I had a house that I put all Kohler fixtures years ago and they lasted a long time. I went with them again and everything has been good. The installation went perfectly and the crew did an excellent job. Before, I put a Jacuzzi whirlpool in and the installation got done in a hurry. Their crew never put anything underneath to support the tub and eventually, it cracked and it wouldn't hold water. Jacuzzi wouldn't stand behind their product. This time, I went with Kohler ‘cause their warranty is so much better. I paid more but they stand behind their product.

I heard about Kohler years ago and they have a very good reputation here in Wisconsin. I started looking at walk-in baths when my wife needed one and I did some checks because I know that some companies don't always maintain their reputation properly. But Kohler seemed to and when their rep came out, he had pretty much everything I was looking for. He also seemed to know what he was talking about. At the time, my wife needed something soon and even though we didn't get it soon, it was on the way soon. So far, I like it and as soon as we get enough hot water, we'll be able to soak better in it because it gets cold at about 8 inches low. I'll probably have to get a bigger hot water heater to fill it but other than that, it works great.
Hi Charles, thank you for your review. We are glad that your salesperson was informative. We are happy that you are able to soak in your KOHLER Walk-In Bath and hope you continue to do so for many years. Take care.

I have been thinking about getting a tub for a year or so then the guy from USA Bath came and talked to me. Everything seemed right and I did it. He delivered and everything worked out perfectly. The Kohler product is really good and it's the best purchase I ever made. USA Bath is a good company too. They made it so easy and the credit was super fast. They have a good team.

The salesman from Kohler that came out to visit us after I inquired about them was the primary reason we picked the company. He was very good. The installation people were very good as well. Everything is fine. Since having our Kohler, I have taken two weeks’ worth of bath and I have no complaints.

Due to its reputation, I decided Kohler is the right company for me. We had had a bad experience with trying to purchase a previous walk-in tub, and we ended up canceling because we didn’t have confidence in the company that was coming out. The rep from Kohler was wonderful. He was very thorough and answered all of our questions. Because this was our second time around in investigating walk-in tubs, we had a lot of questions. He was able to really answer everything and kind of reassure us on some things that we had concerns about.
The installation day was amazing because we had been told it would be one to two days. It was most likely one day, but sometimes it has to be two days, and we told them that was fine. They came in and installed the tub, and they would have been out in three and a half hours except that the installers were out of the Quad Cities, which is a three and a half-hour drive from our home. And so, it took the electrician a little bit longer to get to us. The installer had set it up with an extension cord, so he could test it, and so we could see how it operates. But then, he waited almost 20 minutes for the electrician to arrive and waited until the electrician had completed his work before he left so that there would be no chance that we would be left with anything other than a perfect installation.
Our new walk-in tub works beautifully and it's a really great product. It's got a handheld shower, which fortunately is long enough to reach to a previously installed kind of like a sliding hook setup that we had for our original shower. We're able to use it both ways, as a handheld or as a standing shower. We love the bubbles and the whirlpool jets. My husband has a bad back, I have very bad knees, so that’s been wonderful. So, it's more than just relaxing in the tub, it's very therapeutic. I do my physical therapy in the tub.
Kohler is a company that’s been around for a very long time. They know what they do, and they do it well. I knew what I wanted. And that’s what I would tell people to do. “Do your research.” The first company that we were dealing with told me that we could not keep our walls. They had to install these new walls on three sides, and they brought me the samples. I told them, “These all looks like essence of marble. It looks like garbage. I got this beautiful porcelain tile, I don’t wanna trash it." And they also told me it would be two to three days of demolition and construction. Kohler was professional was from start to finish. From what I understand, there's only 22 installers in the country.
Hi Beverley, thank you for your review. Kohler is proud to have upheld our reputation for providing impeccable customer service and industry-leading products. Originally, I had to shower in my own bathroom. But years ago, we decided that anybody who was here can just take a shower downstairs. So for a good while, we only one shower and that was downstairs. That worked out for a long time until we got older and we realized that those stairs could be daunting. So my son told me that I better do something about that and he I didn’t want me falling down the stairs. I’ve been very careful so far, but you just never know. So, that prompted all me to get a walk-in bath.
Kohler had a particular ad in a magazine about their walk-in baths and I’ve used Kohler products, so I figured that would be a good start right there. Then I ended up having someone come out and talk about the tub. She was great and she knew everything about the product. Also, any questions that I had, she answered right off the bat. So, I felt confident in her answers and in her. The installation wasn’t too bad either. When I spoke to the salesperson, she said it should be minimal as far as demolition. But I have a small in which most bathrooms have small doorways, so they had to take out the trim off of that. Then on the other side, I had wallpaper that had just been put up and I told them about that. They were very careful but there were still some problems with that. Besides that, I love the final product. I have the heated seats, the jets, the shower, the handheld, and the shower fixture. And they're all wonderful.

The Kohler sales representative had a real good personality. He knew what he was talking about and answered any kind of questions that I had. The installation team was so good. They're the hardest working people I've ever seen. They didn't even stop to eat and I don't reckon they went to the bathroom all day. They were really nice people. The tub is beautiful and I've told friends about it. I like all about it including the jets. I like all the warm water and be able to relax and spray off. My son and I take a bath every morning. He's a mentally challenged person and he likes the bubbles.

A Kohler salesman came by our house and we talked to him. He explained that we were gonna get old and that we were gonna need help getting in and out of our tub. I got one of their walk-in tubs now while I'm able and their installation team was nice. The tech filled it up with a little water and showed me how the tub works. The one I got has jets in the tank too as well as a heating feature that works really well. So far, I like it. I can get in it when my knees are hurting and the tub soothes me well. Other people ought to try it.

Two guys came in here and they were done with the installation by 5 o'clock and it was great. I like position, the looks and the function, but Kohler didn't follow up on one of the perks, a travel voucher. If I didn't call them, I wouldn't have heard from them since. I had to call them and they said that they would send out the paperwork, but they just took the cover of the form that I gotta fill out and sent it to me. It didn't have the terms and conditions on the back because I called ETTSI and they asked if I read the terms and conditions. I called Kohler four days ago to send me the terms and conditions and I still haven't gotten that.
Ryan, the salesman, said it was a transportation and a stay at a condo for three days. I called ETTSI and they said according to my certificate number, all I get is the condo or a cruise. There's no transportation involved. I was a little bit pissed off about that. I called Ryan's office Monday and I told the girl they haven't called, but he hasn't returned my call. Other than that, we're pleased with the tub.
Hi Bill, thank you for your review. We are glad that the installation process was quick and that you are satisfied with your walk-in bath. We apologize that you were never offered the travel voucher. We have forwarded your comments to your local Kohler partner for further follow-up. Have a nice day.

I was shopping around for a walk-in tub and the company I called didn't service my area. They suggested I call Kohler and I did. The salesman was very thorough. He was extremely helpful with questions I had that I hadn't even asked. He was awesome. The installation was outstanding too. I stayed out of the installers' way and watched what they were doing as they were doing it. Overall, it was a very nice experience. The bathtub takes so much water to fill up though. I noticed that if I take a shower before I fill it up, the water gets cold, which was really surprising seeing how they took my 30-gallon water tank out and replaced it with a 60. I don't take an hour to shower, but the water was cold when it was halfway done. I have to let that heater warm back up before I fill up my bathtub. Still, I only had showers before and now, when you get in the tub, it's phenomenal.
Hi Donell, thank you for your review. We are glad you had a positive sales and installation experience.
Depending on the plumbing and age of the home, it may be necessary for some customers to purchase a larger water tank in order to maintain the preferred water temperature in the bath. This ensures a comfortable, shoulder-height soaking depth while you bathe.

Kohler had the 3-inch entrance to the doorway. You can get in and don’t have to step up too high. At our age, we decided to go with that instead of American Standard. The Kohler salesman he was really upfront and nice. The guys that did the installation, electricity, and plumbing were outstanding and truly professionals. There are no other people who do it any better than them. It took them about a day and a couple of hours the following morning. The quality of their work couldn’t have been any better.
My favorite feature is sitting down there and turning on the bubble jets. However, I was told that my water heater wasn’t the recommended size for the tub. I was told that I needed at least a 50-gallon water heater, but mine was 38. It is just a little bit small so what I do is I run the water up to just a little bit above where I sit and turn the bubble jets on. And it works fine. And because the water heater is too small, I couldn’t use the tub at six o’clock in the evening and have my wife jump in at seven o’clock. She'd get in one day and I'd get in the next day. Other than that, we’re enjoying it. It is the best on the market.

We’ve used Kohler most of the time in all of our faucets in the house, which was why we choose them for our tub. The rep was very courteous and helpful. He was a good guy and explained to us what we had to do. He and the installers explained the product really well. Our bathroom doors aren’t very wide and they had to take the door frame out to get the tub in there. But they did a good job. They took the old one out and the next day, they came and finished the job. And they also cleaned it. It’s easy to get in and out of the tub. When I was getting in the old bathtub one night, I fell and broke my leg in three places so we decided we’d get a walk-in tub. It’s a great tub that everybody enjoys. I like it really well. And my wife uses it twice a day. She has arthritis and it makes her feel a lot better.

Kohler Walk-In Bath's salesperson didn’t do a good job. After signing the contract, he literally dropped the ball and we had to call many times to the office to schedule. The salesman should care after the sale all the way to installation. The installation was okay. However, we needed to call the installer to come back to adjust the drain because the drain was very slow. Apparently, it needed some adjustment to open the gap bigger. This is the first tub that we got and my parents use it. So far, everything seem to be normal.

