I am very disappointed in the cleaning services I have recently received. I had a cleaner show up yesterday, Jakkie, and she left my home dirtier and almost ruined my fixtures. I sprayed cleaner on the fixtures before she arrived to make it easier for her to clean. She did not clean the fixtures, which could have caused corrosion. It seems "house cleaning" has become a scam to make quick cash without doing the work. Please do a better job vetting and training cleaners. However, the handyman service is outstanding. I have been extremely pleased with the services I have received. Unfortunately, the majority of the cleaners are awful.

We ordered 2 TV, Mounts and installation service from Costco. Costco contracted Handy to get someone to do installation. It sounds like real. Handy sent emails and text to confirm the TV installation service, but there was no show when time comes. We tried to connect to the responsible person listed on Handy's email, the phone number is a dead one. When we called Handy, a lady claimed someone is on his way to our house and she even could see him on the map. Of course, this is all a lie. So, please do yourself a favor by trusting only your local companies with a real address and phone number for services. We will never use Handy again. Costco, etc. should remove Handy from their service list.

We signed up for Handy's cleaning subscription. After one poor cleaning, we were awarded a make-up session - which was a no show. So we scheduled another make-up session. Again, another no show. Finally, we had enough and wanted to cancel, which we were charged a $99 cancellation fee.

Legal action should be taken against Handy for what amounts to a repeated, organized theft against consumers. Please don't be lured in by their marketing gimmicks. They will charge you for services you never receive, services that don't meet basic expectations, services that not only don't accomplish the tasks you wanted, but sometimes leave you in a worse position than had you never used Handy in the first place. Their customer service (if it can be called that) is rude and irrational. They will blame you for Handy's gross incompetence and keep your money without blinking an eye. They don't have an interest in correcting their wrongs or even admitting what they did was wrong. Once they have your money, they could care less.
I used Handy for home cleaning services. The day of the cleaning, the person arrived 30 minutes late with no notice. When I opened the door, I saw a maybe 16 year old boy standing before me with nothing, but an itty bitty backpack - as if he had come over straight from school? He immediately stepped into my apartment without saying anything, threw his backpack into a corner and said "what do you want me to clean?" I told him that I had detailed everything that needed done in the app to which he replied he didn't have access to the app so he didn't know anything about this job. He also didn't have any cleaning supplies, which the app said he would supply. I had a few - but not enough to clean everything that needed cleaning. I gave him what I had mainly so that I could contact Handy and see if what I was experiencing was out of the ordinary.
I literally couldn't get a hold of anyone and was increasingly worried about the 16 year old with no cleaning supplies ability to effectively clean anything. I was right to be worried. In the time I had spent trying to contact Handy he somehow had managed to make my home more dirty than before he came including tearing a bag of trash that he tried carrying outside leaving a trail of garbage all the way down the hallway and pouring glass cleaner (?) all over the bathroom floor - like almost an entire bottle. There were HUGE puddles everywhere than would need to be soaked up with towels. At this point I was over it and asked him to leave which he did. I was promptly charged the full amount by Handy. I spent the better part of 2 hours trying to get a hold of them in various ways - phone, app, chat - and was given the runaround and disconnected multiple times.
When I finally was able to speak to someone I was elated as I figured anyone who heard the details of this experience would surely understand how ridiculous it all was. Nope. Handy claimed that according to them (?) the services had been rendered correctly. They wouldn't refund one penny and seemed to imply I was fabricating the story to receive a free house cleaning. They offered to give me a coupon off my next house cleaning at which time I informed them I would not only never be using their service again, but would inform every person I could about their scam business. I seriously think this is worst experience I've had with any business ever in my life. Please, do not ever use Handy for ANYTHING.

My friend suggested I use Handy to book a cleaning for my friend's place after we had party there. Booking was easy, cleaner did poor job, my friend said not much was cleaned and trash was not taken out. Since this is one time service, I let it go and try to cancel service. This is where my nightmare begins. Handy does not let you cancel next cleaning, you can reschedule with a fee but you would have to do it every two weeks. After spending hours trying to cancel my membership- I had to delete my account- nothing else was available.
My friend moved out of that apartment but Handy continued to send cleaner every two weeks, without any email or text notification. The only way to find out that my account is still live is $256 dollars charges every two weeks on my cc. I am talking to the customer service and they are still not canceling or deleting my account. They are not helpful but opposing- they said they will try to send me different cleaner??!! I explained that this is for a friend who no longer lives there and I don’t need a cleaner for my place, I just need to cancel. It’s still an email battle but I am going to dispute with my CC. Do yourself a favor- don’t book them or read all of their policy and make sure you have no other cleaning options before you open an account because you can’t go back. You will be locked for months with the service that was terrible but not able to cancel.

