Choice Home Warranty not good. I had problems with my AC. I contacted the company. They send someone technical and they said I have to get new unit. I thought insurance get new unit but they contacted me. I have to pay almost 3000. They are fraud. I'm not happy with them. No good.

Called CHW after being told my 10 year old Trane AC was shot by Semi Annual Service Company. $5,000 Replacement. It was working before they arrived. After Calling SC and asking for 2nd Inspector they found loose wire. Hmmm. CHW scheduled repair within hour of my call but I cancelled before they came. Very quick response.

Response to have Tech call customer to set up appointment to come for the repair was good within 24 hours. Tech was professional, on time and seem to know what he’s doing. The AC was repaired and is working well now. Hopefully it will be a permanent fix and ready for the hot Summertime.

It took more than a month after claim was submitted repair of the shower. While technician was of good quality the cost of the spare part was not fully paid by Choice. The policy is vague and misguiding. The claim evaluator is rough and arrogant. I suffered for almost a month without shower.

The technician was on time. He called before he arrived to ensure we would be home and tell us when exactly he would arrive. He was very professional. He checked our whole house air conditioner and found all that was needed was freon. Very quick service. He was done in fifteen minutes. Left his card which was great as I have friends I am recommending him to them for their need. We could not asked for better service.

The spring on my garage door broke. They set up an appointment with a repair shop and they came out and fixed it of course. So called on Saturday evening and he fixed it Friday evening. Really nice guy. Very knowledgeable and had it fixed quick. Handed him our copay and he emailed receipt and left. Highly recommend.

Marcus from MB Heating and Cooling Was on time for the appointment, he was very professional and friendly. He found the problem almost immediately and took care of it in a timely manner. Marcus was very helpful with tips on how and when to schedule maintenance in the future in how and when to scheduled maintenance to try to avoid problems in the future. He seemed to be very knowledgeable about his work and informative about what need to be done and why.

I am Extremely impressed and appreciative for the spot on customer service. Questions and concerns answered promptly. I would highly recommend this service to anyone because of the attention to the customer and their home warranty issues. Our clothes dryer had failed and upon receiving the technician's diagnosis it was determined that not only was my issue covered, but they deemed it necessary to replace the unit with a comparable unit.

I was informed that I could have more than one action and pay one service fee and when I filed my claim I was informed that I had to pay for each claim. So to have my dryer fixed and microwave fixed plus my fan repair would cost me over $250.00.

The repair claim process went smoothly and website was easy to use, their response was prompt. The only improvement I can see being made is on the website where it asks you to choose what the problem is with the appliance. There needs to be a text box where you can give a more in depth explanation.

The customer service was quite helpful and she was assisting to submit the claim successfully. The customer service call options were simple, and it was useful to wait for the phone no later than 2 minutes. Even if they call you back, the customer service called me back in 1 minute.

It was pleasure to speak and do business with CHW plan representative-Lorenzo **. He seems very transparent and definitely was very customer friendly and helpful. He did succeed in upselling his company plan and if all goes right seems a win-win situation for both the CHW company and me as customer. He sure is an asset for his organization and I look forward to having a great positive experience with CHW.

I discovered a leak in my HVAC system within a couple weeks of moving in my new house. I placed a ticket over the phone and within a day of making the call a repair technician showed up to inspect and make the necessary repairs. The issue was addressed onsite and the repair company was knowledgeable and professional.

This was my first call to home warranty. We had a clog in our septic pipes. I was really worried because she said it can take 24 hours for a company to respond. But it actually was a few minutes. We couldn't flush or turn the water. The company that responded was Clear Flow. When I told them it was emergency they came out within 30 minutes. So far the problem is fixed and I'm happy about how everyone was very nice and patient with me.

Compare to other home warranty co, I found the response time to my service request to be extremely slow. I was offered an e-gift card to settle my claim. However, I was informed that the gift card would not be available for 30 days which means that I will have to incur additional costs to get our clothing laundry.

Tech was here when promised. Dryer is about 30 years old but still in working condition prior to belt breaking. Repair was performed promptly. Back in business! Service was fast and professional. Plumbers that serviced the problem with the garbage disposal were very polite and knowledgeable. They instantly checked the disposal, advised me on what the problem was, checked with the insurance agency, and replaced the garbage disposal. They also made sure that everything was safe to use. I’m very satisfied with Choice Warranty’s fast service.

Wow. Fast service. It was amazing. I can’t believe it. I sent my claim in early in the morning and by mid afternoon my dryer was fixed. They let me know when he was coming and tech texted me on his way to my house. He was friendly and seemed to know exactly what the problem was. He also had the part with him so we didn’t have to wait for parts. Thanks. I would definitely recommend your service to others.

My garage door tension spring broke, and with minutes I filed a claim and had an appointment to fix the door. When I called the company that was to complete the repairs, he worked with us and got the repair done early, all for a $75 service fee. I just recommend Choice to my dad, who is now a customer as well.

