I purchased an Electrolux washer and a dryer from a local appliance store - Appliance World in Huntington, November 24, 2012. The washer and dryer were delivered on December 10, 2012 and were both not working. The washer was leaking water all over the floor, and the dryer was making a really loud banging sound. I have contacted Appliance World and they informed me that they have a no return policy, and that I have to work directly with Electrolux.

I have contracted Electrolux and they have sent a service man to my house 3 different times to fix the problems. My washer currently seems to be working. However, the dryer is still not working - making the same loud noise. I have had to take 3 days off from work for these service calls, and Electrolux is now saying I have to have a 4th service call and that my warranty does not include replacement of the machine.

We purchased both an Electrolux gas-oven/range and a refrigerator a few years back at a high-end appliance store for our new remodeled $150,000 kitchen. With the assumption that Electrolux has been in the business of developing and building appliances for many other well-known companies, was why we decided to go with their new line. Unfortunately, their appliance line is far from quality, and just cheap junk that starts having serious problems within six months of use. First off, our Model: EW30DS65GS Gas Oven/Range’s circuit board started having issues right off the bat. Now mind you, I have owned a few LED alarm clocks that have lasted me over fifteen years without any problems.

Within one year, the LED display on our Electrolux Gas Oven/Range went dead, and we were told it would cost us $350.00 to replace it because it was out of warranty. Our Electrolux refrigerator is just as pathetic, and we have had it serviced out more than five times within the first year, just so our food didn’t go bad! Their customer service is a joke, and they could care less about their customers. It’s fairly obvious that Electrolux appliances are just a cheap line of poorly built Chinese junk for the ignorant mass-market. Don’t waste your money or time!

We purchased an Electrolux dishwasher 3 1/2 years ago. Last year, I spent $275 on it for repair of the top rack which wasn't cleaning and needed two new parts. Yesterday, I was told it is leaking and that the leak kit and service will cost me over $300. What a piece of crap. Please learn from my experience and don't waste your money on an Electrolux.

I called Electrolux (866-449-4200) for the repair of the oven I bought a year and a half ago. It took over a month for them to send over a repair company, and the repair company they sent over was Dependable Appliance Service, 718-966-6500. The service was not dependable at all. They scheduled an appointment with a no show. After researching the company, it scores an F on BBB. I called Electrolux Customer Service back, and I got the runaround. I even emailed the Head of Major Appliances, North America and Keith McLoughlin (President and CEO), and I got no responses. Now it has been over a month and my issue is not resolved, and tomorrow is Thanksgiving, and I have no oven to make my Thanksgiving dinner.

Five years ago I remodeled my kitchen. I was talked into the top of the line Electrolux icon line and paid the price for it! Now I am again paying the price for it. Where shall I start? Hmm let's go with the overpriced refrigerator that has now almost completely fallen apart. Every shelf made with plastic fittings has now broke. Shelves are now barely holding one, drawers don't roll and stick and again, plastic parts broken and cannot be repaired. Overpriced built-in convection/microwave. Now not working as I don't want to put an additional $500.00 to repair the thing. I'd rather put the money towards something worth having. Oh, and this is the second time it's been repaired. Built-in convection oven electrical panel has been replaced once. I'm not holding my breath. Now this morning, two of the electrical units on my flat top built-in stove have an error indicator on them. Who knows what is wrong now! All I can say is seriously, 4/4 items being in disrepair in less than five years. Well, you do the math. Do not buy any Electrolux product.

We purchased an Electrolux refrigerator in 2008. Thirteen months later, the ice maker broke and could not be repaired. We were told that the warranty was over and that they would pay 1/2 toward a new refrigerator. Since we weren't about to shell out $1,500.00, we complained to the Electrolux rep and he ended up getting us a new refrigerator. However, we have had seven service calls on that appliance in two years! First of all, the doors weren't aligned, then there was a leak in the back of the unit because it was never sealed at the factory. A new ice maker was installed, then all ice compartment gaskets and housing were replaced, the freezer gasket was replaced, etc. Because of all of the problems, the company did give us a one year extended warranty.

The microwave broke first. The main board went out, so it would not work at all; then the refrigerator. It has several issues. First, ice falls from the ice maker all over the freezer with no way to stop it. Then, the plastic piece that you push to get ice or water fell off. That repair was about $250 with two service calls. The worst appliance from Electrolux is the dishwasher. It cost over $1000 and has cost another $700 in repairs so far. It now has two more issues. The first issue was the plug. It just burnt out for some strange reason. Then water began to pour from the bottom. The repairman could find nothing wrong. Then, it would not dissolve soap. The bottom, no matter how little detergent was used, would be covered about 2 inches in suds. Then, the water began to leak on the floor again. So, it needs more repair work. Electrolux appliances are trash!

In the first few months during which I purchased a brand new dishwasher, it began spilling out water, flooding my entire kitchen. I have had "repair people" service it 4 times already and still the problem persists. I called Electrolux and complained this issue is causing damage to my house. It is very inconvenient to keep changing my schedule to wait for the repair person and we have no confidence at all in putting the unit on as we fear it will flood the house. They told me that the only thing that they could do is to keep sending the repair person, as per the terms of the contract. So I am stuck with a clearly defective, faulty appliance that Electrolux continues to deny to be broken. I have scheduled a 5th visit, but judging by historical performance, I am not holding my breath.

    Reviewed Sept. 17, 2012

We are very dissatisfied with our Electrolux Refrigerator as well as the customer service that Electrolux has provided to us. We first purchased Model # EI23BC55IS for the price of $3,199.95 on July 3, 2009 from Barrys Appliance in Bridgewater, NJ. Our salesman, Jason, talked us into buying this appliance by telling us that it was state of the art and would fit nicely into our newly remodeled kitchen since it was cabinet-depth. He told us how the icemaker in the door of French door type refrigerators worked well in this model.

The appliance never worked as the book stated. It leaked water and delivered slushy melted ice. After several service calls, one of which was to replace the motherboard, Electrolux furnished us with a replacement refrigerator on 9/21/09. We had one service to this new appliance on another matter, but truthfully, it never produced ice the way the Use and Care Guide said it should. The guide states that it produces approximately nine pounds of ice every 24 hours, but we constantly ran out of ice with normal usage. We are a family of four so this never made sense to us. The bin never filled up within 24 hours with nobody using ice during that time. It also shoots ice away from glasses that are directly under and my family constantly complains about this as well.

On July 7, 2012, we called Electrolux when the unit stopped producing ice altogether. We were, at first, told that since the appliance was no longer under warranty that Electrolux would not pay to service the appliance. We asked for a supervisor to review this decision since we were not satisfied and believe that this particular model is defective as the icemaker doesn’t work as the Use and Care Guide suggests it should. We were granted what we were told was a concession (Ref # **) and were informed that a service company would be contacting us.

On July 12, we contacted Electrolux as nobody had contacted us to set up the service call. At this time, we spoke with Chiffon, who put the call on hold to set up a service call. A woman named Susan from Dan Mark Appliance set up a service for us. On July 14, Dan Mark technician Carlos came out. We were told by Carlos that a new icemaker was needed and that this would take 3 to 5 business days. After more than two weeks, Dan Mark finally sent another technician out on July 30. This Dan Mark technician told us that he was replacing the motherboard, not the icemaker, and that this should solve the problem.

On August 1, we contacted Dan Mark to tell them that we had no ice. They promised to send another technician on August 6. On August 2, we received an automated call from Dan Mark that a technician would be out on August 3 between 8:00-11:00 AM, and although this was unexpected, one of us stayed home from work that morning in hopes that this matter would finally be taken care of and we would have ice for the rest of the summer. When the technician came out though, he told us that he needs to replace the icemaker motor and housing and upgrade the motherboard as well. We didn’t hear from anyone again until August 8 when Dan Mark called to set up a service call for August 11.

On August 11, a Dan Mark technician came and replaced the icemaker motor but did not upgrade the motherboard as promised. He told us that there should be ice by evening. We placed yet another call to Dan Mark on 8/13 when the icemaker began dripping water and would only produce crushed ice. On August 15, with no confirmation call, one of us unexpectedly had to come home from work when a Dan Mark technician came to our home and telephoned that he was at our address. This technician told us that a new ice bin was needed and that he would order this and it would take a week.

