Installed new oven. Did not work on day one - taking 30+ minutes to bake a Toll House cookie. It did not maintain temperature. It was repaired within the week. Still, food takes longer to cook then advised on packaging. I have been advised to preheat the oven for 40 minutes prior to cooking. Ridiculous. No longer can I rely on pkg instructions to determine cooking time. Generally, it takes 5-10 minutes longer.
Microwave: My 18 year old microwave popped 1.75 ounces of popcorn with 1 T oil on 80% power in 3.5 minutes. This microwave, will not pop the full amount at 100% power in even 15 minutes. I have had a repair person look at it, and he said I need to add more oil, but the microwave is "fine". I have tried 1.75 oz popcorn with 1/4 cup oil on 100% for 15 minutes and it will neither burn nor cook the full amount. The popcorn setting does not work at all. I wish I could get my 6000$ back but I will at least try to warn others not to make my mistake. Stay away from Jenn-Air appliances.

We purchased the whole Jenn-Air suite, including their oven, believing their product was superior. We started to have issues with the oven back in 2020. The verbal recommendation from Jenn-Air was to power-cycle the oven when the error occurs. This help until now. But now the oven is now out-of-warranty and we have to pay for service and repair. Nice way to screw the customer, Jenn-Air. I definitely cannot recommend this product and this company.

Our house came with all Jenn-Air appliances in the kitchen: wall oven microwave combo, stove and hood, refrigerator. Our house was less than two years old when we bought it ( the appliances were installed in 2015). Almost immediately we started getting errors on the control panel and the microwave or oven wouldn't work. Jenn-Air customer support told us to flip the breaker. That worked for a while, with us needing to flip the breaker a few times a year.
Fast forward 5 years, and the oven rarely stays on for more than 5 minutes before we get an F8E0 Error ("Low Fan Speed Underspeed"). Flipping the breaker no longer works. We called Jenn-Air and they referred us to a third party (Appliance Hospital - a company serving the PNW). They told me I'll need to buy a $2,500 to fix it. After reading these reviews, there's no way I'll do that only to have the oven break down again. I'll just need to bite the bullet and buy a new one from a different manufacturer.

Since installing this unit in Sept 2020, we have had multiple incidences of the unit shutting off while using the microwave. Repair team has been out five times, going on six as we are still having issues after they replaced the entire motherboard. We just want our money back so we can get a functional unit but that is not an option supposedly.

First year of ownership was fine, thought we had a nice unit in the in wall microwave/oven combination. Then the problems started. Went to vendor and he suggested turning breaker off for 20 to 30 minutes. Ok, downstairs and back up. It worked. Then it was the process every month or so, go down turn off breaker for 30 minutes. Then it progressed to every week. Now the panel doesn't work at all. These are not cheap units, Jenn-Air should be embarrassed to build these.

Surprise! We paid tens of thousands of dollars for JennAir appliances when building our home in 2016. Guess what? Doesn't work and they can't repair! The Control panel! We've had service out and they can't tell us when the part will be in. You know the drill. Somehow the control panel gets fried either from a power surge or heat from the oven. Multiple error codes, oven turns off in the middle of a baking cycle or it locks up and the fan stops running, rendering the push buttons unusable. The trip down to my basement to reset the breaker has become a regular trip. But that doesn’t fix the problem despite them telling me to do this and leave the breaker off for 5 minutes. Save yourself a lot of money and don't buy a JennAir. Thousands of people with the same issue and they continue to get on consumers with selling their faulty appliances. Then they do the waiting game of 6 months to a year to only be finding out the needed parts were in back order.

Bought a Jenn Air double oven in fall of 2017; had sporadic problems with steam/overheating knocking out the control panel. Replaced it once; then in Jan of 2022, it stopped working altogether. I have been waiting for over 4 months now for a replacement control panel - out of stock, and no one can tell me when it will be back in stock. I have placed 3 separate orders in the hopes of finding one - with my dealer, with Sears, and with a Canadian source/dealer. I called Jenn Air direct, and they have no suggestions. Am now facing the reality that I need to buy a new oven (but from another manufacturer). There is no way a $4K+ oven should last less than 5 yrs. Extremely dissatisfied with this company. Stay away!

They sent out a technician only to find that the motherboard was not working… $2500 to replace the motherboard which they said that they would… Do you find out that they do not have the parts for my oven… Called whirlpool got one of the top managers they said that they would replace it and then Covid came we were unable to go appliance shopping…
We phoned the manager again and he said whirlpool would give us 45 percent off a new wall oven. We were going to buy a basic whirlpool wall oven with microwave But reading the reviews my mind has blown up. MOTHER BOARDS failing, ovens turning on, touch screens not working!! FIRE HAZARDS. I've had two JennAir double ovens in six years. The first oven threw codes within the first month F6E9, F3E1, F1E1, F8E0. It was under warranty and technician kept replacing consoles, blowers, etc. Waiting for parts to come in was months. Every time they replaced a part it still wasn't working correctly. After months of this my extended warranty agreed to cash me out. I figured I just got a lemon so I purchased another JennAir double oven because it fit in the cabinet in our new home. The second double oven started throwing codes after the first month of use. I thought here we go again. The technician said my double oven was missing a heat shield. He ordered the part in Aug 21. The part came in wrong 4 times and JennAir batch closed the part on Nov 21. Whatever that means?
Jan 15, 2021 I was preheating the lower oven (because the technician said not to broil in the upper oven) and I heard a zapping noise. Thank God I was standing there because my house would have burned down. I had an electrical fire. I could see the flames in the upper control panel. I immediately shut the oven down. On top of this, what was I thinking, I started a home bakery. I lost all my Valentines orders. Whirlpool finally decided to cash me out (although it takes a month to get the check). Hopefully I won't have to fight for that.
I purchased a Bosch this time but who knows. Think about this, who are the Engineers designing these ovens? Heat and condensation does not mix with computers. I wish I could find a 20 year old oven. I'm so sick of dealing with these double ovens. I'm not confident that this next one will work either. We had technicians coming over so often my husband built a platform for when they pull it out to work on it so it wouldn't ruin our hardwood floor. A class action lawsuit, as others recommended is perfect.

2 year old Jenn-Air convection oven, wall oven, and cooktop have all broken down in a matter of months of each other (3 separate Jenn-Air appliances). Jenn-Air support keeps telling us we need more parts and the technicians are now saying they won't come back because they don't get paid for visits.
On the last call, the support rep simply hung up on me when we asked for them to replace the convection oven. It's been a YEAR since the first oven broke down. I don't have any other option but to purchase new appliances, and they definitely won't be Jenn-Air. We spent nearly $5,000 to replace our broken wall microwave/oven combo in Dec 2015. We purchased the same brand since the other lasted 15 years. The touch panel had spontaneous shutdowns, however, it seemed to reset itself for the first 5 years. In the sixth year no reset would work. On the advice of the seller, we called Jenn-Air for help. They refused to admit fault and told us it was out of the warranty period. We had to replace the control board at a cost of $1,000 and labor. Our service representative acknowledged that he has to replace this part regularly. Now within two months of replacement, we are back to having the same shutdowns. I will never buy another Jenn-Air product.

