Bought a 49" Haier TV today at Costco and it worked perfectly for about 2 hrs and the screen went black. It was quite funny as I had just finished reading all the horrible reviews online. I am glad it happened today and I can return it tomorrow. And as suggested I'll purchase a brand name TV instead. We had a Toshiba (one of those old huge heavy ones) which we got free a few years ago and that only stopped working last week so, I can see how brand names are worth paying a bit more for.

Just bought the 49", and did not get to see the remote prior to the purchase. The letters are almost invisible, being a dark gray on black making it very hard to see. It makes you wonder what were they thinking??? The TV is great on HD but not good otherwise.

Haier is a beautiful tv. The colors and graphics are amazing. It is a great tv. The price was exceptional also. The flat screen is easy to clean (Please don't use harsh chemical's on any flat screen). Movie's and T.V. shows look phenomenal. The T.V. is 6-8 lbs which is easy for almost anyone to move. Looking to buy another for my bedroom soon.

I have had my 40" Haier HD 1081 since January 2007 and although it was a little pricier 10 years ago ($1200) the picture/sound, etc. are still top notch. I have two 24" Insignia TV's in bedrooms (paid $100/each) and they are perfect in every way for viewing from bed. There is always a new hype on newer models that will do this or that but --really!!- get over it. I want a TV to be a TV not a computer or streaming device.

I bought this TV at Kohl's because of the great price! Well, the old saying is you get what you pay for, is true! This TV has caused a few issues when trying to watch it. First of all, the sound is terrible! Very tiny and echoes. Fortunately I have a BOSE system, so I hooked them up. The sound is now fine, except I have to use another remote to adjust the sound. For some reason the BOSE sound just stops mid program. It only does it when I am watching the TV. Very odd. Music is fine for hours.
Also, the TV takes "forever" to get the picture! I keep getting blue screens and then with the name HAIER on the screen. Then some other info about the HMDI and finally the picture and sound. Takes anywhere from 10-30 seconds to get the picture. Now the picture is too large for the screen so I miss the channel info at the bottom. The whole TV was a mistake to buy. I am thinking of returning and paying more for a name brand TV. It is heavy and a pain to bring it back.

Haier-65UF2505-65-in.-4K-Ultra-HD-LED-TV. Purchased from Costco (Newmarket, ON). Clerk was negative because it was a Chinese company... What isn't made in China! Price point was superior to all others offering same features. You have a 90 day return policy (test drive period), 2 year warranty and an extended warranty for three more years ($60). At $750 what do you have to lose... It then becomes a throw away like many other items we buy today. Sound is tiny and customising the settings isn't very good but a decent sound bar which can be used for years will make the difference. Good picture with several options to view. Cost with extended warranty for five years is $162/year. Go for it. Maybe some of the other manufacturers might consider adjusting their market price to accommodate the changing demographics. I do think some of them are greedy. Like appliances only a handful of manufacturers make all the units and brand name them.

I suppose to give 0.5 Star, system not allowing. Haier brand is total waste. I bought Haier LED tv in 2014. The main reason for getting this product is, compare to other brand it was low cost. But from the date of purchase, 6 Months once I am changing my TV motherboard. Even service is very worst, they take at least a week to solve your issue. Please go with any other brand, except Haier. Here I couldn't able to find 0.5 Star rating, that's a reason I am providing 1 star.

I am so disappointed! I purchased a Haier 32" TV 02-2015 and it stopped working 05-2016. I thought TV's were meant to last longer than a year and two months, did I miss something? I feel so stupid! I paid for it on terms and in advance so I have one payment left and no TV. I went to Conn's Appliances and got ripped off. My TV light at the bottom would come on but no picture! Then it just stopped working altogether. I unplugged it and plugged it up, pressed buttons and it would come on but after two times it would not work. I called Conn's. I spoke with everybody and the only option I was given was to come in and pay 80.00 dollars to have fixed or see if it can be repaired!!! EVERYBODY! said no to me. Warranty expired 3 months afterwards... I am watching an old TV from at least 15 years ago... I have one more payment! Do you think I should pay it out?