Weber Grills advertises Handy as a partner and Handy's FIXED $99 grill installation. Click through, book the appointment, and the installer quits after 2 hours, saying I need to extend the job and pay more. UNBELIEVABLE. The first person I spoke to on the phone was extremely rude and said she could not help because their systems were down. After contacting Weber (refused to stand by their partner's shoddy work and help out) and Home Depot (willing to step in even though it's not their fault), I finally got Handy chat support and they are going to send someone else out to finish the job. However, I will NEVER use Handy again and this review remains at 1 star because the consumer should not have to fight so hard to get what he was promised.

Handy had a pro to provide cleaning services for me twice. The pro told me that he was the only one cleaning for Handy. After 2 cleanings, my pro never showed or cancelled with me the 3rd time. I was told after the fact and after I paid that he quit. They gave me a new time and date that didn't work for me so I rescheduled for this morning. Again, at the last minute, the person didn't show. Both times, I had taken time off work to make sure I was home.
I called customer service. They didn't want to help me at all, but finally after being passed off to the second person, they said they would credit my account for the call-off, as well as cancel my year commitment without penalizing me the $99. Well, they did credit my account, but say nothing in their follow-up email about cancelling my account. In fact, they say that my cleaning has been rescheduled. At this point, I don't want anyone from that company stepping foot in my home. I don't trust their words or actions at this point.

The cleaners constantly cancel last minute or just don’t show up at all. The worst part is the cleaner will check in, making it look like they are at your house, so they can just steal your money, and Handy 100% allows this. The scariest part is these people who now can’t be trusted because they are doing shady stuff like this now have your address!!! This is an unsafe and unreliable business. It would be better to find a stranger off the street. Then after the cleaner doesn’t show, they still won’t refund you. Don’t risk it.

This service is 1000% a scam, regardless of what cleaning service you select. I choose to select a home cleaning service through their app. They debited my account, and selected a cleaning pro for me prior to the date, standard. The scam comes in when whoever the pro was, checked in on the app, to make it look like they were indeed rendering the cleaning service, but never showed up, quite literally ghosted me, took my money, and did not show up at all to clean. This is clearly a well-practiced scam. I am now having to haggle with the customer service because the cleaning pro made it look like they checked in, and went through with the service, but the cleaning pro never showed up, and never replied to me.

I was a pro at Angie's services / Handy and I worked for them, completed over 50 jobs. Anytime you need help from customer service as a pro working for them you might as well forget it and they suggest that if a customer needs help purchasing materials that you do such otherwise how are you going to complete the job but then if you don't pretty much work it out and get it out of the customer right then and there, guess who's going to help you get your money back or if you fight with them for a few days, you might get them to do something about it, there's one problem.
Second problem as a pro, they send you out on these jobs that requires two people to lift and move some things and they send you out there by yourself and just expect you to do it or figure it out yet you're supposed to have a background check in order to do this job. But I had to call my son and have him come help me move some stuff one day because they wouldn't send out another pro and not to mention about the background check thing, not proud of this. But I've had a warrant for a year, nothing bad. I'm not going to say what it's for and I'm not a bad person but I've had a warrant for a year while I work for this company. Today they kept sending me emails and texts over and over again asking me to update my payment information so I did this numerous times and then it kept telling me that I couldn't get my pay from them so I got a hold of customer service.
I wasn't the nicest about it but I was tired of getting ran around from them instead of them helping me. You know what they did - they kicked me off the platform and kept my $200 that they owed me, that I was supposedly harassing them about if you owe me money and it's payday, why am I the one person that has to suffer and not get my pay. So if you work for these guys, you might want to follow exactly everything I said and be real cautious. Don't ever purchase materials ahead of time for anybody cause you're going to go through problems trying to get your money back and for whatever sakes if they seem to think you're out of line for some reason, regardless what it is, apparently they will just kick you off the platform and keep your money, strong arm you basically.
I got strong-armed, Robbed via computer-based company. You know, it's pretty ridiculous that this place is still even existing. They need to be put out of business is probably what they need from all the other reviews I've seen on here. It looks like that's where they're headed cause nobody's had anything decent to say about them and everybody's had problems with them. I knew it wasn't just me. I didn't do anything wrong. I went out and did my job and worked for them and then you know, they didn't carry their end of the bargain as far as payment goes and then, in the end, turn around and ripped me off all together. I hope that somebody can do something about this. Nothing else, if it keeps another person from this happening to them, it's all worth it. I guess never felt so humiliated in my life I don't think.