Now I have a non-working and useless wall oven/micro combo. I ordered the part myself for $1,000, easy install just one clip wire. But, the new control board didn’t solve the problem. I could use the oven, but the Microwave buttons defaulted to oven cleaning. So, I sent the control board back, and a new board has been on back-order for 8 months now. I bought my JennAir wall oven in 2018. After a few months the board went out. It was under warranty but still cost me 114.00 service call. JennAir replaced the board and the oven worked until 4 months ago when I got the F6EO message again. I called JennAir and they told to me shut the breaker off, wait 1 min turn it back on. It worked … for 2 weeks and then the message appeared again. Called JennAir again and they told me I’d have to have a service man come out. 114.00 later I’m told the board is defective and it will cost 800.00 to replace it. I explained they just replaced it in late 2018 so it must be under warranty and that’s when I learned the replacement board had a 1 year warranty. I’m on the hook for the new board.
2 days later my other JennAir wall oven/convection microwave goes out. Call JennAir again. I’m told I have to have service man come out. A week later he shows up, charges me another 114.00 and tells me the converter is out. It will cost 441.00 but the part's on back order and they don’t know when they will come in. He says could be next month or in 6 months. So, today I sit in my home with 2 ovens that don’t work while looking at 1600.00+ in repair bills on 2 ovens that cost me 8,000.00. When I read all the complaints about this junk I’m convinced JennAir knew they were selling junk and continued to do so to unwitting consumers. A class action lawsuit is needed here.

Replaced 7 yr old Jenn Air with new model convection oven with microwave (circuit board problem others have noted). Convection performance is terrible. Service out to review. I was told that I now have to set convection temperature 25 degrees higher than standard oven setting and everything OK. Result: old oven would cook Tollhouse cookies in 8 minutes at 325 Convection setting. Upped the temperature to 375 Convection setting and cookies browned on edges, raw in middle after 9 minutes. Takes at least 12 minutes to cook (barely) when set 50 degrees higher than when using older model regardless of time for preheating. Disappointed is an understatement. Owner's manual still says "set 25 degrees cooler than recipe if using convection".

They replaced parts and still nothing. They replaced the unit, second year to date you have to empty the used bean tray every time before using the machine, even if it is empty. I have not fixed it as it now is never used and is just a display piece. Microwave, three years, used often, but I also have a microwave in my basement from 2000 that works better! Bought Jenn-Air JJW273ODS when we remodeled our Kitchen in 2017. It was my dream double oven big & sleek and it cost us a whopping $4,000. A big investment we thought would last for years to come. Unfortunately it has turned out to be a lemon and a nightmare. These Jenn-air products seem to have an inherent design failure that the control panel (over $1000 part) goes bad with normal use. The control panel is a computer panel that controls the whole oven. When it goes out neither oven works. Repairman stated this panel is sensitive to heat and steam. It doesn’t take an engineer to figure out that heat and steam will rise and get to this panel but apparently Whirlpool/Jenn air keeps cranking out these defective ovens.
Our oven went out the first time within months of installation. Repairman warned against using self clean or high heat in upper oven. I used it as gingerly as possible. Interior light started coming on by itself over night then in November f2E1 stuck short key message came up a week before Thanksgiving and our oven has been out ever since because the part is out of stock. We bought Jenn air Brand due to a previous appliance we had great experience with. Where is your quality Jenn air? Did it go down the Whirlpool? I feel Jenn air needs to provide us a refund for a product that failed 2 times to normal usage starting within the first year. I purchased my dual Jenn-Air microwave stove in November of 2016. About a month in I received the error code F2E1. When I called the company they told me to check my panel box and reset the switch connected to this set. At the time it reset it and all was well, until a couple of weeks later, it happened again. It continued to happen on, at least, a monthly basis but resetting the panel box would help. In September of this year, 2019 that no longer would work. I should add that this happened only after using the microwave or the timer.
I had a technician come in and he said the Motherboard had to be replaced, and that it would take a week. After a week and a half of no communication, I called them back and they gave me the number of the company responsible for the repair. The secretary told me they were waiting for confirmation from the warranty company. It took about 3 weeks to finally have it repaired. Yet, again I am getting the code, and I cannot use the appliance at all, as the first incident, I cannot use the microwave or oven.
It is the end of November, and lo and behold, I am without an oven, AGAIN! I have to wait for them to open on Monday. This is becoming problematic, and from reading the other reviews I am worried there is no real solution. This appliance is not cheap, and Who knows what will happen once I do reach them. Clearly replacing the board was only a band-aid solution, and this appliance is useless. It should be recalled. I DO NOT RECOMMEND buying Jenn-Air.

The dreaded F2E1 Shorted/Stuck Key error message. My oven came with the newly-built home I purchased 3 years ago. Last week I received the above error message indicating that it can no longer be used. After getting nowhere with the appliance outlet that sold these units to my development, I contacted Jenn-Air directly who told me that it was a relatively rare but not unknown problem that could be corrected by resetting it from the breaker box. It in fact worked...for a few days. JennAir recommended several repair services in my error that I will have to pay for out of pocket (2 year warranty). Is it too much to ask that a $4,000 oven work trouble free for 3 years?

I purchased all Jenn Air appliances 2 months ago in my 2nd home. I only used the oven once and received an error F2E1. The oven light came on intermittently by itself on three occasions and I received the error message to call customer service after the 3rd time I turned it off. Customer service said I need a new control board and someone will call about repair. In the same call I was inquiring about the registration of my other 4 appliances and was told to turn off my cooktop (JEC4536) at the circuit breaker! That there is a STOP SALE in progress because of customer complaints about the cooktop turning on by itself. Again, someone will call me back in 5 days to discuss full refund/exchange options. The thought that my new house could of gone on fire if anything flammable was left on the stove is horrifying.

Bought a new condo and upgraded our appliances to Jenn-Air thinking they are upgrades and should be good for many years as we had Jenn-Air in our previous home. A few months after moving in we called Jenn-Air Canada and told them the oven didn't recover the preheat set temp. They said that's how they worked. We called them several times about this as the oven basically shut down after preheating and putting food in and setting the timer. The temperature indicator showed the preheat temp setting but the oven would cool off up to 70 degrees before we noticed the temp didn't increase to preheat temp still showing on the indicator. You really have no idea what the oven temperature really is. They finally sent a tech out and they started changing parts but nothing changed, it always failed.
Finally, after 9 visits they said I had to call the helpline and get recommendations on what to do. So today they said nothing they can do so they would give us $600 off a new one. They now cost $5000.00 so I told them not acceptable and I want it fixed or a replacement. Their response, "This offer is good for 30 days" so goodbye. My recommendations are don't buy Jenn-air run away, run away fast and far. My sister has the same Jenn-Air in their home and it works just like it's supposed to. We also know many people who have ovens and none of theirs fails like ours.
Pretty bad when a manufacturer can't repair their own product. I would be interested in joining a Class action Suit if anyone has the where with all to get it going. I think RATS LIKE THESE should be taken to task and it would be too expensive to do this on my own as I'm sure they have a fleet of on staff lawyers that would drag this out but that way it might get some media coverage to show their true colors and how they rule the little guys. After reading all the negative comments It's a wonder they are in business. Great liars, I guess.

