Had the unit since Dec. 2015. Magnetron broke. Two weeks to fix and two days off work. March 2016 (3 months old), the convection fan stopped working. Another day off work and parts ordered on April 7th. After 5 weeks, I was just informed that the parts won't be in until June 7th. 3 months!! They will not replace the unit because they said it is repairable. If it's repairable, it's not covered to replace it. Customer Service hung up on me when I asked for a supervisor. Never, never again will I buy a Frigidaire. I have to say though, I am glad I purchased it at Lowe's. I called the store manager and they are replacing it free. Always buy from a big store that cares.

I purchased a countertop microwave oven and 7 months later sparks flew out of it. I called the Frigidaire company because the oven had a 1 year warranty and I was told that they have a buy back option. I had to jump thru hoops to get this option which takes many weeks and still I am inconvenienced of being without a microwave. Usually I do my homework before making any purchase but I did not this time and I am paying for it. I had to send a certified letter and the serial number from the back of the microwave at $7 and then I received a letter saying I needed to send another serial number tag from the microwave oven. I will never purchase any Frigidaire product ever and I will not recommend a Frigidaire product to anyone.

In September 2013, we bought a Frigidaire Professional Microwave. In December, it started making a grinding sound. It ends up that the entire unit had to be replaced. When the unit finally showed up, several weeks later, it started grinding again. They told us that it was the magnetron. They came out again, replaced the magnetron, and by then it was February of 2014.

Fast forward two years- grinding started again during the Super Bowl. We called Frigidaire, assuming that a recall HAD to have been issued since this is now the third time in 2 years that we have had the same problem with the microwave. They told us that there was no recall and we'd have to buy an extended warranty for $300 and change. We declined and had a local repair person come to fix it. Our point- the microwave has broken 3 times in 2 years!! We had an LG for 10 years with no issues. I'm sorry that we didn't do further research, otherwise we would not have bought this product.

The handle on the over range microwave is hollow metal. While cooking on the stove the handle heated to scalding temp and I burned my hand grabbing the microwave handle to open the door. Frigidaire sent their company to inspect. They measured.. the distances between the two units.. the largest kettle the smallest and the one being used at the time. They tested the auto fan also. EVERY measurement was correct.. and all the vent did was make the handle even hotter drawing more heat towards it. The handle was as it was.. scalding hot.

The microwave is installed. The letter from the company says it will pay for all costs to repair the unit. The company said they can't do the repairs needed. I can take it back to the store for an exchange for YET THE SAME MODEL AND METAL HANDLE... A lesser watt non coated stainless model worth less. Or I can take it out of the wall and take it back to get a refund... but that is up to Lowes. HELLO?? Nothing is being considered about the danger.. or the work... or the lost time and money.

In Dec 2013, I purchased a Frigidaire Gallery over the Range Microwave (Model# FGMV205KF) had it for approximately 14 months when it started making loud noises and sparking. Since the unit was out of warranty and I had not purchased an extended warranty I called several local repair companies, all of them told me it would be cheaper to replace the unit than to try to have unit serviced. In April 2015 I purchased a new microwave (same model# FGMV205KF) from HOME DEPOT and by Sept 2015 it was making the same noise and sparking as well. This model is still under the original 1 year warranty and I did purchase an extended warranty as well.

I have spent HUGE AMOUNTS OF TIME ON THE PHONE WITH FRIGIDAIRE DIRECTLY (since unit is still under warranty) only to have NOTHING RESOLVED AS OF YET (1-7-2016). Since I live in a remote area (30 minutes outside of Denver, Co.) there was not an authorized service provider (they say) to be found, so Frigidaire contracted with another repair contractor to come out, we're now up to Dec 4th 2015. The repair contractor working with a service representative directly at Frigidaire removed and dismantled the microwave to find the issue. Pictures were taken and submitted to Frigidaire (3 different times because their system would not/could not work properly to receive the pictures).

