First time using HomeAdvisor and within minutes of posting I received responses. I was able to find a quality contractor to do the work I needed. I would definitely use HomeAdvisor again.

I read all your reviews carefully, and was very impressed by one provider in particular. When I called to get an appointment, the HomeAdvisor rep tried to steer me to other providers. I insisted on this one, and then they finally made the connection. I thought the attempted "bait and switch" might be due to variations in how much HomeAdvisor was compensated for different referrals, but the rep told me that there was no charge to the supplier for the referral, that HomeAdvisor charged a fixed listing fee to approved companies, and that was how they got paid--not on any commission scheme.

I went on HomeAdvisor's website and within a minute I got my first call from Global Garage Door and Service. That day Rob came out and fixed my door in less than 15 minutes. Fantastic service!

Excellent algorithm for recommending vendors, then great follow up.

I had sod replaced and tree trimmed. I was surprised to have had at least 2 follow-up calls from HomeAdvisor. Both people were friendly and seemed concerned that this was a positive experience.

I was shown a list of contractors, read the ratings and found a roofer who did an excellent job.

This was my first experience with HomeAdvisor and it was wonderful. I put in what I was looking for, wrote down the names of several companies but didn't call any. The next day I received a call from the one I used and they turned out to be outstanding. I will definitely use HomeAdvisor again for other services I need.

I use HomeAdvisor for both my house in NY and my brother's house in Fl. I've been using them for several years and they have never steered us wrong. Once we forgot the name of a plumber we used and when we called them they had a record of it and gave us the number.

3 companies were recommended out of which 2 responded immediately and I chose one of them. I was generally satisfied with that one, although I had to be after them to complete most of the work I thought was contracted (not really all of it...). The quality of the work was generally good, although sloppy in a few places.

Dave painted the exterior of our century home in northeast Ohio and it has never looked better. The project... power washing, scraping and painting also included a garage and garden picket fence. The workmanship and attitude of the crew was top notch. The house looks fabulous.

While we've been very happy with everyone we've hired through HomeAdvisor, we've had problems from each Pro search. Each time we've specifically noted NOT to have them call us -- that we'd contact the Pros after looking into them further. But each time instead the phone began ringing immediately and incessantly. We had at times calls every few minutes throughout the day from some of the Pros. We tried contacting the Pros and left messages in some cases for them to stop. We then contacted Home Advisor repeatedly by phone and through their site and even after they shut down the search and noted for the Pros NOT to call us, some still did... and with such frequency (literally every few minutes all day, every day in some cases) that we had to block the callers and remove ourselves from the search.

They sell your phone number. Put my info in there one time, now at least 4 times a day someone is calling. Never again. Ask friends and neighbors. There is no question they got my number from them. Funny thing is I have house on east coast and west coast. I put in request for east cost for windows, using my west coast phone number. They are confused where the job is. They can't even lie good.

I was, quite frankly, very nervous and reluctant to trust one of these website contractor services - it is SO hard to find a good and trustworthy person to do quality work. But I was stuck - 1,000 miles away from the property (which is a rental) and no existing relationships for the work I needed done. I used HomeAdvisor for lawn care and for paint and wall repair left by the previous tenant on light colored (non-white) walls. Not only did HomeAdvisor personally follow up by calling me and making sure I found what I needed but they asked about the work the contractors did.

I received Globe Pro Restoration's information from HomeAdvisor. When Chris Fulco, the president, came to look at the job site, I asked him if he was licensed and insured. He answered in the affirmative and stated that he was "HomeAdvisor Screened and Approved." He was very responsive to all our questions until we signed the contract and gave him a deposit of $4800. He provided us with insurance, but we later found out that the insurance company he gave us, had nothing to do with his company and that he had no insurance or license of his own. He gave us one excuse after another why he couldn't start the job and to this day I still have not received my money back.

So far this is the first and only time I've used HomeAdvisor, but I'm very satisfied. A contractor contacted me right away and ended up doing a good job.

The old wood had to be removed and new composite material put on the original framing. All worked out beautifully. Thanks HomeAdvisor for the name of the contractor in my area. He worked out fine for our job.

HomeAdvisor's excellent site and helpful reviews helped me to find a terrific contractor for my job. They interfaced between me and the contractor and even sent information on the typical charges for the job, information that helped give me a sense of what to expect. Although I had a bit of trouble submitting a review, when I called the customer service number they provided, I received immediate help, even on a Saturday, and the review went through. This is a terrific service for consumers who need to find excellent contractors to get a job done but don't have much experience with the process. Highly recommended.

Professional in every way. Jane made the initial visit and sized up the job and quoted an acceptable price. She and two workers deep-cleaned a kitchen and two bathrooms that hadn't been cleaned in several months. I contracted with them to do ongoing service.