Google apparently has a deal with Handy so that when your Nest thermostat detects issues with your HVAC system it alerts you and suggests you book the service with Handy. Since many HVAC contractors I've dealt with don't understand the Nest or blame any issues on the thermostats, I thought this was a good idea. Boy, was I wrong. I've been trying to book an appointment for almost a month, and as a result have had a constant stream of last-minute cancellations, reschedules and then Handy cancelling my request (while making it look like I wanted to cancel it) without refunding my deposit. It turns out that, in the fine print of their customer service agreement, they don’t give refunds, only credit for future service. Totally deceptive practice. As a worker we can’t speak to a person on the phone. It’s only through their app messaging but to be told the next time I reach out to receive my pay just to be told, "No history. We will reach out to the customer." Customer confirms I need the extra pay and still no money in my account. 39 of my customers stated they will not use them, HomeAdvisor, Thumbtack and for their jobs. They are a joke.

I am a cleaning person. In my opinion this app is not only run by crooks who just want to nickel and dime you to death but they have absolutely NO concern for the clients safety. At this time if you cancel not only are you charged for the cancelation now but your bid still remains on the workers account if they have accepted the job. Therefore this person or Crew of persons still has your address, is still planning on earning money for that day and is still coming to your property! My concern for clients is not only for their privacy but for their safety. The most recent client I went to was elderly. Very with it but nonetheless they could not get in contact with ANYONE to cancel or even state that the job had been completed!
I was irritated with the loss of potential income at first but the more I thought about it the more I realized there was a much bigger issue here. I am willing to bet that there are loopholes in this system where NOT EVERYONE IS VETTED. I.E. crew services and what not. If mowing Joe has to let someone go because of a cancelation or garbage like this app, what's stopping that vengeful ex-employee from returning to the last location later on to get his money's worth? Nothing. Please do not use this app and make sure your loved ones know the dangers of letting people into their homes.

If you don't show up to a job you get charged a fee. Understandable but once you confirm via phone and text with client check in to the job and make a report of client not home that should be the end. They scam with paying their pros.
I had a job for a outdoor patio set. The client said he paid $480 for assembly and I only got $64 dollars. After trying to contact Handy and letting them know I did show up they blame it on their GPS not being able to show I was at the client's home to set up. I would stay away if you need anything assembled. I have did over +100 jobs with handy and this is the third time I have been charged a fee for no reason at all. I have lost over $1030 due to them taking fees and once they claim the client says the pro didn't show they cancel all jobs for the next 3 days. When I remarked that the foam insulation was not installed correctly he simply remarked that it is the best way for my window setting.
He left. He also left out installing mandatory anti-tip brackets and did not use a level for pitch. So today I have a teetering air conditioner up 3 floors over people and gaps for insects to come into my residence and support brackets that are not hugging the exterior wall. We were told we were in good hands and everything would be fine. They sent us a guy to install the door the guy cut the frame of the door that it came with. Cut the sheetrock around our door and make it bigger than before. He spent 8 hours and still could not fix the door and the mess that he made. Around 11:00 pm He told us he has to go home. He will come back the next day. Next day, he called me and told us we have to pay him more money on top of what we already paid.
We called again they sent us another guy who claim that the first guy really messed up and it will take him a lot of time to fix it. We must pay him $320 more. Three hours into the job with 80% of the job not finish and things looking the same way as when he started. He told us that it was his kid's birthday and he has to leave. We were fed up even though the job was not finish we paid him. Now, that we see these people doesn't know what they are doing we opened a claim for our damaged door. We sent them pictures and they told us they would get back to us. Two days later we received an email they are asking me to bring the claim to my homeowner's insurance. We told them if they wanted us to commit fraud. They responded they are working on it.
We kept calling every week and they never said anything and today is June when we emailed them. They said, they send the claim form and we did not sign it on time that my claim was denied. Do you think we would not sign this form when we have been waiting and calling every week. The reason we never responded is because they never send any forms. Like we told them they are liars! The company is impossible to reach by phone....I'm a Pro and even I can't and never ever have been able to get a human being on the phone...Everything is through their chat/email.. I assume they subcontract their customer service with a third party because they're totally uninformed, rude and at times just copy and paste canned responses to concerns.
As a Pro we don't work for Handy...We are considered self-employed so have no benefits or insurance on the job. They are very deceptive and misleading in their documents regarding when/how they pay for work done....At times charging the Pro for customer cancellations. If you as customer book a service they only pay their pros about 25% of the fee overall....So a $99 assembly earns less than $25 for the Pro. These jobs are also usually far more difficult and take about twice as long than they estimate to complete...If a Pro stays any later to complete the job but doesn't have Handy charge the customer for additional time the Pro receives nothing additional..
Keep in mind the additional time charged usually runs the rate of the initial fee...Again the Pro sees only 25% of that extra charge they tack on..They do not reimburse travel or any costs aside from possible parts where if the Pro buys it they submit a receipt to Handy who then tries to charge the customer...You see the money on the next pay period. As a Pro you bring your own cleaning supplies and power tools. If you get injured you're on your own....They insure the client but not the pro. They expect low pay jobs to be balanced by tips received from the client.
As for your first paycheck don't expect it right away even if you meet their arbitrary $50 in earnings....It doesn't count until it's paid out to you so get ready to wait for up to two weeks....For people in financial pain don't worry....They charge you a fee to cash out early AFTER the first paycheck. They absolutely don't care whatsoever about their Pros. My advice is pay the $25 fee for TaskRabbit and only take Handy jobs when you're so desperate for cash that you'd rather get screwed by Handy than by a stranger offering you money to do it.

