying to get them to merge together was hours and hours on the phone. I was almost to the point I almost canceled the ADT. It was bad. But they were nice. All of a sudden, I said, "Forget it. Just don't worry about it." And my Google app popped up, "Finish your setup." I was, "When was this? Two weeks ago." I hit "Yes." And it merged the account together. Google sent me and said, "We'll give you the rest of your money that you paid us since you're going with ADT's bundle, video and security, whatever they had."
The number they have on the website for ADT+ is the wrong number for the Plus versus ADT. There are many numbers for the ADT. So, they always have to transfer. They always transfer to the right department. I wanted a touchscreen panel, but they told me my system wasn't compatible with that, and I said, "It's a brand-new system." They said it wasn't. But I said, "All right." I have a panel now on the wall that I can disarm and arm as soon as I walk in the door. They said we could use the little Google Hub or Google Max. I got those. But I don't wanna have to run in there and go to the counter and do that. I want another one next to the door and I'm having an issue trying to get one. I want two for each entry. ADT kept saying, "Why don't you use a Google Hub?" I don't wanna use Google Hub because the kids touch the Google Hub and messed with it before. So, I don't want a Google Hub for the arm and disarm.

I just wish to have a pin pad in my house, to not always have my phone. I dig it out of my pocket a lot. That is annoying. Other than that, ADT Self Setup's rep was super cool. She told me that she had the system and did the self setup herself. She said, "Just by talking to you, I could have confidence that you have common knowledge and you can read. I feel like that's really all you need." She also said that if there was an issue, there was an 800 number that I could call and would be walked right through.

ADT has been around for a long time and it was the only one I knew at the time I decided on them. Dealing with the sales rep was not bad at all. When I started with ADT, the doorbell was ringing inside the house but now, it does not ring inside the house at all. From what I got, the price was okay. But I didn't get much.

I saw ADT off the internet and dealing with the sales rep was positive. Whoever came out and put the equipment up didn't do a good job but after that, ADT worked with me and another tech came out. She was awesome. The total price was a rip off though.

When I purchased the package, the rep said it was easy to install but I’m a senior so it was a little bit complicated, especially for a woman. So, I had to hire somebody. They had to download the web app and contact ADT so it took a couple of hours. But besides the installation, everything's okay. ADT is good. I've been using it for a long time.

I had ADT a couple of times in a couple of homes and when I inherited this house, I decided I wanted to put it in here. I had to have one of the representatives come in and install the ADT self-service for me because I'm in a wheelchair. He got the system in in one day and it has worked great since I've had it. I turn it off and on every day using my cell phone and can do it wherever I am. I can also check and see what's going on. I've got a camera that shows out the front and I can see what's happening out there. The only thing I don't like about it is it sends you updates every time something happens. Somebody can walk down the street and if it catches them walking, it sends me a notice saying somebody’s in the front yard. But I've only had it for just a few weeks now and I've been happy with the way it works.
The technician who came out was friendly. I'm retired now but I spent my whole life in the computer business so I know how all this stuff works and the way it's set up. We talked a lot about that and I learned a few things about it that I was surprised that it had. He was engaging and explained everything especially some electronic doors, locks put in and he was good about getting it done the way he did. I was surprised he was able to put it in without having to go out and buy a new back door for it.
The technician was here a good bit of the day but he finished it all off and went back to clean up everything. The only way you knew he'd been in the house is because the thing was installed. ADT is easy to work with. I picked out the pieces that I wanted to have put in and they didn't try to oversell it or talk me out of anything. They came in and put exactly what I wanted up in here, and I was happy with the way that we worked all that out and the way that it was installed. The service so far has been great.

Dealing with the sales rep from ADT was good but I wish the package came with more stuff in it and a little bit more details. They have a home base setup but I have no keypad for the door. So, it’s a little difficult. When you got a big two-story house and the only noise I have is on the little base station, I got no keypad downstairs at the door, I gotta run upstairs or do it on my phone. The cameras have a hard time staying connected and there's not a lot of options for setting up. Either turn the camera off or it’s on and it records and wastes the battery super fast.

The day after ADT set up the cameras, the front cameras went out. We had to call them to come back out and they said they were gonna send somebody out. My boyfriend took off work and came home so somebody would be here. Then they said, "We're not coming today. That's for someone to walk you through it to do it yourself." We don't have a ladder and we couldn't do it ourselves. They tried to charge us $100 to come back out and said they couldn't come back out for another three days. We were without a camera in the front where we needed the camera the most because we had just had a vehicle stolen in front of our house. That was a big deal for me because we were paying for protection that we didn't have.
Everything is good now except we get the notifications to the phone and it will say "person spotted in the front yard" or "vehicle spotted". When we go to the apps (there are two apps - Google Home and ADT), ADT doesn't work at all on my phone, and the Google Home app always is delayed. By the time they show the camera footage, the person has already gone off the camera or the vehicle has already pulled off. Since we have a higher internet speed, I thought the system would be a little better.

When I needed a home security system and looked at several different companies, ADT seemed to have a really good reputation, the setup seemed it was gonna be simple and it was at a decent rate. However, I didn't receive all the equipment. Some of the equipment that came don't work and some of them that came are the wrong equipment. It wasn't very easy and customer service is unavailable. I tried for two days. It was a lot of troubleshooting thinking that I was doing something wrong. I wasn't able to get anyone on the phone to help me troubleshoot any of it.
It was a learning curve to figure out how to get the notifications if there was anything going on, like a door being open or the alarm being set. But once I got it figured out, one positive thing that I could say is that I get the notifications and they're prompt. But ADT has poor customer service. I get phone calls daily, sometimes three times a day, asking me to pay charges that I shouldn't have. My equipment that should have came still hasn't come. This has been over a month. I still have equipment that doesn't work and the wrong equipment. I've been on the phone constantly trying to get these resolved but haven't been able to. I'm not happy with ADT and I would not recommend them to any of my family members or friends. I have other friends that have other systems and they're happy with those companies that are comparable to same price and same setup as I have.

When I bought a new house, I wanted a little bit of security. My dad has ADT and I went with them as well. It's cheap and setting it up was hassle-free. It's plug in and play. It was that easy and it works well. I'm safe right now with the cameras and the system that I have.

I didn't wanna have to wait on anybody to put together my system, and I like that ADT does the self-setup system. But when I got the system, I learned that I should've had a little help because my front door sensor is off track. I called one day when I first hooked it up, but I was on hold a long time so I never called back. But I feel comfortable having the system. I set it when I leave and unset it when I come back home from my phone.