By August 15, with several lost hours at work so that we could be home for numerous service calls and no ice for much of the summer, we decided to contact Electrolux directly. We spoke with Tiana, giving her all the dates of service calls. She told us that she entered that information into the system. She could not offer us any other help at that time. We did not hear from Dan Mark again, and on August 27, we contacted Electrolux and spoke with Sade, who contacted Dan Mark and was told that they had ordered and received the ice bin and had tried to contact us several times and couldn’t, so they returned this part to Electrolux. We told Sade that we received no calls from Dan Mark during the time period of August 15-August 27 and requested that a different company service this appliance. Sade told us that new concession would be needed (**) and set up with Angela at Metro Factory to service this unit.

Ironically, on August 28, Dan Mark contacted us to install the ice bin, but we told them that we had contacted Electrolux and were using another service company going forward. On August 29, Metro Factory technician Carl came out and was able to hook up the appliance to his computer (this was the first time a technician had done this) and told us the unit needed an upgraded motherboard. He noted that the limited ice in the bin was “melty” and stuck together. We told him that the unit was only producing crushed ice, and he mentioned that upgrading the board would take care of this problem. While he was there, he was asked if he serviced many of this particular Electrolux refrigerator model and he said, “Oh yes,” and always the icemaker. We were not surprised.

On August 30, Metro Factory called to tell us that the technician could not come out until September 10, and we made an afternoon appointment for that date. When we didn’t receive a confirmation call the night before this service, as had been the practice of both Dan Mark and Metro Factory, we contacted Metro Factory on September 10 and were told that, indeed, they were not coming out since they had received no parts and that this was the manufacturer’s fault. We were even asked if we received any parts, which surprised us since we weren’t expecting parts to be delivered to us.

On September 11, we contacted Electrolux once again and spoke with Charlene. Again, everything was explained from the beginning, and after being put on hold for 6 minutes, we were told that Metro Factory was not picking up and that she would call back once she contacted them. In the afternoon that day, Charlene called to tell us that Metro Factory did order parts and that we should expect to hear from them on September 14. She could not explain why the parts were taking so long or why Metro Factory asked us if we received them. We did not hear from Metro Factory on September 14. In fact, as of today, we have not heard from Metro Factory.

We are writing this complaint in hopes that Electrolux will see that we are entitled to compensation and satisfaction that has been denied to us since purchasing the original refrigerator. We are requesting that our original purchase price of $3,199.95 be returned to us and that the appliance be picked up when we are able to replace it with another appliance of our choice. Be assured, it will not be an Electrolux appliance. We plan to never purchase an Electrolux product again. We have read other complaints and agree that there must be some engineering problem with these particular types of unit. Electrolux needs to recognize this defective model is hurting customer satisfaction for many families.

Electrolux washer ruined clothes - I purchased a new washer along with the dryer and pedestals in March 2012. Washer started putting bleach stains on clothes. After ruining several pieces of clothing, I called for service. The first service call was very prompt. Because bleach was involved, the tech replaced three parts, all dealing with the dispensing of the bleach. This repair didn't work. I spoke with the service company, and they indicated that there was nothing else they could do and that this problem has happened before. So after bleaching several more pieces of clothing, I called Electrolux again. They said that they needed to send someone out again, so I told them what the repair company had said.

They needed verification that the machine was not repairable. It took quite some time for this to happen. I had stopped using bleach in the machine, but somehow, it was still bleaching clothes. I would call, and nobody would get back to me. Finally, after about a month and 15 pieces of ruined clothing at a cost in excess of $800, they authorized replacement of the washer. After making sure the new washer was working properly, I attempted to get reimbursement for the damaged clothing. They had me send pictures of all the damaged articles. Again, after many calls not being returned, I finally started calling every 15 or 20 minutes and leaving a message until they got tired of having to listen to all the voice mails. They only offered $150 for all the damaged clothing. Oh yeah, I have also had to have 2 service calls on the dryer. The door wasn't closing properly.

The microwave was repaired once before and now it doesn't work. The only thing that hasn't been repaired is the dishwasher and because I moved the location, and needed to change plumbing, I didn't install that until almost a year after purchase. I purchased the appliances from Colders Appliance in Delafield, WI. All I can say about Electrolux is: Junk, junk, junk.

The company rep says I should have purchased the extended warranty, but what the heck, I had my previous GE appliances almost 10 years before I had any problems, and the refrigerator and microwave lasted 18 years with no problems. I didn't think a 3-year extended warranty (really only 2 years considering the first year was already covered), was worth the cost. I paid a premium price for this product only to find out it is Frigidaire brand with an Electrolux nameplate. Same junk, only costs more. I purchased brand new Electrolux appliances for my kitchen exactly two years ago. Since that time I have had the double oven fixed once, the refrigerator fixed four times and then finally replaced, and most recently the microwave has gone out. It’s only been two years (almost to the day) and I have spent countless hours working with Electrolux and repair people on the phone and at home (missing work on several occasions). I now have to pay a trip charge to have the microwave looked at and will have to pay labor to fix it. In two years, these very expensive appliances should not have had such awful quality problems. We considered Frigidaire or GE (which, by the way, our friends went with and have had no problems at all), but went with Electrolux due to the perceived quality and excellent warranty - which in both cases are absolutely false.

It’s been nothing but disappointment and frustration. Electrolux has not stood behind their appliances and they make it very difficult to get support. We have had the runaround on every occasion and a lack of accountability, or more importantly a lack of responsibility, to the consumer to ensure the appliances are repaired and taken care of in as painless of a process as possible. On one occasion the repair person went so far as to tell me that Electrolux quality is not what it used to be and how they are getting more and more calls regarding these appliances, so they too were a bit concerned that quality is no longer a priority at Electrolux. Lessons learned and the same mistake will not be made ever again. If Electrolux stepped up and took responsibility and accountability, it would go a long way; however, even the employees I have spoken to seem a bit disillusioned.

Electrolux: cheap product/expensive price tag - Electrolux ICON 36" Slide-in Electric Cooktop LED lights burn out, even with replacement, two replacements I have had. The first and second were serviced 5 times and replaced with the same issue.

I bought the Electrolux ICON 36" Slide-in Electric Cooktop on 03/13/2009 at Sears. Fortunately, I also purchased the 5 year warranty along with it at that time. The LED lights burned out and stopped working and we had it serviced 4 times within a period of a year. Recently (September 2011), we finally were eligible (after so many service part changes) to have it replaced. Now, even with the replacement unit I now have, the same issue has occurred. We called Sears and we are again eligible for a replacement. However, since we have had two brand new units that are defective in the same way, we are extremely concerned. I have emailed back and forth with Ms. ** in Customer Care at Electrolux asking for my money-back. She gave me the number to two service shops that work with Electrolux and promised that we wouldn't be charged. However, when I called them, they said that they must charge since our warranty is with Sears. I explained that via email on Thursday, November 11th, 2011 and that I prefer a phone conversation from a manager at Electrolux and she said that I would get one by Monday the 14th. That never happened.

I had called and spoken to a customer support representative at Electrolux in 2010 when this was first happening with our first unit and he was quite short with me and very unhelpful. He went so far as to claim that these issues never occur with the LED lights. Meanwhile, I have read review after reviews that it is common for LED lights to go out on these appliances and that the quality of workmanship is simply not present any longer with Electrolux.

This is 3 years later now, two replacement units (on the third one) where LED lights keep going out. Now, when the repair guy came, yet again, to service this unit, this supposedly new unit had a fuse go out in the wire harness (new different problem), where we cannot even have the cooktop on at all. Currently, we are without a cooktop and had to fight with Sears in order to get a replacement. I am at my wit's end and considering buying another Sears cooktop. The worst part is, we had our kitchen remodeled and the cutout is specific for this unit! How very unfair. Never buy Electrolux. Please avoid it if you can. GE or WOLF are the way to go.

$2,700 down the drain not to mention at least 10 visits that cost us days we had to take off of work. Model number: E36EC75HSS1, serial: F03338763.

We have had our French door/freezer on the bottom refrigerator since January 2011. We started having issues with the ice maker. It stopped producing ice. We called the repair man. He came out, replaced a board and said that they were having issues with this particular fridge. Then, it still was not working. So he came out a third time and it still was not producing ice. He replaced valves. Now, we are noticing cracks developing in the ceiling near the back over the light. The plastic appears to be melting and opening up! I am worried it might cause a fire! I purchased a brand new Zanussi, European brand from Electrolux, washing machine in May 2011. It was not shipped through to Brazil. When we arrived and tried to use it for first time in November 2011, the machine would not even start. I contacted Electrolux in London and got referred to Brazilian side. I contacted Brazilian side and got referred to local service company. I contacted the service company, who immediately responded by sending a repairman the next day. The repairmen could not resolve the problem and promised to contact us back shortly once he obtains the diagrams for this particular type. I never heard back from him.

