    The ADT rep was fabulous. He explained everything in detail and the self setup was really easy. The only issue I have personally is the doorbell camera was a battery one instead of a wired one.     I went with ADT because it was the easiest one to work with. They told me they were gonna send me the self setup camera and all I had to do was screw it in and attach it to where I wanted it, then they would automatically do everything remotely. However, the main camera they sent me is a wired one and I don't have the expertise to wire everything. I haven't been able to even set that up, so for the last two months, I've been paying the service and still with no cameras up.

    When I told the agent I talked to that I wanted to cancel my service, he gave me the ins and outs of the Self Setup service over here for the apartment. Everything's good with this. It's easy. However, ADT can use some better 3M tape on the door sensors. Another thing is I still got charged 68.99 for my house, and I got charged 26 for the apartment. 26 isn't bad, but I don't know why I'm still getting charged for the house.

    I've been an ADT customer for at least 15 years and most everyone that I can think of has been great. We've moved quite a bit and we have multiple rental properties that we've also had service on. When we're trying to move, it's always difficult because the people that we're leaving in that area will contact us, and the people that we're moving to are contacting us as well. It's confusing, but we've always been able to find someone very helpful. When we moved this last time, one person called and asked if they could help us. I called them back asking for help to get the services transitioned and new equipment sent out and I never heard back from him, but then I heard from someone else. Overall, we always get it figured out, but it is sometimes not the smoothest.

    This is the first time that we've done the self-install, and I loved it. It was great. We didn't have to wait around for an install date and we didn't have to drill holes in the wall. It was perfect for the most part. The only thing is our doors are inset from the molding. It was a little difficult on some of the doors to get the sensor lined up with the other sensor, so we had to be creative. Other than that, it was really a great solution. It's cheaper than what we were paying before as well.

    ADT's price has gone up, over the years, a lot, and that was pushing us to want to get a different option, but then they had this option available. Another problem is they've had multiple apps over time. At one time, we had two apps that we were having to keep up for the different systems that we had, but now, it seems like they've gone to one app and it's great. It's very easy.

    The person I was working with told me the ADT self setup was an option that I could do because I didn't get the full system. I just got mainly sensors because I have a Ring camera. The installation instructions were clear and I set it up okay. It's not as intuitive as I thought it would be because it's a different app from the other ADT app, but it worked out fine. However, I moved, and I've been having some issues with the transfer.

    I signed up with ADT but regretted doing it. I'm not getting the coverage that I'm supposed to get. I cannot access any video. Nothing is functioning and nobody is able to help. They told me it can be set up on the front of the door and by the windows, but nothing is working. In the beginning, they told me somebody will be over to install it for me. But everything's gotta be virtual. How am I gonna do virtual while nothing is working?

    I was with a different company and it sounds like ADT bought my account. There was a lot of back and forth about how the transition happened for me going from the previous company to ADT. I had to make multiple phone calls and explain the situation to multiple people. Sometimes, I was hung up on and they would say that they would transfer me, and they would explain so that I wouldn't have to explain again, but then they would call to transfer and I was explaining it all over again. That was very frustrating. Besides that, the self setup is self-explanatory. I was able to do it without contacting customer service.

    I had an issue with the self setup. It sucked. I couldn't get it set up because I have a new construction house. I had to call multiple times to get it set up. The last lady I spoke with did something to correct the issue I was having and it started working after that. Then I don't know why I got billed three times. I bought everything upfront. So, I was on a no- contract and for some reason, last month, they billed me three times. Then I got billed again. They kept saying I would get refunded, but I never did. I had to call my credit card company to get that situated. Customer service is crappy. I haven't had any issue with the system itself. I still have it, but it is what it is.

    I had some concerns with my previous company where sometimes the alarm would go off by mistake but I wouldn't get any notification. My mother had ADT when she lived in Delaware and they did a good job monitoring the system. I switched to them and a gentleman came in and set the system up for me. I neglected to get a motion sensor so I installed one, and it was very easy to set it up.

    The system is excellent. I have the wall mount which I can go to and monitor the system. If anything is not working properly or if a sensor is out of alignment, it shows you immediately. I quickly identify and go correct it. I like the fact that it is very easy to use. I like the phone app as well. I have one on the second floor and one here on the main level where I can activate or deactivate the system. I'm very happy with ADT.

    I had ADT's service for a year or two before switching to the self-install system. When I got the self-install system, they said they were canceling my other account but that never got canceled, so I got calls about having billings due on that old account.     As far as the process of them getting the system sent out to us and set up and shipped, the customer service representative we spoke to was friendly. We called in once when we tried to punch in the code and everything and get it set up and it gave us some error messages. We had a customer service representative who went through the process of trying to get it correct so that we could connect to it. We still haven't gone through the whole setup process. But I would still recommend you. There are always hiccups and we haven't truly gone through the whole process and being set up and used it to know if it is wonderful because we're still not set up to the network.

    I've set up a few different systems at various houses and I had been using Nest for years but they rolled down their online support, so that left me being forced to switch. But I didn't have a good experience with the ADT system at all. It took me about three months to be able to set the system up all the while I was paying for it and I spent about 12 hours on the phone. Their app wasn't working so I couldn't even set up the system. And I was traveling. I run a business in Washington and I live in Cincinnati, Ohio. I was going to Washington with my family for a full month and I ordered this kit and it showed up two weeks before I was supposed to leave. I wasn't able to set it up, despite spending close to eight hours on the phone with them before I left for this trip.

    I talked to so many people to try and solve my problem but and no one could solve it. Everyone was like, “Well, that's actually this other department.” When you're in this Fortune 500 maze, everybody's job, it seems like, is just to just get off the phone with you and transfer you to a different department, because the odds of them being on the phone with you again and having to take accountability for solving the problem are next to none. That resulted in me spending hours and hours on the phone with ADT and getting nowhere and getting to no one that could solve my problem. Also, they would not let me move it to email because that's what I was really pushing for.

    I would have spent more money to get a better system if I could. I can spend more money to get a better system, but I just couldn't find anyone in the market that seems to do a good job. ADT seemed to be the best but the installation and setup processes have left me unimpressed.

However, we don't have door sensors because there weren't any door sensors sent with it for us for the alarm. I don't know how the alarm is even working without door sensors or window sensors.     I had ADT before when I got my last house. I'm still waiting on a reimbursement for after we closed the last account and we moved into the self-setup. I was originally told that we weren't gonna get charged, but we got charged just under $1,800. They said the reimbursement should be coming. But I don't see why it would take three weeks so that's a little frustrating. I just had a few of the products set up since we’re doing some renovations and I'm trying to get that all done right now. I'd recommend ADT to a friend but I will also let them know that we have had some difficulties.

    I've been trying to get in contact with somebody at ADT about my payment arrangements with them. When I first got ADT, they came to the house and hooked it up. I moved here to Montgomery and my friend told me about them not having to come to the house. You call them and then they help you set the system up on the phone. I did that and everything is fine. I had to call in and had them break things down to me. I totally didn't understand about the self-hookup until they told me. They had told me to call in and then somebody helped me out with it. That was a good thing to do. So, I would tell a friend that if she or he didn't understand how to do it, they should get some advice from ADT.

    When I talk to ADT's reps, they're very responsive. I called and told them that I was moving to a new house. I had an appointment for them to come and set up the system, and they did. They're pretty good that way. They gave me the new system that is not really a whole unit. It looks like an overstuffed Alexa and it's very large. And it just sits on the counter. You can arm it by your phone or you can do it online yourself. When you pass your hand over the box, it illuminates and you can say Away or Home, Stay Home, or Go Away. But you see everything on your phone. It’s all Wi-Fi on my phone, so I can look at it and see all the cameras and sensors, and that tells me what's happening. As a matter of fact, it's a bit too sensitive because every time somebody passes outside, the phone warns me about it. I would tell my friends to go and get an ADT system. It's expensive but it's pretty good and I like it.

    I initially went through a contract through SafeStreets in March of this year and I ended up canceling. The contract is in the process of being canceled out, and I got another contract through ADT for two years. I've had them seven months and the online tools are easy to navigate. The reps have also been good about helping me with my issues. Initially, when I was trying to get out of my other contract, I got referred over to ADT and the representative that I talked to helped me to get out of my contract without having to pay over 1,000 dollars, then he got me into another contract that was a little more beneficial for me that wouldn't be breaking the bank. They would send me the equipment and all I had to do was pay the fee for the service, which is about 20 bucks each month. I didn't have to pay for the equipment.

    The ADT representative I talked to said the initial representative who was selling me the equipment could have offered me the plan I currently have. However, that representative was more or less just trying to sell me the contract and get the equipment to me and they were doing some naughty tactics in trying to get sales. It was a contractor through ADT, but it wasn't an ADT person.

    ADT is crappy. They had the cameras on the order but they never installed them 'cause they didn't tell me how to do the payment. So, they took the cameras off and screwed it all up, then they tried to turn around and charge me $700 to put them up. I was not too happy about it.

    The first one we had was Blue by ADT. Had no issues. Absolutely loved it. We recently relocated to Montana and ended up with a different kind of ADT. It's no longer Blue. It's a different one and I am absolutely fumed at them at the moment and have nothing nice to say. The package I ordered was supposed to come with enough door and window sensors for my house, a front doorbell camera, and a couple of other things. It was some deal they had going on. I had it shipped to my old address and it took about a month to get into this address and get everything switched over. I got three door window sensors. My system isn't being used because I have a ton of windows and doors up on the main floor of my house. When I called in to speak to someone about it, I was told that there was nothing I could do. I'm stuck paying for ADT to do absolutely nothing to my house.

    I looked up a couple of different systems online and started getting quotes from different companies. ADT's quote was a bit too high compared to some of the other ones that I saw, but they were able to lower the cost I was initially given. The person was very helpful and helped me get the package that I was looking for and for the price that I was looking for as well. I just wanted to purchase the equipment, install it and monitor it myself. So, I ended up going with ADT. Everything was easy to set up and I'm happy with ADT.     My insurance company, State Farm, offered me this system. I got the stuff and they got sent to my home. After I first set it up, one of the things got wet or there was a temperature change, and the system kept alarming. I had to talk to somebody from ADT because I didn't know how to turn it off. so that first night was a little tricky. Other than that, the people on the support line were amazingly nice. The system kept saying I disarmed it, then I was trying to rearm the system, but I found out that because it's just a water leak-sensing system, I can't re-arm or disarm it. I just turn off the alarm. Once I figured that part out, it was smooth sailing.