When I went to get out of the old tub, even with grab bars, my legs would not get me up as far as I needed to go so I spent nine hours in the bathtub. When my son was home on leave, he said he wanted me to have a walk-in bath. I'm 83 and he’s trying to get me to stay in my home for as long as I can.
The sales rep got here at 11:00 in the morning and he was very patient. My bathroom could only take the smallest model Kohler makes. I was grateful that they found something to fit. At first, I wanted to put the tub in the front bathroom, which was a small 1960’s type bathroom. My son said, “How about this one in the back,” which we added on in 2002. The rep said that that would be much better because the tub is 39-inches high and would have swallowed up the front bathroom. He measured and measured again. He then went down to the basement and measured the crawlspace.
The numbers were kind of a shocker at first. There was a discount for this and a discount for that and they got the price down. It was more than a small car, but they had to take out a non-load bearing wall to make room to fit it in. They also increased the capacity of my water heater, because the tub uses a lot of hot water. The rep explained everything carefully and said that the installation could be done in a day. And the installers did it in eight hours. They asked me did wanted the wall to indent or they could make another wall, which would be straight across. I said straight across, which meant that a lot of the space that was going to be exposed got covered up.
The installers came across something they hadn’t expected. The rep measured from the wall out to the width of the tub and there was gonna be a strip of flooring, a subfloor, that would not be covered by the tub and that would be up to me. That was the hardest part of the whole deal. It was up to me to find somebody to fill in that space because if the underfloor gets wet, I could be in deep trouble. I'm still trying to find somebody to do that, so I'm very careful when I use it to make sure that it’s latched and that it doesn’t get unlatched until it’s empty. The called me twice to see if I got it done and to see if I was pleased with the way they did it.
I didn’t realize how much taking a soaky bath at the end of the day meant to me until I couldn’t do it anymore. We ordered the tub in July, but it wasn't put in until the 11th of December. I was taking showers and missed that stress relief at the end of the day. It has made my day more bearable to be able to soak in warm water for as long as I want.

We are thrilled to hear that you are able to relax and soak again with your new KOHLER Walk-In Bath. We hope you continue to enjoy the Walk-In Bath's comfort and safety features for years to come. I liked the features and the way the Kohler walk-in bath looked, and the fact that it could be put in in a couple of days. We already filled up everything as we had our mind made up before the salesperson came out and we listened to him. The installation was right before Christmas and I was busy, and but the team did their thing and it worked out fine. The quality of workmanship performed is very good. They also cleaned it all up so one wouldn’t have known they were there. The walk-in bath is expensive and one better really want it before they spend that kind of money. Still, I like the whole idea of the walk-in bath. I like the quickness of getting the water in the tub and it works very well.

We went to the local home depot ‘cause we're interested in a walk-in tub and Kohler was the one who came out. The salesman seems to be very knowledgeable and pleasant. He explained things. The tub was put in very early January. The installation took two days instead of one. They had to widen two doors to get the tub in. Then they brought new doors to put in but they didn't paint them. The rest of the doors in the house are white and these are brown. I was told that the painter was gonna come and paint the doors. But we have not seen any sign of him.

The existing bathroom I had was all Kohler, and when we were thinking about getting the walk-in bath, I wanted Kohler to come in first because I know where I’m at with them. When their guy came in, we relaxed and he talked. He wasn’t a car salesman. He was explaining, “This is the way it is.” He also went into the basement and checked my electrical. He knew everything that was gonna have to be done. But there was absolutely no pressure. We agreed on a price, and I told my wife that we’ve had 20 years of the Kohler bath without a problem. It was a reasonable price. He was absolutely perfect.
When the installers came, they made themselves at home. They had to travel a couple hours to get here. It wasn’t a one-day job. On the first day, they came with a third person. It was a good thing they did because I have a cast-iron Kohler tub in the existing bathroom. The three of them knew what they were doing. They were great. They had to come back the second day and it was fine. It was a little difficult putting it together. But it worked out really well. I’m very happy with it.
My biggest problem is vertigo. So I had a problem trying to get into the tub because I have vertigo that’s almost constant. If I was to get into a regular tub, I had to grab the bar and I had to climb over 15 inches. It was difficult and it was difficult to shower. I can’t remember the last time I took a bath because if I got down, I was afraid to get up. But with this walk in tub, it’s great. I use the bath twice a week, and the shower five days a week. It’s so much safer because I’m secluded. Only a 2 by 2 that you could stand in. It’s perfect. It has benefited me really, really greatly. You just wipe it out to clean it. It’s not a big deal. One of the bigger things was the lifetime warranty.

We wanted to talk to a representative from the three companies that we were looking at, so we scheduled and talked with each of them. We went in and sat in the Kohler tub and liked the size and the way it looked. Kohler has a good reputation. The cost is astronomical. It was within $3,000 of our first townhouse, and this was just a tiny, little bathroom that we put it in. But when you look at the cost of a nursing home and the cost of having somebody come in, and then you look at the cost of the tub and how it will just benefit, and you can stay here and you can take care of your husband or take care of yourself, it's worth every penny.
My husband has Parkinson’s, and that was another reason why we wanted to get the tub. It was a very good decision. I like the fact that I can help my husband relax and take a wonderful bath, and he does a whole lot better. He sleeps better and he moves around better. I also like the fact that he feels safe and I can help him take a shower in there with that. He can sit and stand, depending on what we want him to do, but we don’t have to worry about him falling. It was very difficult to help him with a shower in a regular shower stall. Whereas, with the open bathtub and the bars that we have for him to hang on to, plus the tub is high, so he can put his hands and his arms there, he can feel safe and not feel like he's gonna fall. It's a really good product and we are very happy. I have some loose ends that we're tying up here. The new floor that they put in was a damn strong floor. It's awesome. We got a new cupboard and a new toilet. It was good.
The people putting in the tub were awesome. But I need to call the electric people who installed the second light for us and did the electric for the tub because we're having a problem with one of our lights in the bedroom right next door. I talked to them about it, and when they wanted to come out, it wasn’t a good time, and they were supposed to call me back the following week, and they haven’t called me back. I have talked to Minnesota Rusco about it, and I need to call them again.

I looked at 2 or 3 different walk-in tub companies and decided I start out with Kohler and that's what I did. The salesperson was fine and we got along good. Everything was handled very well. However, the installation team was a little complicated 'cause it was a different guy every day. I only had one guy who was here twice and the rest of them were different guys. I also had a hard time determining who was the manager of the crew. There were even 2 guys where one had especially done better. Eventually, we got to it and it was okay. Now, having the walk-in tub, I have no problem getting in or out. I've got Parkinson's and arthritis, and I appreciate the jets the most. Sometimes I don't feel as good as I think I should, but sometimes I stay too long or don't stay long enough. There isn't a halfway medium there. It depends on how I am during the day and the Parkinson makes it a little tougher. If it's just with arthritis, it'd be easier.

I had a walk-in tub installed last year, 2018. The seams on the door and the tub are now separating. My electrical that was installed by the company representing Kohler in Washington has not called me back. The local utility company came out and said that the electrical panel that was installed was the wrong box and that I needed to have an electrician come out. The electrician too said that the wrong box was installed and that there were about 10 code violations. He suggested I contact the company that coordinated the installation before moving forward, to see if they would be willing to remedy the problems. I'm still waiting for a response. As this was a very expensive investment, and I have had nothing but problems, I would not recommend.

I love Kohler. My experience was top of the mark. I kinda priced around, and some of them were just plain nuts. The guy from Kohler took time to explain what they would do and what he got done. I was happy with what he told me and that was why I bought it. We took the samples right in there and he held them up next to the ones that I had. I picked this one, it was kind of the closest, and yet it was a little different. It resembled what I already had.
The installer from Kohler called me in the morning, told me that he was coming, and I should expect him. At about 8 o'clock, he showed up, rapped on the door, and said, "Show me what you got." He looked at it and went back out to his truck, came in, covered the floor, and went to work all by himself. He took the old tub out. It was a double plastic tub with a metal one underneath it. Then he took the walls apart and took them out. Constantly, he was cleaning up. And when 2 o'clock rolled around, he walked in and said, "I want you to take a look at it and tell me what you think." I walked out to the bathroom and took a look and it was perfect. The thing that impressed me more than anything was the way it was caulked. It's nice and even, and it was a beautiful job. I signed the slips and he picked up his stuff off the floor and disappeared. I walked back in the bathroom and you wouldn't ever know there was anybody in there.
I had to call Kohler back because the stuff around the drain turned kinda like it was rusting, and it wasn't. We thought maybe it was the cover, but it wasn't the cover. It was whatever they put around it. When the water hit it, it changed colors. So they cleaned that up. And then the other thing I wanted was to reduce the pressure. My old shower had two faucets and you can adjust it. I would barely turn on the hot, and then I would temper it with just what I wanted for cold. It was perfect. This new one with that single handle, you can't do that. Otherwise, I am perfectly happy with it. It's fantastic.