I had some issues when I was setting up my ADT system. If my parents had gone through that process, they would not have been able to deal with it. I kept getting stuck when I was trying to set up the base between the WiFi step and I spent a really long time there. I eventually had to reset the base and do that twice. But I was able to get through to the next step after a couple of tries. The other issue I had had something to do with the door and window sensors. They're a little bit finicky and I had to order spacers for them separately because I have a very small difference between where the window is and where the frame is, and it wasn't enough to close the sensor. So I had to get two spacers for each window and door. I had the Nest sensors before and they didn't need any spacers. So, I didn't really expect to need that with ADT.
Then, I expected that there would be an online store that I could go to to order these things. But you have to call up ADT every time for that. Their website is set up where they treat you as a new customer and you have to get everything in one go. One sales rep I spoke to gave me her email address so that I wouldn't have to call up again. I would just send her an email with what I needed and she'd put the order together. She'd send me the order, I'd sign it, then it'd done, which was a lot easier.
Aside from that, I also had an issue when I first tried to log into the MyADT. After trying that for a while and being unsuccessful, I called up and I was told that MyADT doesn't pertain to the V5, which I didn't know. I was really frustrated with trying to log into MyADT because I thought I had the password wrong. So that was a little bit confusing. But as far as I know, there's no place where I can go in and view my account. There's a billing tab in the app, but it doesn't really tell you much.
Also, I had Nest Secure before and one great thing about the Nest product was if you hit the button before you open up the door, it wouldn't set off the chime. And I have small kids in the house and sometimes at night especially, it'd be best if things weren't chiming all the time. With ADT, I could just turn off the chime all the time, but I was hoping that button on the premium door sensor would also silence the chime, but it doesn't. Other than that, since the security system was set up, it seems to be working well.

I got a call this morning and they said I have an overdue balance. I told them I'm on autopay and they said the autopay didn't go through, and that I'm 31 days overdue. That's the first time I heard about it. They didn't send me any emails. I asked, "How am I on autopay and the card's active, but I'm overdue?" They said there was a payment for $50 that went through and there's another $9 payment that didn't go through. That was ridiculous. But other than that, it's been good. I trust the product. I like that ADT has Google products that you could integrate with it. Setting it up was very easy as well. I've had Google products so setting up Google products is nothing new to me. It's as simple as setting it up in the app.

After some people broke into my backyard, I needed security cameras. My daughter and son decided that ADT looked the best and a guy came out to install the system. He was very nice. But their customer service rep didn't explain anything to me about the price. I made several calls because they kept taking money out of my bank account. I was upset about that because no one let me know. Aside from that, the monitors that I have keep going on and off. I don't know if it's the weather or what. When I say, “Hey, Google, show me backyard,” it'll say, “Connect.” Then it'll say, “Try again.” When it comes back on, I usually have to say, “Show me side camera.” Then I go back to the backyard. Despite that, if my friends are going to invest in home security, I would recommend ADT. Their system is accurate and very good.

I had ADT in Columbia and loved it. So, I used them again. They looked really good on the internet and the guy I talked to on the phone was great. I like what I got and the equipment is good. But they gave me no assistance once I got the stuff and they would not even talk to me. They said I paid for a self setup package and I was on my own. But I knew nothing about the system and I had to hire somebody to put it in. ADT was horrible and I am not happy with them at all. I also don't know if I'm being monitored by them now. But if I am, I'm cutting it off because they do a crappy job.

When it comes to security, I'm going with who I've heard of for many years. We had ADT when I was a kid and I've heard about them 30-something years ago. So, I had their rep come over here and set up the security system. He was great and so far, everything is performing well. I love it and I've referred ADT to three different people.

ADT's reps came and set-up the system for me. But my experience has been terrible ever since I had the system. An ADT worker came and fixed something on it. But every day, it goes offline. They had me download an app and my WiFi is great. But they said they don't know why the system keeps going offline. I keep calling and telling their representative that my service is going offline about ten times a day, but nobody's doing anything about it. I also told them that I didn't want this second monitor but they never took it out and I'm still being charged for it. Their customer support was okay. But I was telling one of the representatives on the phone that I wasn't provided with the charger for the camera and she said that usually people have Android chargers. So I should be able to find a charger in the house. But I don't have Android. I have an Apple phone. All in all, I wouldn't recommend ADT.

I'm not happy with ADT. The system is new but it has a bunch of bugs. It sets up the alarm on its own when nobody’s in the house. The sensors go in and out. Sometimes on the main door, the sensor works but sometimes you can walk in the house and the alarm never goes off even though it's set. I called ADT and they wanted me to do remote stuff. I told them they need to come out and check this. But they don’t want to. They just want to keep pushing the IT people on me. But there's something wrong. The thing is not working and their IT guys can't help it if the stuff is not working on site.
I am glad my phone was on at 1 o’clock in the morning because the motion sensor misfunctioned in the living room in an empty house and set off the alarm. If my phone was not on in the middle of the night, the police would have been swarming the place wondering who broke in. So, it might help in thinking you are secure, but it's on and off. As ADT grows, their name recognition and all that, they are so not there. I could have gone through a cheap competitor and maybe got a better-functioning system. People should find something cheaper and better because this is expensive and it's no good.
When the ADT people came out, they didn't give me the sign. I called and the guy said he would come back and give me a sign to stick in front of the house. He never came back again. I called them and they said they were shipping it to me. Three weeks later, there was nothing so I called again. It took three people by the time somebody shot me an ADT sign. But other than that, the people on the phone are always friendly and nice. They just work within the system. It's not like they don't try. My main issue is with the quality of their product. You go in the house, the alarm is set once a week and it just never sets up. The people are much better than the product. I've been planning to keep calling ADT back but it pisses me off because they never wanna send anybody and it’s annoying me to fix the problem. They can see online the sensor is going on and on and nobody's touching it. And I keep telling them. Now, I can't access the memory of the app.