    The sales rep made things work towards my situation and gave me a great overview of everything, what the system comes with, the services, and how everything would be set up moving forward. It was a good experience. During the setup, I had a bit of trouble getting the sensors to connect, but after a while, I was able to get it all set up. I figured it out on my own with the help of the tutorial. Besides that, the setup wasn't too bad at all.

    ADT is really affordable and definitely makes me feel like my family is safer and helps me worry less. It's a good investment. The initial payment was understandable due to the equipment, and as far as maintaining the service after that, that payment was really doable and I can take the system to wherever else if I decide to move.

    ADT didn't give me the information that was needed when I called them. They didn't tell me everything that had to be upgraded. I had my previous security with ADT for close to 10 years. I wanted to upgrade it, so they gave me the upgrade. But then there were parts that were missing. I still have to get more glass breaks, which I didn't have before. They didn't tell me I had to upgrade those. One person told me I was gonna have to pay monthly for the Google app. Then another person was able to get it taken care of.

    The install was a nightmare. We had to re install stuff and it took forever. I wasted 5 hours of my life doing that. I was also on the phone with too many people. One time, somebody was supposed to call me at 8:30 in the morning for the appointment. But they never called me and I had to reschedule to later that day, so I wasted my morning waiting for that person. I actually tried quitting. I wanted to return all my stuff but I was two days late from doing it. They finally were able to take care of me. One person told me that to do the self-install, it was gonna take about two weeks to get somebody. But when I bitched enough and I said I was gonna return all my stuff and I didn't wanna be a customer anymore, they were able to give me appointment the next day. One of the ladies that I talked to was really good, but everybody else was terrible. It was one of the worst experiences of my life.

    I hooked the system up but I don't use it. At the last house, my ex-wife wanted me to get a security system hooked up and I did. Somehow, someway, ADT Self Setup conned me into a three-year contract. My wife and I got divorced and moved out of the house, and ADT wanted me to pay $640 to cancel the contract, which is 75% of the balance left on the contract. Instead of doing that, they said I could transfer my system to the new house where I rent and pay 30-something dollars a month. At least I'd have a system, pay less money a month, and it's only a year contract.

    Everything seems to be good right now. I had one episode last week where I just got back from England. It was 1:30 in the morning when I went into the house, the alarm went off. ADT called me but unfortunately, I just traveled for 26 hours and I didn't know the code exactly. So the rep asked me what the name was and the name that I provided was incorrect. I gave her two other names but she said, "Well, I gotta take the first one you give me. I can't take any of the others." I told her that since she couldn't do anything else, just switch the alarm off. I didn't want it going off at two in the morning waking everybody up. But she wouldn't say, so then she just hung up and left. Overall, I'm happy with ADT. Now I know how to use it and switch it on and off without any problems. I'm happy with the quality of the equipment.

    I'm old now and when I was young, there was ADT. I grew up hearing about them. They were the only people who did anything. Arranging the first visit over the phone was very simple. But it got complicated because when the man came, I didn't realize that he wasn't going to start installing the system that day. It was not explained that there would be a sales call. Although the sale had already been made, he still wasn't gonna install it. He didn't say it was wrong. It was just that nobody told me it would be that way. It took him over five hours to do it. I questioned him if it was a new job and he was just uncomfortable. It's complicated with all the connections and he said he wasn't new. So, I just gave him the benefit of the doubt. But it should not have taken that long. There was only one camera and that didn't take but a minute.

    The tech was in such a hurry to leave when he was ready to go. He got in at noon and it was going on 6 o'clock. He was concerned that his dog hadn't eaten and he hadn't gone to the bathroom or had anything to drink himself. So, it was nonstop and when he finally got to plugging the thing into the wall to “Stay” or “Go away”, I didn't get an owner’s manual or instructions on how to use the system, other than the obvious “Stay” in the code or the “Away” in the code.

    There are things about using the system that I still don't know, like what happens when I start to punch the code in and punch the wrong numbers in. And how to stop that from going off and get back to starting to correct again. So, there’s stuff like that that I'm unhappy with. The tech was very nice and stuck to it until he got it done. But I would like to have had more on the other end rather than most of the effort being spent on the installation. I have problems with certain kinds of thought processes and I needed some instructions of some sort on using the system. I don't have a mobile app. I don't like them. I just can't do it so I'm very pleased that I can deal with this and I don't have to use a mobile phone. So, that's a plus for me. The only reason I hadn't done this sooner was because I thought it cost a whole lot more. If I'd known it was this inexpensive, I would have done it years ago.

    I first heard about ADT Self Setup when I called ADT to inquire about their products and it made me interested because it was the only option I had in my rural area. However, the setup was a little bit more involved than described to me originally over the phone. I was told that everything would be delivered with super sticky glue, and then everything would be adhesive. But the cameras required installation with tools and screws. That was a little bit disappointing because I had to get help from other people. But the sign-up was quite simple and quick. Everything works great as well. I also like that I get a notification when someone is in my yard.

    I called ADT to check prices on the system because I don't live in the best of neighborhoods. Me and the salesman built the system that I wanted and he gave me the price, which I was okay with. But I'm on a fixed income and my check didn't come in until two weeks. We set up a package and I was gonna wait until November. Somebody called me and said they were gonna give me a discount, which I could afford at that time. But the package I set up did not come in. I called back and said I was supposed to get an outside camera but I got two motion detectors, which I did not ask for. The rep said he would send a shipping slip and then send out the camera. I’m still waiting on that slip.

    I've got the doorbell camera, which is one that I ordered but I did not receive the other outside camera. I still have the motion detectors and I talked to a guy about setting it up. One of the technicians helped me set up my doors, which wasn't working right and he said that he would check on it that day or the following Monday, and he would send me the package, but he wanted me to pay another $100 for my camera that I was supposed to have gotten already. They would not send the package unless I paid for it. But setting up the ADT system myself was easy and I’m extremely satisfied with the price. I had problems setting it up and getting my camera to the tablet, but the tech who helped me was excellent.

    Setting up the ADT system is a little difficult at times. I'm good with technology, but the directions aren't clear on exactly how to set it up. The main controller itself doesn't tell you directions on how to read it. So, like mine, I was worried it has a greenhouse with a line through it, but doesn't tell me what that means. I had one time when I put them in and they failed and I thought maybe it was because I didn't have the base on it. So, I took the base off, which wasn't good. I finally had to put it back and reset everything. There are no instructions on what to do with the base and how to read it. So, I had it go off with an alarm one time. I didn't know what to do so I unplugged it. But it's got battery backup. So that didn't help. I just started pushing stuff on the control unit and finally, I shut it off and then restarted it all. It took me about an hour to get everything going.

    The system seems to be performing well. It would say things that made me think it wasn’t working but then I checked and it was working right. The system just needs better directions. They aren't the best but it'll work. You just have to know the tricks, which I learned from trial and error. ADT just needs to explain more what the different codes mean when you get them and what it doesn't mean.

    The system came with five sensors for water leakage. And I put out four of the five. I still have to figure out where to put the last one. It works fine for that. Other than that, I don't do much with it. I just set that up in case there's a water leak because the directions don't tell you much other than that. I like that I've got one under each sink, one by the washing machine in the basement where I get water and one other spot where water comes in from outside occasionally. It’ll let me know when there's water there so I can figure out where it's coming in. I feel secure now that it lets me know if it gets water on it, which is what I worry about because I've been here for 25 years and I've had water in my basement three times from outside. Our hot tub blew the drain off at one time and water filled my basement. If I had this, I would have known right away and got it taken care of.

    ADT Self Setup sucks. From day one, they were horrible. There's dishonesty and not full disclosure because they can't make the sale. This company is the most deceitful company I have dealt with in my whole life. They condone lying and deceiving their consumers. They condone their salespeople lying to people. This company condones it because it's not just one or two people. It's continually person after person. Lie after lie after lie. They are a disgrace for a company. When I call them, they would seem like they do something for me to appease me and I would find out they only screwed me over again. I have a six-page letter I will put on the Better Business Bureau as well as send to the CEO of the company. Not that he cares because the fish stinks from the head down. So, he must condone it as well.

    My husband and I moved into an apartment. We're senior citizens. We had a psychopath stalking us. I needed an alarm system. I called a few and ADT said, "We'll send someone over." He came into my apartment, looked us in the eye and lied from the beginning. He said we would have to have a two-year contract and it would be $59 flat every month. "You're gonna get all the works for your alarm. You're gonna get a panic button for the call. You're gonna get a 24/7 monitoring on a camera that we'll install. Okay?" Come to find out when we got the alarm system, it was a three-year contract.

    When I told the rep I was thinking about going to Slomin's, he looked at me in the face and said, "You don't wanna go to them. You're locked into a three-year contract. We're only a two-year contract." When the guy came to install the alarm, he had me sign another contract, which raised my thing to 69.99 without me knowing. I said, "Why is my bill 69? It's supposed to be 53 something." I have all the numbers at home. He said, "Oh, no, you signed a new contract now?" "New contract. What do you mean?" The camera is a regular Google Nest camera that I could have went to the store and bought. There was no 24/7 monitoring. That is what I wanted. In case my husband would be attacked on the outside, I wanted it to be. I found out it only records for three hours because I would have to sign up for a plan with more money. Never told anything. No full disclosure with this company.

    I said to the tech, "I'm in this place. What if I have to move from here?" He said, "I wish you would move every three months because I still get paid if you move. We just take this system and we move it to your next system." Not so, because I had to move because of the psychopath. When I called to move, they said, "We need to send out a new salesperson to make a new contract." I said, "I'm not signing a new contract with you. You suck. I don't even want you now. Not to mention, I'm paying so much more money than I'm supposed to. We're on a budgeted living. We're senior citizens. You people are predators of elderly people. I don't know if you're doing it to other people."