I like the flat screens TV of Haier. They have good resolutions at the price we paid for the TV. At Php 9,995.00 (equivalent to US$ 213.36), we get what we pay for. I also like its media player (have the USB that contains the movies and insert it to TV, and you have the USB). Well I caved and bought a 65" Haier from Costco and am nothing but pleased. I usually stick to LG but for 699.99 it was an amazing deal. Saying that I will be returning it due to an issue with a white spot that is centered but iI'll be re-buying the same tv due to the fact that I believe it's the tv I got not the model. I find the sound on all TVs to not be great but I also know TVs are made with focus on picture quality over sound and a soundbar is the best option and really is worth it anyway. I would definitely recommend this brand for the cost savings and to be honest TVs are marked up way more than they should just because of the name and Haier is more than great for their price points for what you get. Very happy.

I wish I could give this a quarter of a star. The sound is HORRIBLE. I was told by the people from Badcock that this was an American-made TV. However, upon reading it looks like it's an Indian-made TV. I bought 2 32" TVs for Xmas for my kids and they look nice... But I was surprised by how crappy they sound. Who puts speakers on the BOTTOM of the TV? You can barely hear it when you sit in front of it but can hear it loudly in another room??? Poorly made... No smell but it's making some weird transforming sound. I turn it upside down and saw another switch. I turn it off then on. Now it's working normal. I'm kinda skeptic if it will happen again. Hope it's just friction. Now I'm scared to turn it back on. It's working fine now but need some recommendation please. The sparking light is from the top of red and black wires.

Purchased HAIER 50" LED HDTV today at Costco in Calgary, Alberta Canada. Beacon Hill branch. I was not familiar with the brand and had a hunch I should go for the LG or Samsung... But the price savings were tempting and the picture quality was only marginally inferior to the comparable and more expensive brands I just mentioned. I never considered sound quality at the store. All the tv's for obvious reasons were on mute.
When I got home and connected up the television, I was totally floored by the poor quality sound. Very tinny and any manipulation through adjustment of the Audio for Bass, Treble etc. was a joke, very very poor. Had I know this product was made in India I would not have bought it. I am returning it to the store and will be happy to pay the extra for a quality product LG or Samsung product. I guess the old adage remains true... You get what you pay for. I was lured by the low price and find myself very dissatisfied with the sound quality of what might otherwise be a marginally acceptable 'big screen' tv experience. If you're thinking of buying this TV, be sure you listen to it... Before you take it from the store.

Purchased a 58" Haier LED LCD TV in April of 2014, Worked fine till Nov. 2014. A vertical line about 20" in from the left side of the TV running from top to bottom a sort of greeny blue colour developed in November. Still not a major problem as it was only visible when the TV turned on and there was a white background or when a light background was viewed during a program. It only became an issue when I purchased an upgraded receiver allowing me to view programs in High Def.
Now it was visible pretty much all the time. I called the Brick warranty people. They directed me to Haier America toll free number. I was given an email address to contact and sent a jpg of the line and the purchase invoice. In 4 days they called my cell and gave me authorization to return the TV to the Brick. I called the Brick they had received Haier's authorization and I reselected to a new Haier TV. Incredibly efficient and polite. I have had a Haier 40" LED HDTV for a little over a year. A couple months ago I started having intermittent problems where I would turn on my system and the sound would turn on but the screen would remain black. When I turned the TV off, you could see that a light had been on in the background but no video content was projected including the "on" screen that shows the company name. I would turn on and off the TV for a few minutes and it would suddenly work again. This only happened occasionally so I thought nothing of it. After a month it began happening more frequently and taking longer to resolve itself. Now it happens every time I turn the TV on, takes at least 5 minutes to see video, and sometimes the video will work for 10 seconds and turn black again. Unplugging the tv from the wall has not seemed to help either, though I will leave it unplugged for 30-60 seconds. It is really discouraging to have a product go bad like this, especially when it works fine otherwise and is not old at all.
In the mean time, the smaller TV I have had for almost 10 years still works perfectly. I think that is a testament to older products but should also be a clue for current companies: Products that are reliable and will not "crap-out" as soon as the warranty expires will foster trust in the company and consumers will be more likely to buy from that company again. You can be sure that the unreliability of my current TV and knowing there are other brands that will not only have a better product but better customer service as well will be getting my business in the future.