They did the installation beautifully and cleaned up. However, when I turn the thing to make the water go out the drain, I have to hold it or else it pops back down again. It's annoying and I want it taken care of. I like the shower feature best. Even though my old shower was wonderful, I have to stand up in it and I’m too old now. I had a good experience with Kohler, although I didn't have any way to check the water temperature too well and my wife got overheated on one of them. But I’m gonna try some adjustments on the water mixer because we don’t have enough hot water to fill it up above to get the jets turned on before the hot water runs out. And I think it was a little too warm, so I’m gonna try some of those. Other than that, I had to use extra water containers on the stove to heat water to get it up for her one time. We used the air jets first because that’s the highest we could get the water. And the next time I heat it up extra, I’ll fill it up all the way. She’s still in therapy twice a week with the hospital, so it’s helping her condition.
Getting in and out of it is a lot easier. The installation went very well. They were very well organized. The guy showed up to start dismantling the old one and started laying out the parts. And then the next guy came in and did his part, and the electrician and the plumber did their parts, and they were gone. It went very smoothly. Overall, the expense is gonna be worth it over the long-term. But so far, we both used it and really enjoy it. It’s very relaxing, very therapeutic. And with her whole right side being paralyzed from stroke, she’s slowly recovering and she definitely said it seemed to help her. So, it reduced the pain. And it has enhanced her recovery because she’s getting better with the use of her hand and her leg on the right side.
Hi David, thank you for your review! We are glad the installation process went smoothly. We are so happy to hear that you are enjoying the therapeutic benefits of using the KOHLER Walk-In Bath, especially that it has help aid your wife's recovery and alleviated some of her pain. Initially, we bought a Safe Step, which was within our purchase price. Then Kohler called me. I googled them and they were rated number one. The rep gave me a price of $19,000 and I told him I already bought another tub. Then he pointed out the differences and asked I would switch to Kohler if he could give me the tub for the same price. I said that I was happy with the Safe Step and he said, “How about if we can beat their price by $855?” He then pointed out that getting in and out of the door was a problem with the Step Tub because it has a door that was not shaped the same. My wife has trouble getting one leg to work, which was gonna interfere with that. I looked at that and all the rest of it and said, “You just got yourself a deal.” I paid for it and it was installed.
I’m happy with it, however, we had one little problem with the drain. They responded instantly though. I called and they got ahold of me on the phone. The little bolt was loose on it and I asked if it wasn't gonna break it and if I tightened it myself. The said it was not a problem. I tightened it up and took care of it. Also, they didn’t sell me a big enough water heater. We only had a 40-gallon water heater, which barely makes it.
It’s an expensive product, but my wife is disabled and not able to climb in a tub. We needed something so that she didn’t have to step up so high so that she could get in to take a shower or do whatever she wants. She weighs almost as much as I do, and 20 years ago, I could pick her up out of the tub, but when you hit 76, it’s a little harder. The walk-in tub works well for that particular use. And it should improve the value for some people that are moving in the house once we’re dead and gone. Moreover, it has a lifetime warranty on it, which is excellent. Overall, we’ve been pleased.
Hi Harvey, thank you for sharing your story. We are so happy you chose the KOHLER Walk-In Bath and had a positive sales and installation experience. We are absolutely thrilled that you and your wife are enjoying a safer, more independent bathing experience with your new walk-in tub. We hope you continue to enjoy using it for years to come. I got in touch with Kohler and the rep Bob was very informative. He went over everything and measured the bathroom and the stairwell. He explained about the bathtub and the different things that it did. After hearing his sales pitch, we decided to go with them. The installers were Robert and his son Bob, and they were excellent. They ran into a couple of problems ‘cause we already had a walk-in tub and it wasn't installed correctly. In fact, Robert pointed out some electrical wires that were supposed to be grounded to the tub itself. He was surprised that we had not received an electrical shock.
The tub was larger to get up by stairs, so he had to find a way to disassemble the wrought-iron stairwell that we have so that they could get the tub upstairs and get it installed into the bathroom. They looked at the situation and came up with a plan on how to get the tub installed correctly and safely. Robert told me everything that he needed to do. Everything that he did, he explained what he had to do and all of the problems that cropped up along the way, which should have been done correctly in the first place. We did all of those things so that the tub would work properly and that we would be safe in using the tub. I would highly recommend him to any of my friends and relatives who are thinking about getting a walk-in tub.
I love all the features of the tub. It has the air jets and the hydro thing where it has the tubes where the water comes out against your back ‘cause the back is heated, and at the bottom of your legs, it’s heated. I like that, but we especially like it for my mother. When she got into the old tub, she would let the water out and then she couldn’t figure out how to get out of the tub. Now, the tub is completely on the floor. It’s a big difference because the way you step into the tub is a lot safer. Not just for her, but for us.
The only thing I don’t like is the fact that you can’t put bubble baths in the tub. Robert said the same thing I heard about our first tub which is something about the bubbles clogging up the vents. If I would be taking a bubble bath, I wouldn’t even be using the jets. I’d just be sitting in the water with the bubble bath. Sometimes I do stuff here in the house, and I need to soak in the tub with Epsom salt. I’m not sure if I can even do that. So, whenever I need to take a bath or soak in Epsom salt, I go upstairs on the third floor and soak in the tub up there because the tub up there is one of those old clawfoot tubs.
Hi Deloise, thank you for your review! We are glad you had a positive sales and installation experience. We are thrilled that you love all the features of your KOHLER Walk-In Bath, especially the Bask heated backrest. We are glad that you have peace of mind knowing your mother is able to bath safely. As for your concern about bubble bath products, unfortunately, we do not recommend using Epsom salt in your walk-in bath, but we hope you will enjoy the many comfort features it has to offer. Have a great day.

I like the quality of the Kohler tub. In fact, I also installed a regular Kohler tub upstairs. But for the walk-in tub, I considered some other brands. We considered three things. One is the salesman. Two is the company and three is the contractor used to install the tub. But if I had had a list of 30 companies, I would not have picked the company that Kohler chose. When I called Kohler, they sent out a salesman and we signed a contract with him. But I wanted to know who I was dealing with and I asked him who signed his paycheck. He said that they had an office in that company but that Kohler signs his paycheck. They're very wrapped up in their bureaucracy. Every time you call, it's, "Let me get you to the right person."
What really put me off in the beginning was that they called and hung up. I was okay with that, with a flag, but the second time I called, they said they would call me back at the end of the day and at the end of the day, they didn't. I called and the company said that person had left for the day. I said fine but he had 30 minutes to give me an answer. I told him that I didn't care if they would come or not but that he had to give me an answer one way or the other. I said that if they didn't have an answer in 30 minutes, we were canceling the contract. They found the woman who had to give me the answer and she said they were not coming that day but that they would be there the next day. That was all I wanted to know. I wanted a straight answer.
Plus when we started the whole deal, we weren't ready to install the tub because I was doing a lot of remodeling. I've been doing remodeling on this house for about nine months. But we went ahead and I told them we were not ready but that I would let them know when we are. Because of the contract, the finance company pointed out the close-in date. We were about 30 days out from it and we started getting an invoice for the stuff that remodeling company started buying. That was interesting.
Aside from that, there are four things that I don't like about the tub. Two have to do with the installation and two have to do with the tub, after the fact. First, the tub door has water in it. It has not leaked on the floor but there's water in the door, which has me kinda bugged. My tile guy found it because he was having to open it and close it quickly so he can get up there and do the tile work. He mentioned it. I gave it a jostle back and forth and yeah, there's some kind of fluid in there. I have no idea how it got it in there but I called and I wanted the guy who installed to come out. I had some questions for him and he said it would be a service call. The door arrived yesterday, I'm gonna call them so they can come out and replace it.
Number two is about the unique system Kohler uses to close the drain. It goes through the cable, the same way they have on the tub. But on the tub, when you put that dial on, there's a set screw. On the walk-in tub, there's a handle that's about four inches long and there's no way in God's green earth that you can screw it on tight enough for it to stay. When the tub is on and the jets are moving, that has to be tied every 30 seconds. If you don't, that whole thing will fall off down in the tub. That is real annoying and that's very poor quality. Kohler needs to fix that. In fact, I wanna talk to somebody about it and I wanna show them. So I'm gonna show the contractor when they come out to install the door. I expect him to say it's gonna be another service call. But what do I expect? Like I said, I wouldn't hire this company.
Number three is that Kohler, in their grand wisdom, is not prepared to do a clean install of the tub. They're prepared to do what they consider as a retrofit. But I can't imagine someone spending this kind of money and not replacing the tile. That's just asinine. So Kohler needs to have one of two options, either they include a trim kit for a new install or the installer needs to be aware of the materials to be installed so that there will be a better fit, which brings us to the last one, number four. If you watch the commercial on TV, they say that that tub is meticulous and the tub sits right next to the tile. Ours does not.
Now, granted that all the guy had was a slab to work with, all he had to ask me was what the finished height of my floor was gonna be. I could have told him it would be exactly 3/4 of an inch thick. But that tub sits above that and there is roughly about a half-inch gap. So I had to search and find some special molding to put across the bottom of that for it to have a finished look. Kohler can do better. For the kind of money we're spending, everything should have been perfect.
In addition to that, it was based on the ad that we called Kohler and the ad stated that all you have to do is have the salesman come out and make his presentation, whether you buy a tub or not, he will give you a free set of tiles. But the company Kohler chose wanted me to prove that I had seen the ad. They were messing with the wrong guy though. I had that capability and I did show them. I gave them the ad ID and finally, they gave me the free tile.
The first thing that happened was some idiot with that company called and gave me some lip service. I hung up on him because I didn't wanna hear his bull. The second thing I did was, when I got off the phone with him, I picked up the phone and I called Kohler. I said I was calling about my tiles and they said they would get that right out. I was impressed with Kohler. But the company they hired to do this, calling me to prove that I was supposed to get a free set of tiles based on the ad that I've seen – that's bull. Now, I record every ad I see of Kohler. I have it on a hard drive because if I hear anybody else having a problem with Kohler, guess who's gonna tell them who's got a copy of it and how to get it? For the money we spent, that just won't work with me.
On the other hand, it is a good tub. I'm not a tub person. I like taking a shower but I love that tub. The hydrotherapy is pretty amazing. It's something you have to experience to appreciate. I put the walk-in tub in to help my mom for better circulation and it is helping her legs look better or she's getting around better. Overall, I have recommended the tub to people. But I'm telling people to be leery of the company that Kohler is gonna have sent out. Customers have no control over the company Kohler hires. But customers should have an option to choose. Anybody that's getting a bid on something should get at least three bids.

I bought the Kohler walk-in tub specifically for my wife. She could get in it and close the door. Otherwise, she has to go downstairs, and it’s hard to go into a tub. Kohler was too expensive but they had a good reputation. The installation crew was good too but they put only one grab bar and when my wife pulls herself up, she’s pulling herself sideways, not up. Last night, she stood right down into the tub. We like the tub but that grab bar is the biggest thing and that other grab bar is awfully important. I’m gonna have to call Kohler back and see what they can do because it’s dangerous for my wife. They could come here and put one in because we paid a lot of money for the tub. My wife likes it. My mother is 84 now and my dad passed away, and I didn’t like her in the house by herself crawling in a cast iron tub. I’m in the plumbing industry, so I’ve known about Kohler for a long time them. I’d read up on them and I knew the quality of their product, which was why I went that way. My mother likes the hydro jets. Since having the tub, it has helped her and she doesn’t have as much pain in her back.
The installation went great and everything was working but then, the tub filler on the cold side would not shut off. It started as a drip, and I called and told them about it. By the time they got there, it was running constantly. We’ve been waiting three days to get a part and my mother’s been without a tub. So, I’m not happy. I finally called them back today and nobody told me how soon someone could come out. They claimed they were gonna have the part tomorrow, but I don’t know why we had to wait four days to get the part. It was supposedly just a stem that went in the cartridge. I would think that they would have some on hand for little repair parts in case something like that happens.