A service tech came to the home within the first year and said it’s cosmetic and here is a magic marker to cover it up.... Nice right.... Still happens, keep wiping down the oven before I use it, now the entire bottom is peeling and chipping bubbling.... Again service person comes out... "Cosmetic. I can give you a marker." Now I’m onto social media, and Jenn-Air responded immediately but their remedy is unacceptable: "We will send you a marker." I want Jenn-Air to tell me in writing that it’s safe to cook with paint floating around the oven and then safe to eat the food, not cancer causing. To be honest I don’t want this garbage in my home.

My Jenn-Air double wall oven had a simple issue with the fan speed. I had a service technician come out several times, each time replacing different parts. Each time they came out the oven was less functional than before. Finally I went with the recommended whirlpool factory service provider, who came out, diagnosed the issue, ordered parts, then never came back. First the parts took weeks to come in. There were scheduled appointments that they just didn’t show up for due to lack of the parts. Finally the parts came in, and they again, didn’t come. I filed a complaint with Jenn-Air, who tells me the company that keeps standing me up is the ONLY company that they can recommend. I see on Yelp that many many people have the same problems as me with this company. I will never buy another Jenn-Air product, and suggest everyone do the same.

I have a $3500 Jenn-Air built in oven. The oven light comes on at night and heats the oven up to around 150 degrees. The appliance companies service department has been at my home no less than 6 times with Jenn-Air on the phone guiding them and they have replaced the motherboard twice and the control panel 2 times. The oven light continues to come on. Jenn-Air first told me to remove the light bulb. Then they told me to keep my circuit breaker off, then they offered me $300. All offers refused! Jenn-Air service reads from a script and tells me "their engineers say they should have a fix in about 2 weeks." They have said this every time I have called, which is about every 2 months for the past year.
Finally, Jenn-Air called my appliance company and said they had a fix and were sending the part. It was installed, yet a new control panel (3rd one). Two weeks later, oven light back on. My appliance company has been dealing with them and getting the same "fix ready in 2 weeks" line. They refuse to replace the oven because the current ones on the sale floor have the same problem! Oh, even though they have spent a year trying to fix the light bulb coming on whenever it wants, they don't know why and can't fix it, but they assure me that is not an "electrical issue that will result in harm or fire".
Funny how they can assume it is not a fire hazard when it’s obvious a wiring/circuit issue that turns off/on by itself... The other issue they won't even address is that the temperature cycle on the oven varies by over 45 degrees. So when set on 400 degrees, the oven won't kick on to reheat until it gets to 355. Then it takes about 8 minutes to get back up to 400. Most ovens have a 15-20 degree cycle. When baking cookies...it’s a big deal! So, don't buy any Jenn-Air built in ovens or you will have years of issues waiting for the fix. Jenn-Air customer service number 800-536-6247.

Purchased double wall ovens 3/2018. On rare occasions the control panel would get steam behind it, it would dissipate and did not cause any functionality issues. Called Jenn-Air to state this and see what to do about it, as it could not be good for the unit and should not Steam the inside of the glass control. I was told that it is not an issue however that there was a recall on my rolling racks and to stop using them immediately.
Forward another 2 months without Steam issues and while cooking chicken wings in the bottom unit on regular bake not even convection, the whole control panel steamed not just a small portion. I did not open the doors to peek inside while cooking. The unit froze up, turned itself off and gave an error screen that said F2/E1 stuck shorted key. Jenn-Air said they are not responsible as it is an “older” model even though we purchased new less than a year ago. And to contact the appliance dealer to go through their warranty department. Really? We had a prior Jenn-Air model that was 28 yrs old. Worked wonderfully still but I wanted double ovens rather than a tiny single when we remodeled. I would not recommend their appliances anymore. Our model is a jjw3830. I wish I would have looked at reviews before selecting an oven with a touch screen.

Similar experience to many people writing reviews for this product. My oven is just over 3 years old and I already need to replace a $1300 Control Panel. That is over 20% of the price of the oven itself. What appears to be the issue with the oven is it vents heat/steam from the top of the oven door - just below the electronic control panel. Moments before I received the F2E1 error I noticed that condensation from the vent was collecting behind the control panel's glass cover. What a ridiculous design.

I've had this product for about six years. From day one, it started acting up. From the probe saying it's malfunctioning to the main control board going out (several times). I've had this repaired so many times I cannot count. After my warranty expired, I started paying to have it repaired. I finally got tired of wasting my money, waiting for repairmen to come and worrying if they were going to scratch my product, my floor or my cupboards so I quit calling them. My lower oven seems to work okay now but the top microwave hasn't worked in years. I had to go out and buy a microwave and put it into a storage closet off my laundry room because I do not like microwaves sitting on my kitchen counter. It's a pain and embarrassing when visitors ask me why I'm going into a closet in my laundry room to use my microwave, but at least I have a working microwave.
I've contacted Jenn-Air and all I wanted was to be able to purchase one wholesale from them. They wouldn't honor my simple request. I also got a new KitchenAid dishwasher at the same time and the rinse aid dispenser no longer works. Glad my refrigerator is a Sub-Zero and my stove is a Decor! Otherwise they wouldn't be working either! This is really a disappointment.

Purchased Jenn-Air wall oven JJW2427DB, it was installed Sept. 2017. With little use since purchase, not being used for at least a month, and while not being used at the time, the oven suddenly began beeping with error code F2E1. I called Jenn-Air for service and received a confirmation. I researched the company they assigned and found... The company is two hours away on a good day, has a "F" rating with the Better Business Bureau and have countless complaints of poor service and poor treatment of customers. Big red flag... Why would they use such a company?
While on phone with the service rep. I asked about an extended warranty letter and email I had received. The rep. told me that these renewal notices are "garbage - throw them away - they are not with Jenn-Air - they are with AIG". She said I would get much better service renewing the warranty with Jenn-Air. Although the warranty she offered was more expensive ($956.25) I agreed to purchase an extended warranty for all three appliances purchased in Sept. 2017 for 5 yrs. When I received an email receipt, the very fine print at the bottom of the page said that the warranty is "sold and issued by AIG" and directed me to call AIG rather than Jenn-Air for future service issues. Feeling deceived and duped I called Jenn-Air again within hours of my first call.
I spoke to a second rep. and canceled the extended warranty purchase until I can do more research. As a senior, I really feel like the first rep. lied and attempted to take advantage of me. I also explained my concern with the assigned service company. The rep. subsequently rescheduled with the local Jenn-Air retailer I made my purchase from. Odd, why wasn't this in the beginning. I have since heard from the local service company who is very aware of the error code and the part needed. The part is now on order and the repair is still pending. Disappointed - I thought Jenn-Air was more reliable and reputable than this. Reviewing these complaints my scenario appears to be the norm.

The range is 13 years old, but in that time I have experienced the problems I see are commonly reported: broken heating elements, defective burner ignition. Very dissatisfied with what I thought would be a sound appliance. Also, charging $330 for a control panel which has an obvious history of defect is unconscionable.