    I moved to the other place. The rep said, "I'll give you a two-year contract with this alarm and you'll get all the services you have at this address over at the new address." They sent a self-service thing. It took me four weeks to get it installed because there were problems after problems. I found out I have a basic service. No glass break on it. They promised me equipment that I never got like those key fob, panic buttons from the car. When I called, they said, "That's not part of your contract." "But they've told me I would get them." "You have to pay more." Everything that he said to me that I said I was supposed to get, I would have to pay more.I'm supposed to have 24/7 live monitoring. When the alarm went off, I got a recording, "This is ADT. Your alarm is going off." What good is a recording to me? The point was to have somebody call me and say, "Is everything okay?"

    This system disconnects from my Wi-Fi. 24/7, I get notices, phone calls, texts, "Your ADT is disconnected." It's not disconnected. The Wi-Fi is running. I work from home. 24/7 my Wi-Fi is up. I have the top-of-the-line Wi-Fi. Nobody does anything. Nobody cares. I pay a little bit less money for a subpar system that they told me would be just as good as the other system at my other address. I didn't have service for four weeks in my new apartment and ADT wanted me to pay for it. I will not pay for services that I did not receive. It was not to my own fault that the system was not connected. My husband and I got locked in our own apartment several times because we couldn't shut the base off. The base would not accept the codes.

    I've only had ADT Self Setup a short time. I was told that with glass breakage, if a glass broke, I would know about it or the alarm would go off, and this may not have anything to do with anything but on Sunday, I broke a plate, and it was a very loud sound. I was within 3 feet of the window where the alarm is. The plate shattered, made a lot of racket, and my sister in the back bedroom heard it. The alarm didn't do anything. I didn't call ADT. I kept thinking they would call me to find out what was going on. And then there was nothing.

    Then Sunday night, this is a different instance, but Sunday night, I used my key fob to set the alarm, probably about 10:00. And I forgot it. I went to let my dog out at about 11:30. And when I opened the door, the alarm went off. That was the first time it went off. I had not been told what to do to turn it off but I went to the canister and put in my code, and it went off. Other than getting an email the next day or sometime, I noticed the next day I had an email saying my alarm went off. But again, I got no call from anyone. Now, I don't know if that's right or wrong.

    Initially, the experience with ADT was really good. The woman was understanding and we talked about this really basic package. It was all I needed. That went really well. For the most part, the people on the phone were polite. Things seemed smooth. In the end, I sort of got scammed by the guy who installed our equipment, and I can't get out of it. The equipment they installed all looks the same, but they do different things and they're priced differently. When he came in, I got basic smoke alarms, which I thought it was, and he was very clever about it. He put them in, and then he had technical problems with his iPad, but I had to sign that it was good, and he quoted me the price the lady did over the phone. What he actually installed were the most expensive pieces of equipment. I ended up being stuck with them. I own them. According to ADT, I can't return them and I have to pay for them.

    I would tell others to look for a smaller company. I think they're way too big. When I went into customer service, I was on the phone with them for five hours. They transferred me to 10 different people. Each of them in their own right was very polite. They didn't have an answer for me, so they kept transferring me. The lady on the end was not polite at all, and she ended up hanging up on me. The bottom line is you get lost in the weeds of a big company. They give their three-day turnaround to dispute anything. Then it gets lost in the weeds when trying to get through customer service. You get a phone call. Three days go by fast, and you are stuck with the equipment. So if you look at it from a legal standpoint, on paper, I don't really have a dispute. The guy who came to install said he left me with equipment that I don't have, so I got some money taken off my bill, but it came in three times more than the quoted amount. I'm very dissatisfied.

    We had a security system with Xfinity but they're a cable company, not a security company. It made more sense to go to ADT. We like their service and price. I got a better than most deals. It was the hookup and I was very happy with that. However, dealing with customer service was a little bit of a struggle at first. The last girl I spoke to was amazing but the three that took me to get to her were not. Other than that, I would recommend ADT. We have an ADT system at my office as well.

    I don't live in the best neighborhood in the world, so I figured it would probably be a good investment to have a security system. The initial ADT person I talked to about purchasing the system was very kind and personable. It was overall a very pleasant experience. The house is still in a remodeling phase so I'm not there as much as I'd like to be with the system. But it's nice getting those notifications when it detects something or people walking up, and that's been very helpful.

    I have full confidence in the system. It’s very user friendly. A lot of my family is not super techy, so it's very nice to have something that is easy to set up. I didn't have to have anybody come out and set it up. I didn't even use the online stuff. I know I could have a tech come out, which would be very helpful for some people, but I was able to easily manage that on my own.     I called ADT to have my services transferred, and the rep suggested the Self Setup. I don't like it though. I'm used to a keypad that I put on my wall, my entry and my exit and not something that's centrally located. And then I constantly get offline. I understand we had the hurricane and things could have happened, but I do not like the setup. I want the old school. They could give me a panel. They could give me something that I can program and something I can deal with. I don't like these little buttons. My wife doesn't like it at all.

    The setup process was simple. I used to do installation and service. So, that part was easy. Feature-wise, I don't like it. I don't like the number pad. You gotta press the "Arm" and "Disarm". There's nothing interactive about this unit. I liked my unit interactive. I don't want to rely going online to do some changes. I wanna be able to go right to the panel and do what I need to do. I wanna add a keypad. I wanna add a door lock. I wanna be able to do things on the panel because that's what I'm used to and that's what my wife's used to.

    My wife cannot use the panel. So, I have to "Arm" and "Disarm" it by my phone. Whereas when we were leaving, she used to just hit the button. Now, she has to log in. It’s just too much. But one thing this thing is good for is if you got an apartment because it's not intrusive. You just put a couple sensor up. But for a house our size and what we need, it’s not working for us.

    We moved from Texas to Georgia, and I was explaining to the ADT rep that we had some type of credit because that's what they told me. Once I pay my bill off, we got a moving credit. I kept trying to explain to the young lady saying, “I want what I had back home.” But she said, “No. This is better for you because you can take it with you.” She said it because we don't own the house. But I've already got approval from the homeowner to do whatever I wanna do. He was like, “Man, you put your cameras up.” We had five cameras at our last home and three door locks. We had the Google door. We had all the Google products. We had the Nest. We had the Nest thermostat.

    The ADT rep wouldn't offer me anything. She was like, “Well, you can buy all that stuff again.” If that's the case, I could have grabbed everything at the last house and brought with me, but that was not what ADT told me. So, now they got me in a new area. Now, I don't feel secure in my home, because in my last home, I had a hardwired system. All my windows and doors were secure. Now, I got three doors and a motion. That's not secure. We travel a lot. So, right now, we don't feel like our house is secured. Also, we're over 12 hours away from my home and then I get these alerts that it's not communicating at all. I probably got the alerts about five times this month. There was something offline.

    I do want the regular system. I don't want this thing that somebody can come in and unplug or move. I want it hardwire. I want something that I'm used to. We bought doorbell cameras. I signed up for two. They only sent me one, but I didn't feel like fussing with them. And then I ordered two door locks. I didn't get those either. When I called back, they said, “Well, she had to redo your quote, and it wasn't included.     I had Blue by ADT and when I had called to cancel it, the girl talked me into keeping it so I ended up getting the ADT+ system. They didn't change my cost. I've been paying $29 for the last six years which I don't have a problem with. I like that if I accidentally set the alarm off, but then I stop it, I still get a phone call. It's a recording that says that the alarm went on, but I deactivated it and it was just a courtesy. If it had been a real emergency, such and such would have contacted me. Blue didn't have this.

    The ADT+ system has the big piece and the little piece of the sensor. The little piece had a little riser in it. It would make it elevate and I couldn't get them to line up because the way the molding is on my door, it makes my door sit in more and the molding sticks out. You got that piece that's on the molding and the piece that you try to put on the door. I had to build it up in order for them to meet.

    The ADT Self Setup system came free through my State Farm Insurance, and setting it up was relatively quick and easy. It was no more than 15 minutes. You just place the devices and connect to your internet. I didn't have to call anybody to help me. I just read the directions over and did right what it said. One device was placed under our laundry sink. I was washing my hair and splashed water all over the place and it went off. It startled us 'cause we weren't used to having it there. When ADT called me, I had forgotten how to shut it off then I remembered. We went, put the code in and it stopped it. They work really well. The slightest bit of water would set it right off, which is good because you don't want a water leak. The rep was also friendly and helpful. She explained to me what was going on, that the alarm had gone off and had been triggered.

    I've told others if they could take advantage of the ADT offer, then they should. The only thing that deters me is the monthly cost for monitoring. I thought that they had offered me a year free service. But they couldn't find it in their system, which didn't upset me because they already have given me the water thing which is beneficial. They had sent me another offer for a free Google camera system. The lowest they could go for the monthly monitoring was $29.99 which is a little bit much for my budget. If it was around 20, I would try to squeeze it out.

I have curved door frames. I couldn't lay the sensors on them because they're flat. I have to get the special kind of spacers. I didn't know that I would need them.     The first time I called ADT, I didn't get the system ‘cause they told me that I had to give at least $300 down. Then they called me and the rep helped me to find a better way to not pay a lot. I only had to pay $10 to be able to get the stuff the same day. I was grateful for his help. Setting the system up was easy. The problem I had was with my internet. At first, I didn't know if it was the internet or the cameras that didn't wanna work. I also didn't know that the doorbell ringer, to be able to hear inside the house, you have to have a little connector for it. I have to order that since I don't have that.

    I've been an ADT customer for a while. I recently moved and had to move over my service. They told me it was gonna be 600 and something dollars for someone to come set up the sensors. But I already had a bad experience with someone coming to my home and doing the initial setup when I got ADT. They stole my password and were making changes to my account after they left my property all because I reported that they were charging me 50 something dollars for a Google Nest that was never installed and left in my home.