The tub is excellent because with the one before that, I couldn't get in the water. With Kohler, I can get inside and sit down and it's not cold. I got a little leak around the part that you pull up for the shower, but other than that, it's fine. Also, it would be nice if they had one more bar on the inside to pull up.

Updated on 12/31/2019: Kohler walk-in tub installed by Fairbanks Constr 10/29/19. Can't comment on tub since I've barely been able to use it. Immediately became oblivious that newly installed 50 gal hot water heater was inadequate at current 125 deg setting. Took 3 wks for Fairbanks to correct. Now plug does not work. Have to manually hold lever until about 2 ft of water, then I am able to wedge a comb under plug. When water level about 1 ft, plug works. Called 12/16 (about)for service. Nothing. Called again today 12/31. Told by Crystal that AVERAGE RESPONSE TIME WAS ABOUT 10-14 BUSINESS DAYS!! 3 wks. And they would call back to make appt. After expressing my displeasure they 'granted' me an appt for 1/9. So far not my best experience. Glad we have two other tubs! SERVICE SUCKS! Kohler needs to tell customers about (minimum) 10-14 business day wait for service. They 'neglected' to inform us.
Original Review: First - look at the fixtures. You will lose shower functionality. The installer - Fairbanks Constr put up a bar to hold the shower head, but not good. Next - no way the 50 gal water heater can fill the tub with hot water when it is left on the factory setting of 125. Unless you enjoy a cool bath. Took 3 weeks to get that adjusted to 135. I noticed in literature prices were 12K to 17K. Don't know where those numbers came from. I'm looking at my bill - #19,546.00. Now plug not working. Over a week since my call to fix. I have a 20K white elephant in my bathroom. I'd like to use it. I'm fortunate that I have 2 other bathrooms for backup. Between not enough hot water and non-functioning plug, I have not been able to use much.

When I was searching for a walk-in tub, I called Kohler and requested information. I knew they were a good brand. The rep was very pleasant and knowledgeable. He answered all my questions and I was pleased. Two guys came to install the walk-in tub one day at about noonish. They worked all afternoon, came back the next morning and finished it up. They were professional and thorough. They checked everything. I was concerned about it being weighted with water once it’s filled and falling through the floor, and they said they’d check that. I heard them crawling around under the house so I knew that they were doing what they said they would do. It's expensive and I’m worried about the money, but other than that, it’s fine. I just need the hot soaks, but the hydro jets are nice. Moreover, I sleep better.

Kohler is a good name and when I bought a walk-in tub from them, the sales rep was good. The product's fine but the water heater is not so fine. All three of them that installed it said the 40 gallon should handle it, but it didn't. I try to use hot water in the tub but I had to experiment with it to get it to where I wanted it. However, I'd still run out before it got up towards the jets to where I could use the therapeutic feature. They didn't recommend anything to resolve my situation and I went out and got a tankless water heater. But they came out the other day to put a new shower bar in because the shower is supposed to be over the center of the tub, not off to the side where they put the bar handle. So so far, everything's going good. As much as I hate taking baths, the therapeutic massage that it gives you is my favorite thing about it.
Hi Joseph, thank you for your feedback.
Depending on the plumbing and age of the home, it may be necessary for some customers to purchase a larger water tank in order to maintain the preferred water temperature in the bath. This ensures a comfortable, shoulder-height soaking depth while you bathe.

I'm an old CNA and I have been in the business for 47 years, so I've always known about Kohler. Being a CNA, I knew exactly what I wanted. Their sales rep was amazing. She came in and I told her I wanted a walk-in shower. So she went in and took measurements. It was an easy process. The installation team came in at 8 o'clock in the morning and they didn't stop until 8 o'clock at night for two days. They did two 16-hour days and they cleaned up after themselves. There wasn't one crumb. They even swept my hallway because it was a rock that they put on and it made a hole in my other wall. They even patched that and painted it for me.
I like that I can get in and out of the walk-in tub without falling. I have a broken hip and I'm gonna go in surgery in January. I had one of those bedside commodes in one of my bathrooms and their rep measured it. I said, "I want it that height," because I'm tall and when I get down on the low seat, I can't get up. I'm stuck. So they made it just as high as I wanted it and it was perfect. I'm not climbing over a tub nor sitting on the bottom of the tub trying to figure out how I'm gonna get out of it. There are rails everywhere, so I can get out. I bought an extra rail and they even put that on with no extra charge. My girlfriend was over here and she's gonna have two bathrooms done. She thought this is for everybody and she's gonna have them do both of her bathrooms.
Hi Barbara, thank you for your review. We are so glad you had a positive sales and installation experience. We train all of our Kohler local partners to treat your bathroom like their own, and we are glad they took excellent care of your home. Kohler was a leader in plumbing and fixtures for a long time. So, when I decided I wanted a walk-in tub, I wanted to get the right one the first time. So, I decided I wanted the Kohler and I worked with Caliber Medical Supply, their distributor in Idaho. I’m just now getting to the point where I’m going to use the walk-in tub for the first time today because we’ve had a number of problems. Number one, when the unit came from the factory, it had a defective seal on the door. Kohler replaced that at no charge, but there was a time lag as we waited for the new door to come in. Then we had to wait for an individual to install the new door because the team that installed the tub initially had gone on and is not a resident of Thermopolis. So, we had to get a local person to install and we got that done.
The installation went well. They installed it in a day, just like they said they would. The hot water requirement was the one area that they did not emphasize enough. I should’ve had the hot water supply ahead of ordering the Kohler. What happened was, I had a 40-gallon water heater and the Kohler tub takes 80 gallons to fill. We tried to fill the tub with the 40-gallon water heater and got it halfway full, and noticed the water was going cold. This morning was the first time I’ve used it to its full capability.
I’d recommend Kohler Walk-In Bath with the one caveat, that a person needs the appropriate hot water supply for the tub they’re purchasing. I ended up installing a continuous hot water heater. I have a feeling it’s going to be pricey, but it’s the only way I can effectively retrofit my house and use a walk-in tub. You need to be very careful when you install it in an existing house. There are adequate facilities to deliver the required amount of hot water to the tub.

I have a nephew that's in the large construction business in Arizona. They build casinos, and they had a contract on the new arena out here. He gets into all that kind of stuff and he said whenever they buy equipment for those places, they always buy Kohler. We got a hot tub from Kohler, and their rep was good. When the gentleman came out, we talked to him about getting the tub and went over that whole thing. It would be wise to send the person that's gonna design that tub to go in and to be with him because every situation is different. We already had a Jacuzzi in there and it had to be taken out. The area around it was substantial that I think it would have been a lot easier for him if he could have seen what was there, so he could have designed it maybe a little different than it was.
We had to repair the floor after they left because the old Jacuzzi had an extra step on it and so it stuck out further. I was hoping that was included in the project. But other than that, it went pretty well. The installers were okay. They seemed to know what they were doing. They were congenial and careful with the carpet. We enjoy our tub. We get into it at least once a week so it's fine. We don't go into our shower alone anymore because even though it has a lot of pull-up bars, we have balance things to worry about, so the hot tub works better. The tub looks nice with a couple, little, minor things. There are a couple of corners that didn't turn out really good. It would've been a little nicer if it would’ve come out better, but it was really good.

So far, I like sitting down on the tub and the handheld shower feature. I can use it when I need it and it's not running all the time. The tub is also a lot easier to use than a normal tub.

You pay a whole lot more with a Kohler but their walk-in baths are made in America. Also, other companies are ridiculous and I will not buy Chinese. When I recently bought one, their sales rep was very good and answered all my questions. I got what they recommended, the 50 gallons water tank, but I have a problem with the tub. I can't get the water hot enough to fill the tub over the jet and the drain wouldn't work. I have to either stick my toe under it or hold the lever the entire time. I talked to the installer and he was gonna have Kohler call to set up an appointment to come fix it. Other than that, the installers were fantastic and my experience with them had been great. When you go in and look at their work, it looks like it was there forever. But it didn't fit because I had a soaker tub and it was smaller. They had to figure out a way to make it look right and they did a great job.
I like the fact that I can just sit in the tub though I've got some issues that I haven't thought of when I bought it. Once you're in that tub, you have to really plan. When I got in and left my glasses over at the counter, I couldn't get out of the tub and go get them. And when I go in there, I have to have my book, my prop, my glasses, and my towel. Because once you're in and you start that water running, you don't get out. But before, you could just get out of your tub and go get it. Despite that, I wish I got the tub earlier. I'm 78 and I wish that when I had the house built, the walk-in tub was an option.

When I put a request in on the web for information on walk-in bathtubs, I got several calls and Kohler was one of them. The rep was extremely knowledgeable, and at the same time he was very personable, and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I was impressed by the installers. They were very nice and respectful. And although the installation took longer than we thought because I had some problems, they were very patient with me.
With the walk-in tub, I can take a bath, which I haven’t been able to do for about 10 years because I have MS. It’s dangerous for me to get in and out of a bathtub. With the walk-in tub, I can get in and sit down. However, it takes forever to load the water, but maybe I’m just impatient. During exit, the water seems to be really fast though. Also, I like the pure oxygen jet that comes on the tub. It helps break down dead skin and I am really into that. I like to get rid of as much dead skin as I can. Overall, the experience was very positive.

