I bought a New GE dryer from Lowe's. It broke in a week. They said because it was over 48 hours, I would have to call GE. They use a company called Bodewell (looka at their reviews-mostly negative). I missed the repair person's call... so they cancelled. Now they want me to another week. The worst service ever!!!

I highly suggest you do not purchase a GE product that may need repair. I bought a washer/dryer in February. By May we started needing repairs. For the first issue, it took 3 visits to repair and took several weeks from when they started. Two months later we had another issue. We are now on our third visit for this issue. The technician had an emergency (not his fault) but no one called to tell me the appointment needed to be moved. I finally called Bodewell (the GE service company) and my appointment is not in another 1 1/2 weeks. The communications is terrible and I am very disappointed in the products that we are having failures so quickly. For both issues, the technician needed to order additional parts which prolongs the process. All and all it has not been good.

I purchased appliances from a Monogram/General Electric/Haier ("GE") dealer September 3, 2023. Two of those appliances were broken from the day they were first delivered and it took months of no show service appointments to get them repaired. The repair people GE sent also destroyed portions of our kitchen cabinets and it was a fight to get GE agree to cover those repairs. So the products and service has been atrocious since day 1.

Then, in June of 2025 I reported two of those appliances (a refrigerator and a stove were again not working). No one showed up after I spent the whole day waiting around for that first scheduled service appointment in June. I called GE to ask why no one came and surprisingly they tried to deny my warranty by claiming they had no record of my purchase date. GE clearly had serviced these appliances before when they were delivered broken and did have this information. I nonetheless reobtained and provided that evidence.

A second service date was scheduled. I spent a whole day sitting around my house and no one showed up for that appointment or called me. A third appointment was scheduled and a technician named Mario who services the Miami Florida area came, did not fix the appliances, was extremely rude, and told me parts needed to be ordered. A fourth appointment was scheduled and then cancelled by the same technician who, after I spend another full day waiting around, told me that no parts were ordered and its "above his pay grade". I was then told by a supervisor at GE's customer line on August 15 that parts were ordered and a fifth appointment would be scheduled. Then on August 20 when I had seen no proof of that, I was told that GE was, in effect, unilaterally voiding my warranty.

The same technicians that did not show up for the prior appointments and were extremely rude when they did show up seemingly did not want to service me any more because I questioned why GE was doing this to me, so now GE claims that I would need to service the appliances myself, order parts myself, get approvals for the cost of work and that, in effect, GE would not comply with the warranty, the terms of which are very clear, do not require me to do any of this, and are set out in the owners manual that came with each of these broken appliances. GE's quality is terrible, the service is even worse, and they intentionally breach their warranties when they tire of dealing with you. It has been over two months since I reported these appliances as broken again, and my only recourse seems to be suing GE for breach of warranty.

Evan the service tech for Bodewell in South Jersey made huge mistakes servicing our GE washers (yes two) in the house. He then put a black list/do not service notation on our file to blame us and not take responsibility. He has engaged in fraud. With the black listing we can not get anyone within 150 miles to service the GE washer. GE will not stand by its product. Bodewell will not stand by its service. GE and BODEWELL have violated NJ's consumer protection laws. We will have to find an attorney to solve this problem because now, for the life of these products, no GE or BODEWELL service tech will enter our house. This is absolutely fraud. DO NOT BUY GE OR EVER USE BODEWELL!!!!

We purchased a brand new washer and dryer from Home Depot, and the dryer has never worked. It's been over two weeks and we still can't get this issue resolved. Neither Home Depot nor Bodewell Repair Services (GE’s authorized repair provider in New Orleans) has stepped up to fix the problem. To make matters worse, Bodewell’s technician lied about showing up for a scheduled appointment and falsely claimed there was a verbal altercation — even though no one from their team ever spoke to us. The lack of accountability and professionalism is appalling. It's a shame that companies like GE and Home Depot make it so difficult to get help after a sale. We expected better service from such large and reputable brands, but unfortunately, this experience has been incredibly disappointing.

Borderline is absolutely the worst company to deal with. I may never buy a GE appliance again because of them. Took a week to get someone to return a call then they didn't call on the service day at all. I waited all day then the next day I called and he said let me call GE. Called me back and said GE said the refrigerator door comes back at you and won't stay open is just the way it is. We made him come look because the store model stays open.. He finally showed up with no tools, looked at the hinges and said well GE said that's the way it works and left. I waited a total of 2 weeks to have him physically look at the refrigerator and leave. Unbelievable.

They will run you around in circles placing the blame on the Dispatch or customer service. Even the technicians use excuses to not show up while they are en route 5 minutes from your house, “Didn’t know the job needed two techs”, “Didn’t know the job was going to take two hours”, “Family emergency”, “Techs not available on scheduled date”, just on and on and on. Terrible service!! We have a rental property and our 18 month old refrigerator was making loud noises and losing cold air. Took one week to get appointment, then parts had to be ordered. Tech had the parts sent to his house because there is NO physical location to receive them. We were turning the refrigerator off to allow ice to defrost from the evaporator fan which was not working properly and also the upper door was not sealing correctly. The day before our appointment I receive a call that the repairman has "called in" and wouldn't be back for two weeks. They have no back up repairmen. We also could not get the parts because they were at a private home. Start to finish the repair would have taken three weeks. We ended up paying for the repairs and parts through another company at our cost of $578.

Never have I ever written a review good or bad, but today I could not hold back with the service I got, I don’t have a problem with GE. My problem is with Bodewell, had an appointment a month ago to fix a part that was broken on my new refrigerator. My schedule appointment was on a Friday between 12 and five receive the phone call Friday morning from technician to come earlier because he was in the area, I said yes I am home and I’m waiting for you. Technician came but no parts were here to fix the problem. Rescheduled another appointment for the following Friday. They told me between 12 and five waited here all day for them.

Finally, I had to go to work when I arrived at work. I received a phone call that the technician will not be able to make it. OK reschedule. Following Friday between eight and 12 got up. Went in the shower. Missed a phone call from Bodwell that they were coming when I saw the missed call I called him back. Spoke with technician told me he was already on a different job and to call the office and reschedule and he can’t come back after he was done with the other job on the phone all morning with the office and they could not accommodate me even though the technician said they could come back and fix it that he had no issue and to make another appointment for a different day because that’s a protocol that’s the way they do things meanwhile, I’ve been waiting for almost a month for a job that took 10 minutes to fix so much for warranty and extended warranty

GE Profile fridge doors have never been level. The company we purchased from had been out here several times before and could not fix - felt it may be a hinge issue and set up service with Bodewell. Rep came out, adjusted the wheels, still wasn't fixed, said floor was not level & to put a tile under it, never opened the doors, NEVER LOOKED AT THE HINGES. Told him the wheels had been adjusted before & he implied that he was "doing us a favor by not charging us". I said "no, we didn't call you. The company we purchased from did." He left, doing nothing more. Was in the house 5 min or less. Very rude. Very condescending. Would never recommend this company to anyone. Customer service is terrible. Does not represent GE very well. I will never purchase another GE product.

Unfortunately, GE outsources their appliance repair to Bodewell. And Bodewell is absolutely worthless, as you can tell by all the other negative reviews. Our 6+ month old GE Profile dishwasher stopped working entirely on April 23rd. The next day on the GE appliance site I scheduled a repair for April 29th. Bodewell apparently outsources to a variety of appliance repair companies. I got a notice the tech would arrive between 8am and 5pm on April 29th. So of course I have to stay home that day. The day arrives and around 11:30 I get a message from "Richard, the AI agent" that due to circumstances beyond their control they cannot come to my house that day. They gave me alternative dates, the soonest of which was 2 weeks later, May 14th.

So on May 14th, today, I again wait around at home. Around 11:30 I get the same message as I did on April 29th. Next available date is May 30th. More than 2 weeks out. By that time we'll have been without a dishwasher for 5 weeks. But I'm not a total fool, no way they're going to come on the 30th either. They also say they'll text the night before their scheduled service which they never do. When I called Bodewell they are of no help. They would only give me the phone number of the company they outsourced the warranty repair to. And when I call that company I get only an automated answering system. I cannot talk to a live person.

So in summary, Bodewell is a complete scam and should be investigated. Bodewell and GE don't care at all about we consumers. I'll never purchase another GE appliance. And if possible I'll only buy appliances from a company that also provides repair service, if there is such a company any more. My advice - don't purchase GE appliances. Stay far away from Bodewell.

They sent Bodewell out to fix the problem. This took a month. I had to pay for the repairs up front then GE insurance was to pay me back. This is how they handle it. The cost was 1069,05. I turned everything over to the insurance co. and was never paid back. This happened over two months ago. Every time I contact them, they say I did not give them the copies of payment. I did over 6 times. They have tried everything to not pay. I contacted them almost daily and always a different story. I went without a refrigerator for a month and lost all my food, then no repayment. I will never use this company or buy GE appliances again. Just a scam.

I protested and he gave a sob story about how I’d get him in a lot of trouble. I said, "Well you could’ve easily avoided this visit if you’d simply told me in your phone call 30 minutes ago on your way here that the repair service would be more expensive than buying a brew one." He had all of the information about their make and model and the issue it was having. He said, "They made that clear to you already that there’d be a charge for today." The "concierge" service dumps you in the same hours-long hold queue as anyone else who doesn't have an account. I wasted three hours on hold this morning trying to reach the "membership" line. The website says we can cancel any time and receive a refund through the "subscription" page on our account. That is false. That site only allows cancellation of the renewal, not the current subscription. It took three hours this morning, seven different phone calls, and at least half a dozen different departments to find a rep who even knows what the Bodewell membership is. They sent a compressor, but we had to wait for days for someone to come to fix it. Someone came out, never opened the compressor box and said we were missing a service part… He can’t fix it… He said he needed to call G.E.… Got into the van and drove off… This is completely unacceptable. One tech ordered me a door. It's been sitting in my house for 3+ months. A tech came to install it, told me I didn't need to replace the door, said that someone will reach out to me have the door picked up/removed. He "fixed" the problem, but it broke AGAIN three days later. The next tech also told me I didn't need a door, said he ordered a part and that it would arrive on 9/26 and he'd be back on 9/27 to install. No order confirmation for the part, not follow up for the appointment. I've been on the phone with support for 45 minutes trying to get this resolved once and for all.