I went with ADT to get rid of the company I was with but I'd take my previous provider. There was a master console where if we wanted to leave, we hit the button and that was it. With ADT, I gotta hit and then I gotta put in a code number. Also, their console is not lit up so if I come in, in a dark area, I gotta make sure I turn a light on first before I can hit any codes to deactivate or activate it. The system works but I don't like the operation of it at all. It looks like cheap chunk of toys.
The other thing is, the salesman came in and I asked if he had a phone number and he said I gotta call this certain number. Then I got a letter from a regional manager that is in control of Tennessee and Kentucky and I appreciated the follow up. They also said what to do if we have any questions or concerns."
Plus, the other aspect is, when I signed in it, my buddy gets $100 debit card for recommending me but then my buddy called me later and said because I didn't do the professional installation, he's not gonna get it. But my first question when I called ADT to get an appointment was if my friend was gonna be eligible for that and they said yes. Also, there was nothing in paperwork or voice mail that said I had to have a professional installation. I wrote the regional manager and I got no answer. I wrote again, no answer. Customer service on that aspect was zero.

We have a Google system in our house and ADT Self Setup's security system integrates with the Google system so we went with them. They shipped us everything new and it was pretty self-explanatory. They do a good thing. Once you put it all together and turn it on, they delay notifications for seven days. That way you can screw up, test it, use it, and try it. That was handy. And they tell you what's gonna happen. We gave them a passphrase and if something goes wrong, they would call and if we give them the passphrase, they don't do anything. If we don't, they call the cops.

I didn't want self setup but it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. The first time I set up one of the motion sensors it was really late at night and I could tell that the first rep I spoke to was new. He had to look stuff up. I called back the second day and the second rep was very knowledgeable and thorough. He stayed with me the whole time on the phone.
I'm still getting to learn the system. Later on down the line, I wanna get more things. But I wish that the doorbell camera would rotate so I can see both sides. Other than that, I know that at any time, if something happens, there's someone there to help me. I had had some incidents where I've accidentally tripped the alarm or I haven't turned it off and I can say that ADT was pretty much on it. They called within 30 seconds of the alarm going off and us not being able to turn it off in a timely manner.

During the sale setup, I paid for everything before the equipment got shipped to me. But then after I set up the service, they're telling that I have not paid anything and they were asking me to pay again. There was a double charge on my account and I had to call multiple times and fight with the billing team. Also, I felt like I was kicked around like a football, which I did not like at all. I don't think the customer service reps have an idea of what they're doing and they're just footballing me around, which I absolutely hated. I was able to resolve it after multiple phone calls and I had to wait for 15 days for it to reflect in my account. Other than that, I'm satisfied.

I needed something quick and in a hurry. I called other companies and it would take longer to ship. ADT shipped faster than they did. Setting the ADT was easy except for the window sensors. They were a little challenging. I didn't really know how to do them. I just stuck them on there in some type of way, but they work. It's great. It's also reasonable. But for some reason, my camera goes out frequently and I have to troubleshoot it. It gives you the option to try to troubleshoot it. I'll just take it down and I put on the charger for a little while. I go through all the steps that I'm gonna do and then it works again.

I'm very pissed off with ADT. My experience is very bad. I've been with them for about 22 years. I love their service. It was very good. But what happened was I relocated myself to a different state. It was from California to Arizona. So, when I was in California, their service, cost, and response were very good. They merged with Google and started using Nest. When Nest was a completely separate company, it was very good. But when Google took over, they could not keep the quality of the product. Their service is very poor. Now, they merged with ADT and then a stupid thing happened. Google and ADT became one company.
Initially, I called them and said, “Hey, guys, I’m moving.” So, they said, “We will give you everything. Whatever setup is in California, we will set that up in Arizona also. And no charges.” But they charged me around $3,000. My payment in California is $44 for a lifetime. They did not give me that benefit either. They installed the equipment. Service tech support is coming on 7th September. Initially, it was the 26th of September. They canceled the appointment. So, now they're coming on Saturday. The two cameras outside are not working. I have six cameras. I never had this problem in San Jose, California with ADT because they were not using the Google Nest thing.
Then whoever installed that thing is a very unprofessional guy. They were supposed to give me a sticker for the window and for the yard sign. He did not give those to me. When I asked them, they said they were gonna charge me. At the end of the day, they shipped them to me, but before they shipped them, I already bought it from Amazon. So, the service after Google is very poor. The technical service support is going down the drain. All these companies' call centers went to India or the Philippines. I'm calling their 1-800 tech support service, and then a guy was saying, “Okay. Let me work.” He put me on hold. Then someone picked up the phone and then he started from scratch. I explained that he started working on that thing, and then I lost him. The way the system is set up or designed is not working. Once somebody attends the call, that call is not supposed to take somebody else.

When I moved into an apartment, the guy said it was easy to do the ADT self setup. So, I got it and I didn't find it difficult. Usually, I suck at that kind of stuff since I'm not a guy for technology at all. I've also had no issues with the system's performance and I like that I can check it from anywhere because I have two dogs. If you're needing security services, ADT is the one to go to. I taught martial arts in the Marine Corps and I got plenty of guns. But ADT is there for me when I don't need to use those.

In a prior house that we had just sold, I had Google Nest cameras that I really liked that I had to leave behind. I bought a package from ADT as part of the setup. The only thing that we've had issues with is the hub that it all connects to, sometimes, it needs a reset. Their customer service was really good. They were quickly able to pinpoint what they felt was the issue. Now, if we've got that issue, that typically resolves it. We've got young children, so the texting during certain times when they're entering or leaving the house or a sensor goes offline is really nice because it's right in front of you.

I got an email about the ADT program because I have a State Farm Insurance and it was a nightmare when I called in. Supposedly, this was some brand-new program that just rolled out and it took three different phone calls to finally get someone who could walk me through trying to set it up. I kept having to call a different number because the number I called that was on the material didn't get to the right person. They didn't know what I was talking about. They were trying to transfer me and then I get hung up on and I had to call back. I finally talked to a very nice lady who helped me do some of it. But it's a little beyond my capability to finish installing the system. It involves screwing something by my door and near my water heater. I live alone. I'm gonna have to ask somebody to come help me install it that's handy.
I installed the main box and set up the little door monitors. So, they go on and off when the door is open. Other than that, I haven't done anything with it. If it was just a 65-year-old woman like myself who's not handy, ADT Self Setup is too complicated. If it was someone who was handy and knows how to use a drill or whatever they need to do to install this stuff, it'd be fine.

At first, I was nervous about going purchasing the ADT Self Setup. It costs more to send a technician out to do the setup for you and it was cheaper if you set up the system yourself. But once their rep explained to me how the setup was, and they also had the video, it was great. It went smoothly and I love it. I wanted to set everything up to make sure it was correct and the installation took at least about 45 minutes. So far, the system's functionality is great. I have a family member who took a look at the picture from the camera and they said it's good. Everything is secured and ADT is great to have in the home. I would also let my friends know that the self setup was easy to do.