We periodically stop at the Kohler displays when we have a guest in town because seeing their models is so interesting. Then, all of a sudden, they weren’t being made and weren’t on display. And when we went back this past summer, we saw them and they seemed to come highly recommended. The salesman from TundraLand was very convincing and helpful with the many questions we had.
The installers were very efficient and cleaned up very well. But we wanted to make sure that the tile would perfectly blend with what was in the bathroom and got our own tile man to finish off the tile work on the outside of the unit. And it cost us an extra $800. My husband has been using the wonderful bubbles in the whirlpool feature and I’m looking forward to that since I’ve had serious heart surgery and cannot have water above my waist until the healing is totally done. Although I have not been able to use the full features, the walk-in tub has been handy. You just slip in there in the morning. And so far, the service has been excellent.

Kohler's sales rep was a little overaggressive. He told me that what he was saying was the offer and if I don't like it, I won't get the offer. After I thought about that, I could've probably gotten that offer the next day. Even so, their installer was great. He had a great attitude and put my tub in on time. He did everything right and we're very happy with him.
However, there are a couple of things we didn't like with our walk-in bath from Kohler. We got our Kohler because I'm not able to take a shower. But now, my wife and son don't like it because taking a shower is tricky and the water spills out. We haven't figured out a way to keep the water inside the tub. Still, it has worked for me because I have to sit down when I take a bath. Currently, I like the grab bar and I'm able to reach it to stabilize myself.

I contacted a company out of Oklahoma, and then they came, did the estimate and used the Kohler products. Mother absolutely loved the installer. He worked for two days and got everything in. He was very neat, told her exactly what he was doing and made sure she could use her bathroom at night while he was doing the work and when he would leave the first day. She uses it pretty often and she loves the jets and she the heated back. She leaves the heat on while it's raining so she doesn't get cold while it's sitting there and she's drying herself off, and then she turns the off. Even though she's only had it several months, it's definitely worth it and we're very happy with it.

My husband had a knee surgery and he was told to soak in a warm bath. He couldn't get out of the bathtub. It was a comedy from any funny show you ever saw. I was in there trying to help him get out. When we finally got him out, he wouldn't get back in the tub again. And we have grab bars. But the grab bars were at the wrong angle that we couldn't get where he needed to push. You have to be able to have shoulder rotator cuffs that are in good enough shape to take the weight off you pulling yourself up. And he has one that he had surgery on and it's not strong enough.
That made his mind up to get a Kohler Walk-In Bath when he went on the internet and was researching. We always got Kohler whenever we had to buy bathroom fixtures before. So, his decision wasn't just the advertisements that Kohler put out, it was also the traditional name where it goes back forever. I remember Kohler was stamped on the toilet that I used as a child and so, that was part of it.
We were visited by the salesman and he was very skilled at what he does, and he had two very strong common interests with my husband. It was funny to see if we would get through the Kohler because the two of them got distracted by one of their mutual hobbies. He was very thorough and very interesting. My husband is a chemical engineer. They don't think like the rest of us and I was fortunate we've been married some years before he went back and got his engineering degree and I got to evolve with him as we went through this. It was quite a change. But the salesman could indeed adjust to the fact that John asked things in certain ways and so he did a really good job of it.
We didn't have any questions when he left and we bought the tub in that visit. He drove a long way from here. I'm in the northern part of Texas and he was from the Metroplex which is considerably closer to the ocean than we are. And then, the installation crew that came was from Florida. It really knocked me over. The crew was so polite and so considerate, it was amazing. I asked him, "What happens if there's a problem? Will you be coming back?" And he said, "No, ma'am." And then, he looked at me with a big smile and said, "Ma'am, there won't be a problem with this tub."
They did have to do a few things to adjust from the 1963 water system we have. He did all of that, explained what he did and why he did it. And he was able to explain to us how to use the tub, which straightforward. We're shower people. The only time I would ever soak in the tub is if I was so stopped up from allergies or cold. But I can't remember him using the bathtub at all. He has always used the shower. So, we use the tub about three times a week, which is really good for us. We're not soakers, but with age and arthritis, it's been a delightful thing to have.
I would tell my friends that we only have a 40-gallon water heater that services that bathroom and it takes more than that to fill the tub up. So, we fill the tub up until the water heater is not giving us hot water heater anymore and then I sit and read a book. He gets his a little fuller because he likes his bath cooler than I do. But we just sit there and wait until it warms up enough and then we finish the tub. I would change the hot water heater except it's the largest one we can get in the space that we're given. So, I can't do anything more about that. It's just a fact of life for us. So, it works out anyway. That's the only concern I would tell possible buyers. You can accept that it's going to be this way if you can't change the water heater, or do anything different. That's the only thing. Our salesman looked at our hot water heater and he told us that we might have a delay in that. We were forewarned so we're not disappointed.
I like to sit in the tub and read a book on occasion and when the hot water heater gets enough warmth in it, then I finish filling the tub and I have bubbles. We've had friends coming and spending the night so they could try this tub. The only big drawback is if you are having stomach distress, that is not the time to use the tub because you could be bubbling away in there and suddenly be struck with an immediate need, and you can't get up and get out of the tub and potty because you have to drain the tub first. The tub drains in four minutes, but it is possible those four minutes would be absolute misery. And then, if you want to bathe again, you're gonna have to wait till the hot water can fill it. Our salesman mentioned that we would have a up to four to five-minute drain. My husband timed it and it's three minutes and 37 seconds.
Our salesman covered everything. He was an excellent person. I knew I was having a slick sales job, but I didn't resent it. And that's the real trick because people can tell that they're being sold something, but if they feel like they're being informed and respected, then they don't mind it, and the salesman was so good at it.
Hi Crescent, thank you for being a loyal Kohler customer and sharing your story. We are glad that your salesman was knowledgable and friendly. We are thrilled that your walk-in tub has provided you and your husband a better bathing experience. We hope you continue to enjoy your new walk-in bath. Take care!

We went up there and met them and we went out to dinner with the main secretary and her husband and her family and had a really good visit. They have called me every once in a while and have me talk on the phone to some of their customers. I’ve recommended several people to Kohler.
The installation day was delayed three to four times because we were trying to work around our vacation. They also put the bathtub in and then they had a problem with the water going into our old shower that was through the wall, and then it was overflooding down into the basement. It would fill up the bottom of the shower then it would run over down through the floor and into the light fixture downstairs and get everything wet, which they don’t usually deal with. We used it five times in the first week that I had it, and it was making everything downstairs that we had stored down there completely wet. The technician came back to our house and they figured out why it was happening. He bypassed the P-trap and went to the shower and made a direct line to the drain from the bathtub.

I went online looking for walk-in baths and I saw the Kohler Walk-In Bath ad. We’ve had Kohler fixtures before so I knew them. When I signed in online, I asked for information and it took 30 seconds until the representative saw that and called me, which was impressive. The local dealer and distributor were very good, and I had high confidence in them. I also had terrific interactions with the installation team. It couldn’t have been better. They’re the best I’ve seen. The installation took longer than one day, but not because of them. They just had some fittings that were complicated and they stuck with it, and went out the stores and bought extra fittings and made it work. My wife’s got a mobility problem so she just couldn’t get in a regular tub, so I like the fact that it’s convenient.

I was looking for walk-in tubs. I looked on the internet. When I saw the name Kohler, I recognized it as quality name. The name invokes confidence. And then, I saw some of the commercials on TV, so I reached out to Kohler. The salesperson came out and he talked to us and took measurements. He was very professional and friendly. The tub is beautiful. I've used the whirlpool and I enjoy that. I use the shower feature usually for quick things and the tub feature for relaxation. I bought the tub for my mom who lives with me because she's much older. And so, the idea of her just being able to walk-in versus climbing over a regular tub keeps me at ease knowing that she's not gonna fall, getting in and out of the tub. I would definitely recommend Kohler. It's a quality product and they did a beautiful job.

The sales rep was nice and I really liked him. We were able to kid around with him and he just fell right in. He was a lot of fun. The installation was good too. I can't even tell where they changed things around. As far as the tub itself, I'm really enjoying it, especially the bubbles.

We know the line of Kohler products, so when we saw their walk-in bath advertisement, we decided it would be a good one. Their reps were very helpful and very polite. A week later, the installation team came out to do the installation. They were here for three hours and the installation went great. I was impressed by their efficiency. The quality seems to be great and I'm very satisfied. I like that I can get in and out of it because I've got a broken hip and a broken leg.

Installation went very well and they were very polite and efficient. I like the fact that if I have time, I can sit and soak, which I love to do. My husband also likes the heated tub so he can sit back, and it’s warmer for him. Plus, during these busy holidays, I can just take a quick shower. It’s more efficient and less worrisome, because my husband had a stroke on August 9th. He’s doing well now with his physical therapy, but he also uses the walk-in tub. I don’t have to worry about him being on the other end of the house and falling or being in that other tub. The only problem we ran into was that we didn’t have somebody to do the tile outside of our walk-in tub for a while. That would definitely be an added bonus if we could’ve gotten somebody there right then. We had to wait a while to find somebody to do that. Otherwise, we're very happy.
Hi Carol, thank you for your review. We are so glad the KOHLER Walk-In Bath has provided you and your husband the safety and comfort you both deserve while bathing. I had the water warmed up and I was ready to turn on the shower so that I could rinse my hair, and the handle came off in my hand. I called Kohler Walk right away, and they got somebody out the next morning to fix it. Plus the gentleman that came was very nice and he said this happens once in a while.

I'm 94 years old, and I thought the Kohler Walk-in Bath would do my old bones good. The salesperson was polite and excellent in his job. He didn't have to really sell me on it 'cause I like what they sold. The installation team were polite young men and did a real good job too. I recommend the product to anybody 'cause when you're finish with your bath, you got your shower and get the soap off of you. That's a good feature, but you need a soap dish. You need little things to hook through the clothes on, your bath puff.
When you buy a bathtub, you gotta have these little extras. They don't cost much, and I can go out and buy them, but I'm thinking they make a tub this expensive and don't put in these little extras on it. My husband said they should put also another handrail. There's only one little handrail here by the front of the tub. My husband needs to help me because I am so scared I might fall. But the tub is excellent. It makes your bones so good and your body feel good. You get out of it and you feel like a new person.

