This washer is quiet and does a very good job. We bought an almost new unit from a neighbor. I really like the stackable feature. And both washer and dryer are quite large capacity. The unit fits into a small closet that was converted with hookups.

I have had my Frigidaire front load washer for at least 15 years and I am very pleased. Although I know it's about time to be replaced. It is easy to load and unload. The only thing I don't like about the front load washers are that you cannot add items to it once it starts. However it takes less water and less detergent which is a very big plus.

Within 8 months of purchase our brand new Frigidaire Washer started leaking in our second floor laundry room causing much stress. Frigidaire sent a local company that appears incompetent as two technicians have come now each diagnosing different issues and still after two weeks no repairs have been made and we continue to wait while additional parts are ordered.
When calling to update Frigidaire after the second technician’s visit we were told two things- 1. We have no choice but to continue waiting on the parts and another visit TBD from the same company AND 2. They will NOT provide us with a new washer despite all the obvious manufacturer defects unless a technician diagnoses as “irreparable”... We have had to wash all clothes for our family by hand and continue to clean up water as the washer continues to actively leak from the bottom. The 3 diagnosed issues so far include “worn out shocks/suspension”, “worn out tub ring”, and “leaking cold water valve inside washer”. This is absolutely ridiculous for a brand new product!

I purchased a Frigidaire stackable washer/dryer about three years ago and have has issues since day one with the washer. My dark laundry consistently comes out of the washer with huge areas of lint stuck to the clothes. I frequently have to rewash the clothes as the lint does not come off, even when brushed with a lint roller or brush. It is a constant frustration and it doesn’t matter what I try, the problem is the same. I use a high efficiency liquid laundry detergent and follow the manufacturer’s directions with the same frustrating result. I have tried putting in smaller loads with no change. I have changed the water temperature with no change. The dark clothing comes out of the washer looking dirtier than when it went in. It takes a long time for even a regular cycle to complete and then I have to rewash the load. A waste of my time, money, resources and energy.
The dryer is not too bad but it does tumble the clothing, especially sheets and towels, into a ball that doesn’t dry, necessitating me having to put it through again. Another waste of energy and resources. I would not recommend this unit at all as it is ineffective on every level. I am getting rid of this unit and purchasing another but it will not be anything manufactured by Frigidaire.

I purchased this unit 3 years ago. Model # FFLE1011MW2. It has been so frustrating trying to wash a load of clothes. The dryer, no problem. The washer however will sometimes wash. Sometimes it fills drains and stops. Sometimes it washes fine but don’t spin the clothes. I really think they should have been a recall on this product. I hope no one has to endure the frustration I have. You can’t start a load and walk away because you don’t know what it’s going to do so you have to stay with it. I have not reached out to a repair technician because at this point I don’t even care anymore. I’m just buying a new set but it won’t be a Frigidaire that for sure. For anyone that has one of these best of luck.

The appliances were in our house when we bought it, so we determined that we had all the low end Frigidaire appliances. How bad could a washing machine be? I had a front loader washing machine in my home in San Francisco and never had any problem with it. Now I am in Philadelphia, and this front loader smells like damp towels, dirty sneakers and no matter what I do the smell comes back. I cleaned the rubber around the door thoroughly. I followed the recommendation in the manual that suggested using bleach for a wash and did this repeatedly. It got rid of the smell for a week or so, but came right back. I also purchased the cleaner tablets that are strictly for this purpose and had the same results. I left the door of the washing machine open when not in use to no avail.
The dryer is equally disappointing in that when I wash sheets or duvet covers, they are spun into a tight ball which renders them impossible to dry. Untangling them is a timely chore and has to be done two or three times during the drying process. I decided to buy a new set and various sales people that I conferred with suggested that the problem with the washer might be the type of water in Philly that causes the smell in the washing machine. I am looking at a top loader now. As for the dryer, nobody has a solution for the spinning into a ball for the dryer, so I have to take my chances. I have been advised over and over again, that I should only expect 7 years from my new appliances, regardless of the manufacturer. The lifespan of previous appliances of 25 years and such are no longer. The reason for 2 stars is that a washing machine that stinks is counter to the purpose and so it fails miserably.

You have no control of how long the wash cycle takes. It's 60-80 mins for a regular load. There is no softener dispenser, I had to buy a softener ball dispenser. Several times the ball does not empty. There's not enough water for the ball to open. I set the rinse level on high. Checked it, there wasn't enough rinse water to cover the clothes. Spend a few dollars more and get a washer that you actually have control over, like wash times, wash levels and a softener dispenser. There is no light in the dryer. The washer smells fishy after it sits for a few days. When we travel and use Airbnb. There's some really nice stacked machines. This is not one of them.

Bought a brand new dryer from Frigidaire and it was broken the first time we used it. The dryer pours gas out when running! We were told we have to go through the warranty to have someone come out and look at it. They won’t just replace our brand new dryer with a working one. A week later they send someone out to look at it and he had to order a part. Another week later he comes to fix it and the dryer still pours gas out and I mean the whole house smells of gas every time he turns it on. We are told it’s defective and he will have to talk to Frigidaire and see if they will replace it or if he will have to keep working on it and there’s an issue with the wiring.
Another week later they say they refuse to replace our dryer and they will try to replace the gas valve, even though the repair guy says it’s not the gas valve. It’s wiring. After a couple days they agree to mail us new wiring and will send someone to working on it after we let them know we received the part in the mail. Here we are 3 weeks later with a none working brand new dryer and beyond frustrated. We would have never purchased a product from Frigidaire had we known if our new product was defective they wouldn’t replace it with a working one. Horrible customer service, very disappointed, and worried that this dryer that pours gas out and has faulty wiring is a ticking time bomb!!

We have had our Frigidaire Affinity for EIGHT years with no problems whatsoever--till yesterday. The washer stalled on the spin cycle. Problem was wads of some kind of matted, tarry stuff on the drain filter. Stuff that comes off dirty clothes? Don't think I cleaned the washer every time it asked "Clean washer"? And think maybe that was the problem. OR, how to get out the gunk that accumulates on the filter? Where is my manual? Can't find. Otherwise, I have been DELIGHTED with my wonderful, stalwart Frigidaire Affinity. And even this problem is probably just use-related. And, it might be my own darned fault, just as Jimmy Buffett said.

Purchased both of these as a brand new set in 2014. Had to replace the heating coil in the dryer in 2016. Heating coil went out again in early 2019. Replaced the dryer in 2019 with a different brand. The washer requires monthly cleaning to get the mold/mildew out of the front door seal. If you leave it open to dry so it won't get gunky, the stress on the hinges pulls the door out of alignment and has caused the silver flashing to crack. The soap dispenser needs to be cleaned on the same schedule as well for the same reason. I predict a new washer as well in early 2020.

We bought a Frigidaire Affinity dryer in the Fall of 2014. It is no longer under warranty so the consistent repair required is at our own expense. We’ve regularly cleaned the lint screen, which never did work correctly, and results in a regular buildup of lint throughout the entire interior of the unit. It was repaired by a professional once who explained the problem with the lint screen that doesn’t catch lint, but disperses throughout the interior, causing a buildup of lint and a potential fire hazard. To date, we regular have to take the dryer apart ourselves in order to clean out the lint within, and the air flow is weakened as a result, leaving our clothes damp after 90 minutes of drying time... I’ll never buy another Frigidaire appliance again.

We upped house water temp/wash all loads at hot or warm setting/wash all loads on heavy duty setting/make loads heavier by soaking them first to fool machine to add more water. Many times we wash loads x2. We purchased 4 high end Frigidaire appliances at same time but are getting nowhere with this issue with manufacturer. (No issues with other appliances.) The gas dryer came with the new home. Unfortunately this is how the builder saved money by getting these inferior Frigidaire appliances and unaware buyers not realizing the poor quality. This dryer has to be run more than once at maximum temperature and maximum drying! It is not being overloaded. Twice someone was sent who did some sort of test to see hot air was going through it and, therefore, said it was working. I know hot air comes out! It’s just not drying the clothes properly. I’ve also had the vent checked by the builder, including going on top of the roof. The final answer from the repairman was perhaps I’d have to use the timed dry instead of the sensor cycles. Also, the towels, when done, have a bad feel to them, not quite slimy, but not how you’d expect towels to feel. Furthermore, I’ve had them start to smell after one use showing that bacteria has not been dried out of them!!!

I have owned my set for 14 mos. and I have only had one problem with the washer. In adding fabric softener, I found out that it was clogging the drain hole and had to have a tech to come out and fix it. He told me to pour hot water in the fabric softener dispenser to keep that hole clean. So now, after 3 or 4 wash loads, I pour hot water that I heat up in the microwave, then I run it on a drain and spin cycle. That has worked the best.