    The self setup product is easy to install. It's peeling stickers and pairing them with the app. We have no issues on the actual product but on the service and the billing, it's been terrible. I'm on my fifth call of 45 minutes plus each call to try to get a billing issue resolved. I keep getting bills for $444 and now of $282 for my old property when that service is supposed to be canceled and transferred over to this address. The representative that upgraded me to the ADT+ wireless system said I would not be charged anything because I was continuing my service here. But ever since, I've been getting multiple bills on paper, emails with the bill, and today, text messages with the bill. I feel harassed for something that I'm not supposed to pay for because that was what the representative said.

    The ADT rep seemed pretty cool. The problem was I was relocating because I had sold my property. When I moved to this property that I'm at now, he said, “You could save yourself some time and some money if you do a self-install versus having a tech come by and install service.” I was okay with that and he said, “A lot of the customers accidentally prefer that versus that.” But to me, it's been such a freaking headache.

    The setup in itself was okay. It's just the service and everything else. I've been trying to get my money back from my old property because I overpaid. I had to chase them and they just sent me to nine different groups. It was all going back to the same different people. No one seemed to know what was going on. When I said that I was gonna file a complaint, they said, “Well, we'll just give you a credit and just be done with it.” But something was wrong with this picture.

    We had ADT at an original account. We moved and ADT decided we didn't set up the new system fast enough, so they cancelled our account, and charged us 800 dollars. They never said anything about it. So we called them back and they said, “Hey, by the way, when you agreed to move and keep us, you signed a whole new contract.” They never informed us of that either. So we now have a new contract with them. In the process of all of that, I said, “Okay fine. Whatever. We have the new contract. It is what it is. I'm gonna have to pay the money anyways. Might as well just use the account.”

    I have called on four separate occasions to have my address updated. But it's still not been updated. When I log in, it says that my email address doesn't exist. When I call ADT, they tell me they cannot find me in the system. Then they have to send me to a supervisor. The supervisors are the only ones who can find me in the system. I was told two weeks ago that because we continued on with the contract that they wrongfully pulled the money from us, so they were going to refund us the money but I've still not been refunded the money. They told me that couldn't refund the money because they couldn't find my account. I have been on the phone with ADT three separate times today, and every single time, they've hung up on me. I don't recommend them to anybody at this point.

    I saw ADT for the first time in a commercial about eight months ago and then, I went online a few weeks ago and liked not only the reviews but also the price of the system that I wanted. This is the first time I've ever hooked up a security system and wanted something I could record on my iPad. The gentleman I talked to said it was easy. All I gotta do is follow the directions. I followed directions before and it was a pain. But I was amazed. It was simple so it’s a nice system. Everything came in a box and was laid out for me. I just started with page one and went to each device. I had the system set up in 30 minutes tops and had everything recorded on my iPad. It took me longer to mount the camera itself than when I put it online. I'm 62 years old and don't know that much about computers but the system is dummy-proof. So, anybody can set it up.

    We live in the mountains and there are a lot of trees so about once every couple of weeks, we lose Wi-Fi for maybe 20 minutes, sometimes just a couple of seconds. The cameras still could go offline but a few minutes later, they're right back up. So, I have no worries. It's not the system. It’s the Wi-Fi. So, I'd highly recommend ADT to anybody and I have, several times. My sense of security is a lot better than what it was before I got my system. We live out in the country on the bottom part of a mountain and maybe two miles away, there are always people getting their lawnmowers stolen. I put the sign out and put my cameras outside and we feel 100% secure now with the system up and running.

    The ADT Self Setup system sucks. My doorbell is not up for my camera that goes on the garage to look at the patio door. I've been waiting on somebody to call me and help me set it up in the mornings but nobody's called. If I'm paying money for some help but I can't get the help, then what's the use of me paying money? They talk about it being easy to set up, but that's a lie. If I want them to come back out to the house and do it, they wanna charge me $1000. I wouldn't have had it installed if I'd known it was gonna be $1000.

    It takes anywhere between 15 to 20 minutes before somebody comes on the line. Then when they come on the line and talk to you, they send you to the wrong place. You gotta start all over and wait on somebody else from that department. By the time they connect you to the right one, you've been on the hour already. Also, they messed up my order when I ordered. I was supposed to have gotten a free camera but the free camera ain't here yet. That's because they told me I gotta email something back in.

    I was moving and didn't have a current address at the time. The rep asked me to try the ADT Self Setup system out so I wouldn't have to pay $1,100. I tried it out but hated it. It was not a good service at all. It sent text messages and called all day and all night long, stating that it was not connecting. It really wasn't protecting my home. It didn't notify me when the doors were opened and closed. It wasn't doing what I was used to. It was just taking up space sitting here so I unplugged the system and stopped using it. I went back to the regular control panel.

    I am being charged for two systems but I only have one system in my home. Even now, they keep trying to charge me for the self setup system but I've been asking them to send their return label. I had to call twice to get one. But I like ADT's services and that's the only reason I went back with them. I didn't wanna change, but the self setup system was not cutting it so I went back to the other ADT system. Other than that, I would recommend ADT to others. I recommended them to my sister and she got their service.

    The ADT Self Setup system was easy to set up until I got to the point where I couldn't get the motion sensors to work on the windows and the door. I called and the rep was telling me I had to go in there and set them up one by one on my own. I didn't know I had to individually set them up but she walked me through it and it went straight through. She stayed on the phone till I got everything connected and made sure it worked. The system does us good, and I've told my nephew to call ADT as well. The system is self-explanatory. They give you a little paper on the thing that's on the base and you just punch the numbers in.     I don't recommend ADT Self Setup for anyone. It was very easy to install. It's a great service if you need it. But for my case, I have one door to my apartment. I tried to cancel my services because I didn't need it, and I got transferred eight times to talk to different people about canceling, which was annoying. I got told that if I wanted to cancel my services, it would have cost $1,100. I thought it was a monthly pay-so-much-a-month, and if I was done with my services, I was done. I have to wait 30 days, and I could call back to try to cancel it.

    Delivery services was not that great. Instead of me paying however much it was to cancel my services, they said if I rehomed the device, it would waive that contract fee. I said, “Okay, great!” I had to have it delivered. It said it was delivered, but it wasn't. ADT said they would send another one to my buddy's house. Two days later, I had an ADT box at my door, and three weeks later, I had another ADT box delivered to my buddy's house. I had, at one point, two ADT packages, and was able to send back the other one. But I will cancel all my services at the end of this month because that is my 30-day period.

    When I started, good service. I could call and ADT would walk me through. If I was locked out of something or had a situation, great service. When I had the original setup with ADT, that was when I required more of ADT's assistance. But with the current one, I didn't require that much assistance because there wasn't much to do. I don't have a camera. It's just one little box, and that was it. I just put up sensors and plugged up the little box thing, and it was done. I can't put the door sensors up until I get some two-sided tape because the sticking part of it is on the back of those sensors, and my door can only allow it to be sideways, not up or bottom.

    ADT should have called me during the time that it was being done. This is way down the line. But if I spoke to anyone, there were no problems. The new system is going well, but I'm disappointed that I don't have a camera. I was told it didn't come with the camera. I had to go out and buy one. I had to get it from Amazon, and it's a Google camera. Given that I have a camera with Google, it looks a bit better because I can see in my house. I live in a studio, so I can see whatever goes on in this hallway of space. But just knowing that I have a camera that I can look at while I'm away makes me feel better. With what is going on with what I have from ADT, if I could get it back, I would.

    I'm trying to get ADT in order here because I had an issue. I reached one of the representatives, who in turn reported my call to someone in the accounting department. That person who I was on the phone with put me on hold several times. It sounded like she was in a hurry, and as I looked at the clock, it was so close to five o'clock, and the young lady sounded like she was ready to leave. The next thing I knew, I was filtered back into the system. The last young lady who helped me was a blessing because she got me through everything, and fixed the situation that I had. I'm thankful for her because she put me back in that cycle. I give the second young lady top quality.

    My parents handed everything over to me because I'm the electronic whiz in the house. The instruction they gave was very limited. I had to go on to YouTube, find people who did it to find out how to do it properly. What we had to have. ADT Self Setup didn't give any instruction. They gave the same, “Scan and then you'll get instructions that way.” I was not happy because they told my mom she would only have to have one app. I did it, and having to download their apps plus a Google Home app to get for it to up right. The instructions just said, “Go here and then do this.” I got into the second. They didn't give instructions. I had to figure it out. When my mom asked about it, they said I would only have to put in the ADT app, and that way, it would operate, nothing else. It would be better if they told people up front that they have to deal with two different apps, not one.

    My State Farm agent knew that I was going to Africa for a couple of weeks, and knew I had the ADT cameras. There was this program set up between State Farm and ADT and he sent me the letter, I called ADT, and they sent me the package. It had a base and five sensors. They had to guide me on the phone how to do everything. I had the ADT Plus app on my phone. I was able to figure that out. There is a base that I plugged in, and you go through a procedure on your phone on that ADT Plus app. You connect each sensor.

    The guy stayed on the phone as we went through the whole thing. We finished each sensor. I named the sensors, like main bathroom, basement bath, or laundry room. I named the central, and went through a procedure to connect it to the base. Once I did the first one, the rest were easy. They have batteries in them. I can look on my phone and see each camera, and if it takes a picture, I can go in and see the picture that was taken. I've been very pleased. I'm thrilled that the whole system was free.

    I've had cameras for several years, but ADT improved them. They improved how well they work like the amount of pictures I could get per month. I've had technicians come out a couple of times to set them up, and a couple of times after that. They improved their system so much that they could handle a lot of problems with your cameras if I got any remotely.

    The rep was good. He worked six hours doing all the installation, and the system worked great for a couple of days. When we ordered our ADT stuff and the guy came out and set it up, it was supposedly all brand new stuff he was taking out of the boxes. But the next day or so, the batteries were going dead on some of the stuff. We had to order some batteries to replace some of them. If it's new, how in the world are the batteries dead? That didn't make any sense to me. Then we had a camera issue. My wife called ADT and one of the ladies walked through with her. She reset the camera three times, deleted it, and reinstalled it. Then she had to check and make sure our Wi-Fi was good and reconnected the Wi-Fi three times. They worked together over the phone for about an hour, but it resolved nothing. That was a little bit disappointing.