I called again in January and got a new repairman. This one confirmed that two parts are faulty and must be obtained by them. I never heard back from him again. I contacted again in February, in March and in April. Nothing is being done. In fact, each time we call, the registration number they gave us the last time is incorrect, so we are told.

So not only does Electrolux honor its warranty obligations, they do not deliver on promises. They also try to lie and cancel out warranty policies by providing incorrect record numbers. I bet that when we call end of April, when our warranty nearly runs out, they will not be able to assist as our warranty has run out. What a disgrace of a company!

We remodeled the kitchen two years ago. Since that time, we have had expensive service calls on our Electrolux wall oven, slide-in range/oven, and washer and dryer. Now, the microwave is on the blink (I have to lightly touch the start button to get it to go). And this evening, it's the clothes dryer which is stuck in the pause mode and won't move! We bought seven Electrolux appliances, thinking we had the best on the market. We are now totally convinced of our stupidity! This brand is junk! We have spent hundreds of dollars in repairs and are totally disgusted with this brand.

I purchased four Electrolux appliances in July of 2011. The appliances were delivered in July, but they were not in use until September or October. The appliances are infrequently used and no children live in the household. Since I started using the appliances, I have already had three service calls. First, back in November for the microwave; then in January for all four appliances. The third service call was on March 16 for the same appliances for the same problems, except for the microwave oven. This is rather shocking to me since I was under the impression that Electrolux appliances were supposedly better and higher performing kitchen appliances than many of the other brands. I previously owned a KitchenAid dishwasher and a low-end Kenmore range and refrigerator. Over a 10-15 year period, I had approximately two service calls for the range and refrigerator and dishwasher. All service calls were after the appliances were at least 5 years old. These appliances were exposed to high usage since there were children and more people living my home.

On March 18, I noticed after baking a potato that condensation formed inside of the door of the microwave. Also, as I was cleaning the microwave, the outside stainless steel top panel over the door of the microwave is loose. It moves from side to side. I now have a fourth service call in to address this. It’s hard to believe that I am having so much trouble with all four of my Electrolux appliances that I purchased. I am very disappointed and unhappy that I spent extra money for such lousy performing appliances. The service calls are very time consuming and quite annoying. I have to take off considerable time from work to accommodate the service calls, not to mention how frustrating it is to deal with malfunctioning key appliances. I can only hope that my case is an exception and I hope that I have not been sold four lemons. Attached is a summary of my service calls.

Microwave: Stopped working for several days. Service person could not find anything wrong, perhaps it’s an electrical surge issue. There’s a loose panel outside the top over the door. It will be addressed on next service call. I can’t remove stains on inside of stainless—no solution. Condensation buildup in door: this is not addressed yet. You have to press too hard on menu button.

Range: Rubber gaskets on metal grates keep coming off. I was told that they sometimes melt. The gaskets are there, I believe, to keep the metal from rubbing against other metal. It was not fully addressed. It scratches easily—no solution. The gasket around menu panel came a part. Gasket was replaced.

Refrigerator: Ice maker is not working and there is a knocking sound, condensation buildup, and the ice maker continues to make ice when full. Problem solved on first service call. The same problem reoccurred. Problem will be addressed on next service call. There is also loose screw found in refrigerator. That will be addressed on next service call.

Dishwasher: It doesn’t clean dishes. What do I need it for? Solution: add dish detergent, add Rinse Aid, add Glass Magic and prime water leading to dishwasher. Most dishes are lightly soiled and they still don’t come clean, particularly the silver utensils. The stains are washed in rather than washed out. Top rack bottom joint keeps coming out of place. Problem addressed once by replacing the top rack. I’m not sure what will be done to address this problem again. I will discuss with the service rep when he comes on Monday, March 26. It takes a long time to get started. I sometimes have to press buttons several times to start the wash cycle—problem was not fully addressed.

The product is the french door refrigerator. The ice maker does not work after doing the quick fix reported on the net. I shut down the ice maker and turn it back on for a good year. There are so many reports on this. In addition to it not working, the ice maker leaks and makes a puddle by the water dispenser. Everyone complains about the ice maker. This being the case, it is probably a bad engineering design. You would think the company would be ethical and back the product and do a recall and fix the problem but no recalls! There should be. I would like to see a class action suit against Electrolux to force them to do a recall and pay to fix the problem. I would love to talk to anyone willing to do this.

Today, I washed 4 loads of laundry and just put the 5th load going and noticed the screen is blank but lit up. The machine is working so far, but it's not done yet either! We saved and saved, and spent $1200 per unit for this! Never again! We had a front loader before and it was fine. We have a large family, 10 kids and 2 adults, so it gets used a lot and we were told this would be the perfect machine for our family. This turned out to be the biggest mistake we have ever made! I have been sure to tell my friends and family this also! We are friends with he people that sold us these machines and I shared my complaints with them as well. I will only buy Maytag and top loaders!

On top of the current problem with the washer screen, it also leaks in the front and has now rusted the front of the machine because of this. A zipper took a very small nick in the rubber gasket. This by the way is the second gasket we have had on this machine and looks like number 3 at $125.00 per gasket will be on it again! I can't believe the price we paid for these in the beginning and now with repair bills. I'm very unhappy!

All Electrolux Appliances were purchased for my kitchen in a remodel.

Microwave model E130MH55GSA: top vent was broken and needed a replacement before the warranty was up. Electrolux did send the part free, not once but twice. They did not seem surprised. They knew of others with the same issue. Okay, happy with that.

However, this model oddly does not have a turn table and there is a huge amount of moisture that develops on the floor of the unit when cooking. This causes a big mess and can be slippery and dangerous when removing items from the unit. Don't really know what to make of it. It does cook well and I never really put water in the food because of all the water that seems to come from nowhere during cooking, a bit messy. I was told by Sears and Electrolux they don't need a turn-table. However, I see that all the newer models all now have turn-tables.

Now to the Electrolux gas range model EW30GF65GSB. It has been satisfactory with the exception that one of the iron grills came in damaged. Since this was new and under warranty, I was able to get a new one sent out to me free. The oven is consistently under heated. It does not get as hot as the temperature shows. I either have to cook food longer or raise the temperature. I can live with this.

I also have an Electrolux refrigerator model EW23CS65GS1 and it has been problematic. Right after the warranty was up, the indoor water dispenser would continue to allow water to flow. We could not get it to stop thus running water all over the floor. By chance I figured out after a major flood on my ceramic floor nearly to the wood area that opening the door would finally stop the water flow. Company came when it was working and this flood happened all over again. It took forever to find a repairman who would come to replace the part I ordered from Electrolux. You can't get these parts anywhere in any major city I know of. I am in Austin, TX. It was repaired after weeks of waiting and arranging for a repairman.

Then my filters began to fail. Right after I replaced one, it failed within the first month. I discovered this by finding a pool of water at the front of the refrigerator. With further investigation I found wet walls inside and a full pool of water at the refrigerator floor. This was a puzzle and I did not know what had caused all the water. We continued to use the water dispenser not knowing that the leaking filter was causing the spray of water on the inside, down the walls and on the unit floor. The leaking out on the floor occurred when it had nowhere else to go.

It was impossible for me to get the company to replace the nearly new filter that costs around $30 plus $7 or so every 6 months to get them sent. They should have sent it for free. You can't find these for purchase in any major city I know of. Therefore you must order ahead and always pay shipping. However, there is an air filter too that needs to be replaced every 6 months for an additional $30 plus shipping because it can't be purchased in the city either. I wish it had ended there, but no, the new one failed. I have spent hours with this company just getting my call through, getting routed to the right department, waiting on hold, and waiting for parts to arrive.

Electrolux advised me that I should buy an extend warranty I believe would cost me $150 or so per appliance to cover these things. Can you imagine? I purchased these appliances because Sears recommended them as dependable appliances. Sadly, this has not been the case. I did not purchase the new warranties. Then Electrolux advised me further to purchase a replacement filter housing to prevent another leak. I called my repairman who advised me to try another filter. I was unable to use the dispenser and have ice in the freezer for weeks while trying to get all this resolved and on the phone countless times and hours to attempt to get faulty filters replaced free since they were failing. I was refused over and over by representatives and even managers who told me they would not sent a free replacement and the manager hung up on me on more than one occasion. I was finally successful with repeated calls to get a manager to send the replacement without further cost. There have been no further leaks so far and no housing replacement as advised, who knows what will go next. I have had the filter in for a couple of months now with four yet to go.

