Contacted HomeAdvisor and was very satisfied with the professionalism of the contractor and hired him immediately. The results were outstanding - Highly recommend HomeAdvisor.

We have a home in Reno and a second home in Arvada. I have found a business to install shutters, an electrician, plumber, washing machine repairman and attempted to find help for my granite countertop. I have been very pleased with all my hires except the countertop. I made arrangements to meet him in Arvada, in advance of our visit. I sent pictures of what I needed. He assured me he could do it and scheduled an appt. He never showed and didn't answer his phone when I tried to reach him. Very disappointed. I have since thrown the information away. I remember it was just 3 letters in the business name and his name was ** and spoke with a foreign accent.

I have used HomeAdvisor for 4 trades. Hardwood sand and refinishing, painting, plumbing & concrete grinding and staining. The results all exceeded my expectations for ease of use, timelines, cost and great results. I am sold on the process.

He gave me an estimate of $700, reasonable. Got 1/2 way into it (so far I couldn't back out) and demanded $200 more or he wouldn't finish.. I would love to give you an order # but I don't have it, can't you look it up as he should NOT be on your website. He had the nerve to harass me all winter long - I assume for more work - I never answered.

Worked out well. Looked at several different business & locations throughout the area plus on line. Got the right choice - paid a little more but well worth the money. Would use HomeAdvisor again.

Poor Performance of Home Advisor Contractors: I found a few would show up, look at the potential work, leave and NEVER FOLLOW UP saying job too small or they were not interested. I have a loathing of any contractor or service oriented organizations who generally have poor customer service.

I've tried to get in touch with electrical contractors, three different times using HomeAdvisor. To this date, NOT ONE contractor has returned my calls... I'm done with HomeAdvisor.

Back steps and porch - ** kept in contact throughout the process. The replacement steps add to the curb appeal. The work area was spotless when the job was done.

Inspected and tested broken component. Checked on cost of repair part(s). Asked if I wanted to repair or replace.

Not knowing how complex new technology is when converting to dimmable LED lighting system, ** was very knowledgeable and provided valuable advice prior to even meeting with him. He was on time for the job, offered a competitive price, and the area was clean before he left.

I chose to interview 5 companies, two of which were recommended by HomeAdvisor. I chose Chase roofing, one of your recommendations and was very satisfied with their product and performance. They worked through sun, rain, cold then snow and finished the project in one day. I will use HomeAdvisor again when considering other home improvement projects.

Received calls from several vendors. Most wanted to just quote on the phone without measuring/seeing my particular setup. Went with A-Team Garage Doors who did show up, took measurements, and explained the install process and things I needed to do prior to installation of a new door. He showed up on the day and time as promised and completed the install within the estimated time. He checked and rechecked door adjustments and would not leave until I was 100% satisfied. An adjustment was needed a month later and he came out, although it was late, made the adjustment to my satisfaction. My neighbor was so impressed with the service - she just had A-Team replace her garage door.

HomeAdvisor help me for a house cleaner called House Pals, who are excellent workers who do a precise work in cleaning mother. And I love them and we want to tell all, but I just want thank HomeAdvisor for referral. Thank you from our hearts.

I have used HomeAdvisor several times and it really saves a lot of work. I don't have to search for contractors and I get a gauge on their quality and reliability. However, the last time I used them for a pool remodeling and patio replacement job it didn't work out so well. The contractors that were initially paired with me never bothered to make contact with me. Every other time I had used HA the potential contractors have always called within a couple of hours if not minutes. After a few days I attempted to call them. Never could get a hold of them so I left messages.

Contractor fail to show up or call..... found someone else on my own who did an excellent job.

Hired contractor to install window due to dry rot in the window portions. Window was replaced. However, dry rot was overlooked. Initially gave contractor 4 stars but would reassess to four stars.

Great Job! Re-landscaped both my Front and Back yards. Regraded the slope on both yards and added tiered bedding areas on both yards. Re-did my driveway with pavers and added paver walkways around my house and to my shed. Also planted beds with new plants and trees.