After a few weeks they determined it was the compressor. The cost to replace $950.00. Please remember this is a 4 year old refrigerator. GE would not cover the compressor because we no longer had a warranty. Save your money and take it for us. Don’t buy a GE refrigerator unless you can afford to replace in 4 years.

I was told since it’s old oven, it will be $149 to send technician, I agreed. A technician came on time, he checked my oven and told me what the problem was, but my oven is too old and GE doesn’t make the parts anymore. So he cannot do anything. Ok, he was very nice and showed up on time so I don’t have any complaint about him, but repair company, Bodewell, could have informed me that GE doesn’t have parts for my oven anymore since they took my serial/model#? If I know I cannot repair, I don’t even call for service… I just paid $149 for sometime to tell me to buy new oven…. If you need to call service for your old GE appliance, I strongly recommend to ask first whether they still have parts or not, if it needs to be repair…. My next oven won’t be GE for sure.

We had to have warranty service about 15 months after purchase because we'd been dealing with an issue with ice building up on the freezer tracks. Cust Svc rep at GE CARES found my info and set up a warranty service call. Tech came out 4 times in a matter of weeks before he figured out the rubber gasket was pinched letting in air causing the frost build up.

Last week the handle to the door where you access the ice bin popped off. I placed a service call thru GE cares like before but this time was directed to contact Bodewell as they were doing the service. Tech calls to confirm appointment and ARGUES with me that there aren’t service contracts. I got tired of arguing with him and said “just forget it. Goodbye”. Attempting to reach a HUMAN at GE cares now - waiting for a call back. Not holding my breath if this is the type of service they provide now.

GE Appliance Services has issues with communication. On 6/28/24, I scheduled an appointment for 7/3/24, to fix my GE Profile in-wall oven. The oven started throwing error codes not long after I used the high temperature self-cleaning option. My guess is the high temperatures from self cleaning burned something out on the control board. I wanted the oven repaired so I could use it to cook for a big July 4th meal I had planned. Without consulting me, on 6/28/24 GE dispatch cancelled and rescheduled my appointment to 7/10/24. I did not find out they had rescheduled until they did not show up on 7/3.

When I called to ask why my appt was rescheduled they said it had something to do with having to do emergency repairs on refrigerators. Somehow on 6/28/24, they knew there would be broken GE refrigerators on 7/3/24. Really? They showed up on 7/10 and diagnosed a faulty control board which they had to order. The technician indicated he sees burned out control boards a lot. I was told they would schedule an appointment once the part arrived at my house. The part arrived on 7/13. I never received an email, text or call letting me know they had scheduled an appointment for 7/16/24 to replace the board. As a result, I was not around when they showed up to my house between 8-12 noon on 7/16 and missed the repair technician.

I called and asked them to expedite rescheduling my appointment. The best they could do was to reschedule for 7/24. I told them this was unacceptable. I was told dispatch would contact me if they had a cancellation. Dispatch were the ones that cancelled and rescheduled my initial appt without ever contacting me. I cancelled the 7/24 appt and called a local repair service that came out same day. They replaced the control card in about 20 minutes and charged me less than GE Appliances Services would have. GE Appliance Repair is not dependable.

We bought a GE Profile Microwave and a Stove combo. Not even a week later the exhaust fans got very loud as the fan auto turns on. We bought Home Depot's extended warranty. The whole thing is a circus. We called GE and they said, oh you need to contact Home Depot first and have them come out to evaluate the issue. We called HD and after some back and forth we got them to give us a weekend appt. These entities don't know that people work FT jobs?? So, fine, HD came and said we will authorize GE to replace your microwave as the fan seem to have gone bad, but we need to contact GE to follow up.

We spent over 3 hours trying to get someone on the phone. RIDICULOUS!! They set an appt for this Saturday which is today. But, the appt is for another tech from GE to come and evaluate the microwave. How many people does it take to say, the fan is bad!! It is finally Saturday and I stayed home from work to wait for tech to show from 8-12. These time windows are ridiculously asinine. We get a call from tech at 8:30 saying, "Your address is incorrect." We said, that's not our fault. We asked the rep 3-4 times to confirm the address. So these incompetent GE reps had the wrong address down even after us asking many times to confirm our address. The tech said, he couldn't come to our house as it's out of his territory. So once, again GE has failed on many levels.

Their customer service sucks and have incompetent people answering the phones. This has taken over 2 weeks to try and get someone. The contract that Home Depot has with GE is asinine. Let's see: a HD tech has to come first and evaluate and then a GE tech has to come and do the same to then maybe send a replacement unit. What an asinine circus do they have running here. It will be the last GE product I get. The tech was rude as well. Not impressed with his mannerism. The least he could've done is make up for what GE messed up on but none of them people at GE go over and beyond for the same customers that pay their salaries.

When we purchased the house in 1999 there was a GE Monogram refrigerator in it from when it was built in 1996. The sellers purchased an extended warranty to go with it and we've renewed faithfully since with GE service when they came out. GE has been out and kept it running for 25.5 years now under the plan most recently in January 2021. When we scheduled another call for August 2021, they sent a different company out who said, "oh, the model and serial number don't match our records so we can't service it." This even though they'd serviced it for 22 years and they'd been the one to pull it out, read and enter the numbers.

Given we never provided either to them and only GE's factory service had ever renewed it and entered the numbers, their inability to accurately record and track the original serial numbers is awful. How they stay in business like is one question. We've ordered a new refrigerator, but we're hoping the Assurant would honor the warranty we'd paid for to keep it cooling until the new one arrived. No such luck.

I called the store where I bought the fridge from and he sent out his repairman and was here within 3 hours and fixed the problem and ordered a new part. I want a refund for my three year policy. This refridge, stove and micro were bought 2/12/2020. I will not go through this again. The place I do business with for 40 years. If this is not solved I report it to someone who will handle this for me.

I’ve called every number and emailed every email I can find and still can’t get a repair technician on the phone. I want them to look at the notes and tell me what they can try that hasn’t been done before instead of coming for a FIFTH time and wasting my time again and trying all the same things that don’t work. How can I get a hold of the corporate office?

We had a protection plan so they came out and fixed it at no charge but the technician mentioned that he had noticed a problem with this happening and to be aware. Well it happened again. Came home from being gone all day and my son said that he smelled gas and we realized it was coming from the same burner that it was before. I immediately shut the gas off to the stove. This should not be happening. Stoves should last a long time and certainly should not be leaking gas two time in less than three years. It is a safety concern at this point and I am absolutely unhappy with the lack of help and concern that I have received from customer service in rectify this issue.

When he called to try and get the correct part he was treated rudely and GE rep on the phone said he couldn't help with ordering the part. This has been going on a little over 2 weeks now. The technician is awesome and has gone above and beyond to solve this problem. I thought GE was a reputable company. I will not be making any purchases from this company again.

Very disappointed in the GE washer and dryer I purchased in mid August. Everything was working fine but at about 6 weeks, the dryer started making a extremely loud noise. Closing the utility room door did not help. Service tech listened to my video and ordered a bearing kit. He came out and replaced it but it still was making the loud noise. Recorded it again and he came out and said the drum was bent probably by the installers. He also noticed the dryer door was bent in several places. (I commented on that when it was delivered but the installer said it was supposed to be that way.) He also said the rigid dryer duct was all messed up and cut too short so he adjusted that.

On the 3rd service call to replace the drum and door, he said all was well. I noticed water on the floor but thought it could have been due to an overflow of the washer. Now I've had the 4th service call as the dryer was again making the loud noise AND the dryer duct had come loose and now had a tear in it. When I got back there to put tape over the tear, I noticed dripping from the hose going into the washer. Verdict-the drum was not seated correctly and needed grease, the back was bent and the hoses on the washer were not installed hot to hot and cold to cold. He promised this would be my last call! NEVER had a service call on my 20 year old cheapest I could find washer and dryer which were another brand!

We don't want just repair because it's a brand new house and we just moved in for like a week, then they asked for closing statement, which we included in our email and sent for three times to three different people. Then they asked us to prove we are the first owner of the house, which doesn't make any sense because it's a BRAND NEW HOUSE. If I could give this company zero stars I would. We bought a brand new GE dryer in April and it stopped working a week ago. We reached out to GE about it and at first were told because we did not have our original receipt, that they could not tell if it had been purchased within the past year and could not help us. Understandable, but I explained to them that this dryer was built this year in 2019 and it said so on the tag. The dryer was only about a month old when we bought it. They still said they could not help us even though they understood that. We then turned to Lowe's where we had purchased the dryer and thankfully they were able to go back on our account and print us a new receipt.

We then contacted GE again and they told us various things to try, none of which worked. She then said they would have to get a repairman scheduled to come out and work on it. This was on a Sunday and she said we were in a Customer Care Center and would have to call back during business hours Monday through Friday. My husband called the following morning and after being on hold for an hour to even speak to a human being had to hang up to continue at his job. I called around 1:30 that afternoon and was on hold for close to 30 minutes.

When I finally spoke with someone and explained our situation to her she told me that they did not have a service technician in our area. I explained to her that we were located very close to two major cities and did not understand how that could be possible. She then tried to tell me that if they could not find a technician that we would have to find our own. They said that they would send the parts needed for free and reimburse us up to $250 for the service call. I explained to them that a service call would cost us more than that having to call someone out twice to see what is wrong with it and then again to replace the parts. Our dryer is still under the one year warranty and is supposed to fixed or replaced at no charge to us.