I have had to call Frigidaire every week and/or every couple of days to find out what is happening as they have not called me once with an update. On Tues Jan 5th 2016 I called to get update and was told that they needed a picture of the serial# of the unit because the pictures they have could be from any microwave unit. I immediately emailed them pics of the serial# (sent pics 2 times to same person requesting that she let me know if she had received and needed anything else, NEVER HEARD BACK FROM ANYONE).

Today, Jan 7th 2016 I called and was told that they had to have the service provider (the one they hired) send the pics of the serial# as the pics I sent could have been from any microwave (the pics I sent had the same serial# as the unit they have on file being under warranty and the same serial# I requested service on and the same serial# that the service provider used when calling in for technical information when speaking with the FRIGIDAIRE SERVICE DEPT TECHNICAL SUPPORT TEAM.

When I questioned why they (Frigidaire) had not informed the service provider (the one they hired) at the beginning of all the information that needed to be documented and supplied directly and quickly to Frigidaire in the beginning to make this a smooth and quick process, her response to me was "All of our authorized service providers know what information is needed and we shouldn't need to tell them". I once again explained to her that this service provider was not an AUTHORIZED PROVIDER but was one that they (Frigidaire) had contracted with to provide service and therefore he would not know all of the information that was required.

I requested to speak with a manager and when the representative came back on the line, she gave me an update from a supervisor that said "ALL THEY COULD DO WAS WAIT TILL THEY WERE ABLE TO GET A HOLD OF THE SERVICE PROVIDER and then submit that information to the service team for review". I was never able to speak directly with a manager! This is the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced.

I will never purchase from frigidaire again (and I have a whole kitchen of their appliances and they haven't been the gems frigidaire claims them to be either, have had to have all of them serviced several times as well) and I will never recommend their appliances. WORST PRODUCTS EVER AND WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! Consumers need to start demanding quality not only in the products but in customer service as well or quit purchasing from these companies (all of the brands are the same) so that these companies start feeling severe financial hardships and/or go out of business. I can pull the receipt out and submit later if you will contact me via mail.

We purchased our Frigidaire microwave a little over three years ago. Within two years the door handle started cracking and shortly thereafter it came off from the door. We called Frigidaire for a replacement. They would not admit to any defective parts on this microwave model, however they did send a new door to our appliance dealer. We paid $144 to install the new door. It took the repairman 30 minutes to install the new door, so my guess is the cost of the microwave door was included in that bill. Thinking this problem might happen again, I purchased their warranty. Two weeks ago the our door developed a crack and when I spoke to Frigidaire they said the break was, "cosmetic and we only cover functional parts of the microwave." Poor quality product, poor customer service.

I have owned several microwaves mostly opting for the models that go over the stove with a vent fan. The only problem is when you move you have to leave it and then replace it at next stop. For many years the GE was the only model that offered this feature so we owned several of them. We purchased the Frigidaire microwave as it matched our stove (handle) and could go over the stove. It has served the purpose but I would neither recommend it or not recommend it. Features are useless and difficult to figure out. The outside seems hard to clean and always looks smeared. Other than that it is ok and better any counter model.

Our microwave was brand new when we bought our house in May of 2014. The seller chose all Frigidaire appliances, but opted for the low to mid-level models which was fine with me because they all came with the house. The ONLY thing I don't like about my microwave is that when the timer goes off, you cannot stop the beeping no matter what you try to do. It just beeps and beeps and beeps until it eventually stops on its own. No one likes a microwave beep they can't control. If I'm trying to reheat a slice of pizza late at night, and I don't stop the microwave before time's up, I might wake someone up! However, the microwave looks nice (it's stainless steel and black) and works like a charm and we've had no problems with it at all, so I have no problem recommending it to a friend.