Most of the time when I try to contact clients as in message or call it says there is an error that has occurred almost every time so even if I'm running 10 minutes late I am unable to let the client know leaving them to be upset with me.
There's been times where I've completed a job and hours later a client has somehow been able to canceled and I never received my money. Instead of making it known that she had come without anything necessary to do the job she was hired for, she walked through our house with filthy shoes and started wiping our bathroom with water and all of our paper towels.
I was working in my home office and went to check on the progress. I found clumps of mud from her shoe dirt mixed with water all over my hallway, bathroom, and kitchen. When I pointed this out politely, she seemed as if this was not a problem. I then proceeded to cancel the "service" after an extremely long conversation with customer service. I've never had a credit or background check like they claim they do for all of us. Yes there are some who work for them that are bad news. I'm not the best at what I do but I work hard and as far as I know have very few who were dissatisfied. Recently I was booked for a job that I could not get to because Google Maps could not find the location and was basically told the address didn't exist. I followed protocol and tried several times to make some sort of contact with the customer to verify the location. The pro app told me the customer had not set up their cell phone and that is why I couldn't contact them.
I followed by what the help center listed as to how to handle the matter. Later I get notified the customer marked me as a no show and I was to pay a $100 fee... double the highest listed fee they put in writing. I disputed the fee and explained my end of it. Not long after I get a email saying they took care of it but no other details, especially the all important how was it resolved and was I still getting penalties for a job I had absolutely no way of knowing how to get to or contacting anyone to verify... Had a job this evening which I was able to find and arrive on time and even finished faster than the estimated length of time.
When I went to check my payments on the app they took the whole fee I was to get from the job and will be taking my pay for the next couple jobs. No reasonable payment agreements. I can't quit yet because I have customers for another 2 weeks out still and bills to pay. I filed another dispute and also informed them I'm going to consult with an attorney. I've been on a job with another pro and find out that even though we were both on the same job it wasn't for the same pay and to turn a job down in the right cancelation time window for any legit reason still comes with a penalty.
My sincere apologies to those who have had under qualified workers ruin what should of been a positive experience. Many times jobs I got booked for were visits to fix what the last pro failed to do correctly. I tried to handle my disputes in a civil manner but the company showed me just how much they don't care and are just about money and failed to even handle anything so now I need to show ethics and help protect customers... I love the type of work I do. I try to be as courteous and knowledgeable as I can but always make sure my work can speak for itself.