After 10-years they began having electronic issues but after find a repair person I found the replacement parts for about half the price of buying new units that were designed without considering consumers who do not have families to keep clean. I was surprised that all manufacturers are blind to building trim units for Single people who want small units not big and bulky.

We purchased this washing machine brand new in 2007. We immediately had a problem with the door latch not working properly, which was replaced under warranty. It’s still did not work right and never has. You have to lift the door up and push it in gently to make it latch. The rubber seal between the door and interior drum collects water and gets moldy even after leaving the door open between cycles. It is very difficult to clean and never looks fully clean. We had to replace the motherboard due to it making a terrible noise and throwing error codes, which we were able to do ourselves for a little over $100. Having it repaired by someone else would surely have a cost several hundred. It stopped draining and spinning recently. After some research online I believe it is a clogged pump or filter, but we are not going to spend any more money on this. I consider it a lemon.

They were rude and inconsiderate to my situation. My husband and I are currently unemployed and I am fighting with unemployment. Manufactured in Mexico 09/2012, model # FAFS4073NA0. This also falls under the WHIRLPOOL brand corp. Buyer beware! Several issues with Frigidaire Affinity washers. It stopped doing Final Rinse. I had to turn it upside down to access the tubing where the trap is located in order to remove and clean it, 3 times a year every year since 2012. This machine is HEAVY. Error/Door Lock won't latch. I unplugged door wiring harness for 30 seconds & plugged in again and this worked- temporarily. I had to remove the top panel of the machine to do this but IF this works for you it's only a temporary solution because the door latch will need to be replaced.
Fuses blew resulting in washer not powering on. You can't just change out these fuses because they're soldered into the motherboard (sometimes called Motarboard) so the entire motherboard must be replaced. $150+ IF you can find the part in stock anywhere and IF you DIY instead of calling an expensive repairman. Machine NEVER drains completely resulting in mold growth. There will always be water lingering somewhere in the machine, hoses etc. Using the cleaning tablets and running cycles with Clorox bleach is a temporary solution because in a week you'll be smelling something "off" once again. I have mold allergy and have lost count of the number of migraines this has caused. Manufacturers know about these issues and more but really don't care because they know we'll get tired of the expensive repairs and just buy something new.

Frigidaire FFFW5000QW 3.9 cu. ft. Front-Load Washer - I was given this washing machine by the Edison for free in exchange for my old washer because they claimed it was more energy efficient. What they didn't say is how cost INEFFICIENT it was going to be. I had a Kenmore Washing Machine for 25 years and it only had to have a hose replaced once. I got this current Washer in 2015. Of course it started breaking down after the Warranty expired.
This Washer started breaking down in 2016, with the front opening leaking water while it was in the Wash Cycle. Then water started flooding the room I keep it in 3 weeks ago. It cost $200.00 to fix it because the Water Inlet Valve cracked. I had a our local plumber come out and he confirmed he's had nothing but problem calls with this Washer. He said we needed to wipe off the inside of the front opening to keep it from leaking, which was nowhere in the instructions in the Frigidaire Manual. What kind of parts break down after only 3 years of use in a Washing Machine?
The other ongoing problem that "can't" be fixed is this horrid mildew smell coming out of the inside of the Washer itself. I've tried everything to get that smell out, and nothing works. It makes the clothes smell badly and during the hot weather, it's even worse. If I forget to take the clothes out of the Washer I have to run a cycle all over again because of that odor. NOTHING like this ever happened with my old Washer, but under the guise of being energy efficient, I think Frigidaire passed these defective machines off on Edison for some low bulk price and made it sound like they were doing Senior Citizens a favor when, in reality, they deliberately sold faulty equipment to the public. How typical. The public shouldn't have to work this hard, waste this much time and pay out for repairs for someone else's mistakes.

I have been dealing with this horrible company for about 2 weeks now trying to get a part for my BRAND NEW washing machine! The third-party repair place that I have to use for the repairs due to warranty coverage says it's so new that they can't get the parts for it and it will be another week before it can get here... So, I will continue to be incurring costs due to their substandard product and having to drag my laundry to the laundromat for yet another week because they can't get their stuff together enough to have the parts needed to fix an appliance that they are SELLING to people!?!? How can they sell a product and not have the ability to fix it? When I call to complain, I get exactly nowhere. They just keep repeating when the part will come in and they certainly don't care how inconvenient it is for their customer who bought their product... Nice.

Two words... STAY AWAY!!! We purchased a front loader Frigidaire Affinity washing machine about 5 years ago and it has to be the worst ever. From the very beginning it has been nothing but a disaster! The front door does not seal properly so it constantly leaks. We had a repairman come out and fix it twice and it continues to do the same thing. Next we had an issue with the tub filling up with water and not draining, so my husband decided to clean out the filter and look at the pump, now my husband is pretty handy and holy ** what a mess. It took hours and we literally had to take the whole machine apart!!! This has happened numerous times. This last time we thought it would be the same draining issue, so we took the whole machine apart again and it was not that. Apparently it's the locking device on door, which cost me $100 to fix. I will NEVER purchase another Frigidaire product again!!!

In 2001 my wife and I bought a Frigidaire Stackable Washer/Dryer Combination (FLLG63911QW). It served us well for almost 16 years. When it died we thought we would buy another one because we had been very happy with the one we had. So six months ago we did. Big mistake. First of all we didn't realize that some genius had determined that it didn't need an agitator and it would work better if you put everything in first and then the machine locked the top and made a decision as to how much water was needed. It puts in just enough water to almost get the clothes wet. In order to add additional water you have to change the cycle that you chose and then it will add additional water. However, this requires that you stay around the machine and wait for the water from one cycle to stop before you can switch it to the next cycle. Also without the agitator the clothes just kind of get sloshed around and they really don't get clean.
To make matters worse, it stopped working so we called Frigidaire because it stopped working. It took 3 days to get a repairman and when he did show up he was able to determine that it needed a part. Now here's the fun part. Rather than just being able to go pick up the part it has to be ordered and can take from 7 to 10 days. Then once the part arrives we have to wait until the repairman to come back to fix it. I asked him what had happened and he told me the water fill valve had gone bad. He also added that it was a very bad design which made it difficult to replace. I called Frigidaire and they basically said "Tough **". Whatever you do, if you are looking for a washer dryer combination make sure it has an agitator and make sure it is not a Frigidaire.

While my ATF8000FS2 washing machine has worked well for 6 years, now the drain pump or control board went bad, with an error code of E23. I checked on how to clean the drain pump and it's ridiculous. What moron thought it was acceptable to have the end user have to pry open the top and front face (and all the steps involved with that) and then remove a boot which is a nightmare to put back on, let alone all the other pieces involved? Really, you think people will tip over the machine and access the small porthole to do this? My next machine will be anything but a Frigidaire/Electrolux with easy serviceability.

I purchased a Frigidaire FAFW3001LW2 Front Loading washer in 2013. I have had it repaired once under warranty and 5 times under an extended service contract - all for the same issue. No warm water wash. Only cold. For a time, the Hot water setting worked, but never the warm. Now, not even the hot water setting works. The machine stinks to high heaven, even though I always dry the gasket and leave the door open. It is disgusting. The mfg will do nothing because it is out of warranty.
The retailer has offered to repair it one more time under the service contract, but I am unconvinced that it is reparable. The retailer also offered to sell me a new machine at their cost - but I am not inclined to purchase another Frigidaire. However, if I decide to purchase another front loader that is a different brand, I will have to pay for the pedestal as well (an additional $180). While I am grateful that the retailer is at least willing to do something, I have zero confidence in Frigidaire appliances.

Having purchased a 2016 stackable washer and dryer, I am extremely disappointed in its performance. I was informed it required minimal water which was an environmentally efficient feature, and that it required no agitator. I was dubious about the latter feature but was assured it did not affect the cleanliness of the laundry. My laundry is worse when it comes out than when it went in. The clothes never move from the bottom of the drum and in fact compact against each other when wet. There is a large amount of white scum on the clothes which requires me to re rinse and spin every load. In addition I take a lint brush to remove what remains behind. I would not recommend purchasing this unit and will look into returning mine.

