ADT Blu is a modular, customizable home security solution from ADT. To use the service, you must purchase a system package and any add-ons, such as cameras and sensors, then pay a monthly monitoring fee.

Depending on the plan you select, you can get 24/7 live monitoring from one of six monitoring centers. When an alarm is triggered, a live agent will contact you and call emergency services if needed.

You can also choose to self-monitor your system for a lower monthly rate. If you choose to self-monitor, you’ll be notified by the ADT+ app if an alarm is triggered. 

The system is designed for self-installation and is compatible with Google Nest and Yale smart locks. You can control your system and compatible smart home devices with the ADT+ app.

ADT Blu customers can also opt for Live Light, a smart yard sign that lights up when an alarm is triggered. This allows emergency responders to find your home quickly in an emergency.

The ADT+ app also has a personal security feature called MySafety. You can send a request for a call or text from an agent. If the agent contacts you and you don’t reply, your location is immediately reported to emergency services. You can also set up a secret phrase that triggers an emergency services call.
