Dryer vent cleaning. Very happy with the company that did the work. It is good to be able to see the ratings that others have posted. The distance from the company to my location was a bit far and resulted in an extra charge but it was noted up front and I still felt the rate was reasonable.

Over the past month I've hired a plumber and hardwood floor company as a result of HomeAdvisor. In both instances the companies that responded were very professional and competitive in pricing.

I didn't know where to start looking for a handyman to replace our stairs. I started on Google and found HomeAdvisor. I never even knew this service existed, but I'm so glad I found it. We got an immediate call from the vendor we selected and had our work completed within a week. Not only that, but HomeAdvisor called to see how our search was going and recommend other vendors to check out based on our needs; they also followed up with an email. What a great resource this has been!

Not enough choices on selection of service. We were looking for someone to run some coax cable for a TV. The closest choice was "mounting TV on wall.

Wow! This service is great. I have used HomeAdvisor twice and have been satisfied both times. It is amazing how quickly the vendors respond when you put in a request for service. It is now the first place I look for help with the house after asking friends for a recommendation.

Replaced 40 g gas water heater. Prompt with service.

I needed to find kitchen counter top specialist in Miami area. I am in NY so I had to resort to internet. HomeAdvisor site came out from Google search. I put in all the data they asked me about my project and I received two references. The next day I called one of them and hired them on the spot since they had good reviews on the internet - Innovative Kitchens. IK did a very good job and the price was fair.

The experience was very good. My only complaint is that when I went online to check for plumbers to replace my failed water heater I checked... "Do not want HomeAdvisor to select or ask for quotes for me"... I was just looking at the possible suggested plumbers, checking prices online for water heaters and doing what I always do - getting information first.

Home Advisors have been very helpful with the request that I have made. They made contact with the pro for what my needs were and was quick to link us so I can explain the type of problem I was having.

I am a contractor and I advertise in HomeAdvisor. More than 80% of all leads I have are from fake accounts, fake phone numbers and fake addresses. HomeAdvisor said that they charge between $7 and $59 but I've been charged for at least 40% of the leads more than $80 per lead. Absolute scam. I had to call them after every fake lead to get my money back and half of it never been return to my account. I highly recommend all serious contractors to stay away from scam like that. If HomeAdvisor is serious company they should check their clients and they should be fair with people like me who pay their bills. I paused my leads and can't wait to get rid of this scammers.

Locksmith came out on snow day and re-keyed locks.

Toilet Replacement. Referred provider was excellent.

A breaker was thrown which appeared to be due to a short. Michael J. Palmer Electric found the cause, replaced wiring along with light fixtures that needed to be replaced. The short was in a corroded line in the joists between the kitchen and the basement and was difficult to find, but the electrician carefully traced the lines until he found it. I am pleased with the job which was done promptly, efficiently, and at a reasonable price. I would call again if needed and would recommend their services.

Gutter cleaning experts. Fast, efficient, polite, prompt, reasonable. Would use again.

Attic insulation - First time using HomeAdvisor, will be using them again!

They were called to clean stove but it turned out after inspection that pipe needed to be replace since it was a fire hazard.

The handyman assembled a curio cabinet. Even though there were complications because of mistakes during manufacturing, he was able to do an excellent job with the project. They were friendly, on time, and cleaned up completely upon completion of the job.

As a contractor I decided to try this company for leads for work. After over a month I am in debt over $400 to them and only ONE legit job. Each lead for my profession cost over $40 and some of those looking are just pricing out jobs, but we still get charged just to talk to them. The idea of this service is a good one but the cost charged back to the contractor is way too high especially for a small business looking for work additional work and expand their company.

HomeAdvisor provided a list of qualified vendors in our area. HomeAdvisor followed up to see if any of the vendors were used for our project as well as a follow-up to check on the end results.

Floor refinishing - Floor was sanded in 6 hours and a first coat put down. The next day he was here at 8 AM, put another coat down and the next day he put the last coat down. I put the heat to 68 and left for 3 days. Came back and floor looked great. Wife was happy - HAPPY WIFE, HAPPY LIFE!

We have found HomeAdvisor to be a great resource when we are in panic mode to get work done that we cannot do ourselves. Found a contractor that worked well.

I've used HomeAdvisor for multiple projects; from garage door replacement to trash hauling and have always been very satisfied with the quality of contractors that have responded to my inquiries as well as the quality of customer service provided by HomeAdvisor. Although every contractor that responds to my request for quotes won't provide a bid that works with my budget, there are usually a couple of contractors that are within budget. One other positive aspect of doing business with HomeAdvisor is that they usually follow-up with you to see if you have any questions or suggestions. Overall, HomeAdvisor produces a quality product at a great price.