We submitted a claim on April 16th and did not receive the name of a technician until April 19th. It said our appt was scheduled for April 26th, ten days after our claim. We live in Georgia, it was getting hot, so a 10-day appt. delay is unacceptable. I called the technician on the 19th and was told the 25th was the best they could do but would call me if there were any cancellations. They did not show up on the 25th and, when my wife called them that day, they said they did not have us on the schedule. I called Choice on the 27th, who then called the assigned company, and was told that the company would call me that same date. The assigned company never called me; I called them numerous times, left messages, but never got a response. I strongly suggest you take R&A Cooling, McDonough, GA off your list.
On May 1st we were notified by Choice a new technician was being assigned. We were given an appt date of May 7th. We were fortunate because the technician called us and said he could come out on May 1st. He did come out that day late in the evening but was able to get us some cool air. He said to give it a couple of weeks; this could be a temporary fix but we would go step-by-step. It took 21 days from the date of our claim to have someone show up at our house. This is totally unacceptable for an air conditioning issue. We had numerous day that were in the 80's, approaching 90 degrees.

Pleasant and delivered the program in a manner that was convincing. I have one home with Choice Home Warranty that was expiring. I decided to protect my second home, as well, because of the salesperson. He helped me understand the value. I also added my pool protection. I usually do not purchase other warranties; however, living in Florida it makes sense to have a home warranty.

The Technician that arrived to fix our AC was smart, fast, and friendly (I could not ask for more). My only issue was that the arrival time of our tech was more than an hour past our service window. Some status updates would have helped so that we could have planned our workday out better. Service window 11:00am - 3:00pm (EST). Arrived at 4:10pm (EST). I was never given any type of proof of service or payment receipt (either in writing or email).

Almost two months without a working refrigerator and no resolution. Choice told the tech, we will pay for the labor, but not the part because it's still under manufacturer warranty. LG must supply the part. But LG will only release to one of their recommended techs. NOW what...Choice HW. This is tech situation # 4, 5th service Call and still no refrigerator. If you have CHOICE, expect the run around. I have filed a complaint to the BBB.

We were/are most pleased with this technician. Professional, polite and knowledgeable. Contacted us with an estimated time of arrival. Respectful of our home. Advised of possible need for repair and gave us an estimated window of time in which we would hear about the approval for the repair. The Apex customer service person is delightful to work with for scheduling appointments.

Ron ** was the Tech and owner of the company. The job took only a few minutes and I was very pleased with his service. The unit needed a capacitor replaced so it would be up to spec. The process to do the replacement took Ron about 10 minutes to repair.

Substandard providers and you are required to use their providers. Their providers do substandard work. Not worth the money. Try a different plan. Customer service staff is rude and unprofessional. Exhausting trying to get anything done.

It was something I was very interested in. He wasn't pushy but very helpful in answering questions. I would recommend to family and friends. Especially those over 60 and living alone should jump at this warranty service. I haven't had to use it but I am sure I will be pleased.

My only concern was that he never call me. I called at 3:00 wondering if he was still coming and was told it would be another hour. It took him one minute to unjam it and I thought for $65 it would have been a better exam of the item so it would not continue to happen. Next time I will ask a neighbor. Situations like these should cost less.

The claim Process is really easy to report on-line. & most important the item was covered. I've used other home warranty companies and nothing is ever covered. There is always some reason to demy coverage. The website is very easy to use & they schedule the appointment for me. The whole process is very simple and hassle free.

Technician was very professional and knowledgeable. Was able to examine and repair the unit in a timely way. He also came a day earlier than scheduled since he was in the area. He explained what he was doing and to expect in case the situation comes up again. He was careful and made sure that the area was left clean.

The technician that came to the house to look at the dishwasher was friendly and professional and kind. Everything changed when the system couldn’t be repaired and needed to be replaced. My system was a good brand and with solid options and the replacement price was less than I could purchase the cheapest available dishwasher on the market. They say it is wholesale price but as I can’t buy wholesale from Lowe’s (replacement money is a gift card). I don’t know what good that does me.
Bought the warranty because I am a teacher with limited funds and couldn’t afford surprises and this experience had been a terrible surprise. Not only that but we have been without a dishwasher for nearly a month now and they say the paltry gift card will take 30-45 days to arrive. So approximately 3 months without a dishwasher and significant outlay of money to replace a dishwasher even though it was covered. Yeah, definitely expected better and was SOLD better.

The technician seemed very knowledgeable about our washer and was able to quickly find the cause of the issue. He had to order parts to complete the repair. I will be happy to provide additional updates once the repair is complete. He was punctual and told us to submit another claim for the issues we have with the dryer. I will do so today.

A&E (Sears) Factory was prompt in responding to my needs, however the required part was ordered for delivery to my home and it took 7 days to receive. Their website is not the best and it was difficult to respond to model and serial number of my LG washer. When Johnnie P. arrived the part received was defective but luckily he had the same part in his truck and quickly took care of the problem. My suggestion is that A&E should review the way in which parts are sourced and provide a better inventory solution.

What made me want to sign up with Choice -- was all the other offers to sign up was with each item separately, each kitchen appliance, the air conditioning, etc. With Choice, it's all in one.

Submitted claim, got the response within a few hours from Choice Home Warranty. Our technician arrived at our home and reviewed the problem, did some quick checks on the unit, solved the problem, and got us back up and running within 15 minutes. Overall excellent service from a trusted source. The contract came with the purchase of the home and has come in handy.