I have saved the best or should I say the worst appliance for last, the Electrolux dishwasher model EWDW6505GS0. I have had to replace the motor pump that failed out of warranty. The unit shuts down and beeps until you attend to it. It gives a digital error code to tell Electrolux and repairmen. Somehow in the process of getting the part sent from Electrolux after the standard 7-10 business days, I got not one part but two. I kept the new on for reserve; they aren’t really on top of it in the parts department apparently since they send some things twice. Finding a dishwasher repairman for Electrolux that had a good rating was a challenge. The part was finally replaced without having a dishwasher for three weeks. Then I start getting a new error and I try to get a repairman out. I tell him about the replaced motor pump and he thinks changing it out with the one I have in reserve will get it working again. Why he did this I am not sure, because once he had it installed it gave the same error code. I told him I couldn't pay him for replacing a part that he didn't provide and he did not fix the problem. I gave him minimal payment and also got a scratched up ceramic floor out of this deal.

Then I began to notice that the wood floor next to the dishwasher and cabinets to the next room was wet. Now I have to have extensive wood flooring replaced. The repairman had not gotten the water supply attached properly. Even though I was unable to use the dishwasher, water continued to leak out under the cabinet to the wood floor. This is not Electrolux’s fault directly, but if their appliance was working properly in the first place, I would not have had this unit worked on thus causing the water damage to my wood flooring. I called a plumber who discovered the leak from the attachment to the dishwasher to be inadequate. The water damage may also be caused by the faulty drain valve kit. This was ordered after much time spent with Electrolux on the phone after the dishwasher repairman put on the motor pump that did not fix the problem. Electrolux representatives told me the error code required a drain valve kit. I waited past the standard 7-10 days for the part to arrive. It never did, I spent all evening and the next morning with numerous representatives to try and get drain valve kit sent. My credit card charge had already gone through and was paid without any part.

It was finally determined that the part was sent to another person entirely. First I was told I would have to wait until the other party sent the part back. I complained. After much hold time then transferring, I as told to call back the next day since all the managers were now gone for the day. Today after telling my story over and over again to several representatives, more holds, and transfers, I was told they could not ship it over-night for free because a dishwasher did not have priority. Are you kidding-- I had been waiting now for 15 days with no part and no dishwasher. I bought what I was led to believe to be a dependable dishwasher for quite a sum of money that isn't doing the dishes and is costing me more time, more money, and additional home repairs. It is a priority to me. The representative hung up on me. I called again and finally got someone who put me on hold for 30 minutes but agreed to send the part I have already paid for overnight at no additional charge. Of course the story still goes on since I still don't have the part and don't know if it will get the dishwasher running. Then there is the problem with my wood floor damage. I have that to deal with too.

Thanks Electrolux for wasting a lot of my time and money. I will never purchase another product from you again. I think Electrolux needs to stop selling lemon appliances and do right by their customers. I paid $7,678.81 for problematic appliances that continue to cost me time and money.

Electrolux disagreed with both repair shops. Electrolux continues to try to send a repair shop, to agree to do the repair their way. Electrolux continues to evade the big problem of fire, and continues to be inconsistent with its responses to me. Last week, they said it is absolutely irreparable, and this week, left a message on my machine, that denied the replacement, in lieu of some Epoxy to do a cosmetic repair. I am not exaggerating when I say I had 22 repairmen come out to fix my refrigerator, including their own engineer who flew out and spent 8 hours and even he couldn't fix the problem. Very sad! There was issues with the ice machine and sliders which left the freezer door open for I don't no how long and the light comes on when it wants to. The stove has stopped working, so of course we had to eat out on Thanksgiving and Christmas and its still not fixed.

The frame around the top was bent when delivered so the whole thing had to be replaced and there were some missing screws. My dishwasher has never properly cleaned the dishes; I've given up on having clean dishes altogether. What I'm saying is if you are on the fence about purchasing Electrolux appliances, take a walk in my shoes. It's been a nightmare since I purchased my Electrolux. I don't mean to bad mouth a company but having my appliances for the short time that I have has only caused me stress and frustration.

I saw some of the complaints before I made my discussion and thought that some of the people had nothing better to do but complain, but now I believe all the people that have had issues because I'm living it. I’m stuck with a very bad product. I will have to live with it until the warranty run out then they will go on Craigslist. We would like to express our disappointment with the Electrolux refrigerator model: EW28BS71IS. We purchased this refrigerator in March of 2010 to replace a 7-year old Kenmore side by side refrigerator. We chose this model by brand name knowing that Electrolux is the leader in the industry in quality and service on appliances. It's unfortunate for us to tell you how far you've missed the mark with the model we purchased. We've had the model serviced three times since we've bought it. The ice maker board has been replaced twice. My wife and I both missed four days of work due to the service calls so the repair person could come to service the fridge, one day for them to figure out what was wrong and another day for them to install it.

Our last experience was the most painful. The main board went out and we had to live out of coolers and a dorm size refrigerator for over two weeks. It took three visits by the service repair man before the refrigerator was working again. They ordered the main board from their parts list which took four days. They came to install it and the board in the fridge is different than the one in the repair manual they had. This required them to order another board which took another four days. If we didn't have large Kenmore upright freezers, we would've lost all our frozen food.

What's amazing to this story is we aren't the only ones dealing with these issues. We happen to be out at a party with some friends telling them our refrigerator saga and that my wife has put her foot down that if there is one more issue, the fridge is gone. They asked the model and when we bought it because they were having similar issues. Sure enough, they bought the same model around the same time. I've included their story below. I can't believe we are the only two people having these problems and we want to know what you can do to resolve our ongoing issues.

He asked me if I cooked on the cooktop frequently. I thought that was odd since it is a cooktop and informed me that the problem is that the control panel needs to be replaced because I either pressed too hard on the touch pad or I spilled liquid on it. The problem is that the touch pad is level with the burner so if a pot boils over, the touch pad will get wet. It's impossible not to cook and get the touch pad based on this design. And, when the repair man came to check the product, he pointed out to us that the product had welder soot marks around the left back bottom and parts had been refurbished inside the unit. In short, the product was not a new product when we purchased it from Home Depot in 2006.

When we contacted Home Depot about this matter, the appliance manager was very concerned and stated that they will be checking all products from Frigidaire for refurbished soot marks. He also stated that the freezer should not have stopped working after just a short length of time.

As a result, we have contacted our attorney. Our attorney explained that his office will be contacting the FDA and also the Federal Consumer Affairs Office in Washington and request a full investigation into this matter. It is suspected that Frigidaire is selling refurbished products; and 100's of other consumers may have been scammed as well.

The product arrived at my home from Home Depot in the manufacturers box and sold to us as a new product. However, the repair annalist informed us on 3 November 2011 that the product was refurbished not new!

We called Frigidaire Customer Care Center today at 1-980-236-2000 and talked to a representative who had an extremely illiterate tone over the phone. In short, he basically told us to "go to hell."

1000s are being scammed by Electrolux Corp (Frigidaire distributor). Please investigate! Thank you.

The refrigerator was purchased in ‘08. So far, the paddle to dispense water and ice has broken. There was no replacement for the paddle. You had to buy the entire dispensing system. Next, the circuit board fried. Again, it cost big bucks. There was no warranty. Now the defrost fan burned out. Again, it cost $250, not to mention the food that got ruined. Thank God the old GE fridge the Electrolux replaced, that was put in the garage, still works after 15 years. Never again will I buy Electrolux.

I purchased an Electrolux dishwasher from Lowes (never again). I paid 1200.00 dollars for the unit. After the first use, there was water left in the dishwasher that wouldn't drain. I called for service repair and a week later they came out to fix it and the same problem still occurred. I had to use my shop vac to remove the water. I called for the second service call and the tech advised me that I needed a new garbage disposal because food was backing up, causing the pump to burn out. I purchased a brand new disposal and had it installed. It still doesn't drain. I have been getting the run around from Electrolux and Lowes and neither company is providing me with good customer service. I requested a store credit so I could get an replacement and I was told I needed 3 service calls before it could be approved. I will never purchase another Electrolux appliance and I will never shop at Lowes again. If this matter isn't handled I will be contacting an attorney.