My wife and I purchased a new townhouse with all new Frigidaire appliances, except the stove, we went with Samsung for a gas stove. Our problem is the front load washer, model FFFW5000QWO. I have had a technician in on 4 occasions with this product where they replaced all the circuit boards. It works for about two days and then all the settings start to fail. On normal the time changed to do a load from 47 minutes to 1:07 hours to wash it stopped allowing me to select water temp or spin speed and it stopped after about 7 minutes, not even running. Eventually, other settings like Bulky or Heavy did the same thing. Long cycles, no selection of options and shut down after 7 minutes.
Finally after the 4th failure Frigidaire agreed to replace the machine. Only thing is the replacement has the same problem and is starting to fail. So I call Frigidaire, whose parent in Canada is Electrolux, explain the situation and what do they want? A tech to come out and look at the problem. Same problem people. Geesh!!! I wanted a credit from them, and for them to take the machine and I will go back and buy a new machine. Surprise, the person in customer service can't do that, they need the technician to issue a report. Can I speak to a manager or supervisor? No that is not in their policy but wasting my time is? So I am trying to get the supplier to take it back and give me a credit. In my honest opinion and looking at the other appliances in our home, I would never recommend any Frigidaire appliances. I have had an authorized service person come and replace the controller. He assessed the unit and said that it was functioning as designed. I have even tried the "fix" of changing the cycle setting after the filling so that more water is put into the basket. However, that does not work. The problem is a poor design: the agitation is so weak (there is no agitator) that it won't even ensure that a single bed sheet gets completely wet. I have not gotten any satisfaction from the repair person. I all called the national Frigidaire service phone line and got an uninformed reply from the Frigidaire representative. So, what does one do in this case?

Horrible don't even consider it. Our clothing stinks, it gets stains on it IN the washer, the washer stinks. We have tried everything. Would wipe the rubber around the door. We have been having itching, breathing problems, constant congestion, chest issues... nothing works. Well... we decided to check the rubber ring further because nothing we tried would get the black off. We were HORRIFIED to see that the gasket is folded and much larger than we knew, and it has thick black mold all over it. We could not even scrape it off. Nothing, including bleach is affecting it. No wonder we have been sick and our clothes and washer stink. We've read reviews that Frigidaire claims they aren't aware of this which has to be a major lie.
DO NOT purchase this machine. The negative reviews are everywhere. We bought ours several years ago and have had these problems since the first few months. Major health issues which look to be directly related to this. It is disgusting for so much filth to actually be created within our washing machine. Horrible design, major major fail for Frigidaire. By the way, the machine shuts itself off so when you think it's time to switch loads you have unwashed clothing. Don't waste your money people!
Frigidaire's stance on it is "mold is not covered by warranty", "not on a recall", "there is nothing they can do about it". So they have a major design problem and they refuse to do anything about it! We've had health issues for several years and now we know why. Your clothes stink, they get discolored and you breathe mold causing health issues. You cannot possibly dry all these areas, every single place that the gasket touches the metal, plus inside all the folds of the gasket. Do NOT consider this product or you will regret it.

It should also be noted that the matching dryer arrived with the door switch missing and so was inoperable! The new Frigidaire water saving washing machines are complete garbage, when you throw a load of clothes and there is a piece of Kleenex paper in a pocket, the machine won't ever rip the paper up like every other machine does, so if it is so "gentle" as to not even to be able to rip up a piece of paper, how well does it clean your clothes? And often times the water does not even cover the top of the clothes! This particular machine does not have a water level adjustment for the wash cycle, and only has a water level adjustment for the rinse cycle, which would explain how the clothes actually get wet, but should get wet in the wash cycle.
And this piece of crap machine is always off balance, so if you stop the machine to balance the load out on the rinse cycle, then the rinse cycle starts all over again, meaning the machine fills up with water only to become unbalanced again..... NEVER, I MEAN NEVER NEVER NEVER buy a machine that uses a thimble full of water to wash your clothes. The only cycle that uses adequate water level is the rinse cycle, so I throw my clothes in on the rinse cycle, then when the machine is full I turn it over to another cycle.... piece of crap machine, I hate it! We purchased a Frigidaire washer/dryer set 2 1/2 years ago. The dryer literally started acting up the day after the 1 year warranty was up. We looked up the code and it was a heater issue. We purchased the heater part (which was over $100) from the local store where we got the set. My husband fixed it. The appliance store guy tried to tell us that it most likely happened because our hose was too long and should be moved or shortened... Which my husband did while he was at fixing the heater. Fast forward another 6 months: Same error code and dryer getting super hot before finally just not putting out any heat. Ordered part on Amazon for around $80. Husband fixes yet again. Fast forward to 2 days ago: Dryer giving statement on pad that the door is open, but door is not open. Seals are fine, everything with door is fine.
I noticed dryer getting very hot just prior to this. Thought maybe it was a switch... It wasn't a switch. Ended up it's the dumb heater, yet again. The open door announcement was actually the same code for the heater error. We ordered another $80 heater and it will arrive tomorrow. My husband is so tired of tearing into this dryer every 3-6 months and putting all of this money into it. It is ridiculous. Of course, we didn't purchase the extended warranty. This is a real lemon and I wouldn't give this dryer to my worst enemy. The washer has been fine, the dryer is an awful piece of junk with an apparent fault that needs to be corrected before it causes a fire. I am so disappointed as I bought a front loader as they were to be gentler on clothes, but it is the opposite. With stains and mold. I purchased a Frigidaire Affinity front loader because my 30 year old washing machine finally died. I thought I had done my homework when I picked the new washer, BUT... within the first year I noticed that the rinse water flowing into the laundry tub had fine dirt-like or ash-like sediment. It didn't seem to be in the clothes but it became fairly consistent. I had several different repair calls over the past 7 years or so and nobody could figure it out. They cleaned the screens and tried different things but nothing worked and I just resolved that we would live with the weird sediment. Unfortunately, this started while it was still under warranty but I was such a novice that I was sure it was my water or the hook-up that was the problem.
This week, after I finished a load, I noticed what looked like white plastic strips in with the clothes. I checked all the pockets and everything else to be sure I had not let something else in the washer. I then decided to check behind the rubber collar attached to the tub and found grainy stuff and plastic pieces. I also discovered that the tub no longer rotated freely.
With a sinking feeling, I checked the Consumer Affairs website and found similar complaints indicating that a repair would not help. I called a repair company and as soon as this technician saw the piece I had salvaged he confirmed my suspicion. He then pulled back the rubber and inspected the tub and explained that what was in the wash were pieces of the tub coming apart! He asked if I had heard any noises; initially I said no, but then I realized it was on a very rainy thundery evening and I had convinced myself that what I heard was either thunder or the sump pump! So now I need a new washer and I'm not hearing very much good about anything that is really bullet-proof. Bottom line? I will never buy another Frigidaire product and am kicking myself for not complaining to the manufacturer in the first place.

We wash half a load of laundry at a time and always use the slow spin cycle. We now have probably lost about $300-$400 in clothing thinking back. I called the company to see if there is anything they can say about it and they just said, "your machine is out of warranty, so there is nothing we can do".
The customer service guy I spoke to also recommended I purchase extended warranty in the future. That would have cost me more than the machine. I will not be paying for a service call on this machine as we have had other minor problems already that we have paid for and I have read that others have had this same problem with this machine and could not find the fix after spending hundreds of dollars on repairs. Our old washer & dryer were about 15 years old and would dry towels in about 40-50 minutes. Washer is so noisy it sounds like you are washing wooden shoes. I can't wash clothes when my husband is asleep (in the bedroom with door closed) because it wakes him up.
This is the second unit we've had. The first one would only dry on the normal and lower settings for about 5 minutes, then stop. The useless repair company they contract with sent out an older Italian gentleman who kept trying to say the vent wasn't working because it didn't vibrate!? He also said the unit was sensitive, "like a women", I wanted to kick him! The building contractor said that was not the case at all. The manager has been talking to Frigidaire for months to get them to replace. The unit to no avail. The company that built these apartments bought tons of appliances from them, so I can't even imagine how they'd treat a single customer. Also, the dishwasher is useless. Had one pan with a small amount of food left on it, used the recommended soap, it was filthy when the cycle was over. The fridge seems ok, but all it has to do is stay cold and make ice.

Our Affinity Washer was purchased on 11/2015. It was bought along with the matching Affinity dryer. We opted to stack them due to room constraints. They are very nice looking machines and we noticed the efficiency of the water and electricity usage. HOWEVER, the washing machine (remember not even 2 years later) is, as of today, JUNK. It has always acted funny. Dripping water during a wash, making a racket, not spinning all the water out.
However last week it reacted very badly to a blanket it had washed many times (basic cotton blanket we use for our dog). It left it sopping wet and during the spin cycle it jumped and rocked about one foot forward and was so crazy that it broke the latch to the door! So... I fixed the latch (a 15 dollar part) and proceeded to run another load. Well this time it left the clothes soaked again (intentionally about 8 pieces of clothes) and a horrible burnt plastic smell emanated from the machine. Called the repair guy - 85 dollars to tell me the bearing went out. It will cost 365.00 to get it fixed! Of course I called Frigidaire but of course so sorry nothing can be done. I will never purchase Frigidaire, ever. I wish I had my old top loader that I gave away to get this fancy piece of JUNK.

I bought my Frigidaire washer/dryer combo 30 years ago and with everyday use it has had absolutely no repairs. I just finished my 3rd load today and keep waiting for something to break down but it never does. Clothes come out clean and the dryer is fast and efficient. I will only buy Frigidaire in the future unless, of course, I'm in a nursing home.