    The rep was nice but as far as resolution, it didn't accomplish anything. We called back the next day and set up an appointment. I told the rep what went on and that we needed someone. The guy tried to tell us initially that it was gonna cost us $100 for somebody to come out. I told him the system is brand new and it hasn't worked not even a week yet. He then checked, apologized, and told us we got a 90-day coverage to where if we got any issues, they'd come out for free and resolve our issues.

    There are reasons for concern with ADT's customer service people and I was intending on cancelling but I got a text the next day saying to confirm if I wanted to keep the appointment. A gentleman by the name of Michael came out this past Wednesday and spent an hour or so. He was great. He gave me his cellphone number and told me if I got any issues in the future, to call him and we'll go working through anything that he can troubleshoot with me over the phone, or I can call and get an appointment set up with him to come out. He was very cordial and easy to work with. Through that process, we decided to keep ADT.

    My wife feels a great sense of security with ADT. The alarms that would go off, the cameras, being able to talk to somebody at the front door, and the smoke detector and the carbon monoxide features are things that a lot of folks don't have in their homes that are very needed. We both love to have the key fob set up where we can push it on demand and get set up whatever we wanna do. It has nothing to do with security, but we love to have the feature through the boxes that we can play music through. Another feature that I love is having the stickers on the windows and the door and having the sign in the yard. If we cancelled the service today and kept those stickers out, that'd be a big deterrent in and of itself.

    I've had a good experience with ADT. The sales rep informed us about everything. There were two different setups. In the original setup, someone else came out and did it. However, he did go against what we asked. We asked for the system not to be put into the wall because we weren't looking to live in that house the entire time. He still put it on the wall. But then I've moved since and I set up my own since I could not take it out of the wall. For this last one, I set it up by myself and it was super easy. Setting it up was really easy. Interacting with all of the interfaces is super simple as well. Just talking over the phone has been easy whenever I had to get my new system set up. It's all working well. The previous one was a touchpad one. The one that I have now is with the Google Nest and it's a little cylinder in the base. I like that they respond pretty quickly if it goes off.

When I got my services transferred into the new house I live in, the rep walked me through a lot of things and helped me understand the process. It was helpful that I talked to that type of person. They told me that I could self set up my alarm, and that was what I did. But there were some parts of the installation that weren't easy. With the sensors, I kept messing up.     Before I moved, the ADT system was already at the house I had moved to and I just called and got it set up. Then, when I moved to my new location, I had to keep it and they sent a self-service system. But I can't use it because I don't have WiFi. So, it's been a big ordeal. I live in a rural area and they don't offer services. They only provide five megabytes but ADT is pulling one and it's $125 a month for it. I'm not doing that.

    I had two accounts I was paying for and ADT sent me the self-install equipment when I told them I wasn't gonna have internet. I've been dealing with it for months and the rep was able to close out the old account because I had the self-install system. She was able to get me a refund on my other account that I was paying for that I wasn't using and she even called back to check and see if I'd gotten it. She was wonderful. The lady and a couple of other ones I spoke with cared a lot and were trying to resolve the problem. They got everything fixed for me by talking with me and they were apologizing that all this stuff was going on with the account. The communication was good.

    I had to call one of the representatives of ADT a couple of times. One thing was I had a question about the light on the base. It went from green to yellow or orange. Typically, that means there's an issue. But I was told that it would correct itself. I also have a control unit upstairs in the bedroom and both of them, the main one that came with the system and the one that I had to purchase separately, do not have a very good response. When you're trying to disarm and arm, it takes several tries.

    When I was getting signed up for ADT, I told the guy that I wasn't ready to put the system up yet 'cause I have to paint the house. I'm also doing a lot of refurbishing in the house. I should have held off on getting ADT. Time has gotten by and they're charging me now for the monitoring. I hooked up the box thing and put it in a certain location, but I haven't hooked up anything else and it looks like it might be a while. I hope I end up liking it after I get it hooked up though. Another thing is the Yale door lock thing doesn't go with my door, and I hope that they have a brushed nickel finish.

    ADT's products are fine, but they're not the products. It's the service and it has been absolutely terrible almost the entire time minus the first interaction. It has been pulling my hair out. They sent me to collections for something they said was cleared and fixed, which was their mistake in the first place. Their customer service has been some of the worst I have ever dealt with. They're constantly sending me around, never solving the problems, and telling me stuff are gonna be done when they're not gonna be done. They caused even more issues with me when I told them I was at a 72-hour shift at the fire department and then shafted me even further with that. It's been an absolute nightmare with them. I would not recommend them to anybody.

    The people that I spoke to on the phone, except for one occasion, were very nice. But one thing that would have been more helpful was if they would have asked if I had a split band system. I went multiple weeks without having my camera at all because my internet was not compatible with it. One night, it took almost three hours of trying to reboot the cameras to get it going. That wasn't something that they thought was an issue until the last person that I spoke to said perhaps I might need to have a split band system. She did a great job.     My experience with ADT has been crap. I was told the system was very easy to install and it would take an hour or two. I paid a professional to do it, and he came in at 9 o'clock in the morning then left at 3:00. I couldn't afford any more than six hours and he never finished. There weren't stuff to hardwire the stuff into the cameras.

    I get phone calls from ADT saying, "Hey, by the way, I can't reach your system." I don't know how to hook it up. The doorbell cam doesn't work. It rings, but it doesn't show us who's at the door. I wanted the system set up to the garage door opener, which does not do that. A lot of the stuff that I thought we could do, we can’t. I am very dissatisfied, and my husband really wants to cancel the service.

    The sales rep was nice. But the setup which I did myself was a pain. I downloaded the other app for the doorbell cam. It works. I also did the Nest cam, and it works as well. But it's all a big mess. ADT needs to make it easier and offer free installations to make it better. If I could go over and do it again, I would just go through another company and buy the doorbell camera and the Nest cam, and just download that home app on my phone.

    Though I didn't know what the options were, I like what we got. However, I didn't realize we had to set up the new ADT Self Setup system when we moved, and instead of the money stopping from one account and getting transferred to the other, I was getting charged on both sides of the house. ADT took 870 something dollars, and it took almost a month to get the money back. They finally terminated the other account and that was when they took the 870 something dollars. But part of it was my fault. I didn't get the system hooked up because I didn't realize that was what had to be done. I was so confused with all the phone calls between ADT Plus and Pro.

    They told me it'd be 10 days, but I waited 2 weeks. I called back and went through the thing again. I got someone that walked me through the setup and it finally worked out, but it was weird that I couldn't just call one number, whether it's Plus or Pro, and be able to work the situation out. They would tell me it was a Plus equipment and I’d get transferred. Then they would say it's a pro account and I’d get transferred. I had some good reps that worked with me, and I had some that just wanted to transfer. There were a lot of back and forth transfers. ADT could either make it two separate companies or just have a central hub that could facilitate both.

    The ADT fixed alarm company doesn't talk to the ADT Plus alarm company. When you sign an account, you're supposed to maintain an account for 36 months. When you're “switching products”, you're doing the “right thing” and both you and the salesperson are saying it's gonna work. You're being assured that nothing's gonna stop. But you end up getting a bill for terminating services prematurely, and ADT charges you for termination of services for over $1,000. Then you spend a month chasing down ADT to replace your money because they don't do it on their own. The excuse of ADT is technically, they're two different companies.

    We've had ADT a few weeks and the representatives are very helpful but the system is very difficult. Some of the pieces for the self install system aren't quite the way they're advertised. The remote keypads are supposed to be wireless, but I have to plug them into an outlet which doesn't make them wireless. We sent a few of them back, and even wired, we had problems with them. It's a bit of misguided information, but all in all, the system seems to be good so far.

    I had a pro install at one point, then I moved into somewhere that didn't need that extensive a system, so I just went with the self setup. I spoke to somebody to transfer my account from a pro account to a self setup account, and for the most part, it was good. We had one hiccup where they charged me about 600 dollars for early termination, and they weren't supposed to. I still don't have that money back. They said it was either gonna be mailed to me or posted to my account, but as of today, I haven't seen it. It is on my to-do list to call them this week going, "Hey, what's the status of this?" Other than the issue with the refund, everything's been smooth. ADT is really good and the price is reasonable.

    I did a little research online and thought that the reviews were good. A new salesman with ADT out of the Kansas City area got in contact with me, but first, I called the local ADT office down in Chanute, Kansas. It's just south of here, and they were not as cooperative and nice, then I got ahold of the young salesman. This kid did a really good job, and that's the reason I bought the system. I didn't buy from ADT. I bought from this kid.

    If it hadn't been for the young salesman's demeanor, how hard he worked and the way he conducted himself and drove all the hell the way down here, I would have done business with somebody else because I'm sure there are other companies as good as ADT. I told the kid afterwards it's goofy that he's got a sales job’s commission only where they send him out, driving 100 miles, to make a possible $600 sale. I was in sales for 43 years, so I'm touchy about salespeople being taken advantage of. Other than that, ADT's hardware is good, and the price is very competitive.

    ADT Self Setup is good for people who know how to do these things and are tech savvy, and they got all that stuff together already. Also, ADT needs to tell people what internet speed they need. They need to express that when people get these products and what they need to have first. We were trying to set this camera up. Everything runs except for my doorbell camera. It didn't connect. Everything else is connected. Even the sensors downstairs are connected. This is upstairs, by the internet stuff. Why are they not connecting? The internet company I'm using said it would work but it's not working. Even sometimes with the ADT, it would go out.

    The last person I talked to was okay. But before, I tried to see if I could get somebody to help me install it but ADT couldn't do that. I'm trying to wait to get stuff switched over. I could try a different internet company and see if that would work. But it's a lot. It wasn't helpful the first couple of times. If you do it, make sure you got some strong internet. I wish I did the other one because I needed somebody in here to install it properly.

    I had an ADT DIY kit previously at my apartment. We were getting ready to move to a house. I just figured I would upgrade with ADT Self Setup. I remember getting an email saying that the upgrade could be free. I went digging for it and that was the case. I only ended up paying $50 for a couple of more sensors. I'm a techie. I like technology, so that stuff is easy for me. I intuitively can just pick up something and get it to work. So, when the kit came, I opened it, looked at all the pieces, and it was very familiar from the first one I set up. I went around and set them up. I didn't read the instructions.