However, I didn't understand how the 'immediate' connect on the site worked – it just called me and I didn't have any information about 'who' it is (I noted this on the my review of Nava Landscaping). Window washing - Did an excellent job, very prompt and courteous.

Every time I contacted HomeAdvisor I always get quick response. The people they recommend are always knowledgeable and honest. My wife and I have decided to stay with HomeAdvisor for our home repair needs from now on.

We were very pleased with our contractor and his work. But the HomeAdvisor calculator on cost for a new driveway was very weak. It didn't allow for size of project or special type of work being done. The calculator did nothing to help us plan. However, the contractor referrals were good and in the end we were happy.

They found someone who came out immediately, agreed to a price and a few hours later the work was done. Excellent service and contractor.

HomeAdvisor gave me a couple of contacts and I chose one who would give me a free estimate and bought the price in well under another outfit not listed with HomeAdvisor. Contractor did all the agreed upon work and even cleaned up afterwards.

HomeAdvisor was easy to navigate. After entering a description of the project (water heater replacement) I received the names of three plumbing contractors in my area who would perform the work. I recognized the name of one from having seen their truck at a number of my neighbors' homes. The HomeAdvisor user reviews for this plumber were overall excellent so I went with them. Great choice - they did wonderful work at a competitive price. Made my appointment through HomeAdvisor. Received follow up reminder email the day of the appointment and a satisfaction survey at completion of work.

HomeAdvisor.com contacted our company to be a contractor in their system. They did give us leads at an average price of $20 per lead - their salesman indicated that there was a 40% to 70% conversion rate on these leads. However, out of the 70 leads that we received in 3 weeks over 60% didn't even call back. Our company is a high-volume roof repair company - very rarely do we ever get call backs, our experience shows that the no-call-back percentage is less than 5%. Out of those 70 leads, we actually inspected only 10 roofs, with ZERO conversions.

We found Carson Custom Movers through HomeAdvisor and they were wonderful. The calendar on HomeAdvisor provided a time slot that didn't end up working for the company, but we worked it out.

HomeAdvisor promptly referred me to an excellent roofing inspector. They were polite and very accommodating. Thank you!

I was surprised when the recommended appliance repair companies all called me at almost the same time when I requested the names of recommended appliance repair companies that served my area via their website. I ended up using the company that I spoke with first. All 3 companies seemed to want my business and made me feel like I would be a valued customer. I was also reassured by the positive comments on the companies. I would not hesitate to use the HomeAdvisor.com site in the future.

I would grade the three contractors I've hired through HomeAdvisor as a B, a B+ and an A+, but the A+ job was the most important and expensive, so I am quite satisfied with the overall service.

HomeAdvisor did a wonderful service to me by providing me the right company to do this plumbing problem job for us! The service was prompt to come to my home and did the job less than one hour! The leak came from a pipe that had split underneath the house. This pipe was positioned to go through the outside wall to where a faucet was attached so we could have access to hook up a hose. The plumber that we had come out last year did not fix the problem! I know this service has, thank you Chris for all your work!

Like the way HomeAdvisor gives the option of whether you want to be contacted or not. I like the fact that I can get a free estimate without being charged till I hire. The ratings give me the opportunity to pick up the right person after reading all the reviews.

We searched HomeAdvisor for a company to paint the nonbrick part of our house. We got several suggestions and an appointment set up by HomeAdvisor with Day Painters. They were the ones we chose as their quote was less than quotes outside of HomeAdvisor.

Repair of an outdoor receptacle. Received a couple of callbacks from posting online. Took Metro after reading reviews. Left a message with another, but did not receive call back until next day. By then had already contracted with Metro. Pleased with the result and the ease with which it worked.

HomeAdvisor has proven to be an invaluable resource to me. I get to select from several options and that is a real plus to me. This time I needed a couple of LARGE trees removed. Providers were prompt & very competitive with quotes. The reviews were very helpful. I got the job done quickly & professionally at an excellent price! In the picture, the large tree's stump is over 3 feet in diameter. The smaller one is almost 12 inches. Both had died (Large from age, small from a limb falling on it from the larger tree). No need for grinding. A tree farm will come out, punch the new hole and carry the stump away so that they can plant a new, large-Caliper Tree in its place.

While searching for a handyman to reset some tiles, I came across a handyman that was only reachable via HomeAdvisor. I clicked and was immediately connected with the gentleman I was searching for! Work was professionally done and on time. The old toilet was removed and trashed and the new toilet was installed. The new toilet works as expected. The new toilet was purchased by me and on site when the plumber arrived. Parts not included with the new toilet were furnished and installed by the plumber.