This is the worst excuse for a washer I've ever seen. Somehow, the clothes end up dirtier when it finishes than when I started. Machines in a laundromat can be packed full and still do a good job. I'm 71 years old and have a bit of experience with washing machines. Hopefully, a would-be purchaser will read these accounts and buy something/anything other than Frigidaire. It seems no one is satisfied with their junk. I have the model WCISF.

We have owned two of these units. Yes, it is efficient and convenient to use. Cost was $1600 for washer/dryer in order for the stackable feature. After 8 years, one of the units bearings failed, the rubber ring in the front of the washer molded excessively, both units needed shock replacement and one had two of 3 drum vanes break.
1. Bearing not replaceable, entire drug at $260 plus labor.
2. Rubber Ring, $100 plus labor.
3. Each Drum Vane, $60 plus labor (2 bad, $120).
4. Shock Set $20 plus labor.
The units are great, but the parts and labor are unreasonable and due to poor quality parts (manufacturer to cut costs) these units become problematic. Bearing failure is due to bad shocks that wear prematurely and then cause the bearing to be overloaded. Rubber Ring mold is due to poor quality rubber that grows mold in the rubber. The Drum Vane is not properly molded and secured. The single screwing holding down the Drum Vane was missing on all three vanes. The hole for the screw is on the wrong side of the vane, so it does not provide extra strength when the drum spends most of its time spinning counterclockwise (design flaw). The molded tabs on the vane that holds it to the drum failed.
Close examination reveals the plastic had voids in the tab area, thus a weak tab that breaks off. Rather than pay 120 for two vanes, plus shipping and downtime. Picked up stainless screws ($2.50) and attached to vanes. I bought a better quality replacement shock made by Electrolux. If the unit last another 8 years, then I would have truly a green machine. Replacing after 8 years is not green, or cost effective.

The pair has worked okay for several years, but the washer sounds like a jet engine during the wash and spin cycle. I wanted a nice quiet washer, but this is NOT. I leave the door open between loads to try to get rid of the moldy smell. The dryer worked great until about 6 months ago. On occasion, it would not turn on for every cycle, only low heat. Now for any cycle except low heat it runs about 30 seconds and stops and you have to keep turning it on. So I am drying everything on low. Takes longer. I refuse to get it repaired. I will buy a different one as soon as this one totally dies.
I will NEVER BUY ANYTHING ELSE MADE BY FRIGIDAIRE!!! I had to leave town and rented a place with a brand new FRIGIDAIRE stackable unit. All the clothes came out filthy. It left the dirt in and I had brown streaks on all the white clothes so I had to wash them by hand and then toss in the dryer. That was brand new, I saw them unload it and install it. FRIGIDAIRE is horrible and I will never buy the brand again.

Owned dryer almost 5 years, light user for 2 people. Dryer broke down. Needed whole new control panel, per repair man "You should just buy a new dryer." "What!!!" I said, then the repairman said, "Yes, these models are terrible they will consistently break down and have a life span of about 6 years". Can you believe this when we $900.00 for it? Also I decided I would just order the part as the cost would be $225.00 parts and labor. So I called the appliance parts store, and after I gave the store clerk the information, he said, "Oh, that model, you might consider buying new dryer".
The repair guy and part store are not affiliated. He said "You can buy this electric part, ($140.00 plus tax), but if does not work we will NOT issue refund," said, "(standard, in the industry) electric parts are NOT guaranteed to work. You can buy warranty on the part but that would be $90.00 and you would have to pay the repairman again to install it!" The repairman and the parts clerk, both said "Frigidaire gas front loading dryers are terrible, don't buy them." So, it looks like I was ripped off and just bought a fancy piece of junk!! DO NOT BUY FRIGIDAIRE. THEY ARE A RIPOFF, NOT A QUALITY PRODUCT!!!

Do not like too many bells and whistles, feel they make appliance break down more often. If I had to have repairs all the time I would be disappointed. Paint chipping is not a problem usually on washers since they are made to withstand water, clorox. The price for the Frigidaire at $719.10 was a good buy. The appliance lasts for a long time.

Limited space dictated that we have a stacked pair -- front loading. I had owned Frigidaire appliances before and was happy with the company. After years of Laundromat, I am very happy with having machines in my home for the past 8 years. The only criticism is for my older hands, push button settings would be easier than the In-Out dial setting, especially for the washer. Definitely energy efficiency and being made by a reputable company were most important for me. We are only two in our household now, and capacity really wasn't a consideration. This combo happened to be discounted on sale at the time we purchased it. We saw it, and decided we could create a space for it to fit in.
I'm generally happy with reasonable service from the machine, but anything that disrupted that would be a deal breaker very quickly. I'm old enough to know it is our dog doing the socks in! For me the stackable was the only option. It doesn't look great, and the capacity is small compared to many other models, but this has proved to do anything it is asked to do. The washer can be "stuffed," and things still come out very clean. Best of all, it uses minimal water -- no more than 18 gallons per complete wash cycle. This was very important to us because we pay triple water rates, and at certain times of the year there is the potential of poor drainage.

We have an appliance repair company and customers seem to be happier with the Frigidaire Front load washer vs the Maytag and Whirlpool. We steer clear of the LG and Samsung machines. We purchased a front load because we have a septic system and they use less water, but I've come to the conclusion that top load washers seem to do a better job than the front loads in getting clothes clean. The pumps on the Frigidaire front load washers seem to get clogged easily. This is on both ours and also our customers. My washer before this one was a Maytag Neptune front load. Needed a bearing job and a control board when only 5 years old. My next machine will be a Speed Queen top load. They come with a standard 3 or 5 year parts and labor warranty. They rarely need repair.
American made is MOST important, along with dependability and reputation and warranty. Cost is also important. What type of warranty is standard tells me how good the manufacturer believes it is. Time is money. It's important to have a functioning appliance when you need it. No one wants to run out to a laundromat when they have sick children or guests visiting. We now recommend Speed Queen washers to all of our customers. They are made in Rippon Wisconsin and come with a standard 3 or 5 year parts and labor warranty and a 15 year warranty on the transmission. We have been recommending these washers for several years now and have not been back to service a single one. This is the reason that our next washer purchase will be a Speed Queen. We have nothing to gain by this recommendation. Actually, we lose as we cannot work on them as long as they are under warranty and they rarely require service.

We wanted an energy efficient model that reduced the time needed to dry clothes, so we went with a front-loader. Nice design, although nothing terribly special. By far the worst feature is the rubber door gasket that gets full of black mold and mildew, and which transfers to the clothes that are being washed. This is a core defect for this model, and perhaps for many high efficiency front-loading models. However, it is very good on water use, and it results in clothes with very little residual water. Energy and water efficiency, combined with some features. I think many of the features are nonsense, as we use the Normal cycle about 90% of the time.
Certainly no major appliance should be subject to regular repairs. Nor should it have a fundamental flaw like having a design that encourages mold to grow. Get a guarantee from the dealer or manufacturer that the mold issue won't affect your washing machine. This is a terrible flaw, and it requires periodic cleaning that should not be part of owning a washing machine.

The mold is sooo bad (despite me drying the liner and leaving the door open over night after every wash) my clothes and my entire laundry room smell like mold.
If the mold and the pausing weren't bad enough, the machine doesn't differentiate between bleach and regular detergent - so the bleach stays in the compartment for weeks until I drain it. We jury-rigged a hook to hold the lid open so that I would no longer have the stupid lid falling onto my head as I was doing laundry.
18 months into ownership the washer started to quit during wash cycles. There was no evident pattern and not just one wash cycle was affected. You never knew where the washer cycle was when it quit and frequently struggled to find a cycle that would actually complete a wash cycle. In addition, I never felt our clothing was getting as clean as I wanted it to be. Spot treatments that worked with my prior washers didn't work with this one. I bought a Frigidaire front loading stainless steel interior washing machine in 2008. From the very beginning my towels smelled after washing. I would put them through twice adding baking soda and white vinegar to the rinse to counteract the smell. I thought that this may have been caused by too little water being used to clean the towels. I always leave the door opened after the last use to cut down on mold. I thought getting a stainless steel tub would avoid rusting, but SURPRISE the door rusted instead.
My washer door began to flake and rust on the outside at the point where you can see the water trickle down against the window inside when filling. The repairman said it was cosmetic and nothing would be covered. I said that there must be a defect somewhere and he said no. In the last couple of months the washer began to leak underneath. I have now discovered that a hole has developed in the rubber gasket (where you can trace the original rust spot) surrounding the opening.
I purchased this washer because of the energy savings and the great rating it got from Consumer Reports. The top loader I had before it was causing holes in my clothes getting caught in the gap where the agitator fins meet the bottom of the tub. I thought a front loader would be the way to go because the interior fin design was the same in the top loaders I looked at. I feel cheated that I have a leaky, rusted machine and now face finding a suitable replacement that will not make holes in my clothes.
Having read many, many reviews citing gasket and rusting problems with Frigidaire/Kenmore front loading washing machines, I would like to know why nothing is being done to hold the company accountable. These complaints cover quite a few years' worth of models at considerable expense to an extensive number of people. It was still under warranty at that point so it was replaced at no cost. Great, so I thought! Fast forward to 2013 and guess what... the motherboard died again! Now we are outside the warranty so I am forced to pay for the repairs on what I am now feeling is a defective piece of machinery. I explained my frustration to Frigidaire but they did not care. They extended me 50% off of the part and acted like they had just done me a huge favor! Fast forward again to today!!! You guessed it... motherboard dead!!!! Very clearly this washer is defective! I called today and they again offered me the same fantastic deal of 50% off of the part. If I pay for this to be fixed again I will have put in almost the cost of the washer new, in repairs!!!
When I explained to the "supervisor" that this is a chronic problem and obviously the machine is defective, she began to treat me like I was crazy! I asked to speak to her boss and she told me that she would not transfer me to anyone else! I then asked what her boss' name was and called back, asked to speak with said boss only to be told that she was "at a meeting". This company is so disrespectful and treat their customers horribly. They sell defective merchandise and do not care! So much for companies standing behind their products anymore! Never buying anything from Frigidaire again and I suggest no one else does either!!!!

