    Took a day or two to get service company to take the service call, then the appointment was two weeks out. The service technician called early on the day of the appointment and was on time. He diagnosed the problem quickly and made the repair. Some coolant had leaked while checking everything out so he topped off the system. Very happy with him.

    Choice warranty is terrible. Be careful with all the fine print, they have it set up so that what typically breaks down isn’t covered. The contractors they use are not great and their methodology for appliance replacement doesn’t make sense. They want to give wholesale price for replacement knowing that there isn’t a way for customers to purchase the equivalent appliance for the payout they give you and there is no appeal process. All the positive ratings are suspect, and trying to communicate with people overseas is challenging when calling customer service or submitting a claim.

    I filed a claim two weeks ago. My septic is backing up in my yard. Raw sewage everywhere. They still have not sent anyone. I asked for it to be expedited, and they did, but said I needed to pay for the repairs and wait for reimbursement. This company is a rip-off. They are scammers. They will not fix the issues and do not care about the safety of their clients.

    Very knowledgeable. Knew exactly what to do. He was on time with all the tools needed to fix the problem with our dishwasher. He gave me his card and said if there was anything problem with the dishwasher to give him a call. The work took him less than 30 minutes or at least it felt that way. He was very cool.     Refrigerator had water issue and dishwasher broke. Dishwasher replacement was offer $250 in form of Lowe’s gift card although it was new dishwasher costed $900. When Choice sells policy it says, "We will replace comparable product," but when time comes they say, "We only give builder grade." And even builder grade dishwasher was $450 without installation. Don’t go with market gimmicks. Customers service folks took calls nicely but case manager was horrible to deal with. Mentioned we are trying to cheat system. Made statements without logics. Seems like they are hired to fight and not listen to customer. Ticket was closed for refrigeration without acknowledging and within 30 days when same issue happened they told to open new ticket and pay again.

    The initial call was fine. My appliance service texted me the next day- Fri to let me know they're be on on Sat afternoon. Fri eve I rec'd an email that they changed the appt to Mon morning. Then I rec'd an email from Choice that the tech appt was on Sun morning. Very frustrating! Left msgs for my appliance service and Choice. Called my appliance service on Sat morning and was told they would be out that morning. Tech came out and identified problem and parts needed. Said it would take a few days since weekend before approved and parts in. Choice responded to my earlier msg letting me know I could change service, but they didn't recommend it. Very frustrating.     The service isn't a warranty but more like a scam. Since two claims I filed ended up canceled. Because of the quoted was more than getting a local company to fix. My old 2.5 ton A/C unit failed and needed replacement. I was quoted $2500 over a local A/C company! They measured my square ft and noticed the original 2.5 ton should have been a 3.5 ton. So, I upgraded to the 3.5 ton and saved $2500 on a more expensive unit!!! Then my garage door opener springs broke and needed replacement. The Home Choice warranty contractor said and I quoted "I've been doing this for over 15yrs and the springs can't be replaced and a full replacement is required!!!" The cost quoted was around $700...

    I researched online and found the replacement springs and video instructions on how to replacement them. The total cost $219, so I canceled the claim and did it myself! I called after that to cancel and thought it was.... That was until I noticed the charges months later. I've called multiple times in the past month to cancel and they will NEVER DO IT!!! Today I went to my bank and disputed the charges and canceled my card. DON'T NOT AND I REPEAT DO NOT ORDER THIS SERVICE!!!!

    I am so pleased at the service I have been getting from Choice. My latest issue was my garbage disposal was not working. I entered an acclaim late night and by the next morning I received a call from a technician and he came out that very same morning. Since I had a lot of back of water in my sink I was so happy to get this fixed so quickly. They replaced the garbage disposal. I did have to upgrade to a better disposal which was okay with me.     Refrigerator was denied service. I was told it was a preexisting condition when in fact it was is a malfunctioning component that could have been replaced. 2 technicians were sent out. The first tech diagnosed the problem and ordered the part. The part never arrived and was left on hold for over a month.     I took out a policy with Choice Home Warranty a little more than a year ago. A few months ago, the icemaker in my refrigerator stop working. I contacted Choice and they immediately arranged for a repairman to come to my home to fix it. He had to come out twice because he didn’t have a necessary part, but on the second visit, he completely fixed the problem. Last week, my garage door opener stopped working. I was a little concerned because I wasn’t sure the warranty provided coverage for my garage door, which was a major component of the problem. Before contacting Choice, I called a repair man on my own and he quoted me a price of $850 to fix the problem. Instead of going with this quote, I called Choice to see what they would do, and they covered most of the loss. I ended up paying only $320, which I felt was a bargain.