I left American Home Shield because their rates just got too high. Your rate was $40 dollars less. So far I am extremely pleased. Shin Young ** with SOS appliance is very professional.

Please don’t waste your money this company. All they do is take your money. I have filed a claim because my ac was not blowing cold air. The company came out. I paid my service call fee. The technician said he was going to replace the fuse and the capacitor. Within a few hours it was back to Not working. I called a company outside of the warranty company. This company brought to my attention the last tech put an outdated fuse from years ago that was dead after testing. Also the capacitor was old and tested bad. I contacted Choice Home Warranty explaining what happened. They said, "Oh well. Nothing we can do." Then I had an issue with my pool heater not working so again I filed claim. They sent out Paradise Pool and Spa. I paid the owner Marty. He opened the panel. Said my heater was toast. No good cuz looks like rats got in there. I was told I needed a new heater about $4800.
Was in and out in 3-4 mins. Never diagnosed what the issue was. I again called an outside company to do an actual diagnosis. In 12 mins determined that the pressure switch was bad and replaced with a “new part” thus solving the issue. My heater works great as new! Please stay away from this company choice home warranty. They continue to deny claims and send people that are lazy and incompetent to just deny your claim. $150.00 later problem solved. They don’t even deserve a one star rating all my neighbors had warranties with their company having same issues denying every claim. Such a rip off company!! Save your money people!!

Southern Homes was easy to schedule with. In fact, they adjusted their schedule to fit into mine. The technician was knowledgeable and quick; he finished the job in less than half an hour. The tech had a good grasp of Choice home warranty requirements and policies. It was not that big of a job; all that was wrong in my house was a leaky faucet.

I think Choice may be the most dishonest and disappointing company I’ve ever dealt with. You get paid every month from my account but every time I’ve put in a claim it is denied! You could do better by your customers. After all that’s the reason we get a home warranty!

Due to "corporate" not responding in a reasonable amount of time by the technician requesting approval to proceed with the cost to repair my dryer, after 22 minutes of waiting, I had to leave to meet a granddaughter for lunch and I'm sure the technician had other calls he had to get to. I finally get an email 1-1/2 hours later notifying me they had approved the request to make the repairs. Now I have to have a follow up appointment to have the technician finish what he had started several days ago. Not impressed.

It was very difficult to get through to place a request. Then one was scheduled that did not match what I requested. You cannot give a live person for a discussion. You book an appointment first without talking to the customer first. My order stated stove top which is not what I had requested. This is NOT the first time I have had issues with Choice Home Warranty. I had to pay for a plumber to come out to fix my outside faucet. I was very clear that this involved from house to house and yet they sent out a technician and denied the service. I was told this was covered!! I am very dissatisfied with not being able to talk to anyone regarding issues and being told when I signed up that all was covered in my question then was told by plumber for my garage leak and hot water that it was not covered. Great service. The only reason why I didn't give 5 stars is because it was over 24 hours before a service was scheduled. The technician was great and helpful. He was great with communicating when he was en route and what the problem with our Ac unit. He was great with explaining cost before doing anything.

Albert was outstanding!! I'd hire him if I was still in the customer service business! He is definitely a keeper! I would certainly refer him to friends and relatives. He listened and understood my wants and needs. I actually hung up on another company to take the call from Choice. Then answered a 2nd call from Choice and when I told that rep that I was talking to another company to see what a wonderful deal I had gotten and when I told him they included leaky roof...he added that on for me!! You guys are awesome!

Requested quote arrived quickly and a salesperson, Benjamin S., followed up with a phone call. He explained current specials and signup was an extremely easy process. Benjamin also explained how to create an online account. He was very helpful, knowledgeable, and courteous. Choice was highly recommended on the internet when I compared plans.

A provider was assigned to us within hours of my filing a claim for our A.C. The repairmen called to reschedule when they were running late and came at the new time, calling to let me know when they were en route. They were courteous and thorough and found 2 independent issues. He had them both fixed promptly and it's been working perfectly since.

DO not waste your money. You will not receive the peace of mind they sell you on upfront. I have only had them for ~10 months. Initially a fully intended to renew as in principle it sounded great (one defined upfront cost and a small service fee per claim for peace of mind). In reality I have found their priority is to deny every claim. They still charge you upfront to come out. As a matter of fact, the technicians won’t even enter the house unless the service fee is paid upfront. Then: The technician will look at the issue and leave while they wait for approval for the fix. On my last claim Air Conditioner issue, the technician told me straight out that I had a bad contactor on my Condenser. That it was a normal wear and tear failure on this older units. He even said he had the parts for the repair in his truck but had to wait for approval. I received no call back.
Upon Contacting Choice Home warranty, the said to call the technician directly. The Technician told me that the coverage had been denied. Choice Home warranty denied the coverage claiming that the failure was caused by a power surge (Note that: 1. I noticed no such surge, 2. I have a second AC unit right next to the one in question working perfectly, 3. There is nothing else in the home affected by the alleged power surge). I set up an appointment with a claim specialist to discuss. It was like talking to a wall. It was clear that customer care was not her priority. She acknowledged that it is a normal failure; however, that because the tech mentioned the possibility of a power surge that they would not cover the repair. She went on to say that there was no room for discussion and that there was no path for further escalation (she claimed to be the highest customer facing authority).
All this takes weeks! All while the AC for my kid's rooms is not working in the middle of a heat wave. This is only one of several examples. It is clear to me that their business model is to collect the coverage fee (anywhere from $800 to $1600/year). Set up appointments to collect the appointment fee and then come up with any reason to deny coverage. As a customer you will not get the peace of mind that they are selling you upfront.