    When I went to put up the window sensors, I put them all up at one time and went to connect them to my base, which was an extra step I had to go back and look up, "How do I reset them after I put them up?" But I was able to self-service that by looking at ADT's website. I was able to reset the sensors one by one and reconnect them individually. The mistake I had made was putting them up without connecting them first. But it was easy.

    On the app, it asked me to scan the QR code on my home base. I got a QR code that went with ADT's kit, and the one on the kit like the paper one did not work. I had to take the bottom off of my home base and scan that. That was the only thing was the QR code that came, that I would think would work did not work. I had to look at, "How do I get a different QR code?" That was the only thing that took a few minutes to figure out. But it was quick.

    I had to call ADT to have them update my address. I had an older system with the Blue partnership. I got the new system, which is partnered with Google. There was some backend update that they had to do to my information that I wasn't able to do myself. I spoke with a lady and she was very nice. She helped me through everything. She put a ticket in for me and it was resolved within a day. She was personable on the phone as well, which was great customer service.

    We have a motion sensor. I ended up putting it in our detached garage. The battery on that thing died within a couple of weeks. I thought that if I got a new system, the batteries wouldn't die within a couple of weeks. But the sense of security is great. I love that ADT gave four stickers and the yard sign. I put all of them upI was able to put a couple of the stickers up because we have an apartment building that's behind it. It made me feel a bit better.

    I have my own additional security system on the property. I needed ADT Self Setup because they are a monitored service. The insurance company wouldn't accept that I monitored the property myself. I have my own separate system with cameras and sensors that is local only. I was required to buy a monitoring service and that's why I chose ADT. I spent a total of 10 hours on the phone trying to get the alarm certificate over the past two and a half weeks. I spent over four hours on the phone in one session where I kept getting transferred to a different division, because I'm using their new ADT+ system.

    More than half of their service reps that I called in couldn't access my account. I went in a circle where I talked to the same department four times in the space of three hours because they kept on forwarding me to that same department again, and they couldn't solve the problem. I am very dissatisfied. There were several things that needed to get fixed. First was my shipping address was not the service address. That took two hours to fix. Getting my system up and online took another few hours. Once that was fixed, and I finally was able to get the alarm certificate.

    ADT offers service technicians that come to your house so we went with them. It was excellent with the sales rep and the equipment is good quality. But the salesman for our our vacation home didn't really tell us about those cameras and that the batteries need recharging every month and a half. So the two doors are unprotected and the doorbells are out of juice right now and we're not there to power them up.

    My interactions with ADT were horrible. They still owe me money that they haven't refunded and they think that they can just keep offering me stuff. I moved from another place and it was just a whole mess with the self-setup because they didn't close the old account. They went in there and took money out of my account and it took me almost a month to get my money back. The last representative I talked to cleared the balance but the experience I had was horrible. I was dealing with that for like three months.

    The only reason I have ADT is they told me I have to keep the service so I don't have to pay the cancellation fee. But if it was for me, I would cancel my services and I would never offer ADT to anyone else. I'm still waiting on money that they owe me. I overpaid on my old account and they refunded me some of the money, but they didn't refund all of it. It was a lot and I'm still dealing with it now. I'm just through with ADT at this point.

    I was calling around for burglar alarm system and I talked to ADT. I made the sales rep aware that I already had smoke alarms here, which were here before I moved in and were not hooked up to anything. The rep said they'd take good care of that. I paid for the system and they sent me a package and it didn't have anything to connect the burglar or the smoke alarms to any facility.

    I called them back about it and they said, "Oh, you gotta buy a new burglar or new smoke alarms." They wanted to charge me 200 bucks to do that and I complained about it and they said they'd only charge me $84. They dropped the price. But still, that's not what I agreed to. I'm a little pissed off about that. I'm debating whether I should take off the system, pull it back down, put it in a box, and send it back to ADT and go with another company. I'm talking to another company and they quoted me a good price and it's complete, smoke and everything.

    I became a customer in October and have had a lot of issues going on. I've called customer service and gotten transferred seven times or about the majority of the times that I call. They tell me that they are transferring me to a tier three team or some other type of department or account management, but they don't ever give me any resolution to anything other than the two replacements that were sent to me. I've had to go out of my way and contact Google themselves about the devices and I've done their troubleshooting. I've had to split my router into a dual where it would run off at 2.4 and 5 gigahertz, and I've had to have my network from my internet provider run diagnostics on it multiple times. I've spent around 24 to 48 hours exactly into getting this system to try to work.

    I have four cameras still sitting at my house right now and none of them will connect. They're outdoor, indoor battery ones and I haven't been able to use them since I got the service with ADT. I've had a technician out to my home, and he did what he could do. He said I was doing everything correctly and I was gonna be getting a free router sent to me. Other than that, he wasn't able to provide me with much of a solution. After the technician came out, I was told something about somebody was supposed to call me back within seven days and I never got that call back either. As much effort and time that I've had to put into this and I still ain't got my system working right, ADT in itself, I would recommend, but the products that I have right now make me second guess it.

    The box that ADT Self Setup gave me doesn't work if I tried to turn it off. That's a big deal, especially in a panic situation. And the app wouldn't come up. That's not a good feature because if I needed to hurry up and turn the alarm off and couldn't, that would cause ADT to call me. It could set off other things. That's horrible. Because I would panic, try to get the alarm off on my phone, and it would take a minute for the app to come up. I called ADT to ask them how to turn that off on the actual base. They said it was not set up like that. It was supposed to work through my phone. That's not true. I remember when I had Blue by ADT and it would work fine to turn off the base. But with this one, I could not even try to turn it off. I could put in the code and do what I was supposed to, but it wouldn't work. That's not right. But I don't know what I'm supposed to do about it.

    I could bring that up again and say to the other guy who told me that it was not meant to work like that where I'm supposed to be able to stop it. But he was the one who told me how to do it. Because he didn't see it wasn't working, he was just, "It's not really set up like that. It really just supposed to operate through your phone." But it is set up like that. That was why he tried to tell me how to do it on the base, but it wouldn't work. That's the only thing I'm not pleased with because I need to use that base in a hurry and I couldn't.

    I'm 68 years old. I'm very competitive in that area because I was able to connect most of the product. I called for additional assistance when it came to the new Nest camera that was added to the system. I found the system better than my past system, which was ADT Blue. But ADT Self Setup's camera with the alarm system need to be brought up to par as well. If ADT aggressively improved that situation, they would have a winning situation all the way around. The only drawback is that the camera does not activate the alarm. The camera does alert for motion and movement. But the most important thing is it should have the capabilities to activate the alarm and the arm staff.

    I was an ADT customer 30 years ago, and when I wanted to get a new system in, I called ADT first. The nice lady I spoke with suggested that for what I needed, I could do it myself. While I was somewhat skeptical of that, I thought I'd try it because I have a 40-year-old son who could help me with it. What I needed was somebody to come out and look at the old system that was in and more or less duplicate that with the newer Bluetooth things, but what I got was insufficient to cover the whole house. I could augment that, except I couldn't figure out how to set things up, and I kept getting glitches. My son tried to help, and he had similar problems, but he finally got it worked out.

    One of the things that I found annoying was that after I got the equipment and realized this was beyond my capacity to do because of my technical inabilities, I called ADT and set up an appointment for a professional installation. They accommodated that, and they sent a fellow out the next day. He seemed very knowledgeable. He said, “If I put your stuff in, what's remaining is not guaranteed. The company won't guarantee it like they would if you had bought it through the professional installation section.” He suggested to me that it’d be better off to start all over again so that delayed the installation.

    Everybody was polite and helpful as they could be. But the systems in place didn't allow them the flexibility to do what I wanted them to do. The system isn't set up for somebody to change in the middle of a commitment. It's not easy to go from a self-installation to a professional installation because of the loss of the warranty on the self-installation. I wasn't happy with that but the system works fine. It's affording me sufficient protection.

    ADT got the service to where I needed it to fit my budget. I'm glad with that. I went into this the first day thinking when I set the alarm, that I am fully covered. But now, I'm not for sure about that. I don't feel I'm being monitored. We've set our alarms off several times. I don't know if ADT realized that because we put the code back in rather quickly to silence any alarms, but we were never called by them to find out if we were okay. I'm wondering what has to happen here for them to call us.

    I've had another alarm system and I had no doubt that I was being monitored because I would get phone calls any time the alarm went off. Maybe ADT doesn't do that. I've never been contacted by them for anything other than a power outage and to say I was offline. Then I realized there was something wrong with my Wi-Fi. My internet is messed up and the system can't operate without Wi-Fi.

    The features are great as long as they're implemented. But I don't like the way the doorbell camera has to be charged every 36 hours. We didn't have anywhere to hardwire it so we have the battery operated one. It takes six hours to charge it so at what point do I want my house not covered because it's charging every two days. Usually, at the day and a half mark, we start getting battery low notices on our phone and next thing we know, it's not even picking up anything. But their customer service is very helpful when you need them. I had to have a guy come out here and fix my cameras because they weren't pointed in the direction we had them initially. But it cost me $100 and some dollars to get him to come out here and do that. That was a little much.

    It took me forever to install the self setup alarm system. It has been a little bit painful and I wish I could have just paid the service. I'm not even sure if it's correctly installed. I plug it in and it shows green but the app says that the alarm is disarmed. But the Google doorbell and the Yale doorknob are working fine. I like them. I called today to have an install for the Yale door lock and they walked me through the process. I could not install by myself because the instruction was not clear in terms of scanning the QR code. It was not taking the QR code so I needed to manually input the serial number. But the serial number that was in the instruction was not the one. It was another serial number and the guy on the phone helped me to identify which one was.

    However, I'm very dissatisfied with the overall service and the customer support from ADT. They were not helpful when I tried to reach out to them and resolve my problem. There was an initial issue with amount that I paid. There were two promotions going on and I decided to pay more as I wanted to have the outdoor camera. Then I saw that they have eight items on that promotion, but the camera was not included. I called them multiple times but they kept transferring me to a different department because the self-install department is not the same department as the regular customer support department.