I have not had a good experience with this company. The one and only one I did use did a very bad job for me. I have look for other companies with no success. Out of about 5 to 10 request, only one company responded to me. I will never use HomeAdvisor again. One more thing, I posted a review about the company I used and HomeAdvisor removed the review.

I found a contractor to come repair the shower tile that someone fell into. The gentleman came out took a look at gave a very fair quote and saved me money by using the old tile. Painting contractor came in replaced some damaged wood, installed shutters on home and painted in 2 days and I could not be happier. Pricing was very reasonable and very personal. I will always go to HomeAdvisor before hiring any contractor as I have never been too good at this and have always been disappointed. And another good thing there is no charge for this service.

Excellent job by Oceanside! Nice, polite guy. Knows his business. Fast and efficient. I have almost white carpets (NEVER get light colored carpets!!! I bought the house with it...) They look like new. He cLeaned the Berber carpets and they look new. The house smells great. I can not tell you what a pleasure ** was and how good his work is. Highly recommended!

We were looking for an emergency HVAC service, since our central heater had gone out, on one of the worst days when it could've...sub-zero temps outside. No sooner than I hit the 'Submit' button on the screen, my phone was ringing with providers. One couldn't make it right away, the other...was only a few miles away, and promised to come by and take care of it as soon as he was done with what he was working on...and he kept his word! Water hammer problem traced to softener. ** removed the softener under warranty with no charges to us. We've used him in the past and would do so again. He's also recommended by the local homeowners association.

Initially the repair seemed satisfactory. After about three months the door began to jam again. Since it was winter by then and the doors weren't used I did nothing. When spring arrived I called the repairman and scheduled an appointment. He never showed. I did not call back. I haven't pursued the problem now that it's hot. I do not know that the second problem is related to the initial problem.

I went on to HomeAdvisor website. I asked for contractors for both HVAC and home insulation. I was directed to about 5 contractors for both projects. We have used HomeAdvisor to find a roofer after using a number of other methods with unsatisfactory results. Their roofer was excellent and we finally had the issues repaired properly. We also used HomeAdvisor for a carpet installer and found again excellent assistance. This will be where we go first for future needs.

I like the experience of being able to choose the type of service you need on their website first. The contractors I've hired have both been very good at what they do and charge fair prices. I'm very pleased with the services of HomeAdvisor!

We hired professionals through HomeAdvisor several times for various repair jobs for our house. Each and every time the work got done very soon after the request and we always got a reasonable price quote.

Garbage disposal - Very simple to fix, however my renter was clueless. I have done business before with ** checking all appliances in my condo in Fl and doing any work necessary. He is very pleasant, knowledgeable, prompt and efficient. He is my go to guy for these types of repairs for my Fl condo and would highly recommend him to everyone.

Called for Plumbing Work. Tenant had to depart house and plumbers mentioned they would call to return. Never did call but sent a bill for $200.

A first floor bedroom addition with handicapped bathroom and closet. This was started in December and finished by the end of March. Work was done during the worst winter we've had in Maine. Attention to what we wanted and the detail of the work was excellent. We are very happy with the results. We would highly recommend Legacy Home Improvement.

Service Magic/HomeAdvisor sucks, plain and simple. They force customers to get phone responses from their vendors. There is NO OPTION to get e-mail responses. When I called in, they lied to me about this saying that they could set it up on their end, so that I didn't receive phone calls.

New roof - Got 3 prices, took the lowest one. Wish I had never signed the sales contract! The contractor said they would be out in 2 to 3 weeks. Knowing I had a leak, they did not show up to the middle of week 5! I had to put buckets out to try and catch the water. Posted a complaint on the HomeAdvisor site. They pulled it saying that's not what we allow on their site. I emailed them back and said "what you don't allow the truth." Buyer beware!!!

