Hawx came out to spray the yard for bugs, ants, and spiders and to spray the ceiling on the outside of the house. I called them to set up a schedule. Someone answered the phone after an automated caller answered. After that, we set up the schedule for them to arrive on the following Monday. They told me that they would call me half an hour before arrival. The technician was very friendly and very helpful. So, it was a good interaction. As far as the cost, the person who came by the house offered the service for $49 per month. Then when I called them, they wanted to offer it to me for $55. I said, “No, I wanna do just 49.” So, they said okay. But then, it was for a month. I didn't think I needed it every month because I just have a few ants outside. They're not inside being a bother. So I said, "I don't need it every month." They allowed me to set it up for every quarter instead. It's okay so far.

The only thing, though, is their website is difficult to use. I called them about that because there was supposed to be an evaluation that I could do on the website. I went on the website. The link to the evaluation wasn't working. There was a button and even though I clicked it, it didn't work. When I called them, they also couldn't figure out how to get it to work either. So, it was a hassle to try to get a workaround to submitting that evaluation. I tried to call the local office regarding that problem, and there wasn't a number to the local office available. So, I had to call the central office, and they tried to help me. So even though I was serviced by a local office, there was no way for me to follow up with them locally when there was a problem with the website or just to leave that kind of feedback.

I had Terminix for nine years but their prices kept going up. I was paying 79 bucks then it was up to 145. A Hawx guy did a 1-on-1 where we can sit and talk out here. He then had a guy come the next day to do a free inspection of the house. He sprayed for bugs. I ended up getting their service. They've really been good to me and I've really been pleased with them.

A guy came out the other day and did an inspection for termites. I didn't know I had some termites so he explained it all. I used to have Terminix and they gave me a couple of modes. One is to do a section where the termites are at and the other one was with tenting. If I did the first, it doesn't mean all the woods have termites because it's in the house. I checked it out to see how much it cost me to replace the two beams that I have in there and that was $2,700 to do to the two beams. The price of everything has gone up so much. I said, "I'll just do the tenting. That way, I know everything gets taken care of." On the 22nd, I'm having the house tented.

The Hawx guy explained that you can't have any plants, fish, or animals like that in the house. For all of the food that we have, he gave us plastic bags. We double bag them then we can put them back in the refrigerator. It's the same way with all your cupboards. They gotta be open so the gas can get in there and everything.

I also have a safe so I have to get all the stuff out of the safe and leave it open. I need to call him back because I had some questions. They say if you have a gate, you gotta take your gate down. I just had these gates put up and they're heavy galvanized ones. When they tent the house, they gotta tent as close as they can to the house. I wanna check with the Hawx guy about that. I have solar so I asked about that as well. In their paperwork, it says, "If we wreck one, we don't have to cover it."

Another thing is if you have outdoor security lights that you can't turn off, you gotta take the lights out so they don't go on because that could start a fire. I got four lights I gotta take out. That was no big deal. I have a dish because I have that for my trailer too. I'm gonna see if I have to take that down or what or if they come back up and set it up if they redo it. They say they could knock it out of alignment. I'm thinking they'll probably just say, "Let them knock it out of alignment, we'll come and fix it." On the 22nd, the techs will go inside and check everything. As soon as the guy gets there, we give him a key and we're gone. We gotta be gone.

I started renting a unit and unfortunately, the landlord was not very forthcoming. I had been there seven days and discovered that the unit had mice. I work from home. I was actually on camera and every time a mouse ran out, it was a natural reflex for me to begin screaming and yelling. The landlord did not want to do anything about it. The night that the mice were discovered, I slept on my couch on the phone with a friend because no one could get to me where I was at. I dozed for 5 or 10 minutes and just had my feet up. It was a very traumatic experience because of the landlord's whole aggressive demeanor behind the situation like it was nothing. I understand that sometimes it's just like some people may have issues with spiders, and some may not. For me, it was that little creature running around on four legs.

I caught up with a young lady withHawx and she gave me a quote. I had just moved so my funds were not really there to do a lot. She looked and she found that there was a promotion going on. That made it affordable and I was able to get the service. Not only that, she sent the service out that morning so there was no wait time. Michael was the tech and he was very thorough. The landlord told me that they had never had any situation with mice and roaches in that unit before. During Michael's inspection, he showed me the entry points of where the mice were coming in as well as evidence that the mice had been there before I moved in seven days ago.

