We are very pleased with HomeAdvisor. We were in need of several services recently and hired all of the professionals from the list provided by HomeAdvisor. All services were conducted by professional and experienced staff at a reasonable cost. We will continue to go to HomeAdvisor first when we need additional services. Thank you for taking the guesswork out of hiring reputable experienced and trustworthy companies.

I used this company to find services in the Syracuse, NY area... from Morrisville, NC! AND IT WAS GREAT! We are doing work for cell tower sites in NY, and we have to organize it from NC... yes, NC! We have our crew that was up north doing some things on site, but we're organizing it logistically from NC. I just filled out the information I needed for my scope of work, and I had companies calling me within minutes. HomeAdvisor definitely was a big help and saved us a LOT of headache in finding companies that were thousands of miles away. And the companies were pretty reputable! No trouble at all! The reviews speak for themselves. And remember in the reviews, no one is perfect, but good work is good work, and if a company shows concern and care for the customer, most likely they won't try to get one over on you. You'll tell by the reviews... those are what were the most help.

On a Sunday morning needed repair to be able to open garage door. After contacting HomeAdvisor, the first caller could not come this day. The second caller came within one hour. The third call came in when the second person was already repairing the door, replacing the single spring for two springs, which is better for such big heavy doors. I was very pleased with the speedy and professional repair, considering a reasonable cost. The first caller called back later to tell that he found someone who could help today; very thoughtful and willing to help, even though there was no need for it anymore. It shows how service minded and helpful these people are.

I thought HomeAdvisor was a free service. I was surprised to find that this vendor added the fee that HomeAdvisor charged him for the lead to his hourly rate. This is not a free service. The net result was a 30+ % increase in the hourly rate which I did not find out until after the work was done. This is not a free service when this fee is added to his hourly rate.

The company reviewed the project, supplied a quotation which I believe to be fair and hired them. They were prompt, courteous and because of the scope of the job the 1.5 days for the completion of the project was excellent. I would recommend them.

HomeAdvisor helped me find a great company to fix my dryer.

We used HomeAdvisor to find a washing machine repairman. He came to our house and seemed to thoroughly check out the machine. He told us we needed a part, and he would come back to install it. He requested payment at that time which we did. We ordered the part that was over $200 then tried to call him back. He would not answer his repeated calls and messages. We finally had to find another repairman from another source. He said we did not need that part and fixed the machine without it. Then, with great effort finally told HomeAdvisor about our experience and we were told we would be contacted about our experience and compensated accordingly. Although going through it with them a second time, we were never contacted nor compensated. We will never use HomeAdvisor again.

After a local cleaner could not keep an appointment right before Christmas, I searched online for an alternate source and found HomeAdvisor. I had a quick and easy chat online with a rep, who took my requirements and found a couple of possible providers. One fully matched my requirements and was able to commit to an appointment two days later, the day before Christmas Eve! Without HomeAdvisor, it would not have been the Merry Christmas it turned out to be.

I had an animal that had eaten a hole in my leather and they were able to fix and repair the damage.

Jamie was on the phone responding to the office notifying him of the service call before I hung up from calling in the service call. Washing machine needed a new mother board, which was fixed the same day.

Both recommended companies were spot on time to the appointment so no unnecessary waiting. They were both able to diagnosis the problem and offer credible recommendations to fix the issues. We went over pricing and they did the jobs quite well. I intend to reuse them in the future if the situation warrants it.

The only item I wished had gone a bit better/faster was getting a hold of a HomeAdvisor agent to assist with quickly locating a contractor who was willing and able to quickly come out and "save the day" with our emergent situation. I recall on an earlier project, I was frankly amazed how wonderful that "feature" was... how helpful. In this instance, with the flooding, requiring both my wife and I to constantly bail water (for over 4 hours)... it would have been very helpful. Have used HomeAdvisor from time to time and have always found very good specialists for both our homes. They are extremely efficient and one gets to choose from a set of three specialists. They do follow up but do not hassle you with unwanted follow up calls for marketing etc. It would be useful to get an estimate for the job to be done because it becomes difficult to choose a specialist without getting a comparable price offer for which most times one has to pay estimate fees. This forces one to pick one just based on price without knowing if that is what the others were quoting for as well.

It's December 23 and there's a leak in the basement. It's just a pinhole leak in a copper pipe, but I don't have all the necessary tools and not feeling like dropping $200 at HD for everything I need to cut & weld some pipe. Went on HomeAdvisor, and Rafael called in 5 minutes and came out an hour later. One quick trip to the store to get a part and he had everything fixed within 2 hours for $170. I contacted HomeAdvisor on Dec 17, 2015 about a leaky shower/tub faucet that I was having trouble getting a plumber to repair. I tried to get one from Lowe's and Home Depot, but was unsuccessful. No one responded to my inquires that I contacted. I finally contacted HomeAdvisor (heard about them from local PBS station). I was immediately connected with My Legacy Plumbing in Vacaville who said they were interested in the job and were amazing available to do the job that day. We communicated by phone and e-mail. Randy from My Legacy Plumbing (Vacaville, CA) was able to make it to my house by 4 pm. He assessed the situation and told me that I needed to replace the faucet since it was corroded with mineral deposits.

My experience was great. I submitted the request online and was presented with 3 options. I received returns calls from 2 of the 3. The first person had a $65 diagnostic fee, not including service. Modern Air did not charge a diagnostic fee and I decided to go that route. I am so glad that I did. Charles showed up on time. He quickly diagnosed the problem and was done within an hour. I plan to make Modern Air my go to company for any future maintenance and repairs.

I've not used the internet successfully before to find in-home services. I was glad not to be bombarded with simultaneous ads or celebrity posts, etc. The listing of truly local service providers made it a useful site. Others I've gone to included unrelated services and services that were out of territory so, first, I had to cull out the chaff before finding a service provider or just gave up and went to the phone book. I have been extremely pleased with the rapid response from qualified technicians. The necessary repairs have been done competently. My total cost seems high, I can only presume that I have spent my money well. I do not expect to have the same repairs made again.