After having great difficulty contacting my current home warranty provider, with much time wasted waiting on the phone and complications using its cell phone form and internet connection, only to realize I wasn't covered, I decided to chose another home warranty provider. I chose Choice Home Warranty. The contact person was most personable and helpful, and no hard sell techniques. The prices for a great array of services were reasonable, and he provided options for additional coverage. It helped that Choice Home Warranty is so highly rated. I am comfortable with my decision and choice.

When something goes wrong more than once in a few days you feel like the world is against you. To the rescue comes Choice Home Warranty. My claims for a washing machine and then AC were two days apart and they had a technician scheduled within the day of reporting and the techs assigned moved our appointment up by a day in order to get us back up and running. I am extremely grateful and would recommend Choice to others.

Philippe, the plumber, was right on time and quickly fixed the problem. He gave me the model number and suggested getting in touch with Moen, as their products have lifetime warranty. I have done that and am waiting for the parts from Moen. Once the parts are received, will get back to him.

Technician communicated with me via email and then called me the morning of the appointment. I was able to give him the error code and describe the problem. He gave me an estimated time of when he would be arriving, and arrived on time. He was able to fix the machine in a timely manner. Very professional.

Choice Home Warranty should have the option to expedite service when it comes to a refrigerator or hot water heater. This waiting for 24-48 hours for a technician to accept the job is absolutely ridiculous. Then the service technician will not have the parts to fix the issue and customer will have to wait another 2-3 days for parts to come in and then customer has to take off work again to have parts installed. This whole process will take 7-14 days to have something repaired. Not ideal. Possibly add this to your customer service for a premium so that customers can choose. Just a thought.

I disagree with Home Warranty's decision not to cover the cost of my repair. They said it wasn't covered due to the faucet that needed replacing was on the outside. I disagree because the pipe leading to the facet is indoors and the plumber had to cut a hole in my wall to repair it. I not only had to pay the plumber but also pay someone to repair and paint the wall. Also, the plumber they sent did not repair the faucet to standard.

I've waited a week for a water heater to be repaired to be told it was not covered. If you can't cover water heaters, what the hell. I have been inconvenienced for a week, I called my plumber and they arrived same day and will be installing new water heater today. Stay local, support your local businesses, Choice Warranty will not be a business, I will renew my business with.

Our microwave stopped working. They sent someone out in two days and repaired it. The company that repaired it knew what it was right away. I love the fact that you can submit a claim online and get a reply the same day. If you're looking for a home warranty you should consider this company. They cover almost everything and you only have a $75 service fee. I am so thankful for Choice Warranty.

Excellent mostly. $75. Per visit. They did fix a few items very good. But sales pitch did not accurate portray overall experience. They promised a new appliance if they couldn't fix it. Not so. The dishwasher needed a new motor & would not fix it! They are sending me a check for $249. Hardly replacing it. Their sales pitch promised me a new appliance if needed. It took this company over three weeks to find a technician and due to this time I incurred more damage. I suggest finding your own person to come out or a warranty company with a better pool of technicians and a customer support team that will take the extra step. I was told to call the company myself. Had a leaky shower handle that caused a water leak through the ceiling. Called CHW and they sent out a plumber the next day. He did an excellent job fixing it in a very timely manner (he had the right parts with him). I don’t see how it have been any better.

The refrigerator experience was fine. The oven was a different story. The first company came and left when we asked them to remove their shoes when in our house. Then it took an additional two weeks for another company to come and do a repair estimate - all the time (about 4 weeks) with no oven.

We have submitted a number of claims after owning our home for only two years. The first major claim for our HVAC was denied because it wasn't "installed properly" due to it being too big for the house. This is not something discovered on inspection and is an easy way for them to deny HVAC claims. There goes $7000 out of pocket. The sewer line was backed up and we discovered the tree was eating into the pipe. Another claim denied, another $7500 out of pocket. Now we're getting water hammer sounds and the tech identified the issue but CHOICE denied his three attempts to get approval to fix it. I will not be purchasing this warranty again.

A repair technician made the diagnosis on my oven, and three parts were needed. He was very professional and knowledgeable. Four days later, I received an email from Choice stating that they were unable to fix my current oven, but would provide a Lowe’s gift certificate for $329.00. After researching 27” wall ovens similar to mine, I found a HUGE discrepancy in pricing. The least expensive wall oven was over $2,000. So, even with wholesale pricing, there would be absolutely no way I could replace my oven.
I scheduled a meeting to discuss this situation further with Victoria. She was very professional and seemed to understand my explanation and research analysis. After further research on her side, she was able to increase my gift certificate offer to $1,012.00. Unfortunately, this amount is still substantially lower than what it will cost to buy replace my oven. I am very disappointed in the final amount offered, and will have to save additional funds to cover the cost of the oven, taxes, and professional installation.