It was absolutely horrible. I will never buy another Electrolux product and I will never recommend or suggest them to a client to buy their product. I purchased a French door Electrolux fridge at the hefty price of $3,700. The ice maker never worked and after numerous visits and parts ordering over the next 2 months, it was discovered that the inside was dented to the point that the electronic parts that had failed could not be replaced. The appliance company replaced it with a new Electrolux. Four months later, the ice maker stopped producing ice and water started leaking onto the floor from the water dispenser. Two months later, after 4 visits by the appliance company service department, a gasket left of the fridge seemed to be the culprit.

I ordered that rubber gasket and 3 weeks later, it showed up. The appliance company came out to replace it but it's the wrong gasket. That was 4 weeks ago. I just got a call from them and the correct replacement gasket will be delivered within 5 days. Now, we are going on more than 4 weeks to get that rubber gasket and who knows if it's the right one. That's almost 2 months total waiting for the correct gasket! I'm stunned that Electrolux is still in business with this kind of incompetency and bad manufacturing practices.

After spending a great deal of money on a full kitchen a year and a half ago: double oven, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher, only one of the appliances has not had problems. The refrigerator has been fixed three times and just today, it once again is leaking water inside. Even after three issues, all we get is a third party to come fix the same problem over again, which in itself is time consuming and frustrating. I would have expected Electrolux to step up and address the issue with good customer service and the offer to replace the refrigerator. Instead, we get the runaround.

We purchased an Electrolux front load washer-dryer from Lowe's Home Center on 05/14/11. We also purchased an extended protection, 4 year plan at that time.

We have had problems ever since we purchased the washer. It will not drain the water. We contacted Lowe’s, and they sent a repair technician to check the machine. We have had 4 or 5 service technicians in all to come out. The machine still will not drain.

One technician told us our drain pipe was too tall, so I cut the pipe to the height I was told it needed to be. The machine worked for two and a half loads and stopped draining. The last technician said because we have a septic tank, we had to put in a p-trap to keep back flow air from stopping the machine from draining. I installed the trap. It still will not drain.

My wife called the technician again and was told this was not their problem. They told her that they could not keep coming out to our home. What can we do about this problem?

I bought an espresso maker (EES 200) in Taipei couple years ago. It never worked "properly". The reason: in order to have some pressure, I needed to ground my coffee super fine otherwise the water seemed to pass through without any pressure.

Of course after a certain time, I couldn't have any pressure and my coffee was cold so I sent the machine to Electrolux Taiwan and their "genius" engineer told me that the machine was fine. Well, I had to go to the office to give them a course "101" on how a espresso machine works. I told them you need pressure . After consulting another engineer from China who also had no idea how the machine worked, they finally opened it and realized there was an IC (micro-chip which control the temperature) that was burnt or broken.

They changed it and I got it back but still I had to grind the coffee very fine in order to have pressure (it's not normal). Later on, I got another problem with the plastic part surrounding the seal, which was leaking and another small problem regarding the temperature "light" which was switching on and off quickly (you could hear a repetitive sound little "click" all the time).

I sent the machine and again this "genius" told me that I was putting too much coffee that's why it was leaking? Oh no, not again. So I had to get angry and they found that yes, that plastic part needed to be changed. I forgot to mention about the click problem because I thought one problem at the time is enough for these guys!

They sent me back the machine and I plug it in and heard the click sound right away. I called them and said didn't you hear that sound, they said, "You didn't tell us about this problem." (I'm telling you a 10-year-old child would have heard that abnormal click.)

I purchased an Electrolux Cafe counter depth refrigerator in July 2009 from Lowe's in MA. Since the day it was delivered, it has presented significant functional flaws. The primary problems center around the ice maker which fails to produce ice in the volume suggested by the Use & Care Guide. Along with that, the ice maker has seen numerous replacements due to its total failure. Additionally, the ice/water drips frequently, ice shoots onto the floor presenting a safety issue, the left door gasket has shredded three times and been replaced, ice forms on the right rear vegetable crisper, and the thin coat of fake stainless paint on the interior of the ice/water dispenser is eroding.

This past week, the ice cubes that come out contain fine metal-like particulates, coming from the aluminum part of the ice cube maker. The water is clear, so the metal clearly originate with the ice maker itself. My initial calls to Electrolux resulted in denial of any knowledge of these problems and I was directed to contact one of their authorized repair places for service.

Given the product's repeated failure to live up to expectations and recognizing the need for future repairs, I purchased an extended service contract to mitigate further costly repairs and to protect my financial investment in a refrigerator. At this price point, it should be one of quality, not the junk that it is in reality. I resent having to spend this additional money for Electrolux's inability to stand behind its product.

We purchased several Electrolux kitchen appliances in April 2008 from Smithtown Appliance. To date, we have had every appliance serviced as each one of them malfunctioned in one way or another. They came with a one year warranty from Electrolux, which worked out fine when one of them broke down. The parts came FedEx'd within a week and they sent a repairman quickly. This happened at least two or three times during the one year warranty.

Luckily, I purchased an extended warranty through Smithtown Appliance because the repair work just keeps continuing. To date the refrigerator has been repaired, the dishwasher, the range twice, and the wall oven twice as well.

Presently, the range needs repair as well as the wall oven and I am at the mercy of the warranty company, appliance repair company, and the store where I purchased the appliances. I have been given the run around for months about this problem.

I was told that the parts were on back order, but I called Electrolux myself yesterday and was told that the parts are in stock. I should not have to order and purchase these parts myself.

Having to make call after call and telling the entire story over and over is infuriating.

I purchased these thinking that they were beautiful, high-end looking appliances that were reliable, but in reality are just junk. I will never again purchase an Electrolux product.

I was told that they will "stand behind" their products and I'm sorry to say that I'm not seeing much of that.

Thankfully, we have not had any problems with these three appliance yet! From what I read on the internet and what our service people tell us, I don't know just matter of time.

Anyway, with our refrigerator, we have had it for almost 1 year now and it has made ice probably only 3-4 weeks off and on out of the past year. For over 3000 dollars, I expect more! I just called Electrolux for the 5th time for no ice today. And I have to take more time off of work. We had the ice maker basically rebuilt, had three ice maker computer boards put in and two front door display boards replaced. Below is a summary of our problems and contacts between Electrolux and myself. The response from Electrolux is unconscionable. We have had this unit for almost a year and it does not work! I am an electrical engineer and we design military telemetry equipment and I can tell you the problem is the design. Oct 29, 2010 Received board and installed. Front panel display is working just fine.

Nov 30, 2010 - Called Electrolux 5th time: no ice; Clicking sound, large build up of ice up in ice maker ice mold hitting block of ice - reason for clicking sound! Electrolux called VIA while I was on phone. Here is a letter I sent to Electrolux on 10-25-2010:

We purchased a French Door refrigerator, Model EW28BS71IS, on 1.8.2010 and so far it has been nothing but problems. No Ice, no water, water leaking, front panel not working. We have had ice only maybe 2-3 weeks over the past year. So far, the ice maker board was replaced twice, the front panel board once, other ice maker components several times. The service company has been at the house 6 times. I reported to Electrolux at least 4 times, and today, I had to call both again for inoperative front panel.

This refrigerator is junk and I want to know how many times do I have to call for service to get it replaced or my money refunded (over $3000!) I am currently contacting the Better Business Bureau and several class action attorneys.

    Here was Electrolux response:

Thank you for contacting Electrolux Major Appliances. We sincerely, apologize for the inconvenience. Our refrigerator is cover under a one year manufactures warranty. The appliance will need service, if the appliance was non-repairable, only then we would proceed with reviewing the file. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience. Again, thank you for contacting Electrolux Major Appliances.

Here was my response back to Electrolux (with no further response from them!):

We haven't been able to use the refrigerator fully operational for the last 9 months that we have had it. The ice maker has not worked properly and we have had to wipe up water off the floor in the past 9 months as well.

Spending $3100 on a refrigerator that is non-functional is more than an inconvenience! It is unconscionable. And for that much money and your reputation at stake, a one year warranty is a disgrace. So what you are saying if we keep having service until the warranty runs out we are out of luck!

I want to remind you, that we will get this resolved. I am currently in talks with several attorneys. We are also going to contact the US Attorney General, as this type of behavior constitutes fraud.

Sears is also at fault here because when I reported it to them they did nothing. It took them 2 weeks to get a technician to my house to deem the cooktop unrepairable. Neither corporation has asked how they can help or accept responsibility and I am left paying higher insurance premiums, a deductible and not having a kitchen. All they tell me is that there is a process and it could take 1 month or 6. It had several occasions of error 1, water in the tub. The first service date was 4/6/2009, no leaks were found. The second service date was 1/5/2010, no leaks were found. There were a couple other times of water in the tub code when I did not call Geek Squad, as the dishwasher began working in a few days. The third service date was 9/16/2010.