Finally, that afternoon I received a text that A&E Services was coming to repair our dryer on Friday anywhere from 8-5. My husband made sure to be off as long as he could that day to be there and we had scheduled for a family member to be at our house until I could get home from work. My husband called on Friday morning to get a better time slot of when they would be there and he was told that they would be there between 3 and 5. Shortly after I received a call saying that our service would need to be rescheduled because our technician was no longer available. I explained to them that we were just told that they would be there between 3 and 5 and she said that the service tech was no longer available and the next available date was on Wednesday of the following week between 8 and 5.

So here we are a week into being without our dryer and GE seems to be avoiding us at all costs. If this dryer was not under warranty and the expenses to fix it were coming out of our pocket I am certain they would have been there right away with an available technician. I am pregnant and dealing with this company has caused much unneeded stress! Never again will GE get any of our business and I have been sure to tell everyone about how terrible GE Customer Service is and how they don't like to back up what they sell. I highly recommend purchasing any other brand but GE!!!

Updated on 09/10/2019: This is a final review. Our GE refrigerator that is 5 years and 4 months old, a replacement for a GE profile lemon. The first Profile did not have insulation between refrigerator and freezer. Customer services talked us into a new refrigerator at a discounted price of $3,000. It came with one year warranty and I insisted on another. At 4 years the new Profile needed a refrigerator evaporator and trough. Parts discounted but labor $185.90. That was 9/10/2018. Now at 5 years 4 months, 4 months out of warranty the compressor went out. Cost to repair $580.95 labor and GE gave us a discount on a $696.37 compressor at $150.00. But that is all it needs. Evaporator $181.20, condenser $460.60 and die dryer $23.06 plus tax. Over $2,000 dollars.

GE consumer rep asked us if we wanted to purchase another GE for over $3,000. Never ever. 2 pieces of junk in 8 years. Talked to CA attorney general. He said there is nothing that can be done. Went and purchased a new Whirlpool from Home Depot for $1,295 and has a 5 year warranty that if you do not use it get 30% back. Gives discount on filters and if they cannot fix after 3 tries they replace. What a deal.

Updated on 09/05/2019: Update on refrigerator. Compressor dead. Still need to wait to see if parts are covered, no labor. Cost over $500 to repair and need to wait again. No refrigerator since last Friday. Repair man recommended to replace. Ugh. No more GE appliances.

Original Review: We purchased a new Pulte home October, 2010. The new GE appliance was added into our loan. It had to be serviced once and then in March 2014 it quit working again. When the service man came out, which we had to pay for, found out that there was no insulation between the freezer and refrigerator so it could not be repaired. Got a hold of GE consumer relations who said they were sorry and made us a offer to purchase a new GE. So we thought OK because we cannot get 2 lemons in a row. Wrong. Plus it cost more than if we went to Sears and bought a great Kenmore.

So now 4 more service calls later, they did send parts on one call for no charge. The drain pan keeps rusting out. That was 9/10/2018. Well here we are again, refrigerator 68 degrees. Not working and freezer 35. Service call just to come look $120. We have not had a refrigerator since Friday and cannot get service till next Thursday. We are done, going to buy a new Kenmore French door for $1200. NO MORE GE. Just talked to GE consumer relations. Cannot do anything but maybe give us a discount on parts. Otherwise go to a lawyer and file a case for Lemon law. Very angry. We are retired and cannot afford to keep repairing this junk.

I bought 5 matching GE Monogram appliances, stainless steel with architect handles, I remodeled my kitchen in 2005. I loved them. However my two last service calls have been a HUGE let down in terms of customer service and I highly doubt I will knowingly buy GE ever again. My first service call with GE went well. My freezer and water dispenser were acting up. A gentleman named Ray came and discovered that condensation froze over time inside the freezer door...a flaw in the design... and he ordered a new door and It was delivered and he came back and put it back together. I ordered some water filters from him even though they cost more buying from GE because he was so helpful and kind natured. Ray was awesome.

September 2018. This next service call was a huge flop. I scheduled a service call for two items. #1 was for help with my ice maker because It wasn't turning out ice. #2 was to level the fridge so that the door didn't swing open on its own if it wasn't shut all the way. A young man came and after looking for about 2 minutes of looking at the Ice dispenser (#1), told me I needed a new dispenser. I asked what the price of the part was and I don't recall the price he told me, but it was high enough to give me sticker shock. Since he said I could just drop in the new part when it arrived, I asked for the part number and in that moment I found it for a fraction of the cost and based on this I told him that he didn't need to order the part for me.

As for my service for #2, the leveling of the fridge. He tossed a small level on the top shelf and said that the fridge was level. The middle cheese drawer flies out with each door opening and also the door still flies open when the suction is released. I pointed this and he said that the cheese drawer was bad and I needed to replace it with a new one. Again sticker shock on the price. I think it was $450 or something. Sorry that just feels like gouging to me. I mean I paid thousands of dollars to get this matching set. I told him I didn't want to do that. He left my house and charged me $125 for really no help at all other than a part number for the ice dispenser. That was helpful. Sometimes I'm a DIYer so I'm thinking... why wouldn't he just help by turning those two front leveling feet in front anyway? So that the drawer and door won't continue to fly open??? Even it if means my milk carton is at a slant. That would be better to me.

It's like all he had up his sleeve was to order parts. No recommendations other than that. So he left and was in his work van parked in front of my house. Out of frustration at getting ZERO help and paying $125 for that, I went out and asked if he could at minimum crank the front feet up. He told me that if he came back into my house, he would have to charge me another $125. Wow that stinks. I told him never mind. It's an understatement to tell you that I was very very frustrated with GE's "service" at this point. It's not really service to me, it's quite the opposite.

This brings us to this latest call I put in this month. I had now, a total of 3 appliance concerns. #1 the unfixed fridge leveling which now has caused dents in the right door panel from flying open and hitting the extra wide architect handles on the neighboring Monogram wall oven and the Advantium Speed Cooker above it. This damage could have been avoided if September service guy actually attempted to help me in any way with the fridge leveling - even a shim or two could have helped. #2 my wall oven stopped sensing the temperature and was stuck on 100 degrees while inside the temp was going through the roof. Also #3 my Advantium Speed Cooker wasn't shutting properly and I was having to hold in the upper right corner for it to operate.

I called service instead of scheduling online. I didn't want a repeat of last September's call which was a waste of money and time. The first gentleman I spoke with that took my call was Phillip. I explained what I needed and my hesitation and told him about the September debacle. He was very empathetic and said "Oh we can do better than that". This sounded promising. He said it would be best to talk to a customer relations person or advocate or some other title that I don't recall.

I then was passed to Mark. He heard me out and I made it clear that the last service call was a waste of $125. I expressed that if I'm to move forward with a service call, I would want some form of compensation for the fee I paid last Fall - given that I've spent thousands to get this set - and want to believe that GE is interested in brand loyalty. He said "I'll see what I can do". He also said that I could get scheduled soon if I sent him the serial numbers and model numbers of everything right away. This is great because I have renters and I need to keep things operating.

He emailed me later that day as expected and I emailed him the next morning at 8am. After 2 pm when I hadn't received an email or call back, I called instead. When I called to talk with Mark, instead I was to talk with Mollie. I then explained it all over again and referred her to any type of existing notes on my case which she eventually referred to. I told her I was expecting some form of adjustment on the impending service call. She put me on hold while she checked with someone. She said that the most they could do is offer me 25% off parts and that I should have called back in September because labor was guaranteed for 30 days and now it is 8 months later and there is nothing they can do.

I attempted to tell Mollie that the 25% off is not an incentive to me at all. I found parts 50% off myself online that worked perfectly. She said that this was all that they could do. The call ended and I used Mark's email to try to talk with him directly and inquire more. He emailed back and, more or less, said that 25% off was generous and that is all that they could do.

To any GE consumer relations people interested in retaining customers...know that this feels like the complete opposite of customer support. I spent thousands of $ on a matching set of 5 appliances and would think - after this experience (Mark named it a "fiasco") in September - at minimum GE could waive $99 plus $25 appliance fees and just charge labor and parts if they are sticker-shock-priced. I don't know what will come of this survey here but know that I'm taking to fixing my own stuff based on this. GE clearly ran out of experts when Ray can't be reached. Last weekend I took the oven out of the wall myself and replaced it the heat sensor and it's fine now. The part was $17 on Amazon. Goodbye GE and good luck. Incident: **.

We purchased a large GE air conditioner last summer and when we put it in the window this summer it started making an awful noise like a lawn mower. Luckily (or so I thought) we had purchased the AC less than a year ago so it was still covered under GE's warranty. They informed us that the unit would be replaced for free and we'd be hearing from them soon. They called and told us we needed to be home some day Monday-Friday between 10-2 so when they drop the replacement AC off they could take the old unit. This was understandable, but inconvenient since we both work during the day. However, my husband scheduled the day and stayed home from work. They dropped off the new AC unit and it was covered in grease/oil.

When we went to turn it on only the fan worked, no cooling. We called GE again and they scheduled a day to send out someone to repair it so once again, my husband had to stay home from work for this. The repair man confirmed that the unit is busted and said we'd have to schedule ANOTHER day for someone to come out and fix it. This has been going on for about a month in the middle of a hot summer. We've spent hours on the phone and days off of work just to get a working AC and we still don't have one. We will NEVER be buying another GE product if this is how their customer service treats their customers.

In our range the oven badly works: does not hold the established temperature, long time preheat, convection badly works. The problem with oven door. The gap on the left side (1 inch) is two times larger than the right. We called the service technician. He told that it is necessary to change the oven door, but it is unavailable, and we need to wait for three weeks, and then to call him again. He will only change a door, and on the rest call other technician.

Passed more than 3 weeks, but we did not receive the door. We sent e-mail, but were not answered. We called. My name is, as you can see, Karen **, and I purchased a washer and dryer from your company in 2015. Since then, I have had to have it repaired, which was under warranty but, now it is not under warranty and it is leaking from the bottom. I am the only one that uses the machine and there is no reason for it to malfunction twice in four years. Since I don’t have a warranty I decided to go on YouTube to see if it is an easy fix and if I can do it myself. Well, to my surprise it would have been an easy fix if some of the parts were not wielded or super glued on. The plastics fabric dispenser is supposed to pop right out but it is glued on and I had to break it to take off the agitator. Not finished, when I got to the tub nut it is either welded or cement glued on.