I purchased a Frigidaire washing machine from Best Buy in March 2014 after my previous one broke. I needed a front loader because I need to stack my washer and dryer due to limited space. The washer stopped working in February 2015. I had a service call set up but ended up canceling because it miraculously started working again. But then March 8, 2015, it stopped yet again. The door wouldn't unlock and after running it through 2 more cycles, my stuff was stuck inside the machine. I had to unplug it to get my sheets out, not knowing the washer didn't drain at all. So, as anyone would be, I was overjoyed when I got to spend an hour, at 11pm on a Sunday night, cleaning up the waterfall that came out of my machine. During the cycle, the tub stopped spinning and it wouldn't drain.
Called Frigidaire at 8:30am on Monday morning to set up a service call. They claimed there were no service providers in the area, despite being set up through one less than a month before. They told me that they would send a request to that same company and to expect a call within 24 hours. Come 3pm on Tuesday and I hadn't heard anything, so I called Frigidaire again. They claimed the repair company "denied" the claim because it was a "repeat request." She then said that she would send another one, and to call the company if I hadn't heard from them by Thursday. So now come Thursday and I call the repair company. They never received a repair request. I call Frigidaire AGAIN, and they now tell me that the "locate service" is closed and to call back on Friday morning.
I call Friday morning and after an hour on the phone, get set up with another repair service company. They contact me on Monday to set up an appointment for later that week. The guy comes and determines that parts of the machine are faulty and it cannot be repaired that day. They need to order parts and he assures me they will be ordered first thing Saturday morning. Now, here I sit, 4 weeks and 2 days since the machine broke, with no clue on when my machine will be fixed.
The repair company has ordered the parts and instructed me to call Frigidaire because the amount of money it's costing them to buy the parts and fix the machine, almost exceeds the cost of what I paid for the machine. There is no shipping date for the parts. 3 of the 4 parts are considered "oversize" and the repair company has yet to receive a single part. They said if and when we get a shipping date, it could still take up to 3 weeks for it to be delivered. So I have no idea when my machine will be fixed. It could be in 2 months for all I know.
I don't even want to use the machine anymore, seeing as it won't drain, and has now had water trapped in the drum for over 4 weeks. I won't even open the thing. So, I called Frigidaire, hoping they cared about their customers and they will do nothing. My machine is basically being rebuilt. I have 3 children. An infant who is just starting to eat "regular" food (MESSY) and 2 older children. One who is in the middle of potty training, has at least 1 accident a day while awake and 50% of the time wets at nap time, and the other who still wets the bed on most nights. Add to that a husband who comes home from work full of dirt, dust and grease on a daily basis.
Frigidaire refuses to replace the machine despite the cost of repairs almost exceeding the cost of the machine. They will not refund the money I paid to get a new one. I am so beyond frustrated and irritated with them. I will no longer be a supporter of this ridiculous company. Their customer service is a joke. This company and its products are a joke! I should've just taken $625 and flushed it down the toilet!

I purchased a Frigidaire washer model FAQG7001LW and dryer model FAFW3801LW in September of 2011 and in May of 2012, the dryer had to be serviced because it would not heat up. It was still under warranty and someone came out, fixed it and everything was fine. I purchased an extended warranty for 3 years through Frigidaire (Electrolux) that began August of 2012 after the manufacturing warranty was up. I had no problems for a good year until February of 2013 when the dryer broke again and it took over 3 months for the contracted company to fix it under the warranty, not to mention many missed days from work, days spent in laundry mats, and appointments the company contracted never showed up to. He fixed it to the point where it was usable until he could order the part.
He came back a week later and finished fixing it. However, after he left, the very next day the buttons didn't work and it only dried on one setting. I was just happy that it heated up and dried the clothes and after waiting 3 months, I did not even bother to call them back to fix that. It still works on one setting only 'til this day, 3/25/15. My washer then goes at the end of February. The contracted company through Frigidaire fails to show up or call on the first appointment made; lost a day of pay, and was forced to visit the laundry mat.
The second appointment was made and the repairman stated the motherboard was fried and had to order part would call to reschedule. Two weeks later and a few visits to the laundry mat, the part came in and an afternoon appointment was made. As 6:00 pm neared, no call was yet received so I called the office, of course it was closed, and left a not-so-nice message. Twenty minutes later, I received a call from the repairman that he has not called me yet because he was still doing another job in Edison, NJ, but he would get to me. I waited. 8:05 pm my doorbell rang and the gentlemen were finally here. 20 minutes later after soddering and doing whatever it is they needed to do, he tells me that it is still not working and the error code stated the water valve needs replacing. I would think you have these things in your truck, but who am I, definitely not a repairman or I wouldn't be in this predicament. I have to order part and we will contact you to make an appointment, that was 3/20/15.
We are now going into our 6th week and still no washer, and of course more visits to the laundry mat. Needless to say , I am definitely complaining about the Frigidaire extended warranty (Electrolux) because 2 different companies handled the repair of the 2 different machines. However, each took a very long time to fix the issue. According to the repairman the machine only gives you one error code at a time and the contract with the extended warranty is they do not replace the machine unless every possible attempt has been tried. You pay 400 for an extended warranty when honestly for the length that lasted you could have bought another machine for that price.
Sorry but I will never purchase anything Frigidaire again. I have not even had the machines for 4 years yet and they already need motherboard changing. I mean both machines had the motherboard replaced. Anyone who knows what a motherboard is, its like the brain of the machine. Now that is really bad that a product cannot last even three years. I am very disappointed and very angry with the warranty company as well. When I call to complain, they apologize and are very nice, but all they can do is offer me another contracted company to call, to come out to fix it. The extended warranty was a waste of my money, 400 flushed! Now I can only wait and pray they fix it. Once the warranty is up, I will just replace it if it happens again. That's if they fix it and not give me the run around.

Bought an Affinity Frigidaire washer and dryer from Aaron's rental center in Dec 2009, it was brand new. I started noticing tears in clothes, reported and we just assumed it was something I was doing, had a repairman here because the door lock broke, while he was here I had him to check to see why it was tearing clothing. He couldn't figure it out, so it continues, a few months ago it caught my clothing on fire, so I just keep watching it and being careful with it. Then last week it caught on fire again, and my seal ripped all to pieces and water went everywhere. Call the company, of course no help, my fault and so on, they tell me to call a licensed professional, problem only one around here that works on them and he's already been here.
So Tuesday I decided to figure it out on my own. When the clothes wash and spin, they fall between the seal and the tub where the holes in the rubber seal drain the water, that is why the holes and the gray rubber gets on the clothes as it spins the rubber, gets hot and starts to burn. There is nothing you can do to stop it. They have got to redesign the tub. A seal is like 200 dollars, if I replace the seal the problem is there. Needles to say the Company tells me they can't do anything because I'm the only one who has complained and there is no recall.
The dryer sometimes dries good, sometimes not, but it tangles my clothes together, especially my sheets and blankets, and wrinkles them up badly. No matter small or large load. I spent almost $4000 on both with the pedal stools. Thought it would last me the rest of my life (that's a joke). Oh yeah if you buy from a rental company, they do not honor the warranty straight from the mouth of the company, because they have no way of knowing where or what they have been through. That's what they told me. Going to see a lawyer.