When I called Jenn-Air I was told the stovetop had already been discontinued so the grates were unable to be replaced. The warranty company offered me 1000.00 towards the purchase of a new stovetop - unacceptable as this was a built in and a custom made counter especially for this size stove top that was no longer available. Jenn-Air offered nothing. I still have the same rusted deteriorated grates on my stove top. Second appliance - my double ovens are less than 10 years old and the interior has warped and cracked - really?
I have posted pictures on social media and nobody has even ever heard or seen anything like this before. After two weeks our conclusion is the oven works fine but the microwave keeps shorting out causing the unit to shut down. The Jenn-Air technician returned two days later and left claiming the unit was fine. We tried to use the unit again shortly after he left and it shorted out and the unit shut down. The Jenn Air technician returned 2 days later and said he did not know what the problem was.
We called our electrician and he confirmed everything was fine. To be sure I asked him to install a new 40 Amp breaker. The same problem occurred. The problem is coming from the shared motherboard. Jenn-Air said they would send the technician back again. Unfortunately the technician did not show up neither did he call... we called Jenn-Air customer support and they did not have an explanation as to why he did not come... We purchased the Jenn-Air Electric In-Wall Oven Model JJW243WP02 as part of a package including a range and refrigerator. Very sorry we did. After two years of light use, the control board failed while roasting cherry tomatoes giving us a message F2E1: Stuck/Shorted Key. Because the Jenn-Air unit is out of warranty, we called a reputable service technician who knew right away that the control board would have to be replaced without touching the unit because he has seen so many of these fail. The unit vents heat and moisture from the oven right below the control pad, which eventually destroys the circuitry. He told us Bosch wall units vent from the bottom, and he's never been called out to replace a control panel on a Bosch.
Fortunately, the part has a 5-year warranty, probably because Jenn-Air/Whirlpool knows that this is a serious design flaw, and given the cost of the part, consumers were justifiably livid that such an expensive oven would suffer such a serious defect. So we called the 800 number and were directed to Whirlpool Factory Service. They told us that the unit was out of warranty without telling us that the part was still covered, apparently in hopes of duping us into paying the $1000-$1500 for the part alone, plus the labor, which they estimate at over $100. That started another saga.
It has now been nearly a month and still no service. Instead, Whirlpool scheduled a date to fix it, then didn't show even though my spouse stayed home from work to let them in. When she called for an ETA, Whirlpool's tech, Todd, told her that the part hadn't arrived yet. No apology from Whirlpool. So my spouse rescheduled to a date 9 days later, when I stayed home from work. Three hours into the 4-hour window for the service call, my spouse texted Todd the service tech. No response. After 5.5 hours of waiting at home I left Todd a voice message, and he never responded to that, either. Finally, I called the 800 number, and was told by Ebony that the first service call had to be rescheduled because Whirlpool incorrectly ordered the part, not because it was late arriving, as Todd had told my spouse when she called after the first aborted service visit!
In addition, Ebony, to her credit, told me that the notes in their file stated that Whirlpool waited a full week after the first aborted service visit to order the correct part, and that it wouldn't arrive for another week, so they had reschedule the second visit without telling us! Ebony tried to transfer my call to Ross, her manager, but she discovered that their phone system was malfunctioning and couldn't transfer calls. She promised that a manager, Ross, would call me back within half an hour. An hour and a half later, I called and Ebony told me that the manager Consuela, not Ross, had left early that day! But she told me that the part had arrived and she was working diligently to get a service tech out that day, and she would call by 4:00 when her shift ended to let me know the status.
At 4:10 I called AGAIN, and was told by Sandy that Ebony was mistaken, the part had NOT arrived yet. I also learned to my dismay that Ebony had not made any notes documenting my prior calls, so I pleaded with Sandy, to please take and enter notes of what had happened to my spouse and I so we didn't have to explain every time we called back. She said she took detailed hand-written notes so she could enter it in after the call. I hope she did, because I do not want to have to relate this all over again the next time I have to call. Sandy also told me that Consuela would call me on Monday to hear my complaint. She also gave me the address of Whirlpool's corporate office so I can send a letter and demand that Whirlpool cover the cost of the labor to fix their defective product after bungling two service calls.
So, after two missed days of work and over a month without a functional wall oven that cost over $2500, Whirlpool STILL hasn't fixed the issue. I am searching to see if there is a class action lawsuit we can join or perhaps initiate against Whirlpool, both for its fraudulent marketing of a product with a known defect that they will not cover, for its fraudulent attempt to dupe us into paying for the part, which costs more than half the full cost of the unit, and finally for two days of wasted time waiting for their service technician when they had, without informing us, cancelled the service calls because of their own incompetence.

A Jenn-Air appliance package was included in a new house which I moved into in April 2014. In just over 2 years we have had multiple problems with several of the appliances. We've had problems with the microwave unit, the refrigerator, and the cooktop. But the most recent problems have been with the Oven Unit (model JJW3830WP02), which started giving a failure code in May or June 2016. The failure code indicated that the upper fan unit needed to be replaced, which took several weeks for the part to be ordered and received. It was replaced on 7/12/16. We started getting the same failure code less than 6-months later, just before the holidays (when we were expecting large family gatherings). Again, the upper fan unit was diagnosed to be replaced.
Again, it took a few weeks for the part to come in and it was replaced again today (1/6/17); but I have no confidence that the unit won't fail again in another 6 months. It appears to me that Jenn-Air engineers appliances to fail, so that they can continue making money on replacement parts and service. I will never recommend Jenn-Air products to family and friends, let alone buy another product from you.

In 2012, we had to replace the keypad and control panel for about $900 because the controls stopped working. Then the new control panel needed to be immediately replaced because it was bad too even before it was installed. From day one: The clock runs slow. Grease gets in between the glass on the door and can't be cleaned. The door doesn't close correctly. We can't use the self-clean function, because the heat will kill the control panel.
Then recently, the oven began to shut off randomly during preheat or full bake, both with convection and regular bake functions. Also, the vent fan would randomly not work, and whenever we turned it on, we got a "Warming Drawer" message on the panel - and there is NO WARMING DRAWER on this unit! So the control panel was replaced AGAIN for another $500. The problem continued, still random shut off during heating etc. Now, the repairman says we need ANOTHER keypad and control panel ($900 again). I am beyond frustrated. We replaced a Jenn-Air oven in the house we bought with a $5,000 Jenn-Air oven/microwave five months ago; and it's now a dangerously, defective unit that Jenn-Air customer service will not fix or replace. When my kids make EZ-Mac or my wife steams veggies, the steam causes the computer control panel to randomly change temperatures and turn on/off. This includes randomly turning on/off and changing temperatures for a significant amount of time after we try to but cannot turn it off.
A week ago, my wife tried to roast veggies, and the oven turned itself up to 550 degrees (max. temperature) before shutting itself off after 20 minutes without any ability to turn it back on. Separately, I have recorded on video the microwave pressing random buttons and turning on and off by itself more than 15 minutes after I had prepared some mac and cheese.
Jenn Air had us bring out techs on two separate occasions. The first tech told us this is a significant issue and that Jenn Air had already discontinued the model despite it being new when we bought it, and he said there is no fix. After the second tech came out, he also said there was nothing to do other than replace the unit. I'm not sure what they reported back to Jenn Air but we just received an e-mail indicating that they reviewed our video evidence and they say that the performance is in spec!
I'm contacting a lawyer tomorrow as this thing is going to burn my house down... especially if one of my middle school children uses it when my wife and I aren't home and don't know to open the oven and microwave door after using to prevent it from turning on. I will never buy Jenn Air again - both because of the poor, poor quality and the even worse customer service. If anybody wants to see videos, I'm happy to share them.