This microwave for above our stove, looked nice and matched our stove. It functioned well (purchased at Sears) until the spring broke that holds the door shut. Sears came out to fix. He said it really needs a new now, because the plastic broke when the spring attached. It was going to take a long time to get the part. I contacted the manufacturer and explained what a defect that this was, and that I would need a new door. A representative called me and said, yes they would replace and for me to email the details along with my bill. Well I did all that and kept emailing and calling them, at least ten times, and finally gave up because they were so rude as they would not even reply. Would never buy their product again, and in fact I did not. I have a nice Panasonic microwave now.

109 years after Frigidaire introduced the first electric refrigerator, it still can't hire competent engineers to design lasting parts. That is why the company, ever obsessed with cost cutting, designed a cheap, small, inadequate plastic connector to hold the spring--which holds the door lever--which clamps the microwave door closed. When the little fella breaks off, and why wouldn't it, you have to replace the entire door. Cost of door? $152. Incompetent designers and managers.

By March 2014, the "control panel"on the microwave also failed. After multiple failed attempts at repair, both the oven/range and microwave were replaced in April 2014, thanks to the "extended service protection agreement" I'd purchased from P.C. Richards. Once the appliances were replaced, I decided to purchase the extended warranty directly from Frigidaire/Electrolux… What a mistake!

First of all they cashed my check but never issued an extended service agreement! After I provided proof of my payment for the extended warranty, I was billed for additional payments to activate the extended warranty because Frigidaire stated my initial payment was not received within 30 days of the date the replacement appliances were received. After only 10 weeks of use, our $300 microwave caught a potato wrapped in a paper towel on FIRE. It even melted off the Serial # Sticker on the inside of the microwave. Almost two months later and they still haven't replaced or repaired it. First it was because it didn't have a serial number sticker in it! Since then it's been one excuse or delay after another. I replaced it with a $180 GE microwave that I should have bought in the first place. The dishwasher broke right away (washer blade melted). They replaced it promptly. Now the drier element is burned out. It's been 3 weeks since repairman was here. No progress on that now.

As a potential customer you are told one thing. As the owner of a product you are told something else. On 11-13-2014, I called 706-860-4110 inquiring as to what I could expect as a future customer. I asked them, if a component failure resulted in damage to the product a "meltdown", is the product replaced, or only the part that malfunctioned that caused the damage? After being put on hold for a short time, I was told that if the product was under warranty, the product would be replaced... "Ok, let me make sure I understand. Not just the part that failed will be replaced, the entire product will be replaced." "Yes Sir, the entire product will be replaced within one year."

The reason I asked that question is because my mother's microwave malfunctioned and caused a fire. The fire was contained in the microwave and was able to be extinguished before any damage was done to the cabinets, or worse, the house. Long story short... Frigidaire will replace the damaged components, but the pungent/repulsive and perhaps dangerous odor, caused by the malfunction will remain. Again... When wanting my money, the purchased item will be replaced. After they have the money, not so much.

Nov. 2013 - Acquired a new motorhome that included a Frigidaire over-the-range convection microwave oven Model CFMV152CLB, S/N KG31108885, built in March 2013. August 2014 - Microwave started itself a couple of times. We were present and able to shut it down. The next evening the unit was completely dead; no lights and key pad not responding. September 2014 - Frigidaire arranges to have repairs made by local authorized service company. They had to bring a second tech to remove the oven from the wall. (I had to pay for the tech.) They replaced a door switch, checked that the oven heated and reinstalled on the wall.

Two days later I tried to set the clock. Instead of setting the clock the microwave started and I could not get it stopped. Quickly put a large plastic glass of water in to keep from damaging the magnetron. Oven stopped by itself in a couple of minutes.

Next day I went to remove the glass from the oven. The door was very warm. Turntable was too hot to touch. All of the water in the glass had boiled away & the glass was distorted from the heat. No one was even in the motorhome and the microwave had been running. Fortunately is shut down before things got hot enough to start a fire. Techs from authorized service company come and remove the oven. Take it to their shop for detailed examination.