    ADT is great. We have a new construction home and we haven't moved in yet, but the system has been really helpful with building and all the contractors going in and out. All the communication and access is really great. However, it's interesting because my husband does aviation videos, and he was surprised that the cameras weren't a higher resolution for that price. We also have to call the company back on the setup because there are little details that we need to have the guy come back and help us with. He was really nice and I can't believe he did everything through the whole process, but he installed the doorbell crooked. Every time we walk up to it, it's crooked so it doesn't look nice.

    Another thing is our house is mostly really dark brown, and when I got to the house and they installed everything, “Oh, no! It's white!” Everything was. We were hoping it was gonna be black, but we bought the covers, and because all our window frames are huge and black, we brought the covers for the sensors that are on each window. The guy put them too close together and now we can't put the covers on them. Other than that, the system and all the sensors are working really great. We love the brand, and I would totally recommend it. It is a big deterrent for criminals.

    Everything was perfectly fine. The lady that I called the first time was wonderful. She asked me what I wanted. She gave me a quote. They were out next day. I liked that I can, "Hey, Alexa, pull up the cameras. Hey, Alexa, play this." It was a little monitor that was in my kitchen. The only problem I had was with the price. I canceled because the tech came and upgraded me on all this stuff and it drove my price up. I had to go with somebody else because they said that they would have to come get all the stuff and reinstall all the stuff again for me to get the price. And at the time, I needed protection. Everybody at ADT Self Setup was nice about it and helped me out.

    I've always liked ADT because I've had it before. I just hooked the system up and followed the instructions. It was easy to set up. When I was first setting it up the Nest wouldn't connect like I needed it to. When I called to get help, the reps were prompt in helping me and calling me back with follow-up. They were very good. Sometimes, the system blinks out. I wish the battery life was longer. But it's okay because I can unplug it, and charge it up during the day. But it's a good system.

    Everyone has been very helpful. Other than I did a location transfer and it has been a mess from there. I was promised a certain number of sensors and I only got shipped a couple. When I tried to get that resolved, I was on the phone for over an hour getting passed from one person to another to try and get anybody to help me. Then I kept getting charged for my old system. So, I called to get that resolved and it's still not resolved. I never seem to be able to get anyone that can fix my problems. Getting in contact with ADT is fairly easy. But the problem is getting in touch with the right person. Overall, their system is great. But the behind-the-scenes customer service is not great.

    Get ADT Self Setup. I feel safe with the system and it has been easy to deal with. When you’re not at home, you wanna have something in place. We can monitor what is going on. Everything works well. The only problem is I didn't get the camera fixed yet, but I'm gonna move from this location soon. Close to when I'm going to move, I'm gonna request if some of the materials could be taken off and brought with me. Self-installation can be challenging at times if you don’t understand it. It’s better if you have somebody there.

    I'm a past ADT customer from 2018. I had their service for a couple of years, but I wanted it to be online. I wanted to be able to control the system from my phone. I went with Vivint and they had all that already set up. But I had an issue with them and wanted to see if ADT had any packages. I was thinking that my past the sensors would be compatible if I switched back to ADT. I told this to the salesperson whenever I called ADT and she didn't say anything to dispute that. I told her I only had two sensors that were out, so I was only going to order two sensors. I didn't order a motion or a smoke detector. But they said it's not compatible with anything else. I had to order everything. One person told me I could call to see if they could help me out with that.

    I spoke to a manager and she was working on it. Then she put me on hold. But the system times itself out if a person's on hold too long and it went to a whole new person. It was starting all over again and that happened a few times. Most people sounded like they wanted to help me. No one sounded like they didn't want to. But when I asked the last person I spoke to on that same call if she had any understanding of what I was on the phone for already, she said no. Then she started asking if it was for business or personal.

    The entire phone call was an hour and 41 minutes. The first part was trying to set the system up. I was confused as to what each part was. I wasn't expecting two separate things. That was why it lasted almost two full hours. The second part was trying to order something but I got disconnected. I was exhausted and hungry. I didn't wanna call back and I didn't but I've been getting billed $35 a month though the system is still not set up. I still need to order another additional 12 sensors. But ADT's prices are affordable now. They were too high before and that was also why I switched. The system looks attractive and very modern. Something I didn't expect was this interactive panel that has a screen on it and a speaker at the back. I don't use it much, but I like how it changes images. I could interact with it if I wanted to.

    The sales rep was cordial. He did his job and installed all the equipment. Before he left, he made sure the equipment that he installed was working properly. However, the front doorbell ring only lasts 48 hours and it's dead. I gotta recharge it.     I got the ADT Self Setup system and ended up calling ADT to walk me through some of the stuff over the phone. The biggest negative was getting it set up. I bought the system in May but couldn't get ahold of anybody to set up my system until three weeks ago. I ran in circles with ADT. I talked to customer service. I talked to ADT+. I talked to this person and to the manager of this place. I almost returned the entire thing. But the people who I talked to to get the system set up were very helpful and knowledgeable. They knew what they needed to do. I had somebody on the phone and they told me who to call. I called them and they called me back an hour later to finish setting it up. There was no running around in circles with me trying to call ADT back to help me get it set up.

    It was a simple fix. There was something wrong with my Wi-Fi to where I needed to split my Wi-Fi lines. But nowhere in the instructions told me that. I talked to them on the phone and as soon as I told the rep what was going on, she said, “Call your internet provider and see if you have a 5 gigahertz and a 2.4 gigahertz line. As soon as I did that, I could set the rest of the system up by myself. It took me almost three months to get somebody on the phone that provided that information within three minutes for me to have the system set up.

    The system itself is a little finicky. If you don't know how to use technology, you're gonna fight with it a little bit. If you're older than 30 years old, you're probably gonna have a little bit of trouble trying to finagle the system and figure out how to use it. But now that it's set up, it's working properly. I could potentially add more window and door sensors in the future. The monthly fee is $36 which is fair. But two weeks after I bought the system, ADT started charging me even if the system hasn't been activated yet.

    The experience was quite horrendous. I spent time on the phone with sales reps and compared ADT to other companies. I was leaning towards ADT because of the integration with the Google equipment I already had. I also shopped other big companies as well as a few locals and ADT ended up being the middle of the ground for what seemed to be better equipment. I had full conversations with ADT folks on the phone. I told them about my home and the types of windows and doors that I had. That resulted in me placing an order and I received the kit.

    I'm a very technical person and I've been in technology for the last 20 years. I went to start installing the equipment and noticed that the window sensors that they provided me do not work with my windows. I have a casement window which is very different from the traditional double-hung, and the screens are on the inside of the window. I couldn't place these giant sensors that they gave me on the window without removing my screens. When I called them and told them that, they told me not to use the screens then. I asked, "I have 32 windows in my house and I can't open any of them because I'm not allowed to use screens?" They proceeded to tell me there was no solution. I was on the phone with them for two and a half hours and got transferred 14 times. When I finally got on the phone with the person who claimed to be the person I needed to speak to, I was disconnected and nobody called me back.

    Against my better judgment, I allowed several hours to pass, tried to calm down, called back and tried to go through this process again but ran into the same issue. They started transferring me again. I got transferred another four times and finally told them I was done. I waited till the next day, called back one last time and told them I wanted to cancel service and return all the equipment. They canceled the service but even though they did, I continued to get emails and text messages about the service that I canceled.

    I sent my equipment back and even though they received it, it took three weeks before I got my money back, which they did not issue. I had to call my credit card and challenge the charge in order to get a refund. At that point, I sent an email and got directed to the professional install service. I tried to call in to do that as well. But because I had a previous account on the DIY side, every time I called in and said I wanted to speak with somebody about professional install, they would transfer me back to the DIY side. It was, again, a back and forth game.

    After sending an email, I got reached out to by a sales rep, and we went through that conversation. They sent a technician out to do the install. The technician was fantastic. Unfortunately, after he left, I was a little disappointed with the equipment, but I was told I had no other options. I just swallowed it and dealt with it but it was not fun at all. I didn't do window sensors anymore. Instead, we did glass break. While all that was going on, I was making phone calls to other companies and doing comparisons and through that, I had gained some education. It ended up being the appropriate route to go to not have the sensors. However, what I had to go through to figure that out should have not happened. I should have got to that conclusion much better and in a more educated way.

    We had ADT at a prior home, so when we moved it to the new one, we called them first things first. I had to have help with the setup. We live in an area where we don't have really good cellphone signal, so the new hub didn't work well at the beginning. The setup process was straightforward. The only issue that we faced was they've moved to a new google-based system and our house is pre-wired for the old type of system. We were bummed we couldn't use the existing wiring, but in terms of the installation and the knowledge of the tech agent, it was all great. I'd tell people to give ADT a try.

    I thought that ADT Self Setup would be a good, safe choice, and a better experience than what I am experiencing. The people are nice. They know how to help. But they don't want to have someone come out and fix what they need to fix. They always want to do a virtual or try to talk me through it. I keep telling them that's not gonna work because the issue is something that I cannot fix. It has to be someone who is skilled to do it because it hasn't been set up properly. So, someone needs to program it, especially with this smart lock. Someone has to come in and do that. They were never set up properly in the first place. I can't even use my back door unless I use my phone.

    The back door, they kept trying to tell me to press the button on the door lock, and on their end, they were supposed to see a number 1 but it never showed up. We got disconnected after several attempts of the virtual call. They never called me back to finish the job. I had to keep calling several times. The key doesn't even work to that back lock. I don't even have a key for that lock. So, if it was to lose power, I couldn't get into my house. The key doesn't work, the code doesn't work. The front door, the lock is perfect. The Ring doorbell, I charged it on Monday, it was dead by Wednesday. aMake sure everything works properly before the tech leaves. Make sure they tell you how to take the Ring doorbell off, charge it. Make sure you know all the functions before they leave. Let them show you how to do it. Do it while they’re there so there will be no confusion.

    Having a technician come out was way out of my budget. So, I spoke to a sales manager in the area for ADT and set it up to where it would just be a self set-up. But he ended up having to come out to assist with the set-up because there were some difficulties with the door chirps and the actual Ring doorbell itself. The system would not sense the sensor. The chirp wouldn't go off.