I can understand the tub nut being hard to get off, because I am a female, but impossible to get off unless I break the frigging machine is really pissing me off. It has been days and I cannot get it off to get to the rubber tub seal. Not only that, the water does not fill all the way and never has. I have had to wash a few pieces of clothes at a time or whatever is on top will not get washed even when I put the knob on auto fill. The place I bought the machine from on Behrman Hwy has since closed so sending it back or complaining to them is out of the question. I am frustrated with this machine and I can promise you that I will never buy another GE product for as long as I live.

I am so heartbroken because now I have to throw away my washing machine that I had to save up for for nearly three years because it has caused enough water damage in my house and I’m being forced to use the public laundromat until I can afford another machine. I am truly disappointed that you people are making machines where you either weld or glue on parts. How are repairs supposed to happen? A very disgruntle customer.

GE service technician assaulted me. A GE dishwasher that I've had for 6 months suddenly started leaking. A GE technician came out to service it as it had a year warranty. He blamed the structure of my home for the leak, screamed at me after questioning him, and put me on GE's Do Not Service List. I called GE to complain and they provided 0% assistance. Told me the tech's supervisor would decide to handle or not. I called GE Corporate Headquarters and got no response. I will never ever buy another GE appliance.

I called GE and they completely denied any product issue. The technician had the nerve to tell me I had left plastic to melt in the oven. I have no plastic cookware. NONE. I called Customer Relations, guess what, they want me to "buy a new oven" at a "discounted price". Really, where is the customer advocate? Case number **. I am so upset. We actually stayed away from GE based on business news but in the end were talked into GE Cafe by salesperson. We should have stuck with our original choice. Upon delivery, the fridge and range were damaged. GE customer service immediately wanted to send service technician. It was incomprehensible to me how brand new appliances that weren't even plugged in needed to be fixed!! These are not cheap appliances. After dealing with customer service, they agreed to send in new fridge that too was damaged! It was refused and sent back. A month later still no fridge as I will not buy from GE.

They would not replace range so after almost 2 weeks of dealing with customer service, a service technician will be sent in a week. It's unbelievable the lack of quality control in this company. Customer Service is in Mexico and getting them to return messages was stressful. GE (owned by MABE) has no pride in its products. Replaced part but still leaking. Each time I must have Con Ed return to check and shut off gas. So far, I have missed work 8 days - 4 times for GE repairman and 4 times for Con Ed. The last time (2/27/19) I was told by GE repairman that he cannot locate leak. He called GE and recommended replacement unit. GE refused saying he needed to keep replacing parts until unit is fixed.

Spoke to Customer Service. They said warranty is for repair, not replacement, no matter how many times it will take to try and repair, unless GE deems the number of repairs to be "excessive." But taking off from work for a 1 to 5 pm service call 4 separate times (with no end in sight) is clearly excessive for almost everyone who works for a living. Assigned by GE Repair Case no. **. I cannot keep taking off from work for a defective GE range that may take numerous further visits to repair, if ever repaired. I find this treatment of a customer outrageous. Our GE dishwasher went out; it stopped draining and we smelled something electrical burning in it. We called Home Depot, whom we purchased it from, and they transferred us to GE Consumer Service, Conroe, Tx as we had the protection plan. The man showed up several days later and "fixed" it, saying the solenoid had burned. AT this time he did not give any reason for the part burning. It stopped draining again several months later, this time accompanied by the timer not working and of course, the burning smell. We called again and several days later the same man came to repair it. This time he told my husband that the timer going out probably caused the solenoid to burn. Did he replace the solenoid while he was there since the timer going out would cause it to go out as well? No. He fixed the timer and called it done.

When I got home from work I tried to run the dishwasher. Almost immediately we smelled it burning again. Seriously? I would prefer not to have my dishwasher burn my house down. I have requested yet another repair and a different company, but still have to wait 4 days for a repairman. GE was completely unconcerned with the fact that their electrical appliance is continuously burning inside my house. When I told them I want this defective merchandise out of my house, they informed me that I do not qualify for them to replace the dishwasher. According to them, it has not broken enough. I suppose that it will have to actually burn the house down before I qualify for a replacement? If my house burns, I will sue GE and the service center.

Lesson learned. I will never purchase a protection plan again. If an appliance goes out I would rather get rid of it and purchase a different brand and be done with it. We have wasted our time and money with this. Someone has to take off work and be home all day, we have to wait many days or weeks to get repairs, and the service has been horrible. This is not worth it. We are done with GE. This certainly explains why their stocks tanked.

Only bought them few months ago. The fridge was given to me bad with major problems. The fan doesn’t work and all seals broken. I tried calling GE numerous times. No answer ever. Never got nowhere. Most frustrating experience ever so I contacted Lowe’s general manager and finally got help. They somehow contacted them and had a GE repair guy come look so he tells me all this stuff wrong with the fridge and that they will only fix it but not replace it... Note that I had just bought the whole set days before so I called back Lowe’s and refused the fix and insisted on a new fridge, so Lowe’s made that happen.

Ok now the new fridge is having same problems. Seals not put on right and fan is going out...everything in it keeps molding within days. I can’t get ahold of no one at GE at all. Never a response or any numbers that work, only machines with no help. Can’t get anywhere... Also my stove glass top is losing its color from black to light silver every time I wipe it. I hate this company. I should of done my homework before buying. Never ever again. I will never recommend neither. I paid over $4000 for trash garbage. I had the most horrible experience with GE repair. I purchased a GE top load washer from Lowe’s in June 2016. It stopped working in October 2018. I was without a washing machine until today. I called for our first repair (GE top load washer less than 3 years old) on 10/15 and they came on 10/17 for the repair. Good start right? Well the 1st tech didn’t have the parts needed, so we had to wait over a week because the parts were on back order. The parts came 3 days later but they said the same tech had to install the parts so we still had to wait. Okay so the 2nd time the repair is done, and the machine breaks down the day after washing. Now we have to wait another 10 days for someone to come out.

They send a different tech who orders parts that are again on back order and we have to wait another 10 days. The parts arrive and they are the same parts used in the 1st repair??? But that tech made the repair On Thanksgiving Day so now our repair is pushed back another 10 days! They send yet another tech the first week of December who runs diagnostics and says it’s a motor problem and doesn’t know why the tech before him didn’t catch it and re-ordered the same parts. Again, parts need to be ordered.

To make an already very long and frustrating story shorter...the parts were on back order for February 2019 and GE didn’t even let me know. I found out from Lowe’s. Luckily I had purchased a Protection Plan from Lowe’s. They gave me a $50 laundry reimbursement and finally gave me a buy out for the full amount of my purchase including tax. After 2 months of dealing with GE Factory’s incompetence, I am so thankful that I bought the protection plan from Lowe’s and NOT from GE appliance otherwise I would still be without a washing machine. I will NEVER purchase a GE product ever again and I’m telling everyone I know to do the same!

I would NEVER recommend anyone call GE Appliance Repair unless you would like to pay more for a simple service than a new appliance (which I'd not recommend you purchase a GE Appliance due to their defective products and lack of reasonable customer care to address them). I should have paid attention to prior reviews, as they have an overall 1-STAR rating.

I HIGHLY recommend if you need appliance repair to go with a local vendor who will be transparent about their costs and fair in their assessment of labor charges. You might even try Task Rabbit or HomeAdvisor to get a few quotes from reasonable service providers. GE Appliance Repair arrived today, spent 10-minutes fixing the "issue" with my six year old dishwasher, which was actually a PRODUCT DEFECT (handle fell off because an internal screw was not sealed and therefore fell out behind the panel. Screw is not accessible unless you take apart the machine). I was charged $215 dollars for a 10-minutes visit, during which time, the repair consisted of screwing the internal screw back into place and then "sealing" it because it apparently wasn't sealed before.

This sounds to me like a great way for GE to make money. Sell products that WILL fall apart from the inside, where you cannot access them to repair yourself, so you call their service team to come repair. And then they charge insane amounts to repair their defects. Hummmm... food for thought. GE Appliance Repair doesn't even appear to have a Seattle office, only a phone number. I'd call someone you can trust, like a local business with brick and mortar. Not a number that is probably answered by someone 1000 miles away who won't help when you need them.

An AC unit that was purchased less than 3 months ago stopped blowing cold air. A repair order was called in (Wed), a Triage Tech (not a repair person) came in (Thurs), ordered part and stated the part was on back order until November. I was told I would receive an email and a call from the repair person to follow up on the next step. No call or email received.

So I called the repair number back the following afternoon (Fri). The person I spoke to there did see that the part was on back order until November at this time she transferred me to the customer escalations department. Here I spoke to a woman who agreed that November was too long to wait and that even a week mid NC summer was too long. She stated the order was placed on priority and that per policy they had to allow the parts dept an opportunity to locate the part. I hung up with her after she said I would receive a call today (Monday) with a resolution to this issue either way (repair or replace). No call, I called.

I spoke with a woman named Tanya. She reviewed the issue and stated that the person Friday could not have said I would have an answer today because they do not do follow up calls on Mondays. To which I replied, according to your hold music all calls are recorded and I know what I was told. This is where she told me that according to their policy they had to wait 48 hours after an order was placed to allow the parts department to receive the order and then they have to allow "some time" (notice that is an unspecified amount of time) for them to attempt to locate the part, the customer service representative at this time said "we are currently in limbo until the parts department researches this back order and attempts to obtain the part."

Now I have been on the phone for over 2 hours trying to resolve this issue with no clear answer. I conveyed that this is unacceptable. Disregard the weekend (since they don't work weekends) this is still a 4 day wait period before I get and answer, and not a resolution or fix mind you, just an answer that I will hopefully receive tomorrow.