I am a residential customer and I got the name of HomeAdvisor from an internet ad. I noticed that Marvin received a good rating from other jobs he has done and I agree completely. No company pays me to recommend their services. I can see that Marvin and his crew can be trusted to work independently in my home. That means a lot to me. I have no complaints. I'm very happy with the work Marvin and his crew conducted.

TV installation, lawn maintenance, glass shower stall installation. Three different contractors all from HomeAdvisor. All were very good.

The first time dealing with HomeAdvisor was looking for someone to service heater for winter. What I received were offers for twice as much as the other companies in the town were doing the job for. The second time trying HomeAdvisor out, I wanted to redo my bathroom/laundry room. I ended up with a person who has a website showing picture but nothing else, no words, no recommendations from other people, and the website lead to dead websites. It took a long time to find him on Angie's list with no license, no insurance and having done no work in several years. Also he has two business that are being taken over by the bank and comments about one of his business from people in town, well you would never go there. Also his website are up for sale, or with extensions going nowhere.

I noticed a water stain on the ceiling after a strong storm. After calling roofers from the phone book ("call us back in 2 weeks..."), I did a search on Google, led me to possible contractor within 20 miles and the number I called led me to HomeAdvisor. Sorry I did not write down the name of the woman I spoke with. She was compassionate (I was pretty upset), assured me the leak would get fixed and explained those contracted with HomeAdvisor were reputable and skilled workers. Less than 48 hours later my roof was fixed. I wish I had business cards to leave all over our little town for HomeAdvisor, this company is on speed dial on my phone.

I was referred to three companies and the first one to respond was hired. I feel all companies were good, some were just too busy at this time.

Called and needed some help with my security system. HomeAdvisor gave me several options and even followed up with me to make sure that was able to get in touch with them. If I have any other jobs that need doing I will rely on HomeAdvisor to get me the help I need.

3 out of 4 potential suppliers reached out to me promptly and all were professional - the one we chose had the best price and were excellent to deal with including post install follow-up.

When starting research for a large fence repair project, I used two internet sites for searching service professionals. I contacted two recommended from another site and one suggested from HomeAdvisor to bid. The one that provided the best prices and appeared to have the best ratings came from the HomeAdvisor's recommendation. I've been using HomeAdvisor for years and find the service great for finding the right contractors for my home projects. Whenever I search for information on a project I get referrals within minutes. The only costly experience I've had since using the service is last summer I was looking for a landscape contractor to install pavers, build a barbeque pit and seating wall. I ended up choosing a contractor who subbed out the job (I wasn't aware of this) which resulted in my having to forfeit the seating wall because the contractor basically omitted the seating wall off of the job. He basically ran off with my money and I never saw him again. That left a real bad taste in my gut.

We use HomeAdvisor when we can't seem to get a good recommendation from a friend or neighbor on a home repair. We have been "burned" in the past by using someone we didn't fully check out so we like the honest reviews on HomeAdvisor and their recommendations and guarantees. So far, we've have good luck in using your contractors.

Was having a constant alarm issue all throughout the house with smoke detectors. Changed new batteries 2 weeks ago and still alarms going off on every detector. Purchased and replaced all new smokes in the home following wiring guidelines and still alarms going off. Went online to HomeAdvisor and JCM Electric came immediately and solved issue and two other electric services called immediately. HomeAdvisor is an outstanding website and wonderful resource to homeowners!

Charles is my go to guy from now on for heating cooling as he was fast and worked out a price I could handle. He still made a lot of money but we pay for them to help us. Modern Air was the first to call and a no cost estimate plus late weekend night on cold night. Wow is all I can say, I was grateful.

My current alarm system was 10 years old and I was not pleased with the service support side of my alarm system. The monitoring was fine. I conducted an online search for a local service with large customer base monitoring. Within hours of posted what I was looking for, Secure Pro, Mike ** contacted, set up an appointment. Of the seven companies I contacted, five reached out to me, three came by, six bids, and Mike's bid was by far the best all around. For products (2-Gig equipment) and monitoring (Monitronics) met all my requirements and exceeded my expectations.