The last person they sent to my home failed to bring the supplies I paid extra for, he botched the job, and then left in a hurry. Upon hiring a competent person to finish the job, they showed me how he completely destroyed a brand new, in the box ceiling fan. He even threw away the blades to it!!!! I applied to Handy and was accepted. On my first job the app wouldn't let me check in or check out and I tried to explain this the company and was treated very rudely only to find out they charged me a fee for not checking in or out which took the $50 I made on the job and the $50 the customer gave me as a tip for doing such a great job. They even took down my contact info for future work so they wouldn't have to go thru Handy ever again.
I ended up doing around $400 in work in just one week and still have not been compensated for this work. I tried to contact them yesterday only to learn they have deleted my account. There has to be something that someone can do about this. It isn't right by no means. Especially the consumers getting ripped off not to mention myself that was dependant on this money to pay my rent and now I can't and will more than likely be evicted. DO NOT USE HANDY! It's a scam and rip off. My pros called 30 minutes before my appointment and said they were running late on their current job. I said it was ok if they came late and rescheduled an appointment. Then, they called a few hours later saying they needed to eat and change clothes and asked if they could come the following day. I didn't really have much of a choice so I said yes since they said they had run over on the job before mine. I allowed them to come the next day but they were unable to complete the job bc they needed a taller ladder. They said the taller ladder wouldn't fit in their car and that their other vehicle was in the shop. They left and said they would let me know when they could come back. In the meantime, my lights are hanging off of my home and cords are hanging from the roof. My HOA has threatened to fine me if it's not fixed or taken down by 5 because it looks terrible.
When I reached out to the pros, they said they'd be able to come by at around 4 but I'm not confident they will be able to be done today/before dark. I reached out to Handy, no phone number for customer service which is insane. I told them I'd like a refund and someone to either come to finish the job or take the lights down today. They made me send them pics of the situation as if I were making the whole thing up. Once I sent pics, they stated that someone could come in 48 hours or more. I re-explained that it needed to be done by 5 and that I am an unemployed female disabled veteran and have no means of taking them down (or else I wouldn't have needed to hire them in the first place). It should have been done by now yet this has been in progress for 3 days which is unacceptable. So now I'm out $200 for this crappy service and $120 for the HOA fine. Unbelievable. The next time, they didn't show up at all. I had to fight terribly to get a refund on what I had paid. I did get a partial refund. I then cancelled. But the cancellation didn't take. I cancelled again a month later. The cancellation didn't take again. There is supposed to be a $99 cancellation fee - but they didn't even try to charge it. When I called, the lady offered no apology and simply stated they would reschedule me and NOT CHARGE ME. I was confused, when would any company charge someone for their employee not showing up and doing what is expected of them. The installer never showed up. So they rescheduled and took 10% off for the next day. An hour before, I got a message stating they had to reschedule for 2 days later instead, because they could not find a "professional" to install. I had to take both days off to be here, essentially costing me money.
They also sent me 2x "you have successfully canceled your appointment" when in fact the first one was rescheduled, the second, I wasn't even consulted...they just rescheduled for me. I called them and had them cancel it altogether. I asked for a refund, and was successful, but beware, because they mark reschedules as 'cancellations" on your part, if it's within 2 hours of arrival, you won't get refunded. What this means is, on the first scheduled appointment, if I wanted a refund, it would not have qualified. The second day only worked because they made the appointment for more than 24 hours later. In essence, they could continue cancelling on customers and refusing refund. I decided to set up the camera myself, which only took 15 minutes. This past time I booked a pro to clean my mother's empty house and the pro assigned was somehow both New to Handy but also listed as working for Handy for a year. After my mother left the house, the pro left, along with the cleaning supplies my mother gave her to clean the house. She didn't contact me through the app, or my mother through her phone. This is an individual pro issue.
The problem with the company (hence this review) is they removed all history of even booking the pro from my page, so I could not report on it. There is also no one to contact, just submit emails without a specific service/pro to effectively/efficiently raise an issue with so Handy can be informed and that pro can have a record & rating of a bad or unprofessional service.

However, Handy.com rescheduled us THREE TIMES over two weeks within TWO HOURS of our booking. We kept taking off work in order to be there when the handyman arrived, and then the morning of, within 1-2 hours of our booking start time, we would just get an automated text telling us "the professional scheduled to assist you today had to cancel last minute and we have rescheduled you". We have to give them 48 hours notice, and they get to give us NO notice? Where's OUR cancellation fee?
The third time, they just flat-out cancelled the booking entirely and texted "your Handy booking has been cancelled due to an emergency with your professional, we're refunding your card, you should see the money arrive back within 5 days". Never saw a single handyman, never got a phone call apologizing or explaining, nothing. Just held our money for weeks, lied, made it impossible for us to hire a legitimate repairman in the meantime, and communicated solely via texts. Well that what I thought until further investigation. Handy, provides pros different jobs on their app and they'll give you the price they'll pay. Sounds good until you click on the job you're interested in and decide to accept it. The app then proceeds to bring up a notice about cancelations and the prices they will charge you (the pro) for any cancelations with less than 48 hours. Which means that if you accept a job post less than 48 hours, you will see less money in your paycheck than they said they'd pay you and your rate will go down.
There's a few problems wrong with this but my main problem focuses on something that's not completely honest on their end. Rather you canceled a job earlier than 48 hours or less, your ratings will drop. The problem? Once you've accepted a job, They proceed to give you the details of what needs to be done. Suppose there was something that you weren't able to do or willing to do on that job description or suppose it'd take much more time than they'll pay you for? Well either accept that dropped rating and perhaps money being pulled from your next job. That's right. They will lure you into a job with the amount they will pay you WITHOUT giving you ANY details until AFTER you've accepted the job.
Suppose you really don't want that rating drop and you decide to accept that job. It's either, you do whatever that job is and hope your customer will be easy on you for trying to get it all done before the pay time is up and not give a bad rating, or you work over the pay time and not get paid for the extra time you worked. Regardless your ratings do definitely work for or against you. Bad ratings equal Handy to kick you out of their services. In the long run handy is sneaky handedly treating its pros like another number and getting away with it.
Going back to the job descriptions. Handy is not always accurate in what needs to be done. It's also not always accurate with how far away a job is. 10 miles away does not equal a whole 2h 49min drive! And I'm not going that far to only work for 4 hours and come back hoping that another 2h 49min drives becomes longer due to traffic! That's the whole paycheck!
I went to a customer's house and was ready to do everything the description told me. As a cleaner, I brought all of my cleaning equipment and supplies and after meeting the customer, she said she only wanted me to do some organizing and no cleaning. She told a representative of Handy what she was looking for and thought that they'd give me the memo. Well I got a memo but the wrong one. Here's where things get deeper. She was charged $187 for me to simply organize her closet and It wasn't hard and it really wasn't going to take as long as she expected. Needless to say she shouldn't have been charged as much as it was.
The other problem here is after listening to the price she paid $187, I only got paid $80 from Handy! They say that they only take 20 percent of our earnings but look at those the amount they charged her and how much they paid me. Does that look like 20 percent was taken out or more than 20 percent? I managed to keep my customer ratings at a 5 star rating but averaged a 57 rating with canceling some jobs. To save your eyes from baring anymore rolling from side to side glancing at words, my Idea my advice. Be careful. They do their pros much dirtier than they portray.