Even if by some miracle our unit is repaired or replaced tomorrow this is still poor customer service/repair practices. This is in a commercial facility and too much time, money and energy has already been wasted on this issue on both ends. A quicker resolution would have been more cost effective, and much better customer service. Update: I started writing this yesterday and was pulled away before I could finish or post. Here it is almost midday and still no update by phone nor email, which means I need to call again adding to the cost on both ends yet again.

The worst customer service ever and totally liars. You should never trust them and if you want to speak with the manager you will have the worst person answer the call. He knew nothing about the technician that show up on my door. They send me a technician with a horrible attitude. Definitely he hated his job. They will lie regarding the service charge. I ordered a Trim Kit off their website and it wasn't the correct one. Took 3 phone calls to determine the proper way to return it after being left on hold each time for 30 minutes. Tried resolving by email, but they said I could contact returns via email. Finally returned the item and haven't been given credit so called again only to be left on hold for over an hour to be told it takes 30 days to receive credit and when I asked why so long was told "I don't know". I proceeded to express my dissatisfaction about the service GE was providing and ask if I could speak to someone concerning it. I was then transferred to a number that just rang and rang. No wonder everyone is going with Amazon. Their services cannot be beat! I have had several GE appliances, but after this experience I will never buy another one.

Each time I call for repairs they tell they are back order on the parts and I have to wait 4 weeks for the parts to arrive. Once the parts arrive I have to call them back. Each I call they transfer me to different dept and they put me on hold for 25 minutes before anyone can talk to me and once I got a schedule technician they give 4 hour time frame.

The technician did not show up twice. Neither they bothered letting you know they will not be coming so I WAITED ALL DAY. Nobody showed up so I have to call again next day. Then they told me they have another opening next week so finally they come. They tell me they have incomplete parts in the mail so they have to order missing parts. I so fed up of it. My microwave is still not fixed yet. GE is a piece of junk as well as customer service. Will never buy GE appliance again. Never ever. They don’t even deserve a single star rating.

When I finally got through to a person from a different department (about 45 minutes on the phone trying every number on their website), they transferred me to the correct department and I waited another 45 minutes. My fridge is only 2 years old and was here in my brand new house when I bought it. My builder and I are supposed to split the bill. When the service guy came to the house, he charged me $222. I called and fought the price as the issue was with the fan in the back of the fridge and it should be covered by a warranty. I've never had issues with my 20 year old fridge and never had to replace any parts before so I got $50 back.

My builder called and they said the total came out to $108 which is incorrect. The total is $172. I tried calling again to try to figure out what the issue was with the total prices and had to wait another hour to speak to a person. Tried to avoid this service by using their online chat but they are unable to answer any question... Really, the worst customers service and is so inconvenient for a working person to deal with. I would recommend using a different company for appliances. Their appliances don't seem to be that great and their customers service is absolute garbage. Never buying anything from them.

I specifically asked if I can spend on a small appliance or if there were any limitations and I was told yes I can use on a small appliance with no limitations. When rep came he charged me and gave me receipt for rebate and said I would have to spend at least $200 to claim rebate. Since then, I've spoken to 3 others by phone with different explanations as to how rebate works. Finally called rebate center and they explained if my fridge not repairable and I had to buy a new one... the $99 rebate would apply. WHAT A SCAM! On the current service call, so far we are up to 3 wasted days due to, what must be, the worst customer service system ever! My wife and I both have cell phones and GE have the numbers of both. If I miss a call and a message is left I receive it immediately in my email. When you arrange a service appointment they tell you they can only give a window of 4 hours and they will call beforehand to make sure you are in the house and will cancel service call if you do not answer. What they do not tell you is that the call will not be identified as GE so if you have caller ID and usually filter out spam calls you have to answer every unrecognized call in case it is GE on the line. Frustrating if you get as many spam calls as we do. So essentially you have to make the day available and answer every call.

So far the service technician has failed to show up 3 times. The only message we have ever received has been to say they are canceling the call because no one answered the phone when they called. We have no idea whether we did not answer because we are on another call, the service signal faltered, the call was filtered out as spam or in fact no one called in the first place. It's one strike and you are out, no call back number, no message. Having spoken to them they say that you cannot call them to confirm you are waiting for them in the house. You have to answer that one phone call otherwise tough luck! We have a fridge problem and we have spent about 10 days trying to get someone here and there seems to be no real chance of getting a solution unless we get lucky and make a connection. Most ridiculous client service ever. How to really annoy your customers?!!

We have had the absolute worst customer service with GE. Our washing machine has been serviced 4 times for the same issue since we purchased it in Oct. 2016. The last 2 service calls occurred on 5/21/18 and 5/31/18. We have been caught in a loop. A GE service technician comes out again, calls TAG, and does not resolve the issue. He makes no notes in our case file as to contacting TAG so when we call in again, consumer relations just repeats the process. The same GE service technician is sent out. Nothing gets resolved. This time, the tech came out, plugged in his diagnostic computer, and after speaking with TAG, handed us a paper with the customer relations number on it and said, "There's nothing more I can do.

You'll need to call this number." I call into consumer relations again, waiting over 43 minutes - once again - to speak with a rep. With this last service appointment, we also received an email the day after the tech was at our house saying our appointment had been canceled. (Yet the technician was indeed here, called TAG, and handed us the consumer relations number.) The consumer relations rep states that tech’s only note from the last service call was that "the customer didn't want service." Completely untrue! We have spent an enormous amount of time on the phone and waiting to have our washer fixed. This is a joke.

If I could give them less than a one star rating I would. Dealing with them and FedEx has been an absolute nightmare. An absolute freaking nightmare. The timing switch for my dryer broke back in October 2017 so I ordered a new part. Then that part broke 7 months in (this past May). I called them, got bounced around, and then finally got to a Returns Representative. They scheduled FedEx to come get my part that I'd have out on the bottom step and all would be well. Only not. I mistakenly forgot to set the package out. That's was entirely my fault, but then FedEx called me back and advised when they would be coming back. This time I had the part in a box with its return number on it as instructed. And FedEx never picked it up. That was on a Friday and by the time I called GE Appliances about it their Returns Department was closed.

So, I called back on Monday, got bounced around the queue by 2 representatives before finally getting to one that could or would help me, she emailed me the label and advised I can print it myself or have FedEx print it by 6/1/2018 (which is stated in the email). It is that date right now. I went to FedEx, they scanned the barcode and it came back expired. So, I stood around in FedEx for 30 minutes on the phone trying to get SOMEONE competent on the line.

I was bounced around again, placed on hold and then the line went silent, I called back, was placed on hold again, sent to the wrong division of the parts department, the sales representative gave me the direct number to the Parts Returns Department and then transferred me to the queue (thank you to her, by the way, but everyone else was absolutely terrible), I finally get a returns representative and tells me that she can't generate a new label through FedEx (who will be getting a review as well I might add) because their site is down.

She told me to call back later and maybe it'll be working again. I asked why the label expired early. She told me I had to print it on the day I receive the email. I told her that is not what I was advised and that is not what the email stated. She repeated herself which is call center code for the representative has no intentions of helping you anymore and just wants you off their line (I've worked for call centers before), and so I said thanks and goodbye because I knew I was wasting more of my time and breath. I am livid. Utterly livid by the incompetence. I will never purchase a GE Appliance again just so I can avoid their terrible customer service less that one Parts Sales Representative.

It didn't work. I called again and they scheduled a service call for Wednesday between 8 am and noon. My husband stayed home from work to wait for repairman (unpaid time off). Repair said we need a drain pump and they are on back order until July. My husband suggested we get a new machine then "right" and he said we have to give them until Friday to try to find the part so call back on Friday. Vickie called today and left my husband a message that he couldn't understand so he called back and waited 30 minutes the first time and 45 the next time before he finally gave up.

He told me that so I called and put on speaker on my desk and got through to the same number I called on Monday where I was told Vickie left a message that explained she will call back again next Wednesday to let us know when we might expect the part to be in. I was talking to Shakea (sp), she transferred me to Tanika (sp) when I told her that was unacceptable. Tanika "understood" my being upset and said she is putting a check in the mail for $40 so I can go do my laundry. I suppose if they send me $40 until July I will have enough to buy a new washer that works and it certainly won't be a GE ANYTHING!

Stop... Wait... Think... Before you buy your next Appliance from G.E. Can you afford to take 5 +days off of work? Can you be without that appliance for a month/month and a 1/2? Do you need the extra aggravation from the customer service department, because they really can't do a damn thing? Well if your answer is yes, Then buy your next appliance from G.E. They offer that and so much more. Our washer is only 7 months old. The washer stopped agitating so we called GE, they sent someone out to access and possibly fix. The technician was nice and respectful and seemed to know his job. The motor he said was bad so he ordered a new one, he said it would take about 7-10 days to get. I thought that time frame was a bit lengthy, so I called customer service.

Customer Service was nice, they told me they have some issues going on in their warehouse and would send me a check for $50. for my inconvenience. The motor came and I called to set up the appointment, got the appointment for the next day. The technician was the same man so he was familiar with the machine, he took apart our washer and tried to put the new motor in, but it was the wrong motor. He ordered a new one and said he was going to try to have them overnight it, but that never happened, so I called customer service again only to find out that they wouldn't overnight it and it would be another 7-10 days before it came. The right motor came, so I called GE to set up the appointment, got the next day. I had to cancel some appointments, but it was a Thursday and I couldn't do Friday so the next available day was Monday. And we needed to do laundry bad.

The new motor was put in, the technician said it was working, he left and I threw some sheets and stuff in the washer and it was doing the same damn thing. Called GE, they can't do anything till Monday. WTF!!! So on Monday a new technician comes out, again a very nice, respectful man looks at the machine and assesses it is definitely having the same issue, I show him the part that the other technician replaced and was definitely confused. The technician went to his truck(he had another motor) replaced it with the other one, the machine still doesn't work. The technician now thinks it is a capacitor, so I called customer service once again to have them overnight this part at the technician request, customer service said I should receive the part by Tuesday night so the technician set up the next appointment for Wednesday morning.