I signed up with HomeAdvisor Pro in order to obtain relevant leads, people in my area who had contacted HomeAdvisor looking for Architecture or Interior Design services. Within 2 weeks they had sent me 6 bogus leads. The people they had me contact had NO idea what HomeAdvisor was or why I would be calling them. A couple of the people would never answer the phone... It would ring and ring and then go dead. And they sent me a lead in Illinois, when my service area was clearly designated as just areas surrounding Lexington, KY. When I contacted them to request a refund on the bogus lead charges they said that they couldn't and wouldn't do that. Within a month they have charged my credit card over $500. I have disputed the charges with my credit card company and they are going to issue me a refund and take it up with HomeAdvisor in court, if need be. DO NOT use HomeAdvisor!

We have had good luck finding businesses to do work on our home. We have used them to hire HVAC replacement pros and roofers and this time a plumber to replace leaky pipes. The workers seemed professional and did a good job. We were happy with the quoted prices and finished work.

When I used HomeAdvisor, I did not complete the process of finding a servicer. However, even without completing the process entirely, somehow the servicer received my "report". It ended up pretty good since the service was quick and easy and seems to have been done right - but I am not fully satisfied since it was not clear that my information would be sent to the servicer even if I did not complete the process. I do plan to use HomeAdvisor again in the future.

Two of the contractors identified were LAUGHABLY inept - did not call me (I HAD TO CALL THEM to schedule an estimate), arrived LATE to provide an estimate, NO written estimate, estimates were MUCH HIGHER than the HomeAdvisor suggested amount. A COMPLETE waste of time. Payaso incompetente! BUT, one contractor was a consummate pro - provided complete project details and a reasonable price, did the work admirably. Overall...I was more than satisfied and I will use HomeAdvisor again.

Needed a local plumber for washing machine hose connections to be fixed, due to they were leaking.

I found a competent and professional egress window installation source using HomeAdvisor. It was nice to be able to read reviews from other consumers who had a project similar to mine. It was a quick and easy process. The installer responded to my online inquiry within a couple of hours and my project was completed quickly after that. They had great communication and HomeAdvisor checked on the project along the way too.

My gas oven would not ignite and the repairman came pretty quickly and repaired the igniter after telling me to not touch the stove (gas). I have always had good luck with HomeAdvisor. Getting people to make repairs can be such a challenge, they don't show, don't return calls but I have not had that experience with HomeAdvisor.

I won't use Home Advisor again. This is how it works. You log in and specify the project that you need help with, and names of contractors/business pop up. At that point that I figure I get to choose and looked at reviews to decide which contractor I wanted to call. Well, that's not quite how it works. One contractor was someone I'd used in the past and didn't want to use again so I picked another and sent an email request for an appointment. The phone rang five minutes later, and it was the guy I didn't want to use. I asked why he was calling me. And he said he got my name through HomeAdvisor. It seems that contractors get your name/contact information whether you want to use them or not, and they pay HomeAdvisor $15 for each contact.

I found HomeAdvisor just via a search. Several options came available and responded. It was a fluid process and I chose a business which worked out.

What appeared to be a thermostat issue (because that is what I saw) ended up being compressor and electrical issues. Velocity came out within the hour and that was when the electrical issues were found. A second repairman (electrician) came out that same afternoon to assess what would be needed. He came back the next afternoon and did what needed to be done. I am very impressed with the company and especially with these two professionals.

Love the idea of Angie's List, but feel that users should not have to pay. Heard of HomeAdvisor on HGTV and gave it a try. Already hired once already and have appt for quote different work from a different contractor. Great resource to find vetted out resources.

Home Advisor was very helpful.

Contractor thoroughly pressure washed and removed mold and stains off walls and cement and soft washed the asphalt shingle roof and the sealed metal roof over the sunroom as well as the asphalt roofing on two outbuildings. He did a quality job on everything. He worked part of a second day to get the job right for me and assured me if I found anything else needing attention that he would come out and make it right.

My experience with AllStar Electric was very good from start to finish - I would use them again!! I went directly to HomeAdvisor for this project - this is the second company I have used from HomeAdvisor and the reason is because they check company's backgrounds. Make sure they are licensed and bonded and hopefully listed with the BBB!!! HomeAdvisor beats Angie's List by a mile!!!

I had three phone calls from contractors within less than one hour and set up times for them to come and give estimates for a moisture barrier in my garage and for them to check my foundation for moisture or cracks. I interviewed each one when they arrived and had them comment on what they thought needed to be done to correct my problems. After interviewing all three, I hired the one I felt was best qualified. The company did excellent work and had the highest standards. They cleaned up afterwards and I was very pleased with HomeAdvisor for their recommendations.