October 2014: Learn from an RV trade journal that an RV manufacturer has filed a recall notice with NHTSA due to microwave problems. Research the subject and find that at least 8 RV companies have filed identical recall notices for a group of Frigidaire microwaves defined as: Models: CFMV152CLB & CFMV154CLS, Serial numbers: KG30607951 through KG31600670, Manufacture dates: January 27, 2013 through April 10, 2013. Reason for recalls: microwave is fire hazard. It "self-starts". Cause attributed to a defective membrane key pad.

Discussed with the manufacturer of my motorhome & they are unaware of the problem, but are going to Frigidaire and their Frigidaire distributor. Communicate with Frigidaire Customer Service and they state that Frigidaire issued no recall. They claim that the RV manufacturers did the recalls on their own. I disagree. Only the microwave manufacturer could determine the specific units (by serial number & manufacture date) that contained the defective key pads. The words from Frigidaire have been strictly CYA. Even when I get my microwave returned, I will probably junk it and not put it back into my motorhome..

Don't buy this fire hazard!! This microwave was new to my home when I moved in. After 18 months, it would not shut off unless the door was opened: That is, whenever the door was closed, the microwave would run spontaneously and continuously until the door was opened! Thank goodness we were home when this first happened (and started running by itself!), or it might have started a fire. Because it was out of warranty, Frigidaire customer service was a joke: They told me that I would have to pay someone $150 just to come out to verify the problem (which my handyman told me was probably a door switch - so the entire door would need replacing); and then I would have to pay for all additional parts and labor after that. Forget it: I ditched the dangerous piece of garbage and bought a Samsung. P.S. I had a similar experience with the Frigidaire gas range: The glass oven door spontaneously shattered while it sat idle one evening. Again, because it was out of warranty, customer service was completely unconcerned with the safety hazard. Run far away from Frigidaire.

My husband and I saved to buy a Frigidaire microwave to have when our baby was born in January. The microwave was quite working almost immediately. The timer would come on and count down but no microwave power. After a long time on the phone, a customer service rep at Frigidaire told my husband to unplug the microwave and plug it back in which did absolutely nothing. We took it down (it mounted over the stove, my husband made the brace for it) and took it to one of their approved repairmen in Weatherford, TX. He said it was irreparable and in really bad shape and he would contact Frigidaire for a replacement. They told him no. He brought it back and dumped it on our porch.

We had no microwave for a month. That was our way of sterilizing our bottles and breastfeeding equipment, and I burned some expensive items trying to boil them. It took a couple hours on the phone of being told Frigidaire would not replace the microwave. My husband had to ask for a manager, got cut off, went through the whole thing again. They verified that the repairman had been told they would not replace it.

Finally, Frigidaire agreed to replace it with a new one which they stated would fit the brace my husband had labored to put up over the oven. It did not fit. We have a new baby and he struggled for a couple of hours to make a new brace to put the microwave up. The cheaply small microwave we had prior for 6 years before it stopped working was better than the one we saved and saved for.

In addition, the first microwave had three long loud beeps which would repeat every two minutes until I opened the door or pushed stop. The newer replacement repeats every 10 seconds. I have to stand there with the baby and wait for the sterilization to complete to open the door, or it will beep loudly indefinitely until I do, and in our small home it wakes the baby.

I hate the microwave and I will never ever buy another Frigidaire product because of their horrible customer service. We were out of a microwave 7 weeks altogether with a 3 month old son. Their customer service reps acted like they couldn't care less and didn't mind wasting our time. The first microwave should have been replaced immediately and they should have delivered and installed it for us. My job gives me an extremely wide swath of the public ear and I am making sure no one makes the same mistake we did.

After only 14 months of properly using our over-the-range Frigidaire microwave, model #FFMV164LS, we heard what sounded like glass shattering upon closing the oven door. The control panel immediately ceased responding and the light and fan ran continually with no way to turn them off short of unplugging the unit entirely. The motherboard and lower plastic door latch had completely broken. Upon calling Frigidaire, the customer service representative informed me that all I could do was call a service person, who would charge $60 to $100 just to show up to tell me how badly a repair would damage my bank account.