We had no cooling in our loft area. Tech said it was low on coolant. He Added coolant to our split Samsung AC…. Tech said it is now cooling at 72 degrees. He was thorough and competent and pleasant. Told us to call again, if have another issue as there could be a small leak and he was not authorized to do a leak detection test at this time.

CHW decided to replace rather than repair my built-in microwave/oven instead of repairing it. They gave me $667 in gift cards, valid only at Lowe’s. What if I don’t want to shop there? The cost of a new one ranges from $2500 to $5500. I appealed. They refused to increase the amount, saying that they based the value on the features that it has, rather than the cost to replace it. Their associate lied and said it did not have a convection feature but it does. Very dissatisfied with CHW. No where in the booklet they sent does it explain the method by which they calculate the payment.

And they sent a technician to fix it and since that year, every year my AC system gets a problem and this year, they told me that I need to change the whole system and refuse to cover it because of lack of maintenance! When I submitted my claim, I included a statement that the fan itself was working. The problem was it squeaked so loudly that it prevented me from sleeping. I wanted the squeaking to be addressed if possible. Tim explained that he could replace the fan, but I didn't want to do that. He went to another service call but later came back with some WD-40 to see if that would help. He also gave me good advice about the type of fan I have. I appreciate that he went out of his way to fix the problem because he could have just taken my fee for the service call and left. He resolved the issue, and I can now sleep cooly and comfortably.

If I could give them negative 5 stars I would. I read reviews, and there were a lot of bad ones, but in researching, it looked like Choice was still ranked the No. 1 warranty company in the US (don't be fooled by that), and the salesman was convincing. I specifically questioned why a lot of reviews say they refuse to cover repairs, and he said that was false, they cover 87% of repairs. Well then I must conveniently be part of the 13% because sure enough, I made my first claim, and they immediately sent me an email refusing to pay for the repair saying it was a "preexisting" condition. Even the repairman who they sent said other warranty companies would cover this, but Choice is notoriously bad at covering anything, and he is currently helping 2 other customers fight to get their repairs done.
Then, when I went to cancel, they were trying to convince me to stay saying they were going back to "talk to the supervisor" saying they'd give me 3 free months, and I questioned why he thought I'd risk another appliance breaking down and them not covering it? Also, I wasn't told I'd be charged a $50 cancelation fee, the salesman said it was zero risk, I'd get all my money back besides the monthly policy charge. I tried to talk to a resolution manager about getting the fee back, and of course, he refused, he said it was in the "fine print." They'll give me a good deal to stay, free months of coverage, but they would not give me any of my money back. Trust the reviews on this company. Don't choose Choice. Also note they are red flagged on BBB and have lawsuits against them.

The problem is that I paid for the whole year and NOW I can't cancel because they are not giving me my money back!!!! Their cancelation policy is very tricky!! If possible, there I would not have provided any stars. I sincerely regret ever getting a warranty through Choice. My built-in microwave broke. I was offered $191 to get a replacement after paying $85 for a service call. Obviously, the only people who benefit from this company is Choice and the service provider. I don't know anywhere where you can get a BUILT-IN Microwave for $191. I cancelled my warranty and went with American Home Shield at a better monthly price and more reputable.

My main concern is the inability to get a technician assigned promptly. I have voiced my concerns and was finally able to speak with a Resolutions Manager. It appears that some help is forthcoming, but the overall concern is still pending. I am continuing to use the service since my contract is current, so I hope to see some improvement. The customer service calls are very frustrating especially if you have an issue that they can't answer, they put you on hold or tell you they will transfer you to the correct department, only to then be disconnected and have to start all over again with the automated system. If you do not agree to a callback, then you are automatically disconnected. It took four times before a Resolution Manager finally called me to discuss my issue.

Downstairs unit will run for 1/2 hr at all times and not fully cooling. The condenser outside was not running. The thermostat was 1st problem, then the overflow sensor in the drain pan would shut things down. Nick w/ ECO Air unplugged line & replaced the thermostat. He worked on finding the problems & fixing them for 3 hrs. Very Good AC Tech.

Air conditioner stopped working on a Thursday evening. I submitted an online claim and received an email response next morning. After 24 hours of not receiving an appointment I contacted Choice, which was quick and easy to my surprise, and they escalated my claim. The next day, Saturday, my air conditioner was repaired. Artic Air repaired my unit in 30 minutes, they were friendly and clearly explained the problem. Overall the experience was very satisfying.

I purchased a 6 year plan with Choice, when I bought my first home in 2021. My AC unit was 25 years old, and I explained to the sales rep that I needed this plan to cover me should my AC unit stop working. I was quoted that my unit had full coverage. In the summer of 2023 I had water damage in my basement due to an obsolete drainage pan - Choice denied my claim and never fixed the issue. In April 2024 I submitted a claim because my unit was not cooling. The technician came out to run a common nitrogen test and located a refrigerant leak. The test was approved by Choice, and my claim is being denied for replacement because their technician, that they use and that they assigned to my claim, "damaged a coil" which is also common for this test. Because of the damaged coil, they are denying my claim.
Their technician isn't answering my call, and the case manager Taurean and Eric P. refuse to escalate my claim or take any accountability. He reads from a script that "their policy" (which he does not provide or quote) is their reason for denying my claim. I am now expected to reach the technician and ask him to replace my unit. A technician that does not answer or return calls. The coil shavings, which could only have been created by the technician, are attached below.