On 2/28/13 another call made and they said the unit is no longer sold and I will have to accept a refund which will arrive in 15-45 days, which I agreed to at that point.
After numerous calls, of which they said it was "in progress", or "issues is being escalated to a supervisor" and if no call back in 24-48 hours, I am to call back. Each time supposedly no supervisor is available to take the call. Well I called back over a dozen times in the span of the next 12 months, finally I yelled and demanded to speak to a supervisor before hanging up. I have read all these complaints and they all have the same issues concerning their products. I purchased a 58" Haier TV brand new from the Brick at the end of March/14. We set it up and about 1-2 weeks of working it suddenly had a dead pixel. This was replaced this with another - great. We have had this new one for a few weeks and all the sudden we now have several dead pixels and they keep growing. According to the manager (Jennifer) and her manager's manager they both state that this is very normal and acceptable to have these pixels. This will be 3 weeks of us having to call them back for updates. The repair shop, DK Electronic, told us they will NO longer work for Haier due to their conduct - WOW!!! So far Haier feels they don't owe any of their customers apologies or the respect to call them back.
The worse thing is our warranty is still good. Seems they are using this opportunity to shuffle us around till it runs out. Then we will be out of luck - which we will have to pay for ourselves. We have been on the phone for over an hour waiting for an answer from some type of manager!! I paid good money for this TV and expect that there should be no issues with the picture - let alone be told that the spreading of the pixels is normal and acceptable for watching TV!!!! Who would say that??? I have 4 other TV's LG, Samsung, Panasonic and have never been told pixels are to be expected and are normal. Something needs to be done about this issue with Haier Products. The managers are send us around and around now, so we are no further ahead than when we started.
Lastly, we are given an order # and when you call customer service they ask for this #. Why? Not like they use it for pulling up any information on your account, because they never seem to know what the issue is regarding anyways. The executive office manager (Mike) is now said to handle this matter. He now suggested that we wait for another 2 weeks. What must be done - should we drive to the head office with the TV.

I bought this piece of crap online from Amazon around December 2011. It worked good for the first 3 months. Then it started to have a snowy screen while I was using it for my computer. The snowy grey screen lasted for 3 seconds then it turned blue then black. The power light was still green. I tried to turn it off by the remote. Nothing happened. Then manually press the power button on the crappy TV and nothing happened. So I left it alone for about an hour, tried to turn it off, nothing happened. So finally I unplugged the CRAP then plug back in. Guess what, the light turn green then red. So I was like cool, now I can turn it back on. It came back on, but it started to do the same thing the next day and basically it did it almost everyday until now this CRAP doesn't even work at all. Not even to watch TV. No response from the buttons on the CRAP.
I called and complained to HAIER and they recommend I go see one of their contracted technicians in my area. They gave me the #, I called them. Tech Co, basically said it will cost you $75 for diagnostic plus parts and labor. So I said tell me what I'm looking at out the door. Tech Co said about $120 out the door minimum. I was like "Uh no thank you because I bought this crap Haier for $160 brand new." I decline because their warranty is only good for 90 days. 90 days is all crap Haier is good for before it goes out on you again. No thank you again. Now I know to spend a little bit extra on something like "Samsung, LG, Sharp, etc." Save yourself from disappointment and even though crap sells cheaper than name brand, you get what you pay for in the END. I purchased TV at the Brick in Canada Xmas 2012: I purchased the 3-yr extended warranty also. I set TV up and found I could barely hear volume at 100%. I decided to hook up to my stereo surround; the only A/V port did not work. I tried the component and it also did not work. Finally, I had to go through my satellite box to get proper volume. I hooked the TV up to HD satellite box via HDMI; picture was blurry - it was worse than my 20-yr-old analog TV. I tried to return it. Brick said had to deal with Haier Warranty. I called Haier at least a half dozen times, sent e-mails and even tried their online tech. I received no response from anyone as there is no place that deals with Haier service in Canada which has left me no options, but to put up with a manufactured piece of junk.
All I would like is my money back, so I can purchase a decent TV that has some sort of customer service here in Canada or even someone who will return a call or give me some answers. Is it that hard in this day and age to get what is advertised on a product? I believe there is a strong case for false advertising - the TV does not do what the box it came in says. Please, can you give me any advice on what I can do?

I purchased one of their TVs back in November 2012. The first 10 minutes it rings really loud. I was told by a friend my motherboard is going. It took months for customer service to get back to me. Now it is April, they finally sent a repairman out to replace the motherboard. He said he fixed it. It is worse than ever. Now they are going to send out another person. I just want a new TV!

I bought the TV in February 2012. Six months later, the TV shut off and would not come back on for an hour. It does this consistently. Each time, it takes longer and longer to come back on after it shuts off. This is such an inconvenience. Who has money to buy a new TV every year?