    Frankly, when I took out this warranty I had read some disparaging reviews about Choice’s customer service, but that has not been my experience. In fact, my experience has been the opposite. I’ve always been able to reach someone promptly and the arrangements made to resolve my issues have been prompt and hassle-free. In fact, on my claim relating to the icemaker, I was inadvertently charged the $75 fee twice, and when I called Choice about the issue, they immediately arranged for a $75 refund.

    The only complaint I have is that I’ve had difficulty reaching Choice through their website. I believe this has probably been an issue with my browser and not anything to do with Choice. Anyway, it hasn’t been a problem because I’ve always been able to reach them promptly by phone. After you cut through their phone tree, their customer service callback system is extremely efficient. I usually receive a call back within a moments of leaving my message, which is a lot better than waiting on the line for hours to reach a customer service representative. In some, I have nothing but good things to say for this company.

    My hot water heater is leaking cold water. There is no hot water for showers or washing dishes. The problem started April 28, 2024.     Technician was good. Choice Home Warranty is the worst. They deny every claim I have submitted for some lame excuses. I had Home Shield for 9 years on 2 houses and I never had an issue with any claim. I changed from them due to fee increase; however their fee was well worth it. Once my contract is over I will be going back to home shield at any cost. Leaking pipe should be fixed in my home; no matter where the water is coming from; however choice denied my claim as usual.

    The technician sent to my home was wonderful and I would gladly use him again. Our discontent is with the nearly two-week delay in Choice Home Warranty providing us an appointment. I contacted Choice to indicate my dissatisfaction. A second service was NOT identified until 4 days later. This was not acceptable and is well beyond the time stated in the policy. Finally a second repair service was identified late the week of April 22nd. This second repair service was outstanding, completing the repair on April 29!     Mr. ** initially indicated that the problem was low Freon (about 4 pounds estimated at that time). But before he put more freon in he wanted to see the A-Frame coil and blower motor. We looked at those and he decided that the blower and its housing needed to be cleaned first, then bring the system back up and test the Freon level again. He did that but warned me that cleaning the blower wheel was a maintenance item and that Choice would not cover that - so my cost would be an additional $225 I had not anticipated.

    After seeing what he had to do to remove the unit, tear it apart so it could be cleaned, I cannot fathom that this would be considered maintenance. Anyway, I had agreed to pay that amount if necessary, so he put the unit back together adding a new capacitor and re-installed it. Sure enough, we were not near as low on Freon as he had originally thought. He only had to add 1.5 pounds instead of the original 4 he had estimated.

    The unit is working great again, but because he wouldn't submit the cleaning cost ($225) to Choice for payment (he said they would reject the whole claim if he did and I would be out the total expense - about $500). As it was I was still out $225 more than I had anticipated from my Choice contract. Why is it that when this was the cause of the failure that Choice would not cover that removal and cleaning expense as well???? If you are reading this Choice, please answer!

    Last year...I had switched from #searshome Warranty to #choicehomewarranty (CHW) because our office was offered a deal. Their salesman said they were superior to Sears even though Sears had never given me one true problem after 20 years of service. 6 months later Choice was called to work on our washing machine. After we paid the $75 for the service call, Choice refused to honor their warranty. They said it was not normal "wear and tear" and arbitrarily denied our repair. I have since replaced the washer, canceled my policy with CHW, and returned to Sears. CHW is a SCAM. Don't do it!!

    Unit is making a high pitched noise much of the day - not 100% but much of the day. Technician told me it was a compressor issue. Several days later I got an email that Choice was going to replace the unit and was going to give me $986 in Lowe's gift cards. As you know you cannot buy a new French Door LG refrigerator with bottom freezer for that amount! I called and complained and was issued a case work - Victoria **. She said she could not increase the amount to be able to buy a new unit but could release the funds to me so I could buy anywhere. I wasn't sure what to do since this did not seem to be viable option.

    I called a local appliance repair person and they gave me an estimate of $1,200 to fix the issue. I will try to find someone who can repair it at $986, the amount given, but will most likely be out of pocket about $250 after the Choice funds are received. All in all I thought the process was ridiculous and an unsatisfactory solution to the problem. Most likely I will not be renewing with Choice Home Warranty in the future and have spread the word to my family and friends.