Not sure I will use HomeAdvisor anymore. I put in the jobs I needed done, and hit the Do Not Call button and everyone called anyway. I find this annoying as I would like to investigate the companies being suggested before they start bombarding me with phone calls. After putting in for gutter cleaning I now have a company sending me emails about getting new gutters which I am not interested in. Might be Green Leaf Gutter Company? Then I get emails from HomeAdvisor about my experience before I have had a chance to get the work done. Not happy at all this time around.

The best experience yet! We just hired Outdoor Lighting LLC for landscape lighting for the front of our home. ** and ** did everything we ask of them. They made three trips to our home to set up different ways the lights could be set up. When my husband and I saw the third setup we knew they were on to exactly what we were looking for. As soon as it was dark enough to really see how the lighting looked, I was on the phone telling them "This is it! When can we get on your schedule?" I hired J&K Handyman Service, Crestview, FL to do $10,000 worth of remodel work on a house in Baker, FL. He had 5 star ratings at the time. He required half down, which I paid. It was supposed to be a two week job. He didn't start working on the project until toward the end of the two weeks and then only worked a few hours each day. We had to have him re-do work. He started saying I was making changes. I made two changes. Other things he had to change were because of his oversight and errors.

The plumber was great. He did what he said he would do and in the time he said it would take. The drain was cleared.

I started my business less than a year ago and needed to connect with the public so I paid and joined HomeAdvisor... The very 1st 5 leads they charged me for were bogus job leads and poorly screened at best. One of the leads were requesting borderline illegal work and completely unethical. I was charged for this lead and several others. Home Advisor quoted to me several times "we don't give refunds period!" My best advice is don't give your cc# to them!

We contacted HomeAdvisor for exterior house painting quotes. Three contractors were recommended and we received each of their quotes. Metz painting had the best price and many great references. The owner, Toby Metz, and his helper, ** arrived on the first day and completed an amazing caulking and repair job prior to painting... outstanding prep work! In the next several days they completed a two coat paint job that was nothing less than great. Neat, efficient, and professional from day one to finish. Toby and ** were outstanding... no nonsense, just great work! We are completely satisfied with HomeAdvisor's service and Metz painting. We recommend each service very highly.

Requested for someone to clear small portion of property and was only given someone that was out of state. I had no problem with the out of state contractor calling me and he was honest that for the distance it would be costly for him to do the job.

The truth about Homeadvisor leads is very clear when you start receiving them. They get the leads however they can regardless of relevancy. They have take leads from other companies and even them on their own have created third party web pages that collect people's info that they charge you for. Their service is reprehensible and I would love to get my hands on some of the customer service dopes.

Only two people called me and both prices I got were much too high for the project so I went back to the fence com that I used to use. In the past I was always happy with all the people I got from you. If you look back at my history with you, you will see that I have had a lot of jobs done with your people and was always happy before. Sorry about this time.

I had to have an electrical outlet installed so I can activate my HD antenna. ** of Power Improvements, Inc. was the electrician who did the work. He was very professional. Arrived on time, did the work and left the work area clean. If I need electrical work in the future I will call them again.

I only got one recommendation and it was Sears. I called, told them exactly what I wanted, and they made an appt for someone to come out and give an estimate. But when they called later in the week to confirm the appointment was asked again what I wanted done and they said they couldn't do it. No changes only replace what was there. No walls could be added, no plumbing changed, which is pretty hard to do when you want the tub removed and enlarge existing shower they called me every day for 3 or 4 days until I finally answered to get me to make an appt. Pretty hard to get anything done when there is only one recommendation.

I have used both HomeAdvisor and Angie's List on several occasions. The quality of the local vendors that I used on HomeAdvisor were superior vs. Angie's List of vendors. My choice going forward without question is HomeAdvisor.

I am in the middle, leaning towards more on the dissatisfied side. The work was ok due to fact of some cracks forming immediately on the steps. To top that off an old cinder block was used being more than 10 years old. I sent several emails along with pictures to the business, requesting the problem be solved - no answer. I've told a few people who do like my little walkway and steps about the bad customer service associated with this company. As for using Home Advisor again questionable. Oh, I did send these comments to you previously but no reply.