I purchased a 48" Jenn-Air gas range with griddle during a year-end appliance sale. The vendor held the range for me until my kitchen was ready. It was installed in May of 2015. At the beginning of December I began experiencing problems with the range. The right oven gave an error message that stated the device was experiencing problems and could no longer be used. I called the vendor and they arranged for an appliance repair company to set up an appointment. It took 10 days for them to come look at the oven, another week to get the part, and then the day they were supposed to install the part I received a phone call telling me that Jenn-Air sent the wrong part and it would be another week. I called Jenn-Air and they sent me a part overnight. The repair company called and said Jenn-Air had overnighted them a part also. So...they came out and replaced the part.
The repairman had been gone for ~10 minutes when the error message appeared again. After many phones calls I was able to get Jenn-Air to replace the range. I have now had the new range for ~30 days and I got another error message reading the same. They came out, ordered a part, came back to install, and guess what? They were sent the wrong part. So now I am waiting again for repair. Bottom line here is that I am trying to return the range to the vendor so I can get rid of the Jenn-Air. I am waiting on phone calls now. This range also has a stainless griddle that supposedly stick free. It is not. Everything sticks to the surface. It now hold my spices and oils since it doesn't work as advertised. I will never purchase another Jenn-Air product again. Worse appliance I have ever had. It is too bad since it has 6 burners, 2 ovens, and a griddle. Not much good when it doesn't function properly. So...buyer beware!!!

5 burner double oven. I love it because it's a gas cook top and the ovens are electric. The smaller, upper oven is perfect for two people and I have the larger for crowds. The larger oven has a proofing and drying feature and also convection!!! I love the versatility. The only thing I don't like on the cook top, there is a lid at the back which limits the size pan you can use on the back burners. I bought mine on craigslist. I cleaned it up and it's awesome. I want something to be a good value and last. I love my Jenn-Air. I bought it for $350 off of craigslist. They don't make this model anymore so I can't really steer anyone to a particular model. Jenn-Air dual fuel range, the cooktop is gas and the ovens are electric. I chose it for that reason plus it has two ovens - a large one on the bottom and a smaller one on top. Love the smaller oven on top. I use it most. Love the five burner cooktop with the control dials on the top side. Continue to wonder about the accuracy of the big oven, however, and I have trouble lifting things out of that lower oven. ALWAYS buy a cooktop with dark burner covers or you'll be cleaning it daily. If you have back problems, don't get an oven that practically sits on the floor.
Low quality is a deal breaker, as is unnecessary features (I'm a cook so I know what I need). I want something that looks good but not too 'trendy' so that I'll get tired of it. Also, I look for easy maintenance/cleaning. We paid about $1500 for this Jenn-Air dual fuel range but I have used it heavily and still enjoy using it. It has enough burners, and I love the double oven with the small oven on top.

Just remodeled our Kitchen Nov 2015. I was so excited to have new ovens after 20 years of my old double ovens. I also thought Jenn-Air was top of the line. I used the self-cleaning mode after having my oven 3 weeks. Milk had spilt on the bottom from baking scalloped potatoes. Nowhere in the user guide does it say "When you self clean your oven, it is going to discolor the glass doors and change the color on the bottom of the oven."
I contacted Jenn-Air. I have only had my oven 2 months. They said too BAD. It's not their fault the oven glass is discolored as well as the bottom of the oven. I am ready to cry... I now have to look at this dirty glass and discolored bottom for the next 20 years... So beware it's a design flaw. Any smoke will get between the 2 panels of glass and there is no way to clean them unless you pay for a service man to clean them. 2nd, never use your self-cleaning mode because it ruins your oven. Googling the internet, I found out that when this particular oven self cleans it overheats the control panel's circuit board. There is heat shielding around the circuit board. The oven did not work at all by Feb 2012, so I called them and they were nice enough to replace the control panel so long as I paid for the installation fee.
Apparently, as the oven cooks, heat escapes through the top of the door and into the electronic component behind the control panel, causing condensation and thus ruining the delicate components in the panel. Oops. (I'm tempted to make a sexist comment here re: engineering, but I'll resist). Fast forward to now, Oct 2015, and the entire oven won't work AGAIN. Only the stove-top burners will work.
I called the company again and they were once AGAIN kind enough to replace the control panel, which retails for just over $400! VERY generous. After a few back and forth calls to them and their two approved service companies, all I have to pay for is the installation fees to the repair company. This should happen soon. This story is to be continued. I'm sure our oven will go out again in 2 1/2 years, but by then, we will be prepared to replace it with another $2 or 3K oven! (Guess what brand we won't be buying...)

I paid about $2500 in 2005 for this electric Jenn-Aire range and all its bits and pieces. About four years ago (right after the five year warranty expired) the touch pad stopped working: the lower row of numbers would not work at all and some of the cooking features would not work. I didn't get it repaired because with creative button pushing, I could get it to work adequately for my needs.
Two days ago (the range is now about nine years old) the oven turned itself on and heated up very, very hot, enough to set off a smoke alarm. The display on the touch pad did not indicate any temperature or oven setting; just the time. The "Cancel" button did not stop the oven, and I had to unplug it to stop it. I was lucky that I was home when this happened. Yesterday and today when I plugged the range in to use a burner, the oven turned itself on again, but this time at a lower heat setting.
Obviously, this oven is not safe. According to various Internet accounts that I have read, this is a known problem for this range, both all-electric model and the electric-gas hybrid. One owner had the board replaced, and two weeks later the oven was turning itself on again. It would probably cost hundreds to replace the board and touch pad. This is the worst appliance purchase I have ever made. I thought for the name brand and the price that I would get a range that would work, and safely, for twenty years. Don't laugh. Our home was built in 2004 and included Jenn-Air appliances. The electric cook top is fine - we have had no problems with it. The microwave is nice. The refrigerator and ovens are terrible. We extended the kitchen area in 2007 and added another Jenn-Air oven/convection oven. In 2007 everything in the lower half of the refrigerator started freezing. We had two repairmen out who were unable to fix the problem. We finally purchased every part we could find and rebuilt the refrigerator. It works ok, but doesn't keep things very cold. If it is turn it up, everything freezes. The ovens are the worst. Nothing gets done. I've almost given up trying to bake.

Just sixteen months after having my new double wall convection oven installed, I noticed a build up of oven grease on the inner glass which sits between the exterior and interior oven door panel. Since I had purchased a 5 year extended warranty, I called the company to report the problem. I was told that it could be taken care of but since this is a "cosmetic issue" and does not affect the way the oven works, it is not covered under the warranty. Not happy with that, I contacted Jenn Air directly. After multiple calls to various Jenn Air reps, I was told that they could send an authorized technician to the house to assess the situation, but that I would be charged for the labor and any parts they would need to replace.
I told Jenn Air that I consider it a "design flaw" because it is impossible to prevent oven grease from adhering to the interior glass. I next wrote to the executive office of Jenn Air. Several weeks later, I received an inane reply saying that it was not possible to tell why this happened in my case and regardless of the cause that it is would not be covered under the extended warranty! Furious, I then contacted Appliance World of Long Island where I had purchased the $4200 product sixteen months ago. The Sales Manager referred my issue to his Jenn Air rep. About a month later, after I again followed up, I finally got a message from someone at Jenn Air saying that as a "one time courtesy" they agreed to dispatch an authorized Jenn Air servicer to the house at their cost.
When the technician arrived, he took the door panel apart but stated that the only way to resolve the problem would be to get a replacement interior glass. The tech returned last Thursday to install the replacement glass, however, he remarked that the problem will likely happen again! Since as the technician explained this problem will recur, I maintain that this is truly a product flaw in its design. So, not only do I find it unacceptable that this will most likely happen again, my only recourse will be to have the glass panel replaced AND at my expense!! Why should a customer who buys a "top of the line oven" expect to need to replace the interior oven glass on a regular basis?! What's that about?
I am very unhappy about my recent experience dealing with Jenn Air. Yes they finally and reluctantly sent a service provider to address my problem, but I felt they did not acknowledge there is a problem with their product. I previously owned a $700 GE Profile for many years and confirm that the condition of the interior glass door was as clear on the last day as it was on the day it was installed. There was no grease build up!