    I was not able to use the Ring doorbell and had to send it back because of the connection between the Wi-Fi internet source that I have, which is T-Mobile. I got it off the strength of just the fact that I needed one. But I wasn't informed of it being an issue until I had to make several phone calls and speak to different representatives, which was frustrating, having to take time off from work to meet a technician out to the house, which hinders my pay. I ended up sending it back to ADT because it wouldn't be useful at the end of the day. Also, my burglar alarm went off but there was no entry. That was concerning because it tripped on its own.

    Contacting a rep was a hit or miss. I know I would be on hold for five to seven minutes at times. They're doing their best that they can to help even with it being on a virtual video chat to be able to have access to see what I'm dealing with as far as as in the security system in the house. But at the end, it hasn't been resolved. I'm still dealing with it. It has been frustrating and I'm very unhappy. A representative was supposed to come out the other day. He never showed up.

    I had ADT 20 years ago but this time, I was just doing research online and ADT appeared. They offered a significant discount to me up front for the package that I bought. But now, they're trying to charge me for it on top of what I had already paid. There was no agreement up front to pay for something in addition to what I was paying for. So, I paid 1,200 dollars and now, they're coming back at me for this other amount. Everything was online and I did the order initially. After I paid for all the equipment, I got an email and there were a bunch of scrambled-up numbers on there. I sent the email over to them and I didn't understand it. I asked them if anybody has ever paid a portion up front without some sort of agreement for a monthly repayment over time because I didn't do any of that. I paid for it and got all the equipment I was supposed to get. It's a self-install and I've installed about a quarter of it and I'm still working on it.

    I signed the agreement up front which said it was the discount and then, I only had to do one month of service. I'm out here in the country but I needed something and I like some of the camera systems and the discount. And now, I've done my one month of service. There is no way that I'm gonna continue the monitoring service. I'm gonna cut that off and try to get this other thing resolved. If I can't get it resolved, I will look at options for sending stuff back to them and going a different route. I'll recoup as much as I can from it. Because it’s not fair. I've talked to four different individuals and they sent it over to management. And the management was gonna respond to me. And they have not.

    The other thing is, they have this ADT+ and initially, when I was trying to figure it all out, you download the wrong app, you can't figure that out. You get the ADT app but you can't open the account because they haven't done anything. I can't put my credentials in there until ADT fills the order. So, I had to wait for it. It just hasn't been a good experience at all. But the functionality is decent. They got this agreement with Google. So, you gotta download that app and then that feeds another app. You've got four different apps you gotta use. I don't like that but I'm able to work with it and I get the notices. So, once you figure it all out and get it set up, it seems to function the way I expected it to.

    I'm very dissatisfied that somebody tries to pull some trickery. I've got excellent credit and I am going on 35 years in the military and for somebody to pull this on me, I'll do what I have to do. It’s internet stuff. I noticed early on and it was a little bit confusing, skipping around and trying to figure out this and that. It worried me a little bit that they've made all these agreements, yet they haven't followed through with all these connections for the consumer. My son cautioned me against ADT. He has another security system and it's much more expensive. He kept telling me not to do it and that it's cheap and I’m gonna wind up this and that. I wouldn't recommend ADT to anybody, just based on what I'm going through.

    The agent I worked with came out to the property and gave out information to the manager and she distributed information to the staff so we could potentially distribute it to customers. I took it upon myself, considering I just moved, to inquire about the service. The setup process for the system could be streamlined much better than what it is considering what ADT has to offer. It does not necessarily have anything to do with the agent. It’s just if you don't get it done by ADT, it's hard. My wife and I are a little bit older but we pride ourselves on being techy. We said setting the system couldn’t be this hard. But it’s frustrating. In this day and age, if you have a DIY, they should try to make it simple for you.

    The system is okay and I just got to go in and do one more thing because I hear the chime. We just got to get the doorbell going and I haven't had a chance to sit and get it done. So, in that part, I'm gonna take the blame because the agent said that was all I gotta do. And that was two weeks ago. Now, it's on the user. I'm off tomorrow and I'm gonna have my wife on as the user and I'll go in and do what I got to do on my part. And hopefully, everything will be okay.

    The technician who came out and installed the ADT system did a very good job in hooking everything up. But the salesperson on the phone told me a lot of things that weren't true. When the technician got there, he said he couldn't do this and that. The salesperson told me that there was supposed to have been some type of deadbolt system that could be controlled from my phone or my pad, but that wasn't feasible. Also, the installer couldn't put a camera on it because that particular alarm didn't carry a camera.

    But the salesperson told me that a camera could be put on. Evidently, the salesperson didn’t know what he was talking about. The alarm system that he was talking about was put on a church but he was telling me things I could put on a house. When I was talking to him, he knew it would be put on a church and he didn't know that the deadbolt and the camera that he told me about could only could be put on a residence. The installer said that that was because of ADT's policy and it had something to do with a contract with Google.

    That Saturday when the tech put the system on, he made the mistake of putting this large sensor on the good side of the door and the other sensor on the bad side. You’re supposed to put the big sensor on the warp side so if it moves forward, it’d still pick up the small sensor. So, he had to come back and change that around. But it took me a while to get him back. The lady was going to send him back on the same day but he didn’t come back. Then, she was supposed to send him on Monday but he also didn’t come back on that day. He said he didn't come back because he had to have some work order number before he could come back and do it.

    So, that jacked me around for a few days without being able to use the system. They were not communicating to get somebody back out there to make my system operational, so the system sit idle for about four days until I could get this straightened out. I talked to the people on the phone, they'd tell me one thing, then the technician would tell me another thing. When he got back out, it was a very simple fix.

    Other than that, so far, the system works extremely well. The locations of the keypad and the motion detectors are very good. I also like the ability to monitor the alarms from my cellphone wherever I'm at. 25 to 30 people can have a different code, and I can tell who enters and who leaves the church by their codes. I would tell my friends to use ADT. I have them on another house and that seemed to work well. But the glue to some sensors have fallen off. That is one thing that should be looked at with the engineers that put together the system. They should use a little better glue to stick on the door and window sensors. Or the technician should use an alcohol swab to clean the area before he put it on because it could be some grease from the air or from cooking and other stuff that's going on, plus body grease of people touching it.

    I find the ADT a little underwhelming. There are not a lot of options. We used to have “Visit”, and you could do a “Silent Arm”. But apparently, either I am unable to find where you can do a “Silent Arm” or it's not available on this keypad and base. But it was a self-install and it was easy.

    2. Stay (Perimeter Only)- Press the Arm Stay button and then enter User Code.
    3. Night Stay (Perimeter & Selected Interior Zones) -Press the Arm Night button and then enter User Code.

    4. Quick Arm -The system can be armed without having to enter a Security Code. When arming the system via the One Touch function, a long press of the Arm function (Arm Stay, Arm Away, or Arm Night) is required. The LED ring will fill with blue during the long press and once the ring is complete the system is armed. Default=Disabled

    When I first started out with ADT, the customer service was really good. But lately, it doesn't seem very good like it has been at everything and I'm concerned about it. The representative who I first dealt with took my payment over the phone and was supposed to schedule a technician to come out. But the technician never came out and I never received a phone call. They apologized for it, but still, that was a huge problem that you don't know that your technician didn't show up and there was a problem with the account. So that raised some red flags.     I ended up canceling the service for monthly monitoring with ADT because of the difficulty I have had correcting issues with the system starting with it having the wrong address to dispatch. I spent over 300 minutes and numerous phone calls trying to resolve the issue. Once they changed the address, they deleted all of the devices and sensors that were attached to the system. I'm 1,500 miles away from the location of the self-installed system with no ability to reconnect sensors until the end of the month. Because of all of the mistakes and their inability to correct my issues, I canceled the service. But they were not condescending. They were apologetic. But they do not have permission or the ability to resolve issues and it's always they have to pass you to a different department to resolve the problem. And every time you're passed, you end up in the wrong department with people who cannot help you.

    The Self Setup up was fine as long as I had access to one of the reps from ADT. The rep was very helpful. I could not have done it without a representative. When I called, they walked me through it. My experience was good. The motion detector comes with screws but it's still not clear to me how the screws go into the motion detector to hold it on the wall. So, I used the adhesive tape but it did not work. The motion detector fell down. I still don't know how to install it with the screws they gave me. There were no instructions how to use the screws.

    I had one little issue starting out with ADT. I ordered a package deal but it came all messed up. So they had to send the other stuff out. Then when they sent the other stuff out, which was for more cameras, I told them, "Ma'am, this still ain't right because this is supposed to have been a camera for the back end too." They said, "Well, we didn't charge you for that." Everything that the rep told me about it, he called it back out to me and it did have a front and back camera in it. But now I get it. They would say they didn't charge me for it, but the rep was calling the stuff back out.

    The back part was the one I really wanted because we don't visit the back of my house that much. Three weeks later, the alarm was stolen out the back. So I called ADT back and I tried to speak with them. I was not trying to down the guy because he was a nice guy and he helped me through. But something didn't go right. Even with the first order I got wasn't right, but they straightened that out. Overall, I love ADT. I love how they keep track of things. Even when my internet go down, they always call. But the incident with the back camera really hurt me.

    All I wanted was the cameras and not the notification services where ADT would call the police if the cameras saw anybody. I'm retired, I stay at home, and I like to see who pulled up in my driveway. If we called the police out here, we would be lucky to see them in an hour. ADT Self Setup wanted to push hard on the notification services and I explained I didn't want them, but they kept asking me and I explained again I didn't want them and they pushed and pushed until I finally told them, "I'm not interested. Don't mention that again."

    The cameras are okay. When I get a notice, if there was a car in my driveway, I could look on my phone and see who it is, if I needed to get up or not. We have people coming in and out sometimes. I wanna interact with them. Sometimes I don't. My wife has friends. It's usually friends of hers that are coming out. There's a bit of a delay in the notice and I have a project that is 70 miles from here and sometimes I get a notification, and it would tell me that it's unavailable to view. But we've only had the cameras for two weeks.