He saw the sheer anxiety that the whole situation had put me in and he explained it in a way that I could understand it. He took pictures and made documentation. He showed me where they had put up traps so it proved that the landlord knew that the place had issues before moving in. Michael also showed me where they had tried to rig the place of those issues. These traps were hidden in the kitchen, the pantry, and all the way at the top back in the corner. I'm five nine and I still did not see those when I did my inspection. Unless I had a ladder that was the only way that I would have been able to see. Michael was so tall, and with the thoroughness of his inspection, he spotted them. And it was more than one.

There was also evidence that German roaches were inside the traps that had been set. Michael made it very clear that I wasn't to put any food in there. They had absolutely been cleaned thoroughly. That was another life-saving aspect because had I put my food in there and that residue could have gotten on the cans or the boxes without me knowing. Michael really took time underneath the stove. He pulled up the bottom of the stove where the stove warmer is. It was horrendous. I had never seen such disgust. It looked like years and years of decay. You could tell where rodents had been traveling through there.

Michael took pictures and because of the amazing job and the thoroughness that he did with that, I was able to bring that information with me to court. It was asked by the judge where they were able to see that I was telling them in reference to the situation. They were able to honor that and allow me to submit it. Michael also sprayed the outside and he closed the hole which prevented the mice from coming in.

The landlord came over that night when everything was going on and the rodent first made its first appearance and he decided to put wood boxes that had springs and peanut butter on the floor. Michael told me that those were very dangerous for my well-being. If I saw the mice on a stand and was running to get away from them, I could step on the wood boxes and hurt myself. Michael educated me and said that the mice are blind so placing traps in the middle of the floor is pointless because they use the side of the wall to travel.

Michael used some non-toxic mice traps that he placed around the line of the wall. He closed off the holes and I could hear the mice in the wall, but they couldn't come in because he had closed off all the entry points. This is where he went above and beyond. One of the entry points was where the dryer was supposed to go. The ventilation system had a hole on the inside, but he didn't have anything to cap it off. He explained that I could go to Walmart and get a cap. He instead asked for a carton that I wasn't using. He cut that and tucked it into position inside of that vent so that it would barricade that section off. For the rest of them, he used professional copper, which they don't like, to close off those entry points. These were like large holes drilled into the floor that went all the way down to the point where you could feel the outside air.

Michael also taught me that mice don't like noise. I had a little Alexa inside my bedroom and playing music will deter the mice from wanting to try to come in. When I could hear them in the wall trying to find another entry point, I would turn on the music. I liked Michael's thoroughness, his inspection, his understanding, and his willingness to accommodate the overwhelming anxiety that I felt behind the situation. Michael also said gave me a number to call for any questions that I may have.

Lo and behold, when that thing got on that trap and squealed, everything inside of me just shook because it had gone under the stove, like one of its normal travel locations. Michael put a trap underneath the stove and it got on there. I didn't know what to do. I waited for someone to get there to help me get it out. I didn't want to take any chances. Hawx was absolutely amazing. I liked the service rendered from the time I called all the way to the follow-up appointment on that following Monday when Michael came back out and made sure that everything was still the way it was. If anybody asks, Hawx will be the first name that will come out of my mouth when they're looking for service. They helped me tremendously and I will forever be grateful.

Hawx came out to check inside the house for termite droppings and the tech said that there were none there. Then, my husband and I did the walk through with the gentleman who was inspecting and we pulled bark off a tree to check. We couldn't find any external sign, which was a good thing. We tested for it and they said we probably didn't need the outside treatment. But when they explained where the termites can come from, we asked them to go ahead and insert the termite things into the ground. They didn't try to sell it to us. They were very thorough and after the guy put them in the ground, they sent a third person out to make sure it was done correctly. I'm very happy with them.

My brother lives in Clearwater and he just retired from a company like Hawx. I verified with him everything that they said to me and gave me the explanations for. He said they were legitimate, so we went with that. When we have a scheduled service, we get a text and a backup email. So if I don't answer a text, they would say they texted me and they wanted to follow through on my appointment. We have inside treatment as well to the house, just to make sure everything's okay because we were renting and the house we were renting's kitchen had a pest infestation. We wanted to make sure we didn't bring it with us to this house that we bought.