After several visits, parts were ordered and leak repair kit #158425501 was installed first. It did not repair the problem. Then, a console #154808106 was installed. Completion date was Oct. 5, 2010. On October 10, 2010, I got an error 11 code, drain valve. It straightened up after I reset and it washed dishes, but not cleaning as usual. On October 12, same error 11 code. There actually is water in the tub, and machine will not drain, though it was sold to me saying if there was a problem, the machine would first drain and then quit.

Geek Squad is coming out again on Oct. 14, and talking about a service upgrade kit. They said there is a kit for not washing well also. I think I have a lemon!

When we decided to purchase appliances from Lowe's in February 2009, we selected their top-of-the-line appliances--Electrolux. We purchased practically their whole line--range, micro, fridge, dishwasher, washer and dryer. So far (by September 2010), we have had problems with the fridge (door damaged), range (cook-top came undone), dishwasher (water not draining--dishes remain dirty) and the washer (door would not open). The Electrolux services are horrible. We additionally purchased a full extended warranty.

When you call them, they have no cross reference to warranty information and they cannot locate your contact information if you give them your warranty policy number. When their repair people--which are from a local company--they hardly ever have parts. On September 17th, we learned that the part required to fix our washer is back-ordered and will arrive on October 1. We cannot use one of the most expensive washer until then. I highly recommend never buying any Electrolux appliances.

He cannot find any problems but the machine has snag when the washer spins our clothes. I have lost a ton of new clothes to hole from this washer now it's buzzing, called for service again. Won't drain. This machine is not even a year old yet. My pottery Barn couch seat covers were washing when it wouldn't drain and it's 11 at night, no laundromat and these covers cost $500 to replace and the soap sitting in them ruined the color. I tried washing them out in the tub. I washed the covers a couple of times per week and this time this lousy washer has broke. Electrolux, I will lemon law this machine and never buy Electrolux. I had a Kennmore Front Loader for seven years before we had a flood, never a day's trouble, clean my clothes so much better. I have five kids and I need a washer everyday. I just bought this and I cannot afford another washer. I don't know what to do.

My 30" electrolux in-wall oven was preheating to 375 degrees. It had reached it's temperature when all of a sudden the oven lit up with flames, made a loud crackling noise and went black. I called 911, but decided the danger was over. I opened the oven door and smoke billowed out. We found that the convection coil had caught on fire so hot that it created a hole in the metal backing of the oven.

I was grateful it did not go any further and start the wall on fire. We contacted electrolux, but being that the oven was 4 years old and no warranty, we really had no recourse. After several phone calls to management with a few verbal threats thrown in they agreed to pay for half of a new oven. This was extremely scary, it makes me not want to bake anymore.

Bought an Electrolux gas range and have had issues with the high burner located on the front of the stove, next to the knob. When igniting the burner, it literally explodes and burns your hand; it has cinched my arm hairs. Then when you try to lower the flame, it goes down to almost off.

I have dealt with the manufacturer, Frigidaire, the appliance store where it was purchased, and with the extended warranty company (Warrentech). Four different technicians from two different appliance repair companies have attempted to repair over seven visits (tickets) but with no resolution. Their response is that there are no adjustments that can be made and, therefore, just 'turn it down'. The critical problem is not adjusting after the burner ignites, but the initial start! Everyone is essentially telling me that my brakes don't work and can't be fixed; so, therefore, I should just drive slow! This issue has been ongoing since May 2010 under manufacturer warranty. But because it has been past their 12-month warranty, I need to work with the extended warranty company. Of course the extended warranty company is saying that since it was initiated under the manufacturer's warranty, the manufacturer should replace. I simply want it fixed.

The burner cannot be used. Anytime that the burner ignites, it will burn you hand. The flames overwhelm any size pan and when you attempt to adjust, the flame is minimized to the point it only simmers.

I purchased a D/W from Lowes Home Improvement, Frigidaire Model# FDB105REQ2/ Serial #TH81194251. I should have researched this product better I have found numerous complaints on Lowes website over this and various models of their dishwashers. Two days after the warranty ended it had begun to sound like a freight train. I posted a complaint at Lowes.com. It seemed an inherent problem with their machines within a few months or right after warranty.

Well last night I came back from Sams and my house had smoke in it and something was burning. It was my D/W that I purchased in spring of 09 that was mfg in fall of 08. The heating element on the upper left corner had melted down into the bottom of the D/W and was about to melt into the lower right corner. I proceeded to file a complaint online to no avail and called the office first time received extremely poor customer service and I called back (after she hung up on me) and asked for a supervisor. I spoke with Frank (x-7459) very nice and helpful. He offered me 60% towards another one even though I was out of warranty.

My whole call in the first place was not expecting any money since it was out of warranty but to make sure this didn't happen to someone else. I checked Lowes.com and found another recent complaint August 2010 that said his element melted down into his new D/W and destroyed his cabinets. I told Frank this distributor of elements needs to be checked on. I don’t know if it will happen so I am now contacting consumer affairs. I feel this is not an isolated incident after just reading another melted unit. Will it take a house burning down and or loss of life for their units to be investigated?

Under 5-year limited warranty, parts are included for free, consumer pays for repair. Beginning in April, using the "authorized Electrolux repairman" Mr. Appliance, diagnosed it would not wash dishes, ordered wash pump on 5/14/10. He replaced that and would not work. He talked to Electrolux Technician and in total six times at my home to repair, last on 8/16/10 replacing wash pump, drain pump, connector for pumps, electrical board, all three washer arms, another time and another new electrical board. It still does not work/wash - only drains- the original problem over 3 months ago.

I have talked to the sales company, the Electrolux sales supervisor and can not get anyone to agree that it is not fixable. Electrolux or Airport Appliance should stand behind the appliance and replace it! Electrolux stated that if this happened in the first year, they'd replace it, but not after one year. I read them the warranty manual and it never states that they will replace it, let alone when. It does spell out lifetime coverage, up to 5 years etc. But if you can't fix it, and it is only 4 and a half years old then they should advertise that the appliance may be un-fixable after 4 years! On May 3, 2009, our home burned to the ground. We managed to escape, awakened by the crackling fire. Thus began months of hardship that included being displaced, transferring my children to another school, dealing with insurance and mortgage companies, banks, contractors (one of whom stole our money and never completed the work), and a car collision where a woman rear-ended our vehicle and totaled our car.

When our home was finally completed in December 23, 2009, we looked forward to peace in our brand-new place equipped with brand-new appliances. That didn't occur. Though I was especially excited about my new kitchen and the Electrolux suite of appliances, the refrigerator didn't work. It would not dispense ice or water.

I contacted Lowe's, and they directed me to an authorized Electrolux repair dealer, Twin Cities Appliance Service Center (TCA). Due to the holidays, TCA could not come until three weeks later on January 14, 2010. After several parts ordered and subsequent repair visits, the repairmen determined the water filter freezes and prevents operation of the door dispenser. The door dispenser continued to fail until the weather warmed to the 60s in early April 2010, and we figured out if we kept the top drawer of the French door refrigerator full of stuff, the ice and water dispenser worked.

I was disappointed and found it ridiculous that I had to wait for warmer temperatures and maintain a full freezer. After all, a refrigerator is supposed to work all year long, not just during certain seasons and under certain conditions. But I was willing to live with it, so as to avoid the constant phone calls to and visits from TCA. Electrolux sent me a letter dated February 25, 2010, stating the extension of my warranty until December 23, 2012 "in an effort to demonstrate both our genuine commitment to customer service and our confidence in your appliance..."

Afterwards on March 9, 2010, Electrolux sent me a check for $250.00. These customer service gestures occurred after 3 service calls on a refrigerator that had only caused me mild to moderate amount of inconvenience in time and effort.

I thought we got a handle on the refrigerator situation when on April 15, 2010, I noticed a pool of water collecting in my basement. I contacted a plumber who discovered the leak originated from the refrigerator water line, a floor above. I immediately contacted Electrolux by phone to make a claim. Now, a month and a half later, Claims Department representative, Laurie **, wrote me that Electrolux will only offer the lower repair bid as a full and final settlement of my claim. I countered with the lower bid and the plumber's bill; the representative denied my request.

It is improper that Electrolux refuses to pay the plumber's bill related to the malfunction of an appliance that damaged my home, especially after Electrolux took written responsibility for the malfunction of the offending refrigerator.