They have the worst TV. If I knew that when we purchased the TV that this brand was the worst possible investment, I would have opted out and gotten the normal brand TV we get. They give you a hard time to get service and the TV is broken more than you can use it. It's always turning off by itself and does not want to turn back on. The service people seem likely to just pass on the phone call. They are not helpful at all. Do not buy anything from this company. Also, people at Service makes you wait for at least 30 minutes when you wish to speak to a supervisor. The TV is trash. I should have looked into consumer reports how their performance was first. Everyone says that their products are trash! The problem, by the way, was that last year three months after purchase, the TV's power supply failed. Now since December, the TV turns off and does not want to turn on, unless you unplug and leave it for 3 hours and when you turn it on, it happens again after 5-15 minutes ... It's more trouble than its worth.

Bought a TV and it didn't work.Contacted customer service in September and they said they would send a warranty replacement and told me what I needed to send including $14.99 for shipping on the replacement. They sent a replacement and it was the wrong model, so after several calls, they sent FedEx to pick it up and return it.
For the last 3 months, at least every other week, I have called 3 different numbers and been told several different stories. They no longer have that model They do have that model. They will have to send a different model and last week when I called, they said they would send the replacement out this week.I called today and they tell me they don't have any TV to replace with and they will be refunding $199.99 and it could take up to 35 days. This has been going on for about 4 months now and we paid a total of $211.99 for the TV plus the $14.99 we sent Haier. I figure I will never see my money!

I purchased a Haier 42 inch plasma TV on November 2005. It didn't work when I got it home. I exchanged it at the Office Depot, and the 2nd one died after a couple weeks. Haier warranty sent a replacement, and it lasted for a few months and then died.
By September 2006, they finally shipped a 47 inch LCD with a $300 up-charge, but of course, there were no options to avoid the up-charge; by then, the 42 inch was out of production in both Plasma and LCD. It hasn't worked right from beginning (have to use remote to turn off/on, change channels, etc.; mounted controls don't work). It recently died (same complaint as the other 3 - bad circuit board). The technician asked Haier to offer some warranty or adjustment. They said, "No way."

I bought a new Haier LCD HD flat screen TV in the first part of May '09 as a birthday gift for my mother-in-law. By mid June '09, the TV began having problems to the point that it wouldn't turn on or off, and you couldn't change any channels with the unit's remote control or the controls on the unit itself. Their stated warranty is one-year parts and labor. I contacted Haier America on June 22 and spoke with Oliver at the number listed in the warranty section of the unit's owner's manual. He issued a service ticket, and indicated I would be contacted by a service technician within 24-48 hours to schedule an in-home service call to repair the unit.
When I asked if I could take the unit to a service center, he told me that service didn't exist. The next day, James contacted me from Captovis Advanced Industries Inc. at (800) 543-6485 out of Boca Raton, FL. James explained that replacement parts (computer boards for remote and LCD HD TV) would need to be shipped to me first before a service technician could be scheduled to come to my home to repair the unit. He indicated that the parts would most likely arrive in a few days, and I should contact them once they arrive, so we could get a technician scheduled to come by and repair the unit. Over the next 3 to 4 weeks, I spoke to several people from Captovis who indicated that they were waiting for word from Haier America through Global Warranty Group as to when the repair parts might be shipped to me. James and Tice along with others I spoke with at Captovis shared in my frustration, and shared with me that this was a common occurrence with Haier America.
I contacted Haier twice to find out when the parts requested by Global Warranty Group would be shipped. After two completely different stores that amount to conflicting excuses, the repair parts were finally delivered in mid July '09. I contacted Captovis and was given the cell number to contact their service technician to schedule the repair. Ben from Captovis came on the 22nd of July to make the repairs. Since I travel for work, I informed Ben someone would be home to provide him access to do the repairs. I returned home a few days after Ben had made the repairs. When I checked the unit, nothing had changed; the parts that had been replaced had not corrected the problem. The same issues remained; they existed prior to the repairs made by Ben from Captovis. I contacted Ben directly, and he mumbles something about new batteries for the unit’s remote control device, and after explaining to him that the batteries were new, he recommended that I contact Global Warranty Group to initiate a new repair ticket. I immediately contacted Tice at Captovis explaining the situation to her, and she said a senior service technician would be contacting me.
John from Captovis contacted me and explained he would need to request the same repair parts already replace a few days prior from Global Warranty Group, and that if a request to exchange the unit was made at this point, there was a high probability that the request would be denied by Global and Haier. I have been in touch with Captovis everyday this last week of July '09, and was informed yesterday by John at Captovis that Global Warranty Group has made a request for Haier to send me new parts, but that the parts had not shipped yet, and he had no idea of when they will be shipped. I contacted John at Global Warranty Group and he said that he hoped that Haier would ship the parts in the next week, and that if the new replacement parts being sent didn't solve the problem, Haier would probably exchange the unit out. It's obvious that Haier along with Global Warranty Group has only their own self-interest in mind when it comes to honoring their warranty. The customer's interest is not put first.