I've seen ADT on Facebook and advertised on the website. And I've seen some positivity. My dad is an ADT customer and once the representative got there, he told me about the ADT Self Setup. I'm tech-savvy and it was self-explanatory walking through the process of setting up the system. If you're tech-savvy, it would take 30 minutes or less. For someone who is not, it will be a little different given you have to go through the ADT app, set up an account and then you'd have to go through the Google Nest and set up an account, and then link the cameras. If you were able to set up one account, which would set up your ADT account and also a Google account, it would probably be a little bit easier. But it was okay for me.
For the camera that I have, I'm able to see in color and black and white, and the same color even at night in the dark. Sometimes at my home, my cell service is not that great and given the camera is on Wi-Fi, I can always just call my kids' names through the camera and they'll come. So being able to talk to them through the camera is one of the best features. The only thing that I have right now is one indoor camera but I'm looking to expand, which will probably be in about a month.

ADT's sales rep came out here and helped me through the process. There are two apps that you have to download. There's the Google and there's the ADT app. If you want to look at your cameras, their rep told me that I needed to go to the ADT app instead of the Google app. The ADT app doesn't show you the full footage of the camera. So, you have to click on the Google app which says it deletes it if you go to the ADT app and then go to the Google app. So, you always have to go to the Google app first, which takes time. So far, I'm still doing that error because I'm not sure which one to go to first and that's what I don't like. Other than that, I like the setup. But I had to get the battery one. I couldn't get the wired system because I had to ay for it out of pocket. The price is fine, too. I'm not able to use my other cameras now because it has to be Google compatible. So, that put me down a couple of hundred dollars.

I set up the installation date with ADT and it was incredibly frustrating trying to understand the person on the other end of the line and they didn’t know how the new deal works. I told them to just pull the plug on it. Then, I got an American woman, who called me and said they’d call next week and get this sorted out. But she never called back. They said they were at the point where the equipment has been installed and they need just to make the connection. I asked how much it was gonna cost to send me somebody to make that connection and the rep said they don’t do that. So, I ended up going with another company to do it, who came and did the connection and charged me. It was a negative experience with ADT. I'm in a hospice situation right now, which was why we put this system in, and it made me feel sicker.

The system is all right and while I'm not dissatisfied with the service, I'm dissatisfied with how the self setup unfolded. It was a nightmare. It took almost three weeks with multiple times on calls with ADT. There were some issues on their side, and the system could not be activated. The sales rep had to chime in, and he was calling customer support directly to help. He helped enough, but from the customer support side, they should have been more proactive to see if someone is not able to activate the system. I was not getting enough follow-up calls. The system could only be activated after the sales guy escalated further after three weeks. I don't think everybody will face the same issue though. It was on a specific issue with my account, so overall, it's not going to be that challenging for others.

When I bought our house, I was looking for a house security system. I researched on my own and compared the reviews, then I chose ADT. The setup was good. The technician set up everything, but at the same time he didn't install the flood light from the back and the front doors. He said the electrician will come the next day and set it up, but the electrician did not show up in the next four days. That was a disappointment because we installed the camera and security system and had a plan to move somewhere else for a vacation. It didn't happen, then I called ADT about 100 times and they solved the issue. Somebody came and did the install at the end of the day.
The system is good. Sometimes it looks like the camera isn't functioning because of the battery, but ADT told me that it's saving the battery. It looks good, and I'm really comfortable. I have it to secure my house and my family, and that's my first priority. I'm glad to have it. I can go anywhere and set up the alarm. My neighbors have ADT too.

I wanted wireless and the reps told me it was easy to set up. They guided me through it over the phone, and everything worked fine. I go on the app to arm and disarm the system, and it’s easy. ADT is a good system to go with. But the price is a little high. All I got was a motion sensor and I didn't get anything for the doors, and I thought I'd at least get one or two for the price I paid.

We had ADT before so we were always gonna get them back when we moved to this location. We had some issues with Wi-Fi and some of the monitoring on the windows. It's an alright system, and the technician who came was very good. It’s just the little change with those batteries and monitors on the windows. I have to deal with it now. I've been calling for the last two or three weeks now, but I don't wanna continue to call and annoy them. I try to fix it the best I can. When I can't fix it, then I'll call. You can chat with someone on the app and then, they’ll give you a number to call someone or someone will call you. It was not difficult at all because every time I called them, they picked up the phone. And the wait is not as long either. The most ever wait was three minutes so that’s good. ADT has a great product and they back their services, and they are very customer-friendly.

I like that ADT has some monitoring. I retired and had some other things in my house. I needed more security. I thought I didn't have to do anything with the security, but I had to on this one too. But ADT is a good service. I set the alarm then we disarmed it when we came home from Maui. I forgot to disarm before we entered the door. The alarm went on, and my wife disarmed it by phone. I'm satisfied with that. At least, I get security if we're away. The alarm works. With my previous provider, I had to punch in the buttons. But with ADT, I can do it on my phone to arm or disarm it.
I am disappointed though. I didn't realize you gotta charge the doorbell thing all the time that the outside security camera is on. When the person came in, I asked, "I don't have to reboot?" They said not to worry about it, but I gotta reboot it. I have to pay the monthly charge which is $40 so I thought the camera is on all the time. But I gotta charge one of the cameras. I don't want that I gotta do extra work when I paying for the service. When I got the package, they didn't tell me how to recharge it. The salesman was friendly but he just sold me the thing. They gotta explain more to people especially to the elderly where they gotta do extra work.
They were also gonna charge several hundred dollars for installation. I called my nephew and he said he could do it. It took less than an hour to install and ADT assisted my nephew to set up the security system. That was nice of them to help him. He had the person on the speaker phone. The other camera is working. When somebody passes by, it says a person is in the area. But I'm not using the outdoor camera. It's not working. I hope the security is on all the time because I hate to have it off. Once I call ADT and they can give me an exchange for the one I don't have to recharge all the time, then I'd be satisfied.

My experience with the sales rep of ADT was good overall. However, I'm still having issues with the changing of my information. I was talking to someone in sales about the add-on for the window sensors that I had purchased. He was asking for my verbal password and I had just changed it because a certain someone slightly changed my information so when I call in and they ask for my verbal password, it's not correct because someone changed it. He said he could get someone to help me with that. He transferred me, but then he didn't give that person the information and I had to explain it and she wasn't very helpful. She wasn't very nice either and she didn't understand what I was talking about. She was very short and she just said, "Is there anything I can help you with?" I just said, "No. Thank you." She was just snappy.

