My go-to resource when I need a reliable contractor/handyman, etc. I appreciate not having to pay for a subscription to have access to this resource.

I have used HomeAdvisor for three projects recently, and each of the companies they recommended were truly professional. They completed each project in a timely manner and at a fair price. I will use HomeAdvisor for any future projects.

I later received a phone call from an employee of All Affordable "Christina" to schedule an estimate. Mid-March, Ray ** (847) 644-6683 and Misha "Mike" **, came to my home and reviewed the scope of the work. They confirmed they could complete the job, re-assured us that because they dedicated their business to build homes, they did everything and did not sub-contract - THIS WAS A LIE. They subcontracted everything.

We would highly recommend Brothers Roofing. They contacted us the same day we requested a quote and everything went smoothly from there on. What a pleasure to work with such a professional and trustworthy team. We had hail damage to our rent home in Texas. We are in Pennsylvania, so finding a good roofing company long distance was very daunting. They dealt with our insurance company, all the paperwork and hassle. Their price was extremely reasonable, their work fabulous and they completed our roof in one day. Thank you Nathan for all that you did to make this such an easy experience. I just wish you did work in PA!

I interviewed 4 companies and decided on Energetic Tech. They proposed the same approach as an engineering and construction company's Plan B for 1/3 the cost. They came when they said that they would and executed the project in a workman-like and efficient manner.

I've used HomeAdvisor referrals a several times and received prompt referrals to reputable contractors that returned my calls pretty quickly. I like that fact they screen referrals. They make it easy for the working class, particularly a single female to get home maintenance/repair help without having to search online & wonder someone's a scammer or not, or whether a person will actually show up after you've taken time off work & waited on them.

First time consumer. I was uncertain as to the quality of their referrals. However, I received 2 follow up phone calls from prospective providers as well as the email listing names of providers. I used the Internet to research the reviews provided by other customers with HomeAdvisor as well as other internet sources (Angie's List, Yellow Pages, etc.). I lucked out! I had a great experience, so I might check HomeAdvisor again. I generally ask friends and neighbors to make recommendations, but decided to try this approach. Again, I am very pleased with the outcome.

I received 3 contractors to contact for my heat pump replacement/repair. I already had one quote from Sears so I only used two of the recommended contractors. I almost went with Sears before getting the other quotes but they were very expensive. I saved about $4,000 not going with Sears and I got a better unit and warranty. I had assumed the Lennox heat pump would be more than Sears because they are a very good product. Thank you HomeAdvisor for your recommendations.

What can I say? I came. I saw. HomeAdvisor conquered for me. Professionals I was able to contact were exactly that, professional. Independent contact allows the user to screen for integrity, savvy and cost. I will use HA in the future for all of my projects. I tried Redbeacon and their Professionals just didn't match up. No brainer. HA beat RB hands down in all aspects.

I was very happy with the ease and the quality of the plumber that I found. I have been looking for a company to repair my flooring tile, but I have been unable to find anyone through HomeAdvisor that primarily repairs tile.

Very expensive, $80 for one lead. Most of them did not answering your call or email. Home adviser did not care just charging you anyway. I spent thousands dollars and get only 3 leads. It's not worth it. I switching to Thumbtack. They returning money in no time if customer did not answer your offer in 48 hours.

This service can be a wrenching one (companies really compete) or it can be easy (even if required by law for a sale). Try and choose a non-busy day for this service. HomeAdvisor sent me a qualified list almost immediately and I chose 3 to interview. HomeAdvisor is superb and I can compare this with Angie's List which is not...

I had in my estimates two small electrical issues. One was a light panel issue in my bathroom. The other was exterior coach light that was not working properly. I had investigated both issues as far as I could with my experience. I decided to use HomeAdvisor as I wanted to try it out. I found the process to be extremely valuable as they follow the three estimate rule of helping the home owner collect three estimates and then decide. You have access to the reviews for each contractor and the added plus is that they contact you very promptly. Excellent service and I would use again and much better than using Angie's List in my estimation!