So far my experience with both booking services and with their customer service has been trash. I’ve had my appointment rescheduled 3 times and cancelled once because of ‘last minute call outs’. I tried scheduling at a time I choose, going with when they re-scheduled me, choosing a specific pro and choosing from their availability, and none of it worked. When I asked for a refund and my plan to be cancelled because obviously I’m never getting an appointment to show up, I was told there was a $99 cancellation fee because I received a discounted service….which I never received because the appointment was rescheduled! I’ve been going back and forth with this customer service rep, but the responses are word for word the same, so they’re either a robot or are just sending pre-written emails.

I scheduled a service call for my A/C. The provider did not show and did not contact me. Handy.com contacted me via text message to verify that the service was complete. When I responded negatively, they said that someone from Handy.com would reach out to me "shortly". Sixteen hours later, I finally contacted them to request a refund. They did promptly respond and agree to refund. But it was a lesser amount than I was originally to have been charged. When I called to verify that they would refund the correct amount, the service rep told me I had to work through Google Pay (or something like that) as they did not have access to the billing. I find this to be unacceptable. I turns out that they charged me the lesser amount originally. So, assuming that they actually do refund me, I suppose they get that right. Small consolation for the worst experience that I have ever had in trying to service done.

I booked Handy.com through Samsung.com when I purchased my new Samsung Frame TV for installation. The service was priced at $80 plus tax. When the technician arrived he admitted he did not have experience in installing the low profile bracket that comes with the TV. I had the TV in the Styrofoam next the wall for installation and when he moved it, he put a large, black scratch in the wall. The line was deep as well and would require patching and smoothing as well as painting.
From there I needed to show him the brackets he needed to install. In his first attempt, he found the stud and put in the first screw. He measured the back of the TV and started to align the second bracket. At this point I had to show him he was installing it upside down and backward. After not quite getting what I has saying, I had to have him take off the bracket and show him on the TV. He then understood the system and reinstalled though by now I had multiple holes in the wall. He had the remains of a wall patch silicon that he tried to fill them with but didn't have enough.
He then spent the next hour removing and repositioning the first bracket and measuring for the second one. He put more holes in the wall and could never get the second bracket aligned and installed. I finally asked him to leave when we tried to screw in a plastic drywall anchor from the front side of the metal bracket. At this point it was clear he was not well trained in general much less with Samsung's specific product I contract to install.
I reached out to Samsung and answered their survey giving the installation the lowest marks possible. I also contacted Handy.com and asked them what they would do to repair and remedy the poor installation attempt. They asked me to estimate repairs and calculated about $400 to fill all the extra holes, repair the scratch and repaint my wall. They agreed to these numbers but only if I would sign a onerous and one sided NDA. It included a clause that would put me liable for $5,000 in penalty for statement about the incident in the past or future. This would mean I would have already violated the agreement giving Samsung the feedback that their installer performed poorly.
I decided I would not put my self at risk and it was better to alert everyone to their lack of qualified and trained personnel. I wanted to make sure that Samsung understood that the product they were offering was subpar, all of which I could not do if I accepted their offer to fix what they damaged. Think about how many people have taken the money rather than disclose their incompetence. I do not recommend their services.