ADT Self Setup is the best thing I've seen. It's a miracle. It's everything in my life. ADT has given me life in a sense that when I'm working at Amazon, I'm working while controlling my family. Whatever happens, wherever I am, I have my family in close, so in my hand. The system beeps me to say, “There's a person with something with whatever, the parcel, with whatever.” I'm very happy and excited.
I started making a campaign on my own without asking for permission, talking about ADT to my friends. I have friends in whom we share everything. We have to share also ADT. They need to have ADT too. From how I explained about it, they came to me. They're always at home, trying to see what is happening with the camera. They are satisfied. And there are five of them. Many of them want to join the winning team, so they can subscribe to ADT. Viva ADT.

I had everything set up. ADT came in. I talked to the technician, who was there for a couple of hours, and we had a game plan. He seemed very irritated to be there. I left. He ended up drilling holes into my kitchen wall. The guy came back and made sure he had rerun the camera, but the stuff did not work correctly. That guy that came back out was excellent with doing his job. But I got video of where I would come into the front door of my house and my door is open for minutes and the modem would still be blue. That made no sense. And once it tripped, I got 60 seconds for the countdown. Also, ADT talked me into this plug and play modem rather than a wall one. I'm almost to the point where I need one wired into the wall.
I spent all the money on the ADT Self Setup equipment but it hasn't worked correctly since I got it. I've been thinking about sending the system back and going with somebody different. I was ready to return the equipment before the guy came. That guy that ADT sent out last time won me over because he was good at his job. It was good for a week and a half. But now, it has all kinds of stuff going on. For some reason, my sensors have not been working great. I don't know what is going on with it. It constantly shows that there's a door open and all my windows and doors are closed. I have not deat with it because it has been an aggravating process.
It has been fairly good as far as the communication up to this point. But I had debated on calling ADT. They just came out. It has not been three weeks ago to get everything right. And I don't feel it's necessary to pay a service fee. I don't get that because I pay for the monitoring system. I got fire and the 24-hour monitoring system. Which I understand their job is to come out and to give their professional opinion of where cameras should go. Because where I had one of the cameras in the first place that they didn't wanna put them there where I had one of them, so I went with their professional opinion.

There are glitches between the camera system and the application. Sometimes it's a little slow. Other than that, it's a good system and I'm satisfied with it. We'll probably be adding spotlight cameras for my backyard.

I called ADT about the equipment and the sales rep was good. I bought the equipment, and they shipped them. However, what I got versus all kinds of different things was not what it was made out to be when I placed the order. I thought I was gonna get a lot more. There's not enough security. I gave the person the square foot of my house, and based on their plan, it's not enough. Apparently, my equipment needed an update that it never got, and my alarm kept going off even when I had it in stay mode.
The girl that I spoke to was very rude and kept telling me that I had my alarm in a different mode. I kept telling her, "No, I did not," that I was looking at my app and it told me what I chose. I also told her that every time I pick stay mode, my alarms go off no matter what, and she still was rude. She still kept insisting that I wasn't telling the truth, and she ended up transferring me. My system needed an update, and I got that.
There were no instructions that came with what I ordered at all. People just got their equipment and they had to figure it out if they didn't use a tech. That wasn't fair. There are also no incentives like people can buy an additional camera at a certain price. Everything is still full price. If I can go on Amazon and buy all these products for next to nothing, why do I wanna keep purchasing from ADT?

It took me a month to get the system set up. It was a home setup and I spent about three days trying to get it to work right, but the equipment side is not the problem. It was an easy installation. Setting up the cameras and getting everything to match up were easy. Trying to get the device to work properly and connecting to ADT was the headache. I kept telling them that it wasn't matching to the system, and they sent me back and forth to different techs. It was up and down. It took them a while to get the right firmware for the equipment to work properly. That seemed to be my biggest headache. In terms of customer service, I had some people that were really good and I had some people that were definitely clueless.

When I called ADT, the rep said the self-setup was easier and better. So, I went with his advice. It was a little bit frustrating because we didn't get it set up a couple of weeks later because there was something wrong with it. We had a few calls and no one could tell me what was wrong with the modem not connecting to my internet.
The last call I had with one of the reps was really good because he went above and beyond to find out the issue I was having. It was the Wi-Fi signal. He found the right one that had to be connected. He was the only one who thought, "Oh, you're on the 5G and it's 2.4, it's 2.5, something like that." After that, everything's great. I live in a rural area, so having the system makes me feel more safe. I like that I can observe what's going on around the house and the property and just talk on the cameras. Overall, everything is gonna be fast with ADT Self Setup. Unless you have an issue, it's straightforward and easy to set up.

The instructions were good. And it was easy. However, a number of the sensors were not doing what they were supposed to. They showed up in bypass mode. And there was no way for us to see that on the app. It was interesting because it happened to be the sensors that were added to the order. Because it came as a kit, and for additional sensors, you add sensors to the order. The sensors that were not part of the kit showed up as bypassed. I read about it online. It seemed to have been an issue for other people too. And many add-on sensors seemed to be a problem. We contacted ADT Self Setup and they helped us out within a day. We like the chime when a door or windows open. And I feel more comfortable having the system in the house.

When I called ADT, they were polite and they helped me with the things. So, it was good customer service. Getting in contact with them wasn't difficult at all. The only thing is when I called them, I went to one department and they kept sending me to another department. I finally got to the right department. They sent me to ADT, but then I found out I was ADT Plus. Right now, sometimes, the system shows in color, and then sometimes, it shows in black and white. I just haven't called in on that. Also, I hit my microphone to see if I could hear what's going on inside the house. I didn't hear anything. So, I gotta call in about that, too, because I wanna hear what's going on or what's being spoken inside the house. I don't hear anything. I would like to hear what's being said. Overall, ADT is good to have. I have it to keep an eye on my mom.

I left ADT because before when it was wired, the cost was humongous. But with the wireless services, it's fine if you are a technology person or have access to someone who can explain its technology to you. But if you're not comfortable with technology, I don't recommend it. ADT Self Setup's rep told me about the different parts of the system, what it would do, the cost, the easy setup part, and that it was wireless. It works well. The only thing is the doorbell.
I get notification on my phone when I'm upstairs and if someone is at the door. I had to get a speaker-like for downstairs to let me know that someone was at the door because I don't hear the bell and my husband is hard of hearing. So, if he's in an area near the speaker, he doesn't know that the doorbell is being rung. My grandson came and showed me how I could adjust it, but it's still insufficient to me. When my grandson needed something explained, they walked him through it and we were able to get it working. I usually have my phone with me so I know, but my husband doesn't have his phone with him most of the time. But I feel secure.