Considering that 14 months is a pathetically short amount of time and a company as well-known as Frigidaire should stand by an excellent product, one would expect a reasonable number of years of use. Of course, as most of us consumers know, appliances generally malfunction within moments following the one-year service contract termination. We actually got an extra two months! To whoever reads this description of infuriating circumstances, (and all of those accompanying, if you scroll down!), I recommend, if you are adamant about purchasing a Frigidaire, purchasing at least a five year protection plan as well. Needless to say, we are angry and incredibly disappointed with Frigidaire and we would never purchase anything made by this company ever again.

We purchased our brand-new house 4 years ago which was complete with a kitchen full of Frigidaire appliances (except the refrigerator which we brought in and is a Kenmore). So far, we have had to replace the electric ceramic cooktop, because it was either too hot or wouldn't heat up. The first 2 months we lived here we had to have 3 service calls on our electric wall oven.

Now, my microwave is arching for no reason. After internet research, I will probably have it to be replaced. I feel compelled to mention that the dishwasher works fine most of the time, but it is horribly loud and cleans marginally. Also, the delay start works when it feels like it. Frigidaire delivers terrible customer service. I will never buy Frigidaire again. They are horrible products that offer awful customer service. I mistakenly thought appliances should last longer than 4 years.

I bought a Frigidaire Professional microwave/venthood in January 2010. It wasn't installed until March or April. Within less than two years, it stopped working due to a broken magnetron, which costs around $350 including labor to repair. Frigidaire regrets my inconvenience but refuses to pay for it.

On July 10, 2011, my wife and I purchased a Frigidaire microwave oven range and installation service for a price totaling $510.52. The door of the microwave has loud scraping sound when opening and closing. Plus, in the inside, one light is missing.

We've tried to get the item exchanged, but on the days that they were supposed to deliver, we received calls that the microwave they have in the warehouse is broken. After 2 weeks of waiting with the same result, we returned to the store for a refund. We were told by the manager that we could not get a refund because the damaged microwave is still in our possession. Since then, three dates had been set to uninstall the item, to no avail. They are blaming the Geek Squad for not taking it down because they were the ones who installed it initially. This day, August 21, 2011, the broken microwave is still in our home and Best Buy has our money and no one knows for sure when this microwave will be taken away.

I purchased a new Frigidaire kitchen set including the over the range built in professional series microwave with trim kit. The authorized dealer installed it. It worked for 60 days, maybe 50 cooking cycles. Now, only the clock works. The factory told me to contact the dealer while the dealer deleted the brand. Now, I know why. It is called factory service center. Nobody is certified to service the microwave units in Houston while I called several others. One said that this breakdown was typical while others said it was cheaper to just replace it and suggest a GE unit from Walmart. It seems that Frigidaire professional products are craps made in China with zero warranty or service available. It looks nice, but does not function and without factory support. I wish Toyota makes microwaves.

I thought they had quality products. I specifically purchased this combo "professional grade" combo oven/microwave appliance unit for the name and reliability. All I got was a two-year lemon. This was an extremely expensive product and now it's a pile of junk taking up space in my kitchen! I spent hundreds of additional dollars to have it professionally installed into my cabinets. I spoke to their various repair shops, all said it would cost me additional funds for removing this unit from the wall, and it was assumed the magnetron was the issue and other possible parts, this could result in nearly a $700.00 repair bill which Frigidaire should at a minimum assume some responsibility for this expense!

One technician (Mr. Appliance, 813-657-3499) claims that as of 2006, Frigidaire had a two-year manufacturer’s warranty, and changing it to a one year speaks to the lack of quality and the lack of standing behind their products. I'm quite sure I will not hear back from their company and that they really couldn’t care less about my complaint, so I will forward this issue to BBB as well and other blogs about their products! And of course the complaint form did not work and it timed out. How convenient for them!