Tuesday night came looked on the porch to find nothing, that's right no capacitor so now I have taken more time off for Nothing!! Called customer service only to find out that the part won't be here till Friday and there is nothing they can do till Monday, and there is no guarantee that this new part will work. So on Monday it will be a month since my first call for the repair. And the best G.E. can offer me is a $25. check for the inconvenience again. They won't overnight another part, because there is one coming on Friday that was supposed to be here on (what's the small matter of a couple of days?).

Well it is Time, more time I have to take off from working, more time to go to the laundromat once, because we can't put that off anymore, we were conserving our clothes thinking that the washer would be working on Monday, & then again thinking by Wednesday for sure. So before you buy your next appliance from G.E., Think do you have time, money and patience. I don't but I am forced into it, so instead of lighting a fire in my appliance and delivering to them, I am writing out my frustrations and hoping someone else's time, money and patience will be saved.

I bought a new home, with brand new GE appliances. 9 months later, while baking a pie with my 30" GE Built-In oven, I hear a very loud buzz followed immediately by a shooting flame (high enough to be seen behind the pie on the top rack) before the circuit breaker popped and the oven lost power. I have never seen an oven die, and this is my first new oven. I contacted the builder who referred me to GE, where I followed the phone prompts to set up my repair appointment. A few days later, I was contacted by a representative in Atlanta while I was at work. She asked me to leave information on her voicemail if I wasn't able to reach her directly, which I did. I told her the oven had short circuited, there was a fire, the CB popped, and I had a hole in the bottom of my oven from it.

I received automated texts from GE stating I would need to be home from 8 am to 5 pm until the technician called (same day) to announce his/her arrival. I could not find any contact to give me a better time window. I had to sacrifice an entire workday to sit at home and wait for someone to show up. Just before 1 pm, the technician calls to ask me what the problem is. I found out later that Ms. ** apparently didn't add any information to my case file. The technician spent 45 minutes at least (not counting other stops he'd have made) driving out to my home to evaluate the electrically short circuited oven only to create another case file, and let me know to expect a call from a GE Customer Rep. in 24 to 48 hours. I canceled 2 appointments so I could SIT HERE all day only for them to come out and tell me what I already figured with a little common sense.

The technician was clean, nice, and professional... But can you believe he tried to sell me a warranty package? The builder installed 6 GE appliances for us, and he was plenty happy to try to sell me a policy. But after seeing that I'm not the only one with a bad service experience (and nobody has said anything about a replacement for this $1200 fire starter) WHY? WHO in their right mind is going to pay a couple thousand dollars almost to lose an entire work day FOR NOTHING!

Initial technician told us it would take hours to replace the parts. He said it was a very labor intensive job. We went ahead and scheduled repair. He ordered the parts and had them shipped to our house. A pair of technicians arrived and ONLY replaced the heated drip pan (a small aluminum plate with some wires attached) - in about 15 minutes. They told us the "extra" parts in the box were "in case" they were needed, and they were not needed for our fridge.

They charged us $721.58 and left. We looked in the box and realized these were not "extra" parts but in fact, a KIT to replace the drip pan plus several other hoses and parts. We were charged for the entire kit ($311.10), and labor $387.93. There is also an error on the receipt, stating they replaced the Freeze Fan Motor. It was the DRIP PAN they put in. They only did 25% of the work and left 75% of the parts but we are being forced to pay 100%. ALSO, on the invoice it is stated that they replaced fan. NOT! We have been trying to resolve this by asking for a partial refund (if we return the rest of the unused kit) or finish the job, and they REFUSE to send back a tech to finish the installation.

They said they would charge EXTRA labor if they do!!! THIS is PREDATORY pricing and VERY unethical! We are beyond furious and disgusted with GE! I will fight this till the end if they do not resolve this!!! I would NEVER charge a client for a service AND products that WERE NOT DELIVERED!!! BUYER BEWARE!!! DO NOT USE GE! Well I just bought my house and plan to buy all new appliances and will definitely not be buying any GE products for sure! My machines should have lasted for more than 2.5 years. Good to know that they don't stand behind their products either.

New home. Dishwasher not working. Scheduled service call. Saturday not an option. I was told that I would receive a call 15-30 minutes prior to arrival so that I could leave work to get home prior to the technician arriving. I received an automated message stating I was next in line. I called back and sifted through the phone system to speak with someone. Eventually I was told that he could arrive anytime between 1:00-5:00, but that he would probably come to my house next. They said there was no way to contact the individual doing the work or to know where he was coming from. We live in the country, so his drive to us could have been easily an hour.

I arrived at 1:10 pm, waited an hour, called back again, and was told he had already been there at 1:30 pm. I explained that that was impossible as I had been there the entire time. Even after speaking with a supervisor, their only option was to schedule for another date/time. I explained, if only I had been able to actually be in contact with the individual, all the issues could have been avoided. Horrible customer service!!! I will never buy GE!!!

Since then complete runaround by service dept to re-schedule including getting hung up on just now. The repair guy never showed up. We called to find out what happened. Customer service told us the repair guy called but no one answered so he didn't show. Basically we should have carried our cell phone by our side. So the text message sent to confirm means nothing. I guess they are called General Electric because they are poor at their repair service.

I will never purchase another GE product ever again. For starters, be prepared to spend hours on the phone when trying to resolve any GE issue. The hold times (with awful music), disconnections and transfers are absolutely ridiculous. The amount of time spent on the phone alone is unacceptable, not to mention days taken off from work to accommodate numerous repairs.

We purchased a stack washer/dryer unit for a vacation condo. From day one we noticed the dryer was leaving black marks on our sheets, towels, clothing, etc. We have to drive three hours round trip every time someone is scheduled to go make a repair. After two unsuccessful repairs I requested that the unit be replaced. Of course, this was not as simple as it sounds. It required yet ANOTHER visit from the repair serviceman only for him to stand in my kitchen and make a phone call to the GE engineering dept and for them to deem the appliance "unrepairable". The repairman did NOTHING to the appliance on this visit, Between the three hour round trip drive and the four hour window arrival time, this was another day I had to take off from work (total three days now).

Note, GE will not do Saturday appointments for any kind of warranty work and of course, they do nothing to compensate for the inconveniences of time and missed work days. So long story short, GE delivers a new unit to us. Upon delivery, the delivery men break our coach light outside our door. When I mentioned it to the delivery guy he said "I'll just give you $20 for it right now. They're going to bill me anyway. Besides, I about broke my back getting it up here". Totally unprofessional in every way. I told him I would go through the proper channels to address the damage and I documented it on the signature sheet (and refused his cash offer). I am now going through GE insurance for this claim. On top of that, the installation was subpar.

They did not use any plumber's tape at the connection site which resulted in a leak from the washer. I did report all of this to GE (two calls, disconnected the first time, both calls with 20 minute hold times), although I seriously doubt they will do anything about it. Almost all the GE Consumer Relations representatives that I have spoken to over the past several months are rude and incompetent, to include the supervisors over them. Sadly, I can see that poor service and unprofessionalism is just a general, acceptable theme in the GE company. I have always stuck to high-end appliance brands for the service and reliability but decided to go cheaper for this particular item because it is in our vacation condo and not used on a daily basis. Lesson learned... You get what you pay for. Never again.

GE deserves negative stars. The quality and service are the worst. We will never buy or recommend GE. We would advise to avoid GE Monogram at all costs. Our GE Monogram 48” dual fuel range, 48" hood and ducts, 36" freezer, 36" refrigerator, Advantium microwave oven, top of the line dishwasher, oversized washing machine and dryer all arrived damaged, defective and broken. It has been a year and parts arrived damaged. There are serious issues with the culture at GE Monogram, Corporate Office and the Service Department. GE has rudely advised they are no longer going to honor our warranty or provide replacement parts to the items that arrived damaged because each item off the assembly line is defective and they are giving up.

GE Corporate Office sternly told me we are not going to replace the parts that were promised to us on the day of delivery. Regardless of spending a lot of money on GE Monogram, the GE approach is unacceptable. The Assistant to the President is argumentative, rude and tried to make an argument that my husband and I should lower our standards and accept the defects. I know we are like any customer who pays for a product and especially when it is going in a new custom home that we don’t expect or want dents, dings, discoloration or faulty and broken appliances in our home and we also don’t want GE telling us we should. There are other high end alternatives to GE that have much better designed products with superior quality and customer service.

GE does not have good record keeping, they do not honor extended warranties and they are not flexible to work with customers. The extended warranties are serviced by third parties. Surprisingly, our products are out of warranty even though they are less than a year old because GE uses the date of when the item was sent to the store versus when we received it and installed it. We have set up so many service calls and today the service person was rude, hung up on us and we still don’t know if he is showing up after waiting all day for him. We have been told by GE Monogram that we cannot communicate or set up any service calls with GE Monogram Preferred, we have to coordinate with the Assistance of the President and that person is on vacation. Doing anything with GE is painful, difficult and a waste of time where nothing ever gets resolved.

GE blames to customer for being difficult when the reality is customers lose their patients when they chase GE for a year for defective and broken appliances. When we tried to leave bad GE reviews, GE doesn’t allow reviews on certain products and they monitor what you can say. They rejected our reviews which advised of the issues we experienced. In order to upload some of our reviews, we had to delete a lot of the issues we have which doesn’t warn other customers. We wish we never bought GE Monogram because of all of the issues and the design.

GE Monogram doesn’t work well with customer European modern cabinetry. Our cabinet maker advised they never buy or recommend GE for this very reason along with the quality. Some of our trades advised that their clients who have GE Monogram are complaining about the same issues we are having, it is too bad to learn too late. I hope it isn’t too late for the person reading this review.