I had a terrible experience. My washer needed repairing and Choice sent a technician from Sears to service my washer. The washer was mis-diagnosed and it took Sears 2 months to get back with me. Because it took so long I was told to find my own technician and choice would only pay for the part not the labor. They turned down my request for a different company and they refused to pay for labor.
Now I am left with my washer still broke and paying 50 or more a week in laundry and Choice asking for more documents before they decide if they are going to cover the repair of my washer. They did not and will not replace my washer and could care less how much expenses I am incurring as a result of my broken washing machine. The case manager that was assigned to my case was not responsive and a different case manager acting in her place was extremely rude. Her response to me was, "Do you want to cancel your contract with us?" Find another company to provide your home warranty services. Choice Home Warranty is not the one.

Called Choice on Friday Water heater was not working. It took until Monday to get a response from the Plumbing Company. They would not be able to get out until the following Monday when they had told Choice to find another company since there is no hot water and should be considered a priority. I spoke with Choice and stated that this was unacceptable to go 16 days without hot water, their response was that it would be another 48 hours to find another Plumber now another 5 days. I am sorry that I have referred family members to this company which I will be changing to American Home Shield once this claim is done.

I am not happy at all about the denial of my toilet claim. The toilet handle is not flushing due to wear and tear. Nothing broke off. K&K plumbing representative Dominque stated that the problem was from wear and tear. Choice warranty is getting $44 a month to fix my repairs and can’t fix a simple toilet handle. I plan on canceling the warranty if this continues.

After registering online only after going through several minutes of voice automation getting my answers incorrectly, I’m finally with a service claim number. I was also told to call this number to speak with someone. I call this number. Start all over again and get an additional and this time a correct claim number. This is inefficient. This is a claim I should have made in 2020. But I thought it was the pan I was using on the glass top, so after about five purchases and five giveaways of those pans, I find that the problem is much worse and I don’t use my oven or my stove out of fear. Our kitchen sink was backed up and not usable. We contacted Choice Home Warranty and established a claim for the repair. After three days, no technician was found by their group and we were put in the position of finding our own out of network plumber. We obtained the services of an outstanding plumber who repaired our backed up kitchen sink in under an hour. Since we had the repair done on a weekend, an added cost of $100.00 was charged to us at our expense. While the overall claim process was smooth and efficient, the long delay and added expense was very disheartening. Both happy and sad with Choice Home Warranty.

However, to date, this year, I had about four claims and all were resolved efficiently and in a timely manner. This online portal is very effective to communicate. I have only one complaint. If the appliance is not fixable, instead of replacing they always offer very low price to the customer. The amount CHW offered is much less (less than 50%) that the original price of the appliance. I think CHW can look into this issue and take a positive steps to address this issue.

Your technician gets a 10 - He WAS TERRIFIC! But because you took more than two weeks to dispatch a technician, you only get an overall rating of two stars. Your delay caused my pool to turn green while I waited. Unfortunately based on the overall experience, your rating and your referral score is significantly diminished. You MUST sign up many more pool technicians in my area in order to improve this rating.

The gentleman that set up my policy was so cool and nice. We talked about all kinds of things, and he was very informative about Choice, as well as other topics. Very personable and built great rapport. He made it painless to set up my service. The technician from Cool Storm AC was wonderful. I had the wrong date for my appointment so when I called and he told me the right date, I was upset so when he finished his last job, he came anyway and fixed my air conditioner and I was so thankful. He didn’t have to, but he did.

Once CHW was able to find a technician to work on my unit, everything went smoothly. The technician was well informed and professional. He quickly diagnosed the issue and got my A/C unit back online. It took a little over 24 hours to get the technician lined up with an appointment to come over.

Very happy with the technician and the work he completed. The circuit breaker needed to be replaced and the thermostat was not functioning correctly in our heat pump. He was prompt, courteous and professional. Choice was also good with communicating the status of our request. The only problem is it took 4 days to assign a technician to our request, rather than the 48 hours we expected.

Technician called to let me know he had cancellation and would be available to come early. He arrived promptly. Asked questions about the problems I was experiencing then did a thorough inspection of the unit. Explained all the issues and contacted warranty company to let them know. Tech came within 2 days of report and quickly determined problem with freezer side. Foundings were reported Choice Warranty, and within 1 day was offer cash amount to replace fridge, which was determined that it would cost more to fix. Amount will not cover all of the price of a new fridge, but the difference is reasonable for us to get what we need to replace something of similar type.

It took just over 3 weeks to get someone out to come repair my A/C! Two appts. were scheduled, then cancelled. New appts. set, and cancelled. I pay every month and expect that my home warranty would have contractors ready to provide the service! Customer service, when called, would tell me, “we are trying to find someone”. No monetary compensation was offered for the delay, yet, CHW, takes their money as scheduled, every month! The experience was very frustrating and my house was 80 degrees for 3 weeks!!!