I wanted to update my existing home heating/AC system with a supplemental heater for a garage converted to living space. Home Advisor did not understand my request. I had several estimates in excess of $12000 dollars and fielded lots of calls. Home Advisor should have listened to my original request. Nobody wanted to advise me on just updating my original system.

This joker needs to be removed from Home Advisor. Paid 200.00 a pallet for sod and the last pallet he went to home depot and it wasn't the same sod he started with. Interrupted a family day while we were in the pool. Came over without permission and hired labor ready people whom I did not trust.

Refinish table - Our table was ruined because of inexperience I believe. We have to replace it. It has a table cloth to on it and will until we buy a new one. A very unfortunate experience. We have used contractors for other services and were extremely pleased.

A-1 Appliance repair - Called quickly after contact. Initial service fee was lower than others, but the expertise was excellent. Repair was quick and the expense was about 1/2 of Sears for their own dryer. Very pleased with service and attitude of technician. Will certainly call again if we need service on appliances.

HomeAdvisor.com gave me the links to a number of siding contractors, from which I've chosen one. Although not the lowest price, I'm confident the job will be completed in a timely manner. Stay tuned... As the job progresses, I'll name that contractor and give my opinion on performance.

Sod replacement - No problem. I placed my request and was contacted by an appropriate number of contractors. Not my first time nor my last to use HomeAdvisor.

I got two responses from my request, which is really unusual in the area I live in which tradesmen are independently wealthy and indifferent to doing any work. I simply took the first one, which was Stone Wall and have use them twice. Response was timely and person knowledgeable, efficient and fairly priced. I recommend this guy to all for anything.

Very nice work, pricing was fair. Painted dark cabinets white, painted dark walls pale yellow. Stayed within budget and on time. Cleaned up well and will probably have them back for additional work after construction. Highly recommend DSB.

I highly recommend both HomeAdvisor and Kleanforce for the professionalism and excellence for providing a service product of such high quality. The service was very affordable and helped with my budget concerns by providing a convenient and affordable means to pay for the treatment of removing the mold from my home. The initial examination was also very reasonable and affordable.

HomeAdvisor has worked for me in my searches for various contractors although I have only proceeded in one project (plumbing). Reviews are accurate. I will continue to go to HomeAdvisor whenever I need to learn more about projects I am considering and the contractors that are qualified to handle these projects. The plumbing project was exactly as I wanted and, as a result, I have contacted the plumber for additional work.

I truly respect that HA follow ups on negative reviews on the companies that provide services. The other service provider site never followed up with me. In my case, Titan Remodeling did a poor job of my kitchen, floor, fireplace, and bathroom remodels. I gave a poor review and Titan denied it. HA called me to get clarification on my comments. I informed them that I photographs to support my comments. I understood that they would send me a link to send the photos but I did not receive it. HomeAdvisor has been an invaluable service for me. I've owned two houses and used HomeAdvisor to recommend people to work the projects at both locations. Sometimes the people don't respond, but that's on them. I'm trying to give them business, their problem if they can't be bothered to show up or call me. Also this service is free and they offer help with projects. If you looking into this because you're money conscious anyway, then this feature is what puts HomeAdvisor above and beyond other services like Angie's List.

I find HomeAdvisor a valuable tool for conducting business. "The Opportunity Center" has multiple nonprofit organizations that provide no cost outreach services to the community. With the click of a button HomeAdvisor sends us an online list of multiple repair service providers with fair competitive prices. I highly recommend HomeAdvisor.

Mr. Kain of Kevin Kain Construction LLC did miscellaneous work outside and inside of needed maintenance. They included replacing and finishing an interior door, re-installing of interior closet doors, repair of gutter downspouts. He was very professional and his work reflects a pride in good workmanship. I know will use him again.