Two weeks ago, in early November, the stove top on our GE Hotpoint range stopped working. On the first service call a part was needed, on the second call the Tech realized it was the wrong part (ordered by GE), on what will be the third call on 11/27, GE will visit again but Consumer Relations is not sure they have the right part...

When speaking to Consumer Relations, you learn there is not ownership to coordinate the service calls or communication between technicians and you. The CR area is simply an answering service, they are only as good as the computer system telling them what is available. The GE product performance is abominable and given the track record with the microwave, I am fairly certain there are little to no quality assurance checks in the company. It was my mistake to choose GE, I will not make that mistake again.

If they can't find a part then under the warranty you'll get a replacement but that takes 2 weeks at least! DO NOT BUY GE... PC Richards or Sears would handle the problem usually BUT not for GE... I have had my refrigerator for 2 1/2 years and I am so angry that it has problems already. I was stupid to not get the extended warranty on the unit but I didn't. But it hasn't... FOR OVER A MONTH!!!

What they need to realize is that these are real people who rely on your products every day. I had to throw out over $100 in food because the unit isn't working. I had water leak onto the floor due to the ice melting out of the ice dispenser. We purchased a GE "laundry center" about a month ago. After a few days, it stopped as soon as it was filled with water and never entered the wash cycle. We had to fiddle with the controls to get it to empty. Upon calling GE service we discovered that it would be 10 days before we could have a technician at our house. I called to complain since we are in our 70's and it is quite an inconvenience to have to go to a laundromat.

They said they would have a technician at our house tomorrow. Then they called on the morning to say he was ill and that the original appointment was reinstated. Of course the window they give you is 8 to 5 pm so someone has to remain home the entire day. The technician arrived 10 days later and after inspecting the unit suggested that it was a "cord issue". So I replaced the cord myself to no avail. The tech then said he would have to order a part and that it would be another week. The appointment was set with GE. The day arrived and the technician showed up looking for the part which was supposed to have been sent to our house (no one told us this).

Since the part was not there he could not repair the machine. He told us that he was going to come back in two days. That day arrived but we had not heard from him or GE. I called GE and after dodging the usual robo-responses I was able to reach a human being by persistently and relentlessly pushing the "0" button. They told me that my appointment had been rescheduled for the following Wednesday. The part had not yet been delivered to the warehouse in Georgia, even though it had been shipped from Kentucky. I asked what carrier they used who would take 10 days to ship something from Kentucky to Georgia but I did not receive a coherent answer.

So now it will be three entire days that one of us will have to stay home, and we still have no confidence that the machine will be fixed. I did manage to get them to send us a check for $40.00 for the laundry bills! What a joke! DO NOT buy GE products. First of all, they are not really GE products anymore. My family purchased top of the line GE washer/dryer end of year 2013 making these models 3.5 years old. The pair was $2200 after discounts before setup/taxes. A significant investment for our family. The washer had 1 minor repair less than 1 year in... then a week ago it began making very loud noises during the spin cycle and began leaking any liquid detergents or softeners onto the floor as soon as they were poured into the dispenser. I was traveling so my wife was waiting for my return so I could deal with coordinating the repair. Before I could return and coordinate the repair, my wife calls and tells me that she just watched the dryer burn up its control board -- smoking and glowing orange behind the panel right before her eyes. She quickly unplugged it and stopped the internal fire. We were fortunate that she hadn't set the dryer to run and gone outside... We might be replacing much more than appliances!

I return home that evening and the next day the local dealer/service center where we purchased the appliances takes a look and indicates that neither item is worth repairing as the cost of the repairs would be more than 2/3 the original purchase price and we would still have machines that were at higher risk for additional failures and no warranty. $2200 (plus setup and taxes) gone, after 3.5 years. Dealer/service center recommends contacting GE consumer relations immediately and gives us the information to do so. Before calling them, I do some research. Consumer Reports, etc. and find that washer and dryer manufacturers, including GE, state that the typical life of their products is between 10-13 years on average... not 3.5.

I call GE. Got a very nice representative name Crystal. Crystal could only offer me discounts on parts (what about the labor, which can be as much or more???) or a $100 rebate to use toward GE washer/dryer. This is not acceptable, GE has our $/benefit of our buying yet we have only 1/3 the benefit the industry expects us to receive by their own expectations! After several holds, asking for a supervisor, getting a long hold, then no supervisor, Crystal comes back and says that's all she can do -- some parts discounts or $100 rebate to buy more GE. Really?

So I emphasize that GE has our $/benefit of the sale but we don't have the benefit of our purchase. She responded that GE does not have our $ but that local dealer/service center does? What? GE just gives the dealer/service stores their appliances out of the goodness of their heart so the dealer can make all the $? I had no idea GE was a 100% charitable organization... So I checked and they are not incorporated as a charitable organization or a non-profit or even a not-for-profit. GE Appliances reported $6.34 B in revenues in 2015 and nearly $800 M in profit... I guess they do have my $! Bottom line -- Expensive GE Washer and Dryer -- "Made in USA" -- doesn't come with commensurate expectation of value and customer service. Now GE is sold to Chinese appliance conglomerate Haier -- I doubt quality/value and customer service are going to get better...

We paid almost 700$ for a PEB1590SMSS Profile convection microwave, and we loved it. But, after 3.75 years it needed a new motherboard & microswitch. Now, it's 4.5 years old and it needs a new harness! In addition, to the expensive microwave, we paid almost 300$ for the trim kit. It seems we have a lemon and we don't want to keep paying for more and more costly repairs, not to mention the hassle for waiting for repair guys and being without a microwave! But it seems like we need to buy a new microwave and trim kit!?

All our appliances are GE Profile, and we want to keep our appliances consistent, but don't want to pay for a new expensive microwave and trim kit every 3 years! It seems like GE is trying to scam customers by discontinuing their products and forcing customers to buy new versions, when their faulty products fail. For such an expensive item, I expect it to last at least as long as a cheap microwave, not half as long! We can't even relate how disappointed we are with GE!

In late 2015, we built a house and outfitted the kitchen at Home Depot with refrigerator, gas stove, microwave and dishwasher from GE. We bought a service contract for the refrigerator. In less than 18 months, problems began. One year after installation, the refrigerator defrost fan failed. It took eight weeks(!), over 30 phone calls, four service visits (the first damaged the unit beyond repair) and ultimately the sacrifice of our service contract to get a replacement refrigerator (the first one delivered was the wrong unit). The second repair person said the first repair person did not know what he was doing by replacing a defrost fan with the incorrect unit. We suffered over eight weeks without a refrigerator over the Thanksgiving/XMas season!

Next the microwave stopped working (and GE offered a new unit for over $300!). Now the dishwasher does not dry the dishes and the utensil basket continuously falls off the rack. Finally, the stove will not always ignite in the broiler. We have two friends building houses and have warned them about GE appliances. We have reported our circumstances to our Home Depot store and its headquarters. Some form of compensation for the literal dozens and dozens of hours dedicated to repairs, replacements and frustration are warranted. We will continue to boycott GE and say to anyone who will listen regarding our misfortunes. Complimentary service to our dishwasher and stove would be the first thing the company can do to rebuild its reputation.

I purchased a GE washer six months ago. It stopped draining water after three weeks of light use. GE sent a repair person, he fixed it and told me that it was a "Design flaw" related to the impeller. The washer has worked fine for the past five months (3 to 4 loads per week). Sunday, 5/7/17, it began making a screeching noise during the "Wash cycle", and an occasional banging noise. Monday, 5/8/17, I called GE Service and Repair. After speaking to several people there, and being put on hold numerous times, I was told, curtly, that it would be two weeks before it would be convenient for them to send a repair person.

I called corporate headquarters in Fairfield, CT., was given the same spiel. GE is a joke! They do NOT operate in good faith, they are so big, they do whatever they feel like. PS: For the past three months, of my six-month ownership of the wash, each month I receive a letter regarding an extended warranty - HaHa, they don't even want to honor their manufacturers' warranty!

I will never ever order from GE again because they expect me to wait 6 days for service (just as bad or worse than Brandsmart). Nothing is more important than customer service. I wanted to buy an American product but the GE customer service availability is so bad I regret it. To be clear, customer service is very nice and they do their job. The company has simply decided not to have enough repair people as they would rather pocket the profits than provide good quality service. I'm not waiting 6 days for someone to come check my dishwasher. That's just disgusting to think that I could wait that long. Not buying your GE products will show you what we think of your service. I had to jump through hoops to get faster service when it should have been offered up front.

When I listened to a confirmation number I was told that There would be a trip charge of about $109. I called back to cancel & was told that was the "system" response without a serial number. OK. Repair guy shows up. Says he will order hinges (L&R). LARGE package shows up about one week later. Parts are wrong! TWO left hinges & a DOOR???

I call to cancel appointment for the next day. I was told someone would CALL ME to ensure that correct parts would be ordered & reschedule repair. NEVER happened. I had to call & wait on HOLD AGAIN. I told rep that I was not going to wait around all day for someone to show up to repair the dishwasher. I wanted someone at a specific time. "Can't do that" they say. Will try to make as a first appointment in the day & will call ahead to me. "OK", I say. Incompetent & Uncooperative. IF, IF I'm available, I will let them repair it. If not, I'll fix it myself & sell the extra door that they sent me.

I told them to not waste my time and make me take time off from work if the technician cannot come with these parts. The technician came and removed the knob and the timer from washing machine, went out to his truck and said: "I do not have the parts." I was told I would have to take off again from work the following week or wait three (3) weeks for a Saturday appointment.

My supervisor would not allow me to take another day off for this. I was billed $99.95 for a service I never received! I disputed this and they reduced this charge to $50.00. I purchased a refrigerator during the holiday season when families are very busy. I visually inspected the refrigerator upon receiving it. However, I did not run my hands along the side where the defect lays. There are waves on the side panel and the fridge makes a constant buzzing sound. A technician was sent out to address the noise but said he could do nothing about the waves. Although very curt he acknowledged the waves were not dents from delivery or abuse. He proposed I was "arguing a moot point", basically not wanting to address the annoying buzz coming from the appliance suggesting if I was planning to call customer relations then I'd be getting a new refrigerator.