My house is a little older than I am. I'm 71, and I have the original one that was put in when this house was built. I wanted a dependable thing. I'm gonna spend all this money so I wanna get the best. I thought it was Kohler. They have lots of commercials and have good products. The salesperson was patient and answered my questions like how long does it take for the water to run out. And he demonstrated. I'm pretty good at following instructions. So I went to the store two different times and bought the cleaner, 'cause they have a whole list of them, that you should use in the tub. The reason I have a walk-in tub is because I've had my hip replaced and I was scared when you get wet, you have a better opportunity of possibly slipping. The tub is fabulous. I've taken more baths since October 8th, I think, than I did in the 21st century.
The installer was so concerned asking if I understood and he told me what he was doing. I have never had an installation like that. He came early and he cleaned up my house better than I could do it. Plus he didn't appear to be ready to leave until I was pleased with it. He was terrific. He didn't talk down to me, but he showed me everything and he gave me cheat sheet for operating the tub. But I don't know exactly how to adjust the jets. That's what I like improved. He said something and I missed it, but I read everything, including the salt box. I'm waiting for a plumber to come now because that handle that you turn to turn on the shower, it came off in my hand. I can see that it had a screw on the end, so I tried to screw it back in there. But you can't, because it runs into the faucet that's in there. So, I'm not blaming Kohler completely. It might've been that I didn't turn it the right way.

On Kohler's website, there was a little video and a link to get someone to contact you, and I got to them through that. The guys who came here for the installation were very nice, knowledgeable and neat, and they cleaned up everything. I was really impressed with them.
I'm in a wheelchair and it's very difficult for me to get in and out of a tub. And as I'm getting older, it's just getting harder. But every time I get in and out of my Kohler, it's so easy for me and much safer. I've had it for two months now and my baths have been more often and more enjoyable since. I had a cast iron bathtub that he had taken out by himself. He really knew what he was doing and he was terrific about it. He reminded me of my great-grandsons. He was full of energy.
I like everything about Kohler walk-in bath. Although this morning, I couldn't use my showerhead. There was no water coming out of it and I don't know why. I just got one other thing to try before I call them. Nevertheless, I enjoy getting in it. I just got out of bed this morning and I just thought, "I'm gonna just go and soak myself." And I did. When the salesperson was here, we talked about a surround that would go higher from the tub up, and I didn't need it because my tile was in good shape and he just was good about saving everything, so it worked out wonderfully.

We're glad to have the Kohler in. My husband is having a little bit of trouble. His legs are so weak. So, he’s okay getting in, but getting out, we maybe could have used an extra handle of some sort on the left side. I keep telling him that the whole ridge is actually like a handle, so it went better this last time. In fact, my husband had to help him because he got it on the cart backwards, and then when they got it on the bathroom, they had to turn it upside down in order to get it in. And he kinda scratched up the floor in the hallway. It took him a day and a half to complete the installation. Before, when we had just the bathtub, I couldn't get down into the tub. I didn’t get to see the figures like the original price and the discounts. I’m the kind of consumer that likes to know what I’m getting for my money. I know I paid 20,000, and supposedly, I got almost $5,000 discount. But I didn’t see anything in the bill saying what kind of discount I got and if I got a discount for seniors. Kohler should present them to whoever is buying. Because if you go buy a car, you kinda get all the whistles and whatever it takes.
I also wanted to talk to somebody else. In fact, I already had a call with them for the next day. However, I couldn’t get another estimate. But I wanted one anyway so I wouldn’t call it pressure. I have a Kohler sink in my bathroom and my familiarity with their products is one of the factors that I considered when choosing them. Also, I used to work in real estate and I know Kohler's a good-quality brand. Although it's a lot more expensive than a lot of the competitors, there's a lifetime warranty on everything like in terms of the motor, the jets and the plumbing. That was the big reason that I purchased their walk-in bath. Ten years down the road, if I have a problem, it's gonna be a much bigger problem if there's not someplace I can go to and have to pay for repairs.
The sales reps that I spoke with was okay but there was some confusion and not as much as clarity as should've been established in terms of the installation process, and that got problematic. With me running into some issues, the installation was over the course of about 10 days. There was some time when the installer had to come back and he had other jobs he had to do. But in the end, it was resolved. He was very good and super professional. He was a nice guy and he knew what he was doing.
I got the tub because my 96-year-old mother moved in a few weeks ago and I like it because it makes it really easy and comfortable for her. As for me, I don't mind sitting down or standing up to take a shower and use the bath, but the Kohler tub is nice. I would like it if the jets were higher up but I understand why they can't be because I gotta fill up the tub and then that's more water. That's my only disappointment with the tub but it's not a big deal.

I was having some work done in my house. I had a leakage in the wall and I had some restoration done in there. When the workers got through with it, I told them that I wanted a walk-in tub instead of a regular tub, and one of them me referred me to Kohler. My interaction with the Kohler rep was very good. He sat down with me and explained everything. He had this setup where he demonstrated how it worked and what to do and what not to do in the tub, the chemicals, different types of stuff that you can't use to clean it. It was very informative because I, on the other hand, just thought it was a tub that you just run water and get in. But it's a little different.
The installation went extremely well. I was thinking that it would take at least a couple of days, but no. They came in, they were all punctual, they told me that the tub would be here between 8:00 and 12:00 to install it, and they got here by 8:15 that morning. And about 4:00, they were done, had cleaned up everything, and left everything nice and tidy. The experience was really nice. And from what my daughter says, a very enjoyable experience.
I haven't had the opportunity yet to get in the tub, but my daughter loves it. She feels like she's floating when she gets in there. I actually got it for her because she had a stroke and she has lupus, so she had a lot of pain a lot of times. She also doesn't really get around a lot. As the rep was doing his briefing, he mentioned that the jets help a lot in the stimulation of the body, and my daughter confirmed it. She said, “Yeah, it really makes you feel good, mom.” I've been telling people about Kohler, but it's expensive. A lot of people don’t wanna bite that bullet. Nevertheless, it's a very nice investment as it helps my daughter a lot.
Hi Lanzea, thank you so much for sharing your feedback! We are thrilled that your daughter is enjoying a more comfortable and therapeutic bathing experience at home.

I called the number on the phone, then a guy from Kohler came out and I liked the way he did his presentation. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. The installers who came were friendly too, but they didn’t interact with me very much. They stayed on the job all day and kept working. Now, the walk-in tub helps me a lot with my anxiety and it calms me down. I also have a bad back and when it bothers me, I get in and the tub helps with the soreness on my spine. I love it and I've recommended to people who were talking about getting a tub to get Kohler instead.

After researching walk in tubs I concluded that Kohler was the best available to suit my needs. However, I quickly learned that one can only purchase the tub from Caliber Co., who is the only authorized dealer in my area. When I called, I explained that I had a contractor who was going to remodel my bathroom. I asked what the price of the tub was and what the specs were. The person gave me a price of $9,800.00 and emailed the specifications so that my contractor could draw the plans. Nothing was said about Caliber having to install the tub; however, my contractor suggested we have them do it.
I then called Caliber and scheduled a sales rep to come to my home. That is when I learned that 1. I needed to add another water heater as the Kohler unit uses 86 gallons of water and my heater is a 50 gallon tank; 2. the cost of the Kohler walk in bath is actually $15,995.00. This came as a complete shock! I was already trying to digest the $9,800.00 price! (Also, I was then told that only authorized Kohler people can install the bath.) 3. Then, in the Kohler ad online, it specifically says "Price includes: walk in bath + installation + bath walls." The sales person absolutely denied this, saying that the walls are "extra." (This is where the bait and switch comes in). I called Kohler directly to see if there was another dealer in my area and was told absolutely not. Caliber is the only authorized company to sell their walk in baths.
This whole experience turned out to be extremely negative. The price is completely outrageous. People who need walk in tubs are most likely elderly or handicapped and to charge that much to this category of citizens is unbelievable. They are already at their lowest income level with many health issues and expenses. I am not only disappointed in the Dealer, Caliber, but more so with Kohler, who is supposed to be one of the finest companies in the industry. Both of these companies are taking advantage of disadvantaged people.
Another interesting note is that in the Kohler ad online, it specifically states that anyone having an in home evaluation will receive a set of "Turkish towels." Of course no one mentioned or offered them to me. A very small, but important detail of their misrepresentation. Obviously, I cannot afford that kind of expense, so I will spend my elderly years enjoying my existing shower and be grateful that I have that to enjoy. I just wanted others to know of my experience with Kohler and Caliber Companies.
Hi Judith, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.
To ensure a positive sales and installation experience for our customers, we only partner with top-rated and experienced dealers to sell and install the KOHLER Walk-In Bath. These dealers are trained and certified by Kohler Co. to install the bath. This also helps our customers avoid the process of vetting and selecting a reputable contractor themselves. You can read more about how we select Kohler Partners at kohlerwalkinbath.com.
Depending on the plumbing and age of the home, it may be necessary for some customers to purchase a larger water tank in order to maintain the preferred water temperature in the bath. This ensures a comfortable, shoulder-height soaking depth while you bathe.
The cost of the KOHLER Walk-In Bath is unique for every customer. The custom price is calculated by factors including your home’s plumbing and electrical outputs, the walk-in bath model you choose and any accessories you wish to add. The Kohler Price Promise states that you will receive one definitive quote that includes the bath, installation, removal of your old bathtub, and any accessories you wish to add on.
The KOHLER Walk-In Bath offers a competitive price relative to other walk-in bath brands. Some add-on options, such as hydrotherapy jets and LuxStone bath walls, will affect the quoted price.
We apologize that you were never offered the free set of Turkish Bath Linens during your quote appointment. We encourage you to contact Caliber to receive your voucher.
Thank you again for providing feedback on your experience. Have a great day.