In May, I received a letter dated April 19, 2010 that outlined the seven items Electrolux needed to process my claim. Never mind I had to call twice to get the letter and that the letter told me I had to provide those items within 30 days and the envelope was actually post-marked April 30, 2010. My assigned claims representative, Ms. Laurie, told me I could provide the items as soon as I could. Those requested items were e-mailed to Ms. Laurie the morning of June 1, 2010 at 10:15AM. I included a copy of the plumber's bill for $250.57.

Unfortunately, Ms. Laurie e-mailed me a letter dated May 28, 2010 several hours later (June 1, 2010 at 3:53PM), stating my claim was already evaluated four days before and Electrolux would only settle for $1290.00, the lower of the two repair estimates. I find this wholly insulting and incompatible with the customer service I previously received from Electrolux regarding this same appliance.

First, the settlement evaluation was done before the requested April 19 items were sent to Ms. Laurie. This tells me the plumber's fee or any other documents I was instructed to provide were never considered.

Second, I had problems with this refrigerator prior to the water damage, incurring a total of seven service calls to my home. After the third service call, Electrolux, as a customer relations gesture, extended my warranty for another two years and sent me a check of $250.00 for the inconvenience. Now that the refrigerator has actually damaged my home and presented a far greater inconvenience than any service call, I've been presented with a low-ball offer as a "full and final settlement."

I am entitled to compensation for all damages that directly flowed from the malfunction of the refrigerator, including the plumber's bill. I did not ask for the cost of time off work (and ire of my supervisor) to let service people and contractors in; to be on the phone; to gather, copy and send documents; to take photos; the cost of making the photo CD; or for the sheer aggravation of and loss of brand faith dealing with a faulty appliance. It is illogical to give me a check for $250.00 after 3 service calls and no damage to my home and only offer money for the water damage to my home when the refrigerator actually ruins a part of my home. I deserve compensation for the plumber's bill.

Further, when the repair does occur and mold or more extensive damage is discovered (since it's been nearly two months since the water leak), I would be foolish to sign the settlement offer for just the $1290.00, because I would have no recourse for any additional hidden cost.

I contacted Ms. Laurie for re-consideration of the original offer and didn't hear from her for a week! It was only after I contacted customer service and left a message on the Claims Department voice mail that I heard back from her and she refused to amend the offer. I then left a voice message for her supervisor, Ms. Barbara **, to contact me and have received no response. It is radio silence. I suppose the customer service impression Electrolux wants to leave me with is take their minimal offer or get nothing at all, not even the courtesy of a response, after their appliance damages my home.

This fault took 1 month to rectify as they claimed the parts were not available then, and had to wait.

As a working mom, I am only available on Saturday morning to receive the repaired item. I was called at 5:30 pm 1 Saturday evening with no prior warning that they wanted to deliver the repaired item to me, and I was right then in the cinema watching a movie. Then I tried to call the service center several times after that to arrange for alternative timings and each time the service center staff would say that they were unable to locate the technician responsible for this. They always claim to call me back when they do but it has never happened. It has been 3 weeks after the call in the cinema and when I called the service center again this morning, I was told that they are currently checking on the glass panel and they suspect something is wrong.

Frankly, I've only been using this item for a couple of weeks and it has been at the service center ever since. I feel cheated after paying so much for it, and had no idea when it will be sent back to me, or when it will break down again. I think it is fair that I ask for an item-to-item exchange, or money back.

It was installed, and as soon as it got cold, it would not cool because it needed a "garage kit." This information was not included on any of the material connected to the unit but was in the owner's manual. But you had to buy the unit to read that part because the owner's manual came after the purchase.

After several calls at my expense both to Electrolux and Frigidaire, I was finally referred to "Mr. **" in the Philippines who finally agreed to pay for the part and would send an authorization to Tammy at Appliance MD in Bruner, MO. That is about 75 miles away, and even though there is a repair man here in Monett, they would not use him but insisted on this Appliance MD.

Now even though "parts" at Electrolux said the part was available and had been shipped to Appliance MD, we cannot get them to return our calls or come out and install the part. It sounds like a real clever dodge to me. I have been out at least $75 in calls and untold time on this problem. It's too bad because the name Frigidaire and Electrolux used to mean quality and service. Now, to me, it only means trouble. It's working OK.

Then another year goes by, and the drum of the washing machine locked up. I called a repair company, D and J Appliance. They came by and looked at it. They told me the problem. They came back again and dismantled the washing machine. I found out my sock got caught up behind the drum. I took the sock out and put the washing machine back together again. Now, I have to buy a lingerie bag to put my undergarments in. This happened another year too.

Icon fridge door seal gets cut by the bottom drawer, vegetable drawers cracked and chipped, slides work poorly. Seal replaced by warranty, cut again.

Icon convection oven. First time we ran the clean cycle, the glass in the internal door panel blew out. Door was replaced. Still didn't work, reason was failed temperature sensor. Both replaced on warranty. After months of arguing with supplier, oven was replaced.

Icon speed oven. Stopped working weeks ago, several weeks wait for part. Finally today, service man replaced a switch in the door of the oven. An assembly had fallen off and the system shorted through the switch, possibly due to a loose internal screw. Cost of a simple switch and fuse is $80, complete repair with labor $240.

The result is that every single thing we've bought from Electrolux has required major repairs or replacement. They never even had the courtesy to reply to my letter of complaint.

Is it within my rights to pursue a refund from them, or demand they replace at least the refrigerator? What about a lawsuit?

My brand new Electrolux refrigerator is going nuts. First, the main board was going berserk so they sent someone out to replace the board. Upon doing this the entire refrigerator died. Now I'm without a refrigerator until they get back on next Thursday and hopefully solve the problem. I think I have a lemon with Electrolux. I shouldn't have thought the name was the same as it was 50 years ago, because it's not. Don't buy Electrolux until they get all the kinks out.

I bought an Electrolux refrigerator Model #EW23CS65GS1 in June 2008. To my surprise, last month (August 2009) I noticed that the freezer liner cracked (it looks like a ragged fabric). I contacted the store where I bought it and they told me they do not replace liners; they only put epoxy on the cracked liner. I got really upset and explained that after paying $2700 for a refrigerator that it should last more than 5 years in good shape. It was an insult just to put epoxy on it, it is a cheap fix! They maintained their position, they kept explaining me that it is only a cosmetic problem. I guess I will have to keep calling them every 3 or 4 months to replace the old epoxy until the extended warranty I bought runs out.

I am a very disappointed owner of both Electrolux All Refrigerator (Model E32AR75FPS2) and All Freezer (E32AF75FPS2). These two Electrolux ICON Professional Units, as they are deemed, are a dismal example of quality control run amok. Both units are my replacements for two prior original failed units, and the new two units are exhibiting the same exact ‘Temperature Control Failures’. The refrigerator (my second unit after my first failed unit) continues to hover at temperatures of 48-50 degrees which is too high of a temperature to ‘safely refrigerate’! And food is constantly spoiling as one cannot judge under normal product life timelines. One must either turn up the thermostat, which then in turn causes ice buildup on the interior coils and rear wall, thus freezing produce and groceries in the lower drawer.

Then in this refrigerator, one must manually press the ‘defrost’ function in several instances of ‘defrost’ cycles to melt the ice buildup on the ‘interior coils’. This causes continual food spoilage either from juggling temperature settings to avoid warming, or freezing of produce in lower half of refrigerator. Seemingly some sort of sensor malfunction, but all parts have been replaced. This was behavior was exhibited exactly by my first unit originally purchased on 10/22/07, and continues after a few months of ownership on this new replacement unit. As with the freezer, this unit continues to run too cold, set to ’1’, the unit continues to ice up as well, having to repeat the sequence of manual defrost cycles to rid the coils of ice. Both units have temperature regulation failures - not able to safely refrigerate foods.

This is my third complaint filed with Electrolux only to be ignored regarding this ongoing issue with the particular Electrolux Appliances. This is dangerous business to sell products that are not food-safe and are dubbed “professional” when it is lacking thorough quality control. As well as a manufacturer as big as Frigidaire to be allowed to circulate faulty products through the country without any constraint. Is there no National Oversight for this? As this has been fully documented, their product failure (all ranges of levels) is not isolated by now means hundreds, if not more, have had the same problems with these units, as well as other product line. Online complaints are common, this should be addressed, please answer!