Hawx have been really good. They open the cabinets, look underneath, and don't take anything for granted. The techs always have their uniform and even though you open the door, they ask permission to enter. They put covers on their shoes and they wash their hands. I'm a nurse and I still teach nurses. So I'm impressed with this company. It's wonderful and reasonable. They’re not charging an arm and a leg either. They are well worth the investment in your home.

Signup was a quick process. The Hawx Pest Control guys rolled up on those hoverboard things going door to door, and they contacted me. The guy I dealt with used a tablet to go through what I was signing up for, and within two weeks, somebody came out to assess the house and to begin treatment. Prior to them coming, I was doing something similar to what they're doing. I'd mix up the stuff, spray it on the outside of the house with soap in it to get it to stick, and then spread pellets. It wasn't that effective. Living in the south, we've got the palmetto bugs, which would be called a cockroach anywhere else. There are these big ones that tend to show up and I haven't seen a big one since they started. What they're doing is more effective than what I was doing.

Hawx Pest Control comes out every three months to re-treat the house, and any time they are coming, they call ahead of time and ask what my concerns are or ask in person, and then treat for that. At one time, it was raining cats and dogs and the guy was supposed to show up. He called me ahead of time and said "Listen now, I can treat it if you want but it's raining so the stuff isn't gonna stick to the outside of your house." I said, "That's fine. I didn't really want you standing out in the rain anyway." They rescheduled and came back another time.

Several of my neighbors have contracted with Hawx as well. It's a little pricey, but the value add is that somebody else is doing the work for me. The cost of the materials, which I was buying from Walmart, was equal to a little over a month of their fees. So, for a dude to show up and work around the house for an hour, they're making 100 bucks, which is fine. I don't have to touch chemicals and I see better results.

The service with Hawx has been great. So far, I've seen a lot of dead bugs and I contact them because of the same reason. I had a lot of bugs and spiders in my house. Cost is reasonable. As of now, everything's great. Customer service is okay.

Hawx Pest Control did an excellent job. The technician was friendly, knowledgeable and gave me suggestions on what to look out for and to be cautious about different things that he saw around the house that could attract critters. He told me he was new on the job, but with the way he conducted himself, I said I hope to see him again. We were able to strike up a conversation about the kids and critters. I enjoyed talking with him. I wanted him to do a good spraying around the house as well as come in to the garage area. Unfortunately, I haven't had my garage clean and orderly, so I wasn't able to get him to come in or spray as well as I wanted. But I told him, by the time he comes back in July, I should have everything organized so he could do a good spraying there.

When Hawx Pest Control came around, the rep talked about all of the services that they provide. They were the most inexpensive for what I was looking for. I've only received one treatment but according to what the guy said, they come out every three months, but they could come out as much as I need them to. The guy who came out he was excellent in his job. He has a good passion for it. He was very nice and professional.

The sales rep was very informative and told me about the different services that they use. At that particular time, I was looking to do some fertilization on my lawn and he stated that they mainly focus on pest control. We started talking about that and I decided to go ahead and give it a try. The technician they sent out was great. He was very professional, courteous, and punctual. He did exactly what he stated he was gonna do and gave me a write-up of everything that he did once he left.

But the pest activity has been worse. The previous summer, I had lots of mosquitoes and they had since subsided. This year, I figured I'll be proactive. Prior to their first application, I didn't have any problems with bees, mosquitoes, flies, or anything like that. But after the application, it manifested tremendously. They were everywhere. I called the customer service line and there was no answer. I called back, left a message, and nobody called me back. At that point, I said I no longer want the service and that's where I'm at now. I've been going back and forth for almost weeks trying to get them to close and cancel my account and I've got no reply.

I called their help desk and all they can say is I need to talk to a contract or account specialist. They put me on hold and I'm on hold for an hour or more. They keep sending me emails saying I can go on the app and cancel that way. But I'm looking at the app up, side, and down and there's no way to cancel my account there. The only way I can go through is to call them.