We've been wanting a walk-in tub for a long time and we've kept putting it off and putting it off. Finally, my husband did have some issues with his health and I said, "We have to move on this now." We have a lot of Kohler products in our house. I made the decision not to shop around a lot and I decided that Kohler was the one we wanted because it's usually good quality. The salesperson, Brian, came over. He was a very nice and friendly fellow and everything went well. We have a ceramic tile in the bathroom which we never tore out because we love it. The fellow that installed the tub, Peter, was very good at taking the tile from the covered up part and putting it where the shower came out of the wall. He was very thoughtful and did a very good job.
But our first experience wasn't that great because we only had lukewarm water. The plumber that they had here installed something and I had it corrected. I had to call a plumber because of a different reason. He took care of the reason I initially had him there for. Then there was this thing he found out that was installed on top of the water heater to regulate the water, and it was never turned on. After that, we had the water temperature we wanted and we're very happy with it. It takes a long time to take a bath though. You wait for the tub to fill up and it's not like stepping into the tub and taking a shower. You have to allow a good half hour. We probably won't get in there as often if it takes that long. But I am very happy we have the tub, and my husband is, too. I'd recommend it. It's a quality product from Kohler.
Hi Virginia, thank you for being a loyal Kohler customer! We are glad you had a positive sales and installation experience with Brian and Peter.
We are glad you were able to resolve the problem with your water heater. We apologize that it was not done correctly the first time. Fill and drain times for the walk-in bath can vary depending on your home's plumbing, but we are proud to offer a product that has one of the fastest fill and drain times in the industry.
We hope you and your husband continue to enjoy your new walk-in bath experience. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. Have a great day!

The first person from Kohler that came was not very good because they were supposed to be here at about 9:00 in the morning, and they didn't get here until 3:30 that afternoon. And so, the job was supposed to have taken about a day to complete, and it took two days. Also, we called about a week and a half ago about our door leaking water. It was last Friday that Rob, the man that installed it, came and then confirmed that it was leaking. He said he was ordering some parts that would come to our house, and we should let them know when the parts have arrived. They have not arrived, so that's where we stand right now.
Hi Carlton, thank you for sharing your feedback. We sincerely apologize for the miscommunication and delayed completion time for your walk-in bath installation. Sometimes other in-home visits and installation appointments can run over the allotted time, causing delays for other appointments.

We got into a rough start with Kohler, but we’re doing better. The salesperson that called me was from Tulsa. He came down here and showed me everything he was gonna do. He said that because of the location on the other side of the house, they would have to run a separate pipe from our hot water heater to the walk-in tub. I said okay. When the people came out to install the tub, I told them we already have a tub with a whirlpool in it. They said they were gonna use the same pipe. I asked, “Okay, so we don’t have to run anything from the hot water heater all the way back here?” They said, “No. We’re not gonna have to do that.”
I have called and left messages twice with the guy that gave me his number in Tulsa and he’s never returned one of my calls. I ended up paying for something that I didn’t have to pay for ‘cause then they didn’t have to run the pipe from one part of the house to the other, and it pertained to getting up in the attic and running the extra pipe and wire across the base of the house. No one’s called me back and returned my calls, and it just rubbed me the wrong way. That doesn’t sit good with me. It also took them about 7 weeks before they got the tub and put it in after I signed the contract. I said, "As large as this company is, it shouldn’t take 7 weeks. You guys are advertising this thing, you don’t have them in stock? They said, "We gotta call the manufacturer and we gotta order one, then it’s gotta be shipped here. That’s why it takes 6 weeks.” That didn’t make sense to me.
Then the tub just stopped working so I called the local number. They said that they would get ahold of the people to come out and check it. I waited a week and nothing happened so I called them again. I told them point-blank, “This is **. It’s been a week and no one’s contacted me or anything.” The lady proceeded to tell me that there’s only one contractor that installed their hot tubs for the state of Oklahoma and parts of Texas and a part of Missouri. If they're gonna have a business as this big, that doesn’t make any kind of common sense. When I'm gonna pay this much money for a hot tub and I gotta wait 6 weeks for it, then I gotta wait a week when something stopped going, no, that left a bad taste in my mouth. I have not been happy with it at all.
But the guy came out here. He opened the side of an opening and showed me where the breaker is on the inside. He said, “Here’s what you guys do. You just flip this right here and it works.” I said, “Fine. If you’d have told me that on the phone, we could’ve been good. But no one said anything. You had to come up here, you had to make a special trip from Tulsa.” I’m very dissatisfied with the service. It is terrible. But I’m satisfied with the tub. It is is wonderful. The installers were excellent too.

We saw walk-in bath ads on TV and decided we wanted one. I searched for the companies that made them and found American Standard and Kohler. We know Kohler very well. We have their faucets and we're very happy with the quality of the products. So, we picked Kohler. Our interaction like with the sales representative was excellent. We made an appointment for them to come, give us a demonstration, and talk about it. They were very professional and had extensive knowledge of their product and other products, so they could easily tell us the differences. Plus, they didn't push the product.
I also checked some of the differences and they were accurate with what the fellow was saying. The information I really wanted to check was if other products had more water jets. He explained that more was not necessarily better. Also, on the water draining, Kohler does not have an enhanced drain system with a pump that makes the tub empty faster. He explained why that was not necessarily a good thing, which I also checked out.
Other than that, I like that you can walk into the Kohler tub. My wife was not able to get into our old tub, which was a very high and cast-iron tub. So the Kohler mainly was for my wife so that she could take a bath and not just a shower. Plus, I have always wanted a Jacuzzi type of a tub, which is my favorite part. Now, I take baths more often because I like the relaxation it gives me. I'm extremely happy with the experience.
Hi Robert, thank you for being a loyal Kohler customer! We are glad that your local Kohler Partner was able to explain that more jets can often weaken the overall power of the jet system, so it is important to consider the quality, rather than quantity, of jets in a tub.

The reps came to the house and we discussed everything with them. They were great. The installers were good too. They did their job, and then after they were done, they explained everything to me. Every time I use it though, I do something wrong. I couldn't find how to turn the shower on, and it took me forever to find out that the thing behind the spigot itself wasn't for the drain. The biggest thing is I have to get a shower curtain because it splashes. The jets are so powerful that it goes everywhere. Nonetheless, the tub helps me feel better. Part of my problem was I had no idea how much those things cost. So, I kinda pared it down and I wound up doing my own tile surround, and it looks great. I had a knee replacement 20 years ago, and it’s very hard to get in and out of a bathtub. So, we have a really nice shower in our master, and then we went on this luxurious vacation and they had this great big tub that I could get in and out of. There’s been nothing but positive interactions with them. She likes the tub heated, and she likes being able to get in and out. It's a little large for her though, so she slides off the seat. I still have to directly supervise because of that. If your feet can’t touch the bottom when you’re sitting in the seat, then it’s dangerous. It’s like having a toddler in the tub in a sense because if she would slide down and get into the water, I’m not sure how well she would be able to pull herself out. Kohler's salesperson and their professionalism were very nice. We were told when the installers would arrive to put in the tub, but it was off by hours. It wasn't the installers fault though. They came from such a distance that there was no way they would have been at our house by 9:00 to 11:00. Kohler's home office people should not say that something was going to happen when it was obviously physically impossible. They should not put the installers in a position where customers are angry by the time they arrive. If we had been given the correct information by the home office people, it would all have started out on a much more positive note.
However, the installation team was very nice and were excellent at cleaning up after themselves, which I really appreciated. They suggested a change from what the salesperson had suggested. And their suggestion was correct. It worked out very well. But the second day took a long time because one fellow had to do all the work. He stayed until after 6:00 o'clock in the evening to finish. He had driven from several hours away and had a several-hour drive ahead of him to go home, which he didn't complain or tell me about. The tub is great. I picked up a yellow page book and I saw Kohler in there. The rep was great and I liked everything about his presentation and service. The installation team only took a day and a half and the experience was great. The tub is very relaxing. I’ve got neuropathy and it helps my feet.
Hi Joseph, thank you for your kind words about your sales and installation experience with your local Kohler Partner. We hope you continue to enjoy relief and relaxation in your Walk-In Bath!

We were initially given a choice between a Kohler and a Jacuzzi, and the salesman said that the Kohlers are a little bit wider to sit down in. He also said the only difference was that we weren't supposed to use too much Epsom salts or any kind of bath salts in them. But we talked to someone else with Kohler and they said that if we wanna up Epsom salt in there, it's not gonna hurt as long as we don’t make it soupy.
We decided to order the Kohler bathtub and it was very easy. When we called, they contacted us back and made arrangements to come out within a week. And at that time, we decided that we really wanted to do that. So, the man explained things to us and we were pleased with his presentation. He told us everything about it and the guys who came out to install it were also very professional.
Now that we’ve got the tub and used it a few times, it’s really good and I like everything about it. It's an awesome system. We can turn on the water pump or the air bubbles and it keeps the water hot. It doesn't cool down when you're using it and that’s a big plus. If you soak in the tub very long, it’ll get cold. But if you run it, it stays warm. It’s also easier to get in and out of our Kohler than a tub or a hot shower. Plus, I can soak in it. I’m on my feet a lot and my back, knees and hips bother me all the time, but I can just sit in the Kohler tub and actually relax. Then the pain goes away. And when I get out, I can just jump in bed and go right to sleep. But I wish that they got a little shower compartment on one end a little bit and that the shower hose was a little bit longer.
Hi Shane, we are so glad to hear that the Walk-In Bath is helping with pain relief and relaxation. We are also pleased to hear of the professionalism demonstrated by your local Kohler Partners during the sales and installation process. We hope that you continue to enjoy your new bath experience! Take care.

The rep who assisted me with purchasing my Kohler product was great. I liked his presentation. He made it simple and easy for my 89-year-old mom to understand everything. He had visual aids and that worked really well. My mom can't hardly walk and she's very much dependent on a walker. The tub benefits her because she's able to get into it with minimal assistance.
Hi Dwight, thank you for your review. We are so glad that your mother is enjoying the benefits of the Walk-In Bath. We hope it provides peace of mind for both of you and that she can continue to bathe easily and independently. Have a great day.