I got ADT so that I could have some peace because I live in an apartment building where we got janitors that just pop up in here whenever they want to and I didn't like that. Then I took the perks of just having it and using it mainly for the janitors so they can't come in here. Me and my wife would be in here and we'll be behind our closed door and they're standing at the door like, "How the heck did you get in the house?" They said, "Oh, yeah, I got the key." "But why didn't you let me know?" I told them numerous of times, "Call before y'all come. Call before y'all come." They never called before they came. Since I had this, they never come over here at all.
As far as the equipment, I got the cord ones. I should've gotten the cordless one. The only time I really prefer them on is when nobody's at the house. At first, I refrained from buying stuff that I consider nice because anybody could come in here. My wife works. I'll be having my kids over sometimes. So when they are here, it's cool. Sometimes, I might have it on while they're here and nobody else is here. But for the most part, I prefer the ones that's in the house off unless nobody's here.
One thing that I don't like about it that I just now started to realize is that the camera doorbell is reared towards one side. I wish it was more visible all the way around because I could come in the door where you can't absolutely see nobody coming in. That got me wondering why would they even make it like that. It is what it is. I guess it doesn't really make a difference because we still got the sensors on the door. I might wanna see somebody trying to come in still without the sensor. That means I could just have my code disarm it by getting in without being seen on the face. Other than that, everything is good. Overall, I really haven't had a chance to really put the system to use, but I do feel very secured when I'm out and I could just monitor it if I wanted to.

I had SimpliSafe before and I didn't really care for them. ADT is cheaper and offers more services. SimpliSafe is kind of like a Gen Z product, and ADT is actually bringing more value for what you're paying for. I look for value when I buy stuff. Setting up the system was pretty easy. Everything was peel-and-stick. You don't have to screw anything in except for the Google camera that I had to screw in, but everything else was pretty simple. I was done in about 20 minutes. ADT reached out to me a few times to let me know, "Hey, your stuff has arrived. Do you have any trouble setting it up?" Or "Hey, we saw your stuff, they got set up. Do you have any questions?" It was pretty good. They're very customer service heavy and I appreciate that.
I use the camera to monitor my carport and my car. I have an electric car. So when it charges and if anything happens, I can just pull up the camera and see. Or if packages are delivered, it'll let me know if somebody is bringing a package to my house. So it's pretty neat. I pay ADT 30 bucks a month and that's pretty solid for a security system. I mostly use the app and I also used the website a handful of times. It doesn't have any issues loading. All the links work right. The app is way better, though. It's super convenient. Everything is right there. I don't have to click any other menus or go anywhere else.

After we talked to the original sales representative that we dealt with, we thought we were buying the system for $197. So I put on a charge card and we thought we had the system paid for. It's just a basic system. But a couple of weeks ago, we started getting phone calls saying that we owed another almost $200 and that there'd be one more payment after that. So we got that straightened out to where the first $200 we paid covered it. Then a few days later, after they kept putting us on hold and hold, I was on the phone one day for 83 minutes. I was trying to figure things out and I was on the phone for so long that their phone system shut down. The guy couldn't get back to us and finally, they got the $197 taken off where the system that we have was paid for.
ADT turned around and started calling us, saying we owed $80 for our service, which they said that we already paid in the first month when we signed up for the program. So, we ended up paying the $80 even though it was for two months. We just got it last July and then we paid for August. So, their system doesn't make sense to me. I don't know if we're a month ahead or if we're even up. The billing department sucks.

The reps were very professional and available when needed. The system is 90% reliable. Sometimes the system goes down or my camera disconnects from the internet and I need to reset it. But overall, I sleep better at night knowing that if someone were to even open my door or window, the alarm will go off and it's connected to ADT and they're monitoring it.

Setting up the device was very lengthy, having to go through Google and getting multiple apps. I was there for an hour and a half doing that. I'm tech savvy, and for someone who's a little bit older and not familiar with their device, that might be a lot harder for someone to undergo. Customer support is a little frustrating. I went through a lot of individuals who were helping me through my case. I understand that they have their obligation and limitations for certain things, but I didn't feel heard, especially in the beginning of the process. I went through four different transfers and spoke to a manager even who did not get my information accurately. It was a mess. That was my biggest disappointment that's why I canceled my service. I can deal with the rest and they were willing to come out and fix it, but the type of customer service that I experienced was very poor. I was very shocked at that. Also, the quality of the camera is not as clear as I thought in comparison to what I have now.

I was looking into getting my own cameras because I wanted it to be in the front and the back of the house but ADT said they couldn't do it. The cameras are not in the places I wanted them. I wish I could have a camera in front of the house. They told me that I got two of them on the side, the back house and the front house. But I don't really care about the two that's on the side. The technician was also here for a long time. He was trying to log into my daughter's phone but the WiFi wouldn't work. It was a lot.

It would be good if ADT would let you pick and choose. I have three exterior doors but I only got two sensors. Instead of having all those water and temperature level sensors, I would prefer to have the glass break sensor. I got a big picture window downstairs and if they don't open the door and break the glass instead, then I'm out. I don't have a motion detector or anything to let me know if somebody's downstairs. I've got four doors that you could come in, but one of them is behind the privacy fence. If somebody's coming on that privacy fence, they've got more problems than I can help them with. Other than that, the system has been good. I just got to remember to turn it on at night when I go to bed.

The ADT rep walked me through step by step with the equipment and went over everything in detail. He was a very friendly person. The equipment came very quickly. When I first got it, if someone would be at the front door, it would tell me that. If I'm in the living room, it would tell me that as well. But I am having issues where someone's still coming inside my home. Things are still getting missing. I don't think the person that stayed here before me turned the key in. I think they still have that key.
I've been speaking with different agents on the phone and every time I talk to someone, they are very friendly. They don't rush me. They've been telling me that they think it's the app on my phone but I'm not very good at using the app on my phone. I don't know how to do that. They told me that perhaps I could get a relative that could help me to go to the settings on my phone. But it's gonna be a month or two before I can get to a family member ‘cause they live on the other side of town. One of the persons said that they would send a tech out, but there was gonna be a fee and I couldn't afford that. They also promised me in the beginning that I would receive a $200 gift card that I could use any way that I wanted to but I never received that card. Other than those, I love the service. It's good and I would recommend it to anyone.