I bought a Professional series range and microwave in 2006. The stove had immediate problems. It took almost two months to get it to work, ending in a full replacement. Now, in 2009, the burners go on by themselves and cannot be shut down. This is a smooth-top drop in, so the fire hazard is huge since the stove is effectively part of the counter. I called the service line at Electrolux and expected cooperation. After twenty minutes of serial numbers, model numbers and information, they told me that as a “good faith gesture,” they would pay for either parts or labor. I was dumbfounded. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was promptly disconnected. Another call and another twenty to thirty minutes going through the exact same information (toll call, too), the new person offered me only free parts.

After suggesting that this might be a class-action suit given the extreme hazard, he offered free parts and labor. I called the service company. Four days later, they came out, charging me $89.95 for the service call and told me not to use the stove. They said it would be a week or more until the parts were in and then they would schedule a return visit. I will never buy an appliance from this company again. I suggest that anyone shopping for kitchen appliances avoid this company. With a defect like this with the potential for serious property damage and even injury (what if the thing had gone on at night), I expected over-the-top support. Instead, I got treated like they were doing me a great favor paying for part of the repair. This is a manufacturing defect. Please look into it before someone gets their house burned down or killed.

I responded to the advertised recall by calling this number. I was told I would be sent a prepaid FedEx shipping box and the recalled unit would be exchanged with a new one within 5-7 days of sending the old one in. Now, more than a month later, I am told that I should expect to wait a "long" time to receive my replacement. I had called after three weeks and was told the replacement had been shipped and I should expect it in 2-3 days.

After this time passed, I called again and this time I was told it had not been shipped and there was no forecast date for replacement. I spoke with a supervisor who simply said whoever told me the replacement had been shipped was wrong, period! They are very rude and no explanation why I could not get my replacement other than that they get thousands of units and have been out of stock of replacements for months. No one told me this when I called to report the recalled unit.

Ironically, local stores now have the new units in stock for sale and we as consumers who already paid for the units cannot get ours replaced. No efforts to contact someone beyond the recall center have been effective. As a result, I have had to use my regular Dyson vacuum to clean areas that I used the Electrolux stick vacuum for. It is heavy and hard for me to handle, resulting in injuring my back and arms from the use. I eventually had to purchase another stick vacuum from another manufacturer while I am waiting for my replacement. This has cost me $60 for something that I had already paid for.

We called GE for service. Three times they came, but were unable to repair the manufacturing defect. One of the technicians stated This was a defect and there was no way to repair it, but don't tell GE I said that. All of them indicated there was little they could do but try and file the sharp edges down. GE eventually replaced the dryer, but NONE of the service reports stated what the calls did or what was actually wrong with the dryer. The significance of this I suspect was to prevent any payouts by their insurance company (Electric Insurance) or the original manufacturer (Electrolux). In any case, we are our just under $1,000 in damages (less Depreciation) and Electrolux has denied our claim for everything from the file date to the lack of comments in the technician reports. Each time I dispute the new issue, they make up another. i suspect the policies at GE are done intentionally and Electrolux's denials and displacement of information are also attempts to prevent consumers from getting reparation for poor product design.

It flooded our kitchen and basement causing about $20,000 worth of damage. They sent the same company, RSI, to fix the line again and they again, put on the wrong part. I had to call a plumber to replace the part.

Needless to say, not only did RSI put on the wrong part but they diagnosed the problem incorrectly. It was the ice maker and main water valve inside the fridge. They then sent out All Household twice but frididaire sent the wrong parts. They sent out the wrong parts again when the tech was to arrive the third time but to be safe... he called me first. Again, they were supposed to send out the parts... they've never been seen and my fridge has not been fixed in 4 months.

I have requested a new fridge at this point but they have only agreed to pay 80% IF I purchase one of THEIR products. I almost agreed today... BUT.. they want me to purchase it and they will REFUND 80%. I couldn't TRUST them to fix the darn thing let alone trust them with money that I cannot afford... THAT'S WHY I GOT A SERVICE CONTRACT. I have now sent complaints to the BBB, FTC etc. I'm praying that we may get help somewhere, my Dad is a disabled veteran and on a limited budget.

This has cost me so much time from work, hours of phone calls and a plumbing bill I should have not have to pay. Let alone the damage that's been done to my home.

We purchased a Top Mount Frigidaire refrigerator, model # FRT18S6AWX in April 2007 from Western Appliance in Mountain View, CA. It was installed in the kitchen of a Swim and Racquet club, and though it runs 24 hours per day, it is used by members about 2-3 times per month. The refrigerator quit working in January 2008. A warranty service call on January 18, 2008, temporarily fixed the problem (the refrigerant had to be replaced). The refrigerator worked for a short time, and another service call was needed on February 4, 2008 when the refrigerator quit again. The repair man said that oil had contaminated the refrigerant line, and the refrigerator needed to be replaced. The repair man also said that they encountered this problem frequently on this Frigidaire model. The repair company called Electrolux to get authorization for replacement and were told that the warranty didn't apply because the unit was in a Commercial establishment.

I also called and talked with Peggy from Electrolux who referred the question to Lisa who called me back. She turned down the request for replacement and would not discuss the rationale for the rejection, simply saying her job was to call people and tell them that their claims were being refused. We had a regular home refrigerator in this clubhouse for at least 25 years with no problems whatsoever until it quit in April 2007. We checked the Consumer Affairs website www.consumeraffairs.com and found many similar issues with Frigidaire Refrigerators, many complaints and much frustration on the part of consumers with Electrolux. The failure of the unit was due to a manufacturing defect as is shown by the many problems reported on the Consumer Affairs Website and had nothing to do with any abuse on our part or the fact that it was in a Commercial establishment, a fact that allowed Electrolux to deny the claim.

It is clear that Electrolux knows of this problem, and does everything they can to avoid paying for replacements. Since the refrigerator needs to be replaced and is within its 1 year warranty period, they should accept responsibility for the defective unit and refund the purchase price. The economic damage is that we are out the cost of the refrigerator (about $450).

We spent many hours on the phone woith Eletrolux and calling around to try to find someone that would do the repair.

It is now January 3rd and Eletrolux failed to provide warranty repair as promised when we purchased this unit. We finally found a warranty center that would come here to look at our refrigerator. We found out the name of this company through our local repair centers and not Electrolux. We called Electrolux and mentioned A@E to them and asked if they would call them for us, as A@E told us when we called that we had to be home between 8am and 5 pm. We told them we worked and needed them to come anytime after 3 pm. An appointment was scheduled and I had to miss work to be home for them. They called me at 11:00 am and told me they would not be sending a service man as promised. They told me that I would have to miss another day of work and they would reschedule me. After seeing all of the complaints about frigidaire on the internet, I started to worry that A@E would come here and not have the parts needed to fix our refrigerator.

I was left no other choice after many days gone by, but to go out and purchase a new refrigerator. Frigidaire did not stand behind their warranty. My refrigerator was under warranty. What good is a warranty if the comapny does not stand behind it? I think they sit back hoping that you will just go out and buy another refrigerator so they don't have to pay anything out to repair the one that carries their name. Do not buy Frigidaire.

The dishwasher has functioned OK, but the interior so small that moderately tall glassware cannot be washed, and a regular dinner plate blocks the mid-section whirling spray arm. Since you have to lay the plates over at an extreme angle, neither the mid-section nor the lower spray appear to be able to spray the surfaces sufficiently to actually clean the plates.

The fridge icemaker has been repaired three times, with new parts sent each time. After these three repairs and part replacements, it has worked steadily for about four months, but the icemaker bin must be VERY carefully jiggled into place in order for ice to be made. We rarely dump the bin, but each time we do, it is with great trepidation as bin removal has seemed to somehow trigger the need for new parts.

The oven appears to be the coolest thing on earth, with beautiful blue controls, wonderful racks on rollers, etc. Unfortunately, the interior glass exploded thirty minutes into the first cleaning cycle after we had used the oven for about six months. Luckily, I happened to be in the next room and hear the explosion, which resulted in a cascade of hot glass pouring out the bottom of the oven door and melting the hardwood floor finish. It took two weeks to get a part sent. The person who assisted me with the part said they had had one similar complaint.

The person who repaired the oven said many new products are being rushed to market and that he is seeing numerous problems never experienced before.

I have an Electrolux vacuum which is leaving white marks all over my furniture. I have tried to ask for help and they basically say I am misusing my vacuum. There are marks on my big-screen TV, fireplace and TV stand. MY walls are white, so I cover them with paint and you can't see the marks.

Lorraine should stick to vacuuming the floors.