Well, I called customer relations. I got Jennifer who was also very rude, even taking to yelling at me. I then called back and asked for a supervisor. After explaining my situation to Evan I got Danielle. Which I then explained my situation again. I sent pictures via email of the defect. In the end, I was told this was all cosmetic and the warranty does not cover dents which are cosmetic.

I did not spend money on a used, refurbished, reconditioned, dented, or defective refrigerator. Cosmetic as you call it - it is defective. I did not manufacture the refrigerator, GE did. I expect GE to take pride in their quality. This is not the quality of work you should be putting out. This is substandard quality assurance. Do not put onus of responsibility on the customer to catch all of your defects. You didn't! Your employees do not have the right to be rude to or yell at your customers. I chose GE over Samsung because of Samsung's history of terrible customer service. I see that GE offers no better. I am doing a complete kitchen remodel. I will be returning your dishwasher, this refrigerator will go to the garage and I will not be purchasing anymore GE appliances.

Service person said he could not wait and left. Stove was pulled from wall 2 minutes after he left. After this first service call I've had 4 service calls cancelled, by GE for no apparent reason. Finally on 1/27, another service person came out and had to order parts. Parts arrived and another appointment was set up for 2/6/17. They just left and need to order more parts. So as of this writing still no working stove/oven.

I have never been treated so poorly by customer service, I've been lied to, hung up on. I will NEVER purchase another GE product again. Been 3 weeks without a range and they are coming back on Thursday. I guess they don't know what they're doing just changing parts until they finally get the right one. They offer (push you to) a $125.00 "Go find your own guy". That way GE/Rheem side steps their warranty (then it belongs to your guy). At the end you are left with a piece of metal and cold water. I work for a small furniture company and am the person assigned to contact GE to deal with the numerous complaints about GE appliances, and their warranty failures. I work hard to get GE to honor their warranties, and it is not an easy job. In most cases, if you made your purchase from a small appliance store, they have someone who will try to help you with warranty problems. I thought I would share a couple of tricks I have learned to use in dealing with them... but I will warn you that there is no guarantee that it will work with them every time.

First, call 1-800-626-2005. Why? Well, you can always get a human being there, unlike their normal appliance repair at 1-800-432-2737. Listen to the prompts, and wait until you are offered the option to ask questions about GE appliances. It's a sales line and always staffed with humans. When you speak with the rep, just ask about their prices or anything else about their appliances and give them a minute to brag about their product. Now, tell them your problem. I always like to ask why they don't honor their warranty... after you let the rep stammer a bit, if you don't get a satisfactory answer, DEMAND to speak with his/her supervisor. Now, without being vulgar, let the supervisor have it with both barrels! Don't feel bad about them having to stop playing solitaire or surfing the internet, they should be taking care of YOUR PROBLEM NOW!

Don't let them bully you. Push back and make absolutely sure you have their undivided attention. Tell them you have tried all of the other options, and this is a last resort before contacting your attorney. In some misguided way, GE's employees seem to feel that the longer they can put off repairs to your appliance the more secure their employment is. Apparently they don't grasp that there are other solutions to consumers' appliance needs.

Do NOT let them lie to you. Hold them to task and be adamant about what you want as a solution for your situation. Either record your conversations (yes, it usually takes more than 2 calls) or take good notes. Always keep the details of any appointment they schedule --- the service provider's name and location (get a phone number if possible), the date (make them repeat it at least once) and time (if provided) and make sure they stick to it. If they make an appointment for Thursday, don't wait until Friday to ask why no one showed up. If your service is scheduled for 1:00 PM or later, call GE by noon to confirm the service provider will be there. If they aren't there by the scheduled time, call GE again.

If no specific time was set, call each hour until the service provider arrives. GE is going to tell you they can't help you, but that isn't true. Be persistent and they will get you taken care of because they really want to get back to texting their boyfriend, playing on their phone or tablet, or gossiping... which you keep interrupting.

10.5 months ago I purchased a GE Cafe dishwasher. The warranty on the product from GE is for 1 year. One week before Christmas, the dishwasher stopped working. I had turned on the dishwasher and the machine lost power mid cycle. I had half washed dishes and the bottom of the machine was filled with water. I called the GE service number and set up an appointment for the following week. I was already disappointed that I had to wait a week for a company to address a warranty. I took the day off and waited. And waited. And waited. No one showed. No one called. No one bothered to inform me what was going on. I was home during my four hour window, why didn't GE honor THEIR promise to show up? GE picked the time, why didn't they follow through?

Eventually I was able to get hold of a living person at GE and they contacted the repairman. So, into hour 5 of my wait, the repairman called me. He told me he was too far away and wasn't coming. Then he diagnosed the problem over the phone (without looking at the machine). He told me he couldn't fix it anyway. He advised me to take another day off from work and make another appointment. Sure, GE does not think my job is valuable. Apparently what I do for a living is pointless and I should just stay home. I mean the appliance is under warranty so if GE waits long enough, the warranty will expire. Lessons: GE repairmen cannot fix GE machines. They also don't have the common courtesy to call you and talk to you. GE products will break but GE doesn't give a damn. And finally, a GE warranty does not guarantee that GE will even try to fix your problem. Basically, they will give you the honey badger treatment.

My less than a year old Adora electric stove is broken. I have probably used the oven maybe 10 times total and it just stopped working one day. So I call GE for service. The soonest they can get someone in is 2 weeks. SO, forget Thanksgiving!! Anyway, 2 weeks goes by and the guy comes and he can't fix it. He will order a part and I will get it and then I can schedule ANOTHER service call. The only "TIME SLOT" in my area is, um, between 8am and 5pm, super. So, another entire day wasted waiting for GE service for a new stove that shouldn't be broken.

The second service call is scheduled a week out, so that's a little better, as now my oven has been out of service for over one month. Yesterday I wait during my allotted time slot, you know, 8am to 5pm. Well, no one ever showed. I actually called GE at 4:30pm concerned that no one had contacted me yet since I was supposed to get a call 30minutes before arrival. They assured me nothing seemed wrong and I need to wait. I asked them what I should do if no one showed up. They told me I'd have to reschedule, and the only "TIME SLOT" available was 8am to 5pm. Well, no one showed up by 5pm and I called back to tell them this and "OH, the place you call to schedule CLOSES at 5pm".

So here I am having waited, LITERALLY ALL DAY, and now their call center is closed, no one has contacted me about my service appointment and I have no one to talk to about it. Luckily the dispatcher called me at about 5:15pm to say he was sorry but the technician didn't seem appointment and has already gone home for the day. Awesome. I completely unload all my frustration on this guy, and I have to admit he handled it well. He was able to reschedule the appointment for the next day between 3pm and 5pm, so apparently GE appliance service can offer smaller appointment windows to customers but they choose not to, which is terrible.

I have now wasted two full days and over 5 weeks with a broken Adora electric stove. I thought this thing would be reliable, or at least the service would be but it's not. And it is so completely wrong to force customers to accept an appointment window of 9 hours, especially when they do not have a system in place to ensure that the service technicians will actually SEE the appointments that are on their schedule. Unless they have 100% success with their appointment system, and will NEVER miss a scheduled call they really should come up with a better system for the customer who ends up being a victim to GE Appliance service's total failure to communicate a schedule correctly. I was told it was a "computer error". Regardless of whether or not this is actually true the fact remains that the system is not solid and they should not inconvenience people this way, it's just plain wrong.

Sept. 21, 2016 I had a GE serviceman come to repair my out of warranty GE microwave. The problem was that the platter would not rotate and the cooling fan would not run although it would heat. The service man did no diagnosis other than to observe the problem I just described. He immediately said "you need a new platter motor and a new fan motor" that he would have to order. The cost would be approx. $350. I questioned his diagnosis and said the probability of both motors going bad at the same time was hard to believe. His response was "they aren't running are they?"

I told him I could buy a new microwave for the cost of the repair. And to not proceed any further. He charge me $106.95 and left. He was in and out in about 15 minutes. I continued to use the microwave for the next few days as it would still heat. Then all of a sudden the problem resolved itself without any actions on my part. It continues to run trouble free to this day (Nov.4). Obviously his armchair diagnosis was wrong. Two motors just do not magically heal themselves, and I got ripped off for $106.95. I believe the real problem is probably the door switches because that is the only thing that moves when I used the microwave. Based on this experience I will never use GE service again or for that matter buy any GE products. I would recommend to anyone who requires service on a GE product DO NOT USE GE FACTORY AUTHORIZED SERVICE.

We were delivered a new GE washing machine from a local appliance company. Upon first use, the machine quit mid-cycle and would not work. The appliance installers came the next day, said it looked like a "faulty machine" and told us because it was now under GE warranty, we would have to go through GE Service Repairs for a fix. GE could not send anyone out until a week later. Four hour appointment windows - worse than the cable company in this day and age. When GE service finally came out, they could not fix the problem and had to order parts... on a brand new machine. Could not come back again for several days. Parts were delivered to our home and GE service came out again. Replaced both parts and declared everything to be working. "Passed all my tests!" he said. The machine stalled again on the very first use.

Tried to call the service guy back (still within our 4 hour window) but he would not answer his phone and did not return two messages that were left. Called the GE Service Repair line. On hold for over 20 minutes before someone would answer the call. Was told we'd have to wait another week for someone to come out and look at the washer again. Unacceptable. Was given a consumer feedback line and again, placed on hold for nearly 30 minutes only to be told the same thing, that no one could come out for another week. No urgency or empathy displayed by GE. It's clear their representatives are reading from scripted lines and don't care about the individual customer. Our local appliance company agreed to replace the washer and deal with GE directly. Eluded to our machine being "a lemon." We will never buy a GE appliance again due to the horrible customer service we received and would never recommend GE to others. Pathetic!