I've had 3 claims in the 3-4 years I've had the contract and each time the worst technicians come to the house for the repair. Twice a tech came to the house, collected the payment and never came back. This time it's the water filter in the fridge leaking. Probably a 85 dollar part and the claim is just over a month old and still not fixed.

I was lied to twice on two different days about what the out of pocket cost would be for repairs, when I called to rectify the situation, the case manager said I was on my own, they would do nothing to correct the situation. I had to take two days off of work because they scheduled the technician to come out to my house, which required me to be there, when they knew the parts would not be in for another two days. Overall I would never recommend Choice Home Warranty to someone I hated, much less a friend or family member.

Our microwave stopped working in early March, and the matter wasn’t resolved until early May. The technician was wonderful… but the total lack of communication from CHW has been frustrating! I had to take it upon myself to work for 2 months on phone calls between CHW and the repair service company, only to find out that the part needed was no longer available. No one ever communicated that to me… In fact no one communicated with me at all. Finally got a settlement amount of about 20% of the cost of a new microwave. I wish now I hadn’t paid for a 5 year warranty contract… Would like to change to a different warranty company.

Temps reached 90 degrees and the AC was running constantly. First unit was low on freon and was not cooling the upstairs and when the tech showed up he noticed the downstairs outside coils were coated in ice so submitted another ticket for that one. Tech was quick at determining the issue and called and showed up at the agreed upon time. The AC is working fine now.

I’ve only recently purchased a house with Choice for my hw. So far, it’s been great. I’ve to submit four claims for things not working right and each repairman has gone above and beyond. I also like how responsive customer service has been. You never want to have to call for repairs, however, at $75 per service, that fee beats the out-of-pocket costs for the actual repairs any day.

The technician had the part in his trunk. Beforehand, I thought I would have to buy a new system. He explained these appliances can be repaired instead of buying new units. The technician arrived the same day the company said he would. He had no knowledge of my system prior to his arrival.

The process took too long. Your claims department made a simple thing too complicated. Why once your contactor submitted the photo on the issue it took over 30 min for your claims department to approve the fix. I expect if I pay in full for this warranty and the picture that were submitted show clearly that I had a problem why did this process take so long?

Every time I call to check on my washing machine. I get the same answer. It is as if they are reading off of a script. If I ask a question they just go back to the same answer they just gave me. No one speaks English well enough for anyone to understand. It is taking up to 30 days to get money to buy a new washer. And I have to go to a specific store. I can't choose the store I want to shop at. I'm going to a laundromat 3 x a week costing $60 a week! I have my daughter and 3 grandkids living with me. I can't afford this. This is a horrible company. I do not recommend them.

Took 5 days to get service tech out when they advertise 24-48 hours. Tech determined unit needed replaced. They said they would give me a e gift card for Lowe’s towards a new unit. It said it could take up to 30 days. I can’t wait 30 days I need a working unit. Called customer service who was no help. Hard to understand and kept repeating it can take up to 30 days. The service guy was great, but then again he’s not associated with Choice Home Warranty. We’ll see how long it takes to actually receive the E gift card. It’s electronic so I feel it should be very quick.

Choice Home Warranty will find a reason to deny your claim or send you a poorly rated service provider. I had an electrician with a 2.5 google rating show up and barely step foot in my home, tell me that my ceiling fan could not be fixed and I would be offered a basic replacement (mine had a chandelier light). I paid the $45 service fee and asked a relative to fix it and they did (and they are not an electrician). My dishwasher went out and they denied the claim due to an electrical failure or power surge. The service vendor THEY SELECTED said it was due to normal wear and tear. They still denied it and said they don’t consider it normal wear and tear and it’s not covered in my contract. Their list of reasons to deny a claim is EXTENSIVE and can be used at their sole discretion. I have even been told by the vendors they sent that they are hard to work for and I would have a better acceptance chance with other warranty companies.

17 still no refrigerator. Unacceptable turnaround time. Why would it take up to 30 days to send a gift card via email. This is a vital appliance in my home and the only response I get is an automated answer not addressing the issue. I think it's time to file a report with the Better Business Bureau. I called and only get half apologies and no one there seems concerned or willing to help. Why have insurance at all? As usual this company cares not about their paying customers. Did you wait 30 days to take my payment when I became a member. I think not.

Do not get your warranty through Choice unless you want nothing to ever get done. They are awful at communication. If you put in a request, you're lucky if a technician ever takes the job. Maybe it's different in a bigger city, but even in my decently sized town, they can't ever get anyone to come out. Sometimes they schedule someone and they don't even show up, and then the company won't let you get your own person or apply for reimbursement because from their perspective they already sent someone out. You just get caught in an endless loop.
Also on their website they say they cover older appliances, and that's what the sales rep have told me too, but that's a lie. I had something old that was in working condition when I got my house, but was definitely old and at the end of its life. When it broke down shortly after moving in, I tried to have choice replace it, but they said no because the wear and tear on it couldn't have happened within the short time I moved in there. Well duh, it was a very old appliance. I asked what I could do and they literally told me I should've waited another month or two to report it, and lie about when it broke down so it would be covered. This company sucks, waste of money. Do not use.

Some initial difficulty contacting Choice to report claim but piece of cake from then on. Was able to contact and reschedule apt with provider with no problem and service was prompt, effective, and providers were able to resolve issue. The Techs great! Was considering cancelation with Choice due to difficulty getting referral on my first claim (for another issue) but that Tech was also great, so decided to stay with Choice.