    It's a really horrible service shown by your support people. For my walk in shower leakage these guys came and opened my dry wall to identify the issue and finally after destroying my wall, they say that they don't cover this and that. Even these guys left my drywall open which is opened by their folks to figure out the issue. It's really very bad and miserable service provided by these guys. Their incompetence in identifying the issue is not my problem. After destroying my dry wall also they did not give the right issue which causing leakage. These guys guys opened my dry wall and left it open. Now who is responsible to fix that??     Choice Home Warranty denied a claim for AC repair dating back to April 12th, 2024. The AC company that Choice Home warranty sent out deemed the repair to our condenser unit as normal wear and tear where Freon leaked through coils. Choice Home Warranty denied the repair stating the unit was physically damaged and did not meet the terms and conditions of the contract. When we called Choice Home Warranty about the denial asking for discovery, a second opinion, and if they were licensed HVAC techs. We were met with unprofessional case managers not assigned to us that spoke over us on the phone. The case managers noted that the reason for denial was due to their team deeming the repair needed as physical damage and that they don’t align with the licensed HVAC technicians on these type of repairs.

    When we asked for a supervisor the case managers noted that they don’t transfer calls as their supervisors don’t handle customers calls. When asked for the team's contact info that claims physical damage they noted this team does not communicate with customers. Based on the phone conversation with Choice Home Warranty, the technicians that work on our equipment and deem what is or not normal wear and tear does not mean anything for Home Choice Warranty as they will determine if it is or not even if not licensed to work on the equipment. This case has gone on for three weeks as my family and I have had no AC in the Texas heat waiting to hear back from Choice Home Warranty.

    The service I have received from Choice Home Warranty has been unacceptable. I paid over $2000 for a three year subscription. They have come out to fix my air conditioner at least six times. And continue to Band-Aid the problem.. This last claim was filed just one month after the previous claim was filed. I have two AC units and they were both mentioned in the claim however, when the technician came to my home, he refused to begin checking on the obviously broken other unit as well stating that he only had a claim for one unit, how is this possible?

    I never described in the claim which unit was broken. So then I was forced to file another claim and pay another $65 fee and what does choice do? They issue the new work order to another contractor. Even though all of my Notes in the claim were very specific asking them to please review the previous claim number and make sure they sent the work order to the technician who was currently in my home. Instead of answering the phone or calling me back as their attendance stated they would I got no customer service, the technician left my home and I still have no AC in South Florida.

    I have had Choice Home Warranty for 3 and a half years. 9 days ago my AC went out and I put in my first claim. They took 3 days to assign me someone. That company isn't a company at all but a guy who works out of his house. He did not show for the first scheduled time and has not answered any of my 9 calls, one text, and one email. The company said I have to wait for him to come out tomorrow or I can find my own HVAC, pay cash, and request a reimbursement. So 9 days in AZ without AC. Yesterday a pipe in my wall burst. I sent a claim this morning and they just set an appointment with another company that works out of their house. They have an F rating on BBB and and horrible online reviews. They also aren't answering their phone and the emailed appointment was set in 2 days. 2 days with pipe leaking in my wall.     The sellers of my home chose Choice so for starters I had a bad hot water heater so they sent a guy out on a Friday. he said he couldn't come back till around Tuesday. Mind you it was 30 degrees so I had to have one put in. Then they hit me with, "It wasn't our guy that did work so we can't reimburse anything." 3100.00 out of pocket then I found out I had a slab leak. They sent a plumber out. He called a friend to do the leak test. I assumed he knew what he was doing. Nevertheless he stayed about 35 minutes and said he couldn't find it. Scam.

However, if there is a problem, it is impossible to talk to a human being if an issue needs discussion. All you get on the phone is an endless voicemail tree. There should be an option in the menu to talk to someone. Also, I canceled an appointment via their phone menu once, and the repairman showed up anyway. I was out of the house that day for an urgent dental appointment. The serviceman left a note that he had waited 15 minutes and charged my credit card $110! So I wanted to talk to someone about this.     Do not ever get this company. You will be lied to. I called 2 days before my policy started to see if I could have my ac looked at because it stopped working during our 30 day waiting period. It was like 1 week before that it stopped working. At first someone told me no, so I told them I wanted to cancel the plan so we could use the money to get our ac worked on 'cause it’s getting hot outside. They transferred me to the resolutions people and a girl named Steph told me it would be covered, to just wait till my policy started and try again. She argued with me about wanting to cancel and told me it would not help me to cancel 'cause then I wouldn’t get my refund for 30 days anyways so I should just wait and place my claim on our start date.

    So I called back 2 days later to try to place the claim and was told no it won’t be covered even though this lady told me it would. She said it was just a misunderstanding and that I would not be better off with another company either because they are all the same. So now since it’s been 30 days I can no longer cancel my plan. I’m pretty sure this lady just lie to me and argued with me so I wouldn’t cancel my plan and have her name attached to a cancellation. So now we are stuck with a company who lies and we don’t have any way to have our ac worked on. This is a house we just bought and we really don’t have any extra money right now for ac repair, which is why we got the home warranty. I’m very angry that I was lied to and basically strong arms into keeping this policy. I would never recommend this company and in fact I’ll be sure to tell everyone I know how dishonest they are.