Haier 42EP24S tv went black while watching a movie tried to get fix and was unable to. Called sears and they said I need to get upgrade kit to repair it, I could not find kit, tried to order it from Haier and was always on back order. I refuse to pay for something that was so expensive and get defective in just 1 1/2 years. I wrote Haier many times asking for assistance and I received no reply.

Purchased a 42 Plasma television (or so I thought) from Sears at the end of 2005 - did not get it set up until summmer of 2006 - a few months ago the screen went black. Called Sears - they said warranty was over, tried to contact Haier but could not. The main components should have been under a longer warranty. The parts were backordered and they told me to keep checking for availability online. It will cost quite a few hundred to fix this. The service tech said this is a very common problem and it should have been recalled but was not.
I went online to see if I could find the upgrade part I needed and instead found many pages of consumer complaints. I paid 1300.00 for this 'television' - my receipt states HAI,PLTV42 - I was not told it was only a monitor, and the receipt does not state monitor. I feel Haier should fix this or replace it.
This television/monitor has been inoperable for a few months now, and since this is such a common problem and the part to fix it is an 'upgrade' then I feel Haier should take responsibility for the 'upgrade' or recall and replace this set.

In November 2006, I also bought the Haier Plasma TV, model #42HP25BAT for $1,300.00 from Office Depot for a family Christmas gift. Didn't even open it until Christmas. In May 2007, the TV made a popping sound and there was no picture. After numerous calls, parts that could not be delivered, etc., a lot of arguing, and 4 months later Haier replaced the TV with a USED TV - I didn't know that when I agreed to the replacement.
Anyway, 6 months after that on 4/21/2008, same pop sound and no picture with the USED REPLACEMENT TV. I just talked to Haier customer service and they recommend I take it to the repair shop (on my dime) since it's So far out of warranty ! ... The original agent I spoke to said the warranty went on hold during the repair period ! Dave, a Haier customer service supervisor, then said he knew nothing about a holding period when a product was in service. Dave, the supervisor would not and did not take ownership of the problem - did not care that I was an irate customer - claimed to have no authority to fix my problem - and again, could have cared less.

Purchased a Haier model number HLC26X Lcd/DVD combo T.V. Recieved the unit 3 weeks after placing order. Unit quit working within 1 week of delivery. Peach Direct would not allow return of unit. Had to contact Haier. Contacted Haier. After another 2 weeks and numerous phone calls was finally contacted to TAKE the unit into the repair shop. Even though the warranty clearly stated in home service. After 4 months in the repair shop. I contacted my repair shop again. Was told the unit was going to be warranted out for replacement. Contacted Haier again. After an additional week I recieved call tags. Now i have to pick up the unit package it and take it to Fed EX for return. Asked Haier to replace with a unit that may be a bit more reliable. They would not do so. So basically Haier is a poor quality product. And the company has no desire to satisfy thier customer's. Once I recieve the replacement I intend to list it on Ebay and get what i can on it. Cut my losses and NEVER knowingly purchase another Haier product. And will advise friends not to buy any as well.

In November of 2006, I purchased a Haier Plasma 42 Television, model #42HP25BAT for $1,300.00. After several weeks of problems with screen distortion I contacted HaierAmerica on November 12, 2007. They had a local serice technician come to my home and take pictures of my television screen. This occurred on Nov. 14, 2007. Since that date I cannot get my television repaired. I get all types of excuses from customer service and their tech support refuses to return my phone calls. This has been going on daily for over 7 weeks. Now customer support will not even have a supervisor return my phone calls.
I am 51 years old and have had dealings with many manufacturers. However, Haier warranty policies and customer service is the worse I have ever dealt with and they lied and made excuses trying to prevent them from fulfilling their warranty promise and repairing their products. I have also emailed Haier outside the United States in an unsuccessful attempt to get someone to contact me that can help me with this problem. I'm out $1,300 with a lousy television and a manufacture that does not care. It will take a law suit to get Haier's attention and to get them to do anything to have my television repaired. 4 emails, 27 phone calls to them (getting voicemail or a unknowledgeable person who takes messages that are never returned) and $1,300 for nothing.