I left with my dogs when she arrived and I got home about 15 minutes before she was scheduled to be finished. The woman was gone and so were many of my valuable things. Handy claims they guarantee their vetting system but I can’t even get them to give me a phone number to contact them. They will correspond only through email.
I reported to the police but Handy will only give me an email address for the police to contact them with. No specific name of someone to ask for just a generic email. Each email they send me is from someone different. They have the report but they keep claiming they don’t. They should have this woman’s information and give it to the police. They advertise that they covered my area, booked and rescheduled THREE times, one hour before they were supposed to be here. Then they charge you $99 to cancel, and tell you that it can be applied to some other 'select service', but what they don't tell you is that you are once again ROPED in for a year, and they will continue to bill you. And it does you no good to have 'select service' if no one shows up or no one covers your area. It's consumer fraud when you charge for a service that you never receive. STAY away from handy.com. Each time I would email the handy folks to complain someone different would answer my email. One of them even stated the technician had already completed the job. On top of all of that the tech that came to my home couldn't figure out how to install my new disposal and I ended up getting under the sink with him and figuring it out. After 3 hours they had partially assembled only the top part, then told Bob the door didn't fit, told him to request more time for them (for them to get paid more than the 100) and left.
We got it out and looked at it and the door would have fit fine, but these "professionals" who told him they are housecleaners, had put the piece of wood the latches go on in the back and then made extra screw holes by putting the cardboard on. It was glued and screwed. They absolutely ruined the piece and took off and turned the job in as complete. When I called the number, the woman on the phone said they turned it in as complete and in the next breath said I don't exist in their system, I need to call Walmart. I told her no I don't, it was Handy who sent these "professionals" out. She had the nerve to ask if I wanted more of their "professionals" to come out. Save your money and peace of mind and stay away from this service! The pros you chose are rarely the ones who actually show up. Handy makes changes to your booking, always within 24h from the appointment, without ANY notifications and if you cancel or reschedule because you're not happy with the pro they automatically assign they will charge you penalty fees. You should be able to choose who you let in your home for a service YOU PAY for. I have opted for only females, but was constantly assigned men, and when I contacted customer service to ensure that that doesn't happen, they said that the pros are independent contractors and they cannot guarantee anything. The gender preference is just a preference, not a hard rule.
To make matters worse, I was recently threatened by one of their pros because I didn't cancel a booking to which she didn't want to come because I was too far and it wasn't worth it for her, and she wanted me to change it because she didn't want to pay Handy a 40$ refusal fee. HEED MY WARNING: It has been 4 weeks and one day since Handy, the worst home repair service out here, has marred the walls of my apartment and refuses to fix the damage. It has been more than 6 weeks since the FIRST unprofessional, irresponsible, inept, bumbling, worker who originally wreaked havoc on my walls.
Handy, the absolute worst repair service on the market, sent a guy named Yuri to my home who was clueless about hanging a shelf. I gave him all the details that he needed before he arrived. He still came unprepared. For an item that required 6 holes in a concrete wall, he drilled 19 and then did not have the equipment to repair the damage, so in the middle of the install he leaves to get supplies to repair the damage and then was incapable of finishing the the job that he destroyed.
Yuri left me with 13 nickel sized holes in my wall and then just left. Then I discovered that Yuri not only damaged my walls and then just left but he didn't even hang the shelf securely! It precariously hung above my head where I had to walk past it everyday multiple times with the fear that it would fall on my head. In addition, he also left an incredible mess everywhere. During the three weeks that it took for Handy to send someone to repair the damage, myself or my dogs could have been killed by this extremely heavy shelf that was precariously installed above my head.
After 3 WEEKS of complaints, arguments, filling out the same forms multiple times talking to multiple people who were just as confused about their job as Yuri was, Handy's dispute department told me that they didn't know how to rectify the situation themselves and there was nothing else they could do. CB2 tried and failed to rectify the situation a couple of times. Finally they were able to get someone from HomeAdvisor, which is apparently the same company as Handy, to come and repair what the last guy destroyed.
Marcel fixed the shelf so that it wouldn't fall, then started the repairs on the wall. Marcel took pictures of the semi finished job and said that he would submit the report that he had to return to complete the repairs, and no surprise, Handy never followed through. The end result: after 6 weeks of fussing and arguing with these people: my perfect, newly renovated, smooth wall that Handy destroyed, now has holes, bumps, lumps, and chunks of wet dried paint hanging from the shelves. HANDY destroyed my property. They should never be allowed into anyone's home to repair anything. These are potentially dangerous and clearly destructive people who are NOT professionals at all. These are clearly handymen who couldn't get jobs anywhere else so they fall in the lap of Handy.