Either an article of clothing gets caught in the rubber and metal liner and we have to put it back in, or (if anyone has even the smallest thing left in a pocket) it fills up with water and then will do nothing else, resulting in water all over my wood floor and carpet and going through another repair. I bought my first home (an older townhome) 5 years ago. I needed a space efficient yet full size washer/dryer that would sit on top of each other. I paid a pretty high penny for a Frigidaire front loader washer and dryer. As soon as the warranty expired the dryer's heating element went bad. Repair: $265. It's gone out twice more. Repairs: $265 a pop. The washing machine's lights will sometimes constantly blink & buzz EVEN IF IT'S UNPLUGGED!! Ugh!! Am constantly having to "reboot" the unit by unplugging it. Sometimes, the only way to get it to shut up is run a load of laundry then leave the soap tray & door open. Which leads me to my next point...
I will NEVER own a frontload washer again. Despite using the washer cleaner monthly at times the washer and my clothes smell...sour. When the cycle is done you open the door & water spills onto the floor. Have to empty the water that collects in the soap tray after EVERY load, and when all done, wipe out the rubber barrel because there is a lake of water collected. Otherwise, the sour smell would be worse + musty/mold smell. Do I call Frigidaire for help? Nope. I call a local handyman. At least this way I avoid the long hold times & ridiculous runaround answers because I need things fixed & working not defensive useless endless excuses.
Now let's talk about my 5 year old Frigidaire dishwasher. :) It leaked in the front from the get-go. They did "repair" it but once outside the year warranty it started to leak worse. At this point I called a plumber and pay them to troubleshoot and try to fix it. For quite a while I would throw a fit, tell them before running the dishwasher because the water was minimal and I was just sick of paying for it, and it couldn't seem to be fixed.
A year ago I called my handyman/contractor to pull the panel off and take a good look at it because it started leaking to the point where I can’t use it. What we found was it is actually a defect in the front panel in the way the bottom piece was made where the Styrofoam sealant strip goes. It is crooked and although hard to explain it's impossible to correctly fill it because it was simply made with that entire line at the bottom crooked and not straight. Therefore, I've been sitting on an unusable and dead dishwasher for the past 12 months. I have a Frigidaire dishwasher that is only 5 years old, looks brand new, and its totally unusable.
To take this further I had so much trust in Frigidaire when I purchased appliances for my new home, that I also have a refrigerator and a stove. Ack!! Back in the 90's, I had really good experiences with their appliance, which is why I purchased all Frigidaire for my new home. Unfortunately, they have clearly gone way downhill in the quality of merchandise since those days. I am a single female who takes care of all of her older townhome issues: car repairs you name it, et cetera, and have a very busy job. Like most people, I don't have hundreds and thousands of dollars to continue to repair appliances that are only 5 years old. Not to mention the hassle and the mess. I've constantly having to have plumbers and door repairman in my home dismantling these appliances, making a huge mess, and most importantly, having to miss work over it.
In conclusion, I have not written this review to be vindictive or mean. I have written it to bring it to the attention of Frigidaire and consumers that their products are currently seriously lacking in quality. And, when people are outfitting their entire kitchens with their products, they should stand up and take notice when complaint after complaint are written in and do the right thing and recall appliances. They're having the same issues over and over again. When I Google "Frigidaire front loader washer won't stop beeping" there are tons and tons of people riding in here having the same problems. Nobody has time for these types of corporate games and I will slowly start to replace my appliance with other brands. It leaves a really bad taste in my mouth because I scrimped and saved to be able to purchase my appliances for my first home with cash and they have turned out to be complete duds.
Did I mention the inconvenience of not having clean laundry while I await repairmen? I had washer & dryers’ years ago for FIFTEEN YEARS & never had one teensy issue. Kind of makes you realize how pathetic this is.... So, I do dishes by hand & hope the washer's control panel hangs in there a bit longer before blowing up or flooding my kitchen because it went all Beetlejuice some random day.
Actually when it quits, I'm having my handyman haul both units to a junkyard. Then, will rent a stackable washer/dryer for $40 per month from Appliance Warehouse. Stackable’s hold as much as these supposed "full size" units. And well, if I rent through Appliance Warehouse at least repairs are FREE. I'd pay way less in monthly rent fee & free repairs than all this nonsense even after two year's time. Am I right or am I right?? :) Frigidaire: Spending 1-6K on appliances is a TON of money to most people. I simply cannot condone purchasing this brand again because it's bad business (for my wallet!).

We contacted the installation contractor about the problem and learned that the washer doors are not opened during installation. The service contractors took our money under false pretenses. Upon inspection of the defective grommet, we can now see it was stamped incorrectly.
Frigidaire's service contractor (Florida Appliance Service Techs) is refusing to deal with us and told us to pursue reimbursement from Frigidaire. Frigidaire is not honoring its warranty because their recommended (and dishonest) service tech is reporting this as a repair. It is clearly not a repair. It is a manufacturer’s defect. When I opened the detergent compartment, I noticed that it was cracked. I called the store where I bought it and they said Frigidaire would have to take care of it. Frigidaire said it was cosmetic and they would not take care of it. The first time I washed a load of clothes in it, it leaked. I called to have them come out and look at it and he said I had used too much detergent. I told him I used the amount I was told to use. He told me to pour a gallon of white vinegar in the detergent compartment and run a wash cycle. I did that. After that, any time we wash clothes we have to use just a small amount, not more than a tablespoon of the HE detergent, not enough to do a good job on your clothes.
I had the serviceman out several times for the washer and dryer. They never fixed either one of them. Both the washer and dryer have been nothing but trouble from the beginning. The washer ruins our clothes. I bought this really nice top for work and the first time I washed it, it was torn to shreds. The washer never spins the water out of the clothes. I always have to run an extra spin cycle. The clothes always smell musty after washing them. I do clean the washer like I am supposed. The dryer takes about 3 to 4 hours to dry a load of clothes. The back of the dryer looks burnt or rusted. This happened not long after I started using it. Occasionally my clothes come out of the dryer feeling like they have been burnt to a crisp.
I would not recommend anyone buy an appliance from Frigidaire. If I could afford to buy a new washer and dryer, I would and it would not be a Frigidaire. Buyer beware on this company. I lost, misplaced my receipt and owner's manual because I was having to get them out so often to see how to troubleshoot my problems. I think my husband may have tossed them out with junk mail. I purchased a Gallery Series Washer/Dryer set in November 2010. The washer failed to work at the first use, so I contacted the dealer. The master control board was faulty and was replaced under warranty. Not quite three years later I experienced the same problem. The error code indicated either the master control board (again) or the motor control board. However, the former had to be replaced to determine the latter. In my opinion, this is a major engineering flaw. I contacted Frigidaire regarding this and was told I should have purchased an extended warranty, for about $100/year. After vehement disagreement over this and a conversation with a corporate vice-president, they agreed to replace the motor control board at no cost as a "one-time goodwill gesture". I was still responsible for the cost of the master control board and two service calls for a total exceeding $500. It should be noted that I generally wash four loads every two to three weeks - probably less than average for the typical consumer.
One year and one month later I have again experienced a similar problem, this time involving the master control board (yet again) or possibly the speed control board. The service call alone to determine this was $75 but again I would be responsible for all expenses for either or both parts and attendant service calls. After a lengthy conversation with Frigidaire, they agreed to 50% off of the parts but I would still be responsible for all labor. This still may, and probably would, exceed $300. Including the costs from three years ago, I would have effectively purchased a second washer in four years. I was also encouraged several times to purchase an extended warranty. When I suggested they pay for this, I was told they do not do that.
It is my belief that large appliances are considered "Durable Goods" in economic terms, (i.e. expected to last at least five years) and should be warrantied as such. In both conversations with Frigidaire, I let them know how I felt about their lack of real support for their products. When I told them how I use the machine, I was told that I use it "all the time". They offered to schedule a service appointment for me, which of course I had already done just to determine the problem. At the conclusion of the second call I was told I had 30 days to accept their offer.
I contacted the dealer to inquire whether they had any history of similar problems, but they were not aware of any. After reading numerous reviews on this site I see that my situation is not unique, and my experience with "customer service" not uncommon. At this point I am facing a dilemma about what to do, but dealing further with Frigidaire/Electrolux is highly unlikely unless they decide to meet me on my terms.

It should be a simple job since the screws insert from the front panel and no disassembly is required but Frigidaire has its policies as I was advised! Now I know one of the reasons why their ratings are so lousy!

I call Frigidaire customer service after I installed a washer dryer combo unit and found the dryer would not work. A week later a service repairman came and said he needed to order parts. Several weeks later I still had not heard back so I called again. Long story short I have spent hours on the phone and three months later my brand new dryer is still not fixed and they tell me a part is needed but will not be available to January which will have me 6 months without a working dryer. I want a replacement unit but they will not agree. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANY OF THEIR PRODUCTS.