The control panel on these units gets moisture and burns out. We have replaced it 3 times in 4 years - 2 times under the extended warranty. Part cost about $400. 4 time and you can buy a new unit. Others I talked to have same problem. There is no factory upgrade, but keep buying new parts. The only good thing is you can do the repair yourself easily. Also the gas knobs break very easily and cost about $24 each. Better to go to Target and get a full set for $15.

Purchased a $5,000 Jenn-Air Double Oven with microwave/convection oven on top. The convection oven works like a toaster oven. Once the oven gets to temperature and the menu says to insert food, the oven stops working. In order to cook, you must CANCEL the oven, and then reset all the temperature settings. Reminds me of a $20 toaster oven. Whirlpool claims the oven is operating properly even though they had previously claimed this was a software issue, which it appears to be.

I have had a Jenn-Air oven for 30 years with no problems. Unfortunately, I will never have another Jenn-Air due to a ridiculous setting that is put on their new ovens. I am a supporter of all religious groups and their individual beliefs; however, I don't think an oven should have an internal setting that keeps it from operating during times when certain religions don't approve of cooking. Several months ago I walked into my kitchen on a Friday and there was a strange message on my digital readout on the oven and the oven wouldn't come on. I thought it was a series of letters and numbers of which I copied down and called customer service. When I read them to the representative, she said "Oh, that is for the Jewish Sabbath. Our ovens are set for that and your oven might have been tripped if the electricity went out and came back on." I thought that she was kidding and told her I had never heard of such a thing.
If a religion forbids cooking, why don't they just not use the oven? She told me how to hold my finger on the clock until it started blinking and then it would go back to a normal setting. I did this and it worked; however, it has continued to happen several times during weekends. I asked her if the oven planned to sing "Merry Christmas" on Dec. 25th or other religious holidays. She didn't have a response for that question. It is irritating to have to stand over the oven on weekends and make sure that it comes on or worse, to have to keeping working with the clock until I can override the Sabbath setting.

Convection oven electric panel (Model # JDS9860AAW) - This will be third time I've had to pay $300 for the same part. (Part only since I'm lucky enough to have my son replace the faulty part.) The electrical panel on the front of my convection oven starts with loss of use for one or more buttons so if you want to put the oven on at 350 and you lose use of the 5 and the 0, you need to punch in 348 and it will read it as 350 for a few times. After that, it starts beeping at any random moment and won't stop and when you try to push cancel or any bottom in hopes of stopping it, it will then send a text message in the panel to call an authorized dealer and gives you an 800 number to call for a local dealer.
You can't purchase just the electric panel itself, you end up with the entire 3 foot metal piece, including the knobs. Then you either take apart the oven yourself or need to call someone to install it. Jenn-Air reps act like this is the first time they have heard about such a problem and say if they had many complaints then by law would have to recall the part. Reading all the same complaints here over and over again about this part proves they are lying and not owning up to their responsibility for a product they know makes them more money in replacements parts than the original price of their oven. Never would I buy a product made by them again.

Jenn-Air put me in touch with a service person who indicated he couldn't fix it (it is no longer made) but showed me how to take it apart. It seems the front panel is mounted to the door of the microwave with glue!
The glue remains pliable, but it appears that an insufficient amount was used when this unit was manufactured, or it has shrunk to the point that both the mounting device for the door have come off. The technician recommended how to fix it, and I will likely take his advice. I have a Jenn-Air self-cleaning wall oven (Model W131) that works fine, but when it turns off, the F-1 code and beeps start on the control panel. If I turn it back on and bake, it works fine, but as soon as I turn it off or sometimes later, the F-1 code shows up with beeps until I cut it off at the circuit breaker. I have replaced the control panel three times on the recommendation from Jenn-Air to their approved repairmen, and don't think that is the fix at all. Each time has been expensive, approximately $400 the last time, and I am reluctant to change it again since it has never been the fix. The repairman said he thought it was the thermostat or fan, and yet, when he called the tech support, they said to replace the control panel again. I cannot see doing this, given it hasn't worked before.
I phoned Jenn-Air customer service and they said I cannot talk with a technician, and that they only talk with repairmen. I saw on the internet that other people have had similar problems, and am wondering what can be done. I find it very frustrating that what I thought was a good product has turned out to be such a lemon, and am appalled that the customer service reps and the company are not more responsive. The customer service representative actually laughed at one point when I said I felt I should be able to discuss the matter with a technician.
I have looked into purchasing another oven, but the Jenn-Air is the only one that fits my custom cabinetry. Plus, by the time I would have it installed, it will be about $2,700. I do not like the idea of replacing an oven that works fine (cook options, temperature, timers, etc.) but for the beeping when I turn it off. Replacing the control panel yet again when it hasn't fixed it makes no sense to me. The authorized repairman said there is no safety issue to consider. Never in my life had I thought Jenn-Air would be so unresponsive and not allow customers to discuss their problems. Any ideas on what to do would be greatly appreciated.

At times the oven will even turn on its own. After numerous calls to the warranty dept. they finally showed up and changed the computer module. Several months later, the buzzing started all over again. I contacted the service dept. and they stated that my contract does not cover the buzzing noise. Dissatisfied, I did not renew my contract.
Now, 6 months later, while my wife was wiping the top of the range, the buzzing and the ignition started on its own. All burners turned on immediately and shut off and the flames started from the rear. Fortunately for us, I was able to extinguish the fire and contain it to the oven. I contacted Jenn-Air. They sent a safety Tech which resulted in that there was a defect since day 1. The insulation in the oven was making contact with the metal wire igniters, a FACTORY DEFECT. However, we need a down draft because our slide in oven is in an island that cannot have a hood over it and Jenn-Air seems to be the only game in town on that. We love the look of the new oven but yesterday after only 4 months, the entire front panel quit working. Nothing!