I have a lot on my plate and was looking to simplify and eat an extra cost if it meant I didn't have to struggle so much. One of their cleaners accidentally spilled an wall plug in on my wooden hutch. The oils stripped the wood and completely ruined my solid wood EXPENSIVE hutch.
I was horrified and immediately reached out to Handy, as you pay for insurance for each cleaning. It took days for them to reply and after many back and forth emails, mainly me continuing to email without reply they sent a handy man to fix it. He did not fix it and left me with stain and a tiny paintbrush (that I had to buy) to try to fill in the stripped wood with stain. This took hours to do. It did not work as this is not how you fix this kind of damage. I reached out to handy with more pictures and they assured me they would take care of it. - This is after weeks of me sending emails pleading for help with this issue, getting automated emails saying that they received my email and gave me time frames for a reply that were rarely met.
They then needed an estimate to fix it. I told them this would take time which they assured me was fine. One recent email even said I had 30 days from December 30th. A few days later I got another email saying my case was closed because it was over 30 days. I gave the estimate and sent a long email. Mind you, it is still within the 30 day window. Since then I sent 4-5 emails (at least). They won't reply at all now. I am now left with a very upsetting damage in my home. An extremely stressful back and forth and I am left helpless as they just refuse to respond. This lack of accountability is unsettling and upsetting. Mind you I am still obligated to continue and pay for cleanings.

Omg this company is the worst, so I schedule a cleaning for 12-12-20 at 3pm and the lady said she wouldn't be able to make it, to cancel the appointment. So I did I haven't gotten my refund back. I also had a booking for today 12-23-20 at 2pm and no one showed up. But guess what they took the money out my account. The communication is terrible too. Everything is and email no phone number. I tried to cancel the service and they want to charge me 99.00 to cancel like really you have about 200.00 already. I'm so upset.

Don't use this service!!!! No one shows after they confirm appointment. A recording calls 2 hours before scheduled time to say they have no one coming! They continue to charge for future appointments that they don't keep. If you want to cancel there is a $99 fee!!! In my opinion, total scam! Reporting to BBB.

This “Handy” company is unreliable and not worth the time and money you have to pay for their non-existent service! I (re)scheduled my appointment for an install on 12/1 at 1 pm. Handy confirmed my appointment and sent me a reminder via email for the above mentioned day and time. Much to MY SURPRISE, the “handy pro” was a NO-SHOW and they rescheduled my “handy pro” service to another day and time (@7:30pm!) without any notice or preapproval from me! REALLY?!!? How do they know my personal schedule??? They better refund me ALL of my money cause I will not use or refer them to anyone EVER!!!

Stay clear of this company. There is no real commitment to provide the service you are looking for. You think you can count on the agreed upon service, then the morning of the expected service, nobody shows up. I tried 4 separate times (4th time just as a test). Never did the cleaning service show up. The first one failed me the final day we had to be out of our house upon sale. Needless to say, this failed service was a real inconvenience. After the failed appointments, I received inquiries from Handy, as if they really cared. The responses were automated canned responses. What a joke. Save yourself the disappointment and go with another cleaning service.

Just terrible! First off, the person who they sent had a definite affect and was not a mentally stable person. I say this With no judgment, but the person had such a significant affect, that I did not feel safe. In four hours she cleaned a very small bathroom and a very small kitchen. She cleaned a few surfaces in the dining room and in a living room. None of the bedrooms the halls or any other areas were cleaned. This was my first cleaning with this service. Handy offers a first cleaning discount when You go into a six month contract with them. After this experience they are trying to charge me $100 to cancel the contract. Needless to stay I will be disputing this with my credit card company. After this first experience I never wanna deal with them again.
In no way was I going to continue with a contract for five additional cleanings with this company when they sent out someone who is this incapable of cleaning my house. She was continuously interrupting me, I was working from home, and she was Insistent on showing me what she cleaned. I was on a phone call, a business phone call, she saw the phone to my ear, but she interrupted trying to show me she clean the tub. That was bonkers....I cannot believe anyone would even do that. When she came in I also showed her where all the cleaning supplies were, yet she was asking me to go retrieve and get supplies for her while I was working.
When I tried to not acknowledge her conversations and continue with my day, she was Insistent that I knowledged everything she cleaned to such a demanding level. It took numerous, numerous emails back-and-forth with Handy to knowledge that this was a ridiculously Unprofessional Cleaning that I had. It took even more emails for them to refund my credit card, only after I Let them know that I would report them to the Better Business Bureau as well as American Express.
I did get a refund. I should get more because of the aggravation. I cannot tell you, I cannot urge you enough to not do business with handy. You don’t know who’s coming into your house. I keep a very neat house but because of work Demands, I like to have the aid of a cleaning service once a month. This was a frightening experience but a Lesson learned. I have had cleaners for the last 30 years. Some good some very good but never as bad as this experience.

First time I used Handy was in 2019 after a Wayfair purchase. Pro did a great job and the charge was reasonable. This time Handy charged $160 for what I needed done, but no pro would take the easy job. Reason? They would have only been paid $30 for it. Cancelled it and put it together myself. Won’t use Handy again.