I utilized HomeAdvisor to find a contractor to do a porch extension project on my home. I thought that their background check and approval of a contractor would mean they had verified the reputation and quality of the contractor - that is not the case. The contractor they sent to me has been the absolute worst contractor I have ever tried to work with - long story short, they didn't finish the job, owe me money, what they did must be redone as it was subpar.

I have used HomeAdvisor.com for home and outdoor projects, but did not hire every professional they referred me to, as some had bad ratings with the BBB, and others were only interested in high-priced solutions to the problem areas. The few I did hire, did a good job, so I would recommend those individuals. I suggest you thoroughly screen anyone you plan to hire beforehand.

I got a fast response from 2 repair people. I submitted the request Sunday night. Within 5 minutes I was called by one company and the next called Monday morning before 8. I was very satisfied with my service.

Our company's business offers windows, siding and trim services. We've been a member of HomeAdvisor for 10 years or longer. I'm new with the company, but I'm familiar with how they ended up with HomeAdvisor. They called and spoke to somebody with the accounts at HomeAdvisor and signed up. Initially, it was for gutters and then just recently, we started doing siding, soffit and fascia, and trim.

We had an electrical problem with outdoor lighting that caused a circuit breaker to shut down. In addition to the outdoor lighting problem, our furnace was on the same circuit so we needed this corrected. Tony called immediately to make an appointment for later in the day and arrived promptly. He traced the problem & had us back to normal in 2 hours. We were very pleased.

My business is a full plant service company and I have been with HomeAdvisor for several years now. So far, I can't say too many pleasant things about HomeAdvisor because I'm continuously calling about mistakes they’ve made. But I had Heidi the other day and she took care of me beautifully. Their process needs to be refined as far as sending new leads and following through those leads, because they give me leads with work that I do not even do. There are so many other places where I can get leads from so they need to refine it, because I end up paying for someone to call and ask me how to get red stains out of their carpet. I have to pay for that lead even though the question is for carpet cleaners.

HomeAdvisor has come through for me several times in the six weeks I have held my new job as a Regional Facilities Manager for Smokey Bones. Our locations are usually far apart and it is difficult to find quality contractors on my own. The reviews are good, the process is simple. The response from the contractors is quick, the prices are fair, and the work is top notch.

Toilet leak and wobbled. Plumber repaired broken main 4-inch pipe and wobble. Excellent service and the price was very fair considering the amount of work and parts involved. Will recommend these folks to anyone. Best company I have ever hired.

I'm a homeowner and a friend told me about your site. I have tried to used it for several projects to help maintain my home. One of the projects was the repair of a pellet stove that is not working correctly. I have not been able to find a contractor.

You failed to explain to me clearly how your business works and put me in a bad position as a result. When you ask me on the phone (and I am surprised - in the first place I am not actually talking to the company I thought I was calling, because I am unfamiliar with your practice) do I ever need gutters cleaned and roof done or is there any other project I am considering and you DON'T TELL ME that by giving me a company name I am going to be immediately contacted with an expectation to give me an estimate for work done.

Pressure Washing - Chris ** did an excellent job of cleaning the exterior of my house and sidewalks. I wouldn't hesitate to hire him again.

My business offers home inspections and radon testing, and I’ve been with HomeAdvisor for quite a while. Actually, I was grandfathered in when they took over ServiceMagic. HomeAdvisor's okay to deal with, and when some things didn’t seem quite right recently, they made it right with me - they took off the charges. I also find their website misleading. When somebody, who might just be looking to see how many home inspectors are there in this area and don't actually have a home to inspect, enters the info and goes to the next page, HomeAdvisor's website sends out stuff to me before the person even requests a quote. And when they send stuff to me, they charge me for that contact. In fact, this year, I’ve gotten more nowhere leads than actual work. I’m not necessarily angry with them, but their system should be updated.