Many adjustments were made - the meat probe was replaced (it did not work even the first time I used it), controls were replaced, and the temps were tested. The thermostat in the brand new warming drawer had to be replaced because it was burning food. After approximately 2 years of repairs and frustration in dealing with the company, the ovens were replaced after the bottom door fell off and shattered on the floor when my husband took something out of the oven.
That woke them up a little. The new ovens worked, but the temperature varies wildly from set temp and nothing browns unless you over cook it. After much expense and many repairs that didn't work, my refrigerator with the giant waterfall sculpture in the freezer (not intended to be there by us) was replaced, but I had to pay a big extra chunk of money because they did not have one available without the dispenser on the door. Knowing all the trouble I had with all their appliances, they couldn't have a little heart and throw that in. I could not wait several months for my model to be ready. My dream kitchen is beautiful and my replacement refrigerator and warming drawer work now. I almost never use the ovens because results are so unpredictable. In May 2008, we purchased a Jenn-Air electric smooth-top stove model #JER8885RAF for about $1,200 based on favorable reviews in Consumer Reports. We really like the stove - dual timers, changeable size burners, easy to clean and use. However, the location of the control panel is a significant design flaw. Since it is located on the back of the stove above the cooking surface, the electronic control components fail due to moisture or water vapor from day-to-day normal cooking. We had the entire control panel replaced in November 2010, because the cooking surface and clock would not work. I'm so thankful that we purchased the extended warranty.
The repair technician said that without the warranty, the repair cost would have been about $500. Well it's almost 2 years later and neither the timers nor the clock functions. I have called for repairs and suspect that the control panel needs to be replaced again. We looked at a similar stove currently displayed on Jenn-Air's website. The location of the control panel has been moved to the face of the stove above the oven door, probably to avert the problem I've described above. I think that this type of stove should be recalled because of how dangerous it is to clean the glass. You have to take it apart and it is so hard to clean. You need to try to get the two pieces of glass back in by yourself. The first time it happened, they had a repairman come and this guy needs me to help him get the two pieces of glass back onto the door. I wasn't getting paid; he was! They should have made the glass a sealed unit. The glass always looks dirty because you can't just clean the front and back of the glass--the condensation and any type of spattering ends up in between. If I had know the stove was always going to look dirty and if I wanted to clean it and I was going have that much trouble doing it, I would never have bought it! I related this to the dealer we were purchasing our oven from and he said that was nonsense. I wanted to cancel the order and he really didn't want me to - so much so that the dealer paid for the 5 year extended warranty. Foolish us, we didn't extend the warranty after the 5 years. I cannot find replacement parts for a stove that is 7 years old. Whirlpool washes their hands of it as the warranty period has expired. I have been waiting for a burner valve since May 2011. Every time I contact a vendor, they say it is in stock. Then, after following it up with them, they state that the part is on national back order and won't be available until sometime in 2012. Jenn-Air, who has been bought out by Whirlpool, will not assist me in either finding a part to fix a perfectly good stove or replacing the existing one. These Jenn-Air appliances are billed as top of line. Yet, the service after the sales does not exist.

We bought a Jenn-Air wall oven two years ago. I have had problems with the unit from the moment it was put in the house. And for two years, Jenn-Air has delayed and replaced parts to avoid admitting that the unit is unrepairable, so they would not have to replace it. Most recently, they have told me that the unit is out of warranty, despite the fact that the problem is the same as when we began dealing with it two years ago. I have been treated rudely by customer service reps and customer service supervisors. You should avoid all Jenn-Air products at all costs. And if you think that your experience will be different, call a good appliance repairman in your area. He will begin telling you of the countless horror stories about Jenn-Air. I hope this saved you some money and headaches.

On May 30, 2011, the glass in top oven of my Jenn-Air double wall oven exploded all over my kitchen, glass was on the counter top, on my cook top, had gone into the family room and a shard of glass embedded itself in my toaster. I talked to three individuals at Jenn-Air who were not concerned at all about the safety problem this represents. If one of my grandchildren was walking by at the time, it would have been a disaster.
I did take digital pictures and all the people I have shown them to so far are appalled that an appliance such as this could do something like this. As far as I am concerned this is totally unacceptable to me. Therefore, I am writing to the president and CEO of Whirlpool, and hoping for a resolution from him. There are many more oven such as mine out there and the potential for physical damage is great in my opinion. On your blog I noticed another individual who had the same problem; therefore, I was lied to by Tabitha, the Senior Specialist who told be there was no incident like mine ever reported. What a travesty.
I will take this as far as I can because of the safety factor and will continue to do all I can to help safeguard this from happening to someone else. People who own these oven need to be aware of the potential failure of the glass panels. Now my question is this: What is Jenn-Air going to do about this?

I hope I can help someone else with their Jenn-Air wall oven (JMW9530DAS) that has a problem with faulty hinges.
I purchased a Jenn-Air wall oven/microwave unit, model # JMW9530DAS, in 2005. Like a lot of people, I was very excited to buy a "top of the line" appliance, and thought it would be a great selling point when it came to sell my home. The oven part of the unit has been a big problem for several years. The door never shut properly, took forever to heat-up (and sometimes never really did), and the door actually fell off 3 or 4 times. When this occurred in November 2010, I was told by the company that they no longer made the hinges for this specific model, but I could probably order hinges for the model that replaced mine! I was very hesitant to do this, as no one could assure me that this would work.
I have spent money on 2 hinge sets, and also service charges for the repairman to come just to put the door on. The door just came off again this past weekend. I was getting so frustrated and nervous that I would have to replace the oven and be done with this problem, once and for all. A friend suggested we Google the problem and try to find another supplier for hinges. We found The Appliance Zone and ordered 2 hinge sets (the hinge and bracket). The cost of the two sets was $63.00, plus tax and delivery. It is a Whirlpool part, # 12002489. I had a friend help me (very heavy door) and replaced the hinge/brackets in about an hour.
When removing the old hinges, I could tell that the springs were stretched and badly worn. I doubt they were ever very effective. It’s because now, with the new hinge set, the door closes better than it ever has. It has a tight close. It has enough tension to hold itself in the part-open position. It pre-heats very quickly, and cooks so well. I don't remember this oven ever performing like this! I hope this helps someone, because I know all the aggravation (and money) that I went through. Like a lot of the other complaints I read, Jenn-Air was never a help, and I would probably not buy from them again. I spent a small fortune on 5 high-end appliances, and I do not think they were worth the money. Next time I will "research" to find good appliances and not go on "a name".

Purchased model JJW9627CAB double wall oven. Same complaints as others here. Doors don't close well, so oven lights always on. Control panel has now gone for the second time. Costs $210.00 for the part, not including installation. Vents in the doors allow dust to settle on glass windows inside. Looks horrible and can't be fixed without taking doors apart, which doesn't help the door closing situation.
Very disappointed with this product. Junk in my opinion. Will never buy this brand again.

On Feb.8, 2000 I had to call for service because F-1 was flashing. They did nothing but hit control button and charged a service charge. On Aug 12, 2003 Tigerair Appliance checked and ordered new touch panel which they installed Aug.23 ,2003 at a charge of $312.67. On Aug. 27, 2007 Homepro Appliance installed another new touch panel at a cost of $249.99, then again on Feb 10, 2010 Eastside Appliance replaced the touch panel at a cost of $354.94.
In August of 2010, it began flashing again. I called Eastside Appliance again and they claim it had a 90-day warranty and they could do nothing except charge me once again for yet another touch panel. I am an 84-year old widow and I have invested a total of $1886.34 in this oven in 16 years. I feel this is outrageous for a supposedly top-of-the line appliance and that it should be made right or replaced entirely at the company's expense.