Your company did the job they were suppose to do. However I feel the settlement was a little low. This is based on the fact that the cost of living has gone up. Second taking 30 days to get a check to me is way too long. It should be in your policy holders hands in no more than 2 weeks.

We had a technician come and look at our AC units which have been causing issues. They will overheat and turn off, the capacitor has been replaced multiple times, etc. The technician who came and looked at our units was amazing, recommended the units be replaced, however CHW refused to accept that recommendation. Instead, we are forced to limp along with two units that are desperately needing to be replaced because they will not authorize the recommendation made by the technician.

The technician was great and knowledgeable. Choice has once again proven that they should not be in this business. I have had many home warranties through the years and continue to be appalled by the lack of coverage and empathy. Zero coverage for AC unit that went out in 120 consecutive days, a technician could not be found so I was told to source I did and zero coverage offered when the ac needed to be replaced. Now a shut off valve needs to be replaced and I am responsible for a majority of the repair because it is preexisting. Well it worked up to last week. I think that Choice's modi is what can we not pay and push to the homeowner. Maybe you should vet your homes before agreeing to cover them.

The plumber was great! My house is old evidently a few shortcuts were taken by the contractor who put in the plumbing! He had to replace several things but he was friendly and knew what was needed. He had to replace several items which didn't make it an easy fix but he was kind and friendly and considering the removing and replacing he was very efficient! So thank you very much!! My experience with Choice Home Warranty is good. When I call they understand what I need done whatever applies that I need taken care of. These incompetent people to fix it Or let it be known that it needs to be replaced. I have my hot water heater check and it wasn’t able to be fixed so they replaced it so I am happy with so I was home warranty.

Gas pilot was not working and had no hot water. Technician came promptly, diagnosed problem, got parts after approval and fixed problem. Kept me aware of each step in process and fixed everything promptly. Excellent technician.. Found him to be intelligent, engaging and easy to converse with. Returned when he said he would, repaired problem. Left area in a very neat as a pin condition.

DO NOT get a policy with Choice Home Warranty. I have had them for over five years. With the exception of *one claim, all of my claims I filed for repairs in 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 were denied. I was stuck with paying their $60 (and now their $85 trip charge fee), plus being 100% out-of-pocket on home repairs. To top it off, I still end up paying their now $670 annual policy premium. I really tried giving this company a chance. Where they WILL ALWAYS get you when denying your claim is on the "wear and tear" clause. They do cover normal wear and tear usage for repairs, However, they can DENY THE CLAIM by simply stating they believe to have concluded there was "misuse," or "neglect" of the product/appliance in question; and there is NOTHING you can do or say about that (trust me, my dryer experience is my testament).
Also, they say they cover the, and I quote, "Plumbing System" in your house. Hah, well, yeah sorta, but no, not really. Not for matters that homeowners would TRULY need help with repair costs on. For example, your spigot for your water hose...the entire copper water line (or PVC perhaps) runs through the inside of the house, up until the last 4 - 6 inches of the pipe, where it goes through the drywall and your brick and mortar (or stucco / siding) where it then attaches to your spigot. Guess what? Plumbing System not covered for that spigot because the plumbing line "leaves" the INSIDE of your house (in this case the last 4 inches of the pipe).
Serious toilet leaks/issues? Easily deniable because the line goes below your foundation into the sewer line (leaves the inside of the home). So, "Plumbing System" .....yeah, not really covered people. Unless you want to pay an $75-$85 trip charge to have the plumber come and repair your toilet seat cover, or your toilet water *pump (a < $40 cost doing it yourself). SAVE YOURSELF THE $650+ annual PREMIUM fees plus the trip charge fees! That is easily over $700 you don't need to spend and save it to pay for your plumbing or appliance issues yourself, hassle free! Believe Me, I know, I've been there!

DO NOT BELIEVE THEIR HYPE. I signed up for 3+ years (paid upfront) with this company. Didn’t use them much because I’ve always made sure my items were previously serviced but when I did need them with a plumbing backup the guy came in went into the basement, came back up and said I need the copay of which I gave to him. He then said I have to go get a larger machine. To this day I never heard from him again. His receipt shows his shop is his apartment

I have had this warranty for almost 3 years and never had a claim and I had a busted water pipe and called and couldn’t nobody but the automated system on a Sunday. They scheduled a plumber for Tuesday so I’m supposed to be without water for 2 days. So I called my own plumber and paid the bill and then called to get reimbursed and I was told I couldn’t be reimbursed but for half the bill. I would never purchase anything from this company again.

It now takes a week or more to get an appliance repair person to come out and fix the problem. It was going to be over a week for a refrigerator repair, so we had to buy a new one instead. It took almost a week to get the washer fixed. For both repairs, we were offered an appointment with Prompt Appliance Repair in Frisco, TX. I have made it clear that I will not let those people back in my house. They not only did not show up during their window of time, they arrive the next day after 9:00 pm. Each time they send me the notice that it will be this contractor, I have to call CHW and start all over again. 3-4 times I have done this but we keep getting them. We are considering cancelling our contract.