Flowerbed retaining wall. Took way too long to complete job. Some of this was due to weather. First crew did not know what they were suppose to do and did not have the equipment to do the job. Did not put enough adhesive on some of the stones and they are already coming off. Did not do everything they told me they were going to do. Part of this was my fault because I took their word before I got a copy of the written contract. Overall, the finished product looks good but I need to put more adhesive on some of the stones.

The guys at Illinois Home Solutions are AWESOME!!! They are professional & they explain what the problem is & how they will fix it. Their prices are very reasonable too. I really enjoyed having them here to remedy my situation. I appreciated their help so much.

Got only 2 names in my search for someone to do a number of jobs around the house, including painting inside and out, installation of a garbage disposal, etc. One name had no reviews while I had difficulty communicating with the other, so decided not to hire. Had success previously with radon professional, however. Might use again.

I hired Statewide because ** said he was going to do exactly what I wanted without trying to sell me a more expensive job. He was available the next day and showed up on time. When they were finished, which took only 3 hours, I had a look around and everything seemed fine. When I began to paint the bricks, I noticed that there were several spots they had missed. The clean up wasn't that great.

In late summer of 2014 we added on to a residence and moved into the building as our residence. I contacted several HVAC contractors - most of whom failed to return my phone calls or finally returned them after a week or two. Then I sought the service through HomeAdvisor. The HVAC contractor I contacted through HomeAdvisor answered his phone promptly and stopped out the next day to review the proposed project. He did the job within a week - at 50% less than one other estimate I did receive. And, his work was excellent!

Used 3 times, 2 of the contractor were 5 stars. One (the most expensive) was almost a four but the quality of the work was not now as good as I expected. I would use this service again but watch the contractor more closely.

Had a wooden fence placed in the back yard. It was done exceptionally well. The price was reasonable more so than the other estimates given. Would highly recommend.

Sent out an inquiry for washer/dryer service. Not one response. I have used HomeAdvisor several times in the past year with either terrific or horrific results. Nothing average about this concept.

They recommend at least three providers or more that have been background-checked and reference them for whatever the job or area that may be needed in your home. You make the decision to hire who you would like after reading the reviews. This has been a free experience and well worth the time. I would highly recommend you to try them for yourself.

Reported possible A/C freon leak to HA and within minutes, the repair company called to schedule appt. Service man (US Air) arrived same day. ** was very professional and knowledgeable. Repaired problem during visit. Returned next day with replacement relay switch also. Pleased with service!

We had two rooms with carpeting that we wanted to remove and install hard-wood flooring. It took us quite a while, and job is still incomplete in that we've had to go on hold for a while due to other things. We had two companies recommended - Carpets To Go and International Flooring Co. We called both and got estimates. We had lots of questions, got lots of answers; chose one company (Carpet-to-Go) whose estimate was slightly lower than the other. Twice, we had 2-man crews come in to do the work. Took several days: move furniture (we did the easy stuff, workmen did the harder stuff). Then remove old carpeting, clean the area, and install unfinished hardwood flooring.

After they ServiceMagic became HomeAdvisor, the cust. service went south. Very creative to find ways and reasons to charge more without improving anything. Leads sent are less qualified and when there is a real good reason, they still deny credits. Try to lure you into services from which they are the ones benefitting. Will look around for replacement.

As usual Mr. ** did another excellent job for my home. This is a man who really takes pride in his work. I highly recommend him. I will have Mr. ** back in a few more months for the basement. Thank you HomeAdvisor and of course **.

I needed to replace a 31 year old Trane heat pump that Choice Home Warranty refused to repair or replace, so went to HomeAdvisor and to the Trane website. Both listed Air Clinic, so I called them plus two others that were only on the Trane site. All seemed to be capable, but Air Clinic came in with the best pricing. The unit is to be installed on 4/25, so more updates later.

He ruined my bathroom electric cost $300.00 for licensed electrician to repair, tried to get more money after work done. HomeAdvisor company notified no recouping the cost, never use again.