Everyone has been great but we haven't been able to fully utilize the system the way we want to. I've had it going on two months now. At night, the system goes off because it randomly gets off track. I try to hurry up, get up and push the code in but I had an automated call the very first time that it happened. I still have to set the system up. It's way too expensive for someone to come to the house to do it. It's an extra 400-something dollars.

My experience with the ADT team has been stressful so far. I ordered the self-setup online. Then I got an email that said my payment was received, but I never got a tracking number, and it didn't come. So, I called and I talked to different customer service reps. I gathered there's some sort of contract you have to sign for the product to ship out. I went through all my emails and I haven't gotten it, but I wasn't supposed to be charged until I signed the contract.
I was on the phone with a customer service girl, and she canceled the first order and refunded me and placed the second order. I got the second order, and I got the contract. I signed the contract for it. Now, I'm getting a bunch of calls to get the refund back of the first order, which is stupid. Other than that, the setup was easy. It was just the billing part that sucked, and the confusion. Overall, the system is good. It does what it's supposed to.

I've been having issues back and forth with stuff. Also, the way the price was said in the beginning wasn't what ended up on the day the equipment was installed. At that point, we felt like we were obligated to get it. But their customer service isn't too bad.

I used ADT 20 years ago, and I looked it up on the internet recently. They were really good at burning my phone up right after I purchased the system to get it connected, then when I had problems and told them what it was, I never heard back from them again. My system is working, but the door camera is not working correctly. I can't talk back to the person like I can with the other exterior camera. I explained that to the lady who kept calling me and she was supposed to have a technical person call me, but that never happened. I still have the ongoing problem, although I got it resolved.

I had a good experience with ADT Self Setup. The setup process was good. The rep was very friendly and sweet. The functionality of the system has been perfect. Everything has been good. I work all the time and I need a little security at home. I like that I can set it up from my phone if I forget to do it before I walk out of the house. I feel more secure since having ADT.

It felt like they were consistently increasing the bill without permission. Trying to cancel and get out of the contract was a disaster. I had to call multiple times to cancel the service. I still have the account open. Very frustrating.

ADT is an old company, but they lack integrity. I had a scheduled installation, and it was supposed to be free, but we had a tropical storm that came through and knocked all the power out that day. So, the appointment was canceled. When I went to reschedule the appointment for installation, they told me I would have to pay a worth of 250 for the technician to come out. It wasn't my fault. I didn't cancel the appointment. There was a natural disaster. I was on the phone for over two hours trying to get someone to reschedule me and they kept cold transferring me back into the queue. So, I canceled my service with ADT. I only had it for 14 days, and I had a very horrible experience. I'm sure everyone doesn't have that experience, but that was mine.

ADT was having some kind of promotion and a guy named Jonathan came out for the setup, and it went okay. I got a backyard camera and it works good in midday, but at night, it's all grainy. I can't see anything at night ‘cause it's in black and white too. Another thing is when the internet goes down, the system doesn't work. Besides that, ADT is good.

I have seen the ADT yard signs for a long time, but I didn't decide to do it until one of their agents did a door knock. We sat down and talked about it then, and I was satisfied with him. He was a nice guy. The only time I use the system is when I'm not going to be here at night or I'm away on a trip, and so far, everything's working fine. I'm satisfied with ADT.

I've had ADT for quite a few years now. We lived in a rougher part of the city, and I got it for security. Setting up the system was easy. It's self-explanatory as long as people follow the instructions step-by-step. It took me about 30 minutes, and the system works good. It does what it needs to do, and it definitely makes me feel a little better. We live in a little nicer of an area now, so my sense of security has improved from that as well.

I have two cameras and I paid almost $500 for it. I looked on the internet for security cameras around my house, then I called cpi as well as ADT. When the guy came over here, he explained everything to me, including how the systems works. He ordered it, then he installed it for me. Aside from that, I had a little problem before and the ADT customer service reps walked me through it with no problem. It was good. I have to call them again because on my tablet, the ADT+ in the home is not there anymore.

My insurance company sent me some information on ADT, then I ordered the stuff and set it up myself. The door alarm is not easy to put up. I can't even use it because I tried to stick it on there, then it fell off and I couldn't put it back. Besides that, I haven't had any problems with the other stuff I received.

My experience with the door-to-door salesman was nice. We had a break-in in our truck, and he wasn't trying to sell something. It was more about getting me to relate to the system. The system wasn't complicated to install too. The videos were very knowledgeable, and my experience with ADT has been going good so far.

ADT made everything simple, and it was quick. The only difficulty I had with the setup was that the system runs off of a 2.4 gigahertz network, and my router was only a 5 gigahertz network. Everything else was straightforward. I ended up calling ADT and it was easy. I wasn't on the waiting list for that long. I was able to get ahold of somebody quickly, and they hooked me right on up. All in all, my experience was painless, and I feel way more secure and comfortable having the system. If someone wants to feel secure while they're at home or away, ADT is their guy. They've been around for a while and it's tried, trusted, and true.

The self-install was simple. I had an issue with one of the keypads disconnecting from itself, and when I had to call ADT for support, they were very quick to try to fix it. When they couldn't, they said it could take a couple of days for the replacement to come and it came in a day and a half. They were very responsive and helpful.

ADT is a well-known name, and I read solid reviews. Anything that has good reviews that has a solid reputation, then I'm gonna go with it. I'd rather trust that than some other random place. Talk is cheap, but if it produces results, then I'll take it. However, I'm in the midst of moving and finding a new place, so I haven't had a chance to set up the system yet. Besides that, the sales rep was good. I was already sold, but he was very adamant about pitching me stuff. I said, “Dude, you don't need to pitch. I trust you.” That was all right though. He's gotta do his job. Maybe he spent time rehearsing and he wanted so much to do that performance, and I understand.

We had been robbed the night before and ADT's sales rep was very understanding of our situation. He did everything he could to get everything to us as quickly as possible and the things that we wanted to protect our home. For what we got, the service is worth the money. We like the app and that we can turn the system on and off from the app because the kids are having trouble remembering the code. Also, when their grandmother is here, we just unlock it from work so that she could get out the door without setting the alarm off.