I purchased this set nearly 1 year ago, but because it was to be installed in a newly constructed place (and into a bespoke laundry closet), it wasn't installed or used until Sept 2014. Once installed, I found there were 2 big problems: 1) the bellows (rubber gasket for door) was highly perfumed and leaving perfumed residue on my laundry, and 2) the dispenser drawer would not siphon liquids from the bleach and rinse side, staying filled with water at all times. After more than a month of service calls, phone calls, and waiting and repairs, my dealings with Frigidaire/Electrolux has ended in no satisfactory result in solving either of these problems - even after I purchased the extended warranty they suggested upon my call. They can't or won't do anything - it is not clear to me which. Has anyone else experienced either of these problems?

I have only had my washing machine for a year and a half and already it has broken down twice. The first time, it was a terrible and long drawn out service getting them to come and fix it, given that it was still under warranty. Forcing me to spend time and money going to the laundry mat. Now, they're saying it's out of warranty (by only a few months) and expect me to pay for an extended warranty for $150 so that the labor and parts will be "free". Last time I checked, $150 is not free. Their alternative, or "act of good will", as they so eloquently put it, was to provide the part for free; however, only one of their "authorized" dealers would be given the part. The labor costs $120 for a part that is only $25 on eBay. This company and their product is nothing short of disgraceful. They provide no real support for when their product breaks down and expect customers to pay the extortionate fees associated with maintaining it. This should be a crime. It seems to me they make their products unrealizable on purpose so that they can rip you off more money on the extended coverage it obviously needs. Washing machines should last longer than 18 months. Utterly disgraceful.

We had our Frigidaire Dryer Affinity model number FASE7073LWD, about three years when it started to act up. What I mean is it would dry and when it reached the cool down period instead of just cooling down it would shut off and ring a bell three times every five minutes. It would give an error message of E64 and just shut off. But then some of the clothes would still be damp. The Frigidaire customer service told me after looking on her computer that the problem was the heating element was not working. But if the heating element was not working why did it still dry the clothes? Those customer service people are real whizzbangs. The only thing they would say is "your warranty is expired and you didn't take a extended warranty out", like they are rubbing it in our faces.
They should apologize for selling a product that doesn't last for more that several years without needing repairs. The woman also said to me, "Well you can't expect it to last forever, and at least you got three good years of use out of it." LOL. If the electronics were made better they would last. An example is the U.S. Military, and NASA. But why make something last when you can put inferior components in it so it will not last and has to be replaced. I won't buy Electrolux or Frigidaire anymore EVER...... It all comes down to getting our appliances from MEXICO.

My Husband and I bought a Frigidaire Affinity Front Load washer from Aarons Sales and Lease in Pendleton Oregon on a rent to own scheduled payment contract. Aaron’s contract with Frigidaire gave a 2 year warranty on the product. Just two weeks before the 2 year mark the washer stopped draining/spinning and began giving an E21 error. We made contact with Aaron’s immediately. They asked us to call Frigidaire's contracted service techs for repair according to the two year warranty. When we called the said techs, we were told that they had a "beef "with Aaron’s and refused to service our washer due to their disagreement.
At this point we made contact with Frigidaire directly and asked them to instruct their contracted service tech to perform his/her duty according to Frigidaire's contract with them. We were refused and were directed to re-contact Aaron’s because Frigidaire claimed the repairs were not their problem as "there was only a one year warranty on our unit according to their records." We then made contact with Aaron’s with this information and they checked it against their paperwork on our purchase. Their paperwork clearly showed a two year warranty on our unit. They then contacted Frigidaire and attempted to hash it out with them and got nowhere.
After gaining no resolution with Frigidaire, Aaron’s came to our home (which is some distance from their closest store) on three different occasions attempting to determine the cause of our washers failure. For three months there was an on-going struggle with all parties and companies during which neither we nor Aaron’s could gain resolution from Frigidaire or their associates. Aaron’s continued to go above and beyond (at their own expense and no cost to us) in attempt to fix the washer. They even transported it to their own repair shop to try to find and repair the problem.
They brought it back to us today after it appeared to function properly. I began a load of wash and it made it through half the wash cycle and again failed to drain or spin and gave the error 21!! Frigidaire has made no attempt to be helpful in any way or to honor their contract/warranty. It would appear that we are now the proud owners of a non-functioning $2000 washer with no compensation or resolution in sight. They and their contracted help have been rude and negligent at best. I would caution anyone NOT TO BUY ANY FRIGIDAIRE products!!! Their products are inferior jerry-built crap. Their warranty is defunct, and their staff/contractors lack in customer service etiquette! BOYCOTT THIS COMPANY and avoid their product at all cost or you will indeed suffer at a huge cost!! Mega Kudos go out to Aaron’s Sales and Lease in Pendleton Oregon for all they went out of their way to do trying to make this right for us when the fault wasn't even theirs!

After a few years of use, we finally replaced our front load washer and dryer for a traditional top load washer with an enameled steel basket and full length agitator. We got tired of long cycle times, partially clean clothes, expensive detergents, unnecessary buttons, options, and cleaning requirements. You will get your exercise when you transfer items to the dryer. Small items will drop to the floor every time. In 35 years it was our biggest regret in appliance purchases. The first loads in our new traditional laundry pair was simpler, faster, and the items were clean. I wish we were warned before we fell into the trap of false advertising and untested, unnecessary, options and functions. Consumers should be aware that using less water and no agitator means less cleaning. This technology is playing on a deception that it is similar to commercial washers. It's not even close.

They were no help other than to let help me buy the hinges. I had already found them on the web. No other help. Poor design, poor customer support and I feel a no care product. We purchased the Gallery series front loader washer and dryer 6 years ago. While they are aesthetically pleasing to the eye, the products suck. Fortunately, the warranty covered the 2 subsequent washer replacements. Yes, we had to replace the whole machine twice - so we are now on machine #3. Have been having issues with the dryer for the last two years. We have had to make emergency calls to our utility company out to the house twice because we smelled gas in the house and thought it was a leak in the main leading to the house but it turned out to be the dryer. The gauge doesn't closes apparently. It seems the internal mechanism becomes stuck open causing the gas to leak out. We have already had it replaced but we have had other issues with it as well.
Yesterday, the gauge did not close and the flame stayed on, for the second time. We had the repair guy out for the first occurrence and these are subsequent to the calls to the utility company. The flame left a scorch mark on the drum (from underneath) after the dryer had completed its cycle. Fortunately for my family and pets, the washer and dryer are on the first floor, where odors (gas and smoke) can be easily detected if there is a problem. This time there was a smell of heavy smoke and the top of the dryer was scalding hot. I don't have $2,000 to replace the machines... I would have to get a matching pair as the laundry area is off the kitchen and visible to traffic.
Why can't they make reliable and safe products? Why do I have to worry that my children are either going to succumb to carbon monoxide poisoning or smoke at the hands of a company who, seemingly, based on all these complaints from consumers about Frigidaire, don't seem to care about people's lives. It's disgusting. I will never purchase another product vaguely affiliated with Frigidaire ever again. I'd rather wash my clothes on a washboard in a stream and dry them on a clothesline before I would ever purchase another one of their products, even if they were the only option available..