    Yesterday the technician from DEXTERITY HEATING & AIR never showed up, no call, and didn’t answer phone or emails from me.     I promise you this is not the homeowners warranty you want. I live in a state where I have the heat on more often than I do the AC. After about 7 months of not needing the AC I went to turn the AC on, and it did not work. I paid the deductible to have a tech come out. It took them almost 3 weeks to have someone come out. The company kept denying the claim before ever having someone come to the house to inspect the issue. We were told "because you haven't used the AC in 7 months this wouldn't be normal wear and tear".

    Regardless I finally got a technician here to inspect the problem. The inspector says "I am going to put through a claim to get a new coil installed because this one has a leak. But, good luck getting this company to cover it." Needless to say after many appeals and talking to many people on the phone Choice Home Warranty still didn't cover the cost of replacing any parts. And are out for a money grab. I highly suggest going with a different provider. Last thing - we were told that they wouldn't cover the coil because the coil was rusted... The coil is copper, and copper doesn't rust.

    Last week our dishwasher went out, we call our home warranty and were told it was covered. Someone came out to look at it and told us that it needed a certain part. Later we hear that the part for this model is no longer available and that Choice would be offering to "buy us out" so we can replace our dishwasher on our terms.     CHW probably shouldn't be your first choice. Twice now, when an appliance broke, Choice said that the part in question was not covered. The problem is that in both cases the part was necessary for the operation of the appliance, no workaround. Without being able to change the part the appliance does not work.     BUYER BEWARE!! They are the ABSOLUTE WORST! Not one vendor would work with them because they’ve been screwed over by Choice Home Warranty! It’s now 8 weeks and we still have no operational pool because our pool pump let go early March, 2024! CHW hired a vendor, we paid $100. Service call and they quit because CHW was giving him the runaround with the claim! I have his emails. They blamed the vendor! Emails queries and now what they are doing to me does not lie! They do everything to NOT pay a valid claim! Not one pool vendor would work with them because of their shady practice and continued back and forth emails when they provide everything required to pay a claim!

    Give them full estimate that gives breakdown of parts tax and labor and they send email back give separate amount for part then submit for labor???! Excuse after excuse! Then sales rep said they replace any parts with same model you have and what are they doing now? Only agreeing to provide “builders grade” pump when we have a Whisper Flow. So they lie and act in bad faith. And unfairly handle your claim and delay settlement! Below are a few vendors that refused to work with them and their only pool vendor quit on them and our claim because they were ridiculous!

    Filed claim took more than a week to get resolution even though tech submitted his findings quickly. Just found out salt water system is not covered. Why? It’s part of the pool equipment. Called when approval from CHW was still pending. No response back for 2 days. This was my first claim for a small item. Am concerned about what response would be for a major repair.     My garage door was making this awful noise. It was getting worse each day and it was shaking really bad. Sometimes it would close halfway and I would have to keep opening closing opening closing until I could get it closed all the way down. Choice warranty sent someone out to service my garage door. He found two long long long screws on each side of the garage were broke. He replaced them. He said that would not pay to fix it, but he would do it himself and that was so nice of him.     Having used another Home Warranty company over the years, I was very surprised to find out I would be receiving less than a comparable amount that would allow me to replace my microwave.     The plumber was not friendly. He installed a new faucet that got stopped after just two uses. He came back 3 days later to install another new faucet. This one worked well however the plumber forgot to attach the drain stopper rod. He came back a third time to install that. I discovered the rod was difficult to push and pull and was set lower than others in the house. He said that is just new design. I doubt that. Just tired of dealing with him.

I tried to have my 36 YEAR OLD window unit replaced and they said they couldn't because I opened the cover to see what was wrong before contacting them to assign a technician.     Please do not get Choice as your home warranty provider. I went with Choice because the monthly and deductible was cheaper than the others. I paid the cost for going the cheaper route. They low balled me on my Washer and Range. I had to come out of pocket several 100 dollars to replace my items. Three of their contractors told me (at different times) to get rid of them. I placed a plumbing claim in January. They couldn’t find a contractor until the middle of February. The first two contractors wouldn’t even come out. The third kept giving me the run around. I didn’t get my issue fixed until April and what I placed the initial claim for wasn’t fixed. I canceled them to keep them from taking any more money out of my account. Their customer service is horrible. They are rude and will hang up on your face. If you are considering Choice, remove them from your thoughts. They gave me more stress and heartaches.