Everything went pretty smooth with ADT. I've had my system for two months and the quality of the system is great. But originally, I got it because the lady I spoke with who sold me on the system said that I could monitor it myself without being charged monthly, and then that turned out to not be the case. Also, the cost is more than what I wanted to pay. But it's not outrageous.

The company we were with got absorbed by ADT and they're doing the Google Home, which is neat and love the modern features. I can set up with the phone. But I didn't do the self setup. A technician was here for five hours on a Saturday night. Four weeks later, when I was at work, the smoke alarm went off five times. The fire department came out. I came in from work, and neighbors had to come over. That night, I spent an hour and a half on the phone with ADT for a technician to come out and they said, "There's something in the back end with your account. We need to elevate it." I said, "Will that take two hours or two days?" "That'll be two days." I said, "I'm going to work tomorrow. I can't have the smoke alarm go off again." So, she worked with me to disarm it.
It turned out she only disarmed it for an hour. An hour later it went off. I called and another technician said, "She only disabled for an hour, not completely." So, he disabled it completely and said, "We can't issue a technician to go out because we need to elevate something to your account. But we'll get back to you in two days." That was three weeks ago. I've heard nothing. I still have a system that is disabled with no functioning smoke detector.
Here's the other weird thing. There are sensors for doors and sensors for windows. The door one says door/window. That one is for doors that open and close and I tried to understand how that works for the windows. So, I read the ADT stuff and that would work for windows that slide open up and down. Like a door would open, the window would open and that would work. And they have a sensor specifically for windows and that is for when you would shatter the glass, the sensor would go off.
This house doesn't have windows that slide up and down. And there's a window right next to the front door. I said, "I want a sensor for that window because somebody could break that, reach around, and open the door." And the window is one glass. There's no open, no close. The guy put this window-door sensor on the glass. He didn't put the one where you shatter the glass, he put the one where the window opens and closes and this is one sheet of glass that never opens and close. So that sensor will never go off when the glass is broken and it's up in the corner and that glass will probably stay intact, which was silly.

ADT came with the best price for what I needed and their sign up process was pretty straightforward. I have their system for about two months now and it has been excellent. I've had to call them when they had a device that would not work appropriately, and when there were some mistakes with the charge information. They resolved both of that pretty efficiently. I also had some pickup issues, but that all got resolved as well.

We've had a lot of houses and a lot of ADT systems, and everyone's always been super nice. I'm currently dealing with trying to move from one home to another, getting a new system installed and trying to get out of a contract with one ADT subset and into another one, but that's been a pain. The existence of independent contractors and separate entities is the downfall because it is confusing when dealing with one versus another. We're canceling one system in South Carolina and we are being told that we're gonna be charged an early termination fee, even though we are currently still with ADT, because our contract isn't identical. One was a 36-month contract and our current one is a 12-month. But we weren't told they had to be identical. I don't wanna pay $1,000 for an early termination fee when I am still using the service. That's been very frustrating.
If one is able to purchase your equipment outright, it is gonna be a better deal every single time. We're doing the ADT+ system right now where we just bought our system, and it's so much cheaper. You own your equipment and don't have to deal with early terminations. We bought our equipment on sale, so that was a fair price. But their full price systems are too expensive. The monitoring service is too expensive as well.

I contacted ADT and asked to install cameras. The guy was very nice and told me somebody was gonna come on a specific day. Then I contacted them again for the purpose of asking if a military discount would be applied but no one was able to answer my call. I was transferred numerous amount of time. Then the employee just showed up at the door and installed the camera. He was here for six hours. I went up to feed my baby and when I came back, I found out he just drilled a hole in my living room without even asking me to put a camera in the back.
When he was about to leave, he asked me to sign some documentation, and I told him that the back camera looked like the battery was low. He said, "It's being charged. Don't worry about it 'cause it's connected to your electricity." It's really high there. I have no way of reaching it. Also, he said that he was gonna give me a sign to the front door. I didn't know that I'm supposed to get it. I saw that on the documentation that I'm signing. He said, "Just sign it. I'm gonna go in my car and give it to you." I signed the documentation then he went to his car and drove away.
Three days after, I got a notification via email that said that my Google account had been canceled. I contacted over 70 employees from ADT, and the only thing that they were able to do was to say, "I'm sorry, ma'am" and transfer me. They were asking me for enormous amount of verification questions like the passcode, my email, my address, and ultimately, just transferred me again and told me that they could not help, including several managers.
I had one manager that said he was gonna give me a case number and he did. They claimed that they canceled my Google account by mistake and they apologized for that. But they opened a ticket and they would re-install it in 24 hours. 24 hours passed. I called back, and they said it would take 72 hours. After two weeks, nothing happened. I asked what was going on and they gave me the ticket. I called back and they said, "They're working on it. We can't give you an estimate how long it's going to take." Then it's, "I don't even know what this number that you've given us is. Such a ticket doesn't exist."
After the fifth day, the camera at the back totally shut. The battery ultimately drained. They told me on the phone that I should install a new battery. Even though I have ladder, I have no way of going that high. It's extremely high. I contacted customer service via chat. They said, "You asked to cancel your account." I was being told not only do I not have a Google account, but I also don't have any service at all with ADT so they could not help me.
I kept getting calls telling me that my internet was not connected to the camera and someone put in my password wrong. I have the best internet that I ever had in my life. I'm the only one in the house and my husband didn't have access to the camera or didn't have time or interest to log in. I ultimately got one employee that said, "I'm sorry, I'm gonna get somebody there tomorrow," which he did. He got me an employee that was very nice, Eddie. He was here for two hours. He told me that it was not the first time that he was coming after the previous employee. He also showed me a picture that the camera at the back was not even connected. The cable was just hanging in the air like that.
He gave me his phone number and said it's gonna work. But the Google account doesn't work. The next day, it didn't save any of the video and the camera at the back stopped working. I contacted him via chat and he was sorry I was going through that. He told me to contact ADT and tell them he was in my area, and that he was available to come over. I didn't have a chance to call, so I tried via chat and my numbers were going from being customer number 13 to number 25 to number 30 and back all the way down to 11. All day you have to watch your phone. Ultimately, you get through somebody and you text but they don't respond via chat. Then I got three different emails asking me to review the customer service that I had.
I ultimately got tired of spending my time talking with ADT 'cause I have a baby with club foot that needs a lot of exercise. I felt terribly sorry that instead of helping him, I was spending time talking on the phone with ADT. I don't have time to continue calling and asking for them to come over and fix my issue. I've spent the most time on the phone or on chat with ADT than any other company in my life.