When I noticed the crack, I asked the company about it and they said it wasn't covered under the warranty because it was considered cosmetic. It has gotten much worse over time. I had the repairman work on the washer and dryer twice. The washer leaked. The washer also leaves my clothes soaking wet so it takes forever to get them dry. Washer makes clothes smell horrible. I keep the washer door open all the time and I use the washer cleaner once a month. I wipe down the rubber gasket but it still gets mold on it.
To get clothes dry, I have to set the timed cycle for 90 minutes 2 to 3 times. The cycle that is supposed to sense when clothes are dry has never worked. Has caused my electric bill to go up a lot more. The inside of my dryer in the back is either scorched or rusted. I guess it is because the clothes are so wet when I put them in the dryer. I also thought the front loading washers were more energy and water efficient so that was a big selling point has with the price. That being said I should have went and spent a few extra hundred and gotten a higher end washer. Problem starts when the washer won't spin and rain which now I know is it clear indicator that the drain pump is obstructed and burned out. Other problems with the washer and I've had the repairman here so many times I think the neighbors thought I was having an affair with him. The washer is now out of warranty and the last time that I had a repairman out give me a call to 300 dollars to repair it. Looking for me I'm savvy with eBay and YouTube.
I was able to fix it myself as a lot of cuss words and 67. I've replaced a drink myself now twice and in a repairman has replaced it approximately 5 times. Clearly there's a design flaw in the washer, should have been recalled. That being said in reading the complaints my dryer which is a match for the Frigidaire front loading washer also has a habit of eating spaghetti straps on dresses, tank tops, blouses with thin straps. We bought the washer and dryer in about 2009 and I was hell bent on getting a front load...mainly because I thought they looked cool, but the reviews were all good at the time, mostly raving about the the extra space and how much more efficient they are. As every owner of a washer knows, you can't close the washer after until your washer dries out or it will start to STINK. Think about that for a moment with a front load. Yes, your door hangs open and swing outward, so it looks terrible. Not like the top load where you just keep it open and you barely notice. It's so annoying and since I do laundry often, my washer door is almost ALWAYS open.
Next complaint, the Salesman said if you can stuff it in, you can wash it. Even a King comforter!! What he didn't say, it'll wash it alright, but it won't rinse it!! I had soap stains all over this comforter and ended up taking it to the dry cleaners anyways. So, all these extra large loads I thought I could do? Nope. Next up, I noticed the washer starting eating anything with a drawstring or spaghetti strap. I have lost many a tank top and comfy pants to this problem as the washer twists and twists them until the material is stretched or ripped. Oh, I am not even close to being done.
Most recently, the washer refused to spin and of course it had a full load in it and was full of water when it stopped. I put it on spin only cycle a few times (it would spin slow only) which was enough to drain the water out. Do you know why this happened? Because the door assembly that latched the door shut, had broken. In any case, appliance guy comes, replaces the door assembly, problem solved. Oh, not so fast. A month later it breaks again. 2 months later, it breaks again. And for the 4th time last night.
At this point we have asked the appliance guy to order 3 assemblies because it's only a matter of time before it breaks again....and we are sick of paying an appliance guy to come and fix the same thing over and over and over. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BUY A NEW WASHER BECAUSE MY DOOR ASSEMBLY IS FAILING. When I looked up this problem online, there were scads and scads of complaints about broken door assemblies. It seems I have just found the epic fail to front load washers.

I do not have the harsh odor that I once had but in the beginning I ruined so many clothes from holes and the odor that stayed on the clothes.

Have "cleaned" the machine with Clorox and - last recommendation - Tang. Doesn't matter. Cannot use any bleach for colors because of suds. I tried using bleach for colors - HE - what a mess of suds that don't rinse out. Use only one tablespoon of detergent and still it does not rinse properly. The service people have been here numerous times - look at it and just say "you are using too much soap". What? One tablespoon full, are you kidding me?
Also your water supply is soft water - not good for front loaders. Ok, so I have city water, everyone has here - not overly soft. No one said to test your water supply before buying this machine!!!!!! Soap residue in my clothes is not acceptable. As far as the dryer is concerned, does not dry thoroughly, although I have not had burning smells, etc. as some others, and it is not a gentle machine for the fabrics we use today. Hate these machines with a passion. One more tech is coming and if he doesn't do something, I will have to take a $2,000+ loss and ship these machines out to the scrap metal recycle. Ridiculous. Frigidaire Gallery Series Washer/Dryer GLGH1642FS - Problems, expensive cost!!! Bearings Broken, needs new belt, possibly transmission. Been reading A LOT online about issues with Frigidaire Front Loading Washers having this issue. Unit was purchased in 2006 or 2007. Cost of repair is just about $600. I heard of drums breaking causing a hole in the Washer thus resulting in flooding? WTH? I have another pair of washing machine and dryers MayTag brand which are five or six years older which have had NO problems.

Frigidaire Affinity Washer and Dryer - Both of these items are awful! I would not purchase. The washer molds very easily. You need to clean it with bleach very regularly. And the dryer has destroyed tons of clothes- certain fabrics melt onto the heating plate in the back. There is no way to get off the melted fabrics. Then when you dry other loads, it melts off onto other garments with waffle like melted stains. Sometimes you can pick off the melted pieces, but many items are unsalvageable. It is a major defect for a dryer!

Affinity Washer - 4 months ago, we purchased a matching washer and dryer and a stacking kit so the dryer could be stacked above the washer. From day one, the detergent dispenser drawer would not drain water from it after the cycle completed. After several service calls and at least 3 replacement parts for this drawer, the problem continued. After several calls to Frigidaire Customer Service and more replacement parts, they agreed to replace the washer. Yesterday the replacement washer was installed and it has the same problem. The water will not drain from the detergent dispenser drawer.
The company representative has told me that there is no repair kit available for this problem. In order to use the washer, we have to remove the drawer assembly after each use and dump the water or it runs out on the floor. The service technician from the retail store where we purchased the washer believes there is a design flaw in the dispenser drawer. We have a hard time believing that a company can't figure out and fix the problem. Leaking water was the reason we replaced our old washer. We feel it is time for the company to resolve this issue.

Piece of garbage, both the washer and the dryer. I have had these since 9/2009. The dryer got so hot that it fried the junction box to the plug. Also, the washing machine sucks debris into the pump area, causing the machine not to drain. I have attached a picture of all the crap that was beside the pump. Of course I should check my pockets before loading the washer, but the size of these items should NEVER go beyond the tub. Major costs to "fix," but the "fix" doesn't work!! Recall these machines!

I purchased an Affinity dryer 22 months ago and last week, it stopped working. It displays door open while the door is closed. I checked the door switch, it is good. Checked error codes which gave an E66 error for the thermal limiter. Checked the limiter, it is good so it must be the control board. I replaced the control board at a cost of $146, that did not fix the problem, and that cannot be returned. Found another control board inside the machine and at a cost of $150 replaced it, did not fix the problem. Now it says the door is open and it is empty while the door is closed and full of clothes. I had a repair man recommended by Frigidaire come and look at it and he couldn't figure it out and while he was at my home, he called to talk to a Frigidaire tech but it was not during their hours. Now I have $365 into it and it still doesn't work. I will be calling the repair man again to see if he can get in touch with Frigidaire techs to find a solution. Update to come soon.

Frigidaire Washer and Dryer bought about five years ago, $2,000 with the bottom storage, $150.00 each. I hate both machines. My clothes always smell musty. Also the dryer has ruined and damaged a lot of our clothing that get hung on lint trap. Holes in my clothes. These machines are terrible. I just want a regular washing machine and dryer.

I have lost hundreds of dollars with our clothing using the Affinity dryer. It has ripped and torn tank tops, t-shirts, both of my daughters' clothing as well as my wife's. I was going to file a lawsuit in civil court but after reading all of the complaints, I think a class action lawsuit should be filed. Frigidaire needs to step up and be held accountable for the damages their dryer has caused to our clothing items and everyone else's who has used this dryer. My family has lost over $400 in clothing. I contacted Frigidaire and instead of offering to help me, they told me I needed to purchase a part to keep that from happening. They obviously knew about the problem and were aware of the damages this dryer caused. Why didn't they do a recall or let customers know about this problem?

I have owned my Frigidaire Affinity washer now for 5 months in which we have replaced the following: front panel when it was only 1 month old, belt, and 2 motors. I think it is wrong that a company will not just give me a new washer for what as much as I paid for this one - but instead they want to keep fixing it. It's a shame to buy a "new" washer and have it being repaired over and over again. My 16 year old washer was only repaired 1 time the whole time I owned it. How I miss it. If any of you are thinking about buying this washer - run for the hills!

Frigidaire Red Affinity Washer - We have owned this washer for a little under 3 years and in the last 2 months, we notice small snags on our clothing and now full blown rips, that leave a gray smudge film almost like it's burning the fabric. I called the customer support and of course, nothing is covered under warranty and they said to purchase another large gray gasket because it seems to be old. Are you kidding me? Well, I asked for compensation for the clothing that has been ripped since this seems to be a problem they were aware of for years and never issued a recall or anything on it. They said no. Of course, it was the customer service rep, so I'm filing a claim with BBB and small claims court. I have a basket full of kids' uniforms and other clothing that the machine is destroying. I'm planning to purchase another one, but it's crazy to have such a thing already.

I really dislike this washer. The pull out compartment for the soap, bleach, etc...is always filled with water. From day one, we have left the washer door open to air dry it, but it hasn't worked. We started noticing black mildew on the rubber seals around the door, so then we started drying the seals after every load. The mildew continued to grow. We have run hot cycles with bleach and tried cleaning the mildew with vinegar, and nothing works. I'm so disappointed that I feel like I've been ripped off. Oh! And the door to the washer started sagging, so it needs to be lifted in order to latch. Then today I noticed that the door is actually cracking apart from the stress of sagging. I hate this machine.

After use, water always collects in the front rubber seal. Even after drying it out after each wash, there is always a foul odor that comes from it along with the mold that seems to come along with it. Leaving the door slightly opened doesn't even seem to help other that the odor finds its way through the rest of the house. This would be the last front loading especially from Frigidaire that I would probably purchase. The customer service representative suggested placing a fan in front of it to help dry it out. What a joke, I only look like this!!!!! There is a large amount of water that stays in the pump, the lines and in the outer tank. You would think that a company of this size would better design these units.