We purchased leather couch and chair from one of the Manhattan stores in 2007 and added the protection plan to it as well. It is now about 2.5 years later, and all of our couch pillows are peeling, the small tears are spreading real quick and getting larger. The chair pillows don't show anywhere yet, as the chair gets very little use. We have no kids, and no pets getting on the furniture, nor we ever used any chemicals or else to clean the couch. When the first tear appeared earlier this summer, I took it to a leather repair store to get fixed and found out that the material is actually not real leather.
When I called the store's customer service, they confirmed that we did purchase a leather product. However, after a little discussion on the type of leather, they confirmed it is actually man-made 'bonded' leather that only contains certain % of real leather. The protection plan we purchased with the sofa of course doesn't cover peeling or regular wear, and the store itself only provides warranty for 1 year. They provide no guarantee to their product beyond the one year and left us with no options. We now have a 2.5 year old leather sofa that is peeling all over and will have to go and purchase a new one.

These very expensive ($4150) ovens have been a problem from the first day. First, the ovens they sent out and installed were not what we had ordered. We were told they were "doing us a favor as these are better." Then we were told we had to run them at top heat until some kind of "finish burns off." We were nearly asphyxiated for a month. Finally, the dealer sent someone out who discovered two pieces each in the back of both ovens, yellow plastic which melted all over the ovens. He had no idea what it was or why it was there. He replaced the back panels in both ovens but not the damaged oven floor.
The ovens have never been able to maintain the selected temperature, frequently dropping as much as 50 degrees and sometimes would not reheat. We were told by two of the dealer's people that we were using them incorrectly, i.e. we could not set the timer after we touched the start button. We have been following his instructions to the letter. Today we couldn't even warm some bread. The oven shut off and showed a message stating that the oven had a problem and could not be used. I want these ovens replaced before the warranty expires, but the dealer is stalling me. I will never buy another Jenn-Air product as long as I live.

I too, thought I was buying quality when I bought Jenn-Air. I don't think so! Aside from problems we had with the appliance company that we bought it from breaking the door glass while in lay-away and not getting a replacement for months, now the oven isn't working right. I talked to someone at the Jenn-Air (800 number) and they told me the E9 code I got has something to do with the control panel but she couldn't tell me what. What good is an error code if it doesn't tell you what the problem is? She gave me the name of an "authorized" repair person, but that is a company I have heard nothing good about.
I just know the panel doesn't read the correct temperature and I've had to resort to putting a wood stove thermometer in the oven. I've had to set the oven temperature to 500 degrees to even get it up to 350, and that took almost an hour. I haven't had flame ups or fires yet, but now, after reading the previous recent complaints, I'm kind of afraid to do that again. I'm going to try to find someone, authorized or otherwise, to look at it and I will post what if anything I find out.

I purchased the extended warranty so the replacement cost has been covered although the latest renewal of the warranty has a cap on the total cost of repairs over the life of the contract.
It appears likely that one of two situations exist: (1) There is a design flaw in the control panel itself, or (2) there are quality control problems in the manufacture of this part. Either way, Jenn-Air/Maytag/Whirlpool seem to be disinterested in fixing this problem at source.

Although this appliance is 10 years old, my complaint rises from the fact that a defective new part caused an old part to go out and I think Jenn-Air is responsible for this which they denied. This started in 2005 when the clock display started going dim and eventually over the next few months, just went out. I called Sears service and they replaced the unit with a new one, which I paid for with no problem. Now fast forward to early 2009 when the same thing began to happen again and went out in December.
This time, I called Jenn-Air directly and talked with them and said it seems strange that the very same thing would happen again. They instructed me to have a service technician diagnose the exact problem and if indeed the clock is bad, they would sell me a new one for half price which I thought was fair. I asked the Jenn-Air person (Christy at the time) who they recommend I call and she said Appliance & Refrigeration Hospital. I called them and Chris came out on December 22 and said yes, the clock was bad. He himself called Jenn-Air from our kitchen and told them the clock was bad. In order to get the new part at half price, I had to order directly from Jenn-Air.
I paid for the part immediately over the phone and it took until the end of February to get the part because they were out of stock. Chris came back the end of February to install the new clock and when he did, it caused the relay panel to go out. He called Jenn-Air and explained to them that the clock was faulty to begin with and this caused the relay to go out. Jenn-Air replaced the clock at no charge but charged me $84.79 for a new relay. I didn't want to fight with them at the time because now, the ovens were totally shut down until we could get a new relay installed. A week later on March 5th, Chris installed a new clock and a new relay board and everything is working fine.
Today (March 10), I called Jenn-Air and spoke with Mandy and told her I expected Jenn-Air to reimburse me the $84.79 for the relay plus the $75 in labor for them to come back out. Her comment was the relay was back to begin with, so that is not their fault. But when Appliance Hospital told me the reason the relay went out was because the clock was faulty to begin with and that cause a short in the relay. Anything you can do to help me get my $159.79 back would be appreciated.

Had I known this, I would have gone and bought a cheap stove for $300 and would get much more use out of it. Jenn-Air needs to stand behind what they sell for the price we paid. We finally discovered in the back of both ovens pieces of some yellow sticky stuff that is melting and running down onto the floor of the ovens. The technician sent out by the dealer said that he has never seen anything like this before. His only suggestion is to keep heating the ovens until it is all burned off.
This is outrageous. What are they putting in these ovens and why? We are all choking and coughing and freezing and are probably being poisoned to death by this toxic mess. I don't think this is quality.

After months of insisting for them to come, needless to say, I was happy to hear about this since I had spend $3,000 on this oven.
I purchased it in June 2008 and got assistance only on the 24th of December 2008--after arguing and insisting for them to finally come on time for the Christmas dinner. The oven was finally working and then decided to stop working again in May 2009. I got the same treatment and only got someone to come to our house in July 2009. Since we were on vacation at that time, no one was home to receive the Molina/JennAir technician for the repairs.
I called after my vacation and again had to fight and argue in order to get assistance and have someone come back to change again the panel. In December 2009, we are now a month later and the panel again stopped working. And on top of it, we were told for the local Molina store that apparently, we owed them an invoice ($800) for the last repairs--something we were not made aware of. The next the next appointment was 2 weeks later. The parts came and when the repairman came, the touch pad was scratched but he said it would work, so he replaced both the board and the touch pad. It did not work, some of the features worked but not all. He contacted Jenn-Air again. This time, he was told the touch pad was bad. Another was shipped and when it arrived, it was in worse shape than the first one. I called and they sent me two more touch pads.
Two weeks later, he came back to replace the touch pads and the same thing - only a few features worked. He contacted Jenn-Air again and the same thing, ordered more touch pads and stressed that they need to be packaged better. Well two more came, so the repairman came back and same thing - only a couple of features worked. He called Jenn-Air again and this time, after being on the phone for quite some time, Jenn-Air admitted that a bulletin had come out the day before, saying that the board was a discontinued item so they had sent the wrong one, but did not know when a new one would be manufactured. He gave me the supposed new part number.
I called Jenn-Air after he left and spoke with customer service. They told me the part was available. After quite some time, they finally admitted that it was no longer available. I was told they would try to locate a part and if they could not find one, they would exchange the range. Two days later, a part came that was nowhere near anything that would be on my range. When I called, I was told they thought they had sent the right part. After debating with the CSR, I asked to speak to a supervisor. He told me that the part was discontinued and there was not even a distributor any longer for this part. He would process the paperwork to have the range exchanged.
I got a call from the exchange team and yes, they will exchange the range, but since only the parts are under warranty, there would be a prorated fee and the fee would be $500. Since Jenn-Air does not have the parts to fix a range that is less than three years old, I should not be penalized and have to pay $500. They are not holding up their end of the warranty, parts are covered for 5 years.