I love Kohler's product. I wish we had it five years ago. We decided that we needed the walk-in tub after their guy came here and gave us a demo. He was very good and knowledgeable. It was just almost unbelievable when he gave us a quote for how much it was gonna cost - it's like buying a house or a car. But we’ve never really invested anything in ourselves. We always do for our kids, and they’re all grown and got families of their own. And with our age and the things that are wrong with us, we find the tub as something that we needed. And so, we decided to take the plunge.
The team that put the tub in was fantastic and they answered all of our questions about how it works. They also took all their garbage away. We were very satisfied with them. It just took a while to figure out how to get a hold of somebody for help with a defect in it, but they’ve called me and they’re coming to fix it within the next six weeks.
Our Kohler tub is a godsend for my husband and me. My husband likes it for the whirlpool while I like to just be able to sit, soak and bathe. I can sit down and wash my hair. I have had COPD really bad, and to stand in a shower and then raise my arms to wash my hair really puts me into spasms. So with the tub, I’m sitting and everything is level with me. It’s convenient and I don’t have to worry about falling.
Hi Flo, we are so glad that the Walk-In Bath is providing a safer and more comfortable bathing experience for both you and your husband. We are also happy to hear that your sales and installation appointments were to your satisfaction. We hope you continue to enjoy your new bath. Take care!

I always had to depend on someone to get in a regular tub and get out again. But with my walk-in tub now, I can get in and out by myself. I can close the door and I can sing and whistle. I don't have to depend on someone to help me. I enjoy that independence. I also like the guarantee that Kohler had for the lifetime that we're here in the house. We'll be able to call them and they'll come out and fix whatever needs to be fixed for free. Their salesman was very nice and did very well with explaining things. He even showed us a video, and that helped.
The installers were very good, too. We were surprised when they took the back wall out because there were thousands of little ants behind it. We have been in this house for over 40 years and we never knew about it. So it was really good and we were very happy that they told us that we should just consult someone then we got the problem fixed. After we took care of all that, it was a matter of just a couple of days and we were able to get them to come back. We would recommend them.
Hi Maxine, we are so glad you are enjoying your independence in the bath! We are proud to offer a walk-in bath that enhances the safety and independence of our customers. We hope the Limited Lifetime Warranty also provides peace of mind. Thank you for your kind words about your local Kohler Partner. We hope you continue to enjoy your new bathing experience at home. The Kohler sales rep came to our home and met me and my wife. He was excellent. He answered all of our questions and spent an hour and a half with us. I was impressed with the Kohler brand, the equipment themselves and the company, and the reviews I've seen online and I ended up buying their walk-in tub. When the installers came, they were exceptional as well. They showed up on the day that they were supposed to be there and finished in two days like they promised. They were helpful in going through the steps and the procedures operating the walk-in tub. For the safety aspect, the whirlpool jets are my favorite part of the tub. My wife is handicapped and she feels a lot more secure in bathing than standing up in our shower. She also enjoys the Jacuzzi jet aspect of it and the heated seat.
Hi Chris, thank you for your feedback. We are so glad that you and your wife had a pleasant sales and installation experience. We hope you both continue to enjoy the bath's comfort features and the security of a seated bath experience. Take care!

I was looking for a better tub and something made in this country. I thought Kohler makes a good one and I've been using them for 20 to 30 years. I researched that a little bit and I finally found one I could afford. The rep who assisted me was a nice old man. We had a cup of coffee and had a nice conversation. We talked about the purchase but he was very tight and wouldn't come down anymore. But I needed the tub so I told him I'd buy it. He sent a young man over here and did a fantastic job. But they never sent me the warranty. I need to know what is the warranty on it and how long it is. I talked to the old salesman the other day but I haven't got the paperwork yet. Still, Kohler did well. I enjoy the Kohler bathtub and it's a nice little deal. I like the massage with jets and like to sit in hot water and sweat a little bit which can be good for rheumatism.
Hi Richard, thank you for being a loyal Kohler customer! The walk-in bath comes with a Limited Lifetime Warranty so you can enjoy complete peace of mind. We are so glad that you are enjoying your new walk-in bath and that its hydrotherapy features are helping with your rheumatism.

Before I knew about Kohler, I contacted American Standard and they came out. But it didn't seem like they were interested because they were lukewarm about accepting the job, and they didn't wanna try taking the tub up the steps. And then I saw a Kohler ad in one of the magazines that I get. I contacted them and two guys came out and took a look at it. They told me that it would be tough but they could do it. Then they sent the installer out and he said it ain't gonna be easy but they would do it. I was happy with that right from the start because these guys were willing to give it a shot.
I like the fact that I can get in the tub and get out without any problem. The one drawback is that I almost have to crawl up on the seat in order to close the door without it touching my feet. It's not a bad thing, but it could have a knockout on the lower portion of it. So, it would pass over your lower extremities without any problem. But it's really not a problem for me and my wife. We love the tub. It is everything I expected and more. We both like the shower head as well. The water jets are great. They really kick up the water, and they really do the job and relax you. We were completely satisfied with Kohler.
Hi Vernon, we are so glad that your local Kohler Partner was able to install a walk-in bath in your home! Thank you for your feedback about the bath's door. There was a young woman named Annabelle at Home Depot who was so informative and she was handing out information about free installation with Home Depot. I took the information, read it, came back and said that we need to make an appointment so it worked out very well. The installation was easy and the team was superior. They’re good folk and I was positively impressed. There were a few extra things that kinda went along with this installation and they helped me with those. I had them paint walls and put in a new sink so it really looks like a new room and it’s beautiful.
I’m 80 years old and I always have aches and pains. Once I get in the Kohler Walk-In Bath and let that thing work on for a while, I won’t have as much soreness. It helps and it’s like having a massage. I like that the water drains quickly as well. Also, I can sit there and use the showerhead and/or turn the water on and get clean very quickly. I don’t have to do a big bath with bubbles. I can use it quite efficiently if I need to. Everyone just thinks that you get in, sit down, run the water, run the pumps, and you’re there for half an hour. No, you’re not if you use it right, and that’s been a nice eye-opener. Overall, A-plus all around. The people were amazing. The product is just well-made and I’m enjoying it.

The experience with Kohler’s service has been great. I like the tub because you can actually get in it. The door swings inside instead of outside. I was also impressed with the sales rep’s knowledge and being a people person. Plus, the installation team did a fine job and cleaned up everything.

Kohler provided some assistance in putting the tub in which other companies didn’t do. Plus, I had some experience with them. I’ve been up to their headquarters, so I knew something about them. So, that kind of swung me. I liked the product too. The two sales representatives and I had a good old time. They came in and sat down at our living room and we discussed the pros and cons of it. They did their sales pitch but it wasn’t heavy-handed.
The installation team was good but there was a problem. I filled out a paper that we sent in to them that the bolt in the drain broke the first time I used it and they came three days later. The water had gone through my ceiling and straight through my ceiling tile. They looked at it and said that it was the bolt. Then, they found out that day that that very bolt had broken in three installations recently. So, it was just the bolt itself. They put a new one in and it has worked fine since then. They fixed it and took responsibility for it. I was told to send in a claim for the cost to my ceiling tile and my labor, and I did. I haven’t been paid yet for that but I assume I will. I like that you can hop into the tub and have a shower and be outta there in no time at all. It’s a speedy little shower. My wife has trouble with her hip and knees and so, she uses the walk-in tub more for that function than I do. She really benefits from that.
Hi Robert, we sincerely apologize for the leak through your ceiling tile, and we hope that our local Kohler Partner fixed the problem to your satisfaction. I had been looking at Kohler for a while and I purchased a walk-in tub from them. I liked their reputation and the salesman was fair. He worked with me to knock down the original price. The installation took seven hours and the guy was very nice and professional. He coordinated well with the plumbing people and the electricians. It was just fine.
There are no other fixtures in my bathtub other than the background paneling. The difference in cost was a little bizarre so I did it all plain. I have one handle on it that I can use that’s on the inside of the tub. With this bathtub, I would like to think I’m safer than I was. But I’m not exceedingly happy with the purchase. It’s slippery on the bottom but I’m just gonna get a mat. I also don’t like the sense of sitting and taking a bath and trying to wash my hair. It’s kinda weird. I spent 65 years upright and I really wish I had a walk-in shower put in with a seat rather than this contraption. It looks like something you'd see in a hospital. But it’s a personal thing and I just haven't really embraced it.
Hi Valerie, thank you for sharing your feedback. We are glad that you had a good sales and installation experience with your local Kohler Partner. If you find you need a more textured surface for the bottom of the bath, a rubber bath mat should help, just as you mentioned. We have found that for many people who prefer the experience of a shower, the multifunction handshower is especially useful for rinsing as you bathe. We hope you continue to feel safer and more comfortable in your new bath. Take care.

My husband’s handicapped and I was getting very scared about the shower. We’ve been talking about getting a walk-in bathtub for him and when he said he's ready for it, I talked to my daughter. She recommended Kohler, and Kohler’s always been a good name. And so, we called the salesman and he came out. He liked to talk a lot, and we were in a hurry, so we asked him to give us the facts. He was very nice. We had a Jacuzzi, but it’s very low. It’s hard to get in and get out. We told him the spot where we wanna put it. And he told us what he recommends. We looked at it, and it had all the features we wanted, and so, we went along with his recommendations.
The salesman said they work with Statewide Remodeling. And they sent out some professional people. The installers, Robert and Chris, were excellent. The installation took a little while, but they had to take the old tub out. And when you have a builder build a tub, he puts all kinds of junk underneath the bathtub. But Robert and Chris cleaned what was under my tub. They put the new one in there and they had to build shelves around the bathtub. Robert took his time. He measured this and that. He was very careful and he did an excellent job. Also, Robert has called me a couple times, and he said, “Do you have any problems with it, whatever?” So, I appreciate that. I like the new tub because my husband can get in and out. The only thing is it could have a wider door. He has to really move his feet out of the way or he’ll scrape his feet when he goes in. He says an inch or so will clear his toes. That’s what gets in the way now when he gets in.
Hi Bobbie, thank you for sharing your feedback. We are glad that you had a positive sales experience with your local Kohler Partner, and that the installation professionals were thorough and did an excellent job.