I now have a $3,000 pile of junk in my kitchen and will have to go buy a new microwave, much cheaper than fixing this one! These companies need to be held accountable for more a stinking one-year warranty, and trying to screw us for extended warranties!

Useless over the Range Microwave from Frigidaire. We purchased a very expensive brand new home two years ago that had an over the range Frigidaire microwave in the kitchen. The over the range Frigidaire microwave is totally defective and useless. I contacted a Frigidaire service representative by phone in an attempt to get some assistance regarding this defective product, and she sounded like a foreigner from India who could not even pronounce a word of English, must less complete an entire sentence in English.

Needless to say, we received absolutely no satisfaction! We would not recommend anyone purchase any Frigidaire product. We conducted our own research and have found numerous persons have purchased the Frigidaire over the range microwave unit, and all the complaints we discovered indicate a totally defective product. Consequences: Total Dissatisfaction with Frigidaire products and non-English speaking service representative. Economic damage: Obviously we are out over $500.00 dollars. Never again will we purchase any product manufactured and marketed by Frigidaire, and we will make it known the products they put out are defective!

I purchased a new over the range microwave in Feb '09 and I noticed right away now loose the door handle. I now have a cracked front door around the handle and the handle has come loose. What cheap plastic. How can a product not withstand daily use? I called Sears about a new door panel and handle but they want almost as much as a new microwave cost. I say Frigidaire has a poor design and cheap plastic.

I purchased an over the range microwave. Bracket was missing from the box, I called customer service to get one sent because we bought the last of this model at Lowe's. The rep tried to tell me that it does not come with the microwave and I could purchase it from her. I told her the instructions that said it came with it and how else could I install the product with no wall bracket? Still, she tried to get me to buy it. Finally, she said out of the goodness of her heart, Frigidaire would send me a free one. I waited 2 weeks and called back. It was on backorder and they would send it in one month. I called back in a month. Long story short, we waited over 3 months to get the bracket!

Then 2 months after we started using it, the very cheap plastic squirrel cage near the motor broke. You can't fix this. You have to replace the whole motor. To replace, that part would cost $167.00. We complained but the warranty was now out, even though we hadn't been able to use the microwave for months. They finally agreed to pay for the part but not the labor. So we would pay labor for only $90 for a 3-minute job, but they would not allow us to install it ourselves. We had to have someone do it. Finally, we agreed but we got no return calls from the repair. So we have a product that we cannot use and we are sick of arguing with them and wasting our time.

Our kitchen is full of Frigidaire products. Luckily, we bought the extended service plans at Lowe's. We have had no problem with Lowe's and their plans, and we have had many repairs! Luckily, we did not have to deal with Frigidaire. All our products are registered. They saw that we were loyal customers and they chose not to take care of us or help in anyway. I now tell everyone not to purchase their products! The customer service reps were very nasty. When you ask for a supervisor, they say they have none. When I insisted, they put me on hold for over an hour and never answer! That must be how they take care of customers they don't want to deal with. This happened more than once!

Then after 4 months, there was a crack developing on the door of the microwave, which was completely unusual for a 6 month old microwave. The company is trying to shrug it away by saying it’s a cosmetic issue, in which the company has nothing to do with it.

I purchased a Frigidaire microwave about three years ago. The turntable coupler that connects the turntable to the motor broke, disabling the turntable. The broken coupler is made of plastic and would not cost 10 cents to manufacture. The lowest price for this cheap part was $34.00. Only an idiot would pay that for a plastic part that was too flimsy to begin with. We'll never buy Frigidaire/Electrolux again.

It is installed 2.5" higher than the minimum recommended height over an electric stove. The handle has broken 6 times, beginning 1 month after purchase. Electrolux will not replace the unit with another model or a better handle, even after their technician (ID#0012642) initiated such a request Mar, 7,2007, the day he installed a second replacement handle that was the same part number as the broken one replaced 12/11/2006. This is clearly a lemon. A poor design that Electrolux refuses to acknowledge.
